- 0:00Speaker 1: This is South Carolina's Morning News on 103.5 FM and
- 0:04Speaker 1: 560 AM, WVOC, Columbia, and 94.3 WSC, Charleston.
- 0:11Speaker 2: All right, back at it. Kelly Nash, Christopher Thompson. I
- 0:18Speaker 2: was a rare night out for me, Christopher. I have
- 0:24Speaker 2: a friend who I used to play tennis with, and
- 0:26Speaker 2: they were having a small get-together at the house last night.
- 0:29Speaker 2: And so I went there, which, again, normally I'm in
- 0:33Speaker 2: bed by like 730. So that was a late night
- 0:37Speaker 2: for me. I was up until almost 9, which is
- 0:40Speaker 2: ridiculous for me to be up until 9 o'clock.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Burning the midnight oil.
- 0:44Speaker 4: Oh, my gosh.
- 0:45Speaker 2: But I did not watch the Trump rally. I've seen
- 0:48Speaker 2: some clips of the Trump rally. It looked as if
- 0:51Speaker 2: it got a little wild at some point. There was
- 0:54Speaker 2: a guy who apparently was some sort of protester. And
- 0:58Speaker 2: then there was like somebody else punched that dude and
- 1:02Speaker 2: they were dragging him out. And Trump, I heard Trump,
- 1:04Speaker 2: you know, going on it.
- 1:05Speaker 4: You look like the real deal.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Holy field. That's what you looked like.
- 1:09Speaker 4: It was amazing.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Never seen anything like it. And then there was another
- 1:12Speaker 2: guy who was getting dragged out. And then some other
- 1:15Speaker 2: Trump supporter ran up behind him. This was like on
- 1:19Speaker 2: the outskirts of the building. The guy had already been
- 1:22Speaker 2: removed from the crowd. And this guy jumped up and
- 1:25Speaker 2: like punched him in the back of the head. And
- 1:27Speaker 2: I think he got arrested right there on camera as well.
- 1:30Speaker 5: It all seemed to happen early in the Trump speech.
- 1:32Speaker 5: I think they petered out at the end.
- 1:34Speaker 4: They got tired. Yeah. All right. So we got that today.
- 1:40Speaker 2: We got the Westinghouse billion dollar nuclear fuel expansion we
- 1:44Speaker 2: started hitting on yesterday. Was the news update just talking
- 1:47Speaker 2: about that guy, Richard Sheely? I mean, I was reading
- 1:52Speaker 2: that story this morning and I was like, this is
- 1:54Speaker 2: so upsetting. This guy is a, I guess, marketing himself
- 1:59Speaker 2: as like a, some sort of worship leader and had
- 2:04Speaker 2: been a pastor, according to his website. And he was
- 2:08Speaker 2: then accused of assaulting a young person, but it was
- 2:12Speaker 2: like a decade, or excuse me, like two decades ago,
- 2:15Speaker 2: like in 2004, 5, 6, that era. And when I
- 2:21Speaker 2: hear things like that, I often wonder, well, what's the
- 2:25Speaker 2: 20 year holdup? Like what, you know, and how are
- 2:27Speaker 2: you going to prove all that? But according to the
- 2:29Speaker 2: news outlets, when they went to his house and they
- 2:32Speaker 2: went through his computer, they found current child stuff on the,
- 2:38Speaker 2: on the computers or whatever.
- 2:40Speaker 3: So he kept records.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Oh my gosh.
- 2:43Speaker 2: We live in a very sad world that sometimes, um, And, yeah, obviously,
- 2:50Speaker 2: his life is pretty much wrapped right now. I mean,
- 2:53Speaker 2: he's going to go to trial, and he's presumed innocent. Well,
- 2:56Speaker 2: he's got to say, we're presuming that you're innocent until
- 2:58Speaker 2: proven guilty. But when the police start putting out on media,
- 3:03Speaker 2: we've got records on your computer. There's no— I can't imagine
- 3:08Speaker 2: a plausible excuse as to why you would have that.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Maybe there are some.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:13Speaker 4: I'm not a good defense attorney.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Well, the records apparently show him abusing.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 3:18Speaker 3: So it's.
- 3:19Speaker 2: So it's not even just like random photos that may
- 3:21Speaker 2: have inadvertently. I'm trying to imagine somebody trying to explain
- 3:24Speaker 2: how I inadvertently downloaded that by mistake.
- 3:28Speaker 3: This is even worse if it's true.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Oh. And then we've got SLED investigating suspicious activity on
- 3:37Speaker 2: the City of Columbia network. We've got the SC Arts
- 3:40Speaker 2: Commission continuing to fall out after the LGBTQ situation. We
- 3:45Speaker 2: have a lot going on in this state, but Christopher,
- 3:47Speaker 2: probably nothing bigger, nothing will ever top a Trump visit,
- 3:51Speaker 2: will it?
- 3:51Speaker 3: No, I don't think so.
- 3:52Speaker 5: And the question now is, was it enough to push
- 3:55Speaker 5: Darlene Graham across the finish line?
- 3:58Speaker 2: If you're up early, did you watch it? I would
- 4:03Speaker 2: love to hear somebody say, did anybody? I'm putting the
- 4:09Speaker 2: challenge out there, Christopher. I do not believe that there
- 4:12Speaker 2: is one person in this audience that before Trump started
- 4:17Speaker 2: speaking said, not going to vote for her. and then said,
- 4:21Speaker 2: you know what, even I'll take a second look at her.
- 4:24Speaker 2: I wonder if there's even that person.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Never mind. It flipped me.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I'm coming back. I'm coming home. I'm coming home to MAGA.
- 4:32Speaker 2: I'm coming home to the Republican Party. Did Trump move
- 4:36Speaker 2: anybody from that position?
- 4:39Speaker 5: I'd be curious, especially to hear from the right-in Ralph contingent,
- 4:42Speaker 5: if they were moved and thought, okay, Trump is right.
- 4:47Speaker 5: I can't allow Annie Andrews to take this seat just
- 4:50Speaker 5: to make a point. I'm going to vote for Darlene Graham.
- 4:54Speaker 5: I'll hold my nose and vote for Graham this this November.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I would I I already highly doubt that anybody got flipped.
- 5:03Speaker 2: But as far as the right in Ralph campaign, those
- 5:06Speaker 2: people are 10 toes down, as they say.
- 5:09Speaker 4: They are not budging in my estimation.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Maybe I'm wrong. I'd love to hear from you. And
- 5:14Speaker 2: maybe you're just a fan of the president and you
- 5:16Speaker 2: watched it last night. What did you think? Were you
- 5:18Speaker 2: a fan of what he said? Did you think it
- 5:20Speaker 2: was a good rally? Because there's like a couple, we
- 5:23Speaker 2: got a guy named, What's his name? Jackson Gosnell or
- 5:26Speaker 2: something like that. He's a local guy. He lives in
- 5:28Speaker 2: the upstate, but a South Carolina guy. Young guy. Looks
- 5:31Speaker 2: like he's about like 19. He's been trying to make
- 5:33Speaker 2: a name for himself in the social media space, and
- 5:36Speaker 2: he ended up getting some jobs. He's working for... I
- 5:39Speaker 2: forget what the name of the network is. It's not
- 5:41Speaker 2: a big one. It's like the real... broadcasting network or something. And, uh,
- 5:46Speaker 2: he was like there, he was their guy last night.
- 5:49Speaker 2: I saw them talking about it in the posting courier,
- 5:51Speaker 2: local homegrown talent gets big network break last night. So, um, if,
- 5:57Speaker 2: if you're one of those people who watches like that network,
- 6:00Speaker 2: and I don't even know that it's on any streaming services,
- 6:02Speaker 2: I think it just puts it all up on YouTube
- 6:04Speaker 2: or whatever.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Uh, and you've.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Watched a lot of Trump rallies. How did this one rank?
- 6:08Speaker 2: And as far as how many, have you seen 20
- 6:11Speaker 2: Trump rallies, 30? I know some people, I think, have
- 6:14Speaker 2: told me they've seen like 100. Not in person. Only
- 6:18Speaker 2: the brick suit guy has been to 100 or more,
- 6:20Speaker 2: I would imagine. But if you've been to a lot
- 6:23Speaker 2: or just seen a lot on YouTube or whatever, how
- 6:26Speaker 2: did South Carolina's rank last night?
- 6:28Speaker 4: Would love to get your feedback on that. Use the
- 6:30Speaker 4: talkback feature.
- 6:31Speaker 2: We'll get into all that other stuff we were talking
- 6:33Speaker 2: about with South Carolina News. I also got, look, I've
- 6:36Speaker 2: identified a new problem in America. You might have noticed
- 6:41Speaker 2: this as well, but we got a really extreme example
- 6:44Speaker 2: here recently. We're going to talk about that coming up.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Can we cure it? I think we can cure the
- 6:48Speaker 2: problem that I'm talking about. We'll get into that and more.
- 6:51Speaker 2: It's South Carolina's Morning News.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Live from the state capitol, this is South Carolina's Morning News.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I'm just looking at some of the new jobs numbers
- 7:02Speaker 2: for South Carolina.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Man, Christopher, we are.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Doing fantastic in South Carolina. We continue to outperform the country.
- 7:10Speaker 2: unemployment is decreasing again. Uh, new numbers got, uh, we
- 7:18Speaker 2: dropped another 2,347 people off the unemployment roll. So we're
- 7:22Speaker 2: now in the entire state of South Carolina.
- 7:24Speaker 4: There's what? 5.3 million people. Roughly. Uh, we have 106,689
- 7:28Speaker 4: that are on unemployment.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Um, And the labor force actually grew by 4,146 people
- 7:42Speaker 2: month over month. So this is a record historic high.
- 7:44Speaker 2: We've never in South Carolina's history, and it's a long history,
- 7:50Speaker 2: have ever had these many employees. We have 2,679,964 South
- 7:53Speaker 2: Carolinians at work. And officials want to note, This is
- 8:03Speaker 2: the fastest growing labor force in the country so far.
- 8:07Speaker 3: That's fantastic.
- 8:08Speaker 5: And that's why we have to continue to be a
- 8:10Speaker 5: business friendly state. And I'm not talking about giving these
- 8:13Speaker 5: massive tax breaks and incentive packages that we seem to
- 8:17Speaker 5: have relied on for years, but business friendly as far
- 8:20Speaker 5: as our tax approach, as far as our standard of living,
- 8:23Speaker 5: et cetera, because, you know, we've got all these people
- 8:25Speaker 5: moving here. We've got to have jobs for them when
- 8:27Speaker 5: they get here.
- 8:28Speaker 2: You know, it's, it's, I'm wondering if I'm, The Democrats,
- 8:35Speaker 2: I'm hearing their ads across South Carolina.
- 8:38Speaker 4: What's his name running for governor?
- 8:39Speaker 2: And, you know, it's like we need a change after
- 8:42Speaker 2: years of Republican rule. Don't South Carolinians deserve better? And
- 8:47Speaker 2: it's like, gosh, this these numbers must just kick them
- 8:50Speaker 2: in the in the privates because we're already getting better.
- 8:52Speaker 2: We're getting better year by year. And again, if you're
- 8:57Speaker 2: you and I and people who listen to these types
- 8:59Speaker 2: of shows, we understand. that conservative policies are what establish this.
- 9:06Speaker 2: When you listen to the left and they talk about, like,
- 9:11Speaker 2: I was listening to some interview with a complete buffoon yesterday,
- 9:15Speaker 2: and she describes herself as, I think she used the phrase,
- 9:19Speaker 2: Prada bag socialist. And she said that, you know, you
- 9:23Speaker 2: keep hearing from the right wing that socialism is just
- 9:26Speaker 2: going to drag everybody to the lowest common denominator, when
- 9:29Speaker 2: in reality, We believe that in America, the richest nation
- 9:34Speaker 2: on earth, that everybody, if we would just tax the
- 9:37Speaker 2: rich some more, everybody could have a Prada bag. Everybody
- 9:42Speaker 2: can drive nice cars. Everybody can live in good houses.
- 9:46Speaker 2: And that's, you're in some sort of bizarre fantasy world
- 9:49Speaker 2: that where on earth in the history of earth has
- 9:52Speaker 2: that ever happened? It's never happened because it's impossible to
- 9:57Speaker 2: make happen. There's always going to be people who are creators.
- 10:01Speaker 2: There's going to be people who push the limits. There's
- 10:04Speaker 2: going to be bad people. Yes, there's people who abuse
- 10:06Speaker 2: the system. There's people who are.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Going to rob. Human nature is going to human.
- 10:13Speaker 2: And what capitalism does is it forces some of our
- 10:17Speaker 2: bad instincts into And you can use it for a
- 10:20Speaker 2: force for good and drag some people's quality of life
- 10:23Speaker 2: up the quality of life in America. Look at how
- 10:26Speaker 2: many Americans have moved abroad. Even the rich people like
- 10:30Speaker 2: Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O'Donnell. I hate Trump and I
- 10:34Speaker 2: hate the fascist policies. Well, welcome home because they came
- 10:37Speaker 2: right back. They spent a little time in Ireland. I
- 10:41Speaker 2: forget where Rosie went. I think she went to the,
- 10:42Speaker 2: or excuse me, where Ellen went, I think it was
- 10:44Speaker 2: the UK and they couldn't wait to get back to America.
- 10:47Speaker 2: And you see this happening over and over and over
- 10:50Speaker 2: again where people go to Europe and they're like, well,
- 10:52Speaker 2: that's where it's going to be accepting and loving. I
- 10:54Speaker 2: was reading a blog post the other day from some lady.
- 10:57Speaker 2: She lived in, I think, Alabama and her husband got
- 11:00Speaker 2: a job offer during COVID. And it was going to
- 11:03Speaker 2: be somewhere, you know, just outside of London. And she
- 11:06Speaker 2: was so excited when she started reading about quick train
- 11:09Speaker 2: ride to one of the largest cities in the world
- 11:11Speaker 2: and blah, blah, blah. And she was like, I couldn't
- 11:12Speaker 2: believe how openly they mocked me. that the Europeans mock
- 11:18Speaker 2: the American accent, including people like her boss. So she'd
- 11:22Speaker 2: be at the office and they're like, you sound stupid.
- 11:27Speaker 2: And that's not a fireable offense in England to just
- 11:30Speaker 2: tell your employees, you talk funny, you sound stupid.
- 11:33Speaker 4: Imagine that here in America.
- 11:35Speaker 3: We're much more accepting as a culture.
- 11:38Speaker 4: We have it so good here.
- 11:39Speaker 2: We do. And South Carolina is doing fantastic. Congratulations to
- 11:43Speaker 2: everybody who helped put these jobs numbers reports together.
- 11:46Speaker 4: I love living in South Carolina. I hope you do too.
- 11:48Speaker 2: If you're celebrating like Christopher and I, let us know
- 11:50Speaker 2: about it on the Talk Back feature. We'll be right
- 11:52Speaker 2: back on South Carolina's Morning News.
- 11:54Speaker 6: This is South Carolina's Morning News.
- 11:57Speaker 2: I just heard that Fox update on polling. And a
- 12:00Speaker 2: little bit later on, I think we're going to go
- 12:02Speaker 2: into some polls because there's some crazy news in the
- 12:06Speaker 2: polling world that we have to kind of address. I mean,
- 12:09Speaker 2: it's The big elephant in the room, and if you
- 12:12Speaker 2: haven't heard that story, I put it up on my
- 12:14Speaker 2: social media page yesterday, but we will get into some
- 12:17Speaker 2: of the shocking polling news, the revelations. But here in
- 12:21Speaker 2: South Carolina, one of the big stories, obviously, is the
- 12:24Speaker 2: very tight race between Darlene Graham and Annie Andrews. uh, yesterday,
- 12:30Speaker 2: Donald Trump came to town or at least came to
- 12:32Speaker 2: the state and gave a big rally trying to help
- 12:35Speaker 2: Darlene Graham. We were looking this morning, Christopher, for anybody
- 12:38Speaker 2: who went into last night thinking I'm going to either
- 12:42Speaker 2: sit the race out, um, or I'm, you know, maybe
- 12:45Speaker 2: I'll just vote for, uh, a bunch of things, but
- 12:48Speaker 2: I'm not going to vote in the Senate race, or
- 12:50Speaker 2: perhaps I'd vote for somebody else. And now last night,
- 12:54Speaker 2: Donald Trump flipped them. You brought up the right in
- 12:56Speaker 2: Ralph people. And, uh, Am I to believe that we
- 13:00Speaker 2: have a write-in Ralph person?
- 13:02Speaker 3: No, we have someone who's against the write-in Ralph movement.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Oh, so we're able to get one of those guys.
- 13:07Speaker 7: Okay.
- 13:07Speaker 4: What'd they say?
- 13:08Speaker 8: The write-in Ralph campaign is just ignorant. No one is
- 13:15Speaker 8: going to receive any type of message from your voting
- 13:20Speaker 8: with a write-in. You are just assisting Annie Andrews to
- 13:24Speaker 8: be elected. And six years from now, No one's going
- 13:28Speaker 8: to remember anything about this election other than Annie Andrews won.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I appreciate the talk back. She's probably right in the
- 13:38Speaker 2: sense that our lessons learned. Let me ask a question
- 13:41Speaker 2: for the Democrats. If you're a Democrat listening, thank you.
- 13:45Speaker 2: I hope that your blood pressure is not rising too high.
- 13:48Speaker 2: But was there any lessons learned? in 2016 about the
- 13:52Speaker 2: loss from Hillary Clinton. Did you guys learn something? Was
- 13:55Speaker 2: there a valuable lesson that you took away from that?
- 13:58Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 13:59Speaker 2: I can speculate as to what the lesson was, but
- 14:06Speaker 2: what do you think the lesson was? And are you
- 14:08Speaker 2: learning lessons now? Like, did you learn anything from your
- 14:11Speaker 2: original main candidate? Are you learning something in Michigan? Are
- 14:14Speaker 2: you learning something in Minnesota? Are you learning something in Texas?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Because that is literally a gimme state for you now.
- 14:22Speaker 2: The Ken Paxton debacle should have just, you should win
- 14:25Speaker 2: Texas by seven points, but you're not. I mean, you
- 14:29Speaker 2: might win, but you're not going to win by seven points.
- 14:31Speaker 2: It's going to be a very tight race the whole
- 14:32Speaker 2: way through because you keep nominating losers. Ah, Are the
- 14:39Speaker 2: lessons ever learned? I don't know. But thank you for
- 14:41Speaker 2: the talk back. So Christopher and I do appreciate that.
- 14:43Speaker 2: We'll take a break for the news and be back
- 14:45Speaker 2: with more in just a moment.
- 14:46Speaker 6: You're listening to South Carolina's Morning News.
- 14:50Speaker 7: She called for a ban on all oil drilling as
- 14:53Speaker 7: opposed to drill, baby, drill.
- 14:55Speaker 4: I would say that's the opposite.
- 14:57Speaker 7: She will vote to open your borders, shut down your
- 14:59Speaker 7: power plants, set loose dangerous criminals, confiscate your money, and
- 15:04Speaker 7: give your hard-earned savings to millions of Third world migrants, fraudsters,
- 15:09Speaker 7: and thugs.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Well, Donald Trump in South Carolina last night making the case,
- 15:15Speaker 2: you cannot help Annie Andrews win.
- 15:19Speaker 4: Did he win anybody over? I don't know.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I tend to think not. I think that people, even
- 15:25Speaker 2: though the president is an amazing campaigner, I don't know that...
- 15:31Speaker 2: The people who are on the fence are actually swayable
- 15:34Speaker 2: at this point.
- 15:34Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 15:35Speaker 2: But maybe I'd love to hear from somebody. If you
- 15:38Speaker 2: were swayed, you were in one position, and then you
- 15:42Speaker 2: moved to the I'm voting for Darlene camp. I'm looking
- 15:46Speaker 2: at this story about California. It's unbelievable how bad things
- 15:50Speaker 2: are getting out there. So Mark Zuckerberg cut a special
- 15:54Speaker 2: deal with Meta yesterday, I guess. And under this agreement,
- 15:59Speaker 2: Zuckerberg is going to be allowed... First off, he's going
- 16:02Speaker 2: to receive a bunch of non-voting shares. So usually in
- 16:07Speaker 2: a company, if you own the shares, you are able
- 16:10Speaker 2: to vote at the board meetings and those types of things.
- 16:14Speaker 2: They're going to start giving him non-voting shares. So they're valuable.
- 16:20Speaker 2: But if somebody was to buy them from Zuckerberg, they
- 16:23Speaker 2: would not then be allowed to vote.
- 16:27Speaker 4: And so.
- 16:28Speaker 2: This is all in response to California's Proposition 40 because
- 16:33Speaker 2: he announced to the board, I have to leave. I
- 16:35Speaker 2: can't stay in California because if that thing passes, they're
- 16:39Speaker 2: going to sock me for literally billions of dollars. So
- 16:44Speaker 2: they said, well, what if we created a new share
- 16:48Speaker 2: where they have no control over the company?
- 16:51Speaker 4: It's just they get money from it. And he said, okay,
- 16:55Speaker 4: I'll do that.
- 16:56Speaker 2: So Zuckerberg could sell 20% of Class C shares that
- 16:59Speaker 2: he receives. That's 10% of his economic stake in the company.
- 17:05Speaker 2: And that would allow him to pay for the tax
- 17:08Speaker 2: that he would be hit with if they passed this vote. Otherwise,
- 17:12Speaker 2: he was leaving California. It's nice to be in charge,
- 17:15Speaker 2: isn't it? Well.
- 17:16Speaker 3: You're making your own rules.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Well, the board is the one who passed that for him.
- 17:21Speaker 4: All right.
- 17:22Speaker 9: And.
- 17:22Speaker 2: But think about the extreme measures that people... And everybody
- 17:27Speaker 2: always says, well, a billionaire, he's not going to miss it. Yeah,
- 17:32Speaker 2: he is. But guess what? People miss money. And when
- 17:35Speaker 2: you say a billionaire, I don't think any of them
- 17:39Speaker 2: are billion dollar... Well, maybe some of them are. Billion
- 17:42Speaker 2: dollars liquid, meaning I have a billion dollar savings account.
- 17:48Speaker 2: That is not the case. He's a billionaire because he owns... Facebook,
- 17:53Speaker 2: or he owns a large swath of it. But to
- 17:56Speaker 2: get the money out of it, he would have to
- 17:59Speaker 2: sell enough shares where some group, say a radical investment
- 18:06Speaker 2: group was put together, they could then buy out Mark
- 18:10Speaker 2: Zuckerberg shares and then take control of the company and
- 18:13Speaker 2: shut it off. They could do whatever they wanted with
- 18:16Speaker 2: it if they were able to get the control. This
- 18:19Speaker 2: is one of the worst ideas ever, a wealth tax.
- 18:22Speaker 2: We're taxing you on things that you own that it's
- 18:28Speaker 2: not money. We're taxing you on non-money. It's like I'm
- 18:32Speaker 2: holding my cell phone right now. This cell phone is
- 18:33Speaker 2: worth about $ 1, 000 is what I paid for it, I'm guessing, right?
- 18:37Speaker 2: I don't even know what you pay for a cell
- 18:38Speaker 2: phone these days. But whatever it was, I bought this
- 18:41Speaker 2: about a year ago for.
- 18:44Speaker 4: About $ 1, 000.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Now, if you want it, I paid a sales tax
- 18:47Speaker 2: when I bought it. But right now, if you were
- 18:50Speaker 2: to value my property and say, well, that phone is
- 18:53Speaker 2: worth $ 1, 000 and your car is worth $ 50, 000 and your
- 18:58Speaker 2: home is worth $ 400, 000 and you own something else, we
- 18:59Speaker 2: can get my net worth up to a million dollars
- 19:01Speaker 2: and then say, now you owe us 10% of that.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I'd have to come off $ 100, 000. My bank account does
- 19:06Speaker 2: not have $ 100, 000 in it.
- 19:15Speaker 4: I wish it did.
- 19:17Speaker 2: But if the state or whomever the entity was said
- 19:21Speaker 2: they needed $ 100, 000, otherwise I'm going to prison, I would
- 19:25Speaker 2: have to sell the things that I own in order
- 19:28Speaker 2: to cover your tax. And the things that you're selling
- 19:31Speaker 2: are shares of a company. You're actually giving up control
- 19:35Speaker 2: of the company, which I hate to say. I think
- 19:37Speaker 2: that's actually the long-term goal of the Democrats. They want
- 19:40Speaker 2: to take over control of the companies. That's what socialism is.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Socialists don't want individuals or even groups owning manufacturing. They
- 19:50Speaker 2: want to be in control. The government should control how
- 19:53Speaker 2: we produce things. And I don't know if that's breaking
- 19:55Speaker 2: news to anybody, but if it is... Give us credit
- 19:59Speaker 2: on South Carolina's Morning News for educating you on how
- 20:01Speaker 2: socialism works. We'll take a break and be back with
- 20:03Speaker 2: more in just a moment.
- 20:04Speaker 1: This is South Carolina's Morning News on 103.5 FM, 560
- 20:10Speaker 1: AM WVOC and 94.3 WSC.
- 20:15Speaker 10: I have to agree with the other caller about the write-in,
- 20:19Speaker 10: Ralph Norman. What is that purpose serving? I don't quite understand.
- 20:27Speaker 10: You are helping another candidate win and the Republican candidate
- 20:34Speaker 10: losing just by being spiteful, right? Am I right with that?
- 20:40Speaker 2: Good morning, Chris and Charleston.
- 20:42Speaker 11: I don't mean to be overly cynical about some of
- 20:45Speaker 11: these political activities, but the write-in for Ralph, I think,
- 20:52Speaker 11: was organic. and people were angry and frustrated. But I
- 20:56Speaker 11: think the real organic movement burns itself out. And what
- 21:00Speaker 11: we see on Facebook or other social media outlets or
- 21:03Speaker 11: what's continuing is not organic, is organized by other people.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Chris was from Charleston?
- 21:10Speaker 2: Yes. All right. Great to hear from you, Chris. I
- 21:12Speaker 2: wish I knew the young lady's name. I liked her voice,
- 21:16Speaker 2: the way she put it. Am I crazy? You're helping
- 21:20Speaker 2: the other people. By the way, this morning I woke
- 21:23Speaker 2: to an email from, I don't know.
- 21:27Speaker 4: A friend of the show? Is that the right term?
- 21:29Speaker 4: Is it Eric? It starts with an A. A-R-I-K? Oh, yes.
- 21:33Speaker 9: Eric.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Yes.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Who was correcting me.
- 21:36Speaker 2: The ad campaign that we were talking about, was it
- 21:39Speaker 2: yesterday and maybe even the day previous, regarding Casey Whitener,
- 21:43Speaker 2: the AI-generated ad that was coming from a pack, the
- 21:48Speaker 2: guy behind that pack, I misinterpreted him. He was basically
- 21:54Speaker 2: a right in Ralph guy. He is someone who I
- 21:59Speaker 2: have the email in front of me. He was basically
- 22:01Speaker 2: saying he is not a left winger. He is a
- 22:03Speaker 2: right winger who is trying to course correct the Republican
- 22:06Speaker 2: Party by. And again, for those of you not familiar
- 22:09Speaker 2: with this, we were talking about it the other day.
- 22:11Speaker 2: He puts out AI ads, which doesn't cost anything. And
- 22:14Speaker 2: when we say puts them out, doesn't put them on television.
- 22:16Speaker 2: He's not like buying ads on TV. I don't believe
- 22:19Speaker 2: I think he's trying to get them to go viral
- 22:22Speaker 2: on TV. social media pages and maybe spending some money
- 22:26Speaker 2: on like what they would call like a pre-roll or
- 22:28Speaker 2: something like that on YouTube. Um, but the Casey Whitener
- 22:33Speaker 2: one is one, he's doing it in like eight different
- 22:35Speaker 2: States and he's targeting Republicans that he doesn't like, like
- 22:39Speaker 2: Darlene Graham. And he's using the libertarian as a way
- 22:43Speaker 2: of swaying.
- 22:44Speaker 4: Votes over there.
- 22:45Speaker 2: He says, we're going to just move the margin or
- 22:47Speaker 2: something to that extent. And if we can get enough people,
- 22:50Speaker 2: then the Democrat wins. And I misinterpreted that as thinking
- 22:55Speaker 2: that he was trying to get the Democrats to win
- 22:58Speaker 2: because he's a Democrat. But no, upon further examination, what
- 23:03Speaker 2: he's saying is I want the Republican Party to do better. Again,
- 23:07Speaker 2: another man out to teach us lessons by turning us
- 23:10Speaker 2: over to socialists.
- 23:12Speaker 12: So.
- 23:13Speaker 4: If you're up for the lessons, he's ready to teach.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Yeah, we had Jan weigh in on Facebook yesterday after
- 23:17Speaker 5: we went off the air and simply said, you guys
- 23:20Speaker 5: realize this right in Ralph campaign, this was started by Democrats.
- 23:25Speaker 3: I don't know about that. I think I agree with
- 23:27Speaker 3: Chris from Charleston.
- 23:28Speaker 5: It was organic to start with, but Democrats have certainly
- 23:31Speaker 5: chimed in and jumped on it since.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Oh, they're definitely making some hay with it.
- 23:36Speaker 2: There is some hay to be made, and you do
- 23:38Speaker 2: have a bunch of disgruntled Republicans Republicans. And if you
- 23:42Speaker 2: missed the interview that we had yesterday with Ralph Norman,
- 23:45Speaker 2: that's up on the National Briefing Podcast. And you spell
- 23:48Speaker 2: that like my name, N-A-S-H-I-O-N-A-L, the National Briefing Podcast. And
- 23:52Speaker 2: It got a lot of people commenting on it yesterday.
- 23:55Speaker 3: It made national news.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Did it now?
- 23:57Speaker 3: Sorry, N-A-T-I-O-N-A-L. It made national news.
- 24:01Speaker 2: That interview went national?
- 24:03Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 24:03Speaker 4: I hadn't seen that.
- 24:04Speaker 2: But I know Nick Reynolds commented on it over at
- 24:07Speaker 2: the Post and Courier. I saw my friend Will Folks
- 24:10Speaker 2: from Fitz News commenting on it. There were a bunch
- 24:14Speaker 2: of people locally, and apparently nationally, that's interesting, chiming in
- 24:19Speaker 2: on that interview. And I... I could hear the pain
- 24:23Speaker 2: in Ralph's voice. And what he was saying was he,
- 24:26Speaker 2: the basic way he looks at it is he, he
- 24:30Speaker 2: was lied about and misrepresented by Donald Trump and, and
- 24:34Speaker 2: the Republican party didn't do anything to defend him. And
- 24:37Speaker 2: they kind of, in his estimation helped push Darlene across
- 24:41Speaker 2: the finish line. That's the way he interprets it. I,
- 24:44Speaker 2: as somebody who watches politics, again, I'm not involved. I
- 24:48Speaker 2: understand that that, is a game in politics. It's a
- 24:51Speaker 2: blood sport because it's ugly and people are going to
- 24:54Speaker 2: lie about you. And you can look at the Vivek
- 24:55Speaker 2: Ramaswamy ad against the Amy Acton out in Ohio. That
- 24:59Speaker 2: is brutal. You got her mother on there saying she's
- 25:02Speaker 2: a liar. She can't even run her own life. She's
- 25:05Speaker 2: certainly not going to improve your life. She's a lifelong liar.
- 25:08Speaker 2: And then you got people going after Vivek Ramaswamy and
- 25:10Speaker 2: his children. I mean, the ad campaigns that we have
- 25:14Speaker 2: are brutal, but it's nothing new. It's been going on
- 25:16Speaker 2: for literally hundreds of years. because it's such an important
- 25:20Speaker 2: thing to win power, according to a lot of people.
- 25:23Speaker 2: So they'll do pretty much anything to get it. And
- 25:25Speaker 2: I wish that Ralph would come along and say, I
- 25:28Speaker 2: want to make sure that Annie Andrews doesn't win. He
- 25:30Speaker 2: wasn't willing to say that. He said he's going to
- 25:32Speaker 2: support Darlene by voting for her, but that's as far
- 25:34Speaker 2: as his support will go. Kelly Nash, Christopher Thompson, Donald J.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Trump, all together.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Christopher, you were compiling a bunch of audio from last
- 25:57Speaker 2: night's appearance in South Carolina from the president. Anything stick
- 26:02Speaker 2: out to you from that?
- 26:05Speaker 5: Let's give you what he said about Annie Andrews and guns.
- 26:10Speaker 2: She wants to abandon.
- 26:12Speaker 7: I mean, to me, here's because you rarely say this.
- 26:14Speaker 7: I've seen it with a couple of Democrats that are running.
- 26:18Speaker 7: She's got an F rating from the NRA. That means
- 26:21Speaker 7: she wants to take your guns away.
- 26:23Speaker 2: An F rating.
- 26:26Speaker 4: It's an F rating. It's horrible. She wants to take
- 26:29Speaker 4: your guns.
- 26:31Speaker 2: The polling in this race is what obviously drove Donald
- 26:35Speaker 2: Trump into South Carolina.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Darlene Graham has.
- 26:40Speaker 2: depending on which poll you're looking at, anywhere from a
- 26:44Speaker 2: dead heat to like a slight three-point lead, maybe something
- 26:47Speaker 2: like that. There was a revelation made that a lot
- 26:54Speaker 2: of stuff is put into polls. Trump has always yelled
- 26:58Speaker 2: about there's a lot of fake polls out there. There's
- 27:01Speaker 2: none more fake than the one that broke yesterday, for
- 27:04Speaker 2: the most part. It's a company called Wedgwood Polling, and
- 27:07Speaker 2: Wedgwood Polling is a group that apparently.
- 27:10Speaker 4: Launched themselves in June of 2026.
- 27:12Speaker 2: They ended up with polls on MSNOW, Newsweek, Decision Desk, Mediate,
- 27:20Speaker 2: a lot of people, the New York Times, Nate Silver,
- 27:26Speaker 2: big name in polling, big, big name, 51 plus one,
- 27:29Speaker 2: that is Nate Silver's website. There's so many groups and
- 27:34Speaker 2: organizations and news outlets that reported some of the polling
- 27:38Speaker 2: that that Wedgwood was putting out. The problem is Wedgwood
- 27:43Speaker 2: is not a polling company. They were an experiment, according
- 27:47Speaker 2: to them. We had a, quote, we wanted to test
- 27:50Speaker 2: a simple hypothesis. How easy is it for an entirely
- 27:54Speaker 2: fabricated polling firm to actually gain traction, be taken seriously,
- 27:59Speaker 2: and expose how little scrutinization exists in the media and
- 28:03Speaker 2: public commentary? Wedgwood posted on their ex-account, The short answer
- 28:08Speaker 2: is far too easy. And this has real results. I mean,
- 28:14Speaker 2: not only were they getting quoted in a bunch of
- 28:17Speaker 2: outlets like the New York times, but if you go
- 28:20Speaker 2: to one Michigan candidate, she says that they are the
- 28:25Speaker 2: reason that she got out of the race. Uh, Mallory McMorrow,
- 28:30Speaker 2: Democrat state Senator who is running to be the Democrat nominee, um,
- 28:36Speaker 2: dropped out of the race after several bad Wedgwood polls
- 28:41Speaker 2: in June showed her plummeting. She was moving in the
- 28:44Speaker 2: wrong direction. And those were the only polls that were
- 28:46Speaker 2: coming up at that time. As you know, early in races,
- 28:49Speaker 2: it might be a month or two before you actually
- 28:53Speaker 2: get something as from a new poll in a primary. Well,
- 28:58Speaker 2: they got three polls before anybody else had any other
- 29:02Speaker 2: polls and she free fell. And all of a sudden,
- 29:05Speaker 2: according to her, Our donors didn't want to donate. The
- 29:10Speaker 2: funding evaporated. So as she says, sure, a point was proven.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Polling is broken. But tens of thousands of people who
- 29:20Speaker 2: poured their hearts, time, and energy, hard-earned money into something
- 29:23Speaker 2: they believed in for a year and a half previously,
- 29:27Speaker 2: this was treated like a game. And they were showing
- 29:31Speaker 2: that El-Sayed was running away with it at that point.
- 29:34Speaker 4: And that's why she got out. She couldn't get any
- 29:37Speaker 4: more money.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Is polling broken or is the report? on polling broken?
- 29:41Speaker 4: Well, that's what the FCC is now saying.
- 29:43Speaker 2: So Brendan Carr came out and FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez
- 29:49Speaker 2: said some things about this. But the idea that if
- 29:53Speaker 2: you are reporting on polls... But you don't fact check
- 29:58Speaker 2: the polls. And Wedgwood is saying now some people are
- 30:01Speaker 2: pushing back and saying, look, Wedgwood just got caught. They
- 30:04Speaker 2: were some people's estimation of who Wedgwood is, is because
- 30:08Speaker 2: they are.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Former pollsters, I guess.
- 30:11Speaker 2: And it's not unheard of for pollsters to leave one
- 30:15Speaker 2: firm and try to launch their own. And they got
- 30:17Speaker 2: to self fund a couple of polls to try to
- 30:18Speaker 2: get some traction before they can start getting other people
- 30:21Speaker 2: to start paying for it. And that's what they're alleged
- 30:25Speaker 2: to have done. Again, their defense is, no, we were
- 30:29Speaker 2: just trying to show to you that nobody actually checks
- 30:32Speaker 2: the methodology. We say what we say, and then you
- 30:36Speaker 2: just believe it. And maybe it's a little bit of both.
- 30:40Speaker 2: I don't know, but we do know that they were
- 30:42Speaker 2: in the New York Times and we do know that
- 30:44Speaker 2: they were factored in real clear politics. And we do
- 30:46Speaker 2: know that now all of these organizations are going back
- 30:50Speaker 2: and redacting and trying to correct their polls and remove
- 30:54Speaker 2: that data from their polls. Like if you just say
- 30:57Speaker 2: we looked at the last five polls and it shows this. Well,
- 31:01Speaker 2: what happens if you remove Wedgwood? Does it change? Is
- 31:04Speaker 2: it is the story different? I think a bigger narrative,
- 31:09Speaker 2: you know, we'll take a break. And when we come back,
- 31:12Speaker 2: maybe we'll hear from some of the pollsters because we
- 31:14Speaker 2: do have some pollsters that listen to the show and
- 31:16Speaker 2: we appreciate their efforts. And we think that the pollsters
- 31:19Speaker 2: that live around here do a really good job.
- 31:23Speaker 4: But it's not perfect.
- 31:24Speaker 2: But also, not only is it not perfect because there
- 31:27Speaker 2: is no such thing as perfect. Except for Christopher Thompson's
- 31:30Speaker 2: sports reports.
- 31:33Speaker 4: But the idea of, do you know how to read
- 31:36Speaker 4: a poll?
- 31:37Speaker 2: I'm willing to bet 90% of this audience doesn't know
- 31:41Speaker 2: how to read a poll. And it's kind of like,
- 31:45Speaker 2: I didn't know how to read a weather forecast until recently.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Perhaps you, maybe you discovered, like I did about a
- 31:52Speaker 2: year or two ago, I didn't understand weather.
- 31:55Speaker 4: And what they were actually telling me in the forecast.
- 31:57Speaker 4: We'll talk about that.
- 31:59Speaker 2: And maybe if you have some thoughts on whether what,
- 32:01Speaker 2: how Trump performed last night, does it move the needle?
- 32:04Speaker 2: What kind of polls are you looking at? All of
- 32:06Speaker 2: those types of things. Just use the talk back feature.
- 32:08Speaker 2: That's the best way to get ahold of us. Although
- 32:10Speaker 2: I do read my emails. If you want to reach
- 32:12Speaker 2: out to me there or get on me on social media,
- 32:14Speaker 2: that's also an easy way at Kelly Nash radio, which
- 32:16Speaker 2: by the way, we're live streaming the show now on
- 32:19Speaker 2: three platforms, Facebook X and YouTube. So if you want
- 32:23Speaker 2: to watch us there, you can do it there as well.
- 32:25Speaker 2: All right, we'll take a break and be back with
- 32:26Speaker 2: more on South Carolina's Morning News.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Live from the state capitol, this is South Carolina's Morning News.
- 32:33Speaker 2: With Kelly Nash and Christopher Thompson and the polling, we
- 32:38Speaker 2: were just talking about the fake polling company that got
- 32:41Speaker 2: launched in June and threw everything into chaos, getting coverage
- 32:46Speaker 2: in the New York Times and all kinds of other
- 32:49Speaker 2: media outlets. MSNOW is quoting them and Turns out that
- 32:52Speaker 2: they're not even real. They don't have any pollsters. They're
- 32:55Speaker 2: not actually polling. They're just throwing numbers out to see
- 32:59Speaker 2: if anybody would publish it. And turns out most most
- 33:02Speaker 2: outlets did. But that doesn't even I mean, obviously, when
- 33:07Speaker 2: you say crap in crap out, that's that's not even crap. Well,
- 33:11Speaker 2: I guess that's crap out there. But they just pulled
- 33:13Speaker 2: out numbers out their butt and threw it on television.
- 33:16Speaker 2: So that's what they were doing at, again, they're saying
- 33:19Speaker 2: it was a grand experiment. Maybe it was.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Maybe they just got caught trying to make a quick buck.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Who knows?
- 33:26Speaker 2: But when you're reading a poll, this is, when I
- 33:29Speaker 2: say I don't think most people understand how to read
- 33:31Speaker 2: a poll, what I mean by that is when we
- 33:32Speaker 2: talk about margin of error. So margin of error typically
- 33:36Speaker 2: would be around 4% in a poll. That's, again, I've
- 33:39Speaker 2: seen some at two and a half, whatever. But what
- 33:41Speaker 2: does that mean? So it means that if a candidate
- 33:45Speaker 2: is polling at, say, 40, maybe you're in a 52-48 race,
- 33:51Speaker 2: and we'll say it's within the margin of error. We
- 33:54Speaker 2: tend in our brains to think it could be actually
- 33:56Speaker 2: 50-50 right now. It could be a dead heat. But
- 33:59Speaker 2: we very rarely recognize the fact that 4% margin of
- 34:03Speaker 2: error can go in either direction. So the 52 could
- 34:07Speaker 2: actually be a 56 margin. And the 48 could in
- 34:12Speaker 2: fact be a 44. So if it was the final
- 34:15Speaker 2: race came out 40, or excuse me, 58 to 44,
- 34:20Speaker 2: the poll was accurate.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Within the margin of error.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Within the margin of error.
- 34:26Speaker 2: That is one of those things where it's like, wait, what?
- 34:29Speaker 2: And that's why we look at a broad spectrum of
- 34:31Speaker 2: polling and we try to see if we can detect,
- 34:36Speaker 2: is there a, theme here?
- 34:39Speaker 4: Is there something going on here?
- 34:40Speaker 2: Because one snapshot of voters, you take a poll of
- 34:45Speaker 2: 500 or 600 people, that's not going to actually give
- 34:50Speaker 2: you what's really happening because we have margins of error.
- 34:53Speaker 2: And so again, to the other side, if it's a
- 34:55Speaker 2: 52-48 race, you're not saying, The 48 guys winning, but he,
- 35:04Speaker 2: in fact, or Gal, could have 52. It could be
- 35:07Speaker 2: 52-48 the other way, and that would be correct within
- 35:12Speaker 2: the margin of error. So most people don't look at
- 35:16Speaker 2: polls that way. They just look at, oh, okay, so-and-so's
- 35:19Speaker 2: up by three.
- 35:19Speaker 4: They're winning.
- 35:21Speaker 2: No. When you look across America right now and you
- 35:24Speaker 2: look at all these polls that say Democrats are winning,
- 35:28Speaker 2: they're all within the margin of error. They're actually most
- 35:31Speaker 2: of them are within like a point or two, although
- 35:34Speaker 2: the trend shows the Democrats are in the lead. They
- 35:38Speaker 2: may be actually getting their butts spanked across America right now.
- 35:41Speaker 4: We don't know.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Because polling is inaccurate. Then you throw in the fact
- 35:45Speaker 2: that you got fake polls could legitimately fake. Nobody works there.
- 35:49Speaker 2: We're not calling any voters. We're just making up numbers
- 35:52Speaker 2: and putting them out there to see if anybody will
- 35:54Speaker 2: publish it. And then that gets put in the aggregate.
- 35:57Speaker 2: that's part of the real clear polling trends that really
- 36:02Speaker 2: throws things for a loop.
- 36:05Speaker 4: So it's a dangerous game to look at polls. It's
- 36:07Speaker 4: a very dangerous game.
- 36:09Speaker 2: And at least now you have hopefully a little bit
- 36:11Speaker 2: better understanding of when you're looking at a poll, how, how,
- 36:16Speaker 2: and then when you start thinking about subgroups, like subgroups,
- 36:19Speaker 2: likely women voters between the ages of 25 to 54.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Those things usually have margins of error, like 10, like
- 36:26Speaker 2: they're way off oftentimes. And then again, you also have
- 36:31Speaker 2: poorly worded questions. We were talking about that with some
- 36:34Speaker 2: of the pollsters about the Jermaine Johnson race here for governor.
- 36:38Speaker 2: And he had a poll that showed he was like
- 36:40Speaker 2: within one point of Alan Wilson or something, but we
- 36:43Speaker 2: didn't under, you didn't know that those were just like,
- 36:47Speaker 2: if I told you, that candidate A wanted to help
- 36:51Speaker 2: people and get better jobs, lower taxes, or whatever the
- 36:57Speaker 2: crap that he was saying. If I told you candidate
- 37:00Speaker 2: A was for that, and then just take Alan Wilson
- 37:02Speaker 2: and just take some crazy position and said, and candidate
- 37:06Speaker 2: B was this. how likely are you to vote for
- 37:12Speaker 2: candidate A? And even with that, he was still losing.
- 37:14Speaker 2: He couldn't come up with the wording to try to
- 37:17Speaker 2: get candidate A to win. But it's just a game
- 37:22Speaker 2: at this point. It seems to be just a game.
- 37:25Speaker 2: And unfortunately for that, like the Democrat out in Michigan,
- 37:30Speaker 2: she lost all her funding based off of bad polling.
- 37:34Speaker 2: And I know a lot of us either believe the
- 37:37Speaker 2: polls and say, oh, Darlene Graham is probably not going
- 37:41Speaker 2: to win or if she wins, it's not going to,
- 37:43Speaker 2: I wouldn't be surprised if Darlene Graham wins by 10.
- 37:45Speaker 2: I wouldn't be surprised at all. And I wouldn't be
- 37:47Speaker 2: surprised if Annie Andrews wins either, but the polling is
- 37:51Speaker 2: not that accurate to the point where you're like, Oh,
- 37:53Speaker 2: she's up a 10th of a point.
- 37:54Speaker 4: She's down a 10th of a point. That's not how
- 37:57Speaker 4: this works.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Um, so, you know, again, Donald Trump came to town
- 38:02Speaker 2: to try to move the polls yet. Donald Trump recognizes
- 38:06Speaker 2: most of the polls seem to be fake news according
- 38:08Speaker 2: to him.
- 38:09Speaker 4: Although, except when he's up. He's up in the polls.
- 38:12Speaker 4: Love the polls.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Oh, my God, I'm winning in everything. There's never been
- 38:15Speaker 2: anything like it. But anyway, are you affected by the polls?
- 38:19Speaker 2: Did you think that Donald Trump did a great job
- 38:21Speaker 2: moving the polls last night? We've gotten a bunch of
- 38:23Speaker 2: talkbacks regarding Trump's appearance. We've also got a bunch of people.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Christopher brought up the write-in Ralph crew. And have we
- 38:31Speaker 2: heard from anybody yet?
- 38:32Speaker 5: Nobody who is pro write-in Ralph. Has has talked back.
- 38:36Speaker 2: There has to be somebody who listens to this show
- 38:40Speaker 2: unless it's all just a big commie scheme is the
- 38:43Speaker 2: whole right. That's we've had a couple of people say
- 38:45Speaker 2: that the whole right in route thing is just the Democrats.
- 38:48Speaker 2: There are no Republicans involved in this. I don't believe
- 38:51Speaker 2: that there's got to be a few of you who are.
- 38:53Speaker 2: upset over the Ralph Norman loss and you're part of
- 38:55Speaker 2: the right in Ralph campaign. Talk to us, use that
- 38:58Speaker 2: talk back. We don't even get a chance to talk
- 38:59Speaker 2: back to you. You just say what you're going to
- 39:01Speaker 2: say into the microphone and we'll put it on the air.
- 39:04Speaker 2: All right, right in Ralph people.
- 39:05Speaker 4: Where are you?
- 39:06Speaker 2: Use the talk back feature on the I heart radio app.
- 39:08Speaker 2: We'll be back in a moment.
- 39:09Speaker 6: This is South Carolina's morning news.
- 39:12Speaker 12: All right.
- 39:13Speaker 2: With Christopher Thompson, I am Kelly Nash. And one of
- 39:16Speaker 2: the races that's happening in South Carolina is for the
- 39:18Speaker 2: attorney general as our current attorney general, Alan Wilson is, uh,
- 39:23Speaker 2: aspiring to be the new governor.
- 39:25Speaker 4: He's not running for reelection.
- 39:27Speaker 2: And so that opened it up and we've got Republican
- 39:29Speaker 2: David Stumbo, who's been doing a pretty good job running.
- 39:33Speaker 4: According to the Post and Courier.
- 39:35Speaker 2: He currently has $ 360, 000 on hand and has raised about $ 406, 000,
- 39:38Speaker 2: according to campaign finance reports. He is running against Mount
- 39:41Speaker 2: Pleasant's And I'm going to try to say the name.
- 39:49Speaker 2: I've never heard it. Richard. Rizik.
- 39:52Speaker 3: I believe it's Rizik.
- 39:53Speaker 4: You're going to say Rizik.
- 39:54Speaker 2: It's spelled H-R-I-C-I-K. I was going to go with Horisic,
- 39:58Speaker 2: but you say it's Rizik.
- 39:59Speaker 3: I believe so.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Either way, he owns his own Mount Pleasant law firm.
- 40:04Speaker 2: And he ends the, he heads into November with $ 85.
- 40:08Speaker 13: $ 85.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Now, according to the Post and Courier, He has made
- 40:15Speaker 2: a conscious decision to not fundraise for the campaign. I'm wondering,
- 40:21Speaker 2: I'm going to just say, first off, interesting strategy, Cotton.
- 40:25Speaker 2: See how it works out for you. But also, I mean,
- 40:27Speaker 2: is it possible that he just wasn't having a lot
- 40:29Speaker 2: of success and then he just said, you know what,
- 40:32Speaker 2: now just turn down the donations.
- 40:34Speaker 4: Now turn them down.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Because I would run an ad campaign of at least
- 40:38Speaker 2: several thousand dollars just to learn how to say his
- 40:40Speaker 2: last name. Like, just have an ad saying, for those
- 40:43Speaker 2: of you wondering, my name is Herzig. It looks like
- 40:47Speaker 2: Herisic or something, but no. With $ 85, apparently he's not
- 40:52Speaker 2: going to run any ads, I'm guessing. He's just hoping
- 40:55Speaker 2: that Democrats across the board are going to pull that lever.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Maybe he's going to ride the coattails of Annie Andrews.
- 41:02Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 41:03Speaker 2: But, quote, I take no donations whatsoever except no PAC money,
- 41:07Speaker 2: no special interest money, and I'm not self-funding either. So
- 41:10Speaker 2: there's no money involved in this campaign. It's a statewide office.
- 41:15Speaker 2: The Democrat Party, if I'm them, I'm like, are you
- 41:17Speaker 2: kidding me, bro? We need some help over here.
- 41:22Speaker 5: Going back to your polling, your discussion on polling in
- 41:26Speaker 5: the last segment.
- 41:27Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 41:28Speaker 5: We mentioned the Trafalgar Group survey in the polls on
- 41:31Speaker 5: the Senate race.
- 41:33Speaker 4: I didn't bring up the name Trafalgar, but I've referenced
- 41:35Speaker 4: them before. Yes.
- 41:36Speaker 5: I mean, they are top notch usually when it comes
- 41:39Speaker 5: to Republican polling. even with the margin of error, and
- 41:44Speaker 5: as you pointed out last hour or last half hour,
- 41:46Speaker 5: that could go in either direction. It could go completely
- 41:49Speaker 5: in one direction. Even if every error made in the
- 41:54Speaker 5: Trafalgar Group's latest polling all went the Democrats' way, Alan
- 41:59Speaker 5: Wilson would still have a double-digit lead over Jermaine Johnson.
- 42:02Speaker 5: David Stumbo would still have a double-digit lead over Richard Rissick.
- 42:06Speaker 5: And Cody Simpson would still have a double-digit lead over
- 42:10Speaker 5: his closest competitor. So, you know, while the Senate races
- 42:14Speaker 5: were so focused on that because it's close, I mean,
- 42:16Speaker 5: some of these other races, even with the margin of error,
- 42:20Speaker 5: are double-digit blowouts right now.
- 42:22Speaker 4: It's a red state.
- 42:23Speaker 2: We're trying to keep it red across the board. We'll
- 42:26Speaker 2: see if we can do that with Darlene Graham. Everybody...
- 42:31Speaker 2: I'm still waiting for the right in Ralph people. Who
- 42:33Speaker 2: are the pro right in Ralph people? Do you really exist?
- 42:36Speaker 2: That is a challenge. Are there really right in Ralph
- 42:39Speaker 2: people who are not Democrats? Let us know about it
- 42:41Speaker 2: on the talkback feature. We'll take a break for the
- 42:43Speaker 2: news and be back with more.
- 42:44Speaker 6: You're listening to South Carolina's morning news.
- 42:47Speaker 14: Hey guys, this is Kevin from South Congaree. I just
- 42:50Speaker 14: wanted to call and say y'all are doing a great job.
- 42:53Speaker 14: You're growing the show. You're all over the state. You
- 42:56Speaker 14: got more talkbacks than ever. You're doing it right. Keep
- 42:59Speaker 14: doing what you're doing.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 43:02Speaker 4: Who is this Kevin fella? I love this guy. Is
- 43:05Speaker 4: he new to the show?
- 43:06Speaker 2: I don't know. Well, he said we're growing the show.
- 43:08Speaker 2: So we're growing. And that's exactly the goal. We want
- 43:12Speaker 2: to spread the good news of News Talk across the country.
- 43:17Speaker 4: I know, you know, that Christopher, when I got.
- 43:19Speaker 2: Into News Talk years ago, one of the things that
- 43:22Speaker 2: I said, I wanted to make it fun. Rush Limbaugh
- 43:25Speaker 2: used to make it fun.
- 43:26Speaker 4: Yes, he did. I want it to be fun.
- 43:28Speaker 2: I did a song parody earlier a couple of weeks
- 43:33Speaker 2: ago now about Annie Andrews. Maybe I'll play that back. Maybe,
- 43:36Speaker 2: by the way, for those of you keeping score, Annie
- 43:39Speaker 2: has already appeared in the studio with me once, and
- 43:44Speaker 2: they're all over me right now to try to get
- 43:46Speaker 2: her back in. Still waiting on Darlene. Darlene called in.
- 43:51Speaker 2: and we appreciate her making time for us on the phone,
- 43:54Speaker 2: but it would certainly be great to have her here.
- 43:56Speaker 2: I think as a, you know, and this is not
- 43:59Speaker 2: about Christopher Thompson and Kelly Nash being important, but you,
- 44:03Speaker 2: the audience is important.
- 44:05Speaker 4: You, I mean, I.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Don't want to, I don't want to say how many,
- 44:09Speaker 2: but we have a lot of folks who listen in Charleston,
- 44:12Speaker 2: a lot, a surprising amount to me about how many
- 44:16Speaker 2: people listen in Charleston. I mean, it is fantastic. The
- 44:19Speaker 2: audience growth that we're seeing in Charleston, In Columbia, it's
- 44:23Speaker 2: a very big show. This has been when Gary was
- 44:25Speaker 2: the host here, grew it out massively, big-time radio station,
- 44:29Speaker 2: big-time show.
- 44:31Speaker 4: And now it's bigger even now.
- 44:34Speaker 2: And this audience deserves the full attention of the candidates,
- 44:38Speaker 2: I would think, especially as you and I keep pointing out.
- 44:41Speaker 2: This is a turnout election. If you're going to win,
- 44:44Speaker 2: you're going to get the base out. The people in
- 44:48Speaker 2: the middle are not really– they hate both parties right now.
- 44:52Speaker 4: They're turned off by Republicans. They're turned off by Democrats.
- 44:55Speaker 2: And I know in this audience there's a lot of
- 44:57Speaker 2: people that are turned off by the Republicans. They don't
- 45:00Speaker 2: like the swamp. They don't like the machine. They don't
- 45:03Speaker 2: like whatever. So it's really about trying to get these
- 45:06Speaker 2: people that are engaged to come out and– We have
- 45:10Speaker 2: an audience for it.
- 45:12Speaker 5: And Annie Andrews knows you have a conservative audience, which
- 45:15Speaker 5: leads you to believe she thinks there are still some
- 45:18Speaker 5: voters out there that she hasn't reached yet with her
- 45:20Speaker 5: message that might possibly cross the line. You know, she
- 45:23Speaker 5: put out a list of 100, I think it was
- 45:27Speaker 5: 100 Republicans in South Carolina for Annie Andrews the other day.
- 45:31Speaker 5: A lot of those names were suspect as far as
- 45:34Speaker 5: being whether they were really republicans or not but she's
- 45:38Speaker 5: had a few sign on with her and i'm sure
- 45:40Speaker 5: she would love to have a few more if she
- 45:41Speaker 5: could get your ear one more time.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Katrina sheely was one was one on the list yes
- 45:47Speaker 2: there was like three names that i recognized the bunch
- 45:50Speaker 2: of people later on told me and i haven't researched
- 45:53Speaker 2: it like you said it was a hundred of them
- 45:54Speaker 2: i don't how many did you recognize.
- 45:56Speaker 5: Christopher i i think sheely might have been I think
- 45:59Speaker 5: there were two maybe that I recognize.
- 46:00Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 46:00Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 46:01Speaker 2: I was told that a lot of the people had,
- 46:03Speaker 2: and I'd looked at a couple of them, uh, had
- 46:06Speaker 2: been already well known as, uh, anyone but Trump type
- 46:11Speaker 2: of candidates.
- 46:11Speaker 13: Right.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Uh, and, or just Republicans in general, people who did
- 46:15Speaker 2: not like Donald Trump. And look, if, if that's you,
- 46:19Speaker 2: you might, you're probably somebody who's longing for the good
- 46:23Speaker 2: old days when Tip O'Neill and Ronald Reagan could have
- 46:26Speaker 2: a beer and Where's that old-fashioned diplomacy? Okay, well, that's dead.
- 46:31Speaker 2: That's where that is. That's not coming back. At least
- 46:35Speaker 2: not anytime soon. I'll be honest with you. I kind
- 46:40Speaker 2: of miss it, but I also kind of like the...
- 46:43Speaker 2: The realness of where we're at right now, the the
- 46:47Speaker 2: Democrats are telling you who they are. We are socialists.
- 46:51Speaker 2: They've they've hidden that for decades. They've been pushing the
- 46:55Speaker 2: party in that direction. Hillary Clinton with the Hillary care
- 46:59Speaker 2: movement of the mid 90s. They've been pushing towards socialism forever.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Now they're like, hey, we're taking the mask off. It's
- 47:07Speaker 2: like at the end of Scooby Doo. They take the
- 47:09Speaker 2: mask off.
- 47:10Speaker 4: Hey, I'm a socialist.
- 47:11Speaker 2: OK, now we know who you are. And the Republicans,
- 47:15Speaker 2: as ugly as some of it is, and we saw
- 47:18Speaker 2: some of the ugliness last night. What do we have?
- 47:19Speaker 2: Twelve people arrested, I think, last night at the Trump rally.
- 47:23Speaker 2: There was some ugliness up there. And Donald Trump is
- 47:25Speaker 2: not a statesman, so to speak, a traditionalist. He is raw.
- 47:33Speaker 2: And real and a fighter. And that's what attracted a
- 47:35Speaker 2: lot of people to the party. It turned off some
- 47:38Speaker 2: of the people from the party. But I think that
- 47:40Speaker 2: what we're seeing is this is the new thing that's
- 47:43Speaker 2: going to happen for the foreseeable future. Whoever the next president. Look,
- 47:47Speaker 2: if you get Marco Rubio or I don't know, whoever.
- 47:52Speaker 7: J.D.
- 47:52Speaker 6: Vance.
- 47:52Speaker 7: J.D.
- 47:53Speaker 9: Vance.
- 47:53Speaker 4: I was trying to.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Ron... What's.
- 47:55Speaker 4: His name down in Florida?
- 47:56Speaker 7: DeSantis.
- 47:56Speaker 4: DeSantis.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Whoever you get as the nominee for the Republicans, they're
- 48:01Speaker 2: going to say some ugly things. They are going to
- 48:02Speaker 2: say ugly things in a campaign. That's just the way
- 48:05Speaker 2: it's going to go. And guaranteed, the Democrats are going
- 48:08Speaker 2: to be really ugly with whatever they come out with.
- 48:12Speaker 4: It's just.
- 48:13Speaker 2: And for those of you who don't have a stomach
- 48:15Speaker 2: for it, completely understand. Try to, at that point, if
- 48:18Speaker 2: you cannot... stomach the ugliness that is modern day politics,
- 48:24Speaker 2: try to just read positions and see which positions most
- 48:28Speaker 2: closely align with who you are. And if, and especially
- 48:32Speaker 2: in a primary, because that's where a lot of the
- 48:35Speaker 2: decision is made, because once you get, as we've already said,
- 48:37Speaker 2: it's a team sport. So it's like the primary is like, we're,
- 48:41Speaker 2: we're trying out who's going to be the starting team.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Once you pick your starting five for your basketball team,
- 48:47Speaker 2: that's your five. Either you're for that five or you're
- 48:50Speaker 2: against that five. But you can't say I'm for the
- 48:53Speaker 2: three of them, but I hate the two of them,
- 48:54Speaker 2: so I'm going to try to swap them out for
- 48:56Speaker 2: the other two on the other side.
- 48:57Speaker 4: Of the team. You can't do it.
- 48:58Speaker 2: It doesn't work that way. It's a team sport, and
- 49:01Speaker 2: there's a lot riding on it. It's a lot more
- 49:04Speaker 2: than just sports. Not to diminish sports, Christopher.
- 49:07Speaker 3: No, that's okay.
- 49:07Speaker 4: I love sports. I got what you mean.
- 49:09Speaker 2: But there's more involved here than just wins and losses
- 49:12Speaker 2: as far as cheering interests. It comes down to tax policies,
- 49:16Speaker 2: social policies.
- 49:17Speaker 3: Future of our country.
- 49:18Speaker 2: Future of the country. It's all on the ballot, as
- 49:21Speaker 2: they say. All right.
- 49:22Speaker 4: I've run long. We've got to take a break.
- 49:24Speaker 2: Thank you again for that beautiful talk back.
- 49:26Speaker 4: Loved it. Back in just a moment.
- 49:28Speaker 6: Your news, traffic, weather, and information stations.
- 49:32Speaker 1: This is South Carolina's morning news on 103.5 FM, 560 AM, WVOC,
- 49:39Speaker 1: and 94.3 WSC.
- 49:43Speaker 2: As a local radio talent, I try to learn from
- 49:46Speaker 2: the national radio talents.
- 49:47Speaker 4: And so.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Listening to Hillary Farski, I have to figure out a
- 49:52Speaker 2: way to just start delivering my last name, Christopher, like
- 49:55Speaker 2: Kelly Nash or something like that. Apparently, that's what gets
- 50:00Speaker 2: you to the national level. So I'm working on that. Also,
- 50:02Speaker 2: coming up next, probably one of the more stunning accusations
- 50:07Speaker 2: from a Republican that I've ever heard. We're going to
- 50:09Speaker 2: get to that next. Thanks for getting your day started
- 50:12Speaker 2: with South Carolina's Morning News.
- 50:13Speaker 6: This is South Carolina's Morning News.
- 50:16Speaker 4: Well, the sad career.
- 50:18Speaker 2: Of Thomas Massey is about to wrap up, but he's
- 50:20Speaker 2: not going to go quietly into the night. I didn't
- 50:24Speaker 2: actually see this on ABC the other day, but apparently
- 50:27Speaker 2: Thomas Massey dropping bombs and says that the DOJ is
- 50:33Speaker 2: now involved in a massive Epstein cover-up.
- 50:37Speaker 13: I know the DOJ wants to say they're done with
- 50:40Speaker 13: this document production. The problem is they've taken down documents
- 50:44Speaker 13: before we were able to go over to the DOJ
- 50:46Speaker 13: and look at the unredacted versions. They took down some
- 50:49Speaker 13: of the most significant documents, two of them involving Virginia
- 50:54Speaker 13: Dufresne's case and other things, the picture of... Epstein in
- 51:02Speaker 13: a room where it's got CIA written on the boxes,
- 51:05Speaker 13: that's been taken down. We want to be able to
- 51:08Speaker 13: look at all these files. They can't keep those documents
- 51:10Speaker 13: down after they've already produced them.
- 51:13Speaker 4: Okay, but they didn't take them down.
- 51:16Speaker 2: So I can go right now to DOJ.gov and the
- 51:23Speaker 2: Epstein library is open and there is a photo of
- 51:27Speaker 2: Jeffrey Epstein with the CIA boxes behind him. So you
- 51:31Speaker 2: can easily find that this is one. This guy is
- 51:34Speaker 2: a lunatic.
- 51:36Speaker 13: Why?
- 51:37Speaker 2: And the fact that I, by the way, to your
- 51:39Speaker 2: earlier point, Christopher, the only reason I saw this, somebody
- 51:44Speaker 2: who I know on social media.
- 51:46Speaker 4: That is a right in Ralph person is retweeting it.
- 51:50Speaker 2: So there, I do know some people online. I, we
- 51:54Speaker 2: have yet to find the right in Ralph people that
- 51:56Speaker 2: listen to the show. And we, we would love, and again,
- 52:00Speaker 2: we're not even going to have an opportunity to question you.
- 52:03Speaker 2: We just want you to push the microphone and say,
- 52:06Speaker 2: I'm writing in Ralph because of this. What is the
- 52:09Speaker 2: reason that you're using the right in Ralph campaign? But
- 52:13Speaker 2: Thomas Massey, is fully off the rails, complete lunatic now.
- 52:18Speaker 2: And the DOJ has got three and a half million
- 52:21Speaker 2: files online right now, thousands and thousands of photographs. If
- 52:25Speaker 2: you're interested in exploring the Epstein files, they're all there
- 52:28Speaker 2: for you, as many as they can put out.
- 52:32Speaker 5: He and I think two of the protesters at last
- 52:34Speaker 5: night's Trump rally are the only people talking about the
- 52:37Speaker 5: Epstein files right now.
- 52:39Speaker 2: I mean, it's... It's sad to see somebody's career wrap
- 52:44Speaker 2: up this way, but there is Thomas Massey putting a
- 52:47Speaker 2: bow on it. All right, we'll take a break, be
- 52:49Speaker 2: back with more. We're getting near the top of the hour.
- 52:52Speaker 2: It's almost 8 o'clock.
- 52:54Speaker 1: This is South Carolina's Morning News on 103.5 FM and
- 52:58Speaker 1: 560 AM, WVOC, Columbia, and 94.3 WSC, Charleston.
- 53:05Speaker 2: It turns out that myself, Kelly Nash, Christopher Thompson, we
- 53:10Speaker 2: were worried— For no reason. There was no need for concern.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Ilhan Omar was fine all along. Oh, thank goodness.
- 53:19Speaker 12: I know.
- 53:20Speaker 2: Where is she? Last night, she popped up on MS
- 53:24Speaker 2: Now and gave an interview, which really kind of puts
- 53:27Speaker 2: everything to rest now. I forget the guy's name who's
- 53:31Speaker 2: asking her the questions. Asked, well, how did this rumor
- 53:33Speaker 2: about you and your brother even get started?
- 53:36Speaker 12: Why?
- 53:36Speaker 13: Why?
- 53:38Speaker 9: It started with the Somali blog that I don't know
- 53:43Speaker 9: if it still exists, but somebody put in there that,
- 53:45Speaker 9: you know, that he had to have been my brother
- 53:48Speaker 9: or something to that effect.
- 53:49Speaker 4: You were not related to him at all?
- 53:51Speaker 9: Not to my knowledge.
- 53:56Speaker 2: Not to my knowledge that, you know, when somebody says,
- 53:59Speaker 2: did you marry your sister? I often look at my wife,
- 54:02Speaker 2: Angela and go, not to my knowledge. I mean, I'm
- 54:05Speaker 2: not going to say it's not possible. I'm just saying
- 54:07Speaker 2: not to my knowledge.
- 54:08Speaker 4: I don't believe that to be the case.
- 54:11Speaker 3: Not very convincing.
- 54:13Speaker 4: Golly. She's not very good at the, uh, at the lying.
- 54:16Speaker 2: Um, Look, I don't think I've said I don't believe
- 54:22Speaker 2: that Ilhan married her brother because I didn't. I don't
- 54:25Speaker 2: believe that there's some sort of benefit to marrying her
- 54:29Speaker 2: brother in order to try to get him into the country.
- 54:32Speaker 2: If she was, in fact, a naturalized citizen, the reason
- 54:36Speaker 2: she was allowed into the country originally was a refugee status.
- 54:41Speaker 2: That was in 1995. That's not in dispute as far
- 54:45Speaker 2: as I can tell. To my knowledge, as far as
- 54:48Speaker 2: I know, that is the official story of both the
- 54:52Speaker 2: United States government and Ilhan Omar, that in 1995, she
- 54:56Speaker 2: was brought in as a refugee. She was a child
- 54:58Speaker 2: at that point. And then in 2000, her father was
- 55:03Speaker 2: naturalized as a citizen. And of course, as a father,
- 55:07Speaker 2: he would ask for his child or children to be
- 55:11Speaker 2: brought in.
- 55:12Speaker 4: They're minors. Can we make them citizens as well?
- 55:15Speaker 2: And the U.S. government granted that. It was later on revealed,
- 55:19Speaker 2: maybe errantly, that her birthday is in 1981, which would
- 55:23Speaker 2: have made it impossible for her to be under the
- 55:25Speaker 2: age of 18 in the year 2000. That seems to
- 55:31Speaker 2: be the gist of the investigation. That then was amplified
- 55:36Speaker 2: middle of this week, like Tuesday, when we found out
- 55:40Speaker 2: that they also were getting DNA swabs from Ilhan Omar
- 55:43Speaker 2: when they went into her home last Monday. We know
- 55:47Speaker 2: that the sister's phone is what led to the investigation,
- 55:52Speaker 2: the signing of the warrant.
- 55:54Speaker 4: That's what I should say.
- 55:55Speaker 2: The warrant was because they saw something on Ilhan Omar's
- 55:59Speaker 2: sister's phone, who I am now calling Fredo, Fredo Omar.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Fredo Omar had something on the phone that led to this, again,
- 56:08Speaker 2: Democrat-appointed judge signing a warrant to go ahead and search
- 56:14Speaker 2: their home. their premises and get a DNA sample.
- 56:17Speaker 4: I don't know what's on.
- 56:18Speaker 2: The phone and I don't know what the DNA is
- 56:21Speaker 2: going to reveal. I just know that Ilhan Omar challenged them, said,
- 56:27Speaker 2: go ahead and investigate me. A challenge accepted. And so
- 56:32Speaker 2: they started the investigation. I do have a, this was
- 56:36Speaker 2: a clip of her yesterday. I was playing this yesterday.
- 56:38Speaker 2: She popped up on Tik TOK and, And let me
- 56:42Speaker 2: let me just.
- 56:43Speaker 4: How do I get rid of that one? I got
- 56:45Speaker 4: to get rid of one to get to the other one.
- 56:46Speaker 4: There we go.
- 56:47Speaker 2: OK, so this is Ilhan Omar riding in a car
- 56:50Speaker 2: and she got the snot bubbles coming.
- 56:52Speaker 9: Thank you so much again.
- 56:53Speaker 12: And please continue to support us. It is going to
- 56:57Speaker 12: be a very expensive and challenging time. And so we
- 57:02Speaker 12: appreciate whether you're able to send five.
- 57:05Speaker 2: 10, 20.
- 57:05Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 57:06Speaker 4: So there you go.
- 57:07Speaker 3: So she's she's fundraising off the raid.
- 57:11Speaker 4: Yes. This is a legal defense, apparently. So we're going
- 57:14Speaker 4: to need some money.
- 57:15Speaker 2: And again, you could hear her sniffling because she got
- 57:17Speaker 2: the snot bubbles because she's crying because they're investigating me.
- 57:21Speaker 4: Well, you asked for that.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Now, listen, I'm going to try to put a fairytale
- 57:24Speaker 2: ending on this because I might have said this on
- 57:27Speaker 2: the show yesterday. Ilhan Omar in a speech last year
- 57:30Speaker 2: I think it was, maybe it was two years ago now,
- 57:32Speaker 2: brought in the former president of Somalia who gave a
- 57:36Speaker 2: speech and no one pushed back and said that this
- 57:38Speaker 2: is not the proper translation.
- 57:39Speaker 4: He delivered it.
- 57:40Speaker 2: In their native tongue to a bunch of people in
- 57:42Speaker 2: Minnesota where the Somalian flags were waving in Minnesota talking
- 57:47Speaker 2: about Ilhan Omar loves Somalia and she's doing all she
- 57:51Speaker 2: can for Somalia. And I would say she's doing more
- 57:53Speaker 2: for Somalia than she is the U.S. And those people
- 57:56Speaker 2: there who are in the U.S., waving their Somalian flags,
- 57:59Speaker 2: very excited to hear that. And then she said, I'm
- 58:02Speaker 2: a Somalian girl at heart, and I miss my homeland. I,
- 58:07Speaker 2: as a U.S. taxpayer, want to be a part of
- 58:09Speaker 2: this happy ending. I want, again, the Homeland Security is
- 58:15Speaker 2: here to help. You and I, as taxpayers, we don't
- 58:19Speaker 2: even have to fundraise. We've already paid for this. Let's
- 58:22Speaker 2: use our tax dollars on something we can all agree upon.
- 58:25Speaker 2: She wants to live in Somalia. We can help make,
- 58:29Speaker 2: it's like a Disney, like imagine she's been dragged off
- 58:32Speaker 2: to a far off land. She doesn't know her way
- 58:35Speaker 2: around America. She doesn't want to be here. She wants
- 58:37Speaker 2: to be in Somalia and you and I can make
- 58:40Speaker 2: that dream come true. Let's make it come true. And
- 58:45Speaker 2: turn that frown upside down, Ilhan. And I guarantee you
- 58:50Speaker 2: don't have to marry your brother again unless you want to.
- 58:52Speaker 4: That's up to you.
- 58:53Speaker 5: He's not the prince at the end that kisses her
- 58:55Speaker 5: and wakes her up and she's back in Somalia?
- 58:57Speaker 2: You're making the story even better. I love it. Christopher
- 59:01Speaker 2: is making the story even better. It's a fairy tale
- 59:04Speaker 2: that we get to live.
- 59:05Speaker 4: In here, ladies and gentlemen. As we send Ilhan Omar,
- 59:08Speaker 4: we just... pay for all of it.
- 59:11Speaker 2: You get to go back to Somalia and enjoy that
- 59:13Speaker 2: homeland of yours. And I wonder, I just, the audacity
- 59:19Speaker 2: to just try to fundraise, though. That is fantastic. I
- 59:22Speaker 2: stole $ 250 million, but, you know, if you could pitch
- 59:25Speaker 2: in another 10 or 20, I'd certainly appreciate it. Thoughts
- 59:28Speaker 2: on Ilhan Omar or any of the other stuff we've
- 59:30Speaker 2: been talking about this morning, please use that microphone on the.
- 59:33Speaker 4: iHeartRadio app to use the talkback back.
- 59:36Speaker 2: In a moment.
- 59:37Speaker 1: Live from the state capitol, this is South Carolina's Morning News.
- 59:42Speaker 2: All right, I want to say thank you, Avery, who
- 59:44Speaker 2: sent me a message on, I think, Facebook here.
- 59:46Speaker 4: I'm just looking at it quickly.
- 59:49Speaker 2: And by the way, if you want to get at
- 59:50Speaker 2: me on social media, Kelly Nash Radio is the handle.
- 59:54Speaker 2: And we do live stream the show on Facebook, YouTube,
- 59:57Speaker 2: and X. So just adding further doubt.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: Into the Ilhan Omar story.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: And this is, I'll go and say, I'll say I
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: have run it through grok. Now, again, Grok is AI,
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: and Grok can make mistakes. I think they always preface that.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: AI can make mistakes. But this is what Grok has confirmed. 2002,
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: Omar entered a religious Islamic faith tradition marriage with Ahmed Hirsi.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: They applied for a civil marriage license but never finalized it.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: So they had a religious marriage but not a civil
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: marriage in the United States. They had two kids. and
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: then separated in 2008. On February of 2009, she married
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: British citizen Ahmed Nour Saeed Elmi in a civil ceremony
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: that took place in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and that was
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: performed by a Christian minister. So that's an unusual twist
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: that a Christian minister is performing a wedding for two Muslims.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: And then Hennepin County Marriage Certificate documents this. Omar said
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: that relationship ended in 2011. That's what she said. However,
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: the divorce was not done until December 4th, 2017.
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: So she's legally.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: Married in the United States from 2009 to 2017. While
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: still legally married to Elmi, that's the the guy she
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: got married to by the Christian pastor, Omar reconciled, she said,
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: with the original husband and had another child. So a
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: third child was born in 2012. And they filed joint
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: tax returns in the United States in 2014 and 2015,
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: though she was legally married to somebody else in the
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: United States. That's the guy that they're claiming is her brother.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: It doesn't really add up, does it?
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: No, it doesn't.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: I'm filing joint tax returns. I'm married to my wife, Angela,
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: but I'm filing joint tax returns with my ex-wife.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: I mean, that seems odd at best.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Odd?
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: I mean, can you file joint tax returns with somebody
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: you're not married to, I guess? I've never tried it.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: Where are the tax experts? Call in with your tax expert.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Can I file joint tax returns with Christopher? Does that
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: help me or hurt us? I don't know. These are
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: the types of questions I never even thought to ask.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Maybe that proves that she is smarter than us. She
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: said that America is being led by idiots because we're
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: trying to deport her, and we shouldn't be proud of that.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: And maybe she is smarter than all of us because
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: she figured out you can file joint tax returns with.
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: Just about anybody.
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: And now she's asking those idiots for money to fund
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: her defense.
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: Is it to fund the defense?
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: I mean, maybe it's just to buy some more headdresses.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: I don't know what she wants. But Ilhan Omar's story
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: will continue. Obviously, we're going to continue to watch that
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: closely and see if she ends up being the first
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: ever sitting congressperson deported.
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: She, by the way, still.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: According to the CalSheet Mark, it's a 98% chance of
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: winning re-election here in November.
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: So not affecting the polls.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: And again, we talked about the polls earlier, including that
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: fake poll scandal that came out yesterday. If you missed
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: that or any parts of the show, you can get
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: that on the SC Morning News podcast. Christopher compiles that
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: and gets that up about 30 minutes after the show ends.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: You can find that for free on the free iHeartRadio app.
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: This is South Carolina's Morning News.
- 1:03:46Speaker 15: In Northeast Columbia. I'm one of a group of people,
- 1:03:51Speaker 15: and I really don't know how big my group is,
- 1:03:53Speaker 15: that refuses to take part in a poll. And so
- 1:03:58Speaker 15: I don't know how that factors into the margin of
- 1:04:02Speaker 15: error or the accuracy of the poll, but I'm sure
- 1:04:06Speaker 15: it must affect it in some way. You guys have
- 1:04:09Speaker 15: a good morning.
- 1:04:10Speaker 16: Hey, this is Scott in Columbia. I just want to
- 1:04:12Speaker 16: say the write-in route, folks. I believe that is actually...
- 1:04:17Speaker 16: people on the other side, not Republicans that are trying
- 1:04:20Speaker 16: to spread division. Went and voted yesterday, cast my vote
- 1:04:26Speaker 16: for Darlene, hoping and praying she has a strong showing
- 1:04:30Speaker 16: for herself and that we retain the stuff we need
- 1:04:34Speaker 16: to retain.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: All right, some good talkbacks there. That's interesting about not
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: taking place. I've only been in one poll, and I
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: think it's because I do a lot to kind of
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: block my cell phone number, so I Don't get a
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: lot of spam.
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: I also have a, if you have a, I don't
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: know if it's on all phones. My wife doesn't have it.
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: She has an iPhone. She always brags about iPhone. I
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: have a Google Pixel.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: I don't know if it's all droids or not, but
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: mine will identify likely spam callers. And I also have
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: a preview button. So if I don't recognize the number
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: and it says it's not a likely spam number, I'll
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: just hit that little thing and it'll say, hi, I'm
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: answering on behalf of the user. Would you like to
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: state your name or whatever? And then they'd usually hang up. Um, but, uh, yeah, I,
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: I was in a poll once I was on the
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: air here at WVOC in Columbia and it would have
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: been during the 2012 election.
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: I think it was. And, um, I was an ABC poll.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: I remember that. And so I went through that one
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: and it was like, how likely are you to vote
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: for Barack Obama? And I was like, do you have
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: something less than zero?
- 1:05:37Speaker 5: Um, I took part in a poll the other day
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: just to see what they were asking and And it,
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: they asked about five issues.
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: Tariffs, healthcare costs, the Warner on gas prices and support
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: of Israel. Those were the five issues they were pulling.
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: Apparently Republicans on.
- 1:06:00Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: Well, I believe it.
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: I mean, that's, that is a big deal for a
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: lot of people.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: Before we go to break, I know that, uh, look, I,
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: I am a friend of Alan Wilson's, uh, and the
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: family I've, I've, I think for about the last decade
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: or so, we've spent every New Year's Eve together.
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: We hang out together.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: We're part of a crew that watches Gamecock Road games together.
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: So, yes, I am biased towards Alan Wilson.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: I tried not to show that during the primaries, but
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: now that he's the nominee, I'm very pro-Alan Wilson. And
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: they just dropped the new ad. This is a follow-up.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: to the ad that they ran during the primaries, which
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: I thought maybe again, because I am biased, I thought
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: was the best ad of the entire campaign season featuring
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: his two kids. If you remember that one, Christopher, they're
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: sitting on the front steps. Now they're sitting inside. Michael
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: is his son. I forget what restaurant he works at.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: It might be like a Zaxby's or one of those
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: types of drive-through restaurants or whatever. And here he is
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: with his sister, Anna Grace. And they're talking about the
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: fact that he He now just realizes what kind of
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: taxes he's paying when he gets his first paycheck.
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: So I got my first paycheck.
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: He was so excited.
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: And then I opened it.
- 1:07:10Speaker 6: And he was less excited.
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: Why does the state get so much of my money?
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: Our dad, Alan Wilson, is running for governor.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: He will eliminate the state income tax.
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: So you keep what you earn.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: He'll save everyone money on every paycheck.
- 1:07:22Speaker 6: Just like I save money on this sign. I think
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: that's actually worse than before.
- 1:07:28Speaker 14: What?
- 1:07:29Speaker 11: Alan Wilson.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: So, if you remember the first one where she was like,
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: you were supposed to make a sign. He's like, oh,
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: I got it right here.
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: And he pulls it up.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: It's like hand-drawn. He's got another hand-drawn sign here as well.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: The kids are stealing the election season.
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: I really do believe that. So, great ad from the
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: Wilson campaign.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: More talkbacks.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: More ideas.
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: And by the way, I still haven't gotten to my.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: I think I started the show talking about there is
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: a new problem in America. We have another psychological problem.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: And we are.
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: I have the cure.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: First off, I got to identify it for you because
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: you might not be aware of it. And then I'm
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: going to provide the cure. I don't know that the
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: people who have it are going to want to hear
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: the cure, but I will give you both the problem
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: and the solution coming up next on South Carolina's morning news.
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: You're listening to South Carolina's morning news.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: Really do appreciate people engaging with the pro the broadcast,
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: whether you do it on the talkback features, uh, or
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: you reach out to me on social media. I got, uh, Mike, uh, says, uh,
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: listening to the show this morning, driving, can't use the talkback,
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: but I wanted to let you know that I'm looking
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: at Ralph kind of like sports.
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: My Yankees lost and aren't going to the World Series.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: And as an American League fan, I'm going to support
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: the Rays because as this is the all-star game, I
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: want the American League to kick the National League's butt.
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: So I will be all in for the Rays, even
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: though I usually root against them all season long. Likewise,
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: my guy in the primaries lost. And we all need
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: to support Darlene. Socialists can't win. Great, great perspective, Mike.
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: Thank you for that. Now, one of the problems that's
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: happening in America that folks are not identifying, I think,
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: yet is IDS. Now, we've heard of TDS. That's Trump
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: Derangement Syndrome. IDS is Ice Derangement Syndrome, and we have
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: it in spades in the liberal counties and country or
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: parts of this country. Uh, we've got a guy who
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: was able to thank God they arrested this nut.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: Um, Mr. Gill, which is a, it doesn't matter what
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: his first name is.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: Mr.
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: Going to jail Gill. That's his name.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: Uh, he told the police that his wife had been
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: abducted by ice when she was at the post, just
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: getting the mail, the end of the driveway. And here
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: comes ice and bam, they snatched my wife and soon
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: off she goes. Was able to get a little bit
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: of traction with that until there was just the hint
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: of an investigation. And that's when the sister said, no,
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: she's trying to escape him because he's an abuser and
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: has filed for divorce.
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: And so, well, turned out.
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: There's always a little more to the story than we
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: get originally.
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: Turned out he murdered her.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: Allegedly.
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: Allegedly.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: They found her remains buried about 20 miles away. But yeah,
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: there were some people who were like, oh my God, ICE,
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: you just abducted another person?
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, it's horrible.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: Now, also in California, the mayor of a small town,
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: I think it's called Kerman, Mayor Maria Pacheco seems to
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: be in some sort of trouble. She went viral. Now,
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: she is the current mayor of Kerman, but an upgrade
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: in position would be if she could make it to
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: the county council. And so she's running for county council.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: She wants to be on the Fresno County Council.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: So she had a.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: Video that she shot several weeks ago where she had
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: heard ICE was detaining some people outside of a bakery
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: in Fresno. And she was Johnny on the spot, had
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: her little iPhone out or whatever, and filmed herself standing
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: up to the ICE agents.
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: Like, unhand these great citizens. And that video went pretty viral.
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: I think it got like 18,000 views or something. That
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: is a lot.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: And she apparently was able to fundraise off that. So
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: I'm trying to replicate my previous success. So now her
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: campaign seems to be just driving around Fresno looking for
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: ICE agents to harass.
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: That's the whole campaign, I think, at this point.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: The last guy that she suspected of being an ICE
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: agent would be the last person you and I would
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: suspect of being an ICE agent. This guy is driving
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: the whitest of white Mercedes. Now, when you think of
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: an ICE agent, don't we always think of like the
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: blacked out SUVs? This guy is rolling around in a
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: white SUV. I think it's even got like some special
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: rims on it. And he's a I'm going to guess
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: gay just based off of his speech patterns and his profession.
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: He's a hairdresser. So this is a what I am
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: assuming is a gay.
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: Black hairdresser driving around in a tricked out Mercedes who
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: she then boxed in and would not let him go.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: So let's go to Fox 26 in Fresno as they
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: give us a little bit of an update on the story.
- 1:12:24Speaker 10: Bridges says he then got out and started recording Pacheco himself.
- 1:12:28Speaker 6: In that video, he can be heard saying.
- 1:12:31Speaker 10: Don't ever in your life follow me, you weird ass.
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: And when his sister asked Pacheco who she was, Bridges
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: says this was her response.
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: She's like, don't worry about it. I'm somebody important.
- 1:12:42Speaker 13: And she flips us off and drove off.
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: She flipped them off and drove off. I'm somebody important.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: Sure she is.
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: I'm out here hunting ICE agents.
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: So we have a serious case of ICE derangement syndrome. Now,
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: I love America. I even love Californians. I love people
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: in Minnesota. I love Oregon.
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: I love the Boston, Massachusetts, even though I'm.
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: A Yankees fan. I love all of these people because
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: they're Americans. I love the Americans there. And I understand...
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: that you might not agree with ICE and some of
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: the aggressive behavior going after the criminal element. And then unfortunately, some,
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: what you would term the good illegals, the people who
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: are trying to just be quiet and live a quiet
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: life here in the United States, that they get caught
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: up in it. I have the solution if you'll only listen.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: The medicine to cure you of your ICE derangement syndrome
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: is to remove the sanctuary city, state, or county policies.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: In other words, when your law enforcement arrests somebody, they've
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: already caught them doing something bad. They then run the
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: paperwork and say, uh-oh, this person is wanted for something
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: else in another state or another country, and they're also
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: not here legally. At that point, allow them to turn
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: them over to ICE. ICE will come in and just
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: take them right from the safety of the prison. No
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: citizens are put at risk. Guess what goes away? The
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: Home Depot raids. All of that stuff stops because you're
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: now cooperating with law enforcement, and you don't have to
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: go out and have ICE hunts like this idiot mayor
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: in California pulling over white Mercedes.
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: I take care of ICE. What did he say?
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: You weird ass. Anyway, if you just get rid of
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: your sanctuary city and state policies, you will get rid
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: of ICE basically being in your business. They're going to
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: get out your business. So don't have the ICE derangement syndrome.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: We don't have ICE derangement syndrome here in South Carolina.
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: We don't have it in any Republican-leaning city, states, or whatever.
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: Wherever there's no... Sanctuary policies, we're able to catch the
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: bad illegals, the worst of the worst, and deport them,
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: and we don't have to actually get involved with what, again,
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: you call the good illegals. So there's your prescription if
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: you're willing to take it.
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: I kind of get the feeling that you guys like this,
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: that you actually... secretly kind of love hating on ICE,
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: but that's maybe I'm wrong.
- 1:15:20Speaker 4: Prove me wrong. I'd love to hear that. And if
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: you are, if you want to prove me wrong, use
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: the talkback feature.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: All you socialists get to get at us on the
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: I heart radio app, Kelly Nash, Christopher Thompson, back in a.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Minute, your news traffic, weather, and information stations. This is
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: South Carolina's morning news on one Oh 3.5 FM, 5
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: 60 AM WVOC and 94, three WSC.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: Thanks to Aaron getting at me on X at Kelly
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: Nash Radio. If you want to tweet at me, he
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: says those IDS people, which we were talking about in
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: the last segment, are the same people with IBS. They're
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: full of blank. Yes, I believe that the IDS people
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: are as well. Listen, sad developments apparently going on at
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: the college level. If you haven't heard, obviously everybody's heard
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: about what's going on with the, what's the university?
- 1:16:14Speaker 11: Cornell.
- 1:16:15Speaker 4: Cornell, the Cornell 7.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: That case is still pending, I guess, and there's more
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: and more updates and nastiness coming out. We got a
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: story now out of the University of North Carolina at
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: Charlotte where a 19-year-old female student says that she was
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: recorded by, it turns out the guy's not a student there,
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: but he's 19 years old as well. during a, we'll
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: just say, intimate moment. And then he shared that video
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: with Sigma Alpha Epilson Fraternity Group, which has 32 members.
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: He confirmed to her and police that he did it
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: to look cool. Not so cool in his mugshot. Also,
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: out of New York City, this is an even darker,
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: far darker turn. We have one female dead and another
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: one in the hospital. After they received drugs with fentanyl
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: in it, they were told that there was no fentanyl.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: It's just a good party drug, according to the people
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: who did it. Moses Fryer, age 19, and Brian Cabrera, 18,
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: of Queens, are charged with conspiracy to distribute narcotics that
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: resulted in death, serious bodily injury. And while both of
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: the women were passed out, they apparently had intimate relations
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: with them. It turns out now... that one of the
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: women was actually deceased at the time.
- 1:17:40Speaker 13: Oh, oh.
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: And then they took photographs, and then they texted that
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: out to some of their friends as well. So I
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: have no idea what is taking over the youth of America,
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: but it is an evil spirit. There's something demonic happening
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: there because this is crazy stuff. Anyway, just thought you
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: might want to know about that.
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: Maybe not. I'm sorry.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: Maybe I should apologize for that last segment.
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: We'll be back with one more next.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: From the Midlands to the Lowcountry, this is South Carolina's
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: Morning News.
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: Christopher, we failed today. This morning, we set out on
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: a mission. We launched the show at about 6-0-whatever. And
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: we spent the last almost three hours searching for a
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: right-in-Ralph person to call in and Just say anything. Why
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: are you doing the right in Ralph campaign? Or maybe you,
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: how did you, were you affected at all by Donald
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: Trump's speech? We got nobody who says I'm a right
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: in Ralph person, which leads me to believe that with the,
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: not the humble brag, we are the most listened to
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: conservative news talk morning show in South Carolina right now.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: And with that in mind, the fact that in this
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: audience we couldn't find one right in Ralph Person makes
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: me believe that the rumors are true, that it's not organic,
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: that it's actually completely fake.
- 1:19:03Speaker 5: I think it was organic at the start, but then
- 1:19:06Speaker 5: it became, okay, You know, how can we manipulate these
- 1:19:09Speaker 5: people or sound like we're using this cause in order
- 1:19:13Speaker 5: to boost the chances of aiding Andrews?
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: And we did hear from a couple of people who
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: saw stuff with the Trump rally. You know, I didn't
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: watch it, but I'm reading some of the highlights of it.
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: It sounds like it started off kind of rough with
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: a bunch of protesters getting kicked out. They said Trump
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: was on stage at 708 within 10 minutes.
- 1:19:33Speaker 4: Six people had interrupted him.
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: 20 minutes later, they had three more hecklers pop up.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: I saw the one with the guy getting popped in
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: the mouth there or whatever. That old man got pretty
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: good whacked. And then I saw another guy being removed
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: and somebody chased him down the hallway and popped him
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: in the back of the head. So the Trump fans,
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: the MAGA people are very.
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: Hardcore about their love of the president.
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: Don't mess with MAGA.
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: Apparently not, but we do appreciate you guys starting your
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: day with us using the Talkback feature, engaging with us
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: on social media. Don't forget the SC Morning News podcast.
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: That'll be up in a little bit on the iHeartRadio app.
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: If you've missed any of the show, want to catch
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: any of the interviews or whatever, go there and get
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: it in just a little bit.
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: We'll talk to you tomorrow after 6.
