- 0:00SPEAKER_00: It's definitely a winning midterm strategy, 100%.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: This is The Opinionated Ogre Podcast,
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: your weekly rampage through current events with a little snark,
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: a bit of foul language, and a lot of strong opinions.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: There are new episodes every Thursday and they're not safe for work
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: or polite company of any kind whatsoever.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: I am your podcast host, The Opinionated Ogre, and this is my co-host, Florida Woman.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Hello, Florida Woman.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Good morning, everyone.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: I gotta know,
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: are you super excited that the reflecting pool is drained again
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: and totally gonna be fixed totally the right way this time by the same people
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: who did such an amazing job the first time?
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: I do think it's hilarious that the reflecting pool was drained
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: and it's completely black because every single bit of the paint peeled up.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: You know, it's hilarious.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Someone showed a picture.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: You know, they took pictures of it, even though it's all surrounded by fence and whatever.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: But you can see the tire tracks from where Trump and his people drove all over it.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, my God.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: Can you?
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: I didn't see that.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Which is like so vandals damaged it, though, right?
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: It was the vandal with their tire.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: That's what that is really funny.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: This is recording.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Just it's just I can't I can't even watch people.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: This is the recording of July 16th,
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: 2026, and we have a lot to get to on episode 105 of the Yacht Pod.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: We ready to do this?
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: Excellent.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: All right, now let's get to it.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: It's time for the Oga Nation news update.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: So, Trump,
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: because he's a fucking fascist,
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: has dismantled the Election Assistance Commission,
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: the EAC,
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: after Supreme Court reversed the 91-year-old Humphreys executor precedent
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: that shielded independent commissions.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Trump fired Benjamin Hovland and Thomas Hicks.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Those are the two Democrats on the committee.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: He allowed the remaining Republican, Christie McCormick, to resign.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Aw, how nice.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: Insinuating that the three remaining members of the commission were, quote,
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: not totally aligned with the important task of securing America's elections
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: and ensuring every legal vote is counted.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Durgin went on to say that it had been working to ensure elections were,
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: quote, unquote, safe and specifically mentioned the midterms.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Now, of course,
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: what they meant here when they said they're not totally aligned,
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: they're not willing to rig the election for Trump.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: That's what they're saying.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Trump is insisting,
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: will insist that he has the authority to appoint temporary members,
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: members whose idea of election integrity will be to lie to the public.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: But only Congress can confirm appointments to the EAC.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Remember,
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: temporary appointments are Trump's favorite workaround
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: to avoid congressional approval.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: He could just leave the commission empty and use the void.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: The EAC isn't the only commission that Trump has intentionally dismantled in order
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: to fuck with the midterms.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: The federal election
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: And there are hundreds of FEC cases remain open
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: and violations are completely unenforced as a result, which is the point.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: That's why he's doing this.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: And it's allowing Republicans to fuck with the elections.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: That's the point.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: That's why he's crippling the FEC.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: When this is all over,
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Democrats need to remove all of these agencies And commissions from
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: the executive branch and either put them under the sole control of Congress or
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: the judiciary.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: So the next Republican fascists, and they're all going to be fascists going forward, will not.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: We will not be able to do this again.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Tomorrow night, we're recording this on Wednesday.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: We're going to be playing this on Thursday.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: So Thursday night,
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Trump is going to be having a primetime speech or whatever,
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: announcements or whatever.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: He's going to be out there babbling.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: He's supposed to be giving some kind of speech about the election.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: It's all going to be bullshit about things they've discovered,
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: which means stuff they've made up.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: And they're going to be talking,
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: supposedly,
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: he's going to be talking about the 2020 election and how it was rigged
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: and how they have proof.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Which they can't provide.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: They're not going to be able to provide that proof.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: You're just going to have to take their work.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: And allegedly,
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: he's going to be talking about how both Georgia senators,
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Raphael Warnock and John Ossoff, worked.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: They're illegitimately elected.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Their elections were tampered with and neither one of them is legitimate
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: and they're going to be doing something about it.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: What it comes down to,
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Trump has been fixated on Georgia this entire time because Because as far
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: as he's concerned, that state should have been stolen for him.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Is he's fanatically fixated on grievances against himself.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: So he will never,
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: ever stop trying to prove,
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: quote unquote, that the 2020 election was rigged against him.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Even if he has to completely fabricate the evidence, which he's going to do.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Now, we don't know what this is going to look like.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: We don't know what this is going to sound like.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: We don't know what fake evidence he's going to try to put forward.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: But we know as soon as it gets into court,
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: it's going to be burned to a cinder because when you get it into court,
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: You actually have to provide the evidence.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: And when they refuse to do that,
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: every fucking judge is going to be like, yeah, we're not doing that.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: Like even Republican judges have a habit of going,
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: yeah, I'm not ruling on that without some fucking evidence.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: If you won't give me evidence, get out of my court.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Except for the Supreme Court.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: The Republican justices there will rule on anything without evidence because that's the job.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: But I doubt this is going to get to the Supreme Court.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: I doubt they're going to touch this with a 10-foot pole.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: We're going to see how this goes.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: But this is just the next step in them trying to steal the 2026 midterms.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: So something to look at.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Buckle up.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: And we will talk about whatever bullshit he comes up with next.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Meanwhile, let us move on to the next bit of bullshit.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: Last week, we told you about the death of Lorenzo Salgado Arojo in Houston.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: ICE agents claimed that the 52-year-old construction worker tried to run them over,
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: even though there's video evidence proving that was not the case.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: And that left them no choice but to open fire on him.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: In a not at all shocking turn of events,
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: the men who were in the vehicle with him said that's not what happened at all.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Shocker.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: The Washington Post published an exclusive interview with the men's attorney.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Three men were in the vehicle with Salgado Arojo when he was murdered.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: They were all taken into ICE custody.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: And And prosecutors in Texas have actually obtained,
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: they've certified their U visas,
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: which is super important because a U visa certification means
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: that they should be stopped from deportation so that they can testify or testify in
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: the U And EU visas,
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: for those of you who don't know,
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: are given to people who cooperate with police,
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: and typically they can get their citizenship from them.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: It's called the golden ticket.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Their names are Jose Trinidad.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: Bernadette Rojos, Daniel Tirado Pentaho, and the victim's brother, Victor Salgado.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: In a written statement, Rojos claimed that ICE is lying.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: He said, quote, How can you run somebody over when they are on the sides of the vehicle?
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: It's just not possible.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: I mean, doesn't your car drive sideways?
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, mine does.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: Only when I'm on a slippery road with no tread.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: Only when I got NASCAR tires on my car.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: Um, the attorney,
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: their attorney said that the other two men who were in the vehicle echoed
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: that statement.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: It's important to understand that these men were all separated before they were put
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: into custody.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: So they had no time to collude with one another to, like, create some narrative.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: So the fact that they're all telling the same story is very telling.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: The men claimed that they were headed to a construction site after buying water and ice.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: Salgado Araujo was stopped at a red light.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: When it turned green, a vehicle cut in front of them and stopped.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: He attempted to make a U-turn.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: That's when A.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: Agents turned on their police lights in their vehicle.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: He continued to move forward.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: Then the ICE agents hit his vehicle.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: One yelled stop while firing into the passenger side of the van.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: So he never had the opportunity to...
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: They just immediately opened fire on him.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: He was hit in the stomach and the agents continued firing even after he was hit and
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: then violently pulled him out of the van and threw him to the ground.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: The victim screamed for help.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: As he bled out and his brother said that agents mocked him asking in Spanish,
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: you wanted to escape, right?
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: It just tells you that they're not doing this because they feared for their lives or
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: because they felt they were threatened.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: They're doing it because they wanted to.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: It was motivated by animus.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: It was motivated by him and they're enjoying it.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and the fact that the men who pulled him out
- 10:38SPEAKER_01: and mocked him were also Hispanic is just fucking disgusting and vile.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it'd be your own people.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the call is coming
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: from in the house.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: As I said,
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: all of the witnesses were not able to create a narrative,
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: which means that it's probably true what they were saying
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: because they're all telling the same story.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: And the ICE agents were Not wearing body cams, shockingly.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Because of course not.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: I want to take these Hispanic ICE agents,
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: sit them down and explain to them, you're not white.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: You're never going to be white.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: If you think you are,
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: I want to drop you off with the neo-Nazis and tell them with no badges, no nothing.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Just drop you off in an arena with a bunch of neo-Nazis,
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: tell them your name, and then see what happens to you.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: Once they're done ripping you limb for limb as you're screaming,
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: I'm one of you, then you're going to find out you're not actually white.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: They don't care because once they're done deporting all the people you think are
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: the bad ones, you're next, buddy.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: It's kind of like the Christians who are being attacked by the far right Israelis right now.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: It's like you were never one of them.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: They were never going to leave you alone.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: You were always next in line.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: Morgan says they have Stephen Milleritis.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Well, as a Latino, I'm sure you feel all kinds of ways about that.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: And my husband does, too.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: My husband always says, you know, nobody hates you more than the immigrant who came before you.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: Sadly, another man was also shot and killed by ICE this week.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: On Monday...
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: In Biddeford, Maine,
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: 26-year-old Juan Sebastian Guerrero,
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: a legal resident who had a work card and a social security number,
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: was pulled over because he was a brown person near the scene of an ICE raid.
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: Guerrero was married and had a three-year-old daughter who was,
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: I don't think she was in the car.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: I think she was near, like, he was near his house.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: And the three-year-old and the mother witnessed it.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: And she apparently,
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: according to reports,
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: she was standing outside in bluey pajamas while her dad bled to death on the ground.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Which is... Just delightful.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: Just delightful.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: And they yelled at her.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they yelled at her because she was smelling flowers.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: Because that's necessary.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: It's like, oh, what is she, illegally smelling flowers?
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: Like, what the fuck are they doing?
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Guerrero was not the target of the ICE raid,
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: even though they tried to say that he was at first,
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: and then they changed their story.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: They're also calling him illegal, which is not true.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: He had, as I said,
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: he'd been issued a social security number and he was legally working in
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: the United States, which means he was documented.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: But of course,
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: that doesn't matter because whether you're documented or not,
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: you don't deserve to be murdered on the street.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: I mean, I've been talking to Ogre about this this week.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: This is really affecting my husband, who is a legal immigrant.
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: He has a green card.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: He went...
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: He went out and bought life insurance because he said that he wanted to make sure
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: that,
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: we were taken care of in case ICE murdered him, which is fucking wild to me.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Then yesterday morning when he found out about this,
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: because he came home late the night that this happened.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: So he didn't find out about it until the next day.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: And he came into the bedroom and he said, they're killing us.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: You know, how am I supposed to respond to that?
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: I can never understand what my husband is going through.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: ICE also claimed that Guerrero fled the scene,
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: so they had to kill him to protect the public,
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: which is another way of saying that they shot the car.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: They shot at a car that was driving away from them.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: In this incident,
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: they also claimed that he was weaponizing his car,
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: but video shows that they were on the sides of his car, not in front of it.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but at first they didn't say that.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: They didn't go with that narrative at first.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: That came later.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: So they changed their story again.
- 14:34SPEAKER_01: By the way, they were also not wearing
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: body cams.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: It's so weird.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: It's almost like they didn't have unlimited budget to spend as much as they want on anything.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: They just deliberately chose not to get body cams.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: And an older Caucasian man saw the aftermath and they said as he was as
- 14:50SPEAKER_01: the ICE agents pulled him out of the car, he said, but I tried to stop.
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: But they handcuffed him and let him bleed to death before leaving his body on
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: the street for hours in front of his daughter.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: Stephen Miller's Gustavo killed Guerrero based on the fact that he was brown
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: and they could.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: And also before I let Ogre take over here, there was another death in Florida yesterday.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: I just tried to pull over a vehicle with immigrants in it.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: They ran and one of them ran into traffic and got hit by a truck, a semi-truck.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: The semi-truck driver got out and tried to save him, but it was too late.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's nice that the guy tried to because I certainly wouldn't have.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, we know that they just let him die.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: They don't care.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: Now, mediocre racist white people,
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: because this is how I refer to them all the time now,
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: will say Guerrero should have complied.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: But first, those same people, they're the same ones who cried big sobby tears.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: Would we say that about the dead terrorist Ashley?
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Over and over again, killing them.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: The only sane response is to flee.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: But Guerrero wasn't doing that.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: He tried to stop.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: He tried to pull over.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: And they killed him anyway because they wanted to.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: They wanted to kill him.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Now, as of Tuesday,
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: we're recording this on Wednesday,
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: ICE is suspending vehicle stops until their racist agents understand their orders
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: to stop murdering civilians.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: This is supposed to be a Pause for further training, but that's bullshit.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: These are violent,
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: trigger-happy white nationalists who think they'll be protected by Trump no matter
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: who they kill.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: Because so far, that's been true.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: No one's been punished for We still don't even know who killed Renee Good and Alex Preddy.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: No one's been punished for any of that.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: We don't even know their names yet.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: ICE is absolutely out of fucking control and cannot be fucking fixed.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: It has to be abolished.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: All of the agents investigated and brought up on charges.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: Nuremberg them all.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: Every one of them.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: Every single fucking one of them.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: Even though Guerrero is not a white person,
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: this is important because so far,
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: most of our protesting is reserved for when they kill white people.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: Still, people have...
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: They showed up at Susan Collins' Biddeford office chanting,
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: vote her out,
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: which does not vote well for the deeply unpopular senator who,
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: until Last week was looking forward to an easy win over Graham Plattner.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: Now she's going to be facing a Democrat.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: We still don't know who,
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: but whoever it is,
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: they're not going to have a Nazi tattoo and rape allegations
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: while Susan Collins is going to be wearing her vote to fully fund the murderers
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: of ICE around her neck like albatross.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: And did you hear her?
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: She was like, this is just proof that ICE needs to wear body cams.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, let me let me tell you something.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: We here at The Opinionated Ogre Podcast are very sure
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: that Susan Collins is very concerned and we feel just awful for her.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: That fucking.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: So anyway, let us move on.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: Let us reminisce about the ceasefire that ended the Iran War
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: and everything was fine forever and ever because Donald Trump is
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: the greatest dealmaker of all time.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: Mr. Art of the Deal.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: Art of the Deal.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: The war's over.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: Oh, wait, darn, it's not.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: But we all knew that was bullshit weeks ago, and now it's official.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: The war that never really ended is back on because Donald Trump is a fucking moron
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: who can't admit he lost.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: And that's really what it comes down to.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: We lost.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: Trump refused to accept the terms of the deal because we lost.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: And now after weeks of exchanging fire and Iran attacking ships that were violating.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: Now, that
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: gives him another 60 days to wage war without congressional oversight.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: And presumably on day 59, Trump will claim a new fake ceasefire in place just like last time.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: Trump announced on Monday that the U.S.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: Navy is going to blockade the Strait of Hormuz again and threatened to impose
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: a 20% fee slash illegal toll on any ship that comes through.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: So we're blockading their blockade?
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, again, we're doing this again.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: This is about $30 million per tanker.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: Iran was only demanding about $2 million.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: But he dropped this demand because he just came up with it on his own.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Like he just whipped it up out of his ass because the Gulf states tripped
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: over their own dicks to offer Trump more bribes slash investment in
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: the United States.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: Because we have a cheap fucking mob boss in the White House
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: and Republicans will never be allowed to wash the stain of Trump
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: from their filthy party of criminal.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: So.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: Trump is also now pretending his ceasefire,
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: which he bragged about incessantly, wasn't that big a deal because it failed.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: So it's not what ceasefire.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: Never met him.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: He was the coffee boy.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: Who gives a shit?
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: Never met him.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: In order to keep paying for Trump's imbecile and illegal war,
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: Republicans are trying to push through a new military spending bill worth
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: at least 70 billion dollars.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Jesus Christ.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: This is on top of the 1.5 trillion military budget that they're trying to ramp through.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: And they're doing this in an election year where they said they had
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: to cut school lunches and Medicaid because America was broke.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: And here's a funny story.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: Never broke enough for war.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: They're not even discussing cutting spending anywhere else or raising taxes to pay for the war.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: And isn't it weird that we have unlimited money for war,
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: but never enough money for children, the sick, the elderly?
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: So weird.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: So weird.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: To the surprise of absolutely no one,
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: certainly not me,
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: the price of oil is going back up, which means the price of gas is going back up.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: You said it's back up to like $4 by you?
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: It's back up to like 389 by me.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: So good times.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: And that means inflation is going to start going back up.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: Like it kind of leveled out, went down a little bit.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: That's going to start going back up real fucking fast.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: And we would We're just a few weeks away
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: from draining our Strategic Petroleum Reserve to the bare minimum
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: the military says it needs.
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: On top of that,
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: we are severely damaging the physical infrastructure of the salt cave Oh,
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: so it's like an aquifer.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: Like you drain it too much and you get a sinkhole.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: Kind of.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: We're damaging that.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: And if we break them,
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: we're not going to be able to get too much of that oil at all
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: or what we get is going to be shitty.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: We have to stop at some point or we're just going to break it and we're not going
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: to be able to get to it at all.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: If we get to that physical limit or to the minimum,
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: the military is going to be like, hey,
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: you take any more of that, we're not going to be ready for a war if we get into one.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: Who knows, you know, the Republicans are going to scream bloody murder because national defense.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: Now, China is kind of doing the same thing.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: They're using their own reserves and they're cutting back on their oil.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: Again, we discussed this before the show.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: They're avoiding importing oil,
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: but it's not clear how much they have on hand
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: or how long they can keep their imports at a level.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: They've cut their imports by more than half.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: That's part of the reason there hasn't been a worse oil shortage because they're
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: the largest importer in the world.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: So they cut it by half.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: That leaves more for the rest of us.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: Their widespread of adoption of EVs
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: and renewables have made them far less disappointed on oil,
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: which I would think would be an object lesson for us,
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: the greatest country in the world.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: But Republicans are owned by the fossil fuel industry.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: So we're turning into a third world shithole instead of abandoning energy sources
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: that hold us hostage.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: Because they're making very cheap and allegedly reliable electric vehicles.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: If and when oil prices spike and inflation spirals out of control,
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: the bank and AI bubbles,
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: which we've been talking about for months, are going to pop.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: Republicans will wish for the carefree days of the 2008-2009 crash.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: And kiss those midterms, which are already a fucking disaster for Republicans, will become...
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: I can't even, there's not even words for what that's going to look like.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: But here we go,
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: because there's nothing Trump can do at this point to open the Strait of Hormuz,
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: no matter how.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: He says it's open for everybody, but it's not.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: So.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: So as he can say it all he wants,
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: oh my God,
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: we're going to go back to his whole bullshit thing about he's going
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: to start going back to manipulating the market, isn't he?
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: About how the straights open on one day and then two days later, oh no, everything's terrible.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: He's going to start manipulating the market again so his friends can make money.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: God, just fucking Christ.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: I forgot about that.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: It's been a couple of months since they were doing it.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: Yay.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: That's something to look forward to.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: All right, let's move on.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: It's time for Florida Woman's favorite segment, Headlines for Short Attention Spans.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: So Keg's breath once again interfered in the suspension of service members
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: because apparently there's no accountability when Pete Hegseth is in charge,
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: even though he's all about, what is it, meritocracy.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: I have to assume all of these people were white.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: Eight Apache helicopter pilots with
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: the South Carolina National Guard were suspended temporarily during
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: a safety investigation for flying too low during a beach flyover on July 4th.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: They went across several beaches like Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach.
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: And there's video of it.
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: They were very, very low, like hovering above the water low.
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: It was very low.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: So FAA rose.
- 26:13SPEAKER_01: Regulations require fixed-wing aircraft,
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: which a helicopter is not a fixed-wing aircraft,
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: to remain at least 500 feet above people,
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: structures, etc., or over open water, or in sparsely populated areas.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: Helicopters are allowed to fly low.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: If they do it safely and are on their flight path,
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: which I'm assuming this one was not, or that's why they were investigating.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: The military suspended them temporarily just to check it out.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: But Pete Hegseth decided to step in and on X,
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: of course,
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: because that's where the government communicates,
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: promised that he was going to fix it.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: And then shortly after, the pilots were cleared to fly.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: But was Kid Rock on one of the helicopters again?
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it's just like that, where they're like fly patriots.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: It's just like, guys, it's okay if they make a mistake.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: The military should be allowed to discipline them.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: I guarantee they're all white.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: I don't know what they look like, but look at the video.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: It's wild.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: The Department of Justice,
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: the Department of Injustice,
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: is targeting the New York fucking Times over reports about security Trump took
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: the luxury jet to the NATO summit in Turkey, but had to take an older model for
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: The Qatari jet is reportedly lacking anti-missile capabilities
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: and other protective features because Trump demanded-
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: That it be rushed because he wanted to start using it.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: He was tired of waiting and he wanted it right now, now, now, now, now.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: Me, me, me, me, me.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: I want my luxury jet because I want to fly like a fucking king, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: So it wasn't Done.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: The report embarrassed Trump.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: He allegedly demanded a probe to find out who leaked to the Times.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: The DOJ subpoenaed several journalists,
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: even hand-delivering some of them to their actual,
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: you know, either place of work or at home.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: And the reporters would be This is such a wild violation of the First Amendment.
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: I'm having a hard time seeing any fucking judge look at this and not saying,
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: get the fuck This is literally what the First Amendment exists for.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Screaming national security is not going to fucking cut it here.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: This is not a matter of national security.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: Just because a lack of preparation on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: You fucked up.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: It got reported to the media.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: That's a you problem, not an America problem.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: And now Hegseth has launched an investigation to find out who the leakers are.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: And, you know, not for nothing.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: They can do that, but they can't punish them for it.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: When they do, which they will, those people should absolutely fucking sue.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: It's like you because they're not the ones that put the country in danger.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: Trump.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: They let him fly on an Air Force One that was not finished was a huge fucking misjudgment.
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: That was a huge fucking lack of judgment.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: They're the ones that put him, the country, and granted, if he died, we'd be better off.
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: And now they're saying,
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: oh, you know, people were trying to kill him and that's why he had to switch jets.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: No, it's because, you know, maybe that's true.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: Well, even if it is true.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: But also, you're the one who got into the thing that wasn't ready.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, he's the president of the United States.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: You always assume someone's trying to kill him.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: Regardless of, you know, if he's Trump or not.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: Someone always wants to kill the president of the United States because it's
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: the president of the United States.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: Therefore, you do not use an unfinished Air Force One.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: The fact that they did is not the fault of the people who fucking reported on it.
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: It's the fault of the people who actually fucking did it.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: And they're the ones who should be held fucking accountable for that.
- 30:39SPEAKER_00: And that's how that goes.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: So fuck.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: So dozens of people in the U.S.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: have been hospitalized and at least 7000 have been sickened as the result of
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: a foodborne parasite.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: Yay.
- 30:53SPEAKER_00: In 2026, this is the world we fucking live in now.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: I got really dark all of a sudden.
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: There's an infection known as cyclosporiasis.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: Cyclosporiasis.
- 31:05SPEAKER_00: Sounds like a really bad version of dandruff.
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: Causing gastrointestinal issues, including watery diarrhea and explosive diarrhea.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: Please miss me with that.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: There's been a sharp rise in cases this year compared to last.
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: And guess what, guys?
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: Doge and RFK Jr.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: decided last year that they were going to stop monitoring the parasite that causes
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: the infection.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: The FoodNet program used to track this parasite and seven other foods.
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: Now it only monitors two of them.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: I'm pretty sure that we talked about this.
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: I don't think we named this one,
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: but we did talk about how they were monitoring eight foodborne pathogens and
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: then stopped last year when they decided to gut this part of the agency.
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: And now we're seeing the result of the Trump regime's incompetence.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: I really want Elon Musk and RFK Judy to get both of these and die from it.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: Kind of like dysentery.
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: Let them shit themselves to death.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: That would be so great.
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: Oh, man.
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: You're just, you know.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: It would be awesome.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: That would be a dream country.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: If you don't want to have explosive diarrhea, wash your fucking produce, including your herbs.
- 32:24SPEAKER_01: Cut off the damaged parts.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: Like if there's little soft parts where the pathogen might have been able to get
- 32:28SPEAKER_01: into, you want to cut those off.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: Buy whole heads of lettuce, not the prepackaged stuff.
- 32:34SPEAKER_00: And it's better if you cook it.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: Like washing it is not guaranteed.
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: Cooking it is far, far better.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: So we're all going to have to avoid salads for a minute,
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: which sucks because that's mostly what we eat here.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: As of Tuesday,
- 32:53SPEAKER_01: the CDC and FDA are looking really hard at Taco Bell as the source,
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: but we're still waiting for confirmation.
- 33:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: The jokes just write themselves there.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: I mean, why even, Bob?
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: Let us move on to Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: They're trying to build a resort on Albanian Island they purchased with investors.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: The land deal, this has been going on for weeks.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: The land deal has led to widespread protests in Albania.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: And there's been a host of jokes about Trump and Kushner trying
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: to create their own Epstein Island, which, you know, come on, they probably are.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: Prosecutors are now investigating whether the land deeds for the resort were forged,
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: which, I mean, come on, would anyone be fucking surprised?
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: They're also accusing Artur Shahu,
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: a Miami-based businessman who transferred the land to the Kushner-backed entity,
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: of using the Albanian property sale to launder cocaine proceeds,
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: which, I mean, come on.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: The Kushners and the Trumps, this has been like a thing.
- 33:57SPEAKER_00: They've been using their properties to launder illegal, like launder money for decades.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: Allegedly.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: Don't sue us.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: I'd like to have the Trumps sue and do discovery because,
- 34:12SPEAKER_00: Jesus Christ, there's so much Russian money going through the Trump properties.
- 34:17SPEAKER_00: Good luck doing discovery.
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: They would never want to do that because it would be a disaster.
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: I guess we know where RFK Jr. is getting his toilet seat cocaine from.
- 34:29SPEAKER_00: He just has to walk into a Trump bathroom and it's right there.
- 34:31SPEAKER_00: So anyway,
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: locals have been fighting Shahoo over his alleged rights to the property for
- 34:36SPEAKER_00: a decade.
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: Several villagers have provided title deeds and tax records to reporters
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: that indicate they own the property.
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: And residents are now asking the courts to stop the development project.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: This is just absolutely typical, right?
- 34:49SPEAKER_00: Everything they do,
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: everything the Trumps and Kushners do is just,
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: there's just corruption and corruption and corruption all over the place from top
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: to bottom.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: They're just stupid.
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:25SPEAKER_01: So while your gas prices are skyrocketing and the cost of groceries is up
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: and everything else costs more money,
- 35:33SPEAKER_01: Congress has decided what's really important is the WNBA.
- 35:37SPEAKER_00: Oh, for sure.
- 35:39SPEAKER_01: They are now wasting our time and money investigating the league
- 35:42SPEAKER_01: for like reverse racism or something.
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: If you pay attention to sports at all,
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: then you know that Republicans have suddenly started watching the WNBA because
- 35:51SPEAKER_01: of Caitlin Clark.
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: They've turned the white industry She's an athlete.
- 35:54SPEAKER_01: She's allowed to do that.
- 35:55SPEAKER_01: She's allowed to do that.
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: And she is very good.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: Her skills and her shit-talking have made her opponents play more aggressively
- 36:16SPEAKER_01: when trying to block her.
- 36:18SPEAKER_01: And I will say that some of it is,
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: you know, just, you know, they shouldn't be hitting her that hard.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: But it's not unusual or unprecedented.
- 36:28SPEAKER_01: She's not the only player in the history of sports ball to be checked on the court,
- 36:32SPEAKER_01: gridiron, or pitch.
- 36:34SPEAKER_01: I mean, we're watching the World Cup right now.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: We're seeing it.
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: And it has nothing to do with the fact that she's white.
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: It doesn't.
- 36:39SPEAKER_01: It has to do with a lot of shit.
- 36:41SPEAKER_01: And she's good.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: It has more to do with the fact that she's good.
- 36:44SPEAKER_01: Don't tell Republicans in the House that,
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: though, because they really think that she's being discriminated against.
- 36:50SPEAKER_01: The WHO NBA Commissioner Kathy Engelbert received a letter from
- 36:55SPEAKER_01: the House Republican Study Committee demanding answers about how
- 36:59SPEAKER_01: the league is protecting Clark.
- 37:01SPEAKER_01: Clark, guys.
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: Not any of the other players.
- 37:03SPEAKER_01: Just Clark.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: The Congressional Committee wants the DOJ to investigate the league
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: for discrimination in creating a hostile work environment for Clark.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: Like, okay.
- 37:13SPEAKER_01: So, are we going to investigate every time an athlete gets hurt on the field?
- 37:17SPEAKER_01: No.
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: Only if they're white and only if the other people doing it are black.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 37:21SPEAKER_01: And that's exactly what it is.
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: And they really have tried to make this a race war in the WNBA, which is fucking crazy.
- 37:31SPEAKER_01: They probably only know the name of her.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, we got to remember that's that was the Republicans and the right
- 37:37SPEAKER_00: in general don't give a shit about women unless they can use it
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: to further their culture war stuff.
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: That's what that's what the whole trans athletes thing is about.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: They don't give a shit about women's sports or girls sports until it was we have
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: to defend girls from trans athletes, all 20 of them.
- 37:57SPEAKER_00: That's all it was.
- 37:58SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 37:58SPEAKER_00: It's like all of a sudden it's like, oh, I'll die if I can't protect women.
- 38:03SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 38:04SPEAKER_00: Are you going to protect women from bleeding to death in a hospital parking lot?
- 38:07SPEAKER_00: No, I don't give a fuck about them.
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: I give a shit about the 30 girls in the entire...
- 38:15SPEAKER_00: The entire United States with a couple, you know, tens of millions of girls playing sports.
- 38:20SPEAKER_00: There's 20 trans girls who want to play sports.
- 38:23SPEAKER_00: And I have to protect all those other girls,
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: but not the women bleeding to death in parking lots because I don't give a shit
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: about that.
- 38:29SPEAKER_00: But I believe women.
- 38:31SPEAKER_00: I trust women.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: I have to protect women.
- 38:33SPEAKER_01: Could you imagine if Republicans lost or launched an investigation every single time
- 38:38SPEAKER_01: a white football player was checked on the field?
- 38:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 38:41SPEAKER_00: I mean, honestly, I'm surprised they haven't gone to that yet.
- 38:45SPEAKER_00: It's just all white victimization.
- 38:47SPEAKER_00: It's just white victimization.
- 38:49SPEAKER_00: They have to nail themselves, nail themselves to a cross.
- 38:53SPEAKER_00: It's like everything is just about how they're being victimized.
- 38:56SPEAKER_00: Victimized, victimized, victimized, victimized.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 38:58SPEAKER_01: Our listener, Thierry, points out they hate black women more than anything.
- 39:02SPEAKER_01: Well, there is a reason why Tupac said that black women are the most hated people in the world.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, really, it just combines two of the things they hate.
- 39:10SPEAKER_00: They hate women and they hate black people.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: Black women, they are the most loathed by Republicans.
- 39:16SPEAKER_00: All right, let's move on.
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: The New York State has put a one-year stop to all data centers being built.
- 39:24SPEAKER_01: Oof, that's interesting because there was a big one that they were looking to build
- 39:28SPEAKER_01: in Niagara Falls over by the casino.
- 39:31SPEAKER_00: Not anymore.
- 39:32SPEAKER_00: Reuters reports,
- 39:34SPEAKER_00: the moratorium positions New York at the forefront of a growing national debate
- 39:37SPEAKER_00: over how to manage the infrastructure needed to support artificial intelligence.
- 39:41SPEAKER_00: While technology companies are racing to build new data centers,
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: lawmakers and regulators in dozens of states are weighing measures
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: to limit their effect on electricity grids, utility bills, and local communities.
- 39:53SPEAKER_00: No one who isn't a billionaire wants these fucking monstrosities.
- 39:58SPEAKER_00: And this is bipartisan hate.
- 40:00SPEAKER_00: No one likes AI.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: Everyone hates data centers.
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: Both are wildly unpopular across the political spectrum.
- 40:09SPEAKER_00: We hate them.
- 40:10SPEAKER_00: Republicans hate them.
- 40:11SPEAKER_00: It wouldn't be so bad if AI worked as advertised, but it doesn't.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: Add that to the massive negative impact on communities,
- 40:20SPEAKER_00: power and water bills, and billionaires I promise you, that's going to happen.
- 40:25SPEAKER_00: When the AI bubble pops and
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: And the economy goes kaboom and everyone looks at AI data centers and say,
- 40:43SPEAKER_00: you fucking did that?
- 40:44SPEAKER_00: I guarantee you people are going to start burning them to the fucking ground
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: because they're a huge static target.
- 40:51SPEAKER_00: You can't move them.
- 40:53SPEAKER_00: And they're so large,
- 40:55SPEAKER_00: it's gonna be hard to protect them properly and people are gonna burn them to
- 40:57SPEAKER_00: the fucking ground.
- 40:59SPEAKER_00: Now, it should be noted, these data centers are never built near wealthy community.
- 41:04SPEAKER_00: They always find their way towards poor communities.
- 41:08SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure if I'm not sure if I can.
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: It would be fine if the data centers were only impacting Black people, but they're not.
- 41:29SPEAKER_00: This is going to be a thing that's going to keep spreading through both parties
- 41:35SPEAKER_00: because it's just good politics for both of them.
- 41:38SPEAKER_00: Nobody likes data centers.
- 41:40SPEAKER_01: Deadline reports that Democratic AGs in 12 states,
- 41:44SPEAKER_01: including California,
- 41:45SPEAKER_01: the 500-pound gorilla of states,
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: are suing to block the obviously illegal merger-slash-hostile takeover
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: of Warner Brothers by MAGA Republican-owned Paramount.
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: We talked about this earlier this year when Netflix dropped out of the— Yeah,
- 42:02SPEAKER_01: that was
- 42:03SPEAKER_00: unfortunate.
- 42:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so that Paramount could own yet another brand.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: The AGs are suing over concerns of monopoly and damage to competition in theaters
- 42:14SPEAKER_01: and on cable TV as well as lost jobs.
- 42:16SPEAKER_01: We all know this is more about a rabid.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, it's going great.
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: And somehow, it's weird.
- 42:22SPEAKER_01: I keep hearing two things.
- 42:23SPEAKER_01: Either Barry Weiss is getting fired or she's getting promoted.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: I don't know which is happening yet.
- 42:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, who knows?
- 42:46SPEAKER_01: This kind of media consolidation is what authoritarian governments do,
- 42:50SPEAKER_01: and the propaganda is endless,
- 42:52SPEAKER_01: but the AGs can't say that in court,
- 42:54SPEAKER_01: so they're using an antitrust lawsuit,
- 42:58SPEAKER_01: which is, I do want to point out, this is what they did in Turkey, right?
- 43:02SPEAKER_01: Where he just took over all of the media organizations.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: Same thing in Hungary.
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: Or Hungary, that's what I meant, Hungary, not Turkey.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: I think they did the same thing in Turkey, though.
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 43:13SPEAKER_01: But for sure they did it in Hungary.
- 43:15SPEAKER_01: And Russia.
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: And Russia.
- 43:17SPEAKER_01: And all of the places.
- 43:21SPEAKER_01: Everyone is always demanding that Democrats do something.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: And this is what that looks like.
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: As Rachel Maddow always says, watch this space.
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: We're definitely going to have to get back to this one.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: We'll be touching back on this story.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: I really hope that they succeed,
- 43:35SPEAKER_01: even though my self-care of the week is going to mention a Paramount show.
- 43:40SPEAKER_01: I'm so sorry, guys.
- 43:43SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 43:45SPEAKER_01: Anyway, on to self-care of the week.
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: The World Cup is still going on, so I have been in it.
- 43:51SPEAKER_01: I am in it.
- 43:53SPEAKER_01: That's Pickle
- 43:54SPEAKER_00: Bowl, right?
- 43:55SPEAKER_00: World Cup for Pickle Bowl?
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: As I mentioned last week, football's not on, so football it is.
- 44:04SPEAKER_01: Yesterday, Spain beat France.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: It was, you know, I guess not too shocking.
- 44:10SPEAKER_01: They're the two best teams right now,
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: even though Argentina is the defending champion of the World Cup.
- 44:16SPEAKER_01: But still, Spain and France are really good teams.
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: So we all thought that France was going to go to the final.
- 44:22SPEAKER_01: But I was very happy that it's going to be Spain and Lamin-Yemal, who is a knight.
- 44:27SPEAKER_01: He just turned 19 and he's going to be in his first World Cup final.
- 44:31SPEAKER_01: So that's pretty cool.
- 44:33SPEAKER_01: Today, Wednesday, Argentina is facing England.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: I am an Argentina stan.
- 44:40SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of hate for Argentina on TikTok, which is so silly.
- 44:45SPEAKER_00: Don't cry.
- 44:48SPEAKER_01: Suddenly,
- 44:48SPEAKER_01: like TikTok has decided that Messi is being helped by the refs,
- 44:53SPEAKER_01: which is funny because Messi chased a World Cup for like three decades
- 44:57SPEAKER_01: or however long he was in soccer for.
- 44:59SPEAKER_01: And then he only got his first World Cup four years ago.
- 45:02SPEAKER_01: So the idea that he's suddenly being helped by FIFA is hilarious.
- 45:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:08SPEAKER_01: Like, if that were true,
- 45:10SPEAKER_01: believe me, they would have given him a World Cup before, but whatever.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: So Argentina is facing England.
- 45:16SPEAKER_01: I hope that they stomp on England, but who knows?
- 45:19SPEAKER_01: They're two really, really good teams, so I don't know what's going to happen.
- 45:22SPEAKER_01: And then Sunday is the World Cup final,
- 45:25SPEAKER_01: and I'm going to go watch it with my oldest son, which is going to be fun.
- 45:28SPEAKER_01: We're going to buy dinner and enjoy the game.
- 45:31SPEAKER_01: What are you going to do
- 45:31SPEAKER_00: after that?
- 45:32SPEAKER_01: God.
- 45:34SPEAKER_00: It's just going to be a wasteland of no sports for you.
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: It's so crazy that I've become this person.
- 45:41SPEAKER_01: So this is what happens when you have men who love sports in your life.
- 45:45SPEAKER_01: You just get in it.
- 45:47SPEAKER_01: You have to have something to talk to your kid about.
- 45:48SPEAKER_01: So you're like, I guess I'm a soccer fan now.
- 45:52SPEAKER_01: The other thing that I've been watching this week is the Dutton Ranch,
- 45:54SPEAKER_01: which is a spinoff of Yellowstone, and it has Beth and Rip.
- 45:58SPEAKER_01: It's actually very good.
- 46:00SPEAKER_01: So after Yellowstone ended, there was two shows, two spinoffs from that, which...
- 46:07SPEAKER_01: There's other spinoffs of Yellowstone, but these were the ones with the modern cast.
- 46:11SPEAKER_01: So the first one was Marshalls, which, don't get me wrong, was good, but it kind of lacked.
- 46:15SPEAKER_01: It was more like just a regular police thing, and it kind of lacked the Yellowstone vibe.
- 46:21SPEAKER_01: But the Dutton Ranch is all like Yellowstone.
- 46:23SPEAKER_01: It's very good.
- 46:24SPEAKER_00: I'm sure Mrs. Ogre will get to it.
- 46:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I actually think that you would like Yellowstone, because you liked Lioness.
- 46:32SPEAKER_00: I did, and season three is coming, so I have to go back and watch seasons one and two again.
- 46:36SPEAKER_01: Yes, I do the same thing.
- 46:38SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 46:40SPEAKER_00: So my self-care of the week.
- 46:42SPEAKER_00: So on the insistent demand of Lawrence Whitteman of the Daily Whatever Show,
- 46:47SPEAKER_00: I got my hands for my birthday and for Father's Day.
- 46:50SPEAKER_00: I got the first two books of Dungeon Crawler Carl.
- 46:55SPEAKER_00: It's, how do you explain Dungeon Crawler Carl?
- 46:59SPEAKER_00: It's a sci-fi fantasy, sort of.
- 47:03SPEAKER_00: Basically, Earth is invaded by aliens or it's taken over by aliens.
- 47:08SPEAKER_00: Most of the population is killed, like, instantly.
- 47:12SPEAKER_00: And millions of people are placed in a dungeon.
- 47:17SPEAKER_00: Essentially, a fantasy dungeon.
- 47:19SPEAKER_00: It's all science fiction, but,
- 47:21SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 47:22SPEAKER_00: you've heard the phrase, well,
- 47:23SPEAKER_00: you probably haven't because you don't know science fiction,
- 47:25SPEAKER_00: but Arthur C. Clarke had written once that any...
- 47:32SPEAKER_00: Science or any technology sufficiently advanced is indistinguishable from magic.
- 47:37SPEAKER_00: So the technology is so advanced that it's effectively they're living in a magic dungeon.
- 47:47SPEAKER_00: It's literally just Dungeons & Dragons for them.
- 47:50SPEAKER_00: And it's indistinguishable.
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: They can't tell the difference.
- 47:53SPEAKER_00: It's all technology.
- 47:54SPEAKER_00: It's like being in a fantasy video game with menus and everything.
- 48:00SPEAKER_00: And it's just...
- 48:02SPEAKER_00: Just like being in a video game, except if you die, you die.
- 48:06SPEAKER_00: And they have to go through 18 levels of this dungeon.
- 48:10SPEAKER_00: And it gets increasingly harder.
- 48:12SPEAKER_00: And most of the people, like no one's ever made it past the 11th level of a dungeon.
- 48:17SPEAKER_00: And they do this to planets all over the galaxy.
- 48:20SPEAKER_00: Earth is just the most recent one.
- 48:23SPEAKER_00: And you're following the character, the title character, Carl and his cat.
- 48:28SPEAKER_00: And it's really funny.
- 48:31SPEAKER_00: It's very, very funny.
- 48:32SPEAKER_00: And it's really, really interesting.
- 48:34SPEAKER_00: And I'm like absolutely enjoying the shit out of it.
- 48:39SPEAKER_00: I just started reading it two days ago.
- 48:41SPEAKER_00: Like I've only I've only had two chances to sit down and read it for like an hour apiece.
- 48:44SPEAKER_00: And I'm already like page 140.
- 48:45SPEAKER_00: So.
- 48:47SPEAKER_00: So there's eight books so far, and I'm very happy.
- 48:51SPEAKER_00: There's going to be a whole bunch more.
- 48:52SPEAKER_00: I don't know how many he's planning, the author's planning to write.
- 48:55SPEAKER_00: But there's also a TV series that's been greenlit.
- 49:00SPEAKER_00: It's being done by Seth MacFarlane,
- 49:01SPEAKER_00: which is amazing because he's the guy who did, what do you call it?
- 49:07SPEAKER_00: What the hell is the name of the show?
- 49:09SPEAKER_00: It's like a Star Trek show, but it's not Star Trek.
- 49:11SPEAKER_00: Oh my God, I can't believe I forgot the name of the show.
- 49:13SPEAKER_00: Sigh.
- 49:14SPEAKER_00: It had three seasons and it got canceled.
- 49:17SPEAKER_00: Well, not canceled, but they just never went back to do it.
- 49:19SPEAKER_00: And it's an amazing series.
- 49:20SPEAKER_00: It's like the best Star Trek show that's not Star Trek.
- 49:23SPEAKER_00: But it's... Steph McFarlane does... Everything he does is amazing.
- 49:27SPEAKER_00: So when he does this, it's going to be incredible.
- 49:31SPEAKER_00: And I'm super, super excited this is happening.
- 49:34SPEAKER_00: It has been a minute since I read a book for fun.
- 49:36SPEAKER_00: So...
- 49:38SPEAKER_01: So Seth MacFarlane, isn't he the creator of Family Guy in American Dad?
- 49:42SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: That guy.
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: Same one.
- 49:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 49:45SPEAKER_00: I like his stuff.
- 49:46SPEAKER_00: And he's done a bunch of live action stuff, too.
- 49:49SPEAKER_00: And it's just he's fantastic.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: And he really knows.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: So, it's going to be incredible.
- 50:08SPEAKER_00: And I'm very, very much looking forward to this series.
- 50:12SPEAKER_00: And I have to keep reading books before it comes out.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: So also this past Saturday,
- 50:18SPEAKER_00: we talked about it last week,
- 50:19SPEAKER_00: but June and Lila did not come to see the Rocky Horror Picture.
- 50:22SPEAKER_00: They want to watch a show with us.
- 50:23SPEAKER_00: They want to go do fireworks.
- 50:25SPEAKER_00: They want to go watch fireworks with their friends in Alexandria
- 50:28SPEAKER_00: because they're going away to college in a month and this is going to be
- 50:30SPEAKER_00: the last chance to hang out with their friends for a long time.
- 50:33SPEAKER_00: So I took Lillian and Anastasia.
- 50:38SPEAKER_00: But they hadn't seen it with a live shadow cast,
- 50:42SPEAKER_00: which is a bunch of people who just act out the entire movie.
- 50:46SPEAKER_00: And it was amazing.
- 50:47SPEAKER_00: They had a great time and it was so much fun.
- 50:52SPEAKER_00: It was an enormously great time.
- 50:55SPEAKER_00: It was hilarious.
- 50:56SPEAKER_00: And we're probably going to start making that like a regular thing.
- 50:59SPEAKER_00: Like every six months,
- 51:00SPEAKER_00: we're going to keep going back because it's something you have to do repeatedly
- 51:04SPEAKER_00: so you can just learn all the lines and scream them out, which is half the fun.
- 51:09SPEAKER_00: So, yes, it's definitely a show that you take your kids to.
- 51:14SPEAKER_01: So sports for me and nerd stuff for you seems typical.
- 51:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't know that Rocky Horror is considered nerd stuff.
- 51:22SPEAKER_00: No, I was talking about the book, not the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
- 51:26SPEAKER_00: Lots of people like that.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 51:29SPEAKER_00: That is it for today's show.
