- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on you.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Uh huh, I sure will.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Good morning everybody you'll listening to the voice, Come on
- 0:08Speaker 1: dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a
- 0:12Speaker 1: radio show.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Man oh man, oh man, God being good to me. Man.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I can't explain it all really, Hey, you know, I
- 0:21Speaker 1: want I want to remind everybody of something that I
- 0:23Speaker 1: need reminding of myself all the time. And I'm I'm
- 0:29Speaker 1: I'm dealing with a couple of things now and I
- 0:31Speaker 1: had to remind myself.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Uh, you know what I have to remember.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I have to constantly remind myself to stay in constant
- 0:39Speaker 1: communication with God. Constant communication with God, you know. Uh
- 0:45Speaker 1: sometimes you know, I have a tendency and maybe we
- 0:48Speaker 1: do all the people. I don't know, but I know
- 0:50Speaker 1: for me that when it's going okay, I slack up
- 0:55Speaker 1: in sometimes having conversations with him because I'm not coming
- 0:59Speaker 1: to him on the day with something that's pressing or something,
- 1:02Speaker 1: and I find myself slacking up in the communication.
- 1:06Speaker 2: The danger I have learned in that is this, I think,
- 1:12Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I mean, we've all heard old people say, you know,
- 1:14Speaker 1: you got to stay prayed up, you know, and you
- 1:18Speaker 1: know prayed up means you know, you got some stored up,
- 1:22Speaker 1: You just got an abundance of them where you're putting
- 1:25Speaker 1: it in. Because what happens is is when you're not
- 1:28Speaker 1: in constant communication with God, when you're not constantly praying,
- 1:33Speaker 1: doing those good times, that allows for the enemy to
- 1:38Speaker 1: slip in and do the little things that can be upsetting.
- 1:42Speaker 2: And then the.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Next thing, you know what, you get several little things
- 1:45Speaker 1: in a row. Now you got an issue you're dealing with.
- 1:49Speaker 1: You know, I have to remind myself when it's going
- 1:52Speaker 1: like that, Man, have I really been praying though? Have
- 1:55Speaker 1: I really been in constant communication with God? Because you know,
- 1:59Speaker 1: that helps God against that little bitty stuff coming in.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Sometimes it's big stuff, sometimes it's major stuff. But I've noticed, man,
- 2:08Speaker 1: that when I get on a more of a smooth
- 2:11Speaker 1: plane in life, I have a tendency to slack up
- 2:14Speaker 1: in that department. And that ain't the time to slack up.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I'm really learning that I have to stay in constant
- 2:22Speaker 1: communication with God because it enables me to ward off
- 2:27Speaker 1: those little things coming up that can get in the way.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And so I just wanted to make you aware of
- 2:34Speaker 1: that as I'm learning it myself, that staying prayed up.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Is important that you try to stop prayers, you know,
- 2:41Speaker 1: you try to you know, have some prayers in the bank,
- 2:44Speaker 1: so to speak, and just constant communication with him, because
- 2:48Speaker 1: it'll just safeguard you against a lot of stuff back
- 2:51Speaker 1: doing you. You know, I just wanted to make sure
- 2:53Speaker 1: you understood that because on your journey, it's gonna be
- 2:56Speaker 1: many obstacles. I've said this one hundred times on the show.
- 3:00Speaker 1: The road to success is always under construction. I say
- 3:04Speaker 1: that all the time, and it's to let you understand
- 3:07Speaker 1: that it's not going to be easy, but we can
- 3:11Speaker 1: make it more difficult than it has to be, you know,
- 3:16Speaker 1: when you go out strike out on the journey. You know,
- 3:20Speaker 1: let's say I got in my car. Let's say I'm
- 3:22Speaker 1: in New York and I get in my car and
- 3:25Speaker 1: I say I'm going to LA.
- 3:28Speaker 2: I know, if I drive west and continue to drive.
- 3:32Speaker 1: West, eventually I should get to California, or I may
- 3:38Speaker 1: wind up in Portland or Seattle or something like that.
- 3:42Speaker 1: But if I drive west, I'm going to eventually get
- 3:46Speaker 1: to the West Coast. Now wouldn't it be smarter though?
- 3:53Speaker 1: If I mapped out the route which saved me a
- 3:59Speaker 1: bunch of driving. I don't need and figuring that I
- 4:02Speaker 1: don't have to calculate when you know the way to go.
- 4:07Speaker 2: You know, if you know.
- 4:09Speaker 1: You want to cut cross on the twenty, or you
- 4:13Speaker 1: want to cut cross on the seventy, or you want
- 4:16Speaker 1: to cut cross on the Tin, you know you got
- 4:21Speaker 1: to devise a route. Now, if I want to go
- 4:23Speaker 1: visit some people I know, then I know I got
- 4:25Speaker 1: to I need to go down. You know, I might
- 4:27Speaker 1: go through Ohio, come down on the eighty, then get
- 4:30Speaker 1: on seventy one and take that all the way down
- 4:33Speaker 1: to the Tin and then ride across. Or I might
- 4:35Speaker 1: take it to the twenty, cut through Texas and then
- 4:38Speaker 1: and then let it link back up on the ten.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I know a lot of different ways, but guess what
- 4:44Speaker 1: the best way is to map it out. You can
- 4:47Speaker 1: go anywhere, but if you go with a map, it's
- 4:51Speaker 1: more precise.
- 4:52Speaker 2: You save yourself a lot of time.
- 4:54Speaker 1: And that's what prayer has taught me that when I
- 4:57Speaker 1: will deentify continuously, prayer that I stay in the in
- 5:01Speaker 1: the in the I stay in a prepared mode. I
- 5:04Speaker 1: have more idea of where I'm going. I'm more secure
- 5:08Speaker 1: with my route. If you just take off driving heading west. Yeah,
- 5:12Speaker 1: you'll eventually get to the west coast if you out east.
- 5:15Speaker 1: But guess what though, had you mapped it out, you
- 5:19Speaker 1: can see when you veering off, you may stop, come
- 5:22Speaker 1: out and not be paying attention. Next thing, you know,
- 5:25Speaker 1: you're on a route and you go on another way.
- 5:27Speaker 1: You're going north when you could easily still be going west.
- 5:30Speaker 1: You've got to constantly be aware of that. And I'm
- 5:32Speaker 1: just pointing that out to you because I know that
- 5:34Speaker 1: on your journey a lot of times you get sidetracked.
- 5:38Speaker 1: And part of the ways we get sidetracked is we
- 5:40Speaker 1: lose out on that very the very beneficial resource of prayer.
- 5:46Speaker 1: We lose out with our connection with God gets strained.
- 5:50Speaker 1: The thicker you can keep the cord connected to God.
- 5:55Speaker 2: If you thin out your communication with God.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And instead of having a big thing cable, now you're
- 6:01Speaker 1: dealing with a little thread. You know, a cable is
- 6:04Speaker 1: stronger than thread, and so it just decreases your opportunity.
- 6:10Speaker 1: And so you know, I wanted to just make you
- 6:13Speaker 1: aware of that, and you know, to ever be encouraging
- 6:16Speaker 1: to say to everybody out there and just keep your
- 6:18Speaker 1: head up. It is going to be dark days for you.
- 6:21Speaker 1: There are going to be situations where it's going to
- 6:24Speaker 1: be daunting and hard to face. But man o, man,
- 6:28Speaker 1: oh man, everybody has to face these challenges.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Everybody get dark sometimes.
- 6:33Speaker 1: You know, Look, if you didn't lose, if you didn't lose,
- 6:39Speaker 1: you wouldn't even appreciate winning.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Because if it all went your weight all the time.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Do you know how complacent and content and how easy
- 6:50Speaker 1: life would be if it just went your way all
- 6:52Speaker 1: the time. So when it kept going your way, you
- 6:55Speaker 1: wouldn't even appreciate it because guess what, it's been going
- 6:58Speaker 1: this way the whole time. So what life does is
- 7:01Speaker 1: it has its checks and balances. These hard times are coming,
- 7:05Speaker 1: and you need the hard times to appreciate the good times.
- 7:09Speaker 1: You need the clouds and you need the rain to
- 7:13Speaker 1: appreciate the sun and the flowers. It's just when it
- 7:17Speaker 1: comes to prayer, though, just stay prayed up, stay constant
- 7:23Speaker 1: with it, because the challenges of life are coming, whether
- 7:26Speaker 1: you pray it up or not, they're coming. Understand that
- 7:31Speaker 1: you could pray every day all day. When you get
- 7:33Speaker 1: through praying every day all day, something gonna happen to
- 7:36Speaker 1: you that's gonna be challenging. Now, I would rather have
- 7:40Speaker 1: been in communication with God on a regular than wait
- 7:43Speaker 1: till every time something pop off to have to go
- 7:46Speaker 1: to and reintroduce myself. Okay, it was over a little
- 7:51Speaker 1: around the board with it today, but that's how it
- 7:53Speaker 1: came to me, so that is I ain't mad at it.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Y'all have a great day. We're gonna have a good
- 7:57Speaker 2: one to day. Let's go. Eve Harvey Morning Show
