Transcript
- Vince: All right, we're back at it one more time. The Vincere project is going to live on for another week. It's cool, man. Hey, doing a podcast, right? It's you just have to be dumb enough to not quit. Apparently, when you get to like episode 20, we're at episode 22. Episode 20, you enter like a top percentile, top ten percent or five percent or one percent of podcast. just through surely producing something, whether it's good or not. That's kind of crazy. That's really, really wild to me actually. But I because I don't feel like we've accomplished anything. No panels yet. The nothing's changed, the backdrop. Jamie's got good ideas though coming up for our plan, prepare, and production event. Do a fundraiser for the Kean University veterans organization. I was a Kean veteran university. and Brock is in there right now. So I think, you know, it's logical he works over there. He's doing his internship. Wants to raise little money for the cane veterans. So I think I'm on board with that. We're gonna r run from Long Beach Island down to Cape May. The ride you have to run is about eighty-eight miles, which I think will be fun and it's good. You know, he he wanted to do a relay to play it nice and safe, which I think makes sense. And then if that didn't work out, he wanted to play pickleball, which I just I refuse to do that. I'm not playing pickleball. Anyway, anybody that plays pickleballs, like that's like you're you're less of an athlete than a crossfitter at that point. You're in a weird, weird space where it's like non athletic. You're a NARP. Non-athletic regular persons, as the kids say these days. So anyway, you know, back to the cane thing. So eighty-eight miles will raise a little bit of money. it'll be good. Who knows how much we'll raise? I don't know. A couple of grand, something like that. Maybe the bank of Vince will fund it. I have no idea. you'll see some stuff coming out over the next few weeks about that. Some marketing. Jamie will put together some good stuff. Brock's training, I'm training. It might be a relay race. All kidding aside, I the the relay thing is responsible. You go, I go straight through. Maybe we carry a flag, maybe we don't. We'll do little hoo-ha at the end of it. I think it's gonna take about 20 hours. It's generally flat. Depends on the weather elements, plus or minus. Let's say all in worst case scenario. I don't know, 24 hours, something like that. So it'll be good. We got Jamie and Uncle Jack on board. Uncle Jack's gonna be the driver. And Jamie's gonna be capturing and drone footage and video and instilling and reporting back. And we'll share it with our friends and family and and hopefully it'll be an HR production. All right, and then we'll do a pre-podcast Brock and I were gonna test out some new equipment over at the other office, at the one of the actual offices, sign up a little podcast studio and we'll see what that looks like and get enlightened, right? Like just like this. We're gonna play with all of it and keep working on it and experiment. He'll talk about his expectations, his experience with Doctor Vince and kind of where he's at and his graduate experience, which is a good thing, and then do the event and raise some money and or we won't. Just be a good experience and You know, we'll see. It'll be good. It'll be good. But yeah. I don't know. We'll open up to friends, family, see if we need any help, support. There might be danger crossings, I think, where we could use the fuzz out there with their flashing lights and a stop sign telling people not to run us over, maybe once or twice, right? 'Cause it is South Jersey in the summer, but but it's gonna be the fall, maybe the winter, fall, I don't know. October, November, I think is a good time when it's a little cool but not chilly or too cold. But you don't I don't October maybe. I don't want to caught in a storm-ish. I don't know. We've got to play with this. But that's what's going to happen in the next few months, man. It's nice to make that commitment going into the fall. I do better when I have something to train too. The goal was the 100-miler at the beginning of the year. I've been talking about that for over two years now. And I'm like, man, like I did the Tosh's thing back in the winter, the 20 hours. And I'm like, all right, like my toenail got left out in Colorado, and I'm like a little cranky about it. Maybe someday. I I this is gonna be better though for where I'm at. And I'm just rambling at this point for the first three, five minutes. But yeah. Title is Plan Prepared Pur D production, right? And the plan is it implies future self-inventory. Hey, do I gotta train up for this thing or I'm gonna wing it and see what happens there? And I think either one of us, based on our level of fitness, could suffer through it for that. I don't think it's responsible. I think you gotta get out there and get a few hours on your feet. Just be mindful, right? Like a couple days in a row, log little bit of mileage, get a little ramp up, just eliminate some of the unnecessary. Wear and tear, or just go into it and let it suck in a way that is very unique and distinct to not training for an endurance. Look, I've done that before. I've done multiple 50Ks where like I was doing a heavy front squat cycle for like two months and then I just woke up, I like, I'm gonna do 50k with my former team leader. Man, you can get into that space. It turns into a different kind of fight. I've gone where hey, I never won these shoes before, show up in the middle of winter, fifty K, go do it, and just suffer in front of strangers, right? And friends, right? I have friends, I have friends with me on that one. Jeez. Like poor Vince. Look a little Vince. Right. But may future self inventory, right? Like, hey, do I want to be ready for the thing? And then I because I know I'm gonna test the thing and then you gotta prepare, right? And that's to make ready for use. Yeah, the ankles, knees, hips, back. Talk about the route. I think we're gonna recon the route. I think we need to drive it at least once to really get the panoramic for Jamie's backdrop of which he's trying to capture. But it's cool, man. Jamie's like, Hey, I wanna make like a ten minute YouTube or maybe like a three part series of these little videos and storyline and You know, and I think it's something that is beautiful, right? Because the way I've designed my life is just long runways with people. You're gonna be people that are jump and off. There's people are just gonna bet against the runway and be Yeah, I d want nothing to do with that runway in any way, shape, or form and that's okay too. I don't take that personal. You know, I don't I mean I'm in a phase of life where like I somebody's like, well what do you think? or what do you think that person thinks or whatever this person I'm like, dude, if they got vaccinated, I don't even consider what they think. Like, doesn't mean that they're not an expert. Like, if a heart surgeon got vaccinated and they're one doing heart surgery and they're the world-renowned heart surgeon, I want them doing it, right? But like I don't need the opinion about my morality or who or what I'm doing to somebody that was a pro vaxxer, especially the people that said mean things. You know, I think that's that's contrary and counter to how I see the world. You know, so back to the plan, prepare, and production thing. I think the production part is tricky, right? That's the fundraiser. And like, did we raise money or we didn't? I don't know. Maybe we'll raise a hundred bucks and we'll do like a pizza party for the guys that are graduating this this fall, right? That's good. Upgrade the coffee in their break room, right? Get them a get an Xbox in there. I don't know, right? Like you gotta start with a pragmatic approach about like, hey, we're just gonna improve. What's gonna have the guys hang out in this space, man? Like a fancy coffee maker. Hey, we'll we'll get a sauna put in. Right now we have a sauna in there for the guys to relax between classes, break a sweat, have conversations. That way nobody has a wire on, there's no state's evidence. That's why I like my sauna. Go in there. Nobody's talking to cops in there. Nobody's recording devices. You need to keep that shit out. that's 225 right there. So we're donate that to football seasons here. Somebody playing football is getting a donation because Vince isn't good at managing profanity anymore or yet. But yeah, plan, prepare, production. That's what we're gonna do. Keenvitz, something, something, Brock and I. It's gonna be great, man. Yeah, just gonna be great. We're finished with the Coast Guard for Broccoli. Get a little. Yeah, go there, man. They'll they'll be out there chanting and doing their cadences. Fishies, fishies, fishies swim in the ocean. Drill instructor. whatever they say. I don't know what the coast card says, but it'll be good. It'll be good. It's symbolic, man. It's so much. We'll have some family festivities at the end, right? Closest family friends, do a little dinner. Eat some crabs or lobster tails or something. Or I don't know. I'm probably gonna want like something to hearty. Or maybe I won't even be hungry at that point. twenty hours. Who knows? Maybe we're not even doing a relay. Maybe we are going straight through from Long Beach Island all the way down to the end, just him and I back and forth, and we'll get the aid and assistance of Jack and Jamie along the way. That made it maybe that's a better event and more telling of the veteran transformation. What happens at at Cain University and grad school and You move to the next thing. I mean, there's I know personally at least, at least at this point, ten veterans have gone through there that are are massively successful right now. They're they're not outliers either, right? It's like, yeah, you're taking people that are they get into college in their 20s or 30s, they've done stuff in been places, now they're buying houses. I've been teaching that long that I was watching buying houses, getting married, having kids, setting conditions for a future to them. You know, it's a little bit of planning, prepare, and and you gotta production. You gotta produce. There's gotta be a metric. quantitative specifically or qualitative of the particular thing you said you're doing. And and folks I think on this scale, I is awesome. People that think on this scale, but you want to be incredibly focused on the thing that you're doing and who you're serving. And I think that's what how I look at it. It's like, there's our professor, right? He's the he's a GWAT veteran. He's he's doing his thing, right? And then the next generation of veteran, because like I tell them, it's like, yeah, you're gonna have somebody else coming through those fighting drones. There was been been one or two students I've had that have done drone drone warfare. Yeah, it sounds terrifying. To me. To me. Like that sounds absolutely awful. because not only is it three sixty and warfare, we know this in urban environments and in the mountains as well, but definitely urban environments, it's asymmetric, right? And it's and five eighty, right? Five three sixty, five eighty. I don't know, right? It's in every angle, right? You know, so can you ever prepare for that? Yeah, you gotta train for that, prepare and think about those things. So the application taken from the battlefield, moving in the classroom and then going for a little run in South Jersey, our battle space is gonna be good. You know, running through the modern day Rhodesia. That's what Ocean County is down through the Cape in Rhodesia, man. Just surrounded on all sides. That's gonna be good. Raise some money, get some go fund me, I think, or whatever. If anybody's got a recommendation and if they're that far along, just send me a DM or an email, like, hey, we should use this platform or apparatus. It's more trustworthy or credible. Cause the last thing I need is people thinking, like, man, they well, what if it go it catches and all of a sudden we raise like a hundred grand and and you know, next thing you know they're doing behind the the scenes with Vince and the newspapers at my door, like, where'd that hundred grand go? I'm like, I don't know what you're talking about, right? Like that's not what we're doing either, right? I don't know. That's just not I is it not profit out there. It's like, hey, you can use our platform to fundraise. I don't know. We'll see. We'll use the Bank of Brock. Yeah, we'll figure that out. It's gonna be good though. But that last part production, I think that's the part that on my workout today, right? I I was doing squat front squats, right? And kind of working through it and thinking and it's the weights building and loading. I'm getting so jacked because we're up to one thirty five at this point. And it feels like a max effort. I know that it's not anywhere near my heaviest front squat, but it feels like a max effort. front squatting long time. And you gotta measure it. You know, because this is this is your reality, right? And it speaks to the philosophy that I have is you want to be incredibly generous with your money and ruthless with your time. Right. You want give access to people that are willing to pursue really difficult, challenging, and hard things and make changes beyond the scope of what they're capable of. I think that's what I gravitate to, and that's why I enjoy the educational backdrop, school, stuff like that. And then doing things like this, because somebody's gonna benefit from it. It could be one guy or one gal that's gonna hear the message or see what we're doing or wanna be part of it, or be the benefit from hey, we we had the the new coffee thing and you know they need a cup of coffee be They're taking exam in the fall. I don't know, the new Curig, whatever. Right? So I think I think that's kind of what we're looking at and have to break primary. There's so many missions and so many resources, so many not-for-profits, so many things that are available. I think it's good thing. I think it's gonna be a good thing. Learn some things about us. Yeah. But then the question becomes like back to that ruthless with your time thing. It's like, how do you gain or give or offer a captive audience? And I think that's something that I teach teach well, man. And I echo that to to to definitely my brothers and sisters and veterans, right? It's like and you get you get to fall in line where you want to be in line. You don't have to wait in line anymore for much. You know, it's you're not a you're not in the military anymore. And it's a really, really good place or a good space to accelerate or grow out of. I I've yet to see within the peer group in those those classes their their their counterparts be beyond their scope of understanding your capacity. You know, they're usually on par. Some of the students might be a little more effective at being students because they've been doing it so long in the classroom kind of backdropper setting. But academically when it all goes in, right, the the veteran rises up and or outperforms many of their counterparts, especially in grad school. I've found a handful of veterans I've had in there. They outperform and I think it's the seriousness of it, right? They're looking at it as a professional or it's kind of a tradecraft thing and and it's a practitioner based degree. You're learning how to counsel. You're not becoming a a counselor theorist necessarily, though there is some theory and practice in the classes. You you're gonna test the practical application of the thing to see if you are full of the the required wits and skills and and sequencing and alignment and and and performance metrics, affect and inflection and tone and delivery of content. guiding and in practice with somebody asking those critical and timely questions about difficult topics in their story. You know, and I think that's what the job entails and I think that's what happens in there. I think the veterans that take to it, they get really good at it. Whether they go into mental health or they become they go into different programs, physical therapy or forensic stuff or education, whatever wherever they're going, right? Like it's it's could be a professional, be a good representation. You might be the only veteran that somebody knows or has reference of. No pressure. You know? I that's that's a recipe for success, right? But I I think that right, I dig it. The the three Ps. Plan, prepare, production. We're gonna tease that out work out. I know if it's gonna be three Ps or not, but it's happening. Podcast's gonna get a little better. We'll have multiple cameras. Jamie's just gonna swipe the big fancy credit card and kind of get some angles and different cameras going up at the the one office and see if we can deliver them better product, right? We're we're we're a percentile. We're in the top percentile podcasts. We made it to episode twenty two, right? We're one of the best, right? We didn't quit at episode three. Quitter, you know? Gorilla quitter. Yeah. It's all good. I don't know. I don't want to ramble too much, but I'm doing it. And that's okay too. That's okay too. But yeah, you gotta measure it. You gotta measure it. You gotta look at the quantitative and qualitative. That's those are the facts of the situation, right? And that applies to physical down through financial, every dimension of life. And I wouldn't get too caught up in measuring where you're at now in the race, right? There's no rush to the end and there's no big prize and There's people that won't even declare competition with you and things like that. You know? That's not how people are wired or work. This is about self-respect. It's about intersection, expression of what's important and values. You gotta defend all values, right? You don't have to defend everything anywhere, right? Like, you know, somebody mocks you, makes fun, or thinks this is stupid, or takes a shot at you or your personality. There's a couple questions to ask. One is like, what are you mocking me for? And I didn't pick you, you picked me. Number two is this there could be some credibility in that. Heed the message and take note of it. That's a beautiful. Helps you p plan and prepare and start measuring what actually matters in your production and what you you put out and what you create and the value. But the people that mock in public and then they'll try to apologize in person, they're just your hoe forever. You don't and you take the apology and be grateful and generous and gracious. Like, yeah, we've all made mistakes, said things, done things. Right. And you take that and and you just put in your bucket, you're like, Yeah. Private apology after a public mockery. And then you know you consider people that people that are close to you that you share information or things or hopes or dreams, and then it comes back full circle to you, or they're talking bad about you, or they're allowing somebody else to talk bad about you, and they're cosigning or laughing or chuckling. What are you gonna do? You're gonna get all upset and try to change everybody's opinion or mind and just eat it. Like, that's how they think and feel and pay attention and that's that's how they see the world. It's not a it's not a deal breaker. It's not a deal breaker at all, right? And because the data tells me the truth, the either category or grouping of people. Right? The data tells me that a good percentage of them got a vaccination. So you have zero to worry about in terms of their opinion. Like about their opinion of themselves. Right? Yeah. Thanks, Dr. Fauci. Yeah. That was great. Yeah. But that's what I would consider. You know, plan, prepare, production, right? And it's it's it's you're gonna be naive and you're courageous and you move on from the particular thing or the perception of who you are or what you're doing, right? Most folks you're gonna encounter that aren't pursuing much of anything are so amateur they just don't even know that they're amateurs. That's wild thing to me because we live in such an insulated and safe society that you're allowed to think and feel and be about things and stuff. And that's a good thing. It's a good thing. You get to be how you want to be and goofy and silly and out of line and your rudeness is protected in our civil society. And that's a that's a beautiful thing in my opinion. I think that's a really good thing for everybody. It doesn't particularly matter to me, but I think it's a good thing for for for everybody, right? But that's what we're gonna do. Brock's probably gonna want to quit around mile 10, and then I'm gonna have to pick up the slack. And you know, no big deal. Or maybe I'll wanna quit around mile 10. That could happen too. That could happen. It has happened, but then I finished it anyway. So, all good. Man, we'll keep going. We're in the top quintile percentile of podcast. I rambled all over the place for the last 16 minutes of your life. Thank you for listening. my mom's probably not gonna be impressed. She said she's gonna start listening again. She might not be impressed by this episode. We'll see. Cheers.
