- 0:00Speaker 1: Country 99.1 WQIK, good morning. Thanks for listening. It's the
- 0:05Speaker 1: big show. We're leading up to Halloween spooky season. And, John,
- 0:09Speaker 1: this is such a great spooky story from you, so
- 0:11Speaker 1: I can't wait for you to tell it.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's all for all the good reasons. It
- 0:14Speaker 2: was the coolest thing that's ever happened to me. Two
- 0:17Speaker 2: years ago, my right hip was bothering me, and I
- 0:20Speaker 2: went probably a year and a half longer than I
- 0:22Speaker 2: should have before I got surgery. And so I'm limping
- 0:26Speaker 2: pretty good. inside of a Publix, the Publix on Normandy Boulevard,
- 0:30Speaker 2: the little one right there by 295. And I'm on
- 0:33Speaker 2: aisle nine. I'll never forget this. I'm on aisle nine
- 0:37Speaker 2: and I'm just kind of with my cart, you know,
- 0:38Speaker 2: and kind of, it was extra, extra bad day for
- 0:41Speaker 2: my hip. And so I'm kind of limping a little
- 0:43Speaker 2: more than usual and I'm limping. And then this guy
- 0:45Speaker 2: comes up and goes, Hey brother, you okay? And this
- 0:48Speaker 2: younger guy looks like he's about 30 years old. And
- 0:51Speaker 2: I'll never forget the way he looked. He had these
- 0:53Speaker 2: beautiful blue eyes and had a little, Leather, some kind
- 0:57Speaker 2: of something studs in his ears, earrings. And are you
- 1:00Speaker 2: doing okay? And I'm like, oh, yeah, I got a
- 1:02Speaker 2: bad hip, and I'm just a little extra hippie today.
- 1:05Speaker 2: And he goes, do you mind if I pray for you?
- 1:07Speaker 2: And I'm like, well, dude, I'll accept prayer at all times, sure.
- 1:10Speaker 2: And so I look up, and I'm looking, you know,
- 1:12Speaker 2: you're on Publix in the middle of the day, and
- 1:14Speaker 2: there's never an empty aisle. And I was looking up
- 1:18Speaker 2: to move my cart if he's going to pray for me.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I don't want to stop people from, you know, getting
- 1:22Speaker 2: around me. And so as I look up, I notice
- 1:25Speaker 2: the aisle's like empty. And I'm like, wow, that's interesting.
- 1:27Speaker 2: But I'm still trying to move my cart over a
- 1:29Speaker 2: little bit. And he puts his hand on my back.
- 1:33Speaker 2: And he asked my name. And he starts praying for me.
- 1:37Speaker 2: And just prayed that, you know, take this pain away
- 1:39Speaker 2: from him. And just, you know, healing him of his pain,
- 1:43Speaker 2: if you would, you know. And in Jesus' name, amen.
- 1:46Speaker 2: And I'm like, buddy, I appreciate that. Nice guy. I mean,
- 1:49Speaker 2: just sweet. Yeah, just a nice guy.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:51Speaker 2: And so.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I go, thank you. Thank you so much. And he said, well,
- 1:56Speaker 2: go ahead. Like, test it out. And I was like, dude,
- 2:00Speaker 2: don't make me do this in front of you. I'm thinking,
- 2:02Speaker 2: you know, that's a little weird. I start walking, and
- 2:05Speaker 2: there's no pain.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Whoa.
- 2:07Speaker 2: None.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:09Speaker 2: And I walked like four or five steps, and then
- 2:10Speaker 2: I turned back around and looked at him, kind of
- 2:12Speaker 2: like Jimmy Stewart in It's a Wonderful Life when he's
- 2:14Speaker 2: looking at Clarence. He goes, who are you? Who are you?
- 2:19Speaker 2: That was me. I did look at him, and I said,
- 2:20Speaker 2: who are you? And he said, I'm just a believer, bro.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I was like, no, no, you're more than a believer.
- 2:28Speaker 2: But then I turned my back and I said, well,
- 2:30Speaker 2: maybe that's just my mustard seed of faith.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And I said that and kind of laughed and he
- 2:35Speaker 2: patted me on the back. And I'm once again trying
- 2:37Speaker 2: to get out of the way of nobody. There's nobody
- 2:38Speaker 2: on this aisle yet. And I moved my way over
- 2:42Speaker 2: and I'm turning to my cart and I was going
- 2:44Speaker 2: to turn back and go, well, dude, where do you,
- 2:46Speaker 2: what church do you go to or whatever, you know?
- 2:48Speaker 2: I turned back to him and he's gone.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Wow.
- 2:50Speaker 2: It was all of two seconds I had turned my back.
- 2:52Speaker 2: And I go back, and he's gone.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I remember you, and this was before I was working
- 2:57Speaker 1: on the big show, just seeing you in the hall
- 2:59Speaker 1: and you telling me this story. And I was blown away.
- 3:01Speaker 1: And I just remember how moved you were by this story.
- 3:05Speaker 1: And you were just talking about it and excited about it. So, yeah,
- 3:08Speaker 1: I remember this.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yeah. And remember the two solid months that I walked
- 3:11Speaker 2: without any pain.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yep.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Wow. And then it came back, and then I had
- 3:15Speaker 2: to have surgery. And here we are two years later.
- 3:17Speaker 2: The other hip needs it. But that's a different story.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I keep going down aisle nine hoping to see his name.
- 3:21Speaker 2: He said his name was Joshua. I go up and
- 3:23Speaker 2: see the manager at Publix. And I said, do you
- 3:26Speaker 2: have cameras? I said, I don't know if I want
- 3:29Speaker 2: to see them, but maybe you want to look at this.
- 3:31Speaker 2: And he goes, no, we don't have cameras down the aisles.
- 3:33Speaker 2: And I was like, well, I got my hip healed
- 3:36Speaker 2: on aisle nine. And the manager goes, you know, I
- 3:39Speaker 2: pray for everybody that walks into this place. And I said, Wow. Well,
- 3:43Speaker 2: you got you a Miracle on Aisle 9 story to
- 3:45Speaker 2: tell now. That's cool.
- 3:46Speaker 1: You should write a book.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I know. It could be... Yeah, Angels in Publix. Yeah,
- 3:50Speaker 2: right by the wool light.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Miracle on Aisle 9.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Exactly. We continue nonstop. We would love to hear your
- 3:56Speaker 2: ghost story, spooky or not.
