- 0:15Speaker 3: Back to the afternoon drive with Jake Wimberley. Hour 2
- 1:25Speaker 3: of your radio show brought to you by our friends
- 1:27Speaker 3: at Cowboy Maloney's. We're also brought to you by MyBookie.ag.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Get in and play. Use the promo code Patio or
- 1:32Speaker 3: Jake Wim and use Raphael Esparza's plays because he doesn't miss. Well,
- 1:36Speaker 3: he doesn't miss much. Esparza, welcome in, brother. How you doing?
- 1:38Speaker 3: I appreciate you adjusting on the fly for Friday.
- 1:42Speaker 4: I'm doing well. You know me. I'll always adjust for you.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Unless we're talking high school football, then I'm not going
- 1:47Speaker 4: to adjust.
- 1:48Speaker 3: No, I try to keep the high school line. You know,
- 1:50Speaker 3: we may get in trouble with the school board if
- 1:52Speaker 3: we start throwing lines on high school football. I mean,
- 1:54Speaker 3: we could throw some theoretical lines, but we'll do that
- 1:56Speaker 3: for another day. All right, so college football tonight. Let's
- 2:01Speaker 3: go there first. Penn State at Northwestern. There's only three
- 2:06Speaker 3: games tonight. Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh. That may be the highlight
- 2:09Speaker 3: of the night. I think Penn State gets back on track.
- 2:11Speaker 3: You can tell me if you disagree. But Pittsburgh at
- 2:14Speaker 3: Virginia Tech. James Franklin trying to stay undefeated. Pittsburgh, a
- 2:17Speaker 3: nice football team. Pittsburgh getting two. The total is at 54-and-a-half.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Are we going to see any fireworks or weird upsets
- 2:24Speaker 3: on a Friday?
- 2:25Speaker 4: I think one, first of all, I like Virginia Tech
- 2:31Speaker 4: in this game, only laying us off two-and-a-half. I just
- 2:33Speaker 4: really like this team. I think they're buying in with
- 2:35Speaker 4: the new head coach, the new systems that they're running
- 2:37Speaker 4: both sides, defense and on offense. I'm just not sold
- 2:42Speaker 4: on Pittsburgh. I think by Tech and enter Sandman, Metallica
- 2:45Speaker 4: will be blaring. on this game. Give me Bob Tech.
- 2:48Speaker 4: If we do see an upset, I think it's the
- 2:50Speaker 4: Big Ten game. Northwestern, who's opening up their new football
- 2:54Speaker 4: stadium tonight. They welcome Penn State, who were covering up
- 2:57Speaker 4: a horrible showing last week. This Northwestern team, they gave
- 3:02Speaker 4: Indiana everything they got. They were double digits, 20-point underdogs,
- 3:07Speaker 4: and only lost by a single digit. I like Northwestern
- 3:10Speaker 4: to come on top. They're laying only plus two and
- 3:12Speaker 4: a half.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Rafael Esparza, make sure to get him at vsi.sports. And,
- 3:16Speaker 3: of course, find him on Instagram, TikTok. He's all over
- 3:18Speaker 3: the place. And, of course, we appreciate him being here.
- 3:20Speaker 3: All right, any chance North Carolina hangs around with Notre
- 3:23Speaker 3: Dame tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock? I know we'll get
- 3:25Speaker 3: to Mississippi State and Alabama momentarily. Same slot kickoff time
- 3:29Speaker 3: on NBC. Domer's giving up 21.5. That totals at 47.
- 3:34Speaker 3: And I did see something about a piece of all
- 3:37Speaker 3: the assistant coaches when they signed their contracts at North Carolina.
- 3:40Speaker 3: There was some sort of a buyout clause they didn't
- 3:41Speaker 3: realize was in there. Is Notre Dame going to absolutely
- 3:45Speaker 3: run them out of their own building tomorrow?
- 3:49Speaker 4: There's two blowouts that could be very ugly tomorrow. And
- 3:51Speaker 4: this one is one of them. I think Notre Dame
- 3:53Speaker 4: puts a butt whooping on UNC. And when Shockwave Devil
- 3:57Speaker 4: gets handed to them tomorrow, because who does Clemson have
- 4:00Speaker 4: to play tomorrow? They have to play Miami. But, yeah,
- 4:03Speaker 4: I think Notre Dame puts a very, very lopsided number
- 4:05Speaker 4: up on North Carolina. All right.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Mississippi State, Alabama, 11 o'clock kick. Looks like the weather
- 4:11Speaker 3: has shifted for the good. You may get a little
- 4:13Speaker 3: bit of a dry track. There may be some rain
- 4:15Speaker 3: later in the ballgame. But Alabama, minus 5.5, that's kind
- 4:19Speaker 3: of where this line has settled out, 5.5 to 6.
- 4:22Speaker 3: The total is at 60.5. Two dynamic quarterbacks, all the
- 4:27Speaker 3: history in Tuscaloosa. Alabama chose to drive over tomorrow, which
- 4:32Speaker 3: means they're going to have to get an early, which
- 4:33Speaker 3: they'll have an early start regardless, but they'll have to
- 4:35Speaker 3: have a little earlier start to get up. stretch, eat,
- 4:38Speaker 3: then get on a bus, be there two hours early.
- 4:40Speaker 3: You're talking at 9 o'clock. We've seen that affect teams before.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Mississippi State, can they take it into the fourth quarter?
- 4:46Speaker 3: Can they win it outright?
- 4:48Speaker 4: I think they can. They just need to shut down
- 4:50Speaker 4: the running attack of Alabama. They can do that. And, yes,
- 4:54Speaker 4: I think the Cowbells can easily win this one. I
- 4:57Speaker 4: can't say Mississippi State's going to win this game because
- 5:00Speaker 4: then it would ruin my track record. That's why they
- 5:03Speaker 4: keep on winning games. So Alabama wins 59-0.
- 5:07Speaker 3: All right, looking at some others. All right, so Michigan
- 5:10Speaker 3: has looked very lethargic. You know, Bryce Underwood has not
- 5:14Speaker 3: looked great. They're going to Minnesota. P.J. Fleck, row the boat,
- 5:17Speaker 3: sweater vest, all the things. Shiny bald head on P.J.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Fleck with the sunglasses at 11 o'clock tomorrow. Michigan is
- 5:23Speaker 3: a six-and-a-half point favorite. That total is at 43-and-a-half. Feels
- 5:27Speaker 3: like Minnesota may have a shot to win this game
- 5:28Speaker 3: outright as well.
- 5:30Speaker 4: I think they do, and boy, if they do, the
- 5:33Speaker 4: head coach of Michigan probably wishes he stayed in Utah
- 5:37Speaker 4: or retired. I just think Underwood is a complete flop.
- 5:40Speaker 4: I don't like his play. How is his mental state
- 5:43Speaker 4: for this game? Even though Minnesota has struggled so far,
- 5:47Speaker 4: especially in the red zone, a roll of the ball
- 5:50Speaker 4: can keep this game interesting. I have Michigan winning, but
- 5:53Speaker 4: I don't have them covering.
- 5:55Speaker 3: West Virginia-Iowa State, a Big 12 matchup. Iowa State, the
- 5:58Speaker 3: home team, they're giving up three points. That total is
- 6:01Speaker 3: at 53.5. Rich Rodriguez trying to read this West Virginia 2.0
- 6:08Speaker 3: has gone okay for him. It's not where they want
- 6:10Speaker 3: it to be. Who do you like in this one?
- 6:12Speaker 4: Yeah, they're coming off a bad showing back-to-back. I'd like
- 6:17Speaker 4: this game to go over. I think everyone thinks we're
- 6:19Speaker 4: going to see an under game, but I think we're
- 6:20Speaker 4: going to see a high-scoring game. I know everyone looks
- 6:23Speaker 4: at that Iowa State-Iowa game like, oh, they did that game.
- 6:26Speaker 4: But that game's always under on that one. I like
- 6:28Speaker 4: the way Iowa State can move the ball. I think
- 6:31Speaker 4: we see some points scored in this one.
- 6:34Speaker 3: College game day is going to Iowa for Iowa-Ohio State.
- 6:38Speaker 3: You and I spoke on this one the other night
- 6:39Speaker 3: on the patio. But just to kind of revisit it,
- 6:42Speaker 3: Ohio State minus 14.5, totals at 45.5. This has been
- 6:45Speaker 3: a one-sided affair between the Hawkeyes and the Buckeyes. Can
- 6:50Speaker 3: Iowa– they're going to play really good defense, but, man,
- 6:52Speaker 3: they've got some receivers that they're going to have to
- 6:54Speaker 3: chase all day. Better athletes on the Ohio State sideline.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Can Iowa bring them down into the mud and make
- 7:01Speaker 3: them play a four-quarter ball game with a chance to win?
- 7:04Speaker 4: That's the only way Iowa has a chance to win.
- 7:07Speaker 4: They need to muddy this game up. They need to
- 7:09Speaker 4: make it one-dimensional. Make Ohio State punt. Make Ohio State
- 7:13Speaker 4: offense watch the game. So that means you have to
- 7:15Speaker 4: establish the run early. Because if they don't, and the
- 7:18Speaker 4: best player in college football, right receiver, Ohio State, who
- 7:22Speaker 4: I think should be the number one pick in a draft,
- 7:25Speaker 4: if they can't stop him and they can't stop the
- 7:27Speaker 4: scoring Ohio State, there's no way Iowa's offense can go
- 7:30Speaker 4: toe-to-toe with Ohio State's offense. Iowa needs to muddy this up.
- 7:34Speaker 4: If you're going to bet Iowa, make sure you get 14.5
- 7:37Speaker 4: and not 14.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Florida with a big win over Ole Miss last week.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Ran them out of the swamp. Now they're on the
- 7:41Speaker 3: road at Missouri. Missouri took it on the chin to
- 7:43Speaker 3: Mississippi State. Tigers at Missouri back home, they are sitting
- 7:47Speaker 3: at getting 5.5. That total is at 57.5. Drinkwood's still,
- 7:51Speaker 3: I mean, he's done a good job, but he cannot
- 7:53Speaker 3: win a top 25 matchup, it seems. Can he do
- 7:55Speaker 3: it tomorrow?
- 7:58Speaker 4: I like the over on this game. Don't forget, Mississippi
- 8:01Speaker 4: State hung up a big number against Missouri. We saw
- 8:04Speaker 4: Florida hung up a big number against Ole Miss. I
- 8:07Speaker 4: think both teams hit the 30 mark. I like the
- 8:09Speaker 4: total just because I'll be rooting for Florida just because
- 8:13Speaker 4: my twin brother and all his family went to Mizzou,
- 8:16Speaker 4: so I always have to cheer against them. But I
- 8:18Speaker 4: like the over more than anything else because I think
- 8:21Speaker 4: we're going to see a lot of points scored.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Let's jump into some NFL real quick. Cowboys at Texans
- 8:25Speaker 3: battling the great state of Texas. Houston's the home team.
- 8:29Speaker 3: They're given three points, had totals at 48. Which Texas
- 8:33Speaker 3: team do you like?
- 8:34Speaker 4: I mean, I lean towards Dallas, but I'm going to
- 8:37Speaker 4: take the over on another one because Dallas is defensive. Ooh,
- 8:40Speaker 4: they got Porter, who has a bad back. They ain't
- 8:42Speaker 4: going to do anything. Their defense still has question marks.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Dallas does. I think C.J. Stroud could put some points
- 8:48Speaker 4: on the board, and we know Dallas could put some
- 8:50Speaker 4: points on the board.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Rams go across the country at Philly. They are the
- 8:53Speaker 3: favorite by 3.5 totals at 42.5. Two teams that will
- 8:57Speaker 3: have a say of some kind in this NFC race.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Which team gets the leg up?
- 9:01Speaker 4: I don't think Philly's going to have a say. They're
- 9:04Speaker 4: just coming off a bad loss to us. an almost
- 9:06Speaker 4: 40-year-old quarterback in Chicago, and now you have a short
- 9:09Speaker 4: week and you have to play the Rams in that defense,
- 9:12Speaker 4: and you're missing your right receiver one, the Eagles can't
- 9:15Speaker 4: even run the ball on Monday night. I like the
- 9:18Speaker 4: Rams on the road.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Patriots are almost a touchdown dog at Buffalo. This totals
- 9:23Speaker 3: at 50. There's reports Patriots may be without two players,
- 9:25Speaker 3: I believe a corner and a defensive tackle. I know
- 9:28Speaker 3: I'm right on one of those. I think it's the corner.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Can the Patriots hang around? Can they make it interesting
- 9:32Speaker 3: in the fourth quarter?
- 9:33Speaker 4: I think they can hang around. I got New England winning,
- 9:36Speaker 4: but it wouldn't shock me if they maybe lose by
- 9:38Speaker 4: four or five or six points. I'll take the plus
- 9:41Speaker 4: points on this one.
- 9:42Speaker 3: We've got, let's see, Broncos at 49ers. This will be
- 9:46Speaker 3: the 325 game in the afternoon. San Francisco giving up
- 9:49Speaker 3: two and a half. That total is at 47 and
- 9:50Speaker 3: a half. Good matchup here, AFC-NFC.
- 9:54Speaker 4: I actually like the Denver Broncos in this one. I
- 9:56Speaker 4: know San Francisco's undefeated, but I like the way Denver's
- 9:59Speaker 4: defense is getting back to Denver defense week after week.
- 10:03Speaker 4: I'll take Denver in this one. Give me the road team.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Let's wrap it on Monday night. Falcons at Saints. The Dome,
- 10:09Speaker 3: always fun to be at, especially on a Monday night
- 10:11Speaker 3: football game. Saints minus 2.5. That totals at 47.5. A
- 10:15Speaker 3: divisional ballgame here between the Saints and Falcons.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I say grab a two-and-a-half win shot if we
- 10:21Speaker 4: see a three just because, A, it's on Monday night. B,
- 10:24Speaker 4: it's the anniversary a couple weeks ago of the Miracle game,
- 10:30Speaker 4: the first game after Katrina where the Saints won where
- 10:33Speaker 4: Gleason blocked a punt, ran it back for a touchdown.
- 10:36Speaker 4: And who did they play that game? They played the
- 10:37Speaker 4: Atlanta Falcons in that game. So I like to say
- 10:40Speaker 4: it's a very soft number at two-and-a-half.
- 10:42Speaker 3: What else is going on this weekend?
- 10:45Speaker 4: We got football. We got UFC 332 in Salt Lake City.
- 10:49Speaker 4: We have baseball playoffs continue tomorrow, WNBA playoffs tonight, Game 3.
- 10:56Speaker 4: What else has been going on? NHL dropped a puck
- 10:59Speaker 4: this week, so it's always, always full schedule. Don't forget,
- 11:01Speaker 4: we have two weeks before the NBA hits off.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Hey, and you got 60 days of straight football from
- 11:07Speaker 3: now until whatever 60 days hits. Isn't that fun?
- 11:10Speaker 4: And we got 54 days until the primaries are done.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I know you work hard on those political odds.
- 11:17Speaker 3: What did you tell me the other day? How much
- 11:18Speaker 3: money is anticipated coming in? This is wild.
- 11:20Speaker 4: About a billion dollars would be bet on the primaries.
- 11:24Speaker 3: A billion dollars bet on the primaries, which is crazy.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Either we've got a gambling problem going on in the country,
- 11:31Speaker 3: and that's debatable here or there, or I didn't realize
- 11:33Speaker 3: people enjoyed betting on politics so much.
- 11:36Speaker 4: You know, it amazes me how much foreign money comes
- 11:40Speaker 4: in on all types of politics, not just U.S.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Politics.
- 11:43Speaker 4: I mean, we have politics ads for Ireland and Mexico
- 11:47Speaker 4: and all that, but it's very popular. And I always
- 11:51Speaker 4: tell people, never believe polls, always believe ads, because we're
- 11:54Speaker 4: going to believe someone's words or someone's wallet.
- 11:57Speaker 3: There is no doubt. Make sure to get him on
- 11:59Speaker 3: all the channels. Use the promo code Patty or Jake
- 12:02Speaker 3: Wham on MyBookie. As far as I have a great weekend, brother,
- 12:04Speaker 3: we'll talk soon.

- 12:57Speaker 3: at TheZone1059. com. Appreciate Raphael Esparza jumping on your radio. We're
- 13:27Speaker 3: brought to you by Mississippi Blood Services online at msblood.com.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Make sure to get them on Facebook and Instagram. They've
- 13:34Speaker 3: got a lot of great promotions coming up here in October.
- 13:36Speaker 3: We'll be telling you about starting next week. Let's go
- 13:38Speaker 3: to Beav, who's got some elevated text on the text line.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Oh. Yeah.
- 13:42Speaker 6: Text messages. First, I got a few here from ResDog.
- 13:46Speaker 6: He sent a couple earlier with predictions, score predictions. First,
- 13:51Speaker 6: he's going high school. He says, Hartfield 10, Tupelo a billion.
- 13:58Speaker 3: That's right. Tupelo is in town tonight. They're coming to
- 14:02Speaker 3: Hartfield tonight. And look, if you're just kind of a casual,
- 14:06Speaker 3: and I know a lot of people do this, especially
- 14:07Speaker 3: if your kids are graduated and you like high school
- 14:10Speaker 3: football and you like to just get out here and there,
- 14:12Speaker 3: if you haven't seen Tupelo, you need to go watch them. Now,
- 14:16Speaker 3: hopefully Hartfield can keep that thing in check for a
- 14:18Speaker 3: little bit. But, yeah, Tupelo are going to be over
- 14:21Speaker 3: there at Hartfield tonight, and they are tough to watch.
- 14:24Speaker 3: I mean, tough is like a fun team to watch.
- 14:28Speaker 6: Then his prediction moves on to college. He says, MSU 10,
- 14:31Speaker 6: Alabama a trillion.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Now, wait a minute. I thought he was back on
- 14:37Speaker 3: the Jeff Levy train. I bet you he got the
- 14:40Speaker 3: blackout tags. I bet you he has one that says, like,
- 14:42Speaker 3: Leb 1 or Leb Dog or Reb Les or something
- 14:46Speaker 3: like that.
- 14:47Speaker 4: KT1.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:49Speaker 6: Well, I think ResDog's conflicted today because that was the,
- 14:53Speaker 6: I told you I had a few. So the second
- 14:55Speaker 6: test was MSU 10 Alabama Trillion. But then fast forward
- 15:00Speaker 6: a little bit and he texted during Esparza's interview. I
- 15:03Speaker 6: didn't hear Esparza when he was talking about the game.
- 15:07Speaker 6: But ResDog says, did that? He called him a name
- 15:11Speaker 6: I can't say. So we'll just say he said butt face.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Okay.
- 15:14Speaker 6: Did that butt face just say Bama 59 to nothing?
- 15:19Speaker 3: Well, it was all in fun because he has picked
- 15:22Speaker 3: Mississippi State to lose every week. So he said, I'm
- 15:24Speaker 3: going to keep doing it this week so they'll win.
- 15:27Speaker 6: Oh, okay. ResDog picked them to lose by a little
- 15:31Speaker 6: under a trillion, but then he got mad that Raph
- 15:33Speaker 6: said they're going to lose by 59.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:37Speaker 6: Let's see.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Mr.
- 15:39Speaker 6: DX, Gator Matt called earlier. He was talking about Florida,
- 15:42Speaker 6: giving his predictions for the rest of the schedule.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Mr.
- 15:44Speaker 6: DX says he's exactly right about Florida. So he's in
- 15:48Speaker 6: agreement with Gator Matt, which is scary.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Matt's going to be, we're not going to be able
- 15:54Speaker 3: to handle Matt if they make the playoffs, are we?
- 15:56Speaker 6: No, no way.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Yeah, we would not be able to contain Matt if
- 16:00Speaker 3: they make the playoffs.
- 16:02Speaker 6: A name texter also texted a little bit after the
- 16:05Speaker 6: Gator Matt call. He said, why do you make us
- 16:08Speaker 6: listen to Gator Granny?
- 16:11Speaker 3: Gator Granny. Hey, you know this is an open forum.
- 16:14Speaker 3: We're going to take your calls unless you cattleman yourself.
- 16:17Speaker 3: We've said that for years, which if you've listened to
- 16:19Speaker 3: the show long enough, you know what I'm talking about.
- 16:21Speaker 3: You can call this show as long as you don't
- 16:23Speaker 3: cattleman yourself.
- 16:25Speaker 6: J-Dog says, Hey, Jake, how long until State catches up
- 16:28Speaker 6: with Alabama and wins in that series?
- 16:32Speaker 3: Ooh, man.
- 16:34Speaker 6: I actually looked it up.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Give it to me.
- 16:39Speaker 6: All it's going to take... Is Mississippi State to win
- 16:42Speaker 6: the next 68 meetings? And they'll tie them up because
- 16:45Speaker 6: the all-time record is Bama 86-18-3.
- 16:51Speaker 4: All-time.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Veev, that means I'm never going to see this.
- 16:56Speaker 1: No, man.
- 16:57Speaker 3: I'm 50. I would have to live to be 108.
- 16:58Speaker 3: You got to be hopeful.
- 17:00Speaker 6: You got to be hopeful that with the advances in
- 17:04Speaker 6: modern science and technology and.
- 17:09Speaker 6: AI coming, right? Because we're told that AI is going
- 17:13Speaker 6: to make things so much better for us, even though
- 17:15Speaker 6: we know that it's actually going to murder us.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:18Speaker 6: So you've got to believe, though, the people that tell
- 17:21Speaker 6: us Musk and such, that tells us it's going to
- 17:23Speaker 6: be awesome. Advancements in AI, advancements in science, your level
- 17:28Speaker 6: of income, I think you could live to 208.
- 17:31Speaker 7: Oof.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that....
- 17:37Speaker 3: That's a long way out. I don't know if any
- 17:39Speaker 3: of us is going to see, unless we get that advancement,
- 17:41Speaker 3: any of us is going to see state Ty Bama.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Maybe some toddlers in the car right now.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 17:47Speaker 6: Toddy just says roll tide from a man named Toddy.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Of course he is.
- 17:53Speaker 6: Makes sense. Three Hump Camel says, I believe he was
- 17:59Speaker 6: talking about the Mississippi State Alabama game. He said, if
- 18:02Speaker 6: this game is close, You're going to see some head-scratching calls,
- 18:05Speaker 6: especially if they are initiated from Birmingham.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Is he saying the officials are going to get involved
- 18:12Speaker 3: in this?
- 18:13Speaker 4: Yes.
- 18:13Speaker 6: You know, I've been kind of sort of a little
- 18:17Speaker 6: bit proud of the Mississippi State folk this week because
- 18:22Speaker 6: they haven't brought the normal– You know, they have that
- 18:25Speaker 6: inferiority complex that I always talk about against Alabama, and
- 18:29Speaker 6: they always love to talk about, man, they always are
- 18:33Speaker 6: calling stuff when State plays Alabama. I haven't really seen
- 18:37Speaker 6: that this week, but 3Hump Cam, I think he just
- 18:39Speaker 6: kicked us off there.
- 18:40Speaker 3: He kicked it off. I mean, you got to get
- 18:42Speaker 3: there at some point, and you can't get to the
- 18:44Speaker 3: end of it if you don't begin, so he just begun.
- 18:47Speaker 6: Fan of the Popper, is it just me, or has
- 18:49Speaker 6: there been 17 players named Ty.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Keyes It does seem like we've had... Maybe that's... I'm
- 18:58Speaker 3: going to put this in the Grok system over here.
- 19:00Speaker 3: We do have, it seems like, a lot of players
- 19:02Speaker 3: named Ty Keys.
- 19:04Speaker 6: Nick says, if Florida makes the playoffs... Oh, no. If
- 19:09Speaker 6: Florida makes the playoffs, we will hear from Lance again.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 19:14Speaker 3: We're going to bring him out of the ground, I guess.
- 19:17Speaker 3: I hope not.
- 19:18Speaker 6: And one more unnamed texter. Presupposing Alabama doesn't win... Another game,
- 19:28Speaker 6: you'd need to be 108.
- 19:29Speaker 1: 108.
- 19:29Speaker 6: What did I say? You said, I don't know, I
- 19:38Speaker 6: had you shooting for 208.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Oh, okay. 208's probably right.
- 19:43Speaker 6: Yeah, so, oh, okay, because you're 50.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Yeah, okay.
- 19:47Speaker 6: So you're, no, you're not 50 yet.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I'm 50 turned 50 this year.
- 19:52Speaker 6: You just turned 50 Jake I thought you were.
- 19:54Speaker 3: 48 I wish I was 40 well I feel 48
- 19:56Speaker 3: oh my.
- 19:56Speaker 6: God you're closer to dying than I thought so yeah
- 20:02Speaker 6: 50 58 more wins I'm sorry I named Texter they
- 20:04Speaker 6: actually need 68 wins to tie it it's 86 to
- 20:07Speaker 6: 18 So JQ would actually have to be 118. See,
- 20:12Speaker 6: this keeps getting worse.
- 20:16Speaker 3: The percentages of me seeing this get worse. Not happening.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I'm just going to accept it. I'm just not going
- 20:21Speaker 3: to see it.
- 20:23Speaker 6: And RezDog, just texted in, just now now. Beav, you
- 20:27Speaker 6: sound just like the Bama trailer trash kissing cousins from Demopolis.
- 20:35Speaker 6: I didn't do anything. I didn't do anything.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he just kind of Thank you, ladies.
- 20:40Speaker 3: I don't think you did anything. I don't think you

- 22:16Speaker 3: Lounge and the Bottleneck Blues Bar. Keith Hardy, astute sportsbook
- 22:19Speaker 3: manager on your radio. Keith, welcome in, sir. How are you?
- 22:23Speaker 2: My man, Jake Wimberly.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Thanks for having me.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Keith, it's hard to believe we're through one month. We're
- 22:28Speaker 3: into month two, and that's where kind of the rubber
- 22:31Speaker 3: meets the road, especially college football and the NFL, because
- 22:35Speaker 3: we start churning through this. Boy, I tell you what,
- 22:37Speaker 3: how much action, what are you guys seeing on Alabama-Mississippi State?
- 22:41Speaker 1: Oh, man, it's coming in on both sides, Jake. Just
- 22:45Speaker 1: like the book, we're getting tons of action.
- 22:50Speaker 2: On both sides.
- 22:51Speaker 1: A lot of Alabama Moneyline and Mississippi State plus the points. But, yeah,
- 22:59Speaker 1: probably the biggest game of.
- 23:01Speaker 2: The week in these parts.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Oh, there's no doubt.
- 23:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I'm pretty excited. And, Jake, I think we may have
- 23:10Speaker 2: an upset. I smell an upset brewing, Jake.
- 23:14Speaker 3: What we got?
- 23:16Speaker 2: Mississippi State.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Oh, you're talking about in that ballgame.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:19Speaker 3: No, look, I like Mississippi State's chances. I think they're
- 23:21Speaker 3: going to cover the points. I think they could win
- 23:23Speaker 3: it outright. If they can cut back on the penalties,
- 23:27Speaker 3: that's been the one thing with the Dogs is they've
- 23:29Speaker 3: been a highly penalized football team. If they can cut
- 23:35Speaker 3: back on the penalties, Alabama has played slow on the
- 23:39Speaker 3: road under Kalen DeBoer since he's been in Tuscaloosa, so
- 23:43Speaker 3: I think the dogs have a puncher's chance. The weather
- 23:45Speaker 3: looks like it's moved a little bit. It may not
- 23:47Speaker 3: start raining until later in the afternoon. So I do
- 23:50Speaker 3: like Mississippi State's chances in this game. Who do you
- 23:52Speaker 3: got winning, though? I got State, Jake.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Those dogs are barking, baby. Cowbells ringing. I'm with State.
- 24:03Speaker 2: I'd love to see it.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Keith, there's several other games of interest tomorrow. You know,
- 24:08Speaker 3: when you kind of look through here, Ohio State is
- 24:10Speaker 3: taking on Iowa. Game day will be there tomorrow. Ohio
- 24:13Speaker 3: State's given up 14.5. That total's 45.5. This has been
- 24:17Speaker 3: a lopsided rivalry. We know that in the Big Ten.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Ohio State is just about quadrupled them up in wins
- 24:23Speaker 3: in the history of the two teams playing each other.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Can Iowa muddy the thing up, though, and can they
- 24:28Speaker 3: keep it into the fourth quarter?
- 24:30Speaker 2: I like it, Jake.
- 24:31Speaker 1: That's one of my plays for the week. I'm taking
- 24:34Speaker 1: the points, 14.5. If it moves to.
- 24:38Speaker 2: 14, I'll add the hook on there. And I like
- 24:42Speaker 2: the under.
- 24:43Speaker 1: In that game as well uh another dog i like
- 24:47Speaker 1: tomorrow jake i think this is a nice game michigan
- 24:51Speaker 1: at minnesota minnesota coming off a big win michigan coming
- 24:54Speaker 1: off that tough loss that's another dog i like jake
- 24:59Speaker 1: yeah i think it's a dog day.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Afternoon tomorrow i think it very well could be and
- 25:03Speaker 3: a lot of people like row the boat sweater vest
- 25:05Speaker 3: pj fleck our last guest did two in Michigan has
- 25:09Speaker 3: just not looked good. Bryce Underwood has not looked good.
- 25:14Speaker 3: For whatever reason, they don't have that chemistry. They don't
- 25:16Speaker 3: have the dog in them, so to speak. I like
- 25:17Speaker 3: Minnesota in that ballgame as well.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I tell you, Jake, we got a couple of good
- 25:23Speaker 2: games tonight. Pittsburgh goes to Virginia Tech. Tough place to
- 25:29Speaker 2: play Friday night. It's going to be hopping. This is
- 25:33Speaker 2: Pittsburgh's first road game of the season.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I got an unusual play for this game. I like Virginia.
- 25:42Speaker 1: I think Pittsburgh can win.
- 25:43Speaker 2: The game, but I like Virginia Tech's first quarter, Jake.
- 25:48Speaker 3: I like that. I like it. You're taking advantage of,
- 25:50Speaker 3: you know, inner Sandman. That place is going to be crazy.
- 25:54Speaker 3: You know, Virginia Tech coming into this ballgame, they're giving
- 25:57Speaker 3: up 16 a game and averaging 43. They're sitting at 4-0.
- 26:00Speaker 3: They've won a couple road games at Maryland and Boston College. Conversely,
- 26:04Speaker 3: you know, Pittsburgh, they have– They are 4-0. They're scoring
- 26:09Speaker 3: right at 39 a game, giving only nine points up. But, Keith,
- 26:11Speaker 3: as you said, they've played at home. Miami of Ohio,
- 26:15Speaker 3: UCF Central Florida, Syracuse, and Bucknell. They have not been tested.
- 26:19Speaker 3: James Franklin really has a chance to put a stamp
- 26:21Speaker 3: on this Virginia Tech program tonight. I think he does that.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and, Jake, I was.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Surprised that the total is 54-and-a-half. I thought both teams
- 26:32Speaker 1: could play some good defense. I'm leaning towards the under
- 26:35Speaker 1: in that game. And in the second game, or actually
- 26:39Speaker 1: the third game, because we've got Ligonier-Delaware as well. But
- 26:43Speaker 1: Penn State travels to Northwestern. Northwestern opening up a new stadium.
- 26:49Speaker 1: And played Indiana pretty close. So I'm liking Northwestern.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Another first quarter play. New stadium.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Lots of excitement and enthusiasm. I think it may take
- 27:00Speaker 1: Penn State a minute to settle in.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm with you on that. Penn State shocked last
- 27:06Speaker 3: week against Wisconsin. They lost 24-20. Northwestern, this is a
- 27:10Speaker 3: team that's playing some pretty good football. They're sitting at 2-1.
- 27:13Speaker 3: As you mentioned, they played within six points of Indiana,
- 27:16Speaker 3: opening the new stadium tonight. Weird things happen on Friday.
- 27:20Speaker 3: I like Northwestern in this as well.
- 27:23Speaker 2: And, Jake, you know, it's not just college football, right?
- 27:26Speaker 1: Of course we've got the NFL on Sunday, but we've
- 27:28Speaker 1: got Major League Baseball playoffs. We've got WNBA playoffs. And
- 27:33Speaker 1: hockey has just gotten started. So lots and lots of action.
- 27:38Speaker 1: You know, of course, there's golf, tennis, auto racing, all
- 27:41Speaker 1: your favorites.
- 27:42Speaker 2: But, yeah, lots going on down here at Sportsbook at AmeriSoc.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Yeah, you've got everything kicking off tomorrow. You've got the
- 27:50Speaker 3: White Sox and the Guardians. Guardians are the favorite tomorrow. And,
- 27:54Speaker 3: of course, you've got Braves at Dodgers. Dodgers a pretty
- 27:56Speaker 3: big favorite, minus 205 to plus 165. Yankees at the Rays.
- 28:01Speaker 3: The Rays are the favorite, minus 132 to plus 110.
- 28:03Speaker 3: And you've got the Padres at the Brewers. Brewers minus 240,
- 28:07Speaker 3: plus 190. So, I mean, it'll be at a– I mean,
- 28:10Speaker 3: you talk about just on steroids. I mean, October a
- 28:13Speaker 3: lot of people feel like, and I agree, is arguably
- 28:15Speaker 3: the greatest month in sports because you've got football, you've
- 28:17Speaker 3: got baseball, you've got the puck dropping, you've got all
- 28:19Speaker 3: this stuff happening. And, Keith, I know that you guys
- 28:22Speaker 3: will have it on all over the place. If somebody
- 28:24Speaker 3: wants one of these games, they can find it there.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, Jake, and that's the thing.
- 28:30Speaker 1: We've got this big 30-foot video wall.
- 28:33Speaker 2: That's going to have all the college games on it.
- 28:35Speaker 2: But we've got 40 other TVs all around.
- 28:38Speaker 1: So we'll have every baseball game. We'll have the WNBA
- 28:42Speaker 1: playoffs going on. I forgot to mention them. We'll have
- 28:46Speaker 1: WNBA playoffs on. We'll have a hockey game on. It
- 28:50Speaker 1: won't be on the big screen, but we can find
- 28:52Speaker 1: a TV.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Close to where you're sitting at one of our tables,
- 28:55Speaker 2: and we can put it up there for you.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Keith, another college football game while we've got a few minutes.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Florida took Ole Miss out last week, and they just
- 29:04Speaker 3: walked them right out of the swamp. They go to
- 29:06Speaker 3: Missouri tomorrow. Missouri with a tough loss to Mississippi State.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Eli Drinkwitz has not performed. His teams have not performed
- 29:14Speaker 3: well in top 25 matchups. Can Missouri keep it close?
- 29:18Speaker 3: Can they beat Florida tomorrow night?
- 29:19Speaker 2: You know, I love the dogs.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I said it was going to be a dog day afternoon,
- 29:23Speaker 1: but I can't back Missouri on that one. Jake, I
- 29:26Speaker 1: want to say a lot of hearties out. I want
- 29:28Speaker 1: to say both edge rushes are questionable. There's an O
- 29:33Speaker 1: lineman out. I think there's too many injuries for for.
- 29:41Speaker 2: To overcome Florida. Florida is one of the few favorites
- 29:45Speaker 2: I like. I'll tell you another favorite I like.
- 29:49Speaker 1: The U.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Going up to see Dago and the boys. I think
- 29:54Speaker 2: they're going to win by 20 or more. Jake, any
- 29:58Speaker 2: thoughts on that one?
- 29:59Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely. Look, Miami is a team on a mission.
- 30:02Speaker 3: I know we're not talking a whole lot about Miami
- 30:04Speaker 3: just because of their schedule. And, you know, they had
- 30:07Speaker 3: some coaches, their offensive coordinator came out and took a
- 30:09Speaker 3: shot at the SEC this week and, you know, about
- 30:11Speaker 3: all the top 25 teams and nobody's talking about Miami. But,
- 30:14Speaker 3: you know, with Darian Mensah, you know, there's obviously and
- 30:16Speaker 3: rightfully so a lot of talk in this state about
- 30:18Speaker 3: Camario Taylor at Mississippi State, Trinidad Chambliss at Ole Miss
- 30:20Speaker 3: for the Heisman. Darian Mensah has thrown more touchdowns than
- 30:24Speaker 3: he has incompletions. I mean, that is a 30-year– I mean,
- 30:30Speaker 3: that spans– that's a 30-year watermark, high mark. You know, Tony,
- 30:35Speaker 3: the wide receiver there, is likely one of the best–
- 30:38Speaker 3: to me, the best player in college football. I think
- 30:40Speaker 3: they will absolutely run Dabo out of the building. And
- 30:43Speaker 3: this is the highest point total that a Dabo-Sweeney-Clemson team
- 30:46Speaker 3: has had to face since he was hired there 17
- 30:48Speaker 3: years ago.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Wow, how about that? Well, you know, Jake, he's going
- 30:52Speaker 2: to have to get into the portal.
- 30:55Speaker 3: They may put him in the portal, Keith.
- 30:57Speaker 4: Yeah, you're right, Dick.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Keith, tell everybody to come see you this weekend. We
- 31:02Speaker 3: want them to get out there.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Well, Dick, you know, like I tell your listeners, Akarat, Craps, Roulette,
- 31:13Speaker 1: all your favorite slot machines, video poker, live poker, right
- 31:17Speaker 1: here next.
- 31:18Speaker 2: To the end zone. And when you come down, oh,
- 31:21Speaker 2: we've got great restaurants. You get down here all day,
- 31:23Speaker 2: you're going to get hungry, you want a bite to eat,
- 31:25Speaker 2: fellas got burgers, wings, pizza.
- 31:27Speaker 1: If you want to sit down and just get full
- 31:29Speaker 1: and eat all you can eat, well, that's the Heritage Buffet.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Looking for a nice, something fancy, a nice steak dinner,
- 31:36Speaker 1: that's burgers.
- 31:37Speaker 2: And if you're looking for.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Something a little different, we've got Asian cuisine at the
- 31:40Speaker 1: Red Lotus.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Tons of stuff to do, bottleneck, blues bars, great for entertainment. And... Jake,
- 31:47Speaker 2: if you come down and say, I heard you on
- 31:49Speaker 2: the radio. I heard you on Jake Wembley's show. You
- 31:51Speaker 2: know what I'm going to do?
- 31:52Speaker 1: I walk you into the Gurkha Cigar Lounge, let you
- 31:55Speaker 1: pick out a stogie, and get you an adult bevy
- 31:58Speaker 1: on the house.
- 32:00Speaker 2: What do you say to that, Jake?
- 32:01Speaker 3: Keith, you're always the best at entertainment. Get out there.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Of course, grab that Biccolo Vulture Bud Light, courtesy of
- 32:06Speaker 3: Southern Beverage. Drink it responsibly. Just tell Keith you heard
- 32:08Speaker 3: him on the radio. He'll take you into the Gurkha, too.
- 32:10Speaker 3: And if you haven't been in there, it's a fantastic,
- 32:12Speaker 3: fantastic lounge as well. Keith, enjoy the weekend. It should
- 32:15Speaker 3: be good. Tomorrow at 11 o'clock will be fun. And
- 32:18Speaker 3: have a great weekend. We'll talk soon.
- 32:19Speaker 4: All right.
- 32:20Speaker 5: Thanks for having me, Jake.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Take care.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Thanks so much. Keith Hardy on your radio, brought to

- 33:24Speaker 3: Interesting to hear Keith say money hits, and I'm not surprised.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Money's coming in on both sides of Alabama and Mississippi State.
- 33:30Speaker 3: I think nationally probably more money on Alabama, but I
- 33:34Speaker 3: think there's obviously Mississippi State fans, pockets of the SEC,
- 33:39Speaker 3: and then other people as well. All right, Vanderbilt will
- 33:42Speaker 3: start Jared Curtis tomorrow. He's been listed as questionable for Georgia.
- 33:47Speaker 3: I think Georgia runs him out of the building. We'll
- 33:49Speaker 3: get to Wim's winners here in a bit. Also, Tennessee
- 33:51Speaker 3: starting left guard Wendell Moe is expected to miss the
- 33:54Speaker 3: remainder of the 2026 season. It's just been a tough
- 34:01Speaker 3: run for him. And, of course, injuries starting to mount
- 34:03Speaker 3: up for several teams. All right, let me go back
- 34:05Speaker 3: over here to the stack and see what we got.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Let me jump into some of the best games in
- 34:10Speaker 3: high school. We'll hold that. We'll hold that for the
- 34:12Speaker 3: next segment. High school football, as we'll do that now,
- 34:14Speaker 3: we're number three. The Big Ten's weak. early scheduling is
- 34:21Speaker 3: the main reason college football ratings are down, courtesy of
- 34:24Speaker 3: Andy Staples. We talked a little bit about this, about
- 34:26Speaker 3: the ratings are down around college football, 11%, but the
- 34:29Speaker 3: SEC is up 41%. If you took the SEC out
- 34:33Speaker 3: of all the ratings and put it by itself, 41% says, uh,
- 34:39Speaker 3: the chicken littles declared victory Wednesday when front office sports
- 34:42Speaker 3: reported that, uh, college football television ratings are down 11%
- 34:45Speaker 3: from the first month of 2025. Uh, it says, uh,
- 34:50Speaker 3: Staples says, see, the chicken little said, we told you
- 34:53Speaker 3: that paying these players would make people quit watching football.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Except that isn't the reason the ratings dropped. The real
- 35:01Speaker 3: reason actually is far more harmful to the future of
- 35:03Speaker 3: the sport if allowed to continue unchecked. It says, here's
- 35:07Speaker 3: the most scientific technical terms possible are the reasons the
- 35:11Speaker 3: ratings sagged. One, the matchups mostly sucked around the country.
- 35:17Speaker 3: The Big Ten needs to learn to schedule smarter. He says,
- 35:20Speaker 3: I'm not criticizing only the Big Ten. With the first point,
- 35:24Speaker 3: he said, a lot of teams need to schedule better
- 35:26Speaker 3: non-conference games. The most egregious and seemingly proudest offenders are
- 35:33Speaker 3: in the Big Ten. If you look at Indiana, their
- 35:35Speaker 3: first three weeks were not good. Ohio State did play Texas.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Michigan did play Oklahoma. Minnesota played Mississippi State, but there's
- 35:45Speaker 3: just not a lot of great matchups in the Big Ten.
- 35:47Speaker 3: He goes on to say, I am Criticizing only the
- 35:49Speaker 3: Big Ten with a second point, the league's insistence on
- 35:52Speaker 3: waiting until week three to schedule conference games hurts its
- 35:55Speaker 3: ability to put compelling games in every major TV window
- 35:59Speaker 3: and leaves it as a disadvantage as other leagues build
- 36:02Speaker 3: audiences sooner. Combine both issues and the league is shortchanging
- 36:08Speaker 3: its TV partners, ceding audience share to the SEC and
- 36:13Speaker 3: potentially devaluing future media rights deals. It's poor scheduling also
- 36:18Speaker 3: has helped push the sport to the brink of expanding
- 36:20Speaker 3: to a 2014 college football playoff that fans don't want.
- 36:24Speaker 3: And make no mistake about it, they've run these polls
- 36:26Speaker 3: around the country, and you may have been in on
- 36:28Speaker 3: some of those polls. Maybe you're polled on an email
- 36:31Speaker 3: or who knows. Most of the public didn't really want
- 36:35Speaker 3: a 2014 playoff. I'm not a big fan of it. Obviously,
- 36:39Speaker 3: if we get it, we'll watch it, but most people aren't.
- 36:43Speaker 3: And what this will do is continue to water down
- 36:47Speaker 3: the regular season. That's why Greg Sankey and even Tony
- 36:50Speaker 3: Petitti out of the Big Ten said, hey, if we
- 36:52Speaker 3: go to 24 teams, then we need to have each
- 36:55Speaker 3: team play at least 10 power conference games, meaning the
- 37:00Speaker 3: nine conference games plus an out-of-conference game. It says no
- 37:03Speaker 3: one in the SEC is worried about the 11% drop
- 37:06Speaker 3: because everyone knows it's the other league's fault. According to
- 37:10Speaker 3: a source with knowledge of Disney's viewership data, SEC minutes
- 37:15Speaker 3: were up 41% year over year for the season's first month.
- 37:19Speaker 3: And more particularly available stats, nine of the ten most
- 37:21Speaker 3: watched games so far have come out of the SEC.
- 37:25Speaker 3: The only game inside the top ten that was not
- 37:27Speaker 3: an SEC game was Wisconsin versus Notre Dame a few
- 37:32Speaker 3: weeks ago. Only three of the ten most watched games
- 37:35Speaker 3: included a Big Ten team. The Big Ten will close
- 37:38Speaker 3: this gap as the season progresses and its best brands
- 37:41Speaker 3: play one another, but it doesn't need to be the gap.
- 37:44Speaker 3: to be a gap here in the first place. You know,
- 37:48Speaker 3: Big Ten leaders are keenly aware of this issue. This
- 37:51Speaker 3: is why Commissioner Tony Petitti and the Big Ten came
- 37:55Speaker 3: on on three this past month and said the league
- 37:57Speaker 3: would happily comply with a proposed college football playoff rule
- 38:00Speaker 3: that the SEC requires 10 qualifying events, conference games plus
- 38:06Speaker 3: non-conference games, against powerful opponents and Notre Dame should the
- 38:10Speaker 3: expansion happen to 24. Fox, the Big Ten's most devoted
- 38:14Speaker 3: network partner, is behind the push to 24. The network
- 38:18Speaker 3: wants the expansion in part because it would allow Fox
- 38:23Speaker 3: to be competitive and have a competitive bid on the playoff.
- 38:27Speaker 3: And right now with a 12-team deal, they're just not
- 38:30Speaker 3: really in this thing. More importantly, Fox wants the expansion
- 38:33Speaker 3: because the change should cause the Big Ten to stop
- 38:36Speaker 3: giving Fox basically slop in the early weeks of the
- 38:39Speaker 3: college football season. CBS and NBC bosses likely feel the
- 38:44Speaker 3: same way. Fans overwhelmingly don't want the playoff to 24.
- 38:50Speaker 3: The only saving grace would be if teams scheduled more
- 38:53Speaker 3: compelling non-conference games. As a result, conference leaders swear teams will,
- 38:58Speaker 3: but the team's actions after the playoff total recently quadrupled
- 39:03Speaker 3: suggest they'll mainly equally coward. So this is out there,
- 39:08Speaker 3: you know, You've got to have better games. People aren't
- 39:11Speaker 3: watching Indiana versus Towson. They're not watching Northwestern versus Eastern Michigan.
- 39:18Speaker 3: But the SEC continues. And both of these things are true.
- 39:22Speaker 3: What are both things? The SEC or the Big Ten
- 39:24Speaker 3: is the best league in football right now. They've won
- 39:26Speaker 3: three national championships in a row. I don't know. that
- 39:30Speaker 3: they have the champion sitting in that conference this year.
- 39:33Speaker 3: It may be in the SEC with a Georgia or
- 39:35Speaker 3: a Texas or somebody else. Maybe Florida. Who knows? Could
- 39:39Speaker 3: be Miami. But the SEC is by far the most
- 39:42Speaker 3: watched league in the country. We'll get into some coaches
- 39:46Speaker 3: on the hot seat as Lincoln Riley may be in
- 39:48Speaker 3: trouble despite massive buyout numbers. These are reports from Yahoo
- 39:52Speaker 3: Sports as we move into the second month of the season.
- 39:56Speaker 3: There's some high, high buyout numbers, though. Lincoln Riley, for instance,
- 40:00Speaker 3: his buyout is at $ 60 million. And many around the
- 40:04Speaker 3: industry assume that Riley entered this season needing a trip
- 40:06Speaker 3: to the playoffs. But after a lowly performance at Rutgers
- 40:09Speaker 3: and a loss at home to Oregon, which played the
- 40:12Speaker 3: second half without starter Dante Moore. A playoff berth doesn't
- 40:16Speaker 3: look likely. Their schedule's loaded. So we'll get into these
- 40:19Speaker 3: buyout numbers. We'll get into high school football, Williams winners.
- 40:21Speaker 3: We've got a lot to pack into the next hour,
- 40:23Speaker 3: and we'll tell you about what you can hear on
- 40:25Speaker 3: your stations here tonight in high school football. Hour 3,
- 40:29Speaker 3: coming up next.
- 40:30Speaker 5: We'll be right back. Thank you.
