- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast. Today we were joined
- 0:09Speaker 2: by Jason and Molly, the stars of this episode and
- 0:12Speaker 2: stars within it, and beloved people, the goats within Bacheloration
- 0:16Speaker 2: some would call them. They're gonna be here to day
- 0:18Speaker 2: to break down this episode of gen season of The Bachelorette,
- 0:21Speaker 2: Jason Erlik calls you and asks you to host this date.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Did you have any say in the concept of the date?
- 0:29Speaker 3: No? I mean, you know, it's funny.
- 0:31Speaker 4: They called up and they're like, hey, we're thinking about
- 0:33Speaker 4: doing a radio show date. I'm like, oh my god,
- 0:35Speaker 4: that's similar to what we did on the show, you know,
- 0:38Speaker 4: fifteen years ago.
- 0:39Speaker 3: They're like, oh, really, like they.
- 0:41Speaker 5: Forget they realized exact same date on.
- 0:43Speaker 4: I was like, are you guys going to call the
- 0:45Speaker 4: guy who hosted it, who Molly's former co host named Bender?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Are you gonna call him? And they're like, damn no.
- 0:51Speaker 4: We like they had no idea, so luckily, like we're
- 0:54Speaker 4: able to kind of run through and make reintroductions to people.
- 0:57Speaker 4: So not that we help plan it, but I think
- 1:00Speaker 4: we helped get Bender.
- 1:01Speaker 3: On the show a little bit.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Yeah, because they were going to use the other guy
- 1:04Speaker 4: who's on there. His name is Jubil, who's a big
- 1:06Speaker 4: kind of national guy. They were going to him, and
- 1:08Speaker 4: Bender loves this stuff. You get to kick out of it.
- 1:10Speaker 4: So I think we were able to piece some things
- 1:12Speaker 4: together to make it more fun for everybody.
- 1:14Speaker 5: Yeah, but otherwise no, we have no say.
- 1:16Speaker 2: And you know, I do want to kind of briefly
- 1:21Speaker 2: run through the whole episode with the two of you,
- 1:22Speaker 2: because you have seen the whole episode at this point,
- 1:25Speaker 2: but to kind of finish the first couple thoughts on
- 1:27Speaker 2: the date did they give you? Because I've hosted a
- 1:30Speaker 2: couple of dates for them. They usually give you a
- 1:32Speaker 2: little bit of a run around on who the guys
- 1:34Speaker 2: are and what you should expect, but it's not extensive.
- 1:38Speaker 2: The details have never like I've never been able to
- 1:40Speaker 2: make sense of the characters until you watch it maybe
- 1:43Speaker 2: the season back and like, okay, now that makes sense
- 1:45Speaker 2: of what they were telling me. How much prep did
- 1:47Speaker 2: they give you going into that day on who was
- 1:50Speaker 2: coming and what they were like?
- 1:52Speaker 5: They gave us a rundown of all of the guys coming.
- 1:54Speaker 5: They I mean, the biggest thing they honed in on
- 1:58Speaker 5: is that she was obsessed.
- 1:59Speaker 4: With say, so, my recollection is we didn't get a
- 2:02Speaker 4: rundown until we walked into the studio, like right before,
- 2:06Speaker 4: and they have like just pictures of each guy and
- 2:08Speaker 4: this is like maybe an hour before we start filming,
- 2:10Speaker 4: and we're like, Okay, there's that guy. He's gonna be
- 2:13Speaker 4: sitting over there, that guy's gonna be here, what's sitting
- 2:15Speaker 4: over there? And like, but when they walk in, I
- 2:16Speaker 4: think we know some of their faces. And then we
- 2:19Speaker 4: talked to Jen a little bit before they before we
- 2:22Speaker 4: start rolling, and that's where we kind of figured out
- 2:25Speaker 4: like who Sam was and who the other guys were.
- 2:27Speaker 5: But it's surprising to me, and I don't know why surprising.
- 2:29Speaker 5: I know how the show works, but they they really
- 2:32Speaker 5: were like she is obsessed with him, she loves him,
- 2:34Speaker 5: she can't get him out of her head. But then
- 2:36Speaker 5: watching the season up to this point, they don't make
- 2:39Speaker 5: it seem like that. So editing is a tricky, funny thing.
- 2:43Speaker 4: You know.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Well, they also told me, and I don't know if
- 2:46Speaker 5: you're remem of us, and I'm not going to say
- 2:47Speaker 5: his name because I don't know what they told me.
- 2:49Speaker 5: Someone else in the group was more of like the
- 2:51Speaker 5: villain that people were getting in fights with, and that's
- 2:54Speaker 5: not at all how it's being presented on the show.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Yeah, and I'm not sure your process of like how
- 2:58Speaker 4: you want to go through the show, but I will say,
- 3:00Speaker 4: based on her conversation with us producer's conversation with us,
- 3:06Speaker 4: I can't believe it went the way it did. Like
- 3:08Speaker 4: I thought she was all in on this guy and
- 3:10Speaker 4: he was hometown days for for sure, and like, I
- 3:13Speaker 4: like watching it last night. We just watched it last night.
- 3:15Speaker 4: I was like, I mean I knew that at the end,
- 3:17Speaker 4: like he wasn't gonna be the right fit. But I'm like,
- 3:19Speaker 4: she loved this guy. And within twelve hours she was gone,
- 3:23Speaker 4: or maybe twenty four hours he had gone.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I was like, what the heck happened?
- 3:27Speaker 2: You're getting produced?
- 3:28Speaker 6: How does it?
- 3:30Speaker 2: How does it feel to get produced? To get it?
- 3:34Speaker 2: You're gonna produce real hard.
- 3:36Speaker 4: But she also liked him, Like she walked in and
- 3:39Speaker 4: we were like, okay, come on, just tell us who
- 3:40Speaker 4: do you like And she's like Sam Sam Sam, Sam
- 3:42Speaker 4: Sam Sam, And I'm like, okay, like let's dig into Sam.
- 3:45Speaker 5: But at the same time, when they when we gave
- 3:47Speaker 5: them like they're alone time the two of them to talk.
- 3:49Speaker 5: We were still in the room. We both walked out.
- 3:52Speaker 5: We saw her face change mid conversation, like you could
- 3:55Speaker 5: almost see the light bulb go off in her head
- 3:58Speaker 5: where it's like this guy, ain't it interesting?
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that's shocking. Okay, I want to continue this conversation,
- 4:05Speaker 2: but let's start at the beginning, because we do have
- 4:07Speaker 2: an episode of Breakdown and I don't want to keep
- 4:09Speaker 2: you guys all day. Jin and the men are in
- 4:11Speaker 2: Seattle this week, obviously because we have Jason and Molly
- 4:14Speaker 2: here with us helping break down this week's episode. Jason
- 4:19Speaker 2: and Molly, Hey, you live in Seattle, so this was
- 4:23Speaker 2: just a ratic around the corner for you too.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that's like old hat.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, I mean actually in the radio station where
- 4:30Speaker 4: Molly used to work.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's a super cool piece of information. I
- 4:34Speaker 2: didn't think I realized that you did radio for seven years,
- 4:37Speaker 2: but that was the radio station, so it felt at
- 4:39Speaker 2: home for you to go back and host a date there.
- 4:41Speaker 5: Yeah, all the people in the building, my boss.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Who helped set all this up, Molly's chest pumping, everybody
- 4:46Speaker 3: else walk the door.
- 4:49Speaker 2: She's always the star of the show, Jason, No, wonder
- 4:52Speaker 2: you don't watch it. He's just kind of the goat.
- 4:55Speaker 2: She's the goat. We start out this episode with a
- 4:58Speaker 2: scene of charity in gin to Together. Charity is probably
- 5:01Speaker 2: a breath of fresh air for Jim. I'm assuming Jason,
- 5:04Speaker 2: when you were the Bachelor, did any past bachelor's come
- 5:07Speaker 2: on your season?
- 5:11Speaker 4: No, when I was on the Batch, when I was
- 5:14Speaker 4: on the Bachelorette, the girl who was the Bachelorette. No, No,
- 5:17Speaker 4: when I was the bachelor in New Zealand, the girl
- 5:20Speaker 4: who I was on the batch, she came, and I
- 5:21Speaker 4: think they wanted to bring some drama into it, and
- 5:24Speaker 4: she was just there for advice, but they made it
- 5:26Speaker 4: look like she was coming to try to get me back.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Had nothing to do that.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Well, we've mentioned that Jason, you haven't watched a lot
- 5:38Speaker 2: of this season, but Molly you have, and so going
- 5:41Speaker 2: into this episode, kind of what were you looking forward
- 5:45Speaker 2: to finding out about these guys before you got to
- 5:48Speaker 2: meet him actually in person. I mean, obviously Marcus has
- 5:50Speaker 2: the first one on one date. That's somebody that you know.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I think the viewership has been very excited about since
- 5:55Speaker 2: the beginning very intrigued by because he has been more reserved.
- 5:59Speaker 2: So anybody else that you're really excited to learn more
- 6:01Speaker 2: about this week?
- 6:05Speaker 5: Gosh. I mean there's so many guys that I don't
- 6:09Speaker 5: feel like they've developed very much. Like we knew nothing
- 6:14Speaker 5: about Spencer going into this, we knew nothing about Jeremy
- 6:18Speaker 5: going into this, Like they're kind of the whole season
- 6:21Speaker 5: has really been focused between Devin and Sam, So I mean, yeah,
- 6:27Speaker 5: I think I just we wanted to know more about
- 6:29Speaker 5: everyone other than.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Those two, don't you think when you were Also, when
- 6:33Speaker 4: you were in there, it was pretty obvious who the
- 6:35Speaker 4: good dudes were.
- 6:37Speaker 5: I mean, we'll get into our date. Jason and I
- 6:39Speaker 5: walked away from it and we were like, Okay, on
- 6:41Speaker 5: the count of three, say who your favorite was in
- 6:42Speaker 5: the room, and we both have the same answer.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:45Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I do think the show has had seasons going back
- 6:59Speaker 2: in for and Ashley and I are always very critical
- 7:02Speaker 2: but also very celibratory for the show because it has
- 7:04Speaker 2: brought us a lot of good things in life. I
- 7:06Speaker 2: do think what we're seeing in some of the most
- 7:09Speaker 2: recent seasons, not Joey's. I think Joey's was kind of
- 7:12Speaker 2: an anomaly here. The character building of the contestants has
- 7:18Speaker 2: been weak, Yeah, meaning we don't get to know much
- 7:20Speaker 2: about any of them, but when we do, we get
- 7:23Speaker 2: tied in because we root for him or I mean
- 7:26Speaker 2: most of the time we're just rooting for him. There's
- 7:28Speaker 2: very few people from Joe's season we were ever cheering against.
- 7:31Speaker 2: It's just you get to know their stories.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Is that intentional that they're not doing the character stuff
- 7:35Speaker 4: you think or the character development?
- 7:37Speaker 2: I would assume it's not, because I think the show
- 7:39Speaker 2: knows they want to do that. My assumption is that
- 7:42Speaker 2: they don't have the contestants that actually have the ability
- 7:45Speaker 2: to do it, meaning they're not as open, they're more reserved,
- 7:50Speaker 2: they're not great in the itms, they're not kind of
- 7:52Speaker 2: they're maybe a little more on edge. Typically up until
- 7:57Speaker 2: this season, I would have blamed it on the lead
- 7:59Speaker 2: for not bringing that out in them, But I think
- 8:01Speaker 2: Jen is bringing out in them. I don't think they're
- 8:03Speaker 2: reciprocating kind of that response on here's my story, here's
- 8:07Speaker 2: what I'm dealing with, Here's what I'm looking for. It's
- 8:08Speaker 2: just I think it's hard.
- 8:10Speaker 3: I don't even know, and like Jens, Jen was awesome.
- 8:12Speaker 4: We had a great time with her, but the producers
- 8:14Speaker 4: also said, like from their perspective.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Generally having a hard time getting pulling.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Stuff out of her.
- 8:19Speaker 4: They thought Jen was being a little bit more close
- 8:21Speaker 4: and I again, I only have one episode to watch him.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Like, man, she looks great, right, she's doing great on
- 8:25Speaker 3: this thing.
- 8:26Speaker 4: But like what they had said up to the point
- 8:27Speaker 4: when we met them was it was more challenging for them.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and that makes sense.
- 8:32Speaker 5: So good in the episode to see more of Marcus
- 8:34Speaker 5: and like hear more of his personal family life. I mean,
- 8:37Speaker 5: they just teed him up if he wants to be
- 8:40Speaker 5: a bachelor, Like holy hell, I.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Mean I watched one episode and I'm like, if he
- 8:43Speaker 4: the only reason if he's not the bachelor he is
- 8:45Speaker 4: if he says.
- 8:46Speaker 2: No, yeah, I mean this episode or he gets chosen.
- 8:50Speaker 2: But like, yeah, this episode was it was I'd say,
- 8:55Speaker 2: I don't know how to the adjective maybe shocking to
- 8:58Speaker 2: me because we don't know a lot about him, but
- 8:59Speaker 2: we do know that he know he served, he's a veteran,
- 9:01Speaker 2: He's gone through a bunch of stuff, and he's he's
- 9:04Speaker 2: mentioned that, but he has been more reserved in every
- 9:06Speaker 2: other moment other than when he's like opened up at
- 9:08Speaker 2: the very beginning of the season. This episode he shares
- 9:12Speaker 2: his story, and his story is one where I'm sitting
- 9:16Speaker 2: here at my desk as I watch the episode and
- 9:20Speaker 2: I'm you know, I wrote a whole book on loneliness
- 9:22Speaker 2: and why you know, on connection, and I'm like, this
- 9:24Speaker 2: guy has a story that so many people are gonna
- 9:27Speaker 2: benefit from because it's an incredible story and he's come
- 9:30Speaker 2: through it and now you see him on national television.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I hope again, like I can't imagine going through
- 9:36Speaker 4: something like he did, but like that was the.
- 9:39Speaker 1: For me.
- 9:40Speaker 4: That's the reason to watch the show. Like the drama
- 9:41Speaker 4: and all that kind of stuff. I hope people enjoy it,
- 9:43Speaker 4: but like seeing a character or human like that that
- 9:46Speaker 4: has accomplished and could come over so much stuff.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Yeah, he's awesome.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Well, the two of you could probably because I just
- 9:54Speaker 2: jobbing down some notes. The two of you could probably
- 9:56Speaker 2: attest to this. It's pretty wild to me and one
- 9:59Speaker 2: of my favorite parts watching the show at this point.
- 10:01Speaker 2: You know, a lot of these people are a lot
- 10:02Speaker 2: younger than me. Life has moved on for me. But
- 10:06Speaker 2: the thing that always this show does when it's good is.
- 10:08Speaker 2: It reminds me of the value of human story and
- 10:11Speaker 2: that everybody has a story. And I'm sure coming off
- 10:14Speaker 2: of your seasons when you were on the show, there
- 10:16Speaker 2: were moments where you're looking around being like, these are
- 10:18Speaker 2: some incredible people and they've all been through something. Yeah,
- 10:23Speaker 2: and that's to me something special to watch well.
- 10:25Speaker 4: And I know, even thinking about like my story, I know,
- 10:28Speaker 4: really the only reason that they wanted me was the
- 10:30Speaker 4: single dad, you know, divorce guy. And granted, like I
- 10:34Speaker 4: hope people like me other than that, but I know,
- 10:36Speaker 4: like when we were going through casting for The Batcher
- 10:39Speaker 4: and they were pretty transparent with me, like who they
- 10:41Speaker 4: were also considering, but like, I think it was the
- 10:44Speaker 4: whole story of like this guy and his kid.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean, and it's this relatable story.
- 10:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I'm sure at the time too, that story was a
- 10:54Speaker 2: little like shocking for them to want to put on
- 10:57Speaker 2: because that hadn't been done before. They were you know,
- 11:00Speaker 2: walking down a very easy line up until that point,
- 11:02Speaker 2: and you know, it pushed the boundary a little bit.
- 11:05Speaker 2: But Marcus's story just is heartwarming and he's obviously getting
- 11:08Speaker 2: the Rose, but as you said, if he's not chosen
- 11:10Speaker 2: and if he says yes to it, there's zero chance
- 11:13Speaker 2: he's not the Bachelor, right, I know.
- 11:15Speaker 4: I mean zero, Like I think his story and again
- 11:18Speaker 4: like he comes like I think he's probably as authentic
- 11:21Speaker 4: as he comes across. But to kind of crack open
- 11:25Speaker 4: that story even more, like how could you not love
- 11:28Speaker 4: that guy?
- 11:29Speaker 2: Everybody's got a root for him. So he does get
- 11:32Speaker 2: the rose, he's moving on to hometowns. He's a lock,
- 11:35Speaker 2: He's at the top of our list, he's a favorite.
- 11:38Speaker 2: And then we have a group date. We have a
- 11:40Speaker 2: group date that Jeremy is very hope, very he's very
- 11:43Speaker 2: much hoping he doesn't go on because he's the only
- 11:45Speaker 2: one without a one on one date up until this point.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I thought that there was a reason for that. My
- 11:51Speaker 2: mind was changed after his date. But the group date happens,
- 11:55Speaker 2: and the names on the list of the men who
- 11:57Speaker 2: are going on the group date are Spencer, Jonathan, Sam, Devin,
- 12:03Speaker 2: and Grant, and Jen says, I want I love that
- 12:08Speaker 2: listens now it's an interesting note card. I don't really
- 12:13Speaker 2: know what that means, but Jason Emala, you do know
- 12:15Speaker 2: what that means. And so what we find is that
- 12:19Speaker 2: they show up to a radio station that you're both
- 12:20Speaker 2: at that you're hosting this date, and you've mentioned your
- 12:23Speaker 2: two co hosts that are in the room with you
- 12:25Speaker 2: as well. What was your hope for this date? Well,
- 12:29Speaker 2: I mean, I know, when you host a date, you
- 12:31Speaker 2: obviously are kind of told, hey, this is how it's
- 12:32Speaker 2: going to work, and this was going to go on.
- 12:34Speaker 2: But you also have some freedom to get something out
- 12:36Speaker 2: of this date that you want as the host of
- 12:38Speaker 2: the date. What were the two of you wanting for
- 12:40Speaker 2: this date?
- 12:40Speaker 5: Well, I think first of all, this is a really
- 12:44Speaker 5: tricky type of date because you are forcing these guys
- 12:48Speaker 5: to express their feelings for Jen in front of one another.
- 12:52Speaker 5: And it's not like they're doing it in a funny
- 12:54Speaker 5: way where it's like a song or a dance or
- 12:56Speaker 5: like a comedy show like they've done in the past.
- 12:58Speaker 5: It was like you needed to share your real, true
- 13:00Speaker 5: feelings about her in a serious way with everyone else
- 13:03Speaker 5: that lives with you in the same room. So I
- 13:06Speaker 5: get that it could be really uncomfortable. Jen made the
- 13:09Speaker 5: comment like, I feel like it's a who loves Jen
- 13:11Speaker 5: competition more And that's truly how it felt when we
- 13:15Speaker 5: were in that room. It's like everyone was trying to
- 13:17Speaker 5: one up the next person.
- 13:19Speaker 4: I always like, like, my hope was like trying to
- 13:23Speaker 4: figure her out, whether it was on camera or off camera,
- 13:25Speaker 4: because you know, we filmed for outs, right, and they
- 13:27Speaker 4: give you ten minutes on camera or they So my
- 13:30Speaker 4: hope was to find somebody who identify somebody who was
- 13:33Speaker 4: a good guy, right, like especially the era being so
- 13:37Speaker 4: different now where people are trying to get more followers
- 13:39Speaker 4: and Instagram and all that kind of stuff, like to
- 13:41Speaker 4: see like who looks at you in the eye when
- 13:44Speaker 4: they're talking to you, right, Who isn't a complete douche bag?
- 13:48Speaker 3: Like who who.
- 13:49Speaker 5: Really is saying what they think she wants to hear.
- 13:53Speaker 5: There was one very clear winner in that room for
- 13:57Speaker 5: being genuine and how.
- 13:58Speaker 3: They spoke none you can tell them who was it?
- 14:02Speaker 5: Hey, let's have you guess who do you think? We
- 14:04Speaker 5: walked away and we were like that dude is in
- 14:06Speaker 5: this for real.
- 14:07Speaker 3: We love him and we and the one of the
- 14:09Speaker 3: producers said the same thing afterwards.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Yeah, my first guess is Jonathan.
- 14:13Speaker 5: Yep, without without a doubt. When we would ask him questions,
- 14:17Speaker 5: he wouldn't respond to us. He would look straight at
- 14:20Speaker 5: Jen and as if he was talking to her and
- 14:22Speaker 5: no one else was in the room. It was amazing.
- 14:24Speaker 4: And he's also those type of guys where if you're
- 14:26Speaker 4: having a conversation he'll ask you something where like and
- 14:29Speaker 4: I know, you get.
- 14:30Speaker 3: To this with Sam, it's like me, me, me, me me.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Jonathan was the complete opposite out of editing editing or not.
- 14:36Speaker 4: That was just like, hey, let me ask you a question,
- 14:38Speaker 4: super thoughtful.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Super good.
- 14:40Speaker 5: He was amazing. We walked away and were like, he's awesome.
- 14:43Speaker 2: So he was easily when you guys got in the
- 14:45Speaker 2: car and you said one, two, three, who's your favorite Jonathan.
- 14:49Speaker 4: Without a doubt, Like it's not like if they're attracted
- 14:51Speaker 4: to do each other and all that kind of stuff,
- 14:53Speaker 4: but just like as good as you can me.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Yeah, because at this point too, you're hosting a date
- 14:57Speaker 2: and there is no way for you to watch the
- 15:00Speaker 2: episodes before and so you don't No matter what, you
- 15:02Speaker 2: wouldn't have known anything about these guys leading up to
- 15:05Speaker 2: that day because they're filming a show.
- 15:06Speaker 4: I mean a little bit like they were telling like
- 15:08Speaker 4: where they did, where they just came from, and that
- 15:10Speaker 4: kind of stuff. But other than that, we had I
- 15:12Speaker 4: mean just their pictures on our on our desk.
- 15:15Speaker 7: Yeah, it was interesting, just the environment of the date
- 15:21Speaker 7: where you have to kind of, you know, speak your
- 15:23Speaker 7: love for her and there you've watched this season.
- 15:27Speaker 5: There's a lot of smooth talkers on this season. Yeah, right,
- 15:31Speaker 5: And so not knowing any of the backstory of any
- 15:34Speaker 5: of these guys and how the first few weeks have gone,
- 15:37Speaker 5: I just kind of sat there internally smirking, like, God,
- 15:41Speaker 5: you're full of shit.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Yes, you didn't say it. Why didn't you say it?
- 15:46Speaker 5: Well, I don't want to make anyone feel bad, and
- 15:48Speaker 5: I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. But like, I
- 15:52Speaker 5: like that I could, I could see straight through some
- 15:54Speaker 5: of these guys.
- 15:56Speaker 4: But you were also like Mollie's got an interesting perspective
- 15:58Speaker 4: because she was a radio host. She's hosting this thing
- 16:01Speaker 4: and you almost got back into work mode. Yeah maybe right,
- 16:04Speaker 4: So she was able to take her seven or eight
- 16:07Speaker 4: years of experience in radio. There was two other radio
- 16:09Speaker 4: hosts there, so they were in this position where it
- 16:11Speaker 4: was very normal, and these guys won.
- 16:14Speaker 3: They think they're on the radio show, right.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Which is so they may they may be saying stuff
- 16:18Speaker 4: outside of TV. They think they're live on the air
- 16:20Speaker 4: in Seattle are going to be live on the airon
- 16:22Speaker 4: Seattle and they have no idea what's going on. So
- 16:24Speaker 4: it was almost unfit. Like it was three radio hosts against.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Yeah, that's true.
- 16:28Speaker 3: They're losing.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Yeah, what was your role in that? Jason? Like, you're
- 16:32Speaker 2: obviously worried there was three radio hosts in you?
- 16:35Speaker 4: Oh, you have no like like there was a like,
- 16:38Speaker 4: you know, sometimes you have to re record something and
- 16:40Speaker 4: they don't like. So they had asked me to say
- 16:42Speaker 4: something to all the guys in there and about who
- 16:45Speaker 4: I'm picking and all this stuff, and we shoot it
- 16:47Speaker 4: and I'm like, fucking nail that shit, right, I'm super pumped.
- 16:50Speaker 4: And they're like, hey, would it be easier if you
- 16:53Speaker 4: do it again? Or Molly just says it.
- 16:56Speaker 3: I was like, I know my role, Litz ever her
- 16:59Speaker 3: do it.
- 17:01Speaker 5: You did a good job of talking, like normally I
- 17:04Speaker 5: kind of take over and hijack interviews and all of that.
- 17:07Speaker 5: Good job getting some words in.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I try to say five words total in five hours.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Would it be easier for Molly just to do or
- 17:14Speaker 2: do you want to try that again? Jason, You're the best. Okay, Well,
- 17:19Speaker 2: obviously the viewership is going to watch this date and
- 17:23Speaker 2: see that the big storyline is Sam. Right, these other
- 17:26Speaker 2: guys they did their thing, they played along, they answered
- 17:29Speaker 2: the questions. Like you said, it was an awkward environment
- 17:32Speaker 2: because you are asking all of them to express their
- 17:34Speaker 2: feelings towards Jin in front of each other, which I
- 17:36Speaker 2: think is so unhealthy on this show and something you
- 17:38Speaker 2: try to never do. But you two hosted a date
- 17:41Speaker 2: that set them up for that. But Sam, is there
- 17:44Speaker 2: really the storyline that comes out of this? So when
- 17:47Speaker 2: it comes to Sam, did you feel like, as you
- 17:51Speaker 2: were hosts of the show that it was an accurate
- 17:54Speaker 2: portrayal watching the episode back of how he was or
- 18:00Speaker 2: was it an inaccurate portrayal and editing really caused this
- 18:04Speaker 2: whole thing to go a mess.
- 18:06Speaker 5: I think it was entirely accurate. There was so much
- 18:10Speaker 5: more that people didn't even see. Sam. Devin said it perfectly.
- 18:17Speaker 5: There's Sam says so many words, and he talks so much,
- 18:22Speaker 5: but it says if nothing's coming out of his mouth,
- 18:24Speaker 5: like he just rambles and rambles and rambles, and there
- 18:26Speaker 5: was no meat to what he was saying and he
- 18:28Speaker 5: couldn't really get his thoughts out. What I will say
- 18:32Speaker 5: is like we're not going to sit here in bash Sam,
- 18:34Speaker 5: like he's getting a really bad edit this season. I
- 18:38Speaker 5: think this show in this environment either makes someone flourish
- 18:42Speaker 5: or it makes them flounder. And I think he is
- 18:45Speaker 5: maybe someone who this environment isn't good for him. I
- 18:48Speaker 5: think he was more maybe wrapped up in the competition
- 18:51Speaker 5: aspect of it and winning and wasn't really like allowing
- 18:56Speaker 5: himself to feel.
- 18:57Speaker 4: I disagree a little bit, meaning like I think the
- 19:01Speaker 4: competition part of Sam for sure, And but I think
- 19:03Speaker 4: she was she loved Like we sat there and filmed
- 19:07Speaker 4: for hours.
- 19:08Speaker 3: One of those hours was just.
- 19:09Speaker 4: At one point it was just Molly and I, Jen
- 19:12Speaker 4: and Sam in the room and they were talking, they
- 19:14Speaker 4: were playing games.
- 19:15Speaker 3: They like the kiss that they showed was like fifteen seconds.
- 19:20Speaker 5: Yeah, it's super awkward to be in that room.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Like she was so she.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Is so attracted to him. She was, and I think, yes,
- 19:29Speaker 3: said the attraction piece of Sam.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Yes, Sam's like this former athlete. There were things that
- 19:33Speaker 4: Sam said that like they had to edit out.
- 19:35Speaker 3: They were so terrible. We can't even talk about that.
- 19:37Speaker 4: But I will say, like I think and I can't
- 19:40Speaker 4: figure out what happened because I would like if I
- 19:43Speaker 4: didn't expect Sam to win, but I expected Sam to
- 19:45Speaker 4: get a hometown date for sure. Something else must have happened,
- 19:48Speaker 4: And I know there's the production aspect, like they may
- 19:51Speaker 4: have told her. Let me give you example, they may
- 19:53Speaker 4: have told her about something that really set her off.
- 19:57Speaker 4: And I'll give you one example that happened to me.
- 19:59Speaker 4: I remember I was on a date back in Black
- 20:02Speaker 4: and White TV with a girl who was on the show,
- 20:04Speaker 4: and I was They initially said, hey, we need you
- 20:08Speaker 4: to go on a date with somebody that you know
- 20:09Speaker 4: you're going to send home later that day.
- 20:11Speaker 3: So that was the plan, and I was like, Okay,
- 20:13Speaker 3: this sucks. This is how the show works.
- 20:15Speaker 4: So I go on the date and halfway through the date,
- 20:16Speaker 4: I'm like I really like it, Like she's awesome, and
- 20:19Speaker 4: they're like, hey, mesnik, she's a full time smoker. What
- 20:22Speaker 4: do you think now, right? So they knew that I
- 20:25Speaker 4: had a kid, and like in like, you got in
- 20:27Speaker 4: my head and I'm not picking somebody who smokes full time.
- 20:29Speaker 3: That's not my thing.
- 20:30Speaker 4: So they got into my head and they knew that
- 20:32Speaker 4: I was going to send her home because of that comment.
- 20:34Speaker 3: I feel like.
- 20:35Speaker 4: There's something that was said that set her off because
- 20:37Speaker 4: she was so in like before she walked in, when
- 20:39Speaker 4: Sam was before all the guys walked in, it was
- 20:41Speaker 4: like Sam Sam Sam, Sam helped me get to know
- 20:44Speaker 4: these other guys better. But by the way Sam Sam
- 20:47Speaker 4: Sam Sam.
- 20:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I think it's more something happened that she doesn't
- 20:50Speaker 5: give her anything. It doesn't say she asked him multiple times,
- 20:53Speaker 5: but why do you like me? But why do you
- 20:55Speaker 5: think you're in love with me? Why do you think
- 20:56Speaker 5: we're compoued? And he gives just words but there's nothing.
- 21:00Speaker 4: But I know, but that whole thing to me is
- 21:02Speaker 4: like everybody's saying that, And if everybody's saying that, that's
- 21:05Speaker 4: coming from somewhere, you're saying that because they were show
- 21:08Speaker 4: on the show last night.
- 21:09Speaker 5: Also, but I felt that when we were filmy, we're
- 21:11Speaker 5: having an argument on this podcast right now.
- 21:13Speaker 2: No, this is good.
- 21:14Speaker 5: This we were when we were filming, the two of
- 21:17Speaker 5: them had a Loane time and we were in there
- 21:19Speaker 5: with him. We had ear pieces in and Sam. They
- 21:23Speaker 5: would ask each other a question. Sam was rambling on
- 21:25Speaker 5: for so long. They'd be like, Molly, cut him off
- 21:28Speaker 5: and ask another question, tell him to stop talking and
- 21:30Speaker 5: ask another question. He just kept going and going and
- 21:33Speaker 5: going and going.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Well, that can be also nerves. And again I don't
- 21:36Speaker 4: think Sam's near Again. I want to like, he's not
- 21:39Speaker 4: nearly as bad as they're bay saying. He's got some stuff.
- 21:42Speaker 4: I'm sure like, and I think what he wanted more
- 21:44Speaker 4: than anything is like and maybe Jen's not the right person.
- 21:47Speaker 4: He does want to be with somebody. He wants to
- 21:49Speaker 4: get married. He wants that and he probably saw it
- 21:51Speaker 4: right in front of him and it.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Just wasn't working out for him.
- 21:54Speaker 5: Well, he's foot in mouth moments where he's like I
- 21:58Speaker 5: thought it was going to be Daisy or Maria.
- 22:00Speaker 2: A point I was going to bring up where it's like, Okay,
- 22:02Speaker 2: no matter what we say about Sam, I'm not here
- 22:04Speaker 2: to bash him. But like, there are some things that
- 22:06Speaker 2: he was saying that you're like, hey, that's there's just
- 22:10Speaker 2: no way to get around what that you just said
- 22:12Speaker 2: that he thought it was.
- 22:13Speaker 4: And I will say, like, there are things that didn't
- 22:14Speaker 4: make it on the air that will never ever be
- 22:17Speaker 4: said by anybody.
- 22:18Speaker 3: No, It's like that was a.
- 22:19Speaker 5: Moment where I was just like, oh my god, I
- 22:21Speaker 5: can't believe you just said that.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it cannot make Jin feel good. And
- 22:26Speaker 2: so the timeline is this you're saying that Jen came
- 22:29Speaker 2: in and it's Sam Sam Sam Sam is somebody your
- 22:33Speaker 2: two are going to look out for. And then was
- 22:35Speaker 2: there a moment during this because we're watching it as
- 22:38Speaker 2: viewers and we're going, this is getting awkward. There are
- 22:41Speaker 2: things that he's saying that if you know we were dating,
- 22:43Speaker 2: you know, I would definitely been thrown off by or
- 22:45Speaker 2: had a thousand questions to dig into, or just maybe
- 22:48Speaker 2: said hey, this isn't working, like just got up and
- 22:50Speaker 2: walked away. Was there a moment during your date where
- 22:54Speaker 2: you felt like she realized this is maybe not the
- 22:58Speaker 2: guy that I thought he was.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I saw it. I saw it when she's when
- 23:03Speaker 5: they were having their alone time and he's talking and
- 23:05Speaker 5: she finally is like but why, but why do you
- 23:09Speaker 5: think it's me? That's where I was like, she's gone
- 23:11Speaker 5: to him.
- 23:13Speaker 4: I again, like I know that that happened, But that's
- 23:15Speaker 4: coming straight from a producer, Like I went through this
- 23:17Speaker 4: with you on the show specifically, I had problems with
- 23:20Speaker 4: you not opening up, and the producers are like.
- 23:23Speaker 2: This is why I want to get it.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Can't continue until she opens up because you were introverted.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Yeah right, And there's something about Sam like and again
- 23:31Speaker 4: I get it, like he's not the right guy for her,
- 23:33Speaker 4: But those questions specifically are coming from somewhere else.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Maybe Okay, she don't like my perspective.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I think these are great perspectives. This is why the
- 23:45Speaker 2: two of you thrived during your time podcast hosting together.
- 23:59Speaker 2: So the light ball went off. I do say there
- 24:02Speaker 2: is a personality trait that I always watch out for
- 24:06Speaker 2: every season. Anybody listens to this podcast knows what it is.
- 24:09Speaker 2: It's my biggest pet peeve in life. It's somebody that
- 24:12Speaker 2: describes themselves by, for example, by saying you're a selfless person.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I also am a selfless person. I just don't think
- 24:22Speaker 2: we as humans have the ability to actually describe ourselves
- 24:27Speaker 2: in that way. I think we need to leave that
- 24:29Speaker 2: up to somebody else to say, Hey, you know, you're
- 24:31Speaker 2: a very selfless person. You say thank you, Jason, same
- 24:35Speaker 2: to you, same to you, Molly. So you guys can
- 24:37Speaker 2: take that you're the goat Molly that you shouldn't hear that,
- 24:39Speaker 2: know that, And so that always feels like during the show,
- 24:43Speaker 2: and the reason it bothers me is because it always
- 24:45Speaker 2: does feel like it comes up in very important moments,
- 24:49Speaker 2: and it does make the conversation more focused on myself
- 24:53Speaker 2: than it does the other person. And that's really outside
- 24:57Speaker 2: of everything else with the you know, without doubling down
- 25:00Speaker 2: on Sam, what really felt like to me as a
- 25:03Speaker 2: viewer was most bothersome about this moment and your date
- 25:06Speaker 2: was that everything did come back to himself at some level.
- 25:10Speaker 2: It was never a curiosity or an intention of getting
- 25:14Speaker 2: knowing Jin better. It was more of I need to
- 25:16Speaker 2: get the words in about myself in this moment. Did
- 25:19Speaker 2: you guys feel that way when you're hosting it?
- 25:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that's a really good point, Like you're like, hey,
- 25:24Speaker 4: I'm really trustworthy and I'm honest person.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Well just be that way, don't you even't have to.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Say it right?
- 25:29Speaker 3: That's a bit. I mean, that's actually a really a
- 25:31Speaker 3: good point. Yeah, I mean I think that's showed through well.
- 25:35Speaker 2: The Sam Jin kind of fiasco is coming to a
- 25:41Speaker 2: head during your date. But then we obviously have another
- 25:43Speaker 2: one on one date to get to before we go
- 25:45Speaker 2: back to Sam and Jen. As we finish out this
- 25:47Speaker 2: episode of the podcast, we have a one on one
- 25:49Speaker 2: date with Jeremy. Jeremy is somebody that we really haven't
- 25:52Speaker 2: heard much about, we don't know much about, and I
- 25:55Speaker 2: really thought, quite frankly, that he was going home this episode.
- 25:58Speaker 2: I thought that was going to be a one on
- 25:59Speaker 2: one date. He's gone, what changed for you know, for
- 26:02Speaker 2: the two of you during this date to where you go, well, okay,
- 26:06Speaker 2: he actually is going to stick around.
- 26:08Speaker 5: Yeah. I don't know if I had that moment because
- 26:12Speaker 5: I too was like, well, we haven't seen him at all,
- 26:14Speaker 5: so they're setting him up to be the guy that
- 26:15Speaker 5: gets sent home on a one on one date, like
- 26:17Speaker 5: that's why he's getting it. I don't even know if
- 26:20Speaker 5: there was a moment for me. I was like, we
- 26:22Speaker 5: don't know anything about this guy. They're not really talking
- 26:24Speaker 5: about anything, or they're not showing them talking about anything important,
- 26:27Speaker 5: so like, I don't even know, that's a good question.
- 26:29Speaker 5: It was almost like when he was talking about his mom,
- 26:32Speaker 5: do you.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Remember, like and maybe I'm making this up. I thought.
- 26:35Speaker 4: I remember her saying like, I'm pretty sure I knew
- 26:37Speaker 4: who my three hometown kind of date, like she was
- 26:38Speaker 4: kind of getting to the point where she knew who
- 26:40Speaker 4: their three were for the hometown dates, but she didn't
- 26:42Speaker 4: know her fourth when we saw her. Yes, I like,
- 26:46Speaker 4: I have this memory of like some kind of conversation
- 26:48Speaker 4: around there, and maybe it was just like I don't
- 26:52Speaker 4: know who my fourth is, so like, and he really
- 26:54Speaker 4: earned that during the date, maybe because I do. I like,
- 26:57Speaker 4: I remember that from for my season. I'm like, i'
- 26:59Speaker 4: pretty sure I know him three, but I don't know
- 27:00Speaker 4: who the fourth is. I got to really dig into
- 27:02Speaker 4: this one.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I don't know, I would agree. I think that is
- 27:06Speaker 2: probably common that you're like, hey, i've got it solid
- 27:08Speaker 2: top three, but the fourth is kind of you know,
- 27:11Speaker 2: out there. However, Grant seemed to be far in a
- 27:15Speaker 2: way above Jeremy up until this week. In every episode,
- 27:18Speaker 2: there was never a chance where he was not going
- 27:20Speaker 2: to make the final four. And I think most people's opinions, yeah,
- 27:23Speaker 2: that was such.
- 27:24Speaker 5: A good shocking to us. We loved him when we
- 27:26Speaker 5: met him, and Riley, that is Riley's favorite. She's like,
- 27:30Speaker 5: if Grant's the Bachelor, I'm going on it.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Yeah, no, eleven year olds on it.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:36Speaker 3: And then he was funny.
- 27:40Speaker 2: I just don't know what happened there because he was
- 27:42Speaker 2: such a favorite. They had such a good connection. He
- 27:44Speaker 2: obviously opens up. Last week, he has a really sweet
- 27:46Speaker 2: moment with Marcus where he's like, dude, I'm sorry, I
- 27:49Speaker 2: have to tell you this. I just don't know have
- 27:50Speaker 2: anybody else to talk to, but like, I'm in love
- 27:51Speaker 2: with this girl, and Marcus like, hey, it's all good,
- 27:54Speaker 2: I got your back. Won't tell anybody, it's all It's
- 27:56Speaker 2: all fine. And then he's gone this week and we
- 27:59Speaker 2: don't really have a for it other than the fact
- 28:01Speaker 2: that Jeremy does kind of sneak in with this unexpected rose. Now,
- 28:05Speaker 2: their date was not not great. It was good. It
- 28:08Speaker 2: was a good date. They had a lot of really
- 28:09Speaker 2: tough conversations about you know, their their fath systems, their
- 28:13Speaker 2: faith traditions, where they come up in life, what they
- 28:15Speaker 2: desire for a family, how they navigate that together. Those
- 28:19Speaker 2: are very important conversations when you're looking to spend your
- 28:21Speaker 2: life with somebody. But still, I didn't feel like that
- 28:27Speaker 2: date pushed him to that place where I would be
- 28:29Speaker 2: seeing him next week.
- 28:30Speaker 4: But you know, can I tell you, like by watching
- 28:32Speaker 4: your first episode way midway through this season, Yeah, he
- 28:36Speaker 4: was great. He didn't surprise me at all. I think
- 28:39Speaker 4: he deserved to be there and we'll see what happened.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's he's a runner. He's my favorite.
- 28:44Speaker 3: He's my favorite now.
- 28:46Speaker 2: It's actually an interesting perspective. Yeah, without any like backstory
- 28:51Speaker 2: or watching this season that you know, you come in
- 28:54Speaker 2: you're like, No, that guy's great.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Yes, I see what didn't show up on her date.
- 28:57Speaker 3: He's my favorite now.
- 29:00Speaker 2: So you know, Jeremy does get the road, so that
- 29:02Speaker 2: means two people have the rows at this point, Marcus
- 29:04Speaker 2: and Jeremy. And we're getting to the end of this
- 29:06Speaker 2: episode where we see Jin come back into the hotel
- 29:10Speaker 2: that all the guys are staying pretty fired up. And
- 29:14Speaker 2: the confusion for me in this scene and in this
- 29:17Speaker 2: moment for Jin is I actually don't know why she's
- 29:19Speaker 2: fired up. Yes, it didn't feel like her and Sam
- 29:24Speaker 2: were connecting. Yes, it felt like the date that you
- 29:26Speaker 2: two hosted with Sam. It did feel like they were
- 29:29Speaker 2: on a communication miss most of the time. But it
- 29:33Speaker 2: does feel like to me when she comes back into
- 29:35Speaker 2: the room to find Sam, or back into the hotel
- 29:38Speaker 2: to find Sam, that like there's this like fire inside
- 29:40Speaker 2: of her. Do do you have any idea on where
- 29:44Speaker 2: that would be coming from, because for me, it feels
- 29:46Speaker 2: like it should have just been one of those moments
- 29:48Speaker 2: where she's like, I'm just confused. Sam. We got to talk,
- 29:51Speaker 2: but it feels like she's on a mission for something.
- 29:55Speaker 3: That's what I said.
- 29:55Speaker 5: That's a producer in our carpent in her.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Ear only because I've been there before and you don't
- 30:00Speaker 4: realize what's happening at the time.
- 30:02Speaker 3: And I could be totally wrong.
- 30:04Speaker 4: I mean we got produced again and like we've been
- 30:06Speaker 4: to this man.
- 30:09Speaker 3: That's what I mean.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Like there's something like I just don't we're not privy
- 30:14Speaker 4: to those conversations because like there's no way like she
- 30:16Speaker 4: went from like he's my number one I'm not saying
- 30:20Speaker 4: he was his number one, but like number one attraction,
- 30:23Speaker 4: like she can't get him physically to like being ousted
- 30:26Speaker 4: and mad at him that quickly.
- 30:28Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 30:28Speaker 5: It did seem a little like jarring, like whoa, you're
- 30:31Speaker 5: mad about something?
- 30:32Speaker 2: Yeah, And I thought she was gonna go and be like, hey, Sam,
- 30:35Speaker 2: you have a girlfriend back home, Like I thought, that's
- 30:37Speaker 2: what it felt like to me, where like this was
- 30:39Speaker 2: leading up to big revelation, but it wasn't. The two
- 30:41Speaker 2: of them just had to talk.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Remember, like she like storms out of there and she
- 30:46Speaker 4: needs to cool off, and I'm like, WHOA, Like this
- 30:48Speaker 4: escalated quickly.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Something changed, and you have to be right. Somebody got
- 30:53Speaker 2: in her ear. But it's not like they were getting
- 30:55Speaker 2: in her ear and telling her something that wasn't probably true.
- 30:58Speaker 2: They were just for sure bringing to light stuff that
- 31:01Speaker 2: she was not able to see up until this point.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Maybe maybe they told her what he said. Oh god, stop,
- 31:11Speaker 4: I know we'll never say it.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's just this mystery. I read it. I'm
- 31:15Speaker 2: sure if you go on read it in a couple
- 31:16Speaker 2: days they'll find out what happened. No, they're really good
- 31:19Speaker 2: at it. Okay, So she comes back out of the room,
- 31:23Speaker 2: she has to cool off. To summarize that whole long
- 31:26Speaker 2: back and forth, it's just more of what was existing
- 31:28Speaker 2: during your date. It's just the two of them. Well
- 31:31Speaker 2: mostly he's just talking past her. None of it's connecting.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Even when, like you, you're like, hey, she's teeming you
- 31:37Speaker 2: up for a very easy answer. The response was missing.
- 31:42Speaker 2: And I am going to go back to what Jason
- 31:44Speaker 2: said earlier because I do think this is true, and
- 31:46Speaker 2: I feel for any person in this scenario, good not
- 31:49Speaker 2: the right environment for him. We're not going to double
- 31:52Speaker 2: down on him and all the stuff that's gone on
- 31:53Speaker 2: all season for him already. I feel like in this moment,
- 31:56Speaker 2: what we really saw was that this dude is so
- 31:58Speaker 2: insanely nervous, probably coming based on some way he feels
- 32:04Speaker 2: about himself, because once the camera's on him, and once
- 32:07Speaker 2: the attention is on him, and once he's getting pushed
- 32:09Speaker 2: a little bit, like he has that catch in his throat,
- 32:12Speaker 2: he can't even speak.
- 32:13Speaker 4: That nervous cats. There's something ner he was super nervous about.
- 32:16Speaker 4: I mean, it's either allergies or nerves.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Ye, allergies their nerves. I would mean it could be both,
- 32:24Speaker 2: but it did feel like to me when I watched this,
- 32:27Speaker 2: this dude pushed, felt pushed up against the wall that
- 32:29Speaker 2: he couldn't get out of. He didn't know how to
- 32:31Speaker 2: answer anything well, he wasn't getting anywhere good. His smooth
- 32:36Speaker 2: talking had kind of come to an end, so that
- 32:39Speaker 2: wasn't gonna work, and he got very nervous, and it
- 32:43Speaker 2: felt like that's what caused the massive disconnect to where
- 32:45Speaker 2: he's ended up going home because he had no way out,
- 32:48Speaker 2: like there was no good path for him for.
- 32:52Speaker 4: I was still shock like, I like if he was
- 32:53Speaker 4: sitting there, wouldn't you have said one hundred percent he
- 32:55Speaker 4: gets to him down date.
- 32:56Speaker 5: I thought.
- 32:58Speaker 2: That's such a that's a very interesting perspect because you
- 33:00Speaker 2: two were with him that week, when you even left
- 33:03Speaker 2: that date, even after the fiasca that happened, and even
- 33:06Speaker 2: after their kind of conversation, you two still felt like
- 33:09Speaker 2: there's no chance he doesn't still get a hometown.
- 33:11Speaker 3: I felt one.
- 33:11Speaker 5: Hundred percent, Suy, Yeah, I thought he'd get a hometown.
- 33:13Speaker 4: I mean, like I didn't know beyond that because obviously
- 33:15Speaker 4: things went out, but like I was like, hands down,
- 33:18Speaker 4: like sitting in that room, I didn't know anybody else
- 33:21Speaker 4: Marcus's story. I knew she had a good date the
- 33:23Speaker 4: day before and she told us that, right, we didn't
- 33:26Speaker 4: know any of that. But sitting there with the guys
- 33:29Speaker 4: that we knew, like Grant, Sam, Jonathan and then Spencer
- 33:37Speaker 4: and Spencer Yah yeah, I mean and Spencer to me,
- 33:41Speaker 4: like I just remember going, like the guys when I
- 33:43Speaker 4: was on the Bachelor, there's guys that made it to
- 33:45Speaker 4: the final six or seven that didn't even know the
- 33:47Speaker 4: bat know her, so like it didn't surprise me that
- 33:50Speaker 4: there were people that weren't that close.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, and he felt like so Spencer, who ends
- 33:55Speaker 2: up going home at the end of this episode along
- 33:57Speaker 2: with Grant, which was a shock to all of us. Here. Spencer,
- 34:01Speaker 2: to you during your day, you felt like he's the
- 34:03Speaker 2: one that probably is on the outside looking in. It's
- 34:06Speaker 2: pretty clear, but like kind.
- 34:07Speaker 5: Of middle of the road. He didn't stand out. They didn't,
- 34:10Speaker 5: he didn't talk a ton, and then watching the season,
- 34:12Speaker 5: he's non existent.
- 34:13Speaker 4: I mean, it only stuck out the two people that
- 34:16Speaker 4: stuck out to me where she wanted to ask. She
- 34:18Speaker 4: wanted us to dig into Sam and then she's like, Okay,
- 34:21Speaker 4: there's this guy Devin who looks like Pete Davidson, and like,
- 34:25Speaker 4: I don't know if he's just funny or if I
- 34:26Speaker 4: need to find out more, but can you dig into
- 34:28Speaker 4: him because he seems just like the funny guy.
- 34:31Speaker 2: Yeah, And so Spencer was on the outside looking in,
- 34:34Speaker 2: which makes sense because Spencer is going home along with Grant.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Final thing I want to talk to you guys about
- 34:40Speaker 2: before we kind of go in predictions for the rest
- 34:42Speaker 2: of the season. Spencer's last scene, as he says goodbye,
- 34:46Speaker 2: he calls his mom. His mom is his mom is
- 34:48Speaker 2: obviously very sweet, she obviously calls him baby. I think
- 34:51Speaker 2: we've made that perfectly clear, which is fine. Moms can
- 34:55Speaker 2: do what they do, what they want, how they want
- 34:58Speaker 2: to do it. Outside of you know that conversation. Am
- 35:03Speaker 2: I wrong? You guys have been around the show for
- 35:05Speaker 2: a while now. In saying yes, I do think Marcus
- 35:08Speaker 2: is like teed up to be the next lead. It
- 35:11Speaker 2: felt like the show was trying to make Spencer that guy.
- 35:16Speaker 5: They were trying to do something by showing that for sure,
- 35:18Speaker 5: Like when I was like, they've never done this, This
- 35:20Speaker 5: is weird. Why are they showing this? They're setting him
- 35:23Speaker 5: up for something. But how could they set him up
- 35:26Speaker 5: to be the bachelor now when they've been able to
- 35:28Speaker 5: edit everything and he's hardly in the show.
- 35:30Speaker 2: They know that they need backups, Yeah, they do need backups.
- 35:34Speaker 4: They know that the first person might not accept and
- 35:36Speaker 4: so on, and so far we didn't even talk about
- 35:38Speaker 4: all the girls coming to our house.
- 35:40Speaker 5: Oh yeah, that's a whole different in Town trista charity,
- 35:43Speaker 5: they all came for dinner. They all came over.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Yeah, wait, but not on the show.
- 35:48Speaker 5: No, no, no, they were in town filming the day before. Yeah,
- 35:52Speaker 5: so we're like, why don't you girls all come over?
- 35:53Speaker 5: So we had a rager at the Mesnik house with
- 35:55Speaker 5: all a girl.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Yeah, so they were really tired the day they filmed.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Yeah was it fun?
- 36:01Speaker 5: Oh gosh, we had a blast. We had so much
- 36:03Speaker 5: fun I had. I would have to catch myself every
- 36:05Speaker 5: once in a while and be like, oh my gosh,
- 36:07Speaker 5: I'm like twenty years older than these girls.
- 36:09Speaker 2: So who was all there? Who were the girls that
- 36:12Speaker 2: actually came over?
- 36:13Speaker 5: Trista Not Trista obviously Trista, Charity, Daisy and Kelsey and.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Riley had gotten into the season before, so Riley.
- 36:20Speaker 5: Was super excited for Fine, like these girls on TV
- 36:24Speaker 5: and now they're in my house.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Mom and dad, you're so cool. Ye wait, why
- 36:30Speaker 2: am I missing something? Where Daisy and Kelsey they weren't
- 36:34Speaker 2: on this episode? Were they?
- 36:35Speaker 3: Yeah? They were the Wicked date.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Oh geez goodness. Yeah, that feels like such a small
- 36:41Speaker 2: like early part of the episode. Okay, you're right, one
- 36:43Speaker 2: hundred percent.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Yeah, it was super cool because we obviously know Trista
- 36:46Speaker 4: really well, but to get they could know some of
- 36:47Speaker 4: the younger girls like they were super cool.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Well, they're they're and it's fun to see kind of
- 36:52Speaker 2: this next generation because they are they're they're very similar
- 36:56Speaker 2: to how we all were coming off the show. They're
- 36:58Speaker 2: excited it's new, but they're just great hangs. Like they're
- 37:03Speaker 2: a lot of fun to hang out with. So that's
- 37:05Speaker 2: that's special. And here's what's really cool. It probably meant
- 37:09Speaker 2: a lot to them like that you guys had them
- 37:11Speaker 2: over like this means a lot to those contestants because
- 37:15Speaker 2: you don't get those like really fun, non like event
- 37:18Speaker 2: moments where it's just like, let's just go have fun
- 37:20Speaker 2: at a house.
- 37:21Speaker 5: Yeah. Actually, Daisy, who had reached out before after following
- 37:27Speaker 5: just being so grateful. She's like, that was so much fun.
- 37:30Speaker 5: Thank you so much for welcoming us into your home.
- 37:33Speaker 5: We love getting to night like she she is as
- 37:35Speaker 5: sweet as it gets with charity.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Yeah, oh my god.
- 37:41Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. I don't think anybody shocked that Daisy's sweet.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Her name is Daisy, so it'd be hard not to.
- 37:46Speaker 6: You have to be nice.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Yeah, to go back to the Spencer thing, I kind
- 37:50Speaker 2: of they need backups and it wouldn't be shocking for
- 37:53Speaker 2: the show is confusing. It is as it is to
- 37:56Speaker 2: pick a lead who hasn't been shown a lot Clayton,
- 37:59Speaker 2: Zach come to mind. Yeahigs Jen, Like they have picked
- 38:04Speaker 2: people who kind of fly under the radarter in their
- 38:07Speaker 2: season and they kind of try to launch them up
- 38:09Speaker 2: to be the lead. I don't think it's a great strategy,
- 38:11Speaker 2: but it is what has happened here as of recently. Okay,
- 38:17Speaker 2: so Ashley's not with us today, obviously, she's momming it
- 38:20Speaker 2: somewhere well actually nowhere in Rhode Island. They just went
- 38:24Speaker 2: back to their home and we do this every week
- 38:28Speaker 2: at the end of this episode when we record Top three.
- 38:32Speaker 2: Now it's only four people left. But who are your
- 38:34Speaker 2: Top three? Now? Moving into the final few weeks in
- 38:37Speaker 2: order from favorite to third.
- 38:41Speaker 5: Okay, I'm gonna say favorite, Marcus Jonathan, me too, Devin,
- 38:50Speaker 5: and then Jeremy. I just I don't see it with
- 38:52Speaker 5: Jeremy because we don't really know him.
- 38:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I think Marcus Jonathan for sure. And then I
- 39:00Speaker 4: want Grant to come back.
- 39:03Speaker 3: Riley and I love Grant. I want Grant like some
- 39:05Speaker 3: people come back once in a while.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Okay, I'm surprised Jeremy's not Jason's number one. He said
- 39:09Speaker 2: he watched one episode, was like I think this is
- 39:11Speaker 2: the guy.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Like.
- 39:14Speaker 3: Did you were saying only goes so far, but like,
- 39:19Speaker 3: well that's you.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Guys have the exact same top three as me. I
- 39:22Speaker 2: do think Jeremy's on the outside looking in, so I
- 39:24Speaker 2: wouldn't be shocked. I would be shocked if anybody but Devin,
- 39:29Speaker 2: Marcus and Jonathan move on then to the Fantasy Suite week.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Jen has been fantastic. She's a great lead, she's carrying
- 39:38Speaker 2: the show. Well. She's been a fun watch and we
- 39:40Speaker 2: continue to to want to watch her. Jason and Molly,
- 39:43Speaker 2: thank you for coming on the show. It means a
- 39:46Speaker 2: lot that you spent this much time and that you
- 39:48Speaker 2: hosted an episode. It's always fun to catch up with
- 39:50Speaker 2: the two of you, and we really really hope to
- 39:53Speaker 2: see you back here soon. Hopefully when they come back
- 39:56Speaker 2: to Seattle, you can host another day.
- 39:58Speaker 3: I know, here's some advice.
- 39:59Speaker 4: When you have jenn On, and I know you will
- 40:00Speaker 4: at some point, she'll want to take a shot with you.
- 40:03Speaker 5: Yeah, shot a clock, likes it.
- 40:06Speaker 2: What what's the what's the liquor of choice?
- 40:08Speaker 3: Well?
- 40:08Speaker 5: None, I hate taking shots for her.
- 40:11Speaker 3: It's called alcohol.
- 40:12Speaker 5: Yeah, Jen had tequila.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Solid, solid move. I love it. Shot a clock, it's
- 40:21Speaker 2: shot a clock here. It's almost Famous podcast Until next time.
- 40:23Speaker 2: I've been Ben, just repeat, I've been, I've been then
- 40:29Speaker 2: your names? Oh no, go ahead, you guys are great.
