- 0:27Hey you guys, welcome to day two of the shift preview calls.
- 0:32Really excited to be here with you guys today as we're getting
- 0:36started and people are coming on.
- 0:38Since I just started the webinar, let me know if you guys
- 0:41can hear and see me. I want to make sure audio,
- 0:43video, everything is working well and that the chat box is
- 0:47working. And this is also gonna be an
- 0:50interactive call. So let's start out.
- 0:53If you guys feel comfortable with it, put your name, where
- 0:57you're from and what you're hoping to get out of today's
- 1:01session. And if you also feel comfortable
- 1:04with this, what is a shift that you're trying to make in your
- 1:07life right now? And let me know if the chat box
- 1:12is working and if you guys can hear and see me OK too.
- 1:19All right, so good. I haven't heard anything from
- 1:24you guys. Can you hear and see me OK
- 1:27before we keep going? OK, perfect.
- 1:34Thank you. All right guys, let's get
- 1:37started. I want to first introduce
- 1:38myself. My name is Janessa Dean.
- 1:40I've been a certified life coach for the last four years.
- 1:43Actually, I think it's been about 5 now.
- 1:45I've coached hundreds of people both inside my programs and
- 1:48one-on-one to help them create confidence and get more results
- 1:52in their life and really just give you a life coaching tools
- 1:56to help hit your personal and professional goals in a shorter
- 1:59amount of time. When I found coaching, it was a
- 2:03time where I felt like things were kind of unbalanced for me
- 2:06with my work and my home life. And when I realized that I could
- 2:11create any result that I wanted by the thoughts that I was
- 2:15thinking and the feelings that that created by my thoughts, I
- 2:19realized I had so much more power over the result that I
- 2:23created in my life and how I could show up more confidently
- 2:26doing it and navigating all the doubt and the fear.
- 2:29So we're going to talk about and build on a little bit.
- 2:32What we talked about yesterday was really just how do we create
- 2:37confidence and uncertainty? And today I'm going to talk to
- 2:40you about how to create momentum once we've decided on a goal and
- 2:44a big hairy audacious goal and we want to move forward with it.
- 2:48Just a couple housekeeping things before we get started.
- 2:52I want you guys to know that the chat box is open, so I'm going
- 2:55to make this interactive if I'm going to put the questions in
- 2:59there as well. And then when we get to the
- 3:01coaching portion, there is a raise hand button down below.
- 3:05You can just raise your hand to get any coaching and then I will
- 3:09bring you on and feel free to get coaching or watch coaching.
- 3:14I think it's just as effective to watch it as well.
- 3:18And I'm going to also put the questions in the question box.
- 3:22And then also as well, if you guys want to answer that, if you
- 3:27prefer to answer that way instead of coming on, we can do
- 3:29that too. I want to keep the teaching
- 3:31portion really short today because I want ample opportunity
- 3:35for you guys to workshop some of these questions together.
- 3:40And I do see some of you guys on who are currently working with
- 3:44me, so you kind of know what my coaching style is like.
- 3:47So I would invite you guys to come on on during that part.
- 3:50OK, let's just get started. I also want to mention before we
- 3:58get started on the teaching portion, these tools, when I
- 4:01found life coaching, it really gave me the permission to go
- 4:06after whatever I want and to become whoever I wanted and to
- 4:11really listen to my gut, my intuition of this is what I want
- 4:18to create and this is the stamp I want to leave in the world.
- 4:22And I used to have so much judgment on myself that I was
- 4:25just the person who went into communications and wanted to do
- 4:30broadcast journalism and then went to banking and then flipped
- 4:33to nursing and then went to live coaching.
- 4:35I used to have so much judgment, but now I realize it's because I
- 4:41know that I have given myself permission to shift in and out
- 4:46of any identity that I want. And also I find a lot of
- 4:51confidence in knowing that I'm going to continue to listen to
- 4:54that. And I what I want to offer you
- 4:57guys is being in the identity and making the shift because
- 5:01you've listened to that whisper. It is so meaningful to be doing
- 5:06the career and the job that you know that you're meant to be
- 5:10doing. And so if what I want to give
- 5:13you guys before we start the teaching portion is just give
- 5:16yourself permission to create and want whatever you want.
- 5:21Because sometimes I think we factor in like childhood trauma,
- 5:25what our friends want, what our best, what our family wants.
- 5:29And I just want to offer for you guys to spend this next hour
- 5:33just really giving yourself permission to want what you
- 5:37want. Because now being on the other
- 5:39side of like now doing life coaching, being an entrepreneur,
- 5:43owning my own business, when I wake up every day, I am so
- 5:48excited to put this value out in the world.
- 5:51I am so excited to work with each and every one of the people
- 5:54that I work with because my mission is that I put these
- 5:58tools in the hands of more people because they're going to
- 6:01take these tools and put this in the hands of friends and family.
- 6:04And the ripple effect of that I know is going to be huge.
- 6:07And so waking up every day knowing that I listen to my gut
- 6:12and I listen to that whisper and I'm doing the thing that I know
- 6:15I'm meant to be doing and that I'm good at is so meaningful.
- 6:18So I want you guys to be thinking of this in the lens of
- 6:22I'm just going to give myself permission right now in this
- 6:25next hour to want what I want and go out and create it.
- 6:29So I want to start with that. OK, so let's talk about
- 6:34creating, creating momentum. Yesterday we talked about how do
- 6:38we be confident in uncertain situations and I really taught
- 6:43confidence is grown by allowing yourself to feel 2 opposing
- 6:47emotions at one time and still take action.
- 6:50So we talked about yesterday creating confidence and
- 6:52uncertainty is taking that feeling that you know you have
- 6:56to bring with you in the car. So for me, it's doubt.
- 6:59For me, it's a lot of pressure and then also moving forward
- 7:03within sometimes an opposing feeling that I'm going to
- 7:06generate at the same time. So usually that's courage, great
- 7:10resilience. For me, it's resilient.
- 7:12So when I'm doing something new or when I'm stepping into a new
- 7:15identity, I know that I am going to feel a tremendous amount of
- 7:20pressure and that also I want to generate resilience.
- 7:23So when I generate resilience and pressure at the same time, I
- 7:28teach myself to take forward action with both of those, and
- 7:31that just really helps me create momentum.
- 7:34So today we're going to talk about how do we create the
- 7:37momentum to just get started, put ourselves into gear and then
- 7:41get the ball rolling and get the wheels pedaling so that we can
- 7:44keep pedaling and at some point not have to be pedaling as hard,
- 7:47but coasting when we're riding a bike.
- 7:50The first thing in really learning to create momentum for
- 7:54yourself is recognizing the thoughts your brain is offering
- 7:58you that are slowing you down or even pulling you back.
- 8:02For me and for lots of you guys, you might be similar to me where
- 8:06I'm really good at taking a lot of action.
- 8:08But what I've learned over the years is that, yeah, I can take
- 8:11a bunch of action and get the result that I want, but
- 8:14oftentimes I feel burnt out at the end.
- 8:17So what I've been really teaching myself over the last
- 8:19couple years are what are the actions that I want to be taking
- 8:24that will move me forward from abundancy instead of scarcity.
- 8:29So before, when I took a lot of action, I'm like from scarcity.
- 8:33It's like I have to do all these things to create what I want.
- 8:35And now it's like I asked myself, before I make the list
- 8:39of the actions I'm going to take from abundancy, from me already
- 8:43believing that I'm going to get the result.
- 8:45And then I'm going to figure it out.
- 8:46What do I think is the next best step?
- 8:49And sometimes it's the same actions, but usually it's a lot
- 8:52less. And so to do that, we really
- 8:56have to get clear of what are the thoughts that our brains
- 8:59offering us that are having us slow down or having us pull
- 9:02back. And I'm going to give you some
- 9:04questions to really think about what those are.
- 9:07Getting into motion is the hardest part because when you
- 9:11make a decision to really go for something or when you sign that
- 9:15offer for that new job, immediately thoughts are going
- 9:19to come up. Immediately an obstacle is going
- 9:22to come up. How many of you guys have
- 9:24decided, OK, I'm going to switch jobs now or switch careers and
- 9:29then you have a family member pass away or you have you get in
- 9:34an accident and you have this big financial burden?
- 9:37I really believe that that's the way the universe is testing us
- 9:41is if we really want it or not. And I believe that when we set a
- 9:47big goal for ourselves, usually an obstacle is going to come up,
- 9:50whether it's like a physical obstacle or a circumstantial
- 9:54obstacle or whether it's an obstacle in our brain.
- 9:56And I just know that and I come to expect that.
- 10:00And what's different in coming to expect it is that you're on
- 10:03to yourself when those thoughts start to happen.
- 10:06So I want you guys to think about that.
- 10:08Just know when you make a big decision, obstacles are going to
- 10:12come up and be ready for them. And I'm going to give you some
- 10:14questions to kind of think about with that.
- 10:17Taking action is also actually easier than spending time in
- 10:22your brain drama. So how many of you guys are
- 10:26faced with the decision whether it's like, do I move to this job
- 10:29or do I do this job? And they could be very, very
- 10:32similar. It could be similar to the
- 10:34coaching I gave yesterday where she was like, do I work ER or
- 10:37ICU? So very similar jobs, very
- 10:39similar to departments. And your brain likes to spin in
- 10:43the back and forth of it so much that you're just only thinking
- 10:46about that one decision. And one thing that I want to
- 10:50offer you guys is that we can spend a lot of time in our brain
- 10:53drama. Our, our brain tells us, oh,
- 10:56this is a really useful time indulging in this decision.
- 11:00But what is easier is just believing and making a decision,
- 11:06committing and moving forward. It's easier to believe that it's
- 11:09possible for you to make the right decision than to believe
- 11:12that it's possible for you to make the wrong one.
- 11:15And when we think that we're not capable of something like her
- 11:19coaching yesterday was, well, what if I make the wrong
- 11:21decision? And then she indulged in that.
- 11:24When we think about we can't do something and we're not capable
- 11:28of it, we spend a lot of time beating ourselves up and that
- 11:32takes a lot of energy. It takes a lot of brain energy
- 11:35and it takes us out of momentum. Versus it really is easier to
- 11:40just believe I'm a good decision maker and to just make the
- 11:43decision and move forward. I know it doesn't sound easier
- 11:47because your brain wants to offer you a lot of drama about
- 11:49it, but it really is easier to believe it's possible for you
- 11:52than to not believe. And I also wanna say that again,
- 11:58indulging and spinning in this indecision feels useful to our
- 12:03brain, but it just keeps us stuck and it keeps us stuck
- 12:05longer. Something that I've been
- 12:07thinking about too. And I had one of my clients
- 12:13asked me that the other day. They said how do I really enjoy
- 12:20what I'm doing on and working on now while also wanting something
- 12:24better for myself. It was almost like she was
- 12:26asking me at like if I want something more, if I want this
- 12:30result in the future then I won't enjoy now like I then I
- 12:34won't enjoy the present. And I told her how you can enjoy
- 12:37the present and still be the person who knows you're meant
- 12:40for something more or want more is to find the joy in the
- 12:44process. Because here's the thing, the
- 12:47majority of us feel like we want to get there because it's going
- 12:51to be better when we get there. Or we're chasing the feeling of
- 12:54what we think we're going to get when we get there.
- 12:56But when you arrive, you realize that it's not better there than
- 12:59it is here. And so where you where you want
- 13:03to connect these to and become the person who loves the present
- 13:08while also striving for more is finding the joy in the
- 13:12challenge, finding the joy in the journey, finding the joy in
- 13:16who you're becoming and getting to that person.
- 13:19And to do that, we also have to really deeply tap into desire
- 13:25and really asking ourself, what is it that we desire?
- 13:29I talked about this at the beginning, giving yourself
- 13:32permission to think about what it is that I really want.
- 13:35Because if you can get to the reason why you really desire
- 13:39this, then you don't need to lean on motivation and you don't
- 13:42need to lean on discipline. So these are asking yourself
- 13:46like, what are thoughts that you need to create about the
- 13:49challenge? And I don't know about you guys,
- 13:51but when I had a challenging situation, sometimes it's hard
- 13:54for me to get to. But the more majority of the
- 13:57time I'm like, I love challenges.
- 14:00I'm the person who when my kids can't figure something out or my
- 14:03friends are like, I just can't get to this thing that I'm
- 14:06trying to get to. They come to me and they're
- 14:07like, what do you see? And I'm like, oh, I love this.
- 14:09Let's like work this out. Let's like pencil out all the
- 14:12different ways to get there. I just love the challenge.
- 14:15And so this has been something that I have been really playing
- 14:20around with. And then also like just finding
- 14:23the joy in the becoming. Another example that just came
- 14:27up for me that I want you guys to think about is I ran my first
- 14:30half marathon a couple years ago and I was like, you know, there
- 14:37were some days where it's like I don't know if I want to go for
- 14:39this nine mile run or the Six Mile run or these or the days
- 14:44where it started to pile up. And I realized like I just found
- 14:48the joy in building myself and becoming the person and running
- 14:52the race. So running the half marathon was
- 14:54great and finishing was great. Like that all felt good.
- 14:57But honestly, it felt so good to just become the person who could
- 15:01build in learning how to run the half marathon.
- 15:04And so I want you guys to think about this as you are maybe in
- 15:08the messy middle and you're maybe making the shift.
- 15:10Like how can you find joy in the journey?
- 15:12How can you find joy in becoming that person and in the process?
- 15:16One example that I wanted to give you guys, I am just so
- 15:19floored by watching this. And it's OK if you guys don't
- 15:21like Taylor Swift, but she does this documentary and it is
- 15:28following herself of her heiress tour.
- 15:32But it it's like a docu series of her filming it behind the
- 15:36scenes. And she's talking about before
- 15:39she decided to do it, it was during COVID and she just had
- 15:44this idea that she wanted to make this like a movie and an
- 15:50experience and an emotional experience that took her fans
- 15:54through the creation of all these different albums that she
- 15:57made. And she said, I want to do
- 15:59something different that maybe no one's done before and that
- 16:03for sure she hadn't done before. She's like, I want to commit to
- 16:07having them experience a whole spectrum of emotions throughout
- 16:11all of the throughout all of the the nights that she ran the
- 16:17tours and she gave it to her team.
- 16:19And her team's like, that's going to be a 3-4 hour set list.
- 16:24And she's like, yeah. And they're like, you're going
- 16:27to be dancing the whole time. And she's like, yeah.
- 16:30And what I loved about this docu series was she listened to this
- 16:35whisper. She committed to the idea and
- 16:39she committed to having the outcome even though she hadn't
- 16:43gotten all the people yet and created the whole thing.
- 16:46And the end result of this was momentous.
- 16:50It was people felt all of those emotions.
- 16:54And she committed to doing something that no one has done
- 16:57before. She committed to listening to
- 16:59the whisper, making the vision and seeing it all the way
- 17:02through. And I loved this because I
- 17:05thought we have to be willing to be a leader sometimes and we
- 17:11have to be willing to see the vision before anybody else does.
- 17:16And sometimes that means, and I've shared this before too,
- 17:20when I wanted to become a flight nurse, my husband and my family
- 17:22were not on board with it. And sometimes that means you
- 17:25have to be willing to go 1st and you also have to be willing to
- 17:29carry the belief and the vision for other people.
- 17:32And I just knew that I wanted this so much that after I did
- 17:35it, they would see it. And if they didn't see it, it
- 17:38was going to be OK because I believed in myself and I was
- 17:41willing to go 1st and do it. And so I really want to offer
- 17:46for you guys, take yourself seriously.
- 17:49Honor what you've set out to do. Honor your commitment to your
- 17:54ideas, even if no one's done it before or even if no one in your
- 17:58family has done it before or you maybe you don't have an example
- 18:01of it. And be willing to take criticism
- 18:05and not let it mean anything about you.
- 18:08Be willing to find so much joy in the journey and the challenge
- 18:13that when you do get criticism, you're like, oh, OK, I could see
- 18:17how you could think it. But also I still love my idea.
- 18:20And also, I still love being willing to go first, hold
- 18:23confidence in the outcome in this messy metal, even if it's
- 18:27failure after failure. Hold confidence in that and hold
- 18:31confidence in the journey of who you're becoming before you get
- 18:35there. Because what I tell everybody,
- 18:37like it feels so good once you get to flight.
- 18:40That's my other program that I coach in the flight prep
- 18:43Academy. It feels so good once you get to
- 18:45flight, but also it's about who you become in the process of
- 18:50getting there and that person that you can just be so proud of
- 18:56in in that person before getting that offer.
- 19:00Being a leader is a willingness to go first too.
- 19:03And I just want to offer you guys that being the leader
- 19:09doesn't always feel good. But I know from like, like most
- 19:15of you guys like me, I feel this burning inside me to put forth
- 19:22out these life coaching tools and whatever it is for you that
- 19:26you're like, hey, I really want to create this, but I don't know
- 19:28anybody who's done it or I really want to shift into doing
- 19:30this. And I don't have anyone that
- 19:33that I know who has done it. It's being willing to just
- 19:39follow that and go 1st and feel uncertainty at the same time.
- 19:47So I want to also tell you that that burning inside of you is
- 19:51harder to not listen to than to listen to.
- 19:54Sometimes we pull back and we decide not to go for it because
- 19:57we're like, oh, this is going to feel uncomfortable or this is
- 19:59going to feel like fear or this is going to feel like doubt.
- 20:02But how many of you guys have lived with regret because you
- 20:05know you've wanted something and you just have never gone for it?
- 20:08That feeling of regret is going to be much harder to live with
- 20:12than just feeling discomfort or doubt and going for it and
- 20:16getting into the momentum. OK, so that's the teaching
- 20:20portion. I have some questions now I want
- 20:24to ask you guys to think about. I'm going to put them in the
- 20:26chat and then I'm also going to read them out loud for those
- 20:30people who are listening back to this.
- 20:35And then I would love for you guys to come on and tell me your
- 20:38thoughts and maybe get some coaching on this.
- 20:40So question one I want you guys to think about is what actions
- 20:45are you not taking because you are avoiding discomfort and
- 20:53immediately you should know what's coming up for you.
- 20:56Question 2, What's the negative emotions that you would have to
- 21:01be forced to feel if you forced yourself to take the action?
- 21:06If you forced yourself to take the action in one that you know
- 21:09that you're not doing, what's the negative emotion that you
- 21:11would have to be willing to feel?
- 21:13For me, it's pressure and it's doubt.
- 21:15Those are the two that always come up for me.
- 21:18And then three is who is a you who could just allow that
- 21:22emotion? Like if you could just become
- 21:24the person who's allows pressure and and doubt, who, who would
- 21:29that person be? What what would he or she be
- 21:31like? OK, who would like to come on
- 21:37and discuss these or get some coaching on it?
- 21:45I was making the making sure the raise hand button worked.
- 21:55Especially anyone on here who is my current clients who's willing
- 22:00to kind of showcase what it's like to workshop through some of
- 22:04these questions. All right, Nathan, I'm going to
- 22:15bring you on. Let's go.
- 22:24Well, I feel like you directly called me out so I had to raise
- 22:28my. Hand, you always say that.
- 22:33I love that. Your your questions have
- 22:39disappeared since I've become a panelist.
- 22:42Oh, no. OK.
- 22:45But you can't see any of the questions on there.
- 22:53Not anymore now. Can you now?
- 22:56Over. Let's see.
- 23:01No. OK, are you cool if I just read
- 23:04them out loud to you? Go for it.
- 23:05OK, question #1 is what actions are you not taking because
- 23:10you're avoiding discomfort? 2 is what's the negative emotion
- 23:16that you would have to be forced to feel if you forced yourself
- 23:17to take that action that you weren't taking in question one
- 23:20and three is who is the you who could allow that emotion?
- 23:29And feel free to let me know if you want me to repeat them.
- 23:31Any of them. OK, so the first one, what
- 23:35actions am I not taking because of whatever emotion?
- 23:43I mean, or even if it's not the emotion, like what action do you
- 23:46think that you're not taking because you're avoiding
- 23:48discomfort right now? I mean, to be honest, right now,
- 24:00currently I don't feel like I'm avoiding much, but I don't think
- 24:05I'm, well, I mean, a lot have happened since we last talked to
- 24:08now so oh. OK.
- 24:11So it's kind of hard to get all into it.
- 24:15Well, what question do you feel like stumped on or where?
- 24:18I mean, I can quote you on anything.
- 24:20So where are you kind of like with these questions?
- 24:23Where are you feeling like maybe you are wanting to workshop it a
- 24:26little bit? Well, so it's not that I feel
- 24:29like I'm avoiding action or anything right now.
- 24:34That new information has come up and I'm just kind of stuck
- 24:40again, OK? Because we don't know what's
- 24:44going to happen again. OK, so let's talk about this
- 24:48because I've heard you say this before.
- 24:49So I think it's really helpful to be on your brain about why
- 24:52it's telling you that you're stuck.
- 24:54So tell me why you feel stuck. And if you don't want to share
- 25:00circumstances, that's OK, but tell me why you are feeling
- 25:03stuck in indecision or in this decision.
- 25:07Well OK, I'll share. There's nothing like damning or
- 25:13anything but. So for anyone unaware, my wife
- 25:20is military and we have a move coming up soon.
- 25:24Up until this last week we had no idea where it was going to
- 25:28be, we just knew it was going to be sometime this summer.
- 25:35So we finally got a list of locations that we could
- 25:39potentially move to. In that list, we don't know
- 25:46which one we're being selected for for at least another week to
- 25:50a month. Two of them are overseas
- 25:56assignments, 3 of them are here stateside.
- 26:04And like we talked about in the past, Janessa, I was kind of in
- 26:07that like do I move towards going towards Yarna School or do
- 26:14I gear towards going back into the military myself?
- 26:21There is a lot of caveats and asterisks to a lot of this.
- 26:27So it let's just start with if we do stateside, we get selected
- 26:33for a stateside assignment. I have looked at those States
- 26:37and they are only accepting ICU experience for CRNA school.
- 26:46So, and that's at least minimum a year, but they prefer to OK,
- 26:56so it's like, well crap, kind of have to start again from square
- 27:001. If.
- 27:01If we get stateside, if that is the path I go down and then that
- 27:10leads into some whole other things, but I'm not going to get
- 27:12into that right now. Where specifically are you
- 27:15feeling stuck? Because I'm just curious for
- 27:26you, Nathan, if it's just lots of decisions and that's what's
- 27:29having you pull back. I guess you could say that it's
- 27:35just I need information in order to know what I need to what my
- 27:41next steps needs to be. OK, I actually think this is a
- 27:45step before this for you. OK.
- 27:49Because circumstantially, yes, you need information to be able
- 27:53to make decision of what you want to decide.
- 27:56But what's keeping you from being able to trust that when
- 27:59you get those circumstances, you'll be able to do it?
- 28:05Nothing. I mean, I don't think it's like
- 28:11a lack of faith in myself or anything that would be from
- 28:17accomplishing the goal. It's just all the nitty gritty
- 28:21steps to get there, which we've talked about, are not my
- 28:26favorite thing to do, but I'm trying to work on that as well.
- 28:30OK, OK, so this is perfect. Let's talk about this for a
- 28:32second. If we thought about you, let's
- 28:39Fast forward five years. Yep.
- 28:41And we don't have to put a profession on it.
- 28:44So maybe it's the military job, maybe it's ACRNA job.
- 28:47We're fast forwarding five years.
- 28:48But whatever it is, you're so you love it.
- 28:52And you're like so glad that all of this like moving, not moving,
- 28:57having to do for things, jump through hoops, like you're so
- 29:00glad you went through that because it helped you become
- 29:03that person. What if you could like, pull
- 29:09from him? What would he tell you about all
- 29:12this time of like uncertainty and all of these decisions in
- 29:17the different pathways? What?
- 29:18What wisdom would he give you? He would probably say, man that
- 29:23sucked, but good thing he kept doing.
- 29:26Yeah. So what comes up for you with
- 29:31that wisdom of what he told you? Man that sucks, but good thing
- 29:34you kept with it and you did it. I mean, just keep your head
- 29:40down, keep pushing regardless of you know which path it is, and I
- 29:48mean just keep moving forward with it.
- 29:56And also one thing that I want to pull you back to my hunches
- 29:58to like, just like this kind of loss of like control of like
- 30:02where you going to live, what's the job, what's the state, all
- 30:04of those things. That's like my hunch that you're
- 30:08kind of feeling. My other thing that I want to
- 30:12offer you is like, really bring yourself back to what is it that
- 30:16you have control over? Like what is it that you're
- 30:18certain of, and what is it that you do have control over?
- 30:25Sure. I mean like I'm still trying to
- 30:33get more general requirements for any path forward out of the
- 30:39way. Like I have my CCRN that I'm
- 30:43taking Friday. So good.
- 30:47And just knowing that, OK, what was I going to say?
- 30:57Well, I asked you like, what are you certain of and what do you
- 31:00have control over? Right.
- 31:03So more general stuff like the CCRN and oh God why do I keep
- 31:12getting hung up on this right now.
- 31:14Well, because I think that your brain wants to answer it with
- 31:16like all the things that you're doing.
- 31:18But more of like the question is, and we talked about this a
- 31:22little bit yesterday, like navigating uncertainty.
- 31:25The reason why you can show up confident and uncertain
- 31:28situations like where you don't exactly know what's next is when
- 31:32you are certain about yourself and like trusting yourself and
- 31:37like certain that you know, for me, like I'm, I know I'm going
- 31:41to always figure it out or I'm going to find the resource
- 31:44that's going to help me do it, whatever the situation is.
- 31:47So when it comes to that like what are what do you have
- 31:51control of and what are you certain of when it comes to you
- 31:55and making big decisions or navigating moves and changes?
- 32:00I If I turn inward, I know if it's something I really want
- 32:07then I will be able to get there.
- 32:10It's just a matter of when. So I have faith in that.
- 32:18It's just getting through. I guess the negative emotion
- 32:20that I'm feeling through all this is I am pissed.
- 32:25Oh OK, OK. Is it possible?
- 32:32Well, first, like, tell me, do you know why you're pissed?
- 32:35Tell me why you're pissed. A lot of it is past
- 32:41circumstance, which again, I know I have no control over, but
- 32:45it still upsets me. Like I've worked this hard to
- 32:50get to this point and I'm trying to move forward, but for
- 32:56whatever reason, whether it's like CRNA only requiring ICU or
- 33:01if we get overseas, like I don't even know if I'm going to be
- 33:04able to have a job. Like it's hard to get to this
- 33:09point and now it's like I'm taking steps back.
- 33:13OK, if you weren't pissed, what's the alternative?
- 33:17Like if you just like, let's just like go there for a second.
- 33:20If you had no power to be like brain powered available to feel
- 33:25pissed anymore, what would be that motion that if you could
- 33:28choose it if. I could choose it.
- 33:34If I could choose, I would just be confident in whatever I am
- 33:42doing next and not have any doubts or fears of regret later
- 33:48on. OK, well also I wonder for you,
- 33:53Nathan, is is you're unsure because you don't want to regret
- 34:02steps that you haven't taken yet or decisions you haven't made.
- 34:09Like you're kind of like tiptoeing around decisions
- 34:11because you don't want to regret them later.
- 34:20I don't, no. That's something I can
- 34:24definitely like, sit and think about.
- 34:27OK, OK, well then I'm going to give it to you very plainly just
- 34:30because I know you too is you can definitely let yourself be
- 34:36pissed. Like that's definitely a choice
- 34:38that you can have. You can totally, totally have
- 34:41that choice. I want to offer that to you.
- 34:43There's lots of situations where I'm like, I'm just going to be
- 34:45pissed and I'm going to give myself this amount of time.
- 34:48But when you are pissed thinking about the past and what has
- 34:53stopped your past circumstances to moving forward now, what are
- 34:57you not doing? Not progressing.
- 35:02Yeah, when for you, when you're pissed, it just keeps you in
- 35:07your past, right? It doesn't have you looking
- 35:10forward. So I believe that you're the
- 35:13person that can do this and get to where you want to be, whether
- 35:16it's CNA or your military goal, Pissed all the way because
- 35:19that's just who you are. You're a hard worker.
- 35:21But the alternative that I do want to offer you is that we
- 35:25can. I'll let go of that piss.
- 35:29I mean, maybe that's going to take some time.
- 35:31We're going to need to process it through and why exactly you
- 35:33are. But you could also do it with
- 35:36letting go of being pissed and being confident the whole time.
- 35:43Both ways are going to get you there.
- 35:46Yeah, I hear everything you're saying loud and clear.
- 35:50It's just going to take some work.
- 35:52Yeah, yeah. So maybe right now, what would
- 35:55it look like to be pissed? Because we're not going to get
- 35:59over that. We're going to just allow it for
- 36:00right now and then also generate a little bit of confidence at
- 36:04the same time so that we can look forward.
- 36:12Yes. What might that look like for
- 36:18you? I mean, honestly, I think I'm
- 36:28already doing it, I just need to be more cool with it.
- 36:36Yeah, honestly, I think it's you just need to give yourself more
- 36:39credit. Yeah, 'cause we forget to do
- 36:42that. We're like, wait, You're like,
- 36:43wait. I am kind of doing it.
- 36:46I am pissed and I am moving forward and I am confidently
- 36:50taking the actions and I am thinking about my future right
- 36:52now and then it's like, OK, how are all the ways that I am doing
- 36:56it? How do I give myself credit that
- 36:58I'm doing it? Yeah, yeah.
- 37:00It's like myself Credit. Yeah, like it's the giving
- 37:03yourself credit that will actually create the momentum for
- 37:06you. That's the key for you in this
- 37:08conversation. OK.
- 37:12How does that feel for you it? It's relieving in a sense that
- 37:23like I'm already doing it. Like what?
- 37:27What's the whole like? What's the hang up here?
- 37:30Totally. So in that sense, it's good and
- 37:33relieving that I can like just kind of pinpoint it.
- 37:36Yeah. But I am also still just feeling
- 37:39that again, I haven't given myself credit in decades so.
- 37:46Yes, just. Flip it.
- 37:48Yeah, yeah. What's gonna the flipped
- 37:50conversation part of this is it's actually not discomfort
- 37:53that you have to feel to start momentum.
- 37:55It's giving yourself credit, which is uncomfortable for you
- 37:59to start the momentum. But for you, it's like giving
- 38:04yourself credit, telling yourself all the things that
- 38:06you're doing, chalking up all of the winds, writing those down.
- 38:10That's what's gonna create the momentum.
- 38:13But that's the uncomfortable thing for you right now.
- 38:15Mm hmm. But once you create that
- 38:18momentum, giving yourself credit is going to be putting you in
- 38:21motion and that's going to become easier too.
- 38:24And you're going to realize the credit, like giving yourself
- 38:27that credit, those alkalades, those wins, that's what's going
- 38:31to keep you going and get you unstuck.
- 38:36I really think that like that's key for you.
- 38:41I agree. OK, you got this.
- 38:45Yep, for. Sure, keep us posted and let us
- 38:47know how it goes. You know I will.
- 38:49OK. I love it.
- 38:50Thanks for getting coaching on that, Nathan.
- 38:54OK, if I can figure out how to put you back.
- 39:07OK, so good. I have a couple more minutes, so
- 39:12I want to open this up to anybody else.
- 39:14If anything came up for you or you want some additional
- 39:17coaching on any of these questions, just gonna give a
- 39:21second. If anybody wants to workshop it,
- 39:23raise your hand. OK, so good.
- 39:37I want to thank you guys for being on and thank Nathan for
- 39:42being willing to go 1st and workshop that.
- 39:44So I mean coaching him, you just realize like sometimes it isn't
- 39:49discomfort. Sometimes the discomfort is the
- 39:51thing that is hard for us, which is chalking up our wins and is
- 39:58giving ourselves a little pat on the back, and that is what's
- 40:01going to create the momentum. So I'm so glad that we found
- 40:04that for him too. It's like sometimes we are the
- 40:06people who just love discomfort but then giving ourselves like.
- 40:11Saying, yeah, Oh yeah, you are doing it, you are doing a good
- 40:14job. Like that's the thing that we
- 40:16need to do more of because it has our brain recognizing, Oh
- 40:20yeah, we are doing it. We are starting to create the
- 40:24momentum. So I loved that coaching.
- 40:26I want to offer you guys if you want to continue taking this
- 40:30conversation deeper and you want to continue creating the
- 40:33momentum towards what you want and start applying these
- 40:36concepts right away in your everyday life, Come join us
- 40:39inside the shift. This is exactly what we're be
- 40:41doing in this lifetime membership life coaching
- 40:44program. I'm going to tell you right now
- 40:46everything that includes, I'm going to show you the member
- 40:48portal and the private podcast link and then give you more
- 40:50information on taking this further.
- 40:53So the biggest thing that I want to tell you guys and everything
- 40:57that includes is this. These are all the things that I
- 41:00love about my coaching programs. These are all the things that
- 41:02I've loved being in coaching programs and I really want to
- 41:05integrate them into to this one. One thing that is included
- 41:10inside of the shift is a weekly live coaching.
- 41:13I love these calls because if you guys could feel the desire
- 41:16and motivation and the things that we talked about creating
- 41:19momentum and going first and being a leader, it feels so good
- 41:23while you're on the call and then you get off the call and a
- 41:25couple days later obstacles come up and life is lifing and things
- 41:28are happening and you feel it fizzle out a little bit.
- 41:31Well, you get right back into that 7th day and then there's
- 41:34the weekly coaching call and you can get right back into that.
- 41:36So I love being able to to take real situations from your life,
- 41:40apply the tools to them, and then have that support and
- 41:42accountability and community on a call every week together.
- 41:47I just think these calls help you think differently, make
- 41:49decisions faster, move through these obstacles without getting
- 41:52spending more time getting stuck in your mind.
- 41:55And I think transformation really happens when you practice
- 41:58it, not only just listen to it, but then start to integrate it.
- 42:01And that's the workshop, the coaching portion of all of the
- 42:04calls. All of these replays will be
- 42:05housed in the member portal. So you can go back and watch
- 42:08them if you can't make it live. I don't want anybody to be in
- 42:11this perfect student mindset for this.
- 42:13This is really to give yourself one hour each week to give put
- 42:18your oxygen mask on 1st. I really believe when you do
- 42:21that, then you have so much more energy.
- 42:23You have so much more time. And whether it's coming to the
- 42:26call live for the one hour, listening to the replay for a
- 42:29one hour, or listening to the replay on the private podcast
- 42:32link while you're walking, it's dedicating that one hour to
- 42:35yourself for really like mind management, self development and
- 42:39accountability. And I really feel like on my
- 42:43calls when I show up weekly, it gives me the time back to really
- 42:49surge forward and to really declutter my brain.
- 42:53So that's why I love the integration of the weekly calls.
- 42:58It also will help you tap back into every week your goals and
- 43:02what you really want and what you're moving forward with, even
- 43:04when obstacles are coming up. This thing that I just added is
- 43:07something that I've just added to all my programs and I really
- 43:09wanted to integrate this as a part of the program.
- 43:12And this is a private podcast feed.
- 43:14If I can't make it to my group programs live, I love listening
- 43:18to it on the go, whether I'm in the car, whether I am working
- 43:21out or whether I'm on my walk. Sometimes I feel like when I'm
- 43:24in motion, that's where I can integrate some of this coaching
- 43:28and these tools the best too. So I have a a private podcast
- 43:32feed for all of the replays. So if you're an auditory
- 43:34learner, which I am, and you don't want to watch it the
- 43:38replays back that way, you can listen to them.
- 43:40And I'm going to show you what that looks like inside the
- 43:43member portal in just a second. The third thing that I really
- 43:46include in this is a community group chat.
- 43:48I love being able to have communities.
- 43:50I think this is where we really thrive and being with rooms in
- 43:54rooms of people of where we want to be and with the same
- 43:57commonality of of just like the same growth mindset.
- 44:01The community is a place where you can ask questions, share
- 44:03your wins that work through challenges in real time, and
- 44:06then you can be surrounded by people who are committed to
- 44:08growth as well. These community group chats, I
- 44:10love this because you can get support 24/7 and you can get
- 44:13coaching in between calls from me or from anybody in the group
- 44:17as well. So you can tap in in those in
- 44:19between our sessions. And I really think that when you
- 44:22put yourself in rooms, you're moving forward intentionally,
- 44:26the standards that you have rise as well.
- 44:29And I think this is what's created a lot of success for me
- 44:32by always having a mentor and being in these rooms of these
- 44:36people who are thinking at high levels that I am thinking at.
- 44:39And again, are where I want to be.
- 44:41So the member portal is where you're going to have your own
- 44:46username and password. You're going to be able to
- 44:48access all the replays. I plan on doing courses and
- 44:51trainings and workshops. Those are all going to be in
- 44:53there for you as well. And then I am going to be
- 44:56housing my six step process to make any shift in your life in
- 44:59there as well. And I'm going to talk to you
- 45:00about that in just a second. But I want to show you the
- 45:02member portal so that you can see exactly what it looks like
- 45:05and you can see how easy it is to navigate.
- 45:14Can you guys see my screen? Hang on, let me go back to here.
- 45:29OK? Hopefully you guys can see my
- 45:33screen. Just let me know if you can.
- 45:35This is the member portal, so when you join, you're going to
- 45:38get a welcome letter with your own username and your password.
- 45:41You're going to see the shift in there, and then you're going to
- 45:44be able to go to the welcome video.
- 45:45This just tells you what to expect to get started.
- 45:48The welcome letter will also outline all of that for you,
- 45:51exactly what the calls are going to like, what to expect on the
- 45:54sidebar. You're also going to see our
- 45:55date is going to be Thursdays at noon Pacific Time every
- 45:59Thursday, and then we start April 9th together.
- 46:02The Zoom link will be the same. It's there.
- 46:04And then here's our community group chat too, that you can go
- 46:06into all the weekly replays once they start April 9th will be
- 46:09housed here. And then I will also have a sick
- 46:13or the six step process of getting making any shift in your
- 46:17life there. And I'm going to talk about what
- 46:20exactly that is in just a second as well.
- 46:22Then you're going to also see the private podcast link.
- 46:25This is what it's going to look like.
- 46:26You're going to be able to click on this button here and then you
- 46:29can put that this is an individual RSS link.
- 46:32You can put this URL in any podcast platform that allows you
- 46:37to listen to a private podcast. And then one I update the calls,
- 46:42which will be by 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time every Thursday.
- 46:46They'll be the calls in the one reportal and then you'll also
- 46:49have it directly sent to you from your podcast platform as
- 46:52well. And as you can see, I the very
- 46:55first thing that I put in here is the welcome video.
- 46:57So you can listen to that. If you'd rather listen to it,
- 46:59then watch it. So that's what the member portal
- 47:03looks like. I just wanted to let you guys
- 47:05know that I structured this program this way because I know
- 47:09what it's like to read books, listen to podcasts, and just
- 47:11think about what you want. And I don't think that's enough.
- 47:14I think we need application accountability, community and
- 47:17support. And this is what really will
- 47:20help you keep you from pulling back in your old patterns and
- 47:22letting yourself get stuck and be in the obstacle set that your
- 47:26life is offering you. The shift is going to give you
- 47:29the tools, the space to apply them, the accountability to
- 47:32follow through, and the community to reinforce it.
- 47:35And I wanted to make this lifetime because I know that
- 47:37you're going to constantly be making shifts in your life,
- 47:41intentional, unintentional job changes, career changes,
- 47:45identity changes. You might go through a breakup
- 47:48or you might lose your job. Like this is how I want to
- 47:51support you with life coaching tools for all of these things
- 47:55and identity shifts. We're constantly, if you're a
- 47:58doer and someone who's an overachiever, we're constantly
- 48:01making a different identity shifts and shifting in and out
- 48:04of what we're wanting. And I want to just help you
- 48:06become the person who can handle the hard, find joy in the
- 48:09challenge and move forward and create momentum.

- 48:15everything that I listed out is $1200.
- 48:18I have a painful option and I have a three monthly payment
- 48:21plan option. I'm going to put the link in the
- 48:23chat right now. Let me know if it's clickable
- 48:26for you guys too. And great.
- 48:31I wanted to let you guys know if you Join Now, there's a special
- 48:36founders bonus for those people who are joining.
- 48:39I am going to be workshopping live the six step process.
- 48:42So I've created the six step process to make any shift in
- 48:45your life. And for those of you guys who
- 48:48Join Now you are going to get to be a part of this process and
- 48:52workshop it together lives. I will teach it and I will
- 48:55workshop it and I will coach it with you guys.
- 48:56You can see the live integration and then this framework is going
- 49:00to all be housed inside the member portal.
- 49:02This is a six step process that I'm going to go over.
- 49:04We're going to start the very first week and we're going to go
- 49:06through six weeks of working through this process together
- 49:08starting April 9th. Each week on our call, we're
- 49:12going to workshop this and then I'm going to put that in there
- 49:14for it to live inside the member portal.
- 49:17So the first step is listening to the whisper.
- 49:20I'm going to teach you how to have self-awareness, how to
- 49:22decide and commit to get yourself unstuck and to be a
- 49:25good decision maker. Step 2 is declutter your brain.
- 49:28I'm going to teach you how to have doubt and uncertainty, how
- 49:31to declutter your brain, how to recognize the negative thoughts
- 49:34and emotions without judging them and moving forward
- 49:36confidently. Step three, I'm going to teach
- 49:39you how to, when you create a vision story redirecting, what
- 49:42is your purpose? What is your why, what is your
- 49:44desire of what you really want? And then we're going to create
- 49:46that vision. Step 4 is tapping into
- 49:49capability. A lot of us think that we have
- 49:51this ceiling of what we're capable of.
- 49:52I'm going to teach you how to stretch and grow your capability
- 49:56and your capacity. Step 5 is going to be how do we
- 49:59get future focused? How do we no longer live in the
- 50:02past of what we think that we're capable of and how do we pull
- 50:06from the future to create a plan to move forward?
- 50:08Step 6 is the last one, action acceleration.
- 50:11How do we create momentum and action from a place of abundance
- 50:15instead of scarcity? I'm going to really teach you
- 50:17how to do that. So Join Now and you'll be able
- 50:20to get that founders bonus and be a part of the six step
- 50:22process. Let me know in the chat if you
- 50:26have signed up and I will be looking out for you when you're
- 50:30joining. And I want to leave these last
- 50:32couple minutes for any questions that you guys might have.
- 50:38Feel free to type them in the chat box.
- 50:42I think there's AQ and a box too, but you can just put them
- 50:44in the chat box. That'll be easier for me.
- 50:48Anything that we covered today or any questions about the
- 50:51shift? OK, as you guys know that if you
- 51:03have any questions, you get off this call and you're like, Oh my
- 51:05gosh, I was just thinking about this thing and I couldn't I, I
- 51:07didn't, or I didn't feel comfortable putting it in the
- 51:10chat box or coming on live to ask it.
- 51:12I want you guys to know that you can reach out to me by e-mail or
- 51:15Instagram or TikTok. DM me your questions.
- 51:17I answer each and every one of them back personally.
- 51:21And I'm happy to have a conversation with you about any
- 51:24of the thoughts that we were talking about today, creating a
- 51:26momentum or about joining us inside the shift.
- 51:28Tomorrow is going to be our last preview day.
- 51:30And I'm going to talk to you about how do we take everything
- 51:33that we talked about and declutter our brain.
- 51:36Decluttering our brain is the most important step that you can
- 51:38take because when you have a managed mind, you're going to
- 51:41take very different actions. You're going to have more
- 51:43control. You're going to be able to make
- 51:45high level decisions with lots of clarity and get unstuck.
- 51:49Thanks guys for being on today. And hopefully I will see all of
- 51:52you guys tomorrow and inside the shift.
- 51:55We'll see you guys. Bye.
- 51:59If anything in this episode sparked your interest in
- 52:01learning to manage your mind and feel better to create confidence
- 52:04in your life, come join the shift.
- 52:07We are an entire community that meets together on a weekly basis
- 52:10with an ongoing group chat. You can click on the link to
