- 0:00happy Halloween for yesterday yeah oh happy All Saints Day
- 0:05then for today oh yeah there you go All Saints great
- 0:09band can't remember any songs of theirs I think they did a cover of a blondie
- 0:15song and I think that's the only song I know of theirs there you go and they get
- 0:20and yet they get a whole day and yet yeah when's N Sync
- 0:25day when's take that day yeah welcome to multiple
- 0:31nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple
- 0:38nerdgasm your guide to All Things
- 0:47nerdy when's uh One Direction day that's
- 0:51topical W that is topical when's uh when's uh when's Poets of the Fall day
- 0:57or should I say when's old gods of Asgard day got some old gods of Asgard
- 1:01news yeah if you want I haven't got any news but I certainly played it in my car
- 1:05this week oh so did I because I finally played it in the game that's why I put
- 1:11Herald of darkness in the spreadsheet because what a song What A sequence it's
- 1:16it's so funny right I knew that this was in the game
- 1:20because it was it was hard not to know because every was talking about this
- 1:24seen the game awards exactly yeah but with no context I was like oh that's
- 1:28that's cool it's a cool song song funny Musical and everyone kept telling me cuz
- 1:32I I I I've mentioned this on before on the show I was playing Allan Wick to I
- 1:35you play as Allan or you play as Saga who's saga's in the real world Allan's
- 1:40in the dark place it's just for people who don't know I know you know Dan
- 1:43obviously you've played the game infinite times but yeah but we're not
- 1:45talking to each other we're talking to the audience that's right and so I for
- 1:49some reason just got very engrossed in saga's side of things and only did the
- 1:54very first section that you play as Allan and he's just been waiting the bit
- 1:58that you have to yeah yeah and Jenna's Jenna's finished the game now
- 2:02including the DLC so um including the brand new DLC from this week correct
- 2:08yeah wow yeah well I mean she's bedridden sure so because she had yeah
- 2:14had she's fine she's fine she's an old lady yeah we've never actually mentioned
- 2:18how old she is she's 80 yeah no no she's fine she's just recovering from um some
- 2:24surgery and so she's I shout out to her but I know she doesn't listen so no
- 2:28point she definitely does not listen um and so she was like she's like oh
- 2:34that musical thing I was like what she's like oh you must have done that bit and
- 2:38I was like no I don't what you're talking about she's like how have you
- 2:39not done that it's like the best thing in a game ever I is it really is yeah
- 2:44yeah and then everyone's been telling me how good it is and all this kind of
- 2:46stuff and I was thinking it's going to be underwhelming when I finally do it it
- 2:51wasn't no it's incredible it is isn't it and it just keeps going and no matter
- 2:56how long it takes you to perform that level I it just keeps going I waited
- 3:01because I was I'm just going to watch this yeah and like and then when I when
- 3:05it was clear okay this bit's done I'll move on a bit because I I was it's just
- 3:10I [ __ ] smile on my face man I always like that in the film there's a bit in
- 3:15the story no spoilers but there's a bit later on where you go to a cinema and
- 3:19there's a there's a [ __ ] Thomas Zayn movie playing on the screen and of
- 3:22course it's in finish so funny in this I know and it stars Sam Lake right as it's
- 3:27speaking it's as Alex Casey
- 3:36enemies time apparently at least half an
- 3:40hour I was because listeners who don't
- 3:44know Alan Wake is two people there's the voice actor and then there's the the the
- 3:51the person the physical actor yeah and but then Thomas Zayn is the it's just
- 3:58vill yeah just the guy who looks like Alan Wake doing his noral voice it's so
- 4:02weird hearing him talk in just his noral accent I saw an interview
- 4:07him W being Voice overed by an american guy yeah who is the doctor from control
- 4:14who does his own face I haven't played control I should yeah he's also in the
- 4:19hway DLC but uh you're not there yet but um yeah I saw an interview with Vil this
- 4:26week where he says Thomas Zayn is his preferred character because it's all him
- 4:31like he gets to do the voice and the physicality of it and so he's he owns that character
- 4:37yeah it's so funny because all of this
- 4:40stuff I was like this is not the same as the first game but I don't care yeah
- 4:47it's fine you know they've just it's it's just on theme not
- 4:52technically yes but what I learned
- 4:56because I did a deep dive after I played this the first time right I've played it
- 5:02twice now but I was like just [ __ ] mad for it and I found out that there's
- 5:07a whole lot of like supplementary material like I mentioned there was a
- 5:12web series and I found out the web series The live action web series came
- 5:15out before the first game before Alan Wake 1 as marketing collateral for Alan
- 5:21Wake 1 they shot this whole prequel
- 5:23which is all set in the it's in the town bright Falls but it's it's specifically
- 5:30about the sanitarium with the Doctor Who oh yeah you know does the experiments on
- 5:35artists right is that the thing in in the in the remaster there's QR codes
- 5:39around and if you scan your phone that's what that
- 5:43is yeah so it's that plus well actually there they're separate but you're
- 5:50supposed to scan those and then the way that it the way that it's supposed to work
- 5:55is you scan that the QR codes in the game and you put your own phone number
- 6:00in and then when you are playing the game like on the Xbox and you get to a
- 6:06certain point where you're taking a phone call your actual phone will ring
- 6:10and you'll hear that phone call on your phone I wish that had happened evidently
- 6:16it never happened that way even at
- 6:20launch but you could still call yeah and hear it like on a on a recording or
- 6:26something but but they were thinking they were always
- 6:30of this like yeah I I really respect the way they try stuff like Luke's talked
- 6:36before I haven't played Quantum break neither I don't think any of us have I'm
- 6:41really should but I know Luke's explained basically you play a level and
- 6:44then you watch an hour of a television show that they shot and it's part of the
- 6:49game and like I just respect the yeah the [ __ ] have just come up with an
- 6:54idea let's just [ __ ] try it and even in the first day and wake when you just
- 6:57watch night Springs episodes on TV game just so unique even Alan Wake to quite
- 7:04often I'm asking myself am I watching a rendered character or a filmed actor
- 7:10right now like it's not always obvious it does yeah transitions yeah because
- 7:14especially when you're um during the musical
- 7:17Thing the TV you you hold to access the TV and it zooms in and then it it's it
- 7:23does transition to FMV yes kind of but not FMV like going
- 7:30through into the yeah it's a very clever however they're doing it it looks cool
- 7:35yeah it's a good effect and even the like the brothers with their commercials
- 7:39that you can watch you know you get an achievement for finding one of their
- 7:41commercials and watching it too but like [ __ ] love those guys they're so good
- 7:45yeah yeah I started playing the same actor I think you're right I don't know
- 7:51why I didn't notice and I don't know why Luke didn't notice it's just a guy and
- 7:55the same guy with beard yeah yeah St who just takes one step to the left on green screen
- 8:00andil yeah um I I I downloaded and began
- 8:05playing the um lake house the new DLC
- 8:09the lake house seems awfully cool um just haven't haven't had much of a
- 8:14chance yet but uh we'll continue really want to properly play control L to go
- 8:20still I know I have good and there's a couple of false endings for max pay 2
- 8:25you feel like you're coming Max P for Alan Wake you feel like you're coming to
- 8:29the end and then there's there's more so okay just enjoy it just hope it never
- 8:35ends I did dip into something else briefly this week I did to do a couple
- 8:40of things just to try them out because I wanted to talk about them they looked
- 8:43very interesting there was a Halloween sale yes there was week and I grabbed uh
- 8:49well you go you go first I know what you you purchased a few things right I did
- 8:53well yeah I so I went I went to purchase one game because Luke and I we mentioned
- 8:58this last week Matt when we were at Pax Cult of the Lamb was by far the most
- 9:04important game there like seen it had an enormous onr activation yeah two
- 9:11separate weddings occurred in the the chapel that they had built real world
- 9:15weddings okay that's cool I didn't know that and there was just at various times
- 9:20rituals like just like cult rituals that occurred there and then just the rest of
- 9:25the time there was the longest line at packs for God knows what
- 9:30just to take a picture there to get something for free for a game been out
- 9:33for a while now yeah at least a couple of years right what whatever people like
- 9:37it and neither Luke or I have played it Luke has now finished it okay purch bit
- 9:42I purchased it day before yesterday it's pretty good I'm not addicted to it
- 9:46though no no I didn't get addicted to it the people who were there seem [ __ ]
- 9:50addicted like it seems like they've forsaken all other games now you know
- 9:54they're just they're just Cult of the Lamb devotees rather than I didn't get
- 9:58the impression that it would be that kind of game for me when I played it
- 10:02give it another shot at some point but it just it certainly didn't catch me off
- 10:05the right off the bat I think when not young enough yeah maybe or lonely enough
- 10:12speak for yourself Dan problems at home mat no I think it's
- 10:16a game for people who have a lot of time have a lot of time
- 10:20Lely yeah I am never alone I am never ever
- 10:26Alone um yeah so I played that but of course Halloween sales are on so I I bought I
- 10:32bought at least three other games I bought uh auin um that's a great game
- 10:38mate which I already owned on Gog but but I just you got on switch I got it on
- 10:44switch cuz I figured it would be got on switch it's great it's a great game yeah
- 10:48and I bought dredge which also a great game the only drawback I bought that on
- 10:54switch 2 the only drawback and I thought it' be a good switch game and I still
- 10:57think it might be but [ __ ] the text is little and I checked and you can't make it
- 11:01bigger so it's really straining my old
- 11:04man eyes okay I guess I'm fortunate yeah I didn't have that problem and I bought
- 11:11like three other games too I'm beginning to have that problem with things but
- 11:15yeah yeah yeah yeah ruined them um and then for some reason even though I had
- 11:20all these new games I went and played from start to finish through Rusty Lake
- 11:23hotel um cuz it just popped into my brain and I was like I finished that but
- 11:27not with all the achievements so yeah no those are good that whole series is good
- 11:32that's the best one though hotel for me is is the best yeah the others are very
- 11:37very fragmented little tiny chapters that just kind of Stack you could do one
- 11:41and then just walk away whereas hotel has one overarching storyline that I I
- 11:46enjoyed what's the one that's set on the island that one was that's Paradise okay
- 11:51that one was good that is good yeah so I'm playing Roots at the moment which is
- 11:54the second one so Hotel comes first then Roots which is the backstory of the
- 11:58whole family [ __ ] it's dark man some dark [ __ ] in this there's a lot of dead
- 12:03kids I met those guys at pack once before I knew like they had those what's
- 12:08the one with the the white room yeah White Room Escape Cube yeah they just
- 12:13had those ones right kind of at that point yeah and I've since bought them but I
- 12:19haven't played them yeah they're less uh less elaborate than the the later ones
- 12:26yeah although I've heard that some of the later ones incor
- 12:30throw away things from those early ones as if it was a planned Universe which is
- 12:34you know that's nice I hear you guys saw the Drifter at PS which I'm jealous of
- 12:39yeah we did it looks great I'm a big fan of powerof yeah
- 12:44David YouTube channel oh really yeah I should check that out actually yeah yeah
- 12:49yeah he makes power quest which is the unity engine that I would make a game in
- 12:56if I ever had the [ __ ] time to make a game it's a Unity uh plug I guess that he's
- 13:03made and and documented like yeah yeah he's he's [ __ ] smart dude with more
- 13:09time in his hands than than I can even comprehend this yeah the right amount of
- 13:13time you need yeah to make a game he's a super into games and he does they do
- 13:17game jams and he's made just on his own made these uh kind of quest for Glory
- 13:21style short games for Game jams and he's continuing that I just it's someone that
- 13:26I watch on YouTube I'm just in awe of like he's so I mean he's focused in a
- 13:31way that I'm not it just makes these things that I'm just like that's [ __ ]
- 13:35rad yeah you can live vicariously by just watching yeah actually guys like
- 13:39that make me feel better about because sometimes I think people pull it out of
- 13:43their ass and I'm like oh [ __ ] they're Geniuses and I'm and I'm not a genius
- 13:47but no these guys work [ __ ] hard yeah yeah yeah yeah he's focused specific
- 13:52skills and uh yeah they're impressive and The Drifter looks incredible yeah
- 13:58yeah yeah it looks very good yeah had had a little play looks good so what did
- 14:03you play this week I purchased uh in the Xbox sale uh I don't even I just saw it
- 14:10and I was like what is that it's called killer frequency mhm and uh it's like
- 14:15just a little game um where you play as a radio DJ in a small town you used to
- 14:22work in Chicago and you know be this big kind of big big shop but now you're in
- 14:27this small town something happened I don't know what it is yet maybe it'll
- 14:30come up you in this small town with like
- 14:3230 35 listeners at midnight every
- 14:37night you're on the on air one night the deputy calls in the sheriff's been
- 14:42murdered by a serial killer who haunt who was active you know 20 30 years ago
- 14:48and everyone thought they were dead they're back the whistling man is back
- 14:53they've got to go to the next town to get help cuz the the phone you can't
- 14:58make longest phone for some reason it doesn't matter it doesn't matter it's
- 15:02very tongue and just doesn't want to spend the extra dollar it's very tongue
- 15:04and cheek uh and then she's like well I got to Rite all the 911 calls to you
- 15:09because there's no one else here to take them everyone's dead so Jesus Christ so
- 15:13now you just answer 911 calls on air yeah right and uh and you have to try
- 15:18and help people not get killed and the scenarios are always different and then
- 15:22and you can do [ __ ] like I it's just funny like you can hit sound effects on
- 15:27the soundboard like it's like I can't go that way the killer
- 15:30say just it's just amusing myself and you get achievements for doing silly
- 15:35stuff amazing but there's things like cuz you can get up and walk around and
- 15:41you go out into the office and look up stuff like there's one where the woman's
- 15:44like trapped in my car and the Killer's outside but I dropped my car keys I
- 15:47don't have my car keys I don't know how to hot wire a car and you're like hang
- 15:50on and then you get on peggies your the girl who works like we have a car show
- 15:55don't we she's like yeah yeah it's on Sunday their office is down the hall so
- 15:59you go down find a magazine a magazine that tells you how
- 16:03to hotwire a car and so you pull that up and you go read me the serial number and
- 16:09and it's it's it's cool I'm looking at it now the art style is
- 16:12amazing and it looks just like a recording studio like a like an audio
- 16:16it's good fun great like it's very silly but but it's it's fun yeah and there
- 16:20another one the guy faxes he's like the killer stalking me through the office um
- 16:24and then you're like oh what if I call a phone extension to lure him off and he's
- 16:28like I'll fax you layout of the office and you have to go get a fax machine and
- 16:31stuff it's just cool amazing is it recommend it present time
- 16:37or is it it looks like it might be set in the 80s although I think it's it's
- 16:41got more like I think a lot of Gamers now a lot of devs cuz they're our age
- 16:44they grew up in the ' 80s everything just kind of looks like it might be the
- 16:4880s oh oh one of us dropped out there you're back oh yeah oh we're back we're
- 16:54back y seems like we um I wish listed another game the other day called
- 17:00198x have you heard of this I have but I don't know why it's about a kid hanging
- 17:05out in a arcade in the ' 80s and they're depressed or something I I don't know
- 17:10the the bigger story but they're playing a bunch of arcade games and so you you
- 17:13play the arcade games as well as you play this point and click that's the the main
- 17:19story interesting yeah I I mean I don't I couldn't decide if it looked good or
- 17:25if it just looked interesting so I was I was okay with it it's tough right
- 17:28because because I I'm looking at this and I'm like I don't know if I'd be
- 17:32bother playing that part of it um and I'm like oh that looks cool
- 17:37but yeah same because often mini games turn you off I literally stopped playing
- 17:43Bully because of a that's right yeah yeah uh but I think it's always him it's
- 17:50always the kid in the game so maybe that and maybe there's things in the game
- 17:54that that gives you story yeah if they if they do it well hopefully hopefully
- 17:59it is that but yeah it looks interesting
- 18:04oh you've got to play ads um during the radio show obviously and people and
- 18:09people call in and and anyway the the pizza place in town is called ponte's
- 18:13Pizza mhm and so there's lots of little references like that yeah as soon as you
- 18:19said recording booth small town py pool except this is a serial killer instead
- 18:23of yeah whatever that was no yeah but there's lots of little nods to horror
- 18:28movies and yeah amazing and things yeah the streets all have like you know like
- 18:34U names I can't not yeah nothing comes to mind but they're
- 18:39all Avenue or something Street or whatever yeah nice yeah yeah I watched a
- 18:45a [ __ ] ton of horror movies this month
- 18:49uh I did too and I I basically I did uh I did I didn't watch a couple of modern
- 18:54ones but I won't bother going into those but what I really watched was a lot of Universal
- 19:011930s horror and I wanted to watch them because there's a few that I realized I
- 19:06had never seen before cuz there they made a lot right um I skipped a couple
- 19:10that I'd seen a lot I'd seen Dracula a lot I've seen the mommy a lot yeah I've
- 19:15seen Frankenstein a lot but I watched it because it's just so good and Bride of
- 19:19Frankenstein is even better and I worked out that the director of those to James
- 19:23whale all the ones that he directed are the best so he also did the Invisible
- 19:28Man which I'd never seen before but is [ __ ] excellent okay and um have to do
- 19:33do a rewatch of some now as well yeah and the funny thing is for but then on
- 19:39Halloween night I'd watch I'd watched a lot of these on Halloween night I
- 19:42decided to watch Young Frankenstein the M Brooks comedy movie right yes yes
- 19:47which is such a good movie like it is good because when the jokes are dumb
- 19:54they're dumb movie the performance of everyone but especially
- 20:00of Gene Wilder is so sincere that everything just works like it's and like
- 20:05the photography the music everything is like it's a horror movie not like it's a
- 20:09comedy so they really lean into it but the funny thing is I was watching it
- 20:13going I know the story line This is son of Frankenstein from Universal from the
- 20:2030s is the exact plot ancestor of um you
- 20:25know the Frankenstein goes back to Germany cuz he inherits the house when
- 20:29the real Frankenstein dies he's got no interest in anything the people in the
- 20:32town don't trust him because they don't want another monster made and then while
- 20:35he's there a [ __ ] Constable with a wooden arm warns him don't be [ __ ]
- 20:39around with [ __ ] he's like don't worry I've got no interest in this but then he
- 20:42finds the journal and he goes oh maybe I could do this and he makes his own
- 20:45monster there's no mention that this is a a parody of one specific movie movie
- 20:51yeah but there you go I've got some more
- 20:55movie parody news later okay okay do you know was that intentional or was that
- 21:01just a coinci I mean sounds like it must have been intentional but there's
- 21:04nothing in the in the credits that says based on son of Frankenstein or anything
- 21:08like that at the same time no like 50 years apart yeah I was going to
- 21:13say yeah H did you we didn't talk about this I don't think I mentioned it I
- 21:18think just to Luke did we talk about it have you seen as above so
- 21:22below no but I did bookmark it when you mentioned it yeah okay well I I won't
- 21:28talk about it again but yeah you should watch that it's good okay I'll I'll I'll
- 21:31bump it to the top of the list I watched another Netflix one just this week uh
- 21:36which I'll mention because it's new we watched some older stuff too and I've
- 21:41blanked on what it was um but anyway I watch don't move which is uh one of the
- 21:48top things on Netflix right now yeah that's not a sequel to don't breathe is
- 21:53it I don't I don't know cuz that was good this is good uh it yeah it is good
- 22:00it's um it's tame I would say uh which is not
- 22:06a bad thing it's just that um I think everyone's been talking about terrifier
- 22:10three this is not that this is it's basically a a woman
- 22:15who goes hiking in uh in big so National Park in California oh and gets abducted
- 22:21by a man who injects her with a paralytic that completely freezes her um
- 22:27but she manag nightmare stuff she manages to get away
- 22:31shortly before it kicks in or whatever but then it's it's it's good like it's
- 22:35very good but she's essentially laying in the woods unable to move going what
- 22:38the [ __ ] am I going to do now yeah yeah and then stuff happens and you know yeah
- 22:43no it's it's well I know what I'd do if I was there be like it's not your lucky day
- 22:48[Laughter] darl uh yeah it's good I recommend it uh
- 22:54I enjoyed it yes okay it doesn't sound anything like the sequel to don't
- 22:57breathe which is about kids that break into a blind maniac's house yes is that
- 23:04fed Alvarez the alien Romulus director oh maybe it is yeah you could be right
- 23:09you could be right I heard you talk about that the other week I did he you
- 23:13mention your opinion on so I'll just ask deep fake Ian Holm what do you think
- 23:19of that well I mean the the effect was
- 23:25[ __ ] garbage like and I'm waiting for some kid to go here's my better version
- 23:30of it that I did in my bedroom they always do that but like unnecessary and
- 23:36in fact all of the reasons there's no need for all of all of the things that
- 23:41tied it directly into the other Alien movies were unnecessary stop doing that
- 23:47you don't need to do that the I my least favorite thing in the whole movie I
- 23:51don't think I mentioned this when we talked about literally my least favorite
- 23:53thing in the whole movie was when the the Android character who I forgotten
- 23:58his name name who I loved great character Andy the Android Andy the
- 24:01Android Great Character he should not have said get away from him oh I no come
- 24:06on cut that out of the movie come on it was also almost like he didn't want to
- 24:10say it like the actor was like get away from her you it was like a force [ __ ]
- 24:15he looks over yeah Alvarez is like say it yeah no Alvarez is there gone my
- 24:21hands are tight there's a producer behind there going yeah that's right yeah
- 24:27yeah oh look a very good movie yeah more like
- 24:32that please choices but just tone it down yeah didn't I didn't Ash didn't
- 24:38need to be there and and like I said the I don't understand why they couldn't
- 24:42have just shown him briefly and then just had him be on the [ __ ] radio so
- 24:46we don't have to look at that cuz it was so bad yeah we didn't need to
- 24:51see he wasn't doing anything he was just sat there looking not real anyway
- 24:57whatever yeah which is funny because arguably the worst shot in the original alien is also
- 25:03a shot of him where they Bobble his head on this yeah that's right yeah there's a bad cut
- 25:10bizarre with all the stuff they fixed they'd left that in but then look at um
- 25:16Alien 3 when she gets bishop and it's an it's an animatronic Lance henriksson
- 25:21yeah right um yes I mean that's more convincing to be honest because it is
- 25:28Android yeah yes like yeah yeah who are you trying to fo it's a robot yeah
- 25:34exactly yeah that's yeah anyway I mean look we don't have to harp on about it
- 25:39but the the whole the whole thing for
- 25:45me about the first alien movie is
- 25:53that correct me if I'm wrong but they they set it up like it was kind of a
- 25:57coincidence that they picked up on this distressed signal right and then Bishop
- 26:00had like his protocols were if you encounter alien life [ __ ] all other
- 26:07they forfeit their um bonus if they don't stop for a distress signal you
- 26:14they've got an obligation I think that's the setup is that there's an obligation
- 26:17like you get a distress signal and they're like oh can we just keep going
- 26:20and then no we're get in [ __ ] you get in trouble you have to help people like
- 26:24yeah yeah and then they find this [ __ ] ship piloted by an unknown other
- 26:31alien entity let's just leave it at that sure that's also been attacked by a
- 26:35third unknown alien entity which then gets aboard their ship and and now
- 26:40they're [ __ ] that's interesting yeah the entire world being populated by that
- 26:45one dude and his buddies yeah less
- 26:48interesting yes yeah there's no need for I mean it makes sense that they would be
- 26:53multi well they set it up in alien Covenant CU there's two David
- 27:00models the I think that's the problem is that there just everything's too reliant on
- 27:06David now and everything's too reliant too tied back into the engineers and I'm
- 27:10still not sure did the engineers seed all life on Earth or just human life
- 27:14like did monkeys drink that water or was there no life like uh that's a good
- 27:20question I'm guess CU then why do we look like life yeah yeah but then it
- 27:24would have started with Omas yeah and then lizards
- 27:29and over complicated it in in Alien I yeah I think and we were saying before
- 27:34was that like they weren't sent there to get the alien it's a coincidence yeah
- 27:39I'm pretty sure that's what supposed to be I think I think that has been changed
- 27:45yeah behind the scenes somewhat yeah but I don't like that cuz I don't I don't
- 27:50think that was the intention no it's scarier that it was an accident yeah and
- 27:57cuz there's this implication now that mother took him there on purpose but
- 28:01that doesn't make any sense exactly exactly yeah that they were looking for
- 28:06that ship like communicates with the company the company's like yeah we want
- 28:11that whatever that is yeah that's right this over your other we don't care about
- 28:17them like that's right we can replace
- 28:20them so long as you bring that land yeah
- 28:24yeah I think what because they saw signs
- 28:28on that but not because that was their invention that had got free correct yeah
- 28:34or that they even knew about it beforehand I maintain they didn't know
- 28:38what it was no one even believed Ripley in Aliens correct yes yes and when
- 28:44Gorman said xenomorph xenomorph he just meant an alien yeah yeah that's of some
- 28:50sort not name is zenor John xenomorph yeah I maintain that that the case and
- 28:57alien Romulus the way I read it confirms that because he refers to it as xenomorph
- 29:03xx7 whatever the [ __ ] as in there's lots of things called thing would have be
- 29:08xenomorph like blah blah blah blah blah Z you know if we go to EUR NASA gets to
- 29:13Europa and they find something under the water that will be xenomorph one yeah
- 29:19because it's the first one we found yeah
- 29:22yeah yeah yeah Zeno meaning other and I
- 29:27I know that's not what it means in the larger thing I don't care that's what
- 29:32that's what it means in my head that's what I think the intention was you know
- 29:36well now that films are written by corporations and not and not by writers
- 29:40who who [ __ ] knows I did get uh I talked about the the cold forger that
- 29:45alien book that apparently makes it so you know they face huggers put the goo
- 29:49in instead of we talked about that and I think with Luke I talked about it uh I
- 29:53got the book haven't read it yet so we'll see if I make it through it
- 29:58yeah I saw somebody somebody I follow online got his hands on the allenan
- 30:03Foster alien adaptation yeah well I want it
- 30:09now have yeah I have the first three Alien aliens and alien
- 30:13three the three Alien movies that there are yeah the three yeah the three Alien
- 30:17movies yeah alien and it's two very good sequels yeah yeah they're all by him
- 30:24yeah awesome yeah want want
- 30:29H um all right well before we go off movies then yes I was watching a movie
- 30:36this week an older movie that I'd seen before many times and like very much
- 30:41right and I was watching it and enjoying it and it suddenly occurred to me that
- 30:46it's the exact same plot as another movie I've seen many times and like very
- 30:50much and not just similar but the exact same plot and I'd never noticed this
- 30:55before endings are different I'll caveat this but let me describe the plot to you Matt
- 31:00jump in anytime you think you know what movie I'm talking about okay a
- 31:06policeman is called out to a remote island to investigate a missing
- 31:13woman when he gets there everyone on the
- 31:17island is acting kind of strange mhm and they seem to all be in onon a secret
- 31:22he's not privy to mhm and he assumes they know where this woman is is MHM and
- 31:28they're not telling him as he investigates he starts to suspect there
- 31:34may not even have been a woman at all to have gone missing mhm and then it's
- 31:39revealed that he was called there on purpose and everyone on the island is
- 31:44playing along pretending they don't know him when they do know him the plot of
- 31:47shudder Island it is the plot of Shutter Island it's also the plot of the
- 31:52wickerman huh what I was watching
- 32:01Charli the W translation not the bees not the bees not the bees I'm watching
- 32:06The Wicker man the 1970s version Christopher Lee and you know Edward
- 32:10Woodward and I'm like this is shudder Island interesting yeah okay like beat
- 32:17by beat just like different setting and obviously a completely different ending
- 32:22yeah but just if you were to plot out just just the beats it' be identical
- 32:28that's interesting I never thought of that now I want to watch shter
- 32:33Island yeah it's very good except for some reason this weird
- 32:39shot when they're standing on the cliffs green screen behind them is like they
- 32:42couldn't find a blue sky so they just looks like the room yes exactly this
- 32:49real Hollywood
- 32:53movie T well I going to watch both of those I
- 32:59haven't seen the original Wick man in a long time I'm it's sad to say I've seen
- 33:03the Nicholas Cage one more recently than the original I actually I really like
- 33:06the Nicholas Cage version yeah right but it's just not as scary like I find the
- 33:11original one terrifying I remember being much creepier and yeah I mean it's dated
- 33:16a lot it's got a lot of weird musical sequences in it that go for way too long
- 33:20but just the the the fact that this guy just doesn't know where he is or or
- 33:24what's going on M and then when they bring him over the hill and he just sees
- 33:29that big [ __ ] thing wicker man the Wicker man the titular wicker man yeah
- 33:34it's just uh it's terrifying I'll watch that um trying to
- 33:40think what else we watched it's gone for some it can't of
- 33:44been that good what oh you know what I did watch I watched
- 33:48um last Voyage of the demer oh and was that good it was all right yeah okay
- 33:55yeah yeah Didn't I mean it looks like it could be very good I mean very visually
- 34:00interesting and cool just a bit uh yeah I don't know it was it was good I
- 34:03suppose we know how it ends so maybe that's part of it that that could be the
- 34:06problem yeah is that I know they're not going to get this guy yeah so those who
- 34:10don't know it's about uh if you've watched or read Dracula and if you
- 34:14haven't you should uh any version in particular because yeah they all have
- 34:18this bit they they all agree on this he was on a boat from Transylvania at some
- 34:22point Transylvania and then he moves to London and he does that via boat and
- 34:27this is the story of what happens on that boat it's called the demer and
- 34:31again all accounts agree uh when it arrives in England nobody's alive on
- 34:37there yeah so yeah strange plague aboard the ship yeah and uh I will
- 34:43say I mean it's it's much more subtle in the the original in that people are like
- 34:49I wonder what happened to everybody in this I think it's pretty obvious people
- 34:53brutally murdered there's a vampire on this boat isn't there yes
- 34:58yeah yeah um but it's quite good it's got some new stuff I don't think this is
- 35:01in any other version where that that um obviously he's in a crate Dracula I mean
- 35:08uh but he's also packed himself some food which I thought was an interesting
- 35:12twist he's like a Romanian girl there well I mean you would have to wouldn't
- 35:17you that he's packed to have a nibble on except you know there's a there's a bit
- 35:23of a storm and she gets revealed is she a willing participant like um like a
- 35:29thra kind of thing yeah is she a TH or is she a a prisoner she a prisoner
- 35:34basically yeah yeah right and but these guy the the crew find her and they're
- 35:38like and it's good cuz you know they're like a [ __ ] woman on board's bad luck
- 35:42old you know an old you know SE thing and uh have you seen have you seen the movie yellow
- 35:48beard no it's it's the montypython it's it's it's like The Unofficial
- 35:53montypython movie because it's all of those guys plus every other British
- 35:56comic from the early ' 80s making a pirate movie but seen it when I was
- 36:00younger yeah yeah it's it's very funny but there's this everyone's trying to
- 36:05bring a woman onto the boat and um and like there's he's like what's that and
- 36:10these three guys are holding this big crocodile and he's like there it's a
- 36:15crocodile they was like open it up and they open it up and the woman gets out
- 36:19you know and he's like is that a woman
- 36:20no this is um this is uh first mate
- 36:26prostitute yeah yeah I I'm going to look it up cuz I bet
- 36:32you I have seen this yeah yeah you I I saw it when I was a kid and didn't
- 36:35realize it was a comedy I just thought it was a great PIR movie oh I've
- 36:37definitely seen this look at him yeah I've definitely seen this but now I want
- 36:41to watch it again yeah I kind of want to watch it again
- 36:45too um but but I mean do watch last voice of De it's good yeah got uh what's
- 36:50his name from um late night with the devil in it David malakan yeah he's good
- 36:57oh okay okay yeah he is good he's proven himself to be quite good hasn't he good
- 37:01actor yeah he's in it it's got yeah a few people that you would recognize and
- 37:05uh it was quite good the Dracula yeah yeah yeah yeah I like like IDE monster
- 37:12in this than he usually and well I also like the idea of rather than just
- 37:15telling the whole story again let's just focus on one little bit and tell tell
- 37:19this yeah it does it does suffer a bit from that thing where it's like you've
- 37:24tried to put too much into yeah right like you've made it too much of a big
- 37:28dramatic thing when in reality I think it was supposed to be just these people
- 37:32got picked off and no one ever really figured out why yeah yeah where they
- 37:36know what's going on yeah in interview of the vampire they have this kind of
- 37:40parallel of that where they say um a strange disease broke out on the ship
- 37:45and only lad and I seemed immune you
- 37:48know you know and umn yeah lot but lots of funerals at sea but the SE were like
- 37:54[ __ ] this this guy's caught it now you know like y
- 37:57like still terrified but didn't think it was they just people died at Sea yeah
- 38:03yeah yeah cuz I say this about the 1931 Dracula the First Act and the third act
- 38:08are [ __ ] excellent everything in the middle is quite tedious
- 38:13yeah well you got to watch what is it the Spanish version or Mexican version
- 38:17it's it's better in some ways and worse in other ways you know what looks good though is
- 38:22the no Fatu remake that's coming out yes that looks very good Robert Edgar
- 38:28yes not let this down but do you know that there's also another noise forag
- 38:32remake come out this year that's just come out which is literally a shot for
- 38:37shot remake of the original and it was made
- 38:42by I mean you can watch
- 38:47that I mean as an exercise as a learning exercise
- 38:52sure I guess you do that sometimes as a filmmaker how did you do that
- 38:58[ __ ] see the problem is every time I try to those kids that remade red is the last
- 39:04AR yeah yeah oh no but it exists it exists came
- 39:10out this year but every time you Google it of course you get the more the more
- 39:12popular one right it was like that year there were two Robin hoods or uh The
- 39:17Prestige and The Illusionist oh yes yes lusion was okay it would have been a
- 39:23fine movie if it didn't come out the same year as the prestige is [ __ ]
- 39:26brilliant V shadowed it yeah I learned something this week well I guess a lot
- 39:30of people learned something this week this is Star Wars
- 39:33news um did you see this article there was an interview yeah I did I did
- 39:39interesting and then I mean I don't know what to make of it but so the the what's
- 39:45his name this uh concept and storyboard
- 39:48artist Ian mcag was interviewed just like just this last week for the 25th
- 39:54anniversary of The Phantom Menace which is terrifying five years
- 39:58ago and he said originally or for a Time the older Jedi in the movie was named
- 40:05Obi-Wan and the younger Jedi was named Quon and it was very poignant that at
- 40:10the end as Obi-Wan dies Darth maore kills Obi-Wan and Quon defeats Darth
- 40:15Moore and stays with his master as he dies and he not only takes on his
- 40:20master's Quest but takes his name so Quon becomes
- 40:25Obi-Wan and I was like oh it's and it was always the same
- 40:31casting it's the same character who becomes Guinness and that's why later on
- 40:35WE says Obi-Wan that's a name I've not heard like except he has because that
- 40:39was the first of three prequels so everyone in in in in you took on that
- 40:45name for the next yeah in Attack of the Clones were people calling him Obi
- 40:48wonder where they calling him Quon it would make more sense if he changed his
- 40:51name the Qui-Gon yes and then they was like [ __ ] Obi-Wan what do you know
- 40:55that's what he meant yeah maybe that was the twist maybe it was his name was
- 40:59Obi-Wan at the end he goes oh I'm Qui-Gon now and then that would make
- 41:02more sense that when he was older and he was like Obi-Wan I mean still
- 41:05unnecessarily confusing yeah not yeah it's better to just have left it but
- 41:10yeah I mean it wasn't a great disguise anyway like if you don't want someone to
- 41:14find you change both your names not just the first name no I'm um Mick ham yeah
- 41:21I'm John H the actor yeah yep
- 41:25sure y I'm not John Ham just for the record oh
- 41:32you're not if anyone's looking for John Ham yeah but if John Ham was murdered
- 41:38you might take his exactly name and his future roles yeah you'd be in baby
- 41:43driver to we were involved in a big sword fight he was killed I killed the
- 41:48guy that killed him and now I am John Ham yeah yeah I'm I'll be Edgar right by
- 41:54the end of the year that's how it works yeah that's how it works when you kill
- 41:57the king you become the king
- 42:01yeah so yeah George Lucas playing silly
- 42:05buggers I mean the guy's got no shortage of ideas that's I was going to say this
- 42:10is one of the just another thing on the pile that this this one he happened to cast
- 42:14aside in there yeah up in there oh worse things have gotten in there more
- 42:19complicated things RH of Reason by what oh I I don't understand why he selects
- 42:23the things that he does to include and and exclude yeah
- 42:28yeah I was watching Moana this week because he certainly does I was watching
- 42:33Moana because as you do it is a good movie and it's like if if I was if I was
- 42:38doing film structure lectures I would play Moana because it is literally beat
- 42:42for beat the hero's journey you know refusal the call you know like just
- 42:47everything it's beat for beat uses all the skills she learned during the movie
- 42:51to defeat her got good songs goes back home great songs and that crab is just
- 42:57[ __ ] hilarious yeah you can't run from me oh you can yeah um gerain but
- 43:03Tamora Morrison does the voice of the dad of Mar's dad and you know how
- 43:08somebody did that edit of Star Wars where they replaced James old Jones's
- 43:14voice with other James or Jones quotes from other movies as Darth Vader I I
- 43:17want to do that with with Boba Fett now and just be like Dad no don't go out
- 43:24there it's dangerous didn't some I think someone did do once
- 43:31were Warrior quotes into oh maybe yeah Star Wars at some point [ __ ] hell
- 43:35yeah I want to bash here you can't yeah
- 43:40exactly I mean it fits yeah definitely
- 43:43does it fits uh there's a movie that's
- 43:47out uh if you want to set sale and it's
- 43:51called Joker folu or however you pronounce that not French I'm not going
- 43:57to pronounce it so don't worry about it um but it uh yeah I haven't watched it
- 44:02yet but I could watch it but I don't know that I will watch it is very bad I
- 44:08have decided not to watch it um I like the first one and I'd like to led the
- 44:13first one yeah but absolutely didn't need I mean look I mean I'm I'm against
- 44:19unnecessary sequels at the best of times but I thought this one was immune to it
- 44:23because it wasn't the you know typical DD DC movie yeah but I've heard nothing
- 44:29but negative feedback about this movie both from people I usually agree with
- 44:34and people I usually don't agree like the the internet come together to agree
- 44:37this is garbage The only positive thing I've heard about this is that the
- 44:40musical numbers though they are gratuitous and completely unnecessary
- 44:46are well produced sure but like that doesn't help because why are they in
- 44:52there why is it a musical yeah yeah exactly the only good review I've read
- 44:57was quent and Tarantino did you read this review no okay so quent Tino wrote
- 45:02a review about this okay but I don't know if he's taken the piss because this
- 45:06is the most backhanded compliment field review I've I've ever read and I'm going
- 45:10to read it out now verbatim right okay yeah okay Tarantino on Joker I really
- 45:15really liked it that's how it opens Good Start I thought it was going to be an
- 45:19arms length intellectual exercise at ultimately I wouldn't think worked as a
- 45:22movie but that I would appreciate for what it was okay understand that's why
- 45:26you went to see it and here he goes I mean it's a big mess
- 45:31but I didn't find it an intellectual exercise cuz I got really caught up in
- 45:34it I really like the musical sequences the more benal the songs were the better
- 45:38it was okay backhanded compliment number one as much as the first one was
- 45:43indebted to Taxi Driver this seems pretty [ __ ] indebted to natural-born
- 45:47Killers which I wrote on top of that I thought it was really funny and I sort
- 45:51at an almost empty theater where I could laugh without bothering anyone
- 46:01then he knocks it out of the park it's like the Joker actually directed this
- 46:07movie the entire concept even just spending the Studio's money on this it's
- 46:11like the Joker would spend this money he offered you his hand in a handshake and
- 46:15you get a buzzer with 10,000 volts shooting you he's saying [ __ ] you the
- 46:19comic book kaks he's saying [ __ ] you to the audience he's saying [ __ ] you to
- 46:23Hollywood he's saying [ __ ] you to anyone who owns stock at DC and water
- 46:29brothers so so he actually don't know if he likes it on a level that when I think
- 46:35sounds like he didn't like it as a film but he likes it because it it
- 46:40entertained him on but entertained him because he couldn't believe how bad it
- 46:44was by the sound of it that's not a review you want [ __ ]
- 46:48interesting did you watch his um he was on Bill Mah not that long ago that was
- 46:54very interesting I've gone off Bill Mah I must say so have I but that's why it's
- 46:58good because Bill Mah has turned into this grumpy old man who's just [ __ ] got yeah
- 47:04unnecessarily [ __ ] set in stone opinions about the weird he really just
- 47:09got a handful of things he just [ __ ] wants you to admit or change your mind
- 47:12to you're not an expert just be a bit more flexible and and it's it's very
- 47:15good because quent Taran here is like no let me educate you like shut up and I
- 47:20will educate and it's quite it's quite good and like they have a good um report
- 47:25it was it was you know what's funny there used to be a TV show called iconic
- 47:29clasts where they would take two celebrities in completely different
- 47:33fields put them together for a day and watch them kind of learn about each
- 47:36other's life that sounds cool yeah it was kind of cool and they did one where
- 47:39they had Tarantino and Fiona Apple you know Fiona Apple that kind of like dark
- 47:43pop star from the '90s um and them just hanging out and talking and stuff and it
- 47:47was like so interesting like what would they say to which what would they ask
- 47:50but I read this review I read this comment about her lately she was like
- 47:54yeah he was a dick I was just I did not enjoy being around him for a day like oh
- 47:58okay Taran a sh I don't know what to make of Tarantino because I've seen all
- 48:03the you know the attacks the guy at Starbucks and all that kind of stuff and
- 48:07I've but I've also I mean like like I don't know him but I've met him briefly
- 48:11and I've seen him interact like been around while he's interacting and stuff
- 48:16like that he was perfectly it was really nice so it's kind of like but then they
- 48:19of course he was he's a [ __ ] celebrity at an event yeah I don't know
- 48:23what to make it and then I seen some interviews like that [ __ ] interview
- 48:26with that BBC guy who upsets everybody
- 48:30who but but I think he was maybe the first of those interviews there's that
- 48:37one and then there's the Robert Downey Jr one where it seems like they're the
- 48:40only two where at the beginning of so there's this BBC interview who asks
- 48:44you're there to promote a movie he'll ask you personal questions about stuff
- 48:47because apparently he's there to be a serious journalist yeah yeah yeah even
- 48:51though chances are your publicist has said only ask questions about the movie
- 48:55that's all he's going to answer Robert Danny Jun when he's there to talk about
- 48:58Avengers and he starts asking him about his alcoholism and his dad and Robert
- 49:01Danny Jor is like I'm sorry did you not get the the paperwork on what the [ __ ]
- 49:06this press junket was about and then and the guy's like well I've just want to
- 49:09ask questions and Rob Dan all right takes the mic up and gets walk out yeah
- 49:13and then the quent Tarantino one he's asking him um oh do you think violence in
- 49:20movies encourage advance in real life or something like that and Quon tartino is
- 49:24like I've already said all I've care to say about oh yeah but I want I want to
- 49:28know what you think you want a sound bite that's yeah ter like no you want me
- 49:32to tell you so you can you can print it and put your name on it and very but
- 49:37then every interview after that with that guy seems like they know who he is
- 49:41yeah and they're competitive right off yeah yeah yeah yeah they probably say
- 49:46their agents book me on his show so I can get a bit of a thing going and other
- 49:49people goes on to promote his book and it's very funny what could you even ask
- 49:54him that would press the wrong buttons he goes uh he goes oh you know you're
- 49:58quite go you're a celebrity too these days I've seen your interviews with Quon
- 50:02Tarantino amazing yeah it's good but um yes I don't know what to make of
- 50:08Tarantino was my what's my point like I don't know if he's a [ __ ] or if he's
- 50:13not ack I think he's probably not a [ __ ] 99% of the times and if you
- 50:18piss him off he's a [ __ ] and I think that that counts for just about everyone
- 50:22I think that's sometimes about Ricky J as well oh yeah yeah yeah because I see
- 50:28I see but but see Ricky ja I feel like tried to explain himself with extras
- 50:33because I've seen Ricky ja behave poorly in public with celebrities I've also
- 50:38seen him behave very nicely like there's actually uh I see on Instagram Instagram
- 50:43shows me he'll go out for a jog or whatever and Paparazzi are always around
- 50:47and he's always saying hi to them and he's like oh watch out don't back up
- 50:51into the tree or whatever while they try follow him and
- 50:54stuff and then but then also he yells at people and tells him to [ __ ] off yeah
- 50:59and then there's an extras episode about when Andy becomes famous and people
- 51:03harass him at the pub and he's like just let me I'm trying to have a beer yeah
- 51:07yeah so I don't know yeah but then later that same episode he goes somewhere else
- 51:11I think David Bowie writes a song about him and then he goes back to that pu and
- 51:14he's like fat sorry
- 51:18what [ __ ] great brilliant I hope
- 51:22Ricky ja is like cuz I feel like I would be like that maybe that's why I'm a
- 51:28little but I think I mean on that like if I if people were getting in my face
- 51:33all the time I would not be pleasant like I just wouldn't I would get the
- 51:38shits with it yeah same same especially if
- 51:43like like it's one thing if it's like oh fans they love me and it's just getting
- 51:47a bit too much that's one thing and it sounds ridiculous oh that people just
- 51:50love me too much I [ __ ] hate it it's like yeah it's annoy [ __ ] off mate but
- 51:55yeah I mean you and both met Neil G
- 51:59separately brief moments but um lovely fellow yeah perfectly nice to us
- 52:05obviously like but you know I mean sorry disqualify I'm not yeah you know I'm
- 52:09just saying like I'm sure most people 99% of the time are perfectly decent but
- 52:14if you're the one person do all those things he's being accused of they just
- 52:16didn't to me yeah yeah exactly actually a really good and he he he if he feels
- 52:23those impulses to tell you to [ __ ] off he doesn't act on them he's very good at
- 52:27making you feel like you're very important while he's talking to you yeah
- 52:30yeah I mean he did evict me when I wouldn't suck him off but
- 52:36um um Rick Spence on um Lex fredman this
- 52:41week he's a historian that specializes
- 52:44in Cults conspiracy theories and um uh
- 52:50to listen to that government intelligence agencies it's like such a
- 52:53very specific thing to specialist specializ and teach in but he's he's
- 52:58very funny and and Lex Freeman it's 4 hours long but Lex asks him at a certain
- 53:03point like what have you learned about human beings by studying all this weird
- 53:07stuff and he's like what I've learned is that human beings are all every single
- 53:12one of them really nice just want to just get on with their day but every
- 53:17single person has a Tipping Point and the Tipping Point is completely
- 53:22unpredictable sure yeah like he started talking about Manson he's like [ __ ]
- 53:27up until like the day before that Charles Manson might not have done all
- 53:30that stuff you know like just they could have gone a completely other direction
- 53:35if a couple of things had gone a bit better for him yeah well that this is not in the
- 53:41normal timeline for Manson and we don't have to go do a deep dive on Manson but
- 53:46there's that thing about how he went to help his friend who'd been held by a
- 53:50drug dealer cuz he didn't have the money to pay him back or whatever and it was
- 53:53just black guy it was a drug dealer and they went around and they shot him this drug
- 54:00dealer went rescued their friend rescued their friend who wouldn't pay the drug
- 54:06dealer got home and on the news that night it said one of the higher ups in
- 54:10the Black Panthers had been killed and he apparently thought we [ __ ] killed
- 54:15one of the hpes in the Black Panther there's a race W happening we need to
- 54:19get ahead of this that's potentially why all that happened oh [ __ ] interesting
- 54:25huh I mean the facts Checker I believe that he shot a black man definitely believe
- 54:31that yeah yeah he didn't like them he did not like them I don't think he um I
- 54:36think he don't think he ever denied that he did that so no yeah fair enough yeah
- 54:40but then who [ __ ] knows he said yeah
- 54:45yeah yeah well well well well
- 54:51um on movies blade uh is not coming out there is no blade BL no blade there's no
- 54:58blade it's not happening um the writing a new script
- 55:03apparently that's how not happening it is oh okay yeah right so the actor that
- 55:08they had had lined up for it go home do something else I guess I mean I feel
- 55:13like he's he has been doing other stuff hasn't he if you been waiting I feel bad
- 55:17for you mate that's righted canceling other things you know what I learned
- 55:21today I learned a fact today when Pierce bronen signed on to be James Bond it was
- 55:27in his contract he wasn't allowed to wear a tuxedo in any other context other
- 55:32than on the set of the James Bond movie that's funny I mean I get it that
- 55:38like if you're a Red Bull guy you're not allowed to be seen drinking a Monster
- 55:40energy drink or whatever but just like nothing that James Bond would wear in
- 55:44your private life was if there something P broen was going to be James Bond yes
- 55:49Rem Steel wouldn't let him out of the contract yeah who
- 55:52was was it Timothy dton who would have been then yeah and then yeah yeah okay
- 55:56yeah he would have been um Living Daylights yeah basically Remington steel
- 56:00had been canell and then the they so
- 56:04then the you know the broccoli hired and announced that pce BR was going to be
- 56:10James Bond and the hype of that led to Remington still being uncancelled yeah
- 56:15right and he was still under contract so he had to go back and do
- 56:18it there you go but that's how we got Timothy dton who look I know no they're
- 56:24good um they're fine one of them's good I can't remember which one one was
- 56:28better than the other yeah yeah the the one with um B Shield El Toro in it is
- 56:33good yes the license living daylight license to Kill you're right yeah living
- 56:37Daylight's is the one that's not that good I don't mind it still it starts off
- 56:41it's got a really good pre-edit sequence where it's like all the MI6 agents on an
- 56:46island like fighting each other in like a war games kind of scenario yeah yeah
- 56:51that's some where he get gets the guy in the helicopter right is start of that
- 56:55one yeah yeah I think so it's been a while but yes I think so and um that's
- 57:00the one where the what's the what's the CIA agent lighter yeah Felix gets eaten
- 57:07by a shark gets fed to a shark that's right yeah yeah that's a bit silly that
- 57:13sequence I also learned that uh Judy
- 57:17Dench auditioned for I think go finger or something like back in the' 60s like
- 57:24she would have made a different kind of go finger do you mean the the char No No Yeah no
- 57:30she was going to be one of the she was going to be
- 57:36yeah yeah different or the Grace Jones character
- 57:41from um oh yeah intense what's that movie Liv in that
- 57:48day right Liv in that day is that that
- 57:52one maybe Live and Let die I know why
- 57:57you think it might be that one no is that not no is it not Live and Let Die
- 58:02is the Louisiana one but I think she's
- 58:07in oh I'm being racist am I yeah you are being racist but uh du to a Kill it's VI
- 58:13kill yeah yeah yeah well I apologize no no no no there
- 58:20aren't that many of them in there in the James Bond movies
- 58:26till later on yeah that's right yeah I me yeah I was thinking though it's funny
- 58:33like if you if you're a woman right and you got cast in a James Bond movie say
- 58:39you were in cast in one of the Shan con ones or one of
- 58:44the certainly the Daniel Craig ones or the Pierce brosman ones right I reckon
- 58:48that had ruin you for all other men like you'd go on a date with that woman and
- 58:52she'd be like yeah you seem very nice and you're you're fairly good-looking
- 58:55but I know James Bond like you know what I mean like but then I was
- 59:01thinking uh not Roger Mo not Roger Moore right like I mean was perfect for the
- 59:06role but like no one was like he's hot yeah he's even at the time no one
- 59:13was like yeah yeah he's not the handsome Bond I don't
- 59:18that's right yeah and even like you know um Jane Seymour was in um Live and Let
- 59:23Die uh but like I wasn't I wasn't like oh was there something happening on set
- 59:28you know like no there absolutely there was
- 59:33not that's interesting I think um some people think Daniel Craig is very
- 59:39attractive others think he's very unattractive he's an interesting looking person I
- 59:45think yeah yeah I think he's probably the is he the most interesting looking
- 59:52James Bond cuz Rog Mor looks correct he looks like a British Spar he looks
- 59:57correct exactly he's a British gentleman yeah yeah yeah yeah and I think for that
- 1:00:03same reason um
- 1:00:07uh Pierce brosen as well like he's just he's just like before they cast him it
- 1:00:12was like yeah obviously Pierce brosman we're looking for a pierce brosman type
- 1:00:17yeah yeah someone that looks like that guy over there yeah not someone who's not under
- 1:00:23contract oh here's a here's just a age fact just to make you feel [ __ ] um Ralph
- 1:00:29Maria is older oh yeah than Pat Marita was when Pat Marita played Mr Miyagi [ __ ]
- 1:00:36hell that's brutal have you seen Pat Marita standup
- 1:00:42before he was like when he was just a Japanese American standup comic I didn't
- 1:00:47know he was no and he he just makes jokes about being a Japanese American no
- 1:00:53there you go worth watching okay probably can't play any on this
- 1:00:59podcast okay or in any public forum but uh
- 1:01:04yeah okay cool speaks English better than he does
- 1:01:09in the movie then yeah he has an American accent born and raised in America as far as I
- 1:01:15know huh yeah there you go I only know him as Mr Miyagi oh of course yeah same
- 1:01:20and Bridge on the River
- 1:01:22Qui he's in there huh m there you
- 1:01:28go speaking of the war started watching rewatching man in the High Castle it's
- 1:01:32very good oh [ __ ] yeah that was very
- 1:01:36good yeah that was very good I watched something that reminded me of of of
- 1:01:42aspects of it so I was like rewatch that
- 1:01:47yeah good I love rer needs to be in more things he's in a show that I got to
- 1:01:51watch he's in a show called The diplomats I think and I was like I guess
- 1:01:55I got to watch that seen that he's also in an Agatha Christie miniseries where
- 1:01:59he's the detective yeah I'll tell you what it's
- 1:02:05called rofus yeah I know the one you mean I don't know what it's called either but
- 1:02:10um the Diplomat singular the
- 1:02:13Diplomat yeah okay scoop what I watched something that I think you would like I
- 1:02:20it's two seasons I only watched one season of it have you seen
- 1:02:24counterpart with um JK Simmons no okay I
- 1:02:29think so allow me to blow your mind with the premise right in the 80s during the
- 1:02:35Cold War right in Berlin a rift was opened up that split
- 1:02:42the world into two alternative realities okay so up until that
- 1:02:48moment everything identical but the very knowing about each other changed things
- 1:02:54right H and so so when the cold world war ended the Espionage continued but
- 1:03:00sending spies back and forth into the other
- 1:03:04dimensions huh and the premise of the show is now it's said modern day 30
- 1:03:09years later so that's just backstory you don't see any of that mhm and um JK
- 1:03:13Simmons plays this file Clerk or something some lowly person working for
- 1:03:19the you know the whatever the German equivalent of the CIA is um and the HM
- 1:03:25from the other side comes over and he's a [ __ ] like Hardline Espionage agent
- 1:03:30and he's like I need your help I need to do something over here so you've got to
- 1:03:34go over there and pretend to be me right and it's very cool I'm making a
- 1:03:39note I got to watch that yeah I've also got to watch dark city
- 1:03:45now that I'm talking about rof oh dark city is so good oh I've got to watch the newest
- 1:03:52Umbrella Academy Season as well oh yeah that's pretty good
