The Prayer Meeting · Compass Point

• 0:04
Hi, I'm Pete Smith. I've been sharing on Compass
• 0:06
Point this week some meditations of Mr. Baxter on Acts 12 to day.
• 0:11
Let's consider the importance of the prayer meeting.
• 0:13
The believers have been called together for that purpose.
• 0:16
Prayer was made without ceasing of the church and to guard for
• 0:19
him. The prayer meeting is the
• 0:21
highest point of the church's corporate fellowship and the
• 0:24
most vital focus point of the church's warfare.
• 0:27
There never was a time when prayer meetings were more needed
• 0:29
than today. They are the spearhead of all
• 0:32
true spiritual attack. In verse 12, we note many were
• 0:35
gathered together praying. There's no sadder feature today
• 0:38
than the neglect of the prayer meeting in all too many places.
• 0:41
  Neglect has become total desertion.
• 0:44
In these end times, when the powers of evil are besieging us
• 0:47
on a scale and with an intensity unprecedented, there's a real
• 0:52
need to match it with a vast volume of prayer.
