- 0:41The f A Hey, y'all, welcome to today's show. I'm gonna try
- 1:03and keep this one a bit briefer, a bit more brief today, and
- 1:08some of you may know I've discussed it before. I have a very old
- 1:14dog. He's a little border Collie that's been with me for ooh about sixteen
- 1:19years, and he's essentially blind and deaf, and apparently he can't tell the
- 1:25difference between day and night anymore. So he's had me away since four am.
- 1:30I didn't go to bed early last night. So yeah, it's going
- 1:36to take a lot of concentration a good strong cup of coffee to get through
- 1:38this one. Let's pick up. Let me get a sip of this coffee
- 1:42here. Good dark roast. I love a dark roast. Good dark roast
- 1:51was just whole milk in it. I rarely ever used cream, and it
- 1:57being later in the day, I went ahead and put a shot of bourbon
- 1:59in it. Why not. I've been awake for many, many hours and
- 2:05I deserve it. I think it may lubricate my tongue a little bit,
- 2:08but honestly, it's just a little a drop, you know, not a
- 2:13whole lot. It really does bring out the flavor of dark coffee. It
- 2:16gives it the chocolate vanilla type flavorings and really well, actually, as an
- 2:24herbalist, I can tell you it's probably better for you than those sweetened,
- 2:29artificially sweetened creamers that people buy. You know, if you're gonna have Irish
- 2:34coffee, have Irish coffee. If you're gonna have a Cafe Cabano, Cafe
- 2:38cabano, you know, if you're gonna have a little simbuca, have the
- 2:42real stuff. You know what I'm saying. God gave us the fruits of
- 2:45the earth, and he's certainly invented or intended the yeasts that are omnipresent in
- 2:52our atmosphere to convert sugars into alcohol. And don't forget, Jesus was a
- 2:57winemaker. It is a wine maker, and apparently has wine in heaven.
- 3:01So I'm looking forward to that, all right. So the person who is
- 3:07questioning the priest says, but why keep insisting that the Catholic Church is the
- 3:15only church? And they answer quite plainly, because Jesus said, if man
- 3:19will not hear the church, let him be to the as a heathen.
- 3:21He did not say, if a man will not hear a portion of the
- 3:23Gospel in man made substitute churches, and the Protestant answers, this is from
- 3:31radio replies as usual. By the way, I'm not sure if I mentioned
- 3:35that you cannot deny that you're bigoted in your exclusive claims, and they said
- 3:40bigotry is blind zeal. It is not bigotry to say that the thing cannot
- 3:45be true if the opposite has proven direct correct Truth must exclude error, and
- 3:51the Protestant answers, we are entitled to our opinions as you are to yours.
- 3:57You are and you might be able to think out ideas just as valuable
- 4:01as ourselves. But here it is not a question of human opinions. It
- 4:04is a question of God's teaching. And neither your opinions nor our opinions have
- 4:10any value if they contradict that Catholic doctrine. Is not our opinion, but
- 4:15His doctrine, who sent the church to teach in His name. And we'll
- 4:21just follow up on that point. The Protestant answers, but are you not
- 4:26obliged to law of charity? Christ said, doing to others as you would
- 4:29have them do unto you, And they answer, we are obliged by the
- 4:32law of charity, But charity does not forbid one to tell the truth.
- 4:36Very important in our day and age when people think they can a boy can
- 4:40be a girl, and a man can be a cat or whatever. You
- 4:45see some odd things these days. Girls walking around with tales. I'm not
- 4:48sure how others are attached. Yeah, best not to think about it.
- 4:54It forbids blaming people who, through no fault of their own, do not
- 4:58know the truth. The Catholic Church, which wish Protestants to admit that she
- 5:02is right if she were not right, and since and since she can prove
- 5:06that they are not right, she is not doing to them what she would
- 5:11not have them do to her in denying the correctness of their religion. Well,
- 5:20I guess we'll just do one more, because it's very brief. The
- 5:23person then answers all the same, Your claims are insulting to Protestants, and
- 5:27they are human beings just as Catholics, And they answer, the Catholic Church
- 5:30has to condemn Protestantism as a system, but she desires to insult no single
- 5:35Protestant that Protestants or human beings does not prove that their religion is true.
- 5:40Otherwise the fact that Catholics are human beings would also prove their religion true.
- 5:45As a matter of fact, in so far as Protestants are human beings,
- 5:47we Catholics love them, and it is our very interest in them which makes
- 5:50us want to give them the best religion of the world, which is Catholicism.
- 5:56Protestantism is simply not good enough for them. And that's true. You
- 6:00know, as a convert to Catholicism, I can tell you that if you
- 6:04go where the truth leads you, you have to actually explore the historical documents.
- 6:10You have to read the writings of the Early Church. You have to
- 6:15use your reason, you have to use evidence in fact, and if you
- 6:20do, you will become Catholic. And when you become Catholic, you will
- 6:25find the fullness of the truth. You will find the grace of the sacraments
- 6:29that will change your life. They certainly change mine. You will find the
- 6:35surest path to Heaven. And you know, I do this podcast for two
- 6:41reasons. It's certainly not to hear myself speak. I actually don't listen to
- 6:46my own podcasts. Yes, I listen just enough to edit it, but
- 6:49I neither listen to my own podcasts, nor read my own books. I've
- 6:53written thirteen books, I've never read any of them. You know, I
- 6:57don't even buy my own books, and I can get author copy pretty cheap.
- 7:00I don't want them to me a shelf with my own books on.
- 7:03It would be like a little shrine to myself, and I don't do that.
- 7:09Am I proud that I've written thirteen books? Yeah, I mean,
- 7:11but not in a way that it's self aggrandizing. I feel that I've accomplished
- 7:15something worthwhile. I've written books about herbal medicine and how people can be healthy
- 7:19and gardening and how they can grow good food and herbs, and Catholic books,
- 7:26and I really would like to lead Protestants to the Catholic Church and to
- 7:31strengthen the faith of Catholics, and especially to give Catholics the ammunition the facts
- 7:39they need to defend the faith, because that's what's so troubling. You meet
- 7:46a ton well I have. I mean, yeah, I live in North
- 7:49Carolina, and yeah, I went to a certain Southern Baptist university in Virginia.
- 7:54You meet a ton of anti Catholics who are armed with all kinds of
- 7:59arguments against church. None of which are true. I don't. I have
- 8:05not met in person more than three or four Catholics who know the doctrine and
- 8:11teachings of the Catholic Church enough to defend their faith against the errors of Protestantism,
- 8:20and so many. I mean, you know, you spoke with an
- 8:24elderly lady just the other day and she said her daughter left the church.
- 8:26She's become a born again evangelical Protestant. And I asked her why, and
- 8:33she said because her friend went to her and said, you must be born
- 8:37again, and she didn't know if she was born again or not. Okay,
- 8:41every Catholic should know that Bible verse you must be born of water and
- 8:45the Spirit, meaning you must be baptized, and you must be confirmed to
- 8:50the Catholic Church, where you receive the fullness of the of the Holy Spirit.
- 8:56Our poor cataquisus a specially in regard in defending our faith, not just
- 9:01against our faith, not just against Protestants, but against communists and secularists and
- 9:07the evils of the world, against Muslims, Islam, against any number of
- 9:13competing ideologies, transhumanism, transgenderism. It is what's making Catholics vulnerable any Catholic
- 9:26who knows the truth of the faith, the Bible, the Catechism, some
- 9:33of the works of the early Church fathers, a few doctors of the Church,
- 9:39you know, Augustine A. Quintas, and you know, just and
- 9:43just a little bit of them, and not you don't have to sit there
- 9:45and read The City of God. I mean, come on, just if
- 9:50any Catholic who knows the Bible and the Catechism is well equipped to defend the
- 9:56Catholic Church, to defend the Catholic faith against all errors, of all false
- 10:01religions and ideologies, and they are all by definition faults because there's only one
- 10:05truth. There's only one church that give us the Bible, there's only one
- 10:11church authorized to teach in the stead of Jesus Christ, to enact the Sacraments.
- 10:16We have everything we need. We're just you know, I'm gonna blame
- 10:24it on the baby Bember generation. They you know, went to college and
- 10:28mostly abandoned their faith or decided to be country club Catholics, who you know,
- 10:33associate with all kinds of people and never talk about politics or religion.
- 10:39Then they got divorced five or six times and their kids were raised by feral
- 10:43dogs in the public education system. What are you gonna do? We as
- 10:48Catholics must do so much better in our time to raise up intelligent, in
- 11:00formed, catechised, educated Catholic children, and to do the same for adults.
- 11:05We need to correct our brothers and sisters. You know, Jesus said,
- 11:09if a man will not listen to the Church, let him be to
- 11:11us a heathen. No Protestant listens to the church founded by Jesus Christ,
- 11:16the only church that existed for fifteen hundred years or so until Martin Luther and
- 11:20Antichrist came up with his heresies. And what did he take him to?
- 11:28A mostly illiterate populace that could not read the Bible for themselves, So they
- 11:31didn't know when he changed the words of Jesus to say the exact opposite of
- 11:35what Jesus meant. They didn't know when he cut out books of the Bible.
- 11:39They didn't know when he got out there and railed against the papist as
- 11:43he called the Catholics. He said he was the true Christian doing the work
- 11:48of God, and they believed him. That's essentially where we are now.
- 11:54We live in the time when people have the most access to information they've ever
- 12:00had the entire history of humanity and are almost as ignorant. Well, many
- 12:07are as ignorant as you know. I mean, in North Carolina, more
- 12:11than fifty percent of high school students graduate unable to do basic math and functionally
- 12:16illiterate. Do you think these people are reading, well, the Bible for
- 12:22start with, but serious books about doctrine and theology. No, they are
- 12:28a prey to whom ever, whatever charismatic person comes along and sways them.
- 12:33They are ripe fruit for the devil. And that is the fertile ground of
- 12:39Protestism. And it is our job, you know, to be the sowers
- 12:43in the field, like the parable of the sowers when Jesus, you know,
- 12:46said, And yes, sometimes our seeds will fall infertile ground, but
- 12:52still we have to be those sowers. We have to take the Gospel to
- 12:56all corners of the earth. And the only legitimate godspel is that truth of
- 13:01the Catholic Church. Because there's only one church. There's only one truth.
- 13:05Therefore there can only be one church because all of the churches disagree with each
- 13:09other and with the Catholic Church. So I mean, we have we are
- 13:16duty bound to do this so that's why I'm doing this, and I hope
- 13:22you'll help me in this effort. I hope you will forward my podcast.
- 13:28Well, first of all, if you haven't as of yet, please sign
- 13:31up for my Uncensored Catholic newsletter on substack. The link is here in the
- 13:35show notes. It's just justin Carrol dot substack dot com or something like that.

- 13:48reflections and my podcast to everyone you possibly can. If you're not on my
- 13:56newsletter, just share the podcast with your friends, share whatever I put out
- 14:00there. Let's try to get as many people subscribed and interested and informed as
- 14:09possible. I think, well, like I said, I think it's our
- 14:13duty. And I'm not saying I do the best job, but you know,
- 14:18I am trying, and I've had some you know, pretty good discussions
- 14:24before, and I think I'm having an impact. You know. Like I
- 14:28said, I'm doing my best, and I do everything beginning with prayer,
- 14:33and I hope it works out. So now let's get to foes. Sparraga,
- 14:37who had the exact same goal in about eighteen ninety when he wrote The
- 14:41Exhausted Catechism of the Catholic Church. He realized that most of the people in
- 14:48he was Czech He was Czechoslovakian, and he was writing to you know,
- 14:52the very Slavic countries around there, and Germans and such. He did not
- 14:58believe that most of the populous was well educated enough, well read enough to
- 15:05understand the more formal documents issued by the Vatican. And that is more true
- 15:09today than ever before, because his writing is a little more complex and educated
- 15:18than most people today would understand. But I think we can all acknowledge that
- 15:22if officially issued document by the Catholic Church, if they intended it to be
- 15:31more dense and confusing, they could not accomplish that goal. For some reason,
- 15:39there is no one in the Vatican public relations whoever writes this stuff and
- 15:46sends it out that can write a concise, understandable statement. I don't know
- 15:52what the problem is. It's like with every single document they try to show
- 15:56off their vocabulary of secure archaic words. It's ridiculous. I mean, you
- 16:04literally have to have a translator to understand what the Pope just said about whatever,
- 16:11or what, you know, the statement of the bishop's issue. I
- 16:15don't know who they think they're impressing, they're certainly not doing the job of
- 16:21teaching the flock of Christ when they issue statements that only they can understand.
- 16:29Frankly, I think our priests and bishops and cardinals, et cetera need a
- 16:36whole lot less college education, a whole lot less university. You know,
- 16:41why did you know why was Pope jump on a second so great? Well,
- 16:45he was an educated man. He was also a man who worked in
- 16:48the salt mines, you know, in communist Poland, as you know,
- 16:53had to put vasilina on his face so a skinned it and freeze off in
- 16:56the cold. I mean, he was a man of the people and he
- 17:00could communicate with and identify with regular people. He loved to hike, and
- 17:07he was a great youth pastor. He was. He loved Frank Sinatra's music.
- 17:12I mean, he was a very straightforward boy when he told you what
- 17:18he thought about communism or liberals in the church and et cetera. Abortion man,
- 17:23he didn't mince words. He was no Pope Francis h. Pope Benedict
- 17:30was maybe a bit more scholarly, but he was just as terse and to
- 17:33the point. Yeah, he was a bit more flowered his flower flowery in
- 17:41his language, then Pope John Paul the second. But we need men,
- 17:47I mean, like Pope Pious with the tent who I mean. I mean,
- 17:53Frankly, if if if he was in a debate with Pope Francis today
- 17:57and Pope Francis to justifying blessing homosexual couples and everything else he's doing, I
- 18:03think he probably would have jumped up and started beating him with his cane.
- 18:07I mean, you know, these were real men who knew how to speak
- 18:14in a way that they could be understood. We don't need a pope or
- 18:19a church hierarchy that talks like the head of the Federal Reserve. I mean,
- 18:22it's ridiculous. We need people who can just be plain spoken. You
- 18:29know, maybe we do need an African pope. I mean, you know,
- 18:30I've known some great African priests who just boo. They just tell it
- 18:36exactly like it is, and they do it with humor and compassion, and
- 18:40they're good natured. Maybe that is what we need. I don't know.
- 18:44We can't count on the Germans anymore. Look at the Germans and bishops,
- 18:48and we certainly can't count on the Americans. Gosh. Yeah, Cardinal Dolan
- 18:55the other day was on Maria bar Romes show, and he twisted himself every
- 19:00which way to justify the horrible things Catholic Charities is doing, aiding the cartails
- 19:08in facilitating human trafficking and the rape of women and children and slave labor.
- 19:15Yeah. I used to have a lot more respect from Cardinal Dolan than I
- 19:21do after seeing him on Maria bar Roma a couple days ago. Yeah,
- 19:23I still think he's a kind man. I think he's a good man.
- 19:26He's very good humored. He's an intelligent man. But he didn't stand up
- 19:32for what was right when you start out, when your first action is to
- 19:37break the law, when you know the Church and the Bible says you're supposed
- 19:41to obey all just laws of a country, and a country certainly has a
- 19:45right to set its borders and say we have a legal and safe way to
- 19:52come into the country. Facilitating organized crime and the most horrible abuses of children
- 20:03under the guise of compassion is abominable. I wouldn't want to have to answer
- 20:11for that. You know, when he gets to heaven, he's gonna have
- 20:14to answer for that. And he's gonna have to answer a lot more than
- 20:17a member of the laity, and I wouldn't want to have to answer for
- 20:19that. So let's see what if our Sparrago said the Life and Times of
- 20:26the Redeemer. This is point number four to this chapter about Jesus. The
- 20:32Redeemer lived some nineteen hundred years ago and remained thirty three years on the earth.
- 20:36Remember this book was written in eighteen ninety. In the early Christian times,
- 20:41the date was reckoned by the consuls of the year. From the time
- 20:45of the Great Christian Persecution under Diocletian. The Christians began to reckon their years
- 20:49from the ascension of that tyrant the era of the Martyrs. Dionysius exceed it's
- 20:57got two years in it. I always stumble over anything with two yews.
- 21:00In five twenty five was the first to reckon from the annunciation of our Lady,
- 21:06I e. The conception of Christ. Charlemagne introduced the custom of dating
- 21:10from the birth of Christ. There is an error, however, of four
- 21:14years, so that Christ was actually born four years before year one of the
- 21:18Christian era. The time preceding Christ is known that as that of the Old
- 21:22Testament of the Old Law, that following as the New Testament of the New
- 21:26Law. The word testament is appropriate as expressing the will of God, recalling
- 21:30the legacy of the Promised Land to the Jews and to Christians, the one
- 21:36sealed with the blood of animals and the other with the blood of Christ.
- 21:38The work of the Redeemer was confined for the most part to Palestine. Palestine
- 21:42is the ancient Cana Shanan as he spells it, I guess, known later
- 21:49as Judea or the Land of Promise, or the Holy Land made holy by
- 21:53the presence of Christ. It's small extent. It was only about the half
- 21:57the size of Switzerland. We know what's going on in the news today.
- 22:03It's a little bit bigger than one might think. Even though it's not that
- 22:08big. It's small extent, it has many counterbalancing advantages. In central position
- 22:15adapted it for the spreading of the True religion. Its fertility in the midst
- 22:19of the surrounding desert made it independent of other nations, and secured its inhabitants
- 22:23from undesirable intercourse with the Heathen. The population at the time of Our Lord
- 22:29was about five million, of whom one million lived at Jerusalem. At the
- 22:33present day, the whole population is only a half million, and Jerusalem hardly
- 22:37twenty five thousand. Well, that was before the establishment of the modern state
- 22:41of Israel and the return to Israel and all that Palestine is situituated. And
- 22:45wouldn't you love to go back to eighteen ninety before the World Wars. You
- 22:49think things are bad now, imagine being in the trenches in World War One
- 22:55for no apparent reason. America had no reason to get involved in World War
- 22:59One. Had we not, there probably would not have been in World War
- 23:03Two. They probably would not have been a Hitler and a Mussolini and a
- 23:07Stalin. Millions and millions of lives would have been saved. Had we sat
- 23:15out World War One and said that's a European problem, maybe that's a lesson
- 23:18we ought to take today. Just because the English get involved in something doesn't
- 23:23mean we need to. We just bought two wars to get away from the
- 23:27English. What the hell are we doing defending England? Seriously, there's nothing
- 23:34but the global it's actually that's the Masonic Order. The only reason we got
- 23:40involved in World War One was because of the Masons. Because our president was
- 23:44a Mason. Because our Congress and senators were mostly members of the Masonic order,
- 23:48and the English et cetera and French were Masons. You know, let's
- 23:56look at history as it actually is. And Catholics certainly had no reason to
- 24:00be American Catholics had no reason to be involved in that war, and European
- 24:06Catholics certainly had less reason to be involved in that war. I mean,
- 24:15Archduke Ferdidim who cares? I mean some little Baltic country. Let that sink
- 24:21in for a minute, and you know how I feel about. I'm totally
- 24:25opposed to the Russian war against Ukraine. But again, is that America's role
- 24:34or is that a European problem anyway? The boundaries of Palestine are Phoenicia on
- 24:44the north, the Desert on the east, Arabia on the south, and
- 24:47Mediterranean on the west. The Jordan, a river varying from eighty to one
- 24:51hundred and fifty feet in width, the scene of the passage of the Jews
- 24:53and the Baptist of our Lord, flows in a turbid yellow current and passes
- 24:59through the little Lake of Murhmam Murrham and the Lake of Genosareth. I think
- 25:07is Swayne pronounced it. I've never been there, you know. Yeah,
- 25:11I grew up from a family that didn't have the money to travel the world
- 25:15a whole lot and do all these pilgrimages that many Catholics kind of take for
- 25:18granted. It's like, you've never been a Rome. No, I worked
- 25:22my way through college. Okay, you've never been to Israel. No.
- 25:27I had to take care of a grandmother who had a heart attack while I
- 25:30was in college. You know. Anyway, sometimes I think, you know,
- 25:37cradle Catholics kind of take for granted a lot of the benefits they get.
- 25:41You know, a lot of those trips are subsidized by their churches,
- 25:45their parishes and such. Not all of us get to be so what I
- 25:51we call it cosmopolitan. Some of us have to work for a living,
- 25:56and the seen of so many of Christ's labors. And finally to the Dead
- 26:03Sea, the site of Sodom and Gemara. On its way, it receives
- 26:07the brooks of Carathan Cedron. The divisions of Palestinians are in the south Judea,
- 26:12in the center Samaria. The divisions of Palestine are in the south Judea,
- 26:18in the center Samaria, in the North Galilee, and in the east
- 26:21beyond the Jordan, Porea, Iteria, and the districts of Trachonitis. I
- 26:26guess the inhabitants of Judea were the firmest adherents to the true faith. Those
- 26:32of Samaria had given themselves up to the worship of Idols, and the Galileans,
- 26:36especially in the north, were in part Pagans, despised by the Jews
- 26:40as well, on that account for their uncouth dialect. The most important city
- 26:45of Palestine was Jerusalem, where the temple stood. Jerusalem, I eve the
- 26:48city of Peace, is situated on four hills, of which the highest is
- 26:52Zion, lying westward of the Hill of Acre, with the Pool of Siloh.
- 26:59Lying south. To the north is Mount Mariah, on which the temple
- 27:03stood, and further still to the north is the Hill of Bezetha. I
- 27:07guess the modern town westward of Mariah's Goil Gotha or Calvary. These hills lie
- 27:15between two valleys, of which the westward is called Hennan or Help, because
- 27:21there the Jews used to sacrifice their children to Moloch, and the eastern the
- 27:25Valley of Josephat or Judgment of God. On account of the tradition that God
- 27:30would judge the world. There. To the east is the Valley of Joseph.
- 27:33To the east of the Valley of Joseph is the amount of Olives and
- 27:36the garden of Gassimone. Jerusalem was in existence at the time of Malchisa dec
- 27:41who reigned there about two thousand BC. It became under David about one thousand
- 27:45BC, the residence of the Jewish kings. About four hundred years later,
- 27:49in five eighty eight BC, it was destroyed by Nebu Choden. You know,
- 27:56I have trouble that name. We discussed it yesterday. How many syllables
- 28:00can you pack into one name? Restored again about fifty years later about five
- 28:03point thirty six, and again destroyed dose b C by the way a game
- 28:07destroyed by the Romans under Titus Titus in the year seventy a d. The
- 28:14Temple in our Lord's time was a magnificent and imposing building of white stone,
- 28:18and an outer court, the court of the gentiles, and an inner court
- 28:22of the priests containing the ultar of burnt offerings. Within this court again was
- 28:26the temple proper building of about thirty meters in length, ten in breadth and
- 28:32fifteen at height. With a flat roof of cedar. The temple proper consists
- 28:37of the Vestibule, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies. The
- 28:40walls of the last two places were covered with solid plates of gold, and
- 28:44the two chambers were separated by a veil. The veil of the Temple and
- 28:48the Holy of Holies between two great golden cherubin lay the arc of the Covenant,
- 28:52containing the Tables of the Law, aaron staff and the Mana. And
- 28:56here in a cloud rested the Majesty of God, the Sachina. I think
- 29:00it's Sachina. The temple was built by Solomon about one thousand BC, and
- 29:07was destroyed by Nebo Chod non chad On non Sore in five eighty eight BC.
- 29:14In five sixteen was rebuilt by Zorobabel on the return from the Pavilion exile
- 29:19that the ark was no longer there, and was restored again by Herod in
- 29:23the time of Christ in the year sixty four AD. The restoration was complete
- 29:27till the Romans came in seventy a d It destroyed the building. Julian the
- 29:32Apostate it endeavored to rebuild it in three sixty one, but an earthquake cast
- 29:37down the works and fire from earth coming from the earth, drove away the
- 29:41workmen. That's something. Yeah, pretty amazing. Really, I didn't know
- 29:48this till I started reading the old early Church followers and the old histories of
- 29:52you know, the ancient world. Yeah, Julian the Apostate tried to rebuild
- 29:56the Temple in three sixty one a d. And it was destroyed by an
- 30:00earthquake and fire that came up from the earth. Now think about that.
- 30:06You know, not only was the Temple essentially destroyed when Jesus was crucified,
- 30:11and then all of Israel destroyed by Rome afterwards three hundred and sixty four years
- 30:18later, I think it was sixty one years later, they tried to rebuild
- 30:21it, and you know, acts of God prevented them. We'll just put
- 30:26it that way. And they said, he says the Temple will never be
- 30:30rebuilt to the end of the world. That's actually from the prophecy of Dan
- 30:34nine twenty seven. Now I'm totally on the side of Israel against against the
- 30:40Palestinians. There's no such thing as a Palestinian. They're Philistines. They actually
- 30:44belong in Jordan. Mostly they come from Jordan. They only wanted the land
- 30:49of Israel once the Jews came back in there and made it a nice place
- 30:52to live. You know, Muslims that are dedicated to killing all Jews and
- 30:56Christians are not my friends. But we cannot look at the New State of
- 31:04Israel, the New Jerusalem as the actual new Jerusalem. The actual New Jerusalem
- 31:10is the Catholic Church. That's what you just said. The arc of the
- 31:15Covenant, of the New Covenant is the blessed Virgin Maryan who who carried the
- 31:18Word of God within her. The New Covenant is Christianity, and the New
- 31:23Jerusalem is the Catholic Church. Israel is a secular state. There are religious
- 31:30full of religious Jews. Actually, I think religious Jews is probably a minority
- 31:34in Israel. Actually, there may be actually more practicing religious Jews outside of
- 31:41Israel than in. So while I mean my sympathies are entirely on the side
- 31:45of Israel, we do need to make that distinction that it is a secular
- 31:52state of Israel. It is not the religious state of Israel. But anyway,
- 31:57besides Jerusalems, the town of Bethlehem and Nazareth deserve mentioned obviously places of
- 32:02interest in Judaea. South of Jerusalem lies Bethlehem, the Birth of Christ birthplace
- 32:07of Christ. Further seal is Hebron, where dwelt Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
- 32:13are the parents of Saint John the Baptist. East of Jerusalem is Bethany,
- 32:16the village where Lazarus dwelt, and the desert of Quarantania. I guess where
- 32:22our Lord went through his forty days fast northwestern Jerusalem is Jericho, the city
- 32:27of Palms, the abode of Zakius, the penitentve taxpayer. North of Jerusalem
- 32:31is a maeis where our Lord appeared to his two disciples after the resurrection.
- 32:36On the sea coast is Jappa, famous in the Annals of the Crusades,
- 32:39where Peter restored Tabitha to life and was summoned to receive the gentile centurion Cornelius.
- 32:47Further to the south and extending along the coast is the district which was
- 32:51formerly the land of the Philistines, with its towns of Gaza and Ascalon see
- 32:57Philistines, not Palestinians. They actually take the name Palestine, whereas Palestine is
- 33:02not Felistia. Anyway. Westward of the Dead Sea is the desert of India,
- 33:10also called the Desert Saint John. Places of interest in Samaria. The
- 33:15capital of Samaria is situated near the center of the district. South of it
- 33:17as Jacob's Well, near System, where our Lord spoke with the Samaritan woman.
- 33:22Eastward is Gazkism, where the Samaritans had a temple dedicated to the service
- 33:27of idols. In the south is Silo, where from the time of Joshua
- 33:31the Tablets Joshu, the Tablets of the Law were kept for over three hundred
- 33:36and fifty years. Along the coast of the Mediterranean stretches the fertile plane of
- 33:39Sharon. By the sea is situated Says Area, the residence of the governor.
- 33:45In the northeast, close by the sea and on the boundary is Mount
- 33:46Carmel, rising some thousand feet. Its fertility, beauty and numerous caves make
- 33:52it particularly adapted to the wants of the Hermits who dwelt there. It was
- 33:55a scene of the sacrifice of Elias, and the priests of Bale praise.
- 34:00The places of interest in Galilee, including Nazareth or the City of Flowers,
- 34:04the residents of the Mother of God at the time of the Annunciation. A
- 34:07great story with that, we'll get to that another day, and the Christ
- 34:12into his thirteenth year. South of it is where Christ restored the young man
- 34:15to life. East of Nazareth is Cana, where Christ performed his first miracle
- 34:20at the wedding feast. On the lake of Gennesareth are situated Kafarnum, Christ's
- 34:25owned city, in which he dwelt and where he worked so many miracles,
- 34:29e g. The cure of the centurion Sun, the raising of the daughter
- 34:31Jerius. Here too he promised the institution of the blessed sacraments and called the
- 34:37apostle Matthew. To the south is best Aeta, where the apostles Andrew and
- 34:42Philip came, and Magdalah, the dwelling place of the center Magdalen. Tiberius
- 34:46is also a town on this lake. In the north of Galileus says Area
- 34:51Philippi, where Peter received the power of the keys. Quite beyond the boundary
- 34:54of Galilee and Phoenicia. On the west are the two cities of Tire and
- 34:59side on more than once visited by Christ. On the border of Galilee is
- 35:02the range of the lebanon As, sending ten thousand meters and covered in perpetual
- 35:07snow not more than three hundred seters remain of its once famous forest. To
- 35:13the east is Hermann raising nine five hundred meters and still west. Still further
- 35:17east is Damascus in the neighborhood which Saint Paul was converted. Places of interest
- 35:22in Pernea, close by the Dead Sea. Eastward the mouth that the Jordan
- 35:27near Bethabara is the place where Saint John baptized, where he pointed out Christ
- 35:31and called him the Lamb of God. Further to the east is Mountain Nebo,
- 35:36on which Moses died. South of the Lake of Gath Sarah is Pella,
- 35:42the refuge of Christians during the Seas of Jerusalem in a D seventy eight
- 35:49D. All right, I'm going to wrap it up there. Okay,
- 35:52that's a lot of information. You know, if you know your Bible,
- 35:55you're seeing all these places in your mind. It's just really making clear what
- 36:00a small area it is rich in the history of you know, Jewish and
- 36:07Christian religion. Tomorrow will probably if I can do a show tomorrow, I'm
- 36:15not quite sure, but I'm gonna try. We'll get into more of the
- 36:19role of Jesus of Nazareth as the Redeemer, the Messiah, and this is
- 36:23going to be probably of much more import I think than the geography of you
- 36:30know, Israel. That my opinion. Now other people may disagree. I
- 36:37know a lot of people get very much into geography and maps and you know,
- 36:40following the path of Christ and the development of you know, Judaism and
- 36:47Christianity throughout the ancient world. I'm more of a big picture guy. I'm
- 36:52not a detailed guy. But anyway, I hope you enjoyed this show regardless,
- 36:59and please join me tomorrow. Remember, in the words of Saint Padre
- 37:02Pio, pray, hope and don't worry, and I'll talk to you tomorrow.
