- 0:13Speaker 1: Right on sorry it cut like real there was no
- 0:18Speaker 1: fade but uh that's how we're doing it that's how
- 0:20Speaker 1: we're running it in 2026 so welcome to good to
- 0:25Speaker 1: know This is a podcast set up to do trivia
- 0:29Speaker 1: and get to know the comedians that are coming to
- 0:34Speaker 1: your area. Today is my first guest ever. She is
- 0:38Speaker 1: so funny, very lovely, great soul, great personality. I got
- 0:42Speaker 1: to meet her about almost a year now, right?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Lourdes Aion.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Yay. Hi. Hello. Thanks for having me on the show.
- 0:52Speaker 2: The first ever show. Oh, my God.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Yes.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Hey, this is going to be like where everybody else
- 0:58Speaker 2: needs to follow.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Right.
- 0:59Speaker 2: That's good. Or not. Don't do that.
- 1:04Speaker 1: We're setting the bar and we'll figure it out whether
- 1:07Speaker 1: it's low or high. No, that's what's up. So Lawrence,
- 1:13Speaker 1: where are you originally from?
- 1:15Speaker 2: Originally from Tijuana, Baja California, right across the border from
- 1:20Speaker 2: San Diego.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Oh, okay, right on.
- 1:21Speaker 2: That's where I was born and raised. Yes, born and raised.
- 1:25Speaker 1: And right now you're based out of Sac, Remento.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I'm based out of Sacramento, yes, right now. But right now,
- 1:30Speaker 2: this second, this instant, I'm actually in Mexico. Oh, really?
- 1:34Speaker 2: I'm in Mexico, yes. I'm in Colima, Mexico.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Okay, where is that for people that don't know geography?
- 1:41Speaker 2: Oh, yes, because I don't either. So if you know Jalisco, Guadalajara.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 1:48Speaker 2: That's probably the bigger town people know or are more
- 1:50Speaker 2: familiar with. Guadalajara, I'm two hours east?
- 1:54Speaker 3: West?
- 1:57Speaker 2: West.
- 1:58Speaker 1: See, I don't know.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I don't know where I'm at. It's just really hot
- 2:02Speaker 2: and humid over here. Oh, crazy.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I'm out to be in... I'm doing El Paso this week,
- 2:08Speaker 1: but I'm going to go take a walk over and
- 2:10Speaker 1: check out Juarez.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Oh, nice. Okay, don't get killed.
- 2:13Speaker 1: That's what everyone keeps saying.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I'm just... Wait, do you speak Spanish? No. No.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I'm one of those. But I'm taking someone with me, though.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I got Julian Gonzalez. El Gordo Mamon is going to
- 2:30Speaker 1: come with me. So, like, I went to your hometown
- 2:34Speaker 1: not too long ago.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Wait, sorry. You're taking El Gordo Mamon guy to Juarez? Yeah.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Do you speak Spanish? Yeah, yeah. I went to, I
- 2:44Speaker 1: was doing the mic drop in San Diego, and I
- 2:46Speaker 1: was like, yeah, I'm going to take a walk over
- 2:48Speaker 1: to To TJ because I haven't been there since I
- 2:50Speaker 1: was 18 and I was like, oh, it's really, really easy, really,
- 2:54Speaker 1: really fun and chill. I went during the day. And
- 2:57Speaker 1: then long ago I was in Tucson and I went
- 3:01Speaker 1: across the border over there too and checked it out.
- 3:02Speaker 1: So I've been trying to check out little border towns.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Oh, good.
- 3:04Speaker 1: But everyone keeps telling me, be careful. Everyone says be careful.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Is it that bad?
- 3:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's like the main narco hub. So I would
- 3:15Speaker 2: be careful. People try to say that it's Tijuana, but
- 3:17Speaker 2: it's not Tijuana. Tijuana is not the main one, but
- 3:21Speaker 2: it's in the running, but.
- 3:22Speaker 1: It's not the main one. It's in the running. As
- 3:27Speaker 1: a matter of fact, they're doing a real big push.
- 3:28Speaker 1: They're coming in 2026.
- 3:29Speaker 2: They're trying to elevate their narco profile.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Right now as we speak. That's so funny. And then,
- 3:37Speaker 1: so you were born and raised, and then did you
- 3:39Speaker 1: do stand-up? Did you start stand-up there and bilingually, or?
- 3:43Speaker 2: No, I didn't start stand-up in Tijuana or San Diego.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I am bilingual, and when I do audiences that speak Spanish,
- 3:52Speaker 2: I will do bilingual material. But I started doing comedy
- 3:55Speaker 2: four years ago, more seriously, nonstop. But I tried to
- 3:59Speaker 2: do it right before the COVID, the shutdown. And so
- 4:04Speaker 2: then that... I was on and off before that and
- 4:08Speaker 2: then couldn't do it, obviously, because of the shutdown. But
- 4:12Speaker 2: I got started years before that as well because on
- 4:17Speaker 2: a challenge. I was married at the time and my
- 4:20Speaker 2: ex-husband jokingly was like, oh, you're funny because I feel
- 4:23Speaker 2: like I've been funny all my life. So he confirmed, yes,
- 4:26Speaker 2: you're funny, but not funny enough for stand up. And
- 4:28Speaker 2: I took that as a real challenge and I tricked him.
- 4:32Speaker 2: And I did these comedy classes at Comedy Spot and
- 4:36Speaker 2: then told them I was working late every Monday. And
- 4:39Speaker 2: when they did the open mic, I went out there
- 4:42Speaker 2: and invited a bunch of my friends to come see
- 4:44Speaker 2: him being surprised by me going up on stage. And
- 4:48Speaker 2: I just came up on stage and he didn't know.
- 4:50Speaker 2: And that was it. Like, it just took that one
- 4:52Speaker 2: time for me to get super hooked. But then... Oh,
- 4:57Speaker 2: go ahead.
- 4:57Speaker 1: No, no, no. I'm just listening. I'm listening.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Oh, but then... Things didn't quite work out. And as
- 5:04Speaker 2: divorces are not fun, nothing was funny for a long time.
- 5:08Speaker 2: And then when I tried to jump back in, once
- 5:09Speaker 2: the divorce, I was kind of settled, the dust settled
- 5:12Speaker 2: from the divorce. I tried to jump back into comedy.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Then COVID took me out again. And so I waited
- 5:20Speaker 2: until things opened up and I got back in. And
- 5:22Speaker 2: the last four years has been nonstop.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Okay. So on your first time you went up, how
- 5:28Speaker 1: long did you have to do?
- 5:30Speaker 2: Uh, it was supposed to be five minutes, part of
- 5:33Speaker 2: the comedy spot in Sacramento open mic, but I ended
- 5:37Speaker 2: up doing like eight minutes because I brought like 50 people,
- 5:40Speaker 2: like I filled out the room and it was so
- 5:43Speaker 2: much fun because people really genuinely wanted to see a train.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Wreck of.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Their relationship, which it wasn't a train wreck at all.
- 5:52Speaker 2: He was actually very supportive. He was laughing. He was
- 5:55Speaker 2: very surprised. I told him it was a work event.
- 5:58Speaker 2: And he was like, why is your friend's parents at
- 6:00Speaker 2: your work event? And I was like, oh, I don't know.
- 6:03Speaker 2: You know, these politic types, because they work in politics.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And so anything is possible in a political environment. Yes.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And so... he believed it. He bought it. And when
- 6:13Speaker 2: he saw me coming up on stage, he was like,
- 6:14Speaker 2: oh my God. He thought honestly that I was just
- 6:18Speaker 2: winging it, just doing some sort of impulsive thing like
- 6:20Speaker 2: I normally would do when I was in the relationship,
- 6:23Speaker 2: like something fun. And he, but when he saw me
- 6:26Speaker 2: pull out notes, he was like, oh shoot, this is
- 6:28Speaker 2: something serious. And I had such a good time. It
- 6:30Speaker 2: was such a good night. It was a very, very
- 6:33Speaker 2: memorable day.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Right on. And So you're like a triple threat in stand-up, man.
- 6:37Speaker 1: You do stand-up, you do it bilingually, and you also
- 6:41Speaker 1: do it clean.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Yes, yes. I didn't start out clean. I'm embarrassed to say.
- 6:49Speaker 2: But as I'm doing it more and practicing more and
- 6:54Speaker 2: coming out with more material, I'm just naturally gravitating to
- 6:57Speaker 2: more cleaner topics because it feels more comfortable for me
- 7:01Speaker 2: to be able to speak on, on topics that are,
- 7:05Speaker 2: that are cleaner. And even some of the, some of
- 7:07Speaker 2: the material that I started off that maybe it was
- 7:08Speaker 2: a little dirty. I decided, okay, I'm going to clean
- 7:11Speaker 2: it up. I'm going to scrub this and I'm gonna
- 7:12Speaker 2: see how it can be delivered a little cleaner or
- 7:15Speaker 2: nuance to without, without being vulgar.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. And then, cause like you sit at open
- 7:20Speaker 1: mics or you sit in shows and it's just like,
- 7:22Speaker 1: all right, I'm, I'm over all the fucks already. I'm
- 7:26Speaker 1: over all the grotesque stuff that's about to come out.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Um, yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And then so, and so, uh, What is, I'm trying
- 7:34Speaker 1: to think on like something like from standup related, like
- 7:37Speaker 1: when you, when was your, did you have a bomb yet?
- 7:39Speaker 1: Or when's your first bomb?
- 7:42Speaker 2: My first bomb. Yeah, it was really ugly. I went
- 7:47Speaker 2: with Ellis Rodriguez, with Ellis Rodriguez to Washougal, Washington. So
- 7:54Speaker 2: up north past, towards, past Portland, Washington. I guess like North.
- 8:01Speaker 2: So we went on this long road trip. And when
- 8:05Speaker 2: I got there, it was like back country, sort of
- 8:09Speaker 2: like Redwood stuff, right? It's just like, it's up there.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And that was, I was very new. And he said,
- 8:14Speaker 2: how long can you do? And I don't ever do this.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I was like 20 minutes, 20 minutes of, oh my
- 8:24Speaker 2: god it was horrible so we get to this place
- 8:27Speaker 2: uh where he was doing the show and it was
- 8:28Speaker 2: a mexican restaurant of all things but when we when
- 8:31Speaker 2: i walked in there it was all like older white
- 8:34Speaker 2: conservative people and i only had honestly if i could
- 8:39Speaker 2: be really honest um i was i probably had like
- 8:42Speaker 2: seven minutes of okay material i told them 20 and
- 8:45Speaker 2: i had seven and i proceeded i proceeded to To
- 8:51Speaker 2: get on stage and I gave, I tried to do 20.
- 8:54Speaker 2: And then the guy's like, if it's not going well,
- 8:56Speaker 2: I'm going to cut you to 10. And then he
- 8:59Speaker 2: cut me to like, I don't know, seven, which is
- 9:01Speaker 2: appropriate because I started with some WAP joke. I was like,
- 9:05Speaker 2: Cardi B when her song WAP was hot. And I
- 9:08Speaker 2: started talking about WAP and Certified Freak and seven days
- 9:12Speaker 2: a week and keeping it wet and blah, blah, blah.
- 9:15Speaker 2: And this is like all this. All these white people.
- 9:20Speaker 2: The first thing I said to them was like, I
- 9:21Speaker 2: love the diversity in this room because everyone's wearing different
- 9:24Speaker 2: colored caps. That's what I said. And then they already
- 9:28Speaker 2: didn't like me for that. And then I started saying
- 9:30Speaker 2: all kinds of gross things. It was not good. And
- 9:33Speaker 2: I bombed. I felt that. It was hard for me
- 9:37Speaker 2: to recover from that. That was ugly. Yeah. There was
- 9:41Speaker 2: not only a bomb, like, oh, this is not funny.
- 9:43Speaker 2: It was like a bomb and also we hate you.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Get off stage.
- 9:47Speaker 1: It was double. We don't like you as a person
- 9:49Speaker 1: at all. I was like, oh, excuse me. That's so funny.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I've never heard a bomb described that way because there
- 9:59Speaker 1: is a like. like oh they bombed we feel bad
- 10:02Speaker 1: for them i'm so sorry but it's like.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Good yeah it was a bomb and we don't like
- 10:07Speaker 2: you good get out of here.
- 10:08Speaker 1: How about your best set what is it do you
- 10:09Speaker 1: what was like do you remember like the the like
- 10:12Speaker 1: when you were like oh my god that felt amazing.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Um Honestly, I'm going to say like the very first
- 10:20Speaker 2: time when I did the trick for my ex-husband and
- 10:24Speaker 2: I got on stage at a comedy spot, open mic,
- 10:31Speaker 2: because I think it's, well, obviously it helped that it
- 10:34Speaker 2: was all my friends. And so it was so novel
- 10:37Speaker 2: and it was, oh my gosh, she's doing this. And
- 10:39Speaker 2: everybody laughed. And I think the, I look back at
- 10:42Speaker 2: the set now and it wasn't horrible, but it was more,
- 10:46Speaker 2: it was very wordy. but it wasn't horrible. And I
- 10:49Speaker 2: hit all of the marks that I remember wanting to
- 10:51Speaker 2: hit and everybody really enjoyed themselves. And I felt like
- 10:55Speaker 2: this high, this incredible high when I walked off stage,
- 10:59Speaker 2: that I knew that there's nowhere in the world that
- 11:01Speaker 2: I could ever feel that. And I wanted to come
- 11:05Speaker 2: back to it. And I've never done drugs. I'm probably
- 11:08Speaker 2: one of the cleanest comedians that you'll ever find. It's sad.
- 11:11Speaker 2: I'll drink alcohol, not a lot, but I've never really
- 11:14Speaker 2: done drugs. I did I did my first edible about
- 11:18Speaker 2: three years ago, two years ago, maybe because I was
- 11:20Speaker 2: having issues sleeping. And I was convinced finally to do
- 11:24Speaker 2: an edible because I was having a crisis of just insomnia.
- 11:27Speaker 2: And it was the worst, worst experience of my life.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Like four firefighters later, I'm dying. It was one of
- 11:33Speaker 2: those things. Yeah. I stopped. Not only did I, I
- 11:38Speaker 2: will never touch that again, but I didn't drink for
- 11:41Speaker 2: like six months after that. Like it was really bad.
- 11:43Speaker 2: And so, so because I've never done drugs, when I
- 11:46Speaker 2: got off stage, that high was so incredible. I was like,
- 11:50Speaker 2: this is what it feels like to be high or,
- 11:53Speaker 2: or to be on some sort of like drug. And
- 11:56Speaker 2: I was like, I need more of this. And that's
- 11:58Speaker 2: the moment I was just so incredibly hooked. And that
- 12:02Speaker 2: was the highest moment ever. The very first time that
- 12:04Speaker 2: I went on stage and I thought I did really well,
- 12:06Speaker 2: but I didn't know technique or all the things that
- 12:10Speaker 2: we have to do now to be funny, to maintain
- 12:12Speaker 2: that funny. I don't know that it would have been
- 12:14Speaker 2: funny with that same material and with any other crowd
- 12:17Speaker 2: or at any other time, but that was probably the best,
- 12:20Speaker 2: the best.
- 12:21Speaker 1: That's awesome. Yeah. I got addicted. I'm sorry. This guy
- 12:24Speaker 1: is hitting his window.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Do you want to go outside? Go get out of here.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I have my dog and he's. Can you
- 12:35Speaker 1: hear the background? Money chance. No.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Okay.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I'll have to edit that out or I'll just keep it.
- 12:41Speaker 1: This is whatever. Okay.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Uh, okay.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Oh, here. Okay. Let's, uh, so that's good.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Great.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Good to know you. And, um, Oh, what happened? I
- 12:50Speaker 1: heard like something. Oh, whatever. Um, okay. So now we're
- 12:56Speaker 1: going to go to the question portion part of the show,
- 12:57Speaker 1: which is, uh, um, uh, good to know. Uh, cause
- 13:01Speaker 1: we just got done doing the get to know part.
- 13:03Speaker 1: So now, um, these are 10 questions. They're just random. Um, uh,
- 13:07Speaker 1: their trivia questions and pretty much, um, kind of what
- 13:10Speaker 1: we're going to do is since there's other podcasts, uh,
- 13:14Speaker 1: that are also in this network, uh, this week is
- 13:17Speaker 1: the first week and you'll probably be pinned against, uh,
- 13:19Speaker 1: the first week's guests for every club and you'll have
- 13:22Speaker 1: a score. It doesn't matter. No one wins anything. It's
- 13:25Speaker 1: kind of just a fun try and fucking thing. But
- 13:27Speaker 1: then also we, I guess I'm, I'm trying to stop cussing.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I don't need it like this. You can cuss on
- 13:32Speaker 1: this podcast. I just trying not to anymore because my
- 13:35Speaker 1: wife says I got a bad mouth. Um, so uh
- 13:40Speaker 1: okay all right are you ready for the questions yes
- 13:44Speaker 1: okay so um the first question is what is the
- 13:49Speaker 1: largest organ on the human body the skin the skin
- 13:55Speaker 1: boom dang right off the jump that's what's.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Up nice i hate trivia i'm horrible.
- 14:00Speaker 1: At it so good so good Um, I, it was
- 14:04Speaker 1: so funny cause it's like, yeah, I didn't even know
- 14:06Speaker 1: that was an organ. And I was like, oh, okay.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I guess it's like, oh yeah. The first one, I
- 14:09Speaker 1: just looked it up and I was like, oh, interesting.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Um, and the biggest sexual organ. What?
- 14:16Speaker 1: The skin is? Oh, the brain. Oh, okay. The brain,
- 14:19Speaker 1: the brain. Okay.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Of course. Don't be nasty.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I was like thinking, I was like skin too.
- 14:26Speaker 2: I was like, okay.
- 14:30Speaker 1: That's why I didn't think– actually, I didn't think of
- 14:32Speaker 1: that one because I was like, I don't know if
- 14:33Speaker 1: that's the biggest one.
- 14:35Speaker 2: No.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I was like, is the skin still again?
- 14:38Speaker 2: No.
- 14:39Speaker 1: What was it? Oh, okay. Second question. This is– it's
- 14:44Speaker 1: going to be in the sports room. How many sports
- 14:47Speaker 1: teams does California have?
- 14:50Speaker 2: Sports teams does California have? All of them? Like basketball, football, soccer?
- 14:56Speaker 1: Yeah, all of them. Yeah, all the major league sports.
- 15:00Speaker 2: God, we had two leaving. Do we have... I'm not
- 15:05Speaker 2: even going to sports. Four?
- 15:06Speaker 1: That's cool. That's a cool effect that you put up there.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I like that.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Nikki.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Four. No. Higher.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Higher than four teams?
- 15:19Speaker 1: I think we already have four football teams by themselves.
- 15:24Speaker 1: But they left.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Didn't two leave?
- 15:26Speaker 1: I know that there's the Niners, the Rams... The Chargers.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Oh, I forgot about those guys. See, I'm... All the
- 15:35Speaker 2: Niners fans are going to hate me.
- 15:40Speaker 1: No, I mean, like, even, like, baseball teams, football teams.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Oh, baseball teams, too.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Everything, yeah. All the California teams.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Oh, all of them. Oh, God. All the California teams. Baseball, soccer, football, basketball. Okay,
- 15:53Speaker 2: so I'll guess basketball. I'll say.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Three basketball teams i'll say football teams i don't know
- 16:02Speaker 2: another three or four i have no idea i'm just
- 16:04Speaker 2: adding i'm gonna say uh baseball wait are we doing
- 16:08Speaker 2: minor league.
- 16:09Speaker 1: No no just majors okay.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Just majors okay i don't know two or three.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Okay i'm gonna say 18 18 you're close you're close
- 16:19Speaker 1: do you want me to give you the answer or
- 16:20Speaker 1: do you want to try it again yes the answer
- 16:22Speaker 1: is 21 21 all together we have 21 even like
- 16:27Speaker 1: hockey teams too and stuff like that but yeah who's
- 16:29Speaker 1: your favorite teams favorite teams yeah do you have favorite
- 16:34Speaker 1: teams at all for sports.
- 16:36Speaker 2: No I don't really watch sports but if I have
- 16:38Speaker 2: to I'll be a Kings fan like when they turn.
- 16:40Speaker 1: On the light the beam yeah I'm like that's neat
- 16:45Speaker 1: they won like that's cute yeah but.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I'm zero zero uh sports fan i grew up in
- 16:53Speaker 2: with i with a father actually that didn't do sports
- 16:56Speaker 2: other than boxing so maybe boxing.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I like boxing yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Yeah and my dad didn't do sports didn't like soccer
- 17:03Speaker 2: interestingly enough we were in mexico and he didn't do
- 17:05Speaker 2: soccer didn't do football didn't understand any of that um
- 17:08Speaker 2: but loved watching um oh did i lose you No.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 17:14Speaker 2: There it is.
- 17:14Speaker 1: No, there you are.
- 17:15Speaker 2: But loved boxing. So I watched boxing growing up. And
- 17:18Speaker 2: I even did some boxing for a little bit as well.
- 17:20Speaker 2: It was a lot of fun. Until I got punched
- 17:22Speaker 2: in the face and I was like, that's not so fun.
- 17:24Speaker 2: The first time I got punched in the face, even
- 17:30Speaker 2: though I was wearing the mask, I didn't know if
- 17:32Speaker 2: to laugh or cry. Or like, I didn't know.
- 17:35Speaker 1: It was such a shock.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I wasn't sure. It was like, do I laugh? Do
- 17:39Speaker 2: I cry? Am I mad? I'm not sure what I
- 17:42Speaker 2: do here. And then the coach started laughing because I
- 17:46Speaker 2: was just stunned. And he was like, you're going to
- 17:48Speaker 2: get your ass kicked. You have to get in there
- 17:50Speaker 2: and fight more. So maybe boxing would be more of
- 17:53Speaker 2: a sport that I will follow more so than the
- 17:57Speaker 2: team sports.
- 17:58Speaker 1: That's just so interesting you said that because I've been
- 18:00Speaker 1: showing my wife's daughter a lot of old school boxing.
- 18:04Speaker 1: And she's getting really into it. And I'm like, oh,
- 18:06Speaker 1: if you think this is a great fight, let me
- 18:08Speaker 1: show you this other one. I showed her Mickey Ward,
- 18:10Speaker 1: and then I showed her some Mike Tyson punch-outs and
- 18:14Speaker 1: stuff like that, and Diego Corrales and Camacho. But she's
- 18:18Speaker 1: really into it now.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Okay. Good.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Okay, so for question number three, this is a geography question.
- 18:27Speaker 1: What is the capital of Florida?
- 18:31Speaker 2: Florida?
- 18:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Capital florida what did you say california capital but why
- 18:40Speaker 4: florida's such a whack crazy state i don't even pay
- 18:43Speaker 4: attention to it unless there's some somebody's eating someone's brains.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Out um yeah yeah weren't they doing that somebody was
- 18:51Speaker 2: like on crazy meth and they were like trying to
- 18:53Speaker 2: bite people's faces off a long time.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Ago yeah he was like eating yeah he killed his
- 18:57Speaker 1: neighbor or something like that i do remember that case
- 18:59Speaker 1: yeah and he was eating his face or oh.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Man yeah Fuck.
- 19:03Speaker 1: I remember that.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I remember what it was. Uh, Florida. Is it Tampa?
- 19:07Speaker 2: I'm just guessing.
- 19:08Speaker 1: No, no, it's not Tampa. Uh, it is. I'll give
- 19:12Speaker 1: you the answer. Uh, Tallahassee.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Tallahassee.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I never would have guessed that.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Yeah. I was like, it's such a, yeah, it's such a,
- 19:21Speaker 1: it's a weird one. Here's a, here's another, like a
- 19:23Speaker 1: deep cut question, uh, for comedy fans and comedy enthusiasts. Well,
- 19:27Speaker 1: I mean, cause of this, uh, since for this, the
- 19:29Speaker 1: mic drop comedy network, um, The Mic Drop Comedy Club
- 19:34Speaker 1: is in association with what comedy festival?
- 19:38Speaker 2: Butt Comedy Festival?
- 19:40Speaker 1: What comedy festival?
- 19:43Speaker 2: Oh, what comedy festival?
- 19:45Speaker 1: I thought you were.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Giving me a statement. I'm sorry. Sorry, my comedy is associated.
- 19:52Speaker 1: With a comedy festival. Big Time. Yes, Big Time, correct.
- 19:58Speaker 1: For everyone wanting the mysterious laughter, that is our engineer, Nicky.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I'm so sorry about that. No, it's okay.
- 20:07Speaker 3: It's okay.
- 20:07Speaker 1: I just want to... Look at.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Boom.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Hi, Nikki.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Okay, if I'm making her laugh, I'm in good company.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Yeah. So, okay. Next question is an entertainment question. And
- 20:20Speaker 1: it is, how many seasons of SNL are there?
- 20:26Speaker 2: SNL seasons? Didn't they just do 25? No, it's more
- 20:30Speaker 2: than that.
- 20:31Speaker 1: They did an anniversary, but it wasn't 25.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Yeah, they didn't... No, it wasn't 25 because.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I'm 53 and they've been going on before I was born,
- 20:40Speaker 2: I think. Or right about when I was born. Is
- 20:43Speaker 2: it 50 years?
- 20:45Speaker 1: Close. Very, very close.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Okay. Is it 53? No. Close though. It's in between.
- 20:52Speaker 1: 52?
- 20:53Speaker 3: No.
- 20:53Speaker 1: One more down. Dang it.
- 20:54Speaker 2: 51? Yeah. 51.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Oh, okay, okay, okay.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Oh, by the way.
- 21:06Speaker 2: So I was two when that happened.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Have you been able to join the festival, the Big Pine?
- 21:14Speaker 2: No, I applied last year and didn't get in.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 21:17Speaker 2: But then I got into the Sacktown Comedy Get Down,
- 21:20Speaker 2: which is....
- 21:23Speaker 1: In association.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Also a cousin, yeah, a cousin. In association. But I
- 21:28Speaker 2: was planning on applying for it again this year, see
- 21:30Speaker 2: if I can get in.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Yeah, because it's coming April. It's coming up. the second
- 21:34Speaker 1: to the seventh or something like that this month. It's
- 21:36Speaker 1: a chamber. Um, let me see. So, okay. We're on
- 21:39Speaker 1: our sixth question. And question number six is, Oh, uh,
- 21:45Speaker 1: I don't know why we put this on there, but
- 21:46Speaker 1: this is funny. Uh, cause it's all over the place.
- 21:48Speaker 1: These questions, um, name two branches of the government.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Cause there's three, two, two branches that you have the
- 21:57Speaker 2: executive branch. Yeah. And the, and the, uh, Executive and
- 22:05Speaker 2: why am I forgetting the other one? Legislative? Yes.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Boom. Yeah. I was like, she's in politics. She's probably
- 22:11Speaker 1: going to get this up.
- 22:12Speaker 4: I work in this shit.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Really, girl?
- 22:17Speaker 1: Do you know the third one? Just for shits and giggles.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Executive, legislative, and judicial? Yes.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Yes. Okay. So bad.
- 22:30Speaker 2: What?
- 22:33Speaker 1: So bad she's like edit that out edit that out.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Okay cut that one out I'm gonna get fired I'm gonna.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Be like damn basic basic um here's another entertainment question
- 22:45Speaker 1: number seven uh what year did the Matrix premiere.
- 22:49Speaker 2: What year did the Matrix premiere uh oh damn it
- 22:54Speaker 2: I know it's in the 90s yeah.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Are you a big movie person or.
- 22:56Speaker 2: No uh I like movies um I want to say 1992? No.
- 23:02Speaker 1: It was 1999, the very last year.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Of the 90s. I thought it was too early.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Really a good year for good movies. A ton came
- 23:16Speaker 1: out in 99. It was ridiculous. Okay, so question number eight,
- 23:22Speaker 1: music question. This is funny. I'm reading these questions and
- 23:25Speaker 1: I'm like, that's so fun. They're so all over the place.
- 23:28Speaker 1: What was Tupac's first album?
- 23:32Speaker 2: Tupac's first album. Uh, dang. Is it, is that where
- 23:41Speaker 2: he came out with California love or is that before
- 23:44Speaker 2: that album?
- 23:44Speaker 1: It's way before that.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, okay. Then I don't know.
- 23:50Speaker 1: You don't know. It's so weird. Cause it's called, it's
- 23:54Speaker 1: the album's called Tupacalypse now. Like Tupacalypse.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Now.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Yeah. It's, uh, that album had like, um, I get
- 24:03Speaker 1: around on it. I get around. Jack up.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Jack up. Yeah. I'm a Tupac fan too, but I'm
- 24:10Speaker 2: really bad with names.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I'm the worst. It's so funny because it's such a
- 24:14Speaker 1: weird name. I guess it's a play on the movie
- 24:17Speaker 1: Apocalypse Now, but that's such a weird name.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Tupacalypse Now. Okay.
- 24:21Speaker 1: So, all right. Question number nine. Who's the host of
- 24:25Speaker 1: The Price is Right currently?
- 24:36Speaker 2: Is it the guy that used to wear the glasses
- 24:38Speaker 2: and he doesn't wear them anymore? Yes.
- 24:39Speaker 1: The TV guy?
- 24:40Speaker 2: Yes. Ah, what is his name? I just told you
- 24:44Speaker 2: I'm really mad with names.
- 24:45Speaker 1: He's a comedian.
- 24:47Speaker 2: He's a comedian and he used to also host the
- 24:49Speaker 2: Whose Line Is It Anyway? Yes. But I don't know
- 24:53Speaker 2: his name. I forget his name. What was his name?
- 24:57Speaker 2: Dang it, I'm going to miss it just on not
- 24:59Speaker 2: knowing names. I'm the worst with names.
- 25:02Speaker 1: It's Drew Carey. Drew Carey? Yeah, Drew Carey.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Okay, I knew it was Drew. See, before you said Drew,
- 25:10Speaker 2: I said.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Okay, Drew.
- 25:13Speaker 2: And I confused it with Jim Carrey. You see, I'm
- 25:15Speaker 2: the worst. I'm the worst. I shouldn't even be in politics.
- 25:18Speaker 2: I shouldn't even be in politics.
- 25:20Speaker 1: She's over here. I'm making up the laws and stuff. Okay,
- 25:23Speaker 1: so here's final Jeopardy question. Boom. And you could wager
- 25:26Speaker 1: your points. You have how many points you have? Okay, oh,
- 25:28Speaker 1: we see it right there. Boom. You have five. Can
- 25:31Speaker 1: you see your score too, yeah?
- 25:33Speaker 2: Yes, yes.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Okay, boom. Okay, you have Five, how many of those
- 25:37Speaker 1: do you want to wager to think if you think
- 25:40Speaker 1: you might get the last question? Or you can wager
- 25:42Speaker 1: none and still go for the question.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Do you know what this feels like? This feels like
- 25:48Speaker 2: when I was a kid, we used to play Loteria
- 25:49Speaker 2: all the time. Do you know Loteria? Yeah, yeah. Mexican bingo.
- 25:53Speaker 2: And I would always win. when there was no money
- 25:57Speaker 2: on the table. I mean, I would always lose. Yeah.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I would always win when there was no money on
- 26:02Speaker 2: the table. And the moment I felt good and then
- 26:04Speaker 2: we put money on the table, I lost every single time.
- 26:08Speaker 2: So I'm going to go ahead and do all five.
- 26:12Speaker 1: All five.
- 26:12Speaker 2: All five.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Yes.
- 26:14Speaker 2: I'm a wager off. I'm feeling, I'm feeling, I'm feeling
- 26:16Speaker 2: the spirit. I'm feeling the spirit.
- 26:17Speaker 1: That's how we start this podcast up. Hell yeah.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:22Speaker 1: So the last final Jeopardy question is, um, So Quentin
- 26:25Speaker 1: Tarantino put out a list of his top favorite– his
- 26:29Speaker 1: personal top favorite movies for the 21st century. What was
- 26:32Speaker 1: his number one favorite movie for the– yeah, it was
- 26:35Speaker 1: a big controversy because he had called Paul Dano a
- 26:39Speaker 1: bad actor and stuff like that. So it was a
- 26:40Speaker 1: big controversy in the past like two weeks, three weeks.
- 26:44Speaker 1: But his number one– he listed 20 of his favorite
- 26:47Speaker 1: top of the 21st century. Do you know his number one?
- 26:53Speaker 2: His number one. Dang. Can I go back and not
- 26:57Speaker 2: wager anymore? I like to amend my original wager, please.
- 27:07Speaker 1: You're like, no more bets.
- 27:12Speaker 2: What was it? I just saw the article, too, and
- 27:14Speaker 2: I forgot the name because there is a name involved.
- 27:19Speaker 2: The name of the movie. Can I phone a friend?
- 27:21Speaker 1: Sure.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Do we have to? Friends found?
- 27:25Speaker 1: We could. Why not?
- 27:27Speaker 2: Do you know who Quentin Tarantino's top, his list of
- 27:31Speaker 2: top movies? And he talks shit to David Plano, Dan Plano.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Paul, Paul, Paul Dano. David Plano.
- 27:41Speaker 2: I told you.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I'm bad at this. David Plano.
- 27:48Speaker 2: He talks shit about Paul Dano, Quentin Tarantino. And he
- 27:52Speaker 2: put out a list of his 20 best movies. What
- 27:54Speaker 2: was his number one on the list? Who's Paul Dano?
- 27:58Speaker 1: Paul Dano is... He was in The Batman. He was
- 28:01Speaker 1: the Riddler in The New Batman.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Oh, he was the Riddler in The Batman. Did Paul
- 28:07Speaker 2: Dano come out in that movie?
- 28:09Speaker 1: Yeah. No, he's been in a ton of stuff. He's
- 28:11Speaker 1: in There Will Be Blood. He's in Little Miss Sunshine.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Which one? Which one? Oh, okay. No, I'm saying, did
- 28:21Speaker 2: Paul Dano come out in the movie that he rated
- 28:24Speaker 2: number one?
- 28:25Speaker 1: No.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Oh, okay. Well, I'm going to assume that it was
- 28:30Speaker 2: his own movie that he considered.
- 28:34Speaker 1: He's like, mine.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Like, he really likes himself and the work that he does.
- 28:38Speaker 2: And he also hasn't done a lot of movies because
- 28:40Speaker 2: he takes a long time because he wants him to
- 28:42Speaker 2: be perfect, blah, blah.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Pulp Fiction.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Pulp Fiction.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Oh, I'm so sorry. It was Black Hawk Down.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Black Hawk Down. Black Hawk Down. I know.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Really? Yeah, that's what he said his.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Favorite movie was. That's a horrible movie. Well, it's not horrible.
- 28:57Speaker 2: It's just not like a number one. Yeah. I wouldn't
- 29:01Speaker 2: pick that as number one. I would pick Pulp Fiction
- 29:03Speaker 2: as number one.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you would think. But yeah, when I seen it too,
- 29:07Speaker 1: I was like, really? Because I don't even think that's
- 29:09Speaker 1: the best war movie. No, no.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I would have even picked Siri over it.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the one where the plane falls and then
- 29:19Speaker 2: the guy's lost and they're trying to pull him out
- 29:21Speaker 2: of wherever they're in Africa and Ethiopia or wherever they were.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a true story. Afghanistan? Yeah. But it
- 29:26Speaker 1: was like, yeah, yeah. I mean, it's good, but it's
- 29:28Speaker 1: not like, you know, I don't know. I've seen it once.
- 29:32Speaker 1: But yeah.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I was, I don't want to say anything because
- 29:37Speaker 2: I don't want military people to be mad at me
- 29:38Speaker 2: and they're like, we're not going to go see her show.
- 29:40Speaker 2: because she doesn't... She.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Doesn't respect the fucking Corps. She doesn't respect the military.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I know it's based on a true story. That's my boyfriend, Ben.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Do you want to come up? He doesn't want to
- 29:54Speaker 2: be on camera. He doesn't want to be on camera.
- 29:56Speaker 1: He's a Raider fan too, right?
- 29:58Speaker 2: He's a Raider fan. So we're in Mexico. I have
- 30:02Speaker 2: to tell you, Carlos, we're in Mexico and we're both
- 30:06Speaker 2: fluent Spanish speakers. And if you're in Mexico, you got
- 30:09Speaker 2: to speak English. I'm Spanish because you'll get charged more.
- 30:15Speaker 2: You get an American tax if you're out there. And
- 30:18Speaker 2: so we get to this coffee shop and we order
- 30:20Speaker 2: a coffee and he comes in there talking English. He's
- 30:24Speaker 2: hella American walking in there, blah, blah, blah, blah. Americano, Americano,
- 30:28Speaker 2: Americano speaking like English. And then I'm looking at him like,
- 30:31Speaker 2: come on, like I'm speaking in Spanish. Yeah. And so
- 30:37Speaker 2: we ordered four coffees at this place and then they
- 30:40Speaker 2: give us the bill. And it's 435 pesos, 65 pesos.
- 30:45Speaker 2: I was like, that sounds like a lot of pesos.
- 30:49Speaker 2: And I think the dollar is like 17 pesos per dollar.
- 30:55Speaker 2: It turns out that it was like $ 27 for four coffees.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Yes. And I was like, why did.
- 31:03Speaker 1: You do that?
- 31:03Speaker 2: And I said, why? I know we look Mexican. He
- 31:06Speaker 2: looks Mexican. But here we look American. And then we
- 31:09Speaker 2: go to America and they're like, get ice on them,
- 31:13Speaker 2: that kind of thing.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Damn if you do, damn if you don't.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Wear ice like targets, but if we're down here, they're
- 31:21Speaker 2: like Americanos, you get a text. And so he said,
- 31:24Speaker 2: how do I look, how do I manage to look
- 31:26Speaker 2: more Mexican? I said, first and foremost, don't wear your
- 31:29Speaker 2: fucking Raiders hat. How's that?
- 31:31Speaker 1: How about you.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Don't wear a Raiders hat and then wear a t-shirt
- 31:37Speaker 2: like Yeah. And he was wearing a printed tee. And
- 31:40Speaker 2: I said, don't wear a printed tee either. It's got
- 31:42Speaker 2: to be either nothing or do some other team like
- 31:45Speaker 2: Chivas or America or whatever soccer team Mexico likes. Um,
- 31:49Speaker 2: and don't wear a Raiders hat. And, and well, but
- 31:52Speaker 2: more importantly, just don't speak English. How's that?
- 31:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Cause when I seen you guys, uh, at the Christmas, uh,
- 31:57Speaker 1: party at the labs, I was like, uh, saying bye.
- 31:59Speaker 1: And then I seen it. Yeah. It was funny. Cause
- 32:04Speaker 1: I'll just really quick too, before we go. Um, I
- 32:07Speaker 1: have a cousin, and we're in Seattle, and I was visiting,
- 32:10Speaker 1: and I had an A's hat on. And I just
- 32:16Speaker 1: seen some guy have an A's hat, and I looked
- 32:18Speaker 1: at him, and I just smiled, and I said, what's up, man?
- 32:20Speaker 1: How it goes? And we were just instant connection. And
- 32:24Speaker 1: her friend was like, really? Is that really how dudes are?
- 32:27Speaker 1: You just made a friend just because you guys have
- 32:28Speaker 1: the same hat? And I go, because we're A's fans,
- 32:31Speaker 1: and we're Raiders fans, and we know what it's like
- 32:32Speaker 1: to feel terrible.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Throughout the season yes yeah yes we bonded instantly of
- 32:40Speaker 3: pain so yeah she's like that's interesting but he's loyal
- 32:44Speaker 3: yeah same here same here.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Yeah my man's loyal so I know he'll be here
- 32:49Speaker 2: no matter.
- 32:49Speaker 1: What yeah how no matter how bad.
- 32:54Speaker 2: It gets no matter how bad it gets.
- 32:57Speaker 1: We've been through a two and 16 season we know
- 33:00Speaker 1: we know struggle this ain't shit girl this is just
- 33:03Speaker 1: winter Um, so, uh, with that being said, it was,
- 33:07Speaker 1: it was awesome having you on. Do you, could you, uh,
- 33:10Speaker 1: tell us all your, uh, uh, your, your, your connections are, um.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Plug yourself. Shows. Yes. Oh my God. So this month
- 33:18Speaker 2: and next month in March, it's going to be busy,
- 33:20Speaker 2: crazy for me. I'm really excited. Cause this is the
- 33:22Speaker 2: first time that I'm doing traveling out. So I'm doing
- 33:26Speaker 2: like this, like national tour, which is silly because I'm
- 33:29Speaker 2: like four years in, but I, off of World Series
- 33:33Speaker 2: of Comedy, I was able to meet a bunch of
- 33:34Speaker 2: people who liked my comedy. I was a finalist, didn't win,
- 33:37Speaker 2: but I was a finalist and, um, connected with some
- 33:41Speaker 2: really good folks and they're trying to get this tour
- 33:44Speaker 2: out called Culture Therapy. And the first round of shows
- 33:48Speaker 2: are going to be in Indianapolis, Chicago, and Tennessee. So
- 33:53Speaker 2: I don't know how that's going to go, but I
- 33:55Speaker 2: do have a show, Alaskan Limited, which is my all-time
- 33:58Speaker 2: favorite club forever and ever. Um, That's a club that
- 34:02Speaker 2: I aspire to go and perform at. I was like,
- 34:06Speaker 2: I'm going to get really good. And when I get
- 34:07Speaker 2: really good, that's where I want to go perform. And
- 34:09Speaker 2: it's been such an incredible experience just performing at Laughs
- 34:13Speaker 2: Unlimited because it's really the club that made me work
- 34:16Speaker 2: hard outside so that I can be worthy of performing or,
- 34:21Speaker 2: you know, on the stage. So I'll be at Laughs
- 34:23Speaker 2: Unlimited at the end of this month in January 22nd,
- 34:27Speaker 2: 30th and 31st. And then there's this really interesting place
- 34:32Speaker 2: called Birds of Paradise. It's a tiki house. Do you
- 34:35Speaker 2: know this? So there's like this whole thing where people
- 34:40Speaker 2: have tiki houses and then people do tiki house runs
- 34:47Speaker 2: or whatever. Like they just go to like private person's
- 34:50Speaker 2: home and they turn it into a tiki house and
- 34:53Speaker 2: then people just do these crawls, tiki house crawls.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Like pub crawls, but tiki houses.
- 35:00Speaker 1: That's interesting.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah. So you just Uber from neighborhood to neighborhood
- 35:05Speaker 2: and these tiki houses and you walk in and it's like,
- 35:08Speaker 2: you're in like some paradise. You're like in Tahiti or
- 35:11Speaker 2: you're in, I don't know, Hawaii or you're in whatever.
- 35:14Speaker 2: And this place, the, the owners saw me performing at, uh,
- 35:19Speaker 2: at a show, I think at comedy spot. And they're like,
- 35:22Speaker 2: Oh my God, you're so funny. You should come perform
- 35:24Speaker 2: at our house. And then I was first kind of like,
- 35:27Speaker 2: what is this place? It's a house and you guys
- 35:29Speaker 2: want me to be there? So I was kind of,
- 35:30Speaker 2: you know, everyone has their own little venue. So I
- 35:32Speaker 2: went to go check it out. I didn't know what
- 35:34Speaker 2: to expect. And when I walked in there, it was like,
- 35:36Speaker 2: oh my God, this is beautiful. And so I'll be
- 35:39Speaker 2: performing there in early February. That's February 7th. That's in Sacramento.
- 35:46Speaker 2: But then I'm excited about the shows that I'll be
- 35:49Speaker 2: doing in Indianapolis at The Wit on February 14th. And
- 35:54Speaker 2: then on 13th of February, before that, I'll be in
- 35:57Speaker 2: Chicago at Laugh Factory.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Oh, nice.
- 35:59Speaker 2: And then, yeah, then driving to The Wit in Indianapolis.
- 36:02Speaker 2: And then I'll be back, let me see, that is
- 36:05Speaker 2: on February 27th at Blue Ridge Comedy in Tennessee.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Oh, nice. The Blue Ridge. That sounds nice. And you'll
- 36:13Speaker 1: be at the Mic Drop on, what is it? June 24th.
- 36:17Speaker 2: June 24th.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Yes, I almost forgot.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Thank you. San Diego, Mic Drop, June 24th. Oh my God,
- 36:25Speaker 2: Mic Drop has been so kind and so incredibly generous
- 36:31Speaker 2: with me in allowing me to fill in for a
- 36:34Speaker 2: time that I was featuring for Ellis Rodriguez, but he
- 36:37Speaker 2: couldn't make it last minute. And I said, well, I'm
- 36:40Speaker 2: still available. And let me close out your show. And
- 36:43Speaker 2: they said, well, okay, if you can close it, you
- 36:46Speaker 2: want to close out the show. Um, make sure you
- 36:48Speaker 2: get 25 people here. And, uh, if you can, we'll
- 36:51Speaker 2: move forward with that. And, uh, they gave me the
- 36:54Speaker 2: small room and I sold it out.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Nice.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Hell yeah. Yes. And I was really, yes. And they
- 36:59Speaker 2: were so excited. I was so excited. And then they, um,
- 37:02Speaker 2: invited me back and I came back last December, sold
- 37:05Speaker 2: out another, another, the small room, the gold.
- 37:07Speaker 1: No, no. Give me the gold room.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Yeah. But then somebody canceled or moved from the big room.
- 37:13Speaker 2: And so I went into the big room and sold
- 37:16Speaker 2: more than, I think I sold almost like 100 tickets
- 37:20Speaker 2: for the big room. Congratulations.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Thank you. And I was really excited about it.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:25Speaker 2: And then they're like, come back again. And I was like, okay.
- 37:29Speaker 2: They said, come back and we'll give you two shows,
- 37:32Speaker 2: which I was really happy about. They said 7.30 and
- 37:33Speaker 2: 10 o'clock. And I was really worried about that 10
- 37:37Speaker 2: o'clock show because I was like, you guys know how
- 37:39Speaker 2: old I am, right? Like my cohort is asleep by 10.
- 37:43Speaker 2: So I was concerned, but I was able to sell
- 37:45Speaker 2: out just about, sold out definitely the first show. I
- 37:48Speaker 2: was like two tickets, two or three tickets short of
- 37:50Speaker 2: selling out the second show at 10 o'clock. So I've
- 37:52Speaker 2: been doing really well in San Diego. I have a
- 37:53Speaker 2: really good base.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Good stuff. That's so good to hear. I'm so glad.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Good things happening to good people.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Yeah. So June 24th.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Yeah, so right on. So thank you. Once again, thank
- 38:03Speaker 1: you for coming out. Thank you for accepting the invite.
- 38:06Speaker 1: And we look forward to seeing you. And I look
- 38:08Speaker 1: forward to seeing you too on the road and shit
- 38:09Speaker 1: like that.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you, Carlos. I appreciate you calling. Greetings from Mexico.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Yeah, right on.
- 38:16Speaker 2: And good luck to you, Juarez.
- 38:17Speaker 1: All right. All right, you guys. You guys have a
- 38:19Speaker 1: good night.
