- 0:03Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to the Overland Journal podcast. I'm your
- 0:06Speaker 1: host Scott Brady, and I'm here with my co host
- 0:09Speaker 1: Matt Scott and for this week, we are super excited
- 0:12Speaker 1: to talk about the new twenty twenty four Toyota Tacoma.
- 0:16Speaker 1: This vehicle is all new from the ground up, and
- 0:18Speaker 1: they've addressed all of the things that we saw as
- 0:21Speaker 1: cons about the vehicle in previous podcasts. This thing is
- 0:25Speaker 1: going to be available with up to seventeen hundred pounds
- 0:27Speaker 1: of payload thirty three inch tall tires. It's going to
- 0:30Speaker 1: have a trail hunter package built specifically for overlanding. The
- 0:34Speaker 1: list goes on and on and on, so please enjoy
- 0:37Speaker 1: this wide ranging conversation about the all new Tacoma with
- 0:40Speaker 1: Matt and Scott. This content is brought to you by

- 1:41Speaker 1: Journal Podcast. I'm your host, Scott Brady, and I'm here
- 1:43Speaker 1: with my co host Matt Scott and we are all
- 1:46Speaker 1: smiles and excitement this morning. Toyota's back because the Tacoma
- 1:50Speaker 1: is back.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Man, we're even start. I mean, I mean, there's a
- 1:53Speaker 3: lot to talk about this roundup, ground up, refresh. I
- 1:56Speaker 3: think we were all big fans of the second generation Tacoma.
- 1:59Speaker 1: And the first gen.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Of course, the first gen, the third gen. You know, honestly,
- 2:02Speaker 3: there's nothing wrong with it. It's just that's where I'm
- 2:05Speaker 3: not going to say that Toyota was asleep at the wheel.
- 2:08Speaker 3: But you really started to see the competition come into
- 2:10Speaker 3: that segment, correct, you know, you started to see the
- 2:13Speaker 3: Colorado ZR two That was like, in my opinion, kind
- 2:16Speaker 3: of mind bending for the segment.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Yep.
- 2:18Speaker 3: And now Toyota is responding, they really are in earnest
- 2:22Speaker 3: like they're out for They're out for blood in their
- 2:24Speaker 3: own little Toyota way.
- 2:25Speaker 1: That's what it feels like. It feels like they've taken
- 2:27Speaker 1: it so seriously, and it's almost like they listened to
- 2:29Speaker 1: the podcast.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, because we've been we we are both
- 2:34Speaker 3: we've both trusted our lives to Toyota's around the world.
- 2:37Speaker 1: But the Tacoma slowly became less appropriate as a tool
- 2:42Speaker 1: with the limitations of the frame, Halo enjoyable to drive,
- 2:46Speaker 1: you know, at third gen we're talking about the third gen.
- 2:48Speaker 3: I mean that motor was a little weird and how
- 2:51Speaker 3: it operated the hlacans and cycle thing, and.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Then the six speed and the very very high first gear.
- 2:56Speaker 1: It needed to be you know, at least a four
- 2:58Speaker 1: point five to five or five one first gear was
- 3:01Speaker 1: a very high first gear, so it just kind of
- 3:02Speaker 1: made it terrifying.
- 3:03Speaker 3: But like for eighty eight c and it or something
- 3:05Speaker 3: to make it drive right, and there were issues. But boy,
- 3:09Speaker 3: I mean, I don't even know where to start on this.
- 3:10Speaker 3: So I know I do know where to start. This
- 3:12Speaker 3: trail hunter thing. I think the name's a little tacky. Yeah,
- 3:15Speaker 3: the name is an interesting way. It's like, it's probably
- 3:18Speaker 3: just that they couldn't find another good name because there's
- 3:21Speaker 3: so many names that are that are locked down now.
- 3:23Speaker 3: The design guy's last name is also Hunter somewhere if
- 3:26Speaker 3: you like, got it worked his Oh there we go
- 3:29Speaker 3: his way into that into perpetuity.
- 3:32Speaker 2: But it's really cool.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I mean, if we were to sit down a couple
- 3:35Speaker 3: of years ago and say, what would the ultimate aftermarket
- 3:38Speaker 3: and OE collaboration be for me? It would probably still
- 3:41Speaker 3: be a V and RAM or something, but number two
- 3:45Speaker 3: for me would be ARB and Toyota. I mean, they
- 3:48Speaker 3: are just does a seventy series not get an AIRB
- 3:51Speaker 3: bumper at some point in its life?
- 3:52Speaker 1: Exact?
- 3:53Speaker 4: You know?
- 3:53Speaker 3: I mean they are They're so hand in hand and
- 3:55Speaker 3: this this Trail Hunter truthfully kind of was co developed
- 3:59Speaker 3: by ARB. I mean, and they had ARB engineers working
- 4:03Speaker 3: at Toyota, which is so cool.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Really cool. And ARB has in many the same ways
- 4:09Speaker 1: that AEV does. This is a brand that we have
- 4:11Speaker 1: all trusted, We've seen, We've seen just consistent quality, performance, durability.
- 4:18Speaker 1: They do a lot of the same kinds of codings
- 4:20Speaker 1: and finishes as the OEM does, so you know that
- 4:23Speaker 1: the ARB bumper is going to last a while without
- 4:26Speaker 1: being corroded a corroded mess. And then of course they
- 4:29Speaker 1: have the capability of integrating with the safety systems of
- 4:33Speaker 1: the vehicle. So you can see on this trail Hunter
- 4:36Speaker 1: how much ARB is integrated. So you have actually labeled
- 4:41Speaker 1: old man emuse suspension on the trail Hunter, which is
- 4:43Speaker 1: so cool. Clearly ARB would have also been involved with
- 4:47Speaker 1: some of the spring tuning, which this is one of
- 4:50Speaker 1: the questions that we don't have answered yet based upon
- 4:52Speaker 1: the information that we have. I have asked Toyota and
- 4:55Speaker 1: they kind of skirted the question in their reply. But
- 4:58Speaker 1: we don't know what the payload is going to be
- 5:01Speaker 1: on the trail Hunter. There is a lot of good
- 5:03Speaker 1: things to talk about around payload with these vehicles, because
- 5:06Speaker 1: it's a huge improvement, but we actually just don't know
- 5:08Speaker 1: where that one's going to end up at. But if
- 5:10Speaker 1: a RB had anything to do with it as far
- 5:12Speaker 1: as the spring rates, it's probably going to be well
- 5:14Speaker 1: suited to some higher payload numbers.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think it's really brave of Toyota to
- 5:19Speaker 3: kind of split the market between the go fast desert crowd. Yes,
- 5:24Speaker 3: and the overlanding crowd. Yes, I mean, I mean myself
- 5:27Speaker 3: included there. If you wanted kind of that somewhat factory
- 5:32Speaker 3: prepped off road truck, let's go down the lines of
- 5:35Speaker 3: ZR two, raptor TRX. They worked for the overlanding style
- 5:42Speaker 3: travel and it was nice to have those things done
- 5:44Speaker 3: from the factory, but that wasn't their actual purpose. And
- 5:47Speaker 3: there are so many people taking these desert trucks and
- 5:50Speaker 3: trying to make them overlanders and throwing away all that
- 5:53Speaker 3: suspension tuning and throwing away everything that went into it
- 5:55Speaker 3: for the go fast side of things.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I think it's really cool.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I agree the act are quite different, and that was
- 6:01Speaker 1: actually one of the comments in the long form press
- 6:04Speaker 1: release was that Toyota was very intentional about segmenting the
- 6:07Speaker 1: different models. So they have an affordable SR model that
- 6:12Speaker 1: you can get a manual transmission, and they have an
- 6:13Speaker 1: SR five you can get a manual transmission. You can
- 6:16Speaker 1: even get still get the extra cab and that gives
- 6:18Speaker 1: you seventeen hundred pounds of payload. There's some unanswered questions
- 6:21Speaker 1: around that, like can you still get the TRD package
- 6:24Speaker 1: They traditionally had like an option check of I want
- 6:27Speaker 1: the TRD package, which gave you the rear locker, some
- 6:30Speaker 1: slightly different shock absorbers and things like that. There's some
- 6:33Speaker 1: unanswered questions on if you can still do that with
- 6:35Speaker 1: the extra cab, but if you want to maximize payload,
- 6:38Speaker 1: you can get seventeen hundred and nine pounds, which just
- 6:42Speaker 1: ever so slightly beats out the six speed Manual Gladiator
- 6:45Speaker 1: by nine pounds, which is kind of funny.
- 6:47Speaker 3: It's kind of a little Yeah.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I know Toyota well enough where it's almost like they
- 6:53Speaker 1: I think it's just a coincidence. Yeah, I don't really
- 6:55Speaker 1: think that they would be like, oh, we're going to
- 6:57Speaker 1: beat them by nine pounds. I think that it's probably
- 6:59Speaker 1: what it came back. Yeah, yeah, yeah, because Toyota is
- 7:02Speaker 1: you know, they're not They're not that way.
- 7:03Speaker 2: They're a fairly conservative company.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 3: There's there's a lot of different I guess specs and
- 7:09Speaker 3: levels that you can get this truck in. You know,
- 7:10Speaker 3: I'm just looking at at the limited and since I'm
- 7:14Speaker 3: a slut for nice interiors, heated and cooled seats, and
- 7:18Speaker 3: it's a coma.
- 7:19Speaker 1: And it even gets it even gets more interesting because
- 7:22Speaker 1: you get it what you can get with the I
- 7:23Speaker 1: Force Max with an all wheel drive transfer case.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Oh that's kind of cool.
- 7:28Speaker 1: So you end up with this luxury mid sized truck
- 7:31Speaker 1: that has think of your kind of especially with the
- 7:34Speaker 1: I Force Max where you have it, you know the
- 7:35Speaker 1: advantages of it being a hybrid at high elevation. So
- 7:38Speaker 1: you know, you got your ski Mountain, ski Town, get
- 7:40Speaker 1: your heated seats, you got your heated steering wheel, You've
- 7:43Speaker 1: got your all wheel drive, you got four hundred and
- 7:46Speaker 1: sixty five pounds of tork I think.
- 7:48Speaker 3: I mean, but this is the you know, the large
- 7:51Speaker 3: leap forward that we've been hoping and praying, well for
- 7:54Speaker 3: sure from for sure from Toyota. I mean, if they
- 7:57Speaker 3: it would have been very bad news had they taken
- 7:59Speaker 3: the third gen and thrown a different motor in it.
- 8:03Speaker 3: That platform was just getting old and it couldn't keep
- 8:06Speaker 3: up with the competition that was out there. I mean,
- 8:08Speaker 3: if you think about it, in the last couple months,
- 8:11Speaker 3: what we've seen twenty twenty four Ranger and Ranger Raptor
- 8:14Speaker 3: GM and Chevy Colorado and Kenya yep, cheez, and then
- 8:19Speaker 3: this mean people are like, this segment is really really
- 8:23Speaker 3: heating up. And I think that that's really cool.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And the big shot across the bow of the segment
- 8:27Speaker 1: was of course the Gladiator, which had big numbers to
- 8:29Speaker 1: begin with. But this was interesting. I've been doing some
- 8:32Speaker 1: research for this podcast around production numbers, and the Tacoma
- 8:36Speaker 1: is still by far the most sold mid size and
- 8:40Speaker 1: over a lot of brand loyalty. There of over two
- 8:42Speaker 1: hundred thousand units, but the second one in line is
- 8:46Speaker 1: the GM product, so they came in at one hundred
- 8:48Speaker 1: and eleven thousand units, and so they came out of
- 8:50Speaker 1: like last place to second place within a matter of
- 8:54Speaker 1: just a few years. But Gladiator numbers are off a
- 8:56Speaker 1: little bit, but there's still eating competition going for the
- 8:59Speaker 1: glad eighty thousand units of the Gladiator. So the mid
- 9:03Speaker 1: size truck segment is just very popular and there's a
- 9:07Speaker 1: lot of great capability in it now too.
- 9:09Speaker 3: I'm very excited to see what you know. I know
- 9:11Speaker 3: this podcast is focused on the new Tacoma, but we
- 9:14Speaker 3: know that there's upgrades coming to the Gladiator in the
- 9:17Speaker 3: next couple of years. They just announce that they're going
- 9:19Speaker 3: to do the two lead four by E powertrain, which
- 9:22Speaker 3: I think is really cool.
- 9:24Speaker 1: One of my favorite power trains.
- 9:25Speaker 3: On the planet right now, and then they have that
- 9:27Speaker 3: Hurricane Straight six coming that's eventually supposed to make its
- 9:30Speaker 3: way into Gladiator Jeep and all of these things really
- 9:35Speaker 3: really it's it's going to be really fascinating.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, like, what a great time to be
- 9:39Speaker 1: alive as an Overlander.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, we're getting mid sized trucks with some
- 9:42Speaker 3: payload yep.
- 9:43Speaker 1: And I think that one of the things that stood
- 9:46Speaker 1: away from me when I read all of this on
- 9:49Speaker 1: the new Tacoma is it feels like we're finally getting
- 9:53Speaker 1: the high lux back. And I'll explain to a couple
- 9:55Speaker 1: of reasons why that's the case. So this vehicle is
- 9:58Speaker 1: built on the new F series platform, which is what
- 10:02Speaker 1: they build the land Cruiser on. This is going to
- 10:04Speaker 1: be redimensioned, of course for it being a narrower vehicle,
- 10:08Speaker 1: but it is. This is an extreme duty frame that
- 10:12Speaker 1: it's fully boxed, has additional frame members cross members, so
- 10:16Speaker 1: you're going to get away from that frame limitation that
- 10:19Speaker 1: we've had with the Tacoma for so long. It's also
- 10:21Speaker 1: going to have disc brakes in the rear. It's going
- 10:24Speaker 1: to have heavier duty axles. You can see it in
- 10:26Speaker 1: the photographs. These are heavy duty axles.
- 10:28Speaker 3: I'm I'm very interested in this kind of parts swapping
- 10:32Speaker 3: environment between Tundras, Sequoia, land Cruiser Tacoma.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Now, and you had an interesting comment earlier about these
- 10:39Speaker 1: wide track Tacoma.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Yeah, so tierdy Pro and trail Hunter. I guess it's
- 10:44Speaker 3: important to say that we don't have all the information
- 10:47Speaker 3: at this point. We're recording this a couple of days
- 10:50Speaker 3: before in bargo lifts bargo lifts, so some of this
- 10:53Speaker 3: is interpreting what we're seeing and it should be taken
- 10:56Speaker 3: as opinion or speculation. But the trail Hunter and the
- 10:59Speaker 3: tierty or three inches wider than the standard, you know,
- 11:04Speaker 3: and you can't get that through wheel offsets. As a manufacturer.
- 11:08Speaker 3: That's just too much. It really makes me wonder if
- 11:12Speaker 3: these if these vehicles are getting the Tundra front end
- 11:15Speaker 3: on it, are they getting a Tundra rear axle, you know,
- 11:19Speaker 3: because then then you're thinking gross axle weights for their
- 11:23Speaker 3: rear and actual payloads and things.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Maybe they could.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Maybe they could feasibly actually get some decent payload.
- 11:30Speaker 1: It would have to be wider front control arms. So
- 11:33Speaker 1: if you've got a narrower frame overall, than the Tundra,
- 11:36Speaker 1: and then you put the Tundra axles and control arms
- 11:39Speaker 1: on there, you end up with this slightly wider version
- 11:42Speaker 1: of a Tacoma.
- 11:43Speaker 3: I think your thoughts are very It would be interesting.
- 11:45Speaker 3: I mean, we've seen that happen in the aftermarket. You
- 11:48Speaker 3: could take the Titan stuff and swap that onto the frontier.
- 11:52Speaker 2: It would all maybe seem to work.
- 11:54Speaker 3: I mean, heck, you could do that on the Lankers
- 11:56Speaker 3: or two where you take the Tundra right front control
- 11:58Speaker 3: arms put them on the two hundred series land cruiser
- 12:01Speaker 3: and it was like a factory long travel kit.
- 12:03Speaker 2: That's that's interesting, you know.
- 12:05Speaker 3: I think, while we're on the subject of this trail hunter,
- 12:08Speaker 3: it doesn't have an airb front bumper. It has an
- 12:10Speaker 3: airb rear bumper, and they really hype it up and
- 12:12Speaker 3: it looks great.
- 12:13Speaker 1: It does, and the and the recovery points.
- 12:15Speaker 3: And I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm going to give them
- 12:17Speaker 3: some grace on this, and I think that everybody else
- 12:19Speaker 3: should too. It is really really hard to get, you know,
- 12:23Speaker 3: pedestrian and safety certifications for this kind of stuff. Oh,
- 12:27Speaker 3: you have to you have to be looking forward and
- 12:29Speaker 3: having reserve capacity for the legislation that's that maybe manufacturers
- 12:33Speaker 3: know is coming, you know, so we knew that this
- 12:36Speaker 3: trail Hunter concept was kind of coming out. In my mind,
- 12:39Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, it's going to have, you know, the
- 12:41Speaker 3: ARB bumper on the front. Well, I think you just
- 12:43Speaker 3: do that aftermarket and you throw away the plastic bumper
- 12:46Speaker 3: that's on there, which does look different and kind of cool.
- 12:48Speaker 1: And given aarb's involvement with the package, they probably already
- 12:52Speaker 1: have it in boxes ready to get probably is so
- 12:55Speaker 1: we may even see it at the Overland exprom this
- 12:57Speaker 1: next week. The rock rails look pretty cool. They look
- 13:00Speaker 1: and they're frame mounted, so they're very durable rock rails.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Do we want to kind of go through the trail
- 13:04Speaker 1: Hunter specs?
- 13:06Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 13:06Speaker 1: Yeah, So it looks it looks like that the trail
- 13:09Speaker 1: Hunter is only going to be available in the I
- 13:11Speaker 1: Force Max. You're going to get maximum fuel economy, but
- 13:14Speaker 1: you're only going to get the automatic, so you're not
- 13:16Speaker 1: going to be able to get a manual transmission. The
- 13:18Speaker 1: one thing I found most interesting, and this is there's
- 13:20Speaker 1: a bunch of nuggets kind of deep into some of
- 13:23Speaker 1: the copy on the press release. But you can get
- 13:26Speaker 1: the trail Hunter in a double cab long bed, so
- 13:29Speaker 1: that's going to clearly be the overland variant. So you
- 13:32Speaker 1: have a six foot bed for a full length go
- 13:34Speaker 1: Fast camper or some other lightweight camper system, You're going
- 13:38Speaker 1: to end up with a lot of storage space. Overall.
- 13:41Speaker 1: You end up with two and a half inch diameter
- 13:43Speaker 1: old Man EMU monitube position sensitive shock absorbers and they
- 13:47Speaker 1: do have piggyback style remote reservoirs on them. You've got
- 13:51Speaker 1: the trail Hunter Forge aluminum upper control arms. They're bronze color.
- 13:56Speaker 1: That's what I was laughing at. Then you have a
- 13:58Speaker 1: locking room differential super key. This is a this is
- 14:01Speaker 1: a big update.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Oh I know what you're gonna say, Yeah, say it
- 14:05Speaker 3: front swavebar disconnect. I know it's such a big deal.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I should say that in a sexier voice from the
- 14:11Speaker 3: swavebar disconnect. Go slowly, Matt, slowly. But it's like what
- 14:15Speaker 3: we just tested on the new Grand Cherokee, where you
- 14:17Speaker 3: have this driver activated front swave bar disconnect. And this
- 14:22Speaker 3: is what's interesting to me, is I suspect that this
- 14:24Speaker 3: is only going to be available with the five link
- 14:26Speaker 3: rear end and what we saw on the Tundra was
- 14:28Speaker 3: less articulation out of the rear end with the five
- 14:31Speaker 3: link than we saw with the leaf springs, and that's
- 14:34Speaker 3: because of the positioning of the shocks. The shocks are
- 14:36Speaker 3: positioned outside of the frame, which limits packaging, and because
- 14:40Speaker 3: it's further outside the frame, they'd have to be much
- 14:43Speaker 3: longer in order to provide the same amount of articulation.
- 14:46Speaker 3: You probably have less articulation with the five link rear,
- 14:50Speaker 3: which means they had to address it somehow, and they
- 14:52Speaker 3: did it by adding the swavebar disconnect in the front,
- 14:55Speaker 3: which according to the literature says you get a ten
- 14:58Speaker 3: percent increase in ramp travel.
- 15:00Speaker 2: And I think that that's super cool.
- 15:01Speaker 1: It also just and it should should write a lot better.
- 15:04Speaker 3: I think that's us you know, having experienced this on
- 15:07Speaker 3: jeeps that I've owned, that's the real, you know ticket
- 15:11Speaker 3: thing here. Four wheel drive, you know, turn that front
- 15:14Speaker 3: sway bar off, and it's just when you as an occupant,
- 15:17Speaker 3: you can feel it.
- 15:18Speaker 1: When you're off, you're not getting tossed around. It makes
- 15:20Speaker 1: a big difference in in in off road ride comfort.
- 15:23Speaker 2: So auxiliary DC switches is kind of cool.
- 15:27Speaker 1: You know.
- 15:27Speaker 3: We've seen that historically from you know, I think Ford
- 15:30Speaker 3: really was the one that led that Jeep and Ram
- 15:33Speaker 3: and all of those guys came along. Super cool because
- 15:36Speaker 3: anybody that's modifying their truck lights whatever can take advantage
- 15:41Speaker 3: of that. And I really support it because I have
- 15:43Speaker 3: seen too many trucks burned down from sketchy wiring and
- 15:46Speaker 3: it's really started to change in this s pod switch
- 15:49Speaker 3: pro trigger system kind of era, and I think that
- 15:52Speaker 3: those things are fantastic. I just noticed heated in cool
- 15:55Speaker 3: seats on Trail Hunter and Tierty Pro. It's just kind
- 15:58Speaker 3: of a nice thing.
- 15:59Speaker 4: You know.
- 16:00Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, you think that cool seats are ridiculous
- 16:02Speaker 1: until you try it and you're like, oh my god.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Almost rather, I mean, living in Arizona, cool seats are
- 16:07Speaker 3: right now.
- 16:07Speaker 2: They're so good thing.
- 16:08Speaker 1: They're so good well, and thirty three inch good Year
- 16:10Speaker 1: Territory tires, which I have found to be a nice
- 16:13Speaker 1: hybrid tire. They're not they're kind of mud terrainy, they're
- 16:15Speaker 1: kind of alterraany. They're really a nice balance and thirty
- 16:19Speaker 1: three inches in diameter. The one thing that's a little
- 16:21Speaker 1: bit of a hm is the eighteen inch wheels. Yeah,
- 16:24Speaker 1: we've talked about this on the podcast before. But you
- 16:26Speaker 1: want the tire wheel package to be as close to
- 16:29Speaker 1: as possible, the tires being twice the diameter of the wheels,
- 16:34Speaker 1: So with them being an eighteen inch wheel, you need
- 16:37Speaker 1: to have a thirty six inch diameter tire in order
- 16:39Speaker 1: to hit that optimal balance. It could be something to
- 16:42Speaker 1: do with the break packaging.
- 16:44Speaker 3: It could be we're not so solvable in the aftermarket.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Right, you know, and hopefully so seventeen inch wheels are
- 16:50Speaker 1: a better choice. I can see the eighteen inch wheels
- 16:52Speaker 1: on the TIERD Pro because it's very much a go
- 16:54Speaker 1: fast truck.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Now, it's the brakes, right I mean, and we're probably
- 16:58Speaker 3: seeing a lot of ton direct components. Again, this is
- 17:01Speaker 3: very early days, but I would have to think Toyota
- 17:05Speaker 3: has this history of parts sharing and not developing products
- 17:10Speaker 3: that are already developed components.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I should say, who heads up Display too.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Liked you liked the rigid white amber switchable LED lights,
- 17:19Speaker 1: So that was interesting.
- 17:19Speaker 3: It's super cool because the yellow is obviously nice for
- 17:23Speaker 3: when it's severe fog, rain or rain or whatever. I mean,
- 17:27Speaker 3: you can you can have a little bit of individuality there,
- 17:30Speaker 3: and it's just a I think it's just a different
- 17:32Speaker 3: chip that goes in there that switchable. So I think
- 17:35Speaker 3: that that's a kind of a cool innovation and it
- 17:38Speaker 3: does come. Actually, I would love to see that stuff
- 17:40Speaker 3: more in the aftermarket, and it's cool to see that
- 17:42Speaker 3: happening here.
- 17:44Speaker 1: So I'll definitely be watching Rigid And there's an integrated
- 17:47Speaker 1: LED light bar in the grill. The Trail Hunter has
- 17:51Speaker 1: the frame mounted rock rails. It has an ARB steel
- 17:54Speaker 1: roar bumper. The recovery hooks are They look to be
- 17:57Speaker 1: full gross vehicle weight rating, if not higher rating. It
- 18:01Speaker 1: looks like they run down the frame members, so they've
- 18:03Speaker 1: got to be just and it looks like they're super
- 18:06Speaker 1: heavy duty ARB aftermarket recovery points, which have been legendary
- 18:11Speaker 1: for quality. The bed utility bar not really digging that.
- 18:15Speaker 1: You can see it in the photos. Will put those
- 18:17Speaker 1: into the podcast.
- 18:18Speaker 3: But oh yeah, kind of TRX like it's very like nineties.
- 18:22Speaker 1: I get it on the TRD Pro, but it doesn't
- 18:24Speaker 1: make any sense on the Trail Hunter. Yeah, so that
- 18:26Speaker 1: would end up beating.
- 18:27Speaker 3: I did read that they're going to have a kind
- 18:29Speaker 3: of that Baha bar style thing and then they'll have
- 18:31Speaker 3: a full length Oh that'd maybe that's an option, you know,
- 18:34Speaker 3: But think about this, like if I was, you know,
- 18:37Speaker 3: I am in the automotive aftermarket for work. I'm looking
- 18:39Speaker 3: at this and I'm like, you know, yeah, people are
- 18:42Speaker 3: probably still going to mess with them, but we're getting
- 18:44Speaker 3: a track that out of the box, like i mean
- 18:47Speaker 3: from the dealer, you can get you know, an engineer bedrack.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Just all of this stuff. Yeah, you know, I mean
- 18:52Speaker 1: they're put it all into your payment, put it all
- 18:54Speaker 1: into your warranty.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it'll be interesting.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I mean definitely from you know, people that we've talked
- 19:00Speaker 3: to and on the OE side, like they recognize how
- 19:03Speaker 3: much money they're losing by not having that stuff, you know,
- 19:07Speaker 3: go out of their door versus the aftermarket, and.
- 19:11Speaker 1: We're seeing them do it. Yeah, across the board.
- 19:14Speaker 3: I mean I'm looking at this and I'm like, woait,
- 19:15Speaker 3: Like Tacoma thirty three's, Like yeah, maybe thirty five's and
- 19:19Speaker 3: a little lyft and whatever, But like, do you actually
- 19:21Speaker 3: need to anymore? Not really, you know, does it become
- 19:25Speaker 3: more of a matter of personal styling at that point?
- 19:29Speaker 3: Maybe on jeeps that's still very much the kids. Yeah, yeah,
- 19:33Speaker 3: should we hop over to Tierdy pro.
- 19:35Speaker 1: In one moment, because there's one more thing I wanted
- 19:37Speaker 1: to talk about, which was interesting, so from the Overlander perspective,
- 19:41Speaker 1: because it's the I Force Max. It has a twenty
- 19:43Speaker 1: four hundred watt inverter in the bed. So when you've
- 19:46Speaker 1: got your camper system, you have a twelve OL outlet
- 19:48Speaker 1: in the bed and a twenty four hundred two fled outlet.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I'm super excited for because well, it's a pain to
- 19:54Speaker 3: have to do that in the aftermarket.
- 19:55Speaker 1: If you want to put a fridge back there or whatever.
- 19:58Speaker 1: It's already done. It's this gigantic battery pack. So what
- 20:02Speaker 1: I'm curious of is does the hybrid battery pack it's
- 20:07Speaker 1: like one point eight KILLO wats I can't run.
- 20:09Speaker 2: It's a nickel metal hydride battery pack.
- 20:11Speaker 4: It is.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a one point eighty seven kilowatt hour.
- 20:16Speaker 3: I think the jeep's doing that on the four by
- 20:17Speaker 3: ease now, but it's AC only it's not twelve O.
- 20:22Speaker 1: But that's the that's the cool thing. You could have
- 20:24Speaker 1: this twenty four hundred y inverter running off of the
- 20:27Speaker 1: built in batteries in the high quol.
- 20:29Speaker 3: I mean it could be that's that's that's your Honda
- 20:32Speaker 3: generator totally bring with you.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you no longer have to. Well, think of
- 20:36Speaker 1: the stuff that can run off of that battery pack.
- 20:38Speaker 1: That's a big battery pack. You could run an air
- 20:40Speaker 1: conditioner for a period of time off of that. You
- 20:42Speaker 1: could run compressors, you could run do all of your
- 20:45Speaker 1: charging of your electronic devices. You could at twenty four
- 20:48Speaker 1: hundred watchs, you could run an induction cook top. So
- 20:51Speaker 1: you could integrate all of that with just the factory
- 20:53Speaker 1: system within the truck. Which think about it, it doesn't
- 20:56Speaker 1: add any more weight.
- 20:57Speaker 2: It would be really cool if I could run off
- 20:58Speaker 2: of that.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Yeah. So those are some hopeful insights. So now you
- 21:02Speaker 1: want to you're digging the tird pro a little bit.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Well, actually, the thing I just noticed too is integrated
- 21:07Speaker 3: high output air compressor in the bed. Yeah, on the
- 21:10Speaker 3: trail Hunter. Again, it's like one less thing that you
- 21:12Speaker 3: have to do. Just buy the thing and go use it. Yeah, exactly.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that you know the tierdy Pro. Yeah, it interests me.
- 21:20Speaker 1: I mean it seems like the seats are of real interesting.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Yes, okay, so there are what.
- 21:24Speaker 3: I'm going to make sure I and none see it
- 21:26Speaker 3: this correctly. ISO Dynamic performance seat. It looks interesting. It's like,
- 21:32Speaker 3: I get it. So you work so much with the
- 21:34Speaker 3: chassis and if you're trying to improve ride quality and
- 21:37Speaker 3: you only have so much within the packaging and the vehicle,
- 21:39Speaker 3: you can only get so much wheel travel. I mean,
- 21:42Speaker 3: just like unimogs do, commercial trucks do. I mean guaranteed
- 21:45Speaker 3: the UPS or FedEx driver that delivers your packages has
- 21:48Speaker 3: a you know, suspended seat and a suspended seat. It's
- 21:51Speaker 3: interesting to see it in this. I hope that people
- 21:53Speaker 3: realize that that it doesn't actually make your cargo any faster.
- 21:57Speaker 3: It's just it's gonna be comfortable thing. And it looks
- 22:00Speaker 3: a bit it's there's some a bit like nineteen nineties
- 22:03Speaker 3: Fast and the Furious or I guess early two thousands
- 22:06Speaker 3: like it.
- 22:06Speaker 1: It's very fast and the Furious and it even has
- 22:08Speaker 1: little gauges on it probably that show like the amount
- 22:11Speaker 1: of travel that you're so like, imagine your poor passenger
- 22:14Speaker 1: in the back of the front of There's the problem
- 22:17Speaker 1: with all of this is that now when you go
- 22:19Speaker 1: to like cars and coffee or whatever, you.
- 22:21Speaker 4: Know, yeah, basically I have a trophy truck, you know,
- 22:23Speaker 4: like I've only got ten inches of travel. But you know,
- 22:26Speaker 4: I've got these isodynamic seats and it's basically a trophy truck.
- 22:30Speaker 4: You know, it's trophy truck technology, and and people aren't
- 22:33Speaker 4: going to shut up about it, and that's going to
- 22:35Speaker 4: be right well, and then they're going to drive it
- 22:36Speaker 4: like a trophy truck. Yeah, yeah, they're going to it's
- 22:38Speaker 4: still a tacoma underneath, like, which is not to take
- 22:41Speaker 4: anything away from the car. It's not a trophy truck.
- 22:43Speaker 1: So it may keep them out of the hospital possibly,
- 22:46Speaker 1: but it's not going to save the truck.
- 22:47Speaker 3: It'll be interesting to see if with this people start
- 22:52Speaker 3: to overdrive them. Yeah, because you know, all of a sudden,
- 22:57Speaker 3: it would require some careful marketing.
- 22:59Speaker 1: It's an interesting edition.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it might.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Work really really well, but it is at this point
- 23:05Speaker 3: a little left field.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Yeah. Maybe you know that the as long as somebody
- 23:09Speaker 1: comes up with like some thoughtful little covers for it
- 23:12Speaker 1: so you don't have to like stare at the it
- 23:14Speaker 1: looks it looks like the t series, like Arnold Schwarzenegger,
- 23:18Speaker 1: like like.
- 23:19Speaker 2: His neck shots or something like.
- 23:22Speaker 3: They're they're they're interesting and I'm sure people will geek
- 23:24Speaker 3: out about it.
- 23:25Speaker 1: No, it's it's a cool technology.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Like I said, gunamous use that, Yeah, same in a different,
- 23:31Speaker 3: different application.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I get it. It's just it is different. It's such
- 23:35Speaker 1: a unique thing. I mean. But it also, like you said,
- 23:38Speaker 1: it further differentiates TRD Pro as the go fast vehicle. Yeah,
- 23:43Speaker 1: and it's three inches wider. It's an inch and a
- 23:46Speaker 1: half to two inches taller than the standard Tacoma thirty
- 23:50Speaker 1: three inch tall tires. So it's it's clearly meant for
- 23:54Speaker 1: and fox internal bypass switching.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Shocks that would be very similar to what's on the
- 24:00Speaker 3: the current new generation Tundra. It's interesting a lot of
- 24:04Speaker 3: this stuff kind of parallels the Trail Hunter. You still
- 24:07Speaker 3: get the airb steel rear bumper, the fog lights, and
- 24:11Speaker 3: a lot of that kind of thing.
- 24:12Speaker 1: But it is interesting because they have an aluminum front
- 24:14Speaker 1: skid plate on the TIERD Pro and a hot hot
- 24:17Speaker 1: stamp steel skid plate on the Trail Hunter. So they're
- 24:20Speaker 1: trying to to have some differentiation in actual functionality.
- 24:24Speaker 3: It's just like the TIERD Pro has become inherently less
- 24:28Speaker 3: interesting to me.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yeah, because the Trail Hunter really solves it. In their documentation.
- 24:32Speaker 1: They actually refer to it as their overland vehicle. So yeah,
- 24:38Speaker 1: it's a factory developed Overlander straight from Toyota. That's Toyota's
- 24:42Speaker 1: words so clearly, and we heard it at SIMA last
- 24:45Speaker 1: year with the VP of Marketing saying Toyota is all
- 24:48Speaker 1: in on overlanding. Yeah, and it's very clear that they're
- 24:51Speaker 1: all in on overlanding. And this is the part the
- 24:54Speaker 1: ten page press release. Yeah.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Probably.
- 24:56Speaker 3: You know, you could play a game every time Toyota
- 24:58Speaker 3: says overlanding, take a shot.
- 24:59Speaker 1: You will make it. You wouldn't make it to the end,
- 25:01Speaker 1: which is a good thing. And this is when it's
- 25:03Speaker 1: so funny when people will say, like we're at peak overlanding.
- 25:06Speaker 1: We haven't even started right now, the OEMs are actually
- 25:09Speaker 1: getting into overlanding, which of course it can make it
- 25:12Speaker 1: very I.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Think we hit peak bolting stuff onto your truck for
- 25:15Speaker 3: no purpose.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Maybe hopefully, you know.
- 25:18Speaker 3: I think there's a lot of a lot of board
- 25:20Speaker 3: people during the pandemic. But so here's what I want
- 25:23Speaker 3: to talk about on Tierdy Pro and Trail Hunter, because
- 25:25Speaker 3: I do want to dedicate time to Tierty Sport, Tierty
- 25:29Speaker 3: off Road because realistically, for most people, those are going
- 25:32Speaker 3: to be the best boy at.
- 25:33Speaker 1: SR five TRD off Road. Yeah, if it's available, it
- 25:36Speaker 1: isn't clear that it is, so we still don't know there's.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Can get full build spec sheet available.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Yeah, we just don't quite know. If you can get
- 25:44Speaker 1: the I Force Extra cab SR five with the TRD package,
- 25:49Speaker 1: which would include the rear locker and a manual transmission,
- 25:52Speaker 1: if you could, that'd be the Scotti spec. Yeah, white
- 25:55Speaker 1: truck extra cab seventeen. And I'm looking at this tird
- 25:59Speaker 1: off road. But here's what I want to talk about.
- 26:01Speaker 1: I just tried to buy a Tundra TIERD pro. Okay,
- 26:05Speaker 1: they end up being I think they're sixty nine thousand
- 26:09Speaker 1: and change in SRP. But here's the problem. Dealer markup.
- 26:13Speaker 1: And this is something that is seriously going to affect
- 26:16Speaker 1: this New Tacoma. Obviously know a lot of people are
- 26:18Speaker 1: interested in them. It is a significant upgrade, so there's
- 26:22Speaker 1: going to be a lot of interest. These days pretty standard.
- 26:25Speaker 3: If there's interest in the truck, you're looking anywhere from
- 26:28Speaker 3: a five to fifteen thousand dollars markup. I wouldn't it
- 26:31Speaker 3: wouldn't surprise me if the first ones on the lot,
- 26:34Speaker 3: you know, in southern California are even selling for more
- 26:36Speaker 3: of that.
- 26:37Speaker 2: So this is where I want to go.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Why I like the Tierty off Road is you're probably
- 26:42Speaker 3: not going to pay a dealer markup on a Tierty
- 26:45Speaker 3: off Road. The Tierdy Pro, the trail Hunter, you know,
- 26:47Speaker 3: they're going to be more expensive. Pricing, to be very clear,
- 26:51Speaker 3: has not been released yet, but to me, these seam
- 26:54Speaker 3: like trucks that are going to be in the high
- 26:57Speaker 3: fifties low sixties range by looking at you know, competitive
- 27:01Speaker 3: comparisons where the current vehicle is priced, So you know,
- 27:04Speaker 3: at high fifties, low sixties for this trail Hunter. Cool, great,
- 27:09Speaker 3: but it's really gonna be probably seventies or eighties. And
- 27:14Speaker 3: that is just a reality of where we are right now.
- 27:18Speaker 1: At what point to do, like consumer advocacy groups come
- 27:22Speaker 1: in and put some pressure on these dealers. I mean,
- 27:25Speaker 1: they're just so bad. Well, they're just abusing consumers. It's
- 27:28Speaker 1: not Toyota's fault. Toyota sets the ambasar my Toyota dealer. Like,
- 27:32Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, cool.
- 27:33Speaker 3: You know they told me twenty five hundred to thirty
- 27:36Speaker 3: seven hundred oversticker was their local singing. I'm like okay, cool,
- 27:40Speaker 3: Like I'm fine with that, and then I get the
- 27:42Speaker 3: out the door price and you know there's a ten
- 27:45Speaker 3: thousand dollars thing thrown on there in a two thousand
- 27:47Speaker 3: dollars tint package and of this and a that and whatever,
- 27:50Speaker 3: and it's like it's predatory. I mean like buying a
- 27:53Speaker 3: car from a new car dealer ninety five percent of
- 27:58Speaker 3: the time. Really really, it's like there's so many pain points,
- 28:02Speaker 3: that's so many different things, and then there's not even
- 28:04Speaker 3: the interest.
- 28:05Speaker 1: It's almost like it's their tactic. They abuse you so
- 28:08Speaker 1: much that you finally.
- 28:09Speaker 3: I would love to just go online and be because
- 28:12Speaker 3: you're everybody's building trucks these days anyways, because of the
- 28:14Speaker 3: lead time, so you get exactly what you want. You know,
- 28:17Speaker 3: cut the dealers out of it, like let them, let them,
- 28:19Speaker 3: let them service cars, because that's where they make their
- 28:21Speaker 3: money anyways. And you know, it's like the people that
- 28:24Speaker 3: couldn't become cell phone salesmen ninety nine percent of the
- 28:27Speaker 3: time become car salesmen.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Like there's great ones out there.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Oh absolutely, you know, and there's great dealer experiences, like
- 28:34Speaker 1: like if you go to a Lexus dealer, you have
- 28:35Speaker 1: a different experience. Yeah, but it is fact you know,
- 28:38Speaker 1: Ford has been enforcing these pricing gouging, trying to no. No.
- 28:44Speaker 3: The other truck I tried to go and buy was
- 28:46Speaker 3: a Tremor. You try and buy a tremor right now.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Twenty thousand dollars over sticker is what I was getting
- 28:51Speaker 3: out of Phoenix and the dealer here in Prescott. I
- 28:54Speaker 3: mean we're talking about the tremor. Yeah, it's got some
- 28:56Speaker 3: unique front springs and it's got tuned gas shock absorbers,
- 29:00Speaker 3: like I mean, there's maybe one thousand dollars of value
- 29:03Speaker 3: there and your charge winch. The winch is three nine
- 29:07Speaker 3: ninety nine dollars after market, got it fitted at the dealer,
- 29:11Speaker 3: not on the assembly line. My point being is at MSRP,
- 29:15Speaker 3: these vehicles can be great value. I think to have
- 29:18Speaker 3: it just all done is really really cool. And then
- 29:21Speaker 3: you make your little tweaks and stuff from there. But again,
- 29:24Speaker 3: how much of this stuff are you going to be
- 29:26Speaker 3: taking off?
- 29:26Speaker 1: Anyways?
- 29:27Speaker 3: And then if you throw that five, ten, fifteen thousand
- 29:31Speaker 3: dollars dealer you know, added markup on there. Well, so
- 29:34Speaker 3: then do they do they actually become relevant? Because that
- 29:37Speaker 3: truck at seventy or eighty those like there's somebody that's
- 29:40Speaker 3: going to be driving a Tierty off road in the forties,
- 29:43Speaker 3: solidly equipped, and then you ask yourself, hmm, is it
- 29:46Speaker 3: worth thirty or forty thousand dollars extra? Because that's what
- 29:50Speaker 3: it ends up being. And again we don't know final numbers,
- 29:53Speaker 3: but if Toyota is listening, that's going to be a
- 29:56Speaker 3: pain point for consumers.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Well, and what we can do on the podcast because
- 30:00Speaker 1: of the size of the audience, If anybody knows of
- 30:02Speaker 1: a dealership that doesn't gouge their customers that sells at
- 30:05Speaker 1: MSRP for a Toyota dealership, let us know, Yeah, we'll
- 30:08Speaker 1: put it out there. We'll give that, we will gladly
- 30:11Speaker 1: support that dealership one hundred percent.
- 30:13Speaker 3: And I think, you know, while I'm on my soapbox
- 30:16Speaker 3: looking at that Tundra Tierty Pro, I mean you could
- 30:19Speaker 3: like grab the front and grill and move it.
- 30:21Speaker 2: It was so plastic key.
- 30:23Speaker 3: So I really really hope that with the Tacoma they
- 30:27Speaker 3: have listened to their traditional customers who are saying, oh man,
- 30:30Speaker 3: the styling and that's a little bit weird.
- 30:32Speaker 2: The build quality is a little bit weird.
- 30:34Speaker 3: I mean, for the first time we're seeing Toyota having
- 30:36Speaker 3: reliability issues when they launched it. How much of that
- 30:39Speaker 3: is just pandemic, supply chain chaos whatever, I don't.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Know, you know, yeah, any reliability issues to be a
- 30:46Speaker 1: short run for Toyota, I hope so.
- 30:49Speaker 3: Yeah, but these vehicles are getting up there in price,
- 30:53Speaker 3: and again when you throw the reality of the current
- 30:56Speaker 3: market with these dealer adms, I hope that the build
- 31:00Speaker 3: quality is worth the squeeze. You know that they're asking
- 31:03Speaker 3: for price because you know, I know that a Gladiator,
- 31:05Speaker 3: for example, the build quality is actually really really good
- 31:08Speaker 3: on it. I know on that, you know, the Chevy stuff,
- 31:10Speaker 3: the build quality has improved hugely, hugely, it's not a word,
- 31:13Speaker 3: but we'll see.
- 31:15Speaker 1: And then they've also done well on some of the
- 31:18Speaker 1: reliability rankings ansonly.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, so people are people are nipping on the toes.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Interesting to see where it goes.
- 31:24Speaker 1: But the Tacoma that we're looking at right here is
- 31:26Speaker 1: I mean, I'm looking at the photo of it right now,
- 31:28Speaker 1: it's just it's just, I mean, raise their intake. It
- 31:32Speaker 1: looks like a prince whose style rack on the top.
- 31:34Speaker 1: It's like thirty three inch tall tires, skid plates, rock rails,
- 31:38Speaker 1: lockers like sweet like everything seriously and seriously cool. You know,
- 31:43Speaker 1: I do hope you're right, and I think this is
- 31:46Speaker 1: the way that I feel too. I really hope that
- 31:48Speaker 1: we can get that seventeen hundred pound payload extra cab. Yeah,
- 31:52Speaker 1: SR five with a locker and a manual. Please, Toyota, like,
- 31:57Speaker 1: give us the Scotti spec. That's what that's the truck
- 31:59Speaker 1: that I want.
- 32:00Speaker 3: So let's let's go on to this TRD off Road.
- 32:04Speaker 3: I'm going to read some of the specs from the sheet.
- 32:06Speaker 3: It gets the IE Force engine as standards. So we
- 32:09Speaker 3: actually really haven't talked about the Force Max. Now U
- 32:12Speaker 3: seeing Tier off Road Tierty off Road you got it.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Two hundred and seventy eight horsepower, three hundred and seventeen
- 32:17Speaker 3: pound feet of torque, and a manual transmission is available.
- 32:21Speaker 2: To me, that's really exciting.
- 32:23Speaker 3: I love the idea of a you know, kind of
- 32:25Speaker 3: that base Ta coma that's just charming and cool and
- 32:29Speaker 3: works and you can take it anywhere. You can get
- 32:31Speaker 3: the eye Force Max that obviously comes with the eight
- 32:34Speaker 3: speed automatic that gives you more power. That's three hundred
- 32:37Speaker 3: and twenty six horse power and four hundred and sixty
- 32:40Speaker 3: five pound feet of torque. It's worth noting you lose
- 32:43Speaker 3: a couple horsepower and a couple pound feet of torqu
- 32:45Speaker 3: when you go to a six feet and just a couple.
- 32:48Speaker 3: It's not that big of a deal. It's probably tuning
- 32:51Speaker 3: related or something like that. TIERD off Road gets you
- 32:54Speaker 3: for the first time remote reservoir shocks. Bill Stein's Again,
- 32:58Speaker 3: for most people, that's kind of cool, but you're not
- 33:00Speaker 3: also then paying a bunch of money for you know,
- 33:05Speaker 3: the fox stuff if you don't need it. If you
- 33:07Speaker 3: don't need it, Although I will say if the Tierdy
- 33:10Speaker 3: Pro and the Trail Hunter do come with those wider
- 33:12Speaker 3: front control arms and wider rear axle like that could
- 33:16Speaker 3: maybe steer me towards that those vehicles.
- 33:18Speaker 1: But sometimes you don't. You just don't need the wheel
- 33:21Speaker 1: travel and you don't. I wouldn't with I wouldn't want
- 33:23Speaker 1: the or the.
- 33:24Speaker 3: Cause then you're you're talking full size truck in a
- 33:28Speaker 3: mid size platform, which is believe me, the amalgamation of
- 33:31Speaker 3: parts really cool. Available thirty three inch tires on the
- 33:35Speaker 3: TIERD off Road, I think that that's really cool.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Seventeen inch wheels you can get them.
- 33:39Speaker 3: On seventeen or eighteen's electronic rear locker, front stabilizer bar disconnected.
- 33:44Speaker 1: But it just seems that to me. Yes, the trail
- 33:47Speaker 1: Hunter is cool.
- 33:48Speaker 3: The Tierdy Pro is just kind of a continuation of
- 33:51Speaker 3: a model that we already know. But this TIERD off
- 33:54Speaker 3: Road has all of the exciting kind of elements to it.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Man, that's except for the only thing throws me off
- 34:01Speaker 1: is it just says double cab only, And it's like,
- 34:04Speaker 1: can you get the TRD off Road in the extra cab?
- 34:07Speaker 2: Well, right here it says double cab only.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, so like for me, for dog people
- 34:11Speaker 3: double cabs, that's the only consideration.
- 34:14Speaker 1: My thought is can you just get can you just
- 34:16Speaker 1: option in the rear locker? Can you just like click
- 34:20Speaker 1: the option for the rear locker on an SR five?
- 34:23Speaker 1: So extra cab, I think it doesn't say it.
- 34:26Speaker 3: So on the SR five it looks like the only
- 34:28Speaker 3: way that you can get the multilink rear suspensions of
- 34:30Speaker 3: the five link it's going to be a tun draw
- 34:33Speaker 3: lankers or esque is on the double cab. So I
- 34:37Speaker 3: do like that they're still offering the landscaping truck. Yeah,
- 34:41Speaker 3: you know, I think that that's really the truck I
- 34:43Speaker 3: want that's really I want the manual transmission SR five
- 34:46Speaker 3: extra cab seventeen in wheel. I mean, there's a huge,
- 34:49Speaker 3: a huge range of stuff here. There is pretty cool.
- 34:52Speaker 3: It is, it's very cool, you know. And for the
- 34:54Speaker 3: pre Runner guys, there is a TRD pre Runner if
- 34:58Speaker 3: you're going to build it into a little a will
- 35:00Speaker 3: go fast truck on your own.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:02Speaker 3: And they did keep the leaf springs on that, which
- 35:05Speaker 3: is going to just be easier to get more travel
- 35:07Speaker 3: out of and cheaper to do so. With these multilink
- 35:11Speaker 3: coil rear ends, you're there's there's packaging problems on trying
- 35:15Speaker 3: to get too much. We'll travel out of it usually.
- 35:19Speaker 3: But you know, I'm really excited about the engines that
- 35:23Speaker 3: that Like, was it a three leader V six that
- 35:25Speaker 3: they had three point five three point five it it
- 35:27Speaker 3: did its job, you know, in stock form, it was
- 35:30Speaker 3: pretty fuel efficient.
- 35:31Speaker 1: It was literally the first gear in the automatic that
- 35:34Speaker 1: killed it. Yeah, once you're going, it was fine but fine.
- 35:37Speaker 1: I mean, I'm so excited that the aftermarket's huge for
- 35:40Speaker 1: the Tacoma and I like messing with stuff. Yeah, and
- 35:45Speaker 1: you know.
- 35:45Speaker 3: I can't help to think, but you know, cob or
- 35:48Speaker 3: some of these engine tuning companies, with Toyota being fairly
- 35:52Speaker 3: conservative two point four leaders producing two hundred and seventy
- 35:55Speaker 3: eight horsepower. Boy, yeah, imagine imagine some boltons that could
- 35:59Speaker 3: get you reliably thirty or forty horsepower, or you just.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Do the I force max and you're at three hundred
- 36:05Speaker 1: and twenty six horse power. That's crazy number. Those are
- 36:07Speaker 1: crazy numbers out of a mid size, crazy numbers.
- 36:10Speaker 3: I mean, I guess they have to because this EV
- 36:12Speaker 3: wave is coming. And you know, I mean look at
- 36:14Speaker 3: the Rivian like ye here to sixty and three seconds
- 36:17Speaker 3: or something, right, electric is just really quick.
- 36:20Speaker 1: The one thing that I noted was with the with
- 36:22Speaker 1: the I force Max that the torque is nearly double
- 36:26Speaker 1: what the outgoing Atkinson cycle motor is. Yeah, that's incredible.
- 36:30Speaker 3: It'll be good. And you know, the tacoma. We're obviously
- 36:32Speaker 3: really big here on sticking within that gross vehicle weight.
- 36:36Speaker 3: We know through experience that that is where vehicles perform
- 36:40Speaker 3: the best.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Well, it just keeps you from getting in a bunch
- 36:42Speaker 1: of trouble if you get.
- 36:43Speaker 2: In an accident.
- 36:43Speaker 3: But people do overload the crop out of their tacoma's
- 36:46Speaker 3: historically speaking, they take it. Yeah, I mean, anytime you
- 36:50Speaker 3: see a slightly built Tacoma with a four wheel camper
- 36:53Speaker 3: on the back, they're probably you know, fifty to one
- 36:56Speaker 3: hundred percent over their GVWR and it just works. So
- 36:59Speaker 3: now we're getting in theory are redesigned, stronger chassis shared
- 37:02Speaker 3: with lancreas or Tundra, et cetera, more horsepower, more tork,
- 37:06Speaker 3: bigger breaks, bigger breaks, like all of these things.
- 37:09Speaker 1: That they're addressing it handily addressing are feedback.
- 37:13Speaker 2: I'm sure, I am.
- 37:15Speaker 3: So glad that I don't have to make the Tacoma
- 37:18Speaker 3: the Buttom eye jokes anymore. Now, I don't know about
- 37:20Speaker 3: Tacoma people. You know, they'll they're the nicest people.
- 37:24Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 37:24Speaker 3: There's gonna there's gonna be a guy out there that's
- 37:26Speaker 3: gonna tell you about his isodynamic performance seats.
- 37:29Speaker 1: And that'll be a new that'll be a new customer
- 37:31Speaker 1: to Toyota that was not like a traditional Tacoma buyer.
- 37:34Speaker 3: Yeah, that'll be I mean, they're not making STIs anymore.
- 37:36Speaker 3: So well, so let's talk about payload real quick. So
- 37:39Speaker 3: and towing. The maximum towing has now moved to sixty
- 37:42Speaker 3: five hundred pounds, which is it's going to meet the
- 37:45Speaker 3: needs of most towing requirements. It is less than some
- 37:49Speaker 3: of the competitions, so glad eaters. Yeah, seventy five hundred pounds.
- 37:53Speaker 3: And then the it's super important to remember too that
- 37:55Speaker 3: towing capacity, payload capacity, like all of these things. While
- 37:59Speaker 3: we like them, they do actually inhibit a bit of
- 38:03Speaker 3: off road performance. You're telling that through larger rear axles
- 38:06Speaker 3: which have bigger ring in pinions, which means less final
- 38:09Speaker 3: ground clearance, you know, less article usual, less articulation payload,
- 38:13Speaker 3: and towing generally comes at spring the cost of a
- 38:16Speaker 3: higher spring rate, which sacrifices ride quality, articulation, all these things.
- 38:21Speaker 3: So there is a sweet spot and full sized trucks
- 38:24Speaker 3: do exist. Yeah, you know, but we're not talking eight
- 38:28Speaker 3: hundred pounds of payload anymore. We're talking seventeen hundred punds
- 38:31Speaker 3: of payload. It's a big it's a big difference. And
- 38:34Speaker 3: for us, we have always established that our minimum like
- 38:38Speaker 3: expected payload out of a mid sized truck is sixteen
- 38:41Speaker 3: hundred pounds.
- 38:41Speaker 1: And they've beat that. Toyota has beat it. They've they've
- 38:44Speaker 1: hit the numbers that we think are important. And yes,
- 38:48Speaker 1: toe sixty five hundred pounds, and it says here that
- 38:51Speaker 1: the I Force Extra cab Grade maximum payload increases to
- 38:55Speaker 1: seventeen hundred and nine pounds on the TRD off road,
- 38:59Speaker 1: which is really cool. That means four wheel drive. I
- 39:01Speaker 1: would think so, because otherwise they would call it the
- 39:04Speaker 1: TRD pre runner. So it says if you can get
- 39:07Speaker 1: a TRD off road at seventeen and nine pounds of payload, Like,
- 39:11Speaker 1: good job, Toyota. That's really that's incredible. Like I want one.
- 39:14Speaker 1: I know, it's weird. That's weird, I totally. I mean, yeah,
- 39:18Speaker 1: maybe it'll just be like I bring it all back
- 39:19Speaker 1: to the white Tacoma.
- 39:20Speaker 3: There's something so charming about the concept of the Tacoma.
- 39:25Speaker 3: Reliable has a great residual value. I mean, speaking of
- 39:28Speaker 3: residual values, I don't know if you've looked at what
- 39:30Speaker 3: used tacomas are selling for right now. Oh yeah, like
- 39:33Speaker 3: people are retiring, people are retiring, Like Paul's going to
- 39:37Speaker 3: sell her Tacoma and she's going to go live in
- 39:38Speaker 3: Spain for twenty five years. Like I mean, we're talking
- 39:41Speaker 3: fifty thousand dollars used tacoma's with thirty forty, fifty sixty
- 39:45Speaker 3: thousand miles on and we're talking one hundred thousand mile
- 39:48Speaker 3: trucks for thirties and forties and they're not that much less.
- 39:52Speaker 3: I should say, yeah, no if you want to, but
- 39:54Speaker 3: that that's why we're seeing the dealer mark cut. You
- 39:57Speaker 3: know again, I think trail Hunter, it's so cool to
- 40:00Speaker 3: I'm just going to read this out loud on toti's
- 40:02Speaker 3: press release. All new trail Hunter is a factory developed
- 40:06Speaker 3: overlanding rig built from the ground up with the latest
- 40:09Speaker 3: integrated off road equipment from airb old Men, EMU and Rigid.
- 40:13Speaker 3: That's really cool to see Anatoyota press release, no doubt,
- 40:15Speaker 3: because this is historically like a company that has been
- 40:19Speaker 3: very conservative and you know, kind of gave everybody what
- 40:22Speaker 3: they needed, not what they wanted. Now we have a
- 40:24Speaker 3: Tacoma that has needs and wants covered.
- 40:27Speaker 1: I mean, Matt Scott just says he wants one. So's
- 40:30Speaker 1: that's amazing.
- 40:31Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 40:31Speaker 3: I mean, I love the idea of a small little truck.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Is trucks are getting so big that they're getting really
- 40:36Speaker 3: really hard to park. I mean, if you drive it
- 40:39Speaker 3: every day, you'll know what I'm talking about, Like try
- 40:42Speaker 3: and parking f two fifty.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Yeah, they're the real deal. They're big.
- 40:45Speaker 3: Well, but then all vehicles are getting so big now
- 40:48Speaker 3: due to crash safety and people just want bigger stuff,
- 40:50Speaker 3: and we're in this huge economic boom, you know, coming
- 40:53Speaker 3: off of it. Ever, whatever we want to say, the
- 40:54Speaker 3: parking spaces haven't gotten anywatter.
- 40:56Speaker 2: And it's really cool to you know.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Again, I'm looking at this trail Hunter and I'm like, boy,
- 41:02Speaker 3: how great would that be to literally buy that throw
- 41:05Speaker 3: like an AT camper on there from it from AT
- 41:08Speaker 3: Overland and just go like you don't have to modify,
- 41:10Speaker 3: Like it even has twelve O in the Yeah, it's
- 41:13Speaker 3: ready to go in the bed already.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it's ready to go. Super cool.
- 41:16Speaker 3: But it's the Team off Road that is actually the
- 41:19Speaker 3: one that I think is oh yeah, And I'm looking
- 41:23Speaker 3: at it and I'm like the thirty threes. You know,
- 41:25Speaker 3: it's got it's got some skod plates, the front swaybar disconnect,
- 41:28Speaker 3: it's got a lot of the gadgets with that multi
- 41:30Speaker 3: train select that honestly I don't really pay that much
- 41:33Speaker 3: attention to. Boy that that seems like a really great
- 41:36Speaker 3: kind of realistic option. Yeah, that should be pretty popular.
- 41:40Speaker 3: What do you see for potential downsides cons I'm worried
- 41:45Speaker 3: about build quality, to be honest. A lot of the
- 41:47Speaker 3: touch points on the on the new Toyota truck stuff
- 41:51Speaker 3: just I hope that they're meeting the competition in that area.
- 41:55Speaker 3: I know you can't have everything, but the build quality
- 41:59Speaker 3: on the ton that I was looking at wasn't I know,
- 42:02Speaker 3: it's going to run forever. Like there's a difference between
- 42:05Speaker 3: like reliability and build quality, Like Toyotas.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Never durability, reliability and build quality are all three different things.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Yeah, So I'm worried about the build quality on this
- 42:16Speaker 3: because you know, the last generation Tundra was very basic,
- 42:20Speaker 3: but it worked and it didn't rattle, and it didn't squeak,
- 42:23Speaker 3: and when you slam the door, you were slamming a.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Door even two hundred thousand miles litter here.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 42:28Speaker 3: So a lot of the plastics and things that Toyota
- 42:31Speaker 3: has been using lately, Like I can't help but compare
- 42:35Speaker 3: Tundra to this. There's chassis similarities and it's kind of
- 42:38Speaker 3: that new design language was brought in with Tundra. I
- 42:42Speaker 3: hope that the build quality is there. Again, I think
- 42:45Speaker 3: we should make a trip. We should get a Tacoma
- 42:48Speaker 3: and drive it to the manufacturing plant in Juanawato, Mexico.
- 42:52Speaker 3: I think we should just get the nod Nod wink
- 42:55Speaker 3: wink from Toyota pr and let us drive it down
- 42:58Speaker 3: to Old Mexico check out the plant for ourselves in person.
- 43:02Speaker 2: It's also an airplane.
- 43:05Speaker 1: You can meet me. You can meet me there. You
- 43:07Speaker 1: can meet me there. Kidding, it'd be a really fun drive.
- 43:09Speaker 1: It would be a really Yeah.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Again, I think I think any other things, it's going
- 43:13Speaker 3: to be the dealer markups on these.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Yeah, particularly in the Trail Hunter.
- 43:16Speaker 3: I think it's really cool, but I think you have
- 43:18Speaker 3: to consider you know, it's kind of like the joke.
- 43:21Speaker 3: I'm going to use the Raptor as the example. When
- 43:23Speaker 3: the Raptor first came out, Yeah, it was really cool,
- 43:26Speaker 3: but you know, there was definitely the skeptics that were like, oh, well,
- 43:30Speaker 3: you're paying ten or fifteen thousand dollars more for shocks,
- 43:33Speaker 3: wheels and tires, and then people were paying on top
- 43:36Speaker 3: of that dealer markups, and then you know it's like, Okay,
- 43:39Speaker 3: it was worth it at the MSRP price increase, but
- 43:43Speaker 3: will it be worth it at the actual selling price.
- 43:46Speaker 3: That would be my concern. And again that's not Toyota,
- 43:49Speaker 3: that's just total car dealers. Yeah, maybe we can just
- 43:53Speaker 3: get rid of them.
- 43:55Speaker 1: So there's been some efforts, yeah, for sure, and again
- 43:57Speaker 1: there's there's good ones out there. But and that's the
- 43:59Speaker 1: problem that the dealerships are going to have. Eventually they'll
- 44:03Speaker 1: put themselves out of business because you can only abuse
- 44:05Speaker 1: people for so long before finally consumers say that's enough.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Again with the with the Tundra, with the added you know,
- 44:11Speaker 3: adms and stuff that they're putting onto it for the
- 44:13Speaker 3: Tierdy pro. I don't know if I'll follow through, but
- 44:16Speaker 3: I just went. I was so frustrated. I went and
- 44:18Speaker 3: I put a deposit down on a Ribbean because it's
- 44:20Speaker 3: there's so much more truck there for actually the same
- 44:23Speaker 3: amount of money.
- 44:24Speaker 1: Like and you get the experience of like it can
- 44:26Speaker 1: be delivered here to the office. Yeah, and it's done,
- 44:29Speaker 1: and I don't and they'll walk you through the true trauma,
- 44:31Speaker 1: like I don't have to get forced into the finance
- 44:33Speaker 1: office where like another weirdo is going to try and
- 44:36Speaker 1: fleece me for five points over their buy rate.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Oh, by the way, car dealers do that.
- 44:40Speaker 3: So if you're getting like a five percent interest rate,
- 44:43Speaker 3: there's probably two or three points that are on the
- 44:45Speaker 3: table that they're making.
- 44:47Speaker 1: So there's just all of these peops. When you buy
- 44:49Speaker 1: a Rivian, you actually talk to a banker at Chase. Yeah,
- 44:52Speaker 1: it's like an actual bank yeah point.
- 44:55Speaker 3: So I think that that'll be a downside, but I
- 44:57Speaker 3: don't think we know enough yet. I'm seeing a lot
- 44:59Speaker 3: of positive here on this vehicle. I applaud Toyota for
- 45:03Speaker 3: listening to the market, and yeah, it's going to be
- 45:07Speaker 3: it's going to come down to build quality.
- 45:09Speaker 1: For me. The only thing that I can find so far,
- 45:12Speaker 1: because there's some unanswered questions around some packaging, but it's
- 45:15Speaker 1: the eighteen inch wheel on the trail Hunter. So that
- 45:19Speaker 1: also comes back to your recommendation around the TRD off
- 45:22Speaker 1: road as opposed to the TRD off road pro the
- 45:25Speaker 1: eighteen inch wheel, that's not a benefit in my mind.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Now you can get a seventeen but the pros we
- 45:31Speaker 1: can still get a manual transmission to Coma. How amazing
- 45:34Speaker 1: is that in twenty twenty four there's going to be
- 45:38Speaker 1: a six speed manual to Cooma is still available. Turbo
- 45:41Speaker 1: charge Yeah, what a miracle. Yeah, just a cool little engine.
- 45:45Speaker 1: And I do like turbo motors a lot. In these
- 45:47Speaker 1: turbo gas mode.
- 45:48Speaker 3: Where it's where and how they make their power, which
- 45:50Speaker 3: is down low, which is how you are actually using
- 45:53Speaker 3: it on.
- 45:53Speaker 2: The street's right and on the trail.
- 45:54Speaker 1: That's right. They've completely addressed the power issue from the
- 45:57Speaker 1: last model in both the fact that they've added two
- 46:00Speaker 1: gears to the automatic, so it's going to have to
- 46:02Speaker 1: have a lower first gear because that was the achilles
- 46:04Speaker 1: heel of the other one. So it's going to be
- 46:07Speaker 1: way better loaded up or pulling a trailer or whatever
- 46:10Speaker 1: because it makes way more power and it has two
- 46:12Speaker 1: more cogs yep in it. So a bunch of different
- 46:15Speaker 1: engine options. We only had one engine before that. Now
- 46:18Speaker 1: we got three different motor options depending on what you
- 46:20Speaker 1: want to get. And then sway our disconnect.
- 46:22Speaker 3: Yeah, so Sabar disconnect is a bigger deal than people think. Yeah,
- 46:26Speaker 3: it just makes a huge difference. Historically that has been
- 46:29Speaker 3: reserved for the Gladiator. Sorry for the rubicons. It is
- 46:32Speaker 3: on the Gladiator, and it's on the Wrangler. Now it's
- 46:34Speaker 3: on the four ye Grand Cherokee trail Hawk. It really
- 46:39Speaker 3: does make a difference, Like you're just cruising down a
- 46:41Speaker 3: dirt road and you turn that off, You're going to
- 46:43Speaker 3: have somebody in the backseat go, what did you just do? Yeah, truthfully,
- 46:48Speaker 3: I did not expect to see that.
- 46:51Speaker 1: When I was reading through the spec I'm thinking, this
- 46:53Speaker 1: is unbelievable, because Toyota is normally incremental. You see incremental
- 46:58Speaker 1: improvements from them. They already make a great vehicle, then
- 47:01Speaker 1: they ecremental incrementally improve it. This is literally, like Toyota said,
- 47:05Speaker 1: we're either going to have to address this competition which
- 47:08Speaker 1: is coming at us rapidly, or we're going to face
- 47:10Speaker 1: a lot of market share loss. And they addressed it.
- 47:13Speaker 3: And everybody in the last couple of weeks has showed
- 47:15Speaker 3: their cards. I'm not saying that Toyota is going to
- 47:17Speaker 3: come on top, but there is there is this gut
- 47:20Speaker 3: feeling within me that if you have the Ranger raptor
- 47:23Speaker 3: you have the Colorado, and you have this tierty pro
- 47:26Speaker 3: trail Hunter, I like the split from Toyota, but let's
- 47:29Speaker 3: just say those things, you put them all out there.
- 47:31Speaker 3: There's there's something of the history and legacy of reliability
- 47:35Speaker 3: and simplicity that Toyota has that would truthfully lead me
- 47:40Speaker 3: to choose the Toyota product over the GM or the
- 47:44Speaker 3: Ford product. Sure, because again, like we said, like we've
- 47:47Speaker 3: been in so many sketchy places in the world, and
- 47:49Speaker 3: when you're in a sketchy place in the world, you
- 47:52Speaker 3: grab the Toyota.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you want to, you want it to make the
- 47:54Speaker 1: starting noise. Yeah. But what'll be interesting is not that
- 47:57Speaker 1: the others won't be great options. To your point, none
- 48:00Speaker 1: of this stuff has proven out yet, but Toyota does
- 48:02Speaker 1: have the legacy of reliability that we should be able
- 48:06Speaker 1: to continue to see. The one thing that'll be interesting though,
- 48:08Speaker 1: is like within moments, we're going to see now the
- 48:12Speaker 1: bison Aevah Colorado on thirty fives within with jounces like
- 48:18Speaker 1: hydraulic jounces, and when she's just crazy and that's crazy
- 48:23Speaker 1: true the vehicle to compare to the trail Hunter, Yeah,
- 48:26Speaker 1: which is where it then kind of ends up a
- 48:28Speaker 1: little bit more Toyota, where it is a little bit
- 48:31Speaker 1: more conservative. But just looking AM's credit, they went wild.
- 48:35Speaker 1: But look at it, I mean, just look at the
- 48:36Speaker 1: fact that we can get a glad eater. Look at
- 48:38Speaker 1: the fact that we can get a thirty five inch
- 48:40Speaker 1: tire on an AEV equipped Colorado with front and rear lockers,
- 48:43Speaker 1: multimatic suspension, hydraulic jounces. Like this is nutty territory and
- 48:49Speaker 1: the Tacoma is now like playing in nutty territory.
- 48:52Speaker 3: Thirty three inch tires. Yeah, and on the big horsepower numbers.
- 48:55Speaker 3: You can get similar torque in the four hundreds, but
- 48:58Speaker 3: without a hybrid system. That's true, So that'll be interesting
- 49:02Speaker 3: to see.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's gonna be fun.
- 49:05Speaker 3: You know, we saw so much competition go into the
- 49:07Speaker 3: full size space. We love full sized trucks, but they
- 49:12Speaker 3: have size limitations, you know, for the way a lot
- 49:14Speaker 3: of people are going to use their vehicles in North
- 49:17Speaker 3: America as this kind of rock crawling with roof tent
- 49:20Speaker 3: kind of thing that overlanding is kind of pushing towards.
- 49:24Speaker 1: This is really an interesting vehicle totally. And nice job Toyota. Yeah,
- 49:28Speaker 1: like this was fun to talk about. Yeah, I'm person
- 49:31Speaker 1: to make fun of just make fun of me often.
- 49:35Speaker 1: I like this. Well there's plenty of things that make
- 49:39Speaker 1: fun of me about though. Yeah, well start with my barber.
- 49:44Speaker 1: All right, Well, that was so fun to talk about
- 49:46Speaker 1: the new Tacoma. We thank you all for listening, and seriously,
- 49:49Speaker 1: if somebody knows a Toyota dealer out there that is
- 49:52Speaker 1: not gouging customers, please let us know. We'd love to
- 49:54Speaker 1: share that widely with all of you, and until then,
- 49:57Speaker 1: we'll talk to you next time.
