- 1:00Speaker 1: Oh boy, here we go. Monday morning, the sun is shining.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It is an absolute beautiful, beautiful day out there today.
- 1:09Speaker 1: This is probably going to be the pick of the week. Although,
- 1:16Speaker 1: the rest of this week is not shabby at all.
- 1:20Speaker 1: It is gorgeous. Plenty of sunshine. It's going to be amazing.
- 1:26Speaker 1: We do have... Quite a bit of road construction that's
- 1:30Speaker 1: going to be going on this week. I'll tell you,
- 1:32Speaker 1: driving in this morning, just coming into Barry, coming down
- 1:40Speaker 1: Upper Washington Street. I mean, it was, I don't know what's,
- 1:46Speaker 1: maybe it was just coincidentally the time that I was
- 1:48Speaker 1: coming through, but man, it was jammed up from Stones
- 1:52Speaker 1: all the way right into Barry, so. Took a long
- 1:54Speaker 1: time to get through that spot. 89 today, Montpelier to Waterbury.
- 1:58Speaker 1: The southbound lane closures are going to be going on
- 2:02Speaker 1: until 6 p.m., about one mile north of Exit 8
- 2:08Speaker 1: and the Exit 8 interchange. All right. Keep your speed
- 2:12Speaker 1: in check. Expect delays. Slow the hell down. 89 Bethel
- 2:17Speaker 1: Brookfield paving single lane closures. They're saying narrow ramps, reduced
- 2:23Speaker 1: speed limits. Workday week is scheduled until from, well, 6 a.m.
- 2:28Speaker 1: until 6 p.m. every day this week. Northfield Route 12,
- 2:34Speaker 1: still a little bit of a cluster over there. The
- 2:36Speaker 1: southbound lane. Remains permanently closed south of the Route 64 intersection.
- 2:44Speaker 1: That's going on every day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bridgewater,
- 2:48Speaker 1: Route 100. Expect weekday lane closures, says V-Trans. Short delays
- 2:55Speaker 1: at two bridge replacement sites. So you're not going to
- 3:00Speaker 1: be moving quickly through that area. Vershire, Route 113. Traffic
- 3:04Speaker 1: is using the new bridge, which is great news. Alternating
- 3:07Speaker 1: traffic controlled by temporary signals around the clock. Watch for
- 3:13Speaker 1: rough gravel surfaces. The area is kind of a mess still.
- 3:18Speaker 1: And line striping continues pretty much statewide today. Actually, not
- 3:25Speaker 1: just today, all week. So expect wet paint and traffic cones.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Shout out this morning to Fecto Homes. It's going to
- 3:33Speaker 1: be a great week for them. They have a lot
- 3:35Speaker 1: going on over there. They are buttoning things up. They
- 3:37Speaker 1: are selling homes. They are moving stuff left and right.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I am constantly seeing their trucks out there moving and
- 3:45Speaker 1: readjusting the lot. They are so, so busy. Single and
- 3:49Speaker 1: double wide homes, manufactured homes, model homes, new construction, name
- 3:54Speaker 1: it all. They'll do land, home, packages, financing, the whole
- 3:58Speaker 1: nine yards. You want a view? No problem. Get over there.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Speak to the gang. Get a tour. Walk in there yourself.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Have a look around. Or if you want a tour
- 4:08Speaker 1: with a pro, they'll take you through and show you
- 4:12Speaker 1: all of the details of a home that you are
- 4:15Speaker 1: possibly interested in. And it's not too late. A lot
- 4:18Speaker 1: of people are like, well, winter's here. We've got frost
- 4:20Speaker 1: on the ground. Can't move. Can't go anywhere. Not true.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Effective homes will get you in there before the real
- 4:25Speaker 1: snow flies. What a weekend. If I look tired, it's
- 4:30Speaker 1: because I am. And here's why. Just a little bit
- 4:36Speaker 1: of why. Lily's birthday party was Saturday, and it was
- 4:42Speaker 1: just nuts. Hundreds of thousands of kids running around, all
- 4:50Speaker 1: sugared up, thanks to Sherilyn. It was mayhem. Actually, it
- 4:55Speaker 1: was chaos. I mean, a lot of kids, a lot
- 4:58Speaker 1: of sugar, a lot of noise, but also a lot
- 5:01Speaker 1: of laughs and some great memories. It was an amazing weekend.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And then yesterday, our neighbors threw a huge all-day Halloween party,
- 5:10Speaker 1: and it was, I think there were like 30, 35 kids.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I'm not joking. In the house, out of the house,
- 5:18Speaker 1: Nerf guns, sugar, trampolines, just footballs. lots of stuff being spilled,
- 5:29Speaker 1: wiped up. It was crazy. But again, a lot of
- 5:34Speaker 1: great memories. And it was just a fabulous, fabulous weekend.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I hope it was a good one for you. And
- 5:40Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you about a big part of the, uh,
- 5:42Speaker 1: the weekend here in just a second for, for me
- 5:46Speaker 1: as I recap things. But first though, um, shout out
- 5:49Speaker 1: to our local law enforcement, police, fire, first responders, uh,
- 5:57Speaker 1: they had a busy, busy weekend. Um, I'm sure you
- 6:02Speaker 1: heard a lot of the sirens and a lot of
- 6:06Speaker 1: the running around and going here and going there. Um,
- 6:11Speaker 1: just a big tip of the hat to our first responders, police, fire, doctors, nurses, everyone, uh,
- 6:20Speaker 1: working so hard. Um, not just CVMC, but just everywhere.
- 6:26Speaker 1: It was just, uh, This is such a busy time
- 6:29Speaker 1: of year. Everybody is out running around, going here, going there. Um,
- 6:35Speaker 1: and we just appreciate everything that they did for keeping
- 6:38Speaker 1: us safe. Um, and a shout out to the first responders, uh,
- 6:45Speaker 1: and police that were keeping the traffic moving slow and
- 6:50Speaker 1: safely right around Jim's Ville's haunted barn on route 14 South. Um,
- 6:56Speaker 1: A lot of activity over there, a lot of people,
- 6:59Speaker 1: and yeah, it's just amazing. Yes, we're going to be
- 7:03Speaker 1: talking a lot about not only Jimsville coming up this weekend,
- 7:08Speaker 1: but everything else that's happening. Wheels for Warmth, the list
- 7:14Speaker 1: is a mile long. There's car shows still getting in there.
- 7:20Speaker 1: We have Carving for K that is coming up 28th, 29th,
- 7:23Speaker 1: and 30th. And this weekend, aside from the birthday and
- 7:32Speaker 1: Halloween parties and running around and setting up and, man,
- 7:41Speaker 1: going 100 miles an hour. In addition to all of that,
- 7:51Speaker 1: I just, I gotta, I gotta just thank Seth and
- 7:55Speaker 1: Sophie again. Roya over at Lighthouse Hill Farm in Williamstown.
- 8:05Speaker 1: They came through for Carving for K in such a
- 8:09Speaker 1: huge way. Said to me, oh, for Carving for K? Absolutely, JD.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Get over there and take what you need. And no
- 8:22Speaker 1: need for any recognition. Just get the pumpkins to a
- 8:26Speaker 1: great cause. And went over there on, I think it was,
- 8:33Speaker 1: I don't know, when was it? Saturday night, I think.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And loaded up my truck. And just amazing, man. And
- 8:44Speaker 1: I got to tell you, not everybody does that. These
- 8:50Speaker 1: are two that are making a living up there on
- 8:53Speaker 1: that farm. And to donate money. pretty much all of
- 8:59Speaker 1: their remaining pumpkins for the season was huge. So tip
- 9:05Speaker 1: of the hat this morning to Lighthouse Hill Farm in Williamstown,
- 9:10Speaker 1: a pickup truck load of pumpkins going to Carving for K, which,
- 9:17Speaker 1: by the way, is probably, I would say, on a
- 9:23Speaker 1: very healthy trajectory of beating last year's record, which I
- 9:30Speaker 1: think was 200 pumpkins last year. Yesterday alone, between what
- 9:40Speaker 1: was donated from Lighthouse Hill Farm, Wabi, Jet Service Envelope,
- 9:50Speaker 1: Nancy and Mitchell Manning, and Dan Fecteau, I unloaded myself,
- 9:57Speaker 1: 181 pumpkins. which are all ready to be carved by
- 10:05Speaker 1: the students of Waits River Valley School, who are so excited,
- 10:12Speaker 1: so I'm told. And I'll say this this morning, and
- 10:18Speaker 1: I'll make it, abundantly clear. I may need some help
- 10:28Speaker 1: over there at Waits River School. I may be rallying
- 10:31Speaker 1: our community to get together and come and help because
- 10:42Speaker 1: it's quite an undertaking. And I'm not going to lie.
- 10:46Speaker 1: There's been a few times that I have scratched my
- 10:48Speaker 1: head and said, okay, this is all wonderful, but how
- 10:53Speaker 1: are we going to execute this? What are the logistics
- 10:56Speaker 1: here to this? How's the shoulder? Surprisingly, Glenn, it's pretty good.
- 11:03Speaker 1: It's pretty good. I was huffing and puffing. That was
- 11:05Speaker 1: the worst of it. A little bit of icy hot
- 11:10Speaker 1: and good to go. But just a big shout out
- 11:14Speaker 1: to Ruth and Sarah, Kevin, Chris, Betty, and all the
- 11:22Speaker 1: other volunteers that are helping out for Carving for K
- 11:25Speaker 1: this year. It is going to be incredible. And I
- 11:30Speaker 1: cannot wait. I know I've used that word an awful lot.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Overused that word an awful lot lately. But there's just
- 11:41Speaker 1: so many great things that are going on. And this
- 11:44Speaker 1: is just one of them. And man, I hope the kids...
- 11:47Speaker 1: at Waits River School are going to be able to
- 11:51Speaker 1: get over there and see this on the, what is it, 28th, 29th,
- 11:56Speaker 1: and 30th in Barry, right there off Richardson Road. Ruth
- 12:03Speaker 1: Weeks is, she's like a little kid. She is so excited.
- 12:09Speaker 1: When I got over there on Sunday, I think, I
- 12:16Speaker 1: don't even remember, Saturday or Sunday. I can't even remember.
- 12:21Speaker 1: She was out there in the yard raking and just
- 12:24Speaker 1: so cleaning up and getting organized and getting ready. She's
- 12:27Speaker 1: so excited. So lots to be said about that, and
- 12:33Speaker 1: I'm going to be banging that drum all week. It's
- 12:37Speaker 1: going to be just unreal. American League Championship Series. I
- 12:44Speaker 1: don't know if you've been following this. It seems like
- 12:48Speaker 1: in baseball, either people do or they don't. There's either
- 12:51Speaker 1: diehards or not. Some of you are like, who gives
- 12:56Speaker 1: a damn about baseball? I'm all about football right now.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Week six. I understand. But, man, the Brewers, what is it,
- 13:04Speaker 1: 42 years? 43 years that they've been to the World Series?
- 13:14Speaker 1: And they're kicking it off on Friday? Okay. At home?
- 13:19Speaker 1: That's amazing. I always loved going for the underdog. Game 5,
- 13:24Speaker 1: Rays taking the Guardians 3-1. Tampa Bay takes the 3-2
- 13:28Speaker 1: series lead. Game 6 is tonight. Could be the end
- 13:33Speaker 1: of the ALCS. We'll see. 8-0-8, first pitch, Tropicana Field.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Game 7, if needed, will be Tuesday, tomorrow. But, yeah,
- 13:44Speaker 1: how exciting, though. The Brewers await the World Series. On Friday,
- 13:48Speaker 1: Friday night, this coming is when it's going to say,
- 13:51Speaker 1: are you going to watch or could you care less?
- 13:55Speaker 1: Are you all about football? Winners in London yesterday for
- 14:01Speaker 1: week six. Texans take the Jags 34-31. Other winners, and
- 14:08Speaker 1: there was a lot of games yesterday. Bears, Browns, Titans,
- 14:12Speaker 1: Pats saw that game 26-19 over the Jets. There were
- 14:18Speaker 1: a few times there where the Jets were like, wow.
- 14:21Speaker 1: They were really doing well. I don't know if you
- 14:23Speaker 1: watched the game. Saints got a win along with the Panthers.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Steelers in overtime, 26-19 over the Buccaneers. Man, the Bucs
- 14:35Speaker 1: were kicking their ass there for a while. Steelers finally
- 14:41Speaker 1: getting the win there. I know a few people. that
- 14:45Speaker 1: were pretty rattled about that. And Chris Autry is one
- 14:48Speaker 1: of them. My brother is another one. Cardinals, Chiefs, Bills,
- 14:53Speaker 1: all getting wins. Saw a little bit of the Bills
- 14:55Speaker 1: and Raiders. 33-30, that final. Packers took the Cowboys. Are
- 15:01Speaker 1: you surprised? 23-13. Can anybody beat the Cowboys? Hmm. Commanders...
- 15:11Speaker 1: And the 49ers tonight, Monday Night Football at 8.15. Yes,
- 15:17Speaker 1: we did, Crystal. We did get some snow. Saturday morning,
- 15:21Speaker 1: I was coming up over the Orange Heights, and it
- 15:23Speaker 1: was snow-covered roads. They were white. It was, I don't
- 15:30Speaker 1: want to say winter wonderland, but it really was. At
- 15:35Speaker 1: like 8.30, it kind of was. It was beautiful. Saturday morning. Heights, man,
- 15:44Speaker 1: you never know. And it's like a half a mile
- 15:46Speaker 1: down the road. The roads are wet. Everything's great. But man,
- 15:50Speaker 1: right at the tippy top there at the swamp, there's
- 15:53Speaker 1: a belt that goes right through there. National headlines, and
- 15:57Speaker 1: I'll just read them off to you. I'm probably not
- 15:59Speaker 1: going to hang out on this too long. I got
- 16:01Speaker 1: some 20 stores in 20 days stuff that has got
- 16:05Speaker 1: to happen today. And we're going to give you an
- 16:08Speaker 1: update on that in just a little bit. But Trump
- 16:10Speaker 1: waived Russia sanctions and tariffs. The Graham Act. On Friday.
- 16:17Speaker 1: A lot happened this weekend. Seems like everything happens Friday, Saturday,
- 16:22Speaker 1: and Sunday. But when we're all real, real, real busy
- 16:27Speaker 1: and distracted, that's when a lot of shit happens in
- 16:32Speaker 1: the news. 60-day review. Hmm. Rubio says it's too... Assess
- 16:42Speaker 1: economic impact. Zelensky says it'll embolden Putin. Well, we'll see,
- 16:51Speaker 1: won't we? A truck, and this story really kind of
- 16:59Speaker 1: rattled me a little bit. I think it was Friday
- 17:03Speaker 1: when a truck drove into a youth soccer game in Kansas,
- 17:09Speaker 1: killed two kids. 11 people hurt. Of course, there's not
- 17:16Speaker 1: a whole hell of a lot to the story because
- 17:18Speaker 1: of the big investigation that's going on. But was it intentional?
- 17:25Speaker 1: I don't know. I've heard there were a couple of
- 17:27Speaker 1: juveniles in the truck, pickup truck, that went through some
- 17:32Speaker 1: kind of barricade and entered the field during the very
- 17:37Speaker 1: end of a youth soccer game. How tragic. There's a
- 17:47Speaker 1: lot of really heavy headlines going on. Ben Oregon is
- 17:53Speaker 1: one of them. And, you know, busy, distracted in life
- 18:01Speaker 1: as we all are, going here, going there, running around,
- 18:05Speaker 1: but also just trying to, take a minute and just
- 18:09Speaker 1: absorb a little bit of what I'm hearing what I'm seeing.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I'm almost at times afraid to turn on the news.
- 18:19Speaker 1: It's been very heavy lately. We have France in complete chaos.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Some are calling it apocalyptic. Some are referring to parts
- 18:34Speaker 1: of France as total government collapse. I've seen some pictures.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I've seen some video. Maybe you have too on your
- 18:45Speaker 1: social media of the anti-government riots. It's intense. It's really something.
- 18:51Speaker 1: France is burning, as Trump said, and it is. Vance
- 19:01Speaker 1: is blaming immigration policies. What are they so ticked off about?
- 19:08Speaker 1: Cost of living and education. See? We're not the only
- 19:16Speaker 1: ones here in this little green mountain state that are
- 19:20Speaker 1: ticked off about cost of living and education. Chaos. Amazing.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Trump endorsed Netanyahu, a head of Israel's October 27th election,
- 19:35Speaker 1: warning the U.S. may have to, quote, finish the job
- 19:40Speaker 1: in Iran. One of the big headlines this morning. Others, midterms,
- 19:46Speaker 1: 16 days out. Problems. going to be the most expensive
- 19:52Speaker 1: midterms in history. Texas hit a record 19 million registered voters.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Early voting, I believe it's underway right now. NAACP suing
- 20:11Speaker 1: the DOJ over 1,000 election monitors. And the plan for them. Man.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Katie Zachariah. Big headline. All through the weekend. as the
- 20:39Speaker 1: White House press secretary after just five days. Well, she
- 20:43Speaker 1: holds the record. Reportedly over a photo that accidentally included
- 20:50Speaker 1: Trump's golf course plans. Of course, I heard a lot
- 20:57Speaker 1: of chatter about that she allegedly said she was a
- 21:04Speaker 1: lawyer and Turns out she just got a law degree,
- 21:12Speaker 1: but has never been a practicing lawyer. Didn't do too
- 21:17Speaker 1: well on the bar exam either. Senator Slotkin, under fire
- 21:25Speaker 1: through the weekend and still today for saying that Democrats
- 21:32Speaker 1: should prosecute the Trump administration staffers. to scare young conservatives
- 21:39Speaker 1: away from serving. Ukraine and Russia exchanging strikes as the U.S.-Ukraine
- 21:53Speaker 1: relations keep deteriorating. I wonder how low can we go?
- 22:02Speaker 1: What else? Reuters this morning. I've got all the headlines
- 22:06Speaker 1: right here in front of me. The order to throttle
- 22:10Speaker 1: Starlink and Starshield in Ukraine came from inside the White
- 22:15Speaker 1: House after Musk approached Trump about it. Meta taking down
- 22:22Speaker 1: the No Kings Instagram account for four hours during the
- 22:27Speaker 1: early vote activation protests. Ilhan Omar demanding her seized property back.
- 22:37Speaker 1: saying the DOJ circumvented a judge's warrant order in the
- 22:42Speaker 1: home raid. We got a social media mob that swatted
- 22:49Speaker 1: the Cornell 7 Jane Doe. These are all headlines that
- 22:55Speaker 1: I'm skimming through this morning. Some of them I'm just
- 23:00Speaker 1: seeing for the first time. Some of them I'm aware of,
- 23:03Speaker 1: but man, there's a lot of... I'm trying to stop
- 23:06Speaker 1: my head from shaking. A judge tossed Trump's lawsuit against
- 23:15Speaker 1: New York City's sanctuary policies. Trump invoked executive privilege in
- 23:22Speaker 1: the Kennedy Center debacle. ICE is planning a $ 100 million
- 23:28Speaker 1: domestic spy program. I know, Glenn. I hope Glenn took
- 23:36Speaker 1: his blood pressure medication this morning. Wait a minute. He's
- 23:39Speaker 1: not on that anymore. He's lost so much damn weight.
- 23:42Speaker 1: We have a judge that, well, we got that one. Maduro.
- 23:47Speaker 1: That's the big one. Maduro and his wife pleading not
- 23:52Speaker 1: guilty to a new U.S. torture conspiracy indictment trial that
- 23:58Speaker 1: has been pushed a little bit. June 2027. Trump says
- 24:05Speaker 1: he made the right choice on the Russia diesel deal.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I know. Trump is campaigning in an unlikely battleground state
- 24:19Speaker 1: as the GOP fights to hold the Senate. Yeah, that's
- 24:21Speaker 1: going on today. He's running around. Where is he? I
- 24:26Speaker 1: can't remember. Kansas today? Borders are Homan. Saying that Ilhan
- 24:38Speaker 1: Omar could be stripped of naturalization and deported if immigration
- 24:43Speaker 1: fraud is proven. Yep. Let's see, what do we have
- 24:51Speaker 1: going on in this beautiful state of Vermont over the weekend?
- 24:56Speaker 1: The legislature overrode Governor Scott's vetoes. overdose prevention, 100% renewable
- 25:05Speaker 1: electricity by 2035, a B-toxic pesticide restriction, and tax measures.
- 25:17Speaker 1: They failed to override his veto of the data privacy bill.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Senate sustained that one. Wowza. Vermont Yankee. Decommissioning panel. They're
- 25:34Speaker 1: going to be sipping coffee tonight at 6 p.m. Virtually. Chatting.
- 25:46Speaker 1: That'll be interesting. Vermont opened a $ 508, 000 working lands business
- 25:51Speaker 1: grant round. Applications. Open through December 10th. That's a lot
- 26:08Speaker 1: of money. Some say not enough. Vermont Electric Cooperative asking
- 26:16Speaker 1: members to donate to local food shelves through October. Food insecurity,
- 26:20Speaker 1: and that's something we're going to be talking about more
- 26:27Speaker 1: in November and December. And hopefully get some accurate, up-to-date
- 26:36Speaker 1: stats about food insecurity in the state of Vermont. And
- 26:41Speaker 1: I'm hoping, I'm really hoping that someone from the Vermont
- 26:49Speaker 1: Food Bank will come in here. Again, in return to
- 26:56Speaker 1: the microphone. the microphones here, and give us some updated info.
- 27:01Speaker 1: We need it. We deserve it. Let's see. Cornell women's
- 27:07Speaker 1: hockey swept Vermont over the weekend. What else is happening? Yeah,
- 27:15Speaker 1: the Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia. Heavy, heavy stuff. Brazil,
- 27:24Speaker 1: the presidential runoff is heating up. first televised debate. Really intense.
- 27:33Speaker 1: The Alberta separation referendum in Canada. Prime Minister Carney making
- 27:39Speaker 1: a final appeal against it. North Korea launching two ballistic missiles.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Is that really anything that's that's new? NATO scrambled aircraft
- 27:55Speaker 1: in Portland. Or Poland, rather. This is unbelievable. Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Drones flying around. Everybody's all charged up. Wow. And then
- 28:15Speaker 1: we got this Hurricane Trudy threatening parts of the Pacific Coast. Hey.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Let's throw a natural disaster in there to all the fun.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Didn't they just have a typhoon that went through Guam?
- 28:37Speaker 1: This is amazing. We got Sri Lanka. Nationwide power outage. 5.7
- 28:45Speaker 1: magnitude earthquake. Incredible. Stampedes and I don't know. It's just amazing.
- 29:00Speaker 1: And listen, don't get me wrong here. I mean, no
- 29:08Speaker 1: disrespect at all to the Pope or anyone who, uh,
- 29:18Speaker 1: is sensitive to that Catholic or otherwise. Um, I think
- 29:24Speaker 1: it's great that the Pope is successful with the lung
- 29:37Speaker 1: operation and that he's feeling good and back to church.
- 29:51Speaker 1: But there's lots of people in the world that have
- 29:57Speaker 1: a lot to celebrate who have had success and have
- 30:08Speaker 1: dodged bullets with disease and have come out of surgery
- 30:14Speaker 1: and are doing well. And I understand it's a big deal. Um,
- 30:26Speaker 1: but I think all of the regular people in this world,
- 30:33Speaker 1: that that's a big deal. And I'll just leave it
- 30:35Speaker 1: at that before I tick anyone off. Jeez, we got
- 30:41Speaker 1: three Mexicans jailed 158 years each for the killing of
- 30:49Speaker 1: Australian and U.S. surfers. That's another big one that's in
- 30:56Speaker 1: the news today. Yeah, I know. There's a lot of
- 31:00Speaker 1: stuff going on. There's also some amazing things that are
- 31:05Speaker 1: going on in our community. And it fills my heart
- 31:09Speaker 1: to see how many people are out running around in
- 31:13Speaker 1: craft fairs and fall festivals and carving pumpkins, decorating. There
- 31:22Speaker 1: are some really great things that are happening in our
- 31:24Speaker 1: community right here in our backyard. And I have said
- 31:29Speaker 1: this many times on the air, and I'll say it
- 31:32Speaker 1: again this morning. Do not, as you could probably tell,
- 31:36Speaker 1: I try not to. Do not consume yourself with all
- 31:43Speaker 1: of the heavy headlines that are going on through this
- 31:47Speaker 1: past weekend. Just try not to. Stop, pause, reflect, count
- 31:55Speaker 1: your blessings, say prayers. have certain individuals, whether you know
- 32:03Speaker 1: them or not, um, in your heart, on your mind
- 32:06Speaker 1: and in your prayers, but don't sit around and stare
- 32:11Speaker 1: at the wall with loss of hope and despair because
- 32:16Speaker 1: of all of the insanity that is going on in
- 32:20Speaker 1: our world. Take a deep breath and focus on the
- 32:25Speaker 1: here and now what is in front of you. Um,
- 32:30Speaker 1: That old man walking down the street who maybe could
- 32:33Speaker 1: use a hello and a smile. That's where at least
- 32:39Speaker 1: I think you should have your priorities this week. If
- 32:45Speaker 1: there's a business that you go to and you are
- 32:51Speaker 1: treated well, whether it's a restaurant, whether it's a hardware store,
- 33:00Speaker 1: car dealership, oil change, pet food supply store, whatever it is,
- 33:09Speaker 1: if you are out this week and you have a
- 33:11Speaker 1: positive experience, take a minute, take that experience and post
- 33:20Speaker 1: it on your social media. Hey, I went to this place,
- 33:25Speaker 1: friendly service, great products, clean floors, a smile, a greeting.
- 33:36Speaker 1: You have a positive experience. Put it on social media
- 33:38Speaker 1: this week, no matter what. Just do it. There's plenty
- 33:43Speaker 1: to complain about. My God, I mean, just get on
- 33:46Speaker 1: Barry VT resident chat if you want to see some complaints.
- 33:50Speaker 1: There's a ton of them. They're a mile long. Barry
- 33:54Speaker 1: City resident chat as well. I say Put something positive
- 34:01Speaker 1: on your own social media. Maybe share it over to
- 34:04Speaker 1: one of those community pages also. Get involved with your community.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Go to a soccer game. Go to a football game.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Get out there. Support our youth. Support their coaching staff.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Support the refs. Thank referees. I don't care what sport
- 34:29Speaker 1: it is. I don't care where it is. If you
- 34:32Speaker 1: see a ref that's at the end of a game
- 34:36Speaker 1: or even before a game, if they've got black and
- 34:40Speaker 1: white stripes on or not, thank them for volunteering and
- 34:48Speaker 1: dealing with so many adults who can get very passionate. again,
- 35:02Speaker 1: tip of the hat to Jet Service Envelope, Nancy and
- 35:07Speaker 1: Mitchell Manning, Richard Wobby, Dan Fecteau, and, of course, Seth
- 35:15Speaker 1: and Sophie over at Lighthouse Hill Farm in Williamstown for
- 35:20Speaker 1: donating so many pumpkins that have all made their way
- 35:25Speaker 1: into my trailer and my truck and and are being
- 35:31Speaker 1: delivered still. We had almost 200 yesterday that were delivered
- 35:37Speaker 1: over to the students at the Waits River Valley School
- 35:41Speaker 1: who are going to be carving these pumpkins for Carving
- 35:43Speaker 1: for K. And as I said, as I kind of
- 35:49Speaker 1: alluded to earlier, I am going to be making some
- 35:55Speaker 1: phone calls here the second I get off the air
- 35:58Speaker 1: and also trying to, um, plan out some logistics here
- 36:06Speaker 1: on carving after these jack lanterns are carved up, uh,
- 36:13Speaker 1: getting them transported post carve. And as I spoke with, uh,
- 36:20Speaker 1: Ruthie a little bit last night, Ruthie weeks, um, If
- 36:26Speaker 1: there's anyone out there who is able to help out
- 36:30Speaker 1: with the donation of the fairy lights or any kind
- 36:36Speaker 1: of light that can go into these pumpkins, can't be
- 36:42Speaker 1: candles for obvious reasons, safety being the big one. They've
- 36:50Speaker 1: got to be like lights, like solar lights or something
- 36:55Speaker 1: like that, tea lights. If you can help out in
- 36:58Speaker 1: that department, make a donation. I'll also be collecting those,
- 37:03Speaker 1: or you can just bring them directly to Carving4K. I'm
- 37:08Speaker 1: going to get the poster up here in just a
- 37:11Speaker 1: little bit. It's all over the page. But please, if
- 37:16Speaker 1: you can, help out. And if you can't, that's fine too.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Please come and enjoy Carving4K. the display of jack-o'-lanterns on
- 37:23Speaker 1: the 28th, 29th and 30th, right off Richardson road in Barry. Again,
- 37:32Speaker 1: watch for the poster. It's all over Facebook and you're
- 37:35Speaker 1: going to see a ton of it this week. I'm
- 37:37Speaker 1: going to be hitting it super hard. All right. Uh,
- 37:41Speaker 1: right now traffic looking pretty good. Um, just glance it here.
- 37:45Speaker 1: This is a Hartford 89 South, uh, Good moving here.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Nice sunny morning. Here's Brookfield. Hartford again. Brookfield again. Bethel.
- 37:58Speaker 1: A little bit of fog. Waterbury. Exit 10. Nice clean
- 38:05Speaker 1: roads this morning. Again, great shape. Here's South Burlington. Slow
- 38:13Speaker 1: the hell down if you're coming through there. Trust me. Waterbury.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Route 100. Yeah, all beautiful. Yeah. Still a little bit
- 38:22Speaker 1: of foliage hanging on here and there. Depends on where
- 38:25Speaker 1: you are. But for the most part, we're into stick season.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Birthdays today. Did I run them down? I can't remember.
- 38:34Speaker 1: I don't think I did. We got a couple here.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Not many. Yeah. Oh, Jasmine White. Yes. Happy birthday, Jazz.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Matt Marsh. Ryan Dussault. Tracy Alger. Brenda Lester. Lemuel, Lamoro, Brenda,
- 38:58Speaker 1: Kelly Witt, Joe Tuthill, Alyssa May, Jamie Parker, and James Richardson,
- 39:13Speaker 1: all on the birthday list today. As I said, as
- 39:17Speaker 1: I let off, we have a pick of the week today,
- 39:19Speaker 1: plenty of sunshine, temps right around 68 degrees. Got to
- 39:26Speaker 1: get a little spray foam in some areas, and that's
- 39:28Speaker 1: going to happen today. before the soccer game. 34 degrees
- 39:33Speaker 1: is what we were at just about maybe 35 right
- 39:37Speaker 1: now in Perry. But beautiful day today. Plenty of sunshine.
- 39:42Speaker 1: No excuse now. That includes you, Glenn. Get your ass
- 39:45Speaker 1: out of the house. Get some fresh air today. No
- 39:47Speaker 1: matter where you are, just do it. Take in a
- 39:50Speaker 1: breath of fresh air. This may be your last opportunity
- 39:53Speaker 1: to breathe air that is reasonably, a reasonable temperature. 68,
- 40:07Speaker 1: it's almost 70. We could break records in the Champlain Valley.
- 40:11Speaker 1: We'll see. Let's see. Clear skies 37 tonight. Frost on
- 40:15Speaker 1: the pumpkin for sure. Sunny tomorrow and 60 degrees. Another
- 40:20Speaker 1: beautiful day. And again, as I said, the rest of
- 40:23Speaker 1: the week, same story on Wednesday and Thursday for the
- 40:25Speaker 1: most part. It's going to be real, real nice. Lots
- 40:28Speaker 1: to get to. We're going to do it. We've got
- 40:30Speaker 1: a busy week. I hope you're going to be buckled
- 40:33Speaker 1: up and with me for it. Have a marvelous rest
- 40:36Speaker 1: of your day. Take good care. of one another, especially
- 40:39Speaker 1: your neighbors. Check on them. Make sure they're okay. Make
- 40:41Speaker 1: sure that, you know, if they're running the wood stove,
- 40:48Speaker 1: that they've had their chimney cleaned and they're good to go. Yes.
- 40:57Speaker 1: And Stacy, we want some video of that next SpaceX
- 41:03Speaker 1: launch down there in Fort Pierce. Be well. Take good care.
- 41:07Speaker 1: God bless. 20 towns. That's where I'm going. I'm hitting
- 41:14Speaker 1: 20 different towns for the 20 stores in 20 days tour. 20.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Off to another one. It doesn't stop. It's 20 consecutive
- 41:29Speaker 1: days of featuring a different country store in Vermont. It's
- 41:35Speaker 1: all over the Aired Out page. Thanks for joining us
- 41:39Speaker 1: on the tour. Man, it was fun getting to the
- 41:42Speaker 1: Elmore store. We got another one coming up at noon
- 41:45Speaker 1: today right here where we are now, Aired Out. Thank you.
