- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on. Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody
- 0:06Speaker 1: you are listening to the voice, Come on, dig me now,
- 0:09Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Man,
- 0:13Speaker 1: oh man, oh man, God being good to me. Man.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I can't explain it all really, Hey, you know, I
- 0:21Speaker 1: want I want to remind everybody of something that I
- 0:23Speaker 1: need reminding of myself all the time. And I'm I'm
- 0:29Speaker 1: I'm dealing with a couple of things now and I
- 0:31Speaker 1: had to remind myself. Uh, you know what I have
- 0:34Speaker 1: to remember. I have to constantly remind myself to stay
- 0:38Speaker 1: in constant communication with God. Constant communication with God. You know. Uh,
- 0:45Speaker 1: sometimes you know, I have a tendency and maybe we
- 0:48Speaker 1: do all this people I don't know, but I know
- 0:50Speaker 1: for me that when it's going okay, I slack up
- 0:55Speaker 1: in sometimes having conversations with him because I'm not coming
- 0:59Speaker 1: to him on the day with something that's pressing or something,
- 1:02Speaker 1: and I find myself slacking up in the communication. The
- 1:07Speaker 1: danger I have learned in that is this, I think,
- 1:12Speaker 1: you know. I mean, we've all heard old people say,
- 1:14Speaker 1: you know, you got to stay prayed up, you know,
- 1:17Speaker 1: and you know prayed up means you know, you got
- 1:21Speaker 1: some stowed up, You just got an abundance of them
- 1:24Speaker 1: where you're putting it in. Because what happens is is
- 1:28Speaker 1: when you're not in constant communication with God, when you're
- 1:31Speaker 1: not constantly praying, doing those good times, that allows for
- 1:37Speaker 1: the enemy to slip in and do the little things
- 1:41Speaker 1: that can be upsetting. And then the next thing, you
- 1:43Speaker 1: know what, you get several little things in a row.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Now you got an issue you're dealing with. You know,
- 1:50Speaker 1: I have to remind myself when it's going like that, Man,
- 1:53Speaker 1: have I really been praying though? Have I really been
- 1:56Speaker 1: in constant communication with God? Because you know, that helps
- 2:00Speaker 1: God against that little bitty stuff coming in. Sometimes it's
- 2:05Speaker 1: big stuff, sometimes it's major stuff. But I've noticed, man,
- 2:08Speaker 1: that when I get on a more of a smooth
- 2:11Speaker 1: plane in life, I have a tendency to slack up
- 2:14Speaker 1: in that department. And that ain't the time to slack up.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I'm really learning that I have to stay in constant
- 2:22Speaker 1: communication with God because it enables me to ward off
- 2:27Speaker 1: those little things coming up that can get in the way.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And so I just wanted to make you aware of
- 2:34Speaker 1: that as I'm learning it myself, that staying prayed up.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Is important that you try to stop prayers, you know,
- 2:41Speaker 1: you try to you know, have some prayers in the bank,
- 2:44Speaker 1: so to speak, and just constant communication with him, because
- 2:48Speaker 1: it'll just safeguard you against a lot of stuff back
- 2:51Speaker 1: doing you. You know, I just wanted to make sure
- 2:53Speaker 1: you understood that because on your journey, it's gonna be
- 2:57Speaker 1: many obstacles. I've said this one hundred times on the show.
- 3:01Speaker 1: The road to success is always under construction. I say
- 3:04Speaker 1: that all the time, and it's to let you understand
- 3:07Speaker 1: that it's not going to be easy, but we can
- 3:12Speaker 1: make it more difficult than it has to be, you know,
- 3:16Speaker 1: when you go out, strike out on the journey. You know,
- 3:20Speaker 1: let's say I got in my car. Let's say I'm
- 3:22Speaker 1: in New York and I get in my car and
- 3:26Speaker 1: I say I'm going to LA. I know, if I
- 3:29Speaker 1: drive west and continue to drive west, eventually I should
- 3:36Speaker 1: get to California, or I may wind up in Portland
- 3:40Speaker 1: or Seattle or something like that. But if I drive west,
- 3:44Speaker 1: I'm going to eventually get to the West Coast. Now
- 3:50Speaker 1: wouldn't it be smarter though? If I mapped out the
- 3:55Speaker 1: route which saved me a bunch of driving I don't
- 4:00Speaker 1: need and figuring that I don't have to calculate when
- 4:04Speaker 1: you know the way to go. You know, if you
- 4:08Speaker 1: know you want to cut cross on the twenty, or
- 4:13Speaker 1: you want to cut cross on the seventy, or you
- 4:16Speaker 1: want to cut cross on the tin, you know you
- 4:21Speaker 1: got to devise a route. Now, if I want to
- 4:22Speaker 1: go visit some people I know, then I know I
- 4:25Speaker 1: got to I need to go down. You know, I
- 4:27Speaker 1: might go through Ohio, come down on the eighty, then
- 4:30Speaker 1: get on seventy one and take that all the way
- 4:33Speaker 1: down to the ten and then ride across. So I
- 4:35Speaker 1: might take it to the twenty, cut through Texas and
- 4:38Speaker 1: then and then let it link back up on the ten.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I know a lot of different ways, but guess what
- 4:44Speaker 1: the best way is to map it out. You can
- 4:47Speaker 1: go anywhere, but if you go with a map, it's
- 4:51Speaker 1: more precise. You save yourself a lot of time. And
- 4:54Speaker 1: that's what prayer has taught me that when I will
- 4:58Speaker 1: entify continuously p that I stay in the in the
- 5:02Speaker 1: in the in the I stay in the prepared mode,
- 5:04Speaker 1: I have more idea of where I'm going. I'm more
- 5:07Speaker 1: secure with my route. If you just take off driving
- 5:11Speaker 1: heading west. Yeah, you'll eventually get to the west coast
- 5:14Speaker 1: if you out east. But guess what though, had you
- 5:17Speaker 1: mapped it out, you can see when you veering off,
- 5:21Speaker 1: you may stop, come out and not be paying attention.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Next thing, you know, you're on a route and you
- 5:26Speaker 1: go on another way. You're going north when you could
- 5:28Speaker 1: easily still be going west. You've got to constantly be
- 5:31Speaker 1: aware of that. And I'm just pointing that out to
- 5:32Speaker 1: you because I know that on your journey a lot
- 5:35Speaker 1: of times you get sidetracked. And part of the ways
- 5:39Speaker 1: we get sidetracked is we lose out on that very
- 5:43Speaker 1: the very beneficial resource of prayer. We lose out with
- 5:47Speaker 1: our connection with God gets strained. The thicker you can
- 5:52Speaker 1: keep the cord connected to God if you thin out
- 5:56Speaker 1: your communication with God. And instead of having a big cable,
- 6:00Speaker 1: now you're dealing with a little thread. You know, a
- 6:03Speaker 1: cable is stronger than thread, and so it just decreases
- 6:09Speaker 1: your opportunity. And so you know, I wanted to just
- 6:12Speaker 1: make you aware of that, and you know, to ever
- 6:15Speaker 1: be encouraging to say to everybody out there and just
- 6:18Speaker 1: keep your head up. It is going to be dark
- 6:20Speaker 1: days for you. There are going to be situations where
- 6:23Speaker 1: it's going to be daunting and hard to face. But
- 6:27Speaker 1: man o, man oh man, everybody has to face these challenges.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Everybody get dark sometimes. You know, Look, if you didn't lose,
- 6:37Speaker 1: if you didn't lose, you wouldn't even appreciate winning because
- 6:42Speaker 1: if it all went your weight all the time. Do
- 6:45Speaker 1: you know how complacent and content and how easy life
- 6:50Speaker 1: would be if it just went your way all the time.
- 6:54Speaker 1: So when it kept going your way, you wouldn't even
- 6:56Speaker 1: appreciate it because guess what, it's been going this way
- 6:58Speaker 1: the whole time. So what life does is it has
- 7:02Speaker 1: its checks and balances. These hard times are coming, and
- 7:06Speaker 1: you need the hard times to appreciate the good times.
- 7:09Speaker 1: You need the clouds and you need the rain to
- 7:13Speaker 1: appreciate the sun and the flowers. It's just when it
- 7:17Speaker 1: comes to prayer, though, just stay prayed up, stay constant
- 7:23Speaker 1: with it, because the challenges of life are coming, whether
- 7:27Speaker 1: you prayed up or not, they're coming. Understand that you
- 7:31Speaker 1: could pray every day all day. When you get through
- 7:33Speaker 1: praying every day all day, something's gonna happen to you
- 7:36Speaker 1: that's gonna be challenging. Now, I would rather have been
- 7:40Speaker 1: in communication with God on a regular than wait till
- 7:44Speaker 1: every time something pop off to have to go to
- 7:46Speaker 1: and reintroduce myself. Okay, it was over a little around
- 7:51Speaker 1: the board with it today, but that's how it came
- 7:54Speaker 1: to me, so that is I ain't mad at it.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Y'all have a great day. We're gonna have a good
- 7:57Speaker 1: one the day. Let's go deep. Harvey Morning Show
