Speaker 1: It's welcome everybody. Welcome to this week's edition The Story
0:20
Speaker 1: of the Show, episode number seven and fifty nine for
0:23
Speaker 1: August twenty ninth, twenty twenty four. This is your aw
0:26
Speaker 1: all in recap and review in we Fashion Berlin and
0:30
Speaker 1: nixten O Mercy Preview and Predictions edition of as R T.
0:35
Speaker 1: If you I am one half the show, I am
0:38
Speaker 1: Jeff Peck joined every single week from the post only
0:41
Speaker 1: doct Trey Franklin, Doctor Trey. We have four pay per
0:44
Speaker 1: view slash ples in the next two three weeks. My friend.
0:49
Speaker 2: Yeah, but wrestling is uh, you know, vibrant, and we're
0:52
Speaker 2: not an overkill yet. No, it's actually a good time.
0:54
Speaker 2: Like it's it's fun, it's exciting. All the shows are
0:58
Speaker 2: are are hitting on all centers. So it's not like
1:01
Speaker 2: we're dreading any of these at least, so I'm on
1:05
Speaker 2: board for it. Like I'm dude, I'm watching wrestling in
1:07
Speaker 2: my car while I'm driving to physical therapy. I mean,
1:10
Speaker 2: these are these are good times for us.
1:12
Speaker 1: Yeah, are you are you feeling like it's a chore
1:14
Speaker 1: or are you enjoying what you're seeing while you're watching it?
1:17
Speaker 2: I Mean it's sometimes it's you know, you have a
1:19
Speaker 2: very busy schedule. We both have kids now, lifestyles, all
1:23
Speaker 2: that stuff. It can be a little challenging to fit
1:26
Speaker 2: everything in. As as Sammy fans uh he's homesick from
1:34
Speaker 2: school today. Everybody, So once again the joys, the joys
1:37
Speaker 2: of the fatherhood. But it's since the shows are enjoyable,
1:42
Speaker 2: it's not really a chore. The chore is finding windows
1:47
Speaker 2: of time to fit everything in.
1:50
Speaker 1: Oh, I could totally speak to that. I as Doctor Trey,
1:55
Speaker 1: and anybody who has had a baby can attest to.
1:58
Speaker 1: So I'm I was behind on like everything this entire
2:02
Speaker 1: week because I did not watch All In Live on
2:06
Speaker 1: Sunday because my son is being baptized. So then I'm
2:10
Speaker 1: watching all In on Monday, I'm watching Raw NXT. When
2:14
Speaker 1: you have a baby, the baby likes to wake up
2:16
Speaker 1: two three times in the middle of the night, get
2:18
Speaker 1: fed all that good stuff. You're up for probably like
2:20
Speaker 1: forty five minutes to an hour each time. Spoiler for
2:23
Speaker 1: anybody who was wondering about becoming a parent. And I've
2:26
Speaker 1: spent that time Doctor Trey watching NXT Overnight, Raw Overnight,
2:31
Speaker 1: aw Dynamite Overnight. I actually watched like the finish of
2:35
Speaker 1: Dynamite at like two am Thursday morning, because my son
2:42
Speaker 1: went to sleep about ten o'clock on Wednesday night and
2:46
Speaker 1: I was about, maybe, like god, three quarters of the
2:49
Speaker 1: way through aw Dynamite, and right at ten o'clock he
2:53
Speaker 1: goes to sleep. I'm like, listen, I can't even push this.
2:55
Speaker 1: I'm going to go to sleep. I will pick this
2:57
Speaker 1: back up in a couple hours. That's what I did.
3:00
Speaker 1: And yeah, I mean, my television viewing right now is
3:04
Speaker 1: completely all over the place, all different types of hours
3:07
Speaker 1: and of the day and night, but it's been good.
3:12
Speaker 1: I'm like watching it at two am, and I'm like, man,
3:15
Speaker 1: this has been a really good episode of aw Dynamite.
3:18
Speaker 1: Probably not the time I want to watch wrestling programming,
3:22
Speaker 1: but I'm still finding ways to squeeze it all in there,
3:25
Speaker 1: and it's it's definitely a lot, certainly, but it's been
3:29
Speaker 1: enjoyable as a wrestling fanast of late.
3:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, right now, my schedule most days is
3:36
Speaker 2: get a take Little Manda school and then I drive
3:39
Speaker 2: straight to physical therapy. So I have about a thirty
3:41
Speaker 2: thirty five minute driving to physical therapy. So as I'm
3:44
Speaker 2: going there, all pros you know one of the shows
3:47
Speaker 2: on or the like I did the same thing I watched.
3:49
Speaker 2: I could watch all in live because we were car
3:52
Speaker 2: shopping and I have a great car shopping story if
3:55
Speaker 2: anybody's interested in this at some point, but SO couldn't
4:00
Speaker 2: watch it live. I'm catching up here and there, so
4:03
Speaker 2: watching all the way of physical therapy. I watch it
4:05
Speaker 2: on the way home from physical therapy, try to get
4:08
Speaker 2: some stuff in around the house while I have some
4:09
Speaker 2: time off. And then when I go pick up little
4:12
Speaker 2: man from school, where I'm watching on the way there
4:14
Speaker 2: to pick him up, we'll watch it a little bit
4:16
Speaker 2: on the way back from school. He'll he'll hear wrestling
4:19
Speaker 2: and he knows if I'm watching wrestling, it's it's ww Superstars,
4:24
Speaker 2: and he yells it out, you know, just like that,
4:27
Speaker 2: tell me be nice. But yeah, like it's trying to
4:30
Speaker 2: fit it all in is tough. And for you, you
4:35
Speaker 2: got Yankee season going on. They're wrapping up the regular season,
4:39
Speaker 2: preseason football just kicked off or is now finishing up.
4:42
Speaker 2: And now we just had all that. So you got
4:43
Speaker 2: fit packers, Yankees, wrestling, baby, and keep your wife to
4:48
Speaker 2: where she doesn't want to leave you with all those
4:50
Speaker 2: things going on. I have the same thing, even though
4:52
Speaker 2: my cups suck, but the you know, the Niners are
4:55
Speaker 2: getting ready kick off Super Bowl contenders, wrestling kids the family.
4:59
Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's crazy, but at least the wrestling
5:02
Speaker 2: is enjoyable, which there's been times in our in our
5:05
Speaker 2: lives where the chore was actually watching. Now the choor
5:09
Speaker 2: is just finding those windows.
5:11
Speaker 1: Yeah, that is one hundred percent trying to find those
5:15
Speaker 1: windows is uh, is something. It is certainly interesting, but
5:21
Speaker 1: at least the wrestling is good where you can get
5:24
Speaker 1: excited for it. And and I don't know what my
5:27
Speaker 1: Saturday plans are quite yet, being Labor Day weekend, but
5:31
Speaker 1: part of me stoked that I can put the one
5:33
Speaker 1: o'clock Bashing Berlin on my television and potentially watch that
5:37
Speaker 1: for a couple hours unless I sneak out go do
5:40
Speaker 1: some stuff, then carry it on on Saturday night. But again,
5:43
Speaker 1: it's it's been a really good time for professional wrestling,
5:46
Speaker 1: and it's uh. There's certainly times where it feels like
5:49
Speaker 1: a chore, especially trying to get to the podcast each week,
5:51
Speaker 1: but as of late, the programming has been good and
5:53
Speaker 1: that's a good thing. That is a really good thing.
5:56
Speaker 1: Uh let's get into aw all in well, let's recap
5:58
Speaker 1: interview at Doctor Trey this past from Wembley Sadim in London, England.
6:02
Speaker 1: We have three pre show matches that we're gonna get to. Here.
6:04
Speaker 1: You have Tommy Billington, Kip Sabian, Rocky Romero, Kyle Fletcher,
6:07
Speaker 1: Leo Rush, Action Andretti in Type top Flight defeating Jay Lethal,
6:12
Speaker 1: Santom Singh, Santem Singh, Anthony Gogo, Aria Davari Private Party
6:16
Speaker 1: in the Dark Order in a sixteen man tag team match.
6:19
Speaker 1: We did not predict this one. It was a nice
6:21
Speaker 1: pre show match for a concept that is typically a
6:23
Speaker 1: clusterfuck when you do a sixteen man match. I was
6:26
Speaker 1: surprised the England born wrestlers Danny get dependence one with
6:29
Speaker 1: while Darius Martin did. You had Kip Sabean, Tommy Billington
6:33
Speaker 1: on one side and Darius Martin gets a pin. Any
6:36
Speaker 1: thoughts on the pre show match here.
6:38
Speaker 2: Those guys are very athletics. It's a little I mean
6:43
Speaker 2: it was for a sixteen person tag match. It wasn't bad,
6:48
Speaker 2: but it's one of these words like okay, we got
6:50
Speaker 2: sixteen guys, they all have to get two to three
6:52
Speaker 2: moves in this match. They can all look pretty good
6:54
Speaker 2: and then we finish it up somehow. But yeah, it
6:58
Speaker 2: is weird that, like just on paper, you would say, hey,
7:02
Speaker 2: we either need to get Kip or Tommy the victory
7:04
Speaker 2: in this and we go with the guy who dresses
7:07
Speaker 2: like an airline pilot right now, so we'll go with
7:09
Speaker 2: that route.
7:10
Speaker 1: Uh well, this was their way of getting everybody on
7:13
Speaker 1: the card with a sixteen man tag team match for
7:15
Speaker 1: the most part. Next match here is Willow Nightingale and
7:18
Speaker 1: Tomaharag defeating Chris stat Land and Sokle Hathaway in a
7:21
Speaker 1: mixed tag team match. And now will Knightingale will choose
7:23
Speaker 1: the stipulation the match with Chris stat Leonard and aw
7:25
Speaker 1: all Out, which was announced on Dynamite last night. It
7:28
Speaker 1: will be a Chicago street fight, and I'm under the
7:30
Speaker 1: impression that the CML Women's World Championship is not on
7:33
Speaker 1: the line in this match. It was previously previously announced
7:36
Speaker 1: that it was a Nightingale cut like a promo in
7:39
Speaker 1: Dynamite saying that CML won't sanction the match, which was
7:43
Speaker 1: kind of strange, but a way to creatively tie it
7:45
Speaker 1: all up with that sel that said the match result
7:48
Speaker 1: was exactly what was expected. I still find astray as
7:50
Speaker 1: at Statlander would have chosen Sokley as her partner. That
7:53
Speaker 1: didn't seem to be well thought out. Doctor Trey any
7:56
Speaker 1: thoughts on this one?
7:57
Speaker 2: Well, I mean, it's usually when these things happen, and
8:00
Speaker 2: that's just because I've been in these matches before where
8:03
Speaker 2: I was in it. You know, I've been in a
8:04
Speaker 2: couple of tag matches because I'm the manager. Usually it's
8:07
Speaker 2: either usually the bad guys are winning these matches. It's
8:10
Speaker 2: just weird that they didn't go this route and then
8:14
Speaker 2: then to lead into a Chicago street fight like you could.
8:17
Speaker 2: They could alter said I want a Chicago street fight,
8:19
Speaker 2: but CMLL won't let me do it because Chicago's not
8:23
Speaker 2: in Mexico, and they could side up that way too.
8:27
Speaker 2: So it's just I feel bad in this match. I
8:31
Speaker 2: feel bad for tomorrow Ishi because he's involved in a
8:34
Speaker 2: match with Stokely Hathaway. So it's just it's just like,
8:37
Speaker 2: all right, that once again a way for tomorrow Ishi
8:39
Speaker 2: to be on the card.
8:41
Speaker 1: Next match here is the Von Erics, Sam mcavara and
8:44
Speaker 1: Dustin Roots, a feeding undisputed Kingdom in Cage of Agony
8:46
Speaker 1: and a ten man tag team match. We did not
8:49
Speaker 1: produce this match. Uh, This one broke down into a
8:51
Speaker 1: tornado match pretty quickly and was a spot fast. Nonetheless,
8:55
Speaker 1: this was an entertaining match and an underrated feud and
8:57
Speaker 1: build taking place on Collision in the last several weeks.
8:59
Speaker 1: It was nice to see Kevin von Erics get a
9:01
Speaker 1: nice spot in moments to slap on the claw post match.
9:03
Speaker 1: Any thoughts on this one, Doctor Trey.
9:06
Speaker 2: It's good to see von ericskin some screen time. I've
9:09
Speaker 2: been waiting for them to come on to scene more
9:12
Speaker 2: and more over the last couple of years. Kevin von
9:16
Speaker 2: eric might be one of the last links to my
9:18
Speaker 2: wrestling childhood that's left, so it's good to see him
9:21
Speaker 2: out there. And this Dustin and Sammy perring is interesting.
9:26
Speaker 2: I'm waiting to see how far of a run this
9:28
Speaker 2: goes before Sammy turns on him again, I guess or something.
9:31
Speaker 2: Who knows.
9:32
Speaker 1: Yeah, And the Sammy Cavar, I mean, he was booed.
9:37
Speaker 1: It seems like people have a tough time with Samy
9:40
Speaker 1: Cavar and I at times. I can't blame them. There's
9:43
Speaker 1: in times he's been one of the most over wrestlers
9:46
Speaker 1: in the company and on the rise and very popular,
9:49
Speaker 1: and then something happens and he's not and sometimes he
9:52
Speaker 1: gets in his own way. But yeah, he is back
9:55
Speaker 1: on the grind in AW and it seems like Doctor
9:58
Speaker 1: Trey just got hitting potentially.
10:00
Speaker 2: Yeah. No, he's mad because the cat came up to
10:03
Speaker 2: pet me and I shoot her away. Now he's telling
10:05
Speaker 2: me to be nice as the cat fair enough.
10:07
Speaker 1: I mean, that is the right thing that young Sammy
10:08
Speaker 1: Franklin is telling you. Getting to the main car. Now,
10:11
Speaker 1: you had Pac Claudia Casinolian Wheeler. You to defeating the Patriarchy,
10:15
Speaker 1: Bang Bang Gang and House of Black and a four
10:18
Speaker 1: way London Ladders match to win the AW World Trios Championship.
10:21
Speaker 1: I had the Patriarchy, Patriarchy, Doctor treyhead the Bang Bang Gang.
10:26
Speaker 1: I wish we had a couple more weeks to see
10:28
Speaker 1: why Pac, Claudio and Udi were all paired together rather
10:30
Speaker 1: than twenty four hours of an impromptu pairing that ends
10:33
Speaker 1: up winning the AW World Trios Championship. I guess that
10:36
Speaker 1: had to do with the Lucha Brothers possibly being on
10:38
Speaker 1: their way out of aw's death triangle. Was set to
10:40
Speaker 1: win this match originally a quarding reports. The finish was
10:43
Speaker 1: anti climatic and lacked a memorable moment that you tend
10:45
Speaker 1: to see in these types of matches. I feel like
10:48
Speaker 1: commentary missed a real good moment where kill Switch threw
10:51
Speaker 1: his arms in the air and stormed off post match
10:53
Speaker 1: when Christian was yelling at him, something that comes back
10:56
Speaker 1: later on in the card for a really good bill.
10:58
Speaker 1: The SAMs the fourth team being entered on collision. This
11:01
Speaker 1: was kind of a letdown for me, Doctor Trey. Your
11:03
Speaker 1: thoughts as Claudia Castinoli and Wheeler Yuda have won the
11:07
Speaker 1: aw World Trios Championship, Yeah.
11:09
Speaker 2: I really, I really didn't like this match all that much,
11:12
Speaker 2: just because it just kind of felt like a The
11:15
Speaker 2: story was kind of between the Patriarchy and House of Black,
11:19
Speaker 2: and then you know, the other teams get added in,
11:21
Speaker 2: so there's no real build there. PwC teaming with Claudia
11:25
Speaker 2: Wheeler never really made sense, and then it made even
11:28
Speaker 2: less sense when I saw what happened on Dynamite. It
11:32
Speaker 2: just and then to have POC win in Wembley, which
11:35
Speaker 2: is great, but the finish was kind of anti Like
11:38
Speaker 2: you said, anti Clomatic. There wasn't really any juice to
11:42
Speaker 2: it or anything like that, so it just it felt flat.
11:45
Speaker 2: Like the whole match itself, for being all those tag
11:48
Speaker 2: teams in there that are fantastic, just kind of felt
11:51
Speaker 2: like it was a spotfest. That's all it really was
11:54
Speaker 2: to me.
11:55
Speaker 1: And then later on the show before we like give
11:57
Speaker 1: away the result of the main event match. I did
11:59
Speaker 1: find it weird that Pac was celebrating with Claudio and
12:02
Speaker 1: Wheeler at the end of the show, which we'll get
12:04
Speaker 1: to again that match in just a little bit here,
12:07
Speaker 1: which was like, okay, so we see part of Blackpool
12:09
Speaker 1: Combat Club. Mox returns on Wednesday. It appears he is
12:13
Speaker 1: not part of the Blackpool Combat Club. I would like
12:16
Speaker 1: to see moving forward here Rampage Collision or the following
12:20
Speaker 1: week's Dynamite some sort of creative tie up as to
12:23
Speaker 1: why Pac is celebrating with the Blackpool Combat Club and
12:26
Speaker 1: why Mox is potentially no longer part of the Blackpool
12:29
Speaker 1: Combat Club. So those are two things coming out of
12:32
Speaker 1: this match, Doctor Trey that kind of stem off that
12:34
Speaker 1: I help aw dresses here in the next week or so.
12:38
Speaker 2: Well, Yeah, the whole Mox thing was just weird.
12:42
Speaker 1: There's my dog.
12:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, you got Sammy, all right, I got you got
12:45
Speaker 2: the dogs? I got Sammy. Yeah, I got Sammy high
12:47
Speaker 2: fiving a cat right now. But yeah, the mox thing's weird.
12:51
Speaker 2: And then Poc Wheeler and you that's cool, But then
12:55
Speaker 2: Pac attacks will Osprey, who's a babyface?
12:59
Speaker 1: Well they are such a race each other at all out,
13:01
Speaker 1: but it's.
13:02
Speaker 2: Still of attacking a babyface, which, by the way, that
13:06
Speaker 2: was one of the best. I have never seen a
13:08
Speaker 2: poisoned rauna like that on the ramp, which I give
13:11
Speaker 2: that a ton of credit to. But it's just once again,
13:14
Speaker 2: this is kind of the things where's like, I don't
13:16
Speaker 2: know should I be cheering for a puck or booing puc?
13:19
Speaker 2: Should am I? Who? Who am I? Who am I with?
13:23
Speaker 2: I don't know who to cheer for in a lot
13:25
Speaker 2: of these situations, and that's why aw times like the
13:28
Speaker 2: show's been better, But then they do like confusing things.
13:31
Speaker 1: Like this, Yeah, that that needs to be tied up
13:33
Speaker 1: here in the next week. Those two specific items, what
13:36
Speaker 1: is POC's status, what is Max's status, And then we
13:38
Speaker 1: can get a better idea of what exactly is going
13:42
Speaker 1: on when it comes to the Blackpool Combat Club. Next
13:46
Speaker 1: match year is the Glamor and Rima defeating Time with
13:48
Speaker 1: Stoney Storm to win the AW Women's World Championship. We
13:50
Speaker 1: both had the Glamor and ri Ima. This was a
13:52
Speaker 1: really good match. It made so much sense to put
13:54
Speaker 1: the title on Ria May and help elevate her at
13:56
Speaker 1: the conclusion of this chapter of their feud. My only
13:58
Speaker 1: complaint was I wish the emphasize Maria Mariah's mom at
14:03
Speaker 1: ringside heading into this match, so the slap made sense
14:05
Speaker 1: and there was a reason behind it. Nonetheless, this was
14:08
Speaker 1: an exceptional match that told the great story in time
14:10
Speaker 1: with Tony Storm's now former Rain was, in my opinion,
14:13
Speaker 1: Doctor Dre the best women's title reign AW history at
14:16
Speaker 1: this point your thoughts as the claimer, Riah May is
14:19
Speaker 1: now the new AW Women's World Champion, So I'm with you.
14:23
Speaker 2: Like, I really, I really enjoyed the match. I thought
14:25
Speaker 2: it was great storytelling. I thought like it was produced well.
14:29
Speaker 2: The only like my issue, I was just like you, like, Okay,
14:32
Speaker 2: there's her mom at ringside and then she slaps her mom,
14:35
Speaker 2: but why and then Tony hugs her, like does Tony
14:37
Speaker 2: even know Mariah May's mom? Like that's just kind of
14:41
Speaker 2: weird if they don't know each other. Uh, but yeah,
14:44
Speaker 2: it was just that was my only, like my only
14:46
Speaker 2: grievous with the match. I mean, outside of that, like this,
14:49
Speaker 2: like watching this match was kind of made up for
14:51
Speaker 2: the first one because I really loved this match, and
14:55
Speaker 2: I mean it pulled all the different parts from all
14:58
Speaker 2: the different from this entire time into one match, so
15:01
Speaker 2: it was great storytelling.
15:03
Speaker 1: Next vecture is Hook defeating Chris Jericho and a last
15:05
Speaker 1: chance match to win the FDW Championship. We both had
15:08
Speaker 1: Hook in this one. The odds that were stacked against
15:11
Speaker 1: Hook in this match was almost a little too much
15:13
Speaker 1: that it wasn't believable. I get trying to get Hook
15:15
Speaker 1: over by defeating Chris Jericho, but almost crossed the line
15:18
Speaker 1: where it became too ridiculous with all the odds he
15:20
Speaker 1: was facing with having to take care of Big Bill
15:23
Speaker 1: and Brian Keith as well. I have no idea where
15:27
Speaker 1: Shabata was he was on the pre show. Why he
15:30
Speaker 1: didn't come help Hook out in this one after doing
15:32
Speaker 1: it for the last several weeks and not even getting
15:35
Speaker 1: some ojo selling. You know, I understand getting some ojo
15:38
Speaker 1: selling his injury due to I believe he's like filming
15:41
Speaker 1: something right now. The was it Gears of War or
15:45
Speaker 1: something that was on Peacock? Was that show he was
15:47
Speaker 1: on for a video game? Oh my gosh, Twisted Metal,
15:52
Speaker 1: Twisted Metal. I think he's doing that right now, But
15:54
Speaker 1: it still would have been great to have him make
15:56
Speaker 1: an appearance in that one. I did pop for Task
15:58
Speaker 1: slapping on the Task mission on Brian Keith and the
16:00
Speaker 1: tribute to Taz in the beginning Hook's entrance. This comes
16:03
Speaker 1: to it from a guy who was a big Hook
16:04
Speaker 1: fan when he was growing up. Nonetheless, it was like, Man,
16:07
Speaker 1: these odds are are too ridiculous. At this point, as
16:11
Speaker 1: Hook retains or regains the FCW Championship, Doctor Trey, I like.
16:17
Speaker 2: And you heard on the commentary Jericho coming out in
16:19
Speaker 2: all orange. I thought that was a little like tribute
16:22
Speaker 2: to Taz as well, even though I don't even know.
16:24
Speaker 2: I don't know if those guys are actually friends or not,
16:26
Speaker 2: but I thought it was kind of cool that Jericho
16:28
Speaker 2: wearing all the orange of your mock Taz as well.
16:30
Speaker 2: I thought that was cool. The match itself was just
16:33
Speaker 2: kind of eh, and and maybe it's a little bit
16:36
Speaker 2: Jericho's a little bit passes prime and he's resting a
16:39
Speaker 2: guy who's literally half his age. But the matches that
16:43
Speaker 2: was eh. But yeah, it's just to have it set
16:47
Speaker 2: up like that, just like it's Hook against everybody and
16:51
Speaker 2: he's only one hundred and eighty five pounds. Like it's
16:54
Speaker 2: just stuff like That's what drives me nuts on how
16:57
Speaker 2: they book him At times. I will say, is Big
17:01
Speaker 2: Bill that over in the UK? It felt like every
17:04
Speaker 2: time he did something the crowd was popping for him.
17:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what the whole thing was there.
17:09
Speaker 1: They kind of insinuated on Collision. It was because it
17:13
Speaker 1: was like Big Ben and Big Bill, but they loved him.
17:15
Speaker 1: On Collision he got like a massive pop. He got
17:19
Speaker 1: a massive pop Wembley as well. They carried itself over.
17:23
Speaker 1: I wish that was kind of alluded to or explained
17:26
Speaker 1: a little bit more, But yeah, I don't know, doctor Schreimine.
17:30
Speaker 1: Jericho did these things for six months. He kind of
17:32
Speaker 1: did an out of a character tweet on Sunday night
17:36
Speaker 1: saying like, you know, thanks to Hook for the last
17:39
Speaker 1: six months and all that stuff. Did this elevate Hook
17:43
Speaker 1: in your opinion?
17:46
Speaker 2: Not really to me? I mean it elevated him the
17:49
Speaker 2: same way I guess Jericho elevated Orange Cassidy. Like it's
17:53
Speaker 2: a good little rub. But then it kind of depends
17:55
Speaker 2: on how you book him at coming out of it.
17:58
Speaker 2: If you do something, capitalize on it, yeah, If not,
18:01
Speaker 2: then it's just he's got a nice little win over Jericho.
18:05
Speaker 2: But if he goes back to feuding with you know,
18:07
Speaker 2: Kip Sabian or somebody in the mid card, it doesn't
18:10
Speaker 2: do a whole lot for you at that point.
18:12
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's all strange and the FTW title still being around.
18:15
Speaker 1: There was some discussion about that on the post show
18:18
Speaker 1: media scrum. Basically, I think a media member referred to
18:22
Speaker 1: as like a joke title. Then Taz addressed it on
18:26
Speaker 1: X and then also said there's discussions about the future
18:29
Speaker 1: of the championship. It's it's like, all right, I think
18:31
Speaker 1: the FTW title's probably been around on AW television like
18:35
Speaker 1: one too many years at this point. So well to
18:38
Speaker 1: see if that kind of fades away or it gets
18:40
Speaker 1: retired here soon, because I think that would be a
18:42
Speaker 1: benefit to hook. I would also get rid of the
18:45
Speaker 1: bat signal. I think that is very, very lame. It's
18:48
Speaker 1: it's like Top Flight and their pilot outfits Doctor Try.
18:53
Speaker 2: Yeah. I was literally like what the show saw. I
18:55
Speaker 2: was like looking for the symbol, like wait for them
18:57
Speaker 2: to call hook, and I'm like, yeah, it's is dumb
19:00
Speaker 2: at this point, like the fans know he's coming out.
19:02
Speaker 2: At this point, he's booked in the match. It's not
19:05
Speaker 2: like it's a safety signal like the actual bad signal was,
19:09
Speaker 2: but it is what it is. I disliked the hook
19:13
Speaker 2: signal more than I disliked Top Flights Outfits.
19:17
Speaker 1: The Young Bucks defeat FDR and the Acclaimed in a
19:19
Speaker 1: three way tag team match and retain aw World Tag
19:21
Speaker 1: Team Championship. We both have the acclaimless one. I really
19:24
Speaker 1: need AWD get back to having a strong tag team
19:26
Speaker 1: title division because this was a solid match that shows
19:29
Speaker 1: how good their tag team to vital title division can be.
19:32
Speaker 1: I would have liked to see the Acclaim get the
19:35
Speaker 1: ruboff defeating the Young Bucks and FTR in the same
19:37
Speaker 1: match at the all in stage, but I understand why
19:40
Speaker 1: they kept the tag team titles on the Young Bucks
19:41
Speaker 1: since they are so strong the seals right now. Grizzly
19:44
Speaker 1: Young Veterans getting a spot postmatch was a nice moment,
19:47
Speaker 1: but I would like to see in a build up
19:49
Speaker 1: with vignettes leading to all In that said GYV was coming,
19:52
Speaker 1: or giv's cutting promos like they did on Dynamite saying
19:55
Speaker 1: that they have their eyes said on the tag team division,
19:58
Speaker 1: on that tag team titles. I would like to see
20:00
Speaker 1: the reverse of that heading into all In rather than
20:02
Speaker 1: what we saw. Your thoughts on this one, Doctor Trey's
20:05
Speaker 1: the Young Bucks get the victory.
20:07
Speaker 2: Yeah, really really good tag match like this, the it
20:12
Speaker 2: wasn't just a spot fests like some of the things
20:13
Speaker 2: they did, like the assisted you know, uh EVP trigger,
20:19
Speaker 2: the assistant you know, with it being you know, a
20:22
Speaker 2: member of the Acclaim in the Bucks, and then the
20:24
Speaker 2: shatter machine with a member of FTR and the Acclaim,
20:27
Speaker 2: like all that stuff was really well done. I'm with you.
20:31
Speaker 2: I would have liked to see the Acclaim get the
20:33
Speaker 2: win here to kind of, you know, that way. It's
20:36
Speaker 2: not the Bucks getting a quote unquote win over FTR,
20:40
Speaker 2: but at least that way it would have kind of
20:41
Speaker 2: been still been even. And yeah, the postmatch beat down,
20:46
Speaker 2: GUYV gets in the ring and their their face at
20:48
Speaker 2: the Bucks. But then they take out FDR and there's like,
20:51
Speaker 2: but but why like give us a little bit of
20:53
Speaker 2: a lead into it, because you know, still a lot
20:57
Speaker 2: of American audiences and a lot of the American casual
21:00
Speaker 2: fans that might have been watching on in doesn't know
21:02
Speaker 2: who GYV is, so you might want to build them
21:04
Speaker 2: up a little bit leading in because heck, as far
21:07
Speaker 2: as I knew, I thought they were still part of
21:08
Speaker 2: Impact a little bit, so I was a little confused
21:11
Speaker 2: on all that, But overall, the match itself was fantastic
21:14
Speaker 2: tag team wrestling.
21:16
Speaker 1: Next match is Christian Cage winning the Casino Gauntlet match
21:19
Speaker 1: for a future aw World Championship match. We both had
21:22
Speaker 1: hanging man out and page in this one. This is
21:24
Speaker 1: the best match concept they have an aaw with that set.
21:27
Speaker 1: I think they need to pull a page from ww's
21:29
Speaker 1: book and have the ringing out or go over the
21:30
Speaker 1: rules for the fans each time the match takes place.
21:33
Speaker 1: The sound and countdown from five seconds to the entrance
21:35
Speaker 1: was anti climatic, and I think they need to start
21:37
Speaker 1: at ten like fans are accustomed to for these types
21:39
Speaker 1: of matches. Nigel McGinnis making this entering return from retirement
21:43
Speaker 1: was an awesome moment, as was g One Climax winner
21:45
Speaker 1: Zach Saber Junior making a surprise appearance. The finish was
21:48
Speaker 1: met as what appeared to be kill switch slash. Lucasaurus
21:52
Speaker 1: finally turning on Christian Cage was for not. I think
21:54
Speaker 1: at this point they won't get a great reaction for
21:56
Speaker 1: Lucasaurus eventually turning on Christian Cage because they have teas
21:59
Speaker 1: him turning on Cage on too many times. I like
22:01
Speaker 1: Christian Cage, but I would like to see someone else
22:04
Speaker 1: win this match, quite honestly, So Doctor Trey, your thoughts
22:08
Speaker 1: here as Christian Cage wins the Casino Gatlin match.
22:11
Speaker 2: Same thing as you like the initial part, like explain
22:14
Speaker 2: the rules and the match a lot better, like just
22:16
Speaker 2: cause if you had like for me, this is only
22:20
Speaker 2: the second one I've actually watched from beginning to end,
22:22
Speaker 2: so I was still a little confused on the rules.
22:26
Speaker 2: Second thing was basically like you said, like, have threagnazz
22:29
Speaker 2: to go the rules, explain it. Seeing Nigel McGinnis in
22:34
Speaker 2: the ring was a joy, and I was like fully
22:38
Speaker 2: on board. If you hadn't let Nigel win this, I
22:40
Speaker 2: would have been just I couldn't tell you how happy
22:43
Speaker 2: I would have been just because he's such a class act.
22:46
Speaker 2: He's been that way for so many years. The face
22:50
Speaker 2: off with him and Zach Saber Junior for British wrestling fans,
22:53
Speaker 2: I think as a kid to seeing you know, Sina
22:55
Speaker 2: and Rock in a lot of ways like these are
22:57
Speaker 2: the two focal points of the last twenty years of
23:00
Speaker 2: British wrestling.
23:02
Speaker 1: Well, he was, he was, you know, inspired by Nigel ZSJ.
23:07
Speaker 2: And then the only thing I would have waited for
23:09
Speaker 2: is they they started fighting a little too quickly, Like
23:12
Speaker 2: I wanted the crowd. I wanted that face, I wanted
23:16
Speaker 2: that Hulk Covid Rock Speranto WrestleMania eighteen moments, you know,
23:21
Speaker 2: for the fans in Wembley, I think they went they
23:23
Speaker 2: started the action just a little too quick with Zach
23:25
Speaker 2: and Nigel might have just been anxious. It's been what
23:29
Speaker 2: eight years since he's been in a ring, ten years
23:31
Speaker 2: since he's been in.
23:31
Speaker 1: A ring longer I think I think the last time
23:33
Speaker 1: he was in the ring was Desmond Wolf and TNA.
23:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, so oh god, that's yeah, crazy, crazy amount of
23:39
Speaker 2: time and still in great shape. Stuff. With the seeing
23:44
Speaker 2: Nigel and Okada face off like that was really cool,
23:47
Speaker 2: Like there were so many like a little cool moments
23:49
Speaker 2: because I think, if I'm not mistaken, it wasn't Okada
23:51
Speaker 2: in TNA when when he.
23:53
Speaker 1: Was there, he was I think he was working with God,
23:57
Speaker 1: he's working at like awful James Bond. M was he
24:01
Speaker 1: working with Joe at the.
24:02
Speaker 2: Time, and either Joe and then then he was doing
24:05
Speaker 2: that Cato like the green hornet type gimmick? Yes, yes, yes,
24:10
Speaker 2: but yeah, like that, those elements of that match were
24:12
Speaker 2: so good. I'm fine with Christian Cage getting to win
24:16
Speaker 2: kind of clued me in on the main event because
24:20
Speaker 2: he would be a great person for you know, Brian,
24:23
Speaker 2: like Swerve doesn't need to be Christian Cage, but a
24:26
Speaker 2: Brian Danielson at least getting one title victory under his
24:30
Speaker 2: belt would be good for his his career. So it
24:33
Speaker 2: kind of cluded me in there. But you're right on
24:36
Speaker 2: the Luca Source thing like that. This is where the
24:37
Speaker 2: announcers messed up in the beginning, because when he came
24:40
Speaker 2: out with lou source of gimmick, We're like, why is
24:43
Speaker 2: he doing it now? Like I don't get it because
24:45
Speaker 2: they missed that spot early on in in the in
24:48
Speaker 2: the trios match, Otherwise it would have been really it
24:51
Speaker 2: would have played off really well. But it has almost
24:54
Speaker 2: blown Lucasaurce ever turning on him because like, well, dude,
24:57
Speaker 2: you're putting up with everything and you still haven't done
25:00
Speaker 2: it yet, Like you're you're never gonna turn So it's hell.
25:04
Speaker 2: They've been teasing this for a year and a half
25:06
Speaker 2: now that he's gonna turn on Christian Page, and he
25:08
Speaker 2: hasn't really done it. So at this point it's just whatever.
25:11
Speaker 2: But I'm happy for Christian to get that main events.
25:13
Speaker 2: By I mean he's gonna get a good title match
25:15
Speaker 2: at some point, because this has been the best Christian
25:18
Speaker 2: Page run that we've probably seen since his second World
25:22
Speaker 2: title run with the stuff with Randy Orton.
25:25
Speaker 1: And again, this is where things need to be explained better.
25:27
Speaker 1: I'm under the presumption that this has like money in
25:29
Speaker 1: the bank briefcase rules to it and the Casino Gala match,
25:32
Speaker 1: that he, like Daniels, could get laid out and Christian
25:35
Speaker 1: Cage can come down and cash in on his title match.
25:40
Speaker 2: The way I understood was he still had to kind
25:42
Speaker 2: of he could announce He's Chell.
25:44
Speaker 1: You what I mean? Yeah? Yeah, there's confusion, yeah yeah,
25:48
Speaker 1: and that that's a problem I have with their creative
25:51
Speaker 1: and I have a problem with their production as well.
25:53
Speaker 1: I mean, they very rarely show a replays like that
25:57
Speaker 1: should have been a replay postmatch in the trios match,
26:00
Speaker 1: if that was going to come back later on the
26:02
Speaker 1: show of Lucasaurus kill Switch turning on Christian Cage that
26:06
Speaker 1: should have been aired after that Trios match, heading a
26:09
Speaker 1: little bit of foreshadowing into the Casino Gauntlet match. I mean,
26:13
Speaker 1: these are things that I have issues with when it
26:15
Speaker 1: comes to aw is their creative like attention to detail,
26:19
Speaker 1: and their production is at times awful.
26:22
Speaker 2: Yeah. I was gonna mention this like maybe towards the end,
26:25
Speaker 2: but just as you mentioned it, now, I get that
26:27
Speaker 2: you're trying to show how big the crowd is, but
26:30
Speaker 2: you're sacrificing moments in the big moments in the match
26:35
Speaker 2: for crowd shots at times, like you're cutting back in
26:38
Speaker 2: and you're like, wait, what just happened. Like it's like
26:41
Speaker 2: their camera shots and their direction is oftentimes on these
26:44
Speaker 2: big shows because it's like, yeah, show the crowd in
26:48
Speaker 2: between matches, don't show it in the middle of the match.
26:51
Speaker 2: I'm trying to see what's happening. Jesus Christ, this is easy.
26:55
Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a couple of moments that they don't
26:57
Speaker 1: immediately come to mind specifics, but I remember there were
26:59
Speaker 1: moments that they spots because they were showing the crowd reaction.
27:02
Speaker 2: There was one of them was in was one of
27:05
Speaker 2: them was in the mjf Ospray match. There's a dive spot.
27:08
Speaker 2: He was either mjf Osprey or Park one of them
27:11
Speaker 2: doing a dive and they literally cut while he was
27:14
Speaker 2: in mid air, Like they cut to him in mid air.
27:18
Speaker 2: You're like, what just happened? Why is he flying? I
27:21
Speaker 2: don't know what just happened here?
27:22
Speaker 1: So yeah, AW production can be a show in itself
27:25
Speaker 1: because no lack of replays all the time during the
27:28
Speaker 1: match for stuff that you miss, especially this day and age,
27:30
Speaker 1: whe people aren't like fully paying attention. They could be tweeting,
27:33
Speaker 1: they could be checking their phone, like do that stuff
27:35
Speaker 1: for me, or if you want to emphasize it during
27:37
Speaker 1: the match, please do that is one thing. And there's
27:40
Speaker 1: a lot of choppiness with their broadcast as well, but
27:43
Speaker 1: that's been something I've had a personal gripe with for
27:46
Speaker 1: quite some times when I watch AW. Speaking of which,
27:50
Speaker 1: next match year is will Osprey defeating MJF to win
27:52
Speaker 1: the aw International Championship. We both at MJF and this
27:56
Speaker 1: one fun build great match will Ospray and MGF for
27:59
Speaker 1: some of my favorite to watch today. Jan You Garcia's
28:02
Speaker 1: appearance was a surprise as his contract status continues to loom.
28:05
Speaker 1: One more or else was there to say other than
28:07
Speaker 1: I would love to see these two continue their feud
28:09
Speaker 1: for a while. This is a fun match, doctor try Yeah.
28:12
Speaker 2: These are one of those things fight forever type things
28:14
Speaker 2: like this is you know, this could be your sena
28:17
Speaker 2: Orton rivalry for eight tom. This is the only thing
28:20
Speaker 2: you build on for ten years and you can always
28:22
Speaker 2: circle back to it. I love Mtfskier by the way.
28:25
Speaker 2: I was like, did he steal that? I mean, did
28:27
Speaker 2: he call Xavier Woods to be like, hey, do you
28:29
Speaker 2: still have the old consequences Creed gear?
28:31
Speaker 1: No, dude, you don't know who that was?
28:34
Speaker 2: Well was that Luger?
28:35
Speaker 1: Yeah that was Luger Man.
28:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, I forgot about the Luger the Luger gear, but
28:39
Speaker 2: like I was just like man like he had elements
28:42
Speaker 2: of he had the top hat from you know, Rocky four.
28:46
Speaker 2: Then the Luger Xavier Woods consequence of the creed gear.
28:49
Speaker 2: I'm like, this is fantastic, but uh yeah, this was
28:53
Speaker 2: a great match, great storytelling. I love this is when
28:56
Speaker 2: storytelling factor is interrestling. When they brought up how like
29:00
Speaker 2: he was afraid to use the Tiger Driver over and
29:02
Speaker 2: over and over, and then when he finally hits it,
29:04
Speaker 2: You're like, boom, that's the finish. Like he did so
29:09
Speaker 2: many as cutters and everything else in that match is
29:11
Speaker 2: hitting blades, but when he hit the Tiger Driver, you
29:14
Speaker 2: knew is over. It's like that's how storytelling and commentary
29:18
Speaker 2: can lead into getting emotionally invested in a match even more.
29:22
Speaker 2: But like just in ring action was just well, this
29:25
Speaker 2: is one of the better matches we've seen in I
29:28
Speaker 2: don't know if I like this one. This one I
29:29
Speaker 2: might like better than there's that fifty eight minute match
29:32
Speaker 2: I had a few, like a month.
29:33
Speaker 1: Ago, I would agree with you. I think this was
29:35
Speaker 1: a better match than that one as well, which is
29:37
Speaker 1: insane to say because they had so much more time
29:40
Speaker 1: back in during Dynamite. But again, my takeaway from that
29:43
Speaker 1: match was I was like, I hate the picture and picture,
29:44
Speaker 1: I hate the commercial breaks. I want to see it
29:46
Speaker 1: all the way through. That's a big thing I'm a
29:49
Speaker 1: stickler on when it comes to TV matches, But this
29:51
Speaker 1: match was great. It was very enjoyable MGFF and we'll ospra.
29:54
Speaker 1: I would love to see it continue on moving forward.
29:56
Speaker 1: At this point, it seems like it's a little bit
29:58
Speaker 1: pause as going into all out. Will Ospray Pack, MGF
30:02
Speaker 1: Daniel Garcia will be the matches that are taking place there.
30:06
Speaker 1: Next match here is Mercedes Bone defeating Brett Doctor Britt
30:09
Speaker 1: Baker DMD to retain the AWTBS Championship. Dot Tray and
30:12
Speaker 1: I both have Mercedes Bonett. I did not love this match,
30:15
Speaker 1: and based on the reaction from the Webley crowd, it
30:16
Speaker 1: didn't feel like they did either. The finish came off
30:19
Speaker 1: as anti climatic and disappointing. I really like Mercedes being
30:23
Speaker 1: paired with Camille and I've enjoyed parts of the feud
30:25
Speaker 1: with Britt Baker, but the match did not live up
30:27
Speaker 1: to expectations. I hope they do it again and all
30:29
Speaker 1: out to get another shot at this one living up
30:31
Speaker 1: to its expectations. There is a comment here for Mercedes
30:36
Speaker 1: Bone that I will get you in just a second,
30:38
Speaker 1: but I'm sure your thoughts on this one.
30:42
Speaker 2: I liked it better than most Mercedes Bone matches, but yeah,
30:46
Speaker 2: like these are supposed to be like two of your
30:48
Speaker 2: cake performers, Like this is your secondary title and it's
30:52
Speaker 2: going on after your Women's title match, so it better
30:55
Speaker 2: be a better match. I thought it was eh at best,
30:59
Speaker 2: Like there are moments there where I'm like, oh, this
31:00
Speaker 2: is good, and then there's other moms where I'm like
31:02
Speaker 2: this is god awful, So it just kind of averages out.
31:05
Speaker 2: I do like the Mercedes Camille pairing. It gives Mercedes
31:09
Speaker 2: a little bit more heat honor, but the finish kind
31:12
Speaker 2: of felt like a weird WWE finished from like twenty twenty,
31:17
Speaker 2: where it just it's out of nowhere, but not in
31:21
Speaker 2: a good way. It just kind of felt like, oh,
31:24
Speaker 2: oh the match is over. Oh okay, well, and I
31:28
Speaker 2: don't really care for that finisher either, so it just
31:31
Speaker 2: kind of was what it was. It was just it
31:33
Speaker 2: was just it was bad. It's your bad placement on
31:36
Speaker 2: the cart, so you're trying to follow m Gap and
31:38
Speaker 2: Osbary that just had a hell of a match, or
31:42
Speaker 2: you're you're placing like if you had flipped Tony's matches
31:45
Speaker 2: with Mariah. In this match, I might have liked it better.
31:48
Speaker 2: I just think there's bad placement, bad timing, and then
31:52
Speaker 2: you know they're still a little clunky, because what the
31:55
Speaker 2: last two years, these two girls that probably wrestled combined
31:59
Speaker 2: eight matches.
32:01
Speaker 1: So Mercedes Monay, I guess has like a newsletter where
32:05
Speaker 1: she comments on things in her you know what's going
32:08
Speaker 1: on in the world. It's Monet magazine or mag that
32:12
Speaker 1: people can subscribe to. And this was a little clip
32:14
Speaker 1: from the most recent one in regards to her match
32:17
Speaker 1: with Burt Baker at aw All in that Russell Puris
32:20
Speaker 1: had put up on their Twitter account as well. Mercedes wrote,
32:24
Speaker 1: is there anything I would have done differently? There is,
32:27
Speaker 1: honestly a lot, but I don't ever want to go
32:29
Speaker 1: too deep into what ifs about my match sort of
32:31
Speaker 1: life for that matter. I'll just say that I learned
32:33
Speaker 1: a lot from the match and can only grow by
32:35
Speaker 1: continuing to try new things. I maybe would have listened
32:37
Speaker 1: to my instincts more. I feel I did things that
32:39
Speaker 1: maybe were not necessarily required for that match, things I
32:42
Speaker 1: could have saved for another time. But again little sense
32:44
Speaker 1: and looking too far back. Other than what we can
32:46
Speaker 1: learn and use moving forward. One thing is for sure,
32:49
Speaker 1: I can't wait to do it all over again next
32:51
Speaker 1: year in Texas. In regards to all in Dutch tray,
32:54
Speaker 1: so she vaguely poignantly, however you want to look at it,
33:00
Speaker 1: acknowledges that the match did not live up to the
33:02
Speaker 1: expectations and there may have been some stuff going on
33:04
Speaker 1: behind the scenes that caused some differences and changes in
33:07
Speaker 1: the way that match was approached.
33:10
Speaker 2: Well, I don't know if you felt like comments by
33:11
Speaker 2: Mark Henry. Mark Henry reviewed the match, and he said
33:14
Speaker 2: you'd see spots where he thought Brent Baker was sandbagging
33:17
Speaker 2: Mercedes Modey, And I was this like began the match.
33:20
Speaker 2: I loved how the beginning matches like working the back,
33:22
Speaker 2: working the back, selling all that stuff commentary, and then
33:26
Speaker 2: it felt like it just all switched and went in
33:30
Speaker 2: different directions. So I thought the beginning of the match
33:32
Speaker 2: started off strong, and that might be what she's alloting to,
33:34
Speaker 2: where it's like, hey, should I have done a few
33:36
Speaker 2: things differently that she could change. Yeah, I think the
33:39
Speaker 2: psychology the beginning match was great and then it just
33:42
Speaker 2: kind of went out the window from about the ten
33:46
Speaker 2: minute mark onto the finish like that, the last half
33:49
Speaker 2: of that match was just not great at all.
33:52
Speaker 1: Next match, here is Jack Perry defeating Darby Allen in
33:54
Speaker 1: a coffin match re tame AWTNT Championship. I had Darby Allen,
33:58
Speaker 1: Doctor Treya Jack Perry. This was surprisingly a dominant victory
34:02
Speaker 1: from Jack Perry for the most part. I wonder if
34:04
Speaker 1: parts of the match were cut short due to making
34:07
Speaker 1: sure they had enough time for sting surprise return post
34:09
Speaker 1: match and or the main event, or the introductions from
34:13
Speaker 1: the main event, or did the match go as planned
34:16
Speaker 1: to make sure Jack Perry came off strong as he
34:18
Speaker 1: appears to be the contender for the AW World Championship.
34:21
Speaker 1: It all out now. Not sure if I like Darby
34:24
Speaker 1: Allen taking a loss of weeks away from an aw
34:26
Speaker 1: World Championship match of his own, which I believe is
34:28
Speaker 1: taking place at a w Grand Slam because he won
34:30
Speaker 1: the Royal Rampage match. But here we are. It was
34:33
Speaker 1: great to see sing back in AAW ring and if
34:35
Speaker 1: you like Jack Perry, then you'd like how this match went.
34:38
Speaker 1: If you're a Darby Allen fan, then you're probably not
34:40
Speaker 1: too thrilled with being dominated by Jack Perry. This was
34:42
Speaker 1: a strange one, Doctor Trey your thoughts. Here's Jack Perry
34:45
Speaker 1: defeats Darby Allen.
34:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, I did not like it just because of how
34:49
Speaker 2: short it was. It felt very very one sided. It
34:54
Speaker 2: was just it was weird because these are two pillars
34:57
Speaker 2: and you think they would get spray mjf amount of
35:01
Speaker 2: time you think they would get and that's the good thing,
35:04
Speaker 2: like you and I say here and say like we
35:05
Speaker 2: we get onto aw for pay per views going too
35:09
Speaker 2: long and like, no, this is one you should have
35:11
Speaker 2: given a little more time to, like just a little
35:14
Speaker 2: more creams because these are two of your building blocks
35:16
Speaker 2: and you kind of cut one guy off at the
35:19
Speaker 2: knees almost figuratively in this match, but uh, you know,
35:22
Speaker 2: getting stinging back to make an appearance at Wembley's. Great
35:25
Speaker 2: love that. But the match itself was just just kind
35:29
Speaker 2: of a letdown for a coffin matches because it was
35:31
Speaker 2: so short and just didn't give you know, Darby a
35:34
Speaker 2: lot of time and especially like you said, if he's
35:36
Speaker 2: challenging over the world title, you have a little more time.
35:39
Speaker 1: Yeah, it was it was very very very strange. Yeah,
35:44
Speaker 1: did not did not enjoy this one at all. Next
35:48
Speaker 1: match here is the main event, Brian Danielson defeating Sturve
35:51
Speaker 1: Strickland in a title versus screw match to win the
35:53
Speaker 1: AW World Championship. I had Brian Danielson doctor trades for
35:57
Speaker 1: of Strickland. Fun build, amazing crowd, and a great match.
36:00
Speaker 1: This was a really strong showcase of good in ring
36:02
Speaker 1: storytelling and an amazing match philosophy. I thoroughly enjoyed this match,
36:07
Speaker 1: and while I'm happy for Brian Danielson finally getting the
36:09
Speaker 1: AW World Championship, I am sad that Swerves Strickland's reign
36:12
Speaker 1: ends a bit shorter than I would have hoped for.
36:14
Speaker 1: It's the price we pay to continue seeing one of
36:16
Speaker 1: the greatest of all time to do his thing as
36:18
Speaker 1: a world champion again. Dotch Trey, your thoughts on this one,
36:21
Speaker 1: as Brian Danielson is your new AW World Champion.
36:26
Speaker 2: Uh, Basically, I echo you're saying is this is great
36:29
Speaker 2: build up to it. The storytelling was great, the emotions
36:32
Speaker 2: were great. This is main event quality caliber wrestling, Like
36:36
Speaker 2: if you're gonna show somebody like, hey, how can we
36:39
Speaker 2: have a babyface versus I guess Swerves a tweener in
36:45
Speaker 2: a sense like he's more babyfacing now. But this is
36:48
Speaker 2: how you do it. You have one guy play a
36:50
Speaker 2: little bit more of an ass whole character, one guy
36:52
Speaker 2: playing into your sympathy, crowd gets behind it, and then
36:56
Speaker 2: you guys go out and just kill it in the ring.
36:58
Speaker 2: And they did a great job in the ring. So
37:01
Speaker 2: you know, I don't know if adew is working us
37:04
Speaker 2: by saying that, you know, Brian Danson only has so
37:07
Speaker 2: many matches left in him, so to speak, and he's
37:09
Speaker 2: under doctor's ars, only have so many matches and stuff
37:13
Speaker 2: like that, if that was a work or not. But
37:15
Speaker 2: I mean they got into my fields a little bit, Jeff.
37:17
Speaker 2: And that as for when it comes to a main
37:20
Speaker 2: event match, I mean, dear god, you could hear Brian
37:23
Speaker 2: Danielson's kids yelling at ringside during the match. I don't
37:28
Speaker 2: know if that was intentional or just Bertie is that loud?
37:31
Speaker 2: But I mean I've felt that before, like in the
37:35
Speaker 2: ring when my daughter was really young and she saw me,
37:38
Speaker 2: you know, take a beating at a show and I
37:40
Speaker 2: could hear her at ringside screaming, you know, leave my
37:44
Speaker 2: daddy alone. Like that gets in your feels a little bit,
37:48
Speaker 2: especially when you're a parent and stuff like you feel
37:50
Speaker 2: all that stuff. So good job for the main event.
37:53
Speaker 2: Just fantastic, fantastic match.
37:56
Speaker 1: Danielson did say postmatch that this was the greatest moment
37:58
Speaker 1: in his career. I think this is comparable to WrestleMania thirty.
38:03
Speaker 1: For Yesselemania, you was a fan oct Trey, Which one
38:06
Speaker 1: of those moments did you prefer? Uh?
38:11
Speaker 2: Probably thirty because he was still relatively I don't say numb,
38:17
Speaker 2: you're young, but he was still kind of on the
38:19
Speaker 2: come up in the build and Yesselemania season was really
38:22
Speaker 2: really big. This one. You did have the chase, you
38:27
Speaker 2: did have him trying to get to this spot. But
38:30
Speaker 2: I guess he's much more of the He already has
38:33
Speaker 2: a legacy and WrestleMania thirty was starting the legacy.
38:37
Speaker 1: I guess, I speaking, I preferred WrestleMania thirty as well.
38:41
Speaker 1: He was a cemented star at this moment. While it
38:43
Speaker 1: was a very nice moment, YESSELMANI confirmed that he was
38:46
Speaker 1: a top dog and everything that if you followed Danielson's
38:51
Speaker 1: career of the four years previous to that, then you
38:54
Speaker 1: never thought he would be the guy in wa And
38:56
Speaker 1: they closed a WRESTLEMANI with him being the face of
38:58
Speaker 1: the company and in something that was it's a huge
39:00
Speaker 1: fan momentum push and wave that is rare and organic
39:06
Speaker 1: that you tend to not see all the time. But
39:07
Speaker 1: Danielson obviously has different thoughts and feelings towards this favorite moment.
39:11
Speaker 1: Fans will definitely have theirs as well, and it was
39:13
Speaker 1: a great moment this past Sunday as he closed out
39:16
Speaker 1: aw All In as the new aw World Champion and
39:19
Speaker 1: is now set to presumably take on Jack Perry at
39:22
Speaker 1: aw All Out in less than nine days for the
39:25
Speaker 1: next pay per view that they will be holding in Chicago.
39:29
Speaker 1: Paper view prediction record and our Match the Knight event rating.
39:32
Speaker 1: We both went five and five coming out of this one.
39:34
Speaker 1: I'm ninety seven and twenty eight Dot Tray's eighty nine
39:37
Speaker 1: and thirty six event rating and Match the Knight For me,
39:41
Speaker 1: I gave all In a four point oho out of
39:43
Speaker 1: five and my Match the Knight was Brian Danielson and
39:45
Speaker 1: Sword of Strickland Doctor Trey.
39:47
Speaker 2: Yeah. I did four point one out of five and
39:49
Speaker 2: I had seven Brian Danielson as well, So.
39:52
Speaker 1: There you go. There is aw all In four point
39:56
Speaker 1: one from Doctor Trey four point oh from me and
39:59
Speaker 1: Danielson's of both being in our match the night. Feel
40:01
Speaker 1: free to chime in on Facebook or on x add
40:05
Speaker 1: User to You podcast on Xoorfacebook dot com Slash the
40:08
Speaker 1: Stinereal to Us show. With that said, Doctor Trey, let's
40:11
Speaker 1: preview and predict the two w WEE shows coming up
40:14
Speaker 1: here first, beginning with this Saturday w Bash in Berlin
40:18
Speaker 1: live from the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany. The first
40:21
Speaker 1: match here on the car We've got Alba Fire and
40:23
Speaker 1: Eila Dawn defending the WA Women's Tag Team Championship against
40:27
Speaker 1: Bianca Bela Air and Jade Cargill. Who do you like
40:29
Speaker 1: in this one, Doctor Trey.
40:31
Speaker 2: Let's see we are in the month of August, still
40:36
Speaker 2: too early for Jay to turn on Beyonca, so I'll
40:39
Speaker 2: go with Beyonca and Jay Gawen Borowray. For all you
40:41
Speaker 2: guys listening, do not google her to Bash at Berlin
40:46
Speaker 2: with your safety features off, because you will get some
40:48
Speaker 2: stuff come up that's not work friendly. Uh. Just be
40:55
Speaker 2: mindful of Bashing in.
40:57
Speaker 1: Berlin, yes, please please be conscious of that. I'm gonna
41:00
Speaker 1: take the Uncle bell Aaron Jade Cark Gill as well.
41:02
Speaker 1: Next match is Damian priest and Ria Ripley taking on
41:05
Speaker 1: Dirty Dom and Live Morgan in a mixed stag team match.
41:07
Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Damian Ria Ripley in this one, Doctor Trey.
41:11
Speaker 2: Um Man, Yeah, that seems like the safe pick. I'll
41:14
Speaker 2: take Date. Well, see you're still way ahead of me.
41:17
Speaker 2: I'll take to Live in Dom stealing a win here,
41:20
Speaker 2: just to make sure we get at least one different
41:22
Speaker 2: on this card.
41:23
Speaker 1: Next match is the Strap match. See him Punk taking
41:25
Speaker 1: Andrew McIntyre. Who do you like in this one?
41:28
Speaker 2: Uh? Drew McIntyre is not winning in Engle, in the
41:31
Speaker 2: in the UK, but maybe he wins in Germany. I'll
41:36
Speaker 2: go Punk. This is a Strap match. I'll go Punk
41:38
Speaker 2: in this one.
41:39
Speaker 1: I'm taking c Hm Punk in this one because i
41:41
Speaker 1: think this is leading to a hell and sl match
41:43
Speaker 1: at bad Blood in early October for the trifecta here.
41:47
Speaker 1: Next match is Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WE Championship
41:50
Speaker 1: against Kevin Owens. I'm gonna take Cody Rhads in this one.
41:53
Speaker 2: Doctor Trey, Yeah, I'm taking Cody. Also, does Ko turn
41:56
Speaker 2: on Cody after the match.
41:57
Speaker 1: I don't think he does, but it's gonna be heavily
42:00
Speaker 1: pushed here in the coming days and weeks. Yeah, I'm
42:03
Speaker 1: more than a week, I guess.
42:05
Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think he does either, but I'm taking
42:07
Speaker 2: I'll take Cody as well.
42:09
Speaker 1: And then finally the main event here, Gunther taking on
42:11
Speaker 1: Randy Orton for the World have aweight Championship. And I
42:13
Speaker 1: love that they did this creatively because this is stuff
42:15
Speaker 1: that I want to see aw do. If Orton wins,
42:17
Speaker 1: he will be transferred to Raw and guntherro will be
42:19
Speaker 1: transferred to SmackDown. So, Doctor Trey, who do you liking
42:22
Speaker 1: this one? Coming out as the World of Away champion.
42:25
Speaker 2: I'm taking Gunther's. It's this is literal, this paper. He
42:28
Speaker 2: was literally built around Gunther. So I'm taking Gunther.
42:30
Speaker 1: I too, am taking Gunther. Then let's get to the
42:34
Speaker 1: Sunday show from the Ballerina in Denver, Colorado, NXT no
42:38
Speaker 1: Mercy previewing predictions. First match here is wes Lee taking
42:42
Speaker 1: on Zachary Wentz. I'll kick it off here, Doctor Trey,
42:46
Speaker 1: I have wes Lee in this one.
42:48
Speaker 2: Yeah, I have wes also, And a lot of it
42:50
Speaker 2: is because the kind of what he said that prom
42:51
Speaker 2: the night. He goes, oh, I'm a wuz. You can
42:54
Speaker 2: go back to TNA. Yeah, I'm taking a Wes in
42:56
Speaker 2: this one as well.
42:57
Speaker 1: Next match is Obafemi defending the NXC North American Championship
43:00
Speaker 1: against Tony DiAngelo Dot Trey. Who do you like in
43:02
Speaker 1: this one?
43:03
Speaker 2: Man? This one was tough because Oba's about dude to
43:07
Speaker 2: move up to the main event level. But you got
43:10
Speaker 2: Paie just got the belt, So I will take OBA
43:12
Speaker 2: retaining over Tony d right now, I.
43:15
Speaker 1: Too, am gonna take Oba family winning this one, and
43:17
Speaker 1: I've enjoyed this feud and build as he continues to
43:20
Speaker 1: disrespect the don. Next match is Chase You defend the
43:23
Speaker 1: NX Tag Team CHAMPIONIP against Nathan Fraser and Axiom. I'm
43:27
Speaker 1: gonna take Nathan Fraser and Axiom regaining the tag team titles,
43:30
Speaker 1: which leads to some issues in Chase You moving forward.
43:34
Speaker 1: D Trey, who do you like in this one?
43:36
Speaker 2: I'm I'm going to the opposite route. I'm taking Chase
43:38
Speaker 2: U so we finally get the Nathan Fraser Axiom breakup.
43:41
Speaker 2: So I'm gonna take Chase you all right.
43:43
Speaker 1: Next match here is Kalanie Jordan defending the NX Women's
43:46
Speaker 1: North American Championship against Wendy Chu Dot Trey. Who do
43:49
Speaker 1: you like in this one?
43:50
Speaker 2: By the way, how like? How great was he? Rosemary
43:54
Speaker 2: on NXT? Oh?
43:55
Speaker 1: It was awesome. I loved it. Surreal.
43:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, And I love that they tied it in the
44:00
Speaker 2: Windy Chew characters. It made a lot of sense also,
44:02
Speaker 2: so I think it might still be too earlier to
44:06
Speaker 2: take the belt off Kilani, but the Wendy Chew characters interesting.
44:10
Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna take Kilanie sneaking out sneaking out
44:13
Speaker 2: the victory, though.
44:13
Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Wendy Chew because I think putting the
44:16
Speaker 1: title on her is a big thing and a big
44:20
Speaker 1: deal and help with her character. And I think it
44:22
Speaker 1: also adds a little bit more dempth to Kalanie Jordan's
44:24
Speaker 1: character that we've seen over the last couple of weeks
44:26
Speaker 1: as well. Next match is Roxanne Perez take it on
44:29
Speaker 1: Jada Parker for the NXC Women's Championship. I'm gonna take
44:32
Speaker 1: Roxanne Perez in this one, but I love the Jada
44:34
Speaker 1: Parker's in this match and in this spot because I
44:36
Speaker 1: think she's gonna be a big star one day. In NXT.
44:39
Speaker 1: I think she has a lot of poise and I'm
44:42
Speaker 1: very excited to watch her continue to grow. I think
44:45
Speaker 1: Roxanne retains because Julia and Sephanie Vakor are on their
44:49
Speaker 1: way to to NXT. So Roxanne retains in my eyes,
44:51
Speaker 1: Doctor Trey.
44:52
Speaker 2: If you didn't pull the trigger with Lolavice a couple
44:55
Speaker 2: months ago, I don't see them pulling the trigger with
44:57
Speaker 2: Jada Parker. I think this is like the low Vice
45:00
Speaker 2: treatment for Danna Parker, where you'd make her a top
45:03
Speaker 2: female star without actually putting the belt on her. So
45:05
Speaker 2: I'm gonna say Roxe and Perez retaining as well.
45:07
Speaker 1: And then finally the main event, Ethan Page defends the
45:10
Speaker 1: NXC Championship against Joe Henry. What do you like in
45:12
Speaker 1: this one, Doctor Trey.
45:14
Speaker 2: Man, this was a little good I love if you
45:17
Speaker 2: listen to so long, if you know, I love chaos,
45:19
Speaker 2: I love weird stuff. I would love Joe Hendry to
45:22
Speaker 2: win this match just to see the NC Championship on
45:25
Speaker 2: TNA Wrestling. I just don't think w is comfortable doing
45:28
Speaker 2: it completely. I think they believe in Joe Henry, but
45:31
Speaker 2: I think they believe they should give Ethan Page to win,
45:33
Speaker 2: So I'm taking Ethan Page.
45:35
Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Ethan Page as well. And Doctor Trey's
45:37
Speaker 1: gotta love this little addition. I'm gonna add I think
45:39
Speaker 1: Josh Alexander helps his former North running mate get the
45:43
Speaker 1: victory because he is currently feuding with I believe Joe
45:47
Speaker 1: Hendry on t and TNA television right now. So I'm
45:49
Speaker 1: gonna say Josh Alexander makes an appearance at NXTTV. Doctor Trey,
45:54
Speaker 1: I was.
45:55
Speaker 2: Thinking the same thing because Josh took out Joe Hendry
