- 0:05Speaker 1: Drama, Darling.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Drama, Darling.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Drama, Darling.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Welcome in October first, Darlings, Emily, Can you believe it's
- 0:23Speaker 2: October first already?
- 0:25Speaker 1: No? I cannot. That is crazy.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Are the leaves changing over in Maryland? That's what I
- 0:31Speaker 2: need to know.
- 0:32Speaker 3: No, nothing changes on the East Coast for another week
- 0:36Speaker 3: or two, I think, sure about fair enough, somewhere between
- 0:41Speaker 3: the end of October and early November.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Of course, you're New England.
- 0:46Speaker 3: I'm not going to say the entire East coast right right,
- 0:49Speaker 3: some things are changing.
- 0:51Speaker 2: You know, things are swinging and ringing, and Emily's just
- 0:55Speaker 2: there basically for a little She's not an la right now,
- 1:00Speaker 2: is what I'm trying to say.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I'm not right, that's correct.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Off, you're back watching you days a few days, so exciting.
- 1:09Speaker 2: If you're watching this on Patreon, and if you're not,
- 1:11Speaker 2: by the way, you can patreon dot com slash Drama Darling.
- 1:14Speaker 2: You can get videos over there of the recaps, and
- 1:16Speaker 2: you can also get ad free uh and Monday, Wednesday
- 1:20Speaker 2: and Friday recaps. But over my shoulder, if you can
- 1:23Speaker 2: see it, is a pink pumpkin that we picked up
- 1:27Speaker 2: over at Michael's this weekend. When we were Hallow's Eve
- 1:30Speaker 2: shopping for our.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Home Pink Pumpkin Club.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Club.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Yes, I love that song so much so and Brett's
- 1:40Speaker 2: going to he's going to draw on it. He's going
- 1:43Speaker 2: to draw like the Drama Darling logo, which I'm excited
- 1:46Speaker 2: about because you know, they're doing this these days with
- 1:48Speaker 2: the pumpkins. They're somehow they're made of this material that
- 1:52Speaker 2: you can carve into, so it's good for uh, you know,
- 1:58Speaker 2: very hot area like California, so your pumpkins don't rot
- 2:04Speaker 2: after two days of carving. So now people are doing
- 2:08Speaker 2: this and they just last the whole season. I mean,
- 2:10Speaker 2: you still want to get a regular pumpkin.
- 2:12Speaker 4: I mean, who are we kidding? You know, what are
- 2:13Speaker 4: we animals? But anyway, that's what this is. So that's interesting.
- 2:19Speaker 2: So today we're going to be talking about the Secret
- 2:22Speaker 2: Lives of Mormon Wives episodes.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Five and six.
- 2:26Speaker 2: And by the way, next week we're going to finish
- 2:30Speaker 2: the series and your bish therapist is going to be
- 2:33Speaker 2: joining me for episode seven and eight. Great, so that'll
- 2:40Speaker 2: be really fun. And also after we talk about the
- 2:43Speaker 2: Mormon Wives, we're gonna dip our toes into the Great
- 2:46Speaker 2: British bakeoff. Why would we not? And it's my first
- 2:50Speaker 2: foray at it, which is very exciting.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I can't wait to hear your thoughts on that.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yes, indeed, yes, indeed, before we get into our recap,
- 3:03Speaker 2: I do have let me pull it up on my phone.
- 3:06Speaker 2: This happened over the weekend. I'm just scrolling through my phone.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I have to go past a lot of the pictures
- 3:12Speaker 2: that were taking this weekend. But also this morning, Mattie
- 3:15Speaker 2: took my phone and I was getting ready and she
- 3:18Speaker 2: was eating breakfast. And I got my phone later and
- 3:21Speaker 2: I discovered that she recorded all seventeen minutes of her
- 3:24Speaker 2: eating her breakfast while watching her iPad. And it's riveting material,
- 3:32Speaker 2: absolutely riveting, And I was like, I hope you were
- 3:35Speaker 2: chewing with your mouth closed, and sure enough, not so much.
- 3:38Speaker 2: So there's just a lot a lot of that very
- 3:41Speaker 2: funny on my phone. Okay, So over the weekend, I
- 3:46Speaker 2: suppose this is our dish for today.
- 3:48Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, let's just take.
- 3:49Speaker 1: It a dish.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, serving dish. So over the weekend, we have
- 4:02Speaker 2: a feud between Joel Kim Booster and Shannon storms Badore.
- 4:07Speaker 2: It seems that it's one sided based on the fact
- 4:10Speaker 2: that Shannon has not responded to Joel Kim Booster's post,
- 4:15Speaker 2: but it really set wildfire to the Bravo verse quite quickly,
- 4:20Speaker 2: and so apparently he went on his Instagram and did
- 4:24Speaker 2: a story, but he also did a live apparently and
- 4:27Speaker 2: he was basically reading Shannon for filth. So he is
- 4:32Speaker 2: the upcoming host of the Housewives Hotel, which is a
- 4:38Speaker 2: peacock show that is associated with Bravo where these housewives
- 4:43Speaker 2: are looking for love. It features some of these housewives.
- 4:46Speaker 2: We have Luandella SEPs, Giselle Bryant, Ashley Darby, and Shannon
- 4:52Speaker 2: Storm's Badore. It's four of them and Joel Kim Booster
- 4:56Speaker 2: is the host of this. We did see like a
- 4:58Speaker 2: backshot of them or like a video someone i think
- 5:02Speaker 2: submitted to dumin or something or you know, Bravo and cocktails,
- 5:06Speaker 2: and it was like you could see the island and
- 5:08Speaker 2: all the camera people and we could hear Luanne in
- 5:10Speaker 2: the background.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Being like stor.
- 5:13Speaker 2: You know so, but we definitely didn't know that Jill
- 5:16Speaker 2: Kim Booster was the host of this, which, you know,
- 5:19Speaker 2: finding that out was very exciting because he's a huge
- 5:21Speaker 2: Housewives fan. He's extremely funny if you know his work,
- 5:25Speaker 2: and most importantly Housewives fan, so over the weekend he
- 5:30Speaker 2: posted this, Just because you're a pathetic drunk on a
- 5:35Speaker 2: reality television show best known for a string of failed
- 5:39Speaker 2: relationships and a dui does not make you a star
- 5:42Speaker 2: and does not give you license to treat the people
- 5:45Speaker 2: you work with like they are sub human.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Period.
- 5:48Speaker 2: They will make me delete this, but DM me if
- 5:51Speaker 2: you'd like to see some videos besos And then the
- 5:55Speaker 2: next screenshot is, well, that was quick anyway, don't regret it.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Hope you screenshot it. Hope she suffers. And by the way,
- 6:06Speaker 2: I also want to mention that Bravo Historian is the
- 6:09Speaker 2: one that got this information and put it out there
- 6:12Speaker 2: to the ravoverse. I believe that that's where it came from.
- 6:16Speaker 2: This is the Bravo breaking news message that somebody sent
- 6:22Speaker 2: I think to yeah, Bravo Historian, and this person said,
- 6:26Speaker 2: I had no idea Joel Kim Booster was hosting Housewife
- 6:30Speaker 2: Hotel or whatever it's called. He just went on alive
- 6:33Speaker 2: and cooked Shannon Badore like he roasted her, chopped her
- 6:36Speaker 2: and served her up for breakfast. Said she has been
- 6:39Speaker 2: a terror for the entire three weeks humiliates the crew
- 6:44Speaker 2: was hideous to him, and that at the rap party
- 6:47Speaker 2: just a few hours ago, she was terrible to someone
- 6:50Speaker 2: he really loves, and he got in her face and
- 6:53Speaker 2: said like something along lines of you think you're a star.
- 6:57Speaker 4: People don't like you. They pity you. He said.
- 7:01Speaker 2: The daughters are just as bad. So that is the
- 7:05Speaker 2: news out there now it's obviously wrapped. It's interesting that
- 7:10Speaker 2: they aren't in each other's presence anymore, so it's not
- 7:13Speaker 2: like she can go over to him and talk to
- 7:16Speaker 2: him or anything like that. Let's discuss his reaction to
- 7:21Speaker 2: this and what he posted. I'll share my side, and
- 7:24Speaker 2: then Emily, I'd like to hear yours. First off, it
- 7:28Speaker 2: was kind of like the very exciting tea.
- 7:31Speaker 4: I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 7:33Speaker 2: You know, this is a tremendous tea spill, and I
- 7:37Speaker 2: wanted to hear more about the details. Then I, you know,
- 7:40Speaker 2: went to the next slide and I saw that he
- 7:42Speaker 2: said I hope she suffers, and I got like Louis
- 7:45Speaker 2: vibes from that, you know, because isn't that what Louie
- 7:48Speaker 2: said about Margaret Joseph's.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Yeah, wha? He suffers.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, So I felt they crossed the line there.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I also felt like, boy, is he a Housewives fan
- 8:00Speaker 2: at all? Did he not know going into this that
- 8:02Speaker 2: these are horrible people for one and certainly when it
- 8:08Speaker 2: gets personal is where that's a tough situation. So clearly
- 8:13Speaker 2: and he was working with her, he was working with them. Wow,
- 8:17Speaker 2: he really went for it and really put his stuff
- 8:22Speaker 2: out there like a housewife, would you know. I was
- 8:25Speaker 2: just like, wow, he has enveloped himself. Maybe being secluded
- 8:30Speaker 2: on an island with housewives that are full of drama
- 8:33Speaker 2: got to him and he snapped and is now full
- 8:36Speaker 2: on crossed over to the housewives side, because that's kind
- 8:39Speaker 2: of like what one would do. Seems below the belt
- 8:44Speaker 2: to say I hope she suffers. I thought that was
- 8:46Speaker 2: like way too much not knowing the story. And here's
- 8:50Speaker 2: where I have to say, like, in my experience with Shannon,
- 8:53Speaker 2: and I have worked with her on a professional level,
- 8:56Speaker 2: I've worked with her on a show before, I've worked
- 8:59Speaker 2: with her in interviews, I've worked with her at Bravo Khan,
- 9:02Speaker 2: I've worked with her. I've never had a bad experience
- 9:06Speaker 2: with her, and I've never seen this side of her
- 9:08Speaker 2: what he's saying. So that being said, I cannot say, oh, well,
- 9:12Speaker 2: that checks out. You know, I could also, but I
- 9:15Speaker 2: could say that about plenty of other housewives I've met,
- 9:19Speaker 2: where I'd say, oh, yeah, that sounds about right, but
- 9:22Speaker 2: not about Shannon, not about what I've personally experienced with her.
- 9:27Speaker 2: So that being said, it was shocking to me to
- 9:31Speaker 2: hear this, and then the other I mean shocking to
- 9:34Speaker 2: me because I feel like I've kind of gotten to
- 9:37Speaker 2: know her, but obviously you don't really know somebody all
- 9:40Speaker 2: the time. And then on the other hand, not shocking
- 9:43Speaker 2: because these are housewives you're dealing with first and foremost. Now,
- 9:47Speaker 2: the last thing I'll say is I wasn't there. No
- 9:50Speaker 2: one was there, so we really don't know what happened.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Is it possible that she did or said something that
- 9:57Speaker 2: was truly horrific? Absolutely, any things possible, But without hearing
- 10:03Speaker 2: what happened, it's very difficult to take his side and
- 10:08Speaker 2: say what you did was right, like, you know, serve
- 10:12Speaker 2: her up. I just thought that was a weird choice,
- 10:15Speaker 2: especially as the host of that show, unless we find
- 10:19Speaker 2: out later that you know, she said some homophobic or
- 10:22Speaker 2: racist slur to someone's face or you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 10:26Speaker 2: that's where you need to know the details and what
- 10:28Speaker 2: we're talking about here, because like, yeah, well, if something
- 10:32Speaker 2: like that, like the worst possible scenario, which is what
- 10:35Speaker 2: I just said, if that happened, I can understand why
- 10:38Speaker 2: he would be outraged and want to say something and
- 10:42Speaker 2: not tell the details. But if it isn't like that,
- 10:46Speaker 2: I'm not sure what the purpose and the point of
- 10:48Speaker 2: it is. What's gonna happen with this show? And people
- 10:51Speaker 2: are are they gonna want to watch more? Are they gonna?
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 10:54Speaker 2: I don't think that he did this as a PR
- 10:56Speaker 2: stunt where he was like, I'm gonna do this because
- 10:59Speaker 2: I'm gonna go full housewife and this will be the
- 11:02Speaker 2: best thing. I don't think that he would be premeditated
- 11:05Speaker 2: to do something like that. So what are your thoughts, Emily?
- 11:09Speaker 3: I think it was maybe a rookie mistake on his end,
- 11:14Speaker 3: because I do well. I also want to say, Amy,
- 11:18Speaker 3: I don't think the Housewives are horrible.
- 11:20Speaker 1: People just want to say that.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Okay, but uh, because that you did say that, and
- 11:27Speaker 3: I just want to say.
- 11:28Speaker 4: That it's capetuating a stereotype.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Perhaps perhaps I don't want, uh.
- 11:35Speaker 3: But anyway, I think that there's two things going on.
- 11:39Speaker 3: I think he hasn't hosted a show before. I think
- 11:42Speaker 3: it was probably way more stressful than he thought it
- 11:46Speaker 3: would be, and probably more stressful than.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Shannon thought it would be.
- 11:50Speaker 3: It's a brand new show, nobody kind of knew what
- 11:53Speaker 3: was going on, probably and it was confusing on top
- 11:57Speaker 3: of an expectation to be crazy energy all around to
- 12:04Speaker 3: keep the momentum of the show going. So I don't
- 12:09Speaker 3: know what that work environment.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Was like, but right not good.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I know I would be pretty stressful for everyone, including
- 12:18Speaker 3: Shannon to maintain that, but also the crew like to
- 12:22Speaker 3: work with it. So I just I don't to your point,
- 12:27Speaker 3: like until we really know then I don't want to
- 12:31Speaker 3: say like one side or the other, but I I
- 12:36Speaker 3: guess I was kind of thinking, like Buddy, like, come on,
- 12:40Speaker 3: this is I don't know what exactly happened, but like,
- 12:44Speaker 3: why are you going so.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Hard on Shannon right out of the gate, Like maybe
- 12:50Speaker 1: sleep on it? But yeah, I don't know. I'll have
- 12:54Speaker 1: to see.
- 12:55Speaker 4: I guess we'll have to watch and see.
- 12:58Speaker 3: I do think, by the way, if if it was
- 13:00Speaker 3: that bad, I think he would have said something. I mean,
- 13:04Speaker 3: he wasn't holding back that much anyway.
- 13:08Speaker 1: To me, it's like.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Either name it or don't keep it so vague as
- 13:13Speaker 3: we're learning from.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Chimbolino's attorney, you know.
- 13:17Speaker 3: And to your point, I've seen some of the wives
- 13:21Speaker 3: and they are exactly who they.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Are on their show.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah, there are most intense rage moments and it
- 13:32Speaker 3: is confusing to people that don't know what is happening.
- 13:39Speaker 3: So I can't But to me, Shannon doesn't seem like
- 13:42Speaker 3: one of those people. I just yeah, I'm so did
- 13:47Speaker 3: any I guess, like, did anybody see the video that
- 13:50Speaker 3: he's saying DM me?
- 13:52Speaker 2: And I'll I know, because if he's got video, I mean,
- 13:56Speaker 2: it's like, oh. And then the other thing he said
- 13:57Speaker 2: I almost forgot to mention this in one of his slides,
- 14:00Speaker 2: was like, I can't imagine what John Jansen went through.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Well, that was the thing that I was like, Oh, oh,
- 14:06Speaker 3: this must be bad, you know.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I mean, but but one of the things that I
- 14:13Speaker 2: thought was kind of funny is that if people didn't
- 14:16Speaker 2: post Shannon's picture alongside of of Joel Kim Booster's photo,
- 14:23Speaker 2: I never would have been able to identify who he's
- 14:25Speaker 2: talking about because from his post, it says, just because
- 14:29Speaker 2: you're a pathetic drunk on a reality television show best
- 14:32Speaker 2: known for a string of failed relationships and a dui.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I was like, and that narrows it down to, like,
- 14:38Speaker 2: how am I supposed to? You know?
- 14:40Speaker 4: So I was like, that's a lot. Who are we
- 14:42Speaker 4: talking about?
- 14:45Speaker 2: So I'm glad that they were pretty specific because it
- 14:48Speaker 2: could have been anyone in that well not Giselle, but.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I don't know, no, yeah, I mean not in that.
- 14:54Speaker 4: It could have been Luanne or Shannon.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Like that's true, that is true.
- 14:59Speaker 2: So one of his talking about Luanne this whole time, Now,
- 15:05Speaker 2: I would god to believe actually both see That's where
- 15:07Speaker 2: I'm like, if he was talking about Luanne, I might
- 15:10Speaker 2: believe it, yes, because that's why.
- 15:14Speaker 1: She handled herself with the police.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Right. Yeah, Well, we've got our work cut out for us.
- 15:21Speaker 4: So we need to welcome you in.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Kay, Welcome in.
- 15:25Speaker 2: To the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. And this is
- 15:29Speaker 2: episodes five and six that we're going to be recapping,
- 15:33Speaker 2: and we are.
- 15:34Speaker 4: We just left.
- 15:35Speaker 2: We're back from the girl's trip in Park City, and
- 15:38Speaker 2: no one knows where mom Talk stands. I mean, because
- 15:41Speaker 2: it was a mess. It was a mess in Park City,
- 15:44Speaker 2: and now everyone's just trying to pick up the pieces
- 15:47Speaker 2: and just trying to figure out where do we go
- 15:48Speaker 2: with mom talk you know, from here made me.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Feel like we left the Girl's trip abruptly, like oh yeah,
- 15:55Speaker 1: I thought like we missed an episode.
- 15:57Speaker 2: I I just remember being in the c and I
- 16:01Speaker 2: guess they did go to dinner. But so I guess
- 16:03Speaker 2: they did go to dinner eventually, But I don't know
- 16:05Speaker 2: how we left there, but we certainly didn't see it.
- 16:08Speaker 2: But I'm glad that we landed pretty harshly and introduced
- 16:12Speaker 2: to a place called Swig, which I had never heard of.
- 16:17Speaker 2: And I know that a lot of people because they're
- 16:19Speaker 2: ahead of us in watch watching Mormon Wives. But Swig
- 16:23Speaker 2: is just taking over by storm, and now we're really
- 16:26Speaker 2: aware that it's, you know, a soda bar that you
- 16:29Speaker 2: can get very specific drinks from. And my eyes were
- 16:32Speaker 2: open to why I suppose their teeth are in better
- 16:36Speaker 2: condition than I thought, because it's not just they're not
- 16:39Speaker 2: just drinking a mountain.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Dew or a coke.
- 16:42Speaker 2: They are asking for sugar free syrups. They are the
- 16:47Speaker 2: you know, the the it's like the French seventy two.
- 16:50Speaker 2: But you've got like the Fighter fight er Flight two
- 16:54Speaker 2: seventy one at Swig and you you basically ask for
- 16:58Speaker 2: your version of it and it's like a right two.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Puns of a spider.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just two pumps of lavender with like a
- 17:06Speaker 2: coconut spritz half carbonation half flat. I mean, it is
- 17:12Speaker 2: next level drinks.
- 17:13Speaker 4: And I say kudos to them for.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Finding something that is exciting to all of them and
- 17:18Speaker 2: getting creative with all of their Mormon loopholes, and so
- 17:23Speaker 2: good on them for that. But wow, what a journey
- 17:27Speaker 2: into the world of Swig.
- 17:30Speaker 3: I mean, God bless, I have zero interest and I
- 17:34Speaker 3: mean maybe I go to a Swig twice in my life,
- 17:36Speaker 3: but I yeah, yeah, it's not my vibe.
- 17:40Speaker 2: No, because we have many other options open to us
- 17:43Speaker 2: that we're allowed to have, so.
- 17:45Speaker 4: We don't need to do that.
- 17:46Speaker 2: But I'll tell you what if if you took away
- 17:48Speaker 2: my Coca cola and my coffee and my tea, I'd
- 17:52Speaker 2: probably be heading over to Swig, but didn't.
- 17:56Speaker 3: We also realized too that they could have caffeine. It
- 17:59Speaker 3: just has to be cold, right and not dark, so
- 18:03Speaker 3: they could have There are other options for caffeines out there,
- 18:08Speaker 3: and I need to get a clarification on can you
- 18:10Speaker 3: have like a heavily like if you have coffee but
- 18:13Speaker 3: has a lot iced coffee with a lot of milk,
- 18:17Speaker 3: does that count?
- 18:18Speaker 1: Are you okay? Then you know, because then that's not
- 18:22Speaker 1: dark and it's cold? Hm?
- 18:24Speaker 4: Wow, racist, No, I'm kidding.
- 18:30Speaker 2: So we are told that Whitney has left the group chat,
- 18:35Speaker 2: which is amazing, and this is what I'm here for.
- 18:38Speaker 2: I'm here for people leaving group chat, not confronting the
- 18:41Speaker 2: person or asking them why, and this person having very
- 18:46Speaker 2: clear motives for leaving the group chat but not admitting
- 18:49Speaker 2: to them, and this person's spiraling on the outside. And
- 18:53Speaker 2: we got a lot of Whitney. You know, I actually
- 18:56Speaker 2: thought she made a great point in one of her
- 18:58Speaker 2: confessionals that or when she was talking to Connor in
- 19:01Speaker 2: that kitchen, like she was like, are you know, are
- 19:06Speaker 2: we really genuine friends? There's always a transaction or an agenda,
- 19:11Speaker 2: you know, because they all met on mom talk, which
- 19:14Speaker 2: is interesting. So they met through TikTok, which I need
- 19:18Speaker 2: a little bit more of a deep dive on that
- 19:20Speaker 2: and how they all connected that way. So but we'll
- 19:24Speaker 2: have to discuss that in another time, and she's like,
- 19:27Speaker 2: I'd be curious if if we didn't meet on social media,
- 19:29Speaker 2: Like I don't even think we'd be friends if mom talk.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, no one would be friends with you
- 19:33Speaker 2: because you're a bitch, so you should maybe you should
- 19:36Speaker 2: be grateful for mom talk because they're kind of some
- 19:38Speaker 2: of them are putting up with your shit until now.
- 19:40Speaker 4: But yeah.
- 19:43Speaker 1: And it's also like.
- 19:45Speaker 3: The mom talkers are very quick to want to appoint
- 19:49Speaker 3: a new leader, and then I was like, oh, we
- 19:52Speaker 3: need but her transaction was make me the queen, Like
- 19:55Speaker 3: as long as you make me top tier, we'll be friends.
- 19:59Speaker 1: And it's like that's exhausting too.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Oh Lord, they want a leader because it works for
- 20:06Speaker 2: the story. I think that, you know, kind of pushing
- 20:09Speaker 2: them in that direction that mom talk needs a leader.
- 20:12Speaker 2: But I do think it's funny that, you know, with this,
- 20:17Speaker 2: a lot of people consider Mormonism a cult, and Jesse
- 20:21Speaker 2: calls it out. She's like, we need a leader for
- 20:23Speaker 2: this cult and I was like, well, yeah, I mean
- 20:25Speaker 2: it's kind of what it is. So I'm glad that
- 20:27Speaker 2: you called it out the way that we see these
- 20:31Speaker 2: mom talkers, which is kind of funny. But Whitney was
- 20:36Speaker 2: like telling Connor, I wasn't invited to their splatter party,
- 20:41Speaker 2: like that paint party thing. Yeah, And she's like, no
- 20:45Speaker 2: one called me, no one asked me, no one invited me.
- 20:48Speaker 2: And she's like, I don't know why. I mean, I
- 20:51Speaker 2: know why because I left the group chat. It's like, well, then,
- 20:52Speaker 2: which one is it? She really talks on it both
- 20:54Speaker 2: sides of her mouth, doesn't she?
- 20:58Speaker 4: Yes?
- 21:00Speaker 3: Is that that's the event that she didn't go to,
- 21:03Speaker 3: and instead they went to look at being homesteaders right right.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Right homesteaders, which is a pole Mormon TikTok thing, right.
- 21:13Speaker 3: And I think she was a little bummed out that
- 21:15Speaker 3: it wasn't going to take more than an hour and
- 21:17Speaker 3: a half of her day, which I was like, I've.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Never heard of that right as a farmer?
- 21:24Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that woman's like, oh snop, you really just
- 21:26Speaker 2: walk I'm like, what one hour walking around and feeding
- 21:29Speaker 2: all the animals that's all it takes. I'm just like, well,
- 21:32Speaker 2: other farmstead TikTokers in your community would beg to differ.
- 21:37Speaker 2: And the way that they tell the stories makes it
- 21:41Speaker 2: look a lot more complicated than that.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Also, like I feel like Whitney's going to be like
- 21:48Speaker 3: more about like the baby animals, because that's the vibe of.
- 21:53Speaker 4: You know what I mean, like cro please don't.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Well yeah, or Tiger king.
- 21:58Speaker 3: I but that's if Whitney's just doing it for influencer stuff.
- 22:03Speaker 3: I feel like that's going to be your vibe because
- 22:05Speaker 3: I can't imagine she's going to be I mean, the
- 22:09Speaker 3: hard labor showing that isn't you know, I don't think
- 22:13Speaker 3: she knows how to do it and doesn't I don't know.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I don't think that that would be the vibe of
- 22:17Speaker 1: the account. That's just me hi theory.
- 22:24Speaker 4: I did think it was kind of funny.
- 22:25Speaker 2: And they're confessional when they're sitting together, Whitney and Connor,
- 22:28Speaker 2: and she was like, or he said, you know, we
- 22:31Speaker 2: want a self sustaining farm. We want something that sustains us.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Or he's like, we want something that sustains us and
- 22:40Speaker 2: that we can live. She's like, we want a farm.
- 22:45Speaker 2: She really does cut to the chase, and I kind
- 22:46Speaker 2: of like that about her. I think it's really funny.
- 22:50Speaker 4: And then when she.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Was talking about how no one called her after leaving
- 22:54Speaker 2: the group chat, she was like, if someone left that
- 22:59Speaker 2: group I would immediately call them. I would immediately text
- 23:04Speaker 2: them and say, is everything okay?
- 23:06Speaker 4: You know?
- 23:07Speaker 2: And then she's like, I mean, I'm not saying that's
- 23:09Speaker 2: why I did it. I'm like, Okay, that's one hundred
- 23:11Speaker 2: percent why you did it, and no one reached out. Okay,
- 23:15Speaker 2: let me take a second and talk about Dame products.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Because we're all about self care these days, right, I
- 23:21Speaker 2: mean we take time for our workouts, our skincare, our
- 23:24Speaker 2: reality TV shows.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Am I right?
- 23:27Speaker 2: But what about pleasure? Well, here's some tea for you.

- 24:47Speaker 2: dot com and use code drama thirty for thirty percent off.
- 24:51Speaker 2: I will put the link and code in my podcast notes.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Trust me, it's time for some well deserved me time.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Now let's get back into the secret lives of Mormon wives.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Yeah, and she's so mad at Jessee for telling her
- 25:06Speaker 3: how like what the deal is, and so I'm like,
- 25:11Speaker 3: take some accountability here. She just the more she talks
- 25:15Speaker 3: about nobody reaching out, the angrier she gets at Jesse
- 25:20Speaker 3: for being the messenger. Meanwhile, it's like, well, pretty clear
- 25:25Speaker 3: no one gives two shits about you, and that's maybe
- 25:29Speaker 3: why they're not reaching out, So maybe refocus at anger.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean her mom too was interesting when she
- 25:38Speaker 2: was crying to her mom and later in the episode
- 25:42Speaker 2: after Jesse was like, yeah, no one likes you. Everyone's
- 25:45Speaker 2: talking about you, and that's just the truth. And the
- 25:48Speaker 2: fact that she was so taken aback and shocked about that,
- 25:54Speaker 2: it's so overly dramatic to me, I just thought, what
- 25:57Speaker 2: do you expect? How are you not thinking? Isn't this
- 26:00Speaker 2: kind of what you want? I feel like she's pitting
- 26:02Speaker 2: herself against everybody in a very great reality television way.
- 26:10Speaker 2: That makes for a good plot because right now she's
- 26:12Speaker 2: the villain and she's putting herself in and I'm part
- 26:15Speaker 2: of me thinks that she knows that. But then I'm like, oh, wait, no,
- 26:19Speaker 2: she really is clueless. Do you think she's clueless or
- 26:23Speaker 2: do you think that she actually is leaning into being
- 26:27Speaker 2: a villain?
- 26:29Speaker 1: No, I think she's clueless.
- 26:31Speaker 3: I don't think that she has I don't think you know,
- 26:35Speaker 3: I've said it before. It's just there's this total arrested
- 26:37Speaker 3: development thing happening with.
- 26:39Speaker 1: All of these people.
- 26:40Speaker 3: They're all like seven years behind mentally. Then their age
- 26:46Speaker 3: would make you think that they are at least seven
- 26:50Speaker 3: at least, so to me, it's like she is as
- 26:54Speaker 3: oblivious as like a preteen would be and not having
- 27:00Speaker 3: like just really thinking like, but I'm the coolest.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Why doesn't everyone like me? Right? And like last week
- 27:07Speaker 1: I let them all sit at my lunch.
- 27:09Speaker 3: Table, they should think I'm the best, you know, like
- 27:13Speaker 3: that's that's Whitney.
- 27:15Speaker 2: And then she's like, what everybody's talking about me? And
- 27:17Speaker 2: then she's she's always running out of the scene. She's
- 27:19Speaker 2: always leaving. Yeah, yeah, And then her mom is like, well,
- 27:24Speaker 2: they're just not your friends. They're just not you know,
- 27:27Speaker 2: like wow, I wonder where she learned this from.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Yeah, And that's how it all operates in that little bubble,
- 27:35Speaker 3: I mean, because those are the things that like you're
- 27:39Speaker 3: encouraged the ways that you're encouraged to be and.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Think, uh so Layla is getting she's gonna have her
- 27:48Speaker 2: divorce party and she gets her tattoo fixed that she
- 27:51Speaker 2: got from Clay like two dots or whatever. And what
- 27:55Speaker 2: did she even end up getting. I don't even know
- 27:57Speaker 2: why two stars?
- 27:59Speaker 1: It was the nothing was of any consequence. It's just
- 28:02Speaker 1: like God, it's happening.
- 28:04Speaker 2: That's odd, okay, And it's interesting to watch the journey
- 28:10Speaker 2: of these divorces and hearing like Demi is talking about
- 28:14Speaker 2: how she's divorced too, and I do like that she
- 28:17Speaker 2: speaks to that and says like it's it should it
- 28:21Speaker 2: should be normalized, and you shouldn't feel guilty about being divorced.
- 28:27Speaker 2: And that's just you know, because the church they're so
- 28:31Speaker 2: hard on it and they don't like that. But you
- 28:33Speaker 2: shouldn't feel guilty and you shouldn't feel shame about it,
- 28:35Speaker 2: and it's not the end of the world. So I
- 28:36Speaker 2: do appreciate her speaking to that because these girls are
- 28:39Speaker 2: so young and they're going to carry that with them
- 28:42Speaker 2: in such a way to where they will feel that shame.
- 28:45Speaker 4: And then I thought, I don't think Leila's feeling that shame.
- 28:48Speaker 2: I mean, we're having a divorce party where it's like
- 28:52Speaker 2: rip Laylah Wessels or whatever. And I was like, I
- 28:56Speaker 2: would never want to do something like that't want to
- 29:00Speaker 2: look at the name. I wouldn't want to rip it.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I just think it's so weird and very odd, but
- 29:10Speaker 2: it works because like.
- 29:12Speaker 3: People have divorce parties, but it's not it's more about
- 29:16Speaker 3: new beginnings than it is about like riegrating the things
- 29:19Speaker 3: that were right.
- 29:21Speaker 2: And to have her married name and like rip and
- 29:25Speaker 2: it just was a weird look, just an odd way
- 29:28Speaker 2: to do it. And then that guy that showed up,
- 29:30Speaker 2: that that little boy that they were trying to introduce
- 29:33Speaker 2: her to. I was like, who is this child? And
- 29:36Speaker 2: it just reminded me of how young they all are.
- 29:40Speaker 2: And with divorces happening in this community, there's a from
- 29:44Speaker 2: what I can see, there's no less divorces in the
- 29:47Speaker 2: Mormon culture than there are in regular culture.
- 29:52Speaker 4: Shouldn't they want to change that? Isn't that kind of like?
- 29:56Speaker 2: Why is everybody throwing out the word divorce all the time,
- 29:59Speaker 2: Like Zach on the phone, I don't want to be
- 30:01Speaker 2: married to you if this or that? And I'm like, guys,
- 30:05Speaker 2: aren't you guys supposed to be trying to see it
- 30:07Speaker 2: through with your marriages. Everyone seems to get pretty loose
- 30:11Speaker 2: with divorces in the Mormon religion.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Because they're ten.
- 30:17Speaker 4: That's right, that's right, you're right, that's what it is.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I mean, the Zact thing is berserker wow.
- 30:28Speaker 2: I mean when they go to Vegas four and they're surprised,
- 30:33Speaker 2: this is the thing I'm really having a hard time
- 30:35Speaker 2: about the Chippendales thing and Jesse's surprising them with going
- 30:40Speaker 2: for Layla's birthday. They act kind of act like it's
- 30:43Speaker 2: a surprise, but it seems like the guys know and
- 30:46Speaker 2: are okay with them going, but not And then I
- 30:51Speaker 2: can't figure it out. It's like, then they're backstage and
- 30:53Speaker 2: that was a whole thing, and so then maybe that's
- 30:56Speaker 2: what they didn't actually know, is that they were going
- 30:58Speaker 2: to be going backstage and meeting them before hand, taking
- 31:00Speaker 2: pictures with them and rubbing oil on their chests if
- 31:03Speaker 2: they so chose to, and that that obviously is what
- 31:08Speaker 2: Zach was upset about, is that they were backstage and
- 31:11Speaker 2: taking a picture with them, and now they're posting it
- 31:13Speaker 2: on TikTok.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, I like that, You're like, that's what he
- 31:17Speaker 3: was obviously upset about.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Poor guy. I don't know how you got.
- 31:20Speaker 4: Through it, poor Zach. I know.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Right.
- 31:22Speaker 4: Let me make this very clear. I have no sympathy
- 31:25Speaker 4: or empathy for him whatsoever.
- 31:27Speaker 2: And I mean this is this just screams problematic obviously
- 31:32Speaker 2: in every way possible.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Well, okay, is it true that he lost his like
- 31:37Speaker 1: his parents gave him money for his education and gambled
- 31:41Speaker 1: it away.
- 31:42Speaker 4: Oh my god, are you serious?
- 31:44Speaker 1: Yeah? I can't remember if I there was like a
- 31:46Speaker 1: TikTok I saw or something, and I didn't confirm it.
- 31:50Speaker 3: I should like read and see if it because then
- 31:54Speaker 3: on the uh In five or six episode, one of
- 31:58Speaker 3: these uh Jen says, I don't want to say it's
- 32:03Speaker 3: a gambling addiction, remember in her interview, and then because
- 32:09Speaker 3: they were like can we talk about this and or
- 32:14Speaker 3: can we talk about Zach and the gambling? And she's like, yes,
- 32:18Speaker 3: but I don't want to call it an addiction.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Right, God, but right, I don't want to call it.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I don't want to put a name on it.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:27Speaker 3: But when he was like unloading on her at the
- 32:30Speaker 3: Chippendale's thing, I was like, Oh, he's just trying to
- 32:33Speaker 3: like make her feel bad so she gives.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Him more money.
- 32:36Speaker 2: So you got to gamble that, right If gambling, I mean,
- 32:40Speaker 2: gambling is obviously not in the Mormon, the Book of Mormon.
- 32:46Speaker 4: You're not supposed to do that.
- 32:48Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean it might be fine, who knows,
- 32:53Speaker 1: and it's probably different for men and women, Like I
- 32:55Speaker 1: have no idea, of.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Course, But clearly in the Book of Mormon it says
- 33:00Speaker 2: you may not go to a Chippendale show.
- 33:04Speaker 1: That's how Chippendale's are.
- 33:06Speaker 3: The fact that they didn't even know what the Chippendales were. Yeah,
- 33:10Speaker 3: And I was like, this thing has been around since
- 33:12Speaker 3: Joseph Smith.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Yes, it has as long as coke has been around,
- 33:18Speaker 2: as we've discovered one hundred years.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Over one hundred years, So what is your excuse.
- 33:26Speaker 2: I'm not seeing anything on Zach gambling away his college fund,
- 33:30Speaker 2: so I'm not sure about that.
- 33:31Speaker 4: I just did a quick search. I'm not seeing that.
- 33:33Speaker 2: But she's like, okay, I'll give you a you know,
- 33:37Speaker 2: an allowance. And I'm like, this is so weird, Like
- 33:40Speaker 2: you're he's gonna go twenty five hundred dollars to play
- 33:46Speaker 2: with and an.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Apologies if it's in a future episode or something. But
- 33:51Speaker 3: I did see a TikTok about him just blowing through
- 33:55Speaker 3: a shit ton of money.
- 33:57Speaker 4: That checks out. That does check out.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Uh, So let's keep talking about Vegas because we're there.
- 34:05Speaker 2: But like when they're in the party bus on the
- 34:09Speaker 2: way to the Chippendale's, Jen chomping on that blue gum
- 34:15Speaker 2: is more offensive to me than any of the things
- 34:18Speaker 2: I've heard about the Mormon culture that I have a
- 34:20Speaker 2: problem with.
- 34:23Speaker 4: That was that was a rough go.
- 34:25Speaker 2: And then I noticed several people were chewing the gum,
- 34:27Speaker 2: and I just thought, ladies, shut your mouths.
- 34:30Speaker 4: Okay, shut them. But they're so young that they just
- 34:33Speaker 4: I don't know. So, would you want to oil up
- 34:39Speaker 4: at Chippendale?
- 34:40Speaker 3: No?
- 34:42Speaker 4: Yeah, that's not fun for me.
- 34:45Speaker 1: No?
- 34:45Speaker 4: Mm hm.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Okay, good like, yeah it's not. It's not.
- 34:50Speaker 3: It's like the least sexual thing ever because these guys,
- 34:56Speaker 3: you know, they don't they don't want to see, they don't.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Want me to do this. See, they're probably just like,
- 35:02Speaker 1: what the hell, it's the whole.
- 35:04Speaker 4: Thing is weird. Yea, the whole thing is just weird.
- 35:08Speaker 2: But yeah, it's very disturbing about Jen talking to Zach
- 35:11Speaker 2: and she's like, he doesn't want to be married to
- 35:14Speaker 2: me anymore if I do stuff like this. And that's
- 35:17Speaker 2: where your point comes in, where I was thinking, yeah,
- 35:19Speaker 2: they're just kids, Like that's what he's like, I'm going
- 35:21Speaker 2: to break up with you. I mean, that's okay to
- 35:24Speaker 2: feel that way because you're too you know, right. So
- 35:29Speaker 2: I kind of don't really have that much of an
- 35:32Speaker 2: issue with them. Overreacting because they're so young that they
- 35:35Speaker 2: don't understand that you can have healthy boundaries and healthy relationships.
- 35:42Speaker 2: They just don't get it, Like they're not evolved enough
- 35:44Speaker 2: and mature enough to understand that. So in a way,
- 35:47Speaker 2: I can't really hold them to a standard.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Well I can.
- 35:51Speaker 3: They should not be having children of their own, is
- 35:54Speaker 3: where I'm feeling. That is like if you if you're
- 35:58Speaker 3: gonna be in this like bubble and you think this
- 36:02Speaker 3: is the way the world operates, we can't just keep
- 36:07Speaker 3: doing this over and over again because we say, like
- 36:09Speaker 3: they're young, they're babies, but they are, they shouldn't be
- 36:13Speaker 3: having kids. They're going to keep having kids and they're
- 36:18Speaker 3: you know, mid twenties, thirties soon, and I don't think
- 36:23Speaker 3: it's going to change.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Well, it's really tough when you have kids when you're younger,
- 36:27Speaker 2: because you really don't know how to edit yourself in
- 36:30Speaker 2: front of them.
- 36:31Speaker 4: Also, and you're not mature enough.
- 36:33Speaker 2: So you know, you've got like Whitney just spouting off
- 36:37Speaker 2: in the kitchen about all this bullshit and her two
- 36:40Speaker 2: kids are there, and I'm thinking this is seeping in
- 36:43Speaker 2: in some way in which they're going to act the
- 36:45Speaker 2: same way when they get older, because they're just hearing
- 36:47Speaker 2: it peripherally and it's going to just be a part
- 36:53Speaker 2: of who they are, you know. And to think, like
- 36:56Speaker 2: back in the day, everybody had kids when they were younger.
- 36:59Speaker 2: You know, people aren't way until like they do now
- 37:02Speaker 2: when they're in their late thirties and forties, and and
- 37:06Speaker 2: it sucks because it's like that's when you start to
- 37:09Speaker 2: really know who you are and you have your boundaries
- 37:11Speaker 2: and you are set in who you are.
- 37:13Speaker 4: But then it's like, oh, I can't.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Have kids now because now my eggs are all dried up.
- 37:19Speaker 2: And that's what's so sad about it. It's so strange
- 37:23Speaker 2: the way these things work. So on some level, I
- 37:26Speaker 2: understand if they if family is really important to them
- 37:28Speaker 2: and they want to keep having they want to have
- 37:31Speaker 2: kids and populate, But then they don't have the maturity
- 37:35Speaker 2: to like balance that out. It's such a recipe for
- 37:37Speaker 2: disaster and divorce. So it makes so much sense why
- 37:39Speaker 2: everybody's getting divorced. So all right, let's discuss Tailor and.
- 37:51Speaker 4: Dakota.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Okay, So first of all, we find out at some
- 37:57Speaker 2: point that Macy has a sek. She used to do
- 38:03Speaker 2: this sinner Sunday, anonymous confession thing on her TikTok, and
- 38:09Speaker 2: she got a message from someone saying, I accidentally slept
- 38:12Speaker 2: with Dakota before I knew he and Taylor were together.
- 38:15Speaker 2: So that's adding to this whole situation with him potentially cheating.
- 38:21Speaker 2: And we know that Taylor wants Dakota and Macy to talk.
- 38:26Speaker 2: It's really important to her because that's her best friend.
- 38:29Speaker 2: And she knows that she has a problem with Dakota,
- 38:32Speaker 2: and she's having her baby in a few weeks and
- 38:35Speaker 2: they're in a terrible spot and everything's a mess. So
- 38:39Speaker 2: finally she gets them together to discuss, and this really
- 38:47Speaker 2: took a turn. I was pretty shocked when Taylor. Taylor
- 38:54Speaker 2: broke down and started crying, and then Dakota essentially like
- 39:00Speaker 2: set it all that we the some parts that we
- 39:03Speaker 2: didn't know, and then of course we learn more later
- 39:06Speaker 2: thoughts on Dakota's you know, outing Taylor about how when
- 39:13Speaker 2: they were in a talking phase that she said he
- 39:16Speaker 2: can go be with anybody and not tell her.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Oh, well, you know, that was weird because when he
- 39:22Speaker 3: was talking with Macy, I kind of when the three
- 39:24Speaker 3: of them were.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Like using Macy as a mediator. I was like, well,
- 39:30Speaker 1: I could see Taylor.
- 39:31Speaker 3: Doing that, and then it is confusing, and so I
- 39:35Speaker 3: almost do want to call this a draw.
- 39:37Speaker 1: But then something shifted.
- 39:39Speaker 3: By the time they got to the next set of mediators,
- 39:42Speaker 3: which were Zach and Jena, I was just.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Like, oh, Dakota, you're a fucking idiot again.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Like I every time can give him like two points,
- 39:54Speaker 3: and then by the end of the episode, I'm back
- 39:57Speaker 3: to negative with him.
- 39:59Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 39:59Speaker 2: I felt the exact same way. Yeah, I mean when
- 40:05Speaker 2: she started crying, I was like, Wow, this is some
- 40:08Speaker 2: real shit.
- 40:09Speaker 4: I mean, here she is.
- 40:10Speaker 2: She's super frighting everywhere everywhere. Yeah, she's showing up everywhere.
- 40:16Speaker 3: Hi.
- 40:16Speaker 4: Yeah, Dakota and I just had a fight. Hi. H
- 40:18Speaker 4: Dakota and I just had a fight. Hi. Yeah, just Dakota,
- 40:22Speaker 4: just I just had a fight.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Everywhere she's going and it's like she's wearing the same outfit,
- 40:27Speaker 2: she's wearing the same joggers.
- 40:30Speaker 4: She's a mess. She's a mess. It's a mess. It's
- 40:34Speaker 4: a mess. It's a mess. It's really hard to watch.
- 40:37Speaker 3: But then you see how he is, like when I
- 40:39Speaker 3: mean the mom, Taylor's mom being like tell him that
- 40:43Speaker 3: you her neighbor or whatever.
- 40:45Speaker 2: I was like, oh, oh, so this is where we
- 40:47Speaker 2: learned it, you know, like when we are getting to
- 40:50Speaker 2: know these moms, I'm like, these messy mommy Mormons.
- 40:53Speaker 4: They just really aren't afraid to go there. You know.
- 40:59Speaker 2: They get divisive, they get spicy, they get dramatic.
- 41:05Speaker 1: They do.
- 41:05Speaker 3: And then I thought like, but she was trying to
- 41:08Speaker 3: call him and he wasn't answering, and what if she
- 41:12Speaker 3: was in labor, right, it.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Wasn't that crazy to think that.
- 41:16Speaker 3: And then I thought like, can you imagine being that
- 41:18Speaker 3: pregnant and then having to deal with his dumb ass
- 41:22Speaker 3: like I just.
- 41:24Speaker 1: And he doesn't.
- 41:25Speaker 3: He seems fine with the level of stress he's putting
- 41:28Speaker 3: on her, Like it doesn't.
- 41:30Speaker 1: It seems to just be about him over and over again.
- 41:33Speaker 3: It is about him to having this experience that he wants.
- 41:37Speaker 4: This is what I see.
- 41:38Speaker 2: All I see is that everything that he's putting forward
- 41:42Speaker 2: about come on, please, like you're four weeks away, you're going.
- 41:45Speaker 4: To have a baby.
- 41:46Speaker 2: That part of his conversation. I was like, Okay, this
- 41:48Speaker 2: is good. I like what he's saying here. And he's like,
- 41:52Speaker 2: I just want to be on the same page with you.
- 41:55Speaker 2: I just want to be a team. But what people
- 41:58Speaker 2: don't understand, and what I think is hard for us
- 42:01Speaker 2: to wrap our heads around, is that what he means
- 42:05Speaker 2: is that he wants her to say yes to marrying him,
- 42:09Speaker 2: period dot. He is not being he's not meeting her
- 42:13Speaker 2: halfway with like she's basically saying, like, I will be
- 42:18Speaker 2: on your team, but I'm not ready to move forward
- 42:21Speaker 2: in this to be married because I don't know if
- 42:23Speaker 2: something's gonna pop up around the corner, if you've done
- 42:25Speaker 2: something and our trust has been broken.
- 42:27Speaker 4: So give me a minute.
- 42:30Speaker 2: And what he's saying is I believe you know, put
- 42:35Speaker 2: all that aside and let me be on your team.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Let's get married. And it's just not gonna work that way.
- 42:40Speaker 2: He needs to fall back and say, yeah, we can
- 42:43Speaker 2: be a team and then we'll get you know, if
- 42:46Speaker 2: we can get married later. But I think that he's
- 42:48Speaker 2: really stopping it at this ultimatum with the marriage thing
- 42:52Speaker 2: because he's the whole Mormon church pressure. She keeps saying
- 42:55Speaker 2: that he feels pressure from the church not to have
- 42:58Speaker 2: a baby out of wedlock, and he wants that done.
- 43:02Speaker 2: He wants to check that box off, and it's just
- 43:04Speaker 2: not that simple, and he's making it so stressful for her.
- 43:09Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I mean, but now he has someone to
- 43:13Speaker 3: blame when they don't get married and have a baby
- 43:16Speaker 3: out of woodlock. Yeah, it can be her, but it's like,
- 43:19Speaker 3: well you you brought it to this though, buddy.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Also, why are you going and sleeping with somebody else?
- 43:30Speaker 1: Well, I gotta chalk that up to the gray area.
- 43:33Speaker 3: Unless it's like no, once they were exclusive once, Like,
- 43:38Speaker 3: that's a little undefined to me so far, but maybe
- 43:41Speaker 3: it gets more defined in the next couple episodes.
- 43:44Speaker 1: But that's the part I'm like, well.
- 43:46Speaker 2: I agree, it's a gray area, because then he really
- 43:49Speaker 2: put it on her by saying like, then why did
- 43:52Speaker 2: you say you know, you're the one who told me
- 43:54Speaker 2: I can do whatever I want, and why would she
- 43:58Speaker 2: say that and then kind of take it back because
- 44:01Speaker 2: and this is where I'm like, oh my god, she's pregnant.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Just tell her whatever she needs to hear. Just say
- 44:06Speaker 2: you're sorry, and just say I'm sorry. I shouldn't have
- 44:10Speaker 2: done that, and I really shouldn't have even you know,
- 44:12Speaker 2: I don't know, but you have to say whatever it
- 44:14Speaker 2: takes to get through this period of being pregnant because
- 44:17Speaker 2: from what I understand, what she told him is very
- 44:22Speaker 2: contradictory and not right. So she's telling him, you can
- 44:26Speaker 2: go do whatever you want. But then he lied to
- 44:31Speaker 2: her when she asked him to hang out, he said
- 44:35Speaker 2: he was like at a guy's night, and then he
- 44:37Speaker 2: went to a girl's house that night and hooked up.
- 44:39Speaker 2: And why would you lie to me? And it's like, well,
- 44:42Speaker 2: you told him that you don't want to know, so
- 44:46Speaker 2: essentially he can't tell you the truth. So what exactly
- 44:52Speaker 2: is he supposed to do? So she really set him
- 44:55Speaker 2: up for disaster there. It was an impossible task, is
- 44:59Speaker 2: what I'm trying to say. Say what she wanted, I
- 45:01Speaker 2: don't understand, and so and and and clearly he doesn't
- 45:06Speaker 2: understand either, so and and what she said is like,
- 45:08Speaker 2: all I asked of you was to be honest after
- 45:11Speaker 2: everything I've been through. And I just thought, well, it
- 45:15Speaker 2: sounds like you were the one who stepped out on
- 45:16Speaker 2: your marriage and the rules. So obviously you're extra paranoid
- 45:20Speaker 2: because you don't want someone to do that to you.
- 45:23Speaker 2: But now you're telling him to go off and do something.
- 45:26Speaker 2: It's totally confusing, And I thought, Taylor, you're a freaking
- 45:29Speaker 2: mess right now, girl, And I can't one hundred percent
- 45:32Speaker 2: get behind you because of what now we know you're
- 45:35Speaker 2: bringing to this relationship. It's completely disorganized.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, I agree, and full.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Of drama and full of yeah.
- 45:45Speaker 1: Just and I'm I'm.
- 45:46Speaker 3: I mean, I know that she's like the head of
- 45:49Speaker 3: mom Talk or whatever, but she's very outside the Dakota things.
- 45:55Speaker 3: She's she really almost blends into the woodwork. And I
- 45:59Speaker 3: don't totally understand how she's the alpha or she's the leader,
- 46:06Speaker 3: because to me, it doesn't seem like she's that compelling.
- 46:12Speaker 3: In other situations. She's very quiet.
- 46:15Speaker 2: But I think that is what's compelling about her is that, well,
- 46:18Speaker 2: her life is completely a mess right now and we're
- 46:21Speaker 2: just watching it. And perhaps, you know, being the leader
- 46:25Speaker 2: of mom Talk back in the day, her energy was
- 46:29Speaker 2: shifted in a different place. I mean, it was an
- 46:31Speaker 2: exciting time. She wasn't dealing with all the drama and
- 46:34Speaker 2: the scandal and now yet another relationship where now she's
- 46:37Speaker 2: pregnant and dealing with trust issues and not knowing what's
- 46:39Speaker 2: moving forward. So it's her in a different life really, Yeah,
- 46:44Speaker 2: and she is set back. I mean, she's just sitting
- 46:46Speaker 2: there pregnant and crying and everyone's confused. You know, what
- 46:53Speaker 2: I thought was super fascinating was that Macy was so
- 46:59Speaker 2: eloquent explaining her situation to Dakota by saying, like, look,
- 47:04Speaker 2: I don't want to chalk you up to being like
- 47:08Speaker 2: my abuser. I'm not saying that you are that, but
- 47:11Speaker 2: that there are some similarities by way of you know,
- 47:14Speaker 2: verbal things that are said that are really triggering for me,
- 47:19Speaker 2: that are just not okay. And I really liked how
- 47:21Speaker 2: she put that forward because we know that she saw
- 47:24Speaker 2: the text where he basically called her a slut.
- 47:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:28Speaker 1: I like Macy Macy. I like her. She's good.
- 47:33Speaker 3: Even though like I like that, even though Whitney's and asshole,
- 47:37Speaker 3: Macy still like has her back. Like Macy to me
- 47:42Speaker 3: is the one I could be like, there might be
- 47:44Speaker 3: another one in there, but Macy I could hang out with.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Macy's great. She has herself together, which is very impressive.
- 47:51Speaker 2: It seems like more than anybody.
- 47:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:55Speaker 2: So I did really appreciate her opening up about her
- 47:58Speaker 2: ex boyfriend and I thought it was very relatable.
- 48:04Speaker 4: So that was really intense.
- 48:07Speaker 2: Now, after that scene, then they show up at Zach
- 48:12Speaker 2: and Jen's and Whitney's like, yeah, we're just gonna do
- 48:15Speaker 2: a really big fight.
- 48:16Speaker 4: So yeah, and now they're going to drive there.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Yeah, we have five hours to fight in the car.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Yeah that's awesome. A shared vehicle, Oh horrible.
- 48:27Speaker 3: And everybody keeps acting surprised that, Like Taylor walks into
- 48:31Speaker 3: a room and is like, Dakota and I are fighting again,
- 48:34Speaker 3: and then the in in the interview or whatever it is,
- 48:37Speaker 3: everybody's like, I mean this time, it was like, really,
- 48:41Speaker 3: for real, they were actually really fighting.
- 48:43Speaker 1: I'm like, what were they doing ten minutes ago? Maybe? Yeah,
- 48:46Speaker 1: every single.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Episode sometimes the police are involved, like, yeah, none of
- 48:54Speaker 3: this should be surprising.
- 48:56Speaker 1: It's weird when they get along. That to me is weird.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Hugged outside the van, I was like, whoa, yeah, what's
- 49:04Speaker 1: going on.
- 49:05Speaker 2: I was glad that he made a move to do
- 49:08Speaker 2: that because I thought, if you get into that car
- 49:12Speaker 2: and you start over fighting, it's gonna be a mess.
- 49:14Speaker 2: And that's kind of like what they started to do.
- 49:16Speaker 2: But whatever, And meanwhile they're trying to fight in the
- 49:21Speaker 2: house before they left, and then Zach and Jen came
- 49:24Speaker 2: up and like, we really have to go.
- 49:27Speaker 4: Let's start heading out.
- 49:29Speaker 3: But and the only reason that Dakota was even I
- 49:36Speaker 3: think I don't believe he was actually that.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Angry about the jibbin dales. I think he was just.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Trying to get some like edge back for her always
- 49:47Speaker 3: blaming him for stepping out.
- 49:50Speaker 1: Now he can be like, well you in to a
- 49:52Speaker 1: Chippendale ship.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Yes, in the like in the Mormon umbra, like under
- 50:00Speaker 3: that umbrella that is equal or.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Worse right, Yeah, And you know they love clout. They
- 50:06Speaker 2: want to have clout over other people. I've never known
- 50:09Speaker 2: more people that want clout. And I've never I mean
- 50:12Speaker 2: that word. It must have been born in Utah and
- 50:16Speaker 2: just lives in Utah because oh, I have to point
- 50:21Speaker 2: out Connor's outfit at the divorce party and Whitney's outfit
- 50:26Speaker 2: at the divorce party that was something else.
- 50:28Speaker 3: It's really so oh my god, it was her dress
- 50:31Speaker 3: was nineteen ninety three homecoming.
- 50:33Speaker 4: Truly.
- 50:34Speaker 2: I was like, oh, I think I wore that, Yes,
- 50:37Speaker 2: So do you appreciate it for it being like a
- 50:41Speaker 2: throwback fashion statement because it's.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Anyone else had it?
- 50:47Speaker 3: I would, but with her, I know what she did,
- 50:50Speaker 3: and she's like, this looks like I'm wearing a pilgrim hat.
- 50:54Speaker 1: I'm in and I'm like.
- 50:55Speaker 3: No, there's nothing vintage cool about what you've done here.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Whitney like Jonas, Yeah, got into it.
- 51:06Speaker 2: And then she talks to Jesse and wants to know why.
- 51:09Speaker 2: I mean, this is when it's hard to keep track
- 51:11Speaker 2: of who said what she's like, because Whitney wants to
- 51:14Speaker 2: know why. Demi said that. Whitney gets close to people
- 51:16Speaker 2: to get their secrets and then she moves on and
- 51:18Speaker 2: uses them and moves on and I'm like, uh what
- 51:22Speaker 2: And we did talk about that how. Jesse's like, yeah,
- 51:24Speaker 2: you everybody's talking about you. Everyone has an issue with you.
- 51:27Speaker 2: And she's like, oh, what I'm.
- 51:31Speaker 4: Leaving, which is great, which is really really great.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Okay, so but let me let me go back and
- 51:39Speaker 2: mention Macy's baby mama launching her launching a business with
- 51:46Speaker 2: natal supplements, which is great, and how this was such
- 51:51Speaker 2: a setup to the maternity shoot. I was like, okay,
- 51:55Speaker 2: well clearly, I mean it's hard because you can't You're like, okay,
- 51:58Speaker 2: this is so produced you the Dakota came in, Yeah.
- 52:02Speaker 1: But that was not a maternity thing.
- 52:05Speaker 3: It was no I know, they was there to plug her.
- 52:08Speaker 3: Oh I see you having Dakota hijacking it.
- 52:10Speaker 2: Right, But I think that that was a produced bit,
- 52:13Speaker 2: like you know what I mean? Yeah, I agree, Okay, yeah,
- 52:17Speaker 2: but I have to say, maternity shoots to me are
- 52:21Speaker 2: they're usually a miss. Like they don't they don't always
- 52:25Speaker 2: resonate with me. But those pictures actually looked really good.
- 52:28Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie. They were kind of cute. I
- 52:30Speaker 2: mean they were all right.
- 52:32Speaker 3: I mean yeah, I always think like these they always
- 52:36Speaker 3: have a little bit of a creep thing going on.
- 52:39Speaker 2: I don't know always, that's what I mean. They never
- 52:41Speaker 2: resonate with me fully. Maybe it was like I don't backdrop.
- 52:46Speaker 2: I think maybe because I like the pink, vibrant backdrop.
- 52:49Speaker 2: Usually they're just all like beigey and all white and
- 52:54Speaker 2: it's just all like weird. They're just they always kind
- 52:58Speaker 2: of creep me out on something.
- 53:00Speaker 1: And I say that.
- 53:00Speaker 3: As someone that's never been pregnant, like I don't, so
- 53:05Speaker 3: I guess like maybe there's a whole component of like
- 53:09Speaker 3: being a really special time in your body and you
- 53:12Speaker 3: want to capture that.
- 53:14Speaker 4: Yeah, just don't do it in a lazy way.
- 53:16Speaker 1: I mean, and don't do Dakota.
- 53:19Speaker 4: Definitely don't do it with Dakota.
- 53:22Speaker 3: I will say when she was alone. I loved it
- 53:25Speaker 3: when yes, yeah entered, And I think that's what it is.
- 53:28Speaker 1: When the dude.
- 53:29Speaker 4: Enters and we don't need the dude.
- 53:32Speaker 2: We don't need anybody female, another female, or another male, anyone.
- 53:36Speaker 2: Like I think it's just the pregnant person. Yeah, there
- 53:39Speaker 2: you go. I think we nailed it. I think we
- 53:41Speaker 2: figured it out. I never did one of those, you know.
- 53:44Speaker 2: I just was like, Eh, it's not too late, it's
- 53:49Speaker 2: not it's very late, my girl, it's very late, okay.
- 53:54Speaker 2: And then I lastly, because we do have to wrap
- 53:57Speaker 2: this up, I want to mention.
- 54:02Speaker 4: What's her name?
- 54:03Speaker 2: Jesse's like basically she got a mommy makeover, and.
- 54:09Speaker 3: Like on the fly on her way in, she's like,
- 54:13Speaker 3: you know if you can just like she was explained
- 54:15Speaker 3: to the doctor as she's like getting in her Do
- 54:18Speaker 3: you think that was real?
- 54:20Speaker 4: Like do you think that was really real?
- 54:23Speaker 1: I hope not.
- 54:24Speaker 2: But like you can't just do an add on at
- 54:27Speaker 2: the last minute, Like there's certain hours that you have
- 54:30Speaker 2: to book a surgery room.
- 54:32Speaker 4: I mean I just.
- 54:32Speaker 2: Will the way they made it sound, yeah.
- 54:35Speaker 3: Yeah, it was more like explaining like a haircut right
- 54:39Speaker 3: as you're going in.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Right, You're showing like a picture of a Pinterest and
- 54:43Speaker 2: you're like, I just want this.
- 54:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Well, I mean I thought that I would like to
- 54:52Speaker 3: know the downtime because she sure showed up for Vegas
- 54:56Speaker 3: ready to go.
- 54:57Speaker 4: I could not believe she went to They said.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Four to six weeks and that you can seem like
- 55:03Speaker 1: four to six weeks later that yeah, the whole thing.
- 55:09Speaker 2: Yeah right, I mean the going to Vegas hot off
- 55:13Speaker 2: of that.
- 55:13Speaker 4: I mean, I wouldn't.
- 55:15Speaker 2: That's really scary because you're looking at you're looking down
- 55:18Speaker 2: the barrel of a staph infection, you know, like talk
- 55:21Speaker 2: to Vicky talk yes, exactly, thank you, That's that should
- 55:28Speaker 2: be what we're dealing with. And I I will say
- 55:31Speaker 2: I did love the fact that she very much normalized
- 55:35Speaker 2: a laby of plasty that she I mean, I can't
- 55:40Speaker 2: believe she showed she allowed the cameras to film that
- 55:44Speaker 2: and they blurted out, but but she showed the girls
- 55:47Speaker 2: like what she was dealing with after the fact, and
- 55:50Speaker 2: I just was like, this is really empowering because I've
- 55:53Speaker 2: never seen that. I don't think I've ever We've heard
- 55:56Speaker 2: women talk about getting the mommy makeover. We've heard about
- 55:59Speaker 2: what happens when you know, when you give birth vaginally.
- 56:04Speaker 2: That can really go down south. But her being so
- 56:08Speaker 2: open about it, I thought was commendable and so good
- 56:11Speaker 2: on you, Jesse, good on you.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 56:14Speaker 4: Well we're gonna move on from.
- 56:17Speaker 1: Let's get to the tent.
- 56:19Speaker 3: Yes, kay, welcome in.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Okay, great British Bakeoff. This is like how many seasons?
- 56:26Speaker 2: Because I've this is the first season I've watched it. Emily,
- 56:30Speaker 2: you were like, you gotta see this, So this is
- 56:33Speaker 2: my first time watching it. It looked like there were
- 56:35Speaker 2: a ton of seasons. Oh are you using a mug
- 56:38Speaker 2: that says.
- 56:39Speaker 4: Oh, Star Baker?
- 56:41Speaker 3: Oh this, Oh gosh, I'm sorry, my mug says Star Baker.
- 56:45Speaker 4: How sweet you have a You've got a great Breech
- 56:47Speaker 4: bakeoff mug.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Amy, I am so happy to have you in the
- 56:53Speaker 1: tent with me.
- 56:54Speaker 4: Thank you for welcoming me in.
- 56:56Speaker 1: Welcome in. What were your like initial thoughts?
- 57:03Speaker 4: Wait, holy Molly.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Yeah, and Amy's never watched it?
- 57:13Speaker 1: Always wanted to.
- 57:14Speaker 2: Yes, Yes, loved, I mean, of course absolutely adore it.
- 57:21Speaker 1: Love it.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Thank you for encouraging me. Love their their British judging,
- 57:27Speaker 2: which is like, hmmm.
- 57:28Speaker 4: The color is a bit violent.
- 57:31Speaker 2: That's not tidy, not very nice, little clumsy what I say. Uh,
- 57:37Speaker 2: And here's the real kolk like I love their language,
- 57:40Speaker 2: you know.
- 57:41Speaker 4: For the judging, it's great.
- 57:43Speaker 5: Well, there's some controversy uh on the judging right this
- 57:49Speaker 5: moment in this episode, because what we saw in the
- 57:54Speaker 5: first episode in the signature bake to get a Paul
- 57:58Speaker 5: Hollywood handshake was I was.
- 58:01Speaker 1: Not happy about it.
- 58:03Speaker 3: That Paul Hollywood handshake used to be like, blow your mind.
- 58:09Speaker 3: Middle of the season, this must be the greatest thing
- 58:12Speaker 3: he ever tried.
- 58:13Speaker 1: Handshake.
- 58:14Speaker 4: Oh, and to just.
- 58:16Speaker 3: Give it out first episode in the first round. Oh,
- 58:22Speaker 3: I was so glad that proved and said, is that
- 58:24Speaker 3: how it's going to be now?
- 58:27Speaker 1: Oh my, So that's why she called that out. But
- 58:29Speaker 1: a Paul Hollywood handshake, Oh, it's a very big deal.
- 58:34Speaker 4: The weight of it. Yeah, okay.
- 58:37Speaker 3: Sometimes and there was a minute there where he was
- 58:39Speaker 3: handing them out a little too carelessly and people were.
- 58:42Speaker 1: Not happy about it. Viewers were not happy, okay, and
- 58:45Speaker 1: then he kind.
- 58:46Speaker 3: Of pulled back and it was at a rate that
- 58:49Speaker 3: we were all comfortable with honoring.
- 58:53Speaker 1: And now I don't go back at it.
- 58:56Speaker 4: He had too many hot toddies that morning.
- 58:58Speaker 1: Maybe yeah, something.
- 59:01Speaker 2: But I uh, ilian her cinnamon loaf. Out of all
- 59:09Speaker 2: of them, I mean, none of them sounded good to me,
- 59:11Speaker 2: I'm gonna be honest, except for hers, And none of
- 59:14Speaker 2: them really looked good to me except for hers. So
- 59:18Speaker 2: her loaf, I was like, that's it, one hundred percent.
- 59:22Speaker 2: And if I'm wrong, then I know nothing. But I
- 59:24Speaker 2: don't know anything about British baking. So the fact that
- 59:27Speaker 2: she did get what I'm saying, what I'm now learning
- 59:30Speaker 2: about it being a handshake, I'm really happy about that.
- 59:33Speaker 4: Oh wow, Okay.
- 59:34Speaker 1: I'm shaking my head now. Who wow.
- 59:37Speaker 4: Okay, Well that's sorry, going.
- 59:40Speaker 3: Four week four Okay, fine, but just to have it
- 59:44Speaker 3: be your basic cinnamon loaf or whatever, just a cinnamon roll.
- 59:50Speaker 2: Simplicity. This is what I like about simplicity and purity
- 59:55Speaker 2: of any type of dish or ba good. You know,
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: people overthink it, you know, when we've just got so
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: much going on in so many of these things, and
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: I'm like, I can't with this, it's just too much.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: Well, one thing that you're graded on in the tent
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: is your flavors and taking risks.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: And having it be like a.
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: They also celebrate like nailing something basic.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: Right well, because I think take going classic is a risk.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: If you're saying that they are really wanting to see
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: some elevated flavors, that's a risk.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I just it's not a handshake moment.
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: I not sense to hear. I'm not wappy.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: I'm sure it was great, but it was not.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: I'm not to your stand darlings.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Let me know. If you watch Bakeoff and you were like, what.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Uh Sumiya Samya with her karrot palwa it looked gorgeous.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: I love the way hers looked, but it didn't look
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: good to me. Which one looked good to you?
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Let's see, I didn't.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: I thought Jill's chocolate orange loaf cake I wanted to
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: try it, but I wasn't sure.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: I thought it was all. I thought it looked good.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: The lemon and lind seed I was excited about, and
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: then that not wonder.
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: Yeah, there was too much lind seed in there.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Yeah. Also, by the way, first American ever on the Bakeoff?
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: Is that true? Okay? Wow?
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Now there's other like in the British Bakeoff, because there's
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: an American version of the show that is not as.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: Good oh but yeah, okay, what is it called American Bakeoff?
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: Yeah? Great, if something like that, I think it's spit.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: It had like one season and Prue and Paul or
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: no maybe it was just Paul.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: I forget. I didn't enjoy it.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: Okay, Well, then we move on to the Gingham Plaid
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: Secret Challenge, and this was fun. It was a taste
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: in Big challenge where they had to make eight perfectly
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: symmetrical Battenbergs, which I had no idea what the technical challenge?
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Sorry, okay, go ahead, thank you?
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: No, thank you.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: I need to be I need to be led here.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: I mean, can you be my leader? We need a
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: leader for this. We need Queen Bee of Great British
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: Big of This was a tough thing and they obviously
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: had no recipe.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: Who first ever where they taste it and have no
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: recipe because usually they get like the most generic list
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: of like instructions, and then Paul or Prue will be like,
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: here's a clue.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: That's not really that helpful.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: So for them to have the item and taste it
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: and then make it, which over there, that battenberg is
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: like a tasty cake. It's very you know, like it's
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: really common, but like usually like.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: They don't even totally know what it looks like.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: Or they have a vague idea, so that was a twist.
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: Oh wow, okay, exciting.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: They're really raising the stakes. It was great to see
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: very difficult challenge and Georgie one first place, which was
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: exciting to see. Now the show stopper challenge, which is
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: the hyper realistic illusion Cake, and that's always fun because
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: you know, actually we were watching Is It Cake last
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: night with Baby Doorter and we really love that show.
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: Obviously who doesn't.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: But this was a very fun and it just shows you, Wow,
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: they can do a lot here, the chicken, the duck,
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: the canopic jar, the mummy thing, the sewing machine, the jeans,
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: the bowling balls, the stack of books, the leather overnight bag,
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Hazel's handbag, that was amazing, her walking that in that
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: that was great. Nelly's retro ninety shoe, and Ilien's vase
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: with flowers, which was your favorite to look at?
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: To look at, I thought that duck was wild.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: Oh agree, I'm going to have to agree with you. Yeah,
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: that was my favorite.
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: So good. On the on the tree stump.
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it would just looked from every angle there was
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: it just looks so cool.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: I thought it was a smart choice of Mike to
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: choose books, because that's a easier feet to do, like
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: flat you know, symmetrical type challenges in a hurry, and
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: looked very impressive. Now, okay, so John one with his jeans,
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: which I was shocked about. And I don't want Margarita
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: in my cake, So I don't know what's happening here.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: Well, Prue loves a cocktail, so a lot of times
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: they and sometimes they go too far with the booze in.
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: The Oh okay.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: But and then and I feel like it's then it
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: comes down to flavors. So whatever the flavor, whatever his
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: cake tasted, leg must have been amazing. And and a lot
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: of times with like and cake week, especially.
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: Like cake week.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: That's what this on because it'll be the I think,
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: like I forget what next week will be, but the eventually,
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: like there'll be bread week and there will be different week.
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: Is this cake week?
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: This was cake Week?
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: Okay? Cool?
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: So I I think, like, I think it probably comes
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: down to flavors more than anything.
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: But but he didn't Now now, now he didn't win
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: with the jeans.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: He won overall, right, they take all.
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: The bakes into consideration and then they award the star
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: baker from that.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: So if you shook the bed in the first round.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Yes, but insane kill it in the third, that first
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: round is probably still gonna come.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Back to get you.
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: Got it.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: Okay, So he had his chocolate cherry loaf cake, which
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: they obviously must have liked enough, so that makes sense. Okay, great, great, great,
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: I really did. I was stressing out for Georgie that
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: she had to do a second batch of her sponge cake.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: That was bold, but I think it paid off. And
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: then also baking in that tent, the weather aspect of
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: it seems to be really a whole other factor which
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: is very challenging.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Well, it was a cold summer and that's why Hazel
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: had her little hot bottle in her apron. But it
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: usually gets pretty warm in there right about the time
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: that they're like having to deal with like ice cream
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: and everything and ice melting everything.
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: No, that's awful, Yeah, yeah wow.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean they all figure it out. They're
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: just like you know, going back and forth to their
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: freezers and just like trying to maintain temperatures and yeah,
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: but but I mean the tent is its own. It's
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: like such a huge part of the show at this point,
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: Like I don't think they'll ever not be in that tent.
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: So great.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: I love the judges. They're so likable. All the contestants
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: are just so likable and fun. And I like the
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: fact that they had their star baker of the week,
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: which was John, and then they all decided not to
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: send anyone home.
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: Is that regular? Is that normal?
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Well, Jeff was sick, So because of Jeff being.
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: Out, Oh got it, that's why they sided.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: Yeah, they've done that in the past, where it's kind
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: of like that's the fair thing to do if somebody
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: doesn't feel well and isn't there for the bakes.
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: And wait, who is Jeff?
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: I don't even have him read the American the America?
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: Did he?
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: So he didn't end up baking the realistic cake?
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: He was there the first day? Or well he wasn't. Yeah,
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: he wasn't there for the signature Okay, no, wait no, sorry,
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: he was there for he was there for this signature.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: He wasn't there for the technical and the showstopper got it.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: So yeah, And I think in the past how they
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: do it is like you do the signature and the
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: technical the same day, and then the next day you
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: do your show's stopper, and then everybody like goes home
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: and practices for the next week.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Oh okay, and they're at their own house.
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: It's amazing great or.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Like during COVID, I think that there was like a like.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: A another tent. Everyone had their own tent and they
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: went back there outside. Well, well, this is going to
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: be really fun to talk about as the season goes on.
