Transcript
- 0:16>> Skylar: M last time on hunter's haven. Trick
- 0:18or treat, fight or flee.
- 0:21>> Cameron: Is it the extra tales whispered
- 0:24among children and adults about a local legend of a haunted
- 0:26house? Is it the local troublemaker,
- 0:29Miss Douglas, that tells everyone that trick or
- 0:32treating is getting more dangerous? There are four houses, and then at the end
- 0:35of the street, you're going to see
- 0:38a weathered looking house.
- 0:41>> Cameron: I'm going to walk up to this place and knock on the
- 0:43door.
- 0:46>> Cameron: Tricker three, he's going to hold out
- 0:48the bucket. There's a limited amount of candy
- 0:51in there. And then at the bottom of it, you're going to see
- 0:54what looks like an old fishing net.
- 0:57Oh, score.
- 0:58>> Cameron: Where are those originals?
- 1:00>> Mikayla: I'm 100% taking it.
- 1:02>> Skylar: I push open the fence, and I stride
- 1:04confidently up.
- 1:05>> Skylar: do they by chance have a bucket of
- 1:08candy sitting out?
- 1:09>> Cameron: They actually do. Have you ever seen those clear plastic
- 1:12travel bags? Actually just a
- 1:14collection of self care
- 1:17things. In each one, there's a little plastic toothbrush, travel
- 1:19toothpaste, little pack of sunscreen. And
- 1:23you have a disposable camera.
- 1:25>> Cameron: Ella would be for sure the only reason she would go up to a house
- 1:27by herself is that she was forgotten by the rest of the group.
- 1:32Trick or treat.
- 1:33>> Cameron: He just hands you the half box of
- 1:36popsicles you hear from the window, go away.
- 1:39>> Skylar: And I knock on the door, and.
- 1:40>> Skylar: Then I hide on the side.
- 1:42>> Cameron: So the guy's just immediately
- 1:44weirded out. Todd, just call the police.
- 1:46>> Cameron: Todd.
- 1:46>> Cameron: I don't know what's going on.
- 1:48>> Skylar: Oh, crap. The fan. We gotta get out of here. He's calling the police.
- 1:50>> Cameron: It starts to get chilly, starts to get windier.
- 1:54And a gust of wind howls through the branches of the
- 1:57trees, carrying with it a faint sound of what
- 2:00appears to be frying.
- 2:03Just draws your attention to the last house in this cul de sac.
- 2:06You catch sight of a weathered, obviously old
- 2:09for sale sign swaying at the front of it. And this
- 2:12house linked to many urban
- 2:14legends, going as far back as
- 2:17to the infamous anti Halloween
- 2:20crusader that has been telling everyone to get rid of it.
- 2:22>> Skylar: We gotta hide.
- 2:23>> Skylar: I'm gonna just straight up because I'm confident that,
- 2:26you know, there's no person's gonna be
- 2:29here. I'm just gonna grab the knob.
- 2:40>> Cameron: So I'm gonna have you roll.
- 2:43let's just roll.
- 2:45>> Cameron: Roll. Cool.
- 2:45>> Cameron: We're gonna show off. Hey, let's see how you do
- 2:48moderately.
- 2:49>> Skylar: Good at cool
- 2:52seven.
- 2:53>> Cameron: so seven. Is that seven with your modifier? Yes. Yeah. Okay.
- 2:56So it doesn't happen as dramatically as you
- 2:59want. It. Sure, yeah. You know, there's, We're not. We're not
- 3:02holding one, but you're not getting your full intent. It's
- 3:05the door opens, but it's almost like you grab, you
- 3:08open the door and you're gonna drag through this dramatic thing and it just kind
- 3:10of flops over. Door just kind of falls.
- 3:13>> Cameron: Falls in.
- 3:14>> Skylar: I like to think that it scares him a little bit.
- 3:17It spooks it, just like he wasn't expecting it to, like, just fall
- 3:20open.
- 3:22>> Skylar: all right. That was easier than I thought.
- 3:25See, the problem is when they're locked, that's where
- 3:28it gets annoying.
- 3:28>> Cameron: Are these themed Halloween houses typically
- 3:31locked?
- 3:33>> Skylar: they shouldn't be, but, you know, everyone's.
- 3:34>> Cameron: Do they typically do that? That's pretty cool.
- 3:37>> Skylar: Oh, that was clever. Yeah, that was a little bit different.
- 3:40>> Cameron: Was that animatronics or.
- 3:41>> Skylar: I'm not sure. Let's go in and see.
- 3:43>> Cameron: Okay, so if you want to investigate the
- 3:46door, you're welcome to investigate. Oh, I'm, sure.
- 3:48>> Cameron: Why not? Let's do a.
- 3:49>> Cameron: So you're gonna roll plus sharp, and you're gonna investigate a mystery.
- 3:52>> Cameron: Seven.
- 3:52>> Cameron: So a seven. really get it rolled. And just to
- 3:55be clear on traditional monster of the week, you would be probably dig into this
- 3:58and you'd get to pick certain things. I'm kind of, for the interest of time, just gonna
- 4:01tell you. Yeah.
- 4:02>> Cameron: Ah, I just asked.
- 4:03>> Cameron: Yeah, it's a door.
- 4:03>> Cameron: Normal door.
- 4:04>> Cameron: Okay. Yeah, there's. You could. If you had done
- 4:07a little better, you probably could have noticed some other
- 4:10stuff, like some more details about, you know, the door
- 4:12itself. Yeah, but, like, it's a door. It fell open.
- 4:15Like, you know, can I look it.
- 4:18>> Cameron: Into why it fell open so
- 4:21specifically?
- 4:22>> Cameron: Then you're trying to do what kind.
- 4:24>> Cameron: Of investigate the cause of the
- 4:27door falling open? Because that seems like something.
- 4:30>> Cameron: So you're trying to read a bad situation if you look at questions.
- 4:33So you're trying to be like, wait a second, this seems sketchy.
- 4:36>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 4:36>> Cameron: Why is it so sketchy?
- 4:37>> Cameron: Oh, that nervous Nelly.
- 4:39>> Cameron: The nervous Nelly who's a skeptic of
- 4:42ghosts.
- 4:43>> Cameron: Yep. Okay, let's do it. Woo.
- 4:47>> Cameron: that's a five.
- 4:48>> Cameron: That's a five xp in a one
- 4:50shot. Then this is.
- 4:54You've failed. Like, this is definitely a, You're
- 4:57gonna. It's a door. Not only is
- 5:00it a door, but, like, getting close to it. You
- 5:03actually, like, get some dust. Like it, like, poof.
- 5:05Some dust on you, and you actually get dust in your eyes. Like, definitely,
- 5:08if you have some asthma. You're uncomfortable right now.
- 5:11>> Cameron: Oh, Ella. Warren
- 5:14Warner brother. Next time.
- 5:17>> Cameron: So are there any other door adjacent, you
- 5:20know, investigations we want to do?
- 5:22>> Skylar: Oh, no, I'm just walking in.
- 5:24>> Cameron: I'm following, like, wow, they really
- 5:26outdid themselves on this place. Look at these authentic
- 5:29coblips.
- 5:30>> Cameron: so you're now inside of it. And the two of
- 5:33you that have not yet rolled, right?
- 5:36Because both of you guys, it was a failure and kind of a mixed
- 5:38success. Just you two, I would like you to
- 5:41investigate a mystery that's gonna be rolling plus sharp. Unless you have
- 5:44another character specific. like, I'm good at
- 5:47sharp, so.
- 5:48>> Skylar: I'm all for it.
- 5:48>> Cameron: So if there's a specific movie you wanna do instead, you can do that as
- 5:51well. That'd be a plus
- 5:54sharp. I got
- 5:571111, and you've got
- 6:00a seven. Seven. So you,
- 6:03We'll do this one first, and then we'll come to you. Cause you're gonna really be
- 6:06the. So you walk into this house
- 6:08and you are going to
- 6:11see, just a dilapidated
- 6:14old. What would probably be considered now a living
- 6:16room, a parlor, a sitting room, something like that. Right. It
- 6:19just. It's dusty. And
- 6:22what you see with your
- 6:25mixed success, is going to be,
- 6:28You see
- 6:30some, You see some footprints through
- 6:33the dust. And these are normal footprints. I'm going to
- 6:36emphasize this more. You see some normal footprints
- 6:39going from a door,
- 6:42further going up the stairs. So it's coming from a
- 6:45room that's further into the house than you are walking around and
- 6:48up a staircase.
- 6:49>> Skylar: Got it.
- 6:49>> Cameron: And these are. These are steps in the dust.
- 6:52>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 6:52>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 6:53>> Cameron: So you can track that. So I want you to remember that. And you can
- 6:56decide what to do with that here in a second. That's one kind
- 6:59of a piece of success. Perfect. You can't tell anything else from them
- 7:02other than human feet through the dust. So,
- 7:04Maya, you see a book.
- 7:08Now, you. I'm assuming you kind of walked in a little bit in your
- 7:11investigations. And you kind of split up a little bit.
- 7:14Maya, in this book, it's almost. It looks like almost like a
- 7:17scrapbook. So in this scrapbook, as you go through
- 7:19it, as I'm assuming you're doing. Because, again, this is kind of your
- 7:22thing, right? You've leaned into your finding of
- 7:25things. You're gonna find, like clippings from
- 7:28the newspaper of scary things that have been
- 7:31happening in the community. And, all of them
- 7:34are centered around this house, the McGovern house.
- 7:37And inside of that, you find some
- 7:40information, you know, about who Mister McGovern was.
- 7:43McGovern house. You find
- 7:46that he owned the house. He was a
- 7:49famous, I guess, philanthropist in the community.
- 7:52Well, known for loving the holidays and loving, you know, doing
- 7:55nice things for the children around the community. until,
- 7:58as in the last article, the very first article says, you know,
- 8:01he dies in relatively.
- 8:03It's, you know, they, you know, newspapers, old time newspapers,
- 8:06they don't tell you what happened. They just. In,
- 8:09tragic circumstances. And then from there,
- 8:12you start to see these vaguely
- 8:14ominous things happening, always centered around this house.
- 8:17So you could probably infer that
- 8:20whatever this is, whatever's haunting this
- 8:23house is related to old Mister McGovern
- 8:26from, you know, call it 50 years ago.
- 8:28>> Cameron: Like before your parents would have been born. That's your
- 8:31reference point? Like before your parents.
- 8:34>> Skylar: Okay, guys.
- 8:36>> Cameron: And you tell everybody about this and show
- 8:39them.
- 8:39>> Mikayla: yeah, and I'm gonna keep it in my candy bag.
- 8:42>> Skylar: Nice. Guys, do you see those footprints over
- 8:45there? Oh, they're in the dust. That means they had to
- 8:48have been recent.
- 8:49>> Cameron: Yeah. Whoa. I mean, if this is a haunted house
- 8:52that all kids on Halloween go through, it's probably just previous
- 8:56attendance.
- 8:57>> Skylar: Do I notice how big these feet are? Like,
- 9:00based on the shoe size, but.
- 9:01>> Cameron: Not with what you roll?
- 9:05>> Skylar: well, if anything, I compare my shoe
- 9:07size to this shoe.
- 9:09>> Cameron: You actually muss it up bad enough you can't tell anymore.
- 9:11>> Skylar: Dang it.
- 9:13>> Cameron: But you, by you putting your foot in it, you've actually
- 9:16messed it up. Like you actually scuffed more dust into it. So how would you. How
- 9:19would you know the difference?
- 9:19>> Skylar: Dang it. Oh, gosh. sorry. sorry.
- 9:21>> Skylar: Anyway, they were going up the stairs. Oh, from that
- 9:24room right there.
- 9:25>> Cameron: That must be the next location we go. Maybe that's where
- 9:28the,
- 9:28>> Cameron: So, well, that's the question, though.
- 9:30>> Cameron: Candy might be.
- 9:30>> Cameron: Do you go to the room where the. Where the feet came from, or do you go
- 9:33up the stairs?
- 9:34>> Skylar: I think we should go to the room the feet came
- 9:37from. Cause maybe it's like the pantry. Maybe the candy's in there.
- 9:40That's assuming there's candy in there. I mean, we're just hiding from the cops. That's
- 9:43the important thing.
- 9:44>> Cameron: What? I thought we came into here because of the Halloween
- 9:47tweet.
- 9:48>> Skylar: What? No, the guy was threatening to call the
- 9:51cops on us.
- 9:52>> Cameron: But, you said that these houses aren't the end of every cul
- 9:55de sac and that it's a Halloween
- 9:58tradition.
- 10:00>> Skylar: I mean, yeah, it is, but I'm just saying, like, we
- 10:02didn't have to come in here. We came in here because he was gonna call the cops.
- 10:05>> Cameron: Wait, but you didn't want to come in here?
- 10:08>> Skylar: Well, I didn't say I didn't want to come in here. I figured we'd end up
- 10:10in here at some point. Yeah, because the second I saw this house,
- 10:13I said we should go in there. Yeah,
- 10:16but I was gonna save it until after we had candy,
- 10:19and then you guys, you know, had your.
- 10:21>> Cameron: As the grand finale for me and Ella's first Halloween.
- 10:24>> Skylar: Exactly.
- 10:26>> Cameron: As you're talking about this and arguing, a
- 10:29sharp breeze blows in through and
- 10:32opens the door to whatever this room is further into the
- 10:35house and slams a shinier. It's kind
- 10:37of that wind effect of slams, slam.
- 10:40>> Cameron: Once again, these modern day animatronics, doing
- 10:43wonders.
- 10:44>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 10:44>> Mikayla: Where the footprints came from.
- 10:46>> Cameron: Yes. From where the footprint, because the footprints are coming from inside the house,
- 10:49and then they go up the stairs.
- 10:50>> Skylar: I like to think that there's, like, a slight fear growing
- 10:53inside of James.
- 10:54>> Cameron: I am not scared.
- 10:56>> Skylar: What's right, and that's the beauty of it, is that you've
- 10:58reassured yourself that this is just all, like, a bit
- 11:01reassured.
- 11:02>> Cameron: You never even considered that this place. He's like,
- 11:05oh, the stuff he's heard about this place
- 11:08was just the Halloween lore.
- 11:09>> Skylar: Right, right.
- 11:10>> Cameron: Comes with this. For every Halloween, the child raised on.
- 11:12>> Cameron: Predestination believes that he's fine.
- 11:15>> Cameron: So it's like he's heard of haunted houses, right?
- 11:18Yeah. And he's heard a haunted houses are, like, fake
- 11:20things that people go to. To.
- 11:22>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 11:22>> Cameron: Scared. And so when you said it's a typical
- 11:25thing on ends of cul de stocks, he's like, oh, so it's just your
- 11:28typical haunted house. That's pretty cool. I'm gonna go
- 11:31check this place out. So, zero. He is not
- 11:34even scared at all.
- 11:35>> Cameron: He's like, hey, guys, how about we go down there? I mean,
- 11:38it looks like it's just the pathway that. The
- 11:41route we're supposed to take to explore this, haunted
- 11:44house.
- 11:44>> Skylar: Okay.
- 11:45>> Skylar: And he lets you lead the way.
- 11:47>> Cameron: Oh. Because he.
- 11:48>> Skylar: James is just seeing way too many similarities to the horror
- 11:51movies he's watched. And now he's starting to get kind of what?
- 11:54>> Cameron: I'm more than finding the lead away because I
- 11:57have a light.
- 11:58>> Cameron: And he clicks a button, and
- 12:01his. His lightsaber starts
- 12:04glowing in front of him, and he starts waving
- 12:07it in front of.
- 12:08>> Cameron: Actually called a lightsaber.
- 12:09>> Cameron: No, it's called the.
- 12:10>> Cameron: He says, I have my sword in the spirit.
- 12:13>> Cameron: And he clicks the button and lights up. and he holds up
- 12:16his shield as well in front of him. And he's,
- 12:19like, standing and leading the way very
- 12:21dramatically.
- 12:22>> Cameron: And he's like, right this way, my compatriots.
- 12:25>> Skylar: Yeah, James definitely falls in behind him.
- 12:28>> Cameron: Ella.
- 12:28>> Skylar: Maybe even a little close, like, just cause he's starting to get kinda nervous.
- 12:31>> Cameron: And right before he goes into the room, he turns around and he goes.
- 12:34>> Cameron: Ella, stay close to me. I can't afford to lose you. Like
- 12:37last time. That zoo trip did not end well for me
- 12:40because you kept wandering off.
- 12:42>> Cameron: I didn't wander off. You just forgot me.
- 12:45I went to the bathroom, and then everyone was gone.
- 12:48>> Cameron: That's what you keep saying, but we.
- 12:49>> Cameron: All know you wandered off.
- 12:51>> Cameron: Anyways. Stay close to me. Follow my light.
- 12:53>> Cameron: And he just
- 12:56leads the way into the room with his sword and shield
- 12:59in front of him.
- 13:00>> Skylar: All the while, James is humming to himself,
- 13:03and occasionally you'll hear some lyrics.
- 13:06>> Cameron: I'm not.
- 13:07>> Cameron: Okay.
- 13:12>> Cameron: So you're actually getting real scared.
- 13:13>> Skylar: Yeah, he's getting pretty creeped out.
- 13:14>> Cameron: How does Ella and Maya, feel about all this?
- 13:17>> Cameron: well, Ella's just like, you know, the
- 13:19door. Door probably opened, a window probably
- 13:22cracked. I mean, it's just
- 13:25the dust that's kicking up is honestly the biggest of her
- 13:28concerns.
- 13:29>> Cameron: She's got allergies.
- 13:31>> Cameron: M so as you walk into this
- 13:33door, something weird's gonna
- 13:36happen. So as
- 13:39you cross over the threshold, because you're leading the way with your,
- 13:42you know, sort of, sort of God.
- 13:44>> Cameron: Sort of the spirit, sort of the spirit and the shield of
- 13:46faith.
- 13:48>> Cameron: Something flies at you out of the, out of the. And
- 13:51you hear that shrieking noise you heard, but it's
- 13:54a lot louder this time.
- 13:55>> Skylar: Oh, gosh.
- 13:56>> Cameron: And you see this just glowing, ghostly things flying
- 13:59at you.
- 13:59>> Cameron: Two ones.
- 14:00>> Cameron: Oh, no. I didn't even,
- 14:03I don't even know.
- 14:04>> Cameron: What I'm rolling, but I failed.
- 14:06>> Cameron: So I was actually gonna give you one of your, I was
- 14:09gonna ask you to roll. Cast out evil, because, you know, you have
- 14:11your sort of, sort of the spirit. so
- 14:14I was gonna allow you to potentially, you know, banish
- 14:17this unnatural creature from your presence. You know, by swinging
- 14:20a plastic lightsaber at it. You
- 14:23whiff, you have rolled the worst possible role.
- 14:25>> Cameron: Be gone, Falvista.
- 14:28>> Cameron: You made me start to yell that.
- 14:32It hits you. It hits you square in the face,
- 14:34and you're doing one of those.
- 14:39>> Cameron: I feel like it hits me in the face of my helmet, pops off.
- 14:42>> Cameron: And I go, oh, no, my helmet.
- 14:43>> Cameron: Salvation I start just chasing it further.
- 14:46>> Cameron: Into this room a little bit because it
- 14:49comes from the side and it hits you almost like, you
- 14:52know, and then it grabs you and it drags you a
- 14:55little bit. You actually get caught.
- 14:56>> Cameron: Oh, no.
- 14:57>> Cameron: And then shoot. So you're gonna take some harm.
- 15:00Oh, you're gonna take, jeez, one harm
- 15:03to gain an experience, but
- 15:06you gain a point of experience if this was a longer campaign. So it's
- 15:09gonna drag you a solid 3ft. You're gonna have some rash,
- 15:12you know, road rash on.
- 15:13>> Cameron: Oh, my.
- 15:13>> Cameron: Also, I get dragged on the ground.
- 15:15>> Cameron: Yeah, like you're getting dragged.
- 15:19>> Cameron: Like a trail of tracks.
- 15:22Bible tracks being lefty.
- 15:25>> Cameron: Bible tracks flying everywhere. So just to paint the
- 15:28picture, you know, the picture of our minds,
- 15:31you walk in, everyone's behind
- 15:33you. You turn the doorway, start to say bagai.
- 15:36And then you get smoked by a screaming
- 15:40ghost looking thing that then just.
- 15:42>> Cameron: Takes you with you.
- 15:43>> Cameron: And there's tracks flying.
- 15:44>> Cameron: There's tracks everywhere. Your lightsabers
- 15:47somewhere. You're clattered to a corner.
- 15:50It's still glowing somewhere. So all you. You don't really see what
- 15:53happens. None of you do because you. You see a
- 15:56slightly glowing something, grab
- 15:58him, hit him, drag him
- 16:016ft. You hear thunk, thong, thunk.
- 16:03And then it spins away. You are
- 16:06left, sitting there with your epic failure.
- 16:09What. What happens next?
- 16:11>> Cameron: Talk about immersive.
- 16:15>> Cameron: You have a bloody elbow. What was that? What? What
- 16:18was that?
- 16:18>> Skylar: What was that?
- 16:19>> Cameron: Had to be some sort of animatronic ghost or something.
- 16:22I think I got in the path of its, Ah, it's, animatronic ah
- 16:25line that. That was on me. Had to do this thing.
- 16:28>> Cameron: I gotta ask as the keeper. just. That's the term for the
- 16:31leader of this is keeper. Do you think this is
- 16:34real or do you just think this is all,
- 16:35>> Cameron: I don't.
- 16:36>> Cameron: Alex does not believe in ghosts.
- 16:38>> Cameron: Okay?
- 16:39>> Cameron: So he is chalking everything up to
- 16:42just animatronics. So he thinks he just got in the
- 16:45way of an animatronic that moves through this room.
- 16:48>> Cameron: Okay, so the true believer believes it's
- 16:50fake. The skeptic.
- 16:53Absolutely.
- 16:54>> Skylar: I'm not the skeptic.
- 16:55>> Cameron: You're the skeptic.
- 16:56>> Cameron: So I would have probably think the same way.
- 16:59I. I think it's. There's got to be some sort of explanation.
- 17:02It's got to be like an animatronic or it's got to be.
- 17:04>> Cameron: He just fell or for 6ft,
- 17:08I.
- 17:08>> Cameron: Am a bit of a clutch.
- 17:10>> Skylar: Best I'm the desensitized. But I'm
- 17:13also, like, the most knowledgeable, and therefore, I
- 17:16would assume the most influenced by something like
- 17:19this. I've seen so much stuff
- 17:22that. Yeah, like, in my mind. And also the
- 17:25goth thing, I think, registers as, this stuff is
- 17:27legit. I just have to find a way to tap
- 17:30in. And now I'm tapping into it, but it's against
- 17:33my control, and I'm freaking out.
- 17:35>> Skylar: Okay.
- 17:36>> Cameron: How are you feeling about it?
- 17:37>> Mikayla: I'm very curious. So,
- 17:40I read a lot of, like, the r l stine
- 17:43books. I don't know if anybody knows what that is, but
- 17:45goosebumps, basically. Yeah. but they have a lot
- 17:48of murder mystery, whatever, teenage
- 17:50stuff. and so I am just
- 17:53very curious about the whole situation.
- 17:55>> Skylar: Because you're Nancy drewing this, basically.
- 17:58>> Mikayla: Basically.
- 17:59>> Cameron: So you're coming alive. This is the best of you.
- 18:01>> Cameron: Yes.
- 18:01>> Mikayla: This is like, I'm getting excited. I'm kind of curious.
- 18:04Like, obviously, there's a part of me that's a little bit fearful
- 18:07because you're.
- 18:09>> Cameron: In a haunted house.
- 18:09>> Mikayla: I don't know.
- 18:10>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 18:10>> Mikayla: And I don't know exactly what's going on, but, like, that's part
- 18:13of the thrill, is to figure out what is
- 18:16going on.
- 18:18>> Mikayla: Is it a monster? Is it fake? Is it like, what
- 18:21is it?
- 18:22>> Cameron: That's funny how the one who is most interested in exploring this
- 18:25place is immediately like, I want to. Everyone else is like,
- 18:28this place is cool. Let's go.
- 18:30>> Cameron: I want to find out more. Is there anything more childhood than being
- 18:32confronted by the things you want most?
- 18:34>> Skylar: Exactly. And then being unable to handle it.
- 18:38>> Mikayla: He came unprepared.
- 18:41>> Cameron: I just gather my things. Does anyone see my,
- 18:44helmet of salvation?
- 18:48>> Skylar: Where's your sword of the spirit?
- 18:50>> Cameron: It's over there in the corner, glowing.
- 18:51>> Skylar: I run over there and grab it, and I'm just, like, holding it in front
- 18:54of me.
- 18:55>> Cameron: Excuse me, sir, but that's part of my accost.
- 18:58>> Skylar: Just stay close.
- 19:00>> Cameron: I was planning on it. I typically thought you
- 19:02go through haunted houses as a group.
- 19:05>> Skylar: Yeah, yeah, I think that's a good idea.
- 19:07>> Cameron: So, James, with being quote
- 19:10unquote the expert, what are
- 19:13your moves that are march for you?
- 19:15>> Skylar: I have. So I have two things. First of all, there's the moves, and then there's my
- 19:18haven. And my haven kind of offers me some things, but I'll go through the
- 19:20moves. So my moves are often right. So
- 19:23when a hunter comes to me for advice, about a problem, I can
- 19:26give them my honest opinion, and then they get a plus one
- 19:29ongoing if they follow that advice.
- 19:32I have precise strike. So
- 19:35when I inflict harm on a monster, I can aim for a weak
- 19:38point. Because, you know, I've watched a lot of horror movies, so I know that zombies got
- 19:41to get shot in the head. I roll tough. And then
- 19:44there, like. So basically, I would do more damage,
- 19:47potentially, to the monster.
- 19:48>> Cameron: Let's m add ah, that to dark past because I think I. Narratively
- 19:51your character is all about the things that he. That he
- 19:54understands, right? That he's seen and, like, his whole worldview.
- 19:57Is that right?
- 19:58>> Skylar: Right.
- 19:58>> Cameron: So I want you to roll plus weird.
- 20:01>> Skylar: Okay.
- 20:01>> Cameron: And I want you on a ten. Plus. You get to ask me two questions
- 20:04from the list below. And we'll go over that in a second. Seven to nine, you
- 20:07add one on a miss. You can ask it anyways, but that means
- 20:10you're complicit. It's your fault that you're
- 20:12there. You're now dealing with. So as you're kind
- 20:15of going around and doing this, I want you to.
- 20:19Yeah, roll and tell me what you got.
- 20:20>> Skylar: I actually just rolled a ten.
- 20:21>> Cameron: Pretty even.
- 20:23>> Skylar: so I guess my first question, probably would
- 20:25immediately be, what black magic. Do I know that could
- 20:28help here?
- 20:31>> Cameron: So you have watched
- 20:33a bunch of these movies. Yes, now and again.
- 20:37This is not narratively like the answer because we're
- 20:40not trying to do a monster mystery. We're just trying to do
- 20:43this. Kids getting scared. So your only frame of reference
- 20:46is, probably
- 20:49your generic, like, like horror movie.
- 20:52Like generic, like slasher movie. Like kids break into a
- 20:55house.
- 20:56>> Skylar: Yep.
- 20:56>> Cameron: so the number one thing, and you
- 20:59asked. Can you ask that question again? Yeah.
- 21:01>> Skylar: So what black magic do I know that might help
- 21:04here?
- 21:04>> Cameron: What you know is that you're immediately supposed to split up.
- 21:08>> Skylar: Oh, yeah, that's kind of the rule.
- 21:09>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 21:09>> Skylar: The rule that I'm the guy that doesn't get killed?
- 21:12>> Cameron: Yes.
- 21:13>> Skylar: The one that's left.
- 21:14>> Cameron: Exactly. So. And then you still have one other
- 21:17one.
- 21:17>> Skylar: Yeah. what? Who do I know that could help
- 21:20us right now?
- 21:22>> Cameron: well, you know that in most of these movies, they're
- 21:25too late, but usually the police break in.
- 21:27>> Cameron: Oh, yeah.
- 21:27>> Cameron: Save somebody, guys.
- 21:30>> Skylar: I mean, if we think about it, the police are technically
- 21:33on their way.
- 21:34>> Skylar: In the meantime, we gotta stay alive.
- 21:38>> Cameron: Can we gotta stay alive or I.
- 21:40>> Cameron: Have to stay alive?
- 21:41>> Cameron: No, no.
- 21:41>> Skylar: I say we have to stay alive. And I say, sorry, and
- 21:44I run off.
- 21:46>> Cameron: Can I grab him?
- 21:47>> Mikayla: Idiot. I mean, idiot. The
- 21:50first rule is to never split.
- 21:53>> Cameron: Just to be clear, he still has the light source.
- 21:56>> Skylar: No, no.
- 21:57>> Cameron: Did you take my light source? did you ever give it back?
- 22:00You went and got it.
- 22:01>> Skylar: I didn't. You said give it back and I just said
- 22:04let's stay close.
- 22:05>> Cameron: That's true.
- 22:05>> Cameron: So like, if he has to
- 22:08run.
- 22:09>> Cameron: Off, can I try and grab him? Because I was seeing, he was starting to freak
- 22:11out and it narratively works with one of my
- 22:14abilities.
- 22:15>> Cameron: Well, okay, well, first I need to catch him.
- 22:18>> Cameron: So do you want me to roll? Catch him?
- 22:20>> Cameron: so what is he, first off, what's he.
- 22:21>> Cameron: My ability is called soothe, which is ability that lets me
- 22:24calm someone if they look like they're starting to freak out.
- 22:26>> Cameron: So I'm gonna let's.
- 22:27>> Cameron: What's happening?
- 22:28>> Cameron: I'm gonna let you roll for that. And depending on like, just grab them and like
- 22:31slap him across the face, he's part of that. So you have to be able to get there before
- 22:34it's ah, twelve. Yeah, you
- 22:37stop. It.
- 22:40>> Cameron: Says this works even if the thing that's currently
- 22:43present is freaking them out. As long as that
- 22:46my voice can be heard, they'll be sued. Okay, so I grab
- 22:49his arm as he's starting to run away and go.
- 22:51>> Cameron: James, James, calm down, calm down. We're perfectly
- 22:54safe, okay? As long as we stick
- 22:57together, nothing can hurt us. Plus, like he said, the police
- 22:59are on their way. Wait, but why would we even have to worry?
- 23:02Okay, this place is a typical place
- 23:05that, people have gone through. And what's the worst thing that can be
- 23:08here? That probably was just them. If it.
- 23:11>> Cameron: If I'm here, the screen as you say that you're.
- 23:15>> Cameron: I hear that and I go, hey, calm down.
- 23:17>> Cameron: Okay? If it's not animatronics, you know what? That probably was
- 23:20a bat. Bats are typical in these haunted
- 23:23houses. Right?
- 23:24>> Skylar: Right.
- 23:25>> Cameron: Okay, okay. Nothing wrong with a bat. Also, I know
- 23:28my, my bats. No, bats are dangerous,
- 23:30okay? Some might cate dangerous diseases, but
- 23:34I mean, I'm finding nothing that modern medicine can't take.
- 23:36>> Skylar: Im fine.
- 23:36>> Skylar: If I become a vampire, that's fine. I just don't want to get grabbed by
- 23:39a different kind of undead.
- 23:42>> Cameron: Different kind of undead? Well, the only undead here is
- 23:45you killing the spirit of this room. Okay, so.
- 23:50>> Cameron: Just.
- 23:51>> Cameron: So how about we, you give me back my sword of the
- 23:54spirit of.
- 23:55>> Cameron: And put, I put
- 23:58back on my helmet and I said, how.
- 24:00>> Cameron: About you give me back my sword of spirit and we make our way
- 24:02upstairs and that's probably where the candy is. Okay?
- 24:05>> Skylar: Okay.
- 24:05>> Cameron: Okay.
- 24:06>> Cameron: Okay.
- 24:06>> Skylar: What, what?
- 24:07>> Mikayla: can I use my move connected odds?
- 24:10>> Cameron: Absolutely.
- 24:12>> Mikayla: So, based on.
- 24:13>> Cameron: So read. Tell us what that is. And.
- 24:14>> Mikayla: Okay, so I'm listening. At the beginning of each
- 24:17mystery, if you look for the wider
- 24:20patterns that current events might be a part of, roll
- 24:23sharp on a ten plus hold three.
- 24:26On a seven and nine, hold one. Spend your hold during the mystery to ask
- 24:29the keeper any of the following questions. So, basically,
- 24:32with the door and the footprints and whatever, the glowing
- 24:35orb.
- 24:35>> Cameron: So you have to.
- 24:36>> Mikayla: That's what I want to connect the dots.
- 24:38>> Cameron: You have to roll to tell me how many of these you get to ask. Right,
- 24:41so you need to roll two, d, six plus, what was it?
- 24:44Sharp. you need to roll plus sharp right now.
- 25:12>> Mikayla: Ten.
- 25:13>> Cameron: So you have. So you get to hold three
- 25:15questions, just for. So you at any time,
- 25:18get asked me any of these questions and all,
- 25:21you know, so you get three, three times. So mark that up,
- 25:24make a little tally somewhere on your sheet next to it, and just mark off one, two, three,
- 25:27and then circle or something every time you do it. So if you would
- 25:30like to ask me a question, any of these questions now, feel free. And
- 25:33if you want to, honestly, this is. Yes. And podcast. Like, if you want to
- 25:36tweak one of these a little bit, you would kind of start asking about connecting
- 25:39the dots between a couple different things. Ask away.
- 25:42>> Mikayla: I think I'm gonna wait.
- 25:43>> Cameron: Okay. so, because you ruled, I'm just
- 25:46gonna give you a recap. So you went to Gary House. You found. You
- 25:49have the scrapbook that has the information necessary, that
- 25:52talks to you about these events happening, and, you know, who owned the
- 25:55house. you know that he died in a mysterious
- 25:57circumstances. So going forward,
- 26:00I would assume you're gonna continue to look for other pieces of
- 26:03evidence throughout this house. and when you find a piece of
- 26:06evidence, that would be where it would be appropriate to ask any of
- 26:09these three questions, any of these questions, any of the three that you get to
- 26:12kind of narratively do it.
- 26:13>> Skylar: Nice.
- 26:14>> Cameron: So we are. You have one place you can go, left. this is
- 26:16kind of a, you know, front parlor through. Into the
- 26:19kitchen, through the dining room, into the kitchen kind of thing. You have
- 26:22kind of narratively gotten through anything you. Anything you can get to in this
- 26:25house. Maybe try an extra door. One of them is
- 26:28blocked up at the back. You know, there's another door, can't
- 26:31budge, you know, so really, narratively, the
- 26:34only way you can really go is
- 26:37going to be up, the stairs. Yep.
- 26:40>> Cameron: All right, guys, well, as long as we stick together, we'll
- 26:43be safe. Okay?
- 26:43>> Cameron: So don't worry about it.
- 26:45>> Skylar: Just.
- 26:45>> Cameron: Long as we stick. Where's Ella?
- 26:49>> Cameron: You just turn around.
- 26:50>> Cameron: She's been behind you this entire.
- 26:54>> Cameron: I was, like, segueing for you to be gone.
- 26:56>> Cameron: All right, so you, are heading
- 26:59upstairs. You, have, you
- 27:02know, led by your fearless protector, Bible
- 27:05man. Bible man? Is
- 27:08this. I gotta ask. I've been wondering this since the beginning. Is this,
- 27:10like, a legit Bible man costume, or is this, like, a knockoff your mom
- 27:13made?
- 27:14>> Cameron: No, it's legit.
- 27:15>> Cameron: So they actually went to the christian bookstore and bought.
- 27:18That's right, they did.
- 27:20>> Skylar: And they also have one rack, and it's called the
- 27:22fall festive section. And it's
- 27:25just Bible man costumes? no, in
- 27:28biblical based costumes. Like, there's a Jesus costume.
- 27:30>> Cameron: I could've been Moses.
- 27:31>> Cameron: Okay. I feel like that you would. You would. It'd be risque in the community.
- 27:34I don't think you would think so.
- 27:36>> Skylar: But it's not like they still would have back
- 27:39then.
- 27:39>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 27:40>> Skylar: Or maybe they set them aside for Moses when
- 27:42Christmas comes around.
- 27:44>> Cameron: Yes.
- 27:44>> Skylar: Or Easter.
- 27:45>> Cameron: Yes. You would dress up as Jesus for, like, nativity scenes.
- 27:48>> Cameron: They only, like. That's a historical recreation costume.
- 27:50Yeah. Ah.
- 27:51>> Skylar: They only have Jesus adult
- 27:53costumes because that. That's all they would trust to
- 27:56represent Christ.
- 27:57>> Cameron: They would not have kids. Kids dress up as Moses or
- 28:00David or, like, shepherds. Yeah.
- 28:02>> Skylar: Or shepherds, the wise men.
- 28:05>> Cameron: That's the baby. Yeah. so as you walk in, led by.
- 28:08I'm assuming led by Bible man. what order are you going up the
- 28:11stairs after Bible man?
- 28:13>> Skylar: I'm following close behind Bible man.
- 28:16I am hiding behind his shield of faith.
- 28:19>> Cameron: I'm just, like. I'm picking up the caboose.
- 28:22>> Cameron: Just.
- 28:22>> Cameron: No one remembers, Ella.
- 28:25>> Cameron: Oh, Ella's gonna be abandoned in this place.
- 28:27>> Cameron: Well, we're gonna. Ella's gonna have make a mark
- 28:30here.
- 28:34how's the sugar high doing? Is the sugar high still going strong?
- 28:37>> Cameron: Oh, she's. She's doing good. She's. She's chilling.
- 28:39>> Cameron: This is a kid that knows how to, like, ride the wave. Yeah.
- 28:43>> Cameron: She is armed with her Miss frizzle. What is Miss
- 28:45Frizzle?
- 28:46>> Cameron: Carry a
- 28:48lizard.
- 28:49>> Cameron: She has a lizard, and she just has, like, dresses that pertain
- 28:52to whatever lesson she's teaching. She doesn't have, like, a bag or anything?
- 28:54>> Cameron: No, I don't think so.
- 28:55>> Cameron: But she's armed with the barbell and
- 28:57405 actual pounds
- 29:00of olympic weights.
- 29:02>> Skylar: She's got to have the bus keys.
- 29:04>> Cameron: Oh, yeah.
- 29:04>> Skylar: She's got to have that be the only other thing I can think of.
- 29:07>> Cameron: So you get to the top of this landing and you're
- 29:09gonna find it going in a couple directions.
- 29:12You know, you've been in an older house. You know, you have the
- 29:15living area down below, and then you have the bedrooms upstairs.
- 29:18So you really have some choices where to go. These
- 29:21footprints end kind of
- 29:24ambiguously, right? they're kind of maybe sort of pointing towards
- 29:27one, but it's almost like a broom or some wind swept them
- 29:30away. So you don't really know which door you're supposed to go in.
- 29:33You have three options. and I'm going to let you
- 29:36guys decide what you do for from here.
- 29:38>> Skylar: Okay?
- 29:38>> Cameron: I don't wanna. You're upstairs. depending on where
- 29:41you go, and what you find will be
- 29:44there in front of you.
- 29:45>> Cameron: Can I do an investigate a situation to see
- 29:48what might be the best option?
- 29:50>> Cameron: Sure. so you're gonna try to investigate a mystery.
- 29:53My question to you. Do you have any
- 29:56moves that you would like to do? Cause I'm just looking at your sheet right now.
- 29:59>> Cameron: I've come to find out that two of them are kind of useless. Cause they
- 30:02only pertain to ad experience. So I just have trust
- 30:05me and panic button. Because these are the only ones that, like, whenever monster
- 30:08captures you had experience or whenever you go off
- 30:11by yourself. Mark an experience.
- 30:13>> Cameron: Okay, let's pick one of those to get.
- 30:15>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 30:15>> Cameron: Do you have. Don't worry. Do you have the bottom?
- 30:17>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 30:17>> Cameron: So that one will then mark experience. I. When
- 30:20I picked that for you, I thought that was, a little bit different. Get, rid
- 30:23of one of those and pick one of those of your choice to keep. if
- 30:26you have one you'd rather have just switch one out.
- 30:28>> Cameron: I kind of like oops. If you want
- 30:31to stumble across something important, tell the keeper you will find
- 30:34something important and useful, although not necessarily
- 30:37related to your immediate problem.
- 30:38>> Cameron: Okay. Then you will,
- 30:41let's say I'll take.
- 30:42>> Cameron: Away always the victim, and I'll switch it
- 30:45with oops.
- 30:46>> Cameron: Okay.
- 30:46>> Mikayla: What? You'll switch it with what?
- 30:49>> Skylar: Oops.
- 30:50>> Mikayla: Okay.
- 30:50>> Cameron: so I will use my oops,
- 30:53ability. Do I need to roll?
- 30:55>> Cameron: No. that's the fun thing with the midnane, is you just kind of get to fall into
- 30:58things. so you're
- 31:01like scooter, you know, xander from Buffy. Like,
- 31:04you are. You literally fall into things.
- 31:07So you're literally going to trip
- 31:09and fall and you're gonna land
- 31:12face to face with a
- 31:15teddy bear. So you literally
- 31:18land on top of this teddy bear that,
- 31:21is remarkably less dusty
- 31:24than the rest of the landing around it. Oh, you can
- 31:27infer that it has been teddy bear far more recently than
- 31:30anything else.
- 31:31>> Cameron: Small guy. Let me. Let me see this. So she picks up the
- 31:34teddy bear, and she, like, starts to
- 31:37examine it, kind of look around, see if there's
- 31:39anything weird with it. But she's the skeptic, so she's like, oh, it's
- 31:42just. Just a teddy bear. And she'll just kind of
- 31:45carry it along with her.
- 31:47>> Cameron: All you notice on the bottom is the name, Rosie written
- 31:50across the bottom. So if you make a note of that somewhere, I'd appreciate it.
- 31:53>> Cameron: Rosie the teddy bear.
- 31:54>> Cameron: Rosie the teddy or rosies. Like, it's like a. Ah.
- 31:57Like you put your name on your toy, so either
- 32:00could be. Either. Yeah, exactly.
- 32:01>> Cameron: You don't know.
- 32:02>> Cameron: Yeah, I would infer it's more toy story style. Like
- 32:05it's the name of the person that owns it.
- 32:07>> Skylar: Are you sure you want to be messing with that? Be some kind of
- 32:10Chucky situation?
- 32:11>> Cameron: Messing with what?
- 32:12>> Cameron: Who's Chucky? Touchet Finster from the rugrat.
- 32:15>> Skylar: Oh, rugrats is a no,
- 32:17like, Chucky. Like the dollar that's
- 32:20haunted by the spirit of a serial killer
- 32:23guy.
- 32:24>> Cameron: It's just a teddy bear.
- 32:25>> Cameron: It's tasteful decor games.
- 32:27>> Cameron: If you don't.
- 32:28>> Cameron: You don't know what.
- 32:29>> Skylar: Like, you don't know what spirit might reside in it, though.
- 32:32>> Cameron: The whole spirit, spirit of fun.
- 32:35>> Skylar: Maybe. Maybe you should exercise it there, Alex,
- 32:39just in case.
- 32:40>> Cameron: I mean, he's a little fat, but.
- 32:43>> Cameron: Some, like, jumping jacks or something.
- 32:45>> Cameron: Make him do some, jumping jacks.
- 32:47>> Cameron: I'm just moving the hands
- 32:50up and down very
- 32:52fast.
- 32:53>> Cameron: There you go. Work it.
- 32:54>> Cameron: Work it.
- 32:55>> Cameron: All right. All of a sudden, you hear the
- 32:58windows start rattling in a scream
- 33:02louder than you have heard before. You can infer that's
- 33:05coming from what would be the front room of this
- 33:08house.
- 33:09>> Cameron: M one of these three doors up here.
- 33:11>> Cameron: Yes.
- 33:12>> Skylar: whip out my.
- 33:13>> Cameron: I want to run directly towards the door.
- 33:16>> Cameron: Someone's in danger. I have to protect them.
- 33:19>> Skylar: All right.
- 33:19>> Skylar: Bible man calls, then I'm backing him
- 33:22up. I'm coming from a distance, but I'm backing him up. I got my nerf
- 33:25gun out at this point. Just makes me feel better.
- 33:27>> Cameron: Loaded?
- 33:28>> Skylar: Yeah, of course.
- 33:29>> Cameron: Okay.
- 33:29>> Cameron: But this time, when I run into.
- 33:32But I'm ready this time. Last time, surprise
- 33:35attack. This time, I'm coming in, shield up.
- 33:38And I go, evildoers, beware.
- 33:41It's like, open. Throw open the door and go
- 33:44running in with my shield up and my sword in
- 33:47front of me.
- 33:48>> Cameron: All right. You find yourself in a child's
- 33:50playroom. You will
- 33:53be shocked and know, and hopefully notice that
- 33:56this room is, while
- 33:59not clean by the standards
- 34:02of, you know, your house, it's not
- 34:04dusty. It's not. There's no
- 34:07cobwebs. It looks like it has
- 34:10been taken care of. You
- 34:12know, someone's dusted someone. It looks like a, like
- 34:15an occupied room. Like, not like someone lives in it, but, like,
- 34:18someone spend. Someone goes in there and visits.
- 34:21So inside of this room, you're
- 34:24going to. You know what? I'm not going to tell you what's
- 34:27in here. You're going to have to decipher it. But I'm going to tell you
- 34:30that you see, children's toys. This teddy bear that
- 34:33you have found would definitely fit in this room.
- 34:36Right? one thing you do see,
- 34:39and I'll let you figure it out from there, is you
- 34:42do see some electronic
- 34:45candles sitting in each of the windows. And you realize these are the
- 34:48windows facing the outside. So this is
- 34:50the. If you're in, like, an old style house, it's like a long but
- 34:53shallow room.
- 34:54>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 34:54>> Cameron: The child's room or the playroom or something like that. Right. So there
- 34:57are like, what looks to be like those electric candles that
- 35:00can be on a switch.
- 35:01>> Skylar: Are they on?
- 35:03>> Cameron: Not at the moment. There's no light. You have yet to
- 35:06be. You have yet to see any form of electricity in
- 35:08this house. And you're being whipped by the saber
- 35:11of God. Guys.
- 35:13>> Cameron: Sort of the spirit.
- 35:16>> Skylar: Guys, I think I think we should all take one
- 35:19of those. I think a little bit of extra light could
- 35:22do us a lot of good.
- 35:23>> Cameron: Oh, you need, like, I can lighten the mood. Here. I got my popsicle sticks.
- 35:26>> Cameron: This is an interesting addition to this content.
- 35:28>> Cameron: We're actually gonna listen to a popsicle stick joke and just see how it. We'll see how
- 35:31it lands.
- 35:31>> Cameron: Yeah, lighten the mood. Get it?
- 35:33>> Cameron: What? What did the oregano's name? Their
- 35:36son?
- 35:37>> Cameron: What did they.
- 35:38>> Cameron: Herb.
- 35:39>> Cameron: Oh, that's pretty good.
- 35:42>> Cameron: See, it's lightening the moon. I got plenty. What's
- 35:45a computer's favorite snack?
- 35:47>> Cameron: What is the computer's favorite snack? Probably like something
- 35:50like micro. Micro, chip.
- 35:52Microchips.
- 35:53>> Cameron: Micro chips.
- 35:54>> Cameron: Hey, look at that.
- 35:55>> Cameron: See, the mood is lit.
- 35:56>> Cameron: Are you sure it wasn't mega?
- 35:57>> Cameron: The mood is lit.
- 35:59>> Cameron: This room is getting so lit.
- 36:01>> Cameron: One more. One more thing.
- 36:03>> Cameron: One more.
- 36:03>> Cameron: Take it home, Ella.
- 36:04>> Cameron: why did the hipster burn himself on the
- 36:06coffee.
- 36:07>> Cameron: Probably because, he's hip with it.
- 36:10>> Cameron: He drank it before. It was cool.
- 36:12>> Cameron: That's quite funny. That was pretty
- 36:14good.
- 36:19>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 36:21>> Cameron: Relates a little to you, James, huh?
- 36:23>> Skylar: Yeah, I guess it makes me feel.
- 36:25>> Mikayla: A little bit better.
- 36:26>> Cameron: Yes, absolutely. so are you gonna. Are you
- 36:29looking to connect dots or are you looking to do an
- 36:31investigation? Like investigate a mystery
- 36:34or.
- 36:34>> Mikayla: Okay, wait, time out. Yes, rewind a little bit. So
- 36:37this scrapbook that I found, you said I had shenanigans
- 36:40around the town. And this mister
- 36:43govern's death.
- 36:45>> Cameron: Yep. It has an article about Mister McGovern,
- 36:48notable community philanthropist.
- 36:51you know, someone that would always put on a festival for kids. Doesn't say
- 36:54anything more than that.
- 36:55>> Mikayla: but is it anything about what kind of family he would have?
- 36:58>> Cameron: Nope.
- 36:58>> Mikayla: In the house?
- 36:59>> Cameron: Nope. It's not an obituary, it's an article about him dying.
- 37:02So yeah, there's definitely information missing
- 37:05from that document.
- 37:07>> Mikayla: Well, one of the questions that I could ask with my
- 37:09connect the dots is, is this
- 37:12person connected to current events more than they are
- 37:15saying?
- 37:16>> Cameron: Okay.
- 37:16>> Mikayla: Which means, I mean, we can change it slightly
- 37:19too.
- 37:21>> Cameron: Why the heck is there baby stuff?
- 37:23>> Mikayla: Yeah, what? Does this room have
- 37:26meaning to him?
- 37:27>> Cameron: I guess.
- 37:27>> Cameron: Okay, so you can infer that in Mister McGovern's
- 37:30house, that there is
- 37:33a child's playroom. And an
- 37:35obviously still cared for room, more
- 37:38so than the rest of the house, including a child's
- 37:41doll that was out of place. So
- 37:44you can probably infer that there was, at the very least, kids in
- 37:47this family. And from there, someone's
- 37:50being more attentive to those areas than to the
- 37:52rest of the house.
- 37:53>> Mikayla: Okay, so, like, looking at the walls.
- 37:57>> Mikayla: Is there anything off about them?
- 38:00Like, I'm thinking trap doors.
- 38:04Like, are people living in the walls? That's what I'm trying to figure
- 38:07out.
- 38:10>> Cameron: If you look, is this your second question? Your
- 38:13second connected odds? So the first one is, is there
- 38:16a connection to this person? Like, is it more connected to
- 38:19modern? I would say you should infer yes, there's
- 38:22something going on here that's connected to current events. So yes
- 38:25to your first one. And then you're asking
- 38:27specifically, do you want to do an
- 38:30investigation? Like investigate a mystery from there?
- 38:33>> Mikayla: Yeah.
- 38:33>> Cameron: Okay. Cause it really, none of those questions really fits what you're asking. Do
- 38:36I see anything in this room? Right?
- 38:38>> Cameron: Anything hidden?
- 38:39>> Cameron: Yeah. You've made a connection already to like, hey, there's kids here. And this
- 38:41is different. This is. So I'll let you roll
- 38:44for investigate a mystery.
- 38:47That's my place. You're sharp.
- 38:49>> Mikayla: Seven.
- 38:50>> Cameron: Okay, so on seven, you can
- 38:52see in the ceiling. let's say it's a
- 38:55normal. It's an upstairs room, so it's a little bit higher,
- 38:58more vaulted ceiling. But you can see in the middle of the room what
- 39:01would be kind of a crawl space going down the length of
- 39:04the house. You can see a trap door, like the
- 39:07outline of the trapdoor. But since you only got a seven,
- 39:10you can't see how to open it. You can just see that
- 39:13there's. There's a.
- 39:14>> Mikayla: So it's not like one of those. Attic. Pull the string.
- 39:16>> Cameron: It looks like that, but you don't. You can't see the string.
- 39:19So imagine that exact same thing where you pull it down. There's a little
- 39:22staircase, but there's no string.
- 39:24>> Skylar: I. James looks up and sees the
- 39:26trapdoor, and he says, well, I
- 39:29pointed out. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I figured you pointed out.
- 39:31>> Skylar: And he says, sometimes
- 39:34I get the feeling she's watching over
- 39:37me. And other times I feel like
- 39:40I should go.
- 39:41>> Cameron: Okay, James, you're just creeping yourself out. Okay?
- 39:45You gotta go.
- 39:46>> Cameron: Stop brooding. Yeah.
- 39:48>> Cameron: so, guys, I have a couple questions.
- 39:49>> Cameron: If this old man, McGovernor, or whatever his name
- 39:52was, Was an old man, why the heck does
- 39:55he have a children's crib, cribbage and all this
- 39:58stuff in here?
- 39:59>> Cameron: You'll know he wasn't old when he died.
- 40:01>> Cameron: I don't know that.
- 40:02>> Cameron: But you would know that.
- 40:03>> Cameron: I'm probably know he wasn't
- 40:06old when he died.
- 40:07>> Cameron: The house is old. He wasn't.
- 40:09>> Mikayla: Ditto. did that. I mean, the house is old. Did he still
- 40:12have old? He wasn't.
- 40:15>> Cameron: Oh, he wasn't an old Mandev. How old was he
- 40:18when he died? How do you know all this
- 40:21stuff?
- 40:22>> Cameron: You don't know that.
- 40:23>> Mikayla: I told you I had a scrapbook earlier.
- 40:25>> Cameron: Oh, you found the lore book.
- 40:28I didn't realize. I didn't realize they had a pamphlet at
- 40:31the front for us, to read about this haunted house.
- 40:34>> Cameron: So you're still convinced that it's. Absolutely.
- 40:36>> Cameron: Of course.
- 40:37>> Skylar: Can I take a look at it?
- 40:40>> Cameron: So.
- 40:40>> Cameron: Okay, let him look at it. Ow.
- 40:42>> Cameron: There's a dirty look at it for the listening.
- 40:45>> Skylar: I don't know what that was.
- 40:47>> Cameron: Pamphlet.
- 40:48>> Mikayla: Okay, I'm good. Take out my teeth.
- 40:52So now I probably look more like Gollum for the week.
- 41:00I mean, I'm sure my hair is coming out of my wet wig cap. You
- 41:03know, it's pretty. It's pretty golden, you know?
- 41:06No, but you seem like you're kind of a little
- 41:09crazy. what are you gonna do with the book?
- 41:11>> Skylar: I just wanna look, if it's the lore book, I don't
- 41:14like everything about horror movies. Maybe I can piece some
- 41:17things.
- 41:17>> Mikayla: Well, you're gonna give it back to me?
- 41:18>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 41:19>> Skylar: I mean, yeah. Okay.
- 41:21>> Skylar: I just started flipping through. I just kind of.
- 41:22>> Cameron: Anyways, this guy, he, died. How old was he when he
- 41:25died?
- 41:27>> Mikayla: To be determined.
- 41:28>> Cameron: What do you mean? Didn't look. Not safe.
- 41:30>> Mikayla: No, it wasn't that specific.
- 41:31>> Cameron: It just said he died.
- 41:32>> Mikayla: Yeah.
- 41:33>> Cameron: How did that.
- 41:34>> Mikayla: It didn't say that either. It was, mysterious.
- 41:37a mysterious death.
- 41:38>> Cameron: It was basically under mysterious circumstances.
- 41:41>> Mikayla: Yeah, under mysterious circumstances.
- 41:43>> Cameron: Definitely wasn't house fire. Let me.
- 41:47>> Mikayla: Does it say anything about, like, his funeral? Obituary?
- 41:49>> Cameron: Nope. It is not an obituary. It's an article about his
- 41:52death. There's an article saying notable
- 41:54philanthropist dies under
- 41:57mystery. That's all it is. A short little blurb. First
- 42:00thing on there.
- 42:00>> Mikayla: There's no proof of body. Okay, got it.
- 42:02>> Cameron: No proof of. Did they say anything about his next
- 42:05of kin?
- 42:07>> Cameron: Again, that's not information that's provided in
- 42:09this book. You can investigate around the house
- 42:12to see if.
- 42:14>> Mikayla: Can you shine your little sword light up to
- 42:17this. This little hatch in this. In the ceiling.
- 42:19>> Cameron: So we're gonna do an invest.
- 42:20>> Cameron: So you step this man.
- 42:22>> Cameron: I want you to look around like. Do you have a light?
- 42:25Yeah, of course.
- 42:27>> Cameron: I don't think what this.
- 42:28>> Cameron: I've got like a little school bus with headlights.
- 42:31>> Cameron: What does this man do for a living?
- 42:34>> Cameron: Packs that you got earlier.
- 42:36>> Cameron: Oh, cameras with flashes.
- 42:38>> Cameron: I don't know if that's enough light to see with, but you can.
- 42:41>> Cameron: Well, for a split second.
- 42:42>> Cameron: Yeah. Enough to illuminate to see if there's pictures. Right? Yeah.
- 42:44>> Cameron: I guess we'd have to develop the film so we couldn't see what I took.
- 42:47>> Cameron: Oh, man.
- 42:48>> Skylar: What is this rear window? You're gonna sing and then it's gonna
- 42:51bright flash and then all of a sudden, black. And then you're
- 42:54quickly trying to.
- 43:00>> Cameron: You could just grab one. Since we don't pay attention.
- 43:03You could grab one of those lights that's on. He said the
- 43:05light.
- 43:10>> Cameron: No one pays me any attention, so.
- 43:11>> Cameron: I just know where to. He's reading the book, and she's
- 43:14telling me to shine my light up on the track.
- 43:16>> Cameron: Which narratively amazing piece with them. M with the mundane. And mundane
- 43:19does that. They just sneak off on their own and do stuff yeah, I rolled
- 43:22a.
- 43:23>> Cameron: Seven to do it.
- 43:23>> Cameron: Seven. Well, you're investigating. So
- 43:26you have plus shark.
- 43:28>> Cameron: So eight, you can also be doing.
- 43:29>> Cameron: Don't worry, I'll check it out.
- 43:30>> Cameron: Like, I mean, yeah,
- 43:33it just says mark, experience.
- 43:35>> Cameron: There you go. Mundane. The mundane, like
- 43:37farms experience. And then they just get, they can do.
- 43:40>> Cameron: Well, he just leveled.
- 43:41>> Cameron: So really, that's what the mundane
- 43:44gets is they just do weird. They do stuff and they get things. But that's not really
- 43:47the point of this game.
- 43:48>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 43:48>> Cameron: so when you're looking at this. So you're going out and you're
- 43:51investigating for family
- 43:53photos. Pictures. All right, so you're
- 43:56gonna see a picture
- 43:58of probably
- 44:01someone that looks like they're from the
- 44:04eardies. It's before you. Right?
- 44:07Like thirties, forties, fifties. You know, be the
- 44:10certain aesthetic.
- 44:11>> Cameron: Right.
- 44:12>> Cameron: and, you know, dad's in the suit, dressed up.
- 44:15We've got a big, nice mustache. You know, he's
- 44:18wearing, you know, just, just, you know, a
- 44:21gentleman, man of whatever, he is with him
- 44:23is a very unhappy
- 44:26woman. appears to be his wife. Just severe
- 44:28and, you know, looks like resting
- 44:31beef. It's not resting. It's an
- 44:33active, active face. This
- 44:36is by choice?
- 44:37>> Skylar: Yes.
- 44:37>> Cameron: and then there is a little girl
- 44:40standing next to the
- 44:42dad, very purposely away from the mom.
- 44:45Does not appear. Wants to be next to the mom
- 44:48holding a teddy bear.
- 44:50>> Cameron: M so I kind of look down at the teddy bear that I'm
- 44:53holding.
- 44:54>> Cameron: M this looks, this looks like.
- 44:57>> Cameron: The teddy bear that she's got. And, so
- 45:00I'll pick up the picture. Do I see anything else before I hit head
- 45:03back?
- 45:04>> Cameron: so looking at the
- 45:06picture. So, you have
- 45:10come off by yourself. Yes.
- 45:12you turn
- 45:15looking. Turn probably towards the rest of the
- 45:18room, and you see what appears
- 45:21to be a child,
- 45:23slightly glowing, looking back at you before a door
- 45:26closes.
- 45:27>> Cameron: I'm gonna go try that door.
- 45:29>> Skylar: I mean, I think we all jump too.
- 45:30>> Cameron: Like, well. Cause again, you don't realize she's gone.
- 45:33>> Cameron: Yeah, you're.
- 45:35>> Cameron: You left the room in, kept
- 45:37talking.
- 45:38>> Skylar: Just went over to the window sill.
- 45:39>> Cameron: To get a no thing. Like in real life. You didn't even know
- 45:42that we're conversing about the.
- 45:47>> Skylar: I was reading the book. In the book, I got a whole
- 45:50passage I found that I'm gonna share with you guys.
- 45:52>> Cameron: I'm gonna go try opening that door
- 45:55because, you know, she's the sketch. She doesn't think it's a ghost. She just think,
- 45:58oh, it's. That was weird. I need to
- 46:01go check out what's going on.
- 46:03>> Cameron: So jiggle, jiggle. There's. There's no rule for this. You get there,
- 46:05the doors are locked. Jiggle, jiggle.
- 46:10PG podcast.
- 46:12>> Mikayla: It just sounded like the start of a don't stop.
- 46:19>> Cameron: So you get there, you try to open the door.
- 46:22No dice. you can see a calm,
- 46:25almost like, to what seems to be the kid, almost
- 46:27comically oversized keyhole, like one of the old timey big
- 46:30keys that goes into it. And you still
- 46:33have one door left, so one more avenue to go to
- 46:36explore. You think there's something in this room, but
- 46:39you can't get to the room right now. M so.
- 46:42>> Cameron: So I'll walk back up.
- 46:43>> Cameron: and I'll back to the child's.
- 46:44>> Cameron: Room or back to. Back to where everyone's at. I'm just like, okay,
- 46:47has anyone seen
- 46:50large, comically sized keys anywhere?
- 46:53>> Cameron: Again, to you, it seems like that, but this is just, like a normal size. Like,
- 46:56you've never seen a key like that. But it's a
- 46:59skeleton key.
- 46:59>> Cameron: Oh, I have the key and not the key hole.
- 47:02>> Cameron: No, you have. You've seen the keyhole.
- 47:04>> Cameron: Oh, but we need the big key.
- 47:05>> Cameron: Yeah. So, to you, it just looks, like, way bigger than you're used to.
- 47:08>> Cameron: Okay, so has anyone seen keys anywhere?
- 47:11>> Skylar: No, but I did find a article about the
- 47:14guy that used to live here in the book.
- 47:16>> Cameron: Is this gonna be more my chemical romance lyrics?
- 47:19>> Skylar: What? No. Not everything about me is
- 47:21my chemical romance.
- 47:22>> Cameron: Okay, no, definitely no
- 47:25panic. Definitely flip. Not.
- 47:28>> Skylar: What. What is that I don't listen to.
- 47:30>> Cameron: Definitely gonna be third eye blind.
- 47:32>> Skylar: Look, it says right here. It says
- 47:36he woke up from dreaming and put on his
- 47:39shoes, started making his way past
- 47:42two in the morning. He hasn't been sober
- 47:45for days. Leaning.
- 47:47>> Skylar: Okay, just be clear.
- 47:49>> Cameron: There's no evidence, and it's a drinker.
- 47:51>> Skylar: It's an all time low.
- 47:52>> Cameron: All time.
- 47:53>> Mikayla: Oh, yeah, I was gonna say, I did not read that in the
- 47:56book.
- 47:57>> Cameron: I didn't think that was in the book.
- 47:58>> Cameron: Anyways, I'm shining my light on the trap door.
- 48:02>> Cameron: Okay.
- 48:02>> Cameron: To, like, investigate a mystery. That's a
