- 0:07Will: Welcome to Generation Gap in the 90s, the podcast where a Gen X girl and a millennial guy dive deep into the decade that defined us from OJ to Y2K.
- 0:14Will: VHS tapes to the dawn of the DVD.
- 0:17Will: We're revisiting movies, music, and events that shaped a generation, or in our case, two generations.
- 0:23Will: Today, we have a special guest.
- 0:26Will: We are joined by a Gen Z-er.
- 0:30Teagan: That's right.
- 0:31Teagan: Hello.
- 0:33Will: And who is this, Lesli?
- 0:34Will: This is Teagan.
- 0:35Lesli: i This is Teagan.
- 0:36Lesli: She's my younger daughter.
- 0:37Will: Hi, Teagan.
- 0:39Teagan: Hello.
- 0:39Teagan: Teagan's a senior in high school.
- 0:41Will: Senior in high school?
- 0:43Teagan: Yeah.
- 0:43Unknown: Okay.
- 0:44Lesli: Her life's looking up, you know.
- 0:46Will: Nowhere to go but up.
- 0:48Will: It gets so much worse.
- 0:51Teagan: I know.
- 0:52Teagan: Don't tell me that.
- 0:52Teagan: No, it's all good.
- 0:53Teagan: All good.
- 0:54Teagan: Well, thank you for joining us.
- 0:55Teagan: Very excited to have you.
- 0:57Teagan: I'm excited because I think she already thinks I'm lame.
- 1:06Speaker 00: Thinks?
- 1:06Teagan: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:07Teagan: So now she can tell the world how I'm lame.
- 1:11Teagan: Now it's recorded.
- 1:12Teagan: Yeah.
- 1:14Teagan: Now it's documented for all to see.
- 1:15Teagan: That's
- 1:16Speaker 00: right.
- 1:16Speaker 00: For all to see.
- 1:17Teagan: For all to hear.
- 1:18Teagan: There
- 1:19Speaker 00: you go.
- 1:19Speaker 00: So we brought in a younger generation so that we could kind of mess with her a little bit.
- 1:31Teagan: I mean, if you think about it, her life is completely different.
- 1:38Speaker 00: Oh, yeah.
- 1:38Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 1:39Speaker 00: A hundred percent.
- 1:40Speaker 00: Um, you, so to put it in perspective, you grew up with no internet.
- 1:47Teagan: Yes.
- 1:48Speaker 00: I grew up with the beginning of the internet.
- 1:50Teagan: Yes.
- 1:51Speaker 00: And you've grown up with only internet.
- 1:53Teagan: Yeah.
- 1:54Speaker 00: Like it's always been there for
- 1:55Teagan: you.
- 1:55Teagan: Yeah.
- 1:55Teagan: The first thing we got for Christmas and you're like five or six and you bring out an iPod.
- 1:58Teagan: Oh, that's right.
- 2:00Teagan: Oh wow.
- 2:00Teagan: And we shared it.
- 2:01Speaker 00: Wow.
- 2:02Speaker 00: That was the
- 2:02Teagan: first technology we got was the iPod that we shared, and then we got an iPad.
- 2:06Teagan: That's because we're cool parents.
- 2:08Speaker 00: I guess so.
- 2:08Speaker 00: On
- 2:09Teagan: the back, it said Brennan Segan.
- 2:10Teagan: What?
- 2:11Teagan: Yeah.
- 2:11Teagan: We got it engraved and everything.
- 2:12Teagan: Wow.
- 2:13Teagan: Meanwhile, that's the last iPod ever.
- 2:18Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 2:18Speaker 00: I still have my iPod, just saying.
- 2:20Speaker 00: Yeah, I got an iPod in college, and I was pretty excited about that.
- 2:24Teagan: An iPod?
- 2:25Teagan: A little, like, clicky square.
- 2:27Teagan: She calls it clicky square.
- 2:30Teagan: The iPod.
- 2:30Teagan: The shuffle.
- 2:31Teagan: You had bigger than the Shuffle, though.
- 2:33Teagan: We had like a phone.
- 2:34Teagan: It was like a phone.
- 2:35Teagan: Yeah, yours was like a phone.
- 2:38Speaker 00: Wait, so your first...
- 2:39Speaker 00: Your first iPod was an iPod Touch.
- 2:41Speaker 00: Yes.
- 2:42Speaker 00: It wasn't like this thing.
- 2:44Teagan: No.
- 2:45Speaker 00: No.
- 2:48Teagan: I've never seen that in my life.
- 2:49Teagan: No, you freaking loser.
- 2:51Speaker 00: Oh, okay.
- 2:51Speaker 00: So I'm thinking like we can relate with having...
- 2:54Speaker 00: We could be iPod buddies, but you...
- 2:59Teagan: I've never seen that in my
- 3:00Speaker 00: life.
- 3:00Speaker 00: Oh, my goodness.
- 3:00Speaker 00: I wish...
- 3:01Speaker 00: I wish I had a charger for it.
- 3:03Speaker 00: I don't even know how to charge it.
- 3:04Speaker 00: Do those chargers
- 3:05Teagan: exist anymore?
- 3:05Speaker 00: So this is a dial, and you would spin it, and it was really cool that it
- 3:09Teagan: would...
- 3:09Teagan: I almost said to you, was it the one with the spinner dial?
- 3:11Speaker 00: It was, yeah, the spinner dial.
- 3:12Speaker 00: No, I was
- 3:13Teagan: thinking of the mini version where there's no screen.
- 3:15Teagan: It's the clicker that's a little square.
- 3:17Teagan: That's what I think of.
- 3:18Teagan: A shuffle.
- 3:18Teagan: Because that's what Mimi had.
- 3:20Teagan: Yes.
- 3:21Teagan: And then...
- 3:22Teagan: That's Joe Hyphen.
- 3:24Teagan: And then we had, like, the phone, but it was iPod Touch.
- 3:28Teagan: Yeah, iPod Touch.
- 3:29Speaker 00: Yeah, so the...
- 3:30Speaker 00: This was like the latest version, too.
- 3:34Speaker 00: It was a color screen.
- 3:35Speaker 00: You were a badass when you got that.
- 3:36Speaker 00: Not that it mattered.
- 3:37Speaker 00: I mean, I was like in my 20s.
- 3:39Speaker 00: You say it was
- 3:39Teagan: colored?
- 3:40Speaker 00: Colored, yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 00: Like the screen?
- 3:41Speaker 00: Like the screen had color.
- 3:42Speaker 00: The original didn't have color.
- 3:43Speaker 00: It was black and white.
- 3:44Speaker 00: Oh, my God.
- 3:45Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 3:49Teagan: That's
- 3:49Speaker 00: amazing.
- 3:50Speaker 00: So this is really fun because this was not planned.
- 3:52Speaker 00: Yeah, I wish it was...
- 3:56Speaker 00: Could be charged.
- 3:58Speaker 00: I don't even know.
- 3:58Speaker 00: I could probably...
- 3:59Speaker 00: Is it the
- 3:59Teagan: long charge at the bottom?
- 4:01Speaker 00: It's like a...
- 4:01Speaker 00: Oh, yeah,
- 4:02Teagan: it's the one that our iPad uses.
- 4:04Teagan: Yeah, that's how old the iPad is.
- 4:06Speaker 00: Okay, yeah, so it's the...
- 4:07Teagan: I bet you we have one at home.
- 4:08Teagan: I'll bring it next time.
- 4:10Speaker 00: The vintage.
- 4:12Teagan: Yeah.
- 4:13Speaker 00: They
- 4:13Teagan: sell them on eBay.
- 4:14Speaker 00: Yeah, my first one was...
- 4:16Speaker 00: This is 160 gigs.
- 4:19Speaker 00: The first one was like...
- 4:22Speaker 00: Yes.
- 4:23Speaker 00: Yes.
- 4:25Speaker 00: Yes.
- 4:29Speaker 00: I just think it's hilarious.
- 4:40Speaker 00: She's talking about an iPod, and I'm like, oh, that's great.
- 4:44Speaker 00: And you're like, oh, cool, she's got an
- 4:45Teagan: iPod?
- 4:45Speaker 00: Like an iPod Touch, that's a whole different ballgame.
- 4:48Teagan: Yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 00: All right, that's number one.
- 4:50Speaker 00: So funny.
- 4:52Speaker 00: That is.
- 4:53Speaker 00: So what else?
- 4:55Speaker 00: Internet?
- 4:57Teagan: Internet, yeah.
- 4:58Teagan: Cell
- 4:58Speaker 00: phones.
- 4:59Speaker 00: Cell phones.
- 5:00Speaker 00: What was the other thing I was thinking?
- 5:03Speaker 00: Like an encyclopedia.
- 5:06Speaker 00: Have you ever used an encyclopedia before?
- 5:08Teagan: Like a dictionary?
- 5:09Teagan: This is going to be so fun.
- 5:13Speaker 00: This really is.
- 5:13Speaker 00: It is like a dictionary.
- 5:15Speaker 00: So they came in like volumes.
- 5:19Speaker 00: You'd have letters like A, B.
- 5:21Speaker 00: You would usually want one volume.
- 5:23Speaker 00: I think S had its own volume.
- 5:24Speaker 00: There were books.
- 5:27Speaker 00: No.
- 5:27Speaker 00: No?
- 5:27Speaker 00: No.
- 5:27Speaker 00: Yeah, and it told you about stuff.
- 5:29Speaker 00: So
- 5:31Teagan: like if you were at school and you were doing a report on...
- 5:34Teagan: I don't
- 5:35Speaker 00: know.
- 5:35Speaker 00: Salamanders.
- 5:36Teagan: Salamanders.
- 5:37Teagan: You would go to the S book and you'd open
- 5:40Speaker 00: it up.
- 5:41Speaker 00: Pull
- 5:41Teagan: that bad boy.
- 5:42Teagan: And you'd look for salamanders kind of like a dictionary.
- 5:45Speaker 00: Like a dictionary.
- 5:45Speaker 00: But it would have a whole like...
- 5:48Teagan: Paragraph of...
- 5:49Speaker 00: A Wikipedia, if you will, on paper.
- 5:52Teagan: I've only...
- 5:52Teagan: I think I've only used that for Spanish class.
- 5:54Teagan: That's probably a Spanish dictionary.
- 5:57Teagan: But no, it had like the...
- 6:01Teagan: Well, she used one of those Spanish encyclopedias.
- 6:08Teagan: No, but how did the multiple volumes you're talking about?
- 6:11Teagan: Was
- 6:12Speaker 00: the second volume in French?
- 6:15Speaker 00: That's
- 6:21Teagan: hilarious.
- 6:22Speaker 00: Yeah, so encyclopedias...
- 6:25Speaker 00: Almost kind of where they got the name Wikipedia, Encyclopedia Wikipedia.
- 6:29Speaker 00: Yes, see?
- 6:29Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 6:29Speaker 00: That's how you did a book report back in the day.
- 6:32Speaker 00: That's awful.
- 6:33Speaker 00: I didn't...
- 6:33Speaker 00: No, it was.
- 6:34Speaker 00: And I didn't use...
- 6:37Speaker 00: I don't remember Google being around at all.
- 6:42Speaker 00: Like, that wasn't a thing.
- 6:43Teagan: You didn't have Google in college?
- 6:46Speaker 00: In college, I think so.
- 6:48Speaker 00: High school, I think we used, like, Yahoo.
- 6:50Teagan: Oh, yeah.
- 6:51Speaker 00: Commercial members.
- 6:51Teagan: Yes.
- 6:52Teagan: Yahoo.
- 6:52Speaker 00: Yes.
- 6:54Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 6:56Teagan: Remember the X Encyclopedia?
- 6:58Teagan: It was like X, Y together, and
- 7:01Speaker 00: it was like all skinny.
- 7:01Speaker 00: It was like W, X, Y, Z.
- 7:03Speaker 00: Yeah, exactly.
- 7:05Speaker 00: Exactly.
- 7:06Speaker 00: But yeah, give you like an overview of whatever you're looking for.
- 7:08Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 7:09Speaker 00: People used to sell them.
- 7:11Speaker 00: They were encyclopedia salesmen.
- 7:13Speaker 00: Yeah, it'd come door to door.
- 7:14Speaker 00: Door to door.
- 7:14Speaker 00: That was before my time.
- 7:15Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 7:17Teagan: I think we probably got a couple encyclopedia salesmen.
- 7:21Unknown: Yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 00: I can almost guarantee my parents still have their encyclopedias.
- 7:24Speaker 00: Okay, so encyclopedias,
- 7:26Teagan: iPods.
- 7:28Teagan: What
- 7:31Speaker 00: else?
- 7:32Teagan: What's another big thing?
- 7:33Teagan: Live TV.
- 7:36Speaker 00: Live TV was, yeah.
- 7:38Teagan: Like, my kids never had live TV.
- 7:40Teagan: We had DVDs and, like...
- 7:42Teagan: Oh, I'm going to sound really young.
- 7:45Teagan: The square ones.
- 7:47Speaker 00: Oh,
- 7:48Teagan: VHS.
- 7:48Teagan: We had those.
- 7:51Teagan: We had DVDs.
- 7:52Teagan: That's what we used mostly, like, growing up.
- 7:55Teagan: We usually watched DVDs.
- 7:56Teagan: And then we had live TV downstairs when Brynn and I woke up at, like, 4 in the morning.
- 8:01Teagan: We'd go downstairs and watch The Lopez Show.
- 8:03Teagan: And then after that, we just had Netflix and, like, all the subscription stuff now.
- 8:08Teagan: But it's like they don't know what it's like to have to run and pee during the commercial.
- 8:14Teagan: Yeah.
- 8:14Teagan: Now I do with Hulu.
- 8:16Teagan: Well, you can pause it, though.
- 8:18Teagan: No, there's still ads.
- 8:20Teagan: Oh, yeah, there's ads now.
- 8:21Teagan: Yeah, there's commercials.
- 8:22Teagan: But you can pause it.
- 8:23Teagan: Oh, yeah.
- 8:24Teagan: Ew, you have ads in your Hulu?
- 8:25Teagan: I'm not rich like you.
- 8:28Teagan: Second job.
- 8:30Teagan: Does your Netflix have ads?
- 8:32Teagan: No.
- 8:33Teagan: Hashtag Hulu sponsor
- 8:36Speaker 00: us.
- 8:36Speaker 00: Please, somebody.
- 8:36Speaker 00: I
- 8:38Teagan: just don't want the ads.
- 8:40Speaker 00: What else do we have?
- 8:40Speaker 00: Commercials.
- 8:41Speaker 00: So yeah, you...
- 8:42Speaker 00: I mean, Hulu commercials aside, your mom and I were talking about just last week, I think, like when we saw a show, because we talked about sitcoms last week.
- 8:54Speaker 00: If you saw a show and it was like a great episode or a great show, you may not see that show again for like a year.
- 9:02Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 9:04Speaker 00: There was nowhere to find it.
- 9:05Speaker 00: YouTube wasn't a thing.
- 9:07Speaker 00: If
- 9:07Teagan: you missed a part...
- 9:08Speaker 00: Oh, yeah.
- 9:09Teagan: That's it.
- 9:09Teagan: You're done.
- 9:10Speaker 00: So I did...
- 9:13Teagan: Oh, good.
- 9:14Speaker 00: I saw...
- 9:15Speaker 00: It's all
- 9:17Teagan: good.
- 9:18Speaker 00: I saw an Instagram video.
- 9:20Speaker 00: I don't watch the TikTok.
- 9:23Teagan: So Instagram reels are just reposted TikToks?
- 9:25Teagan: No, loser.
- 9:30Speaker 00: I was watching an Instagram video.
- 9:32Speaker 00: There was a father...
- 9:35Speaker 00: I think it was a father and his daughter.
- 9:40Teagan: Yeah.
- 9:41Speaker 00: He was giving her names of things and seeing if she can guess what they were.
- 9:46Speaker 00: So I sent it to your mom.
- 9:50Speaker 00: I was like, this is what we need to do with Teagan because I want to see if she can guess what these things are.
- 9:54Speaker 00: Or if you know.
- 9:55Speaker 00: If you know them, that's great.
- 9:56Speaker 00: And I saw your list when you showed me earlier.
- 10:00Teagan: Yeah.
- 10:01Speaker 00: And I saw two right off the bat that we both had.
- 10:04Speaker 00: Pogs.
- 10:07Speaker 00: Do you know what pogs are?
- 10:11Teagan: Like P-O-G?
- 10:13Speaker 00: Yeah, P-O-G.
- 10:15Teagan: She's smart.
- 10:16Teagan: P-O-G, pog.
- 10:18Teagan: All I can think of is like a hog, like a pig.
- 10:21Teagan: Okay.
- 10:23Speaker 00: Or
- 10:24Teagan: like sometimes like pod.
- 10:26Speaker 00: Hold on one second, I'll be right
- 10:28Teagan: back.
- 10:28Teagan: Oh.
- 10:28Teagan: If you grab a pog, I'll smack you in the face.
- 10:31Teagan: Is this your prop?
- 10:31Teagan: Oh my God, I just told your film, isn't it?
- 10:34Teagan: Is it not?
- 10:36Teagan: Can I open it?
- 10:37Teagan: Yeah.
- 10:37Teagan: Am I right?
- 10:38Teagan: Oh,
- 10:39Speaker 00: no, those are pogs.
- 10:40Speaker 00: What
- 10:42Teagan: the hell is
- 10:45Speaker 00: it?
- 10:45Speaker 00: It's a pog.
- 10:46Teagan: Are there more in there?
- 10:47Teagan: Yeah, there's a bunch.
- 10:48Teagan: Can I take it out?
- 10:49Speaker 00: Those are my Simpsons pogs.
- 10:50Speaker 00: Be very careful.
- 10:51Speaker 00: Those were my safe.
- 10:53Teagan: No.
- 10:54Teagan: Oh, my gosh.
- 10:55Speaker 00: So I grabbed those from my parents' house last time.
- 10:58Speaker 00: Well, not last time, but a while back.
- 11:00Speaker 00: I was there just rummaging.
- 11:01Speaker 00: And I was like, oh, my goodness, my pogs.
- 11:04Teagan: Yeah.
- 11:04Speaker 00: So...
- 11:04Speaker 00: My son was like, oh, I need these, so was taking them.
- 11:09Speaker 00: And you were like, don't touch them.
- 11:10Speaker 00: Pretty much.
- 11:11Speaker 00: I gave him all the doubles.
- 11:12Speaker 00: Oh, good one.
- 11:13Speaker 00: That's what I was looking for originally.
- 11:14Teagan: What is it?
- 11:15Speaker 00: It's a pog.
- 11:17Teagan: That's a pog, Teagan.
- 11:18Teagan: Is it just characters and shows?
- 11:21Speaker 00: So those in the 90s, I wish I have a big tube of like the pogs.
- 11:25Speaker 00: So I'll give you a breakdown.
- 11:27Speaker 00: A pog.
- 11:29Teagan: You just keep saying it over and over.
- 11:32Teagan: It's a pog.
- 11:33Teagan: A
- 11:34Speaker 00: pog was, it was game.
- 11:36Speaker 00: It's a
- 11:37Teagan: game?
- 11:38Speaker 00: It's a game.
- 11:38Speaker 00: Oh,
- 11:40Teagan: is it a matching game?
- 11:41Speaker 00: It's not.
- 11:42Teagan: Oh,
- 11:42Speaker 00: you just have two?
- 11:43Speaker 00: It's a listening game.
- 11:44Speaker 00: No, I'm just kidding.
- 11:47Teagan: Like mother, like daughter.
- 11:50Speaker 00: So you would have your pogs.
- 11:52Speaker 00: I'd have my pogs, right?
- 11:53Speaker 00: Mine were fake pogs from the dollar store.
- 11:55Speaker 00: And we'd stack them up in a little stack, right?
- 12:00Speaker 00: And I don't have this with me now, but then you would have what was called a slammer.
- 12:05Speaker 00: And it was a heavy piece of plastic or metal.
- 12:08Speaker 00: You would slam the metal or the slammer on the pile and they'd flip.
- 12:15Speaker 00: If they flipped over a certain way, you took those pogs and the other person would take the other pogs.
- 12:19Teagan: Did you ever get in a pog fight?
- 12:21Speaker 00: Pogs are all about fights.
- 12:22Speaker 00: That was it.
- 12:24Speaker 00: That's the game.
- 12:25Teagan: Because then, see, you would take other people's pogs.
- 12:27Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 12:27Speaker 00: We traded them.
- 12:29Speaker 00: We collected them.
- 12:30Teagan: But I don't get it.
- 12:32Speaker 00: I don't get it either, but they were my life for like a year.
- 12:34Speaker 00: That's all we cared about.
- 12:36Teagan: You flip it over.
- 12:36Teagan: When you hit it, And they all flip over.
- 12:39Teagan: You all go for the same cards?
- 12:41Speaker 00: No, like, you hit it with your slammer.
- 12:44Speaker 00: The ones that flip over, like, a certain way.
- 12:46Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 12:46Speaker 00: I'm actually not remembering.
- 12:48Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 12:49Speaker 00: Like, if they all flipped up a certain way, like, over, you would take those pogs and restack the other ones that didn't flip over.
- 12:54Speaker 00: The next person with them.
- 12:55Teagan: Oh, the next person.
- 12:56Speaker 00: Yeah, then the next person with the pile with their slammer and so on and so forth.
- 13:00Speaker 00: So how
- 13:00Teagan: would you get in fights over it?
- 13:02Teagan: Because you could, like, you could lose your, like, favorite pog.
- 13:07Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 13:08Teagan: Because, like, your pogs are in.
- 13:10Speaker 00: You mix your pogs together.
- 13:11Speaker 00: You mix your pods
- 13:12Teagan: together.
- 13:12Teagan: And so,
- 13:13Speaker 00: like,
- 13:15Teagan: let's say I, and those all fell, and so I got to take some of Will's pogs.
- 13:20Teagan: But realistically, you could have just
- 13:23Speaker 00: kept it, right?
- 13:23Speaker 00: She's
- 13:24Teagan: such a cheater.
- 13:25Speaker 00: Not in the pog game.
- 13:26Teagan: Okay.
- 13:27Speaker 00: You didn't roll with the crew I ran with.
- 13:29Speaker 00: It was serious.
- 13:30Speaker 00: It was like
- 13:31Teagan: Pokemon cards.
- 13:34Speaker 00: Only you didn't have to be, like, intelligent.
- 13:36Speaker 00: Kind of like a...
- 13:38Speaker 00: You just took your circles and you called it
- 13:41Teagan: a day.
- 13:42Teagan: It
- 13:42Speaker 00: was really...
- 13:43Speaker 00: But in the same way as Pokemon cards, it was a collector's set.
- 13:47Speaker 00: Like, we collected them.
- 13:48Speaker 00: But
- 13:49Teagan: there were fancy Pogs, right?
- 13:51Speaker 00: There were fancy Pogs.
- 13:51Speaker 00: There were all different kinds.
- 13:53Speaker 00: There were funny Pogs.
- 13:54Speaker 00: Fancy.
- 13:55Speaker 00: I think that's an actual Pog container.
- 13:58Speaker 00: So it probably says Pog.
- 14:00Teagan: And you're right.
- 14:01Teagan: It looks similar to a...
- 14:03Teagan: I've got to put the readers on,
- 14:06Speaker 00: Will.
- 14:06Speaker 00: Put the readers on.
- 14:08Speaker 00: It was created from, if I remember correctly, it was a Hawaiian milk caps.
- 14:14Speaker 00: Whoever invented them, they got them from milk caps, I think, and they started the game.
- 14:20Speaker 00: This is
- 14:21Teagan: R-O-H-K-S.
- 14:24Teagan: That's what I thought.
- 14:25Teagan: I thought I was
- 14:26Speaker 00: wrong.
- 14:26Speaker 00: Oh, then I don't know.
- 14:27Speaker 00: It was probably a...
- 14:28Speaker 00: Just a holder that I bought.
- 14:32Teagan: Don't lose his pogs.
- 14:33Speaker 00: Those are official Simpsons pogs.
- 14:35Speaker 00: Those are the real deal, my friend.
- 14:38Teagan: Not your dollar store
- 14:40Speaker 00: ones?
- 14:40Speaker 00: Not my dollar store ones.
- 14:41Teagan: Where are those?
- 14:42Teagan: Gone?
- 14:43Speaker 00: They're at my parents' somewhere.
- 14:45Speaker 00: I can find them.
- 14:45Speaker 00: Did you
- 14:46Teagan: buy them at Jarek's ever?
- 14:47Speaker 00: Oh, that was a big hog place.
- 14:49Speaker 00: How long
- 14:49Teagan: has Jarek's been around?
- 14:50Teagan: Oh, forever.
- 14:51Speaker 00: That was like my favorite place growing up.
- 14:53Teagan: It's been the same owner, too.
- 14:54Speaker 00: Yeah?
- 14:55Unknown: Yeah.
- 14:56Speaker 00: Yeah, I'd always leave there with something awesome.
- 14:58Teagan: Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 00: But yeah, those were pogs.
- 15:00Speaker 00: That was the first one.
- 15:01Speaker 00: Good times.
- 15:04Speaker 00: It was literally just a thing in the 90s.
- 15:06Speaker 00: We enjoyed them.
- 15:07Speaker 00: It was...
- 15:08Teagan: As a teacher, because I started teaching in 99, so they were still around.
- 15:15Teagan: They were still around, still holding on.
- 15:17Teagan: It was like my desk was full of them for a while there.
- 15:20Speaker 00: Yeah, so pogs.
- 15:23Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 15:25Teagan: What's the other one you had, same as me?
- 15:26Teagan: I think I probably know.
- 15:29Speaker 00: Tamagotchi.
- 15:29Speaker 00: Tamagotchi.
- 15:30Speaker 00: I
- 15:31Teagan: know those.
- 15:31Teagan: You know those?
- 15:32Teagan: I know those.
- 15:32Teagan: Young Sheldon also.
- 15:33Teagan: Oh.
- 15:34Teagan: Damn that kid.
- 15:36Speaker 00: Yeah, right?
- 15:37Teagan: I've only watched the first season.
- 15:38Teagan: Wow.
- 15:39Speaker 00: Apparently that's the criminal.
- 15:40Speaker 00: It's like the little animal that you keep
- 15:41Teagan: alive and you don't feed it enough or at the right time it dies.
- 15:45Teagan: Yeah.
- 15:45Teagan: So does it actually die or can you get a new animal after?
- 15:49Teagan: Yeah.
- 15:51Speaker 00: You can restart it, I think.
- 15:52Speaker 00: Yeah, I think you, like,
- 15:53Teagan: reset it.
- 15:54Speaker 00: But there was, like, a time where it'd be like, oh, I need you to watch my Tamagotchi.
- 15:59Teagan: Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 00: Like, people would ask you, like, hey, I need you to watch my Tamagotchi for me.
- 16:03Speaker 00: My pet.
- 16:04Speaker 00: And keep it alive.
- 16:05Teagan: Tamagotchi apps now.
- 16:07Speaker 00: Is there?
- 16:08Teagan: That you can add as a widget on your phone.
- 16:10Speaker 00: Huh.
- 16:10Speaker 00: I have a three-year-old Tamagotchi.
- 16:14Speaker 00: I'm doing all right with that one.
- 16:16Teagan: We didn't have reminders with
- 16:17Speaker 00: our Tamagotchis.
- 16:18Speaker 00: That's right.
- 16:18Speaker 00: We
- 16:19Teagan: didn't have no app.
- 16:20Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 16:21Speaker 00: We had to look in the encyclopedia and see how to keep it alive.
- 16:24Speaker 00: No, the Tamagotchi
- 16:24Teagan: is on your phone, not like an app to remind you.
- 16:26Teagan: Like it's a quote-unquote game.
- 16:29Speaker 00: Interesting.
- 16:31Teagan: Okay.
- 16:32Speaker 00: Well, you should get one.
- 16:34Speaker 00: Let us know how it goes.
- 16:35Speaker 00: Keep us posted.
- 16:36Teagan: Oh, good one.
- 16:39Speaker 00: How about if I...
- 16:40Speaker 00: tell you to make a collect call?
- 16:46Teagan: I've heard of it.
- 16:46Teagan: I don't know.
- 16:49Speaker 00: Okay.
- 16:49Speaker 00: Collect call was when phone calls cost money.
- 16:53Speaker 00: Oh,
- 16:55Teagan: yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 00: Or like if you used a pay phone, you could make a collect call and you could call your parents and an operator would come on and would say, do you accept the call from?
- 17:06Speaker 00: And then you'd be like, well, and they'd be like, yes, I accept.
- 17:10Speaker 00: And then you could complete the phone call.
- 17:12Teagan: So then it would be on their like phone bill because you didn't have a quarter to put in the phone or a dime.
- 17:18Speaker 00: So the way we used collect calls were.
- 17:20Teagan: Yes, this was great.
- 17:21Speaker 00: Do you accept a collect call for a mom?
- 17:23Speaker 00: Pick me up.
- 17:23Teagan: Yep.
- 17:24Speaker 00: And that's how my parents knew to come pick me up from wherever I was.
- 17:27Speaker 00: So like when we would go to
- 17:28Teagan: the mall, there was like a ring of pay phones.
- 17:33Speaker 00: Pay phone bank.
- 17:34Teagan: Yeah.
- 17:34Teagan: At the entrance of the mall.
- 17:36Teagan: And when it was time for your mom to pick you up.
- 17:40Teagan: That's what you would do.
- 17:41Teagan: I'd be like, pick me up by Filene's.
- 17:46Teagan: And then so my mom, do you accept Filene's?
- 17:52Teagan: Do you accept the collect call from pick me up from Filene's?
- 17:56Teagan: Although I think it was G Fox at the time.
- 17:58Speaker 00: There was a commercial.
- 18:00Speaker 00: It was 1-800-COLLECT was what you dialed.
- 18:04Speaker 00: So they advertised it.
- 18:06Speaker 00: There's an advertisement where there's an old guy sitting there.
- 18:09Speaker 00: He picks up, and they're like, what call from?
- 18:11Speaker 00: And the guy goes, Bob, we had a baby.
- 18:12Speaker 00: It's a boy.
- 18:13Speaker 00: And the guy hangs up, and the wife's like, who was that?
- 18:18Speaker 00: And he's like, oh, Bob, they had a baby.
- 18:19Speaker 00: It's a boy.
- 18:21Teagan: I do remember that.
- 18:22Speaker 00: That's what I was saying earlier when I was like, Bob, we had a baby.
- 18:25Speaker 00: It's a boy.
- 18:25Speaker 00: Yes.
- 18:26Teagan: Oh, my gosh.
- 18:26Teagan: That's so funny.
- 18:27Speaker 00: So that's how everybody used these.
- 18:29Speaker 00: So even 1-800-COLLECT knew.
- 18:31Speaker 00: How it was used.
- 18:32Speaker 00: Yeah, totally.
- 18:34Speaker 00: And abused.
- 18:34Teagan: So then you get it.
- 18:35Teagan: So then your parent would say like, no, I don't accept the charges.
- 18:39Teagan: Yeah.
- 18:40Teagan: Because they got the message.
- 18:41Teagan: Yeah.
- 18:42Teagan: Yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 00: It's pretty great.
- 18:42Speaker 00: This is going to come back to us.
- 18:44Speaker 00: Yeah, it is.
- 18:45Speaker 00: We're going to get back charged for all that.
- 18:47Speaker 00: I know.
- 18:48Speaker 00: That and Columbia House are going to come after
- 18:51Teagan: us.
- 18:51Teagan: How about Columbia House?
- 18:53Teagan: I don't have that written down.
- 18:54Teagan: Oh, yeah.
- 18:55Teagan: Is it like coffee?
- 18:58Speaker 00: Coffee?
- 18:58Speaker 00: Is it not coffee?
- 18:59Speaker 00: It's a good guess.
- 19:00Speaker 00: I
- 19:00Teagan: could hear that.
- 19:01Speaker 00: Your
- 19:02Teagan: dad used Columbia House.
- 19:04Teagan: I don't know what it is.
- 19:06Teagan: I thought it was coffee.
- 19:08Speaker 00: That's a good guess.
- 19:08Speaker 00: I know, it is.
- 19:09Speaker 00: Columbia House.
- 19:10Speaker 00: You
- 19:12Teagan: would mail in a penny.
- 19:14Speaker 00: And they would mail you 12 CDs or tapes.
- 19:18Teagan: Or tapes.
- 19:19Teagan: In my case, the Gen X-er.
- 19:22Speaker 00: Because you joined Columbia House.
- 19:24Teagan: So then you joined, it was like a club, if you will.
- 19:29Teagan: And you would have this list of either tapes or CDs that you could buy.
- 19:39Teagan: And you could pick 12, and you mail them a penny, and they come six to eight months later.
- 19:47Teagan: And then...
- 19:49Teagan: Just a penny?
- 19:51Teagan: Yes, a penny.
- 19:52Teagan: But the trick was you then were, like, married to them, and you had to buy, like, what?
- 20:00Speaker 00: They would send you a random.
- 20:01Speaker 00: One a month.
- 20:01Speaker 00: If you didn't pick one, they would send you a random CD.
- 20:03Speaker 00: But it was,
- 20:04Teagan: like, obnoxiously expensive.
- 20:06Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 20:06Teagan: Right?
- 20:07Teagan: It was, like, at the time, I remember, like, $18.
- 20:09Teagan: Yeah,
- 20:10Speaker 00: I remember it was, like, $20.
- 20:11Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 20:12Speaker 00: I got, like, an Atari CD, and I was like, I don't want
- 20:15Teagan: it.
- 20:15Teagan: Yes.
- 20:15Teagan: Yes.
- 20:16Speaker 00: All right, my next one for you is Gak.
- 20:22Teagan: Yes.
- 20:22Teagan: Gak.
- 20:24Teagan: Like yak.
- 20:28Speaker 00: Like a yak, but with a G.
- 20:30Speaker 00: Gak.
- 20:31Teagan: Gak.
- 20:31Teagan: I don't know.
- 20:32Teagan: Like something's gross.
- 20:33Teagan: I don't know.
- 20:36Teagan: Is it something or is it like you're saying something?
- 20:38Teagan: It's a thing.
- 20:39Teagan: You buy Gak.
- 20:40Teagan: I don't know.
- 20:42Teagan: Make a guess.
- 20:44Teagan: I feel like it's something...
- 20:46Teagan: I don't know what you would buy.
- 20:47Teagan: I feel like it's something you would say like that's gross.
- 20:49Teagan: Like...
- 20:49Teagan: Gak.
- 20:50Speaker 00: Yeah, like that.
- 20:51Speaker 00: That's so Gak.
- 20:52Speaker 00: You're so Gak.
- 20:53Speaker 00: I don't know.
- 20:54Speaker 00: What is it?
- 20:54Speaker 00: Stop trying to make Gak a thing.
- 20:55Speaker 00: Yeah, yeah, like that.
- 20:59Speaker 00: It was basically slime.
- 21:00Speaker 00: It was Nickelodeon Gak.
- 21:02Speaker 00: Nickelodeon had these things.
- 21:05Speaker 00: So they had Gak and they had Floam.
- 21:07Speaker 00: Floam was like...
- 21:10Teagan: Foam?
- 21:11Speaker 00: It was like foam slash styrofoam.
- 21:14Speaker 00: It had like little beads.
- 21:16Teagan: Almost like Bobbity.
- 21:19Teagan: Slime, but they were tiny.
- 21:20Teagan: Slime?
- 21:21Speaker 00: But it was more of like a foamy kind of like, almost like kinetic sand in a way, where you could like make shapes out of it and stuff.
- 21:29Speaker 00: Oh,
- 21:31Teagan: yes.
- 21:31Teagan: I know what you're talking about.
- 21:32Teagan: There was, what's it called?
- 21:34Teagan: It's like...
- 21:34Teagan: I know which one you're talking about.
- 21:36Teagan: I know what you're talking about.
- 21:37Teagan: I forget the name for it, though.
- 21:38Speaker 00: Like, they had a bunch of, like, spin-offs of it, whatever you would call them.
- 21:43Speaker 00: So I'm sure they still have it around now.
- 21:45Speaker 00: I know what you're talking
- 21:46Teagan: about.
- 21:46Teagan: The little styrofoam balls.
- 21:47Teagan: Yeah.
- 21:48Teagan: And it was, like, it stuck together.
- 21:50Teagan: I know exactly what you're talking about, but I don't know the name of
- 21:52Speaker 00: it.
- 21:52Speaker 00: So it was Nickelodeon.
- 21:54Speaker 00: That was part of their toy line.
- 21:55Speaker 00: It was called Floam, and it was, like, really cool when it came out.
- 21:59Speaker 00: I remember...
- 21:59Speaker 00: making things with it, and it was like, sculpt things.
- 22:05Speaker 00: I don't know.
- 22:05Speaker 00: So, Floam, Greg.
- 22:07Speaker 00: That
- 22:08Teagan: stuff, Rachel used to add to her slime.
- 22:10Teagan: That's the stuff that you add to slime.
- 22:12Teagan: That's the kind of stuff, like kinetic stands, that, whatever the...
- 22:15Teagan: Gak.
- 22:17Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 22:18Speaker 00: So I was going to say, so you could like add phloem to Gak and really make a mess.
- 22:22Speaker 00: Yeah, you could.
- 22:23Speaker 00: Something awesome.
- 22:24Speaker 00: Nice.
- 22:25Speaker 00: All right.
- 22:26Speaker 00: So that was a good guess because it is something gross in a way.
- 22:28Speaker 00: It's slime.
- 22:29Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 22:31Speaker 00: How about, and this is still around, so you may know it.
- 22:35Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 22:36Speaker 00: Bop it.
- 22:37Unknown: Yeah.
- 22:37Teagan: Bop It! I've never played with one, but I know what it is.
- 22:40Teagan: I remember it from Gilmore Girls.
- 22:43Teagan: Yeah.
- 22:43Teagan: During the Bad Date episode of Luke and Lorelai, and then when Rory and Dean got back together, they whipped out the Bop It.
- 22:49Teagan: Yeah, and it got nasty.
- 22:50Teagan: Yeah.
- 22:51Teagan: Dean and Luke got in a fight over it.
- 22:55Teagan: Yeah.
- 22:55Speaker 00: Bop It was fun.
- 22:56Speaker 00: It was 90s Simon.
- 22:59Teagan: Bop It.
- 22:59Teagan: Pretty much, right?
- 23:00Teagan: It was like the same thing.
- 23:02Teagan: They made it a little bit more active.
- 23:03Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 23:03Speaker 00: Did you ever play Simon with the lights?
- 23:05Speaker 00: No.
- 23:07Teagan: No.
- 23:08Speaker 00: That was an 80s thing.
- 23:09Teagan: That was 80s.
- 23:10Teagan: I loved Simon.
- 23:11Teagan: Like Simon Says?
- 23:12Speaker 00: It was called Simon, and it was...
- 23:14Speaker 00: Because it was
- 23:14Teagan: kind of like Simon
- 23:15Speaker 00: Says.
- 23:16Speaker 00: Yeah, it was just four...
- 23:17Speaker 00: It was a round thing.
- 23:20Speaker 00: Eh,
- 23:20Teagan: it's a little bigger than that.
- 23:21Teagan: Oh, okay.
- 23:26Speaker 00: Let everyone know I'm widening my fictitious circle.
- 23:32Speaker 00: There were four colored buttons, so it was like yellow, red, green, blue.
- 23:35Speaker 00: And it would...
- 23:36Speaker 00: So basic, as the kids would say 10 years ago.
- 23:41Speaker 00: Like one would light up and it would go beep and light up and you'd hit it and then it would go beep, beep.
- 23:48Speaker 00: So you'd follow the pattern.
- 23:50Teagan: Yeah.
- 23:50Speaker 00: And it eventually got really hard because you'd have to remember.
- 23:52Teagan: Yeah.
- 23:53Teagan: One of Claire had that.
- 23:56Teagan: Oh, did she?
- 23:58Teagan: Yeah.
- 23:58Teagan: I remember playing that with Brandon.
- 23:59Teagan: Yeah.
- 24:00Speaker 00: Clint and Brandon.
- 24:01Speaker 00: They get us.
- 24:02Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 24:02Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 24:02Speaker 00: Every time.
- 24:03Speaker 00: 90s kids at heart.
- 24:05Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 24:05Speaker 00: 80s kids at heart.
- 24:06Teagan: Yeah.
- 24:08Teagan: Why would I need a penny saver?
- 24:15Speaker 00: Oh, penny saver.
- 24:16Teagan: Yeah.
- 24:16Teagan: Good one, right?
- 24:17Teagan: Like a piggy bank?
- 24:18Teagan: No.
- 24:20Unknown: No.
- 24:21Teagan: Penny saver?
- 24:22Teagan: To buy the things you were talking about?
- 24:26Speaker 00: Pogs?
- 24:26Speaker 00: To buy our CDs.
- 24:31Teagan: The penny saver was like a little magazine that would have ads in it and people would sell things and if you were looking for something, you could put an ad in it and you would check the penny saver.
- 24:47Teagan: it
- 24:48Speaker 00: was craigslist on paper
- 24:49Teagan: craigslist craigslist
- 24:52Speaker 00: i didn't find it it popped in my head oh you're so
- 24:55Teagan: smart
- 24:55Speaker 00: um
- 24:56Teagan: it would come um in your mailbox right penny saver
- 25:00Speaker 00: yeah
- 25:00Teagan: so oh it wasn't actual pennies no oh you mean it's like you're actually saving pennies when you left the like the grocery store
- 25:07Speaker 00: yes it was like in the yes with the auto trader yeah and like
- 25:11Teagan: you have it at your store like when you leave there's like oh all the displays yeah yeah yeah you you could grab a penny saver and you'll be like, oh, I'm looking for like, I don't know, a car.
- 25:23Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 25:24Speaker 00: An engine for an 82 Honda or a job.
- 25:27Teagan: Either one.
- 25:28Teagan: Or a wife.
- 25:29Teagan: Or a wife.
- 25:30Teagan: So essentially Facebook marketplace, but on paper.
- 25:32Speaker 00: That's exactly what it is.
- 25:32Speaker 00: I bought my first drum set from the penny saver.
- 25:34Speaker 00: Oh, did you?
- 25:35Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 25:35Speaker 00: I specifically remember my mom finding it and being like, oh.
- 25:38Speaker 00: So
- 25:38Teagan: basically everything you guys talk about goes online.
- 25:40Teagan: Yeah.
- 25:42Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 25:43Teagan: Yeah.
- 25:44Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 25:44Speaker 00: Again, the internet wasn't like a thing.
- 25:46Speaker 00: It
- 25:46Teagan: wasn't a thing.
- 25:47Teagan: Um, my favorite.
- 25:49Teagan: Okay.
- 25:49Teagan: So, um, her dad and I went to Oneonta together and I have a visual of sitting in like the, um, the union it was called.
- 26:02Teagan: And we were waiting for him to eat, to go get food and he was taking forever.
- 26:07Teagan: And we're like, where's, where is he?
- 26:09Teagan: You know?
- 26:10Teagan: And he came back and he was like, guys, I was in the computer lab and I was like surfing the web.
- 26:21Teagan: And we're like, what?
- 26:23Teagan: He's like, yeah.
- 26:25Teagan: And it was like his first time surfing the web and he found out what it was.
- 26:30Teagan: But like Googling stuff?
- 26:34Speaker 00: Just being on the internet.
- 26:36Teagan: Yeah.
- 26:36Teagan: I guess maybe he would kind of Google stuff.
- 26:40Teagan: Although at the time...
- 26:42Teagan: Clarify surfing the web.
- 26:43Teagan: Huh?
- 26:43Teagan: Clarify surfing the web.
- 26:45Teagan: Looking for...
- 26:45Teagan: Yeah, looking stuff up.
- 26:48Speaker 00: So if I remember correctly, we used to look everything up through AOL?
- 26:52Teagan: Was that...
- 26:53Teagan: Or was it Yahoo?
- 26:56Speaker 00: Yeah, there was Yahoo.
- 26:57Teagan: Because AOL you had to subscribe to.
- 26:59Teagan: Like, I never had AOL.
- 27:01Speaker 00: Basically, your dad was late because he was like, I just found endless boobs.
- 27:05Speaker 00: Oh,
- 27:07Teagan: he knows daddy.
- 27:08Teagan: Yeah.
- 27:12Speaker 00: Yeah, I remember when we...
- 27:13Speaker 00: So I was in middle school.
- 27:15Speaker 00: I think I was like eighth grade when they brought in like computers and like the web and stuff like
- 27:20Teagan: that.
- 27:21Speaker 00: And there was...
- 27:23Speaker 00: Wait,
- 27:23Teagan: how far apart are you guys?
- 27:24Speaker 00: Eight years.
- 27:25Speaker 00: Eight years.
- 27:26Speaker 00: So they didn't have any like...
- 27:30Speaker 00: You could search anything.
- 27:34Speaker 00: There was no, like...
- 27:34Teagan: Oh, there were no filters?
- 27:35Speaker 00: There were no filters.
- 27:36Speaker 00: There was no locks.
- 27:37Speaker 00: Like, I remember a lot of people getting in trouble.
- 27:39Speaker 00: Oh,
- 27:40Teagan: that's so
- 27:40Speaker 00: funny.
- 27:42Teagan: But after Daddy came back, we went and we got our lunch, and I was eating a Dannon yogurt.
- 27:47Teagan: And I looked at the side of it, and I was like, www.dannon.com.
- 27:54Teagan: I was like, oh my gosh, is this what you're talking about?
- 27:57Teagan: He was like, yeah, that's a website.
- 28:00Teagan: Shut up.
- 28:01Speaker 00: That was the other thing is I remember when commercials started putting websites on the bottom of the screen.
- 28:08Teagan: Yes.
- 28:09Speaker 00: And I specifically remember my parents being like, what is
- 28:12Teagan: that?
- 28:13Teagan: Yes.
- 28:13Teagan: Because it was like, it took a bit.
- 28:17Teagan: for it to catch
- 28:19Speaker 00: on.
- 28:19Speaker 00: Because you did.
- 28:20Speaker 00: You had to go in and you would type into the web browser, www.whatever the website was.
- 28:25Speaker 00: I feel like I'll
- 28:26Teagan: never hear that on radio.
- 28:28Teagan: I feel like I've never seen that on commercials.
- 28:30Teagan: www?
- 28:31Teagan: Yeah.
- 28:31Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 28:32Speaker 00: Because now you just Google it.
- 28:33Teagan: Yeah.
- 28:34Speaker 00: Just
- 28:35Teagan: look it up.
- 28:36Speaker 00: Just look it
- 28:36Teagan: up.
- 28:36Teagan: You just look it up.
- 28:38Speaker 00: Honestly, just say it loud enough, your phone
- 28:40Teagan: will bring it up at some point.
- 28:42Teagan: Or just think it.
- 28:44Teagan: It will give you.
- 28:45Teagan: I know.
- 28:48Speaker 00: How about, this is probably still around, maybe, I don't know, Furby?
- 28:53Teagan: I love Furbies! Okay, you know Furbies.
- 28:55Teagan: Dad used to call me Furby in college.
- 28:57Teagan: Okay, so, I don't know if we had...
- 29:00Teagan: We're just
- 29:03Speaker 00: going to breeze over that.
- 29:06Teagan: Now I'm hearing what you said.
- 29:07Teagan: I don't know if we had, like, the real Furbies, but we had, like, I think they were, like, the upgraded versions of Furbies.
- 29:17Teagan: And when me and Brynn got them for Christmas, we got the Furbies, like, we had multiple of them, but there were also, like, different, like, quote-unquote series of Furbies.
- 29:29Teagan: Okay.
- 29:30Teagan: So they had, like, the mouse that would run around the house.
- 29:33Teagan: Huh.
- 29:34Teagan: So we had that.
- 29:35Teagan: I completely forgot about that.
- 29:37Teagan: Yeah, those were also, like, the Furbies, like, brand, I think.
- 29:41Teagan: There was multiple stuff that was Furby's brand, but not specifically.
- 29:45Teagan: I know at Furby's you're talking about the blinking eyes and stuff.
- 29:48Speaker 00: The freaky things.
- 29:50Teagan: That one movie.
- 29:51Teagan: Gremlins?
- 29:53Teagan: I don't know.
- 29:53Teagan: It's like a monster.
- 29:55Teagan: There's multiple of them.
- 29:56Teagan: Yeah, Gremlins.
- 29:57Teagan: So we had Furby's, but we also had the other Furby's products.
- 30:04Teagan: I totally forgot about the little mouse.
- 30:06Teagan: We had the mouse, and then we had...
- 30:07Teagan: There was something else, but I really remember the mouse running around the house.
- 30:11Teagan: Yeah.
- 30:13Speaker 00: You might have just had rodents.
- 30:14Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 30:18Speaker 00: Look at that.
- 30:19Speaker 00: We're unlocking family memories.
- 30:21Speaker 00: This is nice.
- 30:22Speaker 00: Don't
- 30:22Teagan: tell
- 30:23Speaker 00: the whole world.
- 30:23Speaker 00: This is another one a lot of people know.
- 30:28Speaker 00: If I told you GoldenEye.
- 30:30Teagan: All I think of is Michael Scott.
- 30:35Unknown: Yeah.
- 30:35Teagan: We're so proud.
- 30:37Speaker 00: As you should be.
- 30:38Speaker 00: If I told you my friends and I were going to play Goldeneye.
- 30:41Teagan: No
- 30:43Speaker 00: clue.
- 30:43Speaker 00: Oh my goodness, okay.
- 30:45Speaker 00: I don't know
- 30:46Teagan: Goldeneye.
- 30:46Speaker 00: Okay, that's kind of what I figured.
- 30:48Teagan: Yeah.
- 30:49Speaker 00: Goldeneye was the greatest video game ever made for Nintendo 64.
- 30:54Speaker 00: Do you know what a Nintendo 64 is?
- 30:57Teagan: I know what a Nintendo is.
- 30:59Speaker 00: Not a 64?
- 31:00Teagan: No.
- 31:00Teagan: Do
- 31:02Speaker 00: I have to go leave the room again?
- 31:03Speaker 00: Because I have one downstairs.
- 31:04Speaker 00: Do you have one in your safe?
- 31:05Speaker 00: I have one downstairs.
- 31:08Speaker 00: Nintendo 64 came out in 1996.
- 31:11Speaker 00: It was like the greatest video game console system ever made.
- 31:15Speaker 00: So Goldeneye was...
- 31:17Speaker 00: So an
- 31:17Teagan: Xbox?
- 31:17Speaker 00: What's that?
- 31:18Teagan: So an Xbox?
- 31:19Speaker 00: No.
- 31:19Speaker 00: It was a Nintendo.
- 31:24Speaker 00: It was a cartridge game.
- 31:25Speaker 00: Blowing a cartridge.
- 31:27Speaker 00: No?
- 31:27Teagan: No.
- 31:28Teagan: Really?
- 31:29Teagan: No.
- 31:31Speaker 00: I really might have to go downstairs and grab you some Nintendo games.
- 31:33Speaker 00: What do you
- 31:33Teagan: mean cartridge?
- 31:36Speaker 00: Oh my goodness.
- 31:36Speaker 00: All right, hold on.
- 31:38Teagan: Nintendo?
- 31:39Speaker 00: What do we start with here?
- 31:40Teagan: This is great.
- 31:41Teagan: Nintendo cartridge.
- 31:44Speaker 00: This is a Nintendo 64.
- 31:45Speaker 00: Oh
- 31:45Teagan: my God.
- 31:47Speaker 00: The greatest console ever made,
- 31:51Teagan: okay?
- 31:51Teagan: You know that looks fancy to me, right?
- 31:54Speaker 00: I'm sure, because it's not Atari.
- 31:56Speaker 00: Because
- 31:56Teagan: it's not Atari.
- 31:57Teagan: That's exactly right.
- 31:58Teagan: It's Atari.
- 31:59Speaker 00: This is a Nintendo 64 controller.
- 32:02Teagan: That looks like a whole spaceship.
- 32:07Speaker 00: So it's
- 32:08Teagan: just, Xbox just copied Nintendo.
- 32:10Speaker 00: Essentially.
- 32:11Speaker 00: There's a second joystick on Xbox, right?
- 32:16Speaker 00: There's two joysticks?
- 32:17Teagan: Yes, yeah.
- 32:18Teagan: Over here, yeah.
- 32:21Speaker 00: I don't know if there's any games in here, actually.
- 32:22Speaker 00: I don't know.
- 32:23Teagan: What the hell is that?
- 32:24Teagan: Is that the charger?
- 32:24Teagan: The what?
- 32:26Teagan: Charger.
- 32:29Speaker 00: No, so you don't charge it.
- 32:31Speaker 00: It has to stay connected to the system.
- 32:34Speaker 00: So
- 32:34Teagan: what's
- 32:35Speaker 00: that?
- 32:35Speaker 00: That's where you put a memory card or a rumble pack.
- 32:37Speaker 00: The rumble pack made it
- 32:41Teagan: vibrate.
- 32:41Teagan: Oh, yes.
- 32:41Teagan: What?
- 32:43Teagan: Like, let's say you're playing, like, a motorcycle game or something.
- 32:46Teagan: It's like a zzz.
- 32:47Teagan: Yes, exactly.
- 32:49Teagan: Oh, you do have a game.
- 32:50Speaker 00: This is a Nintendo 64 game.
- 32:52Speaker 00: So it came in a cartridge.
- 32:56Teagan: So that was like DSs, just DSs were smaller.
- 33:00Speaker 00: Essentially, yeah.
- 33:02Teagan: Because they had the little cards that you put in for the games.
- 33:04Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 33:04Speaker 00: So what happened is you'd go to start the game and it wouldn't work and you...
- 33:08Speaker 00: You blow on it.
- 33:10Teagan: Oh, and it worked.
- 33:11Speaker 00: And it worked.
- 33:11Speaker 00: And I think it says somewhere in here, do not blow on
- 33:14Teagan: it.
- 33:14Teagan: Oh, that's hilarious.
- 33:15Speaker 00: Do not blow on the edge connector or touch with your fingers.
- 33:19Speaker 00: So that was the second thing you did if it didn't work.
- 33:21Speaker 00: You would touch it with your
- 33:24Teagan: fingers.
- 33:24Speaker 00: But, yeah, so this is how you got it.
- 33:26Speaker 00: This is the game.
- 33:26Speaker 00: And stick that bad boy in there.
- 33:31Teagan: You could also rent games.
- 33:33Speaker 00: You could rent games.
- 33:34Teagan: Like Redbox?
- 33:35Unknown: Yeah.
- 33:36Teagan: Yeah.
- 33:36Teagan: Kind of.
- 33:38Speaker 00: Only
- 33:38Teagan: a store.
- 33:39Teagan: But at the store.
- 33:42Teagan: Yeah.
- 33:42Teagan: It's like with the video store I worked at.
- 33:44Teagan: You could go in and you could rent these video games.
- 33:48Teagan: Radio Shack?
- 33:48Teagan: No.
- 33:50Teagan: You're thinking Blockbuster.
- 33:52Teagan: Radio Shack is like...
- 33:55Speaker 00: So this was Sega Genesis.
- 33:56Speaker 00: This was before...
- 33:57Speaker 00: Sega.
- 33:58Speaker 00: That was before Nintendo 64.
- 34:01Speaker 00: It looks
- 34:01Teagan: like one of those mouse pads that he put on your
- 34:04Speaker 00: head.
- 34:04Speaker 00: Like an ergonomically correct mouse
- 34:07Teagan: pad.
- 34:07Teagan: That was filled with gel.
- 34:08Teagan: How do you use it?
- 34:11Teagan: You
- 34:12Speaker 00: press the buttons.
- 34:13Speaker 00: So you had the directions on the left.
- 34:17Speaker 00: That was the D-pad.
- 34:18Speaker 00: And then you had
- 34:20Teagan: the
- 34:21Speaker 00: buttons.
- 34:22Speaker 00: This was so advanced because there's three buttons as opposed to two.
- 34:26Speaker 00: Nintendo had two buttons.
- 34:28Teagan: Yeah, I see them.
- 34:30Teagan: One, two, three.
- 34:31Teagan: Actually, it's A, B, C.
- 34:33Teagan: Come on
- 34:34Speaker 00: now.
- 34:35Speaker 00: Get it together.
- 34:36Teagan: Sorry.
- 34:36Speaker 00: So, Goldeneye was a first-person shooter game.
- 34:44Speaker 00: So you know what that means, right?
- 34:46Speaker 00: You see the gun?
- 34:47Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 34:47Speaker 00: So it was...
- 34:49Speaker 00: It was a, so you could play multiplayer up to four people.
- 34:54Speaker 00: It was a split screen.
- 34:55Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 34:56Speaker 00: So, um, you know, we played on like a 13 inch screen four ways.
- 35:02Speaker 00: Um, do you have your
- 35:05Teagan: own part of the screen?
- 35:07Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 35:07Speaker 00: So each person has their little
- 35:09Teagan: Brynn and I do it on Minecraft.
- 35:10Teagan: Oh, how it's what we do it too.
- 35:13Teagan: So it's top and bottom.
- 35:14Teagan: So it's like that.
- 35:15Speaker 00: And then you'd get mad at the other person for looking at your screen.
- 35:18Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 35:18Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 35:20Speaker 00: They
- 35:20Teagan: can't look at your screen?
- 35:21Speaker 00: Well, not if you're playing fair.
- 35:24Teagan: But it's the same TV.
- 35:26Teagan: Yeah,
- 35:27Speaker 00: but you're supposed to look at your designated screen.
- 35:29Teagan: Because then you can't look.
- 35:30Teagan: It'll cheat.
- 35:31Speaker 00: It'll cheat.
- 35:31Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 35:32Speaker 00: Hours upon hours.
- 35:36Teagan: Minecraft and...
- 35:37Teagan: No, I played Q-Bert.
- 35:39Speaker 00: Q-Bert was good.
- 35:40Speaker 00: So anyway, best game ever.
- 35:42Speaker 00: A lot of fistfights in my basement over that game.
- 35:44Speaker 00: That's great.
- 35:45Speaker 00: That was a 20-minute segment.
- 35:48Unknown: Yeah.
- 35:48Speaker 00: I do love this interview thing, though.
- 35:50Speaker 00: I
- 35:51Teagan: know.
- 35:51Teagan: I know.
- 35:52Teagan: You'll make something out of it.
- 35:55Speaker 00: Yeah, we'll make it
- 35:56Teagan: work.
- 35:56Teagan: What about Entertainment Book?
- 36:00Teagan: Right?
- 36:02Teagan: Entertainment Book?
- 36:05Speaker 00: Special K was big on the Entertainment Book.
- 36:07Speaker 00: Was she?
- 36:07Speaker 00: Is that not
- 36:07Teagan: serial?
- 36:08Teagan: Special K is serial.
- 36:11Teagan: Yeah.
- 36:12Teagan: And also his mother.
- 36:14Speaker 00: And you better honor those.
- 36:16Teagan: Yeah.
- 36:16Teagan: Oh, okay.
- 36:18Teagan: Well, when I worked at Baskin-Robbins,
- 36:20Speaker 00: yeah.
- 36:20Speaker 00: You probably caught the wrath.
- 36:23Teagan: Yeah, I'm sure I did.
- 36:25Teagan: That's probably why I like your mom.
- 36:27Teagan: I probably met her a time or two with her entertainment
- 36:30Speaker 00: book.
- 36:30Speaker 00: I
- 36:32Teagan: was like, here she comes again.
- 36:33Teagan: It makes me think of a phone book, but for like...
- 36:36Teagan: Entertainment.
- 36:38Speaker 00: In a way, it was.
- 36:39Speaker 00: Okay, okay.
- 36:41Speaker 00: It was a coupon book.
- 36:43Teagan: But it was big.
- 36:44Speaker 00: It was big.
- 36:45Teagan: It was like this thick.
- 36:46Speaker 00: It was huge.
- 36:47Speaker 00: So it was like...
- 36:47Speaker 00: I don't want to get it wrong.
- 36:50Teagan: Yeah, no.
- 36:50Teagan: Was it about yay big?
- 36:52Teagan: It was about yay...
- 36:53Teagan: Yeah, but it was thick.
- 36:54Speaker 00: It was thick.
- 36:55Speaker 00: And it was like just...
- 36:56Speaker 00: four coupons on each page or something like that?
- 37:00Speaker 00: Oh, no.
- 37:01Teagan: It was like eight.
- 37:02Speaker 00: Was it that
- 37:03Teagan: many?
- 37:03Teagan: Because half of it would explain what it was, and then the other half, they were like little tickets.
- 37:08Speaker 00: And it was a lot of like...
- 37:09Speaker 00: I remember Burger King was like, buy a Whopper, get a Whopper free.
- 37:13Speaker 00: It was stuff
- 37:14Teagan: like that.
- 37:15Teagan: So it was like a decent...
- 37:16Teagan: Pop loved the coupon book.
- 37:19Teagan: And kids would sell them for like fundraisers.
- 37:22Speaker 00: And they were expensive.
- 37:24Speaker 00: They were like $25.
- 37:25Speaker 00: I
- 37:25Teagan: don't know what you're talking about.
- 37:26Teagan: We sold...
- 37:27Teagan: We've sold them before for Girl Scouts.
- 37:28Teagan: Really?
- 37:30Teagan: We've had something like that, like coupon books.
- 37:32Speaker 00: You know, it is possible to be too involved.
- 37:34Teagan: I'm saying.
- 37:41Teagan: Yeah, we've sold like coupon books for Girl Scouts before.
- 37:44Teagan: Or Jump Up for Heart.
- 37:47Teagan: Yeah, I'm not sure they were entertainment books.
- 37:51Speaker 00: I totally forgot about those.
- 37:52Speaker 00: Well, you keep using
- 37:53Teagan: entertainment books and coupon books, like, synonymously.
- 37:55Teagan: Well, see, entertainment is a brand of coupon
- 37:59Speaker 00: books.
- 37:59Speaker 00: Yeah, it was called The Entertainment Book.
- 38:01Teagan: It had, like, a gray cover.
- 38:02Teagan: Oh.
- 38:02Teagan: And, like, they had good coupons, and they were regional.
- 38:08Speaker 00: That's, yeah.
- 38:10Teagan: So, like...
- 38:11Teagan: It would only work at like this McDonald's and this McDonald's.
- 38:16Teagan: Oh.
- 38:16Teagan: But not like you couldn't take the coupon to like North Carolina and use it.
- 38:20Teagan: Oh.
- 38:21Speaker 00: But they were like legit deals.
- 38:22Speaker 00: Yeah, they were
- 38:23Teagan: good coupons.
- 38:25Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 38:25Speaker 00: I remember a lot of buy one, get one.
- 38:27Teagan: Yes.
- 38:27Speaker 00: Then
- 38:28Teagan: there was like the random ones that you would never use, like car insurance.
- 38:36Teagan: What do you mean by car insurance?
- 38:38Teagan: Like it would be like take 5% off your car insurance or something.
- 38:43Speaker 00: How about skip it?
- 38:45Teagan: Oh, you're talking to the Skippet Queen.
- 38:49Teagan: I loved Skippet.
- 38:50Teagan: She knows Skippet.
- 38:51Teagan: Yes, I loved it.
- 38:52Teagan: I could probably pull up a video right now.
- 38:54Teagan: The first time I used it was in gym class.
- 38:56Teagan: And then I asked Santa for one for Christmas.
- 38:59Teagan: I specifically had a white one with pink and purple on it.
- 39:02Teagan: Because her Santa rocks.
- 39:04Teagan: Yes.
- 39:05Teagan: And I literally used it probably for the first, like, Three hours of Christmas before we went to our grandma's.
- 39:12Teagan: Like, I used it for hours on end.
- 39:15Teagan: She was so good at it.
- 39:16Teagan: Yeah?
- 39:16Teagan: Like, hours on end.
- 39:17Teagan: Like, you know, like those super, like, speed jump roping competitions?
- 39:21Teagan: Yeah.
- 39:21Teagan: I could have done that with the Skip It.
- 39:22Teagan: Skip It.
- 39:23Teagan: Yeah.
- 39:23Teagan: I was obsessed with it.
- 39:25Teagan: So do you remember
- 39:25Speaker 00: the commercial?
- 39:26Teagan: No.
- 39:27Teagan: I only remember the Skip It.
- 39:28Teagan: Yeah, which she's like, I don't do commercials.
- 39:31Unknown: No.
- 39:32Teagan: I only remember the Skip It.
- 39:34Speaker 00: Skip It.
- 39:34Speaker 00: I just pictured her getting a Skip It and a coupon book and an entertainment book.
- 39:39Speaker 00: I'm like, what is
- 39:40Teagan: this thing?
- 39:40Teagan: She's like, this is fantastic.
- 39:41Speaker 00: Skip It was sweet.
- 39:42Speaker 00: I used to use my sister's Skip It all the time.
- 39:44Teagan: Was it white and purple and pink?
- 39:46Speaker 00: It was just pink.
- 39:48Speaker 00: It was pink Skip It.
- 39:49Teagan: Do you have bruises from when you smacked yourself in the shins?
- 39:54Speaker 00: I can't say I did.
- 39:55Speaker 00: You are not
- 39:55Teagan: a pro Skip It person.
- 39:57Speaker 00: How the hell do you smack yourself in the shins with a Skip It?
- 39:59Speaker 00: If you
- 39:59Teagan: didn't jump fast enough, you would smack yourself with it.
- 40:02Speaker 00: It was pretty soft.
- 40:04Teagan: What?
- 40:04Teagan: What?
- 40:05Speaker 00: It was like a piece of plastic.
- 40:06Teagan: I'm sorry, what are you talking about?
- 40:08Teagan: No, the end was hard.
- 40:10Teagan: It was like a
- 40:11Speaker 00: whole
- 40:12Teagan: chunk of plastic.
- 40:12Speaker 00: How was that coming into your...
- 40:14Teagan: Because it would like...
- 40:15Speaker 00: Oh, like whip around?
- 40:16Teagan: Yeah.
- 40:16Teagan: Yeah,
- 40:17Speaker 00: it wasn't that...
- 40:18Teagan: Oh, so you were good.
- 40:20Teagan: You weren't that.
- 40:23Speaker 00: Yeah, I was coordinated, as they say.
- 40:28Speaker 00: In my day, the skip a counter only went up to 99.
- 40:30Speaker 00: Oh,
- 40:32Teagan: really?
- 40:33Speaker 00: I
- 40:33Teagan: don't know.
- 40:34Teagan: Teagan's like, I did that in like a minute.
- 40:36Teagan: No, yeah.
- 40:36Speaker 00: Yours didn't have a counter?
- 40:37Teagan: No.
- 40:38Teagan: I think it did.
- 40:39Teagan: Did it?
- 40:39Teagan: I think it did.
- 40:40Teagan: I think I had an app.
- 40:43Unknown: Yeah.
- 40:44Teagan: Oh, come on.
- 40:47Teagan: Jeez.
- 40:47Teagan: I think I had an app that had, like, a tracker for it.
- 40:50Teagan: Because I remember when I, like, play sounds.
- 40:51Teagan: I remember I had two.
- 40:54Teagan: Oh, maybe you did.
- 40:55Teagan: I had two.
- 40:55Teagan: The white one I know I think had a counter.
- 40:59Teagan: And the other one I think had an app
- 41:00Speaker 00: with it that tracked it.
- 41:02Speaker 00: We had acoustic skip it.
- 41:03Speaker 00: It was a whole thing.
- 41:05Speaker 00: Not electronic.
- 41:06Speaker 00: All right, well, I'm happy you know Skip It.
- 41:10Speaker 00: I
- 41:11Teagan: love them.
- 41:11Teagan: I'm trying to find a Skip It video.
- 41:13Speaker 00: What about Koosh?
- 41:15Speaker 00: Koosh?
- 41:17Speaker 00: Koosh.
- 41:18Teagan: Like quinoa?
- 41:19Teagan: I don't know.
- 41:19Teagan: It makes me think of quinoa, like couscous.
- 41:25Speaker 00: Koosh.
- 41:26Speaker 00: I don't know how to explain a koosh.
- 41:28Speaker 00: Koosh ball.
- 41:29Teagan: Koosh ball.
- 41:30Teagan: Koosh ball.
- 41:31Teagan: Oh, mumble?
- 41:31Teagan: No.
- 41:33Teagan: Oh.
- 41:34Teagan: Mumble's a game?
- 41:35Teagan: Yeah.
- 41:35Teagan: Yeah, no.
- 41:37Unknown: Oh.
- 41:37Teagan: A couche is, it was like, it's a physical item.
- 41:40Teagan: Yeah.
- 41:41Speaker 00: It is a physical
- 41:43Teagan: item.
- 41:43Teagan: And I would let it hang by the one string.
- 41:46Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 41:47Speaker 00: Oh, yeah.
- 41:47Speaker 00: Spin it.
- 41:48Teagan: Yeah.
- 41:49Teagan: I never knew the name of it, but I know those.
- 41:50Teagan: They had like the earrings versions of them at Claire's.
- 41:53Teagan: Yeah, they did.
- 41:54Teagan: Teagan, do you know what you would get if you completed Book It?
- 42:01Teagan: Book It?
- 42:03Teagan: Yeah.
- 42:03Teagan: Book It.
- 42:04Teagan: No.
- 42:06Speaker 00: Just talking about this this afternoon.
- 42:07Speaker 00: Were you?
- 42:08Speaker 00: I was.
- 42:08Speaker 00: I
- 42:09Teagan: don't know what that is.
- 42:10Teagan: So, book it.
- 42:12Teagan: It was like a program in school where you would read, right?
- 42:16Teagan: And you would track it.
- 42:17Teagan: And you would get mom's signature or you would forge it.
- 42:21Teagan: Yes.
- 42:21Teagan: Yeah.
- 42:22Teagan: Fourth grade.
- 42:23Teagan: There you go.
- 42:24Teagan: Obviously, you would win or you would get...
- 42:28Teagan: Free Pizza Hut pizza.
- 42:31Speaker 00: Personal pan pizza.
- 42:32Teagan: Oh, specifically Pizza Hut?
- 42:33Teagan: Yeah.
- 42:33Teagan: You get the coupon and you go and you can go eat your pizza.
- 42:39Speaker 00: Personal pan pizza.
- 42:40Speaker 00: So couldn't you
- 42:40Teagan: just lie over and over?
- 42:42Teagan: Was it personal
- 42:45Speaker 00: or?
- 42:45Speaker 00: They're all personal if you.
- 42:46Speaker 00: If you try hard
- 42:47Teagan: enough.
- 42:49Teagan: That's my daughter.
- 42:52Teagan: See that?
- 42:52Teagan: That's really good.
- 42:54Teagan: No, I don't know.
- 42:55Teagan: So only Pizza Hut?
- 42:58Teagan: Yeah.
- 42:58Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 42:59Teagan: So why didn't people just lie and just get a whole bunch of stuff?
- 43:01Teagan: Oh, they did.
- 43:02Teagan: I'm sure a bunch did.
- 43:03Teagan: Oh, they did.
- 43:04Speaker 00: Well, you only got one.
- 43:05Speaker 00: I mean, it wasn't...
- 43:06Teagan: Yeah, but couldn't you bring multiple favorites, say?
- 43:08Teagan: No, it didn't work like that.
- 43:10Teagan: Oh.
- 43:11Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 43:11Speaker 00: There was a system.
- 43:13Teagan: Don't try to hack the
- 43:14Speaker 00: system.
- 43:15Speaker 00: We had this thing called integrity in the 90s, right?
- 43:18Speaker 00: Rule following.
- 43:19Speaker 00: It was a different world.
- 43:20Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 43:20Speaker 00: It doesn't really exist in mine.
- 43:24Speaker 00: Did
- 43:25Teagan: you do Book It?
- 43:25Teagan: Yeah.
- 43:26Teagan: Did you almost say Bitcoin?
- 43:28Teagan: It's not like you almost said Bitcoin.
- 43:30Teagan: Oh,
- 43:31Speaker 00: no.
- 43:31Teagan: Book It.
- 43:32Speaker 00: Book It.
- 43:33Teagan: Book.
- 43:34Speaker 00: All right, what else you got?
- 43:38Teagan: This
- 43:38Speaker 00: is a long episode.
- 43:40Teagan: How long
- 43:40Speaker 00: are we in?
- 43:41Speaker 00: Oh, it's 10 o'clock.
- 43:42Teagan: Is it really?
- 43:43Teagan: Okay.
- 43:43Teagan: It is 10 o'clock.
- 43:45Speaker 00: It's not a bad thing, I'm just saying.
- 43:47Teagan: No, yeah, yeah.
- 43:50Speaker 00: I also keep running out of the room.
- 43:52Teagan: So...
- 43:53Teagan: Let's say I was in the car with friends and we had to cross the bridge and I would be like, quick, check the floor, check under your seats.
- 44:05Teagan: Why would I do that?
- 44:06Teagan: I have no idea.
- 44:07Teagan: It's usually hold your breath.
- 44:08Teagan: Oh, for like good luck?
- 44:11Teagan: Yeah.
- 44:11Teagan: Yeah, no.
- 44:12Teagan: Money?
- 44:14Teagan: Yeah.
- 44:15Teagan: Oh, tolls?
- 44:16Teagan: Yes.
- 44:17Teagan: Oh.
- 44:18Teagan: No, just easy passes.
- 44:22Speaker 00: Did you ever
- 44:23Teagan: have a coupon book?
- 44:24Teagan: Are you serious right now?
- 44:26Teagan: Yeah, who bought a book?
- 44:27Teagan: It was like tickets across the bridge.
- 44:30Teagan: So when I went to New Paltz, you would buy a book of tickets.
- 44:37Teagan: And so it was like, it would make it faster.
- 44:40Teagan: They were like for commuters.
- 44:42Teagan: And you weren't supposed to remove the ticket from the book.
- 44:45Teagan: But if you were a pro like me, you would tear the ticket and stick it in the book and hand the book and they would just pull the ticket.
- 44:53Teagan: Didn't have to take the time to tear it.
- 44:55Teagan: It was a 90s thing.
- 44:57Teagan: So did you prepay all of them, essentially?
- 45:00Teagan: Yeah, so one day you'd go to the bridge and you would pay your toll and then...
- 45:06Teagan: That face was so bad.
- 45:12Teagan: Oh my God, I'm so sorry.
- 45:13Teagan: And then you...
- 45:15Teagan: You would be like, I'll buy a ticket book or a coupon book or whatever.
- 45:21Teagan: Can I ask you guys questions?
- 45:24Speaker 00: sure
- 45:24Teagan: yeah do you know what a do you know what a fiend is a
- 45:29Speaker 00: what
- 45:30Teagan: a fiend a fiend a
- 45:32Speaker 00: fiend a
- 45:33Teagan: fiend like f fiend f fiend well i like i'm fiending for a there you go oh yeah yeah okay like a Like a yearning.
- 45:49Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 45:50Speaker 00: I say a desire.
- 45:51Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 45:52Teagan: Yeah.
- 45:52Teagan: Like you're a fiend for something.
- 45:54Teagan: You just sounded like a romance novel.
- 45:59Teagan: Like Jordan, for example, she's a fiend for Duncan.
- 46:01Teagan: Oh, okay.
- 46:03Teagan: Do people say that about all this kind of stuff?
- 46:04Teagan: Yeah.
- 46:06Speaker 00: Oh.
- 46:06Speaker 00: So if you're fiending for something.
- 46:08Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 46:09Teagan: But you'd say like you are a fiend?
- 46:11Speaker 00: We would say jonesing.
- 46:13Teagan: Oh.
- 46:13Teagan: Do you know what a...
- 46:16Teagan: You know what a big back is?
- 46:17Teagan: A big back?
- 46:18Teagan: A
- 46:22Speaker 00: big
- 46:22Teagan: back.
- 46:22Teagan: Yeah, you know what?
- 46:23Teagan: Will probably hasn't heard any of these because he also doesn't do the TikTok.
- 46:27Teagan: I'm so excited.
- 46:27Speaker 00: I don't.
- 46:28Speaker 00: A big
- 46:29Teagan: back?
- 46:29Teagan: A big back.
- 46:30Teagan: I'm going to give you the specific origin of it.
- 46:35Speaker 00: I would love a specific origin.
- 46:37Teagan: It's someone so fat.
- 46:38Teagan: She
- 46:42Speaker 00: spits.
- 46:42Speaker 00: Watch out.
- 46:46Teagan: Oh my god.
- 46:47Teagan: I'm dead.
- 46:48Teagan: So when someone's so fat, they're hunched over a lot, so it creates a big back.
- 46:57Teagan: So they're big backed.
- 46:59Teagan: So you call them, you're a big back?
- 47:03Teagan: Yeah, but if you just eat a lot, you're also called a big back.
- 47:08Speaker 00: I saw that today in a post.
- 47:11Teagan: Did you?
- 47:12Speaker 00: Somebody said something about a big back.
- 47:14Teagan: So it's essentially just calling someone fat in other terms.
- 47:17Teagan: It's a big back.
- 47:20Speaker 00: That's a good one.
- 47:20Speaker 00: Okay.
- 47:21Speaker 00: I want to find out
- 47:22Teagan: more.
- 47:22Teagan: Why didn't you guys tell me this?
- 47:23Teagan: I would have been prepared.
- 47:24Teagan: Do you know what
- 47:27Speaker 00: Riz is?
- 47:28Speaker 00: I've heard Riz.
- 47:33Speaker 00: Isn't that like...
- 47:36Speaker 00: Oh, my God, I have the best one ever.
- 47:39Speaker 00: Next.
- 47:39Speaker 00: Like one would have Riz.
- 47:41Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 47:42Speaker 00: So they'd have the juice.
- 47:44Speaker 00: What?
- 47:45Speaker 00: No, well, only you have juice.
- 47:50Speaker 00: Like you got the Riz.
- 47:54Speaker 00: You got the.
- 47:55Teagan: So sophomore year, I finally learned that Riz is short for charisma.
- 48:00Teagan: Oh, that makes sense.
- 48:04Speaker 00: What's the next one?
- 48:05Speaker 00: Because you were really excited about it.
- 48:06Teagan: Do you know what a gyat is?
- 48:12Speaker 00: A gyat?
- 48:13Teagan: God bless
- 48:13Speaker 00: you.
- 48:14Teagan: Yes.
- 48:14Teagan: Specifically, G-Y-A-T-T.
- 48:20Speaker 00: No.
- 48:20Speaker 00: I got nothing.
- 48:23Teagan: A gyat is referred to for a big butt.
- 48:27Speaker 00: Like a ba-dunk-a-dunk.
- 48:29Teagan: Yes, exactly.
- 48:30Teagan: Like a ba-dunk-a-dunk.
- 48:31Teagan: Yes, exactly.
- 48:33Teagan: Okay.
- 48:33Teagan: Baby got back.
- 48:34Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 48:35Teagan: Yeah.
- 48:35Speaker 00: What's it stand for?
- 48:36Speaker 00: A
- 48:37Teagan: big butt.
- 48:38Speaker 00: But what's...
- 48:39Teagan: But like...
- 48:39Teagan: Yeah.
- 48:40Teagan: Yeah.
- 48:41Teagan: Oh,
- 48:43Speaker 00: I know where it came from.
- 48:44Speaker 00: I
- 48:45Teagan: don't.
- 48:45Teagan: I just know it's the word.
- 48:47Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 48:47Speaker 00: Damn.
- 48:49Teagan: That's exactly it.
- 48:50Teagan: Yes.
- 48:50Teagan: Yes.
- 48:51Teagan: I love that.
- 48:54Speaker 00: See?
- 48:54Speaker 00: I'd be knowing things.
- 48:56Speaker 00: Right?
- 48:58Teagan: You're cool like that.
- 48:59Speaker 00: I'm like the kids.
- 49:01Teagan: Yeah.
- 49:03Teagan: Do you know what Skibbity Ohio Riz is?
- 49:06Teagan: He thinks you're, like, fucking with him right now.
- 49:14Teagan: So this is specifically, this is more Gen Alpha, but...
- 49:18Teagan: A lot of people say it to be idiots, but Skibbity Ohio Riz.
- 49:24Speaker 00: Skibbity, it's like having a lot of charisma?
- 49:27Teagan: It's just saying someone's weird.
- 49:29Teagan: Oh.
- 49:29Teagan: But say it like in a sentence.
- 49:32Teagan: Like...
- 49:33Teagan: Will just has that whole box of stuff.
- 49:36Teagan: He's so skibbedy or however it is.
- 49:37Teagan: Why are you picking up
- 49:38Speaker 00: my
- 49:43Teagan: stuff?
- 49:43Teagan: She called you out.
- 49:45Speaker 00: Next you'll call me a string
- 49:46Teagan: bean.
- 49:51Teagan: I want to go in depth of what you said.
- 49:58Teagan: Do you know what a situationship is?
- 50:05Speaker 00: Is it a...
- 50:08Speaker 00: Don't get me.
- 50:11Speaker 00: A situationship?
- 50:12Teagan: Yes.
- 50:14Speaker 00: Is it, I'm guessing, like a friends with benefits type of thing?
- 50:17Speaker 00: Essentially,
- 50:18Teagan: yeah.
- 50:18Teagan: It kind of is.
- 50:19Teagan: But you're not out in public with each other.
- 50:23Teagan: Oh, there's
- 50:25Speaker 00: rules.
- 50:25Teagan: Yeah.
- 50:25Teagan: Oh,
- 50:26Speaker 00: there's got to be rules.
- 50:27Teagan: Like, you're not dating,
- 50:28Speaker 00: but you're not
- 50:29Teagan: just talking.
- 50:30Teagan: So you're essentially dating without the label.
- 50:33Teagan: But you don't post stuff together.
- 50:35Teagan: Oh.
- 50:35Teagan: So like it's just between the two of you.
- 50:38Teagan: So that's like the guy and the ugly girl.
- 50:41Teagan: Yes.
- 50:42Teagan: Yes.
- 50:43Teagan: Really?
- 50:43Teagan: I know what you're talking about.
- 50:44Teagan: Yes.
- 50:44Teagan: Okay.
- 50:45Teagan: Kind of, but like between like anyone.
- 50:47Teagan: Monica Lewinsky was in a situation.
- 50:51Teagan: A little bit.
- 50:51Teagan: A
- 50:52Speaker 00: little
- 50:52Teagan: bit.
- 50:52Teagan: Yeah.
- 50:53Teagan: Monica was in a situation with Chandler before they went out with everyone.
- 50:57Teagan: Oh, okay.
- 50:58Teagan: Oh, okay.
- 50:59Teagan: So it's kind of like they were in a situation ship because it was secret.
- 51:02Teagan: They didn't tell anyone.
- 51:03Teagan: And then once they came out, it was a relationship.
- 51:06Teagan: Okay.
- 51:07Teagan: Yeah.
- 51:08Unknown: Yeah.
- 51:13Speaker 00: On this week's 90s News Flash.
- 51:16Speaker 00: This was something that I just looked up while we were starting the show.
- 51:25Teagan: What'd you find?
- 51:26Teagan: I
- 51:27Speaker 00: found that there is a 90s-inspired margarita coming to Chili's.
- 51:33Speaker 00: Like I said, I'm either throwing out advertisements or deaths.
- 51:37Speaker 00: That's all my news flashes
- 51:39Teagan: are.
- 51:39Teagan: Bring it.
- 51:40Speaker 00: Let's
- 51:40Teagan: advertise the death.
- 51:41Speaker 00: Yeah, a 90s-inspired margarita.
- 51:43Speaker 00: It is going to be...
- 51:46Speaker 00: The face of the margarita is going to be...
- 51:48Speaker 00: Tiffany Amber Thiessen.
- 51:50Speaker 00: No.
- 51:51Speaker 00: You may know her from Saved by the Bell.
- 51:54Teagan: Uh-huh.
- 51:55Speaker 00: You may know her from Beverly Hills 90210.
- 51:56Speaker 00: That's
- 51:57Teagan: where I know her from.
- 51:59Speaker 00: So she is, yeah, she's promoting these 90s margaritas.
- 52:05Speaker 00: Ironically, there's a Chili's right down the street.
- 52:08Speaker 00: So
- 52:09Teagan: we'll meet there.
- 52:10Speaker 00: I think we should plan to.
- 52:11Speaker 00: I love
- 52:12Teagan: Chili's.
- 52:12Teagan: They're triple dipper.
- 52:13Speaker 00: We have a driver.
- 52:14Speaker 00: Yes,
- 52:15Teagan: they do.
- 52:17Unknown: Yes.
- 52:17Unknown: Yes.
- 52:17Speaker 00: Air high five.
- 52:18Speaker 00: Perfect.
- 52:19Teagan: Like the Dundies.
- 52:21Speaker 00: Exactly.
- 52:22Speaker 00: Yes.
- 52:22Speaker 00: Oh, that's right.
- 52:24Speaker 00: They had it in
- 52:24Teagan: Chili's and then they got kicked out because Pam stole people's drinks.
- 52:28Speaker 00: Oh, yeah.
- 52:28Speaker 00: We can get kicked out of this
- 52:29Teagan: Chili's.
- 52:30Speaker 00: $6.
- 52:31Speaker 00: $6 margarita.
- 52:33Teagan: What?
- 52:34Speaker 00: Color changing.
- 52:35Speaker 00: That's
- 52:35Teagan: so expensive.
- 52:35Teagan: That's actually not.
- 52:38Teagan: Six dollars.
- 52:40Teagan: Oh, well, alcohol, right?
- 52:41Teagan: Yeah, alcohol.
- 52:44Teagan: Alcohol.
- 52:44Teagan: What makes it 90s?
- 52:45Teagan: Just because Tiffany's face is on it?
- 52:47Speaker 00: I'm guessing.
- 52:48Speaker 00: It says, Margarita is a color-changing portal back to the 90s.
- 52:52Speaker 00: I guess if you drink enough tequila, you can just be in
- 52:55Teagan: the 90s again.
- 52:56Speaker 00: You see lots of colors.
- 52:59Teagan: There's Will and me drinking, crying.
- 53:02Teagan: I
- 53:04Speaker 00: just want to say by the bell back.
- 53:06Speaker 00: I
- 53:07Teagan: miss Nirvana.
- 53:09Speaker 00: Screech.
- 53:10Speaker 00: So yeah, that's our 90s news for today.
- 53:17Teagan: I like that one.
- 53:18Teagan: That's
- 53:19Speaker 00: a good one.
- 53:19Speaker 00: I think we should
- 53:20Teagan: go get
- 53:20Speaker 00: it.
- 53:22Teagan: Get it.
- 53:23Teagan: Get it.
- 53:24Speaker 00: I think that if we kind of plug enough
- 53:29Teagan: Yeah.
- 53:30Speaker 00: Things.
- 53:30Speaker 00: Hashtag Chili's.
- 53:31Speaker 00: Chili's.
- 53:32Speaker 00: All right.
- 53:34Speaker 00: So I think we all learned tonight that we can learn from each other.
- 53:37Speaker 00: We
- 53:37Teagan: can learn from each other.
- 53:38Teagan: I
- 53:38Speaker 00: learned about the Riz.
- 53:39Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 53:42Speaker 00: Our new friend Teagan.
- 53:44Speaker 00: Well, you've known her for a while.
- 53:45Speaker 00: Yeah, I've known her all my life.
- 53:46Speaker 00: I learned about Pogs.
- 53:48Speaker 00: Teagan learned about Pogs.
- 53:50Speaker 00: And the intricacies to them.
- 53:52Teagan: Yep.
- 53:54Speaker 00: Lesli, you learned about...
- 53:55Speaker 00: What did I learn
- 53:57Teagan: about?
- 53:57Speaker 00: You were here.
- 53:57Speaker 00: You were doing it.
- 53:58Speaker 00: Yeah, I was part of this.
- 54:01Speaker 00: You were there.
- 54:02Speaker 00: You were there for
- 54:03Teagan: all of this?
- 54:04Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 54:05Speaker 00: Teagan, come back anytime.
- 54:08Teagan: Thanks.
- 54:09Speaker 00: This was a lot of fun.
- 54:10Speaker 00: This was like our first kind of interview thing.
- 54:12Speaker 00: And I liked...
- 54:13Teagan: Well, and now that we've done it, I have like ideas of like...
- 54:18Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 54:18Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 54:18Speaker 00: No, that was a lot of fun.
- 54:21Teagan: I
- 54:21Speaker 00: think we need to stop putting pressure on it.
- 54:23Speaker 00: I agree.
- 54:23Speaker 00: We're doing an ending and just talk because that seems to be...
- 54:29Teagan: Maybe next time we can have an encyclopedia to show Teagan.
- 54:33Speaker 00: That's true.
- 54:35Teagan: An English one, Teagan.
- 54:36Speaker 00: An English encyclopedia.
- 54:38Speaker 00: Sounds good.
- 54:38Speaker 00: Not the Spanish encyclopedia.
- 54:42Speaker 00: No, this is really cool.
- 54:43Speaker 00: So come back anytime.
- 54:45Speaker 00: Thanks.
- 54:47Speaker 00: I don't know what else we would have.
- 54:48Speaker 00: Yeah, I mean...
- 54:50Speaker 00: I mean, you're going to teach me more slang, I hope.
- 54:52Teagan: Oh, I'll teach you more slang.
- 54:53Teagan: I'll find some stuff.
- 54:54Teagan: Okay.
- 54:54Teagan: Tell me more.
- 54:55Speaker 00: That I will never use in my life.
- 54:56Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 54:58Teagan: Sometimes when they say it, I'm like, that's not real.
- 55:01Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 55:01Speaker 00: I remember like a year ago, your mom texted me something about something being mid.
- 55:07Speaker 00: Oh, yeah.
- 55:09Speaker 00: And I was like, oh, she got that from her daughters, definitely.
- 55:11Speaker 00: Because that sounds like a young folk thing.
- 55:16Teagan: Yeah.
- 55:18Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 55:18Speaker 00: Like, this ending is mid.
- 55:20Speaker 00: This ending is mid.
- 55:22Speaker 00: All of our endings are mid.
- 55:23Teagan: Yeah.
- 55:23Teagan: We'll fix
- 55:24Speaker 00: it.
- 55:24Speaker 00: We'll figure it out.
- 55:25Speaker 00: We'll make it work.
- 55:26Teagan: We're learning.
- 55:28Speaker 00: So, again, thank you, Teagan.
- 55:30Speaker 00: Thanks
- 55:31Teagan: for coming, Teagan,
- 55:32Speaker 00: to pass your bedtime.
- 55:33Speaker 00: Thanks for driving your mother here since she got her license revoked.
- 55:37Speaker 00: As always, thank you, everybody, for listening.
- 55:44Speaker 00: Everyone who stuck with us.
- 55:46Speaker 00: Oh,
- 55:49Teagan: yeah.
- 55:50Teagan: We have to thank your old teacher friend, Jen, who wrote us a note on Instagram.
- 55:59Speaker 00: Oh, yeah.
- 55:59Speaker 00: Thank you, Jen.
- 56:01Teagan: Yes.
- 56:01Speaker 00: I'm glad you're enjoying it.
- 56:03Teagan: Yeah.
- 56:03Teagan: We were her first podcast ever.
- 56:05Teagan: What?
- 56:06Teagan: Yes.
- 56:06Teagan: Oh,
- 56:06Speaker 00: that's awesome.
- 56:07Teagan: I know.
- 56:07Speaker 00: That is awesome.
- 56:08Speaker 00: And probably her last.
- 56:11Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 56:13Speaker 00: She's like, wait, what?
- 56:14Speaker 00: Yeah, I'm not doing this anymore.
- 56:16Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 56:16Speaker 00: Ruined it for everybody.
- 56:17Speaker 00: Exactly.
- 56:18Speaker 00: I have to give a quick shout out to my buddy, Eric.
- 56:21Speaker 00: Eric.
- 56:22Speaker 00: Eric.
- 56:23Speaker 00: He doesn't deserve one, but he said he wanted one.
- 56:26Speaker 00: Well,
- 56:27Teagan: there you go.
- 56:28Speaker 00: So, he can have one.
- 56:30Teagan: You know what?
- 56:30Teagan: That's really, at this point, it's like, you should just ask us because we'll do it.
- 56:34Teagan: Yeah.
- 56:34Teagan: And then you're famous.
- 56:35Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 56:35Speaker 00: I mean, he's a handsome guy.
- 56:37Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 56:37Speaker 00: Is he?
- 56:38Speaker 00: We'll give him that.
- 56:39Speaker 00: And my My brother-in-law, Rurik.
- 56:40Speaker 00: What?
- 56:42Speaker 00: My brother-in-law, his name is Rurik.
- 56:44Speaker 00: So my brother-in-law, Rurik, I want to say hello to him because I know he's listening.
- 56:49Speaker 00: He gave us rave reviews.
- 56:52Teagan: That makes me so excited.
- 56:53Speaker 00: He did.
- 56:54Speaker 00: He said our podcast is pretty great.
- 56:56Speaker 00: Yeah?
- 56:57Speaker 00: He said it sounded very professional,
- 57:00Teagan: which
- 57:00Speaker 00: is great because we're kind of dumb.
- 57:02Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 57:04Teagan: So Rurik, we pulled it off.
- 57:06Speaker 00: We pulled it off.
- 57:07Speaker 00: We tricked you.
- 57:08Teagan: That's right.
- 57:08Speaker 00: Got him.
- 57:09Speaker 00: And I told him...
- 57:11Speaker 00: We would like to have him on.
- 57:13Teagan: Was that your birthday party?
- 57:15Speaker 00: He was.
- 57:15Speaker 00: As always, thank you, everybody.
- 57:17Speaker 00: Email us, gapofthenineties at gmail.com.
- 57:22Teagan: We're hopping on threads.

- 57:29Speaker 00: Follow us.
- 57:30Speaker 00: Is that what it is?
- 57:32Teagan: That's what it is.

- 57:37Speaker 00: Every time.
- 57:37Speaker 00: Every time.

- 57:40Speaker 00: your mom.
- 57:40Speaker 00: That sweet iPod with the dial.
- 57:42Speaker 00: Follow us
- 57:45Teagan: on Apple...
- 57:47Speaker 00: Podcast.

- 57:51Teagan: Outcast.
- 57:53Speaker 00: Buzzsprout.
- 57:54Teagan: Buzzsprout.
- 57:55Speaker 00: Outcast?
- 57:55Speaker 00: What's that?
- 57:57Teagan: Outcast is...
- 57:59Teagan: It's kind of like...
- 58:00Teagan: Almost like a homegrown podcast home.
- 58:05Speaker 00: Okay.
- 58:06Teagan: But if you...
- 58:07Teagan: Launch on Apple, you automatically launch on OutKast.
- 58:13Teagan: Okay.
- 58:13Teagan: Yep.
- 58:14Speaker 00: Cool.
- 58:15Teagan: So we're there.
- 58:16Teagan: I like it.
- 58:17Speaker 00: We're on OutKast.
- 58:18Speaker 00: If you get a chance, leave a review.
- 58:20Speaker 00: That'd be cool.
- 58:20Speaker 00: I would love
- 58:21Teagan: that.
- 58:22Speaker 00: Love a review.
- 58:23Teagan: Well, thank you, Will, for pulling out your collectibles.
- 58:26Speaker 00: Of course.
- 58:27Speaker 00: Of course.
- 58:28Speaker 00: And I'm not going to say it this week.
- 58:32Teagan: Okay.
- 58:33Speaker 00: People know I want them to donate blood.
- 58:34Speaker 00: Teagan doesn't know because she never makes it to the end of the episode.
- 58:37Speaker 00: I actually
- 58:37Teagan: have.
- 58:37Teagan: I've heard all about your blood donations.
- 58:39Teagan: Okay.
- 58:39Teagan: Yeah.
- 58:40Teagan: Did you hear about plasma donation?
- 58:43Teagan: I have heard about that, too.
- 58:44Teagan: I heard about it the entire episode.
- 58:46Teagan: Uncut version.
- 58:48Teagan: Oh,
- 58:50Speaker 00: she did hear the uncut version.
- 58:52Speaker 00: So I guess this week's words of wisdom will be just don't be a dick.
- 58:58Teagan: Yeah, don't be a dick.
- 58:59Speaker 00: You know, it's pretty simple.
- 59:01Teagan: That's your riz.
- 59:02Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 59:03Speaker 00: Something about Riz.
- 59:04Speaker 00: What?
- 59:06Teagan: W Riz.
- 59:07Speaker 00: W Riz.
- 59:07Speaker 00: What's that?
- 59:08Teagan: W Charisma.
- 59:09Teagan: You have good Riz.
- 59:10Speaker 00: What's the W?
- 59:11Teagan: What's W?
- 59:12Teagan: Win.
- 59:12Teagan: Like W short for win, but like if you say W Riz, like you have good Riz.
- 59:16Speaker 00: I'm buying you encyclopedias.
- 59:18Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 59:20Speaker 00: Or at least a Spanish dictionary.
- 59:22Teagan: Something.
- 59:23Speaker 00: Something.
- 59:23Speaker 00: It's out of control.
- 59:26Speaker 00: I'm not W Rizin' on anything.
- 59:30Speaker 00: Rizin' on anything.
- 59:32Speaker 00: But yeah, don't be a dick.
- 59:34Speaker 00: All right, don't be a dick.
- 59:35Speaker 00: Be cool.
- 59:36Speaker 00: I
- 59:38Teagan: think that's why we're friends, because we're not dicks.
- 59:40Speaker 00: Yeah.
- 59:41Speaker 00: We pretend to be.
- 59:42Teagan: Yeah.
- 59:43Teagan: Yes.
- 59:43Teagan: Have a good one, guys.
- 59:45Teagan: Fix this.
- 59:46Teagan: Bye, Teagan.
- 59:48Teagan: Bye.
- 59:50Teagan: Bye.
- 59:50Unknown: Bye.
- 59:52Teagan: Lavender.
- 59:55Unknown: Adios.
