- 0:05Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:08Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:12Speaker 1: Amy Torber and coming up on today's show, Tammy Hembrough
- 0:15Speaker 1: returns to YouTube with a.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Behind the scenes look at her marriage breakdown.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Sky Wheatley poses as her manager amid advertising complaints and
- 0:24Speaker 1: Matt Sikowsky's Love Island secrets.
- 0:27Speaker 3: But first, OG.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Travel blogger Lauren Bullen has sparked breakup rumors after unfollowing
- 0:32Speaker 1: her baby daddy Liam on Instagram. The social media diss
- 0:35Speaker 1: comes just months after the pair celebrated their daughter's first
- 0:39Speaker 1: birthday together. Before we get into it, Kate, can you
- 0:42Speaker 1: bring listeners up to speed with who Lauren Bullen is?
- 0:44Speaker 3: Well, she's probably better known by her Instagram handle Gypsy Lust,
- 0:47Speaker 3: and she's attracted almost 2 million Instagram followers by sharing
- 0:51Speaker 3: very aesthetically pleasing snaps from her travels. She actually set
- 0:55Speaker 3: up her home base in Bali years ago, but she
- 0:57Speaker 3: returns to Australia quite often to visit her identical twin sister,
- 1:01Speaker 3: Ellie Watson. So Ellie Watson also is an influencer in
- 1:05Speaker 3: her own right. She's better known by her Instagram handle,
- 1:08Speaker 3: Elsa's Wholesome Life, and she has 652,000 followers on Instagram.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I remember I actually used to follow Elsa and I'd
- 1:16Speaker 3: always heard of this gypsy lust. But I'd never put
- 1:19Speaker 3: two and two together and realised that they were twin sisters.
- 1:21Speaker 3: And I remember when Lauren appeared in one of Ellie's
- 1:23Speaker 3: vlogs and my mind was blown. I was like, oh,
- 1:25Speaker 3: is that Gypsy Lust? I'd heard so much about her
- 1:27Speaker 3: and that they're twins. It's just bizarre.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Well, Lauren really was that OG influencer, wasn't she? I
- 1:31Speaker 1: remember back in the day trying to get her on
- 1:33Speaker 1: a story for Today Tonight when I worked there. And
- 1:36Speaker 1: my boss was so out of touch with social media.
- 1:38Speaker 1: He's like, no one knows who she is.
- 1:39Speaker 2: No one cares. And I'm like, she's huge.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Yeah, well, just two million people seem to care. Exactly.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Now, let's get back to the breakup.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Because not only have Lauren and Liam unfollowed each other
- 1:50Speaker 1: on Instagram, they've also been absent from each other's accounts,
- 1:53Speaker 1: which is of course a telltale sign that something isn't right.
- 1:57Speaker 1: So Liam last posted about Lauren in June, and that
- 2:00Speaker 1: was when they were holidaying together in Italy with their daughter.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Now, if they have broken up, sadly, it's not actually
- 2:06Speaker 3: the first time. So This couple has this incredible relationship
- 2:10Speaker 3: redemption arc. So just for a bit of a timeline,
- 2:12Speaker 3: they actually began dating just months after Lauren announced her
- 2:16Speaker 3: shock split from her longtime partner and fellow travel blogger,
- 2:19Speaker 3: Jack Morris. And this was massive news at the time
- 2:22Speaker 3: because Lauren and Jack had over 4 million Instagram followers
- 2:26Speaker 3: between them. And they were famous for taking beautiful couple
- 2:28Speaker 3: photos around the world. And they infamously built a three-story
- 2:32Speaker 3: mansion in Bali together in 2019. So in June 2021,
- 2:36Speaker 3: when Lauren hard launched her new boyfriend, Frenchman Liam, to
- 2:39Speaker 3: her socials, she was criticized for moving on too quickly.
- 2:43Speaker 3: In fact, some of her followers accused her of trying
- 2:45Speaker 3: to upset Jack with her new loved up Instagram photos.
- 2:48Speaker 3: And at the time, Lauren assured her fans that there
- 2:50Speaker 3: was no drama and that she and Jack were happy
- 2:52Speaker 3: for each other. She wrote, don't jump to conclusions that
- 2:55Speaker 3: any of these posts are hurting him. Believe me, I
- 2:58Speaker 3: wouldn't be posting about it if I believed this would
- 3:00Speaker 3: hurt him. There is no hashtag team Lauren or hashtag
- 3:03Speaker 3: team Jack. So just leave it.
- 3:04Speaker 1: She went on to say she didn't expect everyone to
- 3:07Speaker 1: understand or agree with her new relationship with Liam saying,
- 3:10Speaker 1: if you think it's too soon, that's okay. But you
- 3:13Speaker 1: have to realize you don't fully understand what people have
- 3:15Speaker 1: been going through prior to knowing about the breakup. So
- 3:19Speaker 1: you don't have any place to tell someone when it
- 3:21Speaker 1: is okay for them to love again.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Yes.
- 3:23Speaker 1: In the beginning, I tried to run or deny feeling
- 3:25Speaker 1: this way about someone so soon. But when someone comes
- 3:28Speaker 1: into your life and makes you feel the way he
- 3:30Speaker 1: made me feel, then you better not run from it.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I choose to embrace it and I'm so happy I did.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Now, following all of that drama, Lauren and Liam ended
- 3:38Speaker 3: up spending the European summer of 2021 together in between
- 3:42Speaker 3: France and Greece before returning to Bali together. However, less
- 3:46Speaker 3: than a year later, Lauren announced their split on an
- 3:48Speaker 3: Instagram story and she admitted that there was never a
- 3:51Speaker 3: perfect time to talk about a breakup, but she had
- 3:54Speaker 3: to address the elephant in the room. awkwardly. She happened
- 3:57Speaker 3: to be in Paris at the time, which is where
- 3:59Speaker 3: Liam is from. And she said she found it really
- 4:01Speaker 3: difficult to document her trip there. So she wrote, I'm
- 4:04Speaker 3: far from ready to talk about this, but Liam and
- 4:06Speaker 3: I are no longer together. I know the majority of
- 4:08Speaker 3: you come from a place of loving and caring, but
- 4:10Speaker 3: I'm reminded every time I open Instagram to see your messages.
- 4:13Speaker 3: I share so much of my relationship, so I know
- 4:15Speaker 3: I somewhat owe an explanation. Now for a while, Lauren
- 4:19Speaker 3: kept her dating life off social media, but she began
- 4:22Speaker 3: dropping clues in 2023 that things were back on with Liam.
- 4:25Speaker 3: She never actually formally addressed it, though, and then in
- 4:28Speaker 3: March 2024 announced that they were pregnant with their first child.
- 4:32Speaker 1: That's a pretty big way to relaunch your relationship back
- 4:35Speaker 1: on social media. Yes, quite a hard launch to say, oh,
- 4:38Speaker 1: we're back together and we're also having a baby.
- 4:40Speaker 3: So it's very sad news if they actually have broken up.
- 4:43Speaker 3: It got me thinking, do you think you can ever
- 4:45Speaker 3: make it work with an ex again?
- 4:46Speaker 1: I think it depends how the relationship ended. If it
- 4:49Speaker 1: ended because of cheating, I don't think you can ever
- 4:52Speaker 1: get over it because that is going to be brought
- 4:53Speaker 1: back every single time you have a fight.
- 4:56Speaker 3: See, I've known couples who have broken up and been
- 4:58Speaker 3: apart for quite some time and then gotten back together
- 5:01Speaker 3: and they've gone on to get married. So I think
- 5:03Speaker 3: the difference is that they've probably worked out what the
- 5:06Speaker 3: issue was and moved on from it. You can't hold
- 5:09Speaker 3: on to things from the last breakup, I think.
- 5:11Speaker 1: See, that's really awkward for the friends because any time
- 5:13Speaker 1: a friend breaks up with someone, that's when you tell
- 5:16Speaker 1: your friend what you really thought about them.
- 5:18Speaker 3: And yeah, and you go and unfollow. Yeah.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And then it's super awkward when they're like, oh, no,
- 5:23Speaker 1: I'm actually getting back with that person. You think, holy fuck,
- 5:25Speaker 1: like that's going to be super awkward when I now
- 5:27Speaker 1: have to refollow that person. Yeah.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I've now learned to hold off from saying my true
- 5:32Speaker 3: opinions of someone because it always seems to be that
- 5:34Speaker 3: phase where. the person will go back to them for
- 5:37Speaker 3: at least a little bit. And then they usually come
- 5:40Speaker 3: to their senses.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Now, just back to Lauren, she added more fuel to
- 5:43Speaker 1: the fire last week when she documented traveling from Bali
- 5:46Speaker 1: to Ibiza solo with her one-year-old daughter. So it took
- 5:50Speaker 1: her three flights to get to the party island where
- 5:53Speaker 1: she met up with her friends for what she said
- 5:55Speaker 1: was much needed girl time.
- 5:56Speaker 3: If this doesn't scream breakup, I don't know what does.
- 5:59Speaker 3: She ended up conceding that the three solo flights parenting
- 6:02Speaker 3: were a lot and very ambitious of her. In fact,
- 6:05Speaker 3: She ended up sharing a story time about a female
- 6:08Speaker 3: passenger abusing her in business class because her daughter cried
- 6:12Speaker 3: during the night flight. So according to Lauren, her daughter
- 6:15Speaker 3: slept for the first four hours but made some noise
- 6:17Speaker 3: every couple of hours. Lauren was then left shocked when
- 6:21Speaker 3: she was confronted in her business class suite by a
- 6:24Speaker 3: female passenger who So Lauren's daughter was asleep on her
- 6:27Speaker 3: as this passenger aggressively said to her, how dare you?
- 6:30Speaker 3: How dare you bring your baby into business? I paid
- 6:33Speaker 3: for this so I can sleep. How dare you? Now
- 6:36Speaker 3: Lauren said she was lost for words but managed to
- 6:38Speaker 3: respond something along the lines of, you think I want
- 6:41Speaker 3: my baby crying right now?
- 6:42Speaker 1: Now Lauren said the encounter tipped her over the edge
- 6:45Speaker 1: and left her sobbing in her seat. She wrote on
- 6:48Speaker 1: her Instagram story, I'm very emotional since becoming a mother
- 6:51Speaker 1: and I just couldn't comprehend how someone could be so
- 6:54Speaker 1: rude and offensive. To someone who is already in a
- 6:56Speaker 1: very vulnerable position, flying with a young child is pretty
- 7:00Speaker 1: stressful even when.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Two parents are there, let alone on your own.
- 7:04Speaker 1: She went on to write, I want to share this
- 7:05Speaker 1: story for other mothers and just anyone who has never
- 7:08Speaker 1: thought about how it feels to be the parent with
- 7:10Speaker 1: the crying baby.
- 7:11Speaker 3: On a plane.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Have some compassion for them. I know many of us
- 7:14Speaker 1: at times felt irritated by a baby crying and maybe
- 7:17Speaker 1: passed a thought about it. But to go out of
- 7:19Speaker 1: your way to approach that alone mother, how fucking mean.
- 7:23Speaker 1: No one wants their baby to be crying. No one
- 7:25Speaker 1: wants to interrupt others' sleep. But this is public transport
- 7:28Speaker 1: and I have as much right as she does to
- 7:30Speaker 1: be in business class with my child. She better hire
- 7:33Speaker 1: a private jet if she thinks she's entitled to a
- 7:35Speaker 1: completely uninterrupted flight next time.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Anyway, I hope I never have to encounter such a
- 7:39Speaker 2: bitch again.
- 7:40Speaker 1: And I think the fact I was so rattled about
- 7:42Speaker 1: it shows a lot about my morals versus hers.
- 7:45Speaker 3: I've never heard anyone refer to business class as public transport.
- 7:49Speaker 3: That's quite hilarious.
- 7:50Speaker 1: But I suppose the only way to be guaranteed a
- 7:53Speaker 1: baby-free flight is to charter your own jet. Yeah, I'm
- 7:56Speaker 1: in two minds because I obviously feel really sorry for Lauren.
- 7:59Speaker 1: That would be such a shit experience. But can you
- 8:01Speaker 1: imagine paying, what, $ 20, 000 or something to fly business class
- 8:05Speaker 1: and having a baby cry the whole way there?
- 8:07Speaker 3: I mean, I've got to admit as well, before having
- 8:09Speaker 3: a baby, I was someone who was so annoyed when
- 8:11Speaker 3: I saw a baby was on my flight. And I
- 8:13Speaker 3: have had the experience of some long night flights in
- 8:16Speaker 3: economy with babies crying. Now that I am a mother though,
- 8:19Speaker 3: I just feel so sorry for any parent that has
- 8:21Speaker 3: to endure a flight because I'm sitting there thinking, oh,
- 8:23Speaker 3: it's so hard on me having to listen to it.
- 8:25Speaker 3: But imagine having to tend to the baby. It would
- 8:27Speaker 3: be so bloody stressful. In saying that though, Amy, I
- 8:30Speaker 3: do agree with you. If I'd paid all of that
- 8:32Speaker 3: money for business class, I would not be thrilled if
- 8:35Speaker 3: a baby was seated near me.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And it doesn't surprise me that something like this happened
- 8:39Speaker 1: on an aeroplane because emotions are so high. Like I
- 8:42Speaker 1: saw a clip the other day on TikTok where a
- 8:45Speaker 1: man stood with his arms against the back of his
- 8:47Speaker 1: seat for eight hours to stop the man in front
- 8:50Speaker 1: of him reclining back.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Like people just turn into absolute animals.
- 8:53Speaker 3: The thing is though, we've now progressed so far with
- 8:57Speaker 3: noise cancelling headphones. Surely they should be available in business class,
- 9:02Speaker 3: you know, just even to help out with people abusing
- 9:04Speaker 3: the flight attendance over babies being on planes.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I have seen there's this trend where parents will bring
- 9:09Speaker 1: a little survival kit for the people sitting around their children.
- 9:12Speaker 1: It'll often be like lollies and chocolate and earplugs, somehow
- 9:17Speaker 1: I don't think that would go down well in first class.
- 9:19Speaker 1: They're not the sort of people that are impressed by
- 9:21Speaker 1: a couple of Mars bars and some Skittles.
- 9:23Speaker 3: I'd love to know how many times the woman who
- 9:25Speaker 3: abused Lauren has flown business class because I'd almost be
- 9:29Speaker 3: willing to give her the benefit of the doubt if
- 9:31Speaker 3: it was her first and only time and it's been
- 9:33Speaker 3: interrupted by this famous travel vlogger.
- 9:35Speaker 1: With that attitude, I think she's in there all the time.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I think she thinks that business class is just her
- 9:40Speaker 1: personal cabin. Well, I actually looked up how much it
- 9:43Speaker 1: costs for a baby to travel business class with you
- 9:45Speaker 1: because I know if you bring babies, I think it's
- 9:48Speaker 1: under two on a regular flight, you don't have to
- 9:50Speaker 1: pay for them. However, it's a little bit different in
- 9:53Speaker 1: business class. So you end up having to pay around 10%
- 9:56Speaker 1: of the adult fare if they sit on your lap,
- 9:59Speaker 1: whereas if you get a seat for them, you pay
- 10:01Speaker 1: the same as an adult business class fare. Gosh, you
- 10:04Speaker 1: should almost have to pay more because of the inconvenience
- 10:07Speaker 1: of the other people.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Well, it's pretty interesting because Malaysian Airlines is the only
- 10:12Speaker 3: airline who outright bans babies in their A380 first class.
- 10:17Speaker 3: They say babies aren't allowed due to an inability to
- 10:20Speaker 3: accommodate bassinets as well as passenger complaints. There have also
- 10:24Speaker 3: been some airlines who have either experimented or implemented children-free
- 10:28Speaker 3: business class zones. I think that could be a good idea.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's a great idea.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I heard on a podcast that there's also now baby-free
- 10:36Speaker 1: hotels that you can go to. Well, they've got baby-free
- 10:39Speaker 1: islands in Queensland, so it makes sense. I think the
- 10:42Speaker 1: real MVP here is Etihad because Etihad, They provide a
- 10:45Speaker 1: flying nanny service that's available to all passengers across all classes.
- 10:50Speaker 1: So it's essentially an in-flight childcare assistance scheme where the
- 10:54Speaker 1: nannies help with bassinet and baby equipment. They also help
- 10:57Speaker 1: with feeding, including delivering meals early or warming bottles.
- 11:02Speaker 5: Just going through the motions at the end of the day,
- 11:05Speaker 5: life is not perfect. People aren't perfect.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Tammy Hembrough has given followers another look behind the scenes
- 11:15Speaker 1: of her marriage breakdown to Matt Zukowski. The OG influencer
- 11:19Speaker 1: backed up the viral video she shared of her crying
- 11:22Speaker 1: last weekend with a YouTube vlog documenting the months leading
- 11:25Speaker 1: into her divorce announcement in June. Kate, this is the
- 11:28Speaker 1: first time that Tammy has posted a YouTube in over
- 11:31Speaker 1: four months.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Yeah, her last vlog was back in late March when
- 11:35Speaker 3: she visited her younger sisters in London. And the vlog
- 11:38Speaker 3: documented bits and pieces from Tammy's birthday, Wolf's birthday, her
- 11:42Speaker 3: supplement brand Selfish's PR tour in Melbourne and her trip
- 11:46Speaker 3: to Egypt. So Tammy shared the link to her YouTube
- 11:48Speaker 3: on her Instagram story and provided a disclaimer revealing she'd
- 11:52Speaker 3: been avoiding posting the video and really didn't want to.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Let's listen to more of what she had to say.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Whatever, I posted it.
- 12:01Speaker 3: So if you want to go watch it, go watch it.
- 12:03Speaker 3: But bear in mind that I had a lot going
- 12:06Speaker 3: on in the background. I don't know.
- 12:09Speaker 4: I can't rewatch it.
- 12:11Speaker 5: Because it's just like.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Too much for me.
- 12:15Speaker 4: But if you guys want to watch it, I thought
- 12:18Speaker 4: I'm just going to post it, whatever, because I had
- 12:19Speaker 4: the best time in Egypt and, like, you know, people
- 12:23Speaker 4: keep asking me when I'm posting my next YouTube video,
- 12:25Speaker 4: so I'm just posting it.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I'm guessing she didn't want to post it at the
- 12:29Speaker 1: time because she didn't want to provide further proof that
- 12:31Speaker 1: her and Matt had broken up.
- 12:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:33Speaker 3: And the end scene that was included in the vlog
- 12:35Speaker 3: was actually filmed around the time that Tammy started teasing
- 12:40Speaker 3: that something was going on. Remember it was a week
- 12:42Speaker 3: before she announced the divorce and she said, look, I've
- 12:45Speaker 3: been going through something difficult. I mean, the other telltale
- 12:48Speaker 3: signs were the fact that Matt was absent from all
- 12:50Speaker 3: of these important family events, which was already quite obvious
- 12:53Speaker 3: on her Instagram story. In terms of this final scene,
- 12:57Speaker 3: Tammy admitted that she was going through a difficult time
- 13:00Speaker 3: and had been pretending online that everything was okay. And
- 13:03Speaker 3: She went on to say that it had been really
- 13:04Speaker 3: difficult for her to show up for her kids and
- 13:07Speaker 3: also work while she was going through something so difficult.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Well, imagine how many people would have been asking her
- 13:12Speaker 1: in Egypt, how's Matt? Like your wedding looks beautiful.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Yeah, because she was hosting this trip alongside this travel agency.
- 13:19Speaker 3: So they were all fans of hers that were on
- 13:22Speaker 3: the trip. Now, at one point in the YouTube, Tammy
- 13:25Speaker 3: almost broke down in tears, but pulled herself together and
- 13:28Speaker 3: said she'd cried enough for an entire year in the
- 13:30Speaker 3: last month. So didn't want to cry anymore. She then
- 13:33Speaker 3: said this.
- 13:35Speaker 5: Just going through the motions at the end of the day,
- 13:38Speaker 5: life is not perfect. People aren't perfect and life can
- 13:44Speaker 5: throw you some curveballs and you just got to roll
- 13:47Speaker 5: with it. Sometimes it's not the outcome you wanted and
- 13:54Speaker 5: that's just life. Sometimes the universe tries to tell you
- 13:58Speaker 5: and you don't listen until you are forced to listen.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Tammy went on to tease that she would have more
- 14:04Speaker 3: to say in her next YouTube video. Let's take a
- 14:07Speaker 3: listen to what she said.
- 14:09Speaker 5: I will talk about things more. I probably won't go
- 14:13Speaker 5: into like super details, but I definitely will talk about
- 14:18Speaker 5: it more later on because for me, like having an
- 14:23Speaker 5: online presence and stuff, it's not like I just post
- 14:27Speaker 5: like just fashion or just gym or just, you know,
- 14:30Speaker 5: like I very much show my just my life and
- 14:33Speaker 5: me and stuff online so I makes me feel better
- 14:39Speaker 5: not having to like hide certain parts and in the
- 14:42Speaker 5: past like I do I do try to have respect
- 14:45Speaker 5: for other people involved and not you know I never
- 14:49Speaker 5: want to hold on to hatred and negativity and like
- 14:53Speaker 5: make other people look bad but I also do want
- 14:56Speaker 5: to be able to.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Express myself Now, as I mentioned before, this scene was
- 15:03Speaker 3: shot in June before she announced her divorce. I wonder, though,
- 15:08Speaker 3: if she will be going into more detail in her
- 15:11Speaker 3: new YouTube videos.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Well, I really think it depends how much Matt actually
- 15:14Speaker 1: reveals because he has been stoking the fire. He made
- 15:18Speaker 1: a similar vow last week to his podcast listeners saying
- 15:20Speaker 1: that he was going to share more about his breakup journey.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Yeah, off the back of that, I waited with bated
- 15:26Speaker 3: breath to listen to his podcast. Interestingly, Matt and his
- 15:29Speaker 3: co-host Anna McAvoy chose to interview a narcissist abuse educator.
- 15:35Speaker 3: So Matt and Anna claimed it was a topic their
- 15:37Speaker 3: audience had asked them to cover for a long time.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Interesting timing they chose to do that that week. Now
- 15:43Speaker 3: in the episode, they spoke about how to tell if
- 15:45Speaker 3: someone is a narcissist or just has narcissistic traits, as
- 15:48Speaker 3: well as discussing how social media encourages narcissism. pretty uncomfortable
- 15:53Speaker 3: listening to this episode because to me, it felt like
- 15:56Speaker 3: a thinly veiled swipe at Tammy.
- 15:58Speaker 1: It definitely came across that way. I think if Matt
- 16:00Speaker 1: wants to speak out about Tammy, just say something. Don't
- 16:04Speaker 1: start sharing this type of petty stuff online.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Well, he can't come out and say she's a narcissist.
- 16:10Speaker 3: This is the way that he can infer that's what
- 16:13Speaker 3: he's thinking without getting himself in too much trouble. I mean,
- 16:15Speaker 3: we've got to remember that they're still finalizing the divorce.
- 16:18Speaker 3: There are lawyers involved. So he needs to be really
- 16:21Speaker 3: careful about what he says Maybe he is waiting to
- 16:24Speaker 3: see how he fares in this divorce before putting too
- 16:28Speaker 3: much information out there.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Well, we already know that they signed a prenup.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but you never know. If there's things that people
- 16:33Speaker 3: don't want discussed, there might be negotiations back and forth.
- 16:36Speaker 1: What we know from listening to So Dramatic is that
- 16:39Speaker 1: Tammy has already threatened Matt legally, so allegedly. So that's
- 16:43Speaker 1: maybe why he's trying to speak in riddles.
- 16:45Speaker 3: On his podcast.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Yeah, well, meanwhile, one of Matt's former Love Island co-stars
- 16:50Speaker 3: has alleged a whole episode of the reality show never
- 16:53Speaker 3: aired due to something Matt did during filming. Vanessa Sierra,
- 16:57Speaker 3: who Matt had a short-lived romance with on the show
- 16:59Speaker 3: six years ago, divulged that she was sworn to secrecy
- 17:03Speaker 3: over the incident. So it all came out during a
- 17:05Speaker 3: Q & A over the weekend when Vanessa was asked
- 17:08Speaker 3: by a follower if she had any Love Island dirt
- 17:10Speaker 3: to share for fun. And she replied, there's a whole
- 17:13Speaker 3: episode that they didn't air because of something that Matt
- 17:15Speaker 3: Z did. And the producers told me not to tell anyone,
- 17:18Speaker 3: including the Islanders. In hindsight, I should not have listened.
- 17:22Speaker 1: And she has continued to remain tight lipped about what
- 17:24Speaker 1: actually went down. And it's important to point out there
- 17:27Speaker 1: has been no suggestion of wrongdoing on Matt's behalf. And
- 17:30Speaker 1: we're definitely not trying to suggest he did anything.
- 17:32Speaker 3: I would love to know what actually happened, though. It's
- 17:34Speaker 3: pretty mysterious to say that a whole episode of the
- 17:37Speaker 3: show was pulled because of something he did. I mean,
- 17:40Speaker 3: if you're going to come out and say that, just
- 17:42Speaker 3: tell the full story rather than tease everyone.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Maybe Vanessa will have to release her own subtle podcast.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Well, in terms of their relationship on the show, I
- 17:50Speaker 3: didn't actually watch this series, but she was one of
- 17:53Speaker 3: the original Islanders in season two of the show. And
- 17:56Speaker 3: she coupled up with Matt pretty early on when he
- 17:59Speaker 3: entered the villa as a bombshell.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Wait, so you didn't see this series at all?
- 18:02Speaker 3: No, I actually want to go back and watch it.
- 18:03Speaker 1: No, I watched it and I've seen some clips of
- 18:06Speaker 1: the show coming back on TikTok. And there was one where,
- 18:09Speaker 1: because Matt's sort of claim to fame was that he'd
- 18:12Speaker 1: slept with, I think it was like 200 women and
- 18:15Speaker 1: some of the girls had a bit of a go
- 18:16Speaker 1: at him and that clip has since gone viral on TikTok.
- 18:19Speaker 3: I'm sure it has.
- 18:20Speaker 1: The issue with Matt was I think he gave a
- 18:22Speaker 1: lot of the girls the ick and he had a
- 18:24Speaker 1: lot of difficulty coupling up.
- 18:26Speaker 2: He was in a lot of friend couples.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Yeah, well, Vanessa ended up getting voted off the show
- 18:30Speaker 3: by the other contestants because they thought she was leading
- 18:33Speaker 3: Matt on and didn't actually have very good intentions with
- 18:36Speaker 3: him and he decided to remain on the show and
- 18:38Speaker 3: he didn't leave with her. And apparently when he left
- 18:42Speaker 3: the show and found out that Vanessa was the villain,
- 18:45Speaker 3: he wasn't really interested in getting to know her any further.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Interesting she's brunette as well because that's meant to be
- 18:50Speaker 1: his type, big boobs and brunette.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Yeah, well, she ticks the boxes there. The last time
- 18:55Speaker 3: we spoke about Vanessa Sierra was back in 2021. So
- 18:58Speaker 3: that was when she made explosive claims about her then boyfriend,
- 19:02Speaker 3: Australian tennis player Bernard Tomic. So they made headlines when
- 19:06Speaker 3: they started an OnlyFans account together saying And then Vanessa
- 19:10Speaker 3: created a massive media frenzy when she claimed that Bernard
- 19:13Speaker 3: had anger issues and that he smashed her laptop during
- 19:16Speaker 3: an argument. That's right.
- 19:17Speaker 2: She released that vision.
- 19:19Speaker 1: And then Bernard accused her of being a clout chaser
- 19:21Speaker 1: and using his name for attention.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Ironically, they actually ended up getting back together after that
- 19:26Speaker 3: for only a short amount of time, but they somehow
- 19:28Speaker 3: managed to patch things over.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Well, on the topic of athletes, there are currently whispers
- 19:32Speaker 1: that Tammy is planning her Brownlow look.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Wouldn't this be epic?
- 19:37Speaker 3: Yeah, well, we don't have to wait too long because
- 19:39Speaker 3: the Brownlow takes place the Monday before the grand final,
- 19:41Speaker 3: and that's on the 22nd of September. I cannot wait
- 19:45Speaker 3: to see if Tammy Hembrough rocks up with Bailey Smith.
- 19:48Speaker 3: It's been reported that Tammy is set to create the
- 19:51Speaker 3: biggest spotlight still since Beck Judd's red dress 20 years ago.
- 19:55Speaker 3: And countless designers have been contacting Tammy to dress her
- 19:59Speaker 3: for the event. However, it's been tipped that she'll be
- 20:01Speaker 3: styled by influencer stylist Paul Versace.
- 20:05Speaker 1: We definitely didn't have this in our 2025 predictions. Tammy
- 20:08Speaker 1: attending the Brownlow.
- 20:09Speaker 3: I would be absolutely floored knowing that this was in
- 20:12Speaker 3: the cards.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Well, I think at the time we all thought that
- 20:14Speaker 1: the marriage would end, but we felt too mean to
- 20:16Speaker 1: say it in our predictions.
- 20:17Speaker 2: But a lot of people sent that through.
- 20:19Speaker 3: I think we did predict it.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Surely it was a prediction.
- 20:21Speaker 3: No, we didn't.
- 20:22Speaker 2: We felt too mean.
- 20:23Speaker 3: It was an off mic. It was a private prediction.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a private prediction.
- 20:26Speaker 3: I have to tell this again. I'm going to quit
- 20:31Speaker 3: my job.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Sky Wheatley has been accused of breaking advertising rules after
- 20:36Speaker 1: filming herself getting a salmon sperm facial. The allegations came
- 20:40Speaker 1: off the back of the former reality star revealing she
- 20:43Speaker 1: spent more than 500k on plastic surgery and injectables.
- 20:47Speaker 3: I love it because you had to record that a
- 20:49Speaker 3: couple of times because you burst out laughing when you
- 20:51Speaker 3: said that she was filming herself getting a salmon sperm facial.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Because It kind of sounds like she broke advertising rules
- 20:57Speaker 3: because it's kind of a sorted process. It's not. It's
- 20:59Speaker 3: literally just injected into your face.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Well, I'd only heard of the salmon sperm facials from
- 21:04Speaker 1: Bec Judd's podcast that we spoke about a couple of
- 21:06Speaker 1: months ago.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Yeah. And that's why this story is so interesting. So
- 21:10Speaker 3: Skye is no stranger to sharing her experience with cosmetic procedures.
- 21:14Speaker 3: In 2025, she documented herself getting a breast augmentation in
- 21:17Speaker 3: Thailand as part of a promotional arrangement. Unfortunately, that surgery
- 21:22Speaker 3: went wrong and She was left with a very noticeable
- 21:25Speaker 3: double bubble in her right breast and she later paid
- 21:29Speaker 3: $ 28, 000 to have corrective surgery in Sydney to fix the issue.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Of course, this time last year, Sky underwent a controversial
- 21:36Speaker 3: fox eye lift in Turkey. We spoke about that in
- 21:38Speaker 3: length at the time. And during that trip, she also
- 21:41Speaker 3: had a temporal lift and liposuction on her arms and
- 21:44Speaker 3: inner thighs. So it seemed very on trend for Skye
- 21:47Speaker 3: to share about getting a salmon sperm facial, nothing too
- 21:50Speaker 3: out of the ordinary. And she documented her experience on
- 21:54Speaker 3: TikTok sharing a glowing testimony of the treatment. She also
- 21:58Speaker 3: filmed the procedure in progress and the aftermath. Skye also
- 22:02Speaker 3: shared before and after photos on her Instagram story and
- 22:04Speaker 3: made claims about how the treatment worked. It's important to
- 22:07Speaker 3: point out it's unclear what the advertising relationship is between
- 22:11Speaker 3: Sky and the cosmetic clinic. She hasn't disclosed that there
- 22:14Speaker 3: was a partnership, but she tagged the skin clinic in
- 22:17Speaker 3: her TikTok and on her Instagram story. So the big
- 22:20Speaker 3: question is, why is it a problem? And how does
- 22:23Speaker 3: this differ to her sharing about her plastic surgery?
- 22:26Speaker 1: So the difference is that the procedure is actually regulated
- 22:29Speaker 1: by the TGA as a class three medical device. So
- 22:33Speaker 1: back in 2022... The TGA updated their code, which impacted
- 22:37Speaker 1: the way influencers promote cosmetic injectables on social media. So
- 22:41Speaker 1: the rules are now very strict. Basically, influencers cannot show
- 22:46Speaker 1: before and after comparisons or provide testimonies.
- 22:49Speaker 3: And it got me thinking about how Bec Judd recently
- 22:52Speaker 3: spoke about the salmon sperm facial on her podcast, Vanish.
- 22:54Speaker 3: And it appears the difference is that Bec did it
- 22:58Speaker 3: in more of an educational way that was balanced. And
- 23:01Speaker 3: she spoke about both the risks and the benefits. It
- 23:03Speaker 3: also appears she wasn't actually paid to speak about it,
- 23:06Speaker 3: which is another major difference. It is all rather confusing
- 23:09Speaker 3: because it appears that the restrictions around the promotion of
- 23:12Speaker 3: medical goods and devices is actually stricter than the promotion
- 23:16Speaker 3: of surgeries because you see so many influencers talking about
- 23:19Speaker 3: the various cosmetic surgeries that they've had and it doesn't
- 23:22Speaker 3: seem like they have to abide by any specific rules.
- 23:26Speaker 3: But that's essentially because surgeries are already regulated as a
- 23:30Speaker 3: professional service. And the focus is on the practitioner, whereas
- 23:34Speaker 3: with medical goods and devices, they can be misused by
- 23:37Speaker 3: the public more easily. So that's why they have what
- 23:40Speaker 3: appear to be stricter rules around advertising on social media.
- 23:44Speaker 1: So it's interesting because it was actually the Daily Telegraph
- 23:47Speaker 1: who broke the story about Sky. And recently, they have
- 23:51Speaker 1: been reporting on major media outlets who've been receiving fines
- 23:54Speaker 1: and court actions by the TGA for allegedly unlawful advertising.
- 23:59Speaker 1: And this is in relation to stories about medical cannabis
- 24:02Speaker 1: weight loss drugs, and also cosmetic surgery.
- 24:04Speaker 2: So it's obviously on their radar.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Yeah, reading between the lines, it seemed like the Daily
- 24:08Speaker 3: Telegraph were quite annoyed by the fact that big media
- 24:12Speaker 3: are getting stung while influencers are dodging penalties. They even
- 24:16Speaker 3: reported that the TGA are yet to reveal comparable penalties
- 24:19Speaker 3: for influencers. The details the TGA have released, though, are
- 24:23Speaker 3: that nearly 13,500 people online ads were removed last year
- 24:28Speaker 3: due to breaching restrictions. So I wonder if they're really
- 24:30Speaker 3: trying to make an example of Sky.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I can understand why there would be frustration coming from
- 24:35Speaker 1: the large media outlets because the influencer world is so unregulated.
- 24:40Speaker 1: And even though there are apparently all these rules that
- 24:42Speaker 1: they must follow, it doesn't seem that any influencers ever
- 24:45Speaker 1: actually get punished for doing the wrong thing. I mean,
- 24:48Speaker 1: how many times do we see influencers not disclosing ads
- 24:51Speaker 1: and nothing ever happens?
- 24:53Speaker 3: Yeah, at the worst, they seem to get a slap
- 24:55Speaker 3: on the wrist. I do want to point out the
- 24:57Speaker 3: TGA have not confirmed if Sky is being investigated as
- 25:00Speaker 3: they cannot actually comment on individual cases.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Well, funnily enough, the Daily Telegraph reached out to Sky
- 25:06Speaker 1: for comment and they reported that they received a message
- 25:09Speaker 1: back from a woman claiming to be Sky's manager called
- 25:12Speaker 1: Daniela Lombardi. And she apparently wrote, I'm Sky's manager and
- 25:16Speaker 1: I do not give you permission to write about Sky,
- 25:19Speaker 1: nor is it any of your concern.
- 25:21Speaker 2: And later Sky.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Confessed on TikTok that she was actually pretending to be
- 25:25Speaker 1: her manager. So in the comment section of her video,
- 25:28Speaker 1: she wrote, yep, that was me. I wrote that with
- 25:30Speaker 1: two laughing faces.
- 25:32Speaker 3: And this is why Sky continues to be popular on
- 25:34Speaker 3: social media.
- 25:35Speaker 1: I love that she didn't even go to chat GPT
- 25:37Speaker 1: for a response. You can tell that she just wrote
- 25:39Speaker 1: this herself.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Yeah, well, the Daily Telegraph actually included some of the
- 25:42Speaker 3: typos in the message as well, which was pretty funny.
- 25:45Speaker 1: You could just imagine they would have been sitting around
- 25:47Speaker 1: in the newsroom and been like, this is not her manager.
- 25:51Speaker 3: This is Sky. Yeah, the fact that they actually included
- 25:53Speaker 3: it because normally they say, oh, you know, Sky Wheatley
- 25:56Speaker 3: was contacted and refused to comment or something like that.
- 25:58Speaker 3: But to actually include it verbatim is pretty funny.
- 26:00Speaker 1: But I love that Sky just thinks that because her
- 26:03Speaker 1: manager says you don't have permission to write about Sky,
- 26:06Speaker 1: they're just going to go, oh, okay, sorry, that's cool.
- 26:08Speaker 2: We just won't print anything.
- 26:10Speaker 3: What I want to know, is her manager actually called
- 26:12Speaker 3: Daniela Lombardia or is that a fake name as well?
- 26:15Speaker 2: Pretty sure it's a fake name.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Well, that's where we're going to leave things today. But
- 26:18Speaker 3: if you do want extra content from us, we drop
- 26:20Speaker 3: a subscriber-only episode every Thursday. Essentially, it's just like this show,
- 26:24Speaker 3: but on a Thursday.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Yeah, Outspoken Plus is just essentially an extension of this show.
- 26:29Speaker 1: There's a lot of extra influencer drama that we discuss
- 26:31Speaker 1: on there each week.
- 26:32Speaker 3: If you want to sign up, all the details are
- 26:34Speaker 3: in our show notes. This podcast was recorded on the
- 26:37Speaker 3: traditional land of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains.
- 26:40Speaker 3: We pay respect to elders past and present.
