- 0:10Speaker 1: Hi, this is Doug Bradley, pinhead from the Hellraiser Films.
- 0:13Speaker 2: You're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 0:14Speaker 1: You better keep listening to Movie Meltdown or I will
- 0:17Speaker 1: tear your soul apart.
- 0:27Speaker 3: This episode is rated M for Misty. Yes, that's right,
- 0:31Speaker 3: this is a Misty episode, so it will be laced
- 0:33Speaker 3: with profanity even more than usual. If you're not comfortable
- 0:36Speaker 3: with this level of profanity, perhaps this isn't the episode
- 0:39Speaker 3: for you. but we have many other episodes to choose
- 0:41Speaker 3: from that do not feature Misty and will probably be
- 0:44Speaker 3: far less offensive.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Okay, maybe.
- 0:46Speaker 3: With that having been said, on with the show.
- 0:49Speaker 5: It's showtime. Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts
- 0:55Speaker 5: of power.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I'm doing a human interest piece on you.
- 1:28Speaker 6: Well, I'm flattered.
- 1:29Speaker 7: I'd love for your piece.
- 1:30Speaker 8: To be on me.
- 1:39Speaker 7: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:41Speaker 4: I'm Brian.
- 1:42Speaker 9: I am Misty.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I'm Ken.
- 1:43Speaker 7: We have run into Ken here at the, let's see,
- 1:46Speaker 7: where are we?
- 1:47Speaker 1: At the Days of the Dead Indianapolis.
- 1:50Speaker 7: We are coming to you live via digital recording from
- 1:52Speaker 7: Days of the Dead in Indianapolis. And we've wandered around most.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Of the day.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 9: I'm tired.
- 1:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Kind of exhausting. We're all sweaty messes.
- 2:03Speaker 7: It usually is kind of exhausting at all.
- 2:05Speaker 9: I don't sweat. I glisten.
- 2:06Speaker 5: Oh, yes.
- 2:07Speaker 7: Because she's a girl.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Duh.
- 2:09Speaker 9: That's how it works.
- 2:12Speaker 7: Do we want to address the show festivities first and foremost?
- 2:16Speaker 9: What festivities? The panel? Are we talking about the panel?
- 2:18Speaker 9: We went to a panel. I hardly ever go to panels,
- 2:20Speaker 9: but I was pretty excited. I think I was more
- 2:22Speaker 9: excited than half the people that were up there because
- 2:24Speaker 9: I'm pretty sure some of them were still asleep.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Possibly high.
- 2:29Speaker 9: Possibly high and or drunk. I'm not really sure. I mean,
- 2:34Speaker 9: I'm not judging. Whatever. Who cares? I could have done
- 2:37Speaker 9: without the bandana.
- 2:40Speaker 7: From somebody. We're not going to name names.
- 2:42Speaker 10: No.
- 2:42Speaker 9: I think his name's Craig.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Okay.
- 2:46Speaker 7: If he doesn't know how this game works.
- 2:49Speaker 9: Why do I care? Shit. Bandana was silly. You're a
- 2:53Speaker 9: white guy. Knock that shit off.
- 2:55Speaker 7: He might be a crip. You don't know.
- 2:57Speaker 9: It was baby blue. That's no crip. That's like faded blue.
- 3:00Speaker 7: Baby crip?
- 3:01Speaker 10: No.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Baby crip.
- 3:03Speaker 7: Baby crip. Smart cool. There you go. That's the prequel.
- 3:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 1: No, it's been interesting.
- 3:10Speaker 11: I was really stoked early on because Dario Argento is
- 3:14Speaker 11: going to make his Midwest Indianapolis debut. And a damn
- 3:18Speaker 11: set of stairs wound up ruining all of that.
- 3:22Speaker 1: So he wasn't able to make it.
- 3:25Speaker 7: As I said, older celebrities, stop falling down. It's killed
- 3:30Speaker 7: two of you recently.
- 3:31Speaker 9: No more stairs.
- 3:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 9: Those little things that pick your ass up and carry
- 3:35Speaker 9: you up the stairs.
- 3:36Speaker 7: You've seen Gremlins.
- 3:37Speaker 1: That's right, Polly Holliday. Where's she at? She's probably dead, too.
- 3:40Speaker 7: Probably because she fell down the stairs.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Damn stairs.
- 3:42Speaker 7: So, yeah, as if the whole, you know, HR Giger
- 3:46Speaker 7: thing wasn't bad enough. Then we had A & B Davis.
- 3:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 7: Now Argento's trying to throw himself down.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I don't know what's going on. Can't they get a
- 3:52Speaker 1: ranch-style home and be okay with it?
- 3:54Speaker 12: Really?
- 3:54Speaker 7: Just get rid of these stairs.
- 3:56Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 7: It's crazy.
- 3:58Speaker 11: So that was a bummer. So I've been kind of
- 4:00Speaker 11: hungover a little bit. just to start this thing geek
- 4:03Speaker 11: hangover yeah exactly it's like well you know the main
- 4:06Speaker 11: guy isn't going to be here so whatever you know
- 4:08Speaker 11: so um it's been interesting though it's it's um you
- 4:13Speaker 11: know like terry's here.
- 4:15Speaker 7: Um oh wait wait okay let's go ahead and hand
- 4:17Speaker 7: this to mr.
- 4:18Speaker 9: Okay You mean the reasonable facsimile that used to be
- 4:20Speaker 9: Tara Reade? Because I'm pretty sure none of that is
- 4:22Speaker 9: actually her original parts anymore. I don't think she has
- 4:26Speaker 9: a belly button that rests somewhere between her boobs. I'm
- 4:29Speaker 9: not really sure.
- 4:30Speaker 7: I think it's in the center of her back.
- 4:33Speaker 9: Because they managed to actually flatten her stomach back out.
- 4:36Speaker 9: It's not lumpy like it was. Because it was quite
- 4:39Speaker 9: a mess for a while. I don't think I'm shocking
- 4:41Speaker 9: anybody when I say this.
- 4:42Speaker 5: Wow.
- 4:43Speaker 9: This is not a big surprise. Everybody knows the Franken-nipple incident.
- 4:48Speaker 9: Everybody knows the belly with the lumps, and it was
- 4:52Speaker 9: no good. I cannot speak for the nipples, but the
- 4:57Speaker 9: belly has been fixed.
- 4:59Speaker 7: We can discuss how they used to be, but we
- 5:01Speaker 7: didn't see them today. They did not make an appearance
- 5:03Speaker 7: so far.
- 5:05Speaker 9: But she has no ass. I don't know if it's
- 5:08Speaker 9: because they pulled her stomach up so flat that it's
- 5:11Speaker 9: pulled her ass out from underneath of her.
- 5:13Speaker 1: She does have big shoulders, so maybe there's something there.
- 5:16Speaker 9: There's absolutely zero abs. The toddler-sized pants that she's wearing,
- 5:21Speaker 9: there's nothing to keep them up.
- 5:23Speaker 7: I mean, I'm serious.
- 5:24Speaker 9: I am not being facetious. My entire arm is bigger
- 5:28Speaker 9: around than her entire leg, like top to bottom. I mean,
- 5:31Speaker 9: her leg's a little bit longer because she's not a
- 5:33Speaker 9: weird freakishly mutant short-legged person.
- 5:35Speaker 7: I'm going to corroborate your ass story. I won't fight
- 5:40Speaker 7: the fact that I was looking at your ass, but
- 5:42Speaker 7: there wasn't any ass there. I just kept staring over
- 5:44Speaker 7: there going, what?
- 5:46Speaker 9: I saw an ass crack, I think.
- 5:48Speaker 7: There was some sort of crack involved, but there was
- 5:50Speaker 7: no ass attached to it. It's confusing, really.
- 5:53Speaker 9: It was broken.
- 5:54Speaker 10: Oh, man.
- 5:55Speaker 9: But, I mean, she was a lot tinier and petiter
- 5:57Speaker 9: and cuter than I had anticipated. I was like, oh,
- 5:59Speaker 9: my God, this is going to be a fucking train wreck.
- 6:01Speaker 9: This is going to be a nightmare. This is going
- 6:02Speaker 9: to be like, ugh. But then I saw her, I'm like,
- 6:04Speaker 9: you know? She looks really cute.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Yeah. And she was so tiny.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:08Speaker 9: Like tiny. Even her head.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I have to admit, I was kind of disappointed.
- 6:12Speaker 9: By her tiny cranium?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Well, no, just that she wasn't a hot mess. That
- 6:16Speaker 1: it wasn't a train wreck. Yeah, that it wasn't a
- 6:18Speaker 1: train wreck. You know, it's like Gary Busey was here
- 6:20Speaker 1: last year, last summer.
- 6:22Speaker 11: And I was like telling a buddy of mine, I'm like,
- 6:24Speaker 11: I just kind of want to go with a stick.
- 6:26Speaker 11: Just like a poke him to see what will happen,
- 6:27Speaker 11: you know.
- 6:28Speaker 1: And we got here. He's like the most sedate guy.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Everything was cool. And I'm like. Son of a gun.
- 6:33Speaker 7: There was also a sign next to him that said,
- 6:35Speaker 7: please don't poke the pieces.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah, right. You know.
- 6:39Speaker 9: I have this running thing that eventually I'm going to
- 6:41Speaker 9: like take my finger and I'm going to shove it
- 6:42Speaker 9: into Sean Patrick Flannery's forehead and see if it like stays.
- 6:45Speaker 9: I'm pretty sure it's like silly putty at this point.
- 6:48Speaker 7: I still want to see you like attach the blondie
- 6:51Speaker 7: up there and see if it shows up on its forehead.
- 6:53Speaker 9: It very well might because I mean, granted, yes, he
- 6:56Speaker 9: is delightful. He's the nicest person. I can't help it.
- 6:58Speaker 9: But that face, I'm not, I mean, it's, It doesn't
- 7:01Speaker 9: look human at this point. I don't think you can
- 7:03Speaker 9: make human expressions. I think it's just kind of like
- 7:06Speaker 9: that one.
- 7:07Speaker 7: Speaking of Tawny Katane.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Yo.
- 7:10Speaker 9: I thought she was out here. Oh my god, yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 9: What was up with Tawny Katane's face? I mean, it
- 7:17Speaker 9: was pulled so... You couldn't pull that shit any tighter.
- 7:22Speaker 9: I mean, you just couldn't. It was like.
- 7:24Speaker 7: And why would you want to?
- 7:26Speaker 9: Seriously, it's like... It's like... I can't even, the face,
- 7:31Speaker 9: it's like her ears almost met in the back. It
- 7:33Speaker 9: was pulled so tight.
- 7:36Speaker 7: I was just trying to ask how much extra it
- 7:37Speaker 7: would be to pose with a photo over on the
- 7:39Speaker 7: hood of my car.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Yeah, which would be awesome.
- 7:42Speaker 7: And then how much it would cost to fix the
- 7:44Speaker 7: paint job.
- 7:47Speaker 9: Oh my God. Was there any other faces we were
- 7:52Speaker 9: terrified of? Oh, that one girl who always terrifies me.
- 7:56Speaker 9: Leanna Quigley. with her weird mole come on I've.
- 8:03Speaker 7: Not seen Leanna in quite a while so I pointed.
- 8:06Speaker 9: Out her weirdness just a while ago I'm like oh
- 8:08Speaker 9: look at her face and then we walked.
- 8:10Speaker 7: Away that's just sort of a normal status that's not
- 8:13Speaker 7: like an adjustment really.
- 8:15Speaker 11: There are several reasons to go to horror conventions one
- 8:18Speaker 11: is to be a fan of the movies the second
- 8:19Speaker 11: is to go oh my god I.
- 8:23Speaker 9: Was disappointed that that guy from Nightbreed aged so badly
- 8:27Speaker 9: Because he was old to begin with.
- 8:29Speaker 5: Which guy?
- 8:31Speaker 7: The one with the face.
- 8:32Speaker 1: The one with the face?
- 8:34Speaker 7: Yeah, the one that he cut his face off.
- 8:37Speaker 9: Yes, Narcissus. The one who wanted him to take him
- 8:39Speaker 9: to Meridian.
- 8:40Speaker 7: Meridian?
- 8:41Speaker 1: Midian.
- 8:41Speaker 9: Midian. I'm getting him. I'm taking him somewhere else.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Do you like to join in?
- 8:48Speaker 3: What are you talking about?
- 8:49Speaker 7: Tell us your favorite part. Tell us your name and
- 8:53Speaker 7: your favorite part of the festival today.
- 8:56Speaker 2: My name is Steve Vessel, and my favorite part are
- 8:58Speaker 2: all the boobs.
- 9:02Speaker 7: Well, enough about the idiots here. What did you like?
- 9:09Speaker 7: That was Steve. I don't know why he's insulting everyone
- 9:12Speaker 7: like that.
- 9:12Speaker 5: Oh, stop it.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Honey, help me.
- 9:15Speaker 7: Vinyl. You love vinyl.
- 9:16Speaker 4: This is true.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I love vinyl.
- 9:18Speaker 7: Lots of vinyl.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Lots of records here tonight. I found, well, and they're cheap,
- 9:22Speaker 2: no matter what anybody tells you.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Misty.
- 9:25Speaker 9: They're not my cheap level of cheap enough.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 9:29Speaker 10: $ 25 for.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Texas Chainsaw Massacre is cheap.
- 9:34Speaker 9: That's more than like $ 5. Screw it. It's like way
- 9:38Speaker 9: too much money.
- 9:39Speaker 7: For an extra $ 5, Grandpa will bring it to your
- 9:41Speaker 7: house for you.
- 9:42Speaker 9: I wouldn't doubt it. He ain't got nothing better to do.
- 9:45Speaker 9: It hangs out here in this hotel all the time.
- 9:50Speaker 7: Aside from that, have you seen any interesting movies lately?
- 9:54Speaker 2: Yes, Open Me, The Collective, volume, what, 10, 15?
- 10:00Speaker 1: Always good.
- 10:00Speaker 2: And it's freezing in the screening room. Nothing good to say.
- 10:09Speaker 7: He doesn't like any of his own comments.
- 10:11Speaker 1: There she is right there.
- 10:15Speaker 9: There she goes with her face.
- 10:16Speaker 5: It's weird.
- 10:18Speaker 7: As she's talking smack about Leanna.
- 10:21Speaker 2: No, don't do that.
- 10:24Speaker 7: Leanna Quigley has just gone past as Misty's talking her smack.
- 10:29Speaker 9: It happens.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Would you like to plug them in?
- 10:31Speaker 5: Sure.
- 10:45Speaker 13: Post-Mortem America 2021, starring Linnea Quigley, Cameron Scott's new film.
- 10:52Speaker 13: My name's Athena Prohodko. I'm also a filmmaker, such, since
- 10:56Speaker 13: I'm plugging things here.
- 11:00Speaker 7: Plug, plug, double plug. We stowed it. Commandeered it. And
- 11:07Speaker 7: if you'd like an autograph of someone, we haven't figured
- 11:10Speaker 7: out who.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I think his name is... William Jell-O.
- 11:12Speaker 7: We don't know who. It's to or from or any
- 11:15Speaker 7: of those things, really.
- 11:17Speaker 6: Oh, that's horrible.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Do they have, like, a lost and found?
- 11:21Speaker 9: Oh, wow.
- 11:22Speaker 7: It might be this person, since they have an entire photo.
- 11:25Speaker 13: To Christina.
- 11:26Speaker 7: So maybe that's Christine. We need to sit here and
- 11:29Speaker 7: wait until we see her go by.
- 11:30Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 11:31Speaker 7: Like, you! Come here!
- 11:33Speaker 5: No.
- 11:34Speaker 13: Hopefully they come back.
- 11:37Speaker 7: It came free with the tape.
- 11:54Speaker 13: Hey, one of my.
- 11:54Speaker 9: Favorite movies is a really shitty movie.
- 11:57Speaker 7: Which is?
- 11:57Speaker 1: Street Trash.
- 11:58Speaker 7: No, it's not shitty at all.
- 12:01Speaker 4: That movie was awesome.
- 12:03Speaker 7: No, it was awesome.
- 12:04Speaker 13: I absolutely love Street Trash, but it's terrible.
- 12:07Speaker 7: It's terribly awesome.
- 12:09Speaker 4: It really is.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Terrible.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Okay, we're going to fight. Fight, fight, fight.
- 12:13Speaker 13: No, it's actually one of my favorite movies ever, but yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 7: I'm going to get.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Some Viper now.
- 12:18Speaker 7: You have five minutes for a rebuttal.
- 12:21Speaker 2: I'm going to buy some Viper.
- 12:22Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Fuck you up.
- 12:27Speaker 7: There's very little editing going on in this it's good
- 12:29Speaker 7: anywhere details.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Would you like to tell people your favorite part of
- 12:35Speaker 2: the show.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Oh, man, there's so many. I come to these every year,
- 12:55Speaker 4: and there's just too many things to even mention. But
- 12:57Speaker 4: I'm just walking down the hallway, and there's Grandpa from
- 12:59Speaker 4: the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. And I met him at the
- 13:02Speaker 4: last one, and I got my picture taken with him.
- 13:04Speaker 4: He's getting a drink. And then I'm walking down the
- 13:07Speaker 4: hallway and almost bump into David Naughton from American Werewolf
- 13:13Speaker 4: in London. Are you kidding me? But I come out
- 13:16Speaker 4: to these every year. And this is the same building
- 13:18Speaker 4: that had the famous Monsters of Filmland convention. And I
- 13:21Speaker 4: was out here for that. And there was a guy
- 13:23Speaker 4: sitting behind a card table that nobody's talking to. And
- 13:27Speaker 4: so I walk up to him with my nephew, an
- 13:28Speaker 4: older guy. And his name was, let me think. I'm
- 13:30Speaker 4: trying to figure out. I remember what his name was. Oh, yeah,
- 13:33Speaker 4: Bala Lugosi Jr. You probably never heard of him. And
- 13:37Speaker 4: we walk up and we go, hey, we just watched
- 13:40Speaker 4: Abbott and Costello meets Frankenstein. And he goes, I watched
- 13:42Speaker 4: them make it.
- 13:43Speaker 7: Oh, he's got a one-up here.
- 13:47Speaker 4: I'll be telling people for the rest of my life, hey,
- 13:49Speaker 4: if you watched them make Abbott and Costello meets Frankenstein,
- 13:51Speaker 4: you could just pretty much walk around with your chest
- 13:54Speaker 4: stuck out.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 13:56Speaker 14: Absolutely.
- 13:56Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 14:12Speaker 4: And it's just too many people to mention.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot.
- 14:14Speaker 4: There was a guy that played Jason.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, Derek Mears.
- 14:17Speaker 4: I met him before, yeah.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a really nice guy.
- 14:19Speaker 4: I got a picture taken standing back to back of him.
- 14:21Speaker 4: I'm 6'4, and he made me look.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Like one of the.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Extras from The Wizard of Oz in the beginning of it.
- 14:28Speaker 10: Right.
- 14:29Speaker 4: You know, the over-the-road folks.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Right, I was just joking. You remember that movie, right? And, yeah,
- 14:36Speaker 4: just too many people. I was walking around. Oh, Doug Bradley.
- 14:38Speaker 4: How can I forget that one?
- 14:40Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Wow, Doug Bradley, Mr. Pinhead himself. That's right.
- 14:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Oh, and Butterball was a big surprise from the Hellraiser movie.
- 14:48Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 14:49Speaker 4: Everybody's going, yeah, he's little.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:51Speaker 7: Yeah, that's it.
- 14:52Speaker 1: That's what that was like.
- 14:53Speaker 4: I go, I bet you had fun making that. He goes, well,
- 14:54Speaker 4: not really.
- 14:55Speaker 1: He's got a hot costume.
- 14:57Speaker 4: I go, I bet you couldn't even eat. Yeah, it's
- 15:00Speaker 4: a blast. I think supernatural and science fiction films are
- 15:04Speaker 4: some of the greatest artwork around. Somebody asked me one
- 15:06Speaker 4: time what's the greatest sculptures ever done. I go, the
- 15:09Speaker 4: top two sculptures ever done is Michelangelo's Moses and Jack
- 15:12Speaker 4: Kevin's The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Oh, sweet. Yeah, right.
- 15:16Speaker 4: It is modern gargoyles.
- 15:19Speaker 1: When you look at the gargoyles in.
- 15:20Speaker 4: The cathedral, today's versions can be found in these movies.
- 15:24Speaker 4: And you're talking some of the best artisans. And some
- 15:27Speaker 4: of the nicest people, too. It's amazing. I talked to
- 15:29Speaker 4: the woman from Hellraiser, and she also works with animal
- 15:34Speaker 4: rights groups.
- 15:35Speaker 9: Oh, okay.
- 15:35Speaker 4: That's the kind of people you're dealing with.
- 15:37Speaker 6: Sure, absolutely.
- 15:38Speaker 4: The nicest people you've ever met, and definitely the most creative.
- 15:41Speaker 7: That's the thing, yeah, absolutely.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Am I giving you a good rundown?
- 15:44Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 15:45Speaker 1: This is exciting. This is great, yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 4: It's nowhere else can you walk down the hallway and
- 15:48Speaker 4: almost bump into the American werewolf.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:51Speaker 4: I told that somebody, and they go, you mean Indiana werewolf,
- 15:53Speaker 4: and I.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Go, okay.
- 15:58Speaker 4: Well, thanks. Thank you.
- 16:00Speaker 1: There we go.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:02Speaker 7: Passing us by, giving us the wrap-up.
- 16:04Speaker 3: That's it.
- 16:05Speaker 1: It's the full fan experience.
- 16:07Speaker 9: But she's got some cookie crunch over there, or cookie crisp.
- 16:10Speaker 7: That's nookie crisp.
- 16:12Speaker 9: I thought it was Cookie Crisp. I'm hungry, dude. Everything
- 16:15Speaker 9: looks like food at this point. I don't even care.
- 16:17Speaker 7: Nookie Crisp. She's got it in her bag over there.
- 16:20Speaker 9: I don't know what that is.
- 16:22Speaker 7: You probably don't want to.
- 16:23Speaker 9: I don't want to know, but I want some cereal.
- 16:26Speaker 7: I bet Tara E could hook you up with something.
- 16:28Speaker 9: I'm sure she could. She's weird.
- 16:30Speaker 7: All right. Where were we at before we got sidetracked
- 16:33Speaker 7: several times there?
- 16:34Speaker 1: Let's see. So Argento's a no-show. Because of health concerns.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Gravity.
- 16:40Speaker 7: Yeah, gravity. Stupid gravity.
- 16:42Speaker 1: They need to make.
- 16:43Speaker 11: Instead of doing Dracula 3D, his next movie should just
- 16:46Speaker 11: be called Stairs.
- 16:48Speaker 1: And it's just about.
- 16:49Speaker 11: People on stairs and the horrible things that happens. And
- 16:52Speaker 11: then the next one could be Tub.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Did you watch Dracula? I didn't.
- 16:57Speaker 9: I've heard horrible, horrible things.
- 17:00Speaker 11: I'm really kind of being a snob anymore. And it's like,
- 17:05Speaker 11: The last movie I've seen him do is what, I
- 17:08Speaker 11: can't remember which one came later, was Phenomenon or Opera,
- 17:11Speaker 11: one of those two. And after that, I've heard it
- 17:13Speaker 11: kind of started to slide downhill a bit.
- 17:15Speaker 7: I've heard not so favorable things.
- 17:17Speaker 11: Yeah, so I'm like, I can skip those and be
- 17:20Speaker 11: good with what I've seen, you know, so.
- 17:23Speaker 9: I'm just going to stick with Suspiria. Anything other than that,
- 17:26Speaker 9: I'm sure I'm just going to end up being disappointed.
- 17:28Speaker 9: I mean, there are certain things I do need to
- 17:30Speaker 9: branch out and widen my horizons of Argento movies as
- 17:35Speaker 9: I ain't going to lie. That's the only one I've seen.
- 17:36Speaker 3: But I love that one.
- 17:37Speaker 9: But I love that one.
- 17:38Speaker 1: You should see Inferno. The one that comes right after that.
- 17:40Speaker 1: It's the second part.
- 17:42Speaker 9: I want to see that. And I want to see
- 17:43Speaker 9: Deep Red.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:45Speaker 7: Creepers.
- 17:46Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 17:48Speaker 7: Jennifer Connelly.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Phenomena.
- 17:49Speaker 9: Phenomena.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Creepers.
- 17:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:51Speaker 9: Jennifer Connelly is so pretty. But I've heard that movie
- 17:53Speaker 9: is kind of slow and boring.
- 17:54Speaker 10: But.
- 17:55Speaker 1: It's cool. It's got a crazy payoff.
- 17:57Speaker 9: I do want to watch it. I do need to
- 17:59Speaker 9: watch more. I love Suspiria though.
- 18:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Suspiria is awesome.
- 18:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:03Speaker 9: If I said the name right. If not.
- 18:04Speaker 5: Sorry.
- 18:04Speaker 9: Sorry.
- 18:05Speaker 1: No, totally on it. Totally on it.
- 18:07Speaker 7: I think if you stick with that era, that older era,
- 18:10Speaker 7: you're probably better off. It's only as newer when some
- 18:13Speaker 7: fans do not seem to be too thrilled with.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:16Speaker 9: Fall down the stairs or do one of his pissed
- 18:18Speaker 9: off fans be like, oh, this is for Dracula. Shut
- 18:21Speaker 9: them down.
- 18:22Speaker 7: I think we need to make a short film documenting this.
- 18:25Speaker 7: I think you need to capture this moment.
- 18:28Speaker 9: Dog just walked by.
- 18:30Speaker 11: It's a crazy, it's a very pet-oriented one, because earlier
- 18:34Speaker 11: I saw PJ Souls and Nancy Allen were sitting next
- 18:39Speaker 11: to each other, and a guy just brought up a
- 18:41Speaker 11: random cat, like a kitten.
- 18:42Speaker 9: It was a kitten, and it was so cute.
- 18:44Speaker 1: And it had like a black mark on its face,
- 18:45Speaker 1: and it kind of looked like Hitler to me.
- 18:48Speaker 10: I don't know. Hitler.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I'm looking for Hitler, I guess.
- 18:50Speaker 7: It's... Why is that? Would you like to lay on
- 18:53Speaker 7: the table and we can try to figure out what
- 18:54Speaker 7: your obsession with Hitler is?
- 18:55Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 18:56Speaker 11: I think it just stems from wanting to beat some
- 18:59Speaker 11: short guy's butt. Or just that I don't like cats.
- 19:04Speaker 1: The kittens.
- 19:05Speaker 9: I don't like cats either, but I love kittens.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Well, see, that's his plan.
- 19:08Speaker 11: That's his master plan is that he is going to
- 19:10Speaker 11: take over the world one kitten at a time.
- 19:12Speaker 1: But he's so adorable.
- 19:14Speaker 9: Nobody cares.
- 19:15Speaker 1: I'll let it happen. I'll let it happen.
- 19:18Speaker 7: It does sound like a Hitler move.
- 19:20Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 19:21Speaker 9: Kittler. Because it's Kitten Hitler.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Kittler. Yes. There's a little more than that.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:31Speaker 7: That they are.
- 19:32Speaker 11: But, no, I got to meet probably number one on
- 19:36Speaker 11: my hottest babes of all time list. Other than my girlfriend.
- 19:42Speaker 11: I better put that in there because she is on
- 19:43Speaker 11: the show at times.
- 19:44Speaker 7: You're going to get in trouble.
- 19:44Speaker 1: She will beat my ass.
- 19:46Speaker 7: She can take you.
- 19:49Speaker 1: It is Sybil Dan. so I got to meet her.
- 19:50Speaker 1: That was pretty interesting. I'm not really sure who that is.
- 19:54Speaker 9: I mean, I saw your picture, but I'm not really
- 19:56Speaker 9: sure that I know who she is.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Did you ever see Howling 2?
- 19:59Speaker 7: That was my go-to. My sister is a werewolf. I
- 20:02Speaker 7: think I've.
- 20:02Speaker 9: Seen it, but it's been so many years ago that
- 20:04Speaker 9: I don't really remember it.
- 20:06Speaker 7: Do you like women in prison movies?
- 20:08Speaker 9: Not particularly. They are not my favorite. There goes PJ Souls.
- 20:12Speaker 9: Look at how adorable she is.
- 20:13Speaker 11: There's PJ Souls.
- 20:18Speaker 7: Previous guest on Movie Meltdown, PJ Souls.
- 20:21Speaker 9: What about tomorrow? Is she doing something tomorrow? Are you
- 20:23Speaker 9: doing something tomorrow?
- 20:24Speaker 1: No, we're only here for the day. I think she
- 20:26Speaker 1: was hoping.
- 20:26Speaker 7: I'm meeting her tomorrow.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Oh, are you?
- 20:27Speaker 7: But I didn't want to, I mean, go public with that.
- 20:30Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 20:32Speaker 7: Anyway, we'll keep that. Just me, her, and the Aunt
- 20:35Speaker 7: Jemima treatment. Anyway, go ahead.
- 20:37Speaker 9: I think she was confused. Maybe she thought that we
- 20:38Speaker 9: were somebody else. She was like, tomorrow, tomorrow. I'm like,
- 20:41Speaker 9: what's going on?
- 20:42Speaker 7: You just keep telling yourself that. I'm sticking with my story.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I could be somebody else.
- 20:47Speaker 10: Dude.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Because she is America's sweetheart. Who are we?
- 20:49Speaker 7: She is one of my favorite peoples ever.
- 20:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:52Speaker 7: Ridiculously nice and adorable.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Absolutely. Yeah.
- 20:56Speaker 11: My buddy Justin got her autograph today, and she was
- 21:01Speaker 11: the first celebrity we met at one of these. And
- 21:04Speaker 11: got an autograph from. And he's finished like a mini
- 21:07Speaker 11: poster of Halloween. He's had all the signatures from that.
- 21:11Speaker 11: And so she was the last one. So it was
- 21:14Speaker 11: kind of neat because she was like, I'm the last one.
- 21:16Speaker 1: It's like, yep, you know.
- 21:17Speaker 11: And then we started talking just in line because she's
- 21:20Speaker 11: in stripes.
- 21:22Speaker 7: One of my favorites.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Yeah, me too.
- 21:24Speaker 11: And he was like, he thought of in line. He's like,
- 21:27Speaker 11: I can't remember the line, but it's about Tito Puente.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Does that ring a bell?
- 21:32Speaker 11: Because at the beginning of the movie, there's a whole
- 21:34Speaker 11: thing about Bill Murray talking about.
- 21:37Speaker 7: He's beloved. Yeah, yeah, right. What does he say, though?
- 21:41Speaker 1: It's like, you don't like Tito Puente? Well, one day,
- 21:43Speaker 1: Tito Puente is going to be dead.
- 21:46Speaker 3: And you're going to be sad.
- 21:48Speaker 7: I was listening to him when nobody knew who he was.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Right, exactly.
- 21:51Speaker 7: That's a hipster move, if ever I saw him.
- 21:53Speaker 11: So, yeah, so we were laughing about that online, and
- 21:55Speaker 11: we got up to her, and we're like, yeah, we
- 21:56Speaker 11: were just talking about Tito Puente, and she looked at
- 21:58Speaker 11: us like, what?
- 21:59Speaker 1: You know, and we're like, Well, you know, from Stripes.
- 22:00Speaker 7: And she goes, oh, no, no, no.
- 22:02Speaker 1: That was another girl. That was his ex-girlfriend. I'm the
- 22:05Speaker 1: girlfriend he gets in the army.
- 22:06Speaker 7: Yeah, technically that is a whole different actress. So you're
- 22:09Speaker 7: in trouble.
- 22:09Speaker 1: But we loved it that she knew the movie so well.
- 22:12Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Like, you know.
- 22:13Speaker 7: That's true. Sometimes you do hit people that don't know
- 22:16Speaker 7: what you're talking about.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Yeah, you're right.
- 22:17Speaker 7: But I'm quoting your movie. But they're like, yeah, it was.
- 22:21Speaker 7: It was a job.
- 22:21Speaker 4: Leave me alone.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. I got to check royalties or whatever.
- 22:25Speaker 7: It depends who you're talking to. Some of them kind
- 22:27Speaker 7: of embrace that fan interaction, and some of them are
- 22:29Speaker 7: just like, eh, I showed up for work.
- 22:31Speaker 6: Leave me alone.
- 22:33Speaker 7: To each their own. There's nothing wrong with that.
- 22:35Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 22:35Speaker 7: I don't want to talk about work when I go
- 22:37Speaker 7: hang out with people.
- 22:37Speaker 5: Yeah, right.
- 22:38Speaker 7: I can understand their angle sometimes. Sure. So aside from
- 22:44Speaker 7: PJ being awesome, who else did you run into?
- 22:48Speaker 11: Nancy Allen was sitting next to her and it was
- 22:51Speaker 11: everything I didn't have a lot of cash for this
- 22:54Speaker 11: one and so I really was kind of like you
- 22:57Speaker 11: know weighing my options I regret not getting her autograph
- 22:59Speaker 11: because she is sweet I think about it but I
- 23:03Speaker 11: think I'll be alright yeah but.
- 23:05Speaker 7: I was going to just be like I was just
- 23:07Speaker 7: talking to Robocop but she's like his name's Peter get
- 23:10Speaker 7: away from my table but here's a picture on my
- 23:14Speaker 7: phone she'd be like I don't get away from my
- 23:15Speaker 7: table I get that.
- 23:17Speaker 5: A lot.
- 23:19Speaker 1: That'd be a good end, though.
- 23:21Speaker 11: I'm like, wow, you were this close to John Travolta.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Because I love Blowout. Blowout's a great flick.
- 23:26Speaker 7: Now she has cooties.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I love Travolta.
- 23:31Speaker 7: Old Travolta or crazy Travolta?
- 23:33Speaker 1: I like them both. Crazy one. Have you ever seen,
- 23:38Speaker 1: complete segue, From Paris with Love?
- 23:40Speaker 7: I'm familiar with it. And I still, what was his motivation?
- 23:45Speaker 1: It's hilariously awesome.
- 23:46Speaker 7: Where was he going with it?
- 23:48Speaker 1: He finally was like, you know what? I am bald.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I'll go bald with this.
- 23:52Speaker 7: And I'll dye my hair a weird color on my
- 23:55Speaker 7: face though because I got rid of my other hair.
- 23:59Speaker 11: But what's great is the stunts that are done because
- 24:02Speaker 11: it's obviously him getting ready to jump to kick some
- 24:05Speaker 11: guy's ass. And then it's like a guy who's at
- 24:07Speaker 11: least three sizes smaller.
- 24:09Speaker 7: And a third of his age.
- 24:10Speaker 1: It's like he just He, like, exhales all this weight,
- 24:14Speaker 1: and then he just goes in.
- 24:15Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 24:16Speaker 1: It's awesome. It's absolutely awesome.
- 24:18Speaker 5: Nice.
- 24:19Speaker 1: But, yeah, no, it was really cool to see her,
- 24:22Speaker 1: and she's adorable.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:23Speaker 1: So, yeah. Very sweet to her fans.
- 24:28Speaker 9: Ashley Lawrence liked my tattoo. I was pretty excited about that.
- 24:32Speaker 7: Star of Hellraiser.
- 24:33Speaker 9: Yes, she is delightful and gorgeous. And I was walking by,
- 24:36Speaker 9: because I ended up getting Doug Bradley's autograph, and I
- 24:39Speaker 9: felt bad. I'm like, oh, my God, what if she
- 24:40Speaker 9: sees me getting his and not hers? I'm going to
- 24:42Speaker 9: feel so bad.
- 24:43Speaker 7: She will smack you.
- 24:44Speaker 9: But I was walking by, and she's like, come here.
- 24:47Speaker 9: I'm like, what?
- 24:47Speaker 1: She's like, let me see it.
- 24:49Speaker 9: And I'm like, I left that on. She's like, that's
- 24:50Speaker 9: fucking cool.
- 24:51Speaker 1: That's what she said.
- 24:53Speaker 7: She's been hanging out with Doug Bradley using that kind
- 24:55Speaker 7: of language.
- 24:56Speaker 9: He said fuck during the panel, and there was kids
- 24:58Speaker 9: in front of us, and I'm.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Like, oh.
- 25:00Speaker 7: Yeah, but they had an iPad, so they weren't paying
- 25:02Speaker 7: attention to anything.
- 25:03Speaker 9: At least they weren't screaming like the one in the back.
- 25:06Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a shrill nightmare.
- 25:10Speaker 7: Why were you poking that child?
- 25:12Speaker 1: It was not me.
- 25:14Speaker 7: Stop poking children. How many times have we told you?
- 25:18Speaker 11: She'd figured out the lamentation configuration and saw the first
- 25:23Speaker 11: sign of, I can't think now.
- 25:24Speaker 1: What the dang it. I can't think of the place
- 25:27Speaker 1: that they go in Hellraiser. I wanted to say Midian,
- 25:29Speaker 1: but that's not it.
- 25:30Speaker 10: Meridian?
- 25:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:31Speaker 4: What's that? Purgatory?
- 25:34Speaker 5: St. Louis? Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 8: Maybe.
- 25:36Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 1: It's the same thing.
- 25:38Speaker 11: It's where that Rubik's Cube place. It looks like that
- 25:41Speaker 11: place in Time Bandits. That's where they go.
- 25:43Speaker 1: They all live in the Time Bandits world.
- 25:45Speaker 7: I'd be on board with that.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:46Speaker 7: Time Bandits is awesome.
- 25:48Speaker 1: You know. It's the blending of the streams, man.
- 25:51Speaker 7: You never cross the streams.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Never.
- 25:53Speaker 7: Well, you cross the streams.
- 25:54Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 25:55Speaker 11: We were talking, though, afterwards about that, going back to
- 25:58Speaker 11: that Nightbreed panel, that it's a shame that there's not, like, a,
- 26:05Speaker 11: you know, like, that was so innovative kind of at
- 26:07Speaker 11: the time, even though it's a hot mess.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I mean, you know.
- 26:10Speaker 9: I love it.
- 26:10Speaker 4: I love that movie.
- 26:11Speaker 1: I do, too.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:13Speaker 11: But it's, you know, it's so innovative because that's, like,
- 26:16Speaker 11: the first time on film, really, I mean, other than, like,
- 26:18Speaker 11: the Abbott and Costello stuff, where, like, the monsters are
- 26:21Speaker 11: actually the good guys, right? I mean, not even in
- 26:23Speaker 11: the Abbott and Costello, they just played for laughs, right?
- 26:25Speaker 7: Well, and there's this, like, super group of them, you know? Yeah, right.
- 26:28Speaker 7: It's like you get one bad guy. Yeah, you get
- 26:31Speaker 7: this whole community of, you know, what are basically, you know,
- 26:35Speaker 7: in a way they are, like, they're the freaks. But
- 26:37Speaker 7: then you get to that point, it is X-Men, like,
- 26:39Speaker 7: because they have these powers. And by the end, you
- 26:41Speaker 7: start to see, oh, yeah, they really are, like, you know,
- 26:43Speaker 7: kind of a force to be reckoned with.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Right, yeah.
- 26:46Speaker 7: It all starts falling apart.
- 26:48Speaker 11: But it's a shame, like, there's not, because, I mean,
- 26:50Speaker 11: you know, that honestly kind of is a precursor to
- 26:52Speaker 11: stuff like Twilight. You know, because Twilight is, you know,
- 26:56Speaker 11: a good vampire, sparkly vampires, whatever.
- 26:58Speaker 9: Shitty vampires. Sure.
- 27:00Speaker 1: But it's a good guy vampire thing. And, I mean,
- 27:02Speaker 1: that was kind of, you know, yeah, it's watered down to.
- 27:05Speaker 7: I mean, Love at First Bite was well before that.
- 27:09Speaker 7: One of my personal favorites.
- 27:10Speaker 6: That's a great one.
- 27:12Speaker 9: It is.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Children of the night, shut up!
- 27:18Speaker 13: It's great.
- 27:18Speaker 11: But, you know, we were just, you know, talking afterwards, like,
- 27:22Speaker 11: You know, it's a shame that there's not like an
- 27:25Speaker 11: HBO or a Showtime that's like, you know what, there's
- 27:28Speaker 11: enough meat here left on the table that we could
- 27:30Speaker 11: really do like a Game of Thrones kind of a
- 27:33Speaker 11: vibe to it, you know, and do a miniseries.
- 27:36Speaker 7: It's not totally unheard of because look at Buffy the
- 27:39Speaker 7: Vampire Slayer.
- 27:40Speaker 5: Yeah, right.
- 27:40Speaker 7: A failed movie that turned into like a super successful
- 27:44Speaker 7: popular TV series.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Right.
- 27:47Speaker 7: Ran for years and was really well written so i
- 27:49Speaker 7: mean there is a way to do something like that.
- 27:51Speaker 11: Yeah because it just i just feel like it lends
- 27:53Speaker 11: itself to such a bigger scale.
- 27:55Speaker 7: And it would be something that yeah even if you
- 27:58Speaker 7: just did like a season's worth of an arc on
- 28:00Speaker 7: like an hbo or a showtime or fx or whoever
- 28:03Speaker 7: wants to back it yeah yeah it's got enough well
- 28:06Speaker 7: that's what i was telling her on the way up
- 28:07Speaker 7: here that's one of the reasons i was such a
- 28:09Speaker 7: big fan of nightbreed is not just because i love
- 28:11Speaker 7: the movie but they had these weird, and it's funny,
- 28:14Speaker 7: she brought it up in the middle of that panel.
- 28:15Speaker 7: They had that, I had that book that she was like,
- 28:18Speaker 7: does anybody here have it? It's at home, but like
- 28:20Speaker 7: it had a photo breakdown of each and every monster
- 28:23Speaker 7: and a little bit of a backstory. Some of them
- 28:25Speaker 7: didn't even go into the backstory and then other ones
- 28:27Speaker 7: would give, you know, some of the bigger characters they've
- 28:29Speaker 7: given a big extensive backstory and like, Several shots, they
- 28:33Speaker 7: took them in for professional photo shoots in the full makeup.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:37Speaker 7: It looks amazing if you can find one out there. Sure,
- 28:40Speaker 7: it's out of print at this point. But yeah, if
- 28:41Speaker 7: you can dig one up, it's a great book. But
- 28:44Speaker 7: I always loved that. And then I was telling her earlier,
- 28:46Speaker 7: I read the Nightbreed comic series.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Oh, right.
- 28:49Speaker 7: And it was uneven. But I think it's because I
- 28:53Speaker 7: talked to Vince that was in Hellraiser. And he ended
- 28:56Speaker 7: up writing for Nightbreed comics years later.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Oh, wow. And I keep.
- 29:01Speaker 7: he was talking about how it did kind of get
- 29:03Speaker 7: passed off from one person to the next, and there
- 29:04Speaker 7: were different people in charge of getting it made. So
- 29:08Speaker 7: it sort of ended up in different hands quite often,
- 29:10Speaker 7: and that's why it ends up like the artwork will
- 29:13Speaker 7: change drastically from one issue to the next.
- 29:16Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 29:16Speaker 7: Like an entire new style, not even just like a
- 29:19Speaker 7: little different look.
- 29:20Speaker 5: Oh, my gosh.
- 29:20Speaker 7: Like it will be an entire different visual style from
- 29:23Speaker 7: one issue to the next one, and that was very strange.
- 29:26Speaker 7: But it would take certain runs that were really good.
- 29:30Speaker 7: And it would follow very specific characters and give you
- 29:33Speaker 7: side stories or introduce new characters to that little family.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Oh, that's awesome.
- 29:36Speaker 7: And that was awesome. So it's like I really can
- 29:38Speaker 7: see something like that. that, like, would take off and
- 29:41Speaker 7: be its own sort of a separate thing but still
- 29:43Speaker 7: connected to that basic, you know, the novel and the
- 29:46Speaker 7: original storyline.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely.
- 29:48Speaker 11: Yeah, I just, you know, I remember, like, you know, there's, yeah,
- 29:50Speaker 11: I've got that book too. And it was just not only,
- 29:53Speaker 11: you know, you actually get to see kind of in
- 29:55Speaker 11: detail the creatures that were in the you know the
- 29:58Speaker 11: film for just seconds you know in the background yeah
- 30:01Speaker 11: right yeah you could see up close and kind of
- 30:04Speaker 11: see the detail you.
- 30:05Speaker 7: Know which they put so much work into right it
- 30:07Speaker 7: seems ridiculous that they and maybe again maybe that's part
- 30:09Speaker 7: of stuff that got cut out yeah it's going back
- 30:11Speaker 7: in the cabal cut but yeah some of them just
- 30:14Speaker 7: like why would you spend so much time making these
- 30:16Speaker 7: elaborate and it's not even like it's makeup like some
- 30:18Speaker 7: of them are huge physical pieces that they're wearing. Some
- 30:23Speaker 7: are really huge and like a lot of work went
- 30:26Speaker 7: into it. And like you get maybe a half second
- 30:28Speaker 7: of it in the background of some other scene. And like,
- 30:31Speaker 7: it does seem like they should make more use of
- 30:33Speaker 7: all those characters and all that impressive, you know, makeup
- 30:36Speaker 7: and costuming that they did.
- 30:37Speaker 4: Right.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:39Speaker 11: It's just, it's a shame. I mean, it's, I guess
- 30:41Speaker 11: there is a, uh, they call it the cabal cut
- 30:44Speaker 11: or the cabal version that's coming out. I don't know
- 30:46Speaker 11: who's got there.
- 30:46Speaker 7: I think they said the Severin maybe. Did they finally say?
- 30:49Speaker 7: I didn't hear who they said. They said it is
- 30:52Speaker 7: like a fall release is what they were saying on
- 30:54Speaker 7: the panel.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Okay, so I didn't realize fall.
- 30:56Speaker 7: It is supposedly coming now. They've been commenting and teasing
- 31:00Speaker 7: that it was coming for four or five years at least.
- 31:03Speaker 7: And it's been rumored for fans well before that. So
- 31:06Speaker 7: it's good to hear that it sounds like it's actually
- 31:08Speaker 7: coming out.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 31:10Speaker 11: Were you at the Horror Hound in Indy where they had,
- 31:12Speaker 11: where Barker, Clive Barker was there and they had the.
- 31:15Speaker 7: We were there, but we were totally sidetracked. Yeah, I
- 31:17Speaker 7: don't think I knew they were doing a screening until.
- 31:19Speaker 3: After the fact.
- 31:20Speaker 7: That's why I was hoping they'd do one like something here.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that would have been great.
- 31:23Speaker 7: I guess at this point it's coming out, so we'll
- 31:25Speaker 7: still get to see it.
- 31:26Speaker 9: Well, half the cast was here, at least the important members.
- 31:30Speaker 9: I'm sure half of them were stunned. Well, at least
- 31:32Speaker 9: one of them seemed like he.
- 31:33Speaker 7: Was kind of high. Yeah.
- 31:35Speaker 9: Bandana needed to go, buddy.
- 31:37Speaker 6: He still looks good, though.
- 31:38Speaker 9: I mean, Uncle Keith still looks pretty hot. I ain't
- 31:40Speaker 9: gonna lie.
- 31:41Speaker 7: He held up okay for, you know, I mean, he's
- 31:43Speaker 7: been making movies for like 30 years now so i
- 31:45Speaker 7: mean that that happens he's looking decent they were all
- 31:48Speaker 7: kind of hanging in there.
- 31:49Speaker 9: Yeah yeah doug bradley's awesome.
- 31:52Speaker 7: Though doug bradley's always off i did.
- 31:54Speaker 9: I did finally break down and get his autograph so
- 31:56Speaker 9: i'm like we've seen him at so many conventions i'm
- 31:59Speaker 9: like he's getting up there i want to regret it
- 32:02Speaker 9: if i don't get his autograph.
- 32:04Speaker 7: But you did not bring your monkey for him.
- 32:06Speaker 9: Not bring a monkey and I think I'm not sure
- 32:08Speaker 9: who was more disappointed me or him because.
- 32:11Speaker 6: I think it was him the person in front of
- 32:13Speaker 6: us had a monkey oh really like a real monkey
- 32:15Speaker 6: oh okay actually.
- 32:17Speaker 9: He seemed very confused by their monkey because he looked
- 32:19Speaker 9: over at me like he.
- 32:21Speaker 7: Just kind of looked and shrugged and he's like this
- 32:23Speaker 7: is the crap I have to do he just smiled
- 32:25Speaker 7: somewhat into the.
- 32:26Speaker 11: Camera yeah it's yeah I wish there was like a
- 32:29Speaker 11: GoPro system like for like a celebrity or like a
- 32:33Speaker 11: you know borderline celebrity For one of these weekends because
- 32:36Speaker 11: of all the things that you're kind of confronted with,
- 32:38Speaker 11: you know, not just the questions, but like.
- 32:40Speaker 7: And you don't realize it again. People get like really,
- 32:43Speaker 7: you know, excited when they see him. But I'm like
- 32:45Speaker 7: and I think that and I try to leave people
- 32:47Speaker 7: alone when we're not doing something specific for the show
- 32:50Speaker 7: for that very reason. Because we were walking down the
- 32:52Speaker 7: hall earlier and it was actually it was Craig that
- 32:54Speaker 7: was walking by in front of us. and a guy
- 32:56Speaker 7: just standing at his table went, hey, let me ask
- 32:59Speaker 7: you something. And he kind of stops, and you can
- 33:02Speaker 7: see this little sigh of, again. Yeah, what is it?
- 33:06Speaker 7: He was being nice, but I'm like, okay, you think
- 33:10Speaker 7: it's just you, but at one of these weekends, it's
- 33:13Speaker 7: every 15 seconds there's somebody else going, hey.
- 33:15Speaker 5: Come here.
- 33:16Speaker 7: Hey, let me tell you. What about that one time?
- 33:18Speaker 9: I have to tell you what I just heard when
- 33:19Speaker 9: somebody walked by. It was some guy complaining to one
- 33:22Speaker 9: of his friends, and he said, I don't care if
- 33:24Speaker 9: she's blue or purple, as long as we can just
- 33:26Speaker 9: get along.
- 33:28Speaker 7: That's a very open-minded attitude.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Wow.
- 33:30Speaker 7: And I think we can all learn something from that.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Horror fans are nothing but progressive.
- 33:34Speaker 7: We all need to just get along, no matter what race, creed, color,
- 33:38Speaker 7: or sexual orientation.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Black and yellow, red or white, blue or purple, it's
- 33:43Speaker 1: all right.
- 33:44Speaker 7: It's all the same when the lights go out. Oh, wait,
- 33:46Speaker 7: did I say that wrong?
- 33:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 33:48Speaker 7: Sometimes I'm right, and I can't be wrong. My own
- 33:53Speaker 7: beliefs are in my song.
- 33:56Speaker 5: The picture, the figure, the drama, and then makes no
- 34:02Speaker 5: difference what.
- 34:02Speaker 8: Group I'm in.
- 34:06Speaker 7: I am everyday people.
- 34:11Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:13Speaker 1: There is a good one who.
- 34:15Speaker 8: Can accept the green one for living on the.

- 36:17Speaker 13: Thousand kings.
- 36:21Speaker 10: And i chance to meet him one night.
- 36:26Speaker 7: So as i said we we've been to the uh
- 36:29Speaker 7: chicago wizard world before so they've got quite a few
- 36:33Speaker 7: Since we're hanging out here.
- 36:34Speaker 9: They've got a lot. They're like all over the country.
- 36:36Speaker 7: That's what I was going to say. Since they're inviting
- 36:38Speaker 7: us to hang around here, I thought we would go
- 36:40Speaker 7: ahead and give the rundown. That's the difference with this
- 36:43Speaker 7: one is it's not just in one city. It's something
- 36:46Speaker 7: they've done kind of everywhere now. They've sort of taken over.

- 36:52Speaker 7: they are in the near future. But anyway, yes, you

- 37:40Speaker 3: Doo-Wop Shop. We're serious about music.
- 37:56Speaker 10: This is PJ Souls, and you are totally listening to
- 37:59Speaker 10: Movie Meltdown.
- 38:00Speaker 8: It's part of your problem, you know. You haven't seen
- 38:05Speaker 8: enough movies. All of life's riddles are answered in.
- 38:13Speaker 11: The movies.
- 38:14Speaker 5: And now, on with the show. We got to live.
- 38:27Speaker 7: Do you want to comment on that, Elvira?
- 38:51Speaker 9: She was not busty enough. I saw her earlier. I'm like,
- 38:54Speaker 9: that girl is lacking enough boob to be a proper Elvira.
- 38:57Speaker 9: There was not enough cleavage. I've seen Elvira's cleavage. It
- 39:01Speaker 9: is glorious. And it was not it.
- 39:03Speaker 7: I was up close and personal, I have to say.
- 39:07Speaker 7: That costs extra. You know that.
- 39:09Speaker 9: Gotta pay extra to motorboater.
- 39:11Speaker 7: Damn it.
- 39:12Speaker 1: There's a parade of, yeah, costumes.
- 39:14Speaker 9: Assassin's Creed. That was the Assassin's Creed guy. That we
- 39:17Speaker 9: were talking about in the other room earlier. Because I
- 39:19Speaker 9: was talking about how excited I was going to be
- 39:21Speaker 9: when Michael Fassbender is Assassin's Creed guy. I don't know
- 39:23Speaker 9: the guy's name. It's just the Assassin's Creed guy.
- 39:26Speaker 7: But if he's wearing that big outfit there, you're not
- 39:28Speaker 7: going to be able to see him shirtless.
- 39:29Speaker 9: There'll have to be extended scenes. There'll have to be
- 39:34Speaker 9: a mysterious scene where he has to take a shower.
- 39:35Speaker 1: At some point. A misty cut.
- 39:38Speaker 7: Sort of Silkwood shower where they're scouring flesh off of it.
- 39:41Speaker 9: She'd been in the bathroom the whole time. I thought
- 39:44Speaker 9: she walked by.
- 39:45Speaker 6: Where did she go?
- 39:45Speaker 9: Where did she come in the bathroom from? I don't
- 39:47Speaker 9: remember her going in the bathroom. Where did she come from?
- 39:50Speaker 1: The whole time.
- 39:50Speaker 9: Did she hear me talk bad about her?
- 39:51Speaker 1: I thought I talked.
- 39:52Speaker 9: Weird about her.
- 39:53Speaker 1: She's weird.
- 39:54Speaker 7: She might come after you.
- 39:55Speaker 9: She might very well with her face in that mold.
- 39:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:00Speaker 9: I feel like she's behind me now.
- 40:03Speaker 7: Gonna pop out of that trash can. Recycle bin.
- 40:05Speaker 6: Get a shrink.
- 40:06Speaker 9: I almost threw garbage in there earlier. And I'm like,
- 40:07Speaker 9: wait a second. That is not where I put my hair.
- 40:09Speaker 3: You will get in trouble.
- 40:10Speaker 9: I will so much get in trouble. I think Luanna.
- 40:13Speaker 9: Luanna quickly might come and get me.
- 40:15Speaker 7: Is she like the spokesperson for recycling?
- 40:18Speaker 10: Maybe.
- 40:18Speaker 7: She's like the Smokey the Bear or the Woodsy the Owl.
- 40:21Speaker 7: Now the recycling spokesperson is Leanna Quigley.
- 40:23Speaker 9: Yes, yes it is.
- 40:26Speaker 7: Hey, where are you putting that?
- 40:27Speaker 1: I can totally see that happening.
- 40:29Speaker 9: Paper and plastic.
- 40:32Speaker 7: Uncanny, isn't it? It is, truly.
- 40:34Speaker 9: There's this sad, sad story that is John Heard.
- 40:39Speaker 7: Where do we begin with that one?
- 40:40Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 40:43Speaker 7: John Heard is just now passing by.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Hey, there you are.
- 40:48Speaker 7: Come join in with our talking of smacks.
- 40:53Speaker 1: What have you been up to?
- 40:55Speaker 7: First, introduce yourself.
- 40:57Speaker 6: Hi, I'm Justin.
- 40:59Speaker 7: And now, tell them what you've been doing.
- 41:03Speaker 6: What I've been doing here at this convention?
- 41:05Speaker 5: Yes.
- 41:05Speaker 7: We'll start with that, and then we'll go life in general.
- 41:08Speaker 6: Life in general. Okay. Never mind then, I didn't do anything.
- 41:12Speaker 5: Okay. Oh, sorry. Sorry.
- 41:15Speaker 6: Thunder Stolen.
- 41:16Speaker 13: No.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Somebody saw Corey Feldman.
- 41:20Speaker 6: Oh, I did see Corey Feldman and his angel, whose
- 41:25Speaker 6: name escapes me.
- 41:27Speaker 7: Do you want to be his angel?
- 41:28Speaker 6: A little bit. But I don't look good in it wings.
- 41:34Speaker 6: He probably would, actually. So I got to listen to
- 41:37Speaker 6: him speak about his life in film and his musical inspirations.
- 41:44Speaker 6: And he did say his favorite Corey film was Blown Away.
- 41:50Speaker 6: So check that out if you haven't seen it. Didn't
- 41:53Speaker 6: see that coming.
- 41:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 41:54Speaker 9: No.
- 41:54Speaker 6: He did admit to the worst being A National Lampoon's
- 41:57Speaker 6: Last Resort. So he's on board with that.
- 42:00Speaker 1: That was his worst.
- 42:01Speaker 3: That was his worst.
- 42:01Speaker 4: Not Meatballs 4, man.
- 42:02Speaker 6: It was the worst with Corey Haim. It was the
- 42:05Speaker 6: worst Corey's movie.
- 42:07Speaker 5: Yes. Yes.
- 42:08Speaker 6: So he did admit to that.
- 42:09Speaker 7: They're all made better with Corey Haim.
- 42:11Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 42:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:12Speaker 6: Even the worst is still... Not that great, but... Yeah,
- 42:17Speaker 6: so I got to hear him talk, and he was
- 42:19Speaker 6: very animated and sequence-y. Full of sequins and sunglasses and.
- 42:27Speaker 9: He's been here.
- 42:27Speaker 1: He's like the sequence fairy.
- 42:28Speaker 5: Yes.
- 42:29Speaker 6: You can see the trail of sequence from here to
- 42:31Speaker 6: his table.
- 42:33Speaker 1: It's a little bit of Corey.
- 42:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:36Speaker 6: So it was a lively conversation.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good.
- 42:40Speaker 10: Yes.
- 42:41Speaker 1: It's an ivory conversation.
- 42:42Speaker 6: He was much more animated than Craig Sheffer.
- 42:45Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Oh, there's the last name.
- 42:47Speaker 3: Oh, whoops.
- 42:48Speaker 9: I think this chair over here is more animated.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:53Speaker 6: And I believe Corey did as many drugs, so he
- 42:55Speaker 6: seems to remember a lot. So, got to give him that.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:01Speaker 7: Corey has never done drugs.
- 43:03Speaker 9: No.
- 43:03Speaker 5: What?
- 43:03Speaker 7: Either of them.
- 43:04Speaker 6: Not today.
- 43:05Speaker 5: All of them.
- 43:05Speaker 4: He did all of them.
- 43:06Speaker 6: Or not within this last hour. All of the drugs.
- 43:09Speaker 1: All of the drugs.
- 43:11Speaker 9: Why is there a Power Ranger here?
- 43:12Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 43:13Speaker 6: So yeah, anyways.
- 43:15Speaker 4: On that note.
- 43:16Speaker 6: That was a highlight right there.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:18Speaker 6: That was a highlight, yeah. I found some Albert Poon movies,
- 43:21Speaker 6: so that'll be my viewing. Albert Poon from Cyborg fame.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Cyborg, Sword and a Sorcerer.
- 43:28Speaker 7: Previous guest on Movie Meltdown.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Oh, right on, right on.
- 43:32Speaker 3: So yeah.
- 43:33Speaker 5: Yes.
- 43:34Speaker 4: So.
- 43:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:35Speaker 6: Radioactive Dreams and Dangerously Closed. So that'll be soon on
- 43:40Speaker 6: my watch list.
- 43:42Speaker 7: I was so shocked at number one, how awesome he was,
- 43:45Speaker 7: like how cool he was just as a guy to
- 43:48Speaker 7: sit there and talk with.
- 43:49Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 43:49Speaker 7: And then like how serious, like when you name off
- 43:52Speaker 7: the stuff he's done and you look at like the
- 43:54Speaker 7: old VHS boxes, you're like, all right, he's going to
- 43:57Speaker 7: be pretty, pretty silly and he's going to like his
- 43:58Speaker 7: schlocky stuff. We discussed a movie. He chose it.
- 44:02Speaker 4: Kubrick's 2001.
- 44:03Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 44:06Speaker 7: Not your take on.
- 44:07Speaker 3: It, Misty.
- 44:07Speaker 9: Dude, I can't even think about that movie without making
- 44:10Speaker 9: my brain hurt.
- 44:11Speaker 7: That's why you weren't on that episode. So we talked
- 44:13Speaker 7: about 2001, and then he goes into all of his
- 44:17Speaker 7: obsession with film as a child and growing up. on
- 44:21Speaker 7: an island that didn't have a way to, uh, develop
- 44:23Speaker 7: film and growing up to be a filmmaker. So like,
- 44:27Speaker 7: it was really like impressive just kind of talking to you.
- 44:30Speaker 7: And then it's even weirder to think about some of
- 44:32Speaker 7: the movies he's made me like, this is not the
- 44:33Speaker 7: guy I expected actually. So yeah, yeah, he's, he was
- 44:36Speaker 7: very cool, but very different than I, I saw him.
- 44:40Speaker 6: We did meet him at.
- 44:41Speaker 1: We did at a fright night in Louisville. Yeah. And
- 44:44Speaker 1: I was learning.
- 44:46Speaker 6: He was very friendly.
- 44:47Speaker 11: It was kind of sad though, because he was set
- 44:49Speaker 11: up in a hallway. Uh, Right next to, like, Sybil Dan.
- 44:53Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 44:54Speaker 1: I was like, okay.
- 44:55Speaker 11: You're not quite worthy enough to be in the celebrity room.
- 44:59Speaker 11: So you're like Moses, you know, here's the promised land,
- 45:01Speaker 11: and you get to walk around the outside.
- 45:04Speaker 1: So it was a little sad. But it seemed really nice.
- 45:07Speaker 1: He was happy. I was excited about it.
- 45:08Speaker 6: She had a little bit of space to stand, whereas
- 45:10Speaker 6: Albert had no space.
- 45:11Speaker 1: He had no space.
- 45:11Speaker 6: It was literally like his table and the walkway. And
- 45:14Speaker 6: if you stood to talk to him in that walkway,
- 45:16Speaker 6: you were obstructing, like, you're a fire hazard.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Pretty much.
- 45:20Speaker 7: I was not thrilled with that setup either.
- 45:22Speaker 1: No, no. Lousy hotel. But that's supposedly they're backing in
- 45:26Speaker 1: the better one, correct.
- 45:27Speaker 7: This year?
- 45:27Speaker 1: So hopefully.
- 45:28Speaker 7: As far as I know, I think they're ending up
- 45:31Speaker 7: at the same one as the last two years, but
- 45:33Speaker 7: they're doing it more or less like they did last
- 45:37Speaker 7: year pretty much. But last I heard, that's what they did.
- 45:40Speaker 1: I'll be on the record, and yeah, they're kind of screwy.
- 45:43Speaker 11: Because the one hotel they had a bunch of people
- 45:47Speaker 11: buy a pool. Like Margot Kidder and the bad guy
- 45:51Speaker 11: from Enter the Dragon.
- 45:52Speaker 7: Margot Kidder almost died. They had to relocate her the
- 45:55Speaker 7: next day because it was so hot in there she
- 45:57Speaker 7: was going to pass out.
- 45:59Speaker 1: So that's what you want. You want dead celebrities at
- 46:01Speaker 1: your convention.
- 46:03Speaker 6: That was also the John Carpenter incident with us. That
- 46:06Speaker 6: was not very good. That was a bad trip.
- 46:08Speaker 7: This sounds like a story. Hold on. What went down
- 46:11Speaker 7: with you and John Carpenter?
- 46:14Speaker 6: We had traveled to that show to get John Carpenter's autograph.
- 46:17Speaker 6: That was the main goal.
- 46:18Speaker 9: Did he blink at you because it's really creepy when
- 46:20Speaker 9: he does that?
- 46:21Speaker 12: No.
- 46:22Speaker 6: No, he was fine. He was fine.
- 46:24Speaker 9: He gave me the wink. He gave me the, hey, like,
- 46:26Speaker 9: there's something I missed going on or something. Like, hey.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Wow.
- 46:32Speaker 9: I got a wink that.
- 46:33Speaker 7: More creepy.
- 46:33Speaker 6: He didn't even blink the whole time I was near him.
- 46:35Speaker 6: I'm not sure.
- 46:37Speaker 9: If that's more or less creepy than the wink.
- 46:41Speaker 6: We found out when we got there that he wasn't
- 46:42Speaker 6: doing photos at his table. And so that there was
- 46:45Speaker 6: a– this was one of the first paid photo– Yeah,
- 46:50Speaker 6: this game. I mean, this thing, yeah. So we decided
- 46:52Speaker 6: that we would go together to get that photo. And
- 46:57Speaker 6: we got the photo. And they said after we got
- 47:01Speaker 6: the photo that it would take an hour to print,
- 47:04Speaker 6: which was– this was at 6. And we still had
- 47:06Speaker 6: a two-hour drive ahead of us.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:08Speaker 6: And so then at 7, the photo was not done.
- 47:12Speaker 6: And they said it would be another hour.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Or two.
- 47:15Speaker 6: So we decided to go eat dinner, and then we
- 47:17Speaker 6: came back at around.
- 47:17Speaker 5: 8.30 or 9.
- 47:18Speaker 6: I don't really remember the times, but it was like
- 47:20Speaker 6: two hours later. The photo was still not done. We
- 47:22Speaker 6: still had a two-hour drive ahead of us. We didn't
- 47:24Speaker 6: get that photo until 10 or 10.30. We didn't get
- 47:28Speaker 6: home until midnight or after.
- 47:29Speaker 11: We were expecting to be home by maybe 6 or 7.
- 47:33Speaker 6: Yeah, so we were only 6 or 7 hours off
- 47:35Speaker 6: schedule that day.
- 47:36Speaker 11: Because of digital cameras and.
- 47:40Speaker 1: Printing and, yeah.
- 47:41Speaker 6: So that was not a good... That was not good.
- 47:43Speaker 9: At least a good quality picture.
- 47:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it's decent.
- 47:46Speaker 7: It is all right.
- 47:47Speaker 6: It's a little crappy.
- 47:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it was okay.
- 47:49Speaker 6: Now, I've done them since. I did the one with
- 47:51Speaker 6: Robert Englund at Horror Hound a few times back, and
- 47:53Speaker 6: that one was really nice. So that company does a
- 47:56Speaker 6: really good job.
- 47:57Speaker 7: It's just become a whole new business now. Which, again,
- 48:00Speaker 7: it's the bigger Comic-Cons that started it, and then they
- 48:03Speaker 7: all realized, oh, we can make this much. So, I mean, yes,
- 48:07Speaker 7: they give you a little better quality, but... Now it's
- 48:10Speaker 7: a huge price tag that's attached to it. It's a
- 48:13Speaker 7: different world.
- 48:15Speaker 6: Now that one at Flashback coming up in August, they
- 48:17Speaker 6: have Robert Englund in the actual Freddy Krueger makeup.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Oh, really? Yeah.
- 48:22Speaker 6: For the last time.
- 48:23Speaker 7: For the last time. That's what I was going to say.
- 48:25Speaker 7: He's only going to do it one more time until
- 48:27Speaker 7: the new album comes out. But yeah.
- 48:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 48:30Speaker 6: Supposedly it's the last time.
- 48:31Speaker 9: It could be anybody in that fucking makeup. It's like
- 48:34Speaker 9: a pound and a half of makeup. It could be
- 48:35Speaker 9: random janitor Joe.
- 48:36Speaker 4: It could be anybody.
- 48:37Speaker 1: You don't know.
- 48:40Speaker 9: It could be me in that makeup. I'm going to
- 48:42Speaker 9: start wearing that makeup and I'm going to go around
- 48:44Speaker 9: and start charging people 365 goddamn dollars to take a
- 48:47Speaker 9: picture of me in some makeup.
- 48:48Speaker 7: This is how we're going to be funding Movie Meltdown.
- 48:51Speaker 7: We don't have any other income coming in so we're
- 48:53Speaker 7: just going to dress Misty up in Kruger gear.
- 48:55Speaker 9: How are they going to tell you for sure that
- 48:58Speaker 9: it's him without, like, picking it up? Then you're, like,
- 49:00Speaker 9: defeating the whole damn purpose. I mean, seriously, it's a
- 49:03Speaker 9: lot of makeup on there. I've seen, you know, people
- 49:04Speaker 9: wearing the makeup. It could be anybody.
- 49:07Speaker 7: It's probably not that kid from Bad News Bears.
- 49:10Speaker 6: But he then is getting interviewed by Sven Gulli. Sven
- 49:13Speaker 6: Gulli's interviewing Freddy Krueger.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Oh, nice.
- 49:16Speaker 9: It couldn't have been somebody good? Oh. Gulli's the worst, dude.
- 49:21Speaker 5: He is the worst.
- 49:23Speaker 6: I have tried.
- 49:24Speaker 9: He is so incredibly not funny and not even in
- 49:27Speaker 9: an ironic way. It's painfully unfunny because I've tried to
- 49:30Speaker 9: watch it. And I'm just like, dude, no, just stop.
- 49:34Speaker 9: Make your rubber chickens and just stop. I.
- 49:38Speaker 7: You have five minutes for a rebuttal.
- 49:40Speaker 6: There's a lot of Sven love on this side of
- 49:42Speaker 6: the table, I think.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Sven is great. I'm sorry.
- 49:45Speaker 11: There have been very few people that I've kind of
- 49:49Speaker 11: geeked out on, and for whatever reason, I was really
- 49:52Speaker 11: excited to see him in Chicago last year.
- 49:54Speaker 1: That was a lot of fun.
- 49:56Speaker 7: He was super nice.
- 49:58Speaker 11: To his fans and was willing to listen and take
- 50:00Speaker 11: photos and didn't charge, you know, which I know that sounds.
- 50:07Speaker 6: Really friendly to the little girl that stood behind us
- 50:10Speaker 6: after we got done. And then that little girl talked
- 50:12Speaker 6: to him for a while.
- 50:13Speaker 7: After you pushed that little girl down out of the way.
- 50:15Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 50:16Speaker 9: Oh yeah.
- 50:17Speaker 6: It was, you know, she wouldn't try to stand in
- 50:18Speaker 6: front of me in line anymore, but she was, he
- 50:21Speaker 6: was just great with her. Yeah.
- 50:23Speaker 1: Cause she was like, hi Sven. You know, she was
- 50:25Speaker 1: so excited.
- 50:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 50:27Speaker 11: And I mean, that's the thing. I mean, that's, you know,
- 50:29Speaker 11: he's the only one that really has the platform anymore.
- 50:32Speaker 11: To kind of expose these kids, little kids, to the
- 50:34Speaker 11: black and white stuff. Or the Hammer stuff that he
- 50:38Speaker 11: does show.
- 50:39Speaker 7: Being televised, anyway. I mean, that's the thing. To me,
- 50:42Speaker 7: at these shows, what you now realize is that there's...
- 50:45Speaker 7: And it just kicked in in the last few years
- 50:47Speaker 7: since the internet took over and became the weird YouTube
- 50:50Speaker 7: thing it is. But now there are 10 million horror
- 50:53Speaker 7: hosts out there. So you've kind of got to step
- 50:55Speaker 7: up your game. That's what I would say. Like, what
- 50:57Speaker 7: little I have seen of them, I'm like... he's got
- 50:59Speaker 7: a lot of competition now. It's like, he's one of
- 51:01Speaker 7: the few being televised, which is rare anymore. But, there's
- 51:05Speaker 7: a lot of people waiting to be the new horror
- 51:07Speaker 7: host anymore.
- 51:08Speaker 11: Well, you know, I mean, having more than one televised
- 51:11Speaker 11: would be great. You know, I mean, it would be
- 51:13Speaker 11: back in the day. You know, it's, it's Goularty. It's, it's, well,
- 51:18Speaker 11: the original spin, there's the guy.
- 51:19Speaker 1: In, Zachary.
- 51:20Speaker 11: So, I was trying to think of, you know, those
- 51:23Speaker 11: kind of guys. But, yeah, you know, it could only help. But,
- 51:27Speaker 11: at least right now on TV, I know, like, I've
- 51:29Speaker 11: got a buddy who's got a daughter who's seven, and
- 51:33Speaker 11: she came up to me, this was a couple years ago,
- 51:34Speaker 11: she came up to me and she goes, have you
- 51:36Speaker 11: ever heard of, out of the blue, have you ever
- 51:38Speaker 11: heard of a movie called House of Frankenstein?
- 51:41Speaker 1: And I'm like, yeah?
- 51:44Speaker 11: At that point, a six-year-old was asking me about that.
- 51:47Speaker 11: And she goes, well, I saw a commercial for it
- 51:48Speaker 11: on TV, and it looks really cool. And I'm like, okay,
- 51:51Speaker 11: this is great. So we watched it. It's a lousy movie, really.
- 51:57Speaker 11: But she loved watching it. It was just a lot
- 51:59Speaker 11: of fun.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Making memories.
- 52:02Speaker 7: I do like that. I think we've discussed that on
- 52:04Speaker 7: the show before, how many people were affected by that
- 52:07Speaker 7: when they were kids. And the weird Even then, they
- 52:10Speaker 7: were starting to die off compared to what they were
- 52:12Speaker 7: at one time. But, like, the last ones that were
- 52:15Speaker 7: still being televised were the ones that sort of were
- 52:17Speaker 7: latched onto by a lot of the people on the show.
- 52:19Speaker 7: And it's like, it does make a difference, and it
- 52:21Speaker 7: does sort of affect that generation coming up there. And
- 52:24Speaker 7: I do think it would be great. But, again, maybe
- 52:26Speaker 7: we're just being, you know, the old men and women,
- 52:29Speaker 7: if you want to get in on this. If you
- 52:31Speaker 7: want to be the old generation, I mean, maybe there
- 52:33Speaker 7: are a whole new brand of kids sitting there, like
- 52:34Speaker 7: the kids in front of us today, with their little iPad,
- 52:37Speaker 7: and they're watching... a YouTube version of that that somebody's
- 52:40Speaker 7: making in their basement that is maybe introducing them to
- 52:43Speaker 7: a whole new bunch of old classic black and white movies.
- 52:46Speaker 7: There's new ways to go about it. We just don't
- 52:48Speaker 7: realize it, I think, because we're still stuck in the
- 52:51Speaker 7: old way. We want everything to be the old way
- 52:53Speaker 7: because we're geeks. That's how we operate.
- 52:55Speaker 1: That would be pretty awesome.
- 52:58Speaker 4: It is.
- 52:59Speaker 1: It's just weird. I love seeing some of those.
- 53:03Speaker 11: Sometimes I'm a little offended because The movies that he
- 53:06Speaker 11: does have on sometimes are really, really good. Do you
- 53:10Speaker 11: really have to bust on Chris the Werewolf? Because that's
- 53:13Speaker 11: pretty great. But he's usually pretty cool about it. He
- 53:18Speaker 11: doesn't tear into the movie like an MST3K. It's more
- 53:21Speaker 11: of a, here's the movie and me doing wacky bits.
- 53:24Speaker 6: He doesn't interrupt it either. It's interrupted where it would
- 53:29Speaker 6: be a commercial break anyway. So he usually doesn't interject
- 53:32Speaker 6: himself into the movie. until right like as a bumper
- 53:35Speaker 6: you know so it's not like he's a part.
- 53:37Speaker 11: Of that exactly yeah unless it's deserved like you know
- 53:41Speaker 11: if it's a really crappy movie then yeah you know
- 53:43Speaker 11: by all means.
- 53:44Speaker 7: You know there's nothing wrong with mst3 i revisit that
- 53:48Speaker 7: on like a weekly basis now and i think they
- 53:51Speaker 7: kind of ignited that same thing and a lot of
- 53:54Speaker 7: people too that same generation that grew up with comedy
- 53:57Speaker 7: central and yeah so it's it's interesting i think so
- 54:02Speaker 7: oh did you get new toys I did.
- 54:04Speaker 6: I picked up Zombies, Dead Time Stories.
- 54:09Speaker 7: You don't have to read, do you?
- 54:11Speaker 6: Yes, actually. It's the scenario book edition, so it's the
- 54:14Speaker 6: whole book of reading.
- 54:15Speaker 3: So hard.
- 54:17Speaker 6: I'm hoping there's a lot more pictures, but yeah, I'm
- 54:19Speaker 6: hoping this will add to the excitement of Zombies, which
- 54:22Speaker 6: is a game I enjoy.
- 54:23Speaker 11: I was going to say, Justin is new to the
- 54:28Speaker 11: board game versions of some of the horror stuff, and Well, actually, too,
- 54:34Speaker 11: but we played it at Christmas, or not Christmas, New Year's,
- 54:37Speaker 11: I guess.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Yeah, New Year's. And around there, and really just.
- 54:41Speaker 7: Had a blast with it.
- 54:42Speaker 11: So occasionally we'll talk about maybe getting expansion packs or whatever,
- 54:47Speaker 11: and so this is an expansion to that where it
- 54:50Speaker 11: actually adds storyline.
- 54:52Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 54:52Speaker 11: So that's kind of a neat idea. So just randomly
- 54:56Speaker 11: walking around town blowing up stuff.
- 54:59Speaker 7: Nothing wrong with that.
- 55:00Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 55:01Speaker 6: Well, and it gave me a chance to tell them
- 55:02Speaker 6: that I backed their Kickstarter, so I wanted them to
- 55:04Speaker 6: pat me on the back physically instead of just through
- 55:06Speaker 6: an email. That thanks meant a lot to me.
- 55:10Speaker 7: I'm hitting miss on the games, but on the book front, Misty,
- 55:14Speaker 7: didn't you get a wonderful book lately you'd like to
- 55:16Speaker 7: tell people about?
- 55:17Speaker 9: Which book? The nudie book?
- 55:19Speaker 7: I figured that was the one you wanted to tell people.
- 55:21Speaker 9: 3D porn fucking A. I don't remember the actual name
- 55:25Speaker 9: of the book. All I know is that it involves
- 55:27Speaker 9: at least 40 some odd pictures. It's like vintage-y, like Like,
- 55:31Speaker 9: Tara Satana and, like, Betty Page. And a lot of, like,
- 55:36Speaker 9: 50s and 60s, like, nudie pictures. It's not, like, raunchy porn.
- 55:40Speaker 9: It's just nudie pictures. Somewhat, like, they're classy, I guess. But, yeah,
- 55:46Speaker 9: and it got 3D glasses, so you can see that
- 55:47Speaker 9: shit in 3D. Fuckin' A. Actually, I bought it here
- 55:51Speaker 9: in Indianapolis, the first one I bought. I had to
- 55:53Speaker 9: buy another one because I gave the first one to
- 55:55Speaker 9: my stepdad for Father's Day. After I made sure my
- 55:58Speaker 9: sisters weren't around. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
- 56:05Speaker 9: It's nudie porn. It's 3D.
- 56:08Speaker 7: I just like that at least it's vintage, like classic.
- 56:11Speaker 7: It doesn't get into the late 70s, early 80s era
- 56:14Speaker 7: of creepiness.
- 56:15Speaker 9: It's got Tara Satana in there. It's pretty awesome. I
- 56:19Speaker 9: can't remember the name of the damn book now.
- 56:21Speaker 5: 3D Naked Chicks.
- 56:23Speaker 9: Close enough works for me but uh yeah it's all
- 56:27Speaker 9: kinds of nudie porn not nudie porn it's kind of
- 56:29Speaker 9: redundant right there but 3D nudes but yeah it's not
- 56:34Speaker 9: like porny it's just it's fun I'm a sucker for
- 56:37Speaker 9: 3D I don't even care if it's in 3D chances
- 56:40Speaker 9: are I'm there.
- 56:42Speaker 7: What about your old phone was it in 3D fucking
- 56:44Speaker 7: yeah my old phone was in 3D what about that
- 56:46Speaker 7: new fancy TV yeah you guys got my.
- 56:48Speaker 9: New TV's in 3D and the blu-ray player.
- 56:50Speaker 7: You've got a problem we're working on interventions My.
- 56:53Speaker 9: Only problem is not enough things that I want on 3D.
- 56:56Speaker 7: Not enough 3D porn.
- 56:57Speaker 9: Not enough 3D Blu-rays within a reasonable price range. Shit's expensive.
- 57:01Speaker 9: Drives me nuts. I'm done.
- 57:04Speaker 7: How do you feel about the 3D home market?
- 57:07Speaker 1: There's a 3D home market.
- 57:09Speaker 7: Not in my house. That stuff's expensive.
- 57:13Speaker 9: Well, it all started because I won the Blu-ray player.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Oh, nice.
- 57:17Speaker 9: So I'm like, well, shit. I'm like, our TV is
- 57:20Speaker 9: getting kind of old. Where it gets the lines that
- 57:24Speaker 9: make it look like it's widescreen, they kind of curve
- 57:27Speaker 9: down on one side.
- 57:28Speaker 1: I think I had to go close up the show.
- 57:29Speaker 7: Seems like a problem.
- 57:30Speaker 9: So I'm like, if we're going to get a new TV,
- 57:32Speaker 9: fuck this. We're going to go big or go home.
- 57:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 57:35Speaker 9: You got a damn 3D version right there. So I do.
- 57:37Speaker 9: And actually, you didn't watch any of the 3D, did you?
- 57:40Speaker 7: No, I watched Odd Thomas there, but that was not
- 57:45Speaker 7: in 3D.
- 57:45Speaker 9: But yeah, it's... it seems like the market is they
- 57:48Speaker 9: don't have enough 3D movies on Blu-ray. They just don't.
- 57:51Speaker 9: And the ones they do are crazy expensive and it
- 57:53Speaker 9: just makes me mad.
- 57:55Speaker 7: And nobody knows how to work it exactly either. Everybody, like, shows,
- 58:02Speaker 7: having seen people in a video store, yes, the last
- 58:05Speaker 7: few remaining video stores on earth, they all show up
- 58:07Speaker 7: with a 3D movie and they're just like, hey, I
- 58:10Speaker 7: want to rent this. And we're like, you know, that's 3D, right?
- 58:13Speaker 7: And they never have a 3D player, so. Nobody knows
- 58:16Speaker 7: how to work the whole thing.
- 58:17Speaker 9: You gotta have the whole shebang. You can't just have
- 58:19Speaker 9: one or the other. You gotta have the damn 3D
- 58:21Speaker 9: Blu-ray player. You gotta have the damn 3D TV. You
- 58:24Speaker 9: gotta have a fucking special cable because you can't just
- 58:26Speaker 9: hook that shit up. You gotta have a high-def cable
- 58:28Speaker 9: or whatever.
- 58:29Speaker 7: It's a 3D cable.
- 58:30Speaker 9: No shit, dude. And then you gotta have the fucking... Actually,
- 58:33Speaker 9: our TV turns everything into 3D. It's fucking magic.
- 58:37Speaker 7: Sobobbers?
- 58:38Speaker 9: Yes, Sobobbers.
- 58:39Speaker 7: Infomercial Sobobbers?
- 58:40Speaker 8: Yes.
- 58:41Speaker 9: Wheel of Fortune. News. All that shit in 3D. I
- 58:44Speaker 9: don't even care.
- 58:44Speaker 1: Mexican infomercials?
- 58:45Speaker 9: Yes. C.
- 58:47Speaker 7: QVC.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Svengoolie?
- 58:49Speaker 10: No.
- 58:50Speaker 9: Fuck that shit.
- 58:53Speaker 7: Instead, you would like to endorse Dr.
- 58:57Speaker 5: Gangrene.
- 58:58Speaker 9: Yes, Dr. Gangrene is awesome.
- 59:00Speaker 7: Previous guest on the show, Dr.
- 59:01Speaker 5: Gangrene.
- 59:02Speaker 7: While we're having our horror host showdown here.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Yeah, man. It's going to be a rumble.
- 59:08Speaker 5: Dr.
- 59:08Speaker 9: Gang Green could take Sven Gulli any day.
- 59:10Speaker 7: I think he could. He's like 6'9 or something like that.
- 59:13Speaker 9: He is freakishly tall. Like really tall. Like ungodly tall.
- 59:22Speaker 5: All right.
- 59:22Speaker 7: Well, we've covered many things going on today. I guess
- 59:25Speaker 7: we'll wrap up.
- 59:26Speaker 9: Finish what we were supposed to. Where's that one guy's card?
- 59:29Speaker 7: Gotten to that yet, but we can do that.
- 59:31Speaker 9: We need to because that guy gave me something for
- 59:33Speaker 9: free and I have to be like, dude, that was awesome.
- 59:36Speaker 7: It's commercial time. Alright, well first and foremost we'd like
- 59:39Speaker 7: to say thank you to Days of the Dead for
- 59:41Speaker 7: having us out here and letting us hang around and
- 59:44Speaker 7: record here in the middle of all this craziness. So
- 59:46Speaker 7: thank you to them. They have put on a great
- 59:48Speaker 7: show and they have two more coming up this year
- 59:50Speaker 7: and one more at the beginning of 2015. So go
- 59:53Speaker 7: to daysofthedead.net and figure out where the next shows are
- 59:56Speaker 7: coming to a town near you. And now on with
- 59:59Speaker 7: our bonus thank you of the episode.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: Here comes the plug.
- 1:00:02Speaker 9: Dude gave me free shit. I have to promote it.
- 1:00:05Speaker 7: Even before today he gets a plug because if you'll
- 1:00:08Speaker 7: notice when you go to the old Movie Meltdown website,
- 1:00:10Speaker 7: which I'm sure you go to on a daily basis.
- 1:00:13Speaker 7: At the very top, you'll see that film reel that's
- 1:00:15Speaker 7: sort of melting there, designed by this guy right here,
- 1:00:19Speaker 7: this Steve character. He, many a year ago, within the first,
- 1:00:23Speaker 7: I don't know, handful of episodes, like I'd say eight
- 1:00:26Speaker 7: or so, like he just got a hold of me
- 1:00:29Speaker 7: and said, hey, I've been listening to the show. I
- 1:00:30Speaker 7: really like it. Oh, here, I designed this for you.
- 1:00:32Speaker 7: Because he also happens to be like a actual graphic designer. Oh,
- 1:00:36Speaker 7: how awesome is that? And or a poster maker or many, many,
- 1:00:38Speaker 7: he does many things. According to this card here, he's
- 1:00:40Speaker 7: an illustrator.
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: Oh, yeah. We're now looking at his fine artwork. This
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: is his Trick or Treat poster here.
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: Very cool.
- 1:00:50Speaker 7: This would be from Scream Prince. And you can find
- 1:00:53Speaker 7: them at ScreamPrince.com.
- 1:00:57Speaker 10: Do it.
- 1:00:58Speaker 7: This is my Return of the Living Dead option here.
- 1:01:02Speaker 7: Featuring Tar Man.
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:01:05Speaker 7: Available at ScreamPrince.com. Very cool.
- 1:01:10Speaker 14: Oh screamprince.com there we've man that's awesome as we told
- 1:01:15Speaker 14: him we would we would plug the hell out of
- 1:01:17Speaker 14: his whole business so go give him some money and
- 1:01:19Speaker 14: get yourself some awesome posters fucking.
- 1:01:22Speaker 12: A Steve Steve Jinx according to the card that I'm
- 1:01:30Speaker 12: looking to screamprince.com he has a ooh he's got an
- 1:01:33Speaker 12: email why would you put your email address on there
- 1:01:35Speaker 12: I wouldn't want these people emailing me I've seen these
- 1:01:37Speaker 12: people I know I'm one of these people I wouldn't
- 1:01:40Speaker 12: want me emailing people.
- 1:01:41Speaker 7: Now you're going to email them, aren't you?
- 1:01:43Speaker 9: No.
- 1:01:44Speaker 7: And send them creepy viruses and weird 3D porn.
- 1:01:48Speaker 9: I was going to say 3D porn, but you beat
- 1:01:50Speaker 9: me to it.
- 1:01:52Speaker 7: All right, so we got that plug in there. To
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: round it out with geek activities, have you seen any
- 1:01:57Speaker 7: movies lately?
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: I've watched a lot lately. I'm two months as of today,
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: two months into our new relationship.
- 1:02:05Speaker 7: We don't claim that other person.
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:07Speaker 7: We don't know who she is.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Yeah, well, yeah.
- 1:02:10Speaker 11: Um friend of possum's and uh midnight pizza runs um.
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: And the show for years longer than she probably.
- 1:02:17Speaker 11: Wants but no uh so we've been doing like a
- 1:02:22Speaker 11: little trade-off like i'll show her a movie and she'll
- 1:02:25Speaker 11: show me a movie so i've seen here recently i've
- 1:02:28Speaker 11: seen sabrina the 1954 I.
- 1:02:32Speaker 7: Think I've seen that one. I know I ended up
- 1:02:34Speaker 7: watching the remake years later, but I think I've seen
- 1:02:37Speaker 7: the original as well.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it was really sweet.
- 1:02:39Speaker 11: It's sort of my cup of tea, but I had
- 1:02:43Speaker 11: never gotten around to watching it, so.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: It was nice to watch with her.
- 1:02:46Speaker 7: It's a great cast.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's Turnabout.
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: I showed her.
- 1:02:51Speaker 11: It's from 2012, maybe. It's a French film called Romantics Anonymous,
- 1:02:57Speaker 11: and it's like, It's a really sweet, like if you
- 1:03:00Speaker 11: like the Amelie, that kind of thing. It's two people,
- 1:03:07Speaker 11: it's a chocolate company that's going out of business, and
- 1:03:09Speaker 11: this girl's needing a job, and she's a chocolatier. She
- 1:03:12Speaker 11: knows everything. She's one of the best ones on the
- 1:03:15Speaker 11: planet at how to make it, but she's very nervous.
- 1:03:19Speaker 11: And the guy that runs the chocolate shop is very shy.
- 1:03:22Speaker 11: And so between the two of them, you know, it's,
- 1:03:25Speaker 11: you know, they're trying to get together, but it's this whole.
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: When are you two kids just going to realize it's
- 1:03:29Speaker 7: right there in front of you?
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: So it's, I mean, it's a comedy of anxiety, but
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: it's fun. It was a lot of fun. So anyway.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: So there's two.
- 1:03:40Speaker 9: What the hell does dude do?
- 1:03:42Speaker 11: To go with a horror movie vibe, I saw The
- 1:03:46Speaker 11: Devil Rides Out last night, the old classic.
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: Nice.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Where Peter, not Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee actually plays a
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: good guy.
- 1:03:52Speaker 7: So he's the Count de Rousseff.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it's some French. Deux coups. Deux coups, yeah.
- 1:04:00Speaker 7: Something like that.
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 1:04:01Speaker 7: Something foreign like that.
- 1:04:02Speaker 11: But it's a Hammer film that's based on the writings
- 1:04:05Speaker 11: of Dennis Wheatley, like 20s and 30s, kind of a
- 1:04:08Speaker 11: pulpy horror kind of novelist. Probably best known for To
- 1:04:14Speaker 11: the Devil a Daughter, which the movie had.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: Natasha Kinski in it.
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: And, oh, it was.
- 1:04:21Speaker 11: Our guy who's been missing photos just showed up, and wow,
- 1:04:25Speaker 11: I think we're done.
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: We're good.
- 1:04:27Speaker 7: He was relieved and yet still kind of annoyed.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: Yeah. I would call it real annoyed.
- 1:04:34Speaker 7: And I guess he's that weird name we didn't recognize.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: Because he wasn't Cindy or whatever. Yeah, Magda. I can't
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: quite tell.
- 1:04:41Speaker 9: He didn't look like a Victorian to me.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: Adams?
- 1:04:47Speaker 8: Maybe.
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: Tell me what you want, what you really want.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Justin, have you seen anything lately?
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: I watched both Eddie and the Cruisers and Eddie and
- 1:04:53Speaker 6: the Cruisers 2, Eddie Lives.
- 1:04:55Speaker 7: Does he, in fact, live? Spoiler alert.
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: Spoilers. Give you a second to pause your iPod, iPhone,
- 1:05:03Speaker 6: or Android device. He does actually live.
- 1:05:08Speaker 9: I have a Windows phone.
- 1:05:10Speaker 6: Oh, a Windows phone.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Excuse me.
- 1:05:11Speaker 7: We have to have the third option now, just to
- 1:05:12Speaker 7: be PC.
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: Or your Amazon Fire or whatever.
- 1:05:17Speaker 7: I have a 10-gammon string.
- 1:05:18Speaker 13: Is that cool?
- 1:05:18Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:05:19Speaker 6: Cut the string, tie it in a knot, whatever it
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: is you do. He does actually live, and he goes
- 1:05:26Speaker 6: on to create some mediocre 80s.
- 1:05:29Speaker 7: Season in Hell 2?
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:31Speaker 7: Electric boogaloo?
- 1:05:32Speaker 6: It's Season in Hell, but not necessarily the way he
- 1:05:34Speaker 6: probably wants it. More like The Viewer is in Hell. So, yeah,
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: I finally knocked those off my bucket list.
- 1:05:39Speaker 7: Had you not seen them at all?
- 1:05:41Speaker 6: I had seen the first one.
- 1:05:42Speaker 7: Sorry to say, I've seen the first one. I kind
- 1:05:44Speaker 7: of remember the second one, but it's very muddy at
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: this point.
- 1:05:49Speaker 6: Michael Perret yells a lot at people.
- 1:05:53Speaker 7: That was back when he was a celebrity. I saw
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: him turn up in a lot of C-level movies as
- 1:05:59Speaker 7: the years went on. And they still sort of build
- 1:06:01Speaker 7: him like, look, we got a star. We got a star.
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:06:04Speaker 7: He ended up in some scary stuff.
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:06:07Speaker 6: Most recently, the Albert Poon movie... That's a sequel to,
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: what's that movie like?
- 1:06:17Speaker 7: City of Fire? Yeah, Streets of Fire.
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: Streets of Fire has a sequel.
- 1:06:21Speaker 7: Yeah, but directed by Albert Bean. Because I saw a
- 1:06:26Speaker 7: behind-the-scenes thing. I'm like, who is this crazy person trying
- 1:06:28Speaker 7: to do a sequel? Oh, look, there's Albert. I was
- 1:06:30Speaker 7: just like, what is he doing now?
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: I haven't seen it, but he puts a lot of
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: screen caps on Facebook.
- 1:06:36Speaker 7: I've seen, yeah, there was like a making of documentary. Well,
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: it was like a five minute thing of like behind
- 1:06:40Speaker 7: the scenes of them doing it with like a lot
- 1:06:42Speaker 7: of green screen and a lot of like, it was
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: just like, what is he doing now? Like it was crazy.
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:49Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: So, yeah.
- 1:06:52Speaker 6: So I knocked that, um, that one. Yeah. I would
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: stick with the first. If you haven't seen either of them,
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: I'd watch the first and listen to the, yeah. Listen
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: to the score or the soundtrack a few times. It
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: does have some catchy tunes.
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Man?
- 1:07:06Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: Yes. The sequel, not so much.
- 1:07:09Speaker 7: I haven't watched much. Last week was kind of crazy.
- 1:07:13Speaker 7: The last couple of weeks, I think the only thing
- 1:07:14Speaker 7: I actually made it through in its entirety was a
- 1:07:18Speaker 7: Doc of the Dead. It was just turned up on Netflix.
- 1:07:21Speaker 7: Has anyone else seen it?
- 1:07:24Speaker 8: No.
- 1:07:24Speaker 7: Actually, it's not bad. I just kind of like that
- 1:07:27Speaker 7: they actually did bring in a good amount because I
- 1:07:29Speaker 7: knew even had it listed up there that they brought
- 1:07:31Speaker 7: in freaking Scotty. What's his name? Sean Simon Pegg there
- 1:07:39Speaker 7: we go it listed up there he was like the
- 1:07:42Speaker 7: first name on there was they had Simon Pegg involved
- 1:07:45Speaker 7: I was like that's kind of cool like I've never
- 1:07:46Speaker 7: really seen him talk about zombies so they had him
- 1:07:49Speaker 7: but they brought in all the standers too they brought
- 1:07:51Speaker 7: in Romero they brought in like pretty much a lot
- 1:07:54Speaker 7: of different people along the way that have been involved
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: in all these different zombie movies and it takes a
- 1:08:00Speaker 7: lot for me to really be impressed with a documentary
- 1:08:03Speaker 7: like it really has to go kind of above and
- 1:08:05Speaker 7: beyond so it won't we're not going into your documentary
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: hate misty it won't i don't know i don't feel
- 1:08:12Speaker 7: like it does anything out of the ordinary but it
- 1:08:14Speaker 7: does a really good job it just kind of giving
- 1:08:17Speaker 7: you an overview of because it's not just zombies there's
- 1:08:19Speaker 7: been a few that popped up lately that are like
- 1:08:21Speaker 7: if zombies really existed it's like a 2020 version of
- 1:08:25Speaker 7: what about zombies but this one was like zombies in
- 1:08:28Speaker 7: film and it gives you a little backstory of like
- 1:08:31Speaker 7: the voodoo you know roots of it And then it
- 1:08:34Speaker 7: goes into kind of the animal world and like the
- 1:08:36Speaker 7: weird bug scenarios that are kind of similar. So it
- 1:08:39Speaker 7: gets a little of that into it, but for the
- 1:08:42Speaker 7: most part, it's mostly just zombies in film and it
- 1:08:44Speaker 7: kind of goes through the different phases and how it changed.
- 1:08:47Speaker 7: And it's actually pretty good. And I do like, you know,
- 1:08:50Speaker 7: most of the talking head stuff is, is kind of interesting.
- 1:08:53Speaker 7: So it's definitely worth watching if you're, if you're a
- 1:08:56Speaker 7: horror fan or a zombie geek or any of the above, it's,
- 1:09:00Speaker 7: and then to tie it in i tried to watch
- 1:09:02Speaker 7: world war z and i wouldn't just leave so there's
- 1:09:06Speaker 7: a lot of running around cg zombie action.
- 1:09:08Speaker 11: To do actually yeah it's not bad just not great.
- 1:09:13Speaker 7: It's got its moments. The outbreak at the beginning is
- 1:09:17Speaker 7: pretty cool. I think it does a good job of
- 1:09:19Speaker 7: how quickly everything would fall apart. That part's pretty awesome.
- 1:09:24Speaker 7: As it gets into it, it's got a lot of
- 1:09:25Speaker 7: weird questionable mostly just writing as it gets into it,
- 1:09:30Speaker 7: but they did a whole rewrite on the end anyway,
- 1:09:32Speaker 7: so I think that's part of the problem.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Too many fingers in the pie.
- 1:09:36Speaker 7: It's still a fun, watchable movie.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Sure, yeah.
- 1:09:41Speaker 7: Misty, have you watched anything you'd like to discuss?
- 1:09:43Speaker 9: In particular, I did re-watch Hellraiser and Nightbreed in preparation
- 1:09:47Speaker 9: for today.
- 1:09:48Speaker 7: Nice.
- 1:09:49Speaker 9: I've watched Nightbreed last night, Hellraiser the night before. I
- 1:09:53Speaker 9: might re-watch the second Hellraiser, maybe the third. I think
- 1:09:56Speaker 9: I'm going to draw the line after that.
- 1:09:58Speaker 7: Part of me.
- 1:09:59Speaker 9: Wants to go for the fifth. I think it's the
- 1:10:00Speaker 9: fifth one. Is the fifth one the one that has
- 1:10:03Speaker 9: this guy in it?
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:10:05Speaker 7: I don't know that it does. I know four is
- 1:10:07Speaker 7: the one in space.
- 1:10:09Speaker 9: I forget there being a Hellraiser in space.
- 1:10:13Speaker 7: Well, it goes back and forth. It's like Medieval Times
- 1:10:16Speaker 7: Hellraiser and Space Hellraiser all rolled up in the one.
- 1:10:20Speaker 7: Isn't it Diego or what's her name? No, that's Candyman.
- 1:10:24Speaker 7: I've lost track of which is the bad spinoff. Candyman's
- 1:10:28Speaker 7: in the bad spinoff. Hellraisers. So, yeah. Well, actually, Candyman,
- 1:10:33Speaker 7: just stick with the first one. And Hellraiser, I think
- 1:10:35Speaker 7: two is where you can cap it, but It's been
- 1:10:37Speaker 7: forever since I've seen three.
- 1:10:39Speaker 9: Part of me is curious to watch the one with
- 1:10:42Speaker 9: Craig Schaefer, whose name I probably... I keep wanting to
- 1:10:44Speaker 9: call him Greg, and I don't know why.
- 1:10:46Speaker 7: It's definitely Craig.
- 1:10:47Speaker 9: Or Schaefer. I know that's wrong, too.
- 1:10:49Speaker 7: I'm not 100% on the last name pronunciation, but he
- 1:10:51Speaker 7: is Craig. Craig. Star of That Was Then, This Is Now.
- 1:10:56Speaker 9: He seems so sleepy.
- 1:10:58Speaker 7: He kind of did, but he was there. He was present.
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: He wasn't phoning in. He signed her stuff. He took
- 1:11:04Speaker 7: a picture. He was nice.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:11:06Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:11:07Speaker 7: He's just not, you know, bouncing off the walls excited.
- 1:11:11Speaker 9: And I'm like, we watched Hellraiser. It's like, I fucking
- 1:11:14Speaker 9: love that movie. Because, I mean, it's so hard to pick.
- 1:11:16Speaker 9: I mean, it's kind of like a horror movie, but
- 1:11:18Speaker 9: it's also kind of like just like a sci-fi movie.
- 1:11:20Speaker 9: Because it's like, it's not really horror horror.
- 1:11:22Speaker 7: It's a weird, that's the thing. You say you hate them,
- 1:11:24Speaker 7: but when I went back and started thinking about it,
- 1:11:26Speaker 7: I was like, it's a weird indie movie. It was
- 1:11:29Speaker 7: completely outside the Hollywood system. It was British made. It
- 1:11:33Speaker 7: had a tiny budget compared to most movies. It was
- 1:11:36Speaker 7: kind of like that point when indie movies started crossing
- 1:11:39Speaker 7: over and finding an audience. They could be something weird
- 1:11:42Speaker 7: and different like stuff that Clive Barker was doing.
- 1:11:48Speaker 9: I don't know. Why is that girl who doesn't wear pants?
- 1:11:51Speaker 9: Why is that girl not wearing pants?
- 1:11:52Speaker 7: So we can see her ass?
- 1:11:54Speaker 9: You could. She's wearing a garter belt and that's it.
- 1:11:58Speaker 7: I mean, as that goes, I've seen many different people
- 1:12:00Speaker 7: at these shows that I've seen their ass that I
- 1:12:03Speaker 7: don't want to. She's hanging in there. She's doing all right.
- 1:12:06Speaker 9: Hanging in there while she's hanging out of there?
- 1:12:08Speaker 7: Hanging out and hanging in there. But I still would
- 1:12:11Speaker 7: normally recommend putting pants on. Pants are good. But if
- 1:12:14Speaker 7: somebody's going to bust it out for us, she's doing
- 1:12:17Speaker 7: all right.
- 1:12:17Speaker 9: Why are we all of a sudden like where all
- 1:12:18Speaker 9: the cool kids are hanging out? Because it's like all
- 1:12:20Speaker 9: of a sudden there's a lot of people here and
- 1:12:21Speaker 9: it's making me very uncomfortable.
- 1:12:22Speaker 7: We are pretty cool.
- 1:12:23Speaker 9: No, we're not.
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: Yeah, baby.
- 1:12:25Speaker 9: Yeah. But yeah, it's like.
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: I'm doing devil horns right now.
- 1:12:28Speaker 7: You guys can hear that at home, right?
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:31Speaker 9: But yeah, so I mean, that was my... I watched
- 1:12:34Speaker 9: some Clive Barker movies. I did get... What's a newer one?
- 1:12:39Speaker 9: The Book of Blood or something?
- 1:12:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:12:41Speaker 9: Has anybody seen that? Because I've got it.
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: No, I haven't.
- 1:12:43Speaker 9: Yeah, I've not heard of anybody who's actually seen this movie,
- 1:12:45Speaker 9: but I know that it exists. I'm kind of afraid
- 1:12:47Speaker 9: to watch it.
- 1:12:48Speaker 7: He's coming back. He started making them again.
- 1:12:51Speaker 9: It's a couple years old. It's not like new.
- 1:12:53Speaker 7: Just in general. It seemed like he stopped altogether after...
- 1:12:55Speaker 7: It's probably after Nightbreed, if I remember the story, of
- 1:12:58Speaker 7: all the turmoil he went through over that. And then
- 1:13:02Speaker 7: in the last 10 years or so, he started coming
- 1:13:04Speaker 7: back around to making movies.
- 1:13:05Speaker 9: What else has he made recently?
- 1:13:07Speaker 7: Wasn't he... You'll just complain about it, but wasn't he
- 1:13:09Speaker 7: Midnight Meat Train? I thought it was definitely based on
- 1:13:12Speaker 7: one of his. I don't know if he wants to
- 1:13:15Speaker 7: direct anymore, but I thought he at least was story by...
- 1:13:19Speaker 7: I don't remember.
- 1:13:19Speaker 9: I remember being aggravated and frustrated. Maybe I need to
- 1:13:21Speaker 9: watch that movie again.
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: I need to watch it again too. It's been a while. Alright,
- 1:13:26Speaker 7: we've covered our geek activities. We're about to wrap up here.
- 1:13:28Speaker 7: Is there any parting words you'd like to tell people?
- 1:13:31Speaker 7: Wear pants.
- 1:13:32Speaker 9: Wear pants in public.
- 1:13:33Speaker 7: Watch 3D porn.
- 1:13:35Speaker 9: Get loaded up on your 3D porn. Doug Bradley is awesome.
- 1:13:40Speaker 9: I would give him hugs. I wasn't afraid he would
- 1:13:42Speaker 9: kill me. I want to make Tara Reid a sandwich
- 1:13:46Speaker 9: and make sure she eats it.
- 1:13:47Speaker 7: Yeah, we were threatening to go park it right there
- 1:13:50Speaker 7: on the table and just be like, look, this is
- 1:13:51Speaker 7: for you. Make use of it.
- 1:13:54Speaker 9: Why do these people keep staring at us?
- 1:13:55Speaker 7: Because we're superstars. Yeah, we've got a table and microphones.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: We're important.
- 1:14:01Speaker 7: I would also pass along to go to screenprints.com and
- 1:14:05Speaker 7: go see Steve.
- 1:14:06Speaker 9: Because he has awesome things.
- 1:14:07Speaker 7: He's not even paying us for this. We just like him. So,
- 1:14:09Speaker 7: you know, we're giving him free plugs. He's cool. Any
- 1:14:12Speaker 7: parting words from you guys?
- 1:14:14Speaker 11: In my head the whole day, I've been randomly trying
- 1:14:18Speaker 11: to figure out if there are more curly mustaches present
- 1:14:22Speaker 11: or mohawks.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: And I'm thinking the mohawks are leading the way as
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: a guy.
- 1:14:26Speaker 9: There's an Elvis.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Is there?
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:14:30Speaker 11: And Elvis just walked by. And that's like cool Elvis, too.
- 1:14:33Speaker 11: That's like full on. We should have grabbed him. I
- 1:14:36Speaker 11: could have talked to him.
- 1:14:37Speaker 9: Chase him down.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: Hey, brother.
- 1:14:38Speaker 9: I got a picture with him before.
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 1:14:39Speaker 9: A long time ago.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: As an Elvis nut. Yeah, that's really a cool outfit.
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: So.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway. Justin, did you have anything you wanted to say?
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: No, I'm good.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: Alright, he's good.
- 1:14:50Speaker 6: I got to hear Corey Feldman talk today, so it's good.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: So yeah, it's a win all the way around.
- 1:14:56Speaker 7: Can you do your impression of what Corey Feldman sounded like?
- 1:14:59Speaker 6: An impression of... I don't know if I can even...
- 1:15:06Speaker 6: I'm not enough of an angel to even capture that
- 1:15:08Speaker 6: essence of what he was. Lots of hands gestures and
- 1:15:12Speaker 6: lots of I'm just joking.
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: Comments.
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: Just joking.
- 1:15:16Speaker 6: Said that a lot, yeah.
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: I hate you all. I'm just joking.
- 1:15:21Speaker 6: He loved everybody. He said he loved everybody. He thanked
- 1:15:23Speaker 6: the fans.
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: That's good.
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:15:25Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:15:28Speaker 7: Hand gestures. That usually comes with all that crack, you know. Anyway.
- 1:15:32Speaker 9: At least he didn't have the e-cigarette and the weird
- 1:15:34Speaker 9: anime bang.
- 1:15:35Speaker 7: Yeah, his weird anime bang creeped us out last time
- 1:15:37Speaker 7: we saw him. Did you touch it? He says he
- 1:15:43Speaker 7: paid for a photo with that anime bang, and he's thrilled.
- 1:15:47Speaker 11: I do think I know my new favorite stripper name, though.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Anime Bang.
- 1:15:55Speaker 7: That's more of a porn name. Stripper Bang, I don't know.
- 1:15:59Speaker 7: You gotta have a different sort of swing to the
- 1:16:02Speaker 7: stripper name.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Swing?
- 1:16:06Speaker 7: Anime Swing, now that's a stripper name.
- 1:16:09Speaker 9: Anime Sparkles.
- 1:16:10Speaker 7: Anime Sparkles. I suppose so.
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: That's like a classic one.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:17Speaker 7: Someone you'd see in your 3D porn, Meg.
- 1:16:19Speaker 9: Hell yeah.
- 1:16:23Speaker 7: I think we better get out of here. The crowds
- 1:16:25Speaker 7: are starting to pile up around us. We're superstars here
- 1:16:28Speaker 7: at our table. I think we better pack it in
- 1:16:31Speaker 7: before the crowd gets out of control.
- 1:16:34Speaker 9: I need to go eat.
- 1:16:35Speaker 7: That too. Otherwise, that about does it. We will return
