- 7:15who assumed her current position in February twenty twenty five,
- 7:19was on hand to support volunteers and meet with patrons
- 7:23seeking information regarding housing assistants. I tried to come here
- 7:28and help as much as I can, Gilim said. As
- 7:31Habitat executive director, it's a way for me to talk
- 7:35to people who might need more information about our services.
- 7:39Gilham noted that Cave Run Habitat, whose five one C
- 7:44three umbrella encompasses Hazel Green Food Project, covers an extensive
- 7:50service area including Fleming, Menefee, Morgan, Rowan and Wolf Counties.

- 8:18homes in Morgan County after the tornado Pardon after the tornado,
- 8:25as reported in the Courier at that time, our main
- 8:29focus is low income families, Gillam said. We do build

- 9:30people need more help with housing the last few years,
- 9:33Gillam said. Unfortunately, the demand is greater than the funding,
- 9:38but we are doing what we can and taking it
- 9:41one day at a time. Additionally, Gillam indicated that Cave
- 9:45Run Habitat officials hope to expand veterans services in the future.
- 9:50We have built a house for veterans in Morgan County,
- 9:53Gilliam said. Habitat owns the house and selects the veteran
- 9:58to live there. When the veterans no longer needs a house,
- 10:01if they move or pass away, we select another veteran
- 10:05to occupy the home, so the house will always be
- 10:08occupied by veterans. Nikki Stacey, who serves as vice chair
- 10:13of the Cave Run Habitat Board and as Hazel Green
- 10:17Food Project Director, said that the veterans' home is located
- 10:21on Highway one ninety one, approximately one mile from the pantry.
- 10:27We now have our third veteran living in the house,
- 10:29Stacy said. Our first veteran was Daryl Adams. He lived
- 10:36there for a little over a year before he passed away.
- 10:39Stacy lauded Gilham for a pardoning. Stacy Lotti Gillam, former
- 10:44director of the Rowan County Arts Center, and ovarian cancer survivor.
