- 0:27Speaker 1: news media and we hope to see you at Breakingpoints
- 0:29Speaker 1: dot com. Good morning, everybody, Happy Wednesday. We have an
- 0:36Speaker 1: amazing show everybody today, all right, have it up there
- 0:39Speaker 1: we go, Fascist Pau We almost put the arm in it.
- 0:42Speaker 1: It's interesting the Roman Roman salute here Fascist points with
- 0:47Speaker 1: the Sager and Emily gotta keep the arm down, right,
- 0:50Speaker 1: you guys, keep the volume, dot Man the volume? What
- 0:52Speaker 1: this is? What it's all about? Emily? All right? We
- 0:55Speaker 1: can remember you know, all of our predecessors, they would
- 0:58Speaker 1: speak loudly and formally manned attention. All right, giving the
- 1:01Speaker 1: critics enough there, what are we starting with what are
- 1:04Speaker 1: we starting with? We have a huge breaking news here,
- 1:06Speaker 1: thousands of more troops that are headed to the Middle East.
- 1:09Speaker 1: We added it in as of this morning, so we're
- 1:11Speaker 1: going to do a little bit of mini block here
- 1:13Speaker 1: at the top, just to update everybody on the situation
- 1:16Speaker 1: with Iran. We're also going to talk about inflation. That
- 1:18Speaker 1: is by far our biggest story. We have the IMF
- 1:21Speaker 1: which is warning about rapid inflation spreading across the entire
- 1:24Speaker 1: global economy. Gas prices four dollars and eleven cents a
- 1:28Speaker 1: gallon here, Beef is going up, Fertilizer is drying up
- 1:31Speaker 1: for farmers. Things are not looking good here in the
- 1:33Speaker 1: United States of America, Emily, We're going to talk about
- 1:36Speaker 1: polling and the Vice president at an event yesterday with
- 1:39Speaker 1: TPUSA did not look good for him for the administration.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Basically a stadium which was like what a quarterfall? What
- 1:47Speaker 1: would you say, I mean look bad luck? Yeah, it
- 1:50Speaker 1: was bad luck and giving some pleas to younger conservatives
- 1:54Speaker 1: to not flee the movement. We'll see how it works out. Europe,
- 1:59Speaker 1: this is a fascinating story. So we covered the Pope
- 2:02Speaker 1: Francas yesterday. It turns out now fracas. Yeah, we're pepperlell
- 2:07Speaker 1: sat verbage in here. So we had the Pope fracas yesterday.
- 2:11Speaker 1: We thought it was over. No it's not over. So
- 2:14Speaker 1: the Italian Prime Minister Maloney, she's defending the pope, and
- 2:18Speaker 1: now Trump is trashing her. And then the Italian Prime
- 2:21Speaker 1: Minister is now suspending a defense agreement with Israel. So
- 2:24Speaker 1: really fascinating in terms of how this war just continues
- 2:27Speaker 1: to rewrite geopolitics. Schielle ben Freim is going to join us.
- 2:32Speaker 1: He is the geopolitical analyzes in Israeli. He's going to
- 2:34Speaker 1: join us to talk about this Lebanese Israeli meeting that
- 2:38Speaker 1: happened here in Washington yesterday. I believe it was the
- 2:41Speaker 1: highest level talks since the nineteen eighties. So interesting. But
- 2:45Speaker 1: of course, you know, Israel wants to keep bombing Lebanon,
- 2:48Speaker 1: violating the ceasefire that originally was agreed upon by the
- 2:51Speaker 1: United States. So I'm interested to hear what he said.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And a he had very fascinating breakdown and kind of
- 2:55Speaker 1: interest in the domestic politics of Israel, which I didn't
- 2:58Speaker 1: fully and I didn't fully know. And then finally we
- 3:01Speaker 1: are going to talk about these scientists, and there is
- 3:04Speaker 1: a now tenth missing scientist who is linked to all
- 3:08Speaker 1: of these missing scientists. We're going to be joined by
- 3:10Speaker 1: Lauren Conlin of Pop Crime TV. I saw a segment
- 3:14Speaker 1: that she did emily phenomenal job. She's one of those
- 3:17Speaker 1: like true crime people and she really like delves in
- 3:19Speaker 1: to the details, so it's much better than to hear
- 3:21Speaker 1: from an idiot like me. And then of course everybody's
- 3:24Speaker 1: favorite professor Robert Pape the Escalation Trap, will be joining
- 3:28Speaker 1: us at ten am to break down I think, not
- 3:30Speaker 1: only just these latest troops into the region, but also
- 3:34Speaker 1: kind of the bigger picture, whether we're in a real
- 3:36Speaker 1: ceasefire or not. We're always interested to hear what he
- 3:39Speaker 1: has to say before we get to that. Thank you
- 3:40Speaker 1: to everybody subscribing to the Showbreakingpoints dot com. We are
- 3:43Speaker 1: doing the AMA today. We are doing the AMA today.
- 3:45Speaker 1: We went a little late yesterday so we weren't able
- 3:47Speaker 1: to do it. And then, of course, if you're listening
- 3:49Speaker 1: to this on a podcast, please share an episode with
- 3:51Speaker 1: a friend and on YouTube, go ahead and hit subscribe
- 3:55Speaker 1: to our channel. Two point zero two just doesn't do
- 3:57Speaker 1: it for me. What's your number?
- 3:58Speaker 3: Oh you want, yeah, but it needs to be clean
- 4:01Speaker 3: clean fifty.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Oh my god, that's why we're here. That's like, mister beast, nonsense.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Let's be honest. We've got to set reasonable goals. Christal's
- 4:10Speaker 1: at two point five, Crystal's two point five. I'm two
- 4:12Speaker 1: point two two. We could stop right there too, two
- 4:15Speaker 1: two like nice clean. I like two point zero, but
- 4:17Speaker 1: then immediately went up to two point zero one thanks
- 4:20Speaker 1: to you. I think you're the person who gave you.
- 4:22Speaker 1: And Ryan were begging and I was like, no, you
- 4:24Speaker 1: got to stop. We have stuff in two All right,
- 4:26Speaker 1: let's go ahead and hit it. Let's get to the
- 4:28Speaker 1: mini block. So turning now to these ground troop news,
- 4:31Speaker 1: gonna put this up here on the screen. Washington Post
- 4:34Speaker 1: stan Lamoth reporting US sends thousands more troops to the
- 4:38Speaker 1: Middle East as Trump seeks to squeeze Iran. The deployment
- 4:41Speaker 1: includes sailors and marines due to arrive as the administration
- 4:44Speaker 1: attempts to enforce a maritime blockade against the regime in Tehran.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Pentagon sending some six thousand troops aboard the aircraft carror
- 4:54Speaker 1: USS Georgia hw Bush. Several warships are escorting it about
- 4:59Speaker 1: forty two one hundred others with the Boxer Amphibious Group
- 5:03Speaker 1: and it's embarked Marine Corps Task Force, the eleventh Marine
- 5:06Speaker 1: Expeditionary Unit, are also expected to arrive near the end
- 5:09Speaker 1: of this month. So this infusion of firepower up quote
- 5:12Speaker 1: appears likely to coalesce with warships already in the Middle
- 5:15Speaker 1: East as a two week ceasefire is set to expire.
- 5:18Speaker 1: The troops will then join the estimated fifty thousand personnel
- 5:22Speaker 1: the Pentagon has said are involved in operations against Iran.
- 5:25Speaker 1: So Emily, I mean something, Crystal and I always point
- 5:28Speaker 1: out these ceasefires. There's talks, there's reports, there's all this.
- 5:31Speaker 1: You gotta follow the troops. You don't send two or
- 5:34Speaker 1: three aircraft carriers to the Middle East, sail it around
- 5:37Speaker 1: the Horn of Africa all to come there with tens
- 5:41Speaker 1: of thousands of troops that are all on their way,
- 5:43Speaker 1: and the eighty second Airborne is already there, and you
- 5:45Speaker 1: got these Marine expeditionary forces that are coming from Asia.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Not to use them, at least so far in the
- 5:51Speaker 1: Trump administration, every time there was thousands of troops in
- 5:54Speaker 1: the Caribbean, all their talk talk talk about Maduro at
- 5:57Speaker 1: the end of the day, what do we do. We
- 5:58Speaker 1: went and we kidnapped him. Year with Iran, it's very
- 6:01Speaker 1: unlikely usually, you know, to not have to have all
- 6:04Speaker 1: these forces and not use them. You could say it
- 6:06Speaker 1: is a deterrent effect, and it certainly has been in
- 6:08Speaker 1: US history. But with this president, when the troops are there,
- 6:12Speaker 1: he tends to use them. That's just my general analysis.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I'm curious for your views.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Well, it's interesting you say that because actually, just within
- 6:18Speaker 3: the last twenty or so minutes, the Associated Press is
- 6:21Speaker 3: out with a report I'm reading from the UH so
- 6:25Speaker 3: they're saying.
- 6:26Speaker 1: That to please while she's talking, you know, pop that
- 6:29Speaker 1: up on the screen.
- 6:30Speaker 3: So they're saying that, in principle, there's an agreement on
- 6:35Speaker 3: the table. And this is what is interesting about your point, Sager,
- 6:39Speaker 3: that you're following the troops and not necessarily just the deals.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Because Trump said on we're going to cover this in
- 6:46Speaker 3: a bit Maria Bartiromo show this morning, it's going to
- 6:48Speaker 3: be a big two days in the Iran ceasefor fire negotiations.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Pay attention to the next two days. So is this
- 6:55Speaker 3: what his two day was that this in principal agreement,
- 7:00Speaker 3: is that what he was telegraphing. Yeah, in the watch
- 7:03Speaker 3: the next forty eight hours and how significant actually is.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Let's break it down right, So this is an AP headline.
- 7:09Speaker 1: It comes from Cairo, so always take a look at
- 7:11Speaker 1: the dateline. It says mediators moved closer Wednesday to extending
- 7:16Speaker 1: the ceasefire between the US and Iran and restarting negotiations
- 7:19Speaker 1: to salvage the fragile truths before it expires. Senior Iranian
- 7:22Speaker 1: military official threatn to halt trade in the region if
- 7:24Speaker 1: the US has not lived it's naval blockade. So that's
- 7:27Speaker 1: all we got, all right, No, the dateline, it's from Cairo,
- 7:31Speaker 1: and nobody else is running with us. Nobody else is
- 7:33Speaker 1: running it. It's the Egyptians who are leaking it. That's fine,
- 7:36Speaker 1: maybe it's true, but Egypt has it really been the
- 7:39Speaker 1: driving force. Still, Let's give again a bigger picture to
- 7:41Speaker 1: the audience. It's Egypt, it's Turkey, and it's Pakistan. Which
- 7:44Speaker 1: are these like negotiators and or ceasefire like you know,
- 7:48Speaker 1: they're the ones who are mediating between all three of
- 7:51Speaker 1: the countries. Egypt actually has pretty good relations and has
- 7:53Speaker 1: been on the phone quite a bit both with the
- 7:55Speaker 1: US and with Iran. Yeah, but even then you've got
- 7:57Speaker 1: a mediator here saying in principle and extension. Maybe that's true. However,
- 8:02Speaker 1: even if it is true, an extension of a ceasefire
- 8:04Speaker 1: is not an end to hostilities. And we have all
- 8:07Speaker 1: of these bigger picture things. Again, with Venezuela, we saw
- 8:10Speaker 1: on and off and on and off until assets could
- 8:14Speaker 1: move to the region. With Gaza as well, by the way, yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 1: go into it, go ahead.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Well, I was gonna say, I mean, you, how many
- 8:19Speaker 3: times did we hear in principle? I mean, maybe not
- 8:22Speaker 3: that exact phrase, but over and over again, Trump was saying,
- 8:25Speaker 3: similar to what he's doing now, stretched out over six
- 8:28Speaker 3: months or so, that we have a deal, we have
- 8:30Speaker 3: an agreement, or we're very close to ending the war.
- 8:33Speaker 3: And so it's part of his I mean, at least
- 8:35Speaker 3: he sees it as part of his negotiation of just
- 8:38Speaker 3: putting things out in public and hoping that it sticks
- 8:41Speaker 3: with the American people and then hoping that it moves
- 8:44Speaker 3: the deal in.
- 8:44Speaker 1: One direction or everybody. I mean, let's remember from that
- 8:46Speaker 1: New York Times story is that Trump had decided to
- 8:50Speaker 1: attack Iran long before all of those negotiations had even
- 8:54Speaker 1: happened in the month of February. He basically decided to
- 8:56Speaker 1: attack him in early February. So all of those Ed
- 9:00Speaker 1: Kushner talks and it's all cafe. No, it's a great point.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I mean, something tells me this time he actually does
- 9:06Speaker 1: want a deal because he's panicking a little bit. Seems
- 9:08Speaker 1: royal the economy. But you never know, you know, he
- 9:10Speaker 1: kind of seemed like he wanted to deal at that
- 9:12Speaker 1: time too, And you got all these tens of thousands
- 9:14Speaker 1: of troops there. You just have to think on a
- 9:16Speaker 1: long enough timeline with Israel and with Trump and the
- 9:19Speaker 1: unpredictability and the lack of real good faith happening in
- 9:22Speaker 1: these negotiations. And remember what I flagged for everybody yesterday.
- 9:25Speaker 1: The technical experts I talked with some few others. There
- 9:29Speaker 1: was basically no real technical expert in the room in Islamabad.
- 9:32Speaker 1: There was the vice president, there was a defense at
- 9:35Speaker 1: tashe the defense attache. That's nothing like we need to
- 9:38Speaker 1: be talking serious civilian and military nuclear scientists. The same
- 9:42Speaker 1: people who tried to hash out JCPOA on the Iranian side,
- 9:45Speaker 1: remember this too. They're terrified. They can't even make a deal,
- 9:48Speaker 1: because they have to go back and then hand off
- 9:50Speaker 1: a piece of paper to ten different people just to
- 9:52Speaker 1: get an okay from the Supreme leader. It probably takes
- 9:54Speaker 1: two or three days just to talk to him, like
- 9:56Speaker 1: bin Laden in the Courier, remember, because they don't want
- 9:59Speaker 1: him to be killed. And then from our side, JD
- 10:02Speaker 1: at a minimum, we know had to phone Trump six
- 10:04Speaker 1: or seven times in the middle of negotiation, so he
- 10:07Speaker 1: screwed him. He had absolutely no authority to make a deal. Right,
- 10:11Speaker 1: So you put all those together, the machinery of this,
- 10:14Speaker 1: it can't happen in two weeks, maybe even in three weeks.
- 10:17Speaker 1: In three weeks, what they will say, let's say, even
- 10:19Speaker 1: if we do have some big picture thing, we've reached
- 10:21Speaker 1: a memorandum of understanding, pending working out the details exactly, Well,
- 10:25Speaker 1: what is Israel's masterpiece? Every single time they slither in
- 10:29Speaker 1: and they're like, uh, well, what we'll do is this
- 10:33Speaker 1: one particular redline that's a violation, and then they try
- 10:36Speaker 1: to move it and move it and they work on
- 10:38Speaker 1: Trump some bad faith stuff and the next thing you know,
- 10:40Speaker 1: we're back to bombing or something bad can happen. All
- 10:43Speaker 1: of this has just been proof positive of why you
- 10:46Speaker 1: shouldn't conduct yourself. And also, let's put M three up
- 10:49Speaker 1: there on the screen again, just a flag for everybody is.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Iran's top military command came out today and says it
- 10:55Speaker 1: will disrupt trade flow in the Gulf, the Golf of
- 10:58Speaker 1: Oman and the Red Sea if US naval actions targeting
- 11:03Speaker 1: Iranian shipping continue. Said any such move would be viewed
- 11:06Speaker 1: as a breach of the cease fire. So there you go.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I mean, as the Iranian the Iranian navy or the
- 11:14Speaker 1: Iranian naval assets, the small assets that they have for
- 11:17Speaker 1: blocking the strait. So far, at least according to Sencam,
- 11:20Speaker 1: they have all turned around. Nobody knows if that's true.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Remember our segment yesterday. There's a lot of contradictory evidence.
- 11:26Speaker 1: But Sencom says, the US military we've turned all of
- 11:29Speaker 1: these Iranian ships around. Let's assume it's true. Okay. So
- 11:33Speaker 1: in that scenario, what it means is, let's put M
- 11:35Speaker 1: one up there on the screen, is that Iran faces
- 11:38Speaker 1: a halt to oil production within weeks if the blockade succeeds.
- 11:42Speaker 1: They only have sixteen days of output for output for
- 11:45Speaker 1: storage before they have to do the same thing. The
- 11:47Speaker 1: Gulf did and turn their refineries down, which would be
- 11:50Speaker 1: a devastating blow to their economy. So that's a ticking
- 11:53Speaker 1: clock right there in terms of where they have to
- 11:56Speaker 1: go before they face basically economic annihilation. And we know
- 12:00Speaker 1: from them that if they face economic annihilation, they will
- 12:03Speaker 1: face and produce economic annihilation for Saudi Arabia by closing
- 12:08Speaker 1: the Red Sea and the bab A Mandeb straight through
- 12:10Speaker 1: the Hooties and their proxies, which is why, as we
- 12:12Speaker 1: reported to everybody yesterday, a US carrier has to sail
- 12:16Speaker 1: not through the Red Sea as it normally would, but
- 12:18Speaker 1: all the way around Africa, you know, costing hundreds of
- 12:22Speaker 1: millions of dollars and delaying their arrival by I don't
- 12:25Speaker 1: even know. I think it's like two weeks of sale time.
- 12:27Speaker 1: So there's a lot of dangerous stuff here on the horizon.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Yeah, the last thing I'll say is barring some significant
- 12:31Speaker 3: concessions that would be really surprising from Iran and really
- 12:35Speaker 3: sudden from Iran, it's not we're not on the off
- 12:38Speaker 3: ramp right now.
- 12:39Speaker 1: It's that's just not what's happening.
- 12:41Speaker 3: So that's a he's trying to almost I don't want
- 12:44Speaker 3: to sound glib but like project a self fulfilling prophecy
- 12:47Speaker 3: into the universe and it's k fab as you said,
- 12:50Speaker 3: I think that's a good way to put up.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what Trump Trump is trying to do. If
- 12:53Speaker 1: you haven't read this Steve jobs biography, they talk a
- 12:55Speaker 1: lot about the reality distortion field. And that's fine when
- 12:58Speaker 1: we're talking about like a blue mac. Okay, but that's
- 13:01Speaker 1: not like a specific shade blue. Yeah, but it was beautiful.
- 13:06Speaker 1: By the way, what was the I think it was
- 13:07Speaker 1: called Bondai Blue, the Bondai Blue nineteen ninety seven Mac.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Gorgeous computer. All right, thank you Steve for forcing that. However,
- 13:17Speaker 1: that's not what we're talking about here. We're not talking
- 13:20Speaker 1: about a perfectly symmetrical cube computer, right, which he once insist.
- 13:24Speaker 1: We're talking about geopolitics and geopolitics and trying to force
- 13:30Speaker 1: a reality in which something and where he's already been
- 13:33Speaker 1: deeply humbled and come at great costs to the US.
- 13:36Speaker 1: So that's our little mini update here at the top.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Anything else you want to say, to be fair, he
- 13:39Speaker 1: has not been deeply humboled. That would be impossible. Well yeah,
- 13:42Speaker 1: I mean maybe not publicly, but behind the scenes. I
- 13:45Speaker 1: definitely definitely think so, all right, inflation, shall we inflation?
- 13:52Speaker 1: We have Donald Trump. He gave an interesting interview here
- 13:54Speaker 1: with Maria Bartriomo. Here he is saying that the Iran
- 13:58Speaker 1: war is closer than ever. And guys, let's just run
- 14:01Speaker 1: a concurrent with him talking about inflation. So let's take
- 14:04Speaker 1: a listen to these two clips.
- 14:05Speaker 4: I had to divert because if I didn't do that
- 14:09Speaker 4: right now, you would have a ran with a nuclear weapon.
- 14:12Speaker 4: And if they had a nuclear weapon, you would be
- 14:14Speaker 4: calling everybody over there, sir. And you don't want to
- 14:17Speaker 4: do that.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Well, you keep saying, was is this war over?
- 14:21Speaker 4: I think it's close to over here. I mean I
- 14:23Speaker 4: view it as very close to over. You know what,
- 14:26Speaker 4: if I pulled up stakes right now, it would take
- 14:29Speaker 4: them twenty years to rebuild that country. And we're not finished.
- 14:34Speaker 4: We'll see what happens. I think they want to make
- 14:36Speaker 4: it deal very badly.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Is that going to be enough to offset the increase
- 14:40Speaker 1: in gasoline prices?
- 14:41Speaker 4: It will be because gasoline's coming down very soon and
- 14:45Speaker 4: very big.
- 14:46Speaker 1: So you think gas prices will be lower before the Midtrium.
- 14:49Speaker 4: Electric I think they'll be much lower before mid tier,
- 14:51Speaker 4: much lower yes, Okay, Now you have to be as
- 14:54Speaker 4: on the assumption that we stop a country that cannot
- 14:58Speaker 4: have a nuclear weapon from if you give a Ran
- 15:03Speaker 4: a nuclear weapon, you want to see maid stock markets,
- 15:07Speaker 4: you won't have a country. The world will be blown up.
- 15:09Speaker 4: You can't do it. You cannot do it. So on
- 15:12Speaker 4: the assumption we have that settled, hopefully long before that
- 15:16Speaker 4: and maybe almost immediately, could be very soon.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Could be very soon, on the assumption that we have
- 15:22Speaker 1: it solved by them. Yeah, I don't think so. So
- 15:24Speaker 1: it's what's today's date. It's April, all right, So the
- 15:27Speaker 1: midterms are in six months. What we know from right
- 15:30Speaker 1: now is that the amount of oil backlog and just
- 15:34Speaker 1: shock generally to production is a minimum of three to
- 15:37Speaker 1: four months before things can somewhat resumed normal. That's if
- 15:41Speaker 1: things end today, all right, So not some like oh
- 15:44Speaker 1: in the future and all of that. So we have
- 15:47Speaker 1: twenty seven percent cut from OPEC. Let's put what is
- 15:51Speaker 1: two weeks positive?
- 15:52Speaker 3: Because well, that was happening. I went and pulled up
- 15:54Speaker 3: with Donald Trump actually told Maria Bartiromo herself two days
- 15:57Speaker 3: ago on Sunday morning, Futures. She asked him the exact
- 16:01Speaker 3: same question do you believe the price of oil and
- 16:03Speaker 3: gas will be lower before the midterm elections? This was
- 16:05Speaker 3: Donald Trump's answer, I hope so. I mean I think
- 16:08Speaker 3: so it could be, it could be or the same,
- 16:10Speaker 3: or maybe a little bit higher, but it should be
- 16:12Speaker 3: around the same. I think this won't be that much longer.
- 16:15Speaker 3: He's saying, in two days ago an interview with the
- 16:17Speaker 3: exact same person to the exact same question, maybe actually
- 16:20Speaker 3: would be higher. And then two days later he's like, no, no, no,
- 16:23Speaker 3: it'll be much lower.
- 16:24Speaker 1: It's coming down soon, right, And let's put a what
- 16:27Speaker 1: is a six on the screen just to give everybody
- 16:29Speaker 1: an idea. We still remain at four dollars and eleven
- 16:33Speaker 1: cents a gallon here nationally. And I mean, in some
- 16:37Speaker 1: ways the national price isn't really like reflective if we
- 16:40Speaker 1: take the major population center. So let's take like, what's
- 16:42Speaker 1: the biggest population in the country, California. They're paying five
- 16:45Speaker 1: eighty seven a gallon. Next is what Texas? Right, So
- 16:48Speaker 1: they're paying three seventy six a gallon, Florida for fourteen
- 16:51Speaker 1: a gallon, New York State four to twelve a gallon,
- 16:54Speaker 1: Pennsylvania four thirteen a gallon. I mean, if you actually
- 16:57Speaker 1: look at the most populous states in the country, it's
- 17:00Speaker 1: actually higher in most cases except for Texas where all
- 17:02Speaker 1: the refineries are, from what the national average is. And
- 17:06Speaker 1: you know, even the Pacific Northwest is just getting absolutely hammered.
- 17:09Speaker 1: But also, you know, the entire Issla Corridor from everything
- 17:12Speaker 1: I'm seeing, is well over four dollars a gallon on
- 17:15Speaker 1: top of Florida. And so yeah, like maybe like more
- 17:18Speaker 1: rural states or you know, North Dakota or Nebraska at
- 17:21Speaker 1: three sixty or something, but the vast majority of people
- 17:23Speaker 1: are paying well into four bucks a gallon, which is
- 17:27Speaker 1: at this point I saw a gas analysts say that
- 17:29Speaker 1: they have spent tens of billions more on gas than
- 17:32Speaker 1: if this war had never happened. So it's not just
- 17:35Speaker 1: about the cost of the United States, which is probably what,
- 17:37Speaker 1: I don't know, fifty sixty billion just in sheer hard
- 17:40Speaker 1: costs from what the Iran wars cost. Think about all
- 17:42Speaker 1: the money out of our pocketbooks that has just spent
- 17:45Speaker 1: on gas, not to mention everything else. Right, and so
- 17:49Speaker 1: with inflation, it's really pernicious. It's put a one up here.
- 17:53Speaker 1: This was from the IMF. They say that the middle
- 17:56Speaker 1: East war will slow global economic growth. The conflict will
- 18:00Speaker 1: fuel another bout of inflation. War in the Middle East
- 18:03Speaker 1: has upended the global economy, and they say specifically they
- 18:06Speaker 1: have downgraded all growth forced class globally, exposing the economic
- 18:10Speaker 1: fallout quote. The global outlook is abruptly darkened following the
- 18:13Speaker 1: outbreak of war in the Middle East. The war interrupted
- 18:16Speaker 1: what had been a steady, steady growth project, steady growth trajectory.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Here's the kill shot. In the best case scenario, the
- 18:24Speaker 1: Fund expects global growth to fall to three point one
- 18:27Speaker 1: percent this year from three point four. That is down
- 18:30Speaker 1: from the three point three that the Fund projected in January,
- 18:33Speaker 1: and is also lower than three point four growth that
- 18:35Speaker 1: it was prepared to project before the war broke out
- 18:38Speaker 1: and oil shipments across the Middle East happened. Now, of
- 18:41Speaker 1: course GDP growth and all of that is not everything,
- 18:43Speaker 1: as we've covered at nauseum here on the show. But
- 18:46Speaker 1: I think in this case, what we do know is
- 18:48Speaker 1: that it's going to hit specifically the consumer sector, which
- 18:52Speaker 1: is the lifeblood of the US economy. We'll see what
- 18:54Speaker 1: happens with the FED two rights high inflation. How are
- 18:59Speaker 1: you going to affect rates? Almost certainly not going to
- 19:01Speaker 1: cut rates. What's the Morris RD at today? Like seven percent?
- 19:05Speaker 3: It's an unanswered question for Trump when you yeah.
- 19:07Speaker 1: That's disaster, right. And then his own guy, what is
- 19:11Speaker 1: it Kevin Walsh? I think is before the US Senate
- 19:15Speaker 1: sometime soon his vote is supposed to happen. He's going
- 19:18Speaker 1: to face significant questions over. He may not even get confirmed,
- 19:21Speaker 1: as I understand it, because he has problems with what's
- 19:24Speaker 1: his name, Tom Tillis? Is that right over at North Carolina?
- 19:28Speaker 1: So there's that. There's also we had to comments on this.
- 19:30Speaker 1: We talked yesterday about the door dash Grandma grim sentence
- 19:35Speaker 1: here in the US. She was brought to the Oval
- 19:39Speaker 1: office to talk about how she greatly she has benefited
- 19:43Speaker 1: from no tax on tips. You ask me, you hear
- 19:46Speaker 1: a story like hers, that story shouldn't be their period
- 19:49Speaker 1: and it definitely shouldn't be helped by no tax on tips.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Let's take a listen to her.
- 19:53Speaker 5: My tips were over half of my income from last year.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a life changer.
- 19:59Speaker 6: Yes, it is. It is.
- 20:00Speaker 5: And when you know, like I said, when you're dealing
- 20:03Speaker 5: with someone that has gone through cancer and you know
- 20:07Speaker 5: you love them, you don't want to lose them, so
- 20:10Speaker 5: you do everything that you can, and you know, you
- 20:14Speaker 5: go through your life savings, but this no tax on
- 20:18Speaker 5: tips and the help from door dash is life changing.
- 20:24Speaker 1: I mean, what, God bless this lady. But you know,
- 20:26Speaker 1: for me, it's like, what kind of society are we
- 20:28Speaker 1: living in here? Ladies door delivered door Dash grandma who
- 20:31Speaker 1: was talking about her husband's cancer treatment and blowing out
- 20:35Speaker 1: her life, say.
- 20:35Speaker 3: This is this is sick right well, and Trump was
- 20:38Speaker 3: just positively gleeful about the entire thing. And this is
- 20:42Speaker 3: He's he's supposed to be a shock to the system.
- 20:44Speaker 3: That's I pitched himself to the American people, and here
- 20:46Speaker 3: he's doing essentially a door Dash commercial because you know,
- 20:49Speaker 3: she's emblazoned with the door Dash logo, and God bless her.
- 20:52Speaker 1: She is amazing. I love her. She's not complaining, I
- 20:54Speaker 1: know exactly. So she was a good sport big but
- 20:57Speaker 1: bigger picture. You're like, come on, man, like we should
- 20:59Speaker 1: this shouldn't eve DoorDash grandma should not be a sentence.
- 21:01Speaker 3: I'm ever uttering, right, And like some of the Trump
- 21:04Speaker 3: people were, he tipped her one hundred bucks, Like, oh,
- 21:07Speaker 3: that's so disgusting.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Rib so disgusting.
- 21:11Speaker 3: But this is the point that you're making, is that
- 21:14Speaker 3: it's a symbol of a really broken system. And to
- 21:17Speaker 3: see him just gleefully enjoying that symbol of a broken
- 21:22Speaker 3: system was it was pretty gross.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, look, you could choose just bet a
- 21:26Speaker 1: couple of different ways. I think you know we were
- 21:28Speaker 1: talking about earlier and I was like, you know, my
- 21:31Speaker 1: heart breaks every time you see a older person just
- 21:33Speaker 1: delivering door dash just because you're like, man like, look,
- 21:37Speaker 1: I don't want to be very clear, like I'm not
- 21:39Speaker 1: saying there's no dignity or anything in that, right, like
- 21:41Speaker 1: you need money and you're working, like, I got all
- 21:43Speaker 1: the respect in the world, But I'm saying, what kind
- 21:45Speaker 1: of a system is it where people who are of
- 21:47Speaker 1: retiring age you have to do it to pay for
- 21:49Speaker 1: their husband's health care, right for cancer treatment. That's where
- 21:53Speaker 1: I have a real problem. And yeah, with Trump, I
- 21:56Speaker 1: mean they're talking about no tax on tips, Okay, I mean, look,
- 22:00Speaker 1: I'm not going to begrudge anybody for saving eleven thousand
- 22:03Speaker 1: dollars on their tips, you know, and which I believe
- 22:07Speaker 1: is the maximum amount that a lot of these workers get.
- 22:09Speaker 1: I think that's great. However, what do we also know
- 22:12Speaker 1: is that you have healthcare premiums which in a twenty
- 22:15Speaker 1: four to twenty five percent I think on Obamacare and
- 22:19Speaker 1: even generally for most people, especially if you're not W
- 22:22Speaker 1: two and you're ten ninety nine, and you have to
- 22:23Speaker 1: have some semblance of healthcare outside the system, and you
- 22:27Speaker 1: have a higher deductible. I mean, I remember what was
- 22:29Speaker 1: it like they were talking about five thousand dollars baby checks. Yeah,
- 22:33Speaker 1: do you remember this discourse? They're like, we're going to
- 22:35Speaker 1: give five thousand dollars to everybody. I'm like, yeah, that
- 22:37Speaker 1: wouldn't even cover my hospital deductible. You know, like literally
- 22:40Speaker 1: would not even cover the deductible that wors hit whenever
- 22:43Speaker 1: I had a child for a deduct you know. For
- 22:45Speaker 1: I'm not saying you wouldn't take it. I think everybody
- 22:47Speaker 1: would take it. But let's be honest here about what
- 22:49Speaker 1: the overall effect is. So well, yeah, this is a
- 22:52Speaker 1: sick to me again. Six system door dash. Grandma shouldn't
- 22:56Speaker 1: like there shouldn't be a DoorDash grandma period. DoorDash Grandma
- 22:58Speaker 1: should just have like the ability. I mean, we know
- 23:01Speaker 1: this from I know a lot of people I talk
- 23:04Speaker 1: a lot of trash on boomers and on property tax,
- 23:06Speaker 1: et cetera. But you know, I think I'm I think
- 23:08Speaker 1: everybody knows I'm definitely not talking about these people and
- 23:11Speaker 1: the vast majority of people, what is it, fifty something
- 23:14Speaker 1: percent of elderly US citizens rely almost entirely on Social Security.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Like that's really grim, right, I mean, something has gone
- 23:22Speaker 1: very very wrong if you don't have a dollar to
- 23:23Speaker 1: your name except the Social Security check which is coming
- 23:26Speaker 1: your way every month.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Well and may not ever come the way of people
- 23:29Speaker 3: our age who are paying into the system. So yeah,
- 23:32Speaker 3: that and we're wildly I mean like we're wildly over taxed.
- 23:35Speaker 3: So I think that I'm talking as a country, not
- 23:37Speaker 3: certain people who are wildly under tax But this is
- 23:42Speaker 3: to the point about how blik it is. This woman
- 23:45Speaker 3: is now in a position to just as she said
- 23:50Speaker 3: she wants her husband to live like that was when
- 23:52Speaker 3: she said that, she was like, you care about them,
- 23:54Speaker 3: and you love them, and you want them to live.
- 23:56Speaker 3: And Donald Trump has this tweak to the system, I like,
- 23:59Speaker 3: no tax tips. When you have a divided Congress, you
- 24:03Speaker 3: have a really hard time doing anything.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Butt tweaks.
- 24:05Speaker 3: So I think that's great Republicans have zero, zero, zero,
- 24:10Speaker 3: zero interest in fixing the healthcare system. Yeah, so that's
- 24:14Speaker 3: to me, it's just an extra layer of grossness that
- 24:18Speaker 3: you're kind of celebrating what is good but is ultimately
- 24:21Speaker 3: a tweak without having any interest in fixing the system.
- 24:25Speaker 3: And these gig economy companies are to the extent that
- 24:29Speaker 3: are actually profitable, not all of them are. They're just
- 24:32Speaker 3: propped up by cash infusions that may not be sustainable.
- 24:38Speaker 3: And you have millennials getting used to having sixty something
- 24:42Speaker 3: year old boomers trying to pay for cancer treatment delivering
- 24:44Speaker 3: them McDonald's like she gave to Trump for thirty dollars
- 24:48Speaker 3: for a couple of burgers. It's not a sustainable system.
- 24:53Speaker 3: It's not a good system, but it's not a sustainable
- 24:55Speaker 3: system either.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Let's put a three on the screen just to show
- 24:58Speaker 1: you some of the more vulnerable Americans they're getting hit
- 25:00Speaker 1: with right now. This is from the Farm Bureau. They
- 25:03Speaker 1: just released this yesterday quote most farmers cannot afford fertilizer,
- 25:07Speaker 1: and overwhelming majority of America's farmers who responded to a
- 25:11Speaker 1: nationwide survey say they cannot afford to purchase enough fertilizer
- 25:15Speaker 1: to get them through the year. Percentage who purchased fertilizer
- 25:18Speaker 1: very significantly by region. They say that seventy percent of
- 25:21Speaker 1: respondents say that fertilizer is now so expensive they may
- 25:25Speaker 1: not be able to buy all the fertilizer that they need.
- 25:28Speaker 1: More than fifty seven hundred farmers, both farm Bureau members
- 25:31Speaker 1: and non members from every state took the survey, eight
- 25:34Speaker 1: and ten in the southern US say they can't afford
- 25:36Speaker 1: all the supplies, followed by Northeast and West at sixty
- 25:39Speaker 1: nine and sixty six, respectively, compared to some forty eight
- 25:42Speaker 1: of the farmers in the Midwest. So obviously this will
- 25:45Speaker 1: have huge impact. But what they say specifically here is
- 25:49Speaker 1: that all of this traces back to the Iran War.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Spring planting decisions depend heavily on access to fertilizer and
- 25:55Speaker 1: diesel fuel, both of which have been impacted by geopolitical
- 25:59Speaker 1: risks the escalation of tensions in the Middle East. Nitrogen
- 26:02Speaker 1: fertilizer prices have risen more than thirty percent, while combined
- 26:06Speaker 1: fuel and fertilizer costs have increased twenty to forty UREA
- 26:10Speaker 1: prices have increased by forty seven percent since the end
- 26:13Speaker 1: of February, marking the largest month to month percent increase
- 26:16Speaker 1: in the price of area in history. These increases are
- 26:19Speaker 1: occurring when producers were already facing type margins for many
- 26:24Speaker 1: consecutive years. So remember food inflation was already one of
- 26:28Speaker 1: the worst you know things that was hitting the US,
- 26:31Speaker 1: and then you have this fertilizer problem, which will directly
- 26:34Speaker 1: show up in the price of food I don't know
- 26:36Speaker 1: what six months probably and even some of the spot
- 26:39Speaker 1: prices for things in that you will see in the
- 26:42Speaker 1: grocery store are already increasing dramatically. A five please can
- 26:47Speaker 1: we put it up there on the screen. This is
- 26:49Speaker 1: about the price of beef. So the live cattle wholesale
- 26:53Speaker 1: price in Chicago, I feel like I'm eighteen hundreds come
- 26:57Speaker 1: out of an once while everyone is rightfully focused on
- 27:01Speaker 1: gasoline and oil. This is Javier Blast writing, the meat
- 27:04Speaker 1: market is not giving a respite. Live cattle wholesale price
- 27:07Speaker 1: in Chicago have now reached an all time high, surpassing
- 27:12Speaker 1: last October's peak. So you could see that pretty high
- 27:16Speaker 1: peak that happened in October of twenty twenty five. That's
- 27:19Speaker 1: when the Trump administration was kind of throwing a lot
- 27:21Speaker 1: at the cattle problem, but you could see they only
- 27:23Speaker 1: got a marginal decrease in the overall price, far higher
- 27:27Speaker 1: than where things were back in twenty twenty. And then
- 27:30Speaker 1: just check take a look there at where things are
- 27:32Speaker 1: right now. So I mean this means good for the
- 27:34Speaker 1: big guys. Yeah, it's exactly. It's great for the big
- 27:37Speaker 1: meat packing households and for everybody else. But I mean,
- 27:39Speaker 1: if you just take a look at this, like the
- 27:41Speaker 1: vast majority of food at home, inflation is apparently now
- 27:45Speaker 1: running some three percent year over year. Wages are at
- 27:48Speaker 1: two point four, So there you go. Food is wiping
- 27:51Speaker 1: that out. It saw another chart yesterday, I don't think
- 27:54Speaker 1: we have it, which was just about Kimlin of inflation
- 27:57Speaker 1: from January of twenty twenty one. It's twenty one percent.
- 28:01Speaker 1: I mean, that is a one fifth overall increase in
- 28:05Speaker 1: a five year periods. That's why I mean, people talk
- 28:09Speaker 1: about sticker shock and this. The thing is, I've always
- 28:12Speaker 1: felt this about sticker shock. You don't absorb sticker shock
- 28:15Speaker 1: month to month. Like I told that story about McDonald's
- 28:17Speaker 1: about going to the McDonald's and you know, getting a
- 28:20Speaker 1: medium fry or something, and it was four fifty nine
- 28:23Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm like wait, but like, yeah, you know
- 28:27Speaker 1: this because this is not you know, I don't do.
- 28:29Speaker 1: This is probably the first medium five bought in like years,
- 28:32Speaker 1: and I was like, whoa man, Like, in my head,
- 28:34Speaker 1: that's ninety nine cents, Like I'm like, what the hell
- 28:37Speaker 1: is going on? We paid four fifty not but yes
- 28:39Speaker 1: I did use the app. For all the trolls that
- 28:41Speaker 1: are in you get trolled about not using the app, yeah,
- 28:43Speaker 1: well because one time I paid like twenty dollars and
- 28:46Speaker 1: then all these people were furious. They're like, you have
- 28:48Speaker 1: to use the app. I'm like, okay, I'll use the app.
- 28:50Speaker 1: You gave them all my data and you know, now
- 28:52Speaker 1: I get ninety notifications a day about free breakfast and
- 28:55Speaker 1: I was fine, you know, I did it all. Apparently
- 28:58Speaker 1: still to pay four fifty nine for meting fry, I'm like,
- 29:01Speaker 1: what the hell is going on here? But I feel
- 29:03Speaker 1: like that's what most people just remember, you know, those
- 29:06Speaker 1: viral images every day of like old Chipotle prices from me,
- 29:10Speaker 1: you and I are in college right paying like eight dollars,
- 29:12Speaker 1: and now you go and they're like, oh, we have
- 29:14Speaker 1: a new sauce and it's two You're like whoa like
- 29:16Speaker 1: you have a bowls like fourteen bucks and now you're
- 29:18Speaker 1: like sixteen seventeen eighteen dollars with tax. It's it's madness. Yeah.
- 29:23Speaker 3: I went to Chick fil a the other day and
- 29:24Speaker 3: I couldn't believe the bill for like two basic Yeah,
- 29:28Speaker 3: it was shocking.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Yeah, same thing I don't get. So what's the price now,
- 29:31Speaker 1: what's like a spicy chicken sandwich go for these days?
- 29:34Speaker 1: You think I on the top. I'm just thinking. I'm
- 29:36Speaker 1: just thinking. So in my I'll tell you what I
- 29:38Speaker 1: think it should cost. Four bucks. I think it should
- 29:40Speaker 1: cost four back for the meal or for just the sandwich,
- 29:42Speaker 1: just a sandwich. Oh, interesting of the time. Again, this
- 29:45Speaker 1: is what I would remember. Maybe maybe again, maybe I'm
- 29:46Speaker 1: being delusional.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Let's see what it's running for right now.
- 29:50Speaker 1: It's all right, it's.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Between five thirty nine and six ninety nine. This is
- 29:56Speaker 3: according to Gemini.
- 29:57Speaker 1: There you go, all right, six ninety nine. All right,
- 30:00Speaker 1: sucks out here. Last thing message from Senator Roger Marshall
- 30:04Speaker 1: GOP Senator. Here's what he says about gas prices. Let's
- 30:07Speaker 1: take a listen.
- 30:08Speaker 7: Good news is we're the leading producer of oil in
- 30:11Speaker 7: the world. We're exporting more than we're importing. We're not
- 30:15Speaker 7: standing in lines that overall wages have been going faster
- 30:19Speaker 7: than inflation under this president.
- 30:21Speaker 8: Here it is, it's going to.
- 30:22Speaker 7: Be tax day very soon, and bet Americans are going
- 30:25Speaker 7: to get an extra than or fifteen hundred dollars rebate
- 30:28Speaker 7: as well. So I'm sorry the gas prices are going up,
- 30:31Speaker 7: but help is on his way, and your national security, yes,
- 30:34Speaker 7: is even more important than your pocketbook.
- 30:37Speaker 3: He so, Actually, the AP did an analysis of this,
- 30:40Speaker 3: interestingly enough, showing that with gas prices where they are
- 30:44Speaker 3: right now, if it holds steady through the rest of
- 30:46Speaker 3: the year, the average tax refund is going to be
- 30:50Speaker 3: or the actually, the average tax saving has to be
- 30:52Speaker 3: totally erased by the increasing gas prices.
- 30:56Speaker 1: So to Roger Marshall's point.
- 30:58Speaker 3: That doesn't even check out the sentence that came out
- 31:01Speaker 3: of his mouth. I'm sorry that gas prices are high.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Good luck with that. Good luck with that, dude. The
- 31:06Speaker 1: mid terms. Yeah, I mean, look, this is like the
- 31:08Speaker 1: most ridiculous and it's so crazy to me. How not
- 31:12Speaker 1: can you name a single Republican off the top of
- 31:15Speaker 1: your head not named Thomas Massey who has said anything
- 31:18Speaker 1: even remotely interesting about this war and about the overall
- 31:21Speaker 1: effect anything. No, it hasn't reiterated this. I mean, you
- 31:24Speaker 1: know I saw something today, Tim she he's the Montana
- 31:28Speaker 1: the guy who shot himself right, and the Elijah I.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Forgot about that.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Yeah, he claimed what did he say that it was
- 31:33Speaker 1: about whatever? Megan Kelly basically nailed him dead to rights
- 31:36Speaker 1: on that one. But he came out to me about
- 31:38Speaker 1: the blockade of the blockade and he's like, what a
- 31:40Speaker 1: judo incredible move. And You're like, dude, like is this really?
- 31:44Speaker 1: Is this really? You know, like I don't think he's
- 31:46Speaker 1: a stupid person. I really don't think. Yeah, I used
- 31:48Speaker 1: like a former naval I think he's name of a
- 31:50Speaker 1: former operator of some special forces or something. I don't
- 31:53Speaker 1: think he's dumb, right, And it's like they really default
- 31:56Speaker 1: to the lowest IQ level of defense and ever ones
- 32:00Speaker 1: like just sitting there eating this slop soup as if it's,
- 32:04Speaker 1: you know, a reasonable political thing to say. Are you
- 32:07Speaker 1: genuinely would think that people interested in their political future
- 32:12Speaker 1: could come up with something better than this nonsense? But
- 32:15Speaker 1: apparently that's how indefensible the entire thing is.
- 32:18Speaker 3: He's just so crazy, he has a seal. And also
- 32:20Speaker 3: I found this ap trajectory. They say, according to the
- 32:24Speaker 3: Socia Press quote, the average household would pay seven hundred
- 32:27Speaker 3: and forty dollars more in gas this year, nearly equal
- 32:29Speaker 3: to the seven hundred and forty eight increase in refunds
- 32:32Speaker 3: that the Tax Foundation, which is conservative, roughly has estimated
- 32:35Speaker 3: the average household will receive. Boom gone, Sorry Roger Mant.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Yeah, literally, dead right exactly.
- 32:41Speaker 3: That's just now, and that's also just gas. That doesn't
- 32:44Speaker 3: even actually account for how the gas prices are trickling
- 32:47Speaker 3: into everything else that you're paying for.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you know how everybody always does like
- 32:51Speaker 1: the Thanksgiving dinner inflation index. Someone should do, I mean, honestly,
- 32:55Speaker 1: with the beef thing, Let's think about it's all summer,
- 32:56Speaker 1: so it's barbecue season. It's like, how much more a cumulatively,
- 32:59Speaker 1: if you want to do burgers or something like that,
- 33:01Speaker 1: are you going to pay? Because not just a one
- 33:02Speaker 1: time dinner event, it's an entire season of where this
- 33:05Speaker 1: is a significant increase in uptake. I'm gonna guess probably
- 33:10Speaker 1: at least a few hundred bucks I think per household
- 33:13Speaker 1: compared to normal. So yeah, there you go.
- 33:15Speaker 3: And what is on top just last that, what does
- 33:17Speaker 3: this do for Trump's tariffs? What does he how does
- 33:19Speaker 3: he deal with tariffs? If he has price increases like
- 33:22Speaker 3: this steadily going into the mid terms, does it crush
- 33:25Speaker 3: his tariff agenda?
- 33:26Speaker 1: Yeah? Wow? More uncertainty from that. There you go. All right,
- 33:29Speaker 1: let's get to polling.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Vice President J. D. Vance spoke at a Turning Point
- 33:35Speaker 3: USA event last night at the University of Georgia. It was,
- 33:40Speaker 3: let's say, sparsely attended based on pictures of the crowd
- 33:44Speaker 3: instead of massive auditorium, but he also addressed whether young voters,
- 33:50Speaker 3: young conservatives are fully on board with the war in Iran.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Let's take a listen to his answer here.
- 33:56Speaker 9: I recognize that a lot of young voters don't love
- 34:02Speaker 9: the policy that we have in the Middle East.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Okay, I understand that. I also know that we've secured
- 34:07Speaker 1: the border.
- 34:08Speaker 9: We've lowered housing prices now for eight months in a row,
- 34:11Speaker 9: and there's going to be more to come beyond that.
- 34:13Speaker 9: We've made America energy dominant, which is lowered electricity costs
- 34:16Speaker 9: and things like that. We've made it so that we
- 34:19Speaker 9: have the lowest murder rate in one hundred and twenty
- 34:20Speaker 9: seven years. I'm not saying you have to agree with
- 34:23Speaker 9: me on every issue.
- 34:26Speaker 1: I'm not saying you have to agree with me on
- 34:28Speaker 1: every issue.
- 34:28Speaker 9: What I'm saying is, don't get disengaged because you disagree
- 34:33Speaker 9: with the administration on one topic.
- 34:35Speaker 8: Get more involved, make your voice heard even more.
- 34:38Speaker 9: That's how we ultimately take the country back.
- 34:40Speaker 1: It's not by you. You know, if you get five.
- 34:44Speaker 9: Things you want and one thing you don't want. I
- 34:46Speaker 9: see way too many people, especially in sort of the
- 34:48Speaker 9: online conservative you know Twitter sphere, who say, ah, you know,
- 34:53Speaker 9: there's no point, no, no, no no.
- 34:55Speaker 3: I wonder if he's actually working out some of his
- 34:57Speaker 3: own personal feelings and that answer socker. It's like, I
- 35:00Speaker 3: see too many people thinking, if you get everything you
- 35:03Speaker 3: want but one thing is bad, they just check out.
- 35:07Speaker 1: This is basically, what is this vote red? No? What's
- 35:09Speaker 1: the moniker for Republicans? Vote vote read. I'm not clever
- 35:14Speaker 1: enough to come with that on my own, but yeah,
- 35:16Speaker 1: I mean this is a version of what I have
- 35:18Speaker 1: heard my entire adult life is yeah, you voted for X,
- 35:24Speaker 1: Y and Z, you got D. You should be grateful
- 35:29Speaker 1: for D. Yes, and we will continue to fight for X,
- 35:34Speaker 1: Y and Z, and that's why you have to come
- 35:36Speaker 1: out and vote in the midterms. And look, I mean
- 35:39Speaker 1: if you were a died in the wole Republican, He's
- 35:41Speaker 1: not wrong, but most people are not like and that
- 35:44Speaker 1: that is the problem that these politicians.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Wells you need to win elections.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Yeah, like exactly. The coalitions who need to win elections,
- 35:50Speaker 1: by and large, you tell me if I'm wrong, are
- 35:52Speaker 1: mostly single issue Most people are not like you have
- 35:55Speaker 1: not set around a long time. You have like kind
- 35:57Speaker 1: of a vision of like how you want society, and
- 36:00Speaker 1: everything kind of stems from that. There are when people
- 36:02Speaker 1: go to the battle box, like I'm pissed off about
- 36:04Speaker 1: gas prizes, what inflation? What we just talked about. He
- 36:06Speaker 1: said he was going to lower gas prizes. Boom cool,
- 36:09Speaker 1: easy to go. AOC Trump voters who we interviewed after
- 36:12Speaker 1: the election, and the Zoron Mamdani Trump voter. Who are
- 36:15Speaker 1: those types of people? Pissed off about intervention in the
- 36:18Speaker 1: Middle East, pissed off about inflation, decide to vote Trump.
- 36:21Speaker 8: Period.
- 36:22Speaker 1: There's really not much else to the entire story, Yeah, right,
- 36:25Speaker 1: or we I think we did a segment here man
- 36:28Speaker 1: long ago about IVF, and there were I would say,
- 36:33Speaker 1: several thousand, tens of thousands Americans who voted purely because
- 36:37Speaker 1: Trump said I'm going to make IVF free. Now that
- 36:40Speaker 1: was like they genuinely A lot of people actually are
- 36:43Speaker 1: single issues. So when he says stuff like I know
- 36:45Speaker 1: a lot of people are upset about, you know, our
- 36:48Speaker 1: our policy in the Middle East. However, you can't ignore
- 36:52Speaker 1: all of these other things, I don't think he gets
- 36:54Speaker 1: that a lot of people don't care about any of that.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Like anti war. I'll tell you from me, I would say,
- 36:59Speaker 1: probably say my number one position. And when we say
- 37:02Speaker 1: anti war, obviously that's complicated, but I would say anti
- 37:05Speaker 1: regime change war in the Middle East, Can we narrowly
- 37:08Speaker 1: define it to that category? And or ending the war
- 37:11Speaker 1: because it did not change the ing good point, even
- 37:14Speaker 1: though that was the intention from the very beginning open
- 37:17Speaker 1: ended conflicts here in the Middle East. That I would
- 37:19Speaker 1: say I was probably gonna say my number one priority,
- 37:21Speaker 1: number one whenever the election came around. And I don't
- 37:26Speaker 1: think I'm alone in that. I'm hyper realistic and cynical.
- 37:29Speaker 1: I understand how political coalitions and all of that work,
- 37:32Speaker 1: But for me, and I do think also for a
- 37:35Speaker 1: lot of other people. When you were to combine that
- 37:37Speaker 1: with multiple other betrayals and or lack of promises, with
- 37:42Speaker 1: the general knowledge of the country going down the pipe,
- 37:44Speaker 1: you can't help but say, yeah, no, man, that's not
- 37:47Speaker 1: happening right now, right.
- 37:49Speaker 3: And we have some information here from Harry Enton to
- 37:51Speaker 3: get to on how people are actually reacting, because to
- 37:54Speaker 3: your point, Trump campaigned as the man who would not
- 37:58Speaker 3: be George W. Bush, saying we aren't the world's policeman,
- 38:02Speaker 3: and then very much becoming the world's policeman. Barack Obama
- 38:04Speaker 3: campaigning on hope and change and then continuing a lot
- 38:08Speaker 3: of neo conservative policies just with different framing Trump's and
- 38:14Speaker 3: we're not going to do that. I'm not going to
- 38:15Speaker 3: be like that person. I'm not going to We're just
- 38:18Speaker 3: not doing it. And so to see him doing it,
- 38:20Speaker 3: I think is going to have an added effect or
- 38:23Speaker 3: an added It will fuel the dislike or the lack
- 38:28Speaker 3: of favorability that the public has with Trump. So let's
- 38:31Speaker 3: turn it over here to Harriet and who's looking at
- 38:33Speaker 3: an average of CBSCNN and Fox News polls on Trump's numbers.
- 38:38Speaker 6: Here it's the group that helped put him in the
- 38:39Speaker 6: White House in twenty sixteen, and then again in twenty
- 38:42Speaker 6: twenty four. The group that shifted tremendously from twenty twelve
- 38:46Speaker 6: to twenty sixteen and put.
- 38:47Speaker 8: Him in the White House. We are talking about non college.
- 38:50Speaker 6: White voters, and he is sliding right into the water.
- 38:54Speaker 6: This is a rut Row moment. To quote the great
- 38:56Speaker 6: Scooby Doo. Trump's net approval rating with non college whites.
- 38:59Speaker 8: Look at that.
- 39:00Speaker 6: In February twenty twenty five, it was plus thirty two
- 39:03Speaker 6: points Downal goes, look at Johnny. Johnny is just shot
- 39:05Speaker 6: by this number. And now it is minus two points.
- 39:08Speaker 6: That is a thirty four point shift.
- 39:10Speaker 8: And I will note this is an average Polese. This
- 39:12Speaker 8: is not just one pole.
- 39:13Speaker 6: I've averaged three different polls here, three big posters.
- 39:17Speaker 8: And what we see.
- 39:18Speaker 6: Is Donald Trump actually underwater.
- 39:20Speaker 8: With non college whites, who of course put him in
- 39:22Speaker 8: the White House. A really moment.
- 39:24Speaker 6: Yes, really, Johnny, Let's talk about the economy. It's the economy,
- 39:28Speaker 6: smarty when I'm talking with mister burnmon, just take a
- 39:31Speaker 6: look here, I mean again, look at this on the economy.
- 39:33Speaker 8: Is net approval rating non college traits?
- 39:35Speaker 6: You go back to February twenty twenty five, he was
- 39:37Speaker 6: twenty six points above water.
- 39:39Speaker 8: Look at this.
- 39:39Speaker 6: Shift minus fifteen points, fifteen points underwater with non college whites.
- 39:45Speaker 8: When it comes to Donald Trump's net.
- 39:47Speaker 6: Approval rating on the economy, that is an over forty
- 39:51Speaker 6: point shift away from the president with a key core.
- 39:55Speaker 8: Group of his ret row.
- 39:57Speaker 1: What about the war?
- 39:58Speaker 8: What about the war while the warring helped but him?
- 40:00Speaker 6: Because just take a look here, non college whites and
- 40:02Speaker 6: that approval rating of US military action against Iran minus
- 40:05Speaker 6: five points.
- 40:06Speaker 8: You think that slow? Come over to this side of
- 40:08Speaker 8: the screen.
- 40:08Speaker 6: How about Trump on I run minus thirteen points are
- 40:11Speaker 6: very unlucky thirteen Indeed, for the president of the United
- 40:14Speaker 6: States with a key core group of his it turns
- 40:17Speaker 6: out he's ailing a lot of folks with this war,
- 40:19Speaker 6: not just the popes. Let's talk about a state that
- 40:22Speaker 6: Barack Obama won in twenty twelve and Donald Trump has
- 40:25Speaker 6: won easily in twenty sixteen, twenty twenty, and twenty twenty four.
- 40:29Speaker 8: How about the Great Buckeye State, the state.
- 40:31Speaker 6: Of Ohio, where, of course Sherr Brown is the likely
- 40:33Speaker 6: Democratic nominee. Take a look here, chance that the Dems
- 40:36Speaker 6: win the Ohio Senate race. According to the cash prediction
- 40:38Speaker 6: market on John one, it was a thirty seven percent yans.
- 40:41Speaker 8: Not too bad.
- 40:42Speaker 6: You come over to this side of the screen up
- 40:44Speaker 6: like a rocket, up to sixty percent chance And in fact,
- 40:47Speaker 6: the Democrats win the Ohio Senate race, which of course
- 40:50Speaker 6: was the state that Donald Trump won by double digits
- 40:52Speaker 6: under two years ago.
- 40:53Speaker 8: Donald Trump's chances are sliding.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Sorry, those numbers are unbeliev I mean, they're believable.
- 40:59Speaker 1: I just I disavow his inclusion of Calciodds there though.
- 41:03Speaker 3: Yes, course of course that's shame on you for doing so,
- 41:06Speaker 3: but thank you for saying that. Yes, but nine college whites.
- 41:10Speaker 3: When Trump put up that famous graphic, They're not coming
- 41:13Speaker 3: after me, They're coming after you, and I'm.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Just in the way.
- 41:16Speaker 3: That's really who he was talking about in his base,
- 41:18Speaker 3: people who feel disempowered. And I think that's why, as
- 41:22Speaker 3: we were just talking about, this is going to plunge.
- 41:24Speaker 3: It's not just pure disagreement, it's also what feels to
- 41:28Speaker 3: people like a total visceral breach of trust. It's like
- 41:32Speaker 3: a breach of contract situation where he told them X,
- 41:35Speaker 3: Y and Z. There listen, Andrew Schultz and Rogan. He
- 41:40Speaker 3: said to their faces, no new wars, and they picked
- 41:43Speaker 3: up on that. Yes, of course, going back thirty years,
- 41:45Speaker 3: he's been hawkish on Iran. But when you combine those
- 41:49Speaker 3: two things, to the average American, they thought he was
- 41:52Speaker 3: just going to be so hawkish peace through strength, we
- 41:55Speaker 3: didn't get into a war with Iran.
- 41:57Speaker 1: There's a difference between being quote hawkish and prem bombingcover
- 42:02Speaker 1: of diplomacy. There's actually a massive difference. Also also without
- 42:06Speaker 1: the approval of Congress. And look, politics is ultimately a
- 42:10Speaker 1: game of it's a zero sum game, and especially the
- 42:14Speaker 1: public's attention. And that's why the economy piece here, we
- 42:17Speaker 1: just did a whole thing on inflation. We haven't had
- 42:20Speaker 1: the time to cover it as much in detail as
- 42:22Speaker 1: we would want to. Why because there's a damn war
- 42:25Speaker 1: going off, right, so what does it? And look, that's
- 42:27Speaker 1: literally life or death that affect everything. So I don't
- 42:30Speaker 1: even begrudge us for not covering it. But that's how
- 42:32Speaker 1: the political attention works too. So you wanted all of
- 42:35Speaker 1: this no tax on trips tips news cycle that came
- 42:38Speaker 1: out from yesterday, What did you get? The only clips
- 42:41Speaker 1: that came out of that press conference. We're on the war.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Same with Maria Bartrimo. It's all on the war. If
- 42:46Speaker 1: you turn on the news, if you are you know,
- 42:48Speaker 1: even remotely engage, all you see is war, war, war, war, war,
- 42:52Speaker 1: and every day that the war is going on, and
- 42:55Speaker 1: the attention of the policymakers on the war. It's not
- 42:57Speaker 1: on you, and it's definitely not on the issues. It's
- 43:00Speaker 1: only issues you care about. It's actively making it worse
- 43:02Speaker 1: for where things are today. So that's why it is
- 43:05Speaker 1: a totality of a total disaster.
- 43:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, again, I forget who pointed this out,
- 43:09Speaker 3: but it's so obvious. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris basically
- 43:13Speaker 3: lost that election over immigration and inflation. So the Trump
- 43:16Speaker 3: administration is very confident about having closed to the border,
- 43:19Speaker 3: but if inflation then goes up, and you were the
- 43:22Speaker 3: anti inflation guy, also the anti war guy. Arguably, Boy,
- 43:27Speaker 3: you are in an especially tough.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Because and they'd already lost the country on immigration long
- 43:31Speaker 1: before this entire war even is the problem. And so yeah, look,
- 43:35Speaker 1: I mean they're belligerence and confidence and just destroyed the project.
- 43:39Speaker 1: I don't know, if you've been watching have you seen
- 43:41Speaker 1: Tom Steyer and his new platform. Yes, yeah, I mean
- 43:44Speaker 1: that's the realit. That's the future now, Okay, that is
- 43:47Speaker 1: the future they've created. Now, will we eventually swing back? Yeah,
- 43:50Speaker 1: I hope so after I read some stuff like that,
- 43:53Speaker 1: but you know, I read that conservatives are outraged. I'm like,
- 43:55Speaker 1: you guys created this, like in the same way that
- 43:58Speaker 1: you know how liberals are like pearling over mass deportation.
- 44:01Speaker 1: I'm like, yo, that's on you. Okay, you guys let
- 44:03Speaker 1: the border open. You created a situation where a candidate
- 44:06Speaker 1: could stand in front of that sign and then win
- 44:09Speaker 1: the popular vote in the next election. The thing works
- 44:12Speaker 1: both ways whenever it comes to the pendulum, all right,
- 44:15Speaker 1: So don't be complaining. Whenever you see Tom Syer, what
- 44:18Speaker 1: do you say, he's like, taxpayer funded and basically legalizing
- 44:21Speaker 1: every illegal in all the state of California. I'm like, yeah,
- 44:25Speaker 1: you know, I knew this was gonna happen, and that's
- 44:28Speaker 1: on you at the end of the day. That's so true.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Let's put the next one up here. Israel is such
- 44:33Speaker 1: a big, big part of this. Here is Harry Enton
- 44:37Speaker 1: breaking it down the under fifty men and their support
- 44:41Speaker 1: for Israel.
- 44:42Speaker 8: Let's take a listen, they have very much shifted away
- 44:44Speaker 8: from Israel.
- 44:45Speaker 6: Look at this net favorability of Israel among men under
- 44:48Speaker 6: the age of fifty in twenty twenty two. Not too bad,
- 44:51Speaker 6: but not too hot to trot either, at minus three points.
- 44:54Speaker 6: By twenty twenty five, again down we go minus twenty
- 44:57Speaker 6: two points. That is just that is a nineteen points
- 45:00Speaker 6: shift in just three years time. But it gets even worse.
- 45:03Speaker 6: Look at this for Israel minus forty seven points. That's
- 45:06Speaker 6: a forty four point shift away from Israel on the
- 45:09Speaker 6: net favorability amongst young men, who of course shifted massively
- 45:13Speaker 6: into the Republican column back in twenty twenty four, and
- 45:16Speaker 6: they have been shifting away from Israel over the last
- 45:18Speaker 6: four years.
- 45:19Speaker 1: So what do you what do you take away from
- 45:21Speaker 1: that about you know, it's like, I don't know, it's
- 45:25Speaker 1: like the White House. And this is where JD is
- 45:27Speaker 1: a little bit too self aware. He has to hug
- 45:30Speaker 1: the president, but he can you know, you can read
- 45:32Speaker 1: whenever it comes to this Israeli favorability, he's in the
- 45:35Speaker 1: Zeit guess he actually, you know, he's online enough to
- 45:38Speaker 1: see like this is a real problem. And you can
- 45:41Speaker 1: all see like this and again for all the talk,
- 45:44Speaker 1: what do we hear from the neo khon Pro Israel
- 45:47Speaker 1: podcasters podcast that's not representative? Every well? Is that representative? Okay?
- 45:52Speaker 1: What does that tell you in terms of So yeah,
- 45:54Speaker 1: they may not be self identified Republicans anymore. They were
- 45:57Speaker 1: at some pot or they cast their vote for Tom.
- 46:00Speaker 3: By the way, when they talk about that, they're just
- 46:01Speaker 3: talking about podcasts they don't like, right, right, They're not
- 46:04Speaker 3: talking about Dan Bongino.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Right, So they use podcasts as a.
- 46:07Speaker 3: Slur for Dave, but they don't use it for Dave Smith,
- 46:10Speaker 3: but not for Dan Bongino.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and also what is Bongino's Look, you know, not
- 46:14Speaker 1: to get into a ratings pissing contest, but like let's
- 46:16Speaker 1: be honest here, all right, in terms of the national
- 46:18Speaker 1: I set you up for that, Yeah, Like yeah, I'm
- 46:20Speaker 1: just look, I don't usually do that, but like, let's
- 46:22Speaker 1: take a look at the charts. Brother, We're not number one,
- 46:24Speaker 1: but we're definitely not number ninety or something like that.
- 46:27Speaker 3: But I just want to say, Ezra Klin had this
- 46:28Speaker 3: very controversial column last week about Hassan Piker.
- 46:31Speaker 1: But you're dragging me in. No, no, no, let's go I'm
- 46:34Speaker 1: actually not this is I promise.
- 46:36Speaker 3: There was a paragraph in it that I thought made
- 46:40Speaker 3: a point very well that gets to this polling.
- 46:44Speaker 4: Right.
- 46:44Speaker 3: So there's panic about this polling because it seems like
- 46:46Speaker 3: every week we're getting polls just like that. And people
- 46:49Speaker 3: who are upset that Israel is losing support in the
- 46:53Speaker 3: United States blame Hassan Piker, they blame the quote podcasters,
- 46:58Speaker 3: they blame anti Semitism and bigotry, and that's what they
- 47:01Speaker 3: point to. Ezra Klein wrote, quote, this is not the
- 47:05Speaker 3: result of an international syop or a profusion of memes.
- 47:08Speaker 3: The Israel that young people know is not the Israel
- 47:10Speaker 3: that older people remember. It responded to the savagery of
- 47:13Speaker 3: October seventh by flattening Gaza in a brutal campaign that
- 47:16Speaker 3: killed at least seventy thousand Gosins, taking control of more
- 47:18Speaker 3: than half of the territory, and hurting Gosins more than
- 47:20Speaker 3: two million people into the remainder. He goes on and on.
- 47:23Speaker 3: The Kinessa just voted to legalize hanging as a punishment
- 47:26Speaker 3: for Palestinians who are convicted of killing Israelis and terrorist attacks,
- 47:29Speaker 3: settler violence, et cetera. That's The point for this is
- 47:34Speaker 3: the substance, right, if you want to actually explain why
- 47:36Speaker 3: the polls are moving, media has been democratized, and Israel
- 47:40Speaker 3: is that we just went through this brutal, several year
- 47:45Speaker 3: long post October seventh war that people saw in this
- 47:48Speaker 3: democratized media. So you cannot continue to just blame this
- 47:53Speaker 3: will we will be sitting here a year from now
- 47:55Speaker 3: looking at numbers that are even worse if people don't
- 47:58Speaker 3: reckon with Ezrarote that.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think there's several ways to disapproval of Israel.
- 48:02Speaker 1: So like for the left, a lot of it is
- 48:04Speaker 1: just like purely on moral grounds, which is fine. Yeah,
- 48:07Speaker 1: but you for me, you know, I went to Israel.
- 48:09Speaker 1: I was like, oh, it's nice. You know, I liked
- 48:10Speaker 1: to a few things made me uncomfortable. I was like, yeah,
- 48:13Speaker 1: it's a little weird. Are you're getting roastally profiled? You're like, okay,
- 48:17Speaker 1: when it started on society, so be it. You know,
- 48:19Speaker 1: you do what you want to do, you come back
- 48:21Speaker 1: over here. You don't really think about it. There was
- 48:23Speaker 1: no real reason I wouldn't say question it. I was
- 48:25Speaker 1: just like, you know, I never all this stuff about
- 48:27Speaker 1: like worshiping Israel always made me super uncomfortable, but I
- 48:31Speaker 1: didn't have any connection to it. And then you would say,
- 48:33Speaker 1: like one thing I remember the first time it ever
- 48:36Speaker 1: happened to me was we I think we did a
- 48:38Speaker 1: segment here. It was like, back in twenty twenty one,
- 48:40Speaker 1: Israel like flatten some apartment building in Gaza, and I
- 48:43Speaker 1: was like, hey, you know, that doesn't seem cool because
- 48:46Speaker 1: we're giving weapons. And also, just so everybody knows, the
- 48:48Speaker 1: George W. Bush administration used to criticize Israel for flattening buildings,
- 48:52Speaker 1: so that's fine, you know, I was like, this seems
- 48:55Speaker 1: totally acceptable. Oh my god. That was the first time
- 48:57Speaker 1: I was like, oh boy, and I said, did you
- 48:59Speaker 1: just listen what I said? I said, the George W.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Bush administration. But that was you know, that's the that's
- 49:04Speaker 1: when I first encountered this brigade, and I was like, wow,
- 49:07Speaker 1: these are some of the nastiest people on the plane.
- 49:10Speaker 1: I no longer care at all. And you know, there's
- 49:11Speaker 1: an entire army is twenty twenty one years ago, and
- 49:15Speaker 1: I'm sure you found this as well. Like at a
- 49:17Speaker 1: certain point, you just have to stop caring because there's
- 49:19Speaker 1: an entire army and people who are like dedicated to
- 49:22Speaker 1: taking down you're in my character like on a daily basis,
- 49:26Speaker 1: and you're like, wow, you know, first of all, you're
- 49:28Speaker 1: obviously you know, somebody's paying you for something, and I
- 49:31Speaker 1: don't even think we're all that relevant in.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Terms of you don't even need to get the money
- 49:36Speaker 3: right or.
- 49:36Speaker 1: They're just so delusiable. But what they don't realize is that,
- 49:39Speaker 1: like you know, for people like us who are financially
- 49:41Speaker 1: outside of the system, I'm like, look, I'm just gonna
- 49:43Speaker 1: keep going. You know, at this point, now I'm in
- 49:45Speaker 1: you've tried to destroy all of my relationships, and I
- 49:48Speaker 1: think that is how it has worked for a significant number.
- 49:51Speaker 1: And we've seen it with Megan, We've seen it with Tucker.
- 49:52Speaker 1: We're just talking about the right. On the left, the
- 49:54Speaker 1: same cleavage has happened. We actually have this. This is
- 49:57Speaker 1: fascinating from before to be fair, this from J Street.
- 50:01Speaker 1: J Street, How would you describe J Street? Like it's
- 50:04Speaker 1: like a liberal quasi Zionists.
- 50:08Speaker 3: It's very hard like it's a progressive alternative to apac right.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Mac you can chime in here, give us a lefty
- 50:13Speaker 1: perspective apac Ape right because they describe themselves as like
- 50:17Speaker 1: a pro Israel, pro peace democracy, but it has long
- 50:21Speaker 1: held like a very weird position of like liberal Zionism
- 50:24Speaker 1: on college campuses, like as a counter to a pack,
- 50:27Speaker 1: and it seems I don't really know what to make
- 50:29Speaker 1: of them. But regardless, here's what they say. Forty percent
- 50:32Speaker 1: of American Jewish voters say that they are less likely
- 50:35Speaker 1: to support a Democratic primary candidate if they've been endorsed
- 50:39Speaker 1: by APAK. Two thirds thirds oppose a pack spending money
- 50:43Speaker 1: raised by Republican donors and Democratic primers, according to this
- 50:46Speaker 1: new polling released by j Street. Keep that in mind,
- 50:49Speaker 1: of course, that it's coming from this group who, as
- 50:51Speaker 1: I understand it, is really trying to, you know, navigate
- 50:54Speaker 1: these difficult waters of like maintaining Israel's quote right to exist,
- 50:58Speaker 1: which is a ridiculous term, but also trying to navigate
- 51:01Speaker 1: like democratic politics. Nonetheless, when you say forty percent of
- 51:05Speaker 1: Jewish voters say that they're less likely to support a
- 51:08Speaker 1: primary candidate endorsed by APAC, who's a pack really working
- 51:10Speaker 1: for all? Right? Because they try to conflate all Israeli
- 51:13Speaker 1: criticism with Jews. And then if you criticize a pack
- 51:16Speaker 1: they say that's anti semitic. Well, by that definition, a
- 51:19Speaker 1: bunch of American Jews are anti Semitic, but you're not
- 51:21Speaker 1: supposed to actually dig too deep into any well no,
- 51:24Speaker 1: but they would say, yes, oh yeah, yeah, is that
- 51:26Speaker 1: they are it? Yesh, yeah, okay, all right, makes a
- 51:28Speaker 1: lot of sense.
- 51:29Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 51:29Speaker 1: I don't know. The entire thing just seems it just
- 51:32Speaker 1: seems like preposterous and obviously falling apart like on its
- 51:38Speaker 1: own logic. But that maybe is the point of this
- 51:41Speaker 1: entire thing. So take it for what you will. The
- 51:44Speaker 1: vice presidents please, and warning to young voters to not
- 51:47Speaker 1: leave something that's just you know, I'm only thirty three.
- 51:51Speaker 1: I'm going to turn thirty four next week. I have
- 51:54Speaker 1: literally heard that from a politician every you know, every
- 51:58Speaker 1: single election cycle, like yeah, but you just got to
- 52:00Speaker 1: vote a little bit more, a little bit harder to
- 52:03Speaker 1: get you And there's some truth to it, like at
- 52:05Speaker 1: a bigger level, but you know, I just feel like
- 52:08Speaker 1: people are sick of it. Like when you have so
- 52:09Speaker 1: many years of people not delivering on make like big
- 52:13Speaker 1: flagship oocuses, you're just like, I don't care anymore, you know,
- 52:16Speaker 1: at the end of the day, Trump was shocked to
- 52:17Speaker 1: the system. You didn't shock it. You've made it stronger
- 52:20Speaker 1: than ever. I'm like, no, I'm out.
- 52:22Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 52:23Speaker 3: If people think Trump is bad, it's going to get
- 52:25Speaker 3: worse because it should be like Trump should have been
- 52:27Speaker 3: a message because people voted for him to do something different.
- 52:31Speaker 3: He's continuing to do the same thing. What's going to
- 52:33Speaker 3: come after Trump will be worse if you don't address
- 52:36Speaker 3: the underlying concerns of the populists who put him into office.
- 52:40Speaker 3: Freaking healthcare, like do something, do something, it's crazy. Inflation
- 52:46Speaker 3: actually getting worse, I mean, over and over again, just
- 52:49Speaker 3: a disaster. We could put this last element up on
- 52:50Speaker 3: the screen from the Associated Press. Trump promised tax relief,
- 52:54Speaker 3: but polling shows most Americans still think they're overpaying.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Yes, apps, yeah, you said that. And it's very important
- 53:01Speaker 1: because when people say here, you say we're overtaxed. You're
- 53:03Speaker 1: saying that the system overall is overtaxed, but that a
- 53:07Speaker 1: select group are dramatically undertaxed, and that's why the rest
- 53:11Speaker 1: of us are all over tax That's the stuff that
- 53:14Speaker 1: drives me insane, Like we're a small business here, we
- 53:18Speaker 1: spend inordinate amount of money on tax compliance and all
- 53:22Speaker 1: this other bullshit. Frankly, like if you think you're just
- 53:24Speaker 1: prepping the show is easy. Like I would take this
- 53:27Speaker 1: any day compared to all of the nonsense that we
- 53:30Speaker 1: have to deal with behind the scenes. But I know
- 53:33Speaker 1: for a fact, based on all of this compliance and
- 53:36Speaker 1: that there are ultra wealthy hedge funds and venture capitalists
- 53:40Speaker 1: out there who do the same thing but use it
- 53:43Speaker 1: to save crazy amounts of money on the carried interest
- 53:46Speaker 1: loophole and all of this other like crazy tax manipulation
- 53:51Speaker 1: with the IR Yeah, the ie roth IRA like buying
- 53:54Speaker 1: stock stuff where you know, it's it's frankly, it's legendary
- 53:56Speaker 1: for a retirement. But yeah, I should obviously be lee.
- 53:59Speaker 1: It's it's preposterous. It's preposterous. Somebody could have five billion
- 54:02Speaker 1: dollars no tax or the amount of loopholes that exist,
- 54:06Speaker 1: you know at the point oh one percent or point
- 54:07Speaker 1: oh two percent tax bracket, while what is it? You know,
- 54:10Speaker 1: the average person is just throwing money away in these
- 54:13Speaker 1: in these fight at taxes, praying that one day they're
- 54:16Speaker 1: going to get their Social Security and.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Then they get audited and they have to spend right,
- 54:20Speaker 3: and then they get audited and three.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Thousand dollars fighting and audit. We could go on forever,
- 54:24Speaker 1: like in terms of the tax system, so like, yeah,
- 54:26Speaker 1: while I do, I think it's good. You know, no
- 54:28Speaker 1: tax on tips and all this stuff. It scratches the
- 54:30Speaker 1: surface exactly for where things are even in Fiica caps.
- 54:33Speaker 1: You know, you ever look at that and you think
- 54:34Speaker 1: of and you know, I get it. It's annoying and
- 54:36Speaker 1: people get upset about it. But when we talk about,
- 54:38Speaker 1: nobody's ever like, hey, should we raise the cap on FIKA?
- 54:40Speaker 1: You know, I mean the CAP's been there for years, right,
- 54:42Speaker 1: like what what is it? One sixty eight something like that,
- 54:45Speaker 1: two fifty making plenty of money in two fifty yea,
- 54:48Speaker 1: most people are what percent of Americans are even making that?
- 54:51Speaker 1: Nobody even thinks about that. And of course those people
- 54:54Speaker 1: would riot because they feel poor because that's how bad
- 54:57Speaker 1: the economy is right now. So I get it from
- 54:59Speaker 1: their perspective. But yeah, we've just got to figure out
- 55:02Speaker 1: a way. You know, these people who are rolling around
- 55:04Speaker 1: other ten to fifteen million dollars a year, who have
- 55:07Speaker 1: done everything to rewrite the tax code, like they pay
- 55:10Speaker 1: nothing in comparison to the average you know, actual wage earner.
- 55:15Speaker 1: The WT earner at this point is the most screwed
- 55:17Speaker 1: person on the planet. Oh yeah, yeah, like literally, because
- 55:19Speaker 1: if you're if you are a waiter, then you get
- 55:21Speaker 1: no tax on tips, and if you are a business owner,
- 55:24Speaker 1: you have some things that you can work through. But
- 55:27Speaker 1: if you're just some W two guy out there, you
- 55:29Speaker 1: got nothing. You're doing everything right and you're getting screwed.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Left it right, yeah.
- 55:33Speaker 3: And you then wait, wait until those people don't get
- 55:36Speaker 3: their Social Security I mean seriously, I always say the
- 55:38Speaker 3: enduring image of second Trump term, and maybe Trump's entire
- 55:41Speaker 3: political career, is his second inauguration where he has all
- 55:45Speaker 3: of these like billionaires behind him, and at the time,
- 55:49Speaker 3: the image he's trying to project is I have conquered you.
- 55:52Speaker 3: You hated me. I have conquered you.
- 55:54Speaker 1: You are now my minion.
- 55:55Speaker 3: But I think to a lot of voters that image
- 55:58Speaker 3: illustrates the opposite, that he was conquered by them. So
- 56:03Speaker 3: that's a huge problem for him going forward if people
- 56:07Speaker 3: keep feeling this inflation going up.
- 56:09Speaker 1: War I mean, good luck. Let's get to Europe before
- 56:15Speaker 1: we hit all of the guests that we have lined
- 56:18Speaker 1: up for everybody. So let's start here with Italy. Let's
- 56:20Speaker 1: put this up here on the screen. Donald Trump says
- 56:23Speaker 1: that Georgia Maloney lacks courage. Now, what in God's name
- 56:27Speaker 1: could this man be talking about, they say, Doronald Trump
- 56:30Speaker 1: is slammed his erstwhile alli Georgia Maloney over her support
- 56:33Speaker 1: for Pope Leo and Rome's refusal to allow US warplanes
- 56:37Speaker 1: involved in the attack on Iran. However, in a new
- 56:40Speaker 1: interview telephone interview with the Italian newspaper, the President accused
- 56:44Speaker 1: the Italian premiere of cowardice because of her comments whenever
- 56:48Speaker 1: it came to his beef with the Pope. He says,
- 56:51Speaker 1: your prime minister is doing nothing to get oil. I'm
- 56:54Speaker 1: shocked by her. I thought she had courage, but I
- 56:57Speaker 1: was wrong. Spokesperson from Loney's off declined comment. Trump's attack
- 57:02Speaker 1: comes less than twenty four hours after Maloney said the
- 57:05Speaker 1: President's attack on Pope Leo was quote unacceptable, and he
- 57:09Speaker 1: lashed out at the Pontiff on Sunday night, saying he
- 57:12Speaker 1: was weak and terrible. Others are saying that when asked
- 57:16Speaker 1: about Mlanie's Maloney's comment, Trump told the Italian paper, it
- 57:20Speaker 1: is her who is unacceptable. Now, why is Trump having
- 57:24Speaker 1: such beef with the Italian Prime Minister. It's not just
- 57:27Speaker 1: over all of this with the Pope. There's a lot
- 57:30Speaker 1: of underlying tension over Iran and Israel. So let's put
- 57:34Speaker 1: c two up there on the screen. Because this came
- 57:36Speaker 1: on the very same day Italy has suspended defense packs
- 57:39Speaker 1: with Israel, further straining ties. The move by Italy, once
- 57:42Speaker 1: considered a quote strong ally of Israel, reflected growing anger
- 57:46Speaker 1: over Israeli aggression in the Middle East, and Trump openly
- 57:49Speaker 1: criticized Italy's stands on the war. There is a two
- 57:53Speaker 1: thousand and five Defense Accord that was ratified between the
- 57:56Speaker 1: Italians and between the Israelis quote cooperation between the two
- 58:00Speaker 1: countries in the area of defense industry, procurement policy, importing,
- 58:03Speaker 1: exporting military equipment, exchanging technical data, and other forms of
- 58:07Speaker 1: military collaboration. It has been renewed every five years and
- 58:10Speaker 1: was set for another renewal as of this month. However,
- 58:14Speaker 1: opposition parties have put pressure on the government for over
- 58:17Speaker 1: a year to suspend the renewal, and Marco Grimaldi, the
- 58:20Speaker 1: opposition lawmaker, said the decision was a victory for those
- 58:24Speaker 1: who had protested Israel's military offensive in Gaza. Over the
- 58:27Speaker 1: last three years. So this is a real break not
- 58:29Speaker 1: only for the Italians with Israel, but with the United States,
- 58:33Speaker 1: and huge never thought I'd be sitting here white knighting
- 58:36Speaker 1: for Italy all right in Europe, as people know my
- 58:40Speaker 1: feelings on the continent and of the many American tourists
- 58:44Speaker 1: who choose to go there over literally anywhere else. But
- 58:47Speaker 1: it is what it is. Oh, this is yours take? Well, oh,
- 58:51Speaker 1: my worst take is that people should go anywhere else
- 58:54Speaker 1: go to Italy. Yeah, the go to Italy so that
- 58:55Speaker 1: you can hang out with other people from like San Francisco. Yeah,
- 58:58Speaker 1: that's smart. Let's go sit in in a cafe in
- 59:01Speaker 1: order it spaghetti, all right, Yeah, phenomenon anyway, and make
- 59:05Speaker 1: that my ring done? Yeagetty Okay. So coming back, what
- 59:10Speaker 1: we do know at the very least is that Europe
- 59:13Speaker 1: and a lot of these nationalist leaders. So we've seen
- 59:15Speaker 1: the AFT in Germany, We've seen now Maloney, we have
- 59:18Speaker 1: seen Hungary and even this new leader in Hungary, Magyar.
- 59:22Speaker 1: All of them are charting their own course, right, And
- 59:26Speaker 1: I think what people misunderstand about, particularly Trump, is when
- 59:29Speaker 1: Trump says we have a nationalist alliance, I don't think
- 59:31Speaker 1: I understand what the word nationalist means. Nationalist needs putting
- 59:34Speaker 1: your own country's interest first. And so these are actually
- 59:37Speaker 1: the exact type of leaders who are like, hey, man,
- 59:39Speaker 1: you're creating a problem for me, and so if you
- 59:41Speaker 1: create a problem for me, I'm just not going to
- 59:44Speaker 1: join you in continuing that. I have to look out
- 59:46Speaker 1: for my own nations politics. And remember, with Italy you
- 59:50Speaker 1: have huge US bases. There a lot of Africom assets
- 59:53Speaker 1: I know that are used from Italian American Italian American
- 59:58Speaker 1: bases in Italy. Also, of course Italy, you know pretty
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: vital I would say member of NATO, not from a
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: defense perspective, the geographically in terms of where they are
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: in the alliance. Of course, they have massive economic and
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: defense problems. So I'll put that to the side. But
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: the point remains that generally, if you were to ask
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: yourself who's more important, Again, this is coming from the
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: guy who doesn't even like it Europe. If you were
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: to ask me who's more important Italy or Israel? Who
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: am I picking? Okay, whenever it comes to that one,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: And again that's coming from me. So you can see
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: how this break and this total alliance with Israel, has
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: now fractured critical alliances with Korea, with Japan, with the UK,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: with Australia, with it like, why would we do this?
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: And you know, I am an advocate of more relations
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: and better alliances with Asia, much more so over Europe.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: But he even even here, just to look very rationally,
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: why would you choose the interest of this small country
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: which keeps dragging us into all of these conflicts and
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: is fracturing our alliances and is destroyed our honor and
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: our moral character. Over all of these other countries which
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: we have long standing and good relationships with, at times overbalanced,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: but still you know, they still net out a little
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: bit in the US favor if we wanted to. It's
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: just it seems like madness to me and nobody. Everybody
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: just seems to be totally okay with this, right from
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: the pro Israel side here in America. I just don't
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: get it. He doesn't have to pick these fights either.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: I mean, I think that's what's extra ridiculous is that
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: he can. And your point about the nationalism is important
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: because there is a wave of nationalism, and you see
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: it even among some leftist leaders like Shanbaum in Mexico,
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: who is constantly hammering their own sovereignty. What they're most
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: sensitive about, and actually even Mark Carney, somebody who's center left,
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: what they're most sensitive about is the United States appearing
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: to encroach on their sovereignty and then them looking to
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: their voters like they've allowed their sovereignty to be encroached upon.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: And that is a nationalist. They might not call it that,
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: but it really is actually nationalism. And so yes, you know,
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: there's there. There's been much written about how Trump has
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: undermined other kind of right wing nationalists and the causes,
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: whether it's whether it's Pauliev or perhaps now this is
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: a boost to believe.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: Screw them, Yeah, absolutely screwed them. Yeah. In Canada, it's shocking.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: I listened to that guy, Pierre. How do you say?
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: I'll choose not to say it, but I had to
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: ask a French professor, did you get it right?
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: Really?
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: Is he is?
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: He? Quebec Quebecquah? Oh all right, I know that he
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: likes I have a long stand beef with the Quebecua
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: and you have a long standing beef with the Quebecquah.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: I can't stand him, can't stand him sorry, sorry to
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: they know about this beef. I think so. I mentioned
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: here before I said I never want anex Canada because
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: I don't want quebecquah, I don't want so. I want Australia.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: This is my new thing. I think I like it.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: I like it all right, C three, let's put it
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: up here on the screen. This is inside of Israel. Yeah,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: you're lapede. Italy's decision to spend the security cooperation agreement
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: with Israel is yet another embarrassing failure of the Prime
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: Minister and of the non existent Foreign Minister. Maloney is
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: not a left wing progressive European leader. She's in the
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: right wing conservative camp and understands the need to fight terrorism.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: The government has failed to advance Israel's interests, even in
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: the face of people who are supposed to be friends,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: in our natural allies. So this is from the Israeli
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: you know opposition here, by the way, people who support
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: the war. So it's not like these are some you know,
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: blue haired leftists in Tel Aviv. This are inside of Israel.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: They're recognizing how much of a problem this is. This
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: is also a bigger problem with Europe. Now, let's be
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: clear with Europe. These are you know, complete and total
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: slaves at a legal level to Israel. They have all
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: of these BDS laws they arrest people for. Like if
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: you think it's bad in America, it's way worse in
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Germany and in France, where the critician basically criminalizing any
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Palestinian protests, but even for them. Right, let's put C
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: four up here on the screen. You have this, You
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: have this new tweet from the Chancellor of Germany. He says,
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: I am deeply concerned about developments in the Palestinian territories.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: In my phone call with the Prime Minister net Yahoo,
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: I made it clear there must be no de facto
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: annexation of the West Bank. So this was responded to
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: by the Israelis in a shocking manner. Let's put C
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: five up here, So this is smow Trich, right Israeli minister.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: He says, on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day, the
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: German Chancellor should bow his head and apologize a thousand
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: times on behalf of Germany, rather than daring to preach
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: morality on us on how to conduct ourselves against the
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: Nazis of our generation who murdered, raped, slaughtered and burned women,
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: the elderly, and children in the most horrific massa are
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: perpetuated against the Jewish people since the Terrible Holocaust. We
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: will not accept instructions from the hippocritical leaders in Europe,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: a continent that is once again losing its conscience and
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: ability to distinguish between good and evil. Mister Chancellor, the
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: days when Germans dictated to Jews where they are permitted
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: or forbid to live are over and shall not return.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: You will not force us into our ghettos again, certainly
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: not in our own land. Our return to the land
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: of Israel, our biblical and historical homeland, is the answer
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: to anyone who tried or tries to destroy us, and
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: we do not apologize for it a single moment. Now,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: let's remember this is only in response to something that
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: says I am concerned about developments in the Palastinian territories.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: I made it clear there must be no de facto
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: annexation of the West Bank. That's what that was in
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: response to. All right, So, all right, you could draw
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: your own conclusions about how unhinged their society is.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: Right now, But again it just goes back to what
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: we were talking about in the polling block, and how
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: if like none of this is grappling with what just
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: happened in the last several years that turned people away
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: from supporting Israel and saying that they're supportive of Israel,
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: there's actually a better way. They're not even making their
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: argument in a way that's going to help them. They're
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: making an argument in a way that is going to
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: hurt them in the long run. So it's not even
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: that doesn't even have to be the way that it is,
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: Like you could actually try to treat people as rational
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: actors and say, huh, I'm not dismissing you as a
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: bigot or an idiot who's been brainwashed by podcasters and TikTok.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: I actually want to deal with your concerns because I
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: believe that you're a rational actor.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: But no,
