- 2:16Speaker 2: Sweet, Good evening and welcome to Believe in the Journey
- 3:11Speaker 2: podcast where I am your host Trevita Harris, and I
- 3:15Speaker 2: have a very special guest with me tonight. It is
- 3:18Speaker 2: author Reshana Rashana Gold and she is born and raised
- 3:25Speaker 2: in Washington, d C. She is also a nominee for
- 3:30Speaker 2: the Distinguished Guild Author Awards that is coming up on
- 3:33Speaker 2: November the tenth. Now, this is my third or fourth
- 3:39Speaker 2: author that I'm interviewing tonight, that is part of this
- 3:46Speaker 2: very prestigious distinguished authors. I want to say it's not
- 3:52Speaker 2: necessarily a group, but it is a family of authors
- 3:57Speaker 2: that showcase one another. And I'm just honored and grateful
- 4:01Speaker 2: to be able to have these authors come and share
- 4:05Speaker 2: their journeys to what led them to sharing their stories
- 4:08Speaker 2: and their journeys with the world. She's the author of
- 4:11Speaker 2: the Adventures of Jonny and Juliet, and we're gonna hear
- 4:16Speaker 2: more about her story. But before we do anything, we
- 4:18Speaker 2: have to go to God in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father,
- 4:21Speaker 2: thank you for bringing us together tonight, as you do
- 4:23Speaker 2: each and every time we're in front of you. Let
- 4:25Speaker 2: the words of my mouth hit the ears that need
- 4:27Speaker 2: to hear. Let what we talk about tonight touch someone
- 4:31Speaker 2: in a way that they need to be touched. Allow
- 4:34Speaker 2: what we say to fill the hearts and the minds
- 4:37Speaker 2: of those that are listening in that's taking out the
- 4:39Speaker 2: time to be with us tonight. You provide each and
- 4:43Speaker 2: everything that we need, even and when we don't know
- 4:45Speaker 2: what we're standing in need of. We honor you, and
- 4:48Speaker 2: we thank you and your precious and holy name. We
- 4:50Speaker 2: pray Amen, And now we're gonna bring up my guests.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Hey girl, Hellen, how are you?
- 5:01Speaker 4: I am doing well, trying to adjust to this changing weather.
- 5:05Speaker 2: What I know. Listen, you gotta have a jacket on
- 5:12Speaker 2: in the morning and all your way you got to
- 5:14Speaker 2: turn the heat up on the way into work. By
- 5:17Speaker 2: the afternoon you're coming out those layers and clothing, and
- 5:21Speaker 2: then by the time you're getting ready to go home,
- 5:22Speaker 2: you got to put that jacket back on and turn
- 5:25Speaker 2: the heat back up. It's just a mess. So if
- 5:27Speaker 2: you if you ain't doing all of that, because you're
- 5:30Speaker 2: gonna have all three seasons, you know all at least
- 5:34Speaker 2: it's four seasons, but you're gonna have all of them
- 5:37Speaker 2: and one day that is yeah, you have them all
- 5:43Speaker 2: in one day. But I want to thank you for
- 5:50Speaker 2: being here tonight and taking the opportunity to speak with
- 5:53Speaker 2: me about your book. And I want the first question
- 5:56Speaker 2: that I want to ask is what made you get
- 6:01Speaker 2: into writing?
- 6:04Speaker 5: Wow, that is a loaded question.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Actually, my book, which you can see here, The Adventures
- 6:15Speaker 4: of Johnny and Juliette, It started out as a passion project, okay,
- 6:22Speaker 4: to cope with the process and grieve my mother and
- 6:27Speaker 4: my aunt.
- 6:29Speaker 5: I had lost my mom and my aunt in.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Death, and I was having a tough just a tough
- 6:36Speaker 4: time getting through it, and so I sought therapy and
- 6:41Speaker 4: my therapist.
- 6:41Speaker 5: My therapist had a great She had a great idea.
- 6:46Speaker 4: She said, rather than focusing on what makes you feel sad,
- 6:52Speaker 4: on what makes you feel glad about your mother. I
- 6:56Speaker 4: had told my mother was my biggest cheerleader, and so
- 7:01Speaker 4: every every I'm I'm a.
- 7:02Speaker 5: Graphic designer by profession, so.
- 7:05Speaker 4: I was always I was always drawing and combining writing anyway,
- 7:11Speaker 4: but my mom was always behind me, do this, do this,
- 7:15Speaker 4: do this.
- 7:16Speaker 5: So I thought about her and I was.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Like, you know, I want to do something in honor
- 7:23Speaker 4: of her. And at the same time, well, my mother
- 7:28Speaker 4: died ten years ago, but.
- 7:32Speaker 5: Due to.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Just life, you know, I kept I kept putting the
- 7:38Speaker 4: idea on pause. And my aunt died two years ago,
- 7:45Speaker 4: and so it.
- 7:46Speaker 5: Was just a combination of life.
- 7:49Speaker 4: However, in between that gap, in between that gap, I
- 7:54Speaker 4: myself had a hymoro magic stroke, you know, and life
- 8:01Speaker 4: just completely stopped.
- 8:04Speaker 5: So I couldn't complete my grieving.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Process by writing because I became sick, so that I
- 8:13Speaker 4: had to focus on healing myself and getting myself better
- 8:20Speaker 4: so that I can fulfill the honor to my mother
- 8:24Speaker 4: and my aunt.
- 8:26Speaker 5: So it's been, it was, it's been a process. It's
- 8:29Speaker 5: it's been. It's been a process.
- 8:31Speaker 4: It Like I said, it started out as a way
- 8:35Speaker 4: to heal from grieving, but I ended up evolving. You know,
- 8:41Speaker 4: I've always liked to write, Like when I was when
- 8:45Speaker 4: I was younger, I'm impathed, you know, so I feel everything, yes,
- 8:53Speaker 4: but I don't like confrontation, so I would write it.
- 8:58Speaker 5: I would write down how I feel rather than I
- 9:04Speaker 5: don't want to tell you, but.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Write it down and there's no interruption, and you can
- 9:11Speaker 2: read it when you're ready to read it, and then
- 9:14Speaker 2: we might be able to have a conversation about it.
- 9:16Speaker 2: So I feel you completely.
- 9:17Speaker 4: On that exactly. So that's like I said, I've always
- 9:22Speaker 4: liked to write. It's just when my mother and my
- 9:25Speaker 4: aunt passed away, I got more sisterious, I got more
- 9:28Speaker 4: serious about it, and I actually started asking the questions
- 9:35Speaker 4: to guide me to the people who can help me. Okay,
- 9:40Speaker 4: because you know how, you know how you're in a
- 9:43Speaker 4: conversation like this, I'm telling you, Oh, Trevida, I've got
- 9:47Speaker 4: a life story that that could be a book, and
- 9:51Speaker 4: you say, girl, you should write the book.
- 9:55Speaker 5: My next question is who do I go to to
- 9:58Speaker 5: write that book? How do I do that? Because yeah, I.
- 10:01Speaker 4: Can write on a piece of paper, but if it
- 10:04Speaker 4: doesn't go anywhere from off my.
- 10:06Speaker 5: Desk, right, what are we gonna do?
- 10:10Speaker 2: You know? Yeah?
- 10:12Speaker 4: So, like I just you know, I became after I
- 10:16Speaker 4: wrote this story, cute little children's story m hm that
- 10:21Speaker 4: incorporated snippets of my mom's personality, on my aunt's personality. Okay,
- 10:28Speaker 4: I decided to actually look into and research how do
- 10:34Speaker 4: I get to the right people mm hmm to help
- 10:39Speaker 4: me make this an actual product?
- 10:42Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, yeah, Well listen, like I told you before
- 10:47Speaker 2: the show, we have a lot of things in common,
- 10:50Speaker 2: and the stroke being one of them. I lost my
- 10:54Speaker 2: mother two years ago and so it's been a process
- 10:59Speaker 2: of grieving her. And she got to see and experience
- 11:03Speaker 2: the podcast when I was just beginning, and so this
- 11:08Speaker 2: became one of our special things together. And my mentor
- 11:14Speaker 2: also gave my mom a she made her an honorary
- 11:18Speaker 2: host and then gave her a episode of her own,
- 11:24Speaker 2: and it was it was a joy and a pleasure
- 11:27Speaker 2: with sharing that with her and also sharing seeing I
- 11:33Speaker 2: think it was more for her seeing me outside of
- 11:37Speaker 2: just being by myself, because she was so surprised that
- 11:41Speaker 2: I actually interacted with people. I'm usually by myself or
- 11:47Speaker 2: with my kids and now my grandkids, so outside of that,
- 11:51Speaker 2: she was just really shocked that I had other people
- 11:56Speaker 2: to talk to and right with. And so you would
- 12:00Speaker 2: always say, I would always make sure that I had
- 12:02Speaker 2: my laptop and include her and our little meetings and
- 12:09Speaker 2: training sessions. And also I'm just thinking about the prayer
- 12:16Speaker 2: my mom did when she first met them, and oh
- 12:20Speaker 2: my god, it was hilarious. But anyway, I understand that
- 12:25Speaker 2: grieving process and how it takes you to deal with
- 12:31Speaker 2: feelings and emotions that you're not quite sure where to
- 12:34Speaker 2: put or how to confine them, or how to express them.
- 12:38Speaker 2: And writing is a good form of being able to
- 12:42Speaker 2: express those feelings and those emotions. And then life took
- 12:46Speaker 2: you on a different journey for just a little while,
- 12:49Speaker 2: and that time gave you the opportunity to number one,
- 12:53Speaker 2: heel to figure out where we're going to go with
- 12:59Speaker 2: what you had in side, and also being able to
- 13:02Speaker 2: honor them in a way that's lasting. That also gives
- 13:06Speaker 2: other people a way of, especially children, a way of
- 13:11Speaker 2: finding joy and finding laughter and being able to experience
- 13:17Speaker 2: literature in a way that they probably never thought that
- 13:20Speaker 2: they could. Was that one of your goals when you
- 13:24Speaker 2: were writing the book to be able to bring the
- 13:27Speaker 2: joy of what you had with your mom to younger people.
- 13:33Speaker 5: Yes, my mother was a okay, and she loved kids,
- 13:43Speaker 5: and kids loved her. Like absolutely.
- 13:46Speaker 4: We had so many kids come through our house. I
- 13:48Speaker 4: thought it was a daycare. I'm like, hello, mom, I'm.
- 13:51Speaker 5: Your real hotel. But they loved her, they gravitated with her.
- 14:00Speaker 4: However, as as time passed, you know, I will say
- 14:07Speaker 4: it's it's like a two part answer because I will say, however,
- 14:12Speaker 4: as time passed and as I grew, uh, my family,
- 14:20Speaker 4: by nature would take trips. Okay, I'm going off on
- 14:24Speaker 4: a tangent here, but but this is my family. My
- 14:34Speaker 4: my dad would take us on a family trip every year. Okay,
- 14:38Speaker 4: that was we always knew we were going somewhere. I
- 14:42Speaker 4: thought I thought this was normal, Okay, But as I
- 14:47Speaker 4: grew older, I met lots of little children that never
- 14:52Speaker 4: left their neighborhood.
- 14:55Speaker 5: Ever, yeah they didn't.
- 14:57Speaker 4: They were at Grandma's house like with which was five
- 15:01Speaker 4: or ten miles away. Yeah, they never passed Grandma's house.
- 15:06Speaker 4: They never got to go to a different state, they
- 15:09Speaker 4: never got to go to a different country, never got
- 15:13Speaker 4: to experience what was outside of their natural environment.
- 15:18Speaker 5: And then I met I met.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Adults who once worth these children, who were in the
- 15:25Speaker 4: same plight. Yeah, basically they were adults that never got
- 15:32Speaker 4: to really see. So that expanded the meaning and the
- 15:38Speaker 4: goal of my story. My story may be a children's book,
- 15:41Speaker 4: but on a broader level, I want to share it
- 15:46Speaker 4: with people because I want to generate the want or
- 15:53Speaker 4: the desire to want to see more of what's outside
- 15:58Speaker 4: of our community. Know, statistic statistics, excuse me, They show
- 16:05Speaker 4: that eighty percent of our children don't get to leave
- 16:10Speaker 4: their neighborhoods. So socially, this causes an awkwardness that you know,
- 16:17Speaker 4: there's an uncomfortability when it comes to knowing what's outside
- 16:25Speaker 4: of what you know, right.
- 16:27Speaker 5: And that causes us to you know, that causes them.
- 16:30Speaker 4: To grow up to have you know, a lack of
- 16:33Speaker 4: social skills, a lack of culture, a lack of you know,
- 16:38Speaker 4: which causes a lack of empathy, a lack of knowledge
- 16:43Speaker 4: of what's around us, and so I want to change that.
- 16:47Speaker 5: I want to change that with Joany and Julieta. So
- 16:51Speaker 5: it's about these.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Two amazing sisters that just have the imagination and the
- 16:58Speaker 4: desire and the want to anywhere they want to and
- 17:02Speaker 4: you know, through the use of their special pajamas, they
- 17:06Speaker 4: can do that.
- 17:08Speaker 5: You know, they can.
- 17:09Speaker 4: They got their own plane and everything goes. The goal
- 17:15Speaker 4: is to create a cultural awareness of of other places
- 17:23Speaker 4: and and other cultures, other ethnicities, so that so that
- 17:28Speaker 4: we can have a better understanding of who we are,
- 17:32Speaker 4: you know, as a people. And so that's that's my goal,
- 17:36Speaker 4: you know, to want to to want to change that
- 17:40Speaker 4: and perhaps have these children grow up where they can
- 17:45Speaker 4: afford a trip and they can go places and they
- 17:48Speaker 4: can you know.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah, So it's basically where they're not they're able to
- 17:55Speaker 2: expand in reality and not just in a mindset. To
- 18:01Speaker 2: give kids the tools to understand that they can actually
- 18:09Speaker 2: be venturous, adventurous and venture outside of their common circle
- 18:16Speaker 2: and what's familiar to them, because I think there's a
- 18:20Speaker 2: misconception that being complacent is okay, and it's really not okay.
- 18:27Speaker 2: There's so much more and you can outgrow people and
- 18:31Speaker 2: you can outgrow spaces. And I try to explain it
- 18:34Speaker 2: to kids when I'm talking to them that when you
- 18:36Speaker 2: outgrow your clothing, you buy bigger clothing. So when you
- 18:41Speaker 2: outgrow where you are, you can expand to bigger surroundings
- 18:46Speaker 2: and bigger groups of people who can have a diverse
- 18:50Speaker 2: conversation and a different perspective on what it is that
- 18:54Speaker 2: you want to learn about. And don't be afraid to
- 18:57Speaker 2: venture out and step away from from what you're familiar
- 19:01Speaker 2: with to be uncomfortable for a season, because being uncomfortable
- 19:05Speaker 2: for a season leads you to a wide variety of possibilities.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Next question I want to ask you is about your
- 19:17Speaker 2: healing journey when you found out you had a stroke.
- 19:22Speaker 2: How did that process go for you?
- 19:26Speaker 5: Wow?
- 19:27Speaker 6: It that's another loaded question.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Trust me, I know I've been there.
- 19:39Speaker 5: I know it's crazy how it happened, because for.
- 19:46Speaker 2: You, weren't hard headed, were you?
- 19:48Speaker 5: No? No, I didn't know.
- 19:50Speaker 4: I didn't even know what was wrong with me because
- 19:55Speaker 4: for about three months prior okay, I started it feeling bad. Okay,
- 20:02Speaker 4: I started Uh, I was very tired. I was extremely
- 20:07Speaker 4: tired and just dragging just my my body was just
- 20:14Speaker 4: just out of it. You know, I thought I needed
- 20:17Speaker 4: a vacation. I was working.
- 20:19Speaker 5: I was working very hard.
- 20:21Speaker 4: I was working over time, and I kept telling myself,
- 20:25Speaker 4: if I can just get through this, I'm getting my
- 20:27Speaker 4: time off and you know.
- 20:31Speaker 5: And take that vacation because I needed goodness. I need
- 20:34Speaker 5: a drinking a bit. I need what I need. That's
- 20:39Speaker 5: what I thought, you know, right, But I just, you know,
- 20:44Speaker 5: from the fatigue.
- 20:46Speaker 4: I would I would be sitting at my desk and
- 20:47Speaker 4: I noticed my hand would shake just uncontrollably. I would
- 20:54Speaker 4: hold it, but it's still was shit. I'm like, oh,
- 20:56Speaker 4: oh that's it.
- 20:58Speaker 2: That ain't good, right.
- 20:59Speaker 5: I was like that, but I just I need some rest.
- 21:02Speaker 5: I'm tired.
- 21:03Speaker 4: I'm just I've just been working to go, I'm tired.
- 21:07Speaker 4: I the shaking wouldn't stop. So I said, this is
- 21:11Speaker 4: this is neurological, you know. I didn't there's some nerves
- 21:15Speaker 4: going on something. But I made an appointment with the
- 21:19Speaker 4: doctor too late. I never had a neurosurgeon because I
- 21:24Speaker 4: didn't have anything wrong with my brain. But you know
- 21:29Speaker 4: how you have when you get a new doctor, they
- 21:31Speaker 4: make you wait for months.
- 21:33Speaker 5: Yeah, that was that was my situation.
- 21:37Speaker 4: But I'm just gonna wait, wait, wait, make a long
- 21:42Speaker 4: story short. I did you know. I had to wait
- 21:47Speaker 4: about two months to get an appointment. However, the doctor
- 21:53Speaker 4: didn't want to really examine me because of my insurance.
- 21:58Speaker 5: He didn't like I thought I had great assurance.
- 22:02Speaker 4: It worked for me everywhere else, but he didn't like
- 22:07Speaker 4: my insurance. So he gave me a really hard time
- 22:13Speaker 4: and I broke down crying. I almost held his ankles.
- 22:16Speaker 4: I was like, something is wrong with me, because by
- 22:19Speaker 4: the time I saw him, my left side was literally dragging.
- 22:27Speaker 4: My leg was dragging, my arm was I did not
- 22:31Speaker 4: know what was going on, but my left side of
- 22:33Speaker 4: my body was just not working.
- 22:36Speaker 5: And that was scary. That was yeah. So I just
- 22:42Speaker 5: broke down and cried, you know, and cried.
- 22:45Speaker 4: And I guess I appealed to something because he did
- 22:50Speaker 4: run some tests, but I had I had a stroke.
- 22:54Speaker 4: The very next day I saw I went to get
- 22:58Speaker 4: myself something to eat and I saw one that that
- 23:02Speaker 4: attends my place of worship and she was like, he said,
- 23:05Speaker 4: I haven't seen you in a while. You know, I
- 23:08Speaker 4: look forward to seeing you tomorrow. And I was like, yeah,
- 23:12Speaker 4: I look forward to seeing you too. So that Sunday morning.
- 23:18Speaker 4: I did not feel like getting out of bed. My body,
- 23:22Speaker 4: my body was done. And but I thought about what
- 23:27Speaker 4: she said. I was like I have in the Bible.
- 23:30Speaker 4: It says that you're yes, me, yes, and you're no no.
- 23:33Speaker 5: Even though I didn't want to go, I told her
- 23:37Speaker 5: that I would see her. So I dragged myself out
- 23:43Speaker 5: of the bed.
- 23:43Speaker 4: My left side was completely limp, so I'm holding onto
- 23:47Speaker 4: things to get out of my house. I make it
- 23:53Speaker 4: and it's the left side, so I'm okay. I can
- 23:56Speaker 4: drive with my right flick my right hand.
- 23:59Speaker 5: But I made it.
- 24:00Speaker 2: You sound like me in so many ways with me.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Oh my god, I'm determined.
- 24:08Speaker 5: I'm determined. I made it there. I made it there.
- 24:14Speaker 4: I got out of the car and I'm literally holding
- 24:18Speaker 4: on to the wall to walk myself.
- 24:21Speaker 5: In the building.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Okay.
- 24:23Speaker 4: And there was there was an usher at the door
- 24:26Speaker 4: and he was like, hi, sister Gold. You don't look
- 24:32Speaker 4: like you're feeling too good. Are you feeling I said, no, brother,
- 24:36Speaker 4: I'm not feeling that well. And he was like, well,
- 24:38Speaker 4: let me help you inside. Let me let me help
- 24:40Speaker 4: you in.
- 24:41Speaker 5: So he helped me in, He helped sit me down.
- 24:44Speaker 4: He said, would you like somebody to sit next to you,
- 24:47Speaker 4: so I said, yes, please. So he found another sister
- 24:51Speaker 4: to help me, uh, just to sit next to me
- 24:54Speaker 4: who happened to be a nurse and to read.
- 25:00Speaker 5: I kid you not. God was there.
- 25:04Speaker 4: God was there because I had a I had two
- 25:10Speaker 4: or three I don't quite remember, two or three seizures
- 25:13Speaker 4: in her lap at that moment. She was one that
- 25:21Speaker 4: kept me together. I promise you that this was God.
- 25:26Speaker 4: She instructed someone to call nine to one one.
- 25:29Speaker 5: But she kept me alive and alert.
- 25:34Speaker 4: I had three of her lap I had after the
- 25:39Speaker 4: ambulance came and took me. I had two more and
- 25:42Speaker 4: then the stroke. So I have five seizures and a
- 25:47Speaker 4: stroke in less than one hour.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Wow, Listen, I am speechless in this moment, but I
- 25:59Speaker 2: know that it was all God's work and God's blessing.
- 26:05Speaker 2: And you pulling yourself up to get to the church
- 26:10Speaker 2: pretty much is what saved you in a matter of
- 26:18Speaker 2: an hour, because had you chose to just give in too,
- 26:24Speaker 2: I don't feel like getting up. My body is tired,
- 26:28Speaker 2: and I'm just gonna stay here, we wouldn't be having
- 26:32Speaker 2: this conversation today. We would not be having this conversation today.
- 26:38Speaker 5: We would We would not.
- 26:41Speaker 2: But I your stroke was on the left. My stroke
- 26:44Speaker 2: was on the left. That's why I'm telling yeah and yeah.
- 26:50Speaker 2: I went to the I went to work, like mine happened.
- 26:54Speaker 2: I was not feeling well. I thought that I had
- 26:58Speaker 2: hurt my back and I was having an allergic action
- 27:00Speaker 2: to the medicine that they had given me for my back.
- 27:03Speaker 2: So I'm not thinking of it. I'm just like, Okay,
- 27:06Speaker 2: well I've worked twelve hours today. I'm tired. I'm just
- 27:09Speaker 2: you know whatever. So I got off work. I took
- 27:13Speaker 2: my kids to Walmart so they can pick out a movie.
- 27:15Speaker 2: While we're at Walmart, my arm goes numb and I
- 27:19Speaker 2: dropped my purse off my shoulder and I don't think
- 27:23Speaker 2: anything of it. My sister's like, what's wrong. You dropped
- 27:26Speaker 2: your purse, and I'm like, I'm just tired, y'all, hurry
- 27:28Speaker 2: up and pick your movie. Let's go home. So we
- 27:31Speaker 2: go home. I get in the shower, my arm is
- 27:34Speaker 2: still kind of it felt like it was a sleep
- 27:37Speaker 2: to me, and so I'm like, okay, I'm not sure
- 27:43Speaker 2: what this is. So i go to bed. I'm like,
- 27:46Speaker 2: it's not a problem. I'm just gonna you know, sleep
- 27:49Speaker 2: it off. It'll be better in the morning. So six
- 27:51Speaker 2: o'clock I get up and I'm like, okay, I'm gonna
- 27:54Speaker 2: stop at Chickile, get me in breakfast, and then I'm
- 27:58Speaker 2: gonna go on into work because we had early morning
- 28:02Speaker 2: meetings at seven o'clock at the eye place where I
- 28:05Speaker 2: was working. And so I get there and that's where
- 28:07Speaker 2: we are going through the meeting and where they're talking
- 28:10Speaker 2: and everything. I'm noticing that I have no feeling on
- 28:14Speaker 2: the left side in my arm. So I'm just sitting
- 28:16Speaker 2: there doing this, like pinching my arm and I can't
- 28:19Speaker 2: feel anything. And I'm like, okay, So I tell my boss.
- 28:22Speaker 2: I'm like, listen, there's something wrong. I need to go
- 28:26Speaker 2: to the doctor. So I went back to the little
- 28:28Speaker 2: urgent care that I had gone to earlier in the week,
- 28:30Speaker 2: and so I'm like, I don't know what's going on,
- 28:35Speaker 2: but this arm doesn't feel right. So he's like, well,
- 28:39Speaker 2: tell me when did this start. I said, well, it
- 28:41Speaker 2: started last night, but you know not it should be fine.
- 28:45Speaker 2: What's going on? He was like, I don't want to
- 28:47Speaker 2: frighten you, but it sounds as if you may have
- 28:50Speaker 2: had a stroke. And I'm gonna go ahead and call
- 28:52Speaker 2: that an ambulance and have them come and pick you up.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Now me, this is why I asked the question, are
- 28:58Speaker 2: you stubborn? Where you stubborn? I was like, yeah, you're
- 29:01Speaker 2: not calling the ambulance. I'm going to drive myself to
- 29:03Speaker 2: the hospital because I'm not leaving my car. I'm not
- 29:06Speaker 2: not I don't want that bill also, so he was like,
- 29:09Speaker 2: I don't really advise you on doing it. I said,
- 29:11Speaker 2: I don't care. I'm going to drive to the hospital.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Now I'm on one side of town. I got to
- 29:17Speaker 2: go to the other side of town to the hospital.
- 29:20Speaker 2: So I drive myself to the hospital. By the time
- 29:25Speaker 2: I get to the hospital, I cannot feel my left leg.
- 29:30Speaker 2: So from warm all the way down, I could not
- 29:34Speaker 2: feel anything. So the receptionist is reading what the doctor
- 29:38Speaker 2: put in the envelope for me to give to them,
- 29:41Speaker 2: and she's reading it and she's like, do you know
- 29:44Speaker 2: what this paper says? I said, yes, ma'am. She says,
- 29:46Speaker 2: you're a little too young to be having a stroke.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I said, ma'am, I understand that, I said, but right
- 29:51Speaker 2: now you and I both are wasting precious time. So
- 29:55Speaker 2: can you please get me to the back, and so
- 29:59Speaker 2: they get me to the back and they're asking all
- 30:03Speaker 2: the neurological questions like my face never drooped, my speech
- 30:07Speaker 2: never faltered or anything. I just could not feel the
- 30:11Speaker 2: left side of my body. So they send me the CT,
- 30:15Speaker 2: they do the MRI, they do a cat skin, they
- 30:20Speaker 2: do X ray, they do all of this stuff. And
- 30:22Speaker 2: then she comes back and she says, miss Brown, you're
- 30:28Speaker 2: not going home. You are having a stroke right now.
- 30:32Speaker 2: We are preparing a room for you upstairs. And I'm like,
- 30:37Speaker 2: you have got to be kidding me. And yeah, and
- 30:42Speaker 2: I'm like, no, I said, I got I gotta get
- 30:45Speaker 2: home to the kids. She said, well, you're not going
- 30:48Speaker 2: home tonight. We have a room for you upstairs, so
- 30:54Speaker 2: I'll come see you up there. But you, she said,
- 30:56Speaker 2: and also, I heard something that they said you drove
- 31:00Speaker 2: yourself here. Yep, yes, ma'am, I did. I did. I'm sorry,
- 31:05Speaker 2: why would you do that? Well? Number one, I'm hard
- 31:07Speaker 2: headed and I'm stubborn, and I didn't think that it
- 31:10Speaker 2: was that serious. She said, well, now you're gonna be
- 31:12Speaker 2: here for a couple of days because you weren't supposed
- 31:16Speaker 2: to do this.
- 31:16Speaker 4: So so now, oh my goodness, did I.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Have a stroke. I was also diagnosed with a brain
- 31:27Speaker 2: aneurysm that they found while doing all of the other testing.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Then I also found out that I have a brain
- 31:35Speaker 2: condition called Kori malformation. So all of these things happened
- 31:40Speaker 2: at one time. So I say that my stroke was
- 31:43Speaker 2: a blessing and a curse at the same time, because
- 31:46Speaker 2: had I not had the stroke, I would never have
- 31:48Speaker 2: known that I have Krii malformation. And in the midst
- 31:53Speaker 2: of all of that, in twenty thirteen, I lost my speech,
- 31:56Speaker 2: my ability to speak. I had to learn how to
- 31:59Speaker 2: walk and and talk again with yes. So that's why
- 32:05Speaker 2: I said, this was not a coincidence. This is God's design,
- 32:09Speaker 2: why we're supposed to be having this conversation in this moment,
- 32:14Speaker 2: to show just how good God is and how powerful
- 32:17Speaker 2: his coverage is when he has his children to proclaim
- 32:23Speaker 2: and send out his message and be the vessel that
- 32:26Speaker 2: He needs us to be. Had it not been for him,
- 32:30Speaker 2: had it not been for these circumstances, we would not
- 32:33Speaker 2: be able to share the goodness of what God has
- 32:36Speaker 2: done for us and to bring us to this moment
- 32:39Speaker 2: right now. So this is God's dude, This ain't got
- 32:43Speaker 2: nothing to do with anything. So when I told you,
- 32:48Speaker 2: I was reading this and I saw that, and I
- 32:50Speaker 2: was like, God, this is you. This ain't got none
- 32:54Speaker 2: to do with me at all. This was your plan.
- 32:57Speaker 2: This was in It was written years ago when we
- 33:00Speaker 2: were still little kids playing on the playground with our
- 33:03Speaker 2: little friends. This was already written. It's just coming to
- 33:06Speaker 2: pass right now. So we have we're bonded now. So
- 33:27Speaker 2: it's an honor. It's a greatness to know that what
- 33:32Speaker 2: you went through and what you've been able to overcome,
- 33:36Speaker 2: and you to be able to write the book, to
- 33:40Speaker 2: share the adventure, to give people a different insight, to
- 33:44Speaker 2: know that they don't have to be confined to where
- 33:47Speaker 2: they are if they are willing to look beyond what
- 33:51Speaker 2: they see. That book about adventure covers so many aspects
- 33:57Speaker 2: of life and the journey of life. And you have
- 34:02Speaker 2: the opportunity to look beyond what you're going through, even
- 34:07Speaker 2: when it's hard, even when time seem uncertain, to be adventurous,
- 34:12Speaker 2: to look outside of what feels comfortable and just be
- 34:16Speaker 2: uncomfortable for just a small amount of time. Look at
- 34:20Speaker 2: what God has on the other side of that uncomfortable space.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Look at what God has for you outside of the
- 34:27Speaker 2: people that you feel comfortable with.
- 34:30Speaker 7: Look at what God can give you if you just
- 34:33Speaker 7: be open to receiving what it is. Oh, God is
- 34:45Speaker 7: amazing and God is more than sometimes we even understand
- 34:52Speaker 7: what He's capable of and what He's able to do
- 34:56Speaker 7: beyond what we see. Like I said, the best is
- 34:58Speaker 7: yet to come for or whatever He has in store
- 35:02Speaker 7: for you. I don't know what all of that is,
- 35:04Speaker 7: but I know that it's only the beginning for that
- 35:08Speaker 7: that it was. That is this book the only book
- 35:11Speaker 7: you've written so far?
- 35:12Speaker 4: Yes, it is, but it's kind of kind of fueled
- 35:16Speaker 4: me for me. Yeah, you know, got bidden by the bug.
- 35:22Speaker 4: But it's interesting you said that because I was in
- 35:25Speaker 4: the I was in the hospital hospital for I was
- 35:31Speaker 4: in the ICU for two weeks, okay, and then they
- 35:35Speaker 4: moved me to a floor and I was there for
- 35:39Speaker 4: maybe two more weeks, and then they moved me to
- 35:42Speaker 4: a rehab hospital. So I don't I didn't see home
- 35:45Speaker 4: for a long time, you know, right. But while I
- 35:49Speaker 4: was in you know, while.
- 35:50Speaker 5: I have some downtime mm hmm.
- 35:53Speaker 4: And they treated me very well in the hospital. But
- 35:57Speaker 4: when I had some downtime, there's a lot of praying, prayer.
- 36:00Speaker 5: Prayer potential.
- 36:02Speaker 4: I had a lot of converse, private conversations with God
- 36:07Speaker 4: and it was it was eye opener for me. Yeah,
- 36:13Speaker 4: I realized I had to readjust some things in my
- 36:17Speaker 4: life that if I had a second chance, he would
- 36:22Speaker 4: definitely see that all praises go to him.
- 36:26Speaker 5: Yes, you know, because that second chance is all him. Yes,
- 36:32Speaker 5: it was all Him. So definitely I've readjusted some things
- 36:39Speaker 5: in my life.
- 36:40Speaker 4: The with the the writing of the book is uh
- 36:45Speaker 4: a a celebration of all of the milestones that I
- 36:51Speaker 4: had overcome because I too couldn't speak.
- 36:54Speaker 5: I couldn't hold a pen. I couldn't.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I couldn't either couldn't hold a brand, can hold it,
- 37:01Speaker 2: could hold it.
- 37:06Speaker 4: I was in I was in a wheelchair for for
- 37:08Speaker 4: like a month. Then I could rested to a walker.
- 37:13Speaker 4: But all of these, you know, all of these things
- 37:17Speaker 4: came from hard work through prayer. I would I would
- 37:22Speaker 4: ask God to give me the strength, the courage and
- 37:24Speaker 4: the endurance to get through my situation. And if he
- 37:32Speaker 4: did that, I would give him my everything. I kept
- 37:38Speaker 4: my promise because I'm doing more volunteer work.
- 37:42Speaker 5: Uh.
- 37:43Speaker 4: That is Bible related and and like I said, my
- 37:48Speaker 4: book is only the celebration of what God has allowed
- 37:53Speaker 4: me to do, you know, And I am so so grateful,
- 37:59Speaker 4: so thankful. I'm so grateful every single day. I don't know,
- 38:04Speaker 4: I do not forget what I went through. And I
- 38:08Speaker 4: shared it with with who I can because I believe.
- 38:12Speaker 5: My story can help somebody.
- 38:14Speaker 4: People don't know, they don't know this much about me
- 38:18Speaker 4: because they have to get to know me in order
- 38:23Speaker 4: to know this. Like, yeah, I don't I don't volunteer,
- 38:27Speaker 4: but but once, once we get into the meat of things,
- 38:32Speaker 4: we can swap some stories.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Yes, that you said, And then then the reason it
- 38:39Speaker 2: has me crying is because those three words strength, courage,
- 38:44Speaker 2: and endurance or my signature after I had my strug,
- 38:53Speaker 2: that's what I prayed every day to give me the strength,
- 38:58Speaker 2: the courage and endurance to endure it all because I
- 39:03Speaker 2: did not know what tomorrow was gonna bring.
- 39:10Speaker 5: And so.
- 39:17Speaker 2: It was a moment when you can't speak, you can't
- 39:22Speaker 2: say anything, and doctor's not really knowing what the cause was.
- 39:27Speaker 2: How to get you back to speaking. I did a
- 39:32Speaker 2: lot of research and it was like, Okay, how do
- 39:38Speaker 2: I how do I keep my voice? How do I
- 39:41Speaker 2: get it back because I'm having to write things down
- 39:44Speaker 2: just to communicate. And it was frustrating to me because
- 39:48Speaker 2: it's like, I'm not used to not being able to talk.
- 39:52Speaker 2: I'm not used to it. So praying and asking God
- 39:55Speaker 2: and then doing research, I found out that when you sing,
- 39:59Speaker 2: you use different parts of your vocal cards, and that
- 40:03Speaker 2: is what helped me to get my speech back. And
- 40:06Speaker 2: so it was like, Okay, I'm slowly getting this back.
- 40:11Speaker 2: I'm slowly being able to do what it is that
- 40:15Speaker 2: I'm supposed to be doing. God, I still don't know
- 40:17Speaker 2: what that is. I don't know what I'm supposed to do.
- 40:20Speaker 2: But if you get me to this space and I'm
- 40:23Speaker 2: able to get out of this bed and I'm able
- 40:25Speaker 2: to drive again, I'm able to do. I will do
- 40:29Speaker 2: whatever it is that you instruct me to do, no
- 40:31Speaker 2: matter how uncomfortable it is, no matter if I don't
- 40:34Speaker 2: know what it is and I don't understand why you're
- 40:37Speaker 2: pushing me to these spaces, I still will be obedient
- 40:41Speaker 2: to what you're telling me to do.
- 40:43Speaker 5: And so.
- 40:45Speaker 2: I've been obedient. I've been I've been a little hard
- 40:48Speaker 2: headed at times with doing it all the way. I
- 40:55Speaker 2: will be honest, because I be like, God, I don't
- 40:58Speaker 2: think you sending that visit to the right person. I
- 41:01Speaker 2: think it's delivered to the wrong address. I need you
- 41:04Speaker 2: to take that to who I actually belongs to, and
- 41:08Speaker 2: he'll come right back and be like, no, it's at
- 41:11Speaker 2: the right address. I just need you to do what
- 41:14Speaker 2: it is I'm telling you to do. And what looked uncomfortable,
- 41:18Speaker 2: what felt uncomfortable, was only him moving me to where
- 41:23Speaker 2: I'm supposed to be. And I know some days I
- 41:28Speaker 2: call on him and I talk to him, and I
- 41:30Speaker 2: know he's like, look, child, I don't talk to you
- 41:32Speaker 2: twelve times today. Already. Give me a break. You on
- 41:35Speaker 2: hold for at least three hours right now because I
- 41:39Speaker 2: don't need to talk to you. You don't talk to me
- 41:41Speaker 2: since your eyes open this morning. I need a break.
- 41:44Speaker 2: And I'm like, okay, but I still got some questions
- 41:47Speaker 2: about the rest of this day, and I will call
- 41:49Speaker 2: on him throughout the day. I'm like, God, I don't
- 41:51Speaker 2: know what your children do in today, but I need
- 41:54Speaker 2: you to help me to help them because I don't
- 41:57Speaker 2: know what this is because I work in healthcare, and
- 41:59Speaker 2: so you don't know what you want to get You
- 42:03Speaker 2: know it's gonna be then, you know, here and there,
- 42:06Speaker 2: and it's like, God, I need you to help me,
- 42:10Speaker 2: to help your children because today they act in a
- 42:13Speaker 2: way that I don't even know how to help them.
- 42:15Speaker 2: And I'm trying because this ain't it. But oh my gosh,
- 42:25Speaker 2: this is such a overwhelming sense of gratitude. Being able
- 42:34Speaker 2: to share the goodness of God in a way that
- 42:39Speaker 2: not everybody is able to relate to, being able to
- 42:42Speaker 2: come from where you've come from, to have that stroke
- 42:46Speaker 2: to relearn and to rebuild that relationship with God. And
- 42:50Speaker 2: when you know that it was no one but God
- 42:53Speaker 2: that brought you out, because there was a man that
- 42:57Speaker 2: could done, could have done what he's done to put
- 43:00Speaker 2: you in a space and an opportunity to connect with
- 43:04Speaker 2: the people that are necessary for what He has for you.
- 43:12Speaker 2: I'm just I'm overwhelmed right now.
- 43:15Speaker 5: You mean both, can you believe? So? I was so scared.
- 43:19Speaker 5: I was super nervous about why I'm shy.
- 43:25Speaker 4: Normally I'm very shy, and I'm.
- 43:32Speaker 5: Kind of introverted, you know, so so I like being
- 43:37Speaker 5: in the background.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 43:39Speaker 4: I can I can, you know, write a book, but
- 43:41Speaker 4: can somebody else show it?
- 43:42Speaker 5: For me.
- 43:43Speaker 4: I can draw a picture, but I just wanted to
- 43:47Speaker 4: hang it up and run away, you know.
- 43:49Speaker 5: But I'm learning, you know. I'm just like you.
- 43:53Speaker 4: Mentioned, I have to step out of my comfort zone.
- 43:59Speaker 4: I have a voice and I want to I want
- 44:03Speaker 4: to use it. I want to use it to show
- 44:05Speaker 4: how God is helping me. I wanted to show how
- 44:09Speaker 4: God is helping others, and I want to.
- 44:13Speaker 5: Share my book.
- 44:15Speaker 4: Yes, but but but God is at the forefront of
- 44:22Speaker 4: all of this. Yes, he is what is helping me
- 44:27Speaker 4: to grow. He is what is helping me to reach
- 44:33Speaker 4: potentials I never knew that I was.
- 44:35Speaker 5: Able to read. He is helping me.
- 44:40Speaker 4: With things I don't even know that are going to
- 44:42Speaker 4: happen yet, right, which is what this whole platform is about.
- 44:47Speaker 4: I have the idea what my future brings, but I
- 44:51Speaker 4: know with God in it, it's going to be.
- 44:55Speaker 5: It's going to be something.
- 44:57Speaker 2: That's why I said the best is yet to come.
- 45:00Speaker 2: There's so much more ahead. And it's like you didn't
- 45:06Speaker 2: know what you had in you until you had to
- 45:09Speaker 2: dig deep. God is already instilled in us everything that
- 45:12Speaker 2: we are gonna need throughout our lifetime. But he puts
- 45:17Speaker 2: us in places and situations to dig deep within to
- 45:21Speaker 2: know that what He's instilled in us. And it's never
- 45:24Speaker 2: that he puts so much on us that we're not
- 45:27Speaker 2: able to bear it. It's just knowing when to go
- 45:31Speaker 2: to him for the guidance to use what he's given
- 45:35Speaker 2: us already, because he says, I've given you all of
- 45:41Speaker 2: the tools that you need. I just need you to
- 45:43Speaker 2: dig deep and trust me through this process because I'm
- 45:47Speaker 2: gonna get you where you need to go. He'll never
- 45:51Speaker 2: look at what your finances look like. He'll never look
- 45:54Speaker 2: at what you live in, what car you drive, He
- 45:57Speaker 2: doesn't look at any of that. He looks at how
- 46:00Speaker 2: much do you have faith and trust in what He's
- 46:04Speaker 2: about to do for you and in your life. And
- 46:07Speaker 2: we also have to learn that when God says let
- 46:10Speaker 2: something go, to let it go, because He's not gonna
- 46:13Speaker 2: make you let go of something that he's not going
- 46:16Speaker 2: to replace with something greater and better than what it was.
- 46:20Speaker 2: And sometimes we stand in limbo trying to hold on
- 46:23Speaker 2: to both doors and because we like what we have
- 46:27Speaker 2: on the other end of this door, but God is like,
- 46:30Speaker 2: I need you to let that go, because what I
- 46:32Speaker 2: have is going to be greater ten times greater. But
- 46:35Speaker 2: do you trust me? And you can pray a prayer
- 46:39Speaker 2: and you're like, God, I need an increase in this.
- 46:41Speaker 2: But then you suck at having patience and you want
- 46:45Speaker 2: him to bless you right then and there. But he'll
- 46:48Speaker 2: take you through some things because he knows that you're
- 46:50Speaker 2: not ready. And so patience is the thing that you
- 46:53Speaker 2: need to learn. And so when you're asking God, this
- 46:57Speaker 2: is one thing that I have learned. When you're asking
- 47:00Speaker 2: God for something, please be very specific. And that is
- 47:06Speaker 2: why that I had said, I learned the hard way.
- 47:11Speaker 2: When I was praying and asking God, I was like God,
- 47:15Speaker 2: I am tired. I need a break. I need, you know,
- 47:19Speaker 2: a vacation. I need to rest. He gave me rest,
- 47:25Speaker 2: and in twenty thirteen, he gave me a break. He
- 47:28Speaker 2: gave me a He gave me a two year break
- 47:32Speaker 2: in that process. Because I didn't I wasn't specific. I
- 47:35Speaker 2: just asked for a break. I said, I'm tired, I
- 47:37Speaker 2: need I don't want to go to work, I don't
- 47:40Speaker 2: want to do anything. And that is the moment that
- 47:43Speaker 2: I had a major flare up with my condition and
- 47:46Speaker 2: they didn't know if it was another stroke. They couldn't
- 47:49Speaker 2: tell what it was. They kept trying to say that
- 47:51Speaker 2: it was complex migrains and so on and so forth.
- 47:55Speaker 2: And I went from speaking like this to my trembling
- 48:01Speaker 2: to basically having to write down all in a matter
- 48:05Speaker 2: of three days. Wow. It was like, Okay, I'm going
- 48:10Speaker 2: from hospital to hospital, doctor, the doctor, neurologists and neurologists,
- 48:15Speaker 2: and no one can tell me what's wrong. And I'm like,
- 48:19Speaker 2: this is not normal, this is not just a typical migraine.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Something is wrong. And so during that time, it's like, God,
- 48:26Speaker 2: I need you more than I need myself. I need
- 48:30Speaker 2: you to help me to get through this. I have
- 48:32Speaker 2: three kids I gotta take care of and I need
- 48:36Speaker 2: to know how I'm supposed to maneuver through all of this,
- 48:40Speaker 2: and I didn't know. I had no clue. And God
- 48:45Speaker 2: was everything to me during that time, and he helped
- 48:49Speaker 2: me to know that when I can't lean on anybody else,
- 48:52Speaker 2: I can always lean on him and he will provide
- 48:55Speaker 2: everything that I need. And when I tell you, he
- 49:00Speaker 2: provided everything that I needed. I did not want for anything,
- 49:05Speaker 2: neither that my children. We were cared for and provided for.
- 49:09Speaker 2: And He sent the people who needed to help me.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Get through. And I struggle with asking for help, and
- 49:16Speaker 2: people think that the pride thing, and it has absolutely
- 49:20Speaker 2: nothing to do with pride. It's not an ego thing,
- 49:24Speaker 2: is it has nothing to do with either one of
- 49:26Speaker 2: those things. I just struggle with asking for help and
- 49:30Speaker 2: assistance because as a child, I've grown up with asking
- 49:36Speaker 2: for help and still not getting it and not receiving it.
- 49:40Speaker 2: So I just learned to not ask and just figure
- 49:45Speaker 2: it out on my own. But I learned that I
- 49:47Speaker 2: didn't have to ask anyone but God because he would
- 49:50Speaker 2: always provide, and so that's what I do. And so
- 49:54Speaker 2: people are like, well, you can still ask, being I'm like,
- 49:58Speaker 2: you're right, I could, but mm hmm. That's the main
- 50:01Speaker 2: one that I know will always provide. I just have
- 50:05Speaker 2: to be patient and letting him do it on his
- 50:09Speaker 2: time and not mine. So God is good. God is amazing.
- 50:14Speaker 2: And I'm gonna keep saying that over and over again
- 50:20Speaker 2: before we get out of here, because we will definitely
- 50:22Speaker 2: continue this conversation long before, long after this, So we're
- 50:27Speaker 2: gonna exchange numbers and everything. So we're gonna do all
- 50:31Speaker 2: of that.
- 50:32Speaker 5: But is there.
- 50:33Speaker 2: Anything you want the listeners tonight to know about you,
- 50:39Speaker 2: and to take from this conversation tonight that we didn't cover.
- 50:44Speaker 5: Well, I definitely you know from my from.
- 50:48Speaker 4: My experiences in life and dealing with my health and
- 50:53Speaker 4: the death of my mom and my aunt. The one
- 50:56Speaker 4: thing I've learned is to not take life for granted.
- 51:00Speaker 4: And I love to tell people you can get fired
- 51:04Speaker 4: from a job, but you can't get fired from your gift.
- 51:11Speaker 4: So you take care of yourself and to share that
- 51:16Speaker 4: gift with others. Yes, yes, and I just want to,
- 51:22Speaker 4: you know again, show my book.
- 51:24Speaker 5: Yes, and I have some little friends with me too
- 51:28Speaker 5: that I know your granddaughter would thank you. Yes, they are.
- 51:44Speaker 5: I'm working on getting more made.
- 51:47Speaker 4: But be cute my book. My book is on Amazon,
- 51:54Speaker 4: and but you can get a signed copy from my
- 51:59Speaker 4: web wrights R I. T. E. S. That's where you
- 52:09Speaker 4: can get us signed copy of Okay.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Well, I'm definitely gonna be doing that because and I
- 52:17Speaker 2: need those two little dolls as well for a green movie.
- 52:21Speaker 2: So yeah, it has been truly an honor and a
- 52:25Speaker 2: privilege to talk with you tonight. We are bunded now
- 52:29Speaker 2: for life, so yes, we are just get used to
- 52:33Speaker 2: it because me and you must never part. So we
- 52:39Speaker 2: are sisters, because God created us that way and it
- 52:44Speaker 2: took us going through the motions to get here for
- 52:48Speaker 2: this moment. So I'm grateful, honored, and privileged to have
- 52:53Speaker 2: the opportunity to meet you, to get to know you,
- 52:56Speaker 2: and it's going to continue. But I want to thank
- 53:00Speaker 2: everybody for tuning in tonight. And you know, I cannot
- 53:04Speaker 2: end this show without saying the thing that I say
- 53:07Speaker 2: all the time, and that is stay out of God's business.
- 53:11Speaker 2: The only thing he needs you to do is be
- 53:13Speaker 2: obedient to what he's called you to do. So until
- 53:16Speaker 2: next time, I'll see you guys next month.
- 53:20Speaker 5: Bye bye.
