- 0:05Speaker 2: You left l Well, you're hanging out with Daniel right now.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Daniel could have ran over to your house.
- 0:10Speaker 3: You know.
- 0:10Speaker 1: I watched the first YouTube video and I really didn't
- 0:13Speaker 1: like my hair. So I'm just gonna have to let
- 0:15Speaker 1: it go. Let it go, let it go.
- 0:18Speaker 4: Everyone's first reaction when they are video hits YouTube, They're like,
- 0:21Speaker 4: we got a new stylist.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Don't like it, Like we're hiring makeup to every single incident.
- 0:26Speaker 5: We gotta change you new better outfits.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Yeah, the reality of it, I think is well. I
- 0:30Speaker 1: was excited that it happened, don't get me wrong, but
- 0:33Speaker 1: I was obsessing about my hair, and I was like,
- 0:35Speaker 1: I can't. I'm not gonna be able to watch these
- 0:36Speaker 1: I'm too neurotic and in vain to be watching.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I'm really nervous to put these motherfuckers to see the
- 0:42Speaker 2: old shit when that hits the air and they see
- 0:46Speaker 2: how many times I wear how many times I wear
- 0:48Speaker 2: that damn sweatshirt?
- 0:49Speaker 1: Right, we weren't even trying then. I mean, there wasn't
- 0:55Speaker 1: any knowledge that those were going to be on the interweb.
- 0:58Speaker 1: So we didn't put any effort into like, at least
- 1:01Speaker 1: putting on a nice shirt like zero.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yeah, at least I'm wearing T shirts now. I said,
- 1:07Speaker 2: you know what, I'm gonna step up my game a
- 1:08Speaker 2: little bit. No more, motherfucking y.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I love that sweatshirt. I think the audience should make an.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Appearance here and there and stuff like that. But I
- 1:18Speaker 2: got to wear T shirts And then I started thinking,
- 1:20Speaker 2: do I need to cut my hair?
- 1:22Speaker 3: Is that?
- 1:22Speaker 1: What's really look great? You look great? By the way,
- 1:25Speaker 1: our new T mobile ad is running and uh and
- 1:27Speaker 1: I hear it. You haven't seen it. I hear it's
- 1:32Speaker 1: doing really well. I heard I heard from the from
- 1:34Speaker 1: the Big mcgilla's.
- 1:36Speaker 3: What they say. They said, tell me everything I want
- 1:39Speaker 3: to know.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Just that people really like it. They got a great
- 1:42Speaker 1: response from it. All you need to worry about is
- 1:44Speaker 1: whether the people like it enough for them to keep
- 1:47Speaker 1: hiring us to do more. And I feel like that's
- 1:49Speaker 1: happening well because it's fun. And that's and this one's
- 1:54Speaker 1: super silly. If you haven't seen this one, there's a
- 1:57Speaker 1: there's a moment where Donald's painting, and its supposed to
- 2:00Speaker 1: the joke he is that he's an amazing painter, and
- 2:02Speaker 1: he's painted me as a minotaur or a centaur. What's
- 2:06Speaker 1: the difference horse legs a centaur. Yeah, I'm a horse
- 2:10Speaker 1: body with a with a torso and I'm playing the
- 2:13Speaker 1: pan flute. What's a minotar mint? That's like I feel
- 2:18Speaker 1: like it's like mostly it's like a bowl, but it's
- 2:21Speaker 1: like bull legs human torso and then bull head. Well,
- 2:25Speaker 1: I'm a centaur and it's a beautiful painting that somebody
- 2:29Speaker 1: made me.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Hell is this dude? And motherfucking sorry, I hate to
- 2:32Speaker 3: do this. What is she and Narnia? Then?
- 2:36Speaker 1: Oh you're talking about like are you talking about the dear?
- 2:41Speaker 3: He has like god deer.
- 2:44Speaker 2: By goat boy's a fun guy.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Anyway, So listen, we made the ad, right, we made
- 2:53Speaker 1: the ad, and uh, I forgot if I brought this up.
- 2:55Speaker 1: If I did, I'm sorry. But I put the painting.
- 2:57Speaker 1: They gave me the painting and and I and I
- 3:00Speaker 1: said to myself, I'm only going to put this on
- 3:01Speaker 1: my mantlepiece for a little while as a joke. But
- 3:05Speaker 1: now it's been living there for a while and it's
- 3:06Speaker 1: pretty glorious.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Yeah, did they paint the pan flute.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Yeah, they put the pan flute. I'm playing the pan flute.
- 3:13Speaker 3: I love it. I love it. It's amazing. I love that.
- 3:16Speaker 3: We have a commercial on television.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it's nice. Nice, it's nice. Donald, it's Donald.
- 3:21Speaker 5: You haven't seen it. Or if they're international, what's happening
- 3:24Speaker 5: in the commercial.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I'm sure they can look on the If you're international,
- 3:29Speaker 1: no you can even if you.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Can vs VPN whatever.
- 3:33Speaker 1: No, you just go on the YouTube and the commercial
- 3:36Speaker 1: is Uh. It's talking about how the why you can
- 3:39Speaker 1: get the Wi Fi anywhere. There's these expanders now and
- 3:41Speaker 1: you can get it like in your backyard. You can
- 3:43Speaker 1: get it in your man cave, in your garage. Like
- 3:45Speaker 1: it expands the home Wi Fi to every nook and cranny.
- 3:48Speaker 3: It's like another dad spot is gone.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah, and we sing it to the to the tune
- 3:53Speaker 1: of uh to what's the song gone Holiday Road from.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Vacation, Oh Man or net from Timo.
- 4:02Speaker 1: But anyway, in one of the sketches, Donald is uh
- 4:06Speaker 1: is painting and actually there was a funny story, the
- 4:10Speaker 1: puppet story about how your puppet, your puppet purple.
- 4:14Speaker 3: We should tell that story.
- 4:15Speaker 2: So the guy who made the puppet rushed and was
- 4:19Speaker 2: doing it in like a.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Fluorescent lighting, fluorescent lightning.
- 4:23Speaker 2: He'd had fluorescent lights in it. And uh so he
- 4:27Speaker 2: built zach. I guess he doesn't have a problem billet
- 4:30Speaker 2: making foam the color of pete white pet Yeah, I guess.
- 4:38Speaker 3: But when it comes to black people.
- 4:40Speaker 1: The fluorescent light wait. Wait. In his defense, in his defense,
- 4:44Speaker 1: this was funny. It was funny though, in his defense,
- 4:47Speaker 1: it was their last minute thing, like, oh, we want
- 4:49Speaker 1: them to be taking a Ventriloquist lesson on online. It'll
- 4:53Speaker 1: be funny if they have puppets that look like themselves.
- 4:55Speaker 2: So you know in Hollywood they have puppet but not
- 4:57Speaker 2: vent triller Quist puppets, more like muppet puppet.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Yeah, but still a ventriloquist that you're doing this with
- 5:02Speaker 1: your hand thing.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yeah, but the ventriloquist thing is that it is like
- 5:06Speaker 2: a dummy with a mouth just opens up and.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Closes like that, all right, like muppet puppets. And yes,
- 5:11Speaker 1: there we got You know, in Hollywood, if you got
- 5:13Speaker 1: the money, someone will make someone who makes anything will
- 5:16Speaker 1: stay up all night and make it for you. And
- 5:18Speaker 1: this guy did that and it was amazing that when
- 5:20Speaker 1: he turned out in twenty four hours. But because he
- 5:23Speaker 1: had made it, he explained later, under fluorescent lights, he
- 5:26Speaker 1: got Donald's skin tone totally wrong. So when it showed up, oh,
- 5:30Speaker 1: he didn.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Get your skin tone even close to wrong though, Like
- 5:33Speaker 3: your skin tone was like.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Purp anyway, Donald was purple, and and we were like, yo,
- 5:40Speaker 1: you can't air this, like you guys gotta like skin correct.
- 5:44Speaker 1: And everyone was like, don't worry, don't worry. When in
- 5:47Speaker 1: post production will make him the exact beautiful brown skin
- 5:51Speaker 1: that Donald has. And indeed they did, but no one
- 5:54Speaker 1: will never see purple Donald. With me, it was funny. Yeah,
- 5:59Speaker 1: I love that.
- 6:00Speaker 3: You want to know what's fucked up? It was eggplant
- 6:03Speaker 3: purple too.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Yeah, like the eggplant emoji. Dobly it goes deep, Joel,
- 6:11Speaker 1: how's life it goes? How's like? Everybody, what's going on?
- 6:16Speaker 1: What have you been doing? What have you been up to?
- 6:18Speaker 3: So I went and saw Deadpool and Wolverine again again?
- 6:21Speaker 1: Second time? You really liked it?
- 6:23Speaker 3: Two times? I did, And I liked it better the
- 6:25Speaker 3: second time than I did the first time.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Joell, have you been yet?
- 6:29Speaker 3: Oh?
- 6:31Speaker 1: Yeah, she has her feelings. Yeah she doesn't like Yeah, yeah,
- 6:36Speaker 1: Joelle has her feelings. Let her feel her feelings. Donald, Okay,
- 6:41Speaker 1: you saw it the second time. It's an important movie.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Do you really like it?
- 6:46Speaker 2: It's not an important movie to me, but I did enjoy.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I did enjoy. I enjoyed the violence. I'm not gonna lie.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Did you bring your children toolence?
- 6:57Speaker 3: They have also seen Somebody? Okay?
- 6:59Speaker 1: Are you okay with showing your kids all that gore?
- 7:04Speaker 1: I guess yes.
- 7:06Speaker 3: You know, I'm gonna be honest with you.
- 7:08Speaker 2: It's hard to hide any of the ship anyway because
- 7:11Speaker 2: it's in and I mean unless I keep them on
- 7:15Speaker 2: like Radio Disney.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Or some shit like that. I mean, you know, it's
- 7:19Speaker 3: impossible remind us how old your kids are. My kids
- 7:23Speaker 3: are eleven and nine.
- 7:27Speaker 5: This seems reasonable to me.
- 7:28Speaker 4: I was watching equally violent as violent films at that age.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Dude, I was watching way worse.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I was watching sex scenes when I was young age
- 7:36Speaker 2: and stuff like that, like let's keep.
- 7:37Speaker 3: It one hundred.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Did your mom not lean across you to try to
- 7:40Speaker 1: shield your eyes?
- 7:42Speaker 2: No, I was watching the camera with the like where
- 7:44Speaker 2: it was scrambled and stuff like that.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Do you remember the first was the first pair of
- 7:48Speaker 1: boobs you saw in a movie?
- 7:49Speaker 2: Do you remember the first pair of boobs. It was
- 7:51Speaker 2: DC Cat maybe it was DC Cab, I don't know.
- 7:58Speaker 1: The mud wrestling scene and stripes it was the first
- 8:00Speaker 1: time I saw them.
- 8:01Speaker 2: It was the shower scene in Porky's, which was a
- 8:04Speaker 2: peeping Tomson.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, well.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Was great.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Kate Winslet and Titanic was the first time you saw boobies.
- 8:15Speaker 3: That's a very tame, tame ten.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Oh my god, Donald, doesn't that make you feel old? Wait?
- 8:22Speaker 1: Does Kate Winslen show her naked breast in Titanic? She shows, yeah, yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 1: like one of her French girls.
- 8:29Speaker 5: So does James Cameron's hand. No, she's like fully topless.
- 8:36Speaker 1: But she doesn't show her below the belt. Amercan area.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Never shows.
- 8:44Speaker 1: That makes me feel really old that the first breast
- 8:46Speaker 1: you saw were in Titanic. Speaking of which, Donald and
- 8:55Speaker 1: I are on Millionaire tonight now that god yeah, God,
- 8:58Speaker 1: God knows when this is so good?
- 9:01Speaker 3: It was this isn't gonna this isn't gonna air tonight,
- 9:04Speaker 3: so we can.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Say that we will have we got as far as
- 9:08Speaker 1: we could. I'm proud of you guys.
- 9:14Speaker 4: Did anything across the alligator line from your last live
- 9:18Speaker 4: game show?
- 9:18Speaker 2: No, no, no, they got us some some books, but
- 9:22Speaker 2: I had only watched this fucking show.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I was look, this is it was the It was
- 9:28Speaker 1: the David David beck When.
- 9:30Speaker 3: We were in trouble, he brings up, he goes the
- 9:33Speaker 3: name of you.
- 9:34Speaker 2: It stars you know, David the soccer player, and Zach
- 9:37Speaker 2: and I both go, who the fuck is David?
- 9:40Speaker 1: Like no, no, No. I was like, oh, I started
- 9:45Speaker 1: that fucking documentary and if I had only finished it,
- 9:48Speaker 1: I could have got us one more level.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 9:52Speaker 1: And it was about I guess she's she I learned
- 9:56Speaker 1: through doing a Millionaire. She does a dance that in
- 9:59Speaker 1: the docum memory for David Posh spice that yeah, and
- 10:04Speaker 1: and Victoria Beckham and and then that became a TikTok trend.
- 10:08Speaker 1: And the question is what was the song? Do you
- 10:10Speaker 1: guys know the song? No?
- 10:13Speaker 3: Yeah, because none of y'all watch that bullshita.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Do you remember this moment she does dance for no yeah?
- 10:23Speaker 1: I do, but I don't remember what? All Right, Well,
- 10:25Speaker 1: you may have gotten it if you had four choices
- 10:27Speaker 1: in front of you, but maybe, but Donald and I
- 10:29Speaker 1: had not, had not seen it, and so we were
- 10:33Speaker 1: at a loss. No wait, and I think we pulled
- 10:35Speaker 1: the audience Donald and they.
- 10:38Speaker 3: No, but this is what you made a mistake.
- 10:40Speaker 2: You went, you said, I think it's island.
- 10:49Speaker 3: You said, I think.
- 10:49Speaker 2: It's that, which automatically made gives them and they told
- 10:54Speaker 2: us this backstage. Your best bet is to not say
- 10:58Speaker 2: which one you think it is right before they right
- 11:02Speaker 2: before you handed off to the audience, because you automatically influenced.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Influenced where we pulled the audience because and you did that,
- 11:09Speaker 1: and I said, all ze, Jimmy actually said, Jimmy said,
- 11:12Speaker 1: I think this is a good one to pull the
- 11:14Speaker 1: audience because the dock at the time we shot was
- 11:16Speaker 1: had been very very popular. And I agreed with Jimmy
- 11:19Speaker 1: because none of them but they know the poll ended
- 11:23Speaker 1: up being like the highest number in the poll was
- 11:25Speaker 1: thirty percent, and the next one was like twenty eight percent.
- 11:29Speaker 1: So we went with the thirty percent and it was wrong.
- 11:32Speaker 2: And the twenty eight percent was wrong too, though it
- 11:34Speaker 2: was yes, percent was wrong to the twenty eight percent
- 11:38Speaker 2: was the one that we were trying to go that
- 11:40Speaker 2: we were going back and forth with saying I think
- 11:42Speaker 2: it's this one.
- 11:42Speaker 1: No, I think it's By the way, we were on
- 11:44Speaker 1: a tear for a second, we were on a tear
- 11:45Speaker 1: and it was such a high. You were on a tear, bro,
- 11:49Speaker 1: you were crushed.
- 11:50Speaker 6: I was on, I was in the I was in
- 11:51Speaker 6: the lights like this we all.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I knew there was going to be a moment from
- 11:59Speaker 1: watching Millionaire and just regular Millionaire that there's a moment
- 12:02Speaker 1: where they just go, you're not getting our money. We're
- 12:04Speaker 1: going into the next level, Like fuck you. It's going
- 12:06Speaker 1: to be so hard. I knew we were going to
- 12:08Speaker 1: reach that spot. But to be taken out by not
- 12:11Speaker 1: knowing a song from a Beckham documentary that bummed me out.
- 12:14Speaker 3: But that's well, come on, that's how it goes. That's
- 12:17Speaker 3: what it is, man. That's like.
- 12:18Speaker 2: That's like people saying they there's a legit amount of
- 12:22Speaker 2: people that have never seen Star Wars now, and it's acceptable.
- 12:26Speaker 2: It's acceptable. It ain't like the nineteen eighties anymore. If
- 12:29Speaker 2: it was nineteen eighty and you said eighty four and
- 12:31Speaker 2: you said I'd never seen Star Wars, I think everybody'd
- 12:34Speaker 2: be like, you're out of your fucking mind, bro, what
- 12:37Speaker 2: But it's you know, it's twenty twenty five.
- 12:38Speaker 1: I've listening that you got. I have to recommend I
- 12:41Speaker 1: think I've said this in the podcast again everyone, you
- 12:44Speaker 1: can obviously read this book, but I'm really enjoying listening
- 12:46Speaker 1: to it because the guy who reads it's amazing. It's
- 12:48Speaker 1: called Easy Riders Raging Bulls, and it's all about the
- 12:52Speaker 1: filmmakers that came out of the late sixties and seventies,
- 12:55Speaker 1: including Donald's hero George Lucas, and there's fascinating stories about
- 12:58Speaker 1: after he made Cha and it wasn't a hit, he
- 13:02Speaker 1: was so pissed off. He wanted to make sort of
- 13:05Speaker 1: avant garde art science movies like that, and they were like,
- 13:09Speaker 1: come on, man, you got to make something commercial. And
- 13:11Speaker 1: he's like, oh, what is this copel and sid yes,
- 13:14Speaker 1: everyone said it to him.
- 13:15Speaker 3: You gotta His best friends were Spielberg.
- 13:19Speaker 1: And everyone was like, dude, you're making movies that are
- 13:21Speaker 1: two avant guard there's gonna be no audience from you.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Gotta make something commercial. And he's like, it's so easy
- 13:29Speaker 1: to made a commercial movie. He's like, I can make
- 13:31Speaker 1: any I can make a commercial movie in a second.
- 13:34Speaker 1: And then he finally goes, all right, I'll show you,
- 13:37Speaker 1: and he makes American Graffiti and it's an enormously popular movie,
- 13:41Speaker 1: and he sort of proved everyone, and so then when
- 13:44Speaker 1: he finally made Star Wars, he figured out, like, oh,
- 13:46Speaker 1: let me blend those two skill sets making something commercial
- 13:49Speaker 1: but also in the sci fi world, Like anyway, I
- 13:51Speaker 1: think you'd love you'd love the Star Wars parts of
- 13:53Speaker 1: the book.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Donald, I'm gonna tell you something right now. I love
- 13:56Speaker 2: everything about George Lucas. I love his imagination. If it
- 14:02Speaker 2: wasn't for George Lucas's imagination, a lot of us that
- 14:07Speaker 2: are my age wouldn't have heroes like who we just
- 14:11Speaker 2: had on the podcast, Billy D Will Billy D. You know,
- 14:14Speaker 2: you know, things like that wouldn't exist, uh, because there
- 14:20Speaker 2: were I don't even think in Star Trek there were
- 14:22Speaker 2: black people you know at the.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Time, Yes there was.
- 14:27Speaker 3: That's it. That's right. I take that back, cut that down.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I want you to leave it and prove that you're wrong.
- 14:34Speaker 1: We should also see The Bad Monkeys out. I don't
- 14:36Speaker 1: know when this is going to air, but Bad Monkeys
- 14:38Speaker 1: out and.
- 14:39Speaker 3: It's definitely out by October.
- 14:40Speaker 1: It's great reviews. I'm happy for Bill. It's crushing it
- 14:46Speaker 1: on the Rotten Tomatoes, which you never know which way
- 14:48Speaker 1: that's going to go. But Bill's killing it again.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Thunder Supplause, Daniel thundersuppl.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Friend, Lawrence, check it out. You're gonna really like it.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I hear that.
- 14:59Speaker 1: You're I'm in it. I'm in it for like a
- 15:03Speaker 1: handful of episodes. I can't really say much for my
- 15:05Speaker 1: character because everything involving my character is a spoiler. But
- 15:08Speaker 1: come check it out, everybody bad monkey on Apple TV.
- 15:11Speaker 1: You should probably let Heather Graham, the legendary, the legendary
- 15:17Speaker 1: actress in is she here?
- 15:18Speaker 5: Oh?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Hell that beauty?
- 15:21Speaker 2: Before we do that seven stories, I'm not sure.
- 15:25Speaker 1: We made about a bunch of talks and nurses.
- 15:32Speaker 7: I said, here's a story, so YadA round here, yeada here.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Oh wow? Why do you even begin with Heather Graham?
- 15:49Speaker 1: Her career is so epic.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I mean, I know where to begin.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Get out of my dreams, get him my baby, and
- 15:58Speaker 1: into my car. Heather has an incredible career that we
- 16:05Speaker 1: could spend five hours talking about. But it all began
- 16:08Speaker 1: with the two corries.
- 16:10Speaker 3: It began before that, I'm sure.
- 16:11Speaker 1: But but but when she began changing.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Lives shanging this was so good.
- 16:16Speaker 1: You began changing lives, Heather, when you're when you showed
- 16:20Speaker 1: up with the two Corries.
- 16:21Speaker 3: And the license to drive their first movie together.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Was that their first movie together?
- 16:26Speaker 5: I'm pretty she done lost boys. I think they did lost.
- 16:30Speaker 3: They were older and lost there.
- 16:32Speaker 5: You might be right.
- 16:33Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Donald Donald knows his Corey's trivia.
- 16:36Speaker 5: Donald, you right, Joelle looking it up.
- 16:40Speaker 1: That's why our beautiful producer will handle this. Heather, it's
- 16:44Speaker 1: so great to have you on the podcast. We love
- 16:46Speaker 1: you so much.
- 16:47Speaker 5: You guys are so fun.
- 16:48Speaker 4: I feel all your positive energy the minute you started
- 16:50Speaker 4: singing to me. I mean, this was amazing.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Well, you're the perfect guest because not only were you
- 16:54Speaker 1: a part of Scrubs, but you have such an amazing
- 16:58Speaker 1: career where you've done so many different things.
- 17:01Speaker 4: And of course, I tell you guys, recently, I've been
- 17:03Speaker 4: having a lot of Scrubs fans come up to me.
- 17:05Speaker 5: All right.
- 17:05Speaker 4: I went to Italy like and the s girl was like,
- 17:08Speaker 4: I love Scrubs, you know, And I've had all these
- 17:11Speaker 4: different Scrubs people coming up to me.
- 17:13Speaker 5: So Scrubs has made a big impact.
- 17:15Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, we're so good on the show.
- 17:18Speaker 2: You were really funny on This was originally a rewatch podcast,
- 17:22Speaker 2: so we got to rewatch every.
- 17:23Speaker 4: EPISO, and then you guys got too popular. Do you
- 17:25Speaker 4: guys just miss each other so you want to just
- 17:26Speaker 4: hang out all the time.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Yes, that's basically the point of this, Heather. It began
- 17:30Speaker 1: as a rewatch podcast, but then we ran out of
- 17:32Speaker 1: Scrubs episode. So then it was like, well, Donald is
- 17:34Speaker 1: so flaky that if I don't schedule a time to
- 17:37Speaker 1: see him once a week, I'll never see him. And
- 17:40Speaker 1: so this is basically so we hired iHeart to allow
- 17:44Speaker 1: us to see each other once a week, and then
- 17:46Speaker 1: we invite fun people that we love onto the show
- 17:49Speaker 1: and we shoot the shit with them for an hour
- 17:52Speaker 1: or so. But people like to know store genesis stories, Heather,
- 17:56Speaker 1: So we want to just go through some of the
- 17:59Speaker 1: beginning parts. How did was was it licensed to drive?
- 18:02Speaker 1: Your first big part movie?
- 18:05Speaker 3: Start? Okay, let's go all right.
- 18:08Speaker 5: I auditioned, I was in high school.
- 18:09Speaker 4: I auditioned, and I you know, of course I was
- 18:12Speaker 4: a fan of the Quarries, and it blew my mind
- 18:14Speaker 4: that I got to work with the Quarries. Yeah, and
- 18:18Speaker 4: I got to drive onto the twentieth century Fox lot.
- 18:20Speaker 4: I mean, I'm sure you guys can relate like that.
- 18:21Speaker 4: First time you got your first big job and your
- 18:24Speaker 4: drive to work and like you have a pass and
- 18:26Speaker 4: you drive on You're like, they hired me.
- 18:27Speaker 5: This is so crazy.
- 18:29Speaker 1: You can't do before that?
- 18:30Speaker 3: Were you were? You? Were you?
- 18:32Speaker 5: I did a few commercials, No I did. I did
- 18:35Speaker 5: a few commercials. I did a hair commercial.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Then I did a like a Disney Sunday Night movie
- 18:40Speaker 4: that actually O. J.
- 18:41Speaker 5: Simpson was in.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Them and the juice.
- 18:46Speaker 4: What it was it was called Foreign Exchange and it
- 18:50Speaker 4: was about these two nerdy kids at school. They're so
- 18:52Speaker 4: nerdy and they pretend to be Foreign Exchange students so
- 18:55Speaker 4: they could you know, be cooler and get dates and
- 18:59Speaker 4: uh the other person it was and it was you
- 19:01Speaker 4: know that really successful director.
- 19:02Speaker 5: His name is like Todd Field. Do you know him?
- 19:05Speaker 5: He did like in the Bedroom or yeah, Tom was
- 19:08Speaker 5: also acted in it. Yeah, am I saying his name wrong?
- 19:13Speaker 3: Todd Phillips, No, Todd Phillips.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Because him Joe Well will know and the hangover we're
- 19:20Speaker 1: going to get. She's worked with a lot of good directors,
- 19:23Speaker 1: Todd Field.
- 19:24Speaker 4: Todd Field a very successful director, just like Zach Brath.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Right, So, well, I don't know about that. What were
- 19:33Speaker 1: the Cory's like I mean you were with them during
- 19:35Speaker 1: their Corey heyday were they were they nice men? Young boys?
- 19:40Speaker 4: I mean I think, look, they were a lot more
- 19:43Speaker 4: worldly than me.
- 19:44Speaker 5: I basically was like going to high school parties.
- 19:46Speaker 4: They were I think probably doing drugs, you know, like, uh,
- 19:50Speaker 4: Corey haym was dating Lala Zappa, who's so glamorous. Her
- 19:54Speaker 4: dad is like this rock star, and I just felt
- 19:57Speaker 4: like super like nerdy compared to them, right.
- 20:01Speaker 1: And how old were you at that? How old were you?
- 20:02Speaker 5: Do you remember I was seventeen.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I was seventeen, and you had beautiful curls. I remember
- 20:08Speaker 1: it was the eighties.
- 20:09Speaker 4: So I really I did I have did I did
- 20:12Speaker 4: have a permit one point, but I really curled that
- 20:15Speaker 4: hair like a.
- 20:15Speaker 5: Lot, like it was just it was very curly.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Yeah, well I must have been flyering.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I'll never forget seeing that poster for the first time
- 20:23Speaker 2: with Corey Haynes holding the keys and freaking Fellman on
- 20:27Speaker 2: the other side, and then the freaking.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Your car.
- 20:31Speaker 2: It's not even his car that's in the commercial. I
- 20:34Speaker 2: mean in the poster, it's your car that you drive
- 20:36Speaker 2: up in at the end of the movie with and
- 20:39Speaker 2: you and you and your poofy dress. I'll never forget
- 20:42Speaker 2: my first time seeing that and being like, I'm going
- 20:45Speaker 2: to see that movie.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Were no.
- 20:50Speaker 4: High heels with socks on in that first you know,
- 20:53Speaker 4: because you doesn't want to wear socks with their high heels.
- 20:55Speaker 5: You know.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Donald and I were definitely the target demo. Were the
- 21:00Speaker 1: target demo for so many movies you were in, You've
- 21:02Speaker 1: been in.
- 21:04Speaker 5: Funny.
- 21:05Speaker 3: I feel like we've grown up together.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Right with you being a sex know you were, You've
- 21:11Speaker 1: been a sex symbol your whole career, and whenever you
- 21:14Speaker 1: were being a sex symbol, the marketing department was aiming
- 21:18Speaker 1: straight at Donald and me.
- 21:20Speaker 3: They had.
- 21:28Speaker 1: All right, So then you get a total opposite from
- 21:31Speaker 1: a commercial movie. You get like this indie mega hit,
- 21:34Speaker 1: uh Gus Van Sant drug Store Cowboy? How did and
- 21:37Speaker 1: you you, uh well, how did that come about? That
- 21:40Speaker 1: was that's like an indie classic.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Well, just auditioning, you know, I auditioned for it, and
- 21:47Speaker 4: uh you know how it goes with auditioning.
- 21:49Speaker 5: It's terrifying. You never know if anyone will ever call
- 21:51Speaker 5: you back.
- 21:52Speaker 4: But I got it, and so that kind of introduced
- 21:54Speaker 4: me to the arty world of cool independent movie right.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Yeah. But It's interesting that right off the bat you
- 22:01Speaker 1: went you did two super polar ops. You did like
- 22:04Speaker 1: the ultimate commercial movie and it's a hit. And then
- 22:07Speaker 1: you go do like a little indie darling and it's
- 22:09Speaker 1: a hit. Like you must have been feeling yourself.
- 22:11Speaker 4: No, it was a really good It was not yeah,
- 22:14Speaker 4: because I mean also, look, it helped.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Me make money and become independent.
- 22:17Speaker 4: I was like a little teenage girl and suddenly I
- 22:19Speaker 4: could just you know, pay for my life.
- 22:22Speaker 8: It was.
- 22:22Speaker 5: It was an amazing moment.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Then you get a really big Calvin Klein ad directed
- 22:29Speaker 1: by David Lynch. You really did a lot of research,
- 22:41Speaker 1: and she does research as a good producer does. But
- 22:43Speaker 1: a lot of this I knew. I didn't. I had
- 22:45Speaker 1: to do things.
- 22:46Speaker 3: We remember all these things.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Not everything. I knew those two ones. But the Benithia
- 22:49Speaker 1: Thetoral commercial I had to go watch on YouTube. Watched,
- 22:55Speaker 1: of course, an audience, if you're listening, go watch the
- 22:58Speaker 1: YouTube commercial.
- 23:00Speaker 3: They's very sexy Benicio commercial. Watching YouTube.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Watched the Calvin Klein commercial directed by David Lynch, starring
- 23:08Speaker 1: Benicio del Toro and Heather Gramm. It's very sexy.
- 23:11Speaker 4: And I think this was before Benizio ever actually did
- 23:14Speaker 4: that anything.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Maybe it was just a he looked like a model.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I don't know if he was a known actor yet.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Was this probably.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Or after?
- 23:22Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, this was way before.
- 23:23Speaker 4: This is probably like nineteen ninety one or something like that, or.
- 23:28Speaker 2: He's around that time too. Yeah, same thing.
- 23:32Speaker 5: You have a good memory, Donald.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I just remember about that.
- 23:35Speaker 3: I just remember my age.
- 23:37Speaker 5: For he remember Mark Wahlberg's underwear commercials.
- 23:42Speaker 1: That was a well, yeah, those were very impact.
- 23:44Speaker 3: That was every It was in Times Square. I grew
- 23:47Speaker 3: up in town.
- 23:47Speaker 5: It really was.
- 23:48Speaker 1: And he looked grady. He had abs and yeah, that
- 23:52Speaker 1: was and I.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Remember every girl in New York was like and I
- 23:57Speaker 2: was like, shit, I need to get abs like that.
- 23:59Speaker 2: I've never been able to catch Mark Wahlberg though, you know.
- 24:02Speaker 3: What I mean.
- 24:02Speaker 4: Never when I read an article about him and said
- 24:04Speaker 4: he gets up at like three thirty in the.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Morning, he gets up at like three thirty in the
- 24:08Speaker 1: morning to work out the fuck around.
- 24:09Speaker 3: You guys work together.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Yeah, we're gonna get to that.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Don't rush, don't rush, let's slow down.
- 24:15Speaker 4: I don't sing more songs, though, I'm hoping there's like
- 24:17Speaker 4: a little more more more songs from you.
- 24:20Speaker 3: When we go to commercial break, we'll do it.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Yeah, you'll get away, Heather. I want to talk to
- 24:25Speaker 1: Donald and I one of our favorite movies and I
- 24:27Speaker 1: just got to work with him for the first time,
- 24:29Speaker 1: But one of our favorite movies is Swingers, and you
- 24:34Speaker 1: were also in that again being the object of every
- 24:38Speaker 1: male's dreams, right, Donald, I.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Feel so I'm getting very flattered and uh, you know
- 24:49Speaker 4: he was being on I don't.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Heather, you laugh, but this is I mean, there's a reason.
- 24:55Speaker 2: You know, it's not just you're beautiful, but your talent is.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Yeah, you're obviously it's very good at and you're very fine.
- 25:03Speaker 5: It's so nice talking to you.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Thanks tell us about Swingers because we love that movie.
- 25:07Speaker 5: Game a warm inside from this podcast what we do here?
- 25:10Speaker 1: Billy Billy Williams. Billy D. Williams felt the same way.
- 25:14Speaker 1: What do you tell us about the making of Swingers?
- 25:17Speaker 4: Well, basically, I worked with John Favreau on this showtime
- 25:22Speaker 4: like short little movie, and.
- 25:25Speaker 5: He said, oh, I'm going to do this movie.
- 25:26Speaker 4: And basically, you know, they only had two hundred and
- 25:29Speaker 4: fifty thousand dollars to make this movie.
- 25:30Speaker 5: Can you imagine that?
- 25:32Speaker 1: I mean, I mean it's insane how good it is.
- 25:35Speaker 1: And they made it for nothing.
- 25:37Speaker 5: They made it for.
- 25:37Speaker 4: Nothing, and we were shooting in locations like a bar
- 25:40Speaker 4: where just normal people are there for the night.
- 25:41Speaker 5: They didn't shut it down and put extras in there.
- 25:44Speaker 3: It was with film.
- 25:45Speaker 4: I mean, it's crazy, Like I don't know how they
- 25:48Speaker 4: made it for that amount of money. And they you know,
- 25:50Speaker 4: like we were shooting the derby and everyone was just there.
- 25:52Speaker 4: They were just there out and the camera just kind
- 25:54Speaker 4: of was hidden and nobody really noticed it. So we
- 25:57Speaker 4: just shot with the open restaurant, open bar. People were
- 25:59Speaker 4: just out for the night.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Right. That's amazing, that's great. And it was such a
- 26:04Speaker 1: it was such an I mean, I don't know. We again,
- 26:08Speaker 1: Donald and I were the perfect target demo for that movie.
- 26:10Speaker 1: And and you know, I know, darn Donald, you were
- 26:12Speaker 1: probably living that life already. I just moved to La.
- 26:16Speaker 3: I'll never forget. I will never forget.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I had the club. I remember that I put the
- 26:21Speaker 1: club on.
- 26:22Speaker 2: My I was in I was I had just moved
- 26:25Speaker 2: to La from New York and I was doing Clueless,
- 26:28Speaker 2: the television show, and breck and Meyer was guest starring
- 26:32Speaker 2: on it and some other dude was guest starring on
- 26:37Speaker 2: it also, and they were talking about Swingers and I
- 26:41Speaker 2: remember being like, what the fuck is swingers? And they
- 26:44Speaker 2: were like, Yo, it's this movie. It stars this guy,
- 26:48Speaker 2: Vince Vaughn. Like Brecon was real good with names. Him
- 26:50Speaker 2: and Seth best our best Seth Green are best friends,
- 26:53Speaker 2: but these real good with names. And so he was like,
- 26:56Speaker 2: it stars Vince Vaughn and this dude, John Favreau, and
- 27:00Speaker 2: you should see it. It's about, you know, living life
- 27:02Speaker 2: in la And I was like, yeah, okay, whatever. So
- 27:05Speaker 2: the ship comes out on VHS and I get it
- 27:09Speaker 2: and I watch it, and holy fuck, like it blew
- 27:14Speaker 2: my mind. I was like, I was literally living that
- 27:16Speaker 2: life at the time. I wasn't going on Jerby, I
- 27:20Speaker 2: wasn't going to the Dresden and all of that, but
- 27:23Speaker 2: I was doing something very similar that.
- 27:25Speaker 3: Where it was Jerry's Deli or you know what I mean.
- 27:28Speaker 3: I was just young guy.
- 27:30Speaker 5: In Hollywood, trying to be cool.
- 27:32Speaker 2: And trying to bag babes, trying trying to get trying
- 27:37Speaker 2: to be actors too. I mean, well not even just actors,
- 27:40Speaker 2: some stand up some directors. You could see all of
- 27:43Speaker 2: their paths, you know, what I mean, and which way
- 27:45Speaker 2: they wanted to go.
- 27:46Speaker 3: It was very it like lived.
- 27:48Speaker 2: I was like, holy fuck, Like Fav and Vince both
- 27:52Speaker 2: spoke to me, like even the dude who played Sue,
- 27:55Speaker 2: Like all of these motherfuckers.
- 27:57Speaker 3: They spoke to me like.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I was like, I'm this the whole beef with the
- 28:02Speaker 2: guy and pulling the gun and now we're gonna now
- 28:04Speaker 2: one of.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Us is gonna die.
- 28:06Speaker 1: That shit, shit like that happened, you know, you know
- 28:09Speaker 1: what I mean. Shit can't happen.
- 28:11Speaker 2: It's not that shit could happen. Shit like that happened.
- 28:14Speaker 2: And it was like, Wow, this is this is this
- 28:18Speaker 2: is my life. But just white dudes are living in Yeah.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Well they had a black friend. There was a black
- 28:25Speaker 1: friend in the group.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but he was you know, yeah, Alex, he was
- 28:29Speaker 2: he was He was a neglected black dude, you know
- 28:31Speaker 2: what I mean. He was the one black dude that
- 28:33Speaker 2: hung out with all the white people, you know what
- 28:35Speaker 2: I mean, which was kind of like my life too.
- 28:37Speaker 2: But you know, hey, let's take a break.
- 28:40Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words.
- 28:45Speaker 4: Is that.
- 28:48Speaker 1: All right? So that's ninety six. Then your life changes
- 28:52Speaker 1: because you get one of the biggest parts I imagine
- 28:54Speaker 1: of your career because everybody knows Boogie Knights and you
- 28:57Speaker 1: were infamously roller Girl. That movie was just incredible and
- 29:03Speaker 1: I don't know it was it fun to make? Was it?
- 29:06Speaker 3: Yeah, let's the cast alone?
- 29:09Speaker 1: What was your experience?
- 29:11Speaker 5: That was a great moment.
- 29:12Speaker 4: It was a great moment where you know, your auditioning,
- 29:15Speaker 4: you want people to hire you, nothing's really happening, and
- 29:17Speaker 4: then suddenly and you know, doing swingers.
- 29:19Speaker 5: I didn't think anything was going to come out.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Of that because I'm just like, Okay, this movie has
- 29:23Speaker 4: no studio attached to two hundred and fifty thousand dollars budget.
- 29:26Speaker 5: But getting cast in that movie, it was a very.
- 29:29Speaker 4: Exciting time and just I love the script and Paul
- 29:32Speaker 4: is so passionate, and it was it was really cool.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Just creatively, it felt really you know, exciting.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Did you know you were going to have to work
- 29:41Speaker 3: like that?
- 29:42Speaker 2: Like you came to work, like you literally put your
- 29:44Speaker 2: hard hat on, you bought the lunch box in and
- 29:46Speaker 2: you went to I.
- 29:47Speaker 4: Mean I was like going from you know, I had
- 29:50Speaker 4: done a few jobs, but I was like, oh my god,
- 29:52Speaker 4: I want a career.
- 29:52Speaker 5: So I really wanted this, you know, I wanted to
- 29:55Speaker 5: do good work and hopefully get it you work.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Did you know how to roller skate?
- 30:00Speaker 5: No, I had to have a coach.
- 30:05Speaker 1: How about all the nudity? What you had to do
- 30:07Speaker 1: was that, because you know, there's regularly.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Sometimes it was scary, Like at that point I had
- 30:11Speaker 4: never done any In fact, I think I had been
- 30:13Speaker 4: offered a few things that I'd turned down because it
- 30:15Speaker 4: was like the nudity, and and then I was just thinking,
- 30:18Speaker 4: what maybe I should just do it, you know. And
- 30:20Speaker 4: so that was the first time I ever did it,
- 30:22Speaker 4: and I was slightly terrified, but I knew it was special.
- 30:25Speaker 4: But I remember I actually went on like Adam Carolla
- 30:28Speaker 4: had a show and he was like, oh my god,
- 30:29Speaker 4: you're doing a movie about the porn industry. Oh my god,
- 30:32Speaker 4: Like he was making fun of it and acting like that's,
- 30:34Speaker 4: you know, so exploitive or whatever. But at that time,
- 30:37Speaker 4: it wasn't cool to make movies about that kind of
- 30:39Speaker 4: subject matter, which now I feel like it's much more normal.
- 30:42Speaker 4: But at that time people were like.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Whoa, well, he did such a good job. And it
- 30:46Speaker 1: wasn't just about the p industry. He did such a
- 30:48Speaker 1: good job. It was I mean, it was about so
- 30:50Speaker 1: much more than the Porland.
- 30:52Speaker 3: It was more.
- 30:53Speaker 4: No, I mean it was good. He just did a
- 30:55Speaker 4: good job and it was good. But it was terrifying
- 30:57Speaker 4: to be naked for sure.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Yeah, because there's nuty me in sex scenes where you're like,
- 31:01Speaker 1: you know, people are used to that. Okay, we might
- 31:02Speaker 1: see a little bit of your breast or or you know,
- 31:04Speaker 1: your butt or whatever. You had to be like rolling
- 31:07Speaker 1: a roller roller grilling around, and I'm sure maybe maybe
- 31:11Speaker 1: you get used to it. I don't know at a
- 31:12Speaker 1: certain point, just like what about you?
- 31:14Speaker 5: Have you ever? Have you guys done nudity?
- 31:15Speaker 3: What nes when I have to do that, I've done?
- 31:19Speaker 1: Well, I haven't. We you know, men don't often show
- 31:21Speaker 1: their penises. That's the rare actor who shows their guys.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Adam Divine shows his in Hey, How's it Go?
- 31:30Speaker 1: And Jason Siegel in What's it called? Donald forgetting Sea Marshall,
- 31:37Speaker 1: And I feel like you have need to. I'd be
- 31:42Speaker 1: too nervous because we men, Heather, I don't want to
- 31:46Speaker 1: no spoilers, but we we change sizes depending on temperature.
- 31:53Speaker 3: But you can show, but I've shown.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Donald showed scrubs. I think I would show, but you know,
- 32:01Speaker 1: in a lot of sex scenes you see these days
- 32:03Speaker 1: when when like they're doing like a hardcore sex scene,
- 32:06Speaker 1: the men all show their butt, their butts like rising
- 32:08Speaker 1: up in the air, like they're very free with their butt,
- 32:11Speaker 1: but penis is tough to show.
- 32:13Speaker 4: Well, no, they showed it in that movie what was
- 32:15Speaker 4: it called Shame or something with Fastbender.
- 32:19Speaker 5: You know, there are some movies where they're show that they.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Should be the first Deadpool.
- 32:25Speaker 3: They showed Dick.
- 32:27Speaker 1: In Sultburn.
- 32:28Speaker 2: They show ran when he's burning and he blows up
- 32:31Speaker 2: the room and he's in the tank button naked.
- 32:33Speaker 3: He jumps over and there's ball and shaft hanging.
- 32:37Speaker 1: But that might not be really his, that might not be.
- 32:39Speaker 3: It doesn't matter they show it. You know.
- 32:42Speaker 5: I appreciate that it's not just women, but no, you're right.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Sulburn is probably the most graphic example of that.
- 32:50Speaker 1: And I believe in in Boogie Knights, Mark Wahlberg wears
- 32:53Speaker 1: a prosthetic because yeah.
- 32:54Speaker 4: He's wearing a prosthetic for sure, and I think when
- 32:56Speaker 4: the movie was over he capped it or something, because
- 32:59Speaker 4: you know, and you want to keep that, which, by
- 33:02Speaker 4: the way, I just want to do a little brag
- 33:03Speaker 4: that I kept my roller skates.
- 33:05Speaker 5: And then I just bought a new house and I
- 33:07Speaker 5: was I was like, oh should I keep these? And
- 33:09Speaker 5: I was thinking should I just give them away?
- 33:12Speaker 4: And then my manager called the Academy Museum and they
- 33:15Speaker 4: put them in the Academy the Academy.
- 33:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I know, I'm very sorry.
- 33:23Speaker 3: All right.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Listen, another movie that Donald and I both really really
- 33:28Speaker 1: love is Both Anger.
- 33:31Speaker 4: Oh I get proud of that movie. I mean, I
- 33:35Speaker 4: Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, I mean, that's like a kind
- 33:38Speaker 4: of a dream.
- 33:39Speaker 3: But you also showed how funny you could be. Also
- 33:41Speaker 3: you were. You also showed how I mean.
- 33:47Speaker 1: We're big, so you got to go.
- 33:51Speaker 2: I'm a huge hold on. I'm a huge Steve Martin
- 33:54Speaker 2: fan too. I grew up on Eddie Murphy. As I've
- 33:57Speaker 2: gotten older, Steve Martin has become my taste in comedy
- 34:02Speaker 2: as well.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Uh, but Eddie Murphy is like, I mean, I based
- 34:06Speaker 3: my life on it.
- 34:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm wondering like your inspiration and stuff.
- 34:10Speaker 8: Like I recited raw, I recited Delirious, I recited Saturday
- 34:16Speaker 8: Night Live, Beverly Hills Cop like that was my.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Yeah, That's all I did was that.
- 34:23Speaker 5: I mean, he's brilliant.
- 34:27Speaker 1: We had a videotape in my house that was Eddie
- 34:29Speaker 1: Murphy's Sorry Live Greatest Yes, and then we just watched
- 34:34Speaker 1: that ship on repeat.
- 34:35Speaker 3: They put another.
- 34:36Speaker 2: One out and the things that were on the original
- 34:38Speaker 2: one aren't on the one that they put out.
- 34:40Speaker 3: The new one that they put out.
- 34:42Speaker 6: The original one had hot to all of that shit
- 34:45Speaker 6: gonna get yeah anyway, all.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Right, so he there. We haven't talk too much. Tell
- 34:50Speaker 1: us about Eddie. Was he fun to work with? Was
- 34:52Speaker 1: it intimidating?
- 34:54Speaker 5: He was? I mean, he was very fun, He was
- 34:57Speaker 5: very nice.
- 34:57Speaker 4: I mean he's brilliant, right, You're just like in the
- 35:00Speaker 4: movie and just he's he's just kind of a genius. Right.
- 35:03Speaker 4: He has like a stand in who looks exactly like him,
- 35:07Speaker 4: and he will sometimes do the scenes with you, like
- 35:09Speaker 4: if you don't see his face, like his stand in
- 35:11Speaker 4: will act with you. Who's really was a cool, nice guy,
- 35:14Speaker 4: but I know he is genius, right, Like you're just
- 35:18Speaker 4: sure you're.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Saying the camera so you're saying some of the times
- 35:22Speaker 1: that he's even even not fully off camera on his back,
- 35:27Speaker 1: he's not doing the performance sometimes.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Yes, Okay, have you ever worked with anybody like that? Before.
- 35:34Speaker 5: No, if you're just such a big star.
- 35:37Speaker 4: I mean, look, his performance is so brilliant, so and
- 35:39Speaker 4: the guy that was doing it, he's actually really talented too.
- 35:43Speaker 4: But no, I've never done work with anything kids, no kids,
- 35:47Speaker 4: little kids where.
- 35:48Speaker 5: They're like, oh you have to leave?
- 35:49Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, But I've never worked on I don't
- 35:52Speaker 1: I've never done scenes with another actor being the actor.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Have you done?
- 36:03Speaker 3: No?
- 36:04Speaker 2: You know what, I'm gonna say something. When I did
- 36:06Speaker 2: Kick Ass Too, I remember them saying Jim Carrey is
- 36:10Speaker 2: notorious for doing that. And he showed up on set
- 36:14Speaker 2: and Jim was there for every off stage off you.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Know what I mean.
- 36:20Speaker 2: He was very generous actually with his time. But I
- 36:23Speaker 2: remember them saying, now, don't be surprised. He's notorious for this.
- 36:27Speaker 2: He's not going to give you off camera. And he
- 36:29Speaker 2: gave off camera the whole time.
- 36:30Speaker 4: And it was like, oh wait, it might have been
- 36:32Speaker 4: a faith he was going through, but like I didn't care.
- 36:35Speaker 5: I mean, I was just like, this is amazing.
- 36:38Speaker 4: Like I get to hang out and talk to him,
- 36:39Speaker 4: and like Steve Martin would like eat lunch with us,
- 36:41Speaker 4: you know, because a lot of times people just go
- 36:43Speaker 4: eat lunch by themselves, like Steve Martin would just sit
- 36:45Speaker 4: and eat lunch with all the actors, chat with us.
- 36:48Speaker 5: And I don't know, it was so special.
- 36:51Speaker 4: You know, I'm just thinking, I'm standing here talking to
- 36:53Speaker 4: Eddie Murphy like this is it felt like a dream,
- 36:55Speaker 4: you know, the best.
- 36:56Speaker 1: One when he goes, you're doing a great job.
- 37:00Speaker 3: You gonna get it. You're gonna you're doing great. You're
- 37:03Speaker 3: doing a great job.
- 37:10Speaker 1: All right, then you get let's see that a fucking
- 37:13Speaker 1: another Oh sorry, we can't skip over the Austin Powers
- 37:16Speaker 1: the Spy Shag. I mean, jeesus, Heather, you've had some
- 37:18Speaker 1: fucking hits. That was That was That was a big
- 37:23Speaker 1: ass movie. Wait was that the first one or the
- 37:25Speaker 1: second one?
- 37:26Speaker 5: It was the second one. The first one's Elizabeth Hurley.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Right, you were the you were the love interest in
- 37:31Speaker 1: the second.
- 37:32Speaker 5: One, Yeah, Felicity Shaguall right.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Now he improps a lot, right does he? Does he
- 37:37Speaker 1: make up?
- 37:38Speaker 5: I mean he's he you know, I want it, and
- 37:40Speaker 5: he prepares. We did a lot of rehearsal.
- 37:42Speaker 4: And on the other hand, he you know, he'll improv
- 37:45Speaker 4: I mean he's the kind of guy. I mean, you
- 37:47Speaker 4: guys are like this, Like he likes to entertain the crew.
- 37:50Speaker 4: He'll make jokes. He wants everyone laughing. He's very like
- 37:55Speaker 4: generous and fun. You know, he's just always trying to
- 37:58Speaker 4: make everybody laugh.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Yeah, we we, Donald and I find that if we
- 38:04Speaker 1: get everyone in a silly mood. And Donald does this
- 38:07Speaker 1: way more than I do because he has a lot
- 38:09Speaker 1: more energy, and but we we finally he does if
- 38:13Speaker 1: we create an environment on set where everyone's in a
- 38:15Speaker 1: silly mood, it helps us be silly, you know, so
- 38:18Speaker 1: we we try and make everybody laugh.
- 38:21Speaker 4: You guys are pretty mean in a silly mood right now.
- 38:23Speaker 4: I'm like, oh my god, let's let's make more scrubs, Like,
- 38:25Speaker 4: let's do it.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Well, Bill Lawrence has been on a press junk and
- 38:29Speaker 1: talking a lot.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Of ship's been talking, so.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Stand by audience, Well, really, what did he say? You know,
- 38:37Speaker 1: he's promoting Bad Monkey now, And of course every interview
- 38:39Speaker 1: that asks him the question says, when you're rebooting scrubs,
- 38:42Speaker 1: And it used to be the answer used to be like, oh,
- 38:44Speaker 1: it'll be fun one day, and then lately it's I
- 38:47Speaker 1: should have an answer for you in the next six months.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Is was he what he's saying?
- 38:50Speaker 2: That's going to be excited about.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Basically what it is is if you want to know
- 38:56Speaker 1: the thing of it is, it's going to happen. You know,
- 39:00Speaker 1: Disney owns, Disney owns Scrubs. Bill has a very big
- 39:04Speaker 1: deal with Warner Brothers, so those two companies have to come.
- 39:07Speaker 5: Just thinking, I wish I had been in more episodes
- 39:09Speaker 5: because it was so.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Fun and you to come back. If we do it,
- 39:13Speaker 1: you come back more.
- 39:14Speaker 5: So if it comes back, I want.
- 39:15Speaker 1: To be I want to were very funny, is Molly Clark.
- 39:18Speaker 5: No.
- 39:18Speaker 4: So I was in Italy, k and I was getting
- 39:20Speaker 4: breakfast and this Italian woman comes up and she does
- 39:22Speaker 4: these hard nands to me and she's like Mollie doctor
- 39:25Speaker 4: Molly on Scrubs.
- 39:27Speaker 5: Yeah, and she touched her heart like.
- 39:29Speaker 4: Thank you, and I'm like wow that that you know,
- 39:32Speaker 4: wasn't like she it really affected her and she was
- 39:34Speaker 4: so sweet. You know.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Well, Heather, I don't know if you know this. The
- 39:38Speaker 1: fans of this podcast will know that because they've heard
- 39:41Speaker 1: me say this a thousand times, but I don't know
- 39:43Speaker 1: if you know this. But the big episode that was
- 39:46Speaker 1: your last, which is the one where we ended up
- 39:48Speaker 1: on the universe a lot and I repel across the street.
- 39:51Speaker 5: And she directed that one.
- 39:53Speaker 1: That was That was the first Scrubs episode I ever directed. Wow,
- 39:57Speaker 1: and I was.
- 39:58Speaker 5: There, you know, virginization of Yeah.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Yeah, because I hit the member, I hit the wall,
- 40:04Speaker 1: I can go to the garbage, I pop back up
- 40:05Speaker 1: and I go all. That was the whole premise of
- 40:10Speaker 1: what that was. I had a permission slip from Elliott
- 40:12Speaker 1: that I was allowed to hook up with you, and
- 40:16Speaker 1: and then you open it up and it said didn't
- 40:18Speaker 1: you know she had lied to me? It wasn't a
- 40:20Speaker 1: permission slip. But anyway, because Joel didn't put any reference
- 40:25Speaker 1: to Scrubs in this debriefing, Joel, I don't know why
- 40:27Speaker 1: you would have left out the most important aspect, Joel.
- 40:31Speaker 5: I think you were a part of I didn't know.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Yes, Joelle, I need some.
- 40:35Speaker 5: Days I remember it. Look, you're the producer princess. I
- 40:39Speaker 5: like your princess.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Yeah, Joelle is a producer princess. She is the best.
- 40:44Speaker 1: All right, we're gonna go to break real quick. Oh okay,
- 40:47Speaker 1: I'm going to break. We're gonna break and will be
- 40:49Speaker 1: right back with Heather. We're gonna ask her about a
- 40:51Speaker 1: little movie franchise called The Hangover. We'll be right back.
- 41:02Speaker 5: I don't know my back.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Why do we want to sing to Heather? She wants
- 41:06Speaker 1: us to want we can could do? We could do
- 41:09Speaker 1: one of trying to get into a dair shoe. What
- 41:14Speaker 1: you're trying to do? What you're trying to get into
- 41:17Speaker 1: a dare show what you're trying to do?
- 41:20Speaker 3: Here? There was some tak forever.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Yeah, we have a sound effects machine, Heather.
- 41:25Speaker 5: He's best friends like some some.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Weeks, some weeks, tanks forever. It depends.
- 41:32Speaker 4: Sometimes he's a bit it's hard to get a hold of.
- 41:34Speaker 4: You're you're the one that's kind.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Of like, well he's been he's got kids and ship
- 41:39Speaker 1: and and he's busy, and he doesn't like.
- 41:42Speaker 3: My life, Heather, one mile at a time.
- 41:45Speaker 4: He doesn't get he doesn't kids are taking family.
- 41:51Speaker 1: It's all about family, Heather. He doesn't ever want to
- 41:54Speaker 1: do anything.
- 41:55Speaker 3: I live my life one mile at a time.
- 41:58Speaker 1: He's a bit of an agrofobe, and he kind of
- 42:00Speaker 1: hides behind the children to be like, I can't do anything.
- 42:03Speaker 3: It's all about family. You know, when you've got family.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Yeah, So I am quoting Joelle.
- 42:12Speaker 5: What am I quoting The Godfather.
- 42:14Speaker 1: No, no, it's that calm movie Heather. He doesn't really
- 42:20Speaker 1: like to leave his home, and and thus let me
- 42:24Speaker 1: just go.
- 42:24Speaker 5: Over and hang out with him and his family. I mean, problem.
- 42:26Speaker 3: Solved because he don't like kids.
- 42:29Speaker 1: No, I like kids. I like kids. I'd like my
- 42:33Speaker 1: own kids.
- 42:36Speaker 3: You don't like my kids. You don't like you know,
- 42:38Speaker 3: other people's kids. He likes his own kids.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Your kids are fine. I mean, your kids are great.
- 42:43Speaker 1: They don't seem too interested in uncle's act. They come in,
- 42:45Speaker 1: they say hi, and then they go off and do
- 42:47Speaker 1: their own thing. They're not exactly like having kids.
- 42:49Speaker 5: What's happening with that? You would be accused?
- 42:51Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 42:51Speaker 1: I think I need to freeze my sperm or something.
- 42:53Speaker 1: I don't know how long I got on these things.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Keep telling him just start having oops babies.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Just oh sh my bad. Yeah, Donald's giving me the
- 43:00Speaker 1: worst advice and saying I should have Oops babies. I
- 43:03Speaker 1: don't want to have an Oops baby.
- 43:05Speaker 3: Like I said, I live my life one mile at
- 43:08Speaker 3: a time.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Donald family, Donald's are very bad. Donald's a bad influence
- 43:13Speaker 1: because his advice is to have an oops baby. We
- 43:20Speaker 1: named many of my baby oops. This is my darling baby. Oops, oops, brath.
- 43:26Speaker 5: Baby is still a baby.
- 43:28Speaker 1: You know, No, I know, but Heather, I'd like to
- 43:30Speaker 1: fall in love, Heather. I'd like to find love and
- 43:33Speaker 1: I'm single. I'd like to find love and have a baby.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Are you in a relationship with someone right now?
- 43:39Speaker 4: I'm dating this guy. His name is John, and nobody cares.
- 43:44Speaker 3: Heather.
- 43:47Speaker 1: You know, Heather, Heather. You know, Heather and I live together.
- 43:54Speaker 1: A lot of people wouldn't know that we live in
- 43:57Speaker 1: the same building, in the same building, and we're on
- 44:00Speaker 1: the same co op board. And occasionally when we have
- 44:02Speaker 1: to do zoom co op board meetings, they're very long
- 44:06Speaker 1: and grueling, and I text Heather funny messages to see
- 44:11Speaker 1: if I can make her laugh laugh in the zoom
- 44:13Speaker 1: we do. It's the only thing that makes a co
- 44:15Speaker 1: op board meeting fun is playing the game. Can I
- 44:18Speaker 1: make Heather Graham laugh?
- 44:20Speaker 3: Oh?
- 44:21Speaker 5: I got the co op board? What a crazy Oh
- 44:24Speaker 5: my god, it's insane.
- 44:26Speaker 1: But we probably shouldn't should talk our co op. No,
- 44:30Speaker 1: we love our co op and I can't highly recommend
- 44:34Speaker 1: getting on your co op board. It is amazing. If
- 44:36Speaker 1: you want to argue that you should maybe paint the
- 44:39Speaker 1: lobby for three years. It's really a lot of fun.
- 44:44Speaker 1: All right, talk about the Hangover? Another fucking banger, Heather Ground.
- 44:49Speaker 3: Listen, Heather Graham, I am sensing a trend.
- 44:54Speaker 1: What is your trend after?
- 45:00Speaker 5: Oh my god?
- 45:03Speaker 1: Before you fucking letter answer.
- 45:05Speaker 2: My question, because because I don't want to just be
- 45:08Speaker 2: about the Hangover, I wanted to elaborate a little bit.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Are you feeling the ride right now? What does it
- 45:14Speaker 2: feel like going into the Hangover? You've got a string
- 45:18Speaker 2: of hits behind you and now you're going into this.
- 45:21Speaker 3: I'm gonna be honest.
- 45:22Speaker 2: When I read The Hangover, like a lot of us did,
- 45:25Speaker 2: it seemed like it was a mess. What happened that
- 45:28Speaker 2: all of a sudden you were like, I'm doing this movie.
- 45:30Speaker 5: I actually had to audition for The Hangover.
- 45:33Speaker 3: It was like no audition for all of these movies.
- 45:38Speaker 5: Not all. I did not audition for Austin Powers.
- 45:40Speaker 4: They offered it. I got offered bow Finger. I auditioned
- 45:43Speaker 4: for License to Drive Boogie Nights. I auditioned for Hangover,
- 45:48Speaker 4: and yeah, I think he had offered it to someone
- 45:51Speaker 4: more famous, who I guess turned it down, And yeah,
- 45:54Speaker 4: then I got it, which was so exciting and uh
- 45:57Speaker 4: at that time, you know whatever, Zach and brad they
- 46:00Speaker 4: were not, you know, as famous as they are today.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Right, Well, that movie really jump started Bradley's whole career, because.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Jump started everybody's career.
- 46:08Speaker 1: No, I'm saying, yeah, of course, but Bradley's become Yeah,
- 46:10Speaker 1: I can jong.
- 46:11Speaker 5: I mean he was, he was a doctor you know
- 46:14Speaker 5: before that.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Zak Calvanakus in that movie is one of the funniest
- 46:18Speaker 1: fucking things ever with his with his beeper with pager.
- 46:25Speaker 1: I have to be honest, I haven't. I have to confess,
- 46:28Speaker 1: I haven't seen the sequels, but I what but I
- 46:33Speaker 1: never wanted the.
- 46:33Speaker 4: Best because whatever, I'm not into. And three I have
- 46:36Speaker 4: a small part, but I like number one the best,
- 46:39Speaker 4: all right.
- 46:39Speaker 1: In two thousand and one, Donald and I did not
- 46:42Speaker 1: make this list, but you were named one of the
- 46:44Speaker 1: fifty most beautiful people. Donald, I tried out for this.
- 46:48Speaker 1: I read twice.
- 46:50Speaker 3: It did not get I think you were fifty one.
- 46:53Speaker 4: Well, come on, Zach, I've gotten your share of like
- 46:56Speaker 4: girls having crushes on you.
- 46:57Speaker 1: I'm sure, okay, either I was. I was number fifty
- 47:01Speaker 1: one and a half, as Donald said, And.
- 47:03Speaker 4: Young Starlet's hot that date you and fall in love
- 47:06Speaker 4: with you because you're so cool.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Okay, Heather, this could be its own separate conversation during
- 47:11Speaker 1: during the co op board meeting.
- 47:13Speaker 4: We don't need to uh, Okay, I'm just saying, it's
- 47:16Speaker 4: not like no girls think you're hot.
- 47:17Speaker 5: Okay, you guys are both like Studley.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Dude, I don't know about Donald, don't make it about Donna.
- 47:25Speaker 5: Zach, thank you.
- 47:26Speaker 4: You are definitely a heart drop for a lot of
- 47:29Speaker 4: a lot of girls, you know.
- 47:30Speaker 6: Right, all right, Daniel, I'm gonna need that Daniel from
- 47:35Speaker 6: from one of your movies.
- 47:36Speaker 3: Dude, you're so money and you don't even know it.
- 47:38Speaker 1: For Daniel, I'm gonna need Heather saying I'm a heart
- 47:41Speaker 1: throb for my soundboard.
- 47:43Speaker 5: Come on, you know it, you know it, you know
- 47:45Speaker 5: it's Zach.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I need that one too. All right. Now, you're
- 47:52Speaker 1: segueing into this new chapter of your career, writing and director.
- 47:56Speaker 1: You've just made your second movie. I Donald and I
- 48:00Speaker 1: both watched it. I was able lucky enough to read it.
- 48:04Speaker 1: It's great and it's called Chosen Family. Everybody, and how.
- 48:08Speaker 3: Did you write? You wrote, direct.
- 48:11Speaker 1: Wrote it and director and you started.
- 48:13Speaker 5: Thanks for watching it.
- 48:15Speaker 1: We're a very good host. We're a very good host.
- 48:17Speaker 3: Directed, starred, and produced it. That's doing a lot. That's
- 48:22Speaker 3: what was it?
- 48:23Speaker 4: Like?
- 48:23Speaker 1: What inspired the story? It's it's about a woman who's
- 48:28Speaker 1: looking for love and uh and and and ends up
- 48:30Speaker 1: dating a guy with a very problematic child who hates her.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Is any of this based on a real life experience
- 48:42Speaker 1: or was this totally fiction?
- 48:44Speaker 4: You know, real life always inspires. But yeah, I did,
- 48:47Speaker 4: you know, make it up? I kind of I wanted
- 48:48Speaker 4: to tell story. I realized it was a certain point
- 48:50Speaker 4: in my life that I was a people pleaser, right
- 48:52Speaker 4: and and in my journey of how to stop being
- 48:54Speaker 4: a people pleaser. And I did think it's interesting when
- 48:56Speaker 4: you date someone that has a kid, you know, it
- 48:58Speaker 4: just got dynamic of being like the kind of awkward
- 49:01Speaker 4: step parent, and just the idea is like how your
- 49:04Speaker 4: friends can sometimes be your family more than your family.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Yes, that's true for me because I don't have kids,
- 49:11Speaker 1: and so I feel like my when we were joking
- 49:14Speaker 1: about that with Donald, are you.
- 49:16Speaker 5: Going to have kids, Zach, what's happening with that?
- 49:18Speaker 1: I'd like to I just I haven't. I haven't found
- 49:21Speaker 1: my life partner yet, right, and i'd like to. But
- 49:24Speaker 1: if it happens, i'd love to. Otherwise you be a
- 49:27Speaker 1: cute dad. I think i'd either, so I can really
- 49:31Speaker 1: I can relate. Yeah, but I don't know that it's
- 49:32Speaker 1: going to happen at this point, you know, I maybe
- 49:36Speaker 1: I maybe I fall in love with someone who has
- 49:37Speaker 1: kids and I'm a great step dad. I don't know.
- 49:40Speaker 1: I'm forty nine, so I don't know if. But who knows.
- 49:44Speaker 1: You know, it could still happen.
- 49:45Speaker 5: Forty nine is the new thirty nine.
- 49:47Speaker 1: I like that, Heather. I like that. I mean, but
- 49:50Speaker 1: you're not going to have kids, right, you're pat you
- 49:52Speaker 1: don't want to do it.
- 49:53Speaker 5: I mean, it's not my plan.
- 49:56Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 49:56Speaker 5: I like never say never, right, I mean, I don't know.
- 49:59Speaker 5: I guess I could get a surrogate, or I don't.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Have a surget or you could adopt, or you could
- 50:05Speaker 1: we could just have a baby that we kind of
- 50:07Speaker 1: raised together in the building.
- 50:08Speaker 4: We have one act have a baby.
- 50:12Speaker 3: Here I go, here comes to oops baby.
- 50:14Speaker 1: This is a good exclusive, everybody, this is a baby.
- 50:20Speaker 4: I'm surprised you never had an Oops baby, you know,
- 50:23Speaker 4: like mister cool guy in Hollywood, you never had an
- 50:25Speaker 4: oops baby.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Well, I'm glad I didn't have an oops baby, unlike Donald.
- 50:29Speaker 1: I don't want I don't want an oops baby.
- 50:35Speaker 5: I have so much money because you never had an oop.
- 50:37Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 50:37Speaker 9: All right, well, well I will say I will say
- 50:54Speaker 9: that oops babies are expensive.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Donald can tell you all. I can tell you cost a.
- 51:00Speaker 3: Lot of money.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Look the relationship for that moment in time neverthelasts.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I like the idea of you and I
- 51:08Speaker 1: having a co op baby and we just we just.
- 51:11Speaker 5: In a co op, one upstairs, one downstairs. Why not?
- 51:16Speaker 1: I used to joke with Heather that if we fell
- 51:18Speaker 1: in love, we would have a really sick duplex, so
- 51:22Speaker 1: go oops baby would would live? Well, all right, so wait,
- 51:27Speaker 1: when does this movie come out?
- 51:28Speaker 3: When can you talk about the movie a little?
- 51:29Speaker 4: When? Yeah?
- 51:30Speaker 1: When can Juliet Julia Styles is in it, Heather directs,
- 51:34Speaker 1: she stars. She writes, the young girl was very funny.
- 51:38Speaker 1: I mean I hated her. You're supposed to hate her.
- 51:40Speaker 3: You're supposed to hate her.
- 51:43Speaker 5: And Thomas Lennon Andrea Savage.
- 51:45Speaker 2: At one point, I tell a dude, yo, grow a pair, man,
- 51:48Speaker 2: and tell us girl.
- 51:49Speaker 1: You knew I was invested in the movie because I
- 51:51Speaker 1: wanted to. I was so mad at the kid, and
- 51:53Speaker 1: I wanted to tell the boyfriend to be like, what
- 51:56Speaker 1: the fuck is going on with you not being able
- 51:58Speaker 1: to control your child? I got invested, I know, I know.
- 52:02Speaker 4: I feel like in those situations, it's hard because you
- 52:05Speaker 4: want the parent and then you, as the other person,
- 52:07Speaker 4: You're like, do I do something? Do I say something?
- 52:09Speaker 4: I'm not their parents? Yeah, the modern modern.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know if I could take it, like
- 52:16Speaker 2: it's got to be like and I get it. I love,
- 52:18Speaker 2: I love love and all of that stuff, but it
- 52:21Speaker 2: is tricky.
- 52:22Speaker 1: I have dated women with children before, and i've and
- 52:28Speaker 1: even also I would say my friends are kids, not
- 52:32Speaker 1: Donald's but other people's kids, and I see them sort
- 52:34Speaker 1: of disrespect my girlfriend or the friend, and my instinct
- 52:39Speaker 1: is to want to be like, hey, don't don't talk
- 52:42Speaker 1: like that, or hey what you know that's but you
- 52:45Speaker 1: don't know what to do because like, is it my
- 52:46Speaker 1: place is not? My place is to you know, but
- 52:49Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Like, so that's sort of what.
- 52:51Speaker 4: I learned, like through being in different situations like that,
- 52:53Speaker 4: that I'm gonna that I decided I am going to
- 52:55Speaker 4: say something but in me like a gentle way. But hey,
- 52:58Speaker 4: don't talk like that, because if the parent's not to
- 53:00Speaker 4: do it, I feel like it's to the kid's benefit
- 53:02Speaker 4: to get some healthy boundaries. You know, you can come
- 53:06Speaker 4: at them with like a gentle way. It's better to
- 53:09Speaker 4: say something. That's what I learned.
- 53:10Speaker 1: But he's got to be tactful because like, yeah, I
- 53:14Speaker 1: remember one time saying something to the child and the
- 53:17Speaker 1: gal looked at me like and I didn't even say anything.
- 53:20Speaker 1: I was just like, hey, don't talk to your mother
- 53:22Speaker 1: like that. That's rude. And she looked at me like
- 53:24Speaker 1: wait what, And I was like, Okay, this isn't gonna work.
- 53:26Speaker 4: It's take an over correction from like past generations like
- 53:30Speaker 4: being really harsh on kids, and now everyone's like, oh,
- 53:32Speaker 4: we need to be so sweet to kids. But then
- 53:34Speaker 4: like sometimes you're being too sweet to the kid where
- 53:36Speaker 4: the kids just becomes obnoxious.
- 53:38Speaker 1: You know that shit gotta go.
- 53:41Speaker 5: But what what are you like as a dad?
- 53:43Speaker 3: Donald, I'm a coddler. But the thing is it gotta go.
- 53:48Speaker 1: You don't never lay the hammer down to you, you know, man.
- 53:53Speaker 3: But That's what I'm trying to say. Man, it gotta go. Listen.
- 53:57Speaker 2: Once you set the boundary, once you set once you
- 54:01Speaker 2: set the tone, listen, I'm gonna support you. Even when
- 54:05Speaker 2: you're yelling at me. I'm still coming at it. They
- 54:08Speaker 2: freaking will walk all over you.
- 54:09Speaker 3: Man. You gotta set the tone right away, yo, Man,
- 54:12Speaker 3: don't do that shit. Problems You and I?
- 54:20Speaker 1: How do problems? How do people see this movie? Heather?
- 54:23Speaker 4: Okay, Well, it's gonna be in theaters and on demand
- 54:26Speaker 4: starting October eleventh, and yeah, check it out.
- 54:30Speaker 1: Check it out everyone. It's really good. Heather. You you
- 54:34Speaker 1: have a career to be envied. You've done so many
- 54:36Speaker 1: different things. Are you going to keep writing and directing?
- 54:39Speaker 1: Because it seems like it's something you're very passionate about.
- 54:42Speaker 5: I mean, I would love to. At the moment, I
- 54:44Speaker 5: just got this cool job in South Africa.
- 54:46Speaker 4: It's this movie called They Will Kill You with zazzy
- 54:49Speaker 4: beats and it's a cool h It's like a New
- 54:52Speaker 4: Line movie and I get to do some action scenes.
- 54:54Speaker 5: So I'm excited about that.
- 54:55Speaker 1: Oh, that's very cool. I like that. She's good.
- 54:59Speaker 5: I know she's cool. I'm very I'm excited.
- 55:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that sounds fun. And how long will you be
- 55:07Speaker 1: in South.
- 55:07Speaker 4: I'm gonna be there for two months, and yeah, I'm
- 55:13Speaker 4: excited about it.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Now, it's the boyfriend going to go with you. How's
- 55:16Speaker 1: that going to work with the long distance of it all?
- 55:18Speaker 4: I mean he's going to come visit. I mean, I
- 55:20Speaker 4: don't think he can just go for the entire time.
- 55:22Speaker 4: But but I've never been, so I'm excited.
- 55:25Speaker 5: I've never been to South Africa. Have you guys been?
- 55:28Speaker 8: No?
- 55:28Speaker 1: I haven't. But you should take the boyfriend on a safari?
- 55:33Speaker 5: Yeah, or he should take me.
- 55:35Speaker 1: He should take you on a safari because I hear that.
- 55:38Speaker 1: That's nice.
- 55:38Speaker 3: He got it like that, he got like Kenya. Wait.
- 55:42Speaker 5: I went to Kenya and he did take me on
- 55:44Speaker 5: a safari last year. It was fun. I'd never been
- 55:47Speaker 5: and I'd always wanted to go. But it's cool Kenya.
- 55:49Speaker 1: I don't want to. I want to go too. I
- 55:52Speaker 1: don't have a no, But Donald, since I don't have
- 55:55Speaker 1: a girlfriend, will you take me on Sofari?
- 55:57Speaker 5: Oh my god, you guys are such a romantic cut Donald?
- 56:05Speaker 3: Do you real?
- 56:07Speaker 1: Donald? Do you realize how much fun we would have
- 56:09Speaker 1: on Sofari?
- 56:10Speaker 3: Is gone?
- 56:11Speaker 1: What you wouldn't see? He's a doora folk. He won't
- 56:14Speaker 1: do anything.
- 56:15Speaker 3: You wouldn't look at the news.
- 56:18Speaker 1: See, he won't go on, he won't leave. He won't
- 56:20Speaker 1: leave the valley. He's not going to the Safari.
- 56:22Speaker 5: All Right, You're adorable.

- 56:39Speaker 3: Had Mercedes Lane on the show.
- 56:42Speaker 1: Bro we had a roller Girl, dude.
- 56:44Speaker 2: Mercedes Lane was the was the it factor when I
- 56:48Speaker 2: was a youth.
- 56:48Speaker 1: You're telling me when you saw roller Girl, you weren't
- 56:51Speaker 1: like Jesus, Mary and Jose.
- 56:53Speaker 2: That's another that's another side of Donald that doesn't come
- 56:58Speaker 2: out often. But but freaking Mercedes Lane was the one
- 57:02Speaker 2: when I was a kid. That's like freaking John Cryer.
- 57:05Speaker 2: That's like, that's like, that's a freaking iconic character in
- 57:09Speaker 2: the freaking zeitgeist of teen movies.
- 57:14Speaker 3: She was like the ultimate way out of your league character.
- 57:18Speaker 2: Like in some movies the girl was kind of out
- 57:21Speaker 2: of like in uh some kind of wonderful you get
- 57:24Speaker 2: because of where she lived. This girl was so fine
- 57:28Speaker 2: when I was a kid. That Corey Feldman the fucking
