- 0:32Lean in.
- 0:32Let's unlock the way.
- 0:33Go outside the box with Asendia USA.
- 0:36So the bones there sound like they're set up for success.
- 0:40Right.
- 0:40So do we have any active customers using the service now?
- 0:44What are some of the success stories and what's the value that it brings to them?
- 0:47We do.
- 0:48We have three active customers that we, we chose and we said let's pilot these three customers.
- 0:54Friendly customers, good customers.
- 0:56One of the customers is shipping five to seven thousand parcels a day.
- 1:01They saw that, what we could do and how we could do it.
- 1:04So we're softly walking them through with the promise by the end of the year to deliver on that one to five days.
- 1:13And we're right now getting.
- 1:14We just had the stats and Gerry, I'm not sure if you saw it, it just came across my desk this morning, an email and we hit 98% in six days.
- 1:24So.
- 1:24So that's pretty good.
- 1:25We're getting there.
- 1:26Right.
- 1:26So the goal is to have that tail.
- 1:29That tail.
- 1:30We're going to take care of the tail with different ways and Gerry is working on different methods to get that tail reduced and making sure that we're getting, hitting the five day delivery.
- 1:41Can, can you, can we just go back for a second?
- 1:44So you mentioned expertise with transportation and I want to just clarify for listeners and viewers.
- 1:48It.
- 1:49I want to.
- 1:49Are you referring to first mile and middle mile?
- 1:52Perfect.
- 1:53First mile, middle mile.
- 1:54But it's more the middle mile.
- 1:56Right.
- 1:56Our first mile we could collect ltl bring it right into our facility.
- 2:00It's the larger loads that middle mile that we need given, driven from New York to California.
- 2:08I don't want to rely, we don't want to rely on somebody else to do that for us.
- 2:12We want to do it ourselves.
- 2:13Team driven drivers.
- 2:14We can get there in 72 hours and have everything dropped and then delivered on day four and five to meet that commitment for the one to five day delivery.
- 2:22I did not realize we were modeling what we did in Canada with the U.S.
- 2:26market, that's pretty cool.
- 2:27So Asendia, whether it's contracted assets, whatever.
- 2:31That is, we're going to utilize the Broad Reach network and we're going to take some of that network and bring that into Asendia.
- 2:39Those are all trucks right now that we have already.
- 2:42They're in the U.S.
- 2:44we're going to have these trucks.
- 2:45They're going empty right now.
- 2:46It's perfect.
- 2:47We're going to fill them to the points and kind of do a milk run for all of the stuff going in the US and then us going into Canada.
- 2:54Okay, got it.
- 2:55That's, that's pretty cool.
- 2:57That's really cool, Nick.
- 2:58I'll just add to that.
- 2:58Like there's more to when you start zone skipping and pushing stuff forward down this, down the carrier's chain, it's more than just maybe picking up a day.
- 3:10Right.
- 3:10Typically carriers run like a hub and spoke system.
- 3:14So east coast might get the packages.
- 3:16They'll go to a sortation center in Chicago, Chicago will sort them.
- 3:19Don't go to Reno, whatever.
- 3:21Right.
- 3:21Multiple touches of the package.
- 3:23Every time you add a physical touch to a package, there's an opportunity for damage, loss, all that.
- 3:28Right.
- 3:29So the quality, like the least times anybody has to touch or unload a package, you a improve your quality.
- 3:35Right.
- 3:35By the zone skipping, you're also going to get an average lower zone.
- 3:39So that lowers the cost for, you know, the shipper or our cost, but then cost, we can get more competitive rate.
- 3:46So and of course the service you pick up, you know, you can cut a day or more off in the service of then just giving it to the carrier at the origin.
- 3:53You know, you're going to beat them.
- 3:54You know what, I'll give this to you down there, you just do the final mile down down there.
- 3:57So there's multiple benefits of doing, you know, the zone skipping and utilizing the network across the country.
- 4:03That sounds huge.
- 4:04So, so for everybody listening and, and watching.
- 4:07Gerry, could you just clarify what zone skipping is?
- 4:09Yeah.
- 4:10So zone skipping, if I'm shipping from Pennsylvania and I ship within 300 miles, I'm a zone two.
- 4:16Right.
- 4:16And that's usually the cheapest.
- 4:18But your zone, your rate cards go zones to Zone 8.
- 4:20Right.
- 4:21If I'm going to Seattle, Washington from there, I'm probably Zone 8.
- 4:24Sure.
- 4:24All the prices go up as the zone goes up.
- 4:26Well, if I take that same two pound package and I inject it in Reno or out west somewhere at a distribution center there, that might now be a zone 3 or 4.
- 4:35So I take it from an 8 to like a 4.
- 4:37So my cost might go, we'll just say $5 to 450.
- 4:40We'll just say so because it's less miles the carrier has to go.
- 4:44So but we'll, because of, you know, the density and consolidating the volume going, we can move it there maybe that 50 cents.
- 4:52We can move maybe 20 cents a package.
- 4:53So then you just do 30 cents.
- 4:55Just, you know, just real.
- 4:56This is why you're handling that and not me.
- 4:58I see.
- 4:58So, so that's, that's good.
- 4:59Yeah, but that's where the zone skipping is important because it lowers the zone stuff.
- 5:04Right.
- 5:04What's big about that?
- 5:05Which I'm just to add to what Gerry just said.
- 5:08What's, what's really important about the zone skipping.
- 5:10You need dense volume.
- 5:11You need good volume to do it.
- 5:13You can't do it with two or five hundred items a day.
- 5:15We have a, we have a number that we're looking at per year where we will be fully optimized.
- 5:22Cooking with gas, ready to go.
- 5:24Costs will be there, but we're forward costing everything.
- 5:27Right.
- 5:27Let's give the benefit to the customer right away.
- 5:30Let's make sure it's something we could bring on customers for.
- 5:33Salespeople are saying to us, and they're coming to us every other day and every other week saying, when is it going to be ready?
- 5:40I have, there's 20 clients that we have right now in the queue ready to come on, pull the trigger.
- 5:47And we're just going through and just making sure it's set up properly.
- 5:50Okay.
- 5:51And we're being very careful not to make sure, making sure that we're not going to be launching it during peak, let's launch it right after peak.
- 5:58Have everything down.
- 5:59We have the carrier leverage balance in place and we have some more time to get on those, those additional regional carriers that we're looking for.
- 6:07Okay, so, so let's talk a.
- 6:09Let's just.
- 6:10It's not in your notes, by the way.
- 6:11I'm.
- 6:11Yeah, yeah.
- 6:12I'm going rogue.
- 6:13I'm going rogue.
- 6:14So let's talk about ICP when it comes to this product.
- 6:18So your ideal customer profile, what does that look like for those that might be viewing, you know, watching, listening, whatever that is.
- 6:24That's one of my favorite questions.
- 6:26Right.
- 6:27And I, and I ask that all the time.
- 6:29And I like to give that answer.
- 6:30It's anybody that has 1,000 to 2,000 pieces a day utilizing USPS ground advantage, that needs a better Service at a lower price point.
- 6:40That's an ideal customer for us.
- 6:42Great.
- 6:43Okay.
- 6:441,000 to 2,000 per day using USPS.
- 6:46Ground advantage or some of our.
- 6:49Or UPS or FedEx.
- 6:50UPS, FedEx.
- 6:52High price point.
- 6:53And our competitors, Kerrangs.
- 6:55All right, Jason, do you have any other questions or anything you want to know?
- 6:58I just.
- 6:59I think, you know, it's a product that I think Asendia is going to be really proud of in the next year or two as it comes online and really starts to grow and hit its stride.
- 7:07And I think you guys have done a great job standing it up and.
- 7:10And creating it, and I'm excited to see how far you guys could take it.
- 7:14Yeah, I love learning about the middle mile.
- 7:16I think that's.
- 7:16That's going to be huge.
- 7:17Yes.
- 7:18And that.
- 7:18That's.
- 7:19That could be something that, in terms of our value prop, isn't something that we necessarily would dive into in a client conversation unless we needed to.
- 7:27But in terms of pricing, that could seriously set us apart.
- 7:30When you're looking at that ideal customer, if you're evaluating their book of business or their volumes, that'll be a huge advantage.
- 7:39You all heard it first From Doug Longobarti.
- 7:41January 1, 2027, is the firm launch date, so it's on him.
- 7:47If it doesn't happen, I'm just gonna put it down on the camera right there.
- 7:51So.
- 7:51All right, thank you both very much for being.
- 7:53Any final thoughts that you guys want to add before we close out?
- 7:56This is probably one of our biggest initiatives.
- 7:59Top three initiatives for 2027.
- 8:02We're geared up.
- 8:03We're ready to go.
- 8:04We're meeting on it on a weekly basis and sometimes a couple of times a week to make sure that we're on point to hit that date of January 1st.
- 8:11Okay, Gerry.
- 8:12Outstanding.
- 8:13No, it's just.
- 8:14It's a great time to be doing this because the Final Mile Network is very competitive.
- 8:19Okay.
- 8:19Very competitive pricing and equality.
- 8:21So it's a great opportunity because it gives us a lot of flexibility to really get the best solution out there, you know?
- 8:28So I.
- 8:29It's a.
- 8:29I'd rather be doing this now than when we were in Covid.
- 8:31Right, sure.
- 8:33Like, we couldn't get a carrier pickup prices were crazy.
- 8:35But there's so much capacity now.
- 8:37You know, you got doordash, you got Amazon, you got all these people that are in different niches trying to do final mile delivery.
- 8:44So it's very interesting.
- 8:46And it's evolving.
- 8:47It's still evolving.
- 8:48So it's fun times.
- 8:49To be doing this.
- 8:50Love it.
- 8:50Okay.
- 8:51One last thing I have to say is, Nick, big things are expected from you with this product, and I know you're gonna kill it on the sales front.
- 8:59All right, you gave it back.
- 9:00You volleyed it back.
- 9:01Let's cross it up.
- 9:02That's fine.
- 9:03Okay.
