- 0:00Believing is a skill. There's a story behind that.
- 0:05This is your daily message from Chadmore 1187 to upgrade your
- 0:10mental game today by telling yourself a better story.
- 0:12Because the most important story you hear is the story you tell
- 0:15yourself. This message is dedicated to
- 0:17Joanne Elizabeth Smith on her 70th birthday and is still
- 0:20playing on the basketball court. She played in a basketball
- 0:23tournament this year. Amazing.

- 0:41Here's the upgrade. You think the things you believe
- 0:45are set and static, but upgraded thinking realizes your beliefs
- 0:47are skills that can be trained. Here's the story.
- 0:52The night before young David stepped onto the valley floor to
- 0:55face Goliath, three of his friends came to his tent to say
- 0:59goodbye. They had already concluded that
- 1:01he was going to die out there. When they asked David how he
- 1:04could possibly remain competing against a giant who is a 40
- 1:07point favorite, David simply looked at them and said, I have
- 1:11my slingshot and Goliath's so big, how can I possibly miss?
- 1:16This story perfectly illustrates the incredible mechanism of a
- 1:19core belief. A core belief is the
- 1:21foundational lens through which a person interprets reality.
- 1:25We don't see the world the way it is.
- 1:27We see the world the way we are. Core beliefs function as
- 1:30internal filters that govern our perception.
- 1:33A core belief does not have to be objectively true to be
- 1:37believed. I'm sure you know people who
- 1:39live their lives on bogus beliefs.
- 1:41Because perception becomes reality.
- 1:43A core belief alters how we process every challenge.
- 1:47This is not woo woo psycho Babble.
- 1:49Core beliefs do not appear out of nowhere.
- 1:52They're built through repetition, focus, and internal
- 1:54narration. You become what you think about
- 1:57most of the time. Every thought held repeatedly in
- 2:01the mind acts as a seed planted in a neutral field, bound to
- 2:04produce a harvest of its own kind.
- 2:07Don't believe me? I can prove it.
- 2:09I can instantly make you happier.
- 2:12Want to take on my challenge? Think about your favorite
- 2:15animal. Maybe you have a pet or a
- 2:18friend's animal that came to mind.
- 2:21Now I don't expect you entered into a state of euphoria, but
- 2:24you felt a little happier. We've told the Cherokee story
- 2:28before of the two wolves fighting inside every person,
- 2:31one representing fear and anger, the other representing joy and
- 2:34courage. When asked which wolf wins, the
- 2:37wise elder replies. The one that you feed.
- 2:41Be careful what you say to yourself.
- 2:43You're listening. By constantly feeding certain
- 2:46thoughts, you reinforce underlying core beliefs.
- 2:50The encouraging news is that this means core beliefs are
- 2:53skills, mental habits that can be learned and proved, trained
- 2:57and mastered. Core beliefs are essential
- 3:00because what you believe ultimately determines how you
- 3:03behave. They function either as
- 3:05stumbling blocks that paralyze action or stepping stones that
- 3:08propel progress. When someone operates under a
- 3:12limiting core belief, they focus on fear and hold back.
- 3:17An empowering core belief aligns subconscious actions with goals,
- 3:21allowing an individual to step forward with full commitment.
- 3:25It's a truism at this point. Whether you think you can or
- 3:28think you can't, you're right. The better story to tell
- 3:33yourself is my core beliefs are skills I control.
- 3:37Ultimately, life presents everyone with giant obstacles.
- 3:41Whether those obstacles defeat you or elevate you depends on
- 3:45the mental filter you bring to the fight.
- 3:48Changing your life does not require shrinking the giant.
- 3:51It requires feeding the right wolf and choosing a core belief
- 3:55that turns an intimidating threat into a target too big to
- 3:58miss. Now you may agree with my
- 4:01message today, or not. I've seen that there are two
- 4:03types of people in the world, those who just think it and
- 4:07those who just do it. I don't want these messages to
- 4:10be thought provoking, but change provoking.
- 4:13Don't just think it, ink it. Start battling your limiting
- 4:17beliefs today by writing down the antidote belief.
- 4:21Write it 100 times today. Write it 1000 times.
- 4:25Your core beliefs are a skill you can train, so start acting
- 4:29as if you believe today. Tell me a story of thinking 1
- 4:33can or thinking 1 can't to be being true to From

- 4:40them. Would you like me to make you
- 4:43instantly feel a little happier?
