- 0:00Yellow card. You can't give me a yellow card year my father. When
- 0:05I put on these shorts, I'm not your father anymore. Judging by how
- 0:08tight they are. I'm never gonna be anyone else that's eater you. This
- 0:12is what I think of your yellow card. Unsportsmanlike conduct. That's a red
- 0:18card. You're on a game, but ah, another family broken up by
- 0:24Ronaldo. Yes, four finger discount, dude, welcome to four finger Discount.
- 0:46When this week we're gonna have to talk talk like this because we're doing
- 0:49marge gamer. Oh, we're talking like gamers, talking like gamers. Nothing
- 0:53too long, let's talk about me. That is correct? Yes, and
- 0:57I'll look there. I'm sure there are gamers who actually have lovely dulcin tones
- 1:00like you and I. I'm anything but a gamer, but I full respect
- 1:03for gamers. I used to sit there. We'll discussing before we started recording
- 1:07here that I once had talking about the new names. Land gets mentioned in
- 1:11one of the new names, right, and said, you include Land in
- 1:15one of those new names, because I I yes, And I remember my
- 1:19thirteenth birthday party. A couple of my friends were like, can you have
- 1:21a Land party? And I was like I know that means and involved drugs.
- 1:23Like no, I was like, okay, sure. So then I
- 1:26get to my parents' place, and of course they've got the second living room
- 1:30television, the television in my bedroom, the television in my sister's room.
- 1:34My sister was played enough to let my friends like smelly stinky boys go into
- 1:37her room. He's a TV. And it was just cables going down the
- 1:40hall and through the kitchen, under the table and look basically land for those
- 1:42that underwear. It was basically like the early form of like online gaming,
- 1:47where you could be playing the same game on various televisions in different rooms,
- 1:51and it was like mind blowing to me. And I have just full respect
- 1:53for all my friends who could play because they were playing this game Halo,
- 1:56right when Haley first came out, so it was about two thousand and one,
- 1:59and ever since then, I've just it's been so out of touch with
- 2:00games. I just I can't game. I'm so bad at the first person
- 2:02shooters to the point where it wasn't fun for me anymore. It was almost
- 2:07like I could tell sometimes my friends be taking sympathy and like like taking it
- 2:09easy. I mean, I'm like, oh no, I feel bad.
- 2:12I'm like, I'm that guy. Everyone's like, oh, yeah, you
- 2:14know, you can join it. It's okay, we won't shoot you.
- 2:15And I'm like, ahh, but yeah, that's that's my my memories of
- 2:22lands, which I'm going to say it stands for Local Area Network. Okay,
- 2:28I think so, but yeah, we'd better double triple check that because
- 2:31we might have some nerds going that's not exactly what it's for. My apologies,
- 2:36I'm going to stop calling you nerds because you know they're not nerds at
- 2:38all. It's a bill. It's the thing. You're not a lot most
- 2:39about this episode, even though ad in like two thousand and seven or whatever,
- 2:43so it didn't go overboard with it. Gamers a nerds aspect, right,
- 2:46because so many shows tend to do that. We watched, you know,
- 2:49crime shows like SVU and Numbers and White Collar. Whenever it's a video
- 2:53game based story, like they go it's rpgmgs. I'm like, they don't
- 2:58speak like that. They would just say they play a game, not an
- 3:00RPG. I'm just like, it really shits me. I'll never forget ice
- 3:04Cube in SVU going Gem Buddy, and I was like, was he making
- 3:08a guest appearance alongside Iced Tea. I always get ice Cub. Yeah,
- 3:12sorry, I pretty racist. It is ready racist because it was this quash
- 3:15Anakonda and he's my favorite character in Anaconda, and that's that's a big call.
- 3:20Given the John Voyds in it. He I liked. I thought John
- 3:23was great in his role, but I enjoyed ice Cube more. Yes,
- 3:28but anyway, nothing but Anaconda. But if you if you about gaming and
- 3:30how you're yes, you're not good at it. I'm not good at at
- 3:32either. I was. I was good at Space Invata's Pac Man up until
- 3:36Mortal Kombat. After that. Were you good at Mortal Combat? Though?
- 3:38I was okay, I kicked the ship out of it. Could you do
- 3:42like Fatalities? Absolutely? I could. How awesome was that when you actually
- 3:46pull one off? Though? It was fantastic. And then when we did
- 3:47a Fatalities, well that's also great. It was like, please, sir,
- 3:52this is a this is a family establishment. But it was Local Area
- 3:55Network and I looked that. You are correct. Yeah, we sound so
- 3:59old. You're right. LAND does stand for Local Area Net for those who
- 4:02aren't aware. In twenty twenty four, so for all those playing Nintendo or
- 4:08maybe even PlayStation. Yes, we'd like to think that we know our stuff.
- 4:13Yeah, that's why we're certainly not Nubes. What I was saying earlier
- 4:15is that I don't feel like they were taking the mickey added gamers in this
- 4:19episode. It was more like a love letter, particularly not the tutorial bit.
- 4:21It's like, oh, I see he's a rock, you have found
- 4:24it. Yes, they were ahead of the curb because, as you were
- 4:29about to say, I mean, gaming is a multi billion or dollar industry.
- 4:33In all honesty, I was having a bit of a gripe before we
- 4:36press record. None of you need to hear that clouds were scattering. Yeah,
- 4:41but I was like, entertainment journalism's deared, the movie industry kind of
- 4:45sucks now. And the thing of it is, I think gaming has kind
- 4:48of taken the baton from traditional you know, scripted entertainment and sort of gone
- 4:55with a bit. Now you can be in the movie. Now you can
- 4:57be you know, the main character, you can be player one as opposed
- 5:00to well that Chris Hemsworth, He's fantastic. I wish I was like him.
- 5:03It was like, well, in this game, you are him,
- 5:05you can be him. Yeah, I was trying to explain to people how
- 5:09you know I can earn a living from podcasting. Still to this day,
- 5:11PEO are like really like hell, what do you mean? And so many
- 5:15people who used to work with Ford you sort of like laugh at me and
- 5:18look down at me. It's just the old funny duddy idea of you don't
- 5:20understand it, so it's just it's silly. But now it's like people starting
- 5:24to finally realize color global warming. Oh shit, it's real. Oh you
- 5:28can't make money from gaming and from podcasting all these kinds of things. Thank
- 5:30god, that's happening just as the world is ending. It's like so many
- 5:33times my old man or someone will say, what's it? This weather are
- 5:36so win weird? So where summer? And I'm like, have you been
- 5:40paying attention? They've been telling you for years it's coming. But I can
- 5:46also buy into the story that Marge, you know, with her addictive personality,
- 5:49is established this in the past. Correct, she would very easily be
- 5:51addicted to a game like this because I love the refreshed, refresh, refresh.
- 5:55That is just social media to a team, right, you put out
- 5:57a tweet, You're like, I've want to see the engagement house so much
- 6:00so it's like, yeah, waiting for that little Well, God, I'm
- 6:02still using Facebook. Oh someone's lated something that I've said follows on Facebook,
- 6:08Facebook or complash walking a discame. Oh someone's made a comment about something I
- 6:14wrote. What did they say? You suck? Oh No, it's like,
- 6:17you know, send me money something like that. Yeah, oh dear,
- 6:20I'm getting so many inboxes this week. And I've seen other people who
- 6:24run pages from guest like Guest two seven zero nine to four. It's like,
- 6:28Hi, we would like to pay you money to advertise on your page.
- 6:30We represent Nike and Nesle and Nestle, spot Wrong and things like that,
- 6:34And it's always the same brands, And I'm like, oh, but
- 6:36honestly, I reckon. I cantered thirty of them all in a rolia.
- 6:40I guess no profile picture, just guessed insert number, same message. I
- 6:45don't want to be terribly pessimistic about, you know, modern technology, especially
- 6:47after the morning I've had where my engineer kept dropping out and my computer froze,
- 6:51were in the middle of our subediting shift. But it was a mac
- 6:55from like Macintoche from like nineteen eighty seven. It was a come a doert
- 6:58sixty. But you're hearing so much about bank scams and everything like that,
- 7:03and I was like, Oh, they're only going to get worse, They're
- 7:05only going to get more sophisticated. All this shit. It's like, oh
- 7:08no, I've heard my mum nearly gets scammed on the phone once. I
- 7:11was like, get off the phone, mum before you give him a more
- 7:12information. But I had a phone call yesterday, two miss calls, right,
- 7:15and it said from Votaphone. So I caught it up and his Votaphone,
- 7:19you'll provide it Votaphones' provider, right, And I called it back and
- 7:21it had the initial thanks for calling Votaphone. We'll put you through to our
- 7:25sales team right now. And then I did that you know that phone dial
- 7:29that you can tell is dialing to someplace in India And I was like,
- 7:31this is weird. And it's like, hello somewhere, my name is Sarah,
- 7:34PA can to help you. And I was like, I had a
- 7:36miss call from this number and he's like, oh, yes, we are
- 7:41from Votaphone sales company and we would like to offer you a new a new
- 7:44package, I better package on your deal. And I was like, okay,
- 7:46Cools, the first thing we need is your four digit PIN. And
- 7:48I was like, ask her, fucking mad, Now, I suggest that
- 7:53you enjoyed this package. You know what I mean? I said to him,
- 7:59you called me, you should know my details and he's like, oh,
- 8:01yes, but I need you to confirm your details so we can proceed.
- 8:03I'm like, I am happy with my package as well as my Vota
- 8:07phone deal. So so like you know, if you want to change it
- 8:11and you offer me a deal, you just tell me what you can offer
- 8:13me. And he's like, well, I can't proceed util you give me
- 8:15your name, your phone number, and your date of birth and you foot
- 8:16dig it pit And I was like, yeah, the fuck out of here.
- 8:20Yeah, it's standing to raise the stage even where. But like people
- 8:22like your mum would fall for that, you know my mom, My mom
- 8:26would fall for that. Yeah, well, my mom's been coming increasingly.
- 8:28I was about to say, savvy also just grumpy? Is she maybe much
- 8:31like mister Burns's mum? What when if she's not recognizing numbers, it's kind
- 8:37of like hello and getting very frosty and all that kind of stuff, and
- 8:41you know, not being the cheerful water. What if I told her yes,
- 8:46she'd have to be like, so you are also my son is actually
- 8:50podcasting? Okay, yes, just well does ladies ever like ask you,
- 8:56does Dana actually exist? To this day? This is I'm still never met
- 9:00her. I've never seen her in the flesh. Haven't you never seen Louise
- 9:03ever? I've never met her. She is real the premise. It's funny.
- 9:09She said. The other night. We have these friends. We went
- 9:11out to the party. They play something I mentioned in a while, but
- 9:13very nice place. His name's David David. If you're listening, shout out
- 9:18my man, love your house, love your wipe, well loved, love,
- 9:24love your whole setup. Is what I'm saying. You've got it made,
- 9:26sir. And the fact that you were taking time out to listen to
- 9:30four Finger Discount and enjoy it and say to my girlfriend, wow, guys,
- 9:35show is really good. First of all, calling guy show was great,
- 9:39just guy and Dano. I still don't like the weed that sounds,
- 9:45but he actually listens. What's his name, David, David cool to David
- 9:48to David. Yeah, that's the end of that story. But you were
- 9:52saying, Louise you're talking about how I've never met Louise, and then that
- 9:54was just you're leading to that story getting was it getting anywhere? Oh?
- 9:56No, just that she said the other night. I was like, David
- 10:00really likes the show. Yeah, what's it like to have a fan?
- 10:03I'm like, are you fan? Are you? Are you not my fan?
- 10:07I think you're number one fan. Who would say is your number one
- 10:11fan? Is your mum? Ors Louise, It's always gonna be your mum.
- 10:13I think I would say so. Nicola gets me through more now because
- 10:18I'm with her more than my mum. But I think your mum's always a
- 10:20number one fans you know. Oh correct, Yes, I would say so.
- 10:22Yeah, I would always fall back on our mum when we need to.
- 10:26But yeah, as I was saying, I thought this was really believable
- 10:28in the sense that Marge becomes addicted to the game, and I love the
- 10:31whole refreshed refresh and who gett addicted and things, you know, when yeah,
- 10:33you know you're ship to do around the house, You're like, oh,
- 10:37but no, Twitter, I'm going to see what's going on the way
- 10:41and how other people feel about it. And then ten minutes goes by it
- 10:43and you don't even realize it. Like so many times, I'll be watching
- 10:45the kids, right, I'll just get the phone up for five minutes,
- 10:46I'm sitting there and now it's like, are you coming or not? And
- 10:48I was like, oh, she's been like fifteen minutes and I've just been
- 10:52zoned out. You know, you've done an absolute margin in front of the
- 10:54screen. Yeah. Yeah. Also the Lisa and Homer story here where Homer
- 10:58becomes the referee for Lisa's soccer class. When does that happen in the episode?
- 11:01It's like ten minutes in? Is it that far in? I've got
- 11:05at least halfway through a minute. It's like, oh, okay, so
- 11:07we've got to beat plot. Yeah, okay, Yeah, I don't know
- 11:11it was that long to be I didn't really. I thought it was in
- 11:13the episode more than what it was. But I did like the story because
- 11:16it's always nice seeing Lisa being the bad guy in the situation. Because Rohma
- 11:18didn't really do anything wrong here when he was like breaking the rules to help
- 11:22Lisa, you can understand why he was doing that, Yes, correct,
- 11:24I mean I did appreciate that, Yeah, when he sort of went about
- 11:28it in a half assed way and yeah, disappointed his daughter. He's like,
- 11:31well we better shape up. So yeah, he'd learn the rules and
- 11:35he did the right thing and all that kind of stuff. Yeah, taught
- 11:37her lesson taught her less And indeed, I mean both these plots, if
- 11:43you take out the story aspect, they're kind of like, oh, okay,
- 11:46well we've seen both of these before. I mean when you tend to
- 11:48put usually when you put Margin bart together, it'll be well, we're doing
- 11:54something together. Oh but initially didn't like it. It was embarrassed, but
- 11:56now he sort of came around to see the era of good Way. Ever
- 12:00though, actually, like me in Margin the Game, I don't think he
- 12:01ever actually did because we had that episode. I think it was last season
- 12:05where they went they wrote their bikes together, right, and he wasn't joining
- 12:07himself and he got embarrassed and then to go away. This one he was
- 12:11a bit different. I think he was just like it was more t yeah
- 12:13yeah, yeah right, but okay, So it's a variation on that theme,
- 12:18and I guess it was the same with Lisa and Homer with Lisa from
- 12:20Homie're right. I think the gaming plot is maybe what two thirds of the
- 12:24episode and probably about a third. Yeah, yeah, look, both perfectly
- 12:30fine. Both the entertaining. I mean I think that were in there because
- 12:31they had a reason to get Ronaldo in. Ronaldo's guest appearance wasn't like all
- 12:37that. It wasn't much to it, really. But the thing is,
- 12:39if Ronaldo's going to come on the show, you're going to make a spot
- 12:41for Ronaldo to be on the show, You're absolutely Ronaldo correct. I read
- 12:46online people are saying it's one of the worst appearances ever, and I was
- 12:48like, it wasn't one of the worst appearances. I mean, he's acting
- 12:50wasn't great, but it's like it's fucking Ronaldo indeed. Indeed, I mean,
- 12:54if we're going to we'll talk about that when we get to have private
- 12:56moments. If you're like, okay, then yes. Now one note here,
- 13:00one little nitpick I have with the episode, just the show in general.
- 13:01At this point, it feels like so many of the secondary characters that
- 13:05we've come to love over the years are just so unhappy. Now. So
- 13:09you used always been Mo was the unhappy one and things like that, but
- 13:13like the love Joys in particular, that whole save our trouble marriage save our
- 13:16trouble Mariage. I was like, what, what where does this come from?
- 13:20They've sort of like hinted at it and things like that, but to
- 13:20sort of just openly say we're not happy save our marriage child. I was
- 13:24like, ah, yeah, it sounds like they're making the subtext text in
- 13:30a lot of things. I mean, I've if we're talking Nippis, I
- 13:33certainly had a gripe, which was explaining a joke or letting a jug go
- 13:37on too long, or though Ronaldo bit. For me, I hate it
- 13:39when they get a guest star and they go it's Ronaldo, he's won so
- 13:41many World Cups, blah blah, because our American fans and American viewers won't
- 13:45know who he is because we don't follow soccer here. I was like,
- 13:46let me just just say it's Ronaldo and make the fucking viewer do the researcher
- 13:50don't understand who it is, don't don't tell us. It was like,
- 13:52hey, look, it's Britney Spear. It's just like shut up. The
- 13:56injet was still new at this stage. Yes, as they demonstrated sounds,
- 14:00how do I find out row? Yeah, I've got to go into what's
- 14:03it Wahoo yippie. I very much thought when I was that scene where March
- 14:09doesn't have the email, I'm like, this is so my mom. My
- 14:11mom has email, but she's just useless at it. No, I'm sure
- 14:13she went on me saying that she's just no good at technology emails. She's
- 14:16always like Brendan had to open an email. I'm like, thick on it.
- 14:20I'm but where is on my phone? I'm like, well, if
- 14:22we didn't have seven thousand fucking apps on your phone. Because she's one of
- 14:24those people where she's like, my phone, I know where everything is.
- 14:28I don't want to get a new one. So she hasn't upgraded her phone
- 14:30for like eight years, right, okay, but she's just been filling it
- 14:33and filling it and feeling it. She's one of those people who she doesn't
- 14:35organize anything. So new app just downloads and just go through the home screen.
- 14:37She doesn't drag it into a folder. So it's just there's no folders
- 14:41on her phone. It's just you know, when you need to swipe pages
- 14:43to find the new app, there's like thirty of them. She's just my
- 14:45gosh, and it's just it gives me a headache. Looking at her phone.
- 14:48So when margin like I don't have email, I'm like, this is
- 14:50my mum. I'm just thinking about the early days of the Internet, when
- 14:54it was like how do I find stuff? And you know that were the
- 14:58sort of multiple search engines going arou Google and carter Encyclopedia. You know,
- 15:03do I use Yahoo or something like that? Were you in Carda and Psycopedia
- 15:07or a Potanica? I don't think I was either. Really how did you
- 15:09find that information before Google? Probably just Yahoo or just before before the Internet
- 15:13though, well, but probably use actual books. But in Cartera and Psycopedia
- 15:16was was a oh there were probably I don't know when Carda sounds more familiar
- 15:20okay, but probably did. And Carda was like so long ago, and
- 15:24card was like Google before we had Google. Okay, So I'm glad we
- 15:26got Google, man, And also being at Google falls over. And the
- 15:30thing is Google, though, is you don't have to think I mean,
- 15:31it's amazing. You couldn't live without Google now, because, for example,
- 15:35Aliot might say to me where the clouds come from? And I'm like,
- 15:37you know what, mate, I actually have no idea. Let's google it
- 15:41where I just feel like sometimes now, it'd be nice to just think about
- 15:46things and I wonder why that is happening or I do know that, but
- 15:48it's easy if I just have the phone tell me. It's like, use
- 15:50your brain and find that core little bit of knowledge that you've got stored.
- 15:54You know it's in there, find it true. But there's a lot of
- 15:56just yeah, basic every day information is kind of like, well, you
- 16:00know, I was watching the watching the Tennis with the Lovely Luise last night
- 16:03and young Felix and you know, now so and so I don't know,
- 16:07but I know someone who does. Thanks Google, so and it was it
- 16:14doesn't have a lot of stuff, but there's anything you didn'tok about the episode.
- 16:17I think I've talked in the past about how letting we're letting jokes go
- 16:19on too long or explaining them too much. So when Margine that's sort of
- 16:23the very primitive version of Google Maps or whatever. It's your home from space
- 16:27or something like that, and oh my god, home is naked on a
- 16:30hamm Yeah yeah, and he sort of jumps out and he runs into Flanders's
- 16:34place, Flanders saying, oh, you've made my parents. That's a great,
- 16:38that's great. Leave it on that leave it on that that's I went,
- 16:42that's good. Not naked. I haven't Oh what why didn't need it?
- 16:48I didn't need it. Yeah, that's just oppressing, just depressingly.
- 16:56I completely agree. So sometimes like you had the joke, you really had
- 16:59it, and you're you're stuck the landing. It's that kid who gets a
- 17:02laugh and then runs out joking to the ground. Yes, at a party,
- 17:04you're like ah, Or when you go to like a pub, I
- 17:07overget there was this I don't know what you know, I stopping the other
- 17:10day. Now, Sometimes sometimes you just got these core memories from your childhood.
- 17:14You don't know why they're so vivid any memory. They're not like you,
- 17:17terrifying or horrible experiences or anything, but just memories that you have.
- 17:21And the one I was talking about was we're talking about marathons, right,
- 17:25and there's a Simpsons marathon called the Simpsons fan Fest, which aired during the
- 17:27two thousand Olympics right on Fox eight. And I, for some reason just
- 17:32have this core memory of driving to cry village with my old man and him
- 17:34buying me two five packs of VHS tips that I can put on long Play
- 17:38and take the entire marathon. Why I had that memory? I have no
- 17:41idea now because of that memory, I was going to talk about the start
- 17:45of that. What was the core memory? What were we talking about the
- 17:48explaining gags? Was it? Yes? Oh man, I've lost it.
- 17:51I'm getting no damn your Google. Yes, we're coming to you for too
- 17:56much stuff. What was I going to talk about and listen? Wouldn't it
- 18:00be terrifying for new Let's google it. Let's let's see what happened to be
- 18:03in top with them to Google? Let's go to Google. What was I
- 18:07going to just say? How to remember something you were just thinking about?
- 18:11Would you like to know? Yes? I would, But it says yeah,
- 18:15literally, Google says how to remember something you were just thinking about two
- 18:18seconds ago about then instantly forgot. Here's what works when you can't remember something
- 18:22that you're thinking about a couple of seconds ago. Stop what you're doing,
- 18:26sit or stand up straight and breathe and let's not breathe and relax. I
- 18:30was doing that now I'm not. It will come to me at some point
- 18:34in the episode. Oh yeah, you're talking about them just talking down overdoing
- 18:38gags. Yes, very much the case. I nearly had it again,
- 18:42I nearly had it as a kid. Ah, it's about a kid.
- 18:47It's going to come to me. It's a kid though. Simpsons fan Fest
- 18:49Grand was an Olympics before then though, So basically I was talking about core
- 18:53memories that just stick with you. Yes, and it's something about a kid.
- 18:56Oh, yes, I found it. Yes before all right, someone
- 18:59I was a kid and we finally got their people. That's amazing. How
- 19:02the frameworks this is a saying. I sat up straight, I breathed,
- 19:06I relaxed, and iod. Thanks Google. No. So basically, we're
- 19:11at the pub and we had this guy guy. We still got my uncle
- 19:14Ean, it wasn't really our uncle, and it lived in Meredith, and
- 19:15there's that in Meredith for aw you listeners. There's like a pub, a
- 19:18post office and maybe a milbar. And we're at the pub and we're two
- 19:22small kids and there was this guy there, this drunk guy, and he
- 19:25was like playing darts and for some reason he just goes bad. I made
- 19:27this funny sound and my sister was like slags. I thought it was hilarious,
- 19:32but they're like ten straight minutes you just get gone bab and I'm like
- 19:34it was funny. The fourteenth time, but it's not funny, and I'm
- 19:37just like, how do I leave? And I started walk away and he's
- 19:41like that like talking about and I was like, I'm getting scared that the
- 19:45idea of just you said something it was funny. Leave, yes, drop
- 19:48your mic and walk out the door. But this guy, I honestly ten
- 19:52minutes just gone. My sister. My sister and I have a gag now,
- 19:55but sometimes you just go because we don't remember it. But do you
- 20:00have a core memory in your mind that if I'm not your child, to
- 20:03where it's just like why is that so vivid? Why did that stick in
- 20:06my brain? Why? Why can I not forget about this? Oh?
- 20:08Yeah, there were certainly a few, and I mean some are scary and
- 20:11some are pleasant to remember. And someone just kind of like, yeah that
- 20:15happened. Yeah, that's buying those tapes like that, that just happened.
- 20:18It's just we went to the shop and bot these tapes with this fan facet
- 20:19But like, what was the why is that so vivid? Yeah? I
- 20:22remember one day I was Dad took me to Melbourne for something or other.
- 20:27He was meeting up with some guy that he knew with Jack Dyer would have
- 20:32been nice. It was Jack. No, it was some business guy,
- 20:33but not necessarily a high powered business man. It's only just a guy who
- 20:36sold a bunch of stuff. And this guy had like a few tabletop video
- 20:41games in Look my phone, lukas Rian, it's a scam. Artists.
- 20:45Are you getting scammed in real time? Put them on? Hello, Hi,
- 20:52this is a woman. I'm calling you from Vodafone. How are you
- 20:56doing today? I'm doing fantastic. How are you absolutely fine? Well,
- 21:00thank you for asking. The reason I'm calling you is to discuss the offers
- 21:03and loyalty discount. We have your voters from account. I'll just access the
- 21:07details to discuss those officers with you. You need some details, okay.
- 21:11Now before we proceed, I need to inform you this call may be recorded
- 21:15for Quality training and business book. What a coincidence? Oh when you hung
- 21:18up? Why did you hang up? Do hear mean? Maybe put someone
- 21:29else on the line. Oh, I have no idea, but that was
- 21:32hilarious. You guys, literally it happened. I told you, it's real.
- 21:34I told you it was real. Oh my god, we're in the
- 21:37matrix. We're some of the matrix. I was not lying one of my
- 21:45for dig just need some details made you for digit pin your phone number,
- 21:48your birth date and your name. It was like, are you giving you
- 21:49ship? You called me anyway? So anything else want to discuss No,
- 21:56no, my care memory was actually pretty boring, so let's not go with
- 21:59that. Let's get into these people. Stonecutters are incredible supporters here on the
- 22:12four Finger Discount Patreon channel. Of course, we had to start with the
- 22:17lovely Katy g with her one hundred dollars support. Thank you so so much,
- 22:22Ching indeed cu not Ching just cut from Andrews fifty dollars. No,
- 22:29thank you so much Andrew for a few dollars as well every single month.

- 22:47Discat network in the next couple of weeks as well. Thank you read that.
- 22:48Yeah. By the way, I had a very nice online check with
- 22:52Jonathan Rossi the oh yeah, what absolute leit he sends Christmas. By the
- 22:55way, Jonathan, I haven't replied yet, but we received your Christmas postcard
- 22:59for the kids this year. Only arrived last week, like three or four
- 23:02days ago. But it's just been mannic with Jet. I've said it's on
- 23:03the podcast, but Jet had a couple of sieges last week and just been
- 23:07to and fro from the vet. You had CT scans yesterday and you're clear
- 23:10of tumors. But it's just been very hectic the last week here in the
- 23:11Dando household. But Jonathan Rossi every year sends a Christmas card all the way
- 23:15from New York. Jonathan Rossi absolute legend. All these guys a nice guys.
- 23:19Yes, And it's because of Jonathan Rossi that I now owned the Space
- 23:22Jam soundtrack, because it's one of those things where the guy he's like,
- 23:26I'm not going to post it to a strike, I'm not going to post
- 23:27it to nationally. But Jonathan lived in New York, so he posted Jonathan,
- 23:30and Jonathan posted it to me. It's always good to have those American
- 23:33contacts who you can. Yes, we're not shipping internationally well drop shippers,
- 23:37drop shippers wreck. Yeah yeah, absolute legend zap as, I said,
- 23:41Stephen Robert, Sean Dave, Pete Anderson, Timothy Burson, Andrew Davis,
- 23:45Ryan Dunlap, Kevin Dental, Planned Flood, Shannon Hofer, Bella Window Bank,
- 23:48Mark Boston Burgess, Jack McFadden, Heath Apple, be Adrick McLeod Lewis
- 23:52Kavanaugh, March, Relieve and Reese, Roberts, Ginger and Pickle, Preston
- 23:56Murray, Taliah, Enriquez, Jake Massado, Declan Phoenix, Brian McCoy,
- 24:00Josh Helly out Logan b and James Sheppard. Thank you so much for being
- 24:03supporters of ours on the Fourthing a discount Patreon Hall of Fame names. Every
- 24:07one of them my favorite. All right, mister Davis, did you have
- 24:11any favorite moments on this episode before we skimmed through it? I only had
- 24:14two, really, okay. I did like that the that Hella loved Joy
- 24:18turned into a real soccer mom. Yeah, you're as blind. Jesus couldn't
- 24:22heal you. I thought that was actually not a not a bad biblical burn,
- 24:26so that was kind of funny. I hate how they sort of taken
- 24:30the gossiper aspect out of it, because her sort of gimmu used to be,
- 24:33well, somebody think of the children, But now she's always got a
- 24:36bit too much sass for herself. Now a little bit she has sass.
- 24:38In the Pretzel episode, she'll stot the ring leader of the of that group
- 24:42that was sort of making fun of March, you know, the opposition that
- 24:45kicked her out. But I don't know, I prefer to see her.
- 24:48We haven't heard what somebody please think of the children for so long. I
- 24:52think it'd be nice to want to go back to that sometimes because we do
- 24:53get a character here, which is one of my favorite moments, going back
- 24:56to their old school form, which I reallyciated, And it may have been
- 25:00lost on you because you weren't really offend the early earlier Simpsons, But one
- 25:03of my favorite moments was Mo gone, what's the matter? Homer and bart
- 25:07there used to be seeing every episode home would go to Moe's and Mo was
- 25:11just a bartend. That's what his name. I'm just a bartender. He
- 25:12was just a button. What's the matter Homer? And he would give him
- 25:15good advice, where now it's like eh angry had everything where I just thought,
- 25:21that's why he's got the real MO tight up at the back. But
- 25:23it was a silly gag, but I was like, like, what's the
- 25:26matter home? That used to be like this thing, yeah, and the
- 25:29other thing I enjoyed. I enjoyed Ronaldo because I mean, look, when
- 25:33it comes to sport, I've often said that I was an enthusiastic amateur,
- 25:37and I think you could say the same thing about Ronaldo when it comes to
- 25:38voice acting. I'm pretty sure he learned his lines phonetically, but he went
- 25:42about it with Gusto, and I appreciated what his lack of polish in the
- 25:48voice booth was matched by his enthusiasm, and I think his happiness of being
- 25:52on The Simpsons, and he dubbed himself in the Brazilian version as well.
- 25:56I should hope he would. I liked Mo as the troll under the bridge,
- 26:02and I liked the Virgin Mary fight scene because I loved how it was
- 26:06a almost like a shot for shot take off of the Neo Agent Smith in
- 26:11Reloaded. Now do you remember when it came out Reloaded? That fight sequence
- 26:15was huge. I remember everyone was just in awe of the CGI, don't
- 26:18you can you remember? I do remember? Yes, it was like how
- 26:19they going to top the Matrix? Now? They were certainly trying their best
- 26:22because the first one was the bending backwards thing, and this one was like
- 26:26we've got like a million agures stables. Yeah, and you watch it now
- 26:29and you're kind of like, that's a bit it's almost a bit too much.
- 26:32It's a bit of overkill, and by the time you reach Revolutions,
- 26:33it's like, oh, this is too much. Yeah. I watched Revolutions
- 26:37once. I think wanted the movies to watch it. But then we had
- 26:41to do like a class called the Matrix and More. I've mentioned it several
- 26:44times in this podcast. My English year ten class was called the Matrix and
- 26:47More, where we just watched the Matrix and did essays on it. That's
- 26:48all we did. That was the class, right, It's pretty rare.
- 26:49Yeah, it was pretty rad But like whenever it was time to do essays
- 26:52on revolution and then one was like a yes, it's like trying to make
- 26:59up. It's like I don't think they even knew what they were going for
- 27:02here, so I'm not going to try and decode it. It's just too
- 27:04much. If they knew what they were going for, they certainly had trouble
- 27:07expressing it to us. Yes, next question, you there eating the paste?
- 27:11All right. My first question for you, mister Davis is what is
- 27:15the date of Marge's birthday? Oh? Damn. Quite a bit of extra
- 27:18research this one, Yeah, which I failed to do because she said it
- 27:22was Randy Quaid's birthday. Oh that's right. I don't know Randy Quay's birthday,
- 27:25so please tell me his birthday is the same day as my NaN's birthday
- 27:29October first. Oh, okay, will you just see you had up a
- 27:32hand in this well, but not really have to do the research, but
- 27:36you're willing to do research. Yeah. And in the Spain version, I
- 27:38don't know why I remember, because they don't think they'd know who Randy quad
- 27:41is. She said her birthday was the same day as make Ryans, which
- 27:44is November nineteenth. How odd it is? Odd? Yeah, your first
- 27:48question, My first question to you. According to the Goblin code, what
- 27:52must a goblin remove in the presence of the lady? That's literally my second
- 27:55question, Hatton years, Yeah, what do you do? What do you
- 27:57have the press to bring someone back to life? It's a control old second
- 28:03one alte control over old de alt f five repeatedly, five repeatedly. Okay,
- 28:11this is why I don't use computer. Uh HESBLA owns what little Dolly
- 28:18cakes of some kind of cakes? That cakes. I've got here the search
- 28:22results. When Marge giggled herself, can you tell me any of them?
- 28:26Uh? Was one of them? Governor March Simpson. Oh yeah, so
- 28:30it was March Simpson, lieutenant governor of Tennessee seventy two to seven years.
- 28:33There was also I think an actual March. There was actual margin because there
- 28:37was Marge Bouvier or there was March Simpson Springfield folk artist from the one where
- 28:41she builds the popsicle sticks art as well as Oh she wasn't a fake?
- 28:45What was one where she is mum and pop art? Now that was Homer
- 28:48when he hits the things. Yeah. Yeah, We've also got Marge Bouvier
- 28:52Simpson camp Landman alumni directory, which is from the episode The Way We Weren't
- 28:56Went, Homer and Marge kiss for the first time. I don't remember it,
- 28:57and no kids correct and we get Springfield. Sorry, Marge Simpson dashed
- 29:02Springfield Realty from Realty bytes where it was the final line of Heart's appearance and
- 29:06the debut of Gil Anderson. You did your research, Well, I didn't
- 29:11really do the research. It just told me, all right, one more
- 29:15question for you. Which teams were playing opposite one another? In Brighton,
- 29:19England nineteen eighty five Sussex sort of? Yeah, it was Manchester United versus
- 29:26Sussington Sussxton, Hamptonshire upon Leith. Okay, yeah, that's an actual tragedy
- 29:32eighty five crowd. Oh yeah, yeah, you've got some real bad ship
- 29:37that happened at soccer rides and stadium collapses and all that kind of business.
- 29:40That was like the big one. You remember that you obviously you would have
- 29:42been around for it. Yeah. I mean I've heard about it, but
- 29:45people like thirty nine people died or something. I don't recall. It started
- 29:48with h the Hazel Stadium disaster. Yeah, so basically there was a fire
- 29:52breakeout and thirty nine happened to occurred on twenty ninth of May nineteen eighty five,
- 29:56when mostly juven to Juventus Juventus fans escaping from a breach by Liverpool fans
- 30:03were pressed against a collapsing wall in Brussels Belgium before the start of the Cup
- 30:07final between the Italian and English clubs. Thirty one people, mostly Italians,
- 30:11were killed at six hundred were injured in the confrontation. Moly, Yeah,
- 30:15craziness. Yeah, there's one where I'm not sure. I don't think it
- 30:18was that one, but there was some English game where they'll pressed against they
- 30:22couldn't get out. Remember that when they pressed against the fence and they got
- 30:26like suffocated. Yeah, that sounds familiar. Okay, it was like a
- 30:27fire broke out and everyone was trying to get out, but they were trying
- 30:30to push the fence over. They just got crushed. They couldn't get it
- 30:33out. Horrifying. Horror. And speaking of horrifying, let's review by the
- 30:37Gamer. No. So, the original air day of March Gamer was April
- 30:41twenty second, two thousand and seven, apparently in a couple of days after
- 30:45the debut of The Simpsons and The Tracy Elman Show. Yeah, with their
- 30:48short good Night. I've never watched all of the Tracy Elma shorts. That's
- 30:51one thing I'm going to have to do one day. We should do that,
- 30:53and maybe even podcasts about it. Was that still a podcast about him?
- 30:56Why not? They can you go for a couple of minutes each,
- 30:57Let's do it. And it was written by Jay Stuart Burns and directed by
- 31:00Bob Anderson. So the episode kicks off obviously there's no no chalk gap,
- 31:06but the catch gag was the cash gag nation on the headline. Yes,
- 31:11So the episode kicks off with the PTA meeting's fail your children to get them.
- 31:15I feel like I'm going to start going to some of these with Ali
- 31:18going, Oh, they start school in one week. It's crazy, right,
- 31:21father, time is just you know, when you started this podcast,
- 31:23Elliott was eighteen months old. He's now going to school. Oh my god,
- 31:33oh man dear. When I started this podcast. When I started this
- 31:37podcast, Elliott was still three years from conception. The show's a bit of
- 31:44a veteran. Nearly nine years old. Wow, right, nearly nine years
- 31:48of my life's been doing this show. Nine years. Have been sticking with
- 31:49us. Thank you for all of your support over the years. But they've
- 31:52sold the Science Department skeleton and have replaced it with the costume Willian and Halloween
- 31:57costume returns it to the plastic snapcase. The Italian Triple Trip to Italy is
- 32:00now going to be a trip to Papa John's and they would not be getting
- 32:02their fifte hred deposit back. Good animation, you see super charm. It's
- 32:08just sort of looking over. It's gonna just discuss itself. Really, you,
- 32:13how have you let this get so bad Papa John's. I consense that
- 32:17I would like this place. I thought I'd go there and be like,
- 32:20give me the biggest pizza you have. It's a pizza chain and the chain
- 32:23is it? Okay? Yeah? It just don't know, just screams Dando's
- 32:27Life, Dando's Heaven. This is the last time I'm going to mention this
- 32:30because I think you're getting sick of it. But there was that WTF interview
- 32:34with Bone. We get it, you want to circle joke with I do
- 32:37I do my new besties but we collect books? Well no, no,
- 32:43no, But he was talking about how we grew up in this college town
- 32:45in the US, New Haven, Connecticut, and they apparently have like these
- 32:49competing pizza parlors and there's this whole like actually, there's more than one ninety
- 32:53minute documentary on YouTube about New Haven pizza because everyone talks about like, oh
- 32:59should go, it's got deep just pizza or New Pizza and Best and New
- 33:01Haven Pizza was apparently like the best kept secret in the world that what was
- 33:05called Pizza Haven. I don't know, do you remember Pizza Haven? Was
- 33:07there a pizza where was that in Geelong? I remember Pizza Haven? The
- 33:10friend was not Pizza Hut, but and Dougie the guy was that the I
- 33:14thought Dougie was the Pizza Hut guy. I'm certain he was Pizza Haven Pizza
- 33:20even this could just be like you know sometimes you think, you ever think
- 33:22that never you're doing is that this? No, that's not the Mezza Haven
- 33:25was an Australian New Zealand pizza restaurant. There it is there, Pizza Haven.
- 33:29The lego was vivid in my memory? Remember that? Oh yes,
- 33:31I do remember that. But I'm pretty sure that Dougie was Pizza Hut.
- 33:35Was he really? Okay, I'm certain he was Pizza Haven anyway, the
- 33:38pizza guy, he's what happened to him. He ends up hosting a game
- 33:42show called Challenger with kids. You watch it and you're like, were you
- 33:45doing this because of like community service? Because you're clearly not wanting to be
- 33:47there? Yeah? Well, I mean it's incredible how you certain things get
- 33:52stuck in your head. I mean Dmi Demid Heydenreich and his sister was like
- 33:57in a band called Girlfriend, like a girl group. Yeah. Is he
- 34:00hosted the game show Challenge until he left the show. Yeah. Yeah,
- 34:04and he was kind of like he was Pizzah, you're right, Dugget the
- 34:06pizza delivery guy. Yeah, but he sort of parlayed that into a bit
- 34:08of a bit of a thing. He was on Water Rats and Mcloud's Daughters.
- 34:13Yeah, he's underbelly. What impact of the rafters Home and Away it
- 34:17is? Scout, Let's get do get the pizza guy on? Why not?
- 34:23Let's give it a whirl? Yeah, speaking of right fun fact,
- 34:28one of our upcoming guests is going to be Tom Libertore from the Western Bulldogs
- 34:31because he is known for having the Simpsons tattoos. Have you seen the tattoo
- 34:35he's got I haven't yet. Yes, So he's got the my god,
- 34:37you're greasy on Homer and then the greasy what's his name? Squeaking voice team
- 34:43on the other armor put him together. He's a big Simpsons fan. So
- 34:46Tom Libertore of the Australian football team Western Bulldogs is going to be coming on
- 34:50the podcast to review an episode going to be here next week. Yeah,
- 34:52you're gonna doing a classic episode of the Simpsons. Looking forward to that.
- 34:55Yes, Indeed, Magi Roswell was coming on the show soon as well.
- 34:59I did see that. Is that just just for you, Daniel? Well,
- 35:00it's going to be at four thirty in the morning on a Thursday.
- 35:04Are you up for it? That's going to be just ending. Yes.
- 35:10And also I'm going to be doing another show with a guy from what culture.
- 35:15His name is Michael Hamphlet. He's on their wrestling podcast and we're going
- 35:19to be reviewing another like three AM episodes. I was like, I don't
- 35:22even buy the asking guy we're going to be reviewing. It's gonna be like
- 35:24an extra episode The Old Man and the Lisa where she does the Simpsons the
- 35:29Little Lisa Slurry because Brett he's been hearts on the episode like a wrestling tie
- 35:31in there. It's a very very exciting guest coming up here on four thing
- 35:35a discamp. But yeah, Doug get the pizza guy. He was We
- 35:37had pizza Hut here in Australia and he was like the mass guy. I
- 35:40guess on the commercials was, and it's like Dugy the pizza guys here.
- 35:43Yeah, he was like a human Spuds Mackenzie. Yeah he really was.
- 35:46Yeah, I'm just looking at him here. I'm like, I don't think
- 35:49we're getting him on the show after I called him that. So Sputs tell
- 35:52us we will conclude by passing around a sheet on which I would like everyone's
- 35:57email address. What's wrong? I can't fill out that clipboard. I don't
- 36:07have email. Oh, mate, you gotta get on the net. It's
- 36:12got all the best conspiracy theories. Did you know that Hesbella owns Little Dolly
- 36:16snackcakes? This stuff will rock your world? Fine? I want the wow
- 36:22or yippie or okay or pooka dooka, whatever it's called. Can we move
- 36:27this meeting along? I pay my taxes, I expect my orange drink,
- 36:37Amprodusia. Then we get slach mel Oh why why do we get mail?
- 36:42What was the fucking point of this? Oh? What actually was the point?
- 36:45Added nothing to the scene, didn't fur the story, made no sense.
- 36:50What was the point of it? Ambrosia? What the fuck? What
- 36:53is going on? Am I losing my mind? Is there something I'm not
- 36:57saying here? You're not. Now this is terror, You're probably gonna boot
- 37:00off the podcast. But her voice is Melligan. It's Dan, It's Dan.
- 37:05Okay, well they is there some Is there something in Dan's contract where
- 37:08he's like, yeah, I get an extra I get a pay boost if
- 37:12you know, I do more than no, because he's not the one right
- 37:14in the episode, he's just doing a tellme to do. I just think
- 37:16that they just the writers obviously just had a thing for Mal. I can't
- 37:20wait to get like Matt Salmone or whoever back on the show and be like,
- 37:22what was the fascination with Mal? What is the deal with Mal?
- 37:25I just do not understand. Marge then goes online for the first time.
- 37:30She finds out the weather. I don't have to go outside anymore, and
- 37:32then she never gotside to shop either. She's shopping online for peppertowel. She
- 37:36finds sixty six cents. Get in the car. We're going to Pennsylvania.
- 37:38That's literally the thing you and I have discussed before. Somewhere has something five
- 37:42dollars cheaper, and you'll spend seven dollars in a feel to get there.
- 37:44Correct, We're not smart. We're not smart at all. We're impulsive apes,
- 37:50is what were? Marge has six hundred and twenty eight thousand results when
- 37:52she googles herself, and all the time she thought googling herself and something else
- 37:55kind of does. Homer is now naked on Google Google Earth because she looks
- 37:59up the house refuses. We've already discussed this. Hease planning his parents.
- 38:01He's naked now. At dinner time, Marge's explaining everything that she's learned by
- 38:06going online. Same birthday as Randy Quaid and whatnot. And little political joke
- 38:09here from Lisa. You're the same as Christopher Columbus, discovering something that millions
- 38:15of people already knew about before. Then she sent everyone an e card on
- 38:17Saint Patrick's day. This was thisou be what it was like. This is
- 38:21like the equivalent of poking people. You poke someone and they wouldn't poke back,
- 38:25and you're like, did I do something I poked? You poke me
- 38:30back? It's like, hey, how you doing? It's me. But
- 38:32she's been getting no replies from anybody, so she keeps sitting refresh, refreshed,
- 38:36refresh, refresh, And it's so true. That's the result. You
- 38:38know, when you post a meme more. You post something and you get
- 38:40a lot of traction. Yes, you get so greedy and you get addicted
- 38:44and you're like, I need to post another thing, And when the next
- 38:45one doesn't get tracks, and you're like, what did I do wrong?
- 38:49What was it about this? Well? Why didn't three thousand people like this
- 38:52one? But then she goes through all the different banner ads, stalky classmates
- 38:55vote for president when a boat single am racist, And she finds Earthland Earthland
- 39:01Realms and RPG game and she comes through the terms and conditions just click agree.
- 39:07It's very much. We don't read the terms of conditions, but Marge,
- 39:09I can believe it's a composon who would read them. Yes indeed.
- 39:12Yeah, I mean, oh god, they're just they're so long. Listen
- 39:15print is so small. Yeah yeah, No, it's just they're gonna get
- 39:20my infun anyway, it's my mum. Basically, it's like, you know,
- 39:22she's the kind of person who will hear out of tellermarket just to see
- 39:24what they've got to say. And I'm like, you know, you're not
- 39:27gonna hang up. Its gonna be a good deal, but it'soped I'm not
- 39:30gonna hang up on them. That's rude. I'm like, they called you
- 39:32a six thirty during dinner time. But my mum and dad they're funny with
- 39:37like I'm not gonna put my credit card on something. I'm like, you
- 39:39literally entered your details together, Like they know all your details are online.
- 39:44You know you've you've bought something online, you're on eBay. Yeah, yeah,
- 39:46but I don't want them to have it. I'm like, if you've
- 39:49given it to someone, the whole world's going Yeah, but they just can't
- 39:51wrap their heads around that, like that. Everyone knows all the information already.
- 39:53Yeah, it's already out there. Yeah, you're putting a small degree
- 39:58of trust in the hands of I don't know whoever you've given it to.
- 40:00It's like, yeah, I hope your firewalls strong enough. Yeah. So
- 40:05she creates a character though Marge not a woman with bazooms. She gets shoes
- 40:08that are sensible, body type, olive oil and face other and just looks
- 40:15like Marge. And then let's roll play. Oh like that that it's very
- 40:19much. It's very much, yes, but it fit the episode. And
- 40:22then she says, like a renaissance fair with a chubby couples and she just
- 40:24walks into the wall. Now, this is a gag that I can appreciate
- 40:28because when I'm playing games, I'm talking of them and just walking to the
- 40:30wall. Just that's sort of like the go to visual for like gamers you
- 40:34don't know how to game right very much? Yeah, just walking to a
- 40:37war and Grandpa's doing the same thing in real life. Then the Wizard gives
- 40:39her a quest. Greetings, cleric, will you undertake a quest on my
- 40:45behalf? Maybe I should run this by my husband. First, things are
- 40:50more fun if you just answer yes, then yes, hiving me for a
- 40:53fan mine arduous quests once again, just yes, yes. First you might
- 41:00fine the almond ale of nux and ore, I see us that wrong?
- 41:06You have phoned it. And then Marge is instantly hooked and she goes to
- 41:09cook a stew and needs more goat sole and she's been up all day and
- 41:14Bark visits that it's been up all day and night. That was funny,
- 41:16that's not saturday. Barke goes to play golf. Marge then needs some sleep,
- 41:21but she's addicted. She can't sleep, and I think we've all been
- 41:22there, right, You point me like I should probably go to bed,
- 41:27but just one more, just one more? Oh yeah, absolutely, just
- 41:30one more YouTube video or for me, mean it's less computers and were like,
- 41:35oh, one more episode of this show. Yes, yes, hashtag
- 41:37now watching your podcast? Oh not a bad idea. Sman is already now
- 41:42watching podcast? Probably yes, but Marge, yes, I said, she's
- 41:46hooked in the game. She's playing it a lot, and she finds a
- 41:50poo is playing the game as well. For some reason, I watched this
- 41:53the first time last week and rewatch it today. I thought there was more
- 41:55characters in the game, but I like that there wasn't that many, because
- 42:00it would be a bit unrealist that everyone in Springfield is playing this. Absolutely
- 42:02yeah, yep. So she finds a Pooh and then she finds Snake,
- 42:06who is prison guardsing that he's on the law degree. Then missus Kay,
- 42:09matter where she is, she's sexy. Ha Medieval is always a little bit
- 42:15sexy. I think she's my cartoon crush these days, he's your cartoon crush.
- 42:17Oh gosh. When I was a kid, it was Jessica Rabbit,
- 42:22but now it's Missus Kay. I would I would say Velma from Scooby Do,
- 42:27except more like the live action filmas Linda Garden, they've made Veilma weird
- 42:31now Yeah, and also yeah, the Mindy Kaling Filma is just apparently not
- 42:35good and that big giling enchantress is missus Cobble. This game is a great
- 42:39way to meet eligible man who can afford a computer access to one of the
- 42:45school library. It's amazing how you can be a turkey in every reality.
- 42:51What's important is we're talking. I'm oh, I'm playing this while I'm on
- 42:55a can Wow, Ma, you're a troll. No, my character is
- 43:00supposed to look like me. Why does everyone keep thinking I'm a troll?
- 43:19Who are we hiding from this shadow Night? Where he rides death? He's
- 43:22sure to follow the Shadow Night. He's the most evil, destructive player in
- 43:27this game. He once beat me to death with my own life bar.
- 43:30Everyone's just hiding. Then he kills Principal Skinner with his flame sword or whatever
- 43:34it's called, and who then eats it because he's good and moist. Then
- 43:37Marge, she says, I can't watch this. This is just weird.
- 43:39So she overhears bart Is the is the Night King, and she's very very
- 43:43proud of him, as she would be. Yeah, he's running the show.
- 43:45The thing is though, in this game, so this is based on
- 43:49the world of warcraft. In those kind of game, I'm assuming when you
- 43:51die, you just respawn. So why is that when someone dies in the
- 43:53game, it's like they're dead. Like when Marge died let him every side,
- 43:57I'm like, did she not just respawn white of them? Yeah,
- 44:00I mean this is the thing. I mean, she clearly well, she
- 44:01seems like she's very cluey about the game getting better at her she goes along,
- 44:07so you think she'd know about respawning or just restarting or whatever. I
- 44:10mean, I can understand if Skinner was kind of like, oh, I'm
- 44:13dead. I guess this means I can't play this game anymore. Yeah,
- 44:15just a bit of a clueless oldly when it comes to the video, not
- 44:19unlike you and I. Yeah, but you think that Marge would probably understand
- 44:22a bit more. And this has just been playing of course. Yeah.
- 44:24But the next I come back from commercial Shadow Night, he's really really tired
- 44:28Lady Milhouse, who has a spell on him which the Shadow Night hasn't reversed
- 44:31yet. He says that, you know, he's just trying to be his
- 44:34helper. Then Marge arrives and I've got here. She got into his castle
- 44:37pretty easy for someone who's trying to be secretive, but she says, the
- 44:42millhouse is pretty it's a spell and thank you. Then, but I like
- 44:45this, How would you like it if I came shopping with you? I
- 44:50mean, I think we could all see that one coming. But it's still
- 44:53I like the way Julie said it. Yeah, we're now at Moe's or
- 44:57the Moe's equivalent in Esthland Realms. So why is the Margee being a Bart
- 45:01in the even in the game because he knows? Yeah, but the Shadow
- 45:06Night says, squeeze the blood from the pixie head and hit yourself with this
- 45:08mace, reciting the Goblin code. Then Mark Marge walks in and embarrasses Bart.
- 45:14I assumed that the whole thing was going to be that no one knew
- 45:15who the Shadow Night was, and then margor accident revealed it at some point,
- 45:21But he just like takes off his mask because she walks and says,
- 45:22hey Bart. I'm like, oh, so everyone knows it's Bart again.
- 45:25But I guess the thing is they can't do it because his character was so
- 45:29powerful regardless of who's running the show. That the way, it doesn't matter
- 45:31if it's a kid. I had to wait until his energy was was depleted.
- 45:35Yeah, home and then sees so now after second at home and then
- 45:38sees less addressing for soccer. Yeah, so it was a fair way into
- 45:42the episode. Yeah, conscious about you shouldn't a about the boobs. She
- 45:45says she watched bend It like Beckham. I've never seen Benda like Beckham.
- 45:50I don't think. I think I've only said it once. It's perfectly nice.
- 45:53Yeah. It was big at the time. Oh yeah, very big.
- 45:55Yeah, but I think every like everyone was jumping on board the key
- 46:00a nightly train. They were so to speak, every five to ten years.
- 46:05It felt like ee, like five years. It felt like a big
- 46:07British movie came around. Yes, the first one I can remember that really
- 46:09took off from in my ear. It was The Full Monthy. That's the
- 46:13earliest one I can remember that was really like big. Then it was like
- 46:15Bendall like Beckham, and Billy Elliott was huge as well. Billy. It
- 46:17was very big. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, well one other ones have
- 46:20come around Snatch, oh yeah, well lock Stock before that. Yeah,
- 46:27something that I've put one of my contenders in the upcoming movie Guys sweepsakes of
- 46:31course, four Weddings in the Funeral, which was very big back in ninety
- 46:34four. It was the British It is holy shit. Didn't realize that certainly
- 46:37is That's one of the ones that I've always just had on my nicol and
- 46:42I will enjoy this, I know we will. We'll watch it one day,
- 46:44but at the moment, we're getting through all the action movies that I
- 46:45want to see when I was a kid. So it finished like as I
- 46:50wa washing it. What's it called the equal Equalized? Yes, because apparently
- 46:52part two is okay, Part two is not bad, and part three is
- 46:54pretty good as well. Is that part three? There's a third? Are
- 46:57you kidding me? I'm not shuting you. Yes. I was blown away
- 47:00by how violent it was, though I was fucking not expecting this. Oh
- 47:04yeah, they're very, very brutal. I could not believe. I was
- 47:07like, oh, so John Wick just ripped this off, right, Yeah,
- 47:12I think they were ripped off. Taken, Yeah, we see,
- 47:15Taken wasn't a violent though probably Taken was, Like I mean, taken,
- 47:21is that the maker of I have a particular set of skills. That's true.
- 47:23It's violent, but not necessarily bloody. And it's just very much like
- 47:28John wicklock we were saying, Taken's just like they've kidnapped his daughter. That's
- 47:30what you need. That's all you need. Give us an inciting incident and
- 47:37then just let the mayhem happen. Taken is awesome, Right, I'm not
- 47:39wrong in saying it's an awesome movie. It's pretty good. Yeah, I'm
- 47:43not what it's supposed to be. Yeah, I mean they're stretching it by
- 47:45doing taken To and Taken. I mean it's like, take the one I'm
- 47:49talking about, Taken one, yes, take the rest of the movies out
- 47:51there. Taken To is like, oh, you've done it again. Ah,
- 47:54someone else take it then the first time I'll announced the wife. Ah
- 48:00see Taking Force coming out? No, No, I'd be excited for what
- 48:06they should make it and call it taken for granted. Yeah, that's the
- 48:09thing. Are you a fan of that? Using the four or the two
- 48:13in the title? No? And quite frankly, a good friend of mine
- 48:17on john Wick Forever, that's how long a fucking goes for good friend of
- 48:22mine on Twitter, as as his bios. If you spell seven. You
- 48:27know how seven with the seven is that if you actually spell it like that,
- 48:30putting you on a watch list. That's the thing. Seven the number
- 48:34does not look like a V. No, so how did Why can my
- 48:37brain read it like that? Then it's just weird. I guess could have
- 48:38seen the number, but I'm like, that doesn't ever look like a V.
- 48:40Yeah, just because of that Dannward's diagonal line, I guess. But
- 48:44yeah, it's put it's pushing it. But no, I'm not a fan
- 48:46of yeah putting the putting the number in the thing or anything like that.
- 48:50No, I don't like it. I want I mean, apparently they've started
- 48:53filming Tron three. Uh, and you know they had the sort of a
- 48:59logo up for three. I'm probably gonna try and bring that back to the
- 49:04millions time. Yeah, but the logo had t U three in It's like
- 49:09that's that doesn't make sense. That doesn't make sense a trend. Yeah,
- 49:13it's like I suppose the three if you do it certain way, it looks
- 49:15a bit like a zero. But no, no, let's not do that.
- 49:21Let's not let's not do it self conscious about your shins. Right day,
- 49:28girls were worried about your boobs, dad, I'm going to play soccer.
- 49:34I fell in love with the game when I saw then it Like Beckham
- 49:37father, I am proud of my cultural heritage, but I also love soccer.
- 49:44Tell him, Jazz Minder, I forbid you to bend attract Beckham.
- 49:47Plus, you must marry this complete stranger. His father is an important business
- 49:52acquaintance of mine. Love counts for nothing, you tell her, mister Dunnaby,
- 49:54business contacts are more important than love. Wait, dad, sucker,
- 50:00we always called it human football. Would you like me to take you to
- 50:05your game? You already promised you would. Oh do I have to?
- 50:08Then? Krusty is the coach of her team. He says, there's going
- 50:10to know ref. They've canceled, So the whole game is canceled, and
- 50:14Homer overhears that kids share their snacks with the ref. So he puts on
- 50:16his foot locker uniform because he's been fired. He's warning the uniform. Homer
- 50:20then hits the flag. Guy, i'm your father now, basically just him
- 50:23being not a very respectable jerk aus Homer. Yes, He rips his shirt
- 50:29off and his sports bra vomits in the cone. This is very angry.
- 50:31At him for a good reason. She said, you're turning my new thing
- 50:34into and you turn it into a joke, and not the hilarious kind of
- 50:37joke, as she says. And she's disappointed but not surprised. Meanwhile,
- 50:40in Earthland realm Marge is going down the bad path and she comes across mister
- 50:44Burns, who's like a big premantus or something. He's looking for a Wall
- 50:46Street online and then she comes across the bullies who are about to kill her,
- 50:51but the Shadow Night Bart kills them. Well, well, looks like
- 50:54something's finally about to happen in this game. Just in time. I was
- 50:59about to go to the priory barn side to get design ideas. It's a
- 51:06shadow night run. I forget how to do that controls. Thank you,
- 51:13barn. This frame grab is going on my coffee cup. You guys want
- 51:17to meet it to quickie mart I'm in the tub right now. I'm in
- 51:21Denmark. Meanwhile, Homer is doing now doing well as a soccer coach SOCA
- 51:24referee. You know, he's taken Lisa's disappointment on board and he has learn
- 51:29the rules and everything is Lisa's very impressed. He's watched hours and hours of
- 51:31soccer and you almost saw a God. I'll never get tired of those jokes.
- 51:36I mean, you watched something when I was in England. The World
- 51:39Cup was on, Well it was at the World Cup, Yeah, the
- 51:40Women's World Cup, and like they get so excited over it, like nothing.
- 51:46Oh, I like, and I know it's not nothing. English listens.
- 51:50I'm not saying it's nothing, but I was like, we're so I
- 51:52used to watching Australian rules football where it's happening all the time. There's always
- 51:54something happening, and they're just like go to the note and I'm just like,
- 51:58there's nowhere near the fucking there. Yeah. I mean I think like
- 52:01most Australians, we watched the Matilda's last year and I think it was a
- 52:06lot of last year. Yeah, a lot of For a lot of us.
- 52:08It was our introduction to watching women's soccer, watching soccer in general.
- 52:13The World Cup two thousand and six was the big one. Yeah. I
- 52:15remember being in a nightclub mate and everyone in the nightclub was watching him,
- 52:17Like next week we are not going to watch soccer, but right now everyone
- 52:21the nightclub like dropped. There was like football games when the Matilda's are on,
- 52:23like the AFL was on at the same time. They literally had an
- 52:27extended break and put the game on the big screen for MCG. Like.
- 52:30But I remember two thousand and six when they show got into the World Cup
- 52:32for the first time. It was huge. Man, Maybe just because it
- 52:36was the right I was the right age. I don't know. Oh,
- 52:37I speaking for myself certainly, watching the Matildas last year it was like,
- 52:39oh, this is their time we've actually sort of really sat down and watched
- 52:43the whole game was like, hmm okay, yeah, stuff's happening. Yeah,
- 52:46this is not exactly a thriller minute. It's more like a thrill every
- 52:50five minutes. Yeah. Also, I don't quite understand the rules either,
- 52:53which doesn't help, apologizes to all our soccer or football official. Yeah,
- 53:00but I like to get Jessica love Joy here. We haven't seen her since
- 53:04I don't think. Yeah, but yeah, say that troubled marriage and Lisa
- 53:07then trips over her own feet. Homer calls a fowl, and Jessica Lovejoy
- 53:09and Helen love Joy goes ape. Shit, admit it, I'm a spectator
- 53:14addressing a player, and so me. She yells at Homer, she drops
- 53:17the j bomb and he throws them both out of the game. I hate
- 53:21that. There's I kind of like turn the love joint like a cuck,
- 53:23like you know, it's just like you know, he just sort of it's
- 53:25become amost like Skinner and missus Ka Skinner and Agnes almost where he's just like
- 53:30yes, yes, yes love just like no yeah love. Joy used to
- 53:32sort of have a bit of saste, a bit of mojo about it.
- 53:36Yeah, yeah, but what was the episode the Listen Lady one? Yeah,
- 53:40where he had to save the day? I remember at the end with
- 53:44the baboons and all that, because Slanders gets gives Flanners some bad advice.
- 53:49But Lisa then Lisa gets the idea, oh he's thrown them out. Maybe
- 53:52I can use this to my advantage. Oh yeah, I mean it's always
- 53:54it's always good when Lisa who Yeah, as we said, generally the moral
- 53:59sort of compass of the show. So yeah, it goes a little skew
- 54:00with Yep. She takes a dive. Every other kid must pay her a
- 54:04dollar, and he says to clear us that your kids a dirty player and
- 54:07says, I'm to take this from any Hillbilly Hill William to you. So
- 54:12then Ronaldo arrives and he says he travels the world now exposing floppers. Lisa
- 54:15is a flopper, you heard Heraldo, So he gives Lisa the yellow card
- 54:21and she's like, you can't do that. You're my father. He says,
- 54:23well, these shorts on, I'm not your father anymore, and given
- 54:25how tight they are, nobody else is either. I'm not gonna be anywhere
- 54:29else either, and then she rips up the card, so he throws her
- 54:30out of the game and Rinaldo red carters. Yes, of course, he
- 54:34throws her out. Yeah, and Ronaldo is proud that he broke up another
- 54:36family. Bart then finds his trophy room, which has been given the Hello
- 54:40Kidney expansion pack treatment. I like the faith it was an expansion pack.
- 54:45I am a fan of the term expansion yea. But this is where he
- 54:49starts smashing it all and accidentally kills Marge with his mace. So planned to
- 54:52see with the mace earlier with Mo, and he excellently killed March with him.
- 54:55Marge is now annoyed in the real world, and Bart explained that you
- 54:59know, you know, anyway, I wasn't and joined the game anymore because
- 55:00you were in there. Then Lisa and Homer arrived home. You ruined my
- 55:02life. It's funny. Nicholas sister. Her daughter is six months younger than
- 55:07Elliott, so she's like five. I think there's just turned five. Apparently
- 55:12she's just like they started school earlier in English, so she's already started school
- 55:14and she's only just turned five. That's like young, right, what they're
- 55:16smarter than I. I don't know they understand socker, but she said something
- 55:22on the lines of you're ruining my life, and I'm like, kid,
- 55:23you're five. You have plenty of under on your ass. You do,
- 55:29indeed, but by jumping Johnny Cakes, there was Dames of Cheese and I'll
- 55:35never understand Heim if I lived to be forty, and that probably isn't gonna
- 55:37happen. Enjoying my lasts. But then he goes to watch Homer smash on
- 55:40beers at Mos and we get them the moment I discussed earlier with what's the
- 55:44Matter, which doesn't really make any sense, but I appreciated it. Homer
- 55:47then brings Lisa a DVD to try and mate do and apologize, and there's
- 55:52a BBC doco in cooperation with a canal plus I believe so, although he
- 55:55puts the French pronunciation on it loosen and it's about the nineteen eighty five Soucing
- 56:00Crowd tragedy. Twenty years later, they're still going on. They still fired
- 56:04and get the Virgin Mary stature coming to life and bet everybody else as well
- 56:07in pure disgust. It's basically where Lisa realizes, oh shit, you know
- 56:10I've done the wrong thing. Meanwhile, Bart brings Marge back to life in
- 56:13the game as best as he could, because she's still got It's kind of
- 56:16like a is it minotaur? We got legs like a horse. Central Centaur
- 56:21Centaur. Yes, this would be a pop culturesque store in marble Coode Minuteaur.
- 56:24Did you ever go there? I certainly did. I spent a great
- 56:27deal of money there because they had insane markup, but also a very very
- 56:31good store. I always have to go down the escalator to get there.
- 56:35During a New World there was like there were like three different locations. Was
- 56:37there really? Oh? Actually, I'll tell you what I remember. The
- 56:39first day I discovered it. Yeah, it was back in like the late
- 56:44eighty How amazing did we discover a store and you're like, this is everything
- 56:46I've ever wanted. Yeah, because I mean I was. It was really
- 56:49just a comic book store to begin with. It was a little one in
- 56:52some in arcade in Burke Street, yep. And I don't know how I
- 56:57ended up there. I mean I might have just been walking past and saw
- 56:59us and said to a comics I'm still there to sixty four Little Colin Street.
- 57:04Okay, yeah, yeah, it's sill, right because I think they're
- 57:05in like a third location. Okay, yeah, because I think oh no,
- 57:08no, no, no, that's their fourth wow. Yeah, because
- 57:13I wondered they got the markup. Yeah. But oh god. I remember
- 57:15the first time winning this was like maybe eighty five or so, and I
- 57:17was pretty into comic books at this stage, and it's like, oh my
- 57:21god. You know, it was just great. It was like, yeah,
- 57:23all you sell is comics before online shopping. Yeah oh yeah, yeah,
- 57:28I mean and sort of pre you know, nerd culture taking over the
- 57:31world. It's like, oh, this is a special store for special people.
- 57:36And then I guess, you know, it started getting bigger and bigger,
- 57:38and it moved to a different location. I think, gone, no,
- 57:42no, yeah, moved to it was initially on Burke Straight and then
- 57:46it moved to Elizabeth Street. It was one before Elizabeth Street. Yeah,
- 57:52anyway, whatever it is, yeah, yeah, but anyway kick our store
- 57:54at the time, the upshot is fantastic store. Loved it, loved it,
- 57:58loved it. Yeah. Yeah. The thing is, now, now
- 58:00that I've worked at a store like that, being pop culture and I've seen
- 58:04how much shit actually costs, I'm like, I am paying that much for
- 58:07it? Absolutely, CD. Are you here to forgive me? No?
- 58:14Oh, but to get that DVD, I had to become a PBO subscriber.
- 58:17No, I'm paying for crap like American Masters. Dad, I can't
- 58:23forgive you because there's nothing to forgive BO. You are right to kick me
- 58:29out of that game. Soccer was making me insane, just as it did
- 58:32the continents of Europe and South America. Those places are pretty terrible. So
- 58:37from now on, I'll play soccer for the same reason I study chemistry for
- 58:40fun. Then the mob arrived to slave art and taking his experience points,
- 58:46and he threatens to eat their houses in real life. If he does my
- 58:49miscases, don't give a shit, it'll be are worth it. She stabs
- 58:52her in the face, and I was like, this is kind of harsh.
- 58:53Yeah, And like I said, I live in the loft, so
- 58:55it won't matter. And they beating the definite these own arms. It just
- 58:59reminded me of Python. Oh yes, getting his arms cut off and everything
- 59:01like that, and they dance with his entrails. Now, there was in
- 59:05the crowd Paddy and some were a dragon. I'm not sure whether you saw
- 59:07them in the background of a shop or whether it's a deleted scene or something,
- 59:10because it's odd that you would design that the only song from behind so
- 59:15Patty and some of it, it's like it's with it. You would go
- 59:16throughout much effort to design that unless there was like a scene with them.
- 59:20So maybe there was a deleted scene somewhere with Marge with Patty and somewhere as
- 59:22a dragon. Quite possibly. Yeah, yeah, you're right, Why I
- 59:24go to all that effort and expense. Yeah. Marge then says that you
- 59:29know, all these people down one by one, don't you worry, but
- 59:30says, yeah, whatever, I going to go play outside. I do
- 59:34think this episode would have been better if it ended with Marge joining the family
- 59:37at the end, because it was nice sceneing home and playing with Ronaldo and
- 59:39the kids playing soccer out in the backyard, but Marge is just kicking most
- 59:43had like a soccer ball in the game. I think Marge joined the film
- 59:45would have been a better and I think so I would have been more in
- 59:49keeping with them. What we like from the Simpsons, Yeah, which is
- 59:52family. Yes, But overall, on yet another enjoyble episode, He's eighteen
- 59:57not bad at all, not bad at all. Yes, I appreciated the
- 59:59fact that that didn't go full gameer nerd. Indeed, look, it did
- 1:00:01give us too much such m mel but you know which like three seconds still
- 1:00:06too much? It's I agree, still too much. What do we learn
- 1:00:10bomb, What do you learn from the episode of the Davis that canal plus
- 1:00:15is indeed the name you can trust it is Indeed, I learned that googling
- 1:00:17yourself has two meanings. Aha. From forward, your name will be all
- 1:00:22right. It is time for the Guy Davis New Name Championship. Here on
- 1:00:27the four Fingered Discant Network, you can't leaderboard stands at this in first position
- 1:00:31we have Philip J. Hawkins on twenty points, Kyle Mile doing clever Kyle
- 1:00:36in second position on sixteen points, and Luke McKay. He started again on
- 1:00:39twelve points in third position. Take it away, Okay, one point goes
- 1:00:44too. Now I'm gonna ask you to do a little visualization here, because
- 1:00:49this is not just wordplay but also visual play. They for podcasting. That
- 1:00:54is correct, So bracis for a very long description. But the tide is
- 1:01:00wow, mom, Oh yes, but it's capital W lowercase. Oh,
- 1:01:05capital W, as gamers will know, that stands for what Dan do?
- 1:01:09What a warcraft? Oh my god, it stands for it just meant wow,
- 1:01:15I haven't gone a crandle a this wow mom? And whoever gave us
- 1:01:20this also put the capital M lowercase, Oh, capital M. So it
- 1:01:24looks nice. It does look cool, isn't it. Yeah, so it's
- 1:01:28it's pretty good. Turn it upside down and you get is it just woe
- 1:01:30one again? You get where this probably deserves more than one point. But
- 1:01:36still, whoever's gonna take your point and be happy? And it's slick mackay.
- 1:01:39He's under the game. Luke, you're already doing so well. You
- 1:01:43know, here you go. But it's on thirteen points, so he's still
- 1:01:45three points behind, three points behind cover Kyle. That's well, that was
- 1:01:51clever. Luke, because that was pretty good. That was indeed three points
- 1:01:53behind clever Kyle okay with thirteen Yeah, that makeeem clever, Luke, He's
- 1:01:58very clever. Okay, two points four mom Line Gaming. Oh that is
- 1:02:02David Mott. I like it, Momline Gaming, very very, very very
- 1:02:06good. David Mott with under the two points that puts him now on six
- 1:02:08points. What I'm say now approximately, Well, I don't know how long
- 1:02:13this episode is going to be after Dano edits out all my waffling, but
- 1:02:16about an hour ago we planted a seed mentioned lan what is a sample local
- 1:02:23area networks? Wait a minute, got a googod it and three points goes
- 1:02:29to Marge on the land and guy did not know who this was. I
- 1:02:34did not know who this was, and it was Philip J. Hawkins.
- 1:02:39What honestly, again reiterating listeners go on in blind the guy Davis new name
- 1:02:45challenge is incorruptible. I'm not looking at whoever's giving us these titles. That's
- 1:02:51a great title. It's a pretty good title. So Philip J. Hawkins
- 1:02:54is now seven clear on top with five episodes to go. So I don't
- 1:03:00know it still happened. You can still catch up to it. Just need
- 1:03:01a couple of threes. But Philip J Hawks on twenty three, Kyle muldoone
- 1:03:05sixteen, Luke McKay on thirteen. Remember you want to be part of the
- 1:03:07Guy Davis New Name Championship. Just got to be a supporter of ours on
- 1:03:09page your name when the leader board you entered the wild card draw for the
- 1:03:13end of the season. But now it is time for some mail bag mail
- 1:03:16bag bail. First question if from Andrew JP, what referee slash umpire controversy
- 1:03:24has stuck with you? For me, it's the not six again call in
- 1:03:28the twenty nineteen Nral Grand Final potentially cost my Camber Raiders a drought breaking premiership.
- 1:03:32We don't remember that because I don't follow and they're up. But there
- 1:03:37was one, the big one when you were younger growing up for football was
- 1:03:39remember when the ball got smacked back in It was Collywood Culton and the ball
- 1:03:43was clearly added bounds and the player punches it back over and the guy grabs
- 1:03:45the kicks gold wins the Grand Final. It's like that ball is about three
- 1:03:49feet over the boundary for AFL. I remember there was like it's always like
- 1:03:55when it's a close game, it's always blamed the umpire, the umps.
- 1:03:59It's like everything happened up to that point doesn't matter though. It's just that's
- 1:04:01that's the reason they lost. You know what a big referee decision that can
- 1:04:05you remember anything? You don't A very big sport guy the way, Not
- 1:04:09really, No, I mean I actually I've got to say though, I
- 1:04:11gained a new sort of respect for tennis umpires. I mentioned the list because
- 1:04:15you watched the tennis show that way, you think also tennis, you know,
- 1:04:20watch Breakpoint on Netflix? Good show. But you know, am I
- 1:04:24saying the reason you're watching tennis more now you're saying to me off the edd
- 1:04:27that you're watching the show more than you usually have is because you watched Breakpoint?
- 1:04:29Do you think you think it's rotten often? And I think that's got
- 1:04:30something to do with it, certainly, yes. But I am finding myself
- 1:04:33enjoying the Australian Open very much, to the point where the lovely Luise and
- 1:04:36I and family went up to the Open itself last Friday. I think,
- 1:04:44begin me ruffling. It's my dog Jet just rubbing his face on the floor.
- 1:04:47Will you calm down, your old boy tactile animal. He's really enjoying
- 1:04:53allergies, and he's got a war on his head that's exployed. He's got
- 1:04:56medication four, he's got skin allergies that he's on medication for. He's got
- 1:04:58CT scans on his brain, humors your CT scans in his pancreas. He's
- 1:05:00got arthritis injections. Holy moly, he's fallen apart the old boy. He
- 1:05:04is the very definition of a good boy. We love jet But Yes explained
- 1:05:10that the referees for the for the tennis, yeah, or umpires or whatever.
- 1:05:13I wonder if they're referees or umpires, but it's like, oh,
- 1:05:15yeah, you've got to sort of well literally have your eyes on the ball.
- 1:05:18But I mean, because there's so much dispute about I'm pretty sure that
- 1:05:21was in. I'm pretty sure that was out, and you know, you've
- 1:05:24got ahold of video saying close call and then they'll sort of show where the
- 1:05:27ball actually look like that's not a close call at all. So I don't
- 1:05:30know, I mean, I don't recall any yeah, really egregious umpiring decisions
- 1:05:34or referee decisions that you know, cost someone a victory or whatever. But
- 1:05:39I know I first think, I've got a lot of respect for people who
- 1:05:41are trying to keep the peace on the field or a court or whatever.
- 1:05:45So yeah, shout out to referees and umpires. I've been watching the cricket
- 1:05:49a lot lately. There's been a lot of test games on in Australia and
- 1:05:53because you need you have had trouble sleeping and you need under put your sleep.
- 1:05:56No, no, I love cricket. Ali, it's really good at
- 1:05:58cricket actually, which is cool. But the thing is the umpires now they
- 1:06:02make so many mistakes. I just don't understand what's the point because now they
- 1:06:04just reviewed a decision as like the umpire was in correct reverse and I'm like,
- 1:06:08then what's the fucking point, Like, you know, if we've got
- 1:06:11the technology now to see whether it actually was out or not, then besides
- 1:06:15tradition, what is the actual point of having an umpire. Let's just have
- 1:06:16robot mPire. If you think it was out, okay, they have reviews
- 1:06:20and you can get like three reviews and if you get it wrong, you
- 1:06:23lose a review. That's right, you keep your reviews right, That's where
- 1:06:25it works in cricket. But it's like if it's if we can work up
- 1:06:29it actually was out, let's just do that. If you're going to have
- 1:06:30a human, they have a human there. And just like gold umpires in
- 1:06:34in AFL, like they would say, oh, we're reviewing to see what
- 1:06:36it was touched on, and it's like, what's the point. Yeah,
- 1:06:40just you know, don't have an infrared thing between the gold posts. Like,
- 1:06:43yeah, that definitely went through. Anyway, enough about umpires. Thanks
- 1:06:47Andrew J P. Sorry we didn't answer you a question. And Astley,
- 1:06:50A lot of people refer to Brazilian Ronaldo as Fat Ronaldo or o g Ronaldo
- 1:06:54due to the emergence of Portuguese superstar Christian Christiano Ronaldo Ronaldo. Yeah, what
- 1:07:00is your opinion on the term og? Personally? I hate it. I
- 1:07:02thought it was original great, which would be fine, but apparently it's original
- 1:07:06Gangster. It is indeed, yes, because one of my favorite albums when
- 1:07:10I was a young man was Og Original Gangster by iced T. But no
- 1:07:14OG was a fucking red album. I mean I really loved it. Yeah,
- 1:07:18and that was the first time I heard the term og. Okay,
- 1:07:21and yeah, it's I love how it's sort of become part of the vernacular
- 1:07:26in a lot of ways when you're should not referring to the Offspring's original prankster.
- 1:07:33Actually, that's a line in the in one of the songs on Original
- 1:07:38Gangs because he's making fun of Oprah or something. Then he's still doing an
- 1:07:42Oprah boys saying he's not your everyday tape prankster. It's like, no,
- 1:07:45I'm olg the original gangster. It's like, oh dope, his skinny little
- 1:07:50white guy walking around going yeah, I'm the original gangster. I just remember,
- 1:07:55like the Offspring when I was younger, just felt like they were just
- 1:07:57these white guys trying to be like cool, like that original Presce song.
- 1:08:00He is like, you know what spells like ship? Only like a little
- 1:08:03eight year old way. You're like, yeah, pretty fly for a white
- 1:08:08gum. Yeah, my friend's got a was it? My friend's got a
- 1:08:10job? Note, but why didn't you get a job? It's only that
- 1:08:15something will just go viral for a day and a couple of days ago.
- 1:08:19I saw Harrison Ford trending like three days ago, and my heart stopped for
- 1:08:21us. Oh yeah, I'm almost I'm amost kid. IM gonna wake up.
- 1:08:25And Christal Walkan's going to be dead. It's like, oh man,
- 1:08:28I mean you wake them sometimes, like what Raylely would have died what not.
- 1:08:31But you know some of these people are getting older. It's like,
- 1:08:32oh, you know, one day you're gonna wake up Michael Caine did at
- 1:08:35ninety one. Fucking hell. Yeah. That's how I felt when Betty White
- 1:08:39was gone. I was like, oh she nearly got to one hundred and
- 1:08:41ninety nine. Damn Yeah. Anyway, yes, changing, oh yeah.
- 1:08:47So many people putting up the clip for the Alien Anthem cover of Smooth Criminal.
- 1:08:53Why I don't know, because it's like dumb. There was that guy
- 1:08:57in the background. Oh now, yeah, there's the base who's like a
- 1:09:00really heavy set who sort of likes like the lead singer from smash Mouth,
- 1:09:03just one of those he looks like he's from Insane clam Possy Yeah yeah,
- 1:09:05but he's just really getting into it, and they're all into it. It's
- 1:09:09fantastic. And I remember back in the day I thinking, God, this
- 1:09:12is just trashy sort of frat rock or something. It's it's actually a pretty
- 1:09:15kick ass cover. It's a kick ass cover, you know it. It's
- 1:09:18got it. I've got the monkey in there. The sort of a poke
- 1:09:21fun at Michael Jackson's and bubbles and you've got a little kid doing all the
- 1:09:26my in a pro wrestling ring, which is huge at the time. Yeah,
- 1:09:29it was like, oh yeah, that's right, two thousand and one,
- 1:09:32you know, September eleven, not would stand make the bad touches.
- 1:09:34I believe Blood Hand Gang. Yeah, Oh my gosh, yeah lot.
- 1:09:41I've said this so many times, but my theory still stands up. It's,
- 1:09:45you know, the Bellock theory of like you take something worthless, you
- 1:09:46bury it in the sand for a while, you dig it up and it's
- 1:09:48like, now it's priceless. Yeah yeah, Blood Hand Gang and Italian Farmer
- 1:09:51now the ship. My kids now love. Speaking of covers, their favorite
- 1:09:56song at the moment is hey Bee beadj what a fuck and sing along that
- 1:10:00it's now become a song at the crowd chance at the cricket So I can't
- 1:10:05wait. You want to the Elliot's first cricket match next Friday, one day
- 1:10:09Monday match Australia West Indies, And I can't wait for like eighty thousand people
- 1:10:12singing Hey baby, that's gonna be very very good. Just a couple more
- 1:10:15questions and we'll get out of here. Chris Clark, I know you aren't
- 1:10:18big gamers, but is there any DA game you've played or seen that you
- 1:10:20think really transcends being just a game for kids? For me, that game
- 1:10:24is Portal two. I'll have to find a game for kids. That's a
- 1:10:28good point. I mean what I from what I understand, Red Dead Redemption
- 1:10:30is kind of interesting or GTA is like the game and GTA six have had
- 1:10:35the trailer come out recently, and like that just seems to be the game.
- 1:10:38I honestly call me crazy, Guys, I've never played GTA. I've
- 1:10:43never played it. Oh yeah, that's right. Sorry, I was thinking
- 1:10:45of like, for a second, I was thinking Grand Arisma, which is
- 1:10:47a racing game. GTA is like the one man shoot hookers and stuff.
- 1:10:50Correct now, fun fact, the guy who you apparently buy guns from,
- 1:10:55like like the main store or something you buy guns from voice by Jim Cummings
- 1:11:00for real, because Jim's like nephew. Once he's like, did I spy
- 1:11:02a gun off you? And he's like, I don't think. Somebody's like
- 1:11:03did you voice his character in GT? And he's like maybe, and he
- 1:11:06did? I remember that. Oh boy, what is your favorite Andrew JP
- 1:11:13question? That's from Andrew Swan? Also back up, what is your favorite
- 1:11:17Andrew Swan question? This one? Well, I mean I did give Andrew
- 1:11:24JP a shout out in the in calling for Malbourne submissions, so I think
- 1:11:29he deserved it because he is our He's our main male bag man. Yeah,
- 1:11:31Andrew Swan's our man helping us with the Fortiguuscant discord, which'd been going
- 1:11:34on there daily now. So if you're not following us on discord yet,
- 1:11:36make sure you do so. He can only be part of the main group
- 1:11:39by being a support of ours on Patreon. But but yeah, if you
- 1:11:42become a supporter of ours, you can get the link to the discord and
- 1:11:44you can join us and chat with me and all the other fun patrons on
- 1:11:46there every single day. Devid Mott has ever been an obsession that kept you
- 1:11:49up all night or at least way after you usually got a bed, games,
- 1:11:53movie, TV series anything. It's just the modern binge watch now,
- 1:11:56isn't it very much? So? Yeah, yeah, I think the last
- 1:11:58one for me it was well, watch an entire series one go maybe a
- 1:12:02Stranger Thing season four? Oh yeah, that doesn't sound about it, right.
- 1:12:05Yeah, that's that's the kind of show that's like, oh, just
- 1:12:08one more and then then you look at and go, oh my god,
- 1:12:10this next episode is like two hours long. Yeah. I when I get
- 1:12:13to the end, I was like, I watched this much. Most watched
- 1:12:15the end. I wasn't like a huge family. I was like, it's
- 1:12:16one of those shows where I'm like, I feel like I just have to
- 1:12:18watch it. I always feel like it's one of those shows where it's like
- 1:12:21I keep forgetting how much I do enjoy it. Like there's there's been such
- 1:12:26long gaps between each season, and then you get there it's like that big
- 1:12:29that last gap was too big. Yeah. Yeah, but it's like,
- 1:12:30oh, I keep forgetting that this show. You know, it's oh,
- 1:12:33we're eaties nostalgia and kids and stuff like that, and then you realize I
- 1:12:38don't really go for the gusto. When it comes to the gore and the
- 1:12:40violence, it's like, yeah, good, getting worse and worse, isn't
- 1:12:43it, I mean like as in more violent. Oh yeah. I remember
- 1:12:45watching season three and thinking, oh, this is gruesome. Yeah, the
- 1:12:48season four is even the next level. Yeah. Brian Hughes who was the
- 1:12:51who's been the worst celebrity guest star ever? And why is it Ronaldo?
- 1:12:56That's not correct, Brian, Can I remind you that we had Andy Dick
- 1:13:00a couple of weeks ago. Yes, that's true. It doesn't matter what
- 1:13:02the fucker said. Him being on the show was just confusing at best.
- 1:13:06Yeah, that's the best way to put it. Why why was he there?
- 1:13:12Why was he there? So weird? Josh Hallie Hamilton says, obviously,
- 1:13:15I know you guys follow football, but do you also follow normal football?
- 1:13:18Soccer and doesn't have much of a presence in Australia. It's getting better,
- 1:13:21doesn't have a huge presence. I feel when the World Cups are on,
- 1:13:26it's huge. Everyone's talking about it, but it's one of those things
- 1:13:28where it's like the hot it's not the hot thing at the time, but
- 1:13:30it doesn't have really sort of like it's growing. If you follow it,
- 1:13:32I'm sure you feel like it's growing, but it's nowhere near on the level
- 1:13:35of Australian In Australia, it is gaining ground, yeah, I mean,
- 1:13:40as we mentioned, the Matilla's certainly did a lot for it. Yeah,
- 1:13:43but there is a team in Queen's Park Rangers. They have a similar uniform
- 1:13:47to Geelong. They have like QBR light blue instead of dark blue. So
- 1:13:50my uncle follows QPR. That's what we've got formed. For Christmas, we
- 1:13:53got him a personalized QPR moreover in England our top and brought it back from
- 1:13:57his Christmas present. But yeah, QPR, I guess I guess they're my

- 1:14:01the mail bank. Don't forget Simpson's Mailbak at gmail dot com. This has
- 1:14:03been our review of March Gamer. The next season eighteen episode we shall be
- 1:14:06reviewing here on the show will be The Boys of Bummer. Now. I
- 1:14:11remember this episode when I rewatched it a couple of weeks ago, being quite
- 1:14:15just me mean spirited for the sake of being mean spirited, which I'd never
- 1:14:17like. You know, Bart ruins a sporting game and the town hates him
- 1:14:21for it. It's a take on how we when someone's playing well, we
- 1:14:25love them as soon as they make one mistake. It's like you're a West
- 1:14:27person in the world, which we can probably relate to you in Australia because
- 1:14:29we do love that sport. And we do. We build these athletes up
- 1:14:31like their heroes, but the second I make a mistake, they're just the
- 1:14:33West person ever. But anyway, the Boys bum will be the next season
- 1:14:36eighteen episode. Don't forget we're going to be doing We've got plenty of coming
- 1:14:40guests like Tom Debatoure, which is gonna be a really interesting chat, don't
- 1:14:42you think I reckon so absolutely, he's gonna want to talk to you about
- 1:14:45your dad therapy ses. All right, guys, think again a free suport.
