- 0:27Hey everybody good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today we are talking about adaptability because this has
- 0:35been a non-stop adaptability morning for me.
- 0:39One thing after another it has just been OK.
- 0:42The best laid plans all of a sudden seem to go out the window
- 0:46and you have to adapt. And I thought well in my.
- 0:50Never ending quest right now to find the adaptability.
- 0:53I should talk to them about this because I think it's kind of a
- 0:55an interesting thing. So I am in the biz.
- 0:58I've talked, you know the last couple months I've been talking
- 1:01about how we are in the process of doing some really cool things
- 1:05and getting some content to be able to give away and get out
- 1:10there and then creating a new website and all this stuff.
- 1:12And I have had to just constantly adapt in the process
- 1:15of doing this because things shift and change.
- 1:18You change your ideas, You change thoughts.
- 1:20And even software you think you're using something, you
- 1:22think it's going to be great, then all of a sudden you have to
- 1:24adapt. And I have been recording and
- 1:29then I find out that some of the recording stuff wasn't working
- 1:31properly. I had an echo in the studio.
- 1:34I could give you a list a mile long, but in the process of all
- 1:38of this, it has put a delay on some stuff.
- 1:41I've had to step back and think about what I'm doing.
- 1:43I had to think about how I wanted to proceed with it all
- 1:47and. You know, these are the times
- 1:49where you say to yourself, well, what if I just don't do it?
- 1:52What if I just decide because I'm no one's holding a gun to my
- 1:56head to do this. I'm the one who's putting this
- 1:58out there. I'm the one that said I wanted
- 2:00to create this. So it's essentially my perfect
- 2:04world and I can do it however I want.
- 2:07And here I am causing myself all this grief in the process of it.
- 2:10And I thought, well, wait a minute, it didn't start out
- 2:13where you were causing yourself grief.
- 2:14You started off enjoying this? So having this ability to be
- 2:19able to be adaptable and change your plans and not be upset is a
- 2:24huge thing for me because it's necessary to do that.
- 2:28Not to mention even this morning as I'm getting ready to come
- 2:31out, you know, it's the time change makes it later and later
- 2:35before I can record. And then I have to I'm, I'm
- 2:38looking. And I'm saying, OK, well, it's
- 2:39not even light yet, and I'm supposed to be talking to people
- 2:42and now I've got to shoot a podcast and something that's
- 2:45supposed to be fun is causing stress.
- 2:47So I'm still in this position where I'm like, holy cow, I need
- 2:51to do something about this. I need to get my head screwed
- 2:54around this, and I need to get back to being okay with it.
- 2:58I have to get back to being OK with it because if I don't, I'm
- 3:02going to cause myself a tremendous amount of stress.
- 3:05So first and foremost, I want to talk to you about getting back
- 3:08to being OK. But you can't get there until
- 3:11you're aware of where you're faltering.
- 3:13So the very first thing I had to be aware of is where is my head
- 3:16going sideways? What is causing me to go
- 3:19sideways, so to speak? And the first thing was my
- 3:23certainty Girl was driving and I wasn't.
- 3:25I wasn't even close to being OK with the fact that I was off
- 3:31track. Now, mind you, I created the
- 3:34track. So I can change my mind, I can
- 3:38allow things to shift, and that's what I had to start
- 3:41getting back in touch with. I created this problem so I can
- 3:45solve this problem. I don't have to be a nut job
- 3:48about it. I can just say stop.
- 3:50I can recalibrate this, I can shift it.
- 3:53And I can be incredibly adaptable.
- 3:55I can, I can just, OK, adapt to the change, adapt to the change.
- 3:59Because that's what survival is all about, being able to adapt
- 4:02to change. That's why so many animals have
- 4:05been able to survive, because they've been able to adapt to
- 4:07change. And if I'm not adapting to
- 4:08change, there's a chance I struggle and I can't survive.
- 4:13So first and foremost, remember that that is a piece of the
- 4:16puzzle that you can absolutely, without question, do and save
- 4:20yourself a heck of a lot of aggravation.
- 4:23Next, remember that you can't do anything unless you make the
- 4:28decision to be. Cognitively aware of what's
- 4:31going on around you. So being super aware of, like,
- 4:34OK, this is off track and I'm experiencing stress because
- 4:38you're going to know you're off track, but you have to be aware
- 4:42of what it's doing to you in the process.
- 4:44So it's not just about saying, oh, I'm off track.
- 4:48It's about saying what is it doing to me?
- 4:50What is it causing me? How much stress is it bringing
- 4:52to me? And then you can pull yourself
- 4:55back from it and be like OK, now that I have these two bits of
- 4:58information. And I can say, OK, how do I want
- 5:02to shift in this moment? How do I want to be different?
- 5:05What can I do to be different? How can I structure what my
- 5:08thoughts are around being different so that I don't allow
- 5:11myself to be this stressed because it's not helping me.
- 5:14And when you start to think the process through, all of a sudden
- 5:18everything starts to feel easier, better, and you can
- 5:21start to. You know, navigate it.
- 5:24Now, you might not be able to get completely around it, but
- 5:26you can certainly navigate it. And that's what we're looking
- 5:29for. That's what we're talking about.
- 5:31The navigation of it all, not just sitting there and feeling
- 5:34sorry for yourself and doing nothing about it because that's
- 5:37not going to help at all. Quite honestly, that doesn't
- 5:39help at all. So keep that in mind.
- 5:42Focus on that point of saying, you know what?
- 5:45Sometimes you just got to be adaptable, Sometimes you got to
- 5:47be very adaptable, extremely adaptable.
- 5:51And you'll get past it just like I did.
- 5:53All right, my friends. I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:55I hope you have a blessed day. Bye.
