  Speaker 1: let's jump into prayer real quick. Lord Father that art

  Speaker 1: in heaven, I come to you in prayer to be

  Speaker 1: able to have the Holy Spirit be able to speak
• 0:43
  Speaker 1: through this mic and go through the listener's ears and

  Speaker 1: reach their hearts and minds and be able to apply

  Speaker 1: these verses from Mark chapter 14 to their lives. In

  Speaker 1: the Lord Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen. So let's

  Speaker 1: just go ahead and dive in. it is titled the

  Speaker 1: jewish leaders want to kill jesus again if you want
• 1:08
  Speaker 1: to read along as you hear along grab your bibles

  Speaker 1: or get on your bible app verse one states it

  Speaker 1: was now two days before the past over festival it

  Speaker 1: was the time when jews ate flat bread which has

  Speaker 1: no yeast in it the leaders of the priests and

  Speaker 1: the teachers of god's law wanted to kill jesus But

  Speaker 1: they wanted to take hold of him secretly. So they
• 1:35
  Speaker 1: tried to decide how they could do that. They said
• 1:40
  Speaker 1: to each other, we do not want to do it
• 1:43
  Speaker 1: during the festival. If we do that, the people will
• 1:46
  Speaker 1: be angry. Then they may fight against us. As you

  Speaker 1: can see, the religious leaders were afraid of the people.

  Speaker 1: Because there was a lot of people that eyewitnessed what

  Speaker 1: Jesus has done in his ministry. With the miracles and
• 2:11
  Speaker 1: the teachings. And they were afraid of him as well.

  Speaker 1: Whatever opinion or whatever they thought of Jesus, it did
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: not bother Jesus one bit. And that's what we have to...

  Speaker 1: take into consideration out of not only these verses that
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: we're about to go over, but Jesus' life. He had purpose.

  Speaker 1: He had authority. He was tapped in to his Father.

  Speaker 1: And not only that, he was a born leader. He
• 2:46
  Speaker 1: was meant to do this. A lot of us are
• 2:49
  Speaker 1: born leaders. And we're not leading correctly. And I say that,

  Speaker 1: you know, respectfully. I don't pass judgments. I don't even
• 2:59
  Speaker 1: let my opinions hold as much value as they used to.

  Speaker 1: I'm learning each and every day with you on these

  Speaker 1: episodes as well. I'm in recovery for drinking and using.

  Speaker 1: So I just want to make that clear as well.

  Speaker 1: I'm not some just magical Bible reader or thumper. No,

  Speaker 1: I am just kind of Your average addict that. Decided
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: to go another route. Because the other routes weren't working.

  Speaker 1: And I'm going a little too on and on. And

  Speaker 1: mumbling a little bit. So I want to keep it moving.

  Speaker 1: It's titled. Before verse 3. A woman pours expensive oil
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: on Jesus' head. Then Jesus went to Bethlehem. And he visited. Simon.

  Speaker 1: At his house. At one. time, Simon had a bad
• 4:00
  Speaker 1: skin disease. While Jesus was eating a meal there, a
• 4:04
  Speaker 1: woman came into the house. She brought a small stone
• 4:08
  Speaker 1: jar that contained expensive oil with a very nice smell.

  Speaker 1: They used nard to make it. The woman broke the
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: jar to open it. Then she poured the oil over
• 4:21
  Speaker 1: Jesus' head. And we wonder where we get that. blessed oil, right, idea.

  Speaker 1: And it's almost as if that was a sign of
• 4:39
  Speaker 1: Jesus being able to accept, in a sense, that people
• 4:46
  Speaker 1: knew who he was. And also, to be able to
• 4:52
  Speaker 1: be where Sorry, there's going to be some music that
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: goes by. That's just the way it is. Everybody wants attention.

  Speaker 1: I ain't giving nobody no attention. Besides the Lord right now. So,

  Speaker 1: with that being said, the oil being on Jesus' head

  Speaker 1: is how we have blessed. From the elders, right? So,

  Speaker 1: the woman had a purpose. She also had a choice.
• 5:29
  Speaker 1: She wanted to show that she believed in Jesus. And
• 5:34
  Speaker 1: that's what we can do for our fellows today. We
• 5:38
  Speaker 1: can give encouragement. We can have a lending ear. Even
• 5:43
  Speaker 1: though we get moody and we get into our situations,
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: overwhelm us sometimes. We need to lean more on Jesus.
• 5:53
  Speaker 1: How do we do that? I can get into that.
• 5:59
  Speaker 1: By praying to him, simply praying to him. As you
• 6:02
  Speaker 1: would talk to somebody that you're comfortable with telling everything.
• 6:06
  Speaker 1: And being yourself. Keep that in mind as we move forward.

  Speaker 1: Because there's more that goes with that. But Jesus said,
• 6:14
  Speaker 1: do not speak to her like that. And this is,
• 6:22
  Speaker 1: I went a little further. Sorry, so Mark chapter 14
• 6:27
  Speaker 1: verse 5 states she could have sold it and it
• 6:30
  Speaker 1: could have given and could have given the money to
• 6:33
  Speaker 1: the poor people. She could have sold it for more
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: than 300 silver coins. That's some expensive oil. A man
• 6:42
  Speaker 1: would have to work for a year to get that
• 6:44
  Speaker 1: much money. So they spoke angrily to the woman. Oh,
• 6:50
  Speaker 1: but here comes Jesus. But Jesus said, Do not speak
• 6:54
  Speaker 1: to her like that. Do not cause trouble for her.
• 6:59
  Speaker 1: She has done a good thing to me. You will
• 7:06
  Speaker 1: always have poor people with you. You can help them
• 7:11
  Speaker 1: at any time that you want. But you will not
• 7:15
  Speaker 1: always have me with you. Ooh, this is deep. This woman...

  Speaker 1: Did what she was able to do. She poured oil
• 7:24
  Speaker 1: over my body. So now my body will be ready.

  Speaker 1: For people to bury me. I tell you this. Everywhere
• 7:32
  Speaker 1: in the world. People will speak about God's good news.

  Speaker 1: At the same time. They will also tell people. About
• 7:42
  Speaker 1: the good thing that this woman. Has done. And so

  Speaker 1: they will remember her. for anointing oil oil being anointed

  Speaker 1: after it hit Jesus see Jesus knew what was coming

  Speaker 1: knew the assignment and we can get deeper into why

  Speaker 1: he was crucified but a lot of you that are

  Speaker 1: listening already know a lot of you listening already believe

  Speaker 1: a lot of you listening already follow Jesus Now, the
• 8:23
  Speaker 1: thing that's on my heart is that you criticize your
• 8:27
  Speaker 1: own self. Somebody's listening. That really criticizes themselves for following Jesus,
• 8:38
  Speaker 1: thinking they don't do enough. They don't do right. There's
• 8:42
  Speaker 1: no good deed that you could do that could satisfy God, Jesus,
• 8:48
  Speaker 1: and the Holy Spirit. There's nothing that you can do.
• 8:51
  Speaker 1: It's already been done. Whether it's been done by Jesus
• 8:56
  Speaker 1: or his disciples... The only priority... For a follower of Christ...

  Speaker 1: And we'll even throw in the believer as well. But
• 9:11
  Speaker 1: there's stages to this. The only purpose... Is to spread
• 9:17
  Speaker 1: the news... About Jesus Christ. Having the relationship. The New Testament.

  Speaker 1: I'm not knocking down. Or knocking the Old Testament. But
• 9:29
  Speaker 1: we got a new covenant. Something to. Look forward to.

  Speaker 1: When we speak about heaven. Some people are afraid to die.
• 9:47
  Speaker 1: That's because they're not in line. Not in line with
• 9:51
  Speaker 1: what God really wants them to do. So keeping this
• 9:56
  Speaker 1: in your mind. I know that I'm kind of jumping

  Speaker 1: around and I'm doing a lot of preaching and teaching.

  Speaker 1: But more preaching on this episode. I want to see

  Speaker 1: just keep one thing in mind. This is The Ember Show.

  Speaker 1: this forever? Probably not. It's going to get even more intense.

  Speaker 1: It's going to get even more expanded. Because of my consistency.

  Speaker 1: So Mark chapter 14 verse 10. And it is titled beforehand.

  Speaker 1: I love these titles. Judas agrees to give Jesus to
• 10:53
  Speaker 1: his enemies. Verse 10. Then Judas, I correct, went to
• 10:58
  Speaker 1: the leaders of the priests. He said that he would
• 11:02
  Speaker 1: help them to take hold of Jesus. Judas was one
• 11:07
  Speaker 1: of the Jesus' twelve apostles. The leaders of the priests
• 11:13
  Speaker 1: were very happy about this. They promised to give Judas
• 11:16
  Speaker 1: some money. Judas waited patiently. or the right moment to
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: help them to take a hold of Jesus. Hmm. It's
• 11:24
  Speaker 1: kind of interesting how Jesus chose Judas. Right? So we
• 11:39
  Speaker 1: talk about the 12 apostles. Well, we really should talk
• 11:45
  Speaker 1: about the 11. But you want to know what? Judas' part...
• 11:56
  Speaker 1: Was a part of the plan. And as much... As...
• 12:07
  Speaker 1: Jesus knew it was coming... At the Last Supper... He
• 12:10
  Speaker 1: didn't necessarily know which one it was going to be.
• 12:13
  Speaker 1: But then towards the end... Right... After praying in the wilderness,
• 12:21
  Speaker 1: after everyone fell asleep, all the other apostles, he had
• 12:28
  Speaker 1: a psychic vision. A psychic vision of Judas and all
• 12:34
  Speaker 1: the soldiers around Jesus and Judas. Judas gives him the
• 12:41
  Speaker 1: kiss on the cheek, right? And Jesus allowed it. What
• 12:47
  Speaker 1: is that telling when it comes to our enemies, right?
• 12:53
  Speaker 1: We accept what they give us. Turning the other cheek,
• 12:58
  Speaker 1: you've heard that. But I want you to really take
• 13:01
  Speaker 1: this in, and I'm going to go ahead and close
• 13:03
  Speaker 1: out on that. There's a reason why the Bible says,
• 13:07
  Speaker 1: and I've got two minutes, Love thy enemies as you
• 13:11
  Speaker 1: love thyself. Because no matter what, we'll all have enemies.
• 13:20
  Speaker 1: Not everybody's going to like us. Not everybody's going to
• 13:23
  Speaker 1: love us. But what does that mean? We should treat
• 13:26
  Speaker 1: them the same way? No. No. That's being contaminated by
• 13:33
  Speaker 1: the enemy. That's being hateful. What you should focus your
• 13:46
  Speaker 1: attention on is hating the sin. Let's talk about the betrayal.
• 13:52
  Speaker 1: Let's talk about what made Judas do it. Right? He
• 14:01
  Speaker 1: thought that money, that money would hold him off and
• 14:04
  Speaker 1: that money would be worth it. How many of us
• 14:12
  Speaker 1: have hurt people because of money? How many of us
• 14:17
  Speaker 1: have let money get the best of us? So, we
• 14:23
  Speaker 1: don't have any room to talk about how Judas, because
• 14:27
  Speaker 1: a lot of us have Judas in us. We betray
• 14:31
  Speaker 1: the people that love us. We betray the people that
• 14:34
  Speaker 1: we love. We hurt the people that we love. People
• 14:39
  Speaker 1: that love us hurt us. And that's where forgiveness comes in.
• 14:43
  Speaker 1: And I want to leave it at this. You have
• 14:48
  Speaker 1: a purpose. It's up to you to find it. This
• 14:54
