- 0:00Speaker 1: M hmmm. Close your eyes and make yourself comfortable. Take
- 0:40a big, deep breath into your nose and slowly and
- 0:47gently breathe out through your mouth. Take another deep breath
- 0:55in and slowly and gen breathe out through your mouth.
- 1:06One last time, deep breath in and slowly and gently
- 1:14breathe out through your mouth. Just feel the gentle rhythm
- 1:20of your breath as it goes in and out. Feel
- 1:26the steady beat of your heart, a gentle thump, thump, thump, thump.
- 1:34Just take a moment to listen to your heartbeat and
- 1:39just feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest
- 1:44as it moves in time with your heartbeat. So comforting.
- 1:53And with each beat of your heart you feel more
- 1:56and more relaxed, more and more calm, and more and
- 2:02more peaceful. And every time you breathe in, you are
- 2:08breathing in deep relaxation, and it's making you feel all
- 2:14warm and fuzzy inside. Now tense off your whole body
- 2:20really tightly. Pull your hands into fists and hold it
- 2:24for just a few seconds. One, two, three, and let go.
- 2:33Now feel your legs coming limp and soft as your
- 2:36muscles relax. Feel your whole body softening as you gently
- 2:44relax your body one more time, Tighten up all of
- 2:51your muscles in your body really tightly, pull your hands
- 2:55into fists and hold it for a few seconds. One, two, three,
- 3:03and let go. That's really really good, well done. Your
- 3:11body is now relaxed, and it's still so very still,
- 3:19so very very heavy, and it feels really nice. Now,
- 3:30imagine yourself in a magical forest with huge, beautiful trees
- 3:34all around you, and you find yourself standing on a narrow,
- 3:39winding path and there are heavenly smelling shrubs and flowers
- 3:44all along this path, and it smells wonderful, and you
- 3:50wonder where this path leads, so you decided to follow
- 3:55it and find out. After a few minutes, you see
- 4:01a sign with a big pointy arrow that says slime
- 4:04City this way. Now, feeling rather curious, you decide to
- 4:10follow it. As you reach the end of the pathway,
- 4:17you find yourself standing in front of a city, well
- 4:22sort of a city, well, a very surreal city, and
- 4:29this city is full of slugs, really yeah, slugs. Youre
- 4:37looking slugs though, with big smiles and very beautiful eyes,
- 4:43and they look very friendly, going about their busy day
- 4:47but they don't look a bit slimy though, But that's okay.
- 4:55You realize that every single one of them has a
- 4:59hat on. Yep, that's right, a hat on, and every
- 5:04single hat is different. No two hats are the same color.
- 5:11Some of them have flowers on them, whilst some of
- 5:14them have feathers stuck in them. Some of them have
- 5:17spots on them, and others well, they've got stripes on them,
- 5:21and zig zags and dotty things and little flowers sticking
- 5:25on them, all kinds of things really, and they are
- 5:29a very colorful bunch of slugs. You think that this
- 5:34place should be called hat City because there are so
- 5:37many hats. You decide to have a look around and
- 5:43see what this little city is like. As you walk,
- 5:49you've noticed a young slug and you overhear him playing
- 5:52in a shell and it is a beautiful sound, but
- 5:57it seems somehow sad. Really, he's all alone in a
- 6:02little side street. The slug stops playing and looks at
- 6:08you and gives you a shy little smile. So you
- 6:12go over to speak to him, and he tells you
- 6:16his name is Doug. So you introduce yourself to him
- 6:20and tell him your name. Doug tells you he is
- 6:25the only slug where he lives, Slime City who has arms,
- 6:31and he feels very sad and ashamed about that because
- 6:34he looks so different from everyone else. He tells you
- 6:39that sometimes the other slugs would make fun of him
- 6:43because he was so different, and this makes him very
- 6:47sad indeed, and it makes you feel a bit sad too.
- 6:51It's not very nice when others are being unkind. Yet
- 6:56Doug seemed very kind and caring, and he loves nothing
- 7:01more than to play his huge shell instruments, and he
- 7:06would hold it with both his hands and just blow gently.
- 7:10He shows you he puts the shell to his mouth
- 7:14and gently blows. The sound the shell makes is truly wonderful.
- 7:23It's so peaceful, so calm and to listen to. But
- 7:28Doug kept it all to himself. He just said it
- 7:31made him feel a little better when he was sad
- 7:33and lonely. But you tell him how amazing and talented
- 7:39he is, and his little face lights up with a grin,
- 7:45and lean towards him and give him a great big hug,
- 7:48and his eyes light up with pure joy and happiness.
- 7:54Doug has never had a hug before, and he tells
- 7:57you it's amazing because he's never loved before, and your
- 8:01hug helped him to feel real love. He made him
- 8:07feel so happy and he wants to hug the whole world.
- 8:10It's so wonderful. So he decided to help Doug with
- 8:16his newfound vocation to help every slug in Slime City
- 8:22to become a happy slug, and that starts with a
- 8:26great big hug.
- 8:27Speaker 2: For all of them.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So you and Doug go around Slime City, hugging anyone
- 8:36you can find, and everyone you both hug feels so
- 8:40very happy, so happy that they too want to hug everybody.
- 8:45How cool is that you and Doug are making their
- 8:50day very very happy. So for a little while, go
- 8:58with Doug and see who else you can find the hug.
- 9:02Maybe you can play the shell with Dug two. Maybe
- 9:06you can find your own shell and the two of
- 9:08you can play duets together. Busking around Slime City, Now
- 9:12that would be very cool. Maybe you can meet his
- 9:17friends and family and then you can tell him all
- 9:22about your friends and your family. So go on, spread
- 9:26the love. Now it's time for you to say you
- 12:20goodbyes and to return back to your own comfy bed.
- 12:27Doug thanks you so much for introducing him to hugs
- 12:32and how they can bring joy to the whole world.
- 12:35He says he will never stop hugging others now, and
- 12:38he really really hopes that you will come back and
- 12:42see him again. I think you will. So take a long,
- 12:49slow breath in through your nose and gently blow it
- 12:55out from your mouth. You feel so very tired now,
- 13:04so sleepy, so happy, and it feels like you don't
- 13:09want to open your eyes right now, you just want
- 13:12to rest them. Well, that's good. You think of your
- 13:17new friend Doug, and you are so grateful to have
- 13:21met him in his big, lovely shell. And one day
- 13:26soon you will go back to see him again. But
- 13:32right now you feel very peaceful and so very relaxed,
- 13:42so calm, so relaxed, so very very sleepy. You just
- 13:52want to sleep now, So to sleep, and remember you
- 14:00are safe, you are loved, and you are protected always
- 14:10night night.
