- 0:05Speaker 1: She's the hottest new pop girlie. She's got hot pink hair,
- 0:08Speaker 1: one of the breakout stars of 2026. She's been playing
- 0:12Speaker 1: all the big music festivals that are around the world
- 0:14Speaker 1: right now. Her debut album, Prima, comes out tomorrow. This
- 0:19Speaker 1: chick is the real deal. Her name is Adela. Let's
- 0:21Speaker 1: get her on.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Hey, what's up? This is Adela. You're listening to Small
- 0:25Speaker 2: Z on Kiss.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Welcome to the show. I'm very excited to meet you,
- 0:28Speaker 1: let me tell you.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I am excited to be here. Thank you for having me.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Adela, welcome, and thank you for catching up with us.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I appreciate it.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Thank you. So excited.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Congratulations on everything. There's a lot of buzz and hype
- 0:40Speaker 1: around you.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yay! We love to hear this.
- 0:43Speaker 1: We love buzz and hype. We love buzz and hype.
- 0:47Speaker 1: What is the Adela story for people who don't know?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Because it's pretty incredible.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I'm from Slovakia, which is like a little country in Europe.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I was a ballerina since I was three years old.
- 0:59Speaker 3: And I was always singing and dancing. I did ballet
- 1:02Speaker 3: professionally for a chunk of my life. And then I
- 1:06Speaker 3: was like, oh, I don't want to do this anymore.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I want to do music. So then I auditioned for
- 1:10Speaker 3: this show called Popstar Academy in secret when I was 18.
- 1:16Speaker 3: And then I spent two years doing that. And it
- 1:19Speaker 3: came out on Netflix. Yep. Didn't make it into the group,
- 1:22Speaker 3: but I made my own songs and people liked them.
- 1:25Speaker 2: So that's really great.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Okay. And didn't you teach yourself English?
- 1:29Speaker 2: I did.
- 1:30Speaker 3: I did. I saw Hannah Montana when I was five
- 1:32Speaker 3: years old. Hannah Montana was like, oh, you can do
- 1:34Speaker 3: this as a job?
- 1:36Speaker 2: Like, okay, sign me up.
- 1:37Speaker 3: And then my older brother was like, oh, they're actually
- 1:39Speaker 3: all American because I thought she was from Slovakia because.
- 1:41Speaker 2: It's dubbed over.
- 1:43Speaker 3: So I was like, oh, like I can just audition
- 1:45Speaker 3: and it's fine.
- 1:46Speaker 2: But you can't.
- 1:47Speaker 1: You can't.
- 1:47Speaker 3: No.
- 1:47Speaker 1: You can't.
- 1:48Speaker 3: And so I was like, oh, okay. And then when
- 1:50Speaker 3: I was eight, I was like, you know what? I
- 1:51Speaker 3: can't be from America, but I can sound American.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:54Speaker 3: So I like taught myself English. I like mimicked like celebrities.
- 2:00Speaker 3: I just like would come home from school and I
- 2:02Speaker 3: would spend literally hours on YouTube watching like. Ariana Grande
- 2:07Speaker 3: interviews and like Miley Cyrus.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Did you know what she was saying in the early
- 2:12Speaker 1: days or were you just like repeating what she was?
- 2:14Speaker 2: Like not at first.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Yeah, you were just talking words.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Like I was, I don't really even understand how it happened.
- 2:20Speaker 1: See, because English is my first language and I can
- 2:22Speaker 1: barely speak it properly sometimes. And you, I mean, I'm impressed. Right.
- 2:26Speaker 3: This is the thing that I'm finding out is like,
- 2:28Speaker 3: sometimes my vocabulary is wider than actual people.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Only one language.
- 2:33Speaker 2: No shade.
- 2:35Speaker 1: No, actually shade. No, no, no. Shame on me. Shame
- 2:37Speaker 1: on me. Um, okay. So that's an incredible backstory on
- 2:41Speaker 1: how you got here. So then fast forward, you're on
- 2:44Speaker 1: Tik Toks with Troye Sivan and Demi Lovato. Like this
- 2:50Speaker 1: is just like a wild four years for you.
- 2:52Speaker 2: It is. I guess it is. Um, it's insane. I
- 2:55Speaker 2: don't know.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Like I've, I've listened to Troy since I was literally 11.
- 2:59Speaker 1: You've, and I, sorry, you said you've been obsessed.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I've been obsessed with Troy since I was 11.
- 3:04Speaker 3: And so it was crazy when I like, remember the
- 3:06Speaker 3: first time I met him, I was like sitting on
- 3:08Speaker 3: a couch and he like knew the words to my song.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Like we played him a song of mine and he
- 3:12Speaker 3: was like singing along. And I was like, what the fuck?
- 3:15Speaker 3: I was like, bro, what are you doing?
- 3:17Speaker 2: I literally, I was like, Oh, Troye Sivan. It's so
- 3:20Speaker 2: nice to meet you, Troye Sivan.
- 3:21Speaker 3: I called him by his full name.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Full name, okay.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Because I was like, you're a full name person to me.
- 3:27Speaker 1: No, I get that. Yeah, no, I get that. And
- 3:29Speaker 1: you can never un-full name this person. No, no, no.
- 3:32Speaker 1: It's Troye Sivan in full.
- 3:34Speaker 2: All the time.
- 3:34Speaker 3: But now I've seen him a couple of times, so
- 3:35Speaker 3: I'm like, maybe I should un-full name you because it's
- 3:37Speaker 3: getting a little weird.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Weird, yeah.
- 3:39Speaker 1: To be Troy.
- 3:40Speaker 2: But yeah, it is Troy now. But I still want...
- 3:43Speaker 2: I'm like, Troye, stop myself.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I love that for you. The hair's great too, by
- 3:47Speaker 1: the way. Thank you. Now, are we... Are we weaving, wigging,
- 3:50Speaker 1: or is this your real hair?
- 3:52Speaker 2: It kind of looks like a wig today.
- 3:53Speaker 1: No, I'm not saying it does. I'm trying to give
- 3:56Speaker 1: you a bit of warning in your life.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Listen, there's fabulous wigs out there. Nothing bad with a wig.
- 4:03Speaker 3: I even said it myself when I was curling. I
- 4:04Speaker 3: was like, it kind of looks like a wig. But
- 4:07Speaker 3: it is real.
- 4:07Speaker 1: It is real.
- 4:08Speaker 2: It is real.
- 4:09Speaker 3: There's like maybe three strands of hair left on my head.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:12Speaker 3: I mean, it's not actually real. There's a lot of
- 4:15Speaker 3: fakeness happening.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I guess what I'm trying to say is here is
- 4:18Speaker 1: like in... Not that I know much about hair, but
- 4:21Speaker 1: I know enough to know that there's only so many
- 4:23Speaker 1: goes you get at doing that before it will never
- 4:26Speaker 1: be the same again.
- 4:27Speaker 3: And I don't think it will be. I kind of
- 4:28Speaker 3: want to shave my head at some point, but I'm
- 4:31Speaker 3: not sure if I have the facial structure for that completely.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And you know what the problem with that is? Is
- 4:35Speaker 1: that you never know until you've actually done it. And
- 4:38Speaker 1: then you're just like, oh, what have I done?
- 4:40Speaker 2: Until you do it, and then I'll cry. So, you know,
- 4:42Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, we'll see.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Okay. It is 60 seconds with Adela and... Just the
- 4:48Speaker 1: first thing that comes to your head. Are you ready
- 4:50Speaker 1: to go?
- 4:50Speaker 3: Yeah. I am such an open book. I would tell
- 4:53Speaker 3: you anything you ask me right now. I'm like, I
- 4:54Speaker 3: did this. And it doesn't even, like, I don't have, like,
- 4:57Speaker 3: a sensor in my brain where it's like, oh, this
- 4:59Speaker 3: is inappropriate.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Okay, good.
- 5:00Speaker 2: But it's, like, a bad thing.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I should. No, it is a bad thing. But you
- 5:03Speaker 1: may have to, like, rein that in. I, like.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Have started to kind of. But, like, I don't. It
- 5:09Speaker 2: doesn't come very natural.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Well, let's.
- 5:11Speaker 3: You know what?
- 5:11Speaker 1: Maybe for the last time, no sensor required.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Your nickname growing up.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 5:19Speaker 3: I had the worst crooked teeth. My brother used to
- 5:22Speaker 3: call me... What's that guy from Lord of the Rings? The, like,
- 5:26Speaker 3: really crazy looking one?
- 5:28Speaker 1: Gollum. Oh, Gollum.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Yep.
- 5:31Speaker 1: My brother called me Gollum. My precious.
- 5:33Speaker 2: My precious.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Your favorite aisle at the supermarket? Um.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I don't go to the supermarket.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Do you not go to the supermarket? Okay.
- 5:41Speaker 2: No, I don't. I don't do any like real life things. Really?
- 5:45Speaker 2: I just kind of go to the studio and then I.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Who fills your pantry up at home?
- 5:50Speaker 2: I don't have a pantry.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Okay.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I just like Uber Eats everything. It's a waste.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Oh my God. You're wasting so much money.
- 5:58Speaker 2: It's wasteful.
- 5:59Speaker 1: No, you need to go to the supermarket.
- 6:01Speaker 2: It's wasteful. I need to.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I think, and I think it's really important just like
- 6:04Speaker 1: as your pop stardom rises. I know. No, I think
- 6:08Speaker 1: the supermarket keeps you grounded. It doesn't.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I'm not very, I'm like somewhere.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Do you open the stars, but you need to just
- 6:14Speaker 1: make sure you have a little bit of yin and yang. Okay. Um,
- 6:17Speaker 1: what is something your friends would say about you behind
- 6:19Speaker 1: your back? Um, she's very generous. No, I don't know.
- 6:24Speaker 3: She's the most beautiful stunning girl in the world.
- 6:27Speaker 2: And I love her so much. That's what I heard too.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Um, do you use your own Netflix account or do
- 6:34Speaker 1: you mooch off someone else?
- 6:35Speaker 2: I have my own.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Oh, she's independent.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Thank you very much.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Shout out to Capital for the money. Thank you. I
- 6:42Speaker 2: get to have my own account.
- 6:44Speaker 1: What's your worst habit?
- 6:45Speaker 2: Just being fabulous all the time. I can't stop.
- 6:48Speaker 1: She can't stop. She can't stop, won't stop.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I can't stop, won't stop being fabulous. It's a problem.
- 6:53Speaker 2: People are like, be normal. I'm like, no.
- 6:55Speaker 3: No.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Go-to takeout food?
- 6:57Speaker 2: Thai.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Thai.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Tie what are we getting what it's on the menu
- 7:00Speaker 1: a pat tie oh okay.
- 7:02Speaker 3: And like those like that like coconut spicy shrimp soup.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Love that i don't know what it's called no i
- 7:07Speaker 1: love that for you uh if your life was turned
- 7:09Speaker 1: into a movie who would you want to play you.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Trisha paytas okay yeah yep.
- 7:16Speaker 1: And then do you believe in ghosts yeah i fully
- 7:20Speaker 1: do i've seen anything do you have any experiences i
- 7:22Speaker 1: always like that as my ender because then i get
- 7:24Speaker 1: to go oh have you ever seen something haunted.
- 7:27Speaker 3: You know um I don't think I have, but I
- 7:30Speaker 3: do tell this story and I'm not sure that it's
- 7:32Speaker 3: completely real and I might've made it up.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I love a lie.
- 7:35Speaker 2: But it's like, it might be a lie. I don't
- 7:38Speaker 2: know if I remember.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Correctly, but my brother, when our great grandma died, I
- 7:44Speaker 3: remember he like woke up that night or that morning
- 7:47Speaker 3: and he was like, Oh my God, I had this
- 7:49Speaker 3: craziest dream. Like our great grandma like came to visit.
- 7:52Speaker 3: And then my mom was like, she died.
- 7:54Speaker 1: No, that's real. that's oh okay no that is real
- 7:56Speaker 1: story okay i don't i don't even know that i
- 7:59Speaker 1: don't even know your brother but i can tell you
- 8:01Speaker 1: like that they do that oh okay when people pass
- 8:03Speaker 1: over like this the spirit the soul the spirit will
- 8:06Speaker 1: come and visit like loved ones particularly if you have
- 8:08Speaker 1: like unfinished business or things like that because when my
- 8:11Speaker 1: grandfather passed away i have a very vivid dream of
- 8:15Speaker 1: him sitting on the end of my bed and it
- 8:17Speaker 1: was so comforting and then i was like I've never
- 8:20Speaker 1: had that dream before or since that. And it was
- 8:24Speaker 1: on the day that he died.
- 8:25Speaker 2: So you found out in the morning.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Yeah. Wow.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:28Speaker 2: See, I believe that. I don't fuck with that shit.
- 8:30Speaker 2: I don't even watch horror movies.
- 8:31Speaker 1: No.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I don't want to connect, contact. I'm like.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Leave her alone. I respect you guys. But she believes.
- 8:36Speaker 2: I respect you guys. I believe in you guys. I
- 8:38Speaker 2: don't want to be too tight.
- 8:40Speaker 1: When are you coming to Australia? Last question.
- 8:42Speaker 3: I hope as soon as possible.
- 8:43Speaker 1: We would love to have you because, you know, you've
- 8:46Speaker 1: got a poppin' fan base that is building in Australia
- 8:48Speaker 1: and we would love to have you.
- 8:49Speaker 2: That's amazing and great.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I also think the Australian accent is like the sexiest
- 8:53Speaker 3: accent ever. So, like, the entire time you've been speaking,
- 8:56Speaker 3: I was like, I love this.
- 8:58Speaker 2: You should speak all the time. I'm sure you do.
- 9:00Speaker 1: You are so much fun. I can't wait to see
- 9:02Speaker 1: what happens next.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Thank you so much. Thank you for having me.
