- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's Adam here and in. This.
- 0:42Episode of The Hypnotist. You'll be listening to a
- 0:45hypnosis session designed. To help the client.
- 0:49That I was working with to. Reframe how they thought.
- 0:53About porn and porn addiction is something that has increased
- 0:59massively over the years and I think partly that is down to
- 1:04the. Fact that it.
- 1:05Is widely available on devices that people carry around all
- 1:09over themselves, so there's not a lot of friction and it can
- 1:13give a dopamine. Boost and it's immediate.
- 1:17Gratification, but it comes at a cost, and that is an opportunity
- 1:21cost, but also an emotional cost.
- 1:23If you're meeting connection needs and sexual needs through
- 1:27porn, you're less likely to meet those same needs through real
- 1:31interactions. And I've worked with a few
- 1:34people with this addiction. And when you make it about
- 1:37something similar to people quitting smoking or quitting
- 1:40sugar, and you just say, right, you've got no desire to do that,
- 1:44it doesn't meet the underlying need of connection or sexual
- 1:49release. So what's really important is
- 1:52that you frame it not as something not to do, but just as
- 1:56a poor vehicle to meet that underlying need that actually
- 2:00you can use porn. But actually if you were in an
- 2:04amazing relationship or you were able to have your sexual needs
- 2:08met by a person, why would you then go back to a poor?
- 2:12Quality substitute. And I think that's a really
- 2:16powerful way of framing it. Not that it's wrong or shameful,
- 2:20it's just not a good vehicle to really meet the need.
- 2:25And this session uses future pacing.
- 2:28So it imagines A10 year timeline, 10 years of getting
- 2:33that need primarily met through porn probably leads to not a
- 2:37great place. But that same time, that same
- 2:40energy, that same thought space being led to cultivate something
- 2:45real, real relationships, real interactions, real connections
- 2:49probably enhances the quality of that person's life because they
- 2:52become someone more that they want to be.
- 2:55So if you're struggling with porn habits or porn addiction,
- 2:59it might even be a different sexual kind of addiction.
- 3:01It could be using sex workers or being addicted to kind of online
- 3:06chat rooms and and those kind of things.
- 3:09Then there will be a link in the show notes where you can
- 3:11schedule that consultation call with me because there is a lot
- 3:15of time and a lot of money spent in this kind of thing.
- 3:18And that itself has a huge opportunity cost, which if you
- 3:22zoom out over years can be really, really debilitating.
- 3:28So if you want to change that, then you know, we'll have a chat
- 3:31and we'll see if I'm the right person to work with you.
- 3:33In the meantime, this might be a useful session.
- 3:35So find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be
- 3:37disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:13Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in
- 4:20deeper than you normally would. And as you exhale, release the
- 4:27tension in your eyelids and allow your eyes to close on that
- 4:31outward breath. That's it.
- 4:35As you breathe in, breathe in a feeling of resourceful
- 4:42relaxation. Feel that sense of relaxation
- 4:47going in through your nose, into your lungs, and just allow any
- 4:55tension to feel like it's leaving your body in that
- 5:00outward breath. And as you breathe in and
- 5:06breathe out, scan your body for clues of tension.
- 5:13Maybe a tightness in the jaw, tension around the forehead, or
- 5:23maybe there's some kind of sensation in your neck or your
- 5:28shoulders. But I want you to use the power
- 5:33of your imagination to imagine that as you breathe in that
- 5:37resourceful relaxation, it starts to melt away that
- 5:41tension. And as you exhale, just imagine
- 5:47that tension leaving your body in that outward breath, enabling
- 5:56you to feel deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 6:06Deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 6:10And the more relaxed you become, the more your imagination
- 6:16awakens. I want you to imagine having a
- 6:24piece of paper and drawing a scene, a scene in nature with a
- 6:32river. But I want you to imagine that
- 6:37as you draw it, it becomes like a photo.
- 6:42So draw on that perfect scene, nature, blue skies, a river
- 6:48going through nature. And then I want you to imagine
- 6:55stepping into that picture and imagine how you would feel if
- 7:02you were out in nature. Maybe you could put your fingers
- 7:08in the river to feel the temperature of the water.
- 7:11Maybe there's a breeze on your face, sunshine on your skin, and
- 7:19for some reason nearby. I want you to imagine a sauna
- 7:26out in nature, with big glass doors giving you the perfect
- 7:34view of the river to make yourself comfortable in that
- 7:39sauna. Feel the increasing temperature,
- 7:45fear the sense that all tension is melting away.
- 7:49But see that river and notice how it's always flowing in that
- 7:55same direction. And I want you to imagine that
- 8:03any moments of shame or regret from the past, I want you to
- 8:09imagine projecting that from your body out onto the river
- 8:14like leaves. And the moment the leaves hit
- 8:18the river, the current takes them downstream.
- 8:25Any thought of the past, anything with the benefit of
- 8:28hindsight you wish you didn't do projected there onto the river,
- 8:34allow it to flow away. I want you to get a sense then
- 8:45this river continues to go through nature.
- 8:51I want you to imagine that sometimes rivers split into two.
- 8:59Think of a large river as the river meets the sea.
- 9:04Quite often deltas are created. Lots of smaller rivers fragment.
- 9:14Therefore a river has the ability to go into different
- 9:19directions. Keep your physical body in that
- 9:24sauna, but allow your imagination to follow the flow
- 9:27of the river and imagine seeing the river split into two.
- 9:36And maybe your mind imagines that.
- 9:41Isn't that like life choices? I want you to imagine that as
- 9:48the river splits into two, you start thinking of two different
- 9:53directions your life could go over the next 10 years.
- 9:59I want you to imagine a future where the only way you get your
- 10:06need for connection, particularly sexual connection,
- 10:10is through porn or something fake or fabricated.
- 10:22I want you to follow that, that side of the river.
- 10:28Imagine where it would take you. I want you to imagine seeing
- 10:32yourself over the next few days and weeks, see yourself finding
- 10:40ways around any kind of frictional blogs.
- 10:46And I want you to see yourself being someone that only gets
- 10:52that need from images, from videos or even live interaction.
- 11:02But there's always a pay paid element involved.
- 11:13And I want you to see that over the next few weeks and months,
- 11:15nothing really changes. But I want you to get a sense of
- 11:21where does that go to step into that version of you on that a
- 11:29pathway through life, a pathway where there could be real
- 11:34interactions, real relationships, dates,
- 11:39conversations, holidays together.
- 11:43But not not in this future. This future is all digital.
- 11:52It's all it's all limited to this feeling of safe control.
- 12:02No vulnerability here. What would it be like a year
- 12:11where you only get that need met through porn?
- 12:21What if porn led to paying for different forms of sexual
- 12:26services? I want you to follow that future
- 12:30timeline, see how much time feels like it's been wasted, how
- 12:38much money has been spent. And lots of these sites have
- 12:48insidious schemes and scams. I want you to follow that
- 12:55timeline five years in the future, Five years of no
- 13:04meaningful relationships, just getting your needs met through
- 13:12this way that feels safe, way that you can control.
- 13:23I want you to really connect with all that you could have
- 13:30lost on this pathway, a relationship, a connection,
- 13:38incredible moments. I want you to feel that this
- 13:42pathway, this river route is where you're choosing a poor
- 13:48quality substitute for something real.
- 13:54This is the pathway, the route that leads to sex robots and sex
- 13:59workers of increased probability of STIs or being exploited in
- 14:09some way. And I want you to take it to the
- 14:14worst possible but probable outcome of being on this life's
- 14:21journey, a place that could be devastating to your confidence,
- 14:30detrimental to your health and well-being.
- 14:33And when you get to that place where it goes horribly wrong,
- 14:40but it's a natural cause and effect relationship of being on
- 14:44this pathway. Let me know by nodding your
- 14:46head. Amplify it.
- 14:58Make it even worse. Maybe it becomes worse by being
- 15:02public knowledge. What does it do to your
- 15:05reputation? What does it do to your
- 15:07confidence levels? What does it do to your ability
- 15:10to get your life back on track? Is your life a source of pride
- 15:16or a source of mockery and shame?
- 15:19Only you get to decide. And what it feels like perhaps
- 15:26you're now 10 years in the future of this timeline, maybe
- 15:30alone, maybe dependent on other things, maybe this pathway has
- 15:35leaded to other habits, other behaviours.
- 15:42But it feels like enough is enough and you want to avoid
- 15:45this future. Let me know about nodding your
- 15:46head. That's it.
- 15:56And then just imagine rewinding everything.
- 16:01Everything happens in reverse. It all goes back to that point,
- 16:08the point in the present. But let's explore a different
- 16:13river route. What if the time that you were
- 16:18currently giving to porn, you were giving to things that
- 16:24either made you the person that would naturally find the kind of
- 16:31relationship you would want, or lead to interactions with real
- 16:39people, real conversations, real experiences.
- 16:47No need for an artificial substitute if you can have the
- 16:52real thing. I want you to get a sense then.
- 17:00Sometimes what feels gratifying can also be unhealthy.
- 17:08Be at the point where the river splits into two, and imagine
- 17:11your favorite fruit, something that at its best is delicious.
- 17:21And imagine some kind of confectionery, some kind of
- 17:26sweet that has artificial flavourings that are meant to be
- 17:31that flavour but aren't. Consider the path of porn, a
- 17:36path of fake substitute synthetic substitutes designed
- 17:43to represent reality but not be reality.
- 17:51And then consider this new route.
- 17:54Real experiences, real moments, real interactions.
- 18:01And then follow that pathway as you imagine biting into that
- 18:04delicious fruit, feeling that it's real.
- 18:08Follow that pathway and imagine a future of real conversations,
- 18:17real interactions, real shared experiences together.
- 18:25And maybe you consider stepping stones across a river.
- 18:33What if flirting or interactions are just a stepping stone to
- 18:39dates? What if dates are just a
- 18:42stepping stone to compatibility? And what if compatibility it's
- 18:50just a stepping stone to explore a possible relationship?
- 18:58What if the early days and weeks of a relationship are for you to
- 19:04figure out? Is this something you want to
- 19:08continue with or explore other options?
- 19:13But it's all real. I want you to get a sense that
- 19:19on this pathway, each interaction can lead to real
- 19:27possibilities. But as you go down this route of
- 19:36the river, feel with every every mile down the river feel that
- 19:44you're becoming more of the person you want to be more
- 19:47confident, more athletic, you're becoming more financially
- 19:53resourceful. There is a feeling of sky high
- 20:01self esteem. And I want you to imagine on
- 20:05this river route, imagine being in a situation where you see
- 20:09someone that is the kind of person you're attracted to.
- 20:15Imagine making eye contact, figuring out that you're being
- 20:21given a green light, an invitation to approach.
- 20:24It could be the eye contact, could be a smile and feel, a
- 20:34pull. The moment you get the
- 20:37invitation, you're pulled and all you need to do is introduce
- 20:43yourself. Nothing complicated, you need to
- 20:48remember. No chat up lines or cheesy
- 20:52phrases. Just an introduction may be
- 20:55followed by a compliment. Feel comfortable doing this,
- 21:01confident doing this, and the worst comes to the worst, you've
- 21:09misread the situation. Apologize, wish them a good day
- 21:15and move on. Consider this a shot to nothing.
- 21:23If it goes well, maybe you ask for a number, ask if they'd like
- 21:30to meet sometime, and if it doesn't, no harm done.
- 21:40And imagine this route of the river, each month increasing the
- 21:47probability of you finding something so valuable you would
- 21:52never want to go back to those poor quality substitutes.
- 22:01Perhaps go even further into the future.
- 22:03Just imagine some kind of family gathering, some kind of big
- 22:09reunion, and imagine you being there with the person you're
- 22:14proud to be with, a relationship that you value.
- 22:21And if this feels like it has upsides and the downsides are
- 22:33still real human downsides, what we can call reality.
- 22:42If this feels more desirable, let me know.
- 22:45By nodding your head. I want you to give yourself
- 22:54permission to be the person you've always wanted to be.
- 23:02You don't want to be that person 10 years from now, no
- 23:07relationships, just watching porn.
- 23:11You want to be the version of you, but when you look in the
- 23:17mirror, you're proud of that person, proud of what you've
- 23:20built, proud of who you've become.
- 23:26And every time you make the decision that you just don't
- 23:31want that poor quality substitute, you want the real
- 23:35thing, your confidence will increase.
- 23:39Yourself worth will increase and therefore, whether it's in the
- 23:48next few weeks or few months, you might be surprised at just
- 23:53how infrequently the thought of porn even pops into your mind.
- 24:01It exists, but you just don't want it.
- 24:05Consider this a seed planted in your subconscious mind that will
- 24:11continue to grow as you sleep. Before long, just because you
- 24:19can do something doesn't mean you want to do something.
- 24:27So breathe in and breathe out and feel like you're returning
- 24:33to that sauna by the river, thinking about your future,
- 24:37thinking about the kind of person you want to be.
- 24:41Knowing that every small choice that you decide you just don't
- 24:49want it, maybe because it's linked to disgust or poor
- 24:54quality or some something undesirable, you are increasing
- 25:02your desire for something real. You are unlocking all of the
- 25:08resources to pursue those real things, but now it's time to
- 25:15return to the present. So imagine walking back through
- 25:20that picture, back into your reality, and then take a deep
- 25:26breath in through your nose and out through your nose.
- 25:31Just wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 25:33Connect fully with the here and now as I count from 1:00 to
