- Sarahn: Hello beautiful people. Today is August the 26th and today's calendar challenge is make a list titled Things I Want to Try. Yes, sometimes joy begins with simply getting curious about what's possible. You don't have to commit to anything right now. You don't have to sign on the dotted line. You just have to imagine all of the things that you would like to try. When was the last time you tried something just because you were curious? I want to learn a new language. I want to backpack through Europe. I want to try golfing. I want to try scuba diving. I want to dream. Yes, we dreamed. So often about the things that we want to buy tangibly or the things we want to do. But do we dream enough about the things we want to explore? This isn't about a bucket list. You don't have to accomplish everything you write down. The goal is to simply capture the things that spark your imagination. So take the pressure off. Your list could include travel, food, hobbies, classes, adventure. Creative projects, conversations, performances, or completely random experiences. And maybe you want to try things that scare you a little bit. Maybe you've always wanted to take the dance class or go on a solo trip or perform a monologue, try pottery, go camping solo or run a marathon. I know that scares me, okay? I had to slide the marathon in there because woo. Running is a lot. I tried that for a little bit. Power to y'all that do it, okay? If you have tried it, if you have ran a marathon or if you're just a runner and you do it successfully, okay, kudos to you. But include those things too. Joy doesn't require a life-changing adventure. Maybe it's you want to try a new restaurant or make homemade pasta or watch the sunrise, visit a museum you've never been to, or explore an area of town or of the country that you never had before. So don't let I'm too old or I'm too tired or I don't want to do it alone or that's just not for people like me. Don't let that stop you from dreaming and stop you from exploring all the adventures that life has to offer. You're allowed to be a beginner, you're allowed to be curious, you're allowed to try something new. And decide that you don't like it, or maybe that you love it. So the places you wanna go, the food you wanna taste, the things you wanna learn, the things you wanna create, the things you wanna do alone, things you wanna do with others, things that scare you a little bit, things that sound like fun, things that bring you joy. You don't need a reason, a plan, or permission. You just need the wonderment and the awe of your next joyful adventure. Just enough is more than enough, Saran says.
