- 0:21Speaker 1: Ninety seven. That is the number today I want you
- 0:26Speaker 1: to know on the Alex Garrett podcast network. Ninety seven.
- 0:32Speaker 1: By the way, that was the Piano guys. Ninety seven
- 0:36Speaker 1: hostages still in captivity. And while I really appreciate VP
- 0:44Speaker 1: Harris issuing a statement and we'll get to that today,
- 0:48Speaker 1: and I appreciate that there has been marches for peace
- 0:52Speaker 1: and freedom to mark today's horrible anniversary, can we just
- 0:58Speaker 1: acknowledge one thing this year, a year later, that Israel
- 1:04Speaker 1: was attacked and it was a terror attack on October seventh,
- 1:09Speaker 1: twenty twenty three. Can we, a year later, collectively say
- 1:16Speaker 1: this was a terror attack on Israel because there are
- 1:22Speaker 1: factions in this country that don't want you to believe that.
- 1:29Speaker 1: There are factions that want you to believe that this
- 1:31Speaker 1: was you know this, that and the other, and the
- 1:35Speaker 1: IDF missed this, and you know it was it was
- 1:38Speaker 1: all planned. But I just don't believe Israel saw this coming.
- 1:45Speaker 1: What happened on October seventh, twenty twenty three. I remember
- 1:52Speaker 1: I was commuting into my radio station AM nine something,
- 1:55Speaker 1: the answer to work on Saturday morning shows, and the
- 1:58Speaker 1: news came out that it was attacked by Hamas. I
- 2:06Speaker 1: remember it clear as day, and it impacted me right away.
- 2:15Speaker 1: But what's happened in the year since is more eye
- 2:19Speaker 1: opening than I ever really thought, because there have been
- 2:23Speaker 1: people I thought were friends that I basically said, why
- 2:27Speaker 1: are you defending Israel? Why you know? Why why are
- 2:33Speaker 1: you I wouldn't go so far as they why are
- 2:36Speaker 1: you mourning the losses? But they basically said, you have
- 2:41Speaker 1: no idea of the history. You're a loser, You've always
- 2:45Speaker 1: been one. I got some hate mail for that standing
- 2:50Speaker 1: up for Israel because we couldn't at the time collectively
- 2:57Speaker 1: say that was a terror attack. And Hamas probably knew
- 3:03Speaker 1: there would be division amongst how we would react in
- 3:06Speaker 1: the Western world. That's why they did it. And they
- 3:11Speaker 1: knew that as much as President Bin's been saying it
- 3:14Speaker 1: to Israel's faces, they would protect them. They really haven't,
- 3:19Speaker 1: ye know, Alex I said millions of dollars. Yeah, Well,
- 3:21Speaker 1: if they were having intel, I'm sure they could have
- 3:28Speaker 1: stopped Hamas as well. It was the very same playbook
- 3:33Speaker 1: of well, there's going to be a small incursion of Ukraine,
- 3:35Speaker 1: and they never stopped the invasion and incursion on Ukraine
- 3:39Speaker 1: when it came to Russia, I'm sure they knew Hamas
- 3:43Speaker 1: was about to attack Israel, and they didn't stop it.
- 3:49Speaker 1: So while I appreciate, while I appreciate VP. Harris actually
- 3:55Speaker 1: saying something today, it's not enough. And the worst part
- 4:04Speaker 1: of it is not only the protests are going on
- 4:09Speaker 1: the year after and they've become anti Semitic and not
- 4:11Speaker 1: so much free Palestine, but so much destroy Israel. That's
- 4:19Speaker 1: kind of the rhetoric I hear from these protests. It's
- 4:25Speaker 1: happening today. Two the Jewish people of America, the Jewish
- 4:34Speaker 1: communities of America and across the globe can't even honor
- 4:40Speaker 1: the Somber Day without that loud noise trying to disrupt
- 4:51Speaker 1: even peaceful vigils across the country and across the world.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Because what's happened is by a allowing these protests to escalate,
- 5:02Speaker 1: they've really allowed the anti Semitism to run rapid, even
- 5:07Speaker 1: on our college campuses. And so the people that I
- 5:11Speaker 1: thought were you know, friends and whatnot and and and
- 5:15Speaker 1: have reacted in such a way that basically tell me
- 5:19Speaker 1: they don't believe Jewish people should exist. I hate to
- 5:22Speaker 1: be so extreme, but that's what it felt like I
- 5:24Speaker 1: was hearing that hurts. It hurts. No, the eye opening
- 5:32Speaker 1: aftermath of this terror attack and how people truly feel
- 5:41Speaker 1: about a Jewish person's right to exist. You know how
- 5:44Speaker 1: I know that because I heard I saw stories of
- 5:47Speaker 1: them screaming in an instant Jewish woman's face in Brooklyn
- 5:52Speaker 1: during a protest in Bay Ridge. How is this not
- 5:59Speaker 1: hate speech? What some of these people are saying across
- 6:04Speaker 1: all these protests. In fact, a lot of them are saying,
- 6:09Speaker 1: how is that not considered hate speech? And then when
- 6:18Speaker 1: you interview these college nim numb skulls, they don't even
- 6:22Speaker 1: know half the time what their products. They just want
- 6:24Speaker 1: to be part of the crowd. They want to be cool,
- 6:26Speaker 1: they want to be a dipabetic. That's great. No it's not. No,
- 6:30Speaker 1: it's not. If you're not going to know why you're
- 6:35Speaker 1: protesting but want to be there to fit in, then
- 6:38Speaker 1: basically you are fitting in with anti Semites. I hate
- 6:40Speaker 1: to say that, but that's the truth. But I think
- 6:46Speaker 1: the focus today should be about the ninety seven that
- 6:49Speaker 1: are still in captivity, and the many others who have
- 6:53Speaker 1: lost their lives in captivity, who have been killed in captives,
- 6:57Speaker 1: who have murdered in captivity, and a year later, we're
- 7:06Speaker 1: now hearing has blow should be treated more nicely? And
- 7:10Speaker 1: why are we blowing them up with pagers? That's what
- 7:12Speaker 1: I'm hearing in you know, in the mainstream world, has
- 7:18Speaker 1: anybody truly applauded that Hamas leaders have been killed? Has
- 7:22Speaker 1: anybody truly applauded that, a year later has belated toil? No,
- 7:26Speaker 1: because are wondering how they did it? Well, you know,
- 7:29Speaker 1: these these pages blow up innocence too. Well, you know,
- 7:35Speaker 1: twelve hundred innocent Israelis. We're attacked a year ago, a
- 7:49Speaker 1: year ago, and so at this point it's not even
- 7:53Speaker 1: complaining about the same Israel. It's complaining about Jewish people
- 7:56Speaker 1: try to exist. And that's the most horrifying an eye
- 8:02Speaker 1: opening discovery I found over the last year. And the
- 8:09Speaker 1: fear of Jewish people and Jewish students that I didn't
- 8:13Speaker 1: even see fifteen years ago is now here in UCLA.
- 8:27Speaker 1: They couldn't even they had taken over the campus, these
- 8:30Speaker 1: radical protesters and said, oh, you're Jewish, you can't pass
- 8:34Speaker 1: through here. That's Nazi style. There is a difference between
- 8:43Speaker 1: saying free Palestine. Well, actually there's not a difference anymore,
- 8:52Speaker 1: but I think there is a difference between saying, you know,
- 8:55Speaker 1: ceasefire now and then saying, well, Jews have no right
- 8:59Speaker 1: to exist or defend themselves now. The politicians won't say that.
- 9:07Speaker 1: They will say front and center, yes, Israel has every
- 9:09Speaker 1: right defend themselves. Of course they'll say that it's politically
- 9:12Speaker 1: beneficial to say it. But when you see and here
- 9:26Speaker 1: I think bid clows doors, President Biden is told that,
- 9:28Speaker 1: you know, well, don't don't really go after them, and
- 9:31Speaker 1: don't really attack I don't. The disconnect is very real
- 9:35Speaker 1: for me. And then, of course a week ago I
- 9:38Speaker 1: said the dj was actually loyering up to defend Unrah
- 9:43Speaker 1: and not the October seventh victims. The bottom line is
- 9:53Speaker 1: a year later, Jewish people of Jewish descent should not
- 9:57Speaker 1: be worried about their existence, should not be worried about
- 10:02Speaker 1: their safety, especially when they're supposed to be going to
- 10:07Speaker 1: school and college in the fall and they're concerned about
- 10:10Speaker 1: their safety. It took Manu Chaffiq forever to resign, and
- 10:16Speaker 1: yet Columbia still expecting protests on their campus because the
- 10:22Speaker 1: campuses are not doing enough to keep the safety of
- 10:25Speaker 1: the Jewish people. And as the last week twenty years ago,
- 10:31Speaker 1: I was bar Mitzva on the twentieth anniversary. I ran
- 10:34Speaker 1: was launching rockets in the Israel. How heartbreaking is that?
- 10:43Speaker 1: And I do not believe the Jewish people, just trying
- 10:45Speaker 1: to live their life is asking to be attacked or
- 10:49Speaker 1: had it coming. They did not, I would say, based
- 10:58Speaker 1: on the fact that what did the how have the
- 11:01Speaker 1: Jewish New Yorkers reacted to this? Well, they haven't gone
- 11:04Speaker 1: out and blocked tunnels and everything like that. They've just
- 11:07Speaker 1: marched peacefully. They've set out, set off a peaceful table
- 11:14Speaker 1: during the holidays in honor of the of the victims
- 11:20Speaker 1: and empty chairs for them. They haven't bum rushed all,
- 11:26Speaker 1: you know, because they did. They didn't bum rush the
- 11:30Speaker 1: pro Palestine camps. They stayed in their own kind of
- 11:41Speaker 1: corner lane with everyone to say protesting and a year later,
- 11:49Speaker 1: I don't think it's loud enough. I don't think it's
- 11:53Speaker 1: loud enough when you have a family up in the
- 11:56Speaker 1: DNC pleading to get all the victim's home, all the
- 12:03Speaker 1: hostages home, but then the next minute, the DOJ's repping
- 12:08Speaker 1: UNRA and the un workers that helped Hamas collaborate this
- 12:14Speaker 1: awful attack. In twenty twenty three, a year ago today,
- 12:25Speaker 1: If you aren't at least a bit sorrowful that there
- 12:33Speaker 1: were twelve hundred Israelis killed, taken away from their homes, victimized,
- 12:42Speaker 1: then you have no soul at all at all. But
- 13:00Speaker 1: now we can't think about the divisions as much as
- 13:03Speaker 1: I think we should. When we have ninety seven hostins
- 13:08Speaker 1: who sovereign returned home to Israel, that should be a
- 13:11Speaker 1: focus of VP Harris, And in fact Vice President Harris
- 13:16Speaker 1: did say this on her official page today, She said,
- 13:23Speaker 1: I will never forget the horror of October seven, twenty
- 13:25Speaker 1: twenty three. Twelve hundred people, including forty six Americans, were
- 13:32Speaker 1: massacred by Hamas Terris. Women raped on the side of
- 13:35Speaker 1: the road, two hundred fifty people kidnapped. It was dead
- 13:38Speaker 1: to this day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
- 13:42Speaker 1: What Hamas did that day was pure evil, brutal and sickening,
- 13:46Speaker 1: and it has rekindled a deep fear among the Jewish people,
- 13:49Speaker 1: not just in Israel, but in the United States and
- 13:51Speaker 1: around the world. The long, extraordinary arc of Jewish history
- 13:56Speaker 1: is full of programs and prejudice, daughter and a slaughter
- 14:01Speaker 1: and separation, and now in our own generation. There is
- 14:04Speaker 1: a moment that the world moons never forget. I am
- 14:08Speaker 1: devastated by the loss and pain of the Israeli people
- 14:11Speaker 1: as a result of the heinous October seventh attack. Doug
- 14:14Speaker 1: and I pray for the families of the victims and
- 14:17Speaker 1: hope they find solace in remembering their loved ones live.
- 14:22Speaker 1: We also pray for the Jewish people all around the world.
- 14:25Speaker 1: We all must ensure nothing like the horrors of October
- 14:29Speaker 1: seventh ever happen again. I will do everything in my
- 14:32Speaker 1: power to ensure that the threat of moss Poses is eliminated,
- 14:36Speaker 1: that is never again able to govern Gaza, and that
- 14:40Speaker 1: it fall fails in its mission to annihilate Israel, and
- 14:46Speaker 1: that the people of Gaza are free from the grip
- 14:48Speaker 1: of Amas. I will never stop fighting for the release
- 14:51Speaker 1: of all the hostages, including the seven American citizens living
- 14:54Speaker 1: and deceased still held Oh Mayor Edon Segee, Keith, Judy
- 15:07Speaker 1: gadd And I tell you I will never stop fighting
- 15:13Speaker 1: with the justice of those who have who murdered her Scholdberg,
- 15:17Speaker 1: Poland and other Americans. And I will always ensure Israel
- 15:22Speaker 1: has what it needs to defend itself against Iran and
- 15:24Speaker 1: Iraq Band terrorists, mike women as a security is unwavering.
- 15:32Speaker 1: She goes on to say Amasa's terrorist attack on October
- 15:37Speaker 1: seventh launch a war in Gaza. I am heartbroken over
- 15:40Speaker 1: the scale of death and discussion in Gaza over the
- 15:42Speaker 1: past year, thousands lost children fleeing. Is far time for
- 15:48Speaker 1: a hostage and cease fire deal to end the suffering
- 15:50Speaker 1: of business people. And she goes on to fight for
- 15:53Speaker 1: the Penicillian people. All right, there's an Israel elebanon the
- 16:07Speaker 1: words of the cottash, however, are not about death. I
- 16:10Speaker 1: thought they were the prayers about still believing in God
- 16:12Speaker 1: and still having faith. The cottage is read in Mourning.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Vice President Harris, It's read in Mourning. She kind of
- 16:25Speaker 1: loses me when she's talked about the Palestinians, because today
- 16:27Speaker 1: is about the Israelis that have lost their lives, that
- 16:32Speaker 1: are being held hostage. But she also loses me when
- 16:39Speaker 1: she says, and I give a credit for saying she
- 16:43Speaker 1: understands as a terror attack. But if that was the case,
- 16:46Speaker 1: why was she not willing to meet with net and Yahoo?
- 16:49Speaker 1: Someone answer me that? And if that's the case, should
- 16:54Speaker 1: she be elected in November, will she stop the DOJ
- 16:57Speaker 1: from siding with the un r W. Those are the
- 17:02Speaker 1: two burden questions I have. VP Harris, you released this statement,
- 17:12Speaker 1: but it can sound a little empty when you know
- 17:20Speaker 1: you weren't even at the net Nahoo congressional speech. You
- 17:23Speaker 1: weren't even at the meetings when you didn't even want
- 17:26Speaker 1: to meet with them. So I really hope she is
- 17:34Speaker 1: committed to siding with our strongest ally and with the
- 17:38Speaker 1: Jewish people and the thousands of Jewish communities across the country.
- 17:46Speaker 1: But actions need to happen beyond words. So if you're
- 17:52Speaker 1: really focused on this, get the ninety seven hostages home yesterday. Yes,
- 18:06Speaker 1: and I read today in the posts that they actually
- 18:10Speaker 1: did that music festival where a lot of the terror started.
- 18:20Speaker 1: And that's the resiliency. That's the resiliency of the Jewish people.
- 18:27Speaker 1: The Noble Musical festival site. They may not have at
- 18:35Speaker 1: a concern thing to mark the attack, but they were
- 18:47Speaker 1: there honoring the site. And at Columbia today pro Jewish
- 19:10Speaker 1: and Israeli protesters are reading the names of the dead
- 19:12Speaker 1: from the attack. So these classes are going on in
- 19:19Speaker 1: our city and we have a mayor who's indicted. That's
- 19:24Speaker 1: how descended into chaos. It feels like we've become a
- 19:27Speaker 1: year later, and we mustn't let that chaos lead to
- 19:31Speaker 1: forgetting what happened on October seventh, twenty twenty three. It
- 19:37Speaker 1: was a terror attack against Israel. Never forget that
