- 0:00Throughout history, few names have carried the weight of
- 0:04blasphemy, obsession, and fear. Like Asmodeus, he's not merely a
- 0:11figure of folklore, but one of few demons whose presence
- 0:16crosses multiple religions, cultures, and centuries.
- 0:21From ancient Zoroastrian texts, where he first emerged as a
- 0:25wrathful spirit, to the Jewish Talmud where he became Ashmadeh,
- 0:31the tempter and deceiver, and from there into Christian
- 0:35demonology, where he took his final form as Ismodius, demon
- 0:40Prince of lust, his reputation has only grown darker, more
- 0:45personal, and more dangerous. This video explores his
- 0:50existence through religious texts, banned grimoires,
- 0:54exorcist handbooks, documented possession cases, and much more.
- 1:00So join me as we open the Demonology archives.
- 1:07They descended in silence before mankind carved stone into idols
- 1:13or penned prayers and ink. They came watchers, cloaked in
- 1:18fire and shadow, bound to the high places of the world.
- 1:23According to the ancient Book of Enoch, these were the Gregory or
- 1:29Watchers, a class of angels set to observe and guide mankind.
- 1:35But in the time before time they transgressed. 200 of them, led
- 1:41by the arch rebel Samyaza, abandoned their post and
- 1:46descended upon Mount Hermon. Their oath was not to God but to
- 1:51each other, and in that blasphemous covenant they made a
- 1:56pact to take human women as wives, to blend spirit and
- 2:01flesh. The children they spawned were
- 2:04called the Nephilim, monstrous giants, savage and cursed, great
- 2:11men of renown whose bloodlines poisoned the earth.
- 2:16Among these unions, whispered in apocryphal scrolls and ancient
- 2:21oral traditions, was born something worse, something
- 2:25neither watcher nor man, something corrupt.
- 2:31Asmodeus. Though his name is absent from
- 2:34Enoch's original list of watchers, later Mystics and
- 2:38scholars across Judaism, Christianity, and Islam
- 2:43theorized that Asmodeus was the offspring of one of the fallen
- 2:47Grigory, an immortal woman, possibly even Neme the demon is
- 2:53daughter of Lamech. This would make Asmodeus not
- 2:57just a demon, but a hybrid of divine rebellion and human lust,
- 3:03a creature born from the first crime of heaven.
- 3:07Where others fell from grace, Asmodeus rose in wrath.
- 3:12He would become the embodiment of unsanctioned desire, of
- 3:15twisted love, and of the rage that blooms when longing goes
- 3:20unfulfilled. He was not the Lord of war, but
- 3:24he would tear hearts from chests.
- 3:27He was not the God of fire, but he would burn cities with
- 3:31seduction and vice. His earliest whispers come not
- 3:36from temples, but from ruined cities.
- 3:40Cities like Uradu, Urgharit, and Urich where once sacred rites
- 3:46devolved into blood soaked orgies and priests heard voices
- 3:51and smoke filled chambers. Mesopotamian demonology speaks
- 3:56of a Sog, a being whose name is eerily similar and who brought
- 4:01disease and madness through lustful union.
- 4:05Later scholars would retroactively associate Asmodeus
- 4:09with these early figures, but it was not until the Hebrews went
- 4:13into exile that his name was written, etched into parchment,
- 4:18sewn into folklore, and sealed behind divine fear.
- 4:23By the time of the Babylonian captivity, Asmodeus had become
- 4:27known among Jewish Mystics and scribes as Ashmadi, the demon of
- 4:33lust, destruction, and vengeance.
- 4:37Yet unlike many demons, Ashmadi has never fully been cast into
- 4:42oblivion. He was too intelligent, too
- 4:46cunning, and too ancient. He knew the tongues of angels
- 4:51and men, and he played them both against each other.
- 4:56The Talmud would describe him as king over all Shedim spirits
- 5:02that existed in the spaces between heaven and hell.
- 5:06He was not born in a single moment, but forged across
- 5:10centuries in the primal fears of childbirth, in the sins of
- 5:15forbidden desire, and in the screams of those who died not by
- 5:20sword but by temptation. He was shaped not in the
- 5:24underworld, but in humanity's reflection, a demon born from
- 5:30what men wanted and could not have, And that is what made him
- 5:36unstoppable. In the book of Tobid we are
- 5:40introduced for the first time to Asmodeus by name, for she had
- 5:44been married to 7 husbands, but the wicked demon Asmodeus had
- 5:48killed them before they had slept with her.
- 5:52Tobit 38 Asmodeus is not just a destroyer, he is the embodiment
- 5:58of obstructed love, twisted jealousy, and Rage Against holy
- 6:03union. He did not kill Sarah, he
- 6:06possessed her. Not in the sense of rotating
- 6:10heads and split tongues, but something more intimate and more
- 6:15invasive. Her soul had been shadowed by
- 6:19him. The demon of lust made her his
- 6:22own, and anyone who dared approach her and desire was
- 6:26slain before the ACT could be completed.
- 6:30The text implies his wrath was both personal and ritualistic.
- 6:35He struck 7 times the biblical number of completion, covenant,
- 6:41and divine judgment, and each time the act of sacred union was
- 6:47corrupted. What should have been holy
- 6:51became cursed. When Tobias, the son of Tobin,
- 6:56journeys to Medea to retrieve his father's silver in Mary,
- 7:00Sarah, the Archangel Raphael appears in disguise, sent by God
- 7:05to aid him. Raphael does not simply offer
- 7:08moral support, he gives Tobias a weapon, a ritual.
- 7:14Take the heart and liver of the fish and burn it to produce
- 7:17smoke in the essence of the man or woman afflicted by a demon or
- 7:22evil spirit, and the affliction will flee Tobit 6-7.
- 7:28Here we are given one of the earliest formal exorcism rites
- 7:32recorded in ancient literature. Tobias follows the command, and
- 7:37on the night of the wedding he enters Sarah's chamber and burns
- 7:41the entrails of a fish, the smoke of which repels as Modius.
- 7:47The demon smelled the odor, and he fled to the remotest parts of
- 7:51Egypt. There the Angel Raphael bound
- 7:56him. Tobet 83.
- 7:59The Book of Tobet is not often classified as horror, yet its
- 8:04roots are soaked in dread. A demon who kills in the bed
- 8:07chamber, a woman haunted, shunned and shamed for the
- 8:12deaths that she did not 'cause, and a divine messenger engaging
- 8:17in spiritual warfare on Earth's threshold.
- 8:22And most chilling of all, Asmodeus is not destroyed.
- 8:26He is banished, bound for a time, but never slain, never
- 8:32cast into oblivion. The implication remains that he
- 8:36still waits just outside the Vale.
- 8:40In rabbinical and Talmudic depictions, it is said that even
- 8:45kings must kneel before him at least once.
- 8:49He was not born of clay nor crowned by blood.
- 8:53His throne was made of smoke and his crown of serpents.
- 8:58His Kingdom had no borders, only victims, and once, just once, he
- 9:06sat on Solomon's throne. In the great sea of Jewish
- 9:10folklore, the figure known as Ashma Day emerges not simply as
- 9:15a demon of lust, but as a being of immense intelligence, pride
- 9:20and cunning. Unlike the beasts of Pagan
- 9:23myths, Ashma Day was rational, calculating and terrifying.
- 9:29In his human like craftiness, he did not just haunt, he
- 9:34outwitted. And he did not just tempt, He
- 9:37ruled. Ashmond Day appears vividly in
- 9:41the Babylonian Talmud. The tale is as bizarre as it is
- 9:45unnerving. King Solomon, known for his
- 9:49divine wisdom, sought to build the Temple in Jerusalem.
- 9:53But he learned that to cut the sacred stones without
- 9:56desecrating them with iron tools, he needed a mythical
- 10:00object, the shamir, a worm or stone that could cleave rock
- 10:06without metal. The only being who knew its
- 10:09whereabouts was Ashmaday. With the help of his captain,
- 10:15Solomon lured Ashmaday into a trap using chains engraved with
- 10:19a divine name and a wineskin of strong drink.
- 10:24Ashmaday was captured and brought to Solomon in these
- 10:27chains, but what followed was no simple imprisonment.
- 10:32For years, Ashmadeh served Solomon, offering insights,
- 10:37riddles and strange knowledge. But behind his compliance was
- 10:42hatred and calculation. One day, as a show of confidence
- 10:47or divine arrogance, Solomon removed Ashmadeh's chains and
- 10:52the demons struck. Ashmadeh hurled Solomon hundreds
- 10:57of miles from Jerusalem, stole his ring, which bore the name of
- 11:01God, and took the King's appearance.
- 11:05For 40 days, some say longer, Ashmade sat on the throne in
- 11:10Solomon's form, issuing decrees, seducing women and spreading
- 11:17chaos. Beneath the guise of divine
- 11:19authority, Solomon wandered in exile, mad, barefoot, ranting of
- 11:26a demon wearing his face. Few believed him, and only after
- 11:31great tribulation did Solomon retrieve the ring, cast Ashma
- 11:36Day back into the underworld, and reclaim his throne.
- 11:41This tale, preserved not in Scripture but an oral rabbinic
- 11:44tradition, is no simple fable. It contains layers of cosmic
- 11:49horror. The wisest man alive is
- 11:52overthrown by betrayal. A demon's cunning, a creature
- 11:57that understands sacred law yet perverts it for his own mockery
- 12:02and reminder that even the great are vulnerable to spiritual
- 12:07overthrow. Unlike other demons, Ashma Day
- 12:11doesn't need claws or fire. He needs only a moment of pride,
- 12:16a misplaced trust to take everything.
- 12:20Strangely, some mystical writings claim that Ashmade
- 12:24assisted in the building of Solomon's temple.
- 12:27Once subdued, his knowledge of divine order, geometry, and
- 12:32sacred construction was unparalleled even among angels.
- 12:38This places him in the paradoxical position of both
- 12:41enemy and contributor to holy things.
- 12:45Could it be that evil was woven into the foundations of the
- 12:49Temple itself? Some cabalists say yes, that the
- 12:54Temple was built not just of stone and cedar but of
- 12:57compromise, that beneath its gold lay secrets, and that one
- 13:03of the secrets, or a demon's smile.
- 13:07In Islamic lore there seems to be a jinn connection.
- 13:11They are made of smokeless fire, and they see you from where you
- 13:15cannot see them. That is the ancient warning
- 13:18found in the Koran, of creatures called jinn, created long before
- 13:23mankind, invisible and burning. Among them walk the chiatin.
- 13:31The devils rebels against divine order, and within this fire lit
- 13:36pantheon shadows of Hismodius linger.
- 13:41Though his name is never directly spoken, yet he is there
- 13:46by form, function and fear. The Quran does not mentioned
- 13:52Asmodius directly, nor is there an exact linguistic counterpart,
- 13:57but scholars, particularly in Persian, Syriac, and esoteric
- 14:03Islamic commentary, have speculated that certain jinn in
- 14:08Shayaten are avatars of echoes of the same primordial spirit.
- 14:14In Sarah al Baraka 21-O2A chilling account emerges.
- 14:20And they followed that the devils had recited during the
- 14:23reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who
- 14:26disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved teaching people
- 14:31magic. The verse continues with the
- 14:34mention of Babel or Babylon and Harut and Marut, angels who
- 14:41taught mankind how to summon spirits and manipulate the
- 14:44hidden. This was not divine knowledge,
- 14:48it was forbidden power. The devil spread it among men,
- 14:53whispering corruption in teaching them to separate
- 14:57husband and wife. To those with Christian
- 15:00backgrounds, this line sounds eerily familiar.
- 15:04It mirrors Asmodeus's actions in the Book of Tobid, tearing
- 15:09marriages apart through demonic intervention.
- 15:13Though the Quran does not name him, the spiritual profile
- 15:16matches almost precisely in Islamic folklore.
- 15:21Jin can be good, evil or neutral.
- 15:25They live, love, marry and die, but they also possess, deceive
- 15:33and destroy. Among them are types associated
- 15:37with sexual assault and seduction.
- 15:40The Czar, for example, is a class of spirit in North Africa
- 15:45and in the Middle East that is believed to cause illness in
- 15:48women, often manifesting through sexual dreams, infertility or
- 15:54hysteria. Another infamous figure is the
- 15:58Ifrit, a powerful, malevolent class of gin often associated
- 16:03with fire, ruin and rage. The effort has long been invoked
- 16:08in horror tales as being of unrelenting violence and
- 16:12cruelty, appearing in both the Quran and countless Arabic folk
- 16:17tales. In some apocryphal Persian
- 16:20texts, a demon known as Ashmadai or Ishem emerges.
- 16:25These writings describe Ishem as a demon of wrath, a being who
- 16:30strikes lovers and ruins families.
- 16:34He is opposed by Surasha, the Angel of obedience, mirroring
- 16:39Raphael's opposition to Ismodius in the Book of Tobid.
- 16:44He is also a demon that is found in grimoires.
- 16:48By the time the Middle Ages bled into the Renaissance, Asmodius
- 16:52had fully emerged from scripture and folklore into Western
- 16:56ceremonial magic. No longer a vague adversary or
- 17:00whispered fear, he became a named and ranked demon of the
- 17:05Infernal hierarchy. Complete with symbols, powers,
- 17:10and prescribed summoning riots, he had become something far more
- 17:15dangerous, a God for sale. Written sometime between the
- 17:2017th and early 18th centuries, The Lesser Key of Solomon is a
- 17:25grim compilation of magical invocations, demon summoning
- 17:30rituals and protective seals. It codifies 72 demons said to
- 17:36have been bound by King Solomon himself in the 1st and most
- 17:40infamous section known as the Arsegoesha as Modius appears as
- 17:45the 32nd Spirit, ranked as a powerful king under the rule of
- 17:51a Maiman, A demonic Prince of the East.
- 17:55He is strong and powerful and appears like 3 heads, the first
- 17:59like a bull, the second like a man, and the third like a ram.
- 18:05He has the tail of a serpent and from his mouth issues flames.
- 18:10He rides upon an infernal dragon and bears a Lance with a banner.
- 18:16Asmodeus is associated with lust, luxury, and debauchery,
- 18:21and is said to teach arithmetic, astronomy, geometry, and
- 18:26handicraft, a clear echo of his role in Solomon's Temple, an
- 18:31earlier Jewish lore. Yet beneath A scholarly surface
- 18:35lies a disturbing warning. He must be approached with great
- 18:38caution, for if the conjurer is not guarded by the proper rights
- 18:43and protections of the angels, Asmodeus will deceive, destroy
- 18:48or possess. His wrath is legendary, and his
- 18:53contempt for weakness, especially that of the conjurer,
- 18:57is absolute. In 1818, French occultist
- 19:01Jacques Colleen Polansi published the dictionary
- 19:05Infernal, a dark encyclopedia of demons, complete with grotesque
- 19:10illustrations. By the 1863 edition, Asmodeus
- 19:14was featured prominently. Asmodeus is the demon of
- 19:18lechery. He preserves the secrets of
- 19:20pleasure houses temps men into impure acts, and rules over
- 19:25gambling dens and corrupt courtships.
- 19:29Duplancy's illustrations shows a monstrous being with clawed
- 19:33feet, a crown and wings holding a scepter, half king and half
- 19:39beast. He was no longer the subtle
- 19:42spirit of Tobit or the manipulative Ashmidae of the
- 19:46Talmud. He was now a fully integrated
- 19:48figure of Christian demonology, adopted into the growing Canon
- 19:54of Hell's nobility. The Grimroorium Virum, an 18th
- 19:59century Italian grimoire falsely attributed to Solomon, focuses
- 20:03more explicitly on practical demon summoning.
- 20:07Asmodeus is listed here not just as a name, but as a summonable
- 20:12entity through invocations in Latin, Hebrew, and Greek.
- 20:17In this text, his role is erotic and violent.
- 20:21He grants invisibility during adultery.
- 20:24He can instill uncontrollable desire in any target.
- 20:29These rituals are marked by high risk.
- 20:32Blood, mirrors and sacrificial fire are commonly required.
- 20:37Should the ritual falter, it warns Asmodeus may stay and not
- 20:42as a servant. Asmodeus also appears during the
- 20:46Inquisition in witchcraft confessions.
- 20:50Beginning in the late 15th century and reaching its
- 20:53horrifying peak in the 16th and 17th centuries, the European
- 20:57witch hunt swept across Germany, France, Scotland and Spain like
- 21:03a plague. Inquisitors under both the
- 21:06Church and state extracted testimonies, often under brutal
- 21:11torture, from accused witches, heretics, and apostates.
- 21:17These confessions followed a disturbingly consistent pattern.
- 21:21Packs signed in blood, desecrated crosses, naked
- 21:26gatherings under the full moon, and, most disturbingly, sexual
- 21:30intercourse with demons. The demon named most frequently
- 21:34in cases involving lust, fertility, adultery and sexual
- 21:39assault was Osmodius. In 1589 in France, a midwife
- 21:46named Jean Rebelay was accused of causing miscarriages,
- 21:51blighting crops and leading young men into sexual ruin.
- 21:55Under torture, she confessed to nightly visitations by a black
- 22:00ram headed demon who mounted her in her sleep and whispered the
- 22:05tongues of Babel into her ear. She named him Asma Day.
- 22:12In 1611 in Bamberg, Germany, Brother Klaus, A monk, was
- 22:18charged with breaking his vows of chastity.
- 22:21He claimed in court that he had been seduced by a female demon,
- 22:25but that her Master, a crowned beast with a serpent's tail,
- 22:30washed from the shadows and sometimes took her place.
- 22:35His name, Klaus said, was Ismodius, and he came to test
- 22:40holy men. In both cases, the accused were
- 22:44executed, burned alive, their screams masked by hymns.
- 22:51The infamous Inquisitor's Manual, the Malaeus Maleficarum
- 22:56or the Hammer of Witches, written in 1487, was compiled by
- 23:02Henry Kramer, played a pivotal role in reshaping how demons
- 23:06were perceived during trials. Later versions and commentaries
- 23:10began associating the sexual tempter figure with Ismodius,
- 23:15especially when witches were accused of luring priests into
- 23:19scandal, causing infertility, or having demonic offspring.
- 23:25Some Inquisitors even declared that Ismodius could enter a
- 23:28man's seed corrupted and thus pollute bloodlines.
- 23:33The idea was simple and horrifying.
- 23:37A demon could possess a generation from the womb.
- 23:42By the 17th century, sexual demons were commonly categorized
- 23:46into two groups, succubi, which were female demons who seduced
- 23:52men, and incubi, male demons who assaulted women.
- 23:57As Modius was said to command both, he did not appear in every
- 24:02ritual, but where lust and shame intersected, there he reigned.
- 24:08Victims often claimed that a presence entered their bedroom
- 24:11at night, that they would have dreams of being violated, often
- 24:16with animalistic features present such as horns, scales or
- 24:21hooves, the sensation of paralysis and burning, and
- 24:26unwanted arousal. From the late 1800s through the
- 24:31early 20th century, Europe experienced what scholars call
- 24:35the occult revival. Disillusioned with institutional
- 24:39religion, intellectuals and Mystics turned towards forgotten
- 24:43gods, spirits and ancient demons.
- 24:47They did not deny the supernatural, but they did
- 24:49invite it. Orders like the Hermetic Order
- 24:52of the Golden Dawn, the Esophical Society, Ordo Templi
- 24:57Orientis, or the OTO and Fraternal Lodges drew from old
- 25:02grim wars like the Goisha, the Grimurorium Virum in the
- 25:07Dictionary Infernal, reviving their rituals under the veil of
- 25:12high ceremonial magic. And in many of these texts one
- 25:16name was marked with lust and danger.
- 25:19Asmodeus within these orders as Modius was reimagined less as a
- 25:24grotesque monster and more as a symbolic force representing
- 25:29libido, hidden knowledge through desire and wrath turned into
- 25:34willpower. His traditional image of being 3
- 25:38headed, crowned riding a dragon was reduced to sigils, tarot
- 25:44archetypes and planetary associations.
- 25:48But beneath this intellectual repackaging, Asmodius was still
- 25:52dangerous. His rituals, preserved in
- 25:55grimoire traditions, demanded nudity, sexual acts,
- 26:00bloodletting, or abstinence prior to invocation.
- 26:05For some, these were metaphors, for others they were literal.
- 26:10Perhaps no occult figure flirted more directly with Asmodius than
- 26:14Aleister Crowley, the founder of Thelema and self styled Great
- 26:19Beast 666. Though Crowley rarely invoked
- 26:24Asmodeus by name in his public writings, private journals such
- 26:29as The Magical Record of the Beast included coded references
- 26:34to the King of Lust and Amodeo, a spirit bound to the sex ritual
- 26:41known as Lieber XLIX. Crowley's magic involved sex as
- 26:47a sacrament, including same sex riots, tantric inversion, and
- 26:52ritual orgasm, all concepts that mirrored Asmodian mythos.
- 26:58Interruption of sacred union, twisting of desire into power,
- 27:03and knowledge gained through pleasure and taboo.
- 27:07It is widely believed that OTO initiates were taught rituals
- 27:11and which Asmodius was invoked directly mast in layers of
- 27:15Hebrew, Latin and Gematria. These rites did involve sex,
- 27:22fire and invocations of Mars. Crowley himself wrote that the
- 27:28pleasures of Ismodius are the keys to unlocking the Temple of
- 27:32Man. He did not fear Ismodius.
- 27:35He worshipped what he believed Ismodius represented.
- 27:39Separately, legends began to circulate tying Ismodius to
- 27:43Freemasonry, especially in French and Scottish traditions.
- 27:48In particular, the Chateau de Ranale Chateau in southern
- 27:54France, a mystery rich estate allegedly tied to the Knights
- 27:58Templar, became the focal point of Asmodian myth.
- 28:03In the 1890's, the Catholic priest renovated the church on
- 28:08the estate and installed a statue of Ismodius at the
- 28:11entrance, one that was grotesque, hunched and holding
- 28:16holy water. This image of a demon inside a
- 28:20church ignited a century of speculation.
- 28:25Did this priest discover forbidden Templar knowledge?
- 28:28Was the statue symbolic of the church's secret pact with
- 28:32infernal powers? Or did he, as some believed,
- 28:37engage in ritual worship of Ismodius in exchange for sudden,
- 28:42inexplicable wealth? No confession was ever made, but
- 28:46the rumors, rituals at midnight, gold in the crypt, and orgies
- 28:52within spread like fire and dry hay.
- 28:56There are other notable possession cases as well, in
- 29:00which Asmodius is believed to be tied to.
- 29:04In South Africa, a 16 year old orphan named Clara Germanicile
- 29:09began exhibiting symptoms that baffled missionaries and
- 29:13physicians alike. The records written by nuns of
- 29:16Saint Michael's Mission in Natal reported that Clara understood
- 29:21languages that she had never studied.
- 29:24She displayed supernatural strength, throwing nuns across
- 29:28rooms. She revealed the private sins of
- 29:31those around her, and she had a violent aversion to holy water,
- 29:37crucifixes and Latin prayers. Most disturbing, the
- 29:42manifestations were described as sexual and blasphemous.
- 29:47She often spoke in a male voice and made obscene gestures toward
- 29:52priests, even during prayer. Though no specific demon was
- 29:57named in the surviving documents, later Catholic
- 30:00scholars and demonologists, especially in post Vatican 2
- 30:04studies, have speculated that the characteristics aligned
- 30:09closely with Ismodius. Clara's exorcism lasted 2 days,
- 30:15and witnesses claimed that a dark, smoky figure left her body
- 30:20during the final rite. Another case, one that I have
- 30:25covered on this channel, is also loosely associated with Ismodius
- 30:30in West Pittston, PA. Jack and Janet Smurl and their
- 30:35children claimed they were terrorized by a demonic entity
- 30:40for over 15 years. Their story became a national
- 30:44sensation, eventually drawing the attention of Ed and Lorraine
- 30:48Warren, the famed demonologists. Their activity reported foul
- 30:54odors of rotting flesh, violent sexual assaults on both Jack and
- 30:59Janet, growls, and shadows moving through rooms in a black
- 31:05mass that would manifest and vanish on command.
- 31:11The Rain warns stated in interviews that the entity was
- 31:14not human and that it was not just a haunting but a demonic
- 31:18infestation. Though the Warrens avoided
- 31:21naming this spirit publicly, speculative connections in later
- 31:25books and occult forums pointed towards Asmodeus.
- 31:30This was due to the sexual assault of both genders,
- 31:34destruction of intimacy in the home, and the targeting of
- 31:38religious individuals. Considering Jack was a devout
- 31:41Catholic, the Church eventually sanctioned an exorcism, and
- 31:47though the results were unclear, the family moved and the
- 31:51phenomena ceased. In modern Catholic exorcism
- 31:55handbooks, Asmodeus is listed among spirits of impurity.
- 32:00Priests are advised to watch for the following signs during
- 32:03possession. Cases that suggest his presence.
- 32:07Obscene speech or gestures during holy rites.
- 32:11Sexual nightmares involving beast like creatures, sudden
- 32:15divorce, adultery or abuse within families under spiritual
- 32:19attack, fixations on mirrors, self-image or nudity in Father
- 32:27Antonio Fortia's Field Notes. A leading Vatican trained
- 32:31exorcist, he recounts a case of a Spanish woman who spoke in
- 32:36ancient Hebrew and claimed to be the consort of kings, the one
- 32:41who breaks their beds and names. She repeatedly referenced the
- 32:47burning throne and demanded blood and wine.
- 32:51Fortea never publicly confirmed the demon's identity, but in a
- 32:56footnote he marked the reference C ismodius Tobid 3/8 in 2004.
- 33:05A New England based clinical psychologist by the name of
- 33:08Doctor Keith Callahan privately shared notes with the Catholic
- 33:12Diocese involving a patient given the pseudonym Alyssa.
- 33:18Her case presented as hypersexual behavior followed by
- 33:22intense guilt, voices urging her to seduce her father, priest and
- 33:28therapist, reoccurring dreams of a horned man laying beside her
- 33:33in bed, and sudden violent outbursts during religious
- 33:37exposure. Doctor Callahan, an agnostic,
- 33:42began documenting what he believed were signs of demonic
- 33:45attachment. When he administered an EEG scan
- 33:49during one of Alyssa's states, the results resembled epileptic
- 33:53seizure activity. Yet neurologists found no
- 33:57medical 'cause she later attempted to UN alive herself,
- 34:02according to the diocesan notes, and she underwent a private
- 34:06right of deliverance, not a full exorcism but a sanctioned prayer
- 34:11session. Her symptoms improved only after
- 34:15she renounced all sexual contact and spiritual practices,
- 34:19including yoga and meditation. Doctor Callahan's private
- 34:24conclusion, whether psychosis or spiritual.
- 34:27This patient did not invent the name Esmodius.
- 34:31She had never heard it before, but she drew his sigil
- 34:34perfectly. In the modern day, Asmodius has
- 34:38taken a new form, one born not in parchment but in pixels.
- 34:44Online forums like our Occult and even private Discord servers
- 34:50often report Ouija board sessions gone wrong, with the
- 34:53name Asmodius spelling itself out repeatedly.
- 34:57Shadow figures during masturbation or pornography
- 35:01withdrawal. Teenagers performing ritual
- 35:04challenges on TikTok involving packs and summoning rights.
- 35:09Some of the most chilling modern claims here to quote.
- 35:13I felt something climb into bed with me.
- 35:16It felt like a man. It whispered things that I
- 35:19wanted to hear. But I wasn't alone.
- 35:22After I did the ritual, I couldn't stop thinking about
- 35:26hurting the people I love. And I asked for power.
- 35:31But now I see him everywhere, reflected in glass and strangers
- 35:37and in myself. Whether hoax, hysteria or true
- 35:41spiritual contact, the mythos is certainly very alive.
- 35:47There are mentions of Ismodius during the Satanic Panic, as
- 35:52well as very real cult and occult related crimes and their
- 35:57court documents, but I think I'm going to save that for another
- 36:01separate video so that way I can do a full, proper deep dive into
- 36:05what all that contains. But given all that we've delved
- 36:09into today, if someone's obsession, pain, and violation
- 36:14feel external, if their healing comes through exercising a name,
- 36:19does it matter whether Ismodius truly exists?
- 36:23Or perhaps worse, does it make him more real if enough people
- 36:28believe? He does.
- 36:30Asmodeus survives not because of belief, but because of behavior.
- 36:36He feeds on repetition, the jealousy, the lust, the wrath.
- 36:41We hide behind poetry and psychology.
- 36:46Whether you believe in demons or not, one truth remains.
- 36:51The effects attributed to Asmodeus are real, and sometimes
- 36:57so is he. Thank you guys so much for
- 37:01joining me into this deep dive of this very creepy demon here
- 37:06on another episode of the Demonology Archives.
- 37:10I appreciate your patience. I know these episodes aren't for
