  SPEAKER_01: Welcome, Roger.
• 1:18
SPEAKER_00: Hey Tim, thank you very much.
• 1:19
SPEAKER_00: And it's my pleasure to be here and talk about high school football.
• 1:22
SPEAKER_00: Well, what a week it was.
• 1:24
SPEAKER_00: Weekend just uh about a week ago coming up with the first official games of the new season.
• 1:31
SPEAKER_00: And I think probably the had to be the most anticipated matchup was between Maine Anwell and Shenango Forks.
• 1:38
SPEAKER_00: And you go back the first regular season loss for the Forks since back in September 12th of 2015.
• 1:44
SPEAKER_00: Guess who that was against?
• 1:45
  SPEAKER_00: Main Enwell, 28-21.
• 1:47
SPEAKER_00: Uh uh since uh the forks four consecutive wins over the Spartans, but that ended over this past weekend as uh Emmy rang up a 40 to 14 win over the forks.
• 1:57
SPEAKER_00: Certainly a lot of points to give up against an always tough team to play against.
• 2:02
SPEAKER_00: They had some errors, some penalties, uh turnovers, and the result was Emmy rolled.
• 2:06
SPEAKER_00: And uh we know the Spartans are loaded.
• 2:08
SPEAKER_00: Uh matter of fact, they're the top team in the state in Class B entering play this weekend.
• 2:13
SPEAKER_00: So they came out on fire at a huge game for them.
• 2:16
SPEAKER_00: Uh elsewhere, Susquehanna Valley, big win over Dryden.
• 2:19
SPEAKER_00: Uh the um Susquehanna Valley Sabers, 43-7.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_00: They scored 37 points early and went on to get the win.
• 2:26
SPEAKER_00: Uh UE, what an offense.
• 2:28
  SPEAKER_00: 72-8 over Johnson City.
• 2:30
SPEAKER_00: Uh Rocco Spinelli, 103 yards rushing.
• 2:33
SPEAKER_00: Max Cementelli, 180 yards passing, four touchdown passes.
• 2:37
SPEAKER_00: UE had the first 65 points scored in the game.
• 2:40
SPEAKER_00: The Tigers up 37-0 at the half.
• 2:42
  SPEAKER_00: Bestel at Horseheads.
• 2:44
SPEAKER_00: Horseheads opening their brand new stadium, and Horseheads went on to win 20 to nothing.
• 2:48
SPEAKER_00: Horseheads coming off a five and one spring, so they are off to a great start.
• 2:53
SPEAKER_00: Also at Sydney, Tyoga always strong in section four play.
• 2:58
SPEAKER_00: They rolled 53-6 coming up with a win at Sydney.
• 3:02
SPEAKER_00: Hioga had 332 yards on the ground, Emmett Wood, 107 yards rushing, three rushing touchdowns.
• 3:08
SPEAKER_00: At the AA level, Elmyra Express, Clover, the Binghamton Patriots, 53-8.
• 3:14
SPEAKER_00: So a big win for them.
• 3:15
SPEAKER_00: Chenago Valley, Felto Watkins, Glenodessa Montour, 35-12 at CV.
• 3:20
SPEAKER_00: Trayvon Jones, 129 yards, 17 carries in that win.
• 3:24
SPEAKER_00: Now, coming up this weekend, some other big games as week two rolls into play.
• 3:30
SPEAKER_00: UE brings that big offense into action at Alumni Stadium matching up against the Bingham and Patriots.
• 3:35
SPEAKER_00: How about this test for the Patriots?
• 3:39
SPEAKER_00: They gave up over 50 points, 53 points in their loss, and UE scored 72.
• 3:45
SPEAKER_00: So that has the potential to be a very tough game for Binghamton, no doubt about that.
• 3:50
SPEAKER_00: Meanwhile, other action, Elmira plays at Horseheads, a double-A team.
• 3:54
SPEAKER_00: Elmira matching up against the Class A team in Horseheads.
• 3:58
SPEAKER_00: Also on Friday's schedule, Maine Enwell travels to Vesta with a B game.
• 4:02
  SPEAKER_00: Dryden at Chidango Forks.
• 4:04
  SPEAKER_00: Will the Forks rebound?
• 4:05
SPEAKER_00: Well, my guess is they certainly will, but a sea battle there.
• 4:09
SPEAKER_00: So those are some of the big games.
• 4:10
SPEAKER_00: Norwich will be at Susquehanna Valley, SB 1-0, and uh Norwich is coming off a win against Johnstown.
• 4:17
SPEAKER_00: So they are unbeaten till we get to that one.
• 4:18
SPEAKER_00: So those are some of the big games we'll be keeping an eye on this weekend, but it should be a very interesting, as it always is, second weekend to play coming up around section four, Tim.
• 4:28
  SPEAKER_01: Excellent.
• 4:28
SPEAKER_01: And uh one other actually a couple other games, Roger.
• 4:31
SPEAKER_01: There's a classic rivalry that's going to happen this weekend again.
• 4:34
  SPEAKER_01: That's Walton and Delhi.
• 4:36
SPEAKER_01: And also in the eight-player classification, these are two typical powerhouses in the eight-player um classification.
• 4:42
  SPEAKER_01: That's Lansing and Grotten.
• 4:44
SPEAKER_01: They're both one and zero coming into that game.
• 4:46
SPEAKER_01: So those should also be two interesting games.
• 4:49
SPEAKER_01: I want to share with our listeners also the state rankings throughout section four.
• 4:54
SPEAKER_01: Currently, uh coming into week two in the double A classification, Corning is ranked 22nd.
• 5:00
SPEAKER_01: In Class A, we have no um Section 14s right now.
• 5:04
SPEAKER_01: That's unusual because usually we have somebody in each classification.
• 5:07
SPEAKER_01: As you had mentioned, Roger, in class B, Maine Endwell comes into week two, ranked number one.
• 5:13
SPEAKER_01: In Class C, we've got three representatives in section four.
• 5:17
SPEAKER_01: That is Shenango Forks is coming in ranked sixth, Susquehanna Valley eight, and Waverly 14.
• 5:24
SPEAKER_01: So that tells you what kind of a struggle it's going to be to get out of that C classification to move on to the state level as well.
• 5:30
SPEAKER_01: And that's that's why we have, I think we've represented so strong in Section 4, is because our own uh in the state level, I should say, because we're so strong at the sectional level.
• 5:40
SPEAKER_01: In the Class D uh and D classification, Tioga is ranked second, and Harpersville Afton is 12th.
• 5:48
SPEAKER_01: Now in the eight-player classification, Spencer Vedeton is ranked second.
• 5:52
SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, Spencer Vedeton Candor is ranked second, and Lansing is ranked four.
• 5:57
SPEAKER_01: So as usual, Section 4 has a really good high representation in the rankings in in uh in the state.
• 6:05
SPEAKER_01: So, Roger, thanks again for your time.
• 6:07
  SPEAKER_01: We really appreciate that.
• 6:09
SPEAKER_01: And uh, we all look forward to week two and beyond in the 2021 Section 4 football season.
• 6:15
  SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Roger.
• 6:16
  SPEAKER_00: My pleasure.
