- 2:46Speaker 5: I went to Tampa and I got to see Romantics,
- 2:49Speaker 5: Christopher Cross and Toto.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Wow, my god, my brother in.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Law is playing sacks in Christopher Cross's band. Okay, so
- 2:59Speaker 5: got to see my brother in law there, and you know,
- 3:02Speaker 5: did the backstage thing.
- 3:03Speaker 2: That was kind of fun. Nice. Got to hang out
- 3:05Speaker 2: with Christopher Cross again again? Was he cool again? He
- 3:08Speaker 2: was cool again? Yeah? Do you call him like C
- 3:10Speaker 2: C now at this point? You know what, that's great
- 3:14Speaker 2: When we text, I.
- 3:17Speaker 5: All right, just the two letters are C E C No,
- 3:20Speaker 5: see you, I would say the two letters okay, Yeah,
- 3:22Speaker 5: I know a lot of c cs that you know, husband, Yeah,
- 3:26Speaker 5: he's a C C.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Yeah, he is a CC.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Don't forget about pizza. Yeah, yeah, got the pizza pot exactly.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Don't forget about pizza for sure.
- 3:35Speaker 6: C C.
- 3:36Speaker 5: Deville from Poison, of course, don't forget him. Yeah yeah yeah,
- 3:39Speaker 5: big one CC rider, right. Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Of the three shows, which was the best?
- 3:43Speaker 7: Who?
- 3:43Speaker 2: Who? Who did the best?
- 3:45Speaker 8: Well?
- 3:46Speaker 5: I would say, uh, christ Well, I only saw total
- 3:50Speaker 5: I only saw the last two songs because we were
- 3:53Speaker 5: behind the stage for most of that.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Oh I got you. Okay, yeah, we saw him again
- 3:57Speaker 2: last year. But what I came out? They played Hold
- 4:01Speaker 2: the Line and then Africa.
- 4:02Speaker 5: I caught the last two songs, and I mean, Luca
- 4:05Speaker 5: her is just on point this sound, because this sound
- 4:09Speaker 5: was perfect.
- 4:10Speaker 2: It's just they nailed that.
- 4:11Speaker 5: Joe Williams, we interviewed him, Yeah, a couple of years ago.
- 4:14Speaker 5: And you know it was just that they were they
- 4:17Speaker 5: sound so good.
- 4:18Speaker 2: How are the romantics? Man?
- 4:19Speaker 9: I mean that.
- 4:19Speaker 10: You know.
- 4:19Speaker 2: The funny thing is they had that. I think they
- 4:21Speaker 2: had two songs, of course, real big song. The first
- 4:25Speaker 2: one is, uh, well, talking in your Sleep, Yeah, was
- 4:28Speaker 2: their biggest charting hit.
- 4:29Speaker 5: That was their penultimate song. And then the final song
- 4:32Speaker 5: they played was what I Like About Yeah to me
- 4:35Speaker 5: is their best song, but their biggest hit was Talking
- 4:39Speaker 5: in your Sleep And those were the last two songs
- 4:42Speaker 5: of their set forty five minutes set forty five minutes
- 4:46Speaker 5: set of other stuff and then the song correct and
- 4:48Speaker 5: you know what it's funny about all the other songs
- 4:51Speaker 5: I could hear elements of Talking in your Sleep like
- 4:56Speaker 5: or what I Like About You? Like everyone sound familiar? Yeah,
- 5:00Speaker 5: that sounds funny. Yeah, And uh who was the other one?
- 5:03Speaker 5: It was a Toto Christopher Cross and Cross right he
- 5:06Speaker 5: how long did did he headline to no Toto headline?
- 5:10Speaker 5: He played an hour? Yeah, he played an hour and
- 5:13Speaker 5: it's it's just all the hits. Yeah, and uh, that
- 5:16Speaker 5: was great. My brother in law is like featured on
- 5:18Speaker 5: a lot of it's a lot of solos in.
- 5:21Speaker 2: That underwear up stage.
- 5:23Speaker 5: I did not, Yeah, I did not yacht rock o
- 5:26Speaker 5: d Yeah, but he got to take it. So that
- 5:28Speaker 5: was like like ten throw center.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Did you hear Rosanna?
- 5:33Speaker 5: I from backstage? I heard it was the second It
- 5:35Speaker 5: was the second song they played, dumb Move. Yeah, that
- 5:39Speaker 5: song gonna be upfront. That song is timeless. I will
- 5:42Speaker 5: always defend that baseline.
- 5:44Speaker 4: It's so funny. Every song he loves from hate it's funny.
- 5:49Speaker 5: And because we also took my my oldest daughter and
- 5:52Speaker 5: her boyfriend who's a big Toto fan. He's from Argentina.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Oh wow, but he's a huge Toto fan. So it's like,
- 5:59Speaker 5: you know, he got to have that opportunity. That was
- 6:01Speaker 5: pretty cool.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Would you do?
- 6:03Speaker 4: We did some stuff around the house, all right to
- 6:09Speaker 4: me have I we well, you have projects around the house, right, Yeah,
- 6:13Speaker 4: so you've seen our houses about the size of a
- 6:15Speaker 4: post stamp.
- 6:17Speaker 2: So so that didn't take you long then. Yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 4: You wouldn't think, right, you wouldn't think this.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Is why she's in the miniatures. Yeah, yeah, yeah, she
- 6:24Speaker 2: lives the one. Yeah, that's the only way to fit
- 6:26Speaker 2: every day exactly. My wife's birthday party this weekend and
- 6:31Speaker 2: exactly tomorrow we celebrated because it was the only day
- 6:34Speaker 2: we could do it. Well, yeah, take it back then,
- 6:36Speaker 2: I tell you right exactly, I'll say it tomorrow. Then
- 6:39Speaker 2: I'll text her a voice memo. Yeah, that'd be thirtieth. Yeahah,
- 6:43Speaker 2: that'd be thirtieth. Right, yeah, all right, four seven nine
- 6:46Speaker 2: one six one o four one. You can always text
- 6:48Speaker 2: us at seven to seven A zero three one. I
- 6:51Speaker 2: do have a bunch of stuff to talk about today,
- 6:53Speaker 2: but we have a stacked up show call. It's coming
- 6:55Speaker 2: in today. Collette Fair. She is the relationship expert. You
- 6:59Speaker 2: hear her on Thursday the Nights Here with Love Thy
- 7:01Speaker 2: Neighbor with Eurybuddy's Tom and Dan. She's dropping by for
- 7:04Speaker 2: a couple of segments today, And to be honest with you,
- 7:06Speaker 2: I have nothing to talk to her about. She's just
- 7:08Speaker 2: gonna come in and hang out. We're gonna ask relationships
- 7:10Speaker 2: questions and see how it goes. We can take some
- 7:13Speaker 2: via text or whatever. But I do not have a
- 7:15Speaker 2: topic to talk to about. Yeah, yeah, I'll just talk
- 7:19Speaker 2: about what's going on in your life. Well, you just.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Mentioned the birthday party and then just kind of like yep,
- 7:24Speaker 4: we got a staff program coming up for you today.
- 7:26Speaker 4: I'm like, yeah, yeah, I guess the party went pretty good.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I guess that's a trap, though, Jim, you can't be
- 7:32Speaker 3: having us just go ahead and asking the relationship person.
- 7:35Speaker 3: We can go ahead and sound like, oh, texting service
- 7:37Speaker 3: came in with this one. It's gonna sound like it's
- 7:40Speaker 3: from us. This is a good point, that's the case.
- 7:43Speaker 3: We can just make up the worst stuff ever. Yeah,
- 7:45Speaker 3: all right.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Texan Service says that probably shouldn't leave a number two
- 7:49Speaker 2: in the toilet for a day. Yeah. Texas Service says
- 7:52Speaker 2: that my wife should get over the whole Tailgate thing.
- 7:56Speaker 3: And someone's wife out there, not Milye. There's nothing to
- 7:59Speaker 3: do with me or Mike Delgate issue. This is gonna
- 8:01Speaker 3: be a session. Yeah, so we'll talk to her. We
- 8:04Speaker 3: also have Emily the movie Girl. Have you been in
- 8:06Speaker 3: with Emily before?
- 8:07Speaker 2: I believe one other time? Yeah. Yeah, she'll be in today.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Of course that's a Monday thing. Good. Ray Trenley Sports
- 8:13Speaker 2: will be in And of course I know Jack you
- 8:14Speaker 2: saw the Ossey this weekend? I did so, did you really?
- 8:17Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Nice, I haven't seen it yet. We were supposed to
- 8:19Speaker 2: go this weekend schedule got way out of whack. Probably
- 8:22Speaker 2: gonna see it this week, who knows, waiting for her
- 8:24Speaker 2: to be out of theaters. No, God, I know that's
- 8:26Speaker 2: so stupid. You're one hundred percent right.
- 8:29Speaker 5: And see it in Imax, dude, and uh, we're gonna
- 8:32Speaker 5: get the review I believe of the new Spider Man
- 8:34Speaker 5: flick that just went ham this weekend in the in
- 8:38Speaker 5: the theater.
- 8:38Speaker 2: I don't know if you guys seen the numbers. I
- 8:40Speaker 2: have seen the numbers.
- 8:41Speaker 3: I've also seen the reviewers that I trust gush over
- 8:45Speaker 3: the Spider Man.
- 8:46Speaker 2: That's wild because I didn't see a bunch. Here's what
- 8:49Speaker 2: they said about it. They didn't say anything bad. They
- 8:51Speaker 2: just said, this is a very introspective Spider Man, like
- 8:55Speaker 2: you're trying to figure himself out or whatever.
- 8:57Speaker 3: And I'm like, I don't know, Well, we saw will
- 8:58Speaker 3: Be Maguire with bang. Yeah, I don't think we're doing
- 9:01Speaker 3: that again. I was just say, I don't know.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I guess Spiderman fans do what that kind of thing,
- 9:06Speaker 2: because I mean, it made so much money this week
- 9:07Speaker 2: and it's embarrassing.
- 9:08Speaker 5: And also this weekend for inevitably me seeing this movie,
- 9:12Speaker 5: the Spider Man movie, I watched the first Spider Man
- 9:15Speaker 5: with Tom holland Homecoming, the first full movie. I know
- 9:19Speaker 5: he was introduced in one of the Avengers movies War okay, whatever,
- 9:24Speaker 5: and that's nerd and also Coge.
- 9:29Speaker 2: I know he is right. I did look it up.
- 9:32Speaker 2: He's right.
- 9:33Speaker 5: But then so I watched Homecoming and I was like, oh,
- 9:36Speaker 5: he's annoying as well. Oh yeah, really, well because he
- 9:41Speaker 5: has this youthful he's supposed to.
- 9:43Speaker 2: He's annoying because he's young. Yes, you know what. I
- 9:46Speaker 2: think he's annoying to do that. He talks a lot,
- 9:48Speaker 2: make stupid mistakes, just like any teenager. Wk. Yeah, so
- 9:51Speaker 2: I mean he nailed it with that.
- 9:53Speaker 5: So but I think I should see the other movies
- 9:56Speaker 5: before you see that one.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Yeah? Is that how? That's not how Marvel movies work usually,
- 10:00Speaker 2: is it?
- 10:01Speaker 7: Me?
- 10:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't have to No, no, no, I heard
- 10:04Speaker 2: who stop for a second. So you're telling me to
- 10:07Speaker 2: watch this Spider Man, I have to go back and
- 10:09Speaker 2: watch the originalman. Toby maguire, Do you know after the
- 10:12Speaker 2: third one? It wouldn't hurt.
- 10:14Speaker 7: No.
- 10:16Speaker 2: What I'm saying is they don't they like Okay, it's
- 10:18Speaker 2: Spider Man. Let's find out who the bad guy is
- 10:20Speaker 2: let's find out what what the bad guy's about to
- 10:22Speaker 2: do to his girlfriend, and let's find out how he's
- 10:24Speaker 2: gonna go rescue her from the bad guy.
- 10:25Speaker 5: That's the movie, right, all the movies, every time they've
- 10:28Speaker 5: reboot it with a different Spider Man. Then you have
- 10:31Speaker 5: to find out how he got his spider powers.
- 10:33Speaker 2: We know the story. You don't know, they know the
- 10:35Speaker 2: story any Active Spider It's the same thing every time.
- 10:38Speaker 3: And you know what, so you know, Marvel agrees with
- 10:42Speaker 3: you because they did not show really the origin of
- 10:44Speaker 3: Tom Holland becoming Spider Man. I mean, they've told that
- 10:46Speaker 3: story a bunch and I just skipped right to the
- 10:48Speaker 3: good just introduced the bad guy, you know, make the
- 10:51Speaker 3: bad guy do something completely bad guy like, and then
- 10:54Speaker 3: have him come save the day. There you go, there's
- 10:56Speaker 3: an hour and forty five minute movie. That's that's pretty
- 10:59Speaker 3: much the that's the template, is it not? So like
- 11:02Speaker 3: you don't need to see the Toby Maguire Andrew Garfield's
- 11:05Speaker 3: want to enjoy the MCU. However, it also does help
- 11:10Speaker 3: at this point without trying to spoil anything, I.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Know, you're the only thing about the Spider Man that
- 11:15Speaker 2: I do not know, and usually in the trailers or
- 11:18Speaker 2: as part of the promotion going in, like who the
- 11:21Speaker 2: bad or what the bad guy is? I have no
- 11:22Speaker 2: idea what the bad guy is in this movie, no
- 11:25Speaker 2: clue at all. Is it a new bad guy?
- 11:27Speaker 3: Well off of I guess the reviewers that you saw
- 11:30Speaker 3: it was something like, I don't know, anxiety and seasonal.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Depression, Spider Man fights an overbearing mother, Spider Man figures
- 11:39Speaker 2: out ten ninety nine's or is that just me? Spider
- 11:44Speaker 2: Man Colon looking for dad's approval. That's what it sounds
- 11:49Speaker 2: like to me. Gave up on uncles. Yeah, spider Man
- 11:55Speaker 2: Colon had a weird experience in Boy Scouts.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm for the Spider Man movie. I think Tom
- 12:01Speaker 3: Holland is legit. I think all of the Spider Man
- 12:04Speaker 3: we've been very lucky as Spider Man fans of being like.
- 12:07Speaker 2: They've all been really, really good.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I don't care if anybody hates me for saying I
- 12:12Speaker 3: liked Andrew Garfield. I like those two movies. Shoot me
- 12:16Speaker 3: and he had my comments. I don't care.
- 12:17Speaker 2: But the Marvel, the Marvel universe doesn't believe that. They
- 12:20Speaker 2: think those are the two worst kind of like, uh,
- 12:23Speaker 2: The Batman by Kilmer and George Clooney.
- 12:26Speaker 10: Thing.
- 12:26Speaker 2: That's that's that, that's where that role kind of hides.
- 12:29Speaker 3: And there's a lot of fans for the Sony Andrew Garfield,
- 12:32Speaker 3: but it's objectively speaking, Sony gave up on it.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, they they he didn't even get a trilogy.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Do you feel that way, dever? Do you feel that
- 12:40Speaker 2: Sony gave up on it? Yeah? Absolutely? Okay, very good?

- 14:50Speaker 4: biggest hit. Michigan has reported more than several hundred thousand,
- 14:55Speaker 4: or several hundred cases. There's been about eleven thousand around
- 14:58Speaker 4: the country.
- 14:59Speaker 2: It's a hot bet up there. When they wow last
- 15:01Speaker 2: week when they showed the states that had the most,
- 15:03Speaker 2: it was like that Michigan let little corridor up there
- 15:05Speaker 2: like just was getting killed.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Yeah, there's some states where they had just really bad
- 15:09Speaker 4: clusters of it. It's crazy that the cases had been
- 15:11Speaker 4: reported in forty five states. Now, closer to home, Publics
- 15:15Speaker 4: is recalling all lots of certain berries. The recall covers
- 15:19Speaker 4: greenwise organic hole blueberries. We had talked about that earlier
- 15:23Speaker 4: in July, but now whole mixed berries have been included
- 15:27Speaker 4: to that, and that includes both ten and forty eight
- 15:29Speaker 4: ounce packages. It was placed due to potential ecoli contamination.
- 15:33Speaker 4: The frozen berries were shipped to public's retail stores throughout
- 15:36Speaker 4: eight states, including here in Florida. The berries are no
- 15:39Speaker 4: longer available on shells, but still maybe in customers freezers,
- 15:43Speaker 4: So you should refrain from consuming and either just throw
- 15:46Speaker 4: them out or return them to publics for a refund.
- 15:49Speaker 4: According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the
- 15:52Speaker 4: associated Ecoli outbreak has so far led to four hospitalizations
- 15:57Speaker 4: among twelve cases in two states. Of those cases were
- 16:02Speaker 4: reported out of Florida.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Wow.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Yeah, And we had talked about I mean one woman
- 16:06Speaker 4: who spent like three four weeks and intensive care and
- 16:09Speaker 4: then had to go to a rehab center because she
- 16:11Speaker 4: got so sick from it.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Crazy, all right.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I had time to sneeze. If you're an American, Yeah.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Sneeze. Yep. Yeah, that is a sit on a hard
- 16:22Speaker 2: surface scenario.
- 16:25Speaker 4: I heard recently someone say DEI really stands for diarrhea
- 16:29Speaker 4: everywhere indefinitely.
- 16:32Speaker 2: All right.
- 16:33Speaker 4: Another big story over the weekend as a cybersecurity expert
- 16:36Speaker 4: is warning that artificial intelligence is increasing the risk of
- 16:39Speaker 4: more hacks on the nation's utility systems. Fortunately, no Florida
- 16:44Speaker 4: facilities have been compromised in this latest wave against water
- 16:47Speaker 4: plants in seven states, but info streams Alan Crowitz says
- 16:51Speaker 4: AI is making such hacks difficult to prevent.
- 16:54Speaker 12: By the time they see it get an update out,
- 16:56Speaker 12: the attacks over. So it's a zero day attack. The
- 16:59Speaker 12: day it was did it hit and nobody was ready.
- 17:02Speaker 12: So now we can't come up with a solution for
- 17:04Speaker 12: a particular kind of tack that was never seen. It'll
- 17:06Speaker 12: be too late.
- 17:07Speaker 2: You know when they when they read the story about
- 17:09Speaker 2: you know what that story ross where the AI got
- 17:11Speaker 2: out of its containment area and then went crazy and
- 17:13Speaker 2: immediately hacked another company.
- 17:14Speaker 4: I believe it did it twice yea, yeah, three times.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Every time every time I hear that story, I think
- 17:18Speaker 2: of that ball in uh Men in Black where Will
- 17:22Speaker 2: Smith comes in, knocks that ball over and it just
- 17:24Speaker 2: goes ape s in that lab everything until they get
- 17:28Speaker 2: that one special machine to control that ball. That's what
- 17:31Speaker 2: AI is to me, Like it's something that thing gets out,
- 17:35Speaker 2: it's like a virus, Like who knows what it's going
- 17:36Speaker 2: to do? Oh yeah, there was immediately hacking.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Seriously, I saw a lot of videos like that over
- 17:44Speaker 4: the weekend on Instagram, and one was someone driving a
- 17:46Speaker 4: convertible with an AI agent next to him, who knew
- 17:50Speaker 4: that at their destination he was going to turn the
- 17:52Speaker 4: AI off. And then as they're driving, you can hear
- 17:55Speaker 4: the AI agent's thoughts and when he said Sam has
- 17:58Speaker 4: no family, which would not require a requested invest a
- 18:02Speaker 4: deeper investigation, he reached over and grabbed the handbrake.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Oh no, and stop the car. Yeah, that's definitely a
- 18:08Speaker 2: Will Smith movie. Yeah, well literally, that was that was real.
- 18:11Speaker 3: We're gonna need Will Smith to pull an eye robot
- 18:14Speaker 3: and slap some robot at yeah.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Right, and an Arnold Schwarzenegger from Terminator.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Just make all of them like Chris rock Well crow.
- 18:21Speaker 4: It says the latest attacks we're probably carried out by
- 18:25Speaker 4: a government like Iran because no ransom was requested. The
- 18:29Speaker 4: latest hacks hit Internet controlled systems that regulate treatment chemicals
- 18:33Speaker 4: water pressure. So the problem is is that you know,
- 18:36Speaker 4: you don't know, or they've changed the password and now
- 18:39Speaker 4: you've got raw sewage making it.
- 18:40Speaker 5: En sealine and I'm not that's a warning, that is Yeah,
- 18:45Speaker 5: that sounds pretty important.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Yeah, all right.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Ten million people are without electricity this morning after Cuba's
- 18:52Speaker 4: national power grade completely collapse. The sudden island wide blackout
- 18:56Speaker 4: followed a severe regional outage that had already crippled Havana
- 19:00Speaker 4: and Matanzas. Officials say the crisis has now plunged the
- 19:03Speaker 4: entire country into darkness. Emergency crews blame critical fuel shortages
- 19:08Speaker 4: and deteriorated infrastructure. There's no word yet on when the
- 19:12Speaker 4: power will be restored. Just a good thing. It's not August, right, That's.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Why where you take a whole country camping.
- 19:18Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 19:19Speaker 4: Florida gas prices are moving lower as drivers get some
- 19:23Speaker 4: relief at the pump. Triple A says the statewide average
- 19:25Speaker 4: for regular unletted is now three eighty three a gallon,
- 19:28Speaker 4: down fourteen cents from a week ago, but still two
- 19:31Speaker 4: cents higher than a month ago. Gas Buddy analyst Patrick
- 19:34Speaker 4: d'han says drivers should keep an eye on developments in
- 19:37Speaker 4: the Middle East and Ukraine, which could affect pump prices.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Triple A reports North Florida has these state's lowest gas prices,
- 19:44Speaker 4: and the keys in Palm Beach County have the highest.
- 19:47Speaker 4: You guys fill up anytime soon.
- 19:49Speaker 2: I filled up today. Now's the time, right, Now's a
- 19:51Speaker 2: good time.
- 19:52Speaker 3: And I had the thought of me getting a hybrid
- 19:55Speaker 3: is literally a wash. Why do you say that, because
- 19:58Speaker 3: as soon as I was like, oh my seek in
- 20:00Speaker 3: the gift of the roof.
- 20:01Speaker 2: It's basically like I got a regular call in twenty fifteen. Yeah,
- 20:05Speaker 2: I heard that end of this month, that's supposed to
- 20:07Speaker 2: it could it could get gnarly depending on.
- 20:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what i'd heard as well, that we're supposed
- 20:11Speaker 4: to see gas prices that will even rival what we
- 20:13Speaker 4: saw back in twenty nineteen or twenty twenty two.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Well, well we'll have peace by that.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Early voting is getting underway for Florida's August eighteenth primary election.
- 20:24Speaker 4: State law requires counties to offer early voting from August
- 20:27Speaker 4: A through the fifteenth. Although some counties and including Hillsborough,
- 20:31Speaker 4: Miami Dade, and Orange, began early voting today, State officials
- 20:35Speaker 4: say more than four hundred and sixty eight thousand vote
- 20:38Speaker 4: by mail ballots had already been returned as of July
- 20:42Speaker 4: thirty first. The deadline to request a vote by mail
- 20:45Speaker 4: ballot is Thursday, and Florida's general election is scheduled for
- 20:49Speaker 4: November three.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Saw my first.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Mud slinging campaign on YouTube is going against Byron Donald's.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Oh yeah, all right, So they bring up that this
- 21:00Speaker 3: is Byron Donalds is the candidate who will not debate. Correct, Yes, yeah, yes,
- 21:05Speaker 3: I saw it, And I just whoever put that that
- 21:09Speaker 3: commercial on YouTube together? It's it's working against you because
- 21:13Speaker 3: they started showing him photos like chucking a deuce and
- 21:16Speaker 3: like having a drink and trying to make him seem
- 21:19Speaker 3: like a bad guy. He brought up that he like
- 21:21Speaker 3: got arrested for selling stuff and all that, and I
- 21:24Speaker 3: just thought, like, I know a lot of friends that
- 21:26Speaker 3: are turned on by this commercial. Yeah, like I know
- 21:31Speaker 3: a lot of people that are like, dude, that's a
- 21:33Speaker 3: g right there. They're not the smartest friends of mine,
- 21:35Speaker 3: but they exist and they can vote.
- 21:37Speaker 5: He Byron Donald's adjusted his campaign because his initial ones
- 21:41Speaker 5: the data center thing. Yeah, well he was talking about
- 21:43Speaker 5: fighting data centers. Meanwhile he's taken five million from data centers.
- 21:47Speaker 2: And now saying they're actually going to lower your power bills, right,
- 21:50Speaker 2: something like that.
- 21:51Speaker 5: Also fighting standing up to fight from these mandates from Washington, Buddy,
- 21:57Speaker 5: it's all Republican who was in Washington controlled by your party?
- 22:03Speaker 5: It's like so they kind of twisted the word around
- 22:06Speaker 5: on that.
- 22:07Speaker 4: Now, voters in a new Orange County district have plenty
- 22:10Speaker 4: of candidates to choose from the District seven County Commission
- 22:13Speaker 4: race is the most crowded this year, with twelve candidates.
- 22:17Speaker 4: The district covers Pine Hills, College Park, Maitland, and Rosemont.
- 22:21Speaker 4: All those areas just have so much in common. District
- 22:24Speaker 4: seven and eight were created when voters chose to expand
- 22:27Speaker 4: the commission two years ago. Orange County Democratic Party interim
- 22:30Speaker 4: chair Jared Cornell says this many choices can be overwhelming
- 22:34Speaker 4: for voters. Still, it tells Orlando Sentinel he sees it
- 22:37Speaker 4: as a positive that redistricting was a success.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Yeap, College Park, Pine Hills, same community. All you need
- 22:47Speaker 2: is like forty four beers and you can't tell the difference.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Same community.
- 22:51Speaker 4: After more than an hour of discussion. Speaking of data centers,
- 22:56Speaker 4: Lakeland City commissioners voted four to three to implement a
- 22:59Speaker 4: one year more ratorium aren't large scale AI data center development,
- 23:03Speaker 4: giving city officials time to develop long term regulations for
- 23:06Speaker 4: such facilities. Lakeland Mayor Saya Roberts McCary says she will
- 23:10Speaker 4: not be a spokesperson for data center developers.
- 23:13Speaker 14: They're going to inform elected officials around the country and
- 23:17Speaker 14: let the elected officials be the mouthpieces of their benefits
- 23:20Speaker 14: of data centers, and I thought, well, not this one,
- 23:22Speaker 14: not this elected official.
- 23:23Speaker 15: I'm not the mouthpiece for a data center.
- 23:25Speaker 16: I'm here to represent my community.
- 23:27Speaker 4: So Lakeland's discussion is different from many others that have
- 23:29Speaker 4: been reviewing applications for AI data centers because the city
- 23:33Speaker 4: owns and operates its own electric utility, much like Mount Dora. Pasco,
- 23:37Speaker 4: Citrus and Tornando Counties have already okayed similar moratoriums, while
- 23:41Speaker 4: cities like Northport and Penelas Park are studying the issue.
- 23:46Speaker 4: And you're right before that Byron Donald's was all about
- 23:49Speaker 4: data centers. When you see who's given them as ninety
- 23:51Speaker 4: million dollars. It's a lot of tech bros in there,
- 23:55Speaker 4: all right. A man described as a dangerous suspect understatement
- 23:58Speaker 4: is off the streets of County. Eustace Police arrested Shaquoi
- 24:02Speaker 4: Donovan on Saturday for allegedly trying to kill an officer
- 24:06Speaker 4: near East Quail Ave in South Eustace Street, dragged him
- 24:09Speaker 4: with his car and left him motionless and unconscious in
- 24:12Speaker 4: the road. Donovan thankfully turned himself in. That was the
- 24:15Speaker 4: safest thing he could have done, and He's now facing
- 24:18Speaker 4: charges that include attempted murder of a law enforcement office. Meanwhile,
- 24:23Speaker 4: there may be a development in the investigation into a
- 24:25Speaker 4: deadly double shooting in Vaalusia County. The Land Police say
- 24:28Speaker 4: they executed a search warrant Saturday night at a home
- 24:31Speaker 4: on Lawton Street. It's part of the investigation into the
- 24:34Speaker 4: shooting that killed two teenagers last week on West New
- 24:37Speaker 4: York Avenue. There's no word on what kind of evidence
- 24:40Speaker 4: may have been seized, and no arrest has been announced,
- 24:42Speaker 4: but the DPD says it's following multiple leads and it
- 24:46Speaker 4: turns out those two kids had come into town to
- 24:49Speaker 4: spread the ashes of one of their family dogs.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Good Lord, that's why they were here.
- 24:53Speaker 4: That's why they were in town. That's why they're in town.
- 24:57Speaker 4: And the mother of the young man who was stud
- 25:00Speaker 4: at the citadel said, you know, the killer just robbed
- 25:03Speaker 4: this country of someone who really wanted to make a
- 25:05Speaker 4: difference in the world and wanted to become a really
- 25:07Speaker 4: good soldier.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Unreal man.
- 25:08Speaker 5: But they they they still don't know mold, no, no,
- 25:12Speaker 5: it could be totally random.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, we have no idea.
- 25:15Speaker 4: And it was family members who went out looking for them.
- 25:18Speaker 4: Because they were gone for hours. They were the ones
- 25:20Speaker 4: who actually made the discovery. It's just everything about it
- 25:24Speaker 4: just doesn't make sense. These these kids don't sound like
- 25:27Speaker 4: they were out looking for trouble.
- 25:29Speaker 2: No, you know. I mean, you think a drug deal
- 25:31Speaker 2: gone bad, or maybe a robbery gone bad or something,
- 25:34Speaker 2: and maybe that indication of that. Those no indication.
- 25:37Speaker 4: But it's interesting that they already served a search warren
- 25:39Speaker 4: on a home, so someone knows something.
- 25:43Speaker 9: All right.
- 25:43Speaker 4: Multiple tropical waves are pushing into the ocean, but they're
- 25:46Speaker 4: running straight into a brick wall. Andrew Hagen at the
- 25:49Speaker 4: National Hurricane Center in Miami says a massive plume of
- 25:52Speaker 4: dry Saharan dust is choking out moisture, while fierce al
- 25:55Speaker 4: Nina wind shear is ripping the storms apart before they
- 25:59Speaker 4: can even start.
- 26:00Speaker 17: There is one week trough that we're looking at that
- 26:03Speaker 17: may bring just a few extra showers and thunderstorms to
- 26:07Speaker 17: portions of the southeastern United States late this week and
- 26:10Speaker 17: into the weekend, but it doesn't look like anything too significant.
- 26:14Speaker 4: So the peak of hurricane season spans mid August through
- 26:17Speaker 4: mid October. Mid September is actually the statistical peace.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Yeah right.
- 26:22Speaker 4: This next story is kind of interesting a city of
- 26:24Speaker 4: Lusia County shouldn't expect any help from the sheriff's office
- 26:28Speaker 4: and enforcing a new law. The Deltona City Commission will
- 26:32Speaker 4: meet tonight after recently passing a ban on E bytes
- 26:35Speaker 4: and e scooters for anyone under eighteen. Sheriff Mike Chitwood, though,
- 26:39Speaker 4: has said his office is not going to force the
- 26:41Speaker 4: ban because it doesn't comply with state law.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Oh, I got you.
- 26:45Speaker 4: He also questions how a sixteen year old can be
- 26:48Speaker 4: allowed to drive a car but not a knee bite.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Yeah, they kind of did a little over was it
- 26:54Speaker 2: the bury? Delton? How many times if you said that, buddy,
- 27:03Speaker 2: you know, probably a lot? How many times? One time?
- 27:05Speaker 2: In college? I can answer that question.
- 27:07Speaker 3: And I think that's actually a more complex topic overall,
- 27:12Speaker 3: of like, if you can drive a car at sixteen,
- 27:14Speaker 3: you should be able to drive a scooter, you would think.
- 27:17Speaker 3: But everyone knows what these scooters are doing.
- 27:20Speaker 2: You know how.
- 27:21Speaker 3: I know because I'm one of the bad guys. I'd
- 27:24Speaker 3: be ripping and roaring having a blast on those things.
- 27:27Speaker 3: And I know for a fact I would be a
- 27:29Speaker 3: better driver at sixteen, A better than a than a
- 27:33Speaker 3: worse scooter at sixteen.
- 27:34Speaker 2: By the way, that's also kind of not true either,
- 27:36Speaker 2: because I mean, you have to have a motorcycle endorsement
- 27:39Speaker 2: to drive a motorcycle, even at sixteen years old. You
- 27:42Speaker 2: can't just hop on a motorcycle and drive it in
- 27:44Speaker 2: this country. You have to have an endorsement on your
- 27:46Speaker 2: license to pro that you can do it right. Right,
- 27:48Speaker 2: Like really, yeah, there's having on my license.
- 27:50Speaker 3: There's a level of maturity that I know that I
- 27:54Speaker 3: am lacking when I get onto those scooters. I can
- 27:56Speaker 3: only imagine what I would have done it years old. Scooter.
- 28:02Speaker 3: I'm just saying, I don't want to be the old
- 28:03Speaker 3: crotchety guy here, but like, I think that actually has
- 28:06Speaker 3: some more logic.
- 28:07Speaker 4: We shit would tell Spectrum News thirteen. He's working with
- 28:10Speaker 4: the school district on a training program that students would
- 28:12Speaker 4: be required to take before they can ride their e
- 28:15Speaker 4: bikes to schools. Again, another issue of right, we're trying
- 28:19Speaker 4: to put the toothpaste back into tu you know.
- 28:22Speaker 5: Well, you know what without guidance from the state. Because
- 28:25Speaker 5: the governor passed on it. He had an opportunity to
- 28:27Speaker 5: sign something chose not to, so, like Orange County School District,
- 28:31Speaker 5: there's still with something blocking it from schools. So it's
- 28:33Speaker 5: leaving it out to the smaller communities to kind of
- 28:36Speaker 5: do it. However, when you run kind of run counter
- 28:40Speaker 5: to what current state law is, it's unenforceable. Yeah, and
- 28:43Speaker 5: so it puts these law enforcement officers in this weird
- 28:46Speaker 5: position here, especially when you're a county sheriff, you know,
- 28:50Speaker 5: dealing with the state the county. And now you have
- 28:52Speaker 5: one city saying nope, not not in our town.
- 28:55Speaker 2: And by the way, of all the cities in Lucia
- 28:57Speaker 2: County to be kind of weird of this, boy, you
- 29:00Speaker 2: figure Deltona and be like letter, I mean, Daltona does
- 29:04Speaker 2: not have the reputation of like kind of you know what,
- 29:06Speaker 2: we should hold back a little bit. We shouldn't do
- 29:08Speaker 2: something very cool and fast and no helmet. And then finally,
- 29:12Speaker 2: I think Deltona's city a mandate is like zero helmets.
- 29:17Speaker 4: And they are the county seat. Right, I believe Deltona
- 29:21Speaker 4: is a Volucia County. I think so, well, that'd be wild.
- 29:24Speaker 4: I didn't know that. I think so all right. And
- 29:26Speaker 4: then finally, so finding happiness may require changing your zip code.
- 29:31Speaker 4: A recent wallet hub study ranked one hundred and eighty
- 29:34Speaker 4: two of the US's largest cities based on residents happiness
- 29:38Speaker 4: using factors like income, mental wellbeing, physical health, and social connections.
- 29:44Speaker 4: Keep that in mind when I read out the happiest cities,
- 29:48Speaker 4: because none of that makes sense.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Already mad about it.
- 29:50Speaker 4: Oh yeah, it found the five happiest cities in the
- 29:54Speaker 4: US are If you guys can get any of these,
- 29:57Speaker 4: If any of them.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Can, I let me jall youson. I don't know what's
- 29:59Speaker 2: going on, but if any of those cities are in Ohio,
- 30:03Speaker 2: the entire thing is tainted and unclean. Correct.
- 30:07Speaker 4: Nope, the happiest place. We have five of the happiest
- 30:12Speaker 4: cities in all of the US.
- 30:14Speaker 2: It's weird, and I do not understand it because it
- 30:17Speaker 2: seems a bit restrictive. But for some reason, Utah always
- 30:21Speaker 2: does very well in these things. No Utah, No Utah,
- 30:25Speaker 2: not Salt Lake City, not probo nothing, Nope, go so
- 30:29Speaker 2: out outside the box. You can't even see the box. Detroit,
- 30:33Speaker 2: No Toledo.
- 30:34Speaker 4: No, we already said there's no Ohio.
- 30:36Speaker 2: I was sure I was standing to the mud hens. Yeah,
- 30:44Speaker 2: I'm gonna go. I'll go with like Dallas, Laredo, Texas.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Now Evansville, Indiana, Nope, Peoria, Illinois, Nope.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Fremont, California, Bismarck, North Dakota nobody.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Let's see, nobody's happy up there.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Scottsdale, Arizona.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Okay, man, I think you might find some happier Yeah.
- 31:05Speaker 4: South Burlington, Vermont.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Okay.
- 31:07Speaker 4: That one I can understand.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Cheaped coats, we get it.
- 31:10Speaker 4: But this next one, Fargo, North Dakota.
- 31:14Speaker 2: This is so. Has anyone Dakota. Has anyone seen the
- 31:19Speaker 2: movie Fargo?
- 31:20Speaker 4: There's nothing to see, I've said Paul Bunyan, And isn't there?
- 31:25Speaker 2: Isn't there Summer just a weekend.
- 31:30Speaker 4: It's about seven hours.
- 31:31Speaker 2: I think there's summer is literally a long weekend. It's
- 31:34Speaker 2: one of the prettiest states. But it's hard to enjoy
- 31:37Speaker 2: the beauty of that terrain when the cashier has stags.
- 31:42Speaker 9: That was my.
- 31:43Speaker 3: Experience with both Dakota on dose Dakota's Yeah, Dose Dakota
- 31:48Speaker 3: South was a little bit earlier, but was it.
- 31:52Speaker 2: I believe that there are fewer people in North Dakota
- 31:54Speaker 2: than in Orlando. I think you're right when you look
- 31:56Speaker 2: it up there there's fewer than a million people in
- 31:58Speaker 2: the entire state of North Dakota.
- 32:00Speaker 3: Yeah, that's where I squatted at Arthur Blank's ranch.
- 32:04Speaker 2: You really, dude, I floor. I also think it's either
- 32:07Speaker 2: north or South. Dakota has fewer people per mile than
- 32:12Speaker 2: any other place in America as well, and they actually
- 32:14Speaker 2: have to take it up to like fewer people per
- 32:16Speaker 2: five miles per five square miles. Wow, there's nobody.
- 32:19Speaker 4: There and that concludes your JCS news.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Uh, all right for not bad, buddy, that was phones
- 32:29Speaker 2: not bad. Wow.
- 32:30Speaker 5: North Dakota population estimated at.
- 32:35Speaker 2: F eight hundred and fifteen thousand, eight hundred thousand. Yeah. Wow,
- 32:39Speaker 2: it's that it's actually lowered than because it was actually
- 32:42Speaker 2: in the nines for a long time.
- 32:43Speaker 5: Yeah, it's actually uh, it's last year they raise it.
- 32:47Speaker 5: It's seven hundred ninety nine thousand, three hundred and fifty eight.
- 32:49Speaker 2: It's not much, buddy, And a lot of that is
- 32:52Speaker 2: in just a couple of areas because there's only two
- 32:54Speaker 2: major hubs there and and it's not many people, so
- 32:57Speaker 2: that means most of those people live quite rural. A
- 33:00Speaker 2: lot of jerky, yes, a lot of jerky, yeah, yeah,
- 33:05Speaker 2: a lot of Amazon drone drops all right, seven seven
- 33:08Speaker 2: zero three, one year, three o'clock heward his pre set
- 33:11Speaker 2: in about fifteen minutes or so to slide over to
- 33:13Speaker 2: you real radio dot FM and send that away for
- 33:15Speaker 2: your chance at one thousand dollars back in one sec.
- 33:29Speaker 18: You'll The excuse they give us for running all these
- 33:32Speaker 18: big data centers is to accommodate AI.
- 33:35Speaker 19: If you look at the history of computers just a
- 33:39Speaker 19: few years.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Back, you had to have a whole.
- 33:41Speaker 20: Room full of reels and machines to do what you
- 33:44Speaker 20: can do on a desk right now. So don't think
- 33:47Speaker 20: the day's not coming where you're not gonna need these
- 33:50Speaker 20: data centers to run AI.
- 33:51Speaker 19: You're gonna be running able to run it right off
- 33:53Speaker 19: your desktop.
- 33:54Speaker 6: So you got to ask yourself, why are they building them?
- 33:58Speaker 2: Wow, I look at that. He's true, because remember it
- 34:01Speaker 2: was it was it something What was the original blue?
- 34:05Speaker 2: It wasn't big blue. That was a deep blue deep blue.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Is that the IBM machine that the chess that played chess? Yeah,
- 34:12Speaker 2: the beat Gary Casp were off. But there was another
- 34:14Speaker 2: thing too where they had a different machine at the time,
- 34:17Speaker 2: and it was back in the day. It was it
- 34:20Speaker 2: was a computer that did simple calculations and it was
- 34:23Speaker 2: as big as these two rooms. I think like Cray
- 34:25Speaker 2: supercomputers and there were like three of them or whatever.
- 34:28Speaker 2: But it's yeah, they've gotten smaller and smaller and smaller.
- 34:31Speaker 2: But it does bring up a good point.
- 34:33Speaker 5: If they're investing all this money now in current technology,
- 34:37Speaker 5: does it how long will it be relevant?
- 34:41Speaker 2: And ye, until it becomes obsolete? And don't know because
- 34:43Speaker 2: at again, you you know, just watching the music industry,
- 34:46Speaker 2: how people are, how companies have delivered data to us.
- 34:49Speaker 2: It was just being music. I mean, I'm only I'm
- 34:52Speaker 2: fifty eight years old, sort of listening to music when
- 34:54Speaker 2: I was like sixteen or you know, when I was young,
- 34:56Speaker 2: but you know, eight track cassette, tape, CD, thumb DR stream.
- 35:01Speaker 2: So in every ten years, the way to deliver content
- 35:05Speaker 2: or information to you as a customer has changed dramatically. Yeah. Yeah,
- 35:10Speaker 2: I mean you just think now there are zero no
- 35:13Speaker 2: ways to play external you know, external information in your machine,
- 35:17Speaker 2: other into your car, other than streaming heavy bluetooth.
- 35:21Speaker 3: Have you guys talked or gone down the Rubbers wormhole yet?
- 35:25Speaker 2: Know what the Rubbers wormhole is? By Phoenix Flexing. No,
- 35:28Speaker 2: I'm not going to google it.
- 35:29Speaker 3: I don't know that is, but it's worth a Google
- 35:32Speaker 3: because I believe there's a line that's been crossed that
- 35:36Speaker 3: all of us as a species have We've never seen before. Okay,
- 35:40Speaker 3: we know us as a species humanity, We've never had
- 35:43Speaker 3: any competition.
- 35:44Speaker 2: It's always been against humans, against other humans. We are
- 35:46Speaker 2: the apex predator.
- 35:47Speaker 3: But one of the trendiest, if not the most popular song.
- 35:51Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure it still is, or at least it
- 35:53Speaker 3: was for the last two weeks, is called Rubbers by
- 35:56Speaker 3: Phoenix Flexing, and it's from a rapper and he says
- 35:59Speaker 3: I did this. He's even saying it done it in
- 36:02Speaker 3: front of a camera. Here's the problem. Everyone in the
- 36:06Speaker 3: AI community is going, bro, you did not do this song.
- 36:09Speaker 2: In other words, they say that you use AI to
- 36:11Speaker 2: create that song.
- 36:12Speaker 3: And not only did they use A I'm also team
- 36:15Speaker 3: this is AI And this is the problem.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Still will play it?
- 36:19Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 36:19Speaker 3: Really, that's the threshold and a line that I've always
- 36:22Speaker 3: been concerned about of Like it's not the fact that like, oh,
- 36:25Speaker 3: will you care or not?
- 36:27Speaker 2: Will you come to grips with like damn this.
- 36:30Speaker 9: Is good right or not?
- 36:31Speaker 3: Right second that happens, and like I think about will
- 36:35Speaker 3: smith AI videos?
- 36:36Speaker 2: You guys know what I'm talking about that.
- 36:37Speaker 3: That was always looked at as the evolution of AI
- 36:40Speaker 3: was Will Smith eating pasta right, yes, and once a
- 36:43Speaker 3: year it would go viral and go damn, AI is better.
- 36:47Speaker 3: That was the content of seeing AI grow. But that song,
- 36:52Speaker 3: that song is AI not being the content. The song
- 36:57Speaker 3: is good, the song makes heads bob, and it's catchy
- 37:01Speaker 3: and it worked, and it's surfing all throughout the internet
- 37:04Speaker 3: right now. So what you're saying is really the complication
- 37:07Speaker 3: with all of that is how we perceive it. In
- 37:10Speaker 3: other words, I mean, you could have you come up
- 37:12Speaker 3: with a song via AI. It's the best mental song
- 37:14Speaker 3: you've ever heard. But as a as a human are
- 37:17Speaker 3: you going to accept that? Are you going to like that?
- 37:20Speaker 3: Are you going to purchase that? Are you going to
- 37:22Speaker 3: keep playing it even though a person didn't make it?
- 37:24Speaker 3: And to that for that question or that topic, I
- 37:28Speaker 3: don't even know if it matters anymore, because I think
- 37:31Speaker 3: I remember hearing this a while ago. It takes like
- 37:33Speaker 3: ten percent of a population of a country to take
- 37:36Speaker 3: it over, yeah, to adopt so to adopt something, right, well,
- 37:39Speaker 3: humanity has never had anything spike over zero percent. And
- 37:44Speaker 3: that song is the first time that I can ever
- 37:47Speaker 3: think of where that percent went point four.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Yeah, all of a sudden, our content is in one
- 37:52Speaker 3: thousand percent of us.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Do you think it's because right now they're not forced
- 37:56Speaker 2: to label. I mean, by the way the guy's not
- 37:58Speaker 2: saying it is right, that's the so it's also the
- 38:00Speaker 2: controversy is saying no, we didn't use a So what
- 38:03Speaker 2: you have to ask yourself is, would have many people
- 38:05Speaker 2: would would have as many people enjoyed that or purchased
- 38:09Speaker 2: it or listened to it had they known it was.
- 38:12Speaker 2: In other words, they didn't even give it a chance
- 38:14Speaker 2: to get blowback from customers because they didn't tell anybody
- 38:17Speaker 2: it was.
- 38:17Speaker 5: There's this possible there's this deniability where you can listen
- 38:20Speaker 5: to this, Oh I don't believe it is, but once
- 38:22Speaker 5: they tell you it is, you can't say that.
- 38:24Speaker 3: You have to make a decision on one. Why I
- 38:25Speaker 3: think cards and stacking chips. I saw you sinking chips.
- 38:29Speaker 3: You ever heard that song? Yeah, that song is extremely
- 38:32Speaker 3: popular right now and it is a room device.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Is it charting?
- 38:36Speaker 3: It's bit I would think I would think if it's
- 38:38Speaker 3: not charting, it's about to or just.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Did so let me ask you. Okay, So if you
- 38:42Speaker 2: write a song, I say, using AI, but it's really
- 38:46Speaker 2: I mean, you are still asking the prompt right because
- 38:48Speaker 2: you could say, hey, write a song that sounds like this,
- 38:52Speaker 2: uses this guitar tone. Here are here is the idea
- 38:56Speaker 2: for the song? You know, I left a girl, she
- 38:59Speaker 2: sounded up. You dated my best friend, they broke up,
- 39:01Speaker 2: we got back down to get you know anything? Whatever
- 39:04Speaker 2: does he get credit for that? Like right now, he's
- 39:07Speaker 2: getting credits, writing credit right now. And here's the thing,
- 39:10Speaker 2: because the prompting is the writing, and this is the toothpaste.
- 39:13Speaker 3: Is AI one of the most subjective things I know.
- 39:18Speaker 3: The times that I have used AI, I feel ethically
- 39:21Speaker 3: it's okay, I'm trying to schedule something. How what's the
- 39:25Speaker 3: best way to respond? This is what I'm responding with
- 39:28Speaker 3: an email? But like where the word errors? Like how
- 39:30Speaker 3: do I like? I want to maybe try to use
- 39:33Speaker 3: a different word here.
- 39:34Speaker 5: But it's not like you're a subjective like jokes like
- 39:37Speaker 5: how many different ways can you call someone baald?
- 39:40Speaker 2: I've never done that? And you get the list and
- 39:42Speaker 2: then you keep that with you at work all the time.
- 39:44Speaker 10: Yea.
- 39:45Speaker 3: The times that I've used it, I feel like I've
- 39:47Speaker 3: used it as like a super Google.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, I just that's all I ask. When I
- 39:53Speaker 2: go and ask AI, I'm like, tell me all you
- 39:55Speaker 2: know about this, but and it just spits out everything
- 39:57Speaker 2: you can find about that particular subject and I read
- 39:59Speaker 2: what I want.
- 40:00Speaker 5: It's funny on social when they are selling a pro
- 40:04Speaker 5: like a teaching platform.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Someone is trying to sell a course on AI, They'll
- 40:08Speaker 2: always say, are you just using it like a super
- 40:11Speaker 2: search engine? Everybody is dude, like thirty people not doing that.
- 40:15Speaker 5: It's like, oh, there's so much more, and there is,
- 40:18Speaker 5: but it's how much do you want to get?
- 40:20Speaker 2: When my wife uses it professionally to write back or whatever,
- 40:23Speaker 2: because she has so many email that committed to day,
- 40:25Speaker 2: it's so crazy. By hearing her computer go off is
- 40:28Speaker 2: like just hearing it's like hearing a slot machine payoff,
- 40:30Speaker 2: like every five seconds, right, And she will drop it
- 40:32Speaker 2: in there. But she said that people that she would
- 40:35Speaker 2: respond to, they that people would kind of get weirded
- 40:39Speaker 2: out if it was too perfect. So she asks it
- 40:42Speaker 2: to make mistakes like a normal person would, so that
- 40:46Speaker 2: when she sends the email over it seems more human,
- 40:49Speaker 2: emmonly produced, subjective. And here's the thing. If you're like,
- 40:52Speaker 2: I don't use AI.
- 40:53Speaker 3: If you have an iPhone right now, you're using AI
- 40:56Speaker 3: when I message summarizes your text and then puts it
- 40:59Speaker 3: in that like, hey, this is what it's saying.
- 41:01Speaker 2: That's AI. It's everywhere.
- 41:03Speaker 3: And the biggest problem of it being so subjective is
- 41:06Speaker 3: that there's an argument that this guy just sang that
- 41:09Speaker 3: song into sons, which is an AI music program, right,
- 41:12Speaker 3: and then you can change it whatever way you want.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Does is that considered a AI If you say it
- 41:17Speaker 3: into the microphone.
- 41:18Speaker 2: You can even just say rearrange this so we don't
- 41:20Speaker 2: have any copyright issues. It is a wild song.
- 41:24Speaker 3: Listen to it on the break and tell me that's
- 41:26Speaker 3: not one of the catchiest things you've heard of Want.
- 41:28Speaker 2: We're doing a special version of Thoughts. What's coming up?
- 41:30Speaker 2: All right?
- 41:30Speaker 3: I just came back from Austin and I walked in going, oh,
- 41:33Speaker 3: I do not want to like this city, and.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Boy did I fall in love but wild.
- 41:40Speaker 3: I did some comedy shows with some pretty big trendy comedians.
- 41:43Speaker 3: I think I won their respect over. I feel like
- 41:46Speaker 3: I represented Orlando. But there's plenty of things that I
- 41:49Speaker 3: saw in Austin that I got to give you the
- 41:52Speaker 3: heart to heart, true to true comedy performer review.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Of now did you see any like father and son
- 41:58Speaker 2: duos wearing the same T shirts?
- 42:00Speaker 3: Oh, that's just here in the gymp pulp to choke
- 42:02Speaker 3: because we are definitely wearing the same T shirt.
- 42:04Speaker 2: On accident and a new keyword and special rosslots up next, Jimmy.
- 42:11Speaker 10: They say the early bird gets the worm, but that's
- 42:13Speaker 10: not what I saw Sunday morning, early at the seven eleven,
- 42:16Speaker 10: there were blackbirds raiding the trash cans out by the
- 42:19Speaker 10: gas pumps. I saw hamburgers on the ground, French fries,
- 42:22Speaker 10: breakfast sandwiches. One fat ass bird could barely get his
- 42:25Speaker 10: wings up off the ground so he could pull out
- 42:27Speaker 10: a toasted bagel.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Didn't even know they like toasted bagel.
- 42:30Speaker 7: You know.
- 42:30Speaker 10: The bird had his can in a very nice refreshing
- 42:32Speaker 10: soda and probably enjoyed that tingle in his throat and
- 42:35Speaker 10: in his nose.
- 42:41Speaker 2: Green, that is your four o'clock. You were g R
- 42:45Speaker 2: E E N. Slide over to real radiom and send
- 42:48Speaker 2: that away from your chance at one thousand bucks. Green
- 42:51Speaker 2: is the word, guys, Go get that money. I had
- 42:55Speaker 2: two top packs. Here's the other one.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Mike Larson here, I've benn uh dumped twice.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Uh. This could be a oh my god, and that's it.
- 43:11Speaker 2: That's that he is? He are? We is he still
- 43:13Speaker 2: with us? Don't know? Okay, very good? Don't know. It
- 43:15Speaker 2: sounds like we dumped him. Yeah, hard have been and
- 43:18Speaker 2: alien grab Welcome back to the Jim Colburn Show rote
- 43:20Speaker 2: Radio one O four point one. I'm Jim's dead. Hello.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Check us here as well. And Ross has some early thoughts.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Let's get him.
- 43:27Speaker 9: It's weird.
- 43:27Speaker 2: You gotta wake up.
- 43:28Speaker 9: It's funny to get your cake up. Sometimes it's Ross sauce.
- 43:35Speaker 3: Today's Ross Thaws, it's Ross thoughts. It's brought to you
- 43:39Speaker 3: by that mortgage guy Don. If you don't know how
- 43:41Speaker 3: to refly, well, that mortgage guy Don does.
- 43:44Speaker 2: If you don't know anything.
- 43:45Speaker 3: About mortgage as well, that mortgage guy Don does. He
- 43:48Speaker 3: also has his own radio show every Saturday morning taking
- 43:52Speaker 3: your calls. You gotta listen to it if you're trying
- 43:54Speaker 3: to be moral of an adult like I am. That
- 43:57Speaker 3: mortgage Guy Don dot com is the website you need
- 44:00Speaker 3: to go to.
- 44:01Speaker 2: Jim.
- 44:02Speaker 3: I just had my guess tank refilled. I just I
- 44:06Speaker 3: forgot what the power of travel.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Listen.
- 44:08Speaker 3: I traveled twice in July. The first time it was
- 44:11Speaker 3: just a straight rage party session. It was a vacation.
- 44:15Speaker 2: But when I.
- 44:15Speaker 3: Flew out to Austin, Texas, this new trendy comedy capital
- 44:21Speaker 3: of America right now. And I do not say that jokingly.
- 44:25Speaker 3: It's the capital comedy of America.
- 44:27Speaker 2: It is.
- 44:28Speaker 3: It is unreal. I went out there for actual I'm
- 44:32Speaker 3: proud to say this business.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Yeah, good for you. Wow did you fly business last Frontier?
- 44:39Speaker 2: What does that mean, nice dude? That means did not
- 44:45Speaker 2: bring luggage? Frontier means you actually have to give the
- 44:47Speaker 2: other guests drinks enoughs. Yeah, I actually worked it. They
- 44:51Speaker 2: owe me forty bucks. They draw a seat, and you
- 44:53Speaker 2: worked the plane that day. So I flew there on Frontier.
- 44:55Speaker 2: I go to Austin, Texas.
- 44:56Speaker 3: I was there for business because and I am this
- 45:00Speaker 3: is gonna be probably the least humble ross thoughts I've
- 45:04Speaker 3: ever had on this station, because I was surprised with
- 45:09Speaker 3: all of the comedy. I've been doing stand up comedy
- 45:11Speaker 3: now for seventeen years. That makes me dry heath And
- 45:18Speaker 3: to say that out loud, yeah yeah, and still wear
- 45:21Speaker 3: a backwards hat. It's not a good future. Well, I'm
- 45:24Speaker 3: proud of my comedy career in the sense of meeting
- 45:27Speaker 3: you guys and then doing all these shows all around
- 45:29Speaker 3: central Florida. I never thought that all of the times
- 45:33Speaker 3: telling jokes in Florida, it would make any type of
- 45:35Speaker 3: impact in Austin. Well, here's the thing about the Orlando
- 45:38Speaker 3: comedy scene. From about twenty fifteen to about twenty twenty two,
- 45:43Speaker 3: this comedy scene was cracked out by cracked out, I mean,
- 45:48Speaker 3: it was all killer, no filler.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, we've sent some major players to the
- 45:53Speaker 2: game from this market in the last seven years.
- 45:56Speaker 3: I you and this radio station has played a massive
- 45:59Speaker 3: role in the local scene. And boy did you time
- 46:01Speaker 3: it out right, because there are just from that that
- 46:06Speaker 3: time span people have blown up. Whether it be Cam
- 46:09Speaker 3: Patterson who's now on SNL, a guy who missed an
- 46:13Speaker 3: Ocalla guest spot on a show that I was headlining
- 46:16Speaker 3: no more than five years ago, and I always think
- 46:18Speaker 3: about that poor audience that missed out on a future SNL.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Now, yeah, crazy, and he's out there in Austin.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Long story short, all of these Orlando comedians moved out
- 46:26Speaker 3: to Austin and flourished and a lot of them were
- 46:29Speaker 3: a lot of my feature acts that I gave them
- 46:32Speaker 3: a lot of stage time. So I go out there
- 46:34Speaker 3: and all of a sudden, I'm doing rooms that I
- 46:37Speaker 3: had no idea that I was going to be able
- 46:39Speaker 3: to get on. I did the Vulcan Gas Company, I
- 46:42Speaker 3: did a bunch of these kill Tony regular shows and
- 46:46Speaker 3: throwing this out of here. I'm not the biggest fan
- 46:48Speaker 3: of the program, but I am a huge fan of audiences,
- 46:53Speaker 3: and no matter who's in front of me, I feel
- 46:55Speaker 3: energized to go ahead and perform for him. But I
- 46:58Speaker 3: was out there actually filming a short film.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Wow, what is that?
- 47:04Speaker 3: Less than fifteen minutes? Yeah, it's gonna be about twelve. Yeah,
- 47:07Speaker 3: there is, and it's an insane project. I'll give you
- 47:10Speaker 3: a little premise. A lot of magicians, even more CIA agents.
- 47:15Speaker 2: Okay, very nice to think, makes perfect sense. As Austin,
- 47:18Speaker 2: Texas is weird, buddy, I gotta tell you it is.
- 47:21Speaker 2: If you ever want to just kind of step out
- 47:23Speaker 2: of your norm, go to Austin, just at night, go
- 47:25Speaker 2: to sixth Street in that area downtown, and you will
- 47:28Speaker 2: see humanity like you've not seen it before.
- 47:31Speaker 3: I'm in this short film there's a bunch of names
- 47:34Speaker 3: attached to it, a lot of these killed tony popular people,
- 47:37Speaker 3: whether it's Timmy Nobreak sees the lead in this thing.
- 47:39Speaker 3: I got to work with him. I got to work
- 47:42Speaker 3: be on a comedy show with all of the regulars,
- 47:44Speaker 3: and I'm really proud to say, you boy held his own.
- 47:49Speaker 3: We had some good sets out there. Nice and I
- 47:52Speaker 3: Jack is one of the many people that have asked
- 47:55Speaker 3: me like, so, when are you moving? And my answer
- 47:57Speaker 3: every single time has been when I'm twenty four again.
- 48:01Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 48:02Speaker 3: And what I mean by that is is that this
- 48:04Speaker 3: would be a great time to think every single person
- 48:09Speaker 3: who listens to this radio station, because the one thing
- 48:12Speaker 3: that Austin, Texas does not have is some is a
- 48:15Speaker 3: platform like this.
- 48:16Speaker 2: Yeah, real radio. They don't have a real radio.
- 48:19Speaker 3: And I started talking to everybody who's traveling in from
- 48:22Speaker 3: Austin to go ahead and do these comedy shows that,
- 48:25Speaker 3: to be honest with you, I'm not used to a
- 48:30Speaker 3: that amount of stage time and also that amount of pay.
- 48:32Speaker 3: I've gotten very very lucky here in Central Florida. And
- 48:35Speaker 3: there's nothing once again like traveling and coming back home
- 48:40Speaker 3: and making you fall back in love with your own life.
- 48:45Speaker 3: This Austin trip was filled with business, it was filled
- 48:48Speaker 3: with performing, It was filmed with schmoozing, boozing with comedians
- 48:53Speaker 3: that are way more famous than I, and I got
- 48:57Speaker 3: to come back. And then I show up to this
- 48:59Speaker 3: radio station and I look at Jim accidentally matching the
- 49:04Speaker 3: same exact T shirt, and I go, man, there's no
- 49:08Speaker 3: place like home.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and there's nothing this stupid. There's nothing this stupid
- 49:13Speaker 2: matching T shirts with your good friend at the radio
- 49:16Speaker 2: station Austin is doing that. Yeah, yeah, they got so
- 49:21Speaker 2: many other things they're doing.
- 49:22Speaker 3: That's I walked into the Mothership and one of my
- 49:26Speaker 3: old room school who's also been on this program, Christoff,
- 49:30Speaker 3: is now the door guy, one of the door guys.
- 49:33Speaker 2: At the mother Ship. So he's in Austin now, he's
- 49:35Speaker 2: full time in Austin.
- 49:36Speaker 3: Not know that.
- 49:36Speaker 2: I thought he was still in New York.
- 49:37Speaker 3: And here's the cool thing about being a door guy
- 49:39Speaker 3: at the Motherships for anybody out there who's in the
- 49:42Speaker 3: world of performing. This kind of made me go, wait,
- 49:45Speaker 3: what really was that every door guy and door woman
- 49:52Speaker 3: at the Mothership is I believe they are kind of
- 49:56Speaker 3: forced to take acting classes weekly.
- 49:59Speaker 2: I think wasn't Jolly a door guy out there as well?
- 50:02Speaker 3: Absolutely, yeah, so that whole institution, and boy, yes I
- 50:07Speaker 3: have opinions about it, but it all stops at the
- 50:11Speaker 3: at the door when I hear comedians getting acting classes
- 50:14Speaker 3: and being supported in a way that I have never
- 50:18Speaker 3: I've never seen. I've never seen a city just fall
- 50:21Speaker 3: in love with stand up comedy. Believe the hype. It's
- 50:25Speaker 3: worth a trip. It's so insane out there. Yeah, they
- 50:28Speaker 3: wear that letter quite well, don't they. I mean, that
- 50:30Speaker 3: really has become a hub of the hottest comic time.
- 50:33Speaker 3: I mean, Shane Gillis, you could argue, along with Nate Bargatzy,
- 50:36Speaker 3: you heard the two hottest hottest comedy products on planet
- 50:39Speaker 3: Earth right now.
- 50:39Speaker 2: And you know one is in there. You know on's
- 50:42Speaker 2: in Nashville and one's in Austin. Crazy. It used to
- 50:44Speaker 2: be in New York in LA. Now it's Nashville and Austin.
- 50:47Speaker 10: It is.
- 50:48Speaker 3: It exceeded the hype doing shows with those really really
- 50:52Speaker 3: good comedians.
- 50:53Speaker 2: And just being on a showcase. Everybody cool.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Everyone was very cool because granted I heard some jokes
- 51:00Speaker 3: and I'm like, well, if that thing's a net loss
- 51:01Speaker 3: for society. I don't think you should say that, but hey,
- 51:06Speaker 3: that's and I don't think the audience laughed too much
- 51:09Speaker 3: at it.
- 51:09Speaker 2: I don't think it's worth it. But I'm not there
- 51:11Speaker 2: comedian and they're not mine. Sure, man, that's crazy. Well
- 51:14Speaker 2: that it went well, man, that's awesome news.
- 51:16Speaker 3: So we have one more day of shooting for the
- 51:18Speaker 3: short film. It will be happening down in Florida. I'm
- 51:21Speaker 3: very excited about it.
- 51:22Speaker 2: I'm pumped.
- 51:23Speaker 3: It's one of the cooler, more trendy projects I've ever
- 51:26Speaker 3: gotten offered to do.
- 51:28Speaker 2: And where will this go out? What will happen with
- 51:30Speaker 2: this product once it's edited down, ready to go? I
- 51:32Speaker 2: believe that'slu right, No, I know. I believe it will
- 51:36Speaker 2: be on some film festivals. I believe in the beginning. Yeah,
- 51:39Speaker 2: oh really, it released on YouTube on social ora probably
- 51:43Speaker 2: in like two years.
- 51:44Speaker 3: Oh really, it will hit the internet two years. But
- 51:46Speaker 3: it's going to make its rounds around the film circuit.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Oh so this is a serious thing, like this is
- 51:50Speaker 2: getting kind of introduced into film festivals and things of
- 51:53Speaker 2: that nature. Yeah, we're going They're going for it. What's
- 51:57Speaker 2: the content? Can you share it all?
- 51:58Speaker 3: I mean, I was not joke when I say, like
- 52:01Speaker 3: there's a ton of CIA agents, a ton of magicians.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, good, that's all you need. That's that's all
- 52:08Speaker 2: you It's kind of a half action film. We blew
- 52:10Speaker 2: up a wall. Too much fun. But I and by
- 52:14Speaker 2: the way, for the audience out there, about two years ago,
- 52:17Speaker 2: when I went out to Austin, I came back and
- 52:19Speaker 2: told a story about something that happened in the comedy
- 52:22Speaker 2: club that I thought was one of the most revolting
- 52:24Speaker 2: things I've ever seen in my entire life. And it
- 52:26Speaker 2: is still one of the most revolting. Slash you don't
- 52:31Speaker 2: you can't under It's like you walking up on some
- 52:33Speaker 2: kind of cult, right or something sacrificing, Like you're hide
- 52:37Speaker 2: behind the bush watching something you should not see. And
- 52:40Speaker 2: that happened in the comedy club that rosted on the
- 52:42Speaker 2: first line, he was there and the cave.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Yeah to stick that landing. Hopefully at the end of
- 52:48Speaker 3: this segment is real fast. I'll cut a quick commercial
- 52:51Speaker 3: to any local comedy scene. Everything I just said is correct.
- 52:54Speaker 3: Austin's blowing up all of the Orlando comedians that moved
- 52:57Speaker 3: out there. Well, Orlando comedians still needs you. If you
- 53:01Speaker 3: see a comedy showcase, go to it. Support your local
- 53:04Speaker 3: comedy scene, because I'm here to tell you we're kind
- 53:07Speaker 3: of here in Orlando living in the future. Yeah, because
- 53:11Speaker 3: you're going to go out to a comedy show and
- 53:13Speaker 3: see somebody probably six seven years down the road on
- 53:16Speaker 3: a different screen that you would never imagine.
- 53:18Speaker 2: And by the way, I could name five of them
- 53:20Speaker 2: right now. That's exactly fifth that. I mean, Christolph Cam
- 53:22Speaker 2: that's just where it starts. I mean, other guys have
- 53:24Speaker 2: made a big splash on on online. Ricky Reyes, guys
- 53:28Speaker 2: like that are just absolutely killing it. Jake Rick is
- 53:30Speaker 2: out there working.
- 53:31Speaker 3: And boy did I take advantage of all of my
- 53:34Speaker 3: friends success. And you should because they look at me
- 53:36Speaker 3: of like, oh dude, it's the old guy. It's old rows,
- 53:38Speaker 3: and I'm like, god, I need to moisturize. But nonetheless, Austin, Texas, Orlando,
- 53:44Speaker 3: any local comedy scene, it's worth your time.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Those are your ross thoughts. I'm out peace, you got
- 53:49Speaker 2: about a good job. Four seven nine one six four
- 53:51Speaker 2: one text seven seven zero three one Green is your
- 53:55Speaker 2: four o'clock. He were g R E E N slide
- 53:58Speaker 2: over to real radio dout I have him been sending
- 53:59Speaker 2: that away for you your chance at one thousand dollars. Moel.
- 54:02Speaker 2: Emily the Movie Girl is next. Let's try that again
- 54:05Speaker 2: with a new tongue.
- 54:10Speaker 21: About this new spider Man movie. It's not great, it's
- 54:13Speaker 21: not good, it's not bad.
- 54:16Speaker 7: It's just okay.
- 54:18Speaker 21: Another generic villain overstuffed with other superheroes. And I guess
- 54:21Speaker 21: the ending of the last film might not matter. But
- 54:24Speaker 21: ultimately who cares. I still had a fun time, and
- 54:27Speaker 21: that's what counts the most.
- 54:30Speaker 2: Very nice your four o'clock, Heyward as green g R
- 54:32Speaker 2: E E N s. Let get over to real radio
- 54:35Speaker 2: out of him and send that away for your chance
- 54:36Speaker 2: of a thousand bucks. I'm Jim. There's deb Hello, Jack,
- 54:39Speaker 2: Yep and Ross here as well. Believe in yourself. And
- 54:41Speaker 2: guess who else is here? Emily the Movie Girl.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Her name is Emily, she likes movies. She's a girl.
- 54:52Speaker 1: It's time for Emily the Movie Girl on the Jim
- 54:55Speaker 1: Colbert Show.
- 55:01Speaker 2: I want to triumphant return. How are you, young lady?
- 55:04Speaker 19: I'm doing great?
- 55:05Speaker 7: How are you?
- 55:06Speaker 2: Very good? Good weekend?
- 55:08Speaker 19: Amazing?
- 55:09Speaker 2: Yeah you.
- 55:13Speaker 21: I don't know what.
- 55:14Speaker 2: I don't know you well enough to know what the
- 55:16Speaker 2: week means. But good for you, young lady.
- 55:18Speaker 19: Amazing.
- 55:19Speaker 14: Yeah, spider Man, amazing Spider Man. There we know it's
- 55:22Speaker 14: not funny now that I have to explain.
- 55:23Speaker 2: How nobody else got it.
- 55:26Speaker 3: You definitely needed to explain it all going like where's
- 55:31Speaker 3: the donuts?
- 55:32Speaker 2: Exactly? So it only joins us every Monday I talk
- 55:35Speaker 2: about some movies. Obviously, Spider Man is the talk of
- 55:37Speaker 2: the town. Is uh and man, it went absolutely ballistic
- 55:42Speaker 2: at the box office this weekend. I've seen mixed reviews.
- 55:45Speaker 2: I've seen people say it was great. I've seen two
- 55:47Speaker 2: and a half star ratings. What say you, young lady,
- 55:51Speaker 2: I really liked this one, did you really? Yeah?
- 55:54Speaker 14: So I can be fairly critical of superhero movies, especially
- 55:59Speaker 14: after like Infinity War and End Game. I feel like
- 56:02Speaker 14: Disney just has not really gotten their footing pretty well
- 56:06Speaker 14: with Marvel since then. I really, honestly, I think this
- 56:10Speaker 14: is maybe my favorite Tom Holland Spider Man film that
- 56:13Speaker 14: we've gotten so far, because it was homecoming, far from home, right,
- 56:19Speaker 14: no way home, and now it's brand new.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Day Okay, gotcha?
- 56:22Speaker 14: Yeah, yea, those are the four that we've gotten, So
- 56:24Speaker 14: I think this may be my favorite so far.
- 56:27Speaker 2: I didn't realize he had four of these things under
- 56:28Speaker 2: his belt.
- 56:29Speaker 3: This is the first Spider Man to get four full
- 56:32Speaker 3: film and he must be very popular because it made
- 56:35Speaker 3: so much money, and it has to be at least
- 56:37Speaker 3: some of that where people just like him as that character, right,
- 56:40Speaker 3: mm hmm.
- 56:41Speaker 14: Well, and this his Spider Man in particular, has been
- 56:45Speaker 14: very interesting because compared to Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire that,
- 56:51Speaker 14: like those other two versions, we didn't really get the
- 56:54Speaker 14: same kind of origin story that we typically get. And
- 56:56Speaker 14: he was thrown into the Avengers, like that's the first
- 56:59Speaker 14: time you see Spider Man was in Avengers.
- 57:02Speaker 19: I think it was Civil War was when he was here.
- 57:04Speaker 3: It was definitely Civil War. Yeah, oh yeah, civil War.
- 57:08Speaker 3: I think it's my favorite Marvel film. Whatever, And.
- 57:13Speaker 19: Okay, great, I'm so glad you're here today.
- 57:17Speaker 2: He had some thoughts on it, but they I mean,
- 57:21Speaker 2: obviously the audience loves him in this character. I mean,
- 57:23Speaker 2: and my way, one of the things I heard about
- 57:24Speaker 2: this one was it's a very introspective Spider Man.
- 57:27Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 57:28Speaker 14: I mean, when when you think about Spider Man, you
- 57:31Speaker 14: typically see him in high school, like you know, nerdy
- 57:35Speaker 14: Nerdy Boy. Also Spider Man and this one, he's kind
- 57:40Speaker 14: of like, you know, college twenty something and he's in
- 57:44Speaker 14: his like emo boy era because of how the last
- 57:47Speaker 14: one ended, like everyone forgets who Peter Parker is.
- 57:51Speaker 2: And that's not a spoiler, that's no, that's literally that's
- 57:54Speaker 2: literally in the trailer.
- 57:55Speaker 4: Guys.
- 57:56Speaker 2: Yeah, so.
- 57:58Speaker 14: Your right, and don't worry.
- 58:01Speaker 19: I won't give any spoilers or anything.
- 58:03Speaker 14: But truthfully, to me, there isn't much to spoil in
- 58:07Speaker 14: this film. There's you know, a character reveal, but uh,
- 58:12Speaker 14: it's the It's the worst kept secret for Marvel. I
- 58:16Speaker 14: think like everyone kind of knew was coming. So even
- 58:19Speaker 14: when I saw Opening night with a full theater, they
- 58:21Speaker 14: were like, oh yes, this this character. Oh really everyone knew.
- 58:27Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 58:27Speaker 3: So I talk to me about the action of this
- 58:30Speaker 3: Spider Man film because I've been told and convinced that
- 58:33Speaker 3: it's the best like superhero action any audience can consume.
- 58:39Speaker 14: I I think, as of recently, I loved the action
- 58:41Speaker 14: in this film, especially for Spider Man specifically because this
- 58:45Speaker 14: is so inherently New York, and I think that's what
- 58:48Speaker 14: Tom Hollins Spider Man has been missing. He's been off
- 58:51Speaker 14: of the Avengers, he's been in space, he's far from home.
- 58:54Speaker 14: He was literally in like what Washington, DC or something.
- 58:57Speaker 14: So it's really nice to see spider Man literally be
- 59:00Speaker 14: the like poor nerdy boy from Queen's.
- 59:04Speaker 3: And it's the first spider Man movie without the word
- 59:07Speaker 3: home in it. And it's the first spider Man movie
- 59:09Speaker 3: when New York exactly no spider Man made it.
- 59:14Speaker 14: There's there's a lot of sequences and I'm sure this
- 59:17Speaker 14: is you know, this is all over social media where
- 59:19Speaker 14: a lot of the montage sequences are straight up like
- 59:24Speaker 14: like exactly like the original comic book front covers.
- 59:30Speaker 2: That's awesome, It's really cool.
- 59:32Speaker 14: So so I think that the people that were very
- 59:34Speaker 14: passionate about making this a grounded New York Queens spider
- 59:39Speaker 14: Man movie, they nailed it.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Well.
- 59:41Speaker 3: I'm super curious about one thing you said, that's this
- 59:44Speaker 3: is your favorite Tom Holland spider Man movie. What is
- 59:47Speaker 3: your favorite spider Man movie?
- 59:48Speaker 2: And why is it? Toby maguire spider Man two.
- 59:51Speaker 14: I do really love that way, and actually, no, I know,
- 59:57Speaker 14: I do actually have a very I think this this particular,
- 1:00:00Speaker 14: like this brand new Day is a good mirror to
- 1:00:04Speaker 14: spider Man too, because spider Man two, Toby Maguire's Peter
- 1:00:07Speaker 14: Parker is dealing with like choosing his personal life over
- 1:00:12Speaker 14: what his moral responsibility is as a superhero, whereas this
- 1:00:16Speaker 14: one Tom Hollands Peter Parker is like, you need to
- 1:00:19Speaker 14: have work life balance, my dude. Yeah, but my favorite
- 1:00:23Speaker 14: is in Spider Verse. It's really hard to pick the
- 1:00:27Speaker 14: first or the second one because to me, they're the same.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: Well for me, all the new ones are missing one thing,
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: and that's I mean for me, it's like no James Franco,
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: no Jim Colbert, So you're not getting my seventeen dollars
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: without Franco. He's a big Franco fan and he doesn't
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: know about Franco news. No, it's a joke.
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: For with the new Spider Man out, is it a prerequisite?
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: Do you need to see the last one?
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:00:56Speaker 9: Can you do?
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Okay without a doubt, And you're going to see the
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: new make sure you've seen them.
- 1:01:01Speaker 19: You're you're gonna be very You're gonna be very confused.
- 1:01:05Speaker 19: Oh really, yes, you have. You have to see No
- 1:01:08Speaker 19: Way Home.
- 1:01:08Speaker 14: Also, No One is really fun? Okay, so you really
- 1:01:12Speaker 14: you have to watch it or the very least watch
- 1:01:14Speaker 14: like a recap.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: If you're gonna see No Way Home.
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: Now that you have to see the second one, another
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: version of Home almost Home, I mean.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: At that point nearly Home.
- 1:01:24Speaker 14: To understand the characters that make their way in No
- 1:01:26Speaker 14: Way Home, you have to watch every single spider I go.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: So go see this movie.
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: You have to commit yourself to a week of movie
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: because I started with home Coming. On Friday night, I
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: watched home Coming and I realized, Oh, I didn't watch
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: Civil War. So it was kind of like I missed
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: the first fifteen minutes of a movie.
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: So emily and one of the issues I have with
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: any of the superhero movies, Transformers kind of ruined it
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: for me because there's so much CGI in, so much fighting,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Like it's just a bunch of flashes with some sound
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: effects and some music behind it. Does this? Does this?
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Does this? Do any of that? Or is it?
- 1:01:59Speaker 20: Is it?
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Like when you watch it, does it seem as natural
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: as a movie about this kind of thing? Concene?
- 1:02:04Speaker 19: I think it seems very natural. That's why I love
- 1:02:06Speaker 19: that it's sat in New York.
- 1:02:07Speaker 14: That's why I love the villain and the montage villains
- 1:02:11Speaker 14: that we get throughout the movie. And like I was
- 1:02:14Speaker 14: even talking literally to my brother on the way here
- 1:02:16Speaker 14: about Tom Hollands.
- 1:02:19Speaker 19: Well, it's Spider Man, but you know his his Spidey suit.
- 1:02:22Speaker 14: Okay, Like so so often we see the Spider suits
- 1:02:26Speaker 14: like ooh, high tech, and it just seems like the stiff,
- 1:02:29Speaker 14: uncomfortable thing. It looks like spandex. I love the way
- 1:02:31Speaker 14: it moves like, it looks like this kid just like
- 1:02:35Speaker 14: scrounged it out of his of his laundry bin and
- 1:02:39Speaker 14: like went.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Well the day. Isn't that kind of a throwback to
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: the original one, right, Because Tobey MacGuire was finding it out,
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: he was just piecing together. I think like part of
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: the movie was him coming up with a suit and
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: him finding something that could handle his powers and whatnot.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: So they did throw back a little bit, didn't they.
- 1:02:54Speaker 19: I really liked the suit in this.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: I'm gonna ask a very stupid question because I do
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: not know the answer to this because I've kind of
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: been out on the Spider Verse since the first couple?
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: Does he is there a love interest in this? Uh?
- 1:03:06Speaker 19: In this new film the New Day, is that it's
- 1:03:09Speaker 19: not Spider Verse?
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I mean I don't know. I mean Spider Verse.
- 1:03:13Speaker 14: You're thinking like MCU because Spider Verse is a whole
- 1:03:17Speaker 14: animated film.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Apologies, that's okay.
- 1:03:20Speaker 19: I'm just clarifying for the good people.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: That doesn't matter. I feel terrible, doesn't matter.
- 1:03:24Speaker 19: Why am I here?
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: He did say it was like there's gonna be a
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: double question breakfast.
- 1:03:34Speaker 14: This does have a love interest. But have you seen
- 1:03:38Speaker 14: any of the other Tom Holland Spider Man.
- 1:03:41Speaker 7: I have not.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: I blow it so well, so you haven't seen the
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: other Spider Man. So I'm so curious. Jim, the movie
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: before this, No Way Home? Do you know, like the
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: big hoopla about that one?
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: He didn't do his taxes for a while. And that's
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: what it is, right, it's.
- 1:04:01Speaker 19: Actually you didn't get spoiled on that.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: You're the only person that's unspoiled. You could watch that
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: movie and have it not be spoiled. Yeah, but I
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: know nothing about it either. I'm telling you man. After
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: the after the original two, I kind of checked out
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: a little bit. I only saw the one Garfield Win.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: I mean I thought it was pretty good. I mean
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: it wasn't terrible, but you know, I mean I don't know,
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: like I just I don't have that verb to go
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: see these movies anymore I could. I think I speak
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: for Emily. We're both jealous of you.
- 1:04:30Speaker 19: That you can experience that movie for the first time.
- 1:04:33Speaker 19: I'm spoiled.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: That's good because the spoiler aspect of that film was
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: for bajillions of people.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: If you didn't see an opening night or second night.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: Oh really, word got out about that third to Holland
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: film and you not knowing it is honestly kind of cool.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: Like I know nothing about it. I have no Like
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: if you gave me a thousand yuesses right now, I
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: may sed them on one of the letters, but I
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: would not know anything about it. I love the fact
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: that I'm the douchebag.
- 1:05:01Speaker 14: Like love that you working radio and media and you
- 1:05:05Speaker 14: aren't privy to this information at all.
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: I don't the thing. It just doesn't interest me and
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: stuff like that. I mean, I don't know why it
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: just doesn't.
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: You're in a better place than us because we know
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: what happens in that third movie, and I kind of want.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: To be you are all of the Are all of
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: these like available on Netflix? Can I go and start
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: watching these movies now?
- 1:05:22Speaker 9: Or whatever?
- 1:05:22Speaker 7: I mean?
- 1:05:22Speaker 14: Is it like a prime or I would guess probably
- 1:05:26Speaker 14: on Disney plut Okay, good.
- 1:05:28Speaker 19: If I had to get check.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: It out, then I promise I want to be surprised.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: I don't listen on my schedule. I will do the
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: best I can. I promise.
- 1:05:36Speaker 19: Did you see the odysty My god, almighty, you didn't.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: You didn't?
- 1:05:42Speaker 9: What the heck?
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: Oh god, you're making your use naughty language. Now, don't
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: say heck on the show.
- 1:05:50Speaker 19: Please, I could say something else.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: Rules for sure. The guy saw it though, So they
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: saw it. They Ross and I both saw it.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it's Christopher Nolan. It's an epic. It's my second
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: favorite Nolan film.
- 1:06:05Speaker 19: What's the first.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: I'm gonna go Dunkirk, but that's because I'm biased towards
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: World War two?
- 1:06:10Speaker 9: Whoa?
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: And I think that's like the most important event in
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: human history and to feel like I was actually there.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: I'll never thank Nolan personally, but I can thank him
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: on this radio station.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: Hey, I think he might be listening. You don't know,
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: I saw that? Do A get credit? All right? And
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: so what did you wind up giving Spider Man? Are
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: you a?
- 1:06:29Speaker 19: Four stars? Five?
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: Very good? Who wow? Really so highly highly recommend.
- 1:06:34Speaker 19: Highly recommend.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: Really is there a format in which you should see
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: this to really experience it the best, or does just
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: any theater will do?
- 1:06:40Speaker 14: Any theater will do? I mean I love seeing stuff
- 1:06:42Speaker 14: in premium formats. If I can see it in Adul'll
- 1:06:45Speaker 14: be great, But no, just see it at your local
- 1:06:47Speaker 14: movie theater. Support cinema and.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Do you mind support Do you mind saying what you
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: talked about right before we came on the air about
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: where you see this? Will you? Will you drop that
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: dime on everybody to let everybody know or is that
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: something you keep to yourself?
- 1:06:57Speaker 10: Oh?
- 1:06:57Speaker 19: Where I go to see movie?
- 1:06:58Speaker 14: Yeah, I mean I'm an I'm an AMC A lister,
- 1:07:01Speaker 14: so I go to the local AMC. There's three that
- 1:07:04Speaker 14: I go to, but the one that I do frequent
- 1:07:07Speaker 14: a lot is the the AMC at West Oaks Small
- 1:07:11Speaker 14: Okay Koe Okay, which yeah, it's it's desolate and the
- 1:07:15Speaker 14: only other thing there is like the tax office there.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: And waiting homicides just on.
- 1:07:23Speaker 19: True story.
- 1:07:24Speaker 14: I do park my car right by the movie theater exit,
- 1:07:27Speaker 14: so that way I've got a quick exit out of
- 1:07:28Speaker 14: the theater. But the AMC there is this amazing little
- 1:07:36Speaker 14: hidden gem I can always get seats and every single
- 1:07:39Speaker 14: theater all of the seats reclined.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: Oh that's awesome. That's I like that. So that's a
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: bit of a cheat code there, right, Yeah, for sure.
- 1:07:46Speaker 19: Yeah, but I also frequent the Altamont and Disney Springs.
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: Very nice. All right, So we got a got a
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: four star review for spider Man, the New spider Man movie.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: What else force?
- 1:07:55Speaker 14: The other movie I saw was like really last second
- 1:07:58Speaker 14: was called I Want Okay. It stars Olivia Wilde and
- 1:08:03Speaker 14: Cooper Hoffman. And Cooper Hoffman is just Dustin Hoffman, yes, yes,
- 1:08:10Speaker 14: his son. Yeah, And like normally I kind of have
- 1:08:13Speaker 14: iffy things about ebo babies, but Cooper Hoffman is very talented.
- 1:08:18Speaker 19: He was also in The Long Walk last year.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: If you saw that, I did not, No, no, no,
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: that's I heard that movie was supposed to not be
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: that good going into it, and then it turned out
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: being an absolute banger. It's a Stephen King novel. Yeah right,
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: I loved it.
- 1:08:30Speaker 14: I didn't read the book, and honestly, I'm kind of
- 1:08:33Speaker 14: scared to after watching the movie, but I loved.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: The movie all right. Yeah, And that's streaming, I believe
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: on HBU.
- 1:08:40Speaker 19: Did you see it on a shoe?
- 1:08:42Speaker 18: No?
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: I saw it. I believe it's on HBO streaming and
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: I just looked the Dexi service for the first time.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: In the segment, and people are literally begging you, guys
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: to tell me what happens in that Spider Man movie.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: They are begging you to tell me so I can
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: react on the air. They want to hear me react
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: to it. And I don't know why. I'm just gonna
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: watch it and I'll react to it. I'll record myself
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: watching it so that this movie was a good Yeah,
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: I liked it overall.
- 1:09:09Speaker 14: It's this really interesting satire about this like fresh out
- 1:09:13Speaker 14: of college kid that needs a job and he ends
- 1:09:17Speaker 14: up working for this artist that is this like provocateur
- 1:09:22Speaker 14: sexual artist, and she does all of these like really weird,
- 1:09:26Speaker 14: funky installations, and then she ends up asking him kind
- 1:09:30Speaker 14: of to be like.
- 1:09:30Speaker 19: Her sexual muse.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:09:33Speaker 14: And overall, I think in film in cinema, people have
- 1:09:39Speaker 14: very back and forth mixed opinions on sex in movies. Okay,
- 1:09:46Speaker 14: And I think this this has a very interesting anecdote
- 1:09:49Speaker 14: that the second like things start to get really real,
- 1:09:53Speaker 14: that's when these characters kind of pull back. It's it's
- 1:09:59Speaker 14: hard to explain without really getting into the nitty gritty
- 1:10:02Speaker 14: of it, but it's oddly this sort of dark rom
- 1:10:05Speaker 14: com almost.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: That's what I've heard about it.
- 1:10:07Speaker 14: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I really really enjoyed it. Olivia
- 1:10:10Speaker 14: Wilde doing that, and then not too long ago the invite.
- 1:10:14Speaker 14: I'm like, man, she's having a really good year and.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: She has a very i'm not gonna say bro like,
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: but she has a very kind of forward personality anyway, right,
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: does it come off like that in the movie, because
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: when you see her with interviews and other stuff, she
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: seems to be like, very assertive in herself.
- 1:10:31Speaker 19: A confident person. I think I can totally agree with that.
- 1:10:34Speaker 14: Yeah, I mean it's so interesting because she she plays
- 1:10:37Speaker 14: this this very confident, extremely sexual person, but then when
- 1:10:43Speaker 14: things start to go downhill for her, it's so crazy
- 1:10:46Speaker 14: to see how everything unravels.
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: She just uses to act she almost like she just
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: uses that as a shield to her real personality.
- 1:10:53Speaker 19: Yes, yes, a bit, a bit.
- 1:10:54Speaker 14: And then of course Cooper Hoffman this this poor kid
- 1:10:58Speaker 14: has to tell her like, you literally ruined my life
- 1:11:01Speaker 14: because of hiring me, because of you know, basically grooming me,
- 1:11:05Speaker 14: doing all of these things. But overall it's also has
- 1:11:09Speaker 14: this like really odd whimsical quality, like there's like things
- 1:11:12Speaker 14: that are randomly animated and stuff. So I think overall
- 1:11:16Speaker 14: it's it's a very fun watch. It didn't quite get
- 1:11:19Speaker 14: there for me. I think it could have had a
- 1:11:21Speaker 14: little bit more development, specifically with there's like a best
- 1:11:24Speaker 14: friend that that this college kid has, and when this
- 1:11:29Speaker 14: best friend was first introduced, I thought that was his girlfriend.
- 1:11:33Speaker 7: Oh.
- 1:11:33Speaker 14: I was very confused, Like I think twenty five thirty
- 1:11:35Speaker 14: minutes and I was like, is he cheating?
- 1:11:38Speaker 19: Does he have two girlfriends? Oh no, that's that's just
- 1:11:40Speaker 19: his his best friend and room.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: Good story though, it kind of moved along quite well. Yeah,
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: hour a half hour minutes.
- 1:11:47Speaker 19: Movie put this three stars.
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: Three stars. Yeah, a good week night watchable kind of movie.
- 1:11:52Speaker 19: Yeah, watch it at home, don't watch it with the parents.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: Yeah, sure, real quick. Cooper Hoffman is the son of
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: Philip Seymour.
- 1:11:58Speaker 19: How Oh no, it doesn't happen, thank you.
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: I mean it's it's not many Hoffman's up there, but
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: that's I didn't know for or see more Hoffman a
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: at it gives a phenomenal actor. Yeah, that's kind of
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: where that faking is hereditary but whatever, and being a
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: sexual muse is not easy. I did it for one
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: semester and community gallon and uh it's hard work man,
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: people get you need to get more credit for that.
- 1:12:26Speaker 19: Do you put that on the resume.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: Right under my name? What do you for us? The
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: next week? Maniac?
- 1:12:35Speaker 14: Next week, I'm gonna go see One Night Only an
- 1:12:38Speaker 14: ice Cream Man. And then I also want to plug
- 1:12:41Speaker 14: my podcast coming out. The first episode comes out tomorrow.

- 1:15:04Speaker 2: Or may not be that person. Hey, real quick, then
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: to get for your right or not, Hey, real quick.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: I was sharing this with deb and Jack before the show.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: I didn't get a chance to talk to you about it.
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: And when we have a few minutes here before we
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: get to the top of the hour. There was a
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: guy who went to a I saw this on Reddit today,
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: A guy who went to a con I want to
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: see it was out in La one of the comic
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: cons or whatever. And you know how you pay to
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: get your photograph. Yeah, let me ask you a quick question.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: This will be easy. Right. It was a it's a female.
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: She has been in some pretty big stuff deb right,
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, I've been in some big stuff. And
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: the guy put this picture up on Reddit and it's her.
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: She's sitting on a stool. She's sitting there. You've got
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: the whole Marvel thing in the background, and this guy's
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: standing like for me to deb from her, and and
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: the then the context said I paid eighty dollars for
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: this photograph with Fomka Jensen. Yeah, okay, you know that
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: is bomb Key.
- 1:15:55Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: She was in a lot of X Men movies. She
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: wasn't taken right.
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: Yea yea yeah yeah right. So her name's bomb Key Jensen.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: She's a colos three different names. Yes, famk there she
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: is right there right now. That's for one of your
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: pronouncis right, very good, And he said, right before they
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: took the photograph, her handler comes out with a yardstick, oh,
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: and puts them between him and says, stay just that
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: far away and we'll take this picture. And that brought
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: up the whole Internet thing like, well, when you pay
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: eighty dollars for a photograph, you deserve to be closer
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: to the person. Does it need to be like you
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: guys know each other. Everybody kind of knows you don't
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: know them. Everybody knows you paid money to have that photograph.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: So does it matter if you're close to them or
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: or do you think that's bad taste for her to
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: say go ahead and say you gotta stay at least
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: three feet away from me.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: Bro I love being like self aware and social awareness
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: and what not to do in a room full of people.
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: I do not have the answers on this one man,
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: because that's the most awkward scenario that I could ever
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: draw up on meeting someone that you paid for this interaction.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but the thing is is, like I my thing
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: was this? I mean if I paid Let's say deb
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: was in one of his dev was Pumpkin? I paid
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: to go and have a photograph of Deborah. Deborah is
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: very famous. I'm not I'm a comic con kind of guy.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: You can look at him in five seconds and see
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: exactly what he looks like when you see the picture.
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: You're a guy, You're a creep. She's hot.
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: Yeah, you're wearing a dead pull shirt. You got a
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: little belly showing up whenever you have a question.
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: In one thousand percent, you know still eats Bomb's food
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: the whole nine yards. And uh, And I think that
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: there is some rights to the person. I mean, no
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: one's gonna look at that photograph and go, oh no, wait,
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: you're hanging out with Debora Roberts. Tell me, you know
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: that guys known each other. Everybody's gonna know you dropped
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: fifty sixty seventy bucks. Have this photograph, and nobody's gonna
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: believe you know her. Nobody's gonna believe with any of
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: that stuff. The interaction is so synthetic.
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: It's but usually the backdrops kind of revealed that there
- 1:17:56Speaker 5: it's something that'll say whatever comic con it is, or
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: you know, there's something in the backdrop that kind of
- 1:18:02Speaker 5: reveals that this is not at someone's house, spark right, right,
- 1:18:05Speaker 5: this is at a convention.
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: So he was kind of complaining about it. I think
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: he wanted it to seem a little bit more intimate.
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: Well, I mean that kind of distance for eighty dollars.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: Yeah, ef, we don't we don't need to touch, but
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: we need to be a lot closs. I mean, is
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: it you take that off or you add to it,
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: like in other words, you started three feet for every
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: foot you get closer, that's another hundo.
- 1:18:29Speaker 4: Oh god, better that than eighty dollars. And I'm halfway
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: across the room exactly for eighty dollars.
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: And it's completely subjective from celebrity to celebrity, right right, Yeah.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: Because I saw other pictures in the same and the
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: and the stars the dudes like draped on them like
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: like they've not like they went to college together and
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: they're perfectly fine with that.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: Have you ever seen the viral photos of Chris Brown's
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: meet and greet. I'm not making the easy joke here,
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: but like he's a a lot of his photos after
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: the concert. Yeah you want that cat arms Like, Yeah,
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: a lot of his photos is like him, like like
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: he'll be like very sexually provocative.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: Gets in there. Huh yeah a little bit. That's like
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: I've seen a lot of those photos. I got more respect,
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: I got more Oh my goodness, dude, Yeah, are you
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: looking at the Chris Brown photo? My man? My man's
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: at work. He's not taking photos of my man. Is
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: he's scouting?
- 1:19:22Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it was. They usually go firal for that's crazy.
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: Yea lap he allows it. This is the guy who
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: punches women, Yeah exactly.
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: Yeah, but Jack, Yeah, he dances well enough. I guess
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: I've never understood the rules of society. Yeah right, none
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: of us. And he didn't just punch a woman. He
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: punched one of those famous rich women on the war
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: in the world. Yeah, a future billion Hey, yeahs A
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: couple of times over. I think all right, seven seven
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: zero three one. That's how you text us will have
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: a fresh keyword for you at the top of the hour,
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: and Colet Fair joins us. She is a relationship experts.
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: Have you have any questions about your relationship somebody else's
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: And by the way, this doesn't have to necessarily always
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: be like male female like together. You can have a
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: question about your brother, a question about your sister, your mom,
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: any of that stuff. Relationships are the key here, so
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: clad in with us next here on the Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:20:20Speaker 23: Okay, my question on the convention thing in the three
- 1:20:24Speaker 23: feet away is is it because a lot of those
- 1:20:26Speaker 23: guys like just don't have great hygiene and maybe she
- 1:20:30Speaker 23: just doesn't want to spell it.
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: I don't what were they talking about.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: Oh.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: In other words, she thinks that the dude maybe stink.
- 1:20:41Speaker 5: She say, like, in general, yeah, the guys who might
- 1:20:44Speaker 5: go to conventions might not be someone you want to
- 1:20:47Speaker 5: be within three feet up because some people don't shower
- 1:20:51Speaker 5: all the time.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: Before coming to work, right. Yeah, Yeah, it was one time,
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: and that one time is today. I can imagine what
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: an animal would do that four seven nine four one
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: text us seven seven zero three one your five o'clock.
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: He wear his bank b A n K. Go to
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: real radio dot FM and send that away for your
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: chance at one thousand dollars. Bank is the word. Guys,
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: go get that money. I hope you win. I'm Jim.
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: There's deb hello tek Z here as well. Yeah, and
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: so is Raws. I'm sorry again, even though we kind
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: of don't want him to be uh smelling a little bit.
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: He's fine though. And of course, like about every young
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: a couple months or so every month and a half,
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: we like to invite this young lady in. She has
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: a practice here in town where you learn about it
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: in a second. She is a relationship expert. Guy's good
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: loved for collect fair. What do you say? You can
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: hear every Thursday Night, Love Thy neighbor right here on
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: Real Radio one oh four point one. How are you doing,
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: young lady?
- 1:21:41Speaker 18: I'm great. What a reception called a young lady is
- 1:21:45Speaker 18: so refreshing.
- 1:21:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I had a truck or checked me out on
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: the way to work. I was like, thanks, dude, you got.
- 1:21:52Speaker 16: This is eighty five year old.
- 1:21:54Speaker 18: She's considering me a young lady at this point, but
- 1:21:57Speaker 18: I'll take it.
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: How to be alive, there's a certain point where like,
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: how dare you? And there's a certain point where like more, yes,
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: lots of more exactly. Hey, you know it's funny we
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: say relationship expert, and what exactly does that entail for
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: people who are just now hearing you for the first time?
- 1:22:14Speaker 18: I know, right, it sounds kind of presumptuous almost, But
- 1:22:16Speaker 18: I've been doing this work for fifteen years, almost fifteen
- 1:22:19Speaker 18: years where I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist, a
- 1:22:22Speaker 18: licensed mental health counselor. I have a private practice specializing
- 1:22:26Speaker 18: in couples therapy. So I've earned those stripes.
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: I like to think, yeah, now, before the show, maybe
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: I missed misspoke here, but do you also do like
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: familial like stuff like if you like somebody we have
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: somebody on the wold right now waiting to talk that
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: like that, there's family drama with a sister and we
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: have a text in the same way. Do it do
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: you guys or do you deal with stuff like that?
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: Is it almost? Is it just relationships, like you know,
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: like marital Yeah.
- 1:22:51Speaker 18: No, So I specialize in marriage counseling, but of course
- 1:22:55Speaker 18: I've worked with family. Is every kind of constellation because
- 1:22:58Speaker 18: all of this is relationships, friendship issues, parents, sibling, children,
- 1:23:03Speaker 18: you name it.
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: What are the hardest marriages? Yeah, marriages are always harnest,
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: I think so, yeah, because you just kind of get
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: ground in there and you kind of get a little
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: bitter and then you won't let go to stuff. I mean,
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: you feel like there's a score being kept, kind of
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: thing that.
- 1:23:16Speaker 18: Can definitely happen. I think marriages are the hardest because
- 1:23:20Speaker 18: they can be not that that parent, child or sibling relationships.
- 1:23:23Speaker 18: Lots of things can be difficult, but marriages or long
- 1:23:26Speaker 18: term relationships or romantic relationships, let's say, those are the
- 1:23:31Speaker 18: kind of relationships that really push your buttons. They activate
- 1:23:35Speaker 18: underneath those triggers or old wounds that tend to be
- 1:23:38Speaker 18: very foundational to you feel about yourself. And of course
- 1:23:42Speaker 18: we're all at heart afraid of rejection and abandonment, even
- 1:23:45Speaker 18: when we don't realize that it's operating in our attachments.
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: And let's face it, if you have a problem with
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: your brother or sister, you can tell them to blank
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: off and then talk to them a year later. You
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: can't do that with the person you're living with, absolutely
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: and have it go well. Rossia, the question I know,
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: all I have to say to that is uh, oh,
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: I'm jugging what in the idea? By the way, if
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: you want to give us a call, collects here to
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: answer your calls, we do have somebody waiting on hold.
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: We'll get to you one second. When when you deal
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: with marital relationships, I mean, what, what is the number
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: one thing that kind of gets brought up when people
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: come into your office? Is it the normal stuff that
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: we hear about all the time, that kind of it's
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: so rope, that's why it's so kind of stereotypical, or.
- 1:24:23Speaker 18: Yeah, it's shocking. Really most of what we're talking about
- 1:24:26Speaker 18: are very small things, you know, the cliche of you
- 1:24:29Speaker 18: didn't do the dishes, it's normal daily what some therapists
- 1:24:34Speaker 18: called normal marital hatred. That's actually a term.
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: Wow, Really, I think we could focus group that. I
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: think we can see we can update the term. My
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: entire life, I've been told not to hate anything, and
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: then there's a term for it. Yeah, it just becomes that.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: It just becomes that one thing, like yeah, not putting
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: something away when you get through using it, or or
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: leaving one sip of milk in the container, per perpetually
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: in your life. And it's not that it does at
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: one time. It's not that third or fourth type. Even
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: it's that you just simply will not listen when I
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: ask you not.
- 1:25:08Speaker 7: To do it.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: Done.
- 1:25:09Speaker 12: That's it.
- 1:25:09Speaker 18: That's actually what it really is. It's not the issue.
- 1:25:12Speaker 18: It's not feeling heard, it's not feeling seen or valued
- 1:25:16Speaker 18: or like a priority to your partner. But it's the
- 1:25:19Speaker 18: daily grind that tends to elicit those powerful feelings. Of course,
- 1:25:23Speaker 18: there are financial issues, sex is a big issue, mismatch, libidos, infidelities,
- 1:25:30Speaker 18: all of those things come up. But day in and
- 1:25:32Speaker 18: day out, I'm talking about the daily grinds with people,
- 1:25:36Speaker 18: and then we're unpacking what's underneath it that doesn't get said,
- 1:25:40Speaker 18: and I'm helping people to say things in a way
- 1:25:42Speaker 18: that's more vulnerable and more clear. Right, that's really what
- 1:25:45Speaker 18: it's about, and you're giving them a safe area to
- 1:25:47Speaker 18: do that. You know, part of me kind of feels
- 1:25:50Speaker 18: a little seen it. Kind of it helps hearing you
- 1:25:52Speaker 18: say that, because I feel like everyone's been there.
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: I know I've been there, and I know exactly how
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: I get I take a fast pass an ePass to
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: absolutely like I'm losing it. It's because I can. My
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: brain goes, it's all right, I'll do it. If it's
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: such a big deal, let me just step up and
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: take care of whatever it is. Fill in the blank.
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: I'll step up and do that. But then I only
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: I have such a I have a health bar to
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: that that can only go so far until I go,
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: all right, I'm not gonna do it because I don't
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: like doing it. And then all of a sudden, there's
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: this I don't want to say resentment. Resentment is a
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: strong word, but it's kind of the only word that's
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: popping up that I can start feeling like if it
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: matters so much to me, and then I'll do it.
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: And then if I don't do it, I start looking
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: at her, and vice versa, she'll look at me the
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: same exact way, and how do you defeat that?
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: It almost feels like a paradox.
- 1:26:46Speaker 18: Absolutely so it is resentment, and resentment is really what
- 1:26:49Speaker 18: I identify as the biggest killer of relationships. And it
- 1:26:54Speaker 18: does come from when we do things that maybe we
- 1:26:56Speaker 18: don't really want to do or we feel like we
- 1:26:58Speaker 18: have to, and and a lot of the times it's
- 1:27:01Speaker 18: that we're not really being so explicit or identifying our
- 1:27:05Speaker 18: own boundaries or saying no and feeling comfortable saying now
- 1:27:09Speaker 18: you can say no nicely. And actually it's important to
- 1:27:13Speaker 18: know your own limits and articulate them. So even though
- 1:27:15Speaker 18: we want to get people talking about the dishes, let's say,
- 1:27:18Speaker 18: or who picked up the dry cleaning, and people to
- 1:27:21Speaker 18: express their feelings and needs, just because your partner may say, hey,
- 1:27:25Speaker 18: this is really important to me, still doesn't mean that
- 1:27:28Speaker 18: you have to do it. It does mean that you
- 1:27:30Speaker 18: want to listen and try to understand why it matters, right,
- 1:27:34Speaker 18: and you'll find a lot of things it's not really
- 1:27:36Speaker 18: so much about the solution. I've said this many times.
- 1:27:39Speaker 18: I'm probably on here before too. Sixty nine percent of
- 1:27:42Speaker 18: a couple's problems, the research shows are unsolvable they will
- 1:27:46Speaker 18: continue to have those same issues, those same frustrations, and
- 1:27:49Speaker 18: those same daily struggles annoy each other in the same
- 1:27:53Speaker 18: cruel and unusual ways, right, which is why we use
- 1:27:57Speaker 18: half jokingly normal marital hatred. Every buddy is annoying. But
- 1:28:01Speaker 18: can you talk about those things? Can you listen to
- 1:28:05Speaker 18: try to understand? Can you have some empathy for your partner.
- 1:28:08Speaker 18: I'm trying to help people access that part of them,
- 1:28:11Speaker 18: their caregiving system, so that they can really hear the
- 1:28:14Speaker 18: other person, and then the solutions become less important.
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: And a lot of people in relationships, you know, I've
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: been in two long relationships, is the fact that they
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: just want you to hear, like, hey, look, this is
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: an issue to me and me. You don't even have
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: to make any great movement immediately that you just need
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: to know, Hey, when you do this, you know, this
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: is this is what happens. This is kind of how
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: I feel about that, This is how I'm perceiving that.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: Here with Cooleette Fair, she is a relationship expert. We
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: do have a call here. Let's get to Carrie. Carrie,
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: how are you.
- 1:28:42Speaker 15: I'm great, how are you guys? My favorite afternoon folk?
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: Doing great? You're all with Colette, you have a question,
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: I do.
- 1:28:50Speaker 24: I spent about forty years taking the abuse of a
- 1:28:54Speaker 24: fraternal twin sister. I did some work, figured it out,
- 1:28:58Speaker 24: and I'm okay with not having her in my life.
- 1:29:00Speaker 24: It's been hard Christmas especially, but I have a little
- 1:29:03Speaker 24: sister who is in the same situation.
- 1:29:05Speaker 15: Well, dad's been diagnosed with dementia and mom just hern eighty.
- 1:29:10Speaker 15: He'll be eighty five. So we planned a vacation for
- 1:29:13Speaker 15: a couple of days. Met my husband at Amelia Island,
- 1:29:17Speaker 15: and my mom insited that sister.
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: Oh no, oh no, this is a bad movie. Wow.
- 1:29:27Speaker 15: Yeah, I thought I was okay with it.
- 1:29:31Speaker 11: Like the last week or so, I've been like, okay,
- 1:29:33Speaker 11: I've been in a really good space with this.
- 1:29:36Speaker 15: I'll just let it be. I'll be the anthropologist. I'll
- 1:29:38Speaker 15: just go and I'll observe. Oh my god, it's gonna
- 1:29:41Speaker 15: be like four days and three dinners and beach time
- 1:29:45Speaker 15: and expectations. I know, I want to honor my dad.
- 1:29:51Speaker 11: Yeah, that's the challenge.
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: What do you think.
- 1:29:54Speaker 18: Wow, I think that's a really tough situation. And I
- 1:29:57Speaker 18: love how you said or how you tried to count
- 1:30:00Speaker 18: and coach yourself. I'll go and I'll be an anthropologist.
- 1:30:03Speaker 18: And that seems like such a great intention, but it
- 1:30:06Speaker 18: also sounds like you're struggling with the fact that part
- 1:30:09Speaker 18: of you is recognizing this might not be doable.
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: Do you want Toby ask you a quick question, Carrie? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: let me ask you. Do you feel like you're losing
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: by going? Do you feel like you're giving in by
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: going there, like you've like you've conceded this battle if
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: you go.
- 1:30:26Speaker 15: That's a great question right now. For me, it's all
- 1:30:30Speaker 15: about my dad, my mom. There's been a lot of
- 1:30:33Speaker 15: family dynamics and trauma that I have healed. I've killed it.
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: I'm really just don't say it again. Yeah, you cannot
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: say that again. Okay, I will not, Okay.
- 1:30:45Speaker 15: Please, But that kind of shows the depth of what
- 1:30:48Speaker 15: I had to do to recover to be a really
- 1:30:50Speaker 15: healthy adult and have a loving, incredible relationship with my parents.
- 1:30:55Speaker 11: Now.
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, So I'm going with.
- 1:30:58Speaker 15: This intention of just like, okay, I'm doing this right them.
- 1:31:01Speaker 11: If it was I could do it, yeah.
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Russ, I was. I was curious.
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: Would you ever find yourself feeling guilty by being inauthentic
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: in that situation?
- 1:31:15Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:31:15Speaker 15: I would not do well being authentic. I worked really
- 1:31:18Speaker 15: hard to live by truth and I did tell my
- 1:31:21Speaker 15: mom I am not looking for a reconciliation. Yeah, and
- 1:31:25Speaker 15: she's like, oh, let's keep.
- 1:31:27Speaker 18: This just light and breezy.
- 1:31:28Speaker 22: Uh.
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: I think the first thing you should say when you
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: walk in that and see her is this look bitch.
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: So you can't say that bad word on the radio
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: to let the clowns have spoken. What does the professional say?
- 1:31:46Speaker 18: I mean, I'm hearing a struggle between honoring her father
- 1:31:49Speaker 18: and doing something in service of that bond, but also
- 1:31:52Speaker 18: that this isn't going to be good for you, and
- 1:31:55Speaker 18: I would just redirect you to that. I mean, these
- 1:31:57Speaker 18: are very personal decisions where you have to get really
- 1:32:01Speaker 18: real with yourself about what might this cost you and
- 1:32:04Speaker 18: is this going to be damaging to your emotional health.
- 1:32:07Speaker 18: Sometimes we tell ourselves a story that we have to
- 1:32:09Speaker 18: do something for someone that isn't really as true as
- 1:32:12Speaker 18: it might seem. You don't have to do this, I mean,
- 1:32:15Speaker 18: why your mom would invite her when she knew this situation.
- 1:32:18Speaker 18: Obviously we're not in her head. But now that that's
- 1:32:21Speaker 18: been done, I think you have a hard but important
- 1:32:23Speaker 18: choice about do you want to move forward with this.
- 1:32:26Speaker 18: And I think it's absolutely fine for your family, regardless
- 1:32:30Speaker 18: of how you feel about your parents, to decline to go.
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: Wow, But what about the guilt she's gonna fade.
- 1:32:37Speaker 15: I'm the one that wanted to go to the beach,
- 1:32:39Speaker 15: so that makes it even hard.
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: Well, right, I.
- 1:32:43Speaker 15: Did let my mom know that if it goes sideways,
- 1:32:46Speaker 15: we will leave.
- 1:32:47Speaker 11: Yeah, we will pay for our part, but good, but
- 1:32:51Speaker 11: know that we will leave good for you.
- 1:32:55Speaker 7: Now.
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: My question for Collette was with her situation that her
- 1:32:58Speaker 4: mom even would go so far as to invite the
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: sister and then instruct everyone let's just keep this light
- 1:33:05Speaker 4: in breezy, knowing that it has been anything. But why
- 1:33:09Speaker 4: why would you choose to do that on this trip?
- 1:33:11Speaker 18: Because you're focused on yourself and your own needs and
- 1:33:14Speaker 18: not really perspective taking. Unfortunately, and I'm not trying to
- 1:33:17Speaker 18: villainize your mom. I don't know this situation.
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: That's exactly.
- 1:33:20Speaker 18: It isn't fair to you.
- 1:33:22Speaker 15: It's totally idealism. She wants the happy family and dad's
- 1:33:25Speaker 15: now been given a diagnosis on a time man.
- 1:33:27Speaker 18: Yeah, that's hard.
- 1:33:29Speaker 15: It is hard. I see her side of it.
- 1:33:32Speaker 11: Yeah, one hunt, I'm not mad at my mom, I'm
- 1:33:34Speaker 11: just challenged with can I do this?
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: Well? Carrie, We will listen. We wish you the very best,
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: make the decision best for you. And by the way,
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: if it goes bad though, it is definitely that's fault. Okay,
- 1:33:47Speaker 2: reach out, Yeah, we look it. Update, Please carry if
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: you don't mind, all right, yeah, nine four one. By

- 1:34:18Speaker 1: to leave TK Law today at six twenty on The
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:34:24Speaker 14: One of the most important things in relationships, and especially
- 1:34:28Speaker 14: in intimate long term relationships is eyes.
- 1:34:31Speaker 7: Your eyes. You know you already know everything just looking
- 1:34:36Speaker 7: over and so yeah, empathy, let's go with that. But
- 1:34:40Speaker 7: the eyes. I'm back to the eyes, and then you
- 1:34:44Speaker 7: have to have great movement.
- 1:34:45Speaker 14: After that it's already known or other reset person is
- 1:34:48Speaker 14: just the dumbest and it's resentment and then murder.
- 1:34:54Speaker 2: Okay, that escalated quickly, is why I follow this niper. Yeah,
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: you're five o'clock. Keyworders bank and that's be k. Go
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: to Real Radio dot FM and send that away for
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: your chance in a thousand bucks bank is the word. Guys, remember,
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: if you're in the game, phone on, phone up, keep
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: it near you, don't leave it anywhere. They call you
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: to tell you how you've won. Guy, So you got
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: to pick up the phone if you're in the game.
- 1:35:14Speaker 4: I only have to wait a know.
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: I'm Jim devis here, Eliza, and so is Raws. It's true.
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: And of course our friend Collette Fair is here. What
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: is the name of the friend? But what is the
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: name of your business? Again?
- 1:35:23Speaker 18: I collect Jay Fair Counseling Services. Technically we're really just
- 1:35:28Speaker 18: my name. I'm in Baldwin Park.
- 1:35:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, easy to find for sure, and anytime you
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: want to call if you have any issues with your relationship.
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: She's awesome. She also does a lot with Tom and
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: Dan and has a show right here on Real Radio
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: called Love Thy Neighbor. On Thursday nights. You don't do enough.
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: That's your problem is you need to kind of expand
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: a little bit more.
- 1:35:44Speaker 18: I know, right, I really need to go to that program.
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: Yeah. By the way, if you do have a question
- 1:35:47Speaker 2: about your relationship or a relationship, we've had one. We
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: have one here about a wife. We have someone the
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: texting service about wives. We also have them about family
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: members as well. I have a question.
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: I've heard this and I really really liked it, but
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: I don't know if I can apply it because I'm
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: not strong enough. But I heard this saying about a
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: marriage and relationship is that if somebody does something more
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: than three times that you don't like, start loving it.
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: Wow ooh man really and that I don't know, just
- 1:36:16Speaker 3: never heard that. It made me think, and I think
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: it helps in a lot of ways. I don't know
- 1:36:22Speaker 3: if that would help or apply to a marriage.
- 1:36:25Speaker 5: I love the way you leave these kitchen cabinet doors
- 1:36:27Speaker 5: open every time you get a glass out of that.
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: Nothing's better than the drawer open when you take a
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: knife out and then don't close it. So we got
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: to be careful. Tools out of my toolbox and you
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: don't put them back. Get we're getting specific and I
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: like it, But you're taking ninety sixties deep Well, Socket
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: didn't use it to smoke pipe and get it all
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: that the sticky stuff. How am I supposed to use
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: it now?
- 1:36:50Speaker 4: It's just creativity. You just need to soak it in
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: some alcohol.
- 1:36:53Speaker 2: Yeah, when you take my socks off with your teeth,
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: I don't mind that one went I'm sorry loud all right,
- 1:37:01Speaker 2: I mean that doesn't sound so bad.
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: Actually do something more than three times that you don't like,
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: learn to love it? What say you to that adage?
- 1:37:11Speaker 18: So I'm gonna I'm gonna interpret that a little bit.
- 1:37:14Speaker 18: That we're talking about patterns. Right, If people show you
- 1:37:17Speaker 18: who they are, something is going to bother you, and
- 1:37:20Speaker 18: there is a certain degree of acceptance we have to
- 1:37:23Speaker 18: come to. You're not going to love everything. You can't
- 1:37:27Speaker 18: get yourself so agitated over every little thing. That said,
- 1:37:30Speaker 18: I'm hesitant to endorse that because I really believe that
- 1:37:34Speaker 18: for psychological health, we've got to really honor ourselves and
- 1:37:38Speaker 18: you've got to really decide go inward, sit with yourself,
- 1:37:42Speaker 18: notice your feelings, and ask yourself how important is this really?
- 1:37:46Speaker 18: Is this something I can let go of without resentment?
- 1:37:49Speaker 18: Because if you're just stuffing it down or trying to
- 1:37:51Speaker 18: sell yourself on an idea that probably isn't going to work.
- 1:37:55Speaker 18: But we do have to try to view our partners
- 1:37:58Speaker 18: with a positive lens to some degree.
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: Yeah, one hundred percent.
- 1:38:01Speaker 4: A lot of times I'm just like, it's not worth
- 1:38:03Speaker 4: the fight. It's not worth the hurt feelings, it's not
- 1:38:06Speaker 4: worth the resentment, it's not worth saying something that you
- 1:38:09Speaker 4: can never take back.
- 1:38:10Speaker 3: Well so, and I'm right there with you, deb But
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: I am a dumb farm animal some days and I'm
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: sleep deprived, and what happens with me is that a
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: lot of times I go, it's not worth it, it's
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: not worth it. And then the thing that's and is
- 1:38:23Speaker 3: actually not worth it is the thing that breaks that straw.
- 1:38:28Speaker 3: And now I'm confronting something that if it wasn't for
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: those six other instances where I'm like, it's not worth it,
- 1:38:33Speaker 3: I don't think I would confront that seventh thing.
- 1:38:36Speaker 18: Okay, I'm so glad you said that, because I wrote
- 1:38:39Speaker 18: a book called The Cost of Quiet It is about that. Well,
- 1:38:41Speaker 18: and this is the thing that you have to be
- 1:38:44Speaker 18: really careful about. I think everyone feels this way. It's
- 1:38:47Speaker 18: not worth it. I don't want to get in a fight.
- 1:38:49Speaker 18: It's not that big of a deal. But it is
- 1:38:51Speaker 18: true that those little things often do matter, and when
- 1:38:55Speaker 18: we sweep them under the rug, if that's what we're doing,
- 1:38:58Speaker 18: they become bigger, problems move underground, and long term they
- 1:39:03Speaker 18: compound because they turn into resentment and disconnection. So I
- 1:39:06Speaker 18: think the catches if we can identify what's really bothering us,
- 1:39:10Speaker 18: and instead of criticizing the other person or having it
- 1:39:14Speaker 18: come out sideway saying something we regret, we can actually say, hey,
- 1:39:17Speaker 18: this is how this made me feel.
- 1:39:19Speaker 12: This is the.
- 1:39:19Speaker 18: Impact on me, and we really own that. The things
- 1:39:22Speaker 18: that trigger or bother us our partners supplying it with
- 1:39:26Speaker 18: their behavior. But the way we react is really about us.
- 1:39:29Speaker 18: It's our history, it's our personality. If you come from
- 1:39:32Speaker 18: that place, a lot of things can be cleared up
- 1:39:35Speaker 18: and then resentment doesn't have a chance to accumulate.
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: Also, I think the assumed fear of the response of
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: what you're going to say to that person will stop
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: you from doing that. If you think this is going
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: to cause a fight, you have this presumed fear that's
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: going to happen, and I can liken it to this.
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: It's like work. I worked at a print shop for
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: another person years and years ago, and that person what
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: tell me that they needed me to do this c
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: thing because they felt that I had the job, I
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: should know how to do that or know to do that.
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: And this person actually kind of blew up on me
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: one time, said, god, man, what is it you? But
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: but I'm like, well, you never told me to do that.
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: I didn't do this before. All you had to do
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: is just ask me. And he wound up apologizing and saying, well,
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: I like you when you do that, said, I'm your employee, dog,
- 1:40:19Speaker 2: you could just kind of ask me to do this.
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: It's just communicate with me. And I find that, you know,
- 1:40:23Speaker 2: in other relationship I had, you can find that happened.
- 1:40:26Speaker 18: Oh, that happens all the time. I mean the anticipation
- 1:40:29Speaker 18: of a reaction. Now I'm not saying it doesn't sometimes
- 1:40:32Speaker 18: go badly. And there's truth that in some relationships people
- 1:40:35Speaker 18: have stuff. Some people, no matter how you say it,
- 1:40:38Speaker 18: they're not going to react. Well, they're not going to
- 1:40:40Speaker 18: hear it. I don't want to pretend that that doesn't happen,
- 1:40:42Speaker 18: but I will tell you day in and day out
- 1:40:44Speaker 18: and this is why I wrote the book. I was
- 1:40:45Speaker 18: seeing that so often it hadn't been said, or it
- 1:40:48Speaker 18: hadn't been said clearly or vulnerably or with respect, and
- 1:40:53Speaker 18: so people weren't getting the message. And then we're all
- 1:40:56Speaker 18: fearing it's wired into our system because we're so relational
- 1:40:59Speaker 18: that we don't want to do anything that could cause
- 1:41:02Speaker 18: a ref That's normal and human, but we also have to,
- 1:41:05Speaker 18: with emotional maturity, try to rise above that and bring
- 1:41:08Speaker 18: things forward in a really respectful way.
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: A Grede one hundred percent. We got a call here
- 1:41:11Speaker 2: from Paul. Let's find out what Paul has Paul, how
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: you do about your own call at fair? What's your question?
- 1:41:17Speaker 11: Why?
- 1:41:17Speaker 8: Hey, Jim Hi Misco left. Thanks for talking to me. Hey,
- 1:41:21Speaker 8: got a little issue with my wife. She and I
- 1:41:24Speaker 8: are both regstered nurses. We've been married ten, divorce fifteen,
- 1:41:30Speaker 8: married again successfully for ten. Yeah, but things are going bad.
- 1:41:37Speaker 8: But unfortunately she has a really just bad vibe with
- 1:41:43Speaker 8: going to see a doctor and she needs medical help.
- 1:41:46Speaker 8: I cannot, for the life of me, convince her to
- 1:41:52Speaker 8: go to the doctor. We've I made three appointments, one
- 1:41:55Speaker 8: of which is next Friday, but she answered the arch
- 1:42:00Speaker 8: it's very depressed. I mean, yeah, it's a communication part
- 1:42:04Speaker 8: on my part, or but I feel I sincerely love
- 1:42:08Speaker 8: my wife. I don't want her to die on me.
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: Yeah, Paul, I'm gonna hang up. Can listen to the radio,
- 1:42:13Speaker 2: Budy go ahead.
- 1:42:15Speaker 18: Yeah, I mean, this is really tough. It sounds like
- 1:42:17Speaker 18: you're concern for her. You can't make her do anything now.
- 1:42:21Speaker 18: I will say that if there's an issue with her safety,
- 1:42:24Speaker 18: or if she's depressed to the point where you think
- 1:42:27Speaker 18: she might not be able to make good decisions for herself,
- 1:42:30Speaker 18: or there's any kind of suicidal ideation, of course, always
- 1:42:33Speaker 18: we've got to address that. You can call nine to
- 1:42:35Speaker 18: eight eight if you need additional resources. I don't know
- 1:42:38Speaker 18: the ins and outs of the situation, but from a
- 1:42:40Speaker 18: communications standpoint, I would tell you the only thing you
- 1:42:43Speaker 18: can really do is to let her know. I'm coming
- 1:42:45Speaker 18: from a place of love's concerned for you. I'm not
- 1:42:48Speaker 18: trying to control you. I'm trying to help you because
- 1:42:51Speaker 18: I care about you so much and I don't know
- 1:42:53Speaker 18: what else to do when in doubt. What we've got
- 1:42:56Speaker 18: to come back to is what's going on inside of
- 1:42:58Speaker 18: you and letting that know how much. It hurts you
- 1:43:02Speaker 18: to see her struggling and not be able to do anything,
- 1:43:05Speaker 18: but you cannot force another adult to do anything they
- 1:43:09Speaker 18: don't want to do.
- 1:43:10Speaker 5: It's interesting because there's a lot of people who are
- 1:43:13Speaker 5: doctor avoidant, right, but they are both registered nurses, and
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: she who that's what he said, so and so she
- 1:43:23Speaker 5: works in that field and doesn't want to go. So
- 1:43:26Speaker 5: it does make you wonder if depression is playing your
- 1:43:29Speaker 5: role in that, and if you are depressed you're generally
- 1:43:32Speaker 5: not making the best decisions for yourself, or that that's
- 1:43:36Speaker 5: a potential concern.
- 1:43:38Speaker 18: Yeah, I mean, it doesn't surprise me that somebody in
- 1:43:40Speaker 18: the medical field would not necessarily apply those same principles
- 1:43:45Speaker 18: to themselves. I think we're very good at seeing what
- 1:43:47Speaker 18: other people need and not always ourselves. And also, I'm
- 1:43:50Speaker 18: just careful with the term depression because these terms, you know,
- 1:43:53Speaker 18: is it clinical depression, We don't know, We don't know
- 1:43:56Speaker 18: what that means. But I agree with you that if
- 1:43:59Speaker 18: she is depressed, it when you're depressed, you don't want
- 1:44:03Speaker 18: to do the very things that would help me to
- 1:44:05Speaker 18: feel less depressed or anything.
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: Stuff you enjoy, Collette.
- 1:44:08Speaker 5: You need to get on social media more There is
- 1:44:10Speaker 5: a term for every different medical health issue mental health
- 1:44:14Speaker 5: issue out there.
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: So yeah, you just have to find the one that
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: you associate with and claim it for your own.
- 1:44:20Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: You know, we're talking about the big D word, and
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: and I'll word it better next time. Depression.
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: He won't, he won't.
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: No, I didn't mean to lean into it. I thought
- 1:44:29Speaker 3: you were saying divorced and that's not even a pun
- 1:44:31Speaker 3: on my Endeh. There, I'm not leaning into anything but
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: the word depression. What are your biggest uh stereotypical signs
- 1:44:40Speaker 3: to you that jump out and go this party, This
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: person in this relationship or out of any relationship is depressed.
- 1:44:48Speaker 3: Where are your big telltale signs of depression?
- 1:44:51Speaker 18: Yeah, I mean a lack of motivation what we call annhidania,
- 1:44:55Speaker 18: which is the inability to experience joy, not wanting to
- 1:44:59Speaker 18: do even the things you enjoy. Now, the tricky part
- 1:45:03Speaker 18: is depression can look really different in different people. Some
- 1:45:06Speaker 18: people hide it really well. They don't realize that they're depressed.
- 1:45:11Speaker 18: They don't want anybody else to know what they're struggling
- 1:45:13Speaker 18: with internally and interestingly, in men, depression can often show
- 1:45:18Speaker 18: up as anger, irritability, risk taking behavior.
- 1:45:22Speaker 10: Stops.
- 1:45:25Speaker 18: Really tricky to diagnose, right, and then yeah.
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: Too much?
- 1:45:32Speaker 3: What was that word you said on a D I tried.
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: I tried spelling it and a Canadian popped up. I'm
- 1:45:42Speaker 3: not even close A N.
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: H E D O N I A.
- 1:45:46Speaker 18: It's hard to spell out of my head without paper.
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: But he's he's a left tackle for the Chargers from Hawaii.
- 1:45:53Speaker 18: And you're not necessarily having an hoddani if you're depressed.
- 1:45:56Speaker 18: I mean, that's the thing. It's a it's a constellation
- 1:45:59Speaker 18: of symptoms. You have to meet a certain criteria and
- 1:46:03Speaker 18: also diagnosing someone with depression. You can have a depressive episode,
- 1:46:08Speaker 18: you can have situational depression. And some people really do
- 1:46:13Speaker 18: run more depressed, right right, They have an internal state
- 1:46:18Speaker 18: that can default to depression even without a situational variable.
- 1:46:22Speaker 18: Other people, you lose your job, your poor leaves you.
- 1:46:26Speaker 18: You may go through about of depression, but you're not
- 1:46:29Speaker 18: gonna that's not your baseline.
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: Right, Yeah. I taking a question on the texting service.
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: I wanted to ask real quick before we get out here.
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: Talking to Colette Fair By the way, if you want
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: to pick up her book, it's called The Cost of Quiet,
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: you can find it everywhere, including on her website. We'll
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: give it to you here. One second says my wife
- 1:46:42Speaker 2: has moved moved out March. First. We've been living separately
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: with minimal communication. I know we both care, but I
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: guess it's a breathing period thing. The issue started because
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: of mental thoughts and change. I am the problem, but
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: I'm scared to say what I need for fear of
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: opening old wounds and anger. I don't know what to do.
- 1:47:00Speaker 11: Wow.
- 1:47:00Speaker 18: Yes, okay, so first of all, you do have to
- 1:47:03Speaker 18: say what you need, but I also understand why you're
- 1:47:05Speaker 18: scared to and it may be messy and bumpy. You know,
- 1:47:08Speaker 18: this is part of the process where people tend to
- 1:47:12Speaker 18: avoid because they don't want to rock the boater make
- 1:47:15Speaker 18: it worse. But that's only going to make it worse.
- 1:47:17Speaker 9: I think.
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: I think call that what it comes down to sometimes,
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: and I agree with you one hundred percent. I mean,
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: when you get into those situations, and I got into
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: this with my first marriage, I felt like attacking that
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: one thing that meant so much to me was the cam,
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: was the hair that broke the camel's back. I just
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: I felt in my mind like I've I've I've done everything,
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: and if I bring this up, this is going to
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: be the catalyst that pushes it over the edge. Therefore,
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: I never approached that issue, and of course it just
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: kept growing.
- 1:47:44Speaker 18: Exactly yea, yeah, exactly. You can't not address it. It
- 1:47:47Speaker 18: will not go away, it will get bigger. But I
- 1:47:49Speaker 18: also want to say, what really it comes down to
- 1:47:52Speaker 18: is how you say things. So much of the time,
- 1:47:55Speaker 18: it's not the issue, it's how we say it and
- 1:47:57Speaker 18: approaching the person you care about by saying that first,
- 1:48:02Speaker 18: what we call a soft startup or I like to
- 1:48:05Speaker 18: call a delicate dive into the conversation. Always start with attachment.
- 1:48:10Speaker 18: You mean a lot to me. I care about you
- 1:48:12Speaker 18: so much.
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: I really love you.
- 1:48:14Speaker 18: That's why I'm bringing this up. And acknowledge that you're
- 1:48:17Speaker 18: scared that kind of vulnerability. Just acknowledging how hard it
- 1:48:21Speaker 18: is to bring something up diffuses it, right. Yes, it
- 1:48:24Speaker 18: helps the other person to hear that you're not coming
- 1:48:27Speaker 18: with attack, but not trying to win. You're coming to collaborate.
- 1:48:30Speaker 18: You're coming from a place of care, and it disarms.
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: Yeah, like I can't imagine losing you, So I need
- 1:48:35Speaker 2: to say this to you kind of think this is
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: how much that it means to me kind of thing.
- 1:48:38Speaker 18: Yes, and I'm terrified to bring it up. I don't
- 1:48:40Speaker 18: want to fight with you. But at the same time,
- 1:48:42Speaker 18: because I care so much, I want us to be connected.
- 1:48:45Speaker 18: That's why I'm willing to take the risk to bring
- 1:48:46Speaker 18: this up.
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, wow dde, I'm ready to run through a
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: lovely do you do you? Come on it ready? I
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: want to make all of my wife right now. You
- 1:48:56Speaker 2: offer coaching, my job is done?
- 1:48:58Speaker 22: I do?
- 1:48:59Speaker 2: I do you offer coaching?
- 1:49:00Speaker 11: I do?
- 1:49:01Speaker 15: Now?
- 1:49:01Speaker 2: When I I mean? Is that you? So coaching would
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: just be therapy if both people were involved. But like,
- 1:49:06Speaker 2: let's say this gentleman who just saw a text up
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: he said, look, you know what, I want to learn
- 1:49:10Speaker 2: how to approach this with my wife. So he could
- 1:49:12Speaker 2: book an appointment with you and you could literally like
- 1:49:15Speaker 2: kind of coach him on how to discuss that. He
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: could give you a brief, like a brief explanation of
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: like how is wife his personality wise or whatever, and
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: then you could work with him maybe with approaches on
- 1:49:24Speaker 2: how to kind of get into that content. Absolutely, and
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: I will say that's pretty cool. I've not heard that.
- 1:49:29Speaker 18: But also far more accessible and less expensive my book
- 1:49:34Speaker 18: is this. I give you exactly how to say it.
- 1:49:37Speaker 18: I give you a blueprint to process what's happening and
- 1:49:40Speaker 18: come forward with another person, whether it's a sibling, a parent,
- 1:49:43Speaker 18: or a partner, in a way that really gives you
- 1:49:46Speaker 18: the best chance to be heard.
- 1:49:47Speaker 3: You're you're like an actual real world Hitch, but five
- 1:49:50Speaker 3: years into marriage. Yeah, it's a different movie. Imagine if
- 1:49:54Speaker 3: Hitch was all married people like ten years in.
- 1:49:56Speaker 2: Pay Why have I not thought of this before?
- 1:49:58Speaker 8: Now?
- 1:49:59Speaker 2: And you're not fat on a segue, which is awesome.

- 1:54:15Speaker 2: one seed spitting lines. All right, we're talking about watermelons.
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: Which one of these is not true. Number one, technically
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: watermelons are berries. Number two, watermelons have been harvested for
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: over five thousand years. There are hieroglyphics depicting watermelons in
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: the ruins of Egypt. Number three, every single part of
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: the watermelon is edible. Or lastly, there are over nine
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: hundred species of watermelon. Which of those is a lie?
- 1:54:44Speaker 2: Number three, No, that's absolutely true. Every single part of
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: the watermelon is edible. A matter of fact. In Asian cultures,
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: what they do is they take that, they slice it
- 1:54:53Speaker 2: up rope thin, and they pick it and they put
- 1:54:55Speaker 2: it on everything.
- 1:54:56Speaker 3: They do that a lot with all kinds of stuff there.
- 1:54:58Speaker 3: But yeah, I a hot take watermelons. I love, of
- 1:55:01Speaker 3: course the red part of a watermelon. But I also
- 1:55:04Speaker 3: like it that like green white yet that white right there,
- 1:55:08Speaker 3: it's kind of like a cucumber. But dude, I gotta
- 1:55:10Speaker 3: tell you something. It's part of that family.
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: By the way. What's kind of wild, though, is as kids.
- 1:55:13Speaker 2: I don't know if you experienced this when we grew up.
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: If you your parents told you do not eat the
- 1:55:18Speaker 2: green part of the watermelon or the one part you'll
- 1:55:20Speaker 2: get sick of your stomach. Yes, exactly, And it's not
- 1:55:23Speaker 2: true at all. Biggest myth ever, Like all right, one, three,
- 1:55:27Speaker 2: four or five? Still?

- 1:55:37Speaker 2: We're talking about watermelons here. Which one of these is
- 1:55:39Speaker 2: not true? Number one, technically watermelons are berries. Number two,
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: watermelons have been harvested for over five thousand years. There
- 1:55:46Speaker 2: are hieroglyphics depicting watermelons. Or lastly, there are over nine
- 1:55:49Speaker 2: hundred species of watermelon. Oh man, I just can't see hieroglyphics.
- 1:55:55Speaker 2: I go Number two true. Unfortunately, watermelons have been harvested
- 1:55:59Speaker 2: for over five thousand years and there were hieroglyphics depicting watermelons.
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: Then go back that far. Yeah, I got another one
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: for you, all right? One? Three or four?
- 1:56:10Speaker 4: Deb?

- 1:56:19Speaker 2: one of these is not true? Number one? Technically watermelons
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: are berries? Or lastly, there are over nine hundred species
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: of watermelon.
- 1:56:28Speaker 20: I'm gonna go with the berry thing because that's kind
- 1:56:32Speaker 20: of hard.

- 1:59:13Speaker 2: in it's so delicious. It's perfectly sweet. That's more lycopen
- 1:59:17Speaker 2: in it than tomatoes. And uh, but you're not supposed
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: to put it into the fridge until you're about to
- 1:59:22Speaker 2: eat it. Just leave it out and when you want
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: to eat it, put it in the fridge the night
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: before and then cut it up. Not it turns the
- 1:59:28Speaker 2: flesh mealy. It is a great food after you exercise it.
- 1:59:33Speaker 2: I don't know I would answer your body. I just
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: know it.
- 1:59:35Speaker 5: I mean it's it just feels like you're getting water
- 1:59:40Speaker 5: and nation. I've been ping cherries lately a couple a
- 1:59:44Speaker 5: few cherries every day. And I'm telling you, when you
- 1:59:45Speaker 5: eat a cherry, that juice, you could just feel that
- 1:59:48Speaker 5: healing stuff, Like it's a different kind of juice all together.
- 1:59:51Speaker 2: The juice out of the cherries at my house are
- 1:59:53Speaker 2: usually bourbon.
- 1:59:54Speaker 3: There's one thing that I really really really want to try,
- 1:59:57Speaker 3: and you're talking about Japan and their watermelon. So they're
- 2:00:00Speaker 3: sci fi with their watermelons. Check out cubes. Yeah yeah,
- 2:00:03Speaker 3: they watermelons. They'll they'll grow them in a box, so
- 2:00:06Speaker 3: they basically torture the water melons.
- 2:00:08Speaker 2: They're like one hundred and fifty bucks a piece or something.
- 2:00:10Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, and then you just cut it like a
- 2:00:12Speaker 2: Rubik's cube. Yeah yeah. And there is a there is
- 2:00:15Speaker 2: a really rare breed I want to say it's called
- 2:00:18Speaker 2: like the Haywood watermelon. But they're mega mega suite and
- 2:00:22Speaker 2: they're grown up in like Connecticut or something. The family
- 2:00:24Speaker 2: couldn't grow them fast enough for commercial so they kind
- 2:00:28Speaker 2: of they kind of the farm kind of went out
- 2:00:30Speaker 2: of business. But now the great great great grandson's bringing
- 2:00:33Speaker 2: it back and they're supposed to be like like the
- 2:00:35Speaker 2: luxury watermelons here in the US. There you go, all right,
- 2:00:39Speaker 2: four seven nine one got another keyword for you right
- 2:00:42Speaker 2: now in sports on the other side of their buddy
- 2:00:43Speaker 2: Brandon Cravits.
- 2:00:48Speaker 7: During times of slavery, watermelons were grown next to cotton,
- 2:00:53Speaker 7: so when the slaves were picking cotton, they were able
- 2:00:56Speaker 7: to stay hydrated. And it's full of fiber.
- 2:00:59Speaker 13: As regarding watermelons, seriously, you gotta look this up. Did
- 2:01:13Speaker 13: you know that watermelons will scream when they're overripe? Trust me,
- 2:01:19Speaker 13: it's the weirdest thing you ever heard in your life.
- 2:01:22Speaker 13: They actually screamed.
- 2:01:28Speaker 2: Your six o'clock Heyward is fun if you in go
- 2:01:31Speaker 2: to real Radio one oh four point one and send
- 2:01:34Speaker 2: that away from your chance on one thousand bucks. Fun guys,
- 2:01:36Speaker 2: that is your six o'clock Heyward. Good luck. We hope
- 2:01:39Speaker 2: you win some money for sure. That was the best
- 2:01:42Speaker 2: top back ever.
- 2:01:43Speaker 7: You know.
- 2:01:43Speaker 2: Why give me enough time to get our next guest
- 2:01:46Speaker 2: set up?
- 2:01:46Speaker 3: Ever?
- 2:01:48Speaker 2: Devis here Jacks every single Monday around the time we
- 2:01:54Speaker 2: do sports.
- 2:01:57Speaker 9: Nice time to get your game on to Jim Colbert Show.
- 2:02:01Speaker 1: Unleish is the guy with the hottest takes sharpest insights
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: in zero chill when it comes to sportskersprending.
- 2:02:08Speaker 2: Creviit credit feel the excitement. I know what that is.
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: I can literally feel the excitement through the zoom call
- 2:02:25Speaker 2: that you are about to enter the good part of
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: your year. My friend, look at this.
- 2:02:31Speaker 6: Not only do I have the Dolphins pennant behind me,
- 2:02:34Speaker 6: They're gonna suck this year. Don't focus on that, got
- 2:02:36Speaker 6: my fantasy magazine. I've been thumbing through this gotta. I mean,
- 2:02:42Speaker 6: I'm just every day, as I mentioned a couple of
- 2:02:44Speaker 6: weeks ago, thirty two teams in thirty two days, tackling
- 2:02:48Speaker 6: a team a.
- 2:02:49Speaker 2: Day throughout the next month. I uh yeah, I'm properly
- 2:02:53Speaker 2: jacked up.
- 2:02:54Speaker 6: I was curious also when that Autobond Park was gonna
- 2:02:57Speaker 6: go away in my ears, that was, oh yeah, very
- 2:03:01Speaker 6: calming noise.
- 2:03:01Speaker 2: Yeah. So, of course Brandon does sports over ninety six
- 2:03:05Speaker 2: nine in the game along with Mike Miyuki. What is
- 2:03:08Speaker 2: the big talking thing today, buddy? What were you guys?
- 2:03:10Speaker 2: What was going on?
- 2:03:11Speaker 6: The biggest storyline in sports today is that it's the
- 2:03:15Speaker 6: Major League Baseball trade deadline that just ended six minutes ago.
- 2:03:21Speaker 6: But the biggest news we got early early this morning.
- 2:03:24Speaker 6: I woke up in the middle of the night because
- 2:03:26Speaker 6: I'm forty and I think once you once you get
- 2:03:29Speaker 6: to forty, it's like multiple times the night you wake
- 2:03:32Speaker 6: up the pee. Yeah, it's like, I mean, it's at
- 2:03:35Speaker 6: least twice, right, So I get up check the phone,
- 2:03:40Speaker 6: which you're not supposed to do, but I did it anyway,
- 2:03:42Speaker 6: And four o'clock in the morning, I see Tek Schooble,
- 2:03:46Speaker 6: one of the best pitchers in baseball. He's won two
- 2:03:48Speaker 6: Cy Young's over the last two years in the American League,
- 2:03:51Speaker 6: traded from the Tigers to the LA Dodgers of all.
- 2:03:56Speaker 2: Teams, and Rich again man Richer. Yeah, crazy, dude.
- 2:04:01Speaker 6: If you look at the the best five pitchers in
- 2:04:04Speaker 6: terms of era, if that's the metric that you want
- 2:04:07Speaker 6: to use, which is a pretty good one for pitchers,
- 2:04:09Speaker 6: the best five since twenty twenty two, four of them
- 2:04:13Speaker 6: are on the LA Dodgers.
- 2:04:15Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 2:04:15Speaker 6: With Trek scuoball going over there, it feels like a
- 2:04:18Speaker 6: fore gone conclusion that this team is going to win
- 2:04:21Speaker 6: the World Series. If Hard Rock bet is still laying
- 2:04:24Speaker 6: the plus one forty five on them to win it all,
- 2:04:27Speaker 6: just go ahead and scoop that up right now.
- 2:04:28Speaker 2: It's the best advice that I can give you.
- 2:04:30Speaker 6: If we're all going to live in miseries baseball fans
- 2:04:33Speaker 6: that nobody else has a shot, we might as well
- 2:04:35Speaker 6: make some money off.
- 2:04:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, incredible though. I mean I was just talking
- 2:04:38Speaker 2: to deb the other day. I mean, the Brewers had
- 2:04:40Speaker 2: this kid called the mizz that frows it like one
- 2:04:42Speaker 2: hundred and fifty thousand miles an hour into the ninth inning.
- 2:04:45Speaker 2: And they're one of the hotter teams in baseball. I mean,
- 2:04:48Speaker 2: any showing of any other team kind of vying for
- 2:04:52Speaker 2: any position at all coming up. Yeah, it wasn't just
- 2:04:56Speaker 2: the Dodgers, but the Dodgers got the big name.
- 2:04:58Speaker 6: School Ball is the guy that was talked about a
- 2:04:59Speaker 6: lot over the last couple of weeks, and the Brewers
- 2:05:02Speaker 6: were mentioned as a team that could be potentially in
- 2:05:05Speaker 6: on the school Sweepstakes, And that would have been nasty
- 2:05:07Speaker 6: because they have Jacob Mazerowski as their ace, and then
- 2:05:10Speaker 6: would pitch school bol those guys going one to two
- 2:05:13Speaker 6: in a playoff series, Good luck trying to catch up.
- 2:05:16Speaker 2: That did not happen.
- 2:05:17Speaker 6: Teams like the Brewers and the Rays, they're just they're
- 2:05:20Speaker 6: smaller markets that have a really hard time giving away
- 2:05:24Speaker 6: their prospects. That's how you make trades in Major League baseball,
- 2:05:27Speaker 6: you don't trade draft picks, you trade prospects. Those teams
- 2:05:30Speaker 6: are built organically and it's really hard for them to
- 2:05:33Speaker 6: win in free agency against the behemoths of the Dodgers
- 2:05:36Speaker 6: and the Yankees and the Mets stink, but they spend
- 2:05:39Speaker 6: a lot of money every year. The Red Sox are
- 2:05:42Speaker 6: among them as well. Yeah, any way back to your question.
- 2:05:44Speaker 2: But you know the thing, but just like with LA
- 2:05:46Speaker 2: it comes to football or basketball, Brandon, you know that
- 2:05:48Speaker 2: there's there's another factor that goes in there. You're in LA, man,
- 2:05:51Speaker 2: I mean, you're in the You have more opportunities to
- 2:05:54Speaker 2: get more money outside of your sport. And being in
- 2:05:56Speaker 2: LA in New York and all these big markets. I
- 2:05:58Speaker 2: mean it it is kind of we saw this with basketball,
- 2:06:01Speaker 2: was Giannis. I mean, who wants to live in Milwaukee?
- 2:06:04Speaker 2: I mean, I don't mean to be a douche about
- 2:06:06Speaker 2: it or whatever. I mean, this kid is gonna play
- 2:06:08Speaker 2: probably three or four seasons in Milwaukee. Then he's gonna
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: take his one hundred and five on our fastball somewhere
- 2:06:12Speaker 2: where people can see him. But to also just counter
- 2:06:15Speaker 2: that point, Milwaukee won. They won.
- 2:06:18Speaker 3: Yeah, they pulled a ring. He might be gone but
- 2:06:21Speaker 3: I for me, all I hear is like, oh yeah,
- 2:06:24Speaker 3: this is why they have a salary cap but another sport.
- 2:06:27Speaker 2: But it's also one of the reasons Lebron left originally
- 2:06:29Speaker 2: too right, because I mean, you want to be in
- 2:06:31Speaker 2: a market where you can be seen. There's some swagger
- 2:06:33Speaker 2: in those markets. Miami has swagger. La has swagger. New
- 2:06:36Speaker 2: York has swagger. You could say Atlanta has swagger. Milwaukee
- 2:06:39Speaker 2: does not have swagger. They have beer.
- 2:06:42Speaker 3: Well, I mean Lebron going to Miami, I think it's
- 2:06:45Speaker 3: just for even a winning culture. Pat Riley and those teammates.
- 2:06:49Speaker 2: Would killed it. She killed it to us, this is
- 2:06:51Speaker 2: a fine city, no reason to bring your kids up here,
- 2:06:53Speaker 2: live here. But and he hauled asked La fast as
- 2:06:55Speaker 2: he could go.
- 2:06:56Speaker 3: Imagine if this city was like, you're not worth that
- 2:06:58Speaker 3: one hundred and million contract.
- 2:07:00Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 2:07:01Speaker 6: But to be clear, though, we're having two separate conversations,
- 2:07:04Speaker 6: and the one about living in LA and attracting stars
- 2:07:07Speaker 6: because they're willing to pay a lot and they're in
- 2:07:09Speaker 6: a big market. All of that is valid in free agency.
- 2:07:12Speaker 6: Trek Scooball didn't choose to go to the Dodgers. They
- 2:07:15Speaker 6: traded for him. How are they able to trade for him.
- 2:07:17Speaker 6: In baseball, being good is about two things, having a
- 2:07:20Speaker 6: good farm system and having a lot of money, And
- 2:07:22Speaker 6: the Dodgers are really good at both. And money is
- 2:07:26Speaker 6: just your market and your TV deal and all and
- 2:07:30Speaker 6: your prestige as a brand. That's why the Yankees and
- 2:07:34Speaker 6: the Dodgers check a lot of those boxes and can
- 2:07:36Speaker 6: spend more than everybody else. Right this is there's not
- 2:07:39Speaker 6: equity in Major League Baseball like there is in the NFL.
- 2:07:42Speaker 6: But the Dodgers are also insanely smart. They have a
- 2:07:45Speaker 6: really good farm system, so they are able to trade
- 2:07:48Speaker 6: top level prospects. And not only are they able to
- 2:07:51Speaker 6: beat teams with money in free agency, they beat teams
- 2:07:54Speaker 6: at the deadline by trading guys that aren't going to
- 2:07:57Speaker 6: see the light of day in five years because they
- 2:07:59Speaker 6: want to in right now.
- 2:08:01Speaker 2: And that's how they got scooball.
- 2:08:03Speaker 21: Uh.
- 2:08:03Speaker 2: It sucks because it's it's just like this.
- 2:08:07Speaker 6: It's like, the best example I can give is it
- 2:08:10Speaker 6: is the smart kid with the It's this popular kid
- 2:08:13Speaker 6: with the silver spoon in his mouth that's also really
- 2:08:16Speaker 6: charming and so smart.
- 2:08:17Speaker 2: Exactly, you would hate him so much, but you just
- 2:08:19Speaker 2: can't it's like, could you beat that? It's something? How
- 2:08:22Speaker 2: much is that Magic Johnson?
- 2:08:26Speaker 6: I think he's got a little bit to do with it.
- 2:08:29Speaker 6: But he's a minority owner for the Dodgers, so it's
- 2:08:32Speaker 6: a it's a.
- 2:08:35Speaker 2: Oh my god, dude, stop it when you please stop
- 2:08:37Speaker 2: a minority I got him. He said he's a minority owner.
- 2:08:42Speaker 2: You know somebody who you believe? He said that, I am, Well,
- 2:08:48Speaker 2: that's pretty exciting news. Uh, you want to have a
- 2:08:51Speaker 2: twenty minute conversation about the Rocket Classic real quick? Nobody
- 2:08:54Speaker 2: does anyway. So football starts like in a couple of days.
- 2:09:00Speaker 6: Yeah, the Hall of Fame game is on Thursday, so
- 2:09:03Speaker 6: if you want to watch dudes knock their heads off
- 2:09:05Speaker 6: and you might not recognize anybody, but Thursday night is
- 2:09:09Speaker 6: when it begins. The Cardinals and the Panthers will get
- 2:09:11Speaker 6: us going. In the first preseason game. It's like the
- 2:09:14Speaker 6: pre preseason game, so nobody plays, but it's still football,
- 2:09:18Speaker 6: and you'll watch a couple of brands that you're familiar with.
- 2:09:21Speaker 6: And then right after that is when the real fake
- 2:09:24Speaker 6: stuff starts, with the actual preseason in the following week.
- 2:09:28Speaker 6: So we're here, I mean, the beauty of it in
- 2:09:30Speaker 6: terms of my world is somebody who is obsessed with football,
- 2:09:33Speaker 6: and from an analysis and a fan perspective is that
- 2:09:37Speaker 6: we're getting news, highlights and all of that out of
- 2:09:40Speaker 6: training camp every single day, and so this is where
- 2:09:45Speaker 6: the conversation really starts, the previews start, all of that.
- 2:09:50Speaker 6: It's not like when you're talking about this stuff in
- 2:09:52Speaker 6: June and you're force feeding it to your audience. This
- 2:09:56Speaker 6: is when this stuff matters. Like the forty nine ers
- 2:09:58Speaker 6: right now are dealing with a very real injuries already. Yeah,
- 2:10:02Speaker 6: in training camp. This is very real news that's coming out.
- 2:10:07Speaker 6: The contract stuff with Baker Mayfield, the Bucks did not
- 2:10:11Speaker 6: extend him. He was not happy with the offer. He
- 2:10:13Speaker 6: said to the media that he feels genuinely disrespected, and
- 2:10:17Speaker 6: their best defensive player, Vita Veya, also requested a trade.
- 2:10:20Speaker 6: So we got a lot of stuff that's been coming out.
- 2:10:23Speaker 6: Liam Cohen, the head coach of the Jaguars, said to
- 2:10:26Speaker 6: the media recently that he loves the fact that he
- 2:10:29Speaker 6: gets to sell to his team that nobody talks about
- 2:10:31Speaker 6: them and he basically uses that as fuel.
- 2:10:34Speaker 2: To get these guys motivated.
- 2:10:35Speaker 7: Ye.
- 2:10:35Speaker 6: Yeah, there's stuff everywhere we look. There's gonna be this
- 2:10:38Speaker 6: team in Florida this year. I think it's gonna be
- 2:10:41Speaker 6: Jacksonville pretty easily. I'm really excited about them. I think
- 2:10:45Speaker 6: Liam Cohen's offense has just jelled perfectly and delivering a
- 2:10:51Speaker 6: little bit more of what was promised. With Trevor Lawrence.
- 2:10:54Speaker 6: They're gonna miss Travis etn and those two have played
- 2:10:57Speaker 6: together since college and he's now on the Saints, but
- 2:11:01Speaker 6: they're gonna go with a running back by committee approach.
- 2:11:03Speaker 6: They've got really good wide receivers and they get to
- 2:11:06Speaker 6: add Travis Hunter back into the fold on both sides
- 2:11:10Speaker 6: of the ball. However much they use him on both
- 2:11:13Speaker 6: sides is still very much in question. But that's the
- 2:11:15Speaker 6: guy they traded up to number two overall in last
- 2:11:18Speaker 6: year's draft, and it took a while for him to
- 2:11:21Speaker 6: get his footing. He's trying to play on both sides,
- 2:11:23Speaker 6: which is just so soon it ever happens in the NFL.
- 2:11:27Speaker 6: And then he got hurt in practice away through the season,
- 2:11:30Speaker 6: just as it seemed like he was starting to break out.
- 2:11:32Speaker 2: So we'll get an idea.
- 2:11:33Speaker 6: I think that his additive whatever side he's on, he's
- 2:11:37Speaker 6: just such an elite talent. He's going to help the
- 2:11:39Speaker 6: team a lot. Defensively, they can rush the passer. There's
- 2:11:42Speaker 6: just a lot to like with Jacksonville. The blocks eye
- 2:11:46Speaker 6: have major questions about and the Dolphins are possibly the
- 2:11:50Speaker 6: worst team in the NFL.
- 2:11:54Speaker 2: The Raiders have moved up. You can hear him.
- 2:11:56Speaker 6: I like by the way jack the more research I
- 2:11:59Speaker 6: do as they every day passes. I like the Raiders
- 2:12:02Speaker 6: a lot. I actually think they're sneaky for the wild
- 2:12:06Speaker 6: card this year. I think they could legitimately make the playoffs.
- 2:12:09Speaker 6: And I believe them by the way they came out
- 2:12:11Speaker 6: and said Kirk Cousins is the starter. They plan on
- 2:12:14Speaker 6: keeping Mendoza, the number one overall pick, on the bench,
- 2:12:17Speaker 6: and I think they're gonna hold true to that.
- 2:12:19Speaker 2: Cousins still has a little game left, though, and there
- 2:12:21Speaker 2: ain't no way they're holding for to that. You have
- 2:12:24Speaker 2: unique unique opinion of mine.
- 2:12:26Speaker 6: I realize I'm in the minority, your delusional Every minority
- 2:12:30Speaker 6: again believes the same thing about Kirk Cousins.
- 2:12:33Speaker 2: He's gonna have two good games and then you're gonna
- 2:12:36Speaker 2: wonder how he made it into the league the remainder
- 2:12:38Speaker 2: of the season. It's exactly the same every single time
- 2:12:41Speaker 2: since he's with Atlanta. That's it. He's legend. Now. You
- 2:12:45Speaker 2: you need to watch the Quarterback series from two years
- 2:12:47Speaker 2: ago to appreciate. I didn't say he wasn't a good guy.
- 2:12:49Speaker 2: We gotta get out of here a running later, hurry.
- 2:12:51Speaker 2: It's just one of my favorite things about the Raiders
- 2:12:53Speaker 2: right now is that they got They got uh Pat
- 2:12:56Speaker 2: what's his name?
- 2:12:57Speaker 3: We were just talking about Mendoza, Menz Cousin. Yeah, Kirk Cousins,
- 2:13:01Speaker 3: ture with the cleanest.
- 2:13:02Speaker 2: Cut to the cornerback. The only person image.
- 2:13:05Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 2:13:05Speaker 2: The only person who's more Kirk Cousins than Kirk Cousins
- 2:13:09Speaker 2: is Friando Mandoza. They've got both of them, dude. Ye
- 2:13:13Speaker 2: always good seeing you, body, good, Laber, Brandon, everybody. I'm
- 2:13:19Speaker 2: a good We'll see you this week sometime, I'm sure.

- 2:14:04Speaker 2: good loud for mister Ray Trinley. I love this combination
- 2:14:11Speaker 2: of suit you have today, the black and the pink
- 2:14:13Speaker 2: is very classic. Thank you.
- 2:14:14Speaker 16: Yeah, I don't wear this suit as often as I should.
- 2:14:18Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:14:18Speaker 16: I don't think I'm a It's a charcoal black suit.
- 2:14:22Speaker 16: It looks good, and I feel like I'm either like
- 2:14:25Speaker 16: a Navy or a black guy. And then I've got
- 2:14:28Speaker 16: a couple of a couple of suits in between that
- 2:14:31Speaker 16: I wear in the office.
- 2:14:31Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, I will, I will respectfully disagree
- 2:14:34Speaker 2: with you. I think that color looks very good on you,
- 2:14:36Speaker 2: especially paired up with that pink, and I think you
- 2:14:38Speaker 2: could do blue under that as well and be fine.
- 2:14:39Speaker 2: Thank you. Multiple shades of that. Charcoal is great color. Buddy,
- 2:14:42Speaker 2: I love you and navy, but I would agree I
- 2:14:44Speaker 2: think you're a black guy.
- 2:14:46Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 2:14:46Speaker 16: I appreciate that. Yeah, black black suit guy. Uh No,
- 2:14:54Speaker 16: I appreciate that.
- 2:14:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:14:55Speaker 16: I don't know. I I have some things that they
- 2:14:58Speaker 16: are a little fancy or a little flylast year, which
- 2:15:00Speaker 16: I might use in core occasionally. But yeah, yeah, for
- 2:15:02Speaker 16: the most part, I'm pretty pretty standard.
- 2:15:05Speaker 2: Yeah stuff for sure. All right, Well, you see me
- 2:15:06Speaker 2: a couple of things to talk about today. One of
- 2:15:08Speaker 2: them was this woman who has complaints about construction and
- 2:15:12Speaker 2: how it's affecting her home. And and it's funny because
- 2:15:14Speaker 2: we talk about this a lot, especially with you know,
- 2:15:16Speaker 2: with the Space Coast and the cruise terminols kind of
- 2:15:19Speaker 2: building up and everything like that. People already complaining that
- 2:15:23Speaker 2: the launches are creating issues with their properties and we
- 2:15:26Speaker 2: haven't even begun the building over that it's going to
- 2:15:28Speaker 2: be happening over the next fifteen to twenty years. And
- 2:15:30Speaker 2: of course that's when we heard it with the I
- 2:15:32Speaker 2: four Ultimate. You know, people getting pylons driven in not
- 2:15:35Speaker 2: even probably thirty or forty feet from them, how their
- 2:15:37Speaker 2: home is driving them crazy. Causing damage. And there's another case.
- 2:15:40Speaker 16: Like this, Yeah, and this one has a little bit
- 2:15:42Speaker 16: interesting twist. So this is the turnpike expansion project down
- 2:15:47Speaker 16: in Ostila County near Kissimi, And this one took a
- 2:15:52Speaker 16: very interesting approach. She's suing the roadway contractor, so basically
- 2:15:57Speaker 16: the subcontractor on the project who is hired by the
- 2:16:01Speaker 16: state to buy you know, Florida Department Transportation to expand
- 2:16:04Speaker 16: this road. And what she's suing them for is a
- 2:16:07Speaker 16: combination of trespass, right, because what she's saying is that
- 2:16:11Speaker 16: there's dust and debris and dirt that is leaving the
- 2:16:14Speaker 16: construction site and they're not taking the appropriate measures and
- 2:16:19Speaker 16: care to stop that from happening, and so our house
- 2:16:22Speaker 16: is being covered in dust and dirt.
- 2:16:23Speaker 2: Is this the case you were talking about last week?
- 2:16:25Speaker 4: Yeah, news that we didn't.
- 2:16:27Speaker 2: Yeah, she was telling me about this and said that
- 2:16:29Speaker 2: the dirt, the dirt and the dust was so bad
- 2:16:31Speaker 2: that even inside our house they could like literally write
- 2:16:34Speaker 2: their names on their walls. But learning your air conditioning
- 2:16:37Speaker 2: to by the way.
- 2:16:37Speaker 16: But it's such a good argument, right because you know,
- 2:16:40Speaker 16: when we're talking about nuisance issues, right, for example, the
- 2:16:44Speaker 16: noise and stuff we talked about, the state always has
- 2:16:49Speaker 16: the defense that it's a public necessity we need to
- 2:16:53Speaker 16: do this. The trespass argument, though, doesn't have that same defense.
- 2:16:59Speaker 16: It's a high or standard for them to be able
- 2:17:01Speaker 16: to prove that what they're doing is reasonable. And I
- 2:17:03Speaker 16: think that, you know, from her point of view, I
- 2:17:06Speaker 16: think it's a really strong argument that you know, you can,
- 2:17:08Speaker 16: you know, take some time to water down and wet
- 2:17:11Speaker 16: down all the dustin de breed around the construction site.
- 2:17:14Speaker 2: Which they're supposed to do pretty frequently.
- 2:17:16Speaker 16: They're supposed to do right, And so again, why that
- 2:17:19Speaker 16: becomes a really creative and strong argument is, generally speaking,
- 2:17:23Speaker 16: these contractors are protected by sovereign immunity right, so the
- 2:17:26Speaker 16: state right will be sued up to a certain cap.
- 2:17:29Speaker 16: But if these contractors aren't following the contract that the
- 2:17:33Speaker 16: state sets up, there's a really good argument that they've
- 2:17:35Speaker 16: exceeded what they've been instructed to do by the state
- 2:17:38Speaker 16: and sovereign immunity may not apply.
- 2:17:40Speaker 2: So they kind of go rogue a little bit, so that.
- 2:17:42Speaker 16: They're going I mean, that's the argument, they've gone rogue.
- 2:17:45Speaker 16: State of Florida's doing everything they're supposed to do. They
- 2:17:47Speaker 16: put all the right stuff in the contract, They've given
- 2:17:49Speaker 16: them all the instructions, and this company's gone rogue. And
- 2:17:53Speaker 16: so I think it's a really creative argument to this
- 2:17:55Speaker 16: problem that we keep seeing across the state of Florida.
- 2:17:57Speaker 2: Now, although you may not be able to sue this
- 2:18:00Speaker 2: to Florida, is is it the fact that you can't
- 2:18:02Speaker 2: suit the construction company because they've been contracted by the
- 2:18:05Speaker 2: state and they fall under that same blanket of protection
- 2:18:08Speaker 2: that the state would correct.
- 2:18:09Speaker 16: Yeah, so that's exactly the concept. So you know, essentially
- 2:18:12Speaker 16: the contract would say is they're working as an agent
- 2:18:14Speaker 16: for the state r so therefore the sovereign moudity would
- 2:18:17Speaker 16: apply to them. So but I think it's a really
- 2:18:20Speaker 16: creative argument to kind of expand one of the one
- 2:18:23Speaker 16: of these issues that we keep singing in central Florida.
- 2:18:25Speaker 2: Would you just destroy that argument immediately by saying, Hey,
- 2:18:28Speaker 2: don't you guys have a truck that's jobbed specifically is
- 2:18:31Speaker 2: to spray water on dusty areas, to keep it from
- 2:18:34Speaker 2: doing this exact same thing. And if they say yes,
- 2:18:37Speaker 2: we're like, well, I mean you have a piece of
- 2:18:39Speaker 2: equipment designed to stop this what's going on?
- 2:18:42Speaker 16: Well, and it's not even just that. I mean they
- 2:18:44Speaker 16: have the those little street sweeper things. Yeah, the brushes,
- 2:18:48Speaker 16: and so they like this. There's a lot of things
- 2:18:50Speaker 16: that they can do to Have you ever driven behind
- 2:18:53Speaker 16: one of those, Oh yeah.
- 2:18:54Speaker 2: No, thank you. It's the worst. It's the worst ever, Like,
- 2:18:57Speaker 2: go two miles an hour and they're slinging rocks and
- 2:18:59Speaker 2: dirt up everywhere, up in your grill. Oh no, it's
- 2:19:02Speaker 2: kind of like a it's like our version of a rumba. Yeah,
- 2:19:05Speaker 2: but that's the closest thing that Doctor Seuss machine to
- 2:19:09Speaker 2: clean the house. After thinking they're cool, there's Zamboni's. But
- 2:19:13Speaker 2: for the real world.
- 2:19:15Speaker 16: Now, I don't know. I've been behind them a couple
- 2:19:17Speaker 16: of times, and every time behind them, it's it's a pace.
- 2:19:19Speaker 2: That's like getting behind a sand truck. That's always a
- 2:19:21Speaker 2: hoot as well just throwing rock, just just slinging rocks
- 2:19:24Speaker 2: and sand all over your.
- 2:19:26Speaker 16: So anyway, I think it's a really it's an interesting argument.
- 2:19:29Speaker 2: So let me ask a question. Okay, so you have
- 2:19:31Speaker 2: one woman voice that we are making this complaint, right,
- 2:19:34Speaker 2: but she is kind of speaking for a community, sure, Like,
- 2:19:38Speaker 2: so when it comes to cases like this, you know,
- 2:19:40Speaker 2: hear the words class action all the time. Usually it's
- 2:19:42Speaker 2: from a company that's issued a piece of equipment that
- 2:19:45Speaker 2: is hurting people, or whatever the case may be. Much
- 2:19:47Speaker 2: like the the the Aaron Brokovich, you know a one
- 2:19:51Speaker 2: company did something that hurt a bunch of people. She
- 2:19:53Speaker 2: gathered those people together to agree to a class action
- 2:19:57Speaker 2: lawsuit that says basically, hey, look it's just not me.
- 2:20:00Speaker 2: This entire community has signed on and we agree this
- 2:20:03Speaker 2: is really causing us a pain and the complete ass
- 2:20:06Speaker 2: Does that have more power than one person complaining or
- 2:20:09Speaker 2: does it matter at all?
- 2:20:10Speaker 15: No?
- 2:20:11Speaker 16: It absolutely does. So a couple of things. Generally speaking,
- 2:20:15Speaker 16: for class actions, you need to have numerosity, which just
- 2:20:18Speaker 16: means a lot of plaintiffs that are suffering the same harm.
- 2:20:20Speaker 2: But does it have to be a percentage of the
- 2:20:22Speaker 2: total for that? In other words, is there a threshold?
- 2:20:24Speaker 2: Let's say the neighborhood is one hundred homes. Do I
- 2:20:27Speaker 2: need sixty of those homes or twenty of those homes?
- 2:20:29Speaker 12: No?
- 2:20:29Speaker 2: You just need a no.
- 2:20:31Speaker 16: That's the problem. So, well, there's no bright line test
- 2:20:33Speaker 16: to what numerosity means. Right, It can mean five homes,
- 2:20:36Speaker 16: right right?
- 2:20:36Speaker 2: Right?
- 2:20:37Speaker 16: It just means that there has to be a significant
- 2:20:39Speaker 16: portion of people that are affected by the same issue,
- 2:20:42Speaker 16: who have the same damages. And you know, essentially what
- 2:20:46Speaker 16: it is. It's a consolidation for the court where we're
- 2:20:49Speaker 16: not gonna have ten trials with the exact same issue.
- 2:20:51Speaker 16: If each of those trials is wake long. Now we've
- 2:20:54Speaker 16: got one hundred weeks of trial, we'll.
- 2:20:55Speaker 2: Just get one number divided evenly by the rest of
- 2:20:57Speaker 2: our you.
- 2:20:58Speaker 16: Know, trial, and we'll split up the damage, right so
- 2:21:02Speaker 16: so so conceptually that's what we're looking for. Classic so
- 2:21:05Speaker 16: it does increase the exposure for for both sides. Right
- 2:21:10Speaker 16: on one side, on the platiff side, you've got to
- 2:21:13Speaker 16: you got more people, you've got advocate and represent and
- 2:21:15Speaker 16: got to make sure that they all have similar claims.
- 2:21:17Speaker 16: Otherwise the class could be broken. But on the defendi's side,
- 2:21:21Speaker 16: you could couldceptually walk away with a compound judgment that
- 2:21:25Speaker 16: is really going to hit your pocket book.
- 2:21:27Speaker 2: Right is it?
- 2:21:28Speaker 7: Is?
- 2:21:28Speaker 2: It? Is it worse to try to sue the government
- 2:21:32Speaker 2: In other words, I mean you said sovereign immunity so
- 2:21:33Speaker 2: that you can't sue them for anything, because I mean,
- 2:21:35Speaker 2: this is a community in necessity, road expansion bridge whatever
- 2:21:39Speaker 2: the case may be. And I think most people could
- 2:21:40Speaker 2: agree with that, and they would probably go through most
- 2:21:43Speaker 2: of these processes to make sure that's the case. But
- 2:21:46Speaker 2: do you think it's going to be a bigger hurle
- 2:21:48Speaker 2: since these guys are are kind of working on the
- 2:21:50Speaker 2: under the umbrella of Florida. I mean, really, they're just
- 2:21:52Speaker 2: a hired contractor. They're really not part of the state's
- 2:21:55Speaker 2: you know, employment program. They just got hired to do
- 2:21:57Speaker 2: a job.
- 2:21:58Speaker 16: Well, so I think some of the are always going
- 2:22:00Speaker 16: to depend on what's going to ultimately happen here, because
- 2:22:03Speaker 16: you know, on one hand, if they're doing everything they're
- 2:22:05Speaker 16: supposed to be doing and they're still dust, maybe there's
- 2:22:07Speaker 16: nothing they could do about it.
- 2:22:08Speaker 2: But I do think you can.
- 2:22:09Speaker 16: What makes this case unique and interesting is and she's
- 2:22:12Speaker 16: asked for a lot of things in her lawsuit. I
- 2:22:14Speaker 16: don't think she's gonna get all those.
- 2:22:15Speaker 4: Things, including them finding her a place to live.
- 2:22:17Speaker 16: Including them finding her a place to live, but I
- 2:22:19Speaker 16: do think, you know, she's gonna get some damages, which
- 2:22:24Speaker 16: will probably help with you know, whether it's temporary or
- 2:22:26Speaker 16: permanent relocation.
- 2:22:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be crazy though, because I mean, I
- 2:22:29Speaker 2: don't know how long this project's going on. But if
- 2:22:30Speaker 2: they have an idea of how long it's going to
- 2:22:32Speaker 2: take to get past her house, they could kind of
- 2:22:33Speaker 2: figure that out. And she's just one. I don't I
- 2:22:36Speaker 2: don't know. I was just thinking that.
- 2:22:38Speaker 4: I'm thinking everyone else in that mobile home park. Have
- 2:22:40Speaker 4: you seen any of the video?
- 2:22:41Speaker 16: I mean, I saw like the pictures of the house.
- 2:22:43Speaker 16: I didn't watch the video.
- 2:22:44Speaker 4: It's crazy how close the construction equipment. And they say
- 2:22:47Speaker 4: the lights on all night long. The dust, they say,
- 2:22:50Speaker 4: is sucking in. It's ruining you.
- 2:22:52Speaker 2: I mean, you're having to change your filters like every
- 2:22:54Speaker 2: day you add that in, you know.
- 2:22:56Speaker 16: And that's where you mentioned Aaron Brockovich and things like that.
- 2:22:59Speaker 16: I mean, I don't I think they would have already
- 2:23:01Speaker 16: done the air quality studies to say like, okay, this's
- 2:23:04Speaker 16: just toxic in the air. But there's we see a
- 2:23:07Speaker 16: lot of these particular cases coming out of like California
- 2:23:10Speaker 16: and states out west where they get all the air
- 2:23:12Speaker 16: blowing in from the west coast from the ocean and
- 2:23:16Speaker 16: blowing toxins into these small towns. Yeah, so we see
- 2:23:19Speaker 16: these cases across the country of the dust that gets
- 2:23:23Speaker 16: blown around and if it has those types of toxic
- 2:23:25Speaker 16: particulates and stuff in it. I mean, now you're talking
- 2:23:28Speaker 16: severe medical issues and know Aaron Brockovic level, you know, lawsuits.
- 2:23:33Speaker 2: Somebody just takes in and said, look, you can run
- 2:23:35Speaker 2: our water truck on a job site eight hours a day,
- 2:23:37Speaker 2: but when it's one hundred degrees outside, they make it.
- 2:23:40Speaker 2: The instant that water hits the ground, you're good for
- 2:23:42Speaker 2: about fifteen minutes. If well, then they starts spraying it
- 2:23:45Speaker 2: at night, and then it's gone and you're right back
- 2:23:47Speaker 2: at the situation you've had before. You know, and if
- 2:23:49Speaker 2: you get no help with rain, that's even worked.
- 2:23:51Speaker 16: Well, and that goes and that goes back to the
- 2:23:53Speaker 16: defense side of things of if we've been doing that
- 2:23:56Speaker 16: and it keeps evaporating, you know, they're taking all the
- 2:23:58Speaker 16: appropriate actions. But I have to think that, you know,
- 2:24:01Speaker 16: we haven't just started doing construction in the year twenty
- 2:24:04Speaker 16: twenty seven. We've been doing this for a little while.
- 2:24:06Speaker 16: We probably have a pretty good idea of how to
- 2:24:08Speaker 16: how to resolve some of these problems.
- 2:24:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I know that when they with you construction around
- 2:24:13Speaker 2: our place out there, they're putting up these these silt fences.
- 2:24:16Speaker 16: I've seen those that's a.
- 2:24:17Speaker 2: Part of that. It's just basically to catch runoff if
- 2:24:19Speaker 2: while the site is cleared and it's just dirt, if
- 2:24:22Speaker 2: it rains real bad, it's supposed to stop some of that.
- 2:24:24Speaker 2: I mean, is there no like a dust fence for
- 2:24:27Speaker 2: these guys. I mean, I know that seems almost implausible
- 2:24:29Speaker 2: considering how much and how big some of these sites
- 2:24:32Speaker 2: can get. But has that been considered. I mean, that
- 2:24:34Speaker 2: would be cheaper than paying somebody, you know, paying fifty people,
- 2:24:37Speaker 2: you know, fifty grand apiece.
- 2:24:39Speaker 16: Right to tarp over it or something when they're not
- 2:24:41Speaker 16: working on that side of the project.
- 2:24:43Speaker 2: There's got to be some solution out there. So yeah,
- 2:24:45Speaker 2: we'll see how that goes for sure. Great TEXTA wants
- 2:24:46Speaker 2: to know if you could explain what sovereign immunity means.
- 2:24:49Speaker 16: Oh yeah, that's a great question. So in the Florida Constitution,
- 2:24:53Speaker 16: there's a constitutional protection that says that citizens and individuals
- 2:24:58Speaker 16: in the state of Florida cannot sue the State of
- 2:25:00Speaker 16: Florida for certain acts, and then there's sovereign immunity caps
- 2:25:04Speaker 16: for certain things that you can sue them for. So
- 2:25:06Speaker 16: conceptually speaking, you can't sue the state while they are
- 2:25:11Speaker 16: in furtherance of actions that we expect the state to
- 2:25:14Speaker 16: So I'll use example of if a cop gets in
- 2:25:18Speaker 16: a car accident, but he was chasing somebody down, that
- 2:25:20Speaker 16: cop may be absolved of liability and responsibility because he's
- 2:25:24Speaker 16: following somebody in furtherance of his job, his duty, in
- 2:25:27Speaker 16: his duty right. And so but then there's there's statutory
- 2:25:31Speaker 16: cap So you go and you're on a boardwalk on
- 2:25:34Speaker 16: the beach and there's a hole on the boardwalk and
- 2:25:37Speaker 16: you fall through that hole, and they knew about it
- 2:25:38Speaker 16: and they should have fixed it, and they didn't fix it.
- 2:25:41Speaker 16: You can sue them up to a certain capped amount.
- 2:25:43Speaker 16: So it's just it's a limit of liability for the state.
- 2:25:46Speaker 2: And isn't the same kind of imminent domain kind of
- 2:25:50Speaker 2: thing where if a state feel if the state has
- 2:25:52Speaker 2: to like basically claim your home. And that's another kind
- 2:25:56Speaker 2: of weird thing in Flora. I mean, it's weird in
- 2:25:57Speaker 2: any state, but anytime you're you're home. My grandpa's house
- 2:26:00Speaker 2: got eminent domain because in Fort Lauderdale, it just happened
- 2:26:03Speaker 2: to be when they were expanding the freeway system. His
- 2:26:06Speaker 2: home was the exact place where three roads are going
- 2:26:09Speaker 2: to cross over and intersect. So imagine a big sp
- 2:26:12Speaker 2: get anything down in or on you know, I four
- 2:26:15Speaker 2: and orange and his house is right there. I mean
- 2:26:18Speaker 2: you got paid, okay, but you know they don't really.
- 2:26:20Speaker 2: They just have to pay fair market value and you
- 2:26:23Speaker 2: have no you have no recourse there either. Right, the
- 2:26:26Speaker 2: state can basically claim half the road outside your house
- 2:26:28Speaker 2: to build another road or expand that you just have
- 2:26:30Speaker 2: to deal with it.
- 2:26:31Speaker 16: Some of the one of the most interesting trials I've
- 2:26:33Speaker 16: ever seen. I've never done an mnent domain case, but
- 2:26:35Speaker 16: I saw an eminent domain trial. Fascinating. It's all experts
- 2:26:40Speaker 16: arguing over whether or not the taking was reasonable and necessary.
- 2:26:44Speaker 2: And then the price was reasonable and necessary, it.
- 2:26:46Speaker 16: Was reasonable and necessary and and so you can really
- 2:26:49Speaker 16: nerd out on some of those things. But those cases
- 2:26:51Speaker 16: are very unique, and you know, something like that, it's
- 2:26:54Speaker 16: it's a little bit more obvious and that it becomes
- 2:26:56Speaker 16: comes the government taking. But there are a lot of
- 2:26:58Speaker 16: the government taking cases are are a lot more nuanced.
- 2:27:01Speaker 20: You know.
- 2:27:01Speaker 16: It's like you know, they they are generating more you know,
- 2:27:07Speaker 16: toxic waste in this area, and so that they have
- 2:27:09Speaker 16: to take your property as like a as a part
- 2:27:11Speaker 16: of like a make a retention pund right, just like
- 2:27:15Speaker 16: this area so anyway and in domain is different, a
- 2:27:18Speaker 16: little bit different. But but conceptually speaking of state has
- 2:27:21Speaker 16: to pay you a reasonable value if they're taking your stuff.
- 2:27:24Speaker 5: If you are being forced to sell, it should be
- 2:27:28Speaker 5: more than reasonable value. It should be like twenty percent
- 2:27:31Speaker 5: more than.
- 2:27:32Speaker 16: I expec Yeah, because after the experts come in.
- 2:27:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because I mean it's not just you selling
- 2:27:37Speaker 2: your home, you're taking that. And especially now Mark, you're
- 2:27:40Speaker 2: likely you know, we buy and we buy these houses,
- 2:27:42Speaker 2: we build them up, and I sell them, right, That's
- 2:27:44Speaker 2: what We've been doing that for a few years. But
- 2:27:46Speaker 2: now we get to this one. We're like, well, if
- 2:27:47Speaker 2: we sell this house, we'll make a pretty good dime
- 2:27:49Speaker 2: on it. But where where am I going to go?
- 2:27:51Speaker 2: I mean, where where am I going to buy in Florida?
- 2:27:53Speaker 2: Because in the three or four or five years and
- 2:27:55Speaker 2: I would have the house property values in the state
- 2:27:58Speaker 2: of skyrocket. So now I don't have as much buying
- 2:28:00Speaker 2: power as I did when I was doing this, you know,
- 2:28:02Speaker 2: eight ten years ago. Now it's you know, now we
- 2:28:05Speaker 2: don't even know because everything's changed so much. I mean,
- 2:28:09Speaker 2: Placa's got some house. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, so
- 2:28:14Speaker 2: does Castlebury. Yeah. I think there's a Campbell's soup can.
- 2:28:17Speaker 2: That's yeah. Got some rent Oh yeah, I'm always good
- 2:28:20Speaker 2: toeing you about Heylis person the ray trailing. That's one
- 2:28:22Speaker 2: firm for life dot com tk Law is the firm
- 2:28:24Speaker 2: and of course offices in Longwood and now in the land.
- 2:28:28Speaker 2: He'll hang out with us to the end of the show. Debu,
- 2:28:30Speaker 2: you got some news force.
- 2:28:30Speaker 4: Yeah, we're gonna talk about cruise continuing to battle the
- 2:28:33Speaker 4: massive wildfires in Spokane. Congressman Byron Donald's proposes the Cape
- 2:28:38Speaker 4: Canaveral Act. And oh what the Zach Brown band gifted
- 2:28:42Speaker 4: all fans at a recent concert. We'll talk about that
- 2:28:45Speaker 4: next during you heard it here first?
- 2:28:46Speaker 2: All right, you guys got it. It's fun. That is
- 2:28:49Speaker 2: your six o'clock you word f you in, go to
- 2:28:51Speaker 2: real Radio dot FM and send it off for your
- 2:28:52Speaker 2: chance at one thousand bucks to take a little break.
- 2:28:54Speaker 2: We'll come back and get Deb's news and get the
- 2:28:55Speaker 2: hell out of here on a Monday.
- 2:28:58Speaker 25: Hell ohonnah, real quick. If I get cancel one more,
- 2:29:02Speaker 25: I cannot preach watermelon enough. I mean, that's really one
- 2:29:05Speaker 25: of the only things I eat during the day in
- 2:29:09Speaker 25: the heat, hot airplane hangars.
- 2:29:11Speaker 9: But it is all that and more.
- 2:29:13Speaker 25: And Jimmy, I do put him in the fridge as
- 2:29:15Speaker 25: soon as I get him. I've been successful keeping watermelon
- 2:29:18Speaker 25: well over a week. Crisp, been good. I just change
- 2:29:21Speaker 25: the saran wrap every time I cut a slice off,
- 2:29:24Speaker 25: and everybody eat more watermelon.
- 2:29:26Speaker 9: Aloha.
- 2:29:29Speaker 2: Quick question for Ray. My neighbor is a seismologist.
- 2:29:32Speaker 20: I live in one of these communities with zero lot lines,
- 2:29:35Speaker 20: so he's right next to me anyway. He says to me, Oh,
- 2:29:39Speaker 20: your bedroom's a bloody epicenter of love, Isn't it set
- 2:29:43Speaker 20: off my seismograph right off the Richter scale, he said.
- 2:29:47Speaker 20: Can I sue this bastard for eavesdropping on my sexual vibrations?
- 2:29:52Speaker 20: It seems like an invasion of privacy.
- 2:29:54Speaker 2: Privacy, keep on rocking. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Austin Power's banking
- 2:30:01Speaker 2: it up.
- 2:30:01Speaker 22: I like that.
- 2:30:01Speaker 2: All right. Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. I'm Jim.
- 2:30:03Speaker 2: There's deb hello. Jack is here as well. Yeah, and
- 2:30:06Speaker 2: so it's a controversy, buddy, Ray, Trent leeway things out
- 2:30:10Speaker 2: for this last segment. Remember, if you have any issue,
- 2:30:12Speaker 2: I mean, if you've a trip and fall issue, if
- 2:30:15Speaker 2: you have some estate planning, if you are going through
- 2:30:17Speaker 2: a divorce, you need advice on I just actually called
- 2:30:20Speaker 2: Ray because a friend of mine is going through a
- 2:30:22Speaker 2: really weird situation where her mom was married to a guy.
- 2:30:26Speaker 2: They got divorced when she was young, but they've remained
- 2:30:29Speaker 2: very good friends. A matter of fact, she calls this
- 2:30:31Speaker 2: person her dad. His health is not the best right
- 2:30:34Speaker 2: now and there is no protection for her, even though
- 2:30:38Speaker 2: we know for a fact this gentleman wants to make
- 2:30:41Speaker 2: sure that she and her family are taking care of
- 2:30:43Speaker 2: her two kids that he's known since their birth. But
- 2:30:46Speaker 2: because they're not related anymore, there's no help. And if
- 2:30:50Speaker 2: he's not able to grant that, there is nothing she
- 2:30:54Speaker 2: can do. So I reached out to Ray for a
- 2:30:56Speaker 2: scenario like that. So these are the kind of questions
- 2:30:58Speaker 2: he answers quite well all the time.
- 2:31:00Speaker 9: We're here to help.
- 2:31:01Speaker 2: Yeah, here to help for sure. Again, that's firms right
- 2:31:03Speaker 2: there in Longwood and in the land as well. Dev
- 2:31:06Speaker 2: Let's do you heard it here first?
- 2:31:09Speaker 9: Good time for you heard it here first? On the
- 2:31:12Speaker 9: Jim Colbert Show.
- 2:31:13Speaker 4: He Heard it Here First is brought to you by

- 2:31:18Speaker 4: c the lineup and grab your tickets at OSC dot org.
- 2:31:21Speaker 4: Just remember arrive early. The shows are felling up quickly,
- 2:31:24Speaker 4: all right. Almost sixty five thousand people have been evacuated
- 2:31:29Speaker 4: in Washington State due to those massive wildfires. Over seven
- 2:31:32Speaker 4: hundred structures have been destroyed in this Spokane area, while
- 2:31:36Speaker 4: the fires have torched over eight thousand acres with zero
- 2:31:39Speaker 4: containment at last check. Commissioner of Public Lands David up
- 2:31:43Speaker 4: the Grove said, there's a ton of work ahead as.
- 2:31:47Speaker 9: We start to grasp the.
- 2:31:50Speaker 22: The overwhelming amount of damage that has been done in
- 2:31:53Speaker 22: this community and try to turn the corner and help
- 2:31:58Speaker 22: you recover.
- 2:31:59Speaker 2: It's going to take a lot of effort.
- 2:32:01Speaker 4: The only good news is that no deaths or injuries
- 2:32:04Speaker 4: have been reported so far. Today firefighters dealt with a
- 2:32:07Speaker 4: little bit better conditions, including light winds, but temperatures expected
- 2:32:11Speaker 4: to rise into the nineties again by midweek, something you
- 2:32:14Speaker 4: just don't expect to hear with the Pacific Northwest.
- 2:32:17Speaker 2: I'm just glad my kids aren't flying there. I just said,
- 2:32:20Speaker 2: one of my daughters is not flying there literally Thursday. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 2:32:24Speaker 2: her boyfriend's entire family is a meeting up there. They're

- 2:32:31Speaker 2: week break or breaker. We have a stage five star cars. Yeah,
- 2:32:34Speaker 2: I know, I'm serious. Is that that's true? As it gets?
- 2:32:36Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 2:32:37Speaker 2: Yeah, Stage five s Florida.
- 2:32:38Speaker 16: I think you just come hanging out.
- 2:32:39Speaker 9: Yeah right.
- 2:32:41Speaker 4: Congressman Byron Donalds and Senator Ashley Moody are introducing legislation
- 2:32:45Speaker 4: to move NASA headquarters from Washington, d C.
- 2:32:48Speaker 2: To Florida's space coast.
- 2:32:49Speaker 4: They're proposed Cape Canaveral Act would relocate the agency's headquarters
- 2:32:53Speaker 4: to Brevard County. The lawmakers cite the region's launch sites
- 2:32:57Speaker 4: and established aerospace industry. It makes sense. NASA's current lease
- 2:33:01Speaker 4: in Washington expires in twenty twenty eight.
- 2:33:04Speaker 2: Wow, that'd be cool.
- 2:33:05Speaker 4: That would be very cool.
- 2:33:06Speaker 2: Don't beer on Friday night? A paraeans a fit just right?
- 2:33:12Speaker 2: And the radio he was Zach Brown fan. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:33:16Speaker 2: I mean you know, I mean Lake music. Wow, it's
- 2:33:20Speaker 2: Marvecue Museum, barbecue music, Applebe's commercial.
- 2:33:24Speaker 4: Well, fans at Zach Brown Band's Boston concert over the week,
- 2:33:28Speaker 4: and we'll be going on free vacations thanks to the
- 2:33:31Speaker 4: band all thirty seven thousand people in attendance at Sunday's
- 2:33:35Speaker 4: Fenway Park Show. We're gifted a free cruise no way,
- 2:33:39Speaker 4: by Zach Brown himself. The trips for two aboard the
- 2:33:41Speaker 4: Margaritaville at Sea are valued at nearly how much money
- 2:33:45Speaker 4: in total?
- 2:33:46Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, thirty.
- 2:33:48Speaker 4: Seven thousand free cruises for.
- 2:33:51Speaker 16: Two million dollars.
- 2:33:52Speaker 2: Oh, it's got to be It's gotta be way more
- 2:33:54Speaker 2: than that, right, This cruise is probably four hundred dollars
- 2:33:56Speaker 2: a piece?
- 2:33:56Speaker 4: Is that a million?
- 2:33:57Speaker 16: I said? One point two?
- 2:33:58Speaker 4: One point two?
- 2:33:59Speaker 2: I'm going to I'm gonna go twenty two million, Jack
- 2:34:04Speaker 2: five ross seven?
- 2:34:07Speaker 4: How about forty million dollars in total?
- 2:34:10Speaker 2: Thirty six thousand people. Yeah, guys, thirty six thousand people,
- 2:34:13Speaker 2: probably for an average cost of like foreigner bucks Well.
- 2:34:16Speaker 4: Brown said he didn't giveaway to thank his fans for
- 2:34:18Speaker 4: selling out fifteen consecutive concerts at the iconic ballpark. That
- 2:34:22Speaker 4: is a Fenway Park record. Wow, and you heard it
- 2:34:26Speaker 4: here first on the Jim Colbert Show.
- 2:34:27Speaker 5: I had no idea was that popular. Oh yeah, what
- 2:34:31Speaker 5: the Jack Brown man? Oh really, that they'd sell out
- 2:34:35Speaker 5: Fenway fifteen times?
- 2:34:36Speaker 2: Oh no, dude, he's like, mega mega mega mega popular.
- 2:34:39Speaker 2: Well that's where we all know country's your thing. No
- 2:34:42Speaker 2: it's not, but I know that.
- 2:34:44Speaker 3: And that's kind of the world that we live in.
- 2:34:45Speaker 3: Because if it's not in your algorithm, yeah you're right.
- 2:34:48Speaker 2: If it's not, it's not right.
- 2:34:49Speaker 16: But it also doesn't seem like the place where they'd
- 2:34:51Speaker 16: sell out fifteen times in a row. That's the surprising
- 2:34:55Speaker 16: part about that.
- 2:34:56Speaker 2: That's wild.
- 2:34:56Speaker 3: Like also for music, anything other than baseball. I don't
- 2:35:00Speaker 3: understand why it would be used as a venue.
- 2:35:02Speaker 9: But that's me.
- 2:35:03Speaker 3: I've seen comedy shows at Fenway. I've heard about that.
- 2:35:06Speaker 3: I just don't that's a lot of that space.
- 2:35:08Speaker 5: To say you did it at Fenway or yeah you
- 2:35:11Speaker 5: sayd those iconic venues to be able to say it's there.
- 2:35:15Speaker 2: It's true, But don't forget about the audience experience. All right,
