- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not good at math, but it is next week.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: Fired up for that.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely fired up for it.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: We are almost out of this dead period for the NFL for your Jacksonville Jack Wars.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: I know we've got some more
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: film that we can break down throughout this week and do some different things that are fun instead of just looking at the lists over and over and over again, but I'm sure there will be some more lists and rankings as we answer closer to training camp.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: But today we're going to talk about Travis Hunter.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: some Travis on Travis hate that we have received lately.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about that.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Kelsey talking about Travis Hunter saying how how teams are going to try to attack him.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get into that fired up to talk about it.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: I have a lot of thoughts on it.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what we'll talk about here today.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: And two shows a day for the foreseeable future.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: cannot wait to get into training camp.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be boots on the ground.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: At least that's a plan.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: And providing the best coverage that I possibly can detailed coverage, most detailed that I can.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: They do place some restrictions on what media is able to talk about when it comes to like play types and formations and things like that.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: But we'll do our best.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: Um, excited for that.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: And excited to talk about Travis Hunter here today.

- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Kelsey was talking about him playing on both sides.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, you know, just run him.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like, when he's on defense at corner, just send guys down the field.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: Fly balls, go balls all day.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's what you do.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's what Travis Kelsey thinks.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, I get that sentiment.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: I get it.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think that there's some issues with that philosophy.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't have any notes on this, just kind of, I've been thinking about it for a while.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of issues with that philosophy.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: For one, if you're just running your receiver as much as you possibly can, and this isn't even factoring in like the types of coverage as the Jaguars will be in, right?
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: But if you, let's just say you're trying to run your receiver as much as you possibly can.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: You honestly think that that receiver is in better shape than Travis, Travis Hunter.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, because I've never seen anybody in as good of shape from a endurance standpoint than Travis Hunter.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I know we have machine training game in all this stuff yet, but I've seen him play, you know, in mini camp, I've seen him play at Colorado, where the elevation, it's like mile high, right?
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: That guy can run for days.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: You're just going to be wearing out your receiver.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly believe that.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: And that's not even talking about if you're actually going to test him throwing the ball down the field.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: If you're just talking about a we're going to eliminate Travis Hunter from this play defensively.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: Isn't that kind of the point of a corner to eliminate and opposing receiver?
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: If you're just saying, we're gonna run him and run him and run him, we're gonna get him gasped.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you're going to get him as gasped as you're getting your guy, because he's gonna have better endurance than your guy, because he's built for it.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: And then if you're just talking about, well, let's eliminate him from being able to make a play on this play.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of the corner's job.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't hear a corner backs name a whole lot,
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: They're doing pretty good.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a couple areas there where it's like, I don't really know how that works out.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then you talk about actual coverages.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars are going to be primarily his own coverage team and playing zone coverage is not eliminate you from having to run with a receiver, right?
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're playing off the line of scrimmage, whether it be five to ten yards off,
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: probably five to seven more realistically four to seven.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: You're not running as much as that opponent.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: And you can also see a lot of cover two.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: You have a safety over the top, right?
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: You plan underneath.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: There's just so many elements of it that kind of break down.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: When you think about it, then there's also the fact that he's not going to play one hundred percent of the snaps on both sides of the ball.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: How much will he play?
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: That we don't know yet.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: But I think he's a generational prospect on either side of the ball.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: More of the NFL draft landscape and media were higher on him at corner than receiver.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: His corner instincts are off the charts.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: The only issue I have with him at corner is that he's not that big.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: So, and when I say big, I don't mean length.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: the mass on his frame.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like when he's, if he's having to match up one on one against AJ Brown, Jamar Chase, you know, that could be difficult.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: That, I think that that is more of a potential problem for him than anybody out running him or out enduring him all day.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think dealing with these guys that are big, strong physical receivers, that could be difficult.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: Again, playing more zone will help with that.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: Also the fact that you have Tyson Campbell, who's a big strong physical corner, can help you out with that.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: Again, playing cover two, cover three, playing zone match.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: Different things will help Travis Hunter a lot, and again, he's so smart, so instinctive on the defensive side of the ball.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then there's the other thing, like if you want to actually test him down the field, like if you're not just using that receiver to eliminate Travis Hunter from the play and where I'm out a little bit, which again, I don't think he's going to get worn out before his opponent gets worn out.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: Good luck.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to end real quick when he picks off a one handed pass, shuts your drive down, teams are going to be like, well, that was fun while I lasted.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: All this to say, Travis Hunter, again, he played eighty-five percent of the snaps on both sides of the wall at Colorado in the altitude.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: I know Florida's hot.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: Altitude will take your breath away much quicker than heat and just the dense air here.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: It will.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: like that altitude is no joke.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: So going from that back to the south where you know float played in Florida and Georgia grew up in Florida.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that's going to be great for him.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: So Travis to me Travis Kelsey
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: if teams want to take that approach, I think they're going to regret it.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I also think there's so many different ways for the Jaguars to combat that.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars probably in preparing for what Travis Hunter needs to be for them, because this is an intentional franchise now, an intentional organization from the top down.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: They are not going into this without plan A, plan B, plan C, and the ability to be like, well, this isn't working
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: This wasn't our plan B, but based on how things are going, we need to pivot in this direction, right?
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be fluid.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly believe he will succeed playing on both sides of the ball, because I'm not going to be a person that's going to bed against Travis Hunter.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's the best prospect I've seen in a long time.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: I've said that way before here I've been Jacksonville.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: I really think that the Jags will
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: defensively be able to, because, you know, defenses get dictated to more than offenses.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: But the Jaguars want to be able to dictate on defense.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they can do that in certain ways.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I think, you know, if a team is literally just trying to wear a Travis Hunter out, you can take them off the field as well.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: You can absolutely do that.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: You can play coverages that will not make him run down the field consistently every play.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think one thing, not a lot of folks have talked about is like trying to run it at him with big runners, big backs, screens at him.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's actually, I think a more realistic way to try to attack him and wear him out early.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think he will be up to the task.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's a pretty good tackler.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: Very instinctive.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: Going to be able to read and react.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that that could be
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: away that teams kind of try to get him rattled or get him out of his his comfort zone is you know attack with screens and big backs and half back toss half back pitch try to get a back one on one with hunter in the open field there again I think he'll be up to the task where more often than not but
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: It'll be really interesting to see how teams try to attack Travis Hunter.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguar is defensive staff with Anthony Camponele leading the way are going to be entirely prepared for that.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: And this is all just like my opinion.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: We haven't actually seen Anthony Camponele call a game.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: We haven't actually seen Travis Hunter playing the NFL.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a betman.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm betting on Anthony Campanile and this Jaguar staff and entire organization having a wonderful plan for Travis and
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: having the ability to pivot and just Travis Hunter being up to the task.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: Because I just think there's nobody more dedicated, there's nobody in better shape, there's nobody more talented.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a star.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be the most upset this before.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be the most popular player in the NFL that's not a quarterback.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: Barnon.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: And that's going to be wonderful for the City of Jacksonville.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be wonderful for the Jags, for Jags fans.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: I really believe in Travis Hunter to the utmost.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: So I cannot wait to get out there for training camp and obviously to see him actually hit the field in the NFL.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what y'all think in the comment section below?
