- 0:00[Music] welcome to multiple
- 0:02nerdgasm your destination for all things nerdy
- 0:09recording oh the most in sync we've ever been I love that band so are we
- 0:15introducing or just going to go back to our conversation we're having well
- 0:20welcome to multiple nerdgasm um this is episode
- 0:23102 and um I realized this week we we asked everybody if you've listened to
- 0:30all 100 episodes or if you if you've been listening from the beginning we
- 0:33wanted you to write in and let us know and we'd say thank you on the show but
- 0:37then I realized that um we released the show on Mondays and we also record the
- 0:42show on Monday evenings so we haven't really given them a chance is what
- 0:46you're saying what what I'm saying is yeah in between now and when we asked
- 0:50there is another episode which came out so even if people listen and then ride
- 0:56in chances are we haven't seen it yet and yeah so yeah if we say we're going
- 1:00to do something on the next episode you can assume we don't mean the next
- 1:04episode we mean the episode after because there's a week in between if
- 1:07that Mak sense like if we ask the listeners to do something they can't do
- 1:12it for a week because they haven't heard us say it well let's even put it like
- 1:15this we're recording this on the 2nd this you will be listening to this on
- 1:19the 9th that's right so if I say I'm going to do something in response to a
- 1:22listener participation thing in the next episode I can't because you won't have
- 1:28heard it yet does that make well I've heard it that's true I mean they could
- 1:33have heard it I listened to it this morning well we did say that we would
- 1:37thank the people who who wrote in and I do want to do that so um I've got uh
- 1:42four people here who I'd like to thank I do a I think that's everybody who
- 1:46contacted us I don't know that anybody else um wrote in and said that they um
- 1:51been listening if you have heard all of them you didn't bother writing in shame
- 1:53on you or if you did write in and we missed it let us know and we'll thank
- 1:57you in another two weeks give us call
- 2:02on4 and um yeah just just yell abuse
- 2:06when you call so that we know it's you
- 2:09um so Carol from Sydney wait a minute whoa whoa whoa whoa did you say Carol
- 2:15from Sydney yep I mean there might be more than one Carol from Sydney out
- 2:20there but I do seem to recall us Banning Carol from Sydney from listening to this
- 2:25show so if she says she's listened to every episode I certainly hope that's
- 2:30not true no I doubt anyone would have the audacity to go against your direct
- 2:35instructions Dan so I hope not to well um you know in that case uh welcome new
- 2:42Carol from a different Sydney yeah we uh we're glad you like the show and I hope
- 2:47that you'll respect our wishes unlike
- 2:50some other carols yeah so Carol from
- 2:54Sydney um Simon Phil and Darcy thank you for writing in and thank you for
- 3:00listening um not everybody uh they haven't all listened from the beginning
- 3:04I don't know if there's anyone who actually listened to episode one and
- 3:06then continued all the way through to now like as in from the beginning it
- 3:09would be strange if somebody listened to episode one and then wanted to hear
- 3:13episode two I agree and I mean it's a different Carol from Sydney but had the
- 3:18the original Carol from Sydney been allowed to continue listening maybe she
- 3:22would have been one of those people possible but yeah if you actually have
- 3:26listened from episode one um to now in order like as they came
- 3:31out without going back you mean yeah yeah exactly discovering in episode 50
- 3:36and then going back if you've been with us the whole time we'd love to hear that
- 3:40too don't get me wrong if you've just heard them all we'd love to hear that as
- 3:42well yeah yeah not this is your first episode ride in tell us where you don't
- 3:46like our podcast I mean if you started in like the 70s and went back to number
- 3:50one and listen through like I got even more in the 70s where we all had flares
- 3:53on I'm amazed and and grateful so I'm not not to belittle that that
- 3:58achievement H I'm also amazed that you if you did start at 70 then went back to
- 4:03episode 1 and then managed to make it back to 70 I'd be amazed I'm trying with
- 4:08a podcast at the moment but the new updated podcast app on the iPhone
- 4:13doesn't tell you when you've listened to something if you stream it so because I
- 4:18was too dumb to work that out initially and write down what episode I was up to
- 4:22every night when I go to listen to the next one I go [ __ ] was I up to 108 or was it
- 4:28208 like like it's infuriating tell me what [ __ ] podcasts I've listened to
- 4:33iTunes don't go back and take out stuff you used to have that's a big one to
- 4:39take out oh they've taken out bigger ones they've taken out being able to go
- 4:45anyway no I'm not going to go on a rant everyone knows how much I hate [ __ ]
- 4:48iTunes and every little Branch off of iTunes the podcast
- 4:55app I'm not going to do it I'm not going to put you all through it got
- 5:02is so yes to those of you um who have listened thank you very much um and the
- 5:07four we mentioned very special thank you for writing in um and I'm pretty sure I
- 5:12can think of people um who've listened to all of them who didn't write in for
- 5:16some reason that's you know that's fine well it's fine and it's not fine um well
- 5:21it may just be that they're a little bit behind in their poast listening yeah I
- 5:24guess we can forgive them for that but if you have listened to them and you've
- 5:28heard us asked to write in and you haven't written in well you're just a [ __ ]
- 5:35witht yeah this was your chance deliberately gone against wishes then
- 5:41well I mean there's nothing else we can say other than what do you want as well
- 5:44just stop listening to this
- 5:48podcast well um shall we yeah news is
- 5:54that um I've now played 55 hours of Civ 5 this week um
- 6:01when you give it a week week and a bit ago uh yeah but it yeah yes so we
- 6:07discussed it last week on the show and well I was up I was up to 30 hours last
- 6:10week so but I've added a further 25 hours this week yeah right okay in a
- 6:15week yeah wow I'm uh playing as the
- 6:18French right now focusing on um
- 6:23diplomacy trying to get my science
- 6:28up and enjoying it
- 6:31cool yeah awesome it is a great game I
- 6:35um I actually after hearing you talk about it last week I I kind of wanted to
- 6:40go back and play Civ 5 instead of the um
- 6:43expans the new one um beyond Earth yeah um but I spent a lot of money
- 6:50on game the beyond Earth it is yeah it's quite different like um I
- 6:56mean it's it's not is it the differences you're in space no well yes and you're
- 7:03on a on a different like you're on a planet different planet to Earth and and
- 7:07but and you're trapped with Christ and Stewart yeah yeah but the whole technology tree
- 7:13is different because it's based in the future right and sure um the whole story
- 7:17line is different like instead of the story of Earth it's the story of um all
- 7:21the nations of Earth that were left as the Earth disintegrated um each sent up
- 7:27a ship to colonize the planets and so you've got uh I don't can't remember how
- 7:30many but there's a number of these different ships and they all represent
- 7:34different countries and beliefs and stuff I mean Dare I ask Matt but did did
- 7:41we survive are there up there oh right okay let's not make this a race thing M
- 7:48I just mean people from our neighborhood right um are they representing Western
- 7:52Sydney up there is what I'm asking yeah I don't think they are I'll be honest I
- 7:56haven't encountered a race race would surprised if we were the go I haven't
- 8:00encountered a civilization that struck me as particularly
- 8:04Australian shame so H it's American companies always do Aussie so well Civ 5
- 8:10doesn't have Australia in it either not as I mean as a continent it does yeah
- 8:16yeah but not as a as a but not as a civil Empire yeah I don't really know if
- 8:22we have an Australian Empire we tried we tried to make one I think in um the
- 8:27Steam Workshop you can get add-ons which Australia and and things like that but
- 8:33yeah I'm pretty sure you can add all sorts of weird [ __ ] soers in a cubra
- 8:36hats yeah yeah um actually that that could be a segment actually we go
- 8:41through all the various Steam Workshop files for different games and see what
- 8:45[ __ ] weird [ __ ] people have made I
- 8:47want to um uh I want to mod Skyrim I I was looking at my steam library for some
- 8:54reason the other day and I clicked on Skyrim and I was like oh man I really
- 8:56want to play some more Skyrim and then it pops you know pops up and shows you
- 8:59the the workshop stuff and uh man there so much stuff in there what is there
- 9:04well like you get Customs like new cities new really new armor new weapons
- 9:10like you can customize the the armor and like the way people look and everything
- 9:14like cuz can I can I customize it so that everybody in Skyrim is a hidic Jew
- 9:21probably because if there is that I'm doing it and I'm playing through Skyrim
- 9:24again from the start all right you could probably do something like that there's dragon
- 9:31there are some um we can't afford to pay you but could you possibly fight the dragons for
- 9:37us there's um some practical mods on there I noticed like uh one of the top
- 9:43ones is you know you get those stones the floating stones in Skyrim the the
- 9:48bit they're all bits of a big stone that have been shattered or something um it
- 9:52adds Quest markers for those so you so yeah so you can actually find yeah
- 9:57because it's I mean by accient pretty [ __ ] difficult without it yeah yeah
- 10:02like cuz that world is is enormous so so good yeah so um there's that and then
- 10:09yeah like you can add like there's one that was like a treehouse a hermit's
- 10:11treehouse you can add and yeah um yes so the work amazing what people can do with
- 10:18these games these days I know um like I I I know that back when people were
- 10:24modding quake and and all that um I feel like it it was sort of they
- 10:30weren't given the tools back then they had to create the tools you know whereas
- 10:34and they came up with some great stuff but now like the the smart game
- 10:39developers like um Bethesda with the Elder Scroll stuff they just give you
- 10:42the tools and so like people just make all this cool crazy [ __ ] like I do
- 10:46remember when Dave was [ __ ] around with quake and I was over and playing it
- 10:50and when every time you killed someone they went no piss
- 10:56off yeah people made like uh Simpson total conversions of Doom and and the
- 11:01alien um Doom was alien Doom or Quake uh they would know [ __ ] I remember Quake
- 11:08rally I used to love that game Quake rally yeah like a racing game it was a
- 11:13racing game in quake in the Quake world yes wow see that's that's just amazing
- 11:20that someone managed to do that I tried to build my school with the level edit
- 11:25in uh or our school I should say Luke with the level edit in um 3D cuz it was
- 11:30a bit more sophisticated in its uh or I should say it was just bit more user
- 11:34friendly and you didn't know how to didn't need to know how to do anything
- 11:38to uh right you just made a shape and clicked on
- 11:45Textures and so I made our school how was
- 11:48it uh well the scope of it was
- 11:52limited uh and you couldn't go upstairs onto levels above where you'd just been
- 11:59y you kind of had to teleport into different places so I ended up just
- 12:03making the quad as like an outdoor Arena you know with the gym on one side
- 12:09and the classrooms on the other side and the office at one end so you just be
- 12:13sort of an open area with buildings around it correct y yeah what do you
- 12:19want from me I want a mod I'm not going to give you a mod all
- 12:25right fine it's the best I could [ __ ] do I'm not a programmer all right fine [Music]
- 12:31um in disturbing news um a California highway
- 12:38patrolman um after pulling over a woman
- 12:42on suspicion of DUI she was detained um
- 12:46briefly arrested is as is the wording um
- 12:50on suspicion of DUI uh in late August
- 12:532014 in California um and I assume she was taken to the station um whereupon
- 13:00one of the officers asked her for her phone which is an iPhone and then asked
- 13:05for undisclosed reasons asked for the passcode for the phone which she gave
- 13:09yeah that's that's the part that I find a bit weird because it's fair enough
- 13:13that they want to confiscate your phone but why do they need to go through your
- 13:17[ __ ] if what they've pulled you over for is a DUI well I mean I I don't think
- 13:22he's really explained why and and I mean it doesn't really say why she gave them
- 13:26the passcode either I assumed she was just trying to be compliant well because
- 13:30she was cooperating with the police I yeah yeah so anyway it turns she found
- 13:34out later after she had received her phone back that after she'd been
- 13:38released and everything that um presumably they had gone through the
- 13:42phone um and found some photos of her topless and in her underwear and um
- 13:47being a genius the police officer in question had just messaged them to
- 13:52himself he just texted himself with them
- 13:56so uh genius
- 14:00so yeah she came forward uh and he's understandably pressing charges and um I
- 14:06think he's resigned now and he's
- 14:10apologized rightly so um it's got here it looks like someone went to get a
- 14:15statement from the where he works and they've gone we've got no comment as he
- 14:21no longer works with us yeah right yeah uh yeah you're [ __ ] up buddy but what
- 14:27oh man what like well he received 180 days suspended sentence 3 years of
- 14:33felony probation and must speak at a community violence situations class and
- 14:38tell everybody what he did I assume that's one sentence as in
- 14:43he's tells everybody at the class not he must speak at the community violation
- 14:47situation class comma and tell everyone what he did yeah yeah I at some point
- 14:53he'll be telling us yeah y yeah I like how she Jane do says she
- 14:58never never gave him permission to access the photos in her phone and she
- 15:01never gave him permission to send nude photographs of herself to his phone of
- 15:05course she didn't no so
- 15:09yeah um so yeah let this be a lesson to any um any officers out there listening
- 15:14um delete the evidence yeah or just plug it into the computer and copy them off
- 15:18that way [ __ ] sake sign in just email it to yourself and then log out of your
- 15:23account yep yep yeah yep Luke's done
- 15:27this before um or I mean if you're going to text them to yourself delete the text
- 15:32message afterwards yeah many ways to not get caught doing this I mean come on
- 15:37you're a police officer AR you well not anymore just Bluetooth them to yourself
- 15:42yeah yeah I mean there's no there's no paper trail for Bluetooth yeah I just
- 15:48don't I don't know how he thought that he was not going to get
- 15:51caught yeah it's very very strange anyway can you air drop something
- 15:57anonymously uh um You probably can now one iPhone to the next yeah maybe I
- 16:02don't know I don't know if it keeps I don't have an iPhone anymore I don't
- 16:04know if it keeps a history but I mean you can delete text messages though yeah
- 16:09like yeah yeah that's right very very just sloppy do know if it goes in
- 16:15details but what did she see in her found that the messages were sent then
- 16:18call the number and go yeah yeah she called the number he didn't answer but
- 16:21then she followed it up um and uh here we go 5 days later according to the
- 16:26warrant she looked at her iPad at home and saw on the messages app that six
- 16:31photographs had been sent to a to a 707 area code phone number that she did not
- 16:36recognize those photos showed her in various states of undress uh and
- 16:40included topless shots and others in which she wore a bikini or underwear two
- 16:43of the photos included a female friend engaged in similar
- 16:47poses wow so yeah you know what maybe we
- 16:51have to cut this guy a little
- 16:54break I mean I wonder if if some phone you've arrested she's standing over
- 17:00there in handcuffs you're gone oh look I'll just me to make sure that there's
- 17:04no uh extenuating circumstances here and then uh then you see this pictures not
- 17:10only of her toplet but little bit of lesbian action
- 17:15too yeah I me he not a human that might come as Luke said delete the [ __ ]
- 17:21text well see I wonder now because um she says that in her on her iPad in the
- 17:26messages app um she it not on the phone so I'm wondering if you know because he
- 17:32did it synchronizes and everything yeah he's deleted it from the phone not
- 17:35realizing that it's all than Cloud now and uh it wasn't deleted from from the
- 17:39cloud so this is where you log into your email forward the pictures to yourself
- 17:44then log out of your email problem solved she can't then log into your
- 17:47email this is why we have Luke on the show yeah that's right he's a
- 17:51professional explaining how to commit sex crimes in startling detail
- 17:57yeah n name um oh I just I've just read the
- 18:03next the next article and I need to know more you want to hear about the
- 18:07terrorists from middlee
- 18:10yes right so um a kid has been suspended
- 18:15a 9-year-old kid from elementary school
- 18:19in Texas home of the intellectually
- 18:22Superior um for bringing the one ring to class yep
- 18:29uh what do you mean by the One Ring well he had uh a little replica ring of uh
- 18:35the one ring from The Lord of the Rings oh yeah okay um you know the the gold
- 18:41ring with the uh Elven writing yeah engraved yeah yeah it's a magical ring
- 18:45isn't it yeah magical ring well that's precisely the problem Matt um oh when I
- 18:50first read the headline I thought perhaps the school mistook Elven for
- 18:55Arabic and you know wasn't sure what was going on there but it's even dopier than
- 19:01that um he came to school with the ring on because he saw The Hobbit over the
- 19:06weekend yeah uh how how do they know he was there well how did they even know he was
- 19:12there you raise a valid point Matt because um when a kid puts on a ring and
- 19:18pretends to be a hobbit yeah he also pretends to be invisible yeah you would
- 19:22know and he tells other kids yeah exactly right tells other kids that he's
- 19:25got a ring that makes him invisible and that he could make them invisible too
- 19:29and have special powers the type of [ __ ] that 9-year-olds say yeah yeah yeah and
- 19:34so he was suspended uh for um threatening other
- 19:40children with his magical
- 19:44powers right um suspended for witchcraft correct um his father threatening
- 19:50witchcraft uh has said this
- 19:54quote this is unbelievable kids act out movies that they see when I watched
- 20:00Superman as a kid I went outside and tried to fly I assure you my son lacks
- 20:05the magical powers necessary to threaten his friend's existence and if he did I'm
- 20:10sure he'd bring him right back it's ridiculous and also I got to I
- 20:17got to point out though that it mentions towards the end that um it says
- 20:22unfortunately this isn't the first time Kermit Elementary has punished Aiden for
- 20:26things that seem to only bother Texas he once brought his favorite book to school
- 20:30to impress his teacher but the officials freaked out because the Big Book of
- 20:34Knowledge had a section about pregnancy and included an illustration of a
- 20:38pregnant woman in another innocuous incident Aiden referred to a black
- 20:42student as black which Drew yet another suspension from the school what so yeah
- 20:49me that one that one needs to be based on context I guess but a 9-year-old you
- 20:53know I think you can let racial Crips slide at that age surely yeah well I
- 20:58guess they felt that um I don't know pregnancy is a bit dirty maybe I no idea
- 21:04I think maybe a Texas school saw the Big Book of Knowledge and just felt really
- 21:09threatened by it there probably some Darwinism in there but it's big I
- 21:12thought they'd like it cuz it was big yeah I think their big book of knowledge
- 21:16in that part of the world is uh the Bible yeah yeah this pregnancy in
- 21:23that and also you know they don't like being they don't like the guilt trip
- 21:27that comes with pointing out someone's black cuz it just makes them all feel
- 21:31guilty there are no blacks in the Bible we know that but Luke's right there is
- 21:35pregnancy in fact there's a scene where a dude
- 21:38impregnates both of his underage daughters yep when are we going to see
- 21:45Ridley Scott make that movie that's right soon I
- 21:51hope well that's ridiculous and I'm uh I'm glad uh I wasn't raised in Texas
- 21:56because I would have been I don't know what would happened cuz I I used to come
- 22:00out with some crazy [ __ ] when I was a kid oh yeah man your stories would not
- 22:04have flown at school no I would have been I would have been TD and feathered yeah
- 22:10yeah yep yeah have I spoken on this podcast
- 22:16I'm sure I've told you as friends but I don't know if I've said it publicly
- 22:20about the phase that I went through when I was in year one and this will surprise
- 22:25nobody who knows me I went through an ABS
- 22:29absolute fascination with nudity and
- 22:34wrote story after story after Story in
- 22:37creative writing class about famous people and
- 22:43characters suddenly finding themselves in the nude like I wrote Ghostbusters in
- 22:48the nude yeah Superman in the nude and just every week like my poor teacher
- 22:54must have been like please no more nudity please I don't know how to
- 22:56[ __ ] talk to this how did they become for example the Ghostbusters one they
- 23:00were all in the showers when Janine hit the buzzer right and they just ran
- 23:05grabbed their proton packs slid down the pole got into the Ecto
- 23:09one and drove to the site and it was only when they got out of the car to
- 23:14bust the ghosts they realized holy [ __ ] we're naked classic yeah and I think it
- 23:20was because of movies like police academy and you know the scene where the
- 23:25guy's in the shower and ends up outside and I think in Police Academy 2 he ends
- 23:30up further in Police Academy 3 he ends up like in a bar like somewhere
- 23:34ridiculous right you know what I'm talking about yeah well I think so and
- 23:37you're influenced by that kind like a running gag no no it's not that I was
- 23:40influenced it's that when I was like when I was nine that was the funniest
- 23:43thing in the world to me somebody naked out in public was just the funniest
- 23:48thing in the world so I wrote this
- 23:50Omnibus of of nudity based stories using licensed
- 23:56characters well I used to com combine uh as you guys I'm sure know I still have
- 24:01these books um here my mom kept them God bless her um I used to combine your
- 24:07normal childhood um characters like the Muppet Babies uh and I was very into
- 24:14Doctor Who and Star Wars and things like that um GI Joe uh but I used to combine
- 24:20them with um with horror movies so he would have right one of my most Muppet
- 24:26blade babies get slaughtered do they yeah I I used to illustrate them as well um
- 24:32and I one of my most famous stories was um Doctor Who versus the Living Dead in
- 24:36which in which an army truck carrying canisters of mustard gas um takes a
- 24:42corner too sharp um and a a a canister of mustard gas rolls off the back of the
- 24:46truck into a cemetery and the gas is released and which causes zombies to
- 24:51rise from the grave and obviously the doctor has to come and and sort that out
- 24:56um there was also um I would watch the [ __ ] out of that
- 25:01map yeah Y no mistake Steven Moffett if you're listening give me a call we can
- 25:06show you the rights to it um uh I wrote Muppet Babies versus um the mutant
- 25:12Garden or something like that basically the Muppet babies were literally torn
- 25:15limb from limb by these giant Muppet eating plants and I so they're lost yeah
- 25:21yeah I and I had illustrations of Gonzo with like his his arms and legs ripped
- 25:26off and anyway probably what it sort of like something like that like the
- 25:29Muppets versus something The Muppets nor come out Wi on my
- 25:36stories but yeah I um yeah they called my parents in and uh that's fantastic my
- 25:42parents you be suspended yeah yeah my parents got called into the
- 25:48school uh in kindergarten because I'd paint all these beautiful colorful
- 25:51pictures and then just paint over the entire canvas with black and when the
- 25:56teacher said why I'd say it's at night yeah right nothing Sinister and she'd be
- 26:02like well then why did you paint it first and I like well they're there you
- 26:05just can't see them because it's night like I understood what night meant yeah
- 26:10yeah and uh it wouldn't be Superman in the dark if Superman wasn't there
- 26:14correct but I can just imagine the teachers just looking at me painting
- 26:17these pictures be like oh that's beautiful and then just see me just
- 26:20dipping the Big Brush in Black like even I'd assume the kid was
- 26:24depressed like Johnny from the fast show back
- 26:29black exactly got to make it all black you mentioned Muppet Babies yeah did I
- 26:35tell you I watched an episode of Muppet Babies about 3 weeks ago no no only
- 26:39because it popped into my head that Muppet Babies was a thing yeah yeah and
- 26:45like I kind of forgotten it existed and roughly the time it popped into my head
- 26:50and I remembered it existed I also thought well we're kind of living in an
- 26:53age now where everything is on YouTube so I could probably go and watch one
- 26:58and so I did and I remember in the opening credits for the Muppet Babies
- 27:03there were shots with Star Wars spacecrafts chasing the Muppet Babies
- 27:10right and so every single episode I'd hope it was that one right when I was a
- 27:15kid and it never was I don't know if I ever saw it so I typed into YouTube
- 27:20Muppet baby Star Wars and it's all there the episode's there for you to watch
- 27:25right and what's weird so the the have I talked about this before
- 27:28weird no I don't think so okay maybe you're that guy from last week yeah
- 27:32that's right stop saying that man um
- 27:37but the premise is Nanny remember
- 27:42there's a nanny yeah yeah she brings in she's dead a video camera well actually
- 27:47she's not the only one who's dead okay so I'll segue for a sec right so the
- 27:52Muppet Babies basically the premise is that all the cast of The show were
- 27:59raised together by a nanny as children right and I guess because in the Muppets
- 28:06there's only one girl Miss Piggy and the rest of boys that they thought for a kid
- 28:13show they should mix it up a bit right mhm so scooter it's scooter right or is
- 28:18it ska I think it's scoter I think it's scooter yeah in the Muppet Babies
- 28:24scooter has a twin sister right oh who by the time the Muppets is on and
- 28:30they're grown up is
- 28:34gone right so like at some point between the Muppet Babies and the Muppets she's
- 28:41Good's twin sister dies Jesus
- 28:48well we can and should all assume
- 28:52now that she was murdered by by large
- 28:56mutated plants well somebody oh yeah no I think it's something to do with Kermit
- 29:01and because he's so powerful that everyone's keeping it quiet so powerful
- 29:05also we kind of skimmed over the fact that the school in the last story was
- 29:09called Kermit elementary school has anyone got anything to say on
- 29:14that was that just a give and then we move on forgot about that but anyway I
- 29:19digress so nanny brings in a video camera and they all try to make movies
- 29:25and everyone's got an idea of what movie they want to make and then someone says
- 29:30I know what movie we'll make we'll make Star Wars and been
- 29:35done yeah that's right but they do it again and it's um it's just the Muppets
- 29:40acting out the characters from Star Wars and then it cuts to kind of the you know
- 29:46it becomes real their imagination takes over and it becomes real becomes a real
- 29:50movie and there's actual footage from
- 29:53the film episode yeah Wicked really it's
- 29:57so weird because you think of St Wars like footage and even the real
- 30:03names and stuff being really really protected by like LucasArts yeah um and
- 30:07I guess he was always affiliated with the Muppets but it's alarming just how
- 30:12direct the references are H I'll look it up later yeah cuz
- 30:18remember they did have like Mar HL on The Muppets and things like that yeah
- 30:21and 32 and R 32 the
- 30:25[ __ ] 32 our old favorite 32 32 an RPO this is why you lost Star Wars Trivial
- 30:31Pursuit Matt welcome to dyslexic Star Wars well there's not a two three either
- 30:37God I haven't had any drink this evening either what's going on maybe that's it
- 30:42maybe you're just dehydrated WR I'm too so
- 30:48um but for example I worked at Fox
- 30:51Studios Australia from 99 to 2001 right
- 30:55and George Lucas was popping in quite
- 30:59constantly to prep for Star Wars Episodes 2 and three which they filmed
- 31:04there um but I worked I didn't work in the part where they were filming of
- 31:09course I was like 20 I worked in the part where they just took you on a tour
- 31:14and the CEO had asked George Lucas for permission to build a Star Wars
- 31:21attraction you know a ride or something you walked through an experience right
- 31:26and George Lucas said to him no I don't give you permission because I
- 31:31want people to believe Star Wars really exists somewhere up in space what and if
- 31:37we build a ride they'll know it's fake but I mean Star Tours has been
- 31:43[ __ ] on for years right yeah yeah although not not as long I mean it would
- 31:50it would postate that what you're talking about so was there nothing else before
- 31:56then of Star Wars I mean that would might threaten
- 32:01people's idea that it's real that maybe it was just a movie that documentary
- 32:05Star Wars that's right
- 32:10weird yeah weird I mean he's a weird guy he's coping it a lot lately actually
- 32:14yeah should we actually we forgot to mention this last week with he yeah Luke
- 32:17why don't you take us through what's been happening in George Lucas news do
- 32:20we have a jingle for George Lucas news George lookas
- 32:26news no look news nice well he recently came out and
- 32:32spoke of a magazine about how he'd actually written written out what he
- 32:37thought 789 should be about and gave that to Disney when he sold it to them
- 32:42for free you can have that fre um DIY just went thanks for that
- 32:47George and threw it away we hope they threw it away in front
- 32:53of him too how happened on one of those yellow notepads that we saw him write The
- 32:59Phantom Menace first and only draft on I'll just I'll just file that with these
- 33:04letters from David PR offering to be in the new film we'll talk about David PR in this
- 33:11episode too yeah I'm good shadowing yeah but I don't know I know when we were
- 33:16talking about this in email like Matt you said like you don't know whether you
- 33:19should feel sorry for him and so no he brought this on himself I know but it's
- 33:23just it you know like there that's happened
- 33:28Disney's publicly saying ah he gave us a bunch of crap and we threw it in the bin
- 33:34and then not only that well not di he not say it he said it no I know but well
- 33:41yeah okay sub scripts I didn't want them yeah George Lucas or is that Owen
- 33:48Wilson I think maybe they're the same person I would love to see Owen Wilson
- 33:53play George Lucas well yeah and then and then you
- 33:59know everyone's there was that article about people asking him have he seen the
- 34:02new trailer and he was like no why would I watch that [ __ ] you all Christ no that
- 34:07was not what he said what he said was he only watches trailers at the movies he
- 34:11only watches trailers for movies he likes yeah is that what he said cuz I
- 34:15read that as why would I not interested no noar said since when do we care about
- 34:21the truth Luke speaking of the
- 34:26truth George GE Lucas says he'd written the scripts for 78 and9 but he also said
- 34:31he wrote those in the 70s yeah that's true so are these the same scripts or
- 34:36are these new versions the one he said there were 12 he also wrote said he
- 34:40wrote episode 1 2 and three in the 70s well and also n I've written this one
- 34:45we're going to go with by first draft also I'll try and find this because I I
- 34:49think it's really interesting I don't know if we discussed it before try to
- 34:51find it for the show notes he also says that nobody knew what Vader actually
- 34:56said except for for Mark Hill and James Jones and him except no I know what
- 35:00you're gonna say before they even had the title for the second film while they
- 35:05were still doing promotion for Star Wars the original there's an interview with
- 35:08David press in a magazine or newspaper where he basically outlines the plot for
- 35:14like the whole rest of the series he says that Darth Vader is Luke's father
- 35:20and um you know like he's gonna chop Luke's hand off and Luke's gonna have to
- 35:24become a Jedi and all this kind of stuff and it's from it's from like well before
- 35:29Empire so yeah absolutely and I think that's probably one additional reason
- 35:35they don't get along there's also an interview with Mark Hamill where he
- 35:39where he spills beans on that [ __ ] right from like just after they did well not
- 35:45just after because first off Lucas commissioned um not Timothy Zan who's
- 35:51the other one who's the other prolific author of um foster elen foster alen
- 35:57foster commission allenan Foster to do um spinter of the M's eye yeah which was
- 36:02The Unofficial sequel which was going to be luks buzzing in like it's uh star
- 36:08trivia yeah um and if he couldn't get the studio to
- 36:14fund sequels he was going to do Splinter of the Mind's Eye as like a
- 36:19lowbudget indie project cuz Splinter is it is that something about it's got the
- 36:24stone the magical stone that gives him powers or something carbon Crystal yeah
- 36:28car Crystal yeah um yeah basically it continues directly on from the end of
- 36:34Star Wars luk and Leia are still together it doesn't feature Han Solo at all
- 36:41because um Harrison Ford had not signed on for sequels ah but Mark and Carrie
- 36:47had so it's about Luke and Leia they're not brother and sister they're still luk
- 36:53actually trying to check her out while she's changing
- 36:58yeah that's right of course um and Darth V is still chasing him basically right
- 37:03well speaking of potentially we're going to talk about Star Wars again um
- 37:08somewhere into this uh and I I there's the danger for this to get a bit dry um
- 37:13but I don't hopefully we can just keep it
- 37:16goofy um the film Gravity uh most of you
- 37:20will know um was was a big film last year um yeah yeah I think it won the
- 37:26ecademy award for most forgettable film of the year yeah I I wasn't a huge fan
- 37:30of it a lot of people were were they though well apparently podcast I think
- 37:35it did all right no no not on the podcast um but it's now come to light
- 37:41that um many years ago in 1999 I believe
- 37:46that is many years ago yeah um well prior to that there's a Woman by the
- 37:51name of Tess garrettson who wrote a novel called
- 37:57gravity mhm mhm um so pre-1999 she wrote this novel and it's about a female
- 38:04astronaut on the International Space Station who due to some accidents and
- 38:08such gets stuck up there and um her you know like there's all this Mayhem and
- 38:13mischief and she has to try and get back
- 38:15to Earth so MH um uh a company called uh
- 38:20some subsidiary of new line um Productions um purchased film rights
- 38:26sorry yeah new line yeah purchased um the film rights from
- 38:30her with a contract that said if it was turned into they paid her like a million
- 38:35or something and then if the film got made she would get a production bonus of
- 38:40$500,000 along with a share of profits and um a share of profits means nothing
- 38:45because films AR profitable but she should have got 500 Grand yeah from from
- 38:50the film oh and a and a based on credit for the film yeah which is almost more
- 38:56important than the money correct yeah because it's a claim and it could help
- 39:00her get more stuff so um from her point of view the film progressed for a bit
- 39:06and she wrote a bunch of additional stuff she worked on the screenplay and
- 39:09wrote stuff that wasn't in the book stuff about in the third act um where
- 39:14the satellite debris destroys the International Space Station and the
- 39:18female astronaut is alone a drif in her space suit and has to to try and make
- 39:24her way back down to earth like that that part of it wasn't in the original
- 39:27but that was written by her for the new screenplay okay um and then at some
- 39:34point um they just said uh we're not going to proceed so it was all sheld mhm
- 39:40and she was like fine and went on with her life yeah so she took her fee for
- 39:44having sold it yeah which not inconsiderable a million dollars yeah
- 39:48you know not bad um and she went on her
- 39:51way and then in around 2008 2009 Alonso
- 39:57Kuran Kuran how you Kuran Kuran wrote the the script for
- 40:03Gravity the film which um was released last year um to somewhat critical
- 40:09Acclaim as far as I'm aware people liked it didn't they I thought people loved it
- 40:13well I want a bunch of oscars but I mean who the [ __ ] knows yeah all right well
- 40:16it did well anyway as far as I'm aware yeah I'm fairly sure it did everyone's
- 40:19aware of it so anyway boring as [ __ ] yeah so did I I've still yet to watch it
- 40:25don't bother yeah but anyway they put the film out and then a lot of people
- 40:29said to her oh is that the film based on your book and she said no it's there's
- 40:35some similarities but you know it's not like um you know maybe someone
- 40:40remembered it or whatever but it's not you know so she's not it's not copyright
- 40:44infringement or anything like that let's say it's different enough that she was
- 40:47like oh maybe it's a coincidence mhm except she apparently found out recently
- 40:53that um aonso Kanan Kanan [ __ ]
- 40:57Alonso Alo was originally working on her the adaptation
- 41:04of her book
- 41:08so she's now suing not for copyright but
- 41:14for um breach of contract which states that if the film is based on her book
- 41:20which it appears it might it may well be because um he was working on the
- 41:25adaptation of her book of a called gravity which is about a woman stranded
- 41:30in space and now he's made a film about that later on gravity yeah that's s
- 41:35that's sort of project that's been stopped that's a project that's sort of
- 41:37more more so put on hold for a few years yeah so she's say's the thing she's
- 41:41saying she deserves the based on credit and the money that's that's her that's
- 41:47her version she probably does deserve that but here's why she probably won't
- 41:50get it yeah uh because it's more complicated than than she's making out
- 41:55so number one uh she sold the wrs of her book to new
- 42:02line Cinema who have since been bought
- 42:06out by Warner Brothers yes she sued Warner Brothers for breach
- 42:12of contract mhm and Warner Brothers quite rightly said nothing to do with us
- 42:17we didn't have a contract with you we don't know who you are right so right
- 42:21off the bat she's suing the wrong people well so her I see what you mean but also
- 42:27cour case no no no I can see why she's angry but here's what she's doing wrong
- 42:30yeah yeah sure she lost the court case against them she has 20 days to file an
- 42:33appeal with new evidence basically the judge said you can't sue a company you
- 42:37didn't have a contract with for breach of contract and contracts with a company
- 42:41that's been bought and um dissolved a
- 42:46null and void yeah so it leaves the fact
- 42:51that they still should have credited her for the writing of the film
- 42:57yeah well or at least it's a bit dubious
- 43:02that Alonso coron read a script called gravity and then less than a decade
- 43:07later wrote a script called gravity with the same premise yeah and I think par
- 43:13and and also they haven't tried to deny that in any of the as far as I'm aware
- 43:18they haven't tried to deny that that happened all they're denying is that
- 43:22that contract is still in place they've said well that contract uh is
- 44:28and his son yeah for him to direct it they weren't purchasing the
- 44:34rights of a book they were just purchasing a fully written screen plate
- 44:37she Sue anyone she should sue aonso kurran yeah but stealing her [ __ ]
- 44:42story she probably won't win though because it it it's it's different she
- 44:46even she admits the film doesn't really like there's there's you know basic
- 44:52similarities but it's not enough to win a copyright case I don't think and she
- 44:55doesn't she doesn't think anyway and it doesn't matter I think matters what she
- 45:00thinks so I don't know it's just all a bit [ __ ] if you ask me and I can see why
- 45:05she's upset um yes I can too unfortunately though
- 45:11this is kind of the way things work in Hollywood yeah yeah well and and you
- 45:16know what if she got paid initially for this she came out of it all right yeah I
- 45:21agree because this actually led me on to you you touched on the fact that we're
- 45:24going to talk about it I think um something else started learned this week
- 45:27that I didn't really realize um before with just how um they kind of do a bit
- 45:34of a dodgy on the numbers with films and
- 45:38apparently that is a big part of um the
- 45:42reason David PR and George Lucas didn't get on at the end um did you know about
- 45:48this I didn't know about this uh not to the level that it's outlined in this
- 45:52article okay yeah so this this article in the Atlantic came
- 45:57out and basically said that Hollywood movies don't make profits and what they
- 46:03mean by that because you might ask well don't they make millions of dollars and
- 46:08you'd be right in a lot of cases um but they pointed out that for example the
- 46:13example they used is the Return of the Jedi that we all love uh even though it
- 46:17came out in 1983 and has made almost half a billion dollars yeah um with an
- 46:23initial budget of 32 million which sounds like a profit but technically
- 46:28it's not because technically the the company that made
- 46:33the film is called Return of the Jedi
- 46:36Inc and every new film that is made a new Corporation is made to only
- 46:43manufacture that film Y and then that film pays a fee to
- 46:50whatever studio is its umbrella to release the movie
- 46:55distribution fees yeah distribution fees and so basically the the way it works
- 47:02well Matt they they have a good analogy there with a lemonade stand did you want
- 47:06to read that out sure cuz I thought that was pretty cool okay so imagine you're
- 47:09running a lemonade stand with your buddy Steve and your mom says you have to
- 47:12share half of your profits with your sister but you don't want to so you
- 47:17pretend your buddy Steve is actually a corporation and you call him Steve
- 47:21Incorporated and you he charges you rent for the stand and the spoon and
- 47:25everything and then you go home and you say well well I don't have any M money
- 47:28left mom cuz I had to pay it all to Steve Inc so there is no profit I can't
- 47:32share it with my sister and then um the money isn't really gone it's with your
- 47:37best friend and he just gives you half of it yeah so you're employed by the
- 47:41studio so you're getting paid your fee and your back end and your points and
- 47:48everything so you're covered but technically your film hasn't made money
- 47:52because everything gets passed up yeah which is fine uh cuz that's just how the
- 47:58system works and these corporations are done not in any weird greedy kind of
- 48:04sense they they're basically just done to protect Studios so that just say you
- 48:10made a movie and people took it the wrong way and everyone got offended and
- 48:13you just got sued by a bunch of people well you can only Sue Return of the Jedi
- 48:18Inc right you can't sue Warner Brothers and so once that company gets goes
- 48:24bankrupt uh that's it you know um whereas you know a multibillion doll
- 48:29company like Warner Brothers um could suffer quite a bit if they were liable
- 48:35for every little thing that they said yeah but what it does mean and what this
- 48:39article is talking about is David PR has come out and said
- 48:44he's not ever been paid any money for Return of the Jedi
- 48:48because there's not been any profits and he had points off the back end yeah and
- 48:53he say apparently he gets letters from them frequently saying they uh just want
- 48:59to let you know still haven't made any money yeah there's no profit sorry so uh you
- 49:03know keep hanging in there yeah look I'd
- 49:07take this more seriously if it was any other actor David prow I know because
- 49:13David pre is a troublemaker I agree and look apparently uh I learned today that
- 49:19it's common knowledge in the industry that like that's worthless like you
- 49:24never agree to a deal like that because it's absolutely worthless and everybody
- 49:27knows this so his agent would never have agreed to this and he was probably paid
- 49:33upfront as well he just 100% he would have been he would have been in this
- 49:37film because he was contracted at the first one to be in all three and for
- 49:41those of you don't know David PR is the bodybuilder who's inside the suit of
- 49:44Darth Vader yeah um he apparently pissed off George Lucas
- 49:50so much after the second film came out that George and him have not spoken
- 49:54since so the very fact that he's in the third one must mean that he was cont
- 49:59obligated to be in it um would have 100% been paid and he probably kicked up a
- 50:04stink at the time and to shut him up they promised him points off the back
- 50:08end which no walk-on actor would ever be
- 50:13promised yeah so probably this was just
- 50:16a gesture and he's now treating it with more seriousness than it was intended
- 50:22yeah right because it's worthless because it's worthless and everyone knew it yeah
- 50:27yeah well and like I said I I mean I just find it really interesting I wasn't
- 50:31aware that that's that's how it worked and that's people were saying um because
- 50:35she mentions uh in in the gravity case she mentions that um she was offered the
- 50:41production bonus but also um you know like a profit share or I think that's
- 50:44how she worded it and everyone was saying well that was that was a stupid
- 50:48thing to agree to and then and everyone's like well that's why the the
- 50:51production bonus is in there so that she was supposed to actually get something
- 50:55because profit is nothing it's it's almost a bit condescending really like
- 51:01with that knowledge like why even put it in there yeah here's one little tidbit though
- 51:08that I find funny Luke I don't know if you've noticed this too uh or youat but
- 51:13on the page of the article which is all about David
- 51:18prow I know what you're going to say well there's a picture of Sebastian Shaw
- 51:24yeah so I think I think Thompson the author of the article doesn't know who
- 51:29David prow is yeah well he just got David prow Darth Vader there he is guy
- 51:34in the suit done article type type type spell check
- 51:40[Laughter] published yeah
- 51:46yeah I mean poor Sebastian Shaw I mean he's had half his performance cut out of
- 51:52the special editions because he no longer appears as the ghost he's
- 51:55actually had his eyebrows digitally removed from the one scene he's still in
- 52:00so I say if he's getting his face out there powered to him yeah yeah yeah oh
- 52:06dear all right well um yeah anyway the gravity thing is just a bit of a shame
- 52:11and we'll see what happens um the film's boring anyway so I don't feel any worse
- 52:16about it so I do like Children of Men though so disappointing Children of Men
- 52:21is a great movie and he's made some other really good ones too yeah it's
- 52:24just disappointing to think that he's been a bit a bit dishonest yeah
- 52:29but here's the thing how similar is this because it's completely plausible that
- 52:36in 1999 he was attached to some script called gravity about a woman on the ISS
- 52:42yeah and for whatever reason maybe let's say it wasn't any good it didn't get
- 52:47made right yeah he' already had credits he did um a bunch of Hollywood movies
- 52:54before that he'd yet to make his real block ERS but he'd made several
- 52:57Hollywood movies she's made none and still to this day she's credited with no
- 53:03other feature films no she's not likely to anymore some TV work right so this is
- 53:08not a Hollywood player this is just someone who wrote a book that was
- 53:11optioned by a Hollywood studio yeah he
- 53:14comes along Alonso reads it passes the film's put in turnaround right yeah
- 53:20company gets sold rights are dissolved everyone forgets about it he's now a
- 53:25mega star and he's made great movies like Children of Men his son is a writer
- 53:29and his son says I want to make a film and his dad says well let's sit
- 53:36down and write one and then as they're spitting out ideas his dad says
- 53:42consciously or unconsciously um what about a woman on
- 53:46the ISS like that might be the extent of it that's all you're taking that's fair
- 53:51you don't owe somebody royalties or credit yeah that's fair and like I and
- 53:57also even if he was aware of where the idea came from it's not good interview
- 54:02to sit there and go oh there's a book and then company got dissolved and that
- 54:06kind of thing you just go no I wrote this with my son yeah and this is
- 54:09probably going into too much detail now yeah maybe and you did warn us of
- 54:13getting dry but I do know a fair bit about this
- 54:16so the arbitration that happens for every single Hollywood film
- 54:23mhm is Through The Writers Guild of America the GA
- 54:29who go over it with a committee yeah and
- 54:33decide who gets written by screenplayed
- 54:38by and based on on the film yeah because chances are a Hollywood film has been
- 54:44written by up to a dozen people yeah doing rewrites complete workovers and
- 54:49it's not necessarily who wrote the last one who wrote the first one or even who
- 54:53wrote the most that gets it it's a whole lot of political stuff within the
- 54:58industry it doesn't stop you from getting jobs if your name's not left off
- 55:02because people know generally who wrote what yeah but who actually gets their
- 55:05name on screen written by screenplayed
- 55:09by or based on a novel by um has to tick
- 55:13a lot of boxes yeah and get officially
- 55:18okayed so it could just be as simple as they're just not being enough from this
- 55:25person's grp or novel yeah to Warrant her getting a
- 55:30credit or just that I mean Warner probably didn't even know about this oh
- 55:36Warner didn't that's that's for sure Warner wouldn't have it never would have
- 55:39come up yeah Alonso Kuran would have walked in with a script that they would
- 55:43have gone great let's do it a similar story is happening uh with True
- 55:47Detective Matt did you end up watching True Detective not yet no unfortun I
- 55:51really think you'll like it yeah I should I should it's about serial killer
- 55:55man yeah all right exactly your type of thing all right all right but there's a
- 55:59Char without getting anything away from the plot there's a character who's just
- 56:03down in the dumps and is constantly criticizing humanity and talking about
- 56:06how [ __ ] everything is basically it's Dave
- 56:11right but a lot of what he says and he goes on these dire tribes from time to
- 56:16time and it came out at some point that a lot of what he said actually comes
- 56:21from a Thomas lagotti book called the
- 56:24conspiracy against the human race right
- 56:28sometimes actually verbatim or only slightly paraphrased from the actual
- 56:34text of this book H and this this huge debate going on in Hollywood at the
- 56:38moment as to whether or not this is plagiarism or copyright infringement or
- 56:43something because it's not credited at
- 56:47all H and I mean he doesn't even say oh
- 56:52as Thomas lagotti says right he just says it or even so much as he's spouting
- 56:58all this and then the other character finds a copy of Thomas loz's book next
- 57:03time he's in his apartment right you know what I mean there's no
- 57:08signifier that he's uh quoting someone else as far as
- 57:14anyone's aware that it was written by the writer of the show correct right in
- 57:18in the same way as if you put a quote into an essay you were writing at Uni
- 57:22and didn't cite it for the person right who originally said It you would be
- 57:28remanded for plagiarism yeah of course
- 57:32so it's all very confusing in that
- 57:38world well I'm glad I don't have to decide these things me too I'm going to
- 57:43watch GL I get to just watch the movies yeah I'm I'm going to watch that show I
- 57:47do want to I think I think I um have it available to
- 57:52me I'll have to double check that um should we take a moment now uh just
- 57:59to inform our listeners on how they can get in touch with us um I already
- 58:04did yeah okay so ring late at night or send pictures of dicks or both um yeah
- 58:10that is one option um because we would love to hear from you um if there's
- 58:14anything you like or dislike about the show or if you just want to chat can't
- 58:17get in touch um podcast at multiple nasm.com is the email address yep or you
- 58:23can find us on Facebook facebook.com for / multiple ner gasm there's also Google
- 58:29Plus which is plus.google.com no I'm not going to give this out no
- 58:34what's going there just the worst addresser no just go to Twitter M
- 58:39nerdgasm there you go or if you go to the website multiple nasm.com there's a
- 58:43contact form um and another thing you can do uh if you want if you want to
- 58:47support the show and we have a patreon account which you can find at
- 58:50patreon.com multip nerdgasm um it's a service where you can you can kind of
- 58:55you know pay as a dollar or two for each episode um and you can set a cap on how
- 58:59much per month you want to give us so that we can't just put out 100 episodes
- 59:02and and then run off to Mexico that be good what with our $100 yeah exactly so
- 59:08if you like the show um you know like it
- 59:11would be great to um to try and expand and do more things so um we've Set uh
- 59:17the first Milestone we've set is that if we if we get up to $20 an episode um
- 59:22we'll guarantee to do a two segments every week because sometimes we don't
- 59:25have time time for them because you know we'll have jobs or whatever but um but
- 59:30we guarantee we'll do two of them a week so you'll get a uh you know triple taglines
- 59:35Kon maram you know two of them a week so uh and then we'll try and think of some
- 59:41other cool Milestone goals and and rewards as well so um so yeah check it
- 59:46out um a dollar an episode's pretty cheap for all the value we give I think
- 59:51isn't it yeah Buck a show I think so yeah dollar a show get on there so um
- 59:57yeah also I've got some mugs here oh yeah so if anyone would like a mug send
- 1:00:04email and we'll get you one sent out yeah can't argue with that send us an
- 1:00:09email get a mug um now uh I'd like to um I'd like to have a competition as well
- 1:00:16actually if you guys don't mind oh well go right ahead um I'm a big fan of The
- 1:00:21Witcher as you all know and the listeners probably know by now and The Witcher 3 comes out
- 1:00:26soon as long as it doesn't get pushed back again yeah may I think we get we
- 1:00:31get it now um and uh I've got a Witcher shirt witch t-shirt that I would like to
- 1:00:37give away to some lucky listener oh um it is a Witcher 3 the wild Hunt t-shirt
- 1:00:44in size large um and I'm going to give that away and what I would like you the
- 1:00:49listeners to do in return is finish a story for me
- 1:00:54oh okay [Music]
- 1:00:59it's a wit
- 1:01:03competition it's The Witcher
- 1:01:09competition all right but I want you to I want you to finish this story this is
- 1:01:14a little little bit of uh Witcher fan fiction that I've written and I want the
- 1:01:17listeners to to finish the story so here we go geralt of Rivia Witcher stroe into
- 1:01:23town the head of the Sasquatch hang in from the hook at his belt dark blood and
- 1:01:28dear urine still dripping thickly onto the stones of the square I've killed the
- 1:01:33Beast he approached the Burgermeister and extended the Grim trophy as evidence
- 1:01:37I'll take the gold now thanks there's another matter that requires your
- 1:01:41attention the Burgermeister looked sheepish we'll double the pay geralt
- 1:01:45Shrugged fine what do I kill next a female voice whispered in the crowd and
- 1:01:49a group of local maidens giggled geralt smiled perhaps when I return I can show
- 1:01:54you the girls blushed and geralt winked to the Burgermeister my hearing is exceptional he
- 1:02:00explained some thing has taken some of our people what manner of thing we're not
- 1:02:06sure exactly but it left tracks human looking but they lead into the swamp
- 1:02:11what's in the swamp nothing but muck flies beasts and despair we don't
- 1:02:16Venture in well triple the fee then and so geralt entered the swamp his silver
- 1:02:22sword at the ready the trail was not hard to follow and it was certainly human
- 1:02:56[Laughter]
- 1:03:25so there's a copy here that's up for grabs so all right if one of you guys
- 1:03:31can think of something well I can add I can I'll have to check what we've got
- 1:03:34but I think we've got some Evil Within merch that we assume Don would want so
- 1:03:38we can actually sweeten the deal on that too and get rid of some crap from my
- 1:03:40house oh could be a prize pack yep a
- 1:03:43Evil Within prize pack yeah awesome a
- 1:03:48game none of us liked but you might like well speaking of games people like
- 1:03:52actually no you know what I've said too much for the moment no you can in or do
- 1:03:56you want to we can mix it up how about some um how about some more fanfic
- 1:04:00actually while we're on the topic oh yeah I mean why not I mean where there's
- 1:04:05some great fanfiction out there and the internet's kind of become the place to
- 1:04:10publish your work you know what I mean to self-publish yeah
- 1:04:14um and actually I was alerted to this by a listener who wrote in let me just
- 1:04:20bring up her email here so we can hand it out on the
- 1:04:25show no not her email address just her email please please please talk about
- 1:04:31this on the next podcast so we are
- 1:04:36um and it's about gay dinosaur erotic
- 1:04:41fiction so I mean dinosaur erotic fiction on its own is pretty amusing as
- 1:04:48a concept yeah uh but gay dinosaur erotic fiction is just well you know just takes it that
- 1:04:54one step further toward that Excellence y um so there's a guy called Chuck
- 1:04:59tingle and he's written a series of gay
- 1:05:05dinosaur erotic fiction
- 1:05:08including taken by the gay unicorn
- 1:05:13biker space Raptor I just saw the
- 1:05:17cover my billionaire Triceratops craves gay
- 1:05:22ass and gay T-Rex law executive boner so this is not even this isn't gay
- 1:05:29dinosaurs this is gay men with gay dinosaurs is that what this is correct
- 1:05:33well you want to hear some of the synopses yes L to please here's the
- 1:05:37synopsis for my billionaire Triceratops craves gay ass and if you're wondering
- 1:05:43the cover is It's seems to be Central Park or some kind of inner city park
- 1:05:48there's a very gay looking man with no shirt on ripped muscles and behind him
- 1:05:54is a tricer tops with a top hat and a mon that's how you know he's a trillionaire
- 1:06:01um and here's the synopsis even though dinosaur and human relationships are
- 1:06:06frowned upon Jeremy finds he can't resist his Rich former pet when Oliver
- 1:06:11takes him out in fact they skip right over dinner and go home to have fun with
- 1:06:16Oliver's tricera [ __ ] the story just raised so many
- 1:06:20questions like how did dinosaurs kiss a tricera Cox scaly and why the hell would
- 1:06:25you skip dinner if your billionaire former pet dinosaur is paying so you
- 1:06:30know Jesus uh it's interesting you guys want to hear about gay T-Rex Law Firm
- 1:06:34executive boner of course what a title that's
- 1:06:39even this one's got an even gayer looking topless muscle man on the front
- 1:06:44um in a boardroom with uh that's an amazing
- 1:06:50picture T-Rex heads on uh the guy on the left is my favorite a
- 1:06:55[Laughter] and here's the synopsis for this one
- 1:07:00basically Donny's boss Tyson Rex calls out a contract will allow the
- 1:07:05partners that will allow the partners T-Rex get it yeah yeah yeah I got it
- 1:07:11they will allow the partners at the firm to run a T-Rex gang bang train on Dolly
- 1:07:15Sullivan's gay human ass for the sum of1 billion even this is a direct
- 1:07:21quote and Donnie is so tired from his hard day filing work he's like oh well I
- 1:07:27can't do anything about it and goes along with it even though he insists he
- 1:07:31isn't gay and doesn't want to have sex with dinosaurs and I love how that's one
- 1:07:35thing where that should be two completely different
- 1:07:38issues of course he loves it in the end but really it's 50 Shades of dinosaur
- 1:07:43wrong so if they were female dinosaurs he'd be up for it he might have been up
- 1:07:47for it yeah oh man these just getting gayer and gayer so space Raptor butt
- 1:07:53Invasion right has has a raving on the
- 1:07:58front with no shirt on and these are what look like stock photographs if you
- 1:08:04type into Getty Images right poorly
- 1:08:09photosho deatched and behind him is a
- 1:08:13NASA scientist on a lunar rover seg
- 1:08:17looking thing yeah with a dinosaur head comped on coming out of the helmet like
- 1:08:22why is it even wearing a helmet if it doesn't need to breathe
- 1:08:26according to space Raptor butt Invasion dinosaurs didn't actually go extinct
- 1:08:31they just learned how to travel through space there's a lot of World building in
- 1:08:35this one uh but of course it finally comes along to banging despite Lan's
- 1:08:41prestations that he's not
- 1:08:44gay wow okay so uh God just they they
- 1:08:50all claim to be not gay which is a bit a bit weird
- 1:08:56but um you know a little unicorn fiction here too pounded by the gay unicorn
- 1:09:02football squad yeah he is pounded by President Bigfoot which possibly
- 1:09:08possibly could go in uh Sasquatch news I think Terry smalli might have to read
- 1:09:12this book I think Terry smallo should um read the
- 1:09:17synopsis um see if I can get him on the show all right Terry what you can do
- 1:09:22Terry F Terry wake up [ __ ] come here
- 1:09:26what I need you just just read this all right [ __ ] um how you
- 1:09:33going Terry who's that oh it's Dan mate it's
- 1:09:39and Luke here too Terry a [ __ ] off um
- 1:09:42sorry Terry yeah all right Allan is a hot shot um journalist blogger whose
- 1:09:48skills involve being a young hot gay man um that's basically what his resume says
- 1:09:54that is a skill that is a skill um he nabs an interview with President Guk Yol
- 1:09:59do a big fot a big foot is this is this a non-fiction book except here interview
- 1:10:06means sex which Allan discovers to his Delight despite the fact Bigfoot human relations
- 1:10:12are taboo oh yeah they are even presidents can't erase all prejudices CU
- 1:10:16you know what they say about big feet Yes this line is in the book oh so he
- 1:10:21gets a little sasor pess inside of him
- 1:10:26I see this is this one's got another uh stock image gay man except what's really
- 1:10:30disturbing me about this one is that he's obviously shaved his chest at some
- 1:10:35point in the past and it started to grow back so it's like I don't care if you
- 1:10:39shave your chest or you don't shave your chest but if you're going to a model
- 1:10:43shoot have it as one or the other don't have chest stubble yeah you got to get
- 1:10:47it waxed the day before yes stubble is the worst anyway
- 1:10:53I'm off see you bye bye see Terry see
- 1:10:58you Terry shut the door [ __ ] guy's
- 1:11:03useless anyway speak French to him and say jador yeah yeah yeah yeah he's a
- 1:11:09he's a classy Bogan wonder if he sells a lot of these
- 1:11:15I hope so speaking of weird things people have made um the latest the hot
- 1:11:21new thing in mobile games apparently is um is characters from Frozen giving
- 1:11:28birth yeah this is so weird and the only thing that I can think is that this game
- 1:11:33was three4 of the way through development and then somebody said if we
- 1:11:37make this the character from Frozen a million more people will download it
- 1:11:41yeah so it's obviously it's not an official Disney game um the game is
- 1:11:46called uh Anna sorry Anna it's pronounced Anor in the film Anna giving
- 1:11:51birth it's an unlicensed Frozen app designed by OLG V
- 1:11:56oov and um basically in the game you deliver Anna's baby via cesarian section
- 1:12:02yeah it's it if it wasn't disturbing enough that Anna's giving birth and that
- 1:12:09you watch it it's a cesarian yeah yeah so I don't
- 1:12:16know if you watched the video the game is no longer available um or at least it
- 1:12:19wasn't available on the Australian store so I wasn't able to play it
- 1:12:22unfortunately um I'd be surprised if on that in a minute I I managed to to sort
- 1:12:28something else out but more on that in a minute but in this game if you watch the
- 1:12:31video basically she um she's there and she's pregnant and you have to first
- 1:12:35give her an inje injection and then you have to freeze her stomach for some
- 1:12:39reason and you slice her open uh and then uh you use some other magic thing
- 1:12:44and then the baby just kind of appears um it's all a bit weird completely
- 1:12:48accurate yeah it to be honest it looks looks like an awful game so clearly the
- 1:12:53the only thing that's got going for it is that it's hilariously here's the
- 1:12:57thing though even if it wasn't Anna from Frozen mhm why would you want to play a
- 1:13:03mobile game where you gave women cesarians
- 1:13:07well I wasn't able to play um give uh
- 1:13:13[ __ ] Anna Anna giving birth yeah however um I have an Android device and
- 1:13:18and Jenna does also and so we had to look around um and there are quite a lot
- 1:13:23of games like this especially on Android but one that I managed to find that
- 1:13:28keeping in in a similar vein it's an Android game called mom gives birth a
- 1:13:33baby um and it stars a character who looks suspiciously like Elsa from um
- 1:13:38Frozen the other girl from Frozen so this is yeah this is Mom gives birth a
- 1:13:43baby and this is under the simulation section of the Android app store oh God
- 1:13:48let me let me read you the description here from um mom gives birth a baby
- 1:13:53let's give Mom a precious help hand ready to deliver the packet to the
- 1:13:56hospital for her join the mother's room and find all the items on the left side
- 1:14:01of the screen and the skills of listening the main test your doctor and
- 1:14:05help she delivered her baby once the children out you are going to run a
- 1:14:09routine inspection to some of the basic measure to make sure that everything is
- 1:14:13good he will be careful to put him in his mother's arms have a great time in
- 1:14:19the mother baby game see this is why Apple have made it
- 1:14:23that not just anyone can upload [ __ ] game like this is the exact
- 1:14:29reason um so I know that Jenna played a bit of this and uh I don't think it's
- 1:14:34definitely not her favorite game and it was a little confusing and hard to
- 1:14:38control but um uh I just wanted to read some of the reviews that people have
- 1:14:42left here please do on the Android App Store um Amelia Webster gave it three
- 1:14:48stars she says I suppose it's okayish what is wrong with the child's head
- 1:14:52anyway also on the bit where you have to I the human child it won't work I
- 1:14:57actually managed to get that far on this phone Port of a flash
- 1:15:01game now Luke I don't want you to make any comments at all because I think if
- 1:15:05you even weigh in on a game where you have to lotion a child that this could
- 1:15:10come off badly for you and could possibly breach your parole requirements
- 1:15:14so let's just cool it um Ellie sholo gives it five stars my mom and I have
- 1:15:20been a few hours on the game um this one I like just because I
- 1:15:25like to imagine how this happened this person is called Mercedes younger
- 1:15:30man Mercedes younger man and she's written seriously why would they make
- 1:15:35this for younger man
- 1:15:40cheren I like to think that her phone autoc corrected because her name is
- 1:15:45younger man the word young younger man and then she's just spelled cheren wrong
- 1:15:52so wow that one made me laugh um Taylor says Elsa gave birth a baby I put stuff
- 1:15:58a bag and went a Hos Tipple I gave bur a
- 1:16:02baby and went back to the
- 1:16:06hos and um my favorite is this one here uh by savan Savannah
- 1:16:12Peters um this is all in capitals says so yell it terab worst thing that I have
- 1:16:19played worst than Elmo what what does Elmo do wow worse
- 1:16:26than Elmo doesn't matter what Elmo's done it's worst than
- 1:16:30Elmo far Worst by the sounds of it look I've got two things to say in response
- 1:16:35to this number one you can hardly blame them because um I have a four-year-old
- 1:16:40niece Matt you're nie is roughly the same age right yeah she's like six this
- 1:16:44year yeah close enough yeah she loves frozen Eloise is obsessed with Frozen
- 1:16:50and all of her toys are frozen related
- 1:16:53and most of her clothes frz related and
- 1:16:57she just had a bir and gift from every
- 1:17:02was frozen [ __ ] so like these guys are raking in the cash and if you're making
- 1:17:08unlicensed [ __ ] you could hardly be blamed to cash in no it's a it's a good
- 1:17:14franchise to infringe upon yeah that's right if you're going to infringe upon
- 1:17:19any copyrighted material this would be the one I'd choose as well secondly this is not
- 1:17:25a new phenomenon and I recall back in the
- 1:17:3280s uh having a game on the Commodore
- 1:17:3664 called D baby which was when Princess
- 1:17:41Diana oh oh had Prince William right is he the older one oh
- 1:17:47don't I yeah you yeah he is let's assume it is yeah um you know and that was a
- 1:17:53big news at the time that there was you know a prince and uh
- 1:17:59so level one you were Charles and you
- 1:18:04had to drive her to the hospital to give birth and it was like a top down
- 1:18:10driving driving game yep um then there was other levels the only one I can
- 1:18:16really remember is it's kind of like Space Invaders except you're at the
- 1:18:20bottom with a mug and there's nappies across the top of the screen that tip
- 1:18:26over periodically and pour [ __ ]
- 1:18:30out and you have to catch it in the cup yeah I guess that's how they do it in
- 1:18:36Buckingham Palace yeah right but um so you're the butler or something obviously
- 1:18:41um I just put a link to it oh you do you find it I found it I just found it on
- 1:18:46YouTube oh my god oh wow I've got to see this D baby
- 1:18:51on the bab on 64 yep Jinx Matt this is going to be in the show
- 1:18:57notes well I think everyone needs to just pause while I watch
- 1:19:01this Yep this is it D's baby look at this
- 1:19:06thing my gosh so I was what year did this come out
- 1:19:121984 oh look it's the [ __ ] yeah why is this [ __ ]
- 1:19:18falling my gosh this is really
- 1:19:23weird man I missed my 64 now that's a
- 1:19:27great system yes there poops
- 1:19:32yeah all right well that'll be in the show
- 1:19:36notes and excuse me for just getting one little detail wrong the the [ __ ] is
- 1:19:41coming out of cups but at some point nappies fly at you as well right well
- 1:19:46Napp the second okay the second level is like a like a sidescrolling or
- 1:19:53like a platformer rather it's not scrolling at all and
- 1:19:57um there's a baby carriage that you seem to have to get to but there's a native
- 1:20:03with a spear trying to stop you and a camera so she's visiting
- 1:20:09Australia I really don't understand this but um well I've just got one final
- 1:20:15review for um for mom gives birth a baby that I'd like to read out this is um
- 1:20:21Kendall mallister says five stars I love
- 1:20:25berth I love it so much I wish I was Elsa that's all for this week thank you
- 1:20:31for listening and we hope you enjoyed the show if you enjoyed it then please
- 1:20:37subscribe and items to receive episodes
- 1:20:40automatically we'll see you next time
