UAE property holdings in Manchester grew to 260 football pitches
A report by The Guardian reveals that the government of the United Arab Emirates and Emirati developers have steadily increased their ownership of land and buildings in Manchester over the last ten years. At its height in 2023, their holdings covered an area equal to 260 football pitches. A key development started in 2013 when Manchester City Council sold a central site to Abu Dhabi for £5 million.
