Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: All right. After calling through a lot of audio from
- 0:04Speaker 1: the last hour and a half here on one Lego Balox,
- 0:08Speaker 1: I have to say some of these comments are just
- 0:12Speaker 1: unbelievably surprising considering these two are at each other's throats.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Zora Mumdani and President Trump not too long ago, but
- 0:21Speaker 1: today a different toom.
- 0:23Speaker 2: But I just want to congratulate. I think you're going
- 0:25Speaker 2: to have, hopefully a really great mayor. The better he does,
- 0:29Speaker 2: the happier I am. I will say there's no difference
- 0:32Speaker 2: in party, there's no difference in anything, and we're going
- 0:34Speaker 2: to be helping him to make everybody's dream come true
- 0:39Speaker 2: having a strong and very safe New York. And congratulations mister.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Breaking this president, thank you.
- 0:44Speaker 2: He wants to have a safe New York. Ultimately, a
- 0:46Speaker 2: safe New York is going to be a great New York.
- 0:49Speaker 2: If it's not safe, no matter how well we do
- 0:51Speaker 2: with pricing and with anything else, we can talk about
- 0:54Speaker 2: anything you want, if you don't have safe streets, it's
- 0:57Speaker 2: not going to be a success. So we're going to
- 0:59Speaker 2: work together. We're going to make sure that if they're
- 1:02Speaker 2: horrible people, then we want to get him out. I
- 1:04Speaker 2: think he wants to get them out, maybe more than
- 1:06Speaker 2: I do, so we'll work together. We discussed it at
- 1:09Speaker 2: Great Legs. Do you want to rest un Yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 3: I think what I've shared with the President is our
- 1:14Speaker 3: desire to not only follow the laws of our own city,
- 1:17Speaker 3: laws that protect New Yorkers, but also a desire for
- 1:20Speaker 3: consistency in our politics across the board. And that's something
- 1:23Speaker 3: that we've talked about and something that I know many
- 1:24Speaker 3: New Yorkers want. We discussed ice and New York City,
- 1:31Speaker 3: and I spoke about how the laws that we have
- 1:32Speaker 3: in New York City allow for New York City government
- 1:35Speaker 3: to speak to the federal administration for about one hundred
- 1:37Speaker 3: and seventy serious crimes. The concerns that many New Yorkers
- 1:40Speaker 3: have are around the enforcement of immigration laws on New
- 1:45Speaker 3: Yorkers across the five boroughs, and most recently, we're talking
- 1:47Speaker 3: about a mother and her two children. How this has
- 1:50Speaker 3: very little to do with what that is.
- 1:53Speaker 2: What we did is we discussed crime more than ice
- 1:56Speaker 2: per se. We discussed crime, and he doesn't want to
- 1:59Speaker 2: see crime, and I don't want to see crime, and
- 2:02Speaker 2: I have very little doubt that we're not going to
- 2:04Speaker 2: get along on that issue. He wants to and he
- 2:07Speaker 2: said some things who were very interesting, very interesting as
- 2:10Speaker 2: to housing construction, and he wants to see houses go up.
- 2:13Speaker 2: He wants to see a lot of houses created, a
- 2:15Speaker 2: lot of apartments built, et cetera. And you know we
- 2:19Speaker 2: actually people.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Would be shocked. Well, I'll tell you, I certainly am, because,
- 2:24Speaker 1: as I said, the at each other's throats the last
- 2:27Speaker 1: few weeks since Mammdonie elected, and yet today President Trump
- 2:34Speaker 1: was asked if he'd moved back. Think about this. People
- 2:37Speaker 1: have been leaving the city since Mumdannie elected. Trump said
- 2:40Speaker 1: this when asked if he would move back to New
- 2:43Speaker 1: York under Mum Donnie run New York City.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Would you feel comfortable living in New York City under Anne?
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I would, especially after the meeting. Absolutely, What makes
- 2:55Speaker 2: you comfortable?
- 2:57Speaker 1: We agree and a lot more than I.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Would have thought. I think is I want them to
- 3:03Speaker 2: do a great job.
- 3:04Speaker 3: I think both President Trump and I we are very
- 3:07Speaker 3: clear about our positions and our views. And what I
- 3:09Speaker 3: really appreciate about the presidents of the meeting that we
- 3:12Speaker 3: had focused not on places of disagreement, which there are many,
- 3:15Speaker 3: and also focused on the shared purpose that we have
- 3:18Speaker 3: in serving New Yorkers, and frankly, that is something that
- 3:21Speaker 3: could transform the lives of eight and a half million
- 3:23Speaker 3: people who are currently struggling under a cost of living crisis,
- 3:26Speaker 3: with one in four living in poverty. And the meeting
- 3:28Speaker 3: came back again and again to what it could look
- 3:30Speaker 3: like to lift those New Yorkers out of struggle and
- 3:33Speaker 3: start to deliver them a city that they could do
- 3:34Speaker 3: more than just struggle to afford it, but actually start
- 3:36Speaker 3: to live in it.
- 3:37Speaker 1: These two gentlemen seem like they really do have the
- 3:40Speaker 1: best in mind for New York City. But I want
- 3:43Speaker 1: to leave you with this thought. Could it be a
- 3:45Speaker 1: ruse Come on, Dine, just be making nice now before
- 3:50Speaker 1: January and then when January comes as a totally different person.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Or is this going to be the thread? And I
- 3:56Speaker 1: hope this is a thread of unity between the President
- 4:00Speaker 1: who is a lifelong New York evenly moved Florida, the
- 4:03Speaker 1: lifelong New Yorker always will be, and this thirty four
- 4:06Speaker 1: year old who might not be a brat after all.
- 4:10Speaker 1: That's my thought on the One Leg Up Alex Network
