Transcript
- 0:00Hello there. It's most things Kenobi.
- 0:04This is the podcast you're looking for.
- 0:19Hi, everyone, welcome to another episode of most.
- 0:21Thanks Kenobi. A podcast about Obi-Wan Kenobi
- 0:24and all things Star Wars. I'm your host Lauren, and I'm
- 0:27your host Leanne, and this week, we're wrapping up the kitchen,
- 0:3150 Arc, we're going to discuss escape from kadavo.
- 0:36Yes, I don't even know what to say.
- 0:40Well, the official description of the episode says a grim
- 0:44situation that grows increasingly Bleak accurate.
- 0:47Grim is a good. Word for it.
- 0:49Truly that could be the entire Star Wars saga the grin.
- 0:55Yeah, yeah, this is where poor Obi-Wan suffers the most and
- 1:02Rex. It's it's awful dude.
- 1:05Like just this opening sequence is so horrific.
- 1:11I don't know watching it with a more critical eye to like pay
- 1:14attention so we could talk about it.
- 1:16I really feel it's sad. It really is sad and it's not.
- 1:22So we mentioned last week. How everyone in this whole Arc
- 1:31is made aware that they are a slave quote unquote to somebody,
- 1:36right? And that really comes to head to
- 1:38a head in this episode you know because Dooku shows up right?
- 1:44And of course Palpatine / Sidious is behind the whole damn
- 1:50thing. Right?
- 1:51Right. And a lot of lives are lost.
- 1:56So yeah, it's a grim situation turned increasingly Bleak, but
- 2:01you brought up something that made me literally pause what I
- 2:06was doing at the time that you texted me, the last episode was
- 2:09called slaves of the Republic, not slaves, of zygerria, more
- 2:15slaves of the Empire or slaves of the separatists.
- 2:18It was slaves of the Republic. Yeah.
- 2:20I it's like, it never registered in my brain before me.
- 2:25Not until you said that. And then I sat and thought about
- 2:27it, I'm like, oh my God, the third episode of this Arc, the
- 2:31one we're talking about really shows it.
- 2:33Like they offered to do all this for, you know, the cause the
- 2:40Jedi cause but they're doing it for the Republic, right?
- 2:44And it's, it's all under Palpatine.
- 2:47Yeah, just throw them in this terrible.
- 2:50I just, it just really brought it home for me when you sent me
- 2:54that text. Message I was like, oh, fuck,
- 2:57yeah, because they're not slaves.
- 2:58Like the slaves are not of the Republic, the slaves are
- 3:03kidnapped by separatists and is a giri.
- 3:05And so I was like, wait a minute, they're clearly making
- 3:11their point without our without a lot of us noticing.
- 3:15I think and I think the poor people of the curto routines of
- 3:19Kiros that this whole thing started with we finally get to
- 3:23see the most of them in this. and I think it's been about
- 3:26Anakin Ahsoka Obi-Wan Rex to an extent, you know, all of the
- 3:32Republic people with the implication that they have to
- 3:36save the people of Kiros from this slaving Empire, but it's
- 3:40been them being slaves, and being kept and being tortured
- 3:44and being used all up until this point when we finally get to
- 3:47rescue, the people of Kiros, which is why we're here in the
- 3:49first place left to Glass mi get But this, this note, if no one
- 4:00had a good time in the last episode, this is just a that was
- 4:04a bad day. This is a bad week wrapped into
- 4:07one episode. Yeah, we don't even know how
- 4:10much time has passed. It's true.
- 4:13That's, I've always been curious because like Obi One also has no
- 4:18idea that anyone is ever coming for him and Rex.
- 4:21They don't even know where they are, right?
- 4:23Right. And they're in this Because a
- 4:25guillotine spurred right there put on a ship with no windows
- 4:30and they arrive in this place that they don't know that.
- 4:34No one ever tells them where they are and I've started to,
- 4:38like, look very carefully. Like there's, there's no
- 4:40windows, there's no sunlight, it's all toxic are.
- 4:45It's hard labor. They're being beaten, starved
- 4:48and humiliated With no end in sight, you brought it up.
- 4:53I wanted to, I don't know if people are aware of this fact.
- 4:57And I know this because I researched it for my Luke story,
- 5:00mmm, that kadavo itself. They chose that planet as the
- 5:07home base of there, slaving of their facility because if the
- 5:13slaves in the facility escaped they would immediately die due
- 5:18to the poisonous air. A fake, it's terrible, it's a
- 5:23planet full of like craters that emit acid.
- 5:26Yeah, and like, it's a really stable low atmosphere.
- 5:30So it keeps it doesn't get mixed out.
- 5:32It stays stagnant. That's interesting.
- 5:36So, like it makes sense from their point of view, like
- 5:39Nigeria, let's put them on a planet where if they, if they do
- 5:41decide to leave, they're going to die anyway.
- 5:45That's horrible. It's like Alcatraz, it is It's
- 5:52just like that. That part just that's off this
- 5:55horrible. So Obi-Wan and Rex, get taken
- 5:58there, I would say, a few days have gone by at least because
- 6:01yeah, I'll be one. Seems at his and not his wits
- 6:05and or like the end of it, but he's just, he's obviously worn.
- 6:09He gets pushed really far and like, there are things that I
- 6:12noticed that I kind of hadn't noticed before even though watch
- 6:15the six million times in the beginning where That slave is
- 6:21getting whipped in front of ov1 and they tell them to beg.
- 6:25He has this look on his face for a second.
- 6:27Like he doesn't even know what to do.
- 6:30Yeah. And then he just like gets on
- 6:33his knees as there's begging, the them to stop hurting this
- 6:36other poor creature. This just, I can't even like,
- 6:40even talking about, this is awful.
- 6:41I hate even saying these words and Like that's insane.
- 6:47And then later, when the queen is, like telling Dooku what's
- 6:52happening to 0, b 1 and you see the zai Jian come up and like
- 6:56kick his food and he goes still like his first reaction is anger
- 7:01and that is not something we see very often.
- 7:05So he's already pushed Beyond his stoic.
- 7:10Jedi calm self and is having emotional.
- 7:15Reactions that you don't see anywhere else.
- 7:19No but that's what those kind of conditions will do to a person
- 7:22over and over and over and over. You know it's what he says right
- 7:26at the beginning. Everything about this place is
- 7:29designed to shatter the will and it's suspended over a giant
- 7:34crater a bottom that iater. It's disgusting.
- 7:37I actually fucking hate it. It's so awesome.
- 7:43It's brilliant from a storytelling.
- 7:45View because they were creative enough to think this through,
- 7:48you know, think like a slaver. Would I guess.
- 7:51My favorite part of the episode is when the queen as she dies,
- 7:57she tells Anakin you were right Skywalker.
- 8:01I am a slave just as you are mmm-hmm, maybe a little too late
- 8:06Queen, you know. But she also made the point that
- 8:12just as you are until Anakin a former slave, that he's still a
- 8:16slave that would rub Anakin the wrong way.
- 8:19That would linger with him. He's already pissed, right?
- 8:21Right. Well, I mean pissed in general
- 8:23because Anakin but pissed because like the slaves and he
- 8:28has to deal with this and he doesn't know where I'll be want
- 8:31is and all this stuff and yeah, he's getting to his maximum.
- 8:34But for the queen to like Basically admit like yeah I was
- 8:40a slave just as you are those are keywords I think but I like
- 8:45that she admitted it. Yeah, I also liked that she
- 8:48gives like a little laugh and she's dying this queen because
- 8:53she knows she is herself like her true self all the way to the
- 8:57end. Like she yes she's such an
- 9:00interesting character but I agree.
- 9:03I I've noticed that in the whole rest of the episode.
- 9:09And I could just kills every zai geryon.
- 9:11He comes across from this point forward.
- 9:15Yes. And yes, he does.
- 9:17He enjoys it. I'm not gonna lie, I kind of
- 9:21enjoyed it too. Well, it's there's this like
- 9:25this technique in film and movies and books will you know,
- 9:29and he's kind of Storytelling where you push the audience out
- 9:34of their own mortal Comfort Zone by putting them with the There's
- 9:38there's I don't recommend watching it as a movie called
- 9:42dogville, which is super upsetting, don't watch it.
- 9:45But what it does is it takes a morally dubious character.
- 9:53Someone that you might not actually like and you make her
- 9:56feel so you make the audience feel so sorry for her that when
- 10:00she commits this horrific act at the end, you're like, that's
- 10:03exactly what those people deserved and you become as bad
- 10:07as they are. yes, and it's kind of interesting when We feel that
- 10:13way, we even said it, what were we talking about?
- 10:17There was something else we were talking about where?
- 10:19Oh, it was Deidre at the end up? Yeah.
- 10:22Or yeah, yeah. For their like dragging her and
- 10:25and for a minute, I was kind of like they'll shake out of
- 10:27deserves that I wasn't. I wasn't totally upset to see
- 10:33her struggling, right? It was a little satisfying and
- 10:37when you I think, especially people who aren't Likely to harm
- 10:43other people watching this kind of stuff.
- 10:45Like, I was just saying, it's hard to even talk about this
- 10:47episode, it's uncomfortable. So by the end we're like yeah, I
- 10:51just kill all the sea genes to fucking awful.
- 10:54You're terrible. I feel like Anakin was probably
- 10:59well. I like again he got to the end
- 11:02of his capacity to handle it so he just didn't and killed but he
- 11:08also probably felt in some way like it through the example that
- 11:12you just provided justified in just mowing them down.
- 11:16Hmm. Because they're all horrible
- 11:19people. They all did Terrible Things.
- 11:22Yeah, he's had to withhold or restrain himself up until this
- 11:26point, you know? And he, he just wanted to get to
- 11:30Obi-Wan and Rex, anyway, well, and speaking of them, that's the
- 11:35second greatest part of this episode to me me to, like, I
- 11:39love that scene because it's the same exact thing I'm assuming
- 11:44were talking about when Rex stabs the.
- 11:49Oh yeah, prison Warden. It might be the sexiest moment
- 11:53in reqtest, right? Rex is super hot in this
- 11:55episode. Rex's are throwing that out
- 11:58there boss. Yeah I'm a fan.
- 12:01Any big fan in that moment when keeper Argus says come now
- 12:07Master Kenobi you I know you won't kill an unarmed man come
- 12:11Master Kenobi. I know a Jedi won't kill an
- 12:15unarmed man Obi-Wan looks at Rex in this way where it's like our
- 12:20You gonna do it? Or am I gonna do it?
- 12:25One of us is doing it. Yeah, and people forget that
- 12:29I'll be one kills. They always forget because he
- 12:33doesn't really in Clone Wars, but, Ewan, McGregor's version of
- 12:38Obi-Wan. Oh, yes, kills a lot of
- 12:40creatures without without a second, guess.
- 12:44And he's always cutting off limbs.
- 12:47Oh well, I don't just mean. And again, I mean everybody even
- 12:52old Obi-Wan Cuts limbs off in the canteen.
- 12:55Has he written? He really does.
- 12:58So I really don't think that was Obi-Wan hesitating.
- 13:02I think that was him looking at Rex.
- 13:03Like if you want to go right ahead, the offers here, the
- 13:07offers here, Rex and Rex took it?
- 13:09I know it's so good. The best part is that they
- 13:12always have to drop the one liner, right?
- 13:14It was so good to oh my God. So satisfying.
- 13:20It's great. What does he say?
- 13:24Does he say? I'm not a Jedi, he says, I'm no
- 13:26Jedi on the Jedi, but I'm sorry the way that guy's a little
- 13:35motor chair. Smashes emotive.
- 13:38Jeff wall. He's such a fat-ass that he
- 13:41needs a motor chair. It's so funny and gruesome at
- 13:45the same time. It's like he's version of a
- 13:49Costco scooter. I'm not making fun of people
- 13:52know, a little rascal. Yeah.
- 13:55George Costanza in the little rascal ran down New York City.
- 13:59Oh my God. You're so right.
- 14:01This is the Star Wars version of Let's go.
- 14:05Well, I'm glad he died in his chair because he wasn't getting
- 14:08out of it for anything. No.
- 14:10Well, and he was always able to float.
- 14:11Just tie it up that no one could actually reach him and kill him.
- 14:15Sprite except for export price, had the reach, he could be a
- 14:18javelin, he could. Could an Olympian?
- 14:22Yeah, damn. It was very impressive and sexy.
- 14:27Yeah, I mean yeah I'm team rex. Yeah, same and I think I do like
- 14:35that it was Obi-Wan and Rex instead of Anakin and Rex.
- 14:37Usually it's the other way around, right?
- 14:39So everyone gets gets to bond with Rex over this, you know, in
- 14:43future talks. Hey remember that time?
- 14:46Yeah, right. Javelins speared some dude, in a
- 14:50Didn't care and it went not just through the guy, but through the
- 14:54chair. Yeah, man, we gotta write a
- 14:59scene where they get drunk together and talk about this,
- 15:04that'd be so, okay, I'm down or like, where they're all sitting
- 15:10around is a big group talking or like drinking after a really
- 15:14hard Mission. And then over one and rest,
- 15:16start talking about this horrific stuff that only like
- 15:20they, They are bonded over the yeah that they are forever
- 15:23bonded, over whatever went down in that basement.
- 15:26Yeah. What was it like a coal there
- 15:29shoveling? Yes.
- 15:31Or mining or doing something? And like, probably even just
- 15:34pointless also. Oh yeah.
- 15:36For sure. It really reminded me of some
- 15:39Industrial Revolution photography that's kind of
- 15:42famous. There's one of a guy tightening
- 15:45rivets on a steamship I think Called Powerhouse, mechanic
- 15:53working on Steam pump by Lewis Hine.
- 15:55Like it's a it's a really famous photograph.
- 15:57If you look it up, you will recognize it.
- 15:59And it's this guy with like super big muscles like cranking
- 16:02like tightening rivets. And it's exactly like that shot
- 16:06of the two Groot. Ins moving the crank together.
- 16:11It almost reminds me of modern times by Charlie Chaplin.
- 16:15If you've ever seen that movie, it's fucking great.
- 16:18And it's not right. To laugh at this part but it I
- 16:22think it was like a reference, honestly, I really do
- 16:26interesting. So, that'll opening sequence
- 16:31with everyone in Rex, like, Rex's face is so heartbreaking.
- 16:38Yeah, he doesn't even speak. He's just witnessing all of this
- 16:43and you could even say that. He's a true slave of the
- 16:46Republic. He was young morning bred and
- 16:49trained to be a slave. You're right disposable even.
- 16:55Mmm, I've heard that said. Before.
- 16:58Yeah, the end. He's the only one who doesn't
- 17:01say anything. He.
- 17:03Yeah, he doesn't say anything. No, he never gives his opinion.
- 17:06And he's the one who probably besides Anakin who, of course
- 17:11was a slave. But yeah, I mean it's
- 17:13interesting because even the Jedi most of them were taken as
- 17:17babies with no, say whatsoever and in their future.
- 17:22And by the time, you're old enough to make a decision of
- 17:25whether or not you want to say a Jedi, you're pretty well.
- 17:28And truly brainwashed by then yeah you're already in your yeah
- 17:31percent in. You've drunk the Kool-Aid it's
- 17:34all you know anyway. Yeah exactly and you have these
- 17:37Powers. What are you gonna do with them?
- 17:39Yeah. Right.
- 17:40You know, levitate rocks for a living.
- 17:43You have all this cool stuff that no one else has so you
- 17:47might as well just stay and endure it.
- 17:48But yeah, yeah, Rex and his boys, they just never had a
- 17:54choice really as we as we come to know.
- 17:57And there's That interesting episode where they cut lock
- 18:01Wayne is that his name, the guy, who's a deserter who has a
- 18:05family? He said, oh, yeah.
- 18:06Yeah. And there's that conversation
- 18:08between him and Rex which is kind of interesting and I guess
- 18:13they kind of like, I wonder if Rex is opinion changes because
- 18:18that's like season 2. It is.
- 18:20It's pretty early. Yeah, so by the time he gets to
- 18:22season seven where he's having to kill his own brother's.
- 18:26I wonder how different his opinion.
- 18:27Is, you know, I don't know if they know his opinion when we
- 18:31get to bad batch. Yeah, he's great in bed, badge.
- 18:34I mean, by that point, I mean by that point, he's had the spoiler
- 18:38alert, he said, the chip removed right.
- 18:42Shit. That's a soldier that seen
- 18:44stuff, you know? Yeah.
- 18:46It's like when we saw in the Kenobi series, the soldier, the
- 18:49Clone, mmm. It was like, homeless in the
- 18:51street. Like, I wonder if their opinion
- 18:53changes. It's like early on sure.
- 18:55They're all gung-ho. It's what were bred to do?
- 18:57Its what? We're Born to do it.
- 18:58So I'll go down for my team, and my crew and everything, and then
- 19:02slowly of wears on and on, and you get through all these
- 19:05different missions, including this one and I'm sure Rex had an
- 19:08opinion. Hmm, formed that went against,
- 19:11you know, his conditioning. Yes, he should shit.
- 19:15If the Jedi are having a and they're waking up to this, I
- 19:20would assume the Clones, would ya depending on the missions and
- 19:23stuff. Absolutely well, and after like,
- 19:26the pong Krell episodes that we talked about that are just prior
- 19:29to this sequence. Like just this season alone, I'm
- 19:33sure what have impacted Rex's opinions by the end of it all.
- 19:38Yeah, because that It was a mess.
- 19:41Yeah. I would love to do an episode
- 19:42about that. Yeah we will and I also it'd be
- 19:45very interesting to do an episode about The Citadel and
- 19:48like kind of compare the Citadel to this Nigerian facility
- 19:52because there's some similarities The Citadel was
- 19:56made to keep Jedi. Like what are we doing?
- 19:59So like why is this thing even existing?
- 20:02We will talk about that. We need to do an arc describing
- 20:06the Citadel shit because so good.
- 20:09It's so good. Oh my God.
- 20:12But oh I'm so much comes to light and there's so many
- 20:15moments but like I know. Ah but again what the fuck it's
- 20:20so it's like there's so many parallels to it to end like even
- 20:23that it's built on a planet that's like gonna kill you if
- 20:26you escape. Same.
- 20:28Yeah. But kill Jedi what?
- 20:31So which came first of the arcs in the show or just like no you
- 20:36don't mean like, who decided to put all of?
- 20:39These facilities on planets that you can't escape from.
- 20:43Was it the Jedi that came up with it?
- 20:45And then the separatist took the idea of the flavors?
- 20:48I don't know. Did the slavers come up with it?
- 20:52Well, it comes to play here morality wise because let's say
- 20:56the die the zygerrians and other slaving communities came up with
- 21:00this. The Jedi had to have looked at
- 21:02that and said, you know what? We could use that Daddy fucked
- 21:06up, right? It's everything about the
- 21:08Cedella confuses me. Because Anakin says it was built
- 21:12to imprison Jedi who had lost their way and you and I have
- 21:17always asked like did the Jedi build it because it's now under
- 21:20separatist control like right? But what happened there?
- 21:25Like, what the fuck is that story?
- 21:27I'm interested very interested. Well, stay tuned.
- 21:30We'll cover it seriously because all of this ties together and it
- 21:36really ties into the bigger picture of like, What the fuck
- 21:39were the Jedi actually doing? What was the Republic actually
- 21:42doing? But we know that Palpatine was
- 21:45ruling both. So it's like, right, not that
- 21:48surprising, it's true. But at the same time, it's like
- 21:52WTF. I don't know.
- 21:53It's it's a lot, it's a lot. Well, if we go back and look at
- 21:59like the queen and Anakin's interactions because there's
- 22:02some interesting stuff that goes on there, when Dooku arrives.
- 22:06Like one thing really quick, I wanted to mention to, I did a
- 22:11little bit more research on the Babylon tie-in and yes, yes,
- 22:15yes, yes. There's actual like the
- 22:18Babylonian Hanging Gardens are like a famous thing and there's
- 22:21hanging like plants and roses and stuff all over like,
- 22:26hovering in these Ver vases I guess like all yeah over the
- 22:30palace. I thought that was a really
- 22:31cool. Little addition, they added in
- 22:34there. I would love to have hovering
- 22:36Planters. Yeah.
- 22:38Me too, especially if they watered themselves they have to
- 22:41have a watering system, right? Yeah, and Babylon.
- 22:44Did it had like Aqueduct and stuff like that?
- 22:46Yeah. If some Babylonians, when I come
- 22:49in, you know, do my backyard. That'd be awesome.
- 22:56Well, we could get the Fat guy in the chair, he could zoom
- 22:58around and water them for for you in the chair.
- 23:03Okay, whatever. If it stays no more spine?
- 23:06Yeah, I could stuff out. Did you research anything else
- 23:10on Babylon? Yeah, I kind of went, I went on
- 23:13a crazy side tangent, researching it because I wanted
- 23:18the other nuggets. Do you have?
- 23:19Well, I was really interested because Ahsoka is hanging in a
- 23:23cage off the side of the Citadel cast.
- 23:27Whatever the palace. So I was trying to find out if
- 23:31that was something practiced in Babylon.
- 23:35I could not find anything about it but it was definitely
- 23:38something that was practiced in. The United Kingdom and other
- 23:42parts of Europe in the Middle Ages.
- 23:46So yeah, I'd get into some really disturbing research
- 23:50there. Is it gonna discolor my
- 23:54rose-colored glasses for Babylon?
- 23:57No. I mean Babylon is its own shit
- 24:00show, honestly. But it it really is, it really
- 24:02is. Let's talk about Ahsoka because
- 24:04this is where I have a problem with this episode, okay?
- 24:07And I've never liked the ending of this episode.
- 24:10Me either I we've got this really that.
- 24:13Yeah, we have not discussed it because she seems awfully
- 24:19nonchalant about the fact that there are fucking togruta pne's
- 24:23about to die at all points. Throughout this whole Arc.
- 24:27Those are her people. And at one point, she says, I'm
- 24:29going to go help my people. It was like the first time.
- 24:32She fucking said it, I like, she's oddly chill.
- 24:37Yeah. Well, everyone is oddly Chill by
- 24:40the end weirdly enough. I just the whole like, like a
- 24:44few of them, don't make it, a few of them fall right off the
- 24:47thing. They don't make it down the
- 24:49ropes, dude, on to the shit you were supposed to be 50,000 of
- 24:54them. Yeah, and they ended up with,
- 24:56like, what? 35 that.
- 24:58Exactly. Where did they all go?
- 25:01Are they dead? The whole fucking end of this is
- 25:06so questionable. And my biggest question is, if I
- 25:10see myself my own species, if I'm not human, right.
- 25:13I'm humanoid or an alien species hybrid thing, like, I told to
- 25:18Rutten, mmm, I'm gonna be like fiercely protective and like
- 25:22kind of overboard with like wanting to like, but those are
- 25:26my people. I want to save my people.
- 25:28We got to remember the people. Yes, she just like doesn't bring
- 25:32it up ever. Yeah, and it's weird because
- 25:35she's she is a really good Jedi. So maybe that's part of it.
- 25:40She's better at Annie and then controlling her emotions maybe
- 25:43because she keeps seeing him losing his shit over and over.
- 25:47Yeah, I mean, yeah, I said right way to act in a wrong way to act
- 25:50as a Jedi. And she has enough experience
- 25:53seeing what the wrong way is through Anakin.
- 25:57So I'll give her that. But I just was always like oh,
- 26:01That's it. They saved the 42 odd.
- 26:06Number of whatever togruta needs that were left.
- 26:11I guess we're missing a forty, nine thousand, nine hundred and
- 26:15seventy-two croutons, but there's no big deal.
- 26:18No big deal. A, why didn't they just go to
- 26:20Cabo in the first place? Who what do you mean?
- 26:25Why didn't they just take the the the cruiser, the ship go,
- 26:29underneath the facility. Oh, cuz they had to be
- 26:31transferred from Zhao jie. Re-attack, addabbo, right.
- 26:34Yeah, mmm. Okay.
- 26:36Because I was like just fucking go in also, is it only togruta?
- 26:40Is there? Why didn't they save anybody
- 26:41else? Right, that's what I was
- 26:43thinking in a facility like this, they must have had more
- 26:45and there's probably all their facilities on the planet, but
- 26:48whatever. I mean, okay, there condensing
- 26:51it into a 20 minute episode fine.
- 26:53I get it. But like, yeah.
- 26:54I've also always really been bothered by the very end, like
- 26:58the last conversation between her and the governor who
- 27:03survived. Because first of all, of all the
- 27:07people in this episode, like you just said, she didn't really
- 27:11seem to be having the most turmoil by comparison to what
- 27:15like Obi-Wan and Rex or even Anakin facing his Demons of his
- 27:19past and they end the episode with Ahsoka having this really
- 27:23Naive conversation with the governor about joining, the
- 27:25Republic is the right decision and the people will be stronger
- 27:28for having survived. This it's like, we all know that
- 27:31the Republic is about to fall apart and become the Empire.
- 27:35And Ahsoka is a child and I'm sorry, but a smart as you are a
- 27:39child, does not understand politics.
- 27:42I'm here to tell you. I true, anybody who thinks they
- 27:45get the big picture as a sixteen-year-old can fuck right
- 27:49off. Yeah, I don't even get it is Is
- 27:53it 37 year-old? We don't even understand it.
- 27:55Also correct. It's naive that a governor would
- 27:59be taking political advice from a teenager and I just felt like
- 28:03that this episode or this Arc has been so intense and so
- 28:08upsetting that it needed a different kind of closure at the
- 28:11ending. I think it should have had an
- 28:14angry closure with Anakin mmm. Or a discussion between Anakin
- 28:20and either Obi-Wan or Anakin and Ahsoka one of the two.
- 28:24Yeah, master and Apprentice one of the two.
- 28:27Yeah, look at everything. That was revealed during this.
- 28:31We are not free as our own entity here as part of the
- 28:36Republicans. I think that would have played
- 28:38more into what they're trying to what they're trying to do is to
- 28:42try to accomplish by Bridging, the Gap between attack of the
- 28:46Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Hmm.
- 28:49And it would have also if they would have highlighted ahsoka's
- 28:52anger. Maybe a little bit, just a
- 28:56little. It would have led to
- 28:59cohesiveness with her leaving the Jedi Order in the very end.
- 29:03Yeah. Yeah.
- 29:04And I know the next Arc is the deception Arc and so that drives
- 29:08a wedge between Obi-Wan and Anakin.
- 29:11Yeah. Yeah.
- 29:11Yeah. This could have played into that
- 29:15set up. Yeah, exactly.
- 29:17It's so to have it end with Ahsoka, I get it so because Dave
- 29:22filoni is favorites, of course, it's gotta be about Sokka all
- 29:24The time, I mean tote to togruta needs but it was the wrong
- 29:29discussion between two togruta pne's.
- 29:31Yeah. And like the Degroot ins were
- 29:33like a means to an end to tell this story, you know, like,
- 29:37right. It wasn't actually about them.
- 29:39It was about Anakin being faced with slavery and also having to,
- 29:46it's like, I said, it's another wedge driven between him and his
- 29:49ideology. Plus, what we just talked about
- 29:54with Rex and everything that he's experienced and facing.
- 29:57Yeah, slavery and ob1 being using his strength, against him
- 30:02as a weapon and having to face that, why didn't they have a
- 30:06round table? They should have had, like, a
- 30:08Kumbaya. We need to sit down to talk
- 30:11about this, which, I mean, that's a No-No and the Jedi
- 30:15Order, but Liam, you would think that Anakin could have just
- 30:19pulled Obi-Wan aside and been, like, okay, Now that we're out
- 30:22of that, what the fuck was that? Yeah, exactly.
- 30:25I mean, even at the Citadel at the very end where there's that
- 30:28talk between Anakin and Tarkin and then Obi-Wan says, like, we
- 30:31can't compromise our ideals. There wasn't even that that
- 30:38could have been the moment for it to have the talk of Ideal.
- 30:42Yeah. What we just went through
- 30:43fucking sucked and it was at the order of our upper higher-ups,
- 30:50you were wearing a fucking shock.
- 30:52How do you feel about all of that?
- 30:53Yeah, exactly. We carry on turn that.
- 30:56Turn that argument back on Obi-Wan and say, how are your
- 30:59ideals doing now? You know.
- 31:01Yeah. The perfect setup for the the
- 31:04wedge that is driven then yeah, the deception Arc so it's a more
- 31:08interesting in our opinion it would have been more
- 31:11interesting. Yeah.
- 31:12And like be a get why it's a kid show or whatever but like if you
- 31:16want to place it are you guys yeah.
- 31:17Like what was this whole Arc then is a kids show?
- 31:28Alright, our question for this week is, which of the kadavo
- 31:33episodes is your favorite? I know it's hard to pick, but if
- 31:37you could pick just one that you like best, which one do you?
- 31:41Which one can you not resist? Yes.
- 31:47Next week's episode was chosen by our patrons.
- 31:51We gave them a choice of which character would you like us to
- 31:55talk about for a whole episode and their choice was drum roll.
- 32:00Please Hondo ohnaka. Yeah, it is.
- 32:06High time. We do an episode about Hondo.
- 32:09Is one of my favorite characters, I can't wait.
- 32:14He has found himself from the Clone Wars all the way to Disney
- 32:20theme parks, true. You're right.
- 32:22He's the gift that keeps on giving and we are going to give
- 32:25him a whole episode next week. So join us back here.
- 32:29Thank you. Patrons, for always being
- 32:31amazing. Okay.
- 32:34P Broman one once again on Instagram sent us a great
- 32:37comment this week he answered last week's question.
- 32:40Which was, who do you think suffered the most in slaves of
- 32:45the Republic? And he said to answer the
- 32:48question. I think, Rex suffers the most
- 32:50since he saw those, he probably thought nothing could break and
- 32:54they were suffering and breaking.
- 32:56I was, I thought that was really a good point.
- 33:00That is an excellent point. Yes, these People who probably
- 33:04thought were they were, like, Invincible, but they are not and
- 33:10see that, right? And left in this Arc, That is a
- 33:14good, that's it. Yep, just yep, thank you.
