Julie K. Brown Calls Out The USVI For Their Epstein Hypocrisy (Part 2) · The Epstein Chronicles

0:01
Speaker 1: Back to the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going
0:05
Speaker 1: to pick back up where we left off with the
0:07
Speaker 1: Julie K. Brown article from the Miami Herald. So, let's
0:12
Speaker 1: just get right to it. In one instance cited in
0:16
Speaker 1: the lawsuit, Cecile de Jong arranged for three young women
0:19
Speaker 1: from Europe to get student visas to enroll in a
0:22
Speaker 1: class at the University of the Virgin Islands. Ultimately, the
0:27
Speaker 1: university structured a bespoke class to enroll victims and provide
0:32
Speaker 1: cover for their presence in the territory. The same year,
0:35
Speaker 1: Epstein donated $ 20, 000 to the university through one of the
0:40
Speaker 1: company's J.P. Morgan said in a court filing. Again, all
0:44
Speaker 1: stuff we were hip to. Now, I'm glad it's all
0:47
Speaker 1: coming out now in Julie K. Brown's article, and maybe
0:50
Speaker 1: people will start taking it seriously. Cecile DeJong also steered
0:55
Speaker 1: Epstein's money to her husband's preferred candidates, according to the lawsuit.
0:59
Speaker 1: In 2014, when her husband was still in office, she
1:03
Speaker 1: wrote to Epstein about a political contribution he had given
1:07
Speaker 1: to the campaign of Kenneth Mapp, who was running to
1:10
Speaker 1: succeed her husband as governor. The Mapp campaign is going
1:14
Speaker 1: to take that money that you gave to attack John.
1:17
Speaker 1: Can we stop payment on the check to send a message,
1:20
Speaker 1: she said, according to the lawsuit. In 2016, Epstein emailed
1:25
Speaker 1: Cecile asking her, how did our candidates do? She replied
1:29
Speaker 1: that they had all won their races. Emails also show
1:33
Speaker 1: that she directed the payments from Epstein's companies be made
1:37
Speaker 1: to political action committees that benefited candidates. In 2018, she
1:42
Speaker 1: directed another Epstein employee to cut a check for $ 25, 000
1:46
Speaker 1: to a pack named Islands Engaged Incorporated. And we're not
1:52
Speaker 1: talking about ancient history here, folks. We're talking about 2018, 2016.
1:58
Speaker 1: But she learned her lesson, right? Give me a break.
2:01
Speaker 1: How much money did her and her husband profit from
2:04
Speaker 1: the backs of these young women who were being trafficked?
2:07
Speaker 1: That's the question we should all be asking ourselves. The
2:10
Speaker 1: former first lady also went to great lengths to help
2:13
Speaker 1: Epstein to get special privileges as a sex offender. Emails
2:18
Speaker 1: contained in exhibits with the case show that she worked
2:21
Speaker 1: with lawmakers to water down a new and more restrictive
2:24
Speaker 1: sex offender law in 2011. She showed Epstein a draft
2:29
Speaker 1: of the law, writing, Will this work for you? He
2:32
Speaker 1: and his lawyers suggested changes that would give him more freedom.
2:36
Speaker 1: While Epstein's changes were eventually dropped from the law, Officials, nevertheless,
2:40
Speaker 1: worked on finding a loophole for Epstein, according to the lawsuit.
2:45
Speaker 1: Cecile promised she would continue to influence lawmakers, as well
2:49
Speaker 1: as her husband's attorney general, Vincent Frazier. Ah, loopholes and technicalities.
2:54
Speaker 1: I wonder where we've heard that before. We will figure
2:58
Speaker 1: something out by coming up with a game plan to
3:00
Speaker 1: get around these obstacles. She wrote in July of 2012,
3:04
Speaker 1: adding later, We will work with Vincent to give the
3:07
Speaker 1: discretion for status quo for you. That's the least he
3:10
Speaker 1: can do. Frazier ultimately issued a waiver that allowed Epstein
3:15
Speaker 1: to travel with fewer restrictions. But it's all J.P. Morgan's fault, huh? J.P. Morgan,
3:20
Speaker 1: the bank, who is liable from a financial aspect, But
3:25
Speaker 1: it's all their fault? Everything that happened? The U.S. Virgin
3:28
Speaker 1: Islands has no responsibility here? If you look at this
3:32
Speaker 1: story and that's what you see, no offense, but you're
3:36
Speaker 1: either stupid or blind. After the publication of the Miami
3:40
Speaker 1: Herald series, Perversion of Justice, in late 2018, the territory's
3:45
Speaker 1: assistant attorney general, Carol Thomas Jacobs, rescinded Epstein's sex offender waivers,
3:51
Speaker 1: according to the lawsuit. And you know what's so pathetic
3:54
Speaker 1: about that? It took the media publishing an article about
3:57
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's bullshit to finally make the Virgin Islands react.
4:02
Speaker 1: So it's not because they cared about justice. They were
4:04
Speaker 1: trying to get ahead of this story and they were
4:06
Speaker 1: trying to make it look like they actually cared. But
4:09
Speaker 1: we all know they didn't care. If they did, Epstein
4:13
Speaker 1: would have never been able to do what he did
4:15
Speaker 1: on their island. Denise George, who was then Attorney General,
4:21
Speaker 1: testified in a deposition for the lawsuit that the territory's
4:25
Speaker 1: current governor, Albert Bryan Jr., tried to pressure her to
4:28
Speaker 1: reinstate the waivers, which, said, made her uncomfortable. Yeah, you think?
4:33
Speaker 1: Imagine your boss trying to pressure you to reinstate waivers
4:37
Speaker 1: to somebody like Jeffrey Epstein? Not every sexual offender or
4:41
Speaker 1: any person you know are in the position to have
4:43
Speaker 1: the governor make the request to the attorney general. That
4:46
Speaker 1: by itself indicated to me that Epstein was flexing his
4:50
Speaker 1: political influence over or with the governor. George said in
4:54
Speaker 1: a deposition she gave as part of the JP Morgan lawsuit.
4:59
Speaker 1: In 2022, George obtained a $ 105 million cash settlement in
5:04
Speaker 1: the racketeering lawsuit she filed against Epstein's estate. On December
5:08
Speaker 1: 27th that same year, she filed the $ 190 million lawsuit
5:13
Speaker 1: against J.P. Morgan and was promptly fired by the governor
5:17
Speaker 1: days later on New Year's Eve. Brian did not give
5:21
Speaker 1: a reason for the dismissal, but people who were briefed
5:24
Speaker 1: on the matter said Brian was angry George filed the
5:27
Speaker 1: lawsuit without consulting him. The people briefed on the matter,
5:31
Speaker 1: who were not authorized to speak publicly, said the governor
5:34
Speaker 1: was likely concerned that the USVI's own failures to monitor
5:38
Speaker 1: Epstein would come up as part of the lawsuit. Bingo. 100%.
5:44
Speaker 1: Anybody who's followed along here knows that the USVI has
5:48
Speaker 1: been in bed with Jeffrey Epstein since the very beginning. Bryan,
5:52
Speaker 1: elected in 2018... previously served as chairman of the Economic
5:57
Speaker 1: Development Commission and was a member of that commission when
6:00
Speaker 1: Epstein was awarded his lucrative tax breaks. According to the lawsuit,
6:05
Speaker 1: Epstein was asked to give $ 25, 000 towards Brian's inauguration and $ 30, 000
6:12
Speaker 1: at Brian's direction to the USVI's Little League. So he
6:16
Speaker 1: was like a piggy bank, right? As long as Epstein
6:19
Speaker 1: kept ponying up the dough, he was free to abuse
6:22
Speaker 1: and do whatever he wanted on this island. In June,
6:25
Speaker 1: Brian was also deposed as part of the J.P. Morgan lawsuit.
6:29
Speaker 1: He indicated he was not concerned about Epstein's history, referring
6:33
Speaker 1: to the 14-year-old girl Epstein admitted abusing in 2005 in
6:38
Speaker 1: the Florida case as a hooker. He also acknowledged that
6:41
Speaker 1: based on the information that he had at the time,
6:44
Speaker 1: he wasn't really interested in any of the allegations that
6:47
Speaker 1: surfaced about Epstein trafficking women and children on the island. Well,
6:52
Speaker 1: you know why, right? Because he was profiting. If he
6:56
Speaker 1: would have upset the apple cart, the bag wouldn't be
6:58
Speaker 1: there every week, and he'd have to actually, you know,
7:01
Speaker 1: get a real job. Through a spokesman, Brian apologized for
7:05
Speaker 1: the remark. I believe that we should honor and support
7:08
Speaker 1: all victims of human trafficking. That was a terrible use
7:12
Speaker 1: of language, and I should have never said that. It
7:15
Speaker 1: was disrespectful, the governor said in a statement. Yeah, more
7:19
Speaker 1: than disrespectful. This is an elected official out here talking
7:23
Speaker 1: like this about Jeffrey Epstein and his survivors? How is
7:27
Speaker 1: this guy in any position of power? Oh, that's right.
7:30
Speaker 1: The whole ass system is corrupt. He declined to answer
7:35
Speaker 1: questions about why his administration gave a well-known convicted sex
7:39
Speaker 1: offender such leeway for so many years. Oh, Myrta. J.P.
7:45
Speaker 1: Morgan alleges that USVI officials' failure to investigate Epstein reflects
7:50
Speaker 1: the Omerta-like culture, the code of silence, reminiscent of a
7:53
Speaker 1: crime family, that the territory's politicians had during the time
7:58
Speaker 1: that Epstein lived there and ran his businesses from an
8:01
Speaker 1: office complex in the Red Hook Quarter of St. Thomas.
8:05
Speaker 1: And that's because everybody profited. I don't know how many
8:07
Speaker 1: times I have to say it. When everybody's getting rich,
8:11
Speaker 1: nobody wants to upset the apple cart. To prove their case, J.P.
8:16
Speaker 1: Morgan's attorneys deposed a number of former and current USVI
8:20
Speaker 1: elected officials, including John DeJong, the former governor. Did you
8:26
Speaker 1: direct anyone on your staff to do any kind of
8:28
Speaker 1: investigation into Epstein? One of J.P. Morgan's lawyers asked during
8:32
Speaker 1: a deposition. I would not do that, DeJong replied. Why not?
8:37
Speaker 1: My assumption will be that the Department of Justice, any
8:40
Speaker 1: of the entities dealing with Jeffrey Epstein, would have done that,
8:43
Speaker 1: DeJong replied. What a bullshit excuse. What a bullshit answer.
8:48
Speaker 1: And John DeJong should lose his job. He acknowledged that
8:52
Speaker 1: he never checked or asked anyone in his administration, including
8:56
Speaker 1: his own attorney general, to check on the territory's most
8:59
Speaker 1: infamous sex offender. Frazier, attorney general for the USVI from
9:04
Speaker 1: 2007 to 2015, said in a deposition that he had
9:09
Speaker 1: the ability to investigate who Epstein was bringing into the St.
9:13
Speaker 1: Thomas airport on his private jet, but didn't believe he
9:16
Speaker 1: had any reason to do so. What a bunch of BS.
9:20
Speaker 1: The traffic controllers even knew that Jeffrey Epstein was bringing
9:24
Speaker 1: girls to this island to abuse, but the attorney general
9:27
Speaker 1: had no idea. The governor had no clue. I'm sorry,
9:31
Speaker 1: but I'm not buying it. Who he may have flown
9:35
Speaker 1: with him on his private jet, the government of the
9:38
Speaker 1: Virgin Islands officials would not know, Frazier said. In fact,
9:42
Speaker 1: nearly all of the USVI officials interviewed as part of
9:46
Speaker 1: the lawsuit acknowledged that they saw news reports about Epstein's
9:49
Speaker 1: abuse of underage girls, but said they dismissed the stories
9:53
Speaker 1: as sensational rumors. JP Morgan's documents show that no one
9:58
Speaker 1: in the USVI law enforcement considered investigating Epstein, even though
10:02
Speaker 1: many of the news stories during this time were based
10:06
Speaker 1: on the federal lawsuits containing sworn affidavits by almost two
10:09
Speaker 1: dozen girls alleging Epstein had molested them. So yeah, let's
10:14
Speaker 1: just ignore everything because this guy's our patron saint of douchebags.
10:19
Speaker 1: And hopefully some of you out there who are wondering
10:21
Speaker 1: why I was so adamant about the Virgin Islands not
10:24
Speaker 1: getting a single cent, maybe you're starting to catch on now.
10:28
Speaker 1: One victim who did fly on Epstein's plane to his island,
10:31
Speaker 1: Sarah Ransom, said she is angry that no one, including
10:35
Speaker 1: the USVI's Attorney General, US Customs and Border Patrol, as
10:39
Speaker 1: well as the FBI, ever did anything to stop Epstein.
10:43
Speaker 1: Ransom was 22 when she was lured to the island
10:46
Speaker 1: in 2006 for what she thought would be a social gathering.
10:51
Speaker 1: Born in South Africa, Ransom had hoped to study fashion
10:55
Speaker 1: in New York. Epstein told her he had connections at
10:58
Speaker 1: the Fashion Institute of Technology and would help her achieve
11:01
Speaker 1: her dream. Instead, she said, she was raped by Epstein
11:05
Speaker 1: dozens of times over the course of a year. In
11:09
Speaker 1: an interview with the Herald, Ransom said that Epstein had
11:12
Speaker 1: carte blanche in the USVI. Only once did she recall
11:16
Speaker 1: an official scrutinizing her passport, and that was when she
11:19
Speaker 1: was arriving on a commercial plane. And this is what
11:23
Speaker 1: we've heard over and over. And you ask me, well,
11:25
Speaker 1: how do you know this stuff? Listen to what the
11:27
Speaker 1: survivors are saying. Don't listen to the journalists. Don't listen
11:31
Speaker 1: to all the jerk-offs spreading rumors and salacious BS on
11:35
Speaker 1: the internet. Listen to the survivors, the people who actually,
11:38
Speaker 1: you know, lived through it. They might have some information
11:42
Speaker 1: that is crucial to the story, you know? She doesn't
11:45
Speaker 1: remember anyone ever checking her passport or belongings when she
11:49
Speaker 1: arrived on Epstein's private plane. His passengers always deplaned and
11:54
Speaker 1: went directly to a helicopter or a boat for the
11:57
Speaker 1: trip to St. James, where they were greeted by a
11:59
Speaker 1: cheerful staff that she said seemed to normalize the promiscuity
12:04
Speaker 1: and sexual activity that happened on the island. Look, this
12:08
Speaker 1: is their normal, right? This is how they roll. So
12:11
Speaker 1: for everybody involved, it was normal. To the rest of us,
12:15
Speaker 1: it's as abnormal as it comes. This gross ass, disgusting ass,
12:20
Speaker 1: egg dick motherfucker. And there are a few people that
12:23
Speaker 1: I can actually say that I hate. This man is
12:26
Speaker 1: one of them. And anybody that ever gave him any help,
12:29
Speaker 1: anybody that ever enabled them, they can go get fucked too.
12:34
Speaker 1: Where was the FBI, Ransom said. I was being trafficked
12:37
Speaker 1: while the FBI was investigating him. They could have picked
12:40
Speaker 1: up the phone and called to find out what was
12:42
Speaker 1: going on. Ransom, who is suing the FBI for its
12:46
Speaker 1: failure to stop Epstein, said it's clear the USVI also
12:49
Speaker 1: looked the other way for years, and as a result,
12:53
Speaker 1: she and other victims continued to be sexually abused. The
12:57
Speaker 1: government should not be rewarded for its complicity. Man, I
13:01
Speaker 1: really hope that Sarah Ransom decides to sue the US
13:04
Speaker 1: Virgin Islands as well, because if anybody ever deserved to
13:08
Speaker 1: get a lawsuit dropped on their ass, it's these people.
13:12
Speaker 1: How dare the USVI, which allowed hundreds of women to
13:16
Speaker 1: be trafficked, how dare they profit from what happened? Windfall.
13:21
Speaker 1: Thus far, the USVI has collected $ 105 million in cash
13:25
Speaker 1: settlements with Epstein's estate, $ 30 million from the sale of
13:29
Speaker 1: Epstein's Islands, and another $ 62. 5 million in cash from Epstein
13:34
Speaker 1: client and private equity investor Leon Black, who denied any
13:39
Speaker 1: wrongdoing while paying the settlement. it is seeking another $ 190
13:44
Speaker 1: million from J.P. Morgan. They're not going to get that. J.P.
13:48
Speaker 1: Morgan's fighting tooth and nail here, and they're not going
13:50
Speaker 1: to give up. They've already spent more than $ 14 million
13:53
Speaker 1: defending themselves here, and I highly doubt they're going to
13:57
Speaker 1: pony up a settlement to the U.S. Virgin Islands. Not
14:00
Speaker 1: with everything that they know. Government officials say the proceeds
14:05
Speaker 1: will benefit the territory's victims of sexual abuse to prevent
14:09
Speaker 1: human trafficking, and investigate sex crimes. But critics point out
14:14
Speaker 1: that oversight of the fund could be problematic in a
14:16
Speaker 1: territory with a history of public corruption. Critics, maybe she's
14:21
Speaker 1: talking about me, because I feel like I'm the only
14:23
Speaker 1: person that's been talking about this. Marcy Hamilton, the executive
14:29
Speaker 1: director of Child USA, a think tank fighting for the
14:32
Speaker 1: civil rights of children, has been working with the USVI
14:36
Speaker 1: officials to help set up the territory's anti-trafficking initiatives. She
14:41
Speaker 1: said the money that the government has received from Epstein-related
14:45
Speaker 1: settlements will be used to launch training programs for law enforcement,
14:49
Speaker 1: child care workers, and education and health care professionals. It's
14:53
Speaker 1: sex tourism, Hamilton said. We see it in Thailand and
14:57
Speaker 1: the Philippines, but it's also here in the Caribbean. Because
15:00
Speaker 1: it's part of our tourism and because it's their primary income,
15:03
Speaker 1: it is almost a cancer. This is not sex tourism.
15:07
Speaker 1: Please do not try and frame it as that. This
15:10
Speaker 1: was a human trafficking operation that was burrowed deep within
15:15
Speaker 1: the political structure, deep within the financial sector, and certainly
15:20
Speaker 1: more than sex tourism, okay? The USVI's Victims of Human
15:25
Speaker 1: Trafficking Prevention Act has mandatory reporting requirements as well as
15:30
Speaker 1: extensive services for trafficking victims. So basically this Marcy Hamilton
15:34
Speaker 1: lady's been brought in to whitewash what's happening? And if so,
15:38
Speaker 1: and if she starts trying to gaslight us, she's going
15:40
Speaker 1: to get eviscerated on this podcast. I look at the
15:44
Speaker 1: USVI as laying down the gauntlet and saying no more.
15:48
Speaker 1: This is one of the most progressive laws on sex
15:50
Speaker 1: trafficking in the nation, Hamilton said. Give me a break.
15:54
Speaker 1: Where were you before? So because they have some new
15:57
Speaker 1: laws on the books, we should just all jump for joy?
16:00
Speaker 1: Not going to happen. There needs to be a reckoning.
16:04
Speaker 1: There needs to be people held to account for the
16:06
Speaker 1: BS they've already done. The legal settlements are nevertheless a
16:11
Speaker 1: windfall for a country that faces serious economic and financial challenges.
16:16
Speaker 1: A recent bond report noted that the Epstein settlement would
16:20
Speaker 1: temporarily alleviate the government's financial distress. The U.S. Government Accountability
16:25
Speaker 1: Office recently cited the USVI's debt and weak financial management
16:30
Speaker 1: practices as factors in its financial instability. The territory also
16:36
Speaker 1: has a history of corruption involving misspent public funds. In 2013,
16:44
Speaker 1: Former USVI Senator Alvin Williams pleaded guilty of federal racketeering
16:48
Speaker 1: charges involving bribery of a USVI official and for soliciting
16:53
Speaker 1: bribes from numerous developers and using his tax-supported staff for
16:58
Speaker 1: his personal use. In 2018, another former senator, Wayne A.G. James,
17:04
Speaker 1: was convicted of stealing tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars
17:08
Speaker 1: he received to fund a a historical research project that
17:11
Speaker 1: was actually used to pay his own campaign and personal expenses.
17:17
Speaker 1: The former governor, DeJong, was arrested in 2015 on charges
17:21
Speaker 1: of embezzling $ 500, 000 in public money to make improvements to
17:26
Speaker 1: his private home. Emails from the USVI lawsuit against Morgan
17:30
Speaker 1: show Epstein offered to help DeJong by loaning him money
17:34
Speaker 1: and offering suggestions to the prosecutor in the case. I
17:38
Speaker 1: will play any role in this you guys like, wrote Epstein.
17:42
Speaker 1: I can lend John the money so he immediately has it.
17:45
Speaker 1: I would gladly be on the phone anonymously with the
17:48
Speaker 1: prosecutor offering suggestions. In one of the JP Morgan court filings,
17:53
Speaker 1: DeJong on December 27th, 2015, emailed Epstein asking for a
17:59
Speaker 1: loan to help pay the settlement. Per our previous conversation,
18:03
Speaker 1: DeJong wrote, I would like to take you up on
18:05
Speaker 1: your offer and request to borrow $ 215, 000. I really appreciate
18:11
Speaker 1: your willingness to help. The criminal case against DeJong, who
18:15
Speaker 1: denied any wrongdoing, was subsequently dropped after he paid a
18:19
Speaker 1: settlement of $ 380, 000. Yeah, but the USVI wasn't in Epstein's pocket.
18:27
Speaker 1: JP Morgan alleges that some of the USVI's most veteran
18:31
Speaker 1: lawmakers were heavily influenced by Epstein's money. Among those named
18:36
Speaker 1: in a subpoena for the JP Morgan lawsuit is Celestino A.
18:40
Speaker 1: White Sr., an 11-term senator in the USVI's legislature who
18:45
Speaker 1: is also a member of the board that oversees the airport.
18:49
Speaker 1: Emails include in the lawsuit, Discoveries show that White's consulting
18:54
Speaker 1: and management firm sent Epstein a contract for unexplained services
18:58
Speaker 1: for his island. Oh, I wonder what that was for.
19:02
Speaker 1: Senator White signed the contractor's agreement and the confidentiality agreement.
19:07
Speaker 1: We will need to get him a check for $ 10, 000
19:09
Speaker 1: by Friday, Cecile DeJong wrote to Epstein. Approved, Epstein wrote back.
19:15
Speaker 1: In 2015, Cecile DeJong suggested to Epstein you may want
19:19
Speaker 1: to consider putting Celestino on some sort of monthly retainer.
19:23
Speaker 1: That is what will get you his loyalty and his access.
19:27
Speaker 1: The Herald was unsuccessful in reaching White. There is no
19:31
Speaker 1: indication in the lawsuit whether he was ever placed on
19:34
Speaker 1: retainer by Epstein. For the USVI's airport authority and the
19:38
Speaker 1: federal marshals, Epstein had friendly relations there too, emails show.
19:44
Speaker 1: In 2010, Epstein wrote in an email to Cecile Dijon
19:47
Speaker 1: complaining that he was having difficulty with an official from
19:51
Speaker 1: the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol at Cyril E. King
19:55
Speaker 1: Airport on St. Thomas, where Epstein's pilots would fly in
19:59
Speaker 1: and out on his private jet. Emails indicate that Epstein
20:03
Speaker 1: knew some of them personally. Who was in charge of
20:06
Speaker 1: customs in the V.I.? I used to have a great
20:08
Speaker 1: relationship with Gloria Lambert, the airport supervisor. I would like
20:13
Speaker 1: to know who is now in her place or her boss.
20:16
Speaker 1: Epstein wrote to Cecile Dijon, referring to a customs official
20:20
Speaker 1: at the airport. Dijon promised a call would be made
20:24
Speaker 1: to the head of customs. Lambert, now retired, told the
20:27
Speaker 1: Miami Herald that she was under the impression the young
20:30
Speaker 1: women who accompanied Epstein were models. She didn't suspect any
20:34
Speaker 1: of them were being trafficked or were underage. If I
20:38
Speaker 1: were aware, I would have taken the initiative, but there
20:42
Speaker 1: was nothing suspicious when I dealt with Mr. Epstein and
20:45
Speaker 1: his passengers, Lambert said. In another email, Cecile de Jong
20:49
Speaker 1: solicited Epstein's support for her husband's proposed appointee to the
20:54
Speaker 1: Virgin Islands Port Authority, which controls the airport. He worked
20:58
Speaker 1: his tail off on the campaign, she wrote of the nominee.
21:02
Speaker 1: Epstein gave other perks to former Governor DeJong and his wife,
21:06
Speaker 1: including paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in private grade
21:09
Speaker 1: school and college tuition for their children, according to the
21:13
Speaker 1: lawsuit discovery documents. In 2010, for instance, Cecile became irate
21:19
Speaker 1: when Epstein failed to pay a $ 25, 000 bill tuition for
21:23
Speaker 1: one year for one of her children. I will need
21:26
Speaker 1: to negotiate a raise so that I can afford to
21:29
Speaker 1: pay for my children's tuition at college. The first lady
21:32
Speaker 1: wrote to Epstein, John and I have put money into
21:35
Speaker 1: the campaign based on what we thought was going to
21:38
Speaker 1: happen with the tuition payments. My oldest is a senior
21:41
Speaker 1: this year, and I do not want him or my
21:43
Speaker 1: daughter to be asked to leave school this semester. Meanwhile,
21:47
Speaker 1: all of these poor, vulnerable girls on the island are
21:51
Speaker 1: getting abused with school being the last thing on their mind.
21:55
Speaker 1: But as long as the politician... Cecile Dijon's kids are
21:59
Speaker 1: in school. Everything's all good. The predator Epstein's free to
22:02
Speaker 1: roam around and do whatever the fuck he wants. Stacey Plaskett.
22:07
Speaker 1: In June 2014, Cecile Dijon asked Epstein to help an
22:12
Speaker 1: up-and-coming political star, Stacey Plaskett, get elected as a delegate
22:16
Speaker 1: to Congress representing the USVI. Plaskett's parents, were born in St. Croix, USVI,
22:23
Speaker 1: but moved to Brooklyn, New York, where Plaskett was born
22:26
Speaker 1: and attended Choate Rosemary Hall as a boarding student. After
22:31
Speaker 1: graduating from Georgetown University and American University Law School, she
22:36
Speaker 1: became a Republican assistant district attorney in the Bronx. She
22:41
Speaker 1: then worked as an attorney for the U.S. House Ethics
22:44
Speaker 1: Committee and later as a lawyer in the Justice Department.
22:47
Speaker 1: In 2007, she moved to the Virgin Islands and worked
22:51
Speaker 1: in private practice before turning her attention to running for office,
22:55
Speaker 1: changing her party affiliation to Democrat in 2014. So this
23:00
Speaker 1: is your hero, huh? The lady that was up here
23:03
Speaker 1: castigating other Americans? Meanwhile, she's eating out of Jeffrey Epstein's palm.
23:09
Speaker 1: Talk about fucking hypocrisy. She needs to raise about $ 75, 000
23:14
Speaker 1: between now and August, Cecile Dijon wrote in an email
23:17
Speaker 1: to Epstein. Do you think any of your friends would
23:20
Speaker 1: give to her campaign? Plaskett already knew of Epstein as
23:24
Speaker 1: she had been an attorney on the USVI's Economic Development
23:28
Speaker 1: Commission at the time that Epstein's tax breaks were approved,
23:32
Speaker 1: then worked for Epstein's longtime USVI attorney, Erica Kellerhals. And
23:37
Speaker 1: I remember when we were first talking about Stacey Plaskett,
23:40
Speaker 1: there were some ideologues who listened to the podcast who
23:43
Speaker 1: got bent out of shape, calling the reports a political
23:46
Speaker 1: hit job, all kinds of shit. But the reality is this.
23:49
Speaker 1: Stacey Plaskett is corrupt, okay? Point blank, period. In a
23:55
Speaker 1: deposition given in May in the USVI lawsuit, Plaskett said
23:59
Speaker 1: she didn't recall whether she did any legal work for
24:02
Speaker 1: Epstein or his companies while working for Keller Halls. although
24:06
Speaker 1: she acknowledged that Epstein was a client of the firm
24:09
Speaker 1: at the time. You know, since Stacey Plaskett likes commissions
24:13
Speaker 1: so much, I think we should have a commission put
24:15
Speaker 1: together by Congress, by the Senate, that looks into all
24:19
Speaker 1: these corrupt politicians who are wetting their beak in Egg
24:22
Speaker 1: Dick's hand. How about that kind of commission? I wonder
24:25
Speaker 1: if Stacey Plaskett would enjoy that. From 2014 until 2018,
24:31
Speaker 1: Epstein and his business associates donated a little over $ 30, 000
24:36
Speaker 1: to Plaskett's campaigns. She confirmed during the deposition. She also
24:41
Speaker 1: acknowledged that she visited Epstein's Manhattan mansion as recently as
24:45
Speaker 1: 2018 in a bid to get him to contribute money
24:49
Speaker 1: to the Democratic Party. This is in 2018. The Democratic
24:54
Speaker 1: Party is asking Epstein for money Nobody's gonna be up
24:58
Speaker 1: in a tizzy about that, huh? Where's the outrage? Where
25:02
Speaker 1: is the legacy media demanding accountability? Epstein offered what she
25:07
Speaker 1: asked for, again $ 30, 000, but the Democratic National Committee ultimately
25:12
Speaker 1: rejected the contribution. Well, they knew better. But the fact
25:16
Speaker 1: of the matter is this. This woman shouldn't be there
25:19
Speaker 1: even trying to get this money on behalf of anybody,
25:22
Speaker 1: never mind a major political party in 2018 after we
25:26
Speaker 1: already knew what sort of monster Jeffrey Epstein was. Plaskett
25:31
Speaker 1: was asked why the DNC had declined Epstein's donations. He
25:35
Speaker 1: had not passed their vetting, Plaskett replied. What did you
25:38
Speaker 1: understand that to be a reference to? The J.P. Morgan
25:42
Speaker 1: lawyer asked. I did not know the specifics of what
25:45
Speaker 1: that vetting was, Plaskett said, but she took the money.
25:49
Speaker 1: You don't have the same exact standards as your party?
25:52
Speaker 1: That's interesting. I wonder why. She was then asked whether
25:56
Speaker 1: that caused her to rethink taking contributions from Epstein. I
26:00
Speaker 1: recall thinking if I should continue receiving contributions from him,
26:04
Speaker 1: she replied, according to the transcript. And for years, Plaskett
26:08
Speaker 1: resisted returning Epstein's donations. She reasoned that his felony sex
26:12
Speaker 1: charges in Palm Beach had nothing to do with the
26:15
Speaker 1: money he earned through his company. But after Epstein's 2019
26:19
Speaker 1: arrest by the FBI, she faced even more scrutiny about
26:23
Speaker 1: her connections to Epstein. She eventually relented and said she
26:27
Speaker 1: would donate the money to support the USVI organizations that
26:31
Speaker 1: help women and children. The Herald tried to get details
26:35
Speaker 1: to confirm the donations and the amounts, but Plaskett's office
26:38
Speaker 1: did not respond to multiple inquiries. Imagine a public official
26:43
Speaker 1: refusing to respond to some shit like this and nobody
26:46
Speaker 1: in the legacy media really picking it up or pressing them.
26:50
Speaker 1: Where's all the big articles in the New York Times?
26:53
Speaker 1: Or how about the New York Post? Oh, wait, they're
26:55
Speaker 1: too busy chasing down Dave Portnoy over his all important
26:58
Speaker 1: pizza reviews. Meanwhile, people like Stacey Plaskett continue to swim
27:03
Speaker 1: under the radar without any sort of scrutiny and without
27:07
Speaker 1: any sort of accountability. But hopefully that's going to come
27:10
Speaker 1: to an end because they can't frame this as a
27:12
Speaker 1: political hit job. What this is, is exposing Stacey Plaskett
27:17
Speaker 1: for her nonsensical relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and the fact
27:21
Speaker 1: that she doubled down on that relationship a mere months
27:25
Speaker 1: before this man was arrested a second time. And hopefully
27:28
Speaker 1: this leads to a lawsuit filed against the U.S. Virgin
27:32
Speaker 1: Islands by the survivors. They deserve to have every last
27:36
Speaker 1: bit of money that the U.S. Virgin Islands took from
27:39
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's estate from anybody else and have that money
27:42
Speaker 1: directly deposited in their bank accounts instead. Because there is
27:47
Speaker 1: no doubt that the U.S. Virgin Islands was complicit in
27:50
Speaker 1: what Epstein was up to. All right, folks, that's going
27:54
Speaker 1: to do it for this one. If you'd like to
27:55
Speaker 1: contact me, you can do that at bobbycapucci at protonmail.com.
