- 0:28Speaker 1: and my dentist Kevin Pearson. Are you guys looking for business?
- 0:34Speaker 2: Always?
- 0:35Speaker 1: My dentist is the only dentist on the planet. I'm
- 0:37Speaker 1: gonna go out on a limb. The only dentist on
- 0:40Speaker 1: the planet who's killed ten mountain goats. Wow, in this
- 0:45Speaker 1: room where he was raised. Instead of going hunting deer
- 0:48Speaker 1: after school, you would go hunt mountain goats after school.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Where was this Yes, toughest.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Dennis in the world.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Sick go Alaska?
- 0:56Speaker 1: Plug your Dennis place?
- 0:58Speaker 4: Was that guy that shot Cecila Dennis?
- 1:00Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:00Speaker 1: You know not this guy totally differentis I think we
- 1:05Speaker 1: were all thinking the same thing, Brody.
- 1:07Speaker 5: I just got back from South Africa, so that was
- 1:10Speaker 5: a common thing.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah, we also got back from a sheep hunt. Phenomenal dentist.
- 1:15Speaker 1: If you're in anywhere in the vicinity of Galaton Valley,
- 1:18Speaker 1: what's what's your guys?
- 1:19Speaker 5: Place called Kevin Pearson d d S. So Google search
- 1:23Speaker 5: will find me.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:24Speaker 1: If you need a great dentist who's got good hunting stories, is.
- 1:27Speaker 2: He in network for us?
- 1:29Speaker 1: This is a he must be. I don't know. You
- 1:32Speaker 1: must be. Guys. You guys haven't been billing me this
- 1:35Speaker 1: whole time.
- 1:35Speaker 6: Have you Steve a good patient?
- 1:39Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I got a lot of dental problems. Oh okay,
- 1:42Speaker 1: I was down there. I was down there. I got
- 1:45Speaker 1: two fake teeth, and I was down there twice in
- 1:48Speaker 1: the same month getting my fake teeth serviced.
- 1:51Speaker 3: I remember your fixed.
- 1:54Speaker 1: No, he doesn't do that.
- 1:56Speaker 7: Work.
- 1:58Speaker 3: I remember you drop I remember dropping you off his
- 2:00Speaker 3: office one time straight from a shoot because you're too.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Wrote that broke one of my teeth. He fixed that
- 2:05Speaker 1: tooth up. That's not my best tooth. WI would be
- 2:09Speaker 1: my worst tooth, my best tooth. This is a ten
- 2:12Speaker 1: round quiz show with questions from me eaters four verticals
- 2:15Speaker 1: sort of. This is Spencer's writing. I'm reading which are hunting, fishing, conservation,
- 2:22Speaker 1: and cooking, and there is a prize. Me Eater will
- 2:25Speaker 1: donate five hundred bucks to the conservation organization. Of the winners,
- 2:30Speaker 1: choosing Spencer I'm reading Spencer's writing. It says, Spencer, this
- 2:38Speaker 1: is your second time playing trivia. How do you feel
- 2:40Speaker 1: about your chances this time around?
- 2:42Speaker 6: I thought that'd be a little more natural.
- 2:45Speaker 3: That was not natural.
- 2:48Speaker 8: When you read script like that, you're a little more
- 2:52Speaker 8: naturl I.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Just tease a Spencer.
- 2:54Speaker 6: I'm excited. I'm less nervous this time, significantly less nervous
- 2:59Speaker 6: than when Yanni hosted.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Well, you know doctor randall right with doctor Pearson. Two doctors,
- 3:05Speaker 1: two doctors in the room. He's here because he's one
- 3:10Speaker 1: of my many friends that brags up to me how
- 3:12Speaker 1: good he always does.
- 3:14Speaker 6: Now, the last time we brought one of the last
- 3:16Speaker 6: time I.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Brought one of these, Yeah, who's down there bad?
- 3:20Speaker 6: There's a lot of pressure.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Then one of these like at home listeners talking about
- 3:24Speaker 1: all of his nines and tens, and we get him
- 3:26Speaker 1: in the room and what happens.
- 3:28Speaker 6: He threw like a three.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Tough so bear that Muney.
- 3:32Speaker 8: Let me ask you a question. Has this always been
- 3:35Speaker 8: a dream of yours? Or did my guest hosting appearance
- 3:39Speaker 8: spur this on?
- 3:40Speaker 1: What wasn't here for that?
- 3:42Speaker 2: I know?
- 3:42Speaker 1: But no, I've always thought about doing it.
- 3:45Speaker 3: He told he told me before he thought about it.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I don't know about the like the you know,
- 3:50Speaker 1: I don't know about the exact time timeline.
- 3:52Speaker 6: But Steve told me a few weeks ago he was
- 3:54Speaker 6: ready to host. So then I scheduled an episode and
- 3:57Speaker 6: he said, well, wait a minute. I meant I'm ready
- 3:59Speaker 6: in like spirit to host question. Yeah right, you aren't
- 4:03Speaker 6: ready with like ten questions.
- 4:04Speaker 1: But we put a lot of work into it. Each
- 4:07Speaker 1: week here on the show, Spencer reveals a new stat
- 4:11Speaker 1: for the stat of this week. We're updating the Steve
- 4:15Speaker 1: complaint counter, which is me, We're updating my own complaint counting.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I'm surprised to hear that on average, I make five
- 4:26Speaker 1: point three to one complaints per episode of Meat Eater Tribua.
- 4:31Speaker 1: You think that's lower high, Well, I think that they
- 4:33Speaker 1: might be the statistician might be confusing comments. Is this
- 4:37Speaker 1: a complaint? Their feedback?
- 4:40Speaker 4: Oh, I got a question, So now I got a
- 4:44Speaker 4: question for you.
- 4:45Speaker 7: Steve.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Has Spencer tried to shame you on your complaints by
- 4:49Speaker 4: sending you emails that.
- 4:51Speaker 6: Yeah he does, yeah, yeh, yeah, he did that too often.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Of the forty nine episodes I have been on, there
- 5:01Speaker 1: have only been three where I did not have a
- 5:04Speaker 1: single complaint. Not surprisingly, the number of complaints shrinks and
- 5:11Speaker 1: episodes where I perform well and grows in episodes where
- 5:17Speaker 1: I performed poorly. In the five episodes where I complained
- 5:21Speaker 1: less than two times, my average score was seven point two.
- 5:26Speaker 1: In the five episodes where I complained ten or more times,
- 5:31Speaker 1: my average score was five point eight. Here is a
- 5:37Speaker 1: zero percent or question of the week.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Hold on, what was let's let's let's talk about this morning.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Huh what was your highest complaint count? Yeah?
- 5:47Speaker 9: I was wondering how many games over ten or how
- 5:49Speaker 9: many games I had?
- 5:51Speaker 1: I had one point, I had one point two five
- 5:54Speaker 1: or whatever.
- 5:55Speaker 6: Complaints for the question, Yeah, he had five questions or
- 5:59Speaker 6: five episod it was where it was over ten and
- 6:01Speaker 6: I think the max was fourteen.
- 6:05Speaker 1: He must have been a you must have done a
- 6:06Speaker 1: bad job that week.
- 6:08Speaker 2: You're right, that's gotta be it.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Here's our zero percenter question of the week, which tests
- 6:14Speaker 1: how much knowledge players have retained from previous shows. This
- 6:19Speaker 1: puts me in an interesting bind because whenever I'm playing and
- 6:25Speaker 1: you do a zero presenter, you present a zero presenter
- 6:27Speaker 1: that I wasn't present for in the first place percenter.
- 6:31Speaker 1: This zero percent two yeah, this zero percenter. I did
- 6:38Speaker 1: retain and now know, but it doesn't do me any
- 6:41Speaker 1: good because I'm in the hosting slot. Sure, giant water
- 6:48Speaker 1: bucks are more commonly known by this intimidating nickname.
- 6:56Speaker 6: Nobody knows it, I remember.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Still no one knows, Remember Brody.
- 7:00Speaker 6: I don't remember the answer, but you did retain it.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Yes, I wasn't here was it on.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Water dragons?
- 7:07Speaker 3: It was like a daredevil or something.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I got bit by one of these in Kentucky.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Scorpions.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I remember, I remember the answer.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Remember that the incorrect answers were water devils, water scorpions,
- 7:23Speaker 1: water striders, man of war, and hellgermite. But the answer
- 7:26Speaker 1: you were looking for back then and then apparently you're
- 7:28Speaker 1: still looking for now is toe biter.
- 7:32Speaker 4: I don't think it's that intimidating.
- 7:34Speaker 6: I don't know the look.
- 7:36Speaker 8: You suel like a little girl, though little any kind
- 7:40Speaker 8: of little kid. You squealed like a little kid when
- 7:42Speaker 8: you got bit by that.
- 7:43Speaker 6: How does that rank on your like, uh, your ranking
- 7:46Speaker 6: of bites that you've received from from different critters. It
- 7:50Speaker 6: was hurt top three mm hmm, was.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Over real fast? Okay, but not hurt. Not like a bullet. No,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I could never find something.
- 8:01Speaker 3: It's just like a bite, not a sting. Right, so
- 8:03Speaker 3: it soon it stops biting, it stops hurting.
- 8:07Speaker 1: For our housekeeping section today, we're going to give an
- 8:10Speaker 1: update on the Live Tour. Where do I start? The
- 8:18Speaker 1: Live Tour is shaping up to be probably one of the.
- 8:22Speaker 6: Oh I'm excited, where you're gonna go with this?
- 8:24Speaker 3: I don't know what.
- 8:24Speaker 1: You're one of the biggest live events of the centuries. Okay,
- 8:28Speaker 1: one of the biggest live events of the century. The
- 8:30Speaker 1: Live Tour starts December sixth in Denver and ends Where's
- 8:37Speaker 1: the why? Because someone pull up the date.
- 8:40Speaker 6: You're the only one.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Listening to a podcast this morning, a Meteor podcast, and
- 8:45Speaker 3: the same thing happened.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Because there's so many it's so many dates, I can't
- 8:50Speaker 1: keep them all straight.
- 8:51Speaker 3: I understand.
- 8:51Speaker 10: And the funny thing about that seth that said that
- 8:53Speaker 10: was actually the second time we tried.
- 8:55Speaker 3: To record that.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I don't think there's any touring I don't think there's
- 8:58Speaker 1: any touring per person alive that can tell you all
- 9:03Speaker 1: of their tour dates and locations.
- 9:05Speaker 11: I bet we could try if they had seven tour dates.
- 9:08Speaker 6: I bet Denver, Davenport, Kansas City, Des Moines, No, no,
- 9:14Speaker 6: just Detroit.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Got to pull up. The tour starts in December and
- 9:20Speaker 1: December sixth, just in.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Colorado, just outside of Pittsburgh at.
- 9:23Speaker 1: The Come on Phil. We just get it printed and
- 9:28Speaker 1: have it in here.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Next to the other. You should have a pre recording
- 9:35Speaker 3: where he has.
- 9:36Speaker 1: This is like seem like a very good thing to
- 9:39Speaker 1: buy a ticket port.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Hey, you guys need some kind of promo manager or something.
- 9:44Speaker 6: Trust has got to pulled up. Trust read it? Where
- 9:46Speaker 6: are we going all of them?
- 9:48Speaker 7: Sure?
- 9:49Speaker 1: Please?
- 9:50Speaker 12: December sixth, Denver, Colorado.
- 9:52Speaker 1: December sixth and Denver, Colorado. Now at that event we
- 9:56Speaker 1: have we're talking with former broncos Play many times Sacker
- 10:02Speaker 1: of Tom Brady, Derek Wolfe who will be joining us
- 10:05Speaker 1: on stage, and Jordan and Jordan Budd will be joining
- 10:08Speaker 1: us on stage. Chester the Midwester will be opening with
- 10:13Speaker 1: live music. We're gonna make some Chester Concert t shirts
- 10:16Speaker 1: you'll be able to buy and it'll have the eight
- 10:18Speaker 1: dates on the back. So in the future when I
- 10:20Speaker 1: want to refer to this, I'll just have that T
- 10:22Speaker 1: shirt and I can read the dates and venues on
- 10:25Speaker 1: the back of the chest.
- 10:26Speaker 2: You'll have to have two mirrors behind you. You can
- 10:30Speaker 2: read it.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Chester will be opening, so you can uh tell your
- 10:36Speaker 1: your partner, your spouse that you're going to take her
- 10:39Speaker 1: to a concert, which will be true for about ten minutes,
- 10:45Speaker 1: which will be yeah, a prominent singer songwriter, And that
- 10:48Speaker 1: will be true for ten minutes, and then it'll turn
- 10:50Speaker 1: into something else and it'll be hours for she realizes
- 10:54Speaker 1: what exactly happened.
- 10:55Speaker 6: Do we know what chill is that Chester is opening
- 10:57Speaker 6: for every show?
- 10:58Speaker 3: He is great.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Chester's open for every show. That'll be great.
- 11:01Speaker 2: So Chester's with the three of us on the bus
- 11:04Speaker 2: for the.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Whole whole thing. Him and his guitar.
- 11:06Speaker 6: That tour of bus needed some more Chesters.

- 11:12Speaker 1: we go every show. Then we go on to where
- 11:18Speaker 1: Kansas City, Kansas City, Kansas City. I believe Kevin Murphy,
- 11:23Speaker 1: the world's greatest small game hunter, will be joining in
- 11:26Speaker 1: Kansas City. Then we go on what date?
- 11:29Speaker 12: Oh, sorry, that's on December seventh.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Pearl Harbor. I always point that out every time I
- 11:34Speaker 1: promote this.
- 11:39Speaker 12: December ninth is Davenport.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Okay, Davenport, Iowa, on December ninth.
- 11:44Speaker 6: What fun tidbit you got about them, Steve, I'm still
- 11:47Speaker 6: working on that.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Okay, No, they'll be good stuff, a lot of it.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Like I don't have it live at all. Finalized. One
- 11:53Speaker 1: of the quad cities, I think, right.
- 11:55Speaker 6: That is right, Well, I'm done.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Go on.
- 11:58Speaker 12: December tenth is Kalamazoo.
- 12:00Speaker 1: December tenth, Kalamazoo. We've done Kalamazoo before State Theater, and
- 12:05Speaker 1: I've been there. I've been there as a concert goer,
- 12:10Speaker 1: and and I believe when I was there, I told
- 12:11Speaker 1: my story about when I thought I came to believe
- 12:15Speaker 1: that you could not get drunk from jello shots. That's correct,
- 12:19Speaker 1: because the vodka got cooked out of them.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Was proved yourself wrong?
- 12:25Speaker 3: Was that was that the one where you ate beef
- 12:26Speaker 3: jerky off the floor from NUDG?
- 12:28Speaker 1: That was Detroit?
- 12:29Speaker 3: Detroit?
- 12:29Speaker 1: That was Detroit. Yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Gone.
- 12:32Speaker 2: I've heard my first ever show at the State the
- 12:35Speaker 2: State Theater, and.
- 12:35Speaker 6: I've heard kalum Zoo is the hottest ticket right now.
- 12:38Speaker 6: Those are the ones we've sold.
- 12:39Speaker 1: All the VIP tickets are gone. You missed your chance
- 12:43Speaker 1: on vi P already gone.
- 12:46Speaker 12: December eleventh, Detroit.

- 13:00Speaker 3: Ooh, I'm missing my daughter's birthdayn The first one.
- 13:04Speaker 12: Go on December thirteenth is Cleveland, you.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Know, trust it. I hope she never tries to get
- 13:11Speaker 1: a job as like a barker. What was that one again?
- 13:16Speaker 12: Cleveland, Ohio?
- 13:17Speaker 1: Cleveland, Ohio one day, December thirteenth, Cleveland, Ohio or something.
- 13:24Speaker 12: My voice does that.
- 13:26Speaker 6: Who's still employing barkers?
- 13:28Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 13:29Speaker 2: I don't even know what that is like.
- 13:30Speaker 1: If people to stand out, Yeah, they try to get
- 13:33Speaker 1: you to come into the circus to see that. Yeah,
- 13:37Speaker 1: Phil hit us with some more dates.
- 13:40Speaker 3: That was good.
- 13:41Speaker 12: December fourteenth, it's Pittsburgh.
- 13:43Speaker 1: December fourteenth, Pittsburgh. I'll tell you tidbit from that one.
- 13:46Speaker 1: The world's greatest archer, Levi Morgan will be joining on stage.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Local boy.
- 13:52Speaker 6: You think they'll let him shoot his bow in the theater.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna check into that, Okay. I know that Uncle
- 13:56Speaker 1: Teddy got Uncle Teddy got arrested for shooting his bow
- 13:59Speaker 1: and Cleveland.
- 14:00Speaker 6: That'd be good in Cleveland.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I forgot to mention this. In Cleveland, we have we
- 14:06Speaker 1: Got Weights and Fish. Jason Fisher. I'm sitting his jersey's
- 14:12Speaker 1: right over there. I'm gonna bring his jersey back to him.
- 14:14Speaker 1: He doesn't know this. I haven't talked him about it yet.
- 14:17Speaker 1: I want him to put his jersey on and do
- 14:19Speaker 1: we got weights.
- 14:20Speaker 3: And Fish if you listen to the podcast, he knows.
- 14:22Speaker 1: He knows that well, he knows I invited him, but
- 14:25Speaker 1: he doesn't know why I invited him.
- 14:27Speaker 6: That'd be good, pr if we got a citation for
- 14:29Speaker 6: shooting the bow someplace that you couldn't.
- 14:33Speaker 1: And then and then last is Philly, Philadelphia. I don't
- 14:39Speaker 1: have any good tidbits. I have him, but I don't
- 14:41Speaker 1: have any to share yet. Get your tickets now. The
- 14:44Speaker 1: Katie Index. The Katie Index for today's round of trivia
- 14:52Speaker 1: is a hotly contested one.
- 15:00Speaker 6: Do you trust her barometer?
- 15:04Speaker 1: She was very angry, and she said that now I'm
- 15:09Speaker 1: gonna look like such a dumb ass.
- 15:11Speaker 3: And all that it's a one.
- 15:15Speaker 1: So our winners should get probably like a seven or eight.
- 15:20Speaker 1: And with that we're onto the game of trivia. Play
- 15:22Speaker 1: the drop, phil.
- 15:26Speaker 6: Look, I need to know what I stand to win everything.
- 15:31Speaker 1: How's that just tend to win everything?
- 15:41Speaker 3: Demon suckers?
- 15:43Speaker 1: Okay? Question number one, as always his multiple choice. One
- 15:49Speaker 1: of these states does not have reported incidences of manatees Massachusetts, Hawaii, Florida,
- 16:07Speaker 1: in Texas. One of these states does not have reported
- 16:12Speaker 1: incidences of manatees Massachusetts, Hawaii, Florida.
- 16:19Speaker 3: And Texas.
- 16:26Speaker 8: Do you feel like you're gonna pitch a fun game
- 16:32Speaker 8: where a lot of people would get a lot of questions?
- 16:34Speaker 2: Right is it gonna be?
- 16:35Speaker 1: I think it's right dead nuts down the middle. I
- 16:37Speaker 1: think it's just like Spencer.
- 16:39Speaker 6: Okay, and I'd.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Say, well, yeah, I'd put this as on the easier
- 16:44Speaker 1: end of the spectrum.
- 16:45Speaker 6: Oh so you think there's like an eight or nine
- 16:46Speaker 6: in here today?
- 16:47Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised to have a perfect game here today.
- 16:49Speaker 6: Okay, Wow, everybody ready? Do you have a favorite question?
- 16:57Speaker 1: Attention to how you determine when you reveal the answer?
- 17:00Speaker 6: Just watch the room see when they're done writing. If
- 17:02Speaker 6: the banter dies down, then I got to warn some
- 17:04Speaker 6: folks that we're running out of time.
- 17:07Speaker 1: We're running out of time.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Rand taking that one.
- 17:14Speaker 1: See your answers, Seth Massachusetts, Randall Hawaii, trusta Hawaii doctor,
- 17:22Speaker 1: Kevin Hawaii, Corey Hawaii. Hold it, you're disqualified because you
- 17:31Speaker 1: just flipped it up now and you crossed off well
- 17:33Speaker 1: he wrote and wrote that, come on, he already.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Had it written.
- 17:38Speaker 4: Usually write down three or four answers and then ask
- 17:40Speaker 4: you why you.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Kind of weirdly like lifted it up kind of late
- 17:44Speaker 1: for it.
- 17:45Speaker 4: We can look at the film.
- 17:47Speaker 6: Let's go to the film for the drama and.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Spencer with Hawaii. The room did very well. That's a
- 17:56Speaker 1: spencer ism.
- 17:57Speaker 6: It's a good question.
- 17:58Speaker 1: The room did very well. Correct answers Hawaii trick question, No,
- 18:03Speaker 1: not trick at all. They live in the Atlantic and Caribbean.
- 18:07Speaker 3: I was kind of going off a water temp thing.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Yeah, well you know what this isn't even in my tidbit.
- 18:13Speaker 1: There's been a couple of Massachusetts and one they actually
- 18:15Speaker 1: had to rescue and bring it back down south because
- 18:18Speaker 1: the water is so cold.
- 18:20Speaker 6: Far north they've gotten.
- 18:22Speaker 1: In twenty twelve. That's is far north, Okay. In twenty twelve,
- 18:28Speaker 1: a fifty three year old Florida woman was arrested after
- 18:32Speaker 1: riding a manatee at De Soto State Park in Florida.
- 18:37Speaker 1: She was captured in a photo committing the act, and
- 18:41Speaker 1: a misdemeanor arrest warrant was issued in Panelas County. They
- 18:45Speaker 1: picked her up while working at a Sears rail fifteen dollars. Well,
- 18:56Speaker 1: your question two, hold on.
- 19:00Speaker 4: To fish with this guide in Belize they call him
- 19:02Speaker 4: sea cows down there. He told me when they were kids,
- 19:05Speaker 4: they used to eat those things, kill them and need them.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I haven't met anybody that's ever told me that. That's interesting.
- 19:11Speaker 6: What years that woman arrested twenty twelve?
- 19:18Speaker 1: It's kind of ad Yeah. Two, everybody knows baby rabbits
- 19:27Speaker 1: are called bunnies or kits. Well, what are baby hairs called?
- 19:43Speaker 1: This is another one I would have got right.
- 19:54Speaker 6: How did your network of folks that you've reached out
- 19:57Speaker 6: to about getting questions? Did they come for you real?
- 20:00Speaker 1: Finger tried coupled HM. One of them was pretty good,
- 20:04Speaker 1: But I already had my already had my.
- 20:07Speaker 6: Uh multiple choice, already have my multiple choice.
- 20:09Speaker 1: He had a great multiple choice. I'll share it with you,
- 20:12Speaker 1: great multiple choice. But I was pretty committed to the
- 20:15Speaker 1: man previously.
- 20:17Speaker 6: You told me that you were not going to respect
- 20:19Speaker 6: the verticals if it came out and you didn't have
- 20:22Speaker 6: if you didn't have any fishing questions or cooking questions.
- 20:25Speaker 6: You were just gonna move the never.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Gave you the thought. Okay, not announced.
- 20:28Speaker 6: Do we know the balance.
- 20:29Speaker 1: There's a lot of animal questions. Okay, just pay attention. Okay,
- 20:34Speaker 1: everybody ready reveal your answers. Kids for Seth, Randall's calling
- 20:41Speaker 1: them fauns, Trust is calling a fun Kevin pupps, Corey
- 20:45Speaker 1: Peach fuzz already cubs. Yanni's got it. I'm gonna give
- 20:49Speaker 1: it to Yanni lev And Spencer has fun. I'm giving
- 20:54Speaker 1: it to Yanni. Oddly, here's the tidbit. Oddly, pine squirrels
- 21:05Speaker 1: are an important predator of snowshoe hair leveretts. In nineteen
- 21:11Speaker 1: ninety four, a researcher in Alberta found that over twenty
- 21:15Speaker 1: percent of Leverett mortality was caused by pine squirrels. And
- 21:20Speaker 1: here's something trippier. Everyone knows that snowshoe hairs have large
- 21:25Speaker 1: amplitude cycles, often in seven year intervals, meaning population booms
- 21:31Speaker 1: on a seven year interval swing. It's not well understood
- 21:35Speaker 1: why these cycles do not occur south of the boreal
- 21:39Speaker 1: forest in the Rockies. This is going to be inspiring.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Perhaps someday a listener out there might help solve this mystery.
- 21:49Speaker 3: It's good.
- 21:51Speaker 6: Number three, someone's antenna is up right now thinking about that.
- 21:54Speaker 6: What are the adults called then hairs?
- 21:57Speaker 1: So you know altricioal and pre kocial hairs are pre
- 22:01Speaker 1: kocial they're born follyferred eyes open rabbits so like a
- 22:06Speaker 1: snowshoe hair. A jack rabbit, which is actually a hair,
- 22:11Speaker 1: are pre kocial rabbits. Cottontail rabbits are electricial. They're born
- 22:17Speaker 1: hairless and blind.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Is that the male rabbits called.
- 22:22Speaker 6: Bucks and dose?
- 22:23Speaker 1: Yeah? Question three? Everyone knows that Alaska and Hawaii. Listen,
- 22:32Speaker 1: everyone knows that Alaska and Hawaii are the forty ninth
- 22:37Speaker 1: and fiftieth states, respectively. What in the hell was the
- 22:42Speaker 1: forty eighth state?
- 22:43Speaker 6: Which category is this?
- 22:44Speaker 1: Geography? Okay, Arizona is a great state to try to
- 22:49Speaker 1: draw hunting tag in.
- 22:52Speaker 3: They're trying to ask, Siri.
- 22:53Speaker 6: Yes, prompted.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Sorely for the forty state.
- 23:02Speaker 10: Sh I gotta say, the vibes in this room are foreboding.
- 23:16Speaker 3: There's I feel forty eight? Yes? Thanks?
- 23:21Speaker 1: Why is so much attention given to the forty ninth
- 23:23Speaker 1: and fiftieth states?
- 23:25Speaker 3: Because they're not attached.
- 23:27Speaker 5: Forty the biggest onetached.
- 23:33Speaker 1: They're like afterthoughts.
- 23:35Speaker 6: Now do you know forty seven, forty six, forty five
- 23:38Speaker 6: off the top of your hand?
- 23:38Speaker 1: Okay, I didn't know the answer to this. Okay, I
- 23:41Speaker 1: would have gotten this one.
- 23:43Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Maybe I would have guessed it.
- 23:46Speaker 6: It's a hint.
- 23:57Speaker 1: I went and visited the forty ninth state.
- 24:01Speaker 6: I don't know if I don't know if this question
- 24:03Speaker 6: would have flied if I would have asked it.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Are you ready for the everybody ready?
- 24:10Speaker 8: No?
- 24:11Speaker 7: Not quite?
- 24:19Speaker 1: This might be the hardest one. Okay, I didn't know it.
- 24:25Speaker 2: I'm ready.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Did you reveal your answers? Seth says Nevada, Randall, Nevada, Terresa, Louisiana,
- 24:33Speaker 1: Kevin Close with New Mexico, Corey, Wyoming, Brody, Oregon, Giannis, Nevada, Spencer, Oregon.
- 24:40Speaker 1: The correct answer is Arizona.
- 24:43Speaker 6: What was your commentary at beating about Arizona?
- 24:45Speaker 1: Gave the answer away? What the hell I said Arizona?
- 24:49Speaker 1: You said, what's the relevance? I said, Arizona is a
- 24:52Speaker 1: good place to apply for hunting tags.
- 24:55Speaker 6: Okay, Wow, that is man, that's quite the trick.
- 25:00Speaker 11: This is a masterclass.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Now we're going to think about that a lot for
- 25:04Speaker 3: the next You Ready for the tidbit?
- 25:08Speaker 1: The factoid?
- 25:09Speaker 6: Well, I call it that, but people have criticized that
- 25:12Speaker 6: because apparently definite and the definition of factoid is like
- 25:16Speaker 6: kind of loosely, loosely factual but not one hundred percent factual,
- 25:22Speaker 6: So they recommend tidbit, tidbit or just a fact factoid
- 25:27Speaker 6: is a little too loose.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Here's a tidbit for you. September fifteenth, twenty twenty two.
- 25:33Speaker 1: So about a year ago, police were investigating a burglary
- 25:37Speaker 1: at a suspected abandoned home in Arizona and found a burglar,
- 25:42Speaker 1: all right. They also found a mummified body in the bathtub.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Neighbors thought the woman had moved away, but she was
- 25:51Speaker 1: just dead and dried out in her tub. And this
- 25:55Speaker 1: other old lady was stealing the deceased stuff in Arizona.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Isn't this one like the tid four? Like you give us,
- 26:06Speaker 3: you give us the year became a state and all
- 26:08Speaker 3: that kind of stuff.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I'm not I like it.
- 26:11Speaker 6: Or I thought the woman was like killed by a
- 26:17Speaker 6: bear or something, and that's.
- 26:18Speaker 1: That's just something from Arizona. Four In what month of
- 26:25Speaker 1: the year is National Hunting and Fishing Day? In? What
- 26:32Speaker 1: month of the year is National Hunting and Fishing Day?
- 26:49Speaker 3: I should know this?
- 26:51Speaker 13: Why because the local sports I grew up, Skidi Greek
- 26:58Speaker 13: Sportsman's Club always out a National Hunting and Fishing Day
- 27:02Speaker 13: celebration and my family used to make like a big
- 27:05Speaker 13: kettle of bean soup for it every year.
- 27:08Speaker 11: Well what time of year did they cook the beans?
- 27:12Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 27:13Speaker 3: That's backwards.
- 27:16Speaker 6: It's kind of a hint. I was gonna say, great,
- 27:22Speaker 6: that's how Randall does so good.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Now you think about he approaches this in that fast.
- 27:27Speaker 6: Seth is now changing his answer because he just dies,
- 27:32Speaker 6: how do you like them beans?
- 27:33Speaker 3: Seth?
- 27:35Speaker 1: He doesn't have anything written.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Down I did. Now I'm changing in What month of.
- 27:40Speaker 1: The year is National Hunting and Fishing Day?
- 27:43Speaker 6: Are you having fun, Steve? I'd rather be playing, Okay,
- 27:51Speaker 6: I'd rather be hosting. I think so it works out well.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Everybody ready, yes, show your answers please. Seth gets it
- 27:58Speaker 1: right with September, Randall September, Tresa, November, Kevin September, Corey
- 28:05Speaker 1: one month off with October, Brody dob with September. Jana's
- 28:09Speaker 1: two months off with November, Spencer, one month off with October.
- 28:15Speaker 1: National Hunting and Fishing Day takes place the fourth Saturday
- 28:19Speaker 1: of every September. Congress passed the bill unanimously in nineteen
- 28:27Speaker 1: seventy two. Let me tell you what else has happened
- 28:31Speaker 1: in nineteen seventy two, the band Kiss was formed and
- 28:37Speaker 1: McDonald's launched the egg McMuffin.
- 28:42Speaker 4: Question five, you got a favorite Kiss song?
- 28:46Speaker 5: Oh?
- 28:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that O seth O seth. I hear him calling.
- 28:52Speaker 1: This is the listener question of the week with a
- 28:55Speaker 1: question from Isaiah toll PhD Ooh, Isaiah, you'll see that
- 29:06Speaker 1: I had to tweak your question a bit, but we'll
- 29:08Speaker 1: still be sending you a signed book as a way
- 29:10Speaker 1: of saying NaNs Now, Spencer, can we switch to a
- 29:14Speaker 1: signed board game?
- 29:15Speaker 6: Once we have the board games, you'll.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Switch to that. Okay, let Spencer know if you'd like
- 29:20Speaker 1: to wait and get a signed board game instead of
- 29:22Speaker 1: a book. What piece of trapping equipment might be required
- 29:33Speaker 1: by law to be equipped with a deer stop? What
- 29:45Speaker 1: piece of trapping equipment might be required by law to
- 29:50Speaker 1: be equipped with a deer stop?
- 30:00Speaker 3: It's a great question, it is.
- 30:02Speaker 1: That's why this is the listener question of the week.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Yeah, did you choose it or Spencer?
- 30:06Speaker 1: I picked it nice.
- 30:08Speaker 3: That's a great question.
- 30:08Speaker 1: I Spencer gave me access to listener questions and he
- 30:11Speaker 1: assigned me. He's he's behind, and I understand why the
- 30:16Speaker 1: volume is. There's a lot, it's great and there's so
- 30:18Speaker 1: much good stuff there. You can't just you got to
- 30:20Speaker 1: pay attention. He assigned me August one to fifteenth, and
- 30:23Speaker 1: he wouldn't mess around in August one to fifteenth. I
- 30:29Speaker 1: pulled inspiration for a few and only I only got
- 30:32Speaker 1: up to like August five. I started August one and
- 30:35Speaker 1: I only got up to August five.
- 30:36Speaker 11: When I was done, I have August fifteenth through thirtieth.
- 30:40Speaker 6: Randall's gonna host an episode coming up as well, and
- 30:42Speaker 6: about it.
- 30:42Speaker 9: Already reveal that No, it's good, but uh, I happened
- 30:46Speaker 9: to that happened to be in that time period was
- 30:49Speaker 9: when the episode of Trivia with your Prime Meridian question
- 30:53Speaker 9: was released. So about half of the emails are objecting
- 30:56Speaker 9: to the phrasing of your question about the prime Meridian.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I didn't host that episode.
- 31:01Speaker 6: I did, but it was a question you called me about.
- 31:04Speaker 6: You felt so strong, so I.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Don't think I dictated to him the exact phrasing.
- 31:09Speaker 6: Now, I specifically approved it with you before the question,
- 31:14Speaker 6: right anyway, did I did?
- 31:16Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 31:16Speaker 11: No, that's thanks for pointing that out.
- 31:18Speaker 1: But then it was struck.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Later it was struck.
- 31:21Speaker 6: We had two questions.
- 31:23Speaker 1: A piece of trapping equipment might be required by law
- 31:25Speaker 1: to be equip with a deer stop. Answers, please, oh,
- 31:29Speaker 1: set snare or cable restraint? Correct Randall snare, trust him clamp,
- 31:34Speaker 1: Kevin pan Corey conna Bear spelled wrong, Brody snare, Janna snare,
- 31:42Speaker 1: and Spencer conna Bear spelled correctly. The correct answer is
- 31:45Speaker 1: a snare or cable restraint. This isn't my tidbit, but
- 31:50Speaker 1: a deer stop is a farrell that you crimp onto
- 31:53Speaker 1: a snare so that it can only close to a
- 31:55Speaker 1: minimum diameter.
- 31:57Speaker 6: Well, what's a feral stop?
- 32:00Speaker 3: M hmm.
- 32:01Speaker 1: So the snare fires and closes, but it'll it'll be
- 32:04Speaker 1: set by law that it can't be less than a
- 32:06Speaker 1: two and a half inch circle, meaning a deer's hoof
- 32:09Speaker 1: is never gonna it's never gonna close.
- 32:11Speaker 2: It's just like a ring around the wire.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Yeah, the preventsive closing all the way, so the lock
- 32:16Speaker 1: can't close infinitely.
- 32:18Speaker 6: Have you ever seen that happen?
- 32:20Speaker 1: No, Because I use deer stops a.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Lot of states we have to have deer stops also
- 32:25Speaker 3: have two hundred and fifty pounds breakaways too, So.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Yeah, this state doesn't require a stop, but it requires
- 32:29Speaker 1: a breakaway.
- 32:30Speaker 3: The Pennsylvania like had a breakaway. So if the deer
- 32:34Speaker 3: was like deer bear whatever got caught, sure it could
- 32:38Speaker 3: still break away with two hundred fifty pounds of pressure.
- 32:40Speaker 1: No, here is my tidbit. Let's say I told you
- 32:44Speaker 1: I was making a car a snare using seven by
- 32:48Speaker 1: seven three thirty second aircraft cable. What would that mean.
- 32:51Speaker 1: It would mean that there's seven strands of wire formed
- 32:56Speaker 1: into each strand then I took seven of those in
- 33:00Speaker 1: eight of those, so it's seven strands made of seven
- 33:03Speaker 1: wires each in the diameter would be three thirty seconds
- 33:07Speaker 1: of an inch. If snaring fox, you want an eight
- 33:10Speaker 1: inch loop eight inches off the ground. Raccoons you want
- 33:14Speaker 1: a six to eight inch loop three to five inches
- 33:16Speaker 1: off the ground, Coyotes you want a ten to twelve
- 33:19Speaker 1: inch loop ten to twelve inches off the ground. And
- 33:21Speaker 1: for beaver, you want a ten inch loop just two
- 33:24Speaker 1: to three inches off the ground.
- 33:26Speaker 4: What about those feral questions in Hawaii? Didn't you know
- 33:30Speaker 4: someone who snared?
- 33:31Speaker 1: Yes, I don't know. I don't know the loop size,
- 33:33Speaker 1: but I'm guess it's a mighty big loop size.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Big cable too.
- 33:39Speaker 10: We've got Tressa with one point Apncer with one, Corey
- 33:43Speaker 10: with one point just butted right in there, Seth and
- 33:46Speaker 10: Kevin have two points apiece, and all tied up in
- 33:49Speaker 10: first place are Randall, Jannison Brody, who have three.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Wow a nail in What states does the Appalachian Trail
- 34:09Speaker 1: begin to end? I'll accept either the southern terminus of
- 34:13Speaker 1: the Appalachian Trail or the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail.
- 34:19Speaker 3: We only need one.
- 34:20Speaker 1: I'll accept either.
- 34:21Speaker 11: And we just need the state, not the physical landmark.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Either state. You have a one in twenty five of
- 34:26Speaker 1: getting it right. Just a randomly rite down a state.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Can we write do you write down Hawaii?
- 34:32Speaker 3: Can we write down two states? And if we're double? No, like,
- 34:37Speaker 3: can we write down two states if one's wrong?
- 34:39Speaker 1: No? No no no no no no no no. If
- 34:42Speaker 1: you wrote down both the rights, I'll be impressed, But no,
- 34:45Speaker 1: you can't be putting down like shotgun in it.
- 34:47Speaker 4: We even't had this one before or something.
- 34:49Speaker 1: No check.
- 34:50Speaker 6: We had a question that was about it's how many
- 34:53Speaker 6: states does the Appalachian Trail run through for the tiebreaker?
- 34:56Speaker 6: But we have not had this.
- 34:57Speaker 1: These are all checked, don'torry.
- 35:00Speaker 4: It reminded me.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Of something.
- 35:06Speaker 1: In what states does the Appalachian Trail begin and end?
- 35:10Speaker 1: I will accept either the southern terminus or the northern
- 35:14Speaker 1: terminus of the Appalachian Trail.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Or appellation a relation Appalachian.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Read our Long Hunters project, our our oral history of
- 35:29Speaker 1: the Long Hunters. We're using Appalachian.
- 35:32Speaker 3: That's right.
- 35:34Speaker 4: My wife went to Appalachian State.
- 35:36Speaker 3: I think it's like a Mason Dixon thing.
- 35:40Speaker 5: I read an account of a guy who did this
- 35:42Speaker 5: trail twenty five years ago, and it was fun, it
- 35:47Speaker 5: was entertaining. He said the best part was the hamburgers
- 35:50Speaker 5: when he hit civilization. And I was enjoying the book.
- 35:53Speaker 5: And then at the end he got to somewhere and
- 35:58Speaker 5: maybe I'll wait till because there might be a clue
- 36:01Speaker 5: in this.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Ready to show your answers. Seth Maine, Randall, Georgia, Tresa, Tennessee,
- 36:12Speaker 1: Kevin Maine Corey, Tennessee, Brody Maine, Jannis, Maine, Spencer, New York.
- 36:19Speaker 1: The Appalachian Trail begins. It's well, depending which way you're going,
- 36:24Speaker 1: runs between Maine and Georgia. Specific points in Maine and Georgia.
- 36:30Speaker 11: Mount Catatin, Yep and Stone Mountain.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Can't remember. Oh for this questions tidbit, Let's take a
- 36:38Speaker 1: look at the Civil War. Maine provided the highest per
- 36:45Speaker 1: capita ratio of soldiers to the Union Army, with eighty
- 36:49Speaker 1: thousand enlisted fighters. Over one in ten would die. Maine's
- 36:56Speaker 1: losses about nine thousand, four hundred killed. Georgia sent about
- 37:02Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty thousand men into combat for the Confederacy. Surprisingly,
- 37:08Speaker 1: about five thousand Georgians fought for the Union. Of those
- 37:12Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty thousand men, somewhere between eleven thousand
- 37:18Speaker 1: and twenty five thousand Georgians died on the battlefield or
- 37:23Speaker 1: from wounds suffered. There Question seven.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Nothing just media to finish.
- 37:32Speaker 1: The guy loved, Oh yeah, the guy yeah, the burgers.
- 37:34Speaker 5: And then at the very last chapter he gets to
- 37:37Speaker 5: Maine and complained about moose hunts. Ruined the whole book,
- 37:40Speaker 5: just how it shouldn't happen. It was an anti hunting story.
- 37:43Speaker 1: I don't remember that invested if it was read the end?
- 37:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I read the.
- 37:49Speaker 1: End, burst to make sure.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Do you remember who wrote I don't.
- 37:51Speaker 5: It was a comedian till back in the woods.
- 37:55Speaker 3: That was it.
- 37:56Speaker 1: He got pissed about moose hunt.
- 37:58Speaker 5: Yep, it ruined the whole story, was the last.
- 38:00Speaker 6: Is it more common to go south to north or
- 38:02Speaker 6: north to south?
- 38:05Speaker 11: You can start earlier, you can start earlier in the south.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Well, guys never coming on the show, I can tell
- 38:10Speaker 1: you that question. Seven. In the twenty first century, so
- 38:18Speaker 1: the century we're in now, there have been seventy three
- 38:25Speaker 1: fatal bear attacks in North America in the wild, caused
- 38:32Speaker 1: by three species of bears, in order of most fatal
- 38:39Speaker 1: attacks to least fatal attacks. List the bear species.
- 38:51Speaker 2: So you want three names here.
- 38:54Speaker 1: An order of deadliest to least deadliest in the twenty
- 39:00Speaker 1: first century in the wild in North America.
- 39:11Speaker 14: Twenty first century.
- 39:22Speaker 6: Wow, side of the table's confident.
- 39:29Speaker 4: How up to date is this thing? Because there's been
- 39:32Speaker 4: a lot of action lately.
- 39:33Speaker 1: I trust me. What do you originally wrote this? Was it.
- 39:40Speaker 6: Wrote it last night?
- 39:48Speaker 1: Oh? Everybody ready?
- 39:49Speaker 3: Oh?
- 39:49Speaker 1: Hold on? In the twenty first century, there have been
- 39:54Speaker 1: seventy three fatal bear attacks in North America in the wild,
- 39:57Speaker 1: caused by three species of bears, in order of most
- 40:00Speaker 1: fatal attacks to least fatal attacks. List the bear species,
- 40:09Speaker 1: show your answers, Seth grizzly black Polar, Randall grizzly black Polar,
- 40:19Speaker 1: Trusse Polar, grizzly black, Kevin black brown Polar, So black,
- 40:27Speaker 1: grizzly polar, they're brown bears, Corey black, grizzly Polar.
- 40:34Speaker 3: What I really messed up?
- 40:37Speaker 1: You mean? What? So, just for listeners at home for confusion, H,
- 40:44Speaker 1: grizzly bears and brown bears are the same thing, same species, Brody,
- 40:50Speaker 1: grizzly black, You got yours messed up?
- 40:53Speaker 15: Yeah, I know, I left Polar out, Grizzly, grizzly black Polar,
- 41:00Speaker 15: Spencer grizzly black Polar.
- 41:05Speaker 1: There were thirty seven fatal grizzly attacks, thirty two fatal
- 41:10Speaker 1: black bear attacks, and four fatal polar bear attacks, so
- 41:15Speaker 1: the correct answer would be grizzly black polar. For the tidbit,
- 41:22Speaker 1: you know how I said, there are seventy three bear
- 41:24Speaker 1: attacks so far this century. Seventy three is the smallest
- 41:30Speaker 1: number with twelve letters, and it's spelled out name.
- 41:34Speaker 6: That's good. This is your best question. In fact, I
- 41:38Speaker 6: like it.
- 41:38Speaker 11: It's like the Mad Hatter version.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Question eighth reminds me of you don't know about I
- 41:49Speaker 1: was we're on a normal path to normal.
- 41:53Speaker 11: This reminds me of the opening scene and dances with
- 41:56Speaker 11: wolves when he shows.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Up at the the guy that kills himself.
- 41:59Speaker 11: Yeah, mad, the mad colonel.
- 42:01Speaker 3: That's sort of your For.
- 42:03Speaker 8: A second there, I couldn't come up with the third bear.
- 42:05Speaker 8: I'm like, really, we've got three bears on this continent.
- 42:08Speaker 8: And then it finally came to me.
- 42:11Speaker 1: There was a double there was a double attack. A
- 42:14Speaker 1: woman and her child were killed. Polar bear this century.
- 42:20Speaker 1: This animal species urine. P This animal species urine is
- 42:30Speaker 1: sometimes used as a hallucinogenic after it consumes the fly
- 42:38Speaker 1: A garrick mushroom. This animal species urine is sometimes used
- 42:45Speaker 1: as a hallucinogenic after it consumes the fly agaric mushroom spencer.
- 42:53Speaker 3: You got it.
- 42:53Speaker 6: I got this one, but I think I'm out of
- 42:57Speaker 6: the game. This is question eight filled.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Where's that thing? Bro?
- 43:02Speaker 1: I'll give you a hit, don't give it.
- 43:04Speaker 7: No, Oh, man, how.
- 43:16Speaker 11: How specific do we need to be?
- 43:17Speaker 1: I wasna write the animal down?
- 43:24Speaker 3: Yeah, mm hmm. What do you do?
- 43:28Speaker 1: There's a scorecard update now after this.
- 43:30Speaker 6: Questions question, I would do this if you got me
- 43:38Speaker 6: the urine from this thing?
- 43:40Speaker 1: Is that right?
- 43:41Speaker 3: Sure?
- 43:44Speaker 1: Maybe someone can send some over.
- 43:53Speaker 3: How commonplace drugs have become?
- 43:58Speaker 1: Reveal your answer something like that and seth deer not
- 44:02Speaker 1: quite litill too loose? Randall Toad said, Kevin a heel
- 44:08Speaker 1: a monster, Corey deer, yeah, Brody reindeer yeah, Giannis reindeer, spencer, cariboo.
- 44:19Speaker 1: I'll accept reindeer, cariboo. I will not accept. You said,
- 44:21Speaker 1: have to be specific though, well it's not a servid.
- 44:25Speaker 6: His answer is right down the animal said, yeah.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Uh. As as the tibet. For this one, I'll point
- 44:33Speaker 1: out that the taxonomous I think we should. Taxonomists regard
- 44:37Speaker 1: all reindeer and caribou as one species. So even though
- 44:42Speaker 1: you have woodland caribou and barren ground caribou, if you
- 44:46Speaker 1: asked a geneticist, the geneticist would come and tell you
- 44:49Speaker 1: that Europe's reindeer North America's caribou are all one giants,
- 44:57Speaker 1: one giant meta species. At your tidbit.
- 45:01Speaker 6: I think there's also some like Santa Claus lore that's
- 45:04Speaker 6: been a signed to people drinking the urine of reindeer caribou,
- 45:09Speaker 6: and that has to deal with something with their flight
- 45:11Speaker 6: or Santa in general. It's all, uh, it's all tied together.
- 45:14Speaker 1: So the flyer garrick is a red mushroom with white spots.
- 45:17Speaker 1: If you're watching cartoons, there's a mushroom. There's a nine
- 45:20Speaker 1: chance that mushroom is a flyer garrett.
- 45:21Speaker 6: And we do have them in Montana.
- 45:24Speaker 1: I found some fly garricks one time growing in Seattle
- 45:28Speaker 1: between the sidewalk and the street.
- 45:30Speaker 7: Mm hmm uh.
- 45:33Speaker 1: What else about fly gerricks?
- 45:35Speaker 6: If you want to consume them for the hallucigenetic qualities,
- 45:39Speaker 6: it's recommended that you boil them, get rid of that water,
- 45:42Speaker 6: and then boil them again, and then it is safe
- 45:45Speaker 6: to consume.
- 45:45Speaker 1: This statement or or give it to your reindeer and
- 45:52Speaker 1: then drink it. There we go.
- 45:55Speaker 10: I want to edit the word safe out of the
- 45:59Speaker 10: scorebrod update Phil, Yeah, I love to tressa. Corey Spencer
- 46:04Speaker 10: and Kevin are out of the running for the wind. Yes,
- 46:09Speaker 10: Kevin Spencer had three points apiece.
- 46:11Speaker 3: They're up there.
- 46:12Speaker 10: And we've got Seth with four points, Randall and Brody
- 46:15Speaker 10: with five, and Giannis is in first place with.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Six and by looking ahead, he's not a bad physician.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Question nine. This Pine Bluff, Arkansas Natives Company, which is
- 46:39Speaker 1: named after himself, was the first to mass produce archery
- 46:46Speaker 1: sets and equipment, and he was among the first archers
- 46:53Speaker 1: admitted into the Archery Hall of Fame. This hind Bluff,
- 47:00Speaker 1: Arkansas Natives Company, which is named after himself, was the
- 47:07Speaker 1: first to mass produce archery sets and equipment, and he
- 47:10Speaker 1: was among the first archers admitted into the Archery Hall
- 47:15Speaker 1: of Fame?
- 47:26Speaker 3: Does he still live there?
- 47:39Speaker 1: Quiet? Good content? It's a sense of dread.
- 47:46Speaker 3: As Steve slowly SIPs from his mug.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Seth has now.
- 47:54Speaker 3: I've got an educated guess.
- 47:59Speaker 1: You got, Cory, you do?
- 48:11Speaker 6: I just gotta be Katie. Will you tell us what
- 48:20Speaker 6: questions she got?
- 48:21Speaker 5: Right? Oh?
- 48:25Speaker 1: Yeah, he's going back to the white boar.
- 48:28Speaker 11: We let this one cook too long. But maybe he's
- 48:34Speaker 11: changing it to the wrong answer.
- 48:35Speaker 1: He might be, yeah, only one of the right. Reveal
- 48:39Speaker 1: your answers, please, sorry. This Pine Bluff, Arkansas Natives Company,

- 49:32Speaker 1: By the company by Ben Pearson. The company's fiftieth anniversary
- 49:37Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety. In nineteen eighty eight, so the company
- 49:41Speaker 1: had been in business fifty years. In nineteen eighty eight,

- 50:12Speaker 1: was forty two, his wife Hillary was forty one, his
- 50:18Speaker 1: future girlfriend Monica just fifteen.
- 50:25Speaker 7: It's good.
- 50:27Speaker 1: I think.
- 50:30Speaker 2: There's no false sense of anticipation.
- 50:32Speaker 3: Is the winner? How's that possible, Steve.
- 50:38Speaker 9: Because he gave you those extra five minutes answer question ten.
- 50:44Speaker 3: Let's play anyways.

- 51:20Speaker 6: Cleaned up on?
- 51:20Speaker 1: Keep it too.
- 51:29Speaker 3: I'm nervous. Can we talk about what we have to
- 51:30Speaker 3: go do later after work? Today?
- 51:34Speaker 1: Not a good time?
- 51:36Speaker 6: What do you gotta do?
- 51:38Speaker 8: We're going to well, Garretts already cooked the chili, but
- 51:41Speaker 8: we're going to serve chili and hang out with the
- 51:43Speaker 8: MSU Bobcats football team.
- 51:45Speaker 6: Which part of that makes you know?
- 51:47Speaker 1: Garrett made thirty six gallons.
- 51:49Speaker 3: Of chili, holy shit, and his aunt baked and.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Fifty corn muffins. Each person present will be allowed to

- 52:00Speaker 11: I think there's one hundred did you say one hundred
- 52:02Speaker 11: pounds of potato salad.
- 52:03Speaker 1: And there's a lot of concern about them eating through
- 52:06Speaker 1: the chili that they would eat through.
- 52:08Speaker 9: A sort of chili ideas is that they'll be encouraged
- 52:11Speaker 9: to make chili dogs rather than everybody get a court
- 52:14Speaker 9: to a half gallon of chili.
- 52:17Speaker 11: We stretched out by serving chili a.
- 52:21Speaker 6: Dog college rosters like ninety three kids or something.
- 52:24Speaker 1: The name of this national forest, which covers almost four
- 52:28Speaker 1: hundred thousand acres in the South, is much more widely
- 52:31Speaker 1: known as a name for a NASCAR race track.
- 52:33Speaker 3: Those boys can probably eat too serving chili.
- 52:35Speaker 1: Answers please Daytona, Seth Randall, Talladega, trusted Daytona, Kevin Talladega,
- 52:44Speaker 1: Corey Talladega, Brody Tuskegee. See where he was going, Yanni Talladega,
- 52:51Speaker 1: Spencer Talladega. The correct answer is Talladega National Forest, created
- 52:56Speaker 1: in nineteen thirty six by FDR Who. Here's the tidbit,
- 53:06Speaker 1: the first sitting president to fly in an airplane. Wow,
- 53:11Speaker 1: really they can for playing trivia.
- 53:16Speaker 8: I want to know how if Kevin had a good
- 53:19Speaker 8: time on his first time, I had time.
- 53:21Speaker 5: I waited for the bone until the ninth question, never
- 53:23Speaker 5: think it would be my name.
- 53:24Speaker 1: But oh well, oh I didn't even think. Oh was
- 53:27Speaker 1: that the bone? No I forgot the bone.
- 53:29Speaker 11: That was unintentional.
- 53:32Speaker 3: No bone.
- 53:33Speaker 4: I forgot the bone about deer teeth or something.
- 53:36Speaker 3: No I was waiting for that.
- 53:37Speaker 1: I really was cementum.
- 53:39Speaker 8: Yeah, you might we can maybe invite Kevin back for
- 53:43Speaker 8: a normal game when Spencer's hosted.
- 53:46Speaker 6: Which we recorded about five minutes.
- 53:48Speaker 1: I like this, Steve, so let's hear that you do
- 53:54Speaker 1: that five minutes. Do you know what the tiebreaker was?
- 53:57Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 53:58Speaker 12: There?
- 54:00Speaker 2: Should we just play it? Let's just play it?
- 54:01Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 54:02Speaker 1: Yeah, because let's just play it.
- 54:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 54:05Speaker 1: How many states allow suppressors for hunting? This is a tiebreaker,
- 54:08Speaker 1: so closest, uh, closest gets it, closest gets it. How
- 54:12Speaker 1: many states allow suppressors sometimes known as silencers for hunting?
- 54:23Speaker 1: How many states allow suppressors or silencers, which is a
- 54:27Speaker 1: misnomer for hunting. Let's make it quick, since it's just
- 54:32Speaker 1: purely bonus show your answers. Please Seth with eleven, Randall
- 54:39Speaker 1: twenty nine, Trusts with five, Kevin with twenty five, Corey
- 54:42Speaker 1: with seven, Broughdy with nine, Janis with fifty, and Spencer
- 54:45Speaker 1: with thirty six. I believe it's forty one.
- 54:52Speaker 7: Wow.
- 54:53Speaker 3: Who would have won? Yanni Spencer?
- 54:56Speaker 7: Oh damn.
- 54:57Speaker 1: On June first, Republican Governor Phil got signed S. Two
- 55:02Speaker 1: eight one into law, making Vermont, of all places, the
- 55:08Speaker 1: forty first state to allow the use of suppressors while hunting. Sweet,
- 55:16Speaker 1: let me ask you this, how many states can't you
- 55:18Speaker 1: do it?
- 55:21Speaker 8: It's I would like to donate Meteor's money.
- 55:27Speaker 2: I guess my winnings. I guess I get to.
- 55:30Speaker 8: Direct to how for how for Wildlife, Howell dot org.
- 55:36Speaker 8: There's a big fight coming up home in Colorado. There's
- 55:41Speaker 8: the right to haunt lions and bobcats, uh and trophy
- 55:46Speaker 8: hunting in general. As the as the opposition is uh labeling,
- 55:51Speaker 8: it's gonna be up for a referendum, I think, and
- 55:54Speaker 8: like it's like within a year, right, Well.
- 55:56Speaker 4: They got to get the signatures, the signatures which.
- 55:59Speaker 1: All go off to Whole Foods and get.
- 56:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:03Speaker 8: Anyway, So I was on a zoom call with a
- 56:07Speaker 8: bunch of people and howl dot org last night, and uh,
- 56:10Speaker 8: they had some people that worked directly with legislators there
- 56:14Speaker 8: to give testimony on how well howl dot org has
- 56:18Speaker 8: been working for them. Where like they've they've gotten so
- 56:22Speaker 8: many emails sent, so many phone calls made when they've
- 56:25Speaker 8: asked howel to help out that they actually have legislators
- 56:28Speaker 8: or the office personnel legislators coming to them and saying, look,
- 56:32Speaker 8: you guys want can you please turn off the howl
- 56:35Speaker 8: machine because we don't want to field any more emails.
- 56:39Speaker 8: So it was great to hear that. It was great
- 56:42Speaker 8: to hear that it's working and and that and that
- 56:45Speaker 8: people from the opposition are testifying about what this howl
- 56:50Speaker 8: thing is. And so it's gotten so big that the
- 56:52Speaker 8: opposition is like, oh my gosh, like we don't have
- 56:55Speaker 8: a clear pathway. This howel thing is working. So I
- 56:58Speaker 8: want to bring more light to them and and have
- 57:00Speaker 8: everybody you know go check them out, follow him on Instagram,
- 57:04Speaker 8: give them some money. And then when you get the
- 57:07Speaker 8: Instagram thing that says send a message.
- 57:10Speaker 5: Do it.
- 57:12Speaker 1: Yep. When you're walking into Whole Foods to buy your
- 57:14Speaker 1: meat and I's some person standing out there, havn't you
- 57:19Speaker 1: sign this stupid thing? Don't sign the damn thing. And
- 57:23Speaker 1: then when it does all get signed and it comes
- 57:25Speaker 1: to the ballot, you have to beat in the ballot.
- 57:27Speaker 1: People got to keep hope because just because you get
- 57:29Speaker 1: a ballot initiative doesn't mean it'll pass. Main be a
- 57:32Speaker 1: ballt initiative around bear hunting Montana. Beat a ballt initiative
- 57:36Speaker 1: around trapping soundly beat it. You guys will beat this
- 57:41Speaker 1: thing Rocking Mountain do Jeff fun I think the whole
- 57:46Speaker 1: beginning of the end made it for Colorado. Might have
- 57:48Speaker 1: been John Denver.
- 57:49Speaker 6: Okay.
- 57:50Speaker 1: The other thing I'm starting to notice this, the states
- 57:54Speaker 1: that most quickly and enthusiastically embrace legal weed are the
- 58:00Speaker 1: states that most enthusiastically embraced hunting bands. Washington, Colorado, Alaska
- 58:11Speaker 1: pretty quick. That was an outlier. Something about people that
- 58:17Speaker 1: don't want to hide in the bushes when they smoke weed.
- 58:22Speaker 3: They're like.
- 58:25Speaker 1: Used to hide. Owners are used to hide in the bushes,
- 58:27Speaker 1: So I don't mind smoking.
- 58:31Speaker 6: How long until you host another show?
- 58:33Speaker 1: I don't think I'm gonna do it again. I'd rather play.
- 58:37Speaker 6: Okay, well next week.
- 58:40Speaker 1: It's like who wants the umpire? Our umpire is glad
- 58:44Speaker 1: to be there? I don't know.
- 58:46Speaker 3: Good job, Steve, that's a good one.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Thank you, guys.
- 59:00Speaker 10: Uh on the seal gray shine like silver in the sun.
- 59:12Speaker 1: Ride, Ride, Ride on along, Sweetheart. Were done, beat this
- 59:22Speaker 1: damn horse to death, taking a new one and ride.
- 59:30Speaker 1: We're done beat this damn horse today, So take your
- 59:36Speaker 1: new one and ride on.
