- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop so I have Question for you.
- 0:31How willing are you to take on new information and change your
- 0:36opinion or your mind about something?
- 0:39The I think this is such an important question because I
- 0:42feel as though often in the world of coaching and training,
- 0:48we run into people who come and they want to change, right?
- 0:51Obviously if you show up and you hire a coach and you, you know,
- 0:55are looking for shifts in your life, it's because you want to
- 0:57change and you think Often when you get there and I'm speaking
- 1:02from experience, from when I went into my first Endeavor of
- 1:05Shifting myself many, many years ago, I thought there was a Magic
- 1:11Bullet to it. I thought that if I just did
- 1:14ABCD, I could do certain actions.
- 1:18And then all of a sudden, I would be, you know, all set the
- 1:22truth is it comes down to being able to constantly cultivate
- 1:28your mindset about things as Well, as the information you're
- 1:32given and recognizing that you're probably not accurate
- 1:36about stuff that you believe, you know, to be true about
- 1:40yourself about other people about life, in general, about
- 1:44the world, cultures, whatever it may be often, we have become
- 1:50rigid and I thinking because of, you know, the things that have
- 1:54been passed down to us, what we've been taught about things.
- 1:57And I've talked about this in a different way before about the,
- 2:00you know, the The concepts that we borrow from other people, but
- 2:03I really want to talk about how willing you are to shift today
- 2:08because it comes up more and more where there is evidence
- 2:14that says, people are very very stuck because they don't want to
- 2:18take on that new information and change themselves.
- 2:21They just want to take on the information but they justify
- 2:24what they're hearing and then they don't shift themselves,
- 2:27they say, oh well it's this this or this and it's Do with me or
- 2:31how I think or how I'm showing up.
- 2:33And I know for myself that I had to do a lot of this, and it's
- 2:39specifically with this, you know, the situation of being
- 2:42married. I think that being in a
- 2:44relationship, whether you're married or not.
- 2:46If you're in a relationship with another person being in a,
- 2:49having a significant other in your life, pushes your buttons
- 2:54and it helps you learn where you are, rigid, where you are
- 2:58unreasonable, where you have A tendency to not make space for
- 3:03the other person and it is often one of the hardest things to do
- 3:10and one of the most rewarding things to do at the same time,
- 3:13when you recognize, how you think.
- 3:15And when you recognize what that your thought process does to the
- 3:18other person, or how that that makes the other person react
- 3:23when you react a certain way, or when you don't remove your
- 3:27preconceived ideas and Notions and you're not willing, Need to
- 3:30change and I think it becomes a big gnarly hairball if you will
- 3:37where it shows up everywhere else in your life and the truth
- 3:40is the older. I get the more I recognize in
- 3:45all the great lessons from all the great, you know,
- 3:48philosophers and teachers. That we have out there in order
- 3:52to create a different scenario in your life, different
- 3:55situations in your lives. You have to be willing to change
- 3:59yourself. It's always An inside job you
- 4:01that concept of changes in inside job is not just a
- 4:04concept. It's true and that requires you
- 4:07to be flexible and actually make the decision to change your
- 4:12mind. Literally change your mind about
- 4:15things, sit there and say, you know, I was not accurate with
- 4:19this, I need to shift my beliefs about this, I was God, forbid
- 4:24saying the words I was wrong, but actually saying that whether
- 4:28you profess it to other people or not is irrelevant, it's You
- 4:30do it to yourself, whether you recognize I was harsh.
- 4:34We in your response to somebody. When you say it to yourself.
- 4:40Even when you just pause and you say I was impatient, I can I do
- 4:44this sometimes when especially when I'm in the middle of trying
- 4:47to do a ton of different things and I'm trying to be mindful and
- 4:51I'm working very hard on being mindful but my son wants my
- 4:54attention in that moment and I get irritated and I might snap.
- 5:00Nap. I might snap back.
- 5:01I might say something in a harsh way or I might say, give me one
- 5:04second and then that one second turns into a half an hour
- 5:08because I forgot or whatever it might be, and I have to stop and
- 5:12say, to myself, that was wrong, that was the wrong way to do
- 5:14that. That was not the way to handle
- 5:16that. I have to pause and come back
- 5:18and say, wait, I can do better with that.
- 5:20Now whether I apologize to him, make the decision to apologize
- 5:23to him or not, is my choice moment to moment, and it's your
- 5:26choice, but telling yourself that, so, you can shift and
- 5:29cultivate an hour. A new pattern for this is what
- 5:34I'm talking about. It's that all that force of
- 5:37moving outward, the things that are coming out of you, the
- 5:39projection of things, the energy of things, it requires you to
- 5:45stop and pause and really push forward with this.
- 5:48So, what I'm I'm asking you guys to do, is to look at this and
- 5:53really check in with yourself and say, okay.
- 5:57Am I willing to take on new information and Change My Mind?
- 6:01One simple question to start asking yourself, am I willing to
- 6:04change my perspective and my willing to change my mind on
- 6:07this and my willing to think differently because again often
- 6:13most of the time 99% of the time if we can ask a better question
- 6:18we can change everything that's going on around us so I'm asking
- 6:21you to ask that question today and I hope that you guys find
- 6:24some amazing answers and I hope that you find that you are
- 6:26willing to Your mind and that you are willing to see things
- 6:29differently because that's where things start to get really
- 6:32interesting and you get to grow. So have a blessed day my friends
- 6:36and I will see you tomorrow.
