- 0:00A subtle data point that a lot of HR leaders don't pay
- 0:03attention to enough is your customer satisfaction scores and
- 0:08your employee satisfaction, happiness and productivity
- 0:11scores. The the scores that are
- 0:14potentially connected to how much input employees have to
- 0:19decision-making to process changes to how you design the
- 0:24entire customer Journey or processes or technology overall.
- 0:28So let me tell you why I'm bringing this up.
- 0:30Up, I believe more than ever and I 2023 2024 World product teams
- 0:37marketing teams, customer success, teams, Revenue teams
- 0:42sales teams as well as HR teams need to be aligned.
- 0:47They need to be aligned from the following areas, from a sales
- 0:50perspective, from a product perspective, from a customer
- 0:53experience. And interaction perspective, if
- 0:56there are things you want to tweak things, you want to ramp
- 0:58up things, you want to change things.
- 1:00You My ad that will never be drive.
- 1:02More Revenue, more bottom line, more sales, more growth.
- 1:06I believe you need to have a team of employees that are on
- 1:10the ground floor on the, on the, on the bottom line, right?
- 1:14Your ground for employees, your your sales associates, your your
- 1:19your engineers, your your customer service reps, your your
- 1:25Partnerships Associates. What your sales associates,
- 1:28whoever you have right? Those are Are literally working
- 1:31in and out of the business trying to actually tangibly, do
- 1:36some of the new changes in strategy and Andre scoping that
- 1:39you're inevitably proposing, I believe you have to have those
- 1:43individuals that are on your ground floor, think of them like
- 1:46a like a board. A board of directors or an
- 1:48Advisory Board. Not so much of an ERG but just a
- 1:51group of 15, 20 of those ground level employees that are going
- 1:54to provide you feedback and legitimate perspective, around
- 1:59the changes that you want to. To the product.
- 2:01The changes that you want to make to the sales processes, the
- 2:03changes that you want to make from the customer experience
- 2:06perspective and you need to make sure that those individuals have
- 2:09input on those changes to make sure the changes are going to be
- 2:14changes that the actually feel they're going to be beneficial
- 2:16to the company to their own experience of the organization
- 2:20to the workflow to their output. If the make sure that the
- 2:23bandwidth that you're that you're down, increasing does not
- 2:25put them in a danger zone of potential burnout of teasing
- 2:30there, there, there there, unsatisfaction for, but for the
- 2:33company overall. And so that's why in the
- 2:36beginning of this of this rant here, which you saw me do.
- 2:38As I said, your customer and client scores from, let's call
- 2:43it can MPS perspective. Need to be the lead to be
- 2:46congruent and aligned good or bad, or indifferent with your
- 2:50employee scores, with how your employees are having success
- 2:54and, or thriving, and or having overall overall.
- 3:01What's the where I'm blanking right now?
- 3:03Overall happiness, if you will and satisfaction with their
- 3:07overall experience, if those scores are not aligned, I
- 3:10personally believe that you're in trouble as an organization.
- 3:12And I don't believe enough organizations.
- 3:14As I said prior in this episode, I don't believe enough HR teams
- 3:19that are actually getting this data on the employee side, and I
- 3:22don't believe that sales leaders, and revenue leaders.
- 3:25And CEOs are getting enough data on the, on the, on the Summer
- 3:30side and taking that data and seeing how congruent, how
- 3:33aligned, how how consistent the data is on both sides of the
- 3:37pond? I don't believe they're doing
- 3:38enough of that. Now, there's multitude of
- 3:41reasons of why but let's not even get into that.
- 3:43The punch line is that has to change.
- 3:45And so I believe in a quarterly basis, you must look at that
- 3:48data. You must say okay who who do we
- 3:51have here, right inside of this particular of side of this team
- 3:56that are on the ground floor. My day-to-day Grinders, who do
- 3:59we have here? That is Going to give thoughts
- 4:01points of views data and feedback.
- 4:04Go through those surveys, go through that feedback.
- 4:06Go through the process to raise their hand and be very brutally
- 4:09honest about their experience and how easy it is to utilize
- 4:13the technology. The tools, the changes, the
- 4:15inputs that you on the customer side and on the sales side on
- 4:18the product side, when I make and get their feedback to make
- 4:21sure that the the update to the changes that you want to
- 4:24implement, or going to be updates and changes that feel
- 4:27good to them, that are realistic that are going to not.
- 4:30Not take their bandwidth in their workflow and shoot it
- 4:32through the, the moon, where now they're going to be super
- 4:35stressed out or overworked or fuel more anxiety.
- 4:39And you also have to take the same amount of scores from your
- 4:41consumers because the end of the day Revenue was with drives a
- 4:45bit of business clearly. So you also have to make sure
- 4:48that your Cuts your customers and your consumers are happy
- 4:51with the inevitable outcomes in the product and the experiences
- 4:54that they're having. Now let me tell you even more
- 4:56how these two line, if the employees you Norman employees
- 5:00first. Guy.
- 5:00If the employees don't feel like they are heard at their
- 5:03employees, don't have a moment to raise their hand and give
- 5:05input around product adjustments, customer service
- 5:09processes changes things of that nature.
- 5:11Number one, they're not going to feel heard and recognized, which
- 5:14is going to piss them off, and make them feel just, you know,
- 5:17just gruntled and uncomfortable. Secondly, what's going to happen
- 5:20is they're not going to feel like they like they should even
- 5:24be around here but then with within the potential company and
- 5:27so they're going to start going on, although, up autopilot and
- 5:29I've seen So many colleagues, friends, family members, do
- 5:32that, where they're unhappy with the organization or sitting in
- 5:35the customer service team, they're sitting is a sales
- 5:37representative the sitting on the customer experience team,
- 5:40they're they're sitting on the product team and now you're
- 5:43watching their productivity. Their output their overall
- 5:45consistency and engagement drop-off and it's because they
- 5:49have not been heard. It's because the changes that
- 5:52you decided to implement completely Spike their bandwidth
- 5:56completely Spike. Their anxiety, put them in a
- 5:58position where it just was not really.
- 6:00List. They can, I see companies and
- 6:01teams you this all the time where they're pushing their
- 6:03sales. Teams are pushing their customer
- 6:05service teams that are on the ground floor, too hard based off
- 6:08of the needs. Their desires, the points of
- 6:11views of the consumer base, both data points, both perspectives
- 6:16must be aligned. And in my humble opinion, I
- 6:18believe you have to go lean heavily into making sure your
- 6:22people are heard, your peoples bandwidth and overall.
- 6:24Utilization rates are where they need to be and I promise you
- 6:27that will impact positively your consumers. and so, as always
- 6:32just a few thoughts, just a few perspectives will check into and
- 6:30so, as always just a few thoughts, just a few
