  That means we don't have 15 MLB games every day to break down.

  We have no more NBA. That's been gone a while.

  NH LS been gone a while. We do have some WNBA, but pretty

  much that's it. So the All Star break this week,

  we do have baseball returning on, I think it's Friday, yeah,

  Friday, July 18th. So we're just going to continue

  to grind the slowest time of the year.

  night classic, the All Star game American League versus the

  National League at Truest Park in Atlanta, GA, home of the

  Braves here for tonight. And I have a play on the game.

  I got a little bit of a lean. I have an official best bet and

  I think you have a pretty good contrarian angle here.

  But the key to the play tonight is finding and shopping and
• 2:54
  hunting down the the important key number here, which again,
• 2:59
  it's not 37610 NFL, but it's a key number for a total.

  So a little hint in there. So one play for it tonight, guys

  and then we're going to see if we can again, kind of just wait
• 3:10
  out until the madness returns. Now looking back to our last

  night, 1 and 1 -, 0.13 units pretty much had about the

  greatest start to the Home Run Derby you can possibly have.

  Because remember we talked about the over 479 1/2 longest home

  run. We were talking about how the

  weather looked pretty good. Shout out to our guy Kevin Roth

  at Roto Grinders. We talked about how it was humid

  and hot and the wind was blowing out.

  And then also we were kind of playing these numbers off each

  other because Caesar's and DraftKings had 479 1/2 juiced

  over, but some other books had 480 and a half, 481 1/2.

  Well, hey, that was as good as it gets because the first batter

  of the Home Run Derby, James Wood, the big man on the in the

  nationals part of that Juan Soto deal, he blasted a 486 foot home

  run. I think it was maybe the tenth

  pitch of the Derby and boom, just like that we catch the the

  over and I think O'Neill Cruz might hit like 3 or 4 that were

  well over that as well. So we got our longest home run

  prop, which is nice. However, we did lose the

  Valkyries. Come on, Valkyries then up
• 4:13
  losing by one point. So that was a tough one.

  They lost 78 to 77, came up a little bit short there.

  They had a chance to tie it and win it.

  And actually they committed a foul with one second left.

  It was tied at 77. Committed a foul with one second

  left. I didn't watch the game.

  I had no opportunity to watch it and I hope it was a real foul

  because it was a cheapie and we lost on.

  And again the girl went to the line and she missed the first

  one. I'm like, oh, miss again.

  We go to overtime. Nope, had to make it.

  And that was it. So kind of an annoying loss of

  the Valkyrie's losing by 1 on a foul with one second left.

  But either way, guys, 1 and 1 -, 0.13 minutes.

  We'll see if we can go one and O tonight with our play on the All

  Star game. Now before we get into today's

  pod again, it gonna be a little bit of a short one because we're

  just talking the All Star game for tonight.

  the next two days and maybe the rest of the week because

  tomorrow I am leaving for Santa Barbara, CA.

  I'm actually going to my wife's aunt's celebration of life slash

  service slash funeral. So, you know, usually we go out

  And I talk about how I always want to move to the West Coast.

  Well, we'll have a celebration of life, but it is a little bit

  somber because we are going out there for a funeral.

  But with that being said, I'm leaving tomorrow and I'm coming

  Look for a data-driven sharp play.

  And this one in particular to me is a big contrarian play as

  well. So tonight's game will be played

  at Truest Park, 8:00 PM Eastern Time.

  First pitch the American League versus the National League

  starting pitchers for this one. Got to mention it.

  But again, these guys are only going to go an inning.

  So you're going to get a new pitcher every inning.

  But the AL is going to go with the Tigers lefty Tarx Google 10

  and three 2.23. ERANL goes with the righty Paul

  Skeens 4:00 and 8:00. But don't worry about the win.

  Loss record guys. Awesome. 2 point O 1 ERA.

  So what do we see across the market for this one?

  Well, my lean again, a lean is a game for me that kind of checks
• 8:22
  off a few boxes. I like, but maybe there's a red
• 8:24
  flag. Maybe it's kind of something
• 8:26
  that I'm I'm I'm liking a bit, but not officially a best bet.
• 8:30
  My lean is the National League based on what the data is
• 8:32
  telling me, because we open this game at basically a pick em -110
• 8:36
  both sides. You had some books open the
• 8:39
  National League, a slight -115 home favorite, the American
• 8:42
  League, a - 1 O five row dog. The reason why I call it a lean
• 8:46
  is for two reasons. 1 is that the line has moved a bit here
• 8:50
  toward the National League. The National League is gone from
• 8:52
  -110 -, 115 up to round -120 so we are seeing a little bit of
• 8:57
  movement toward the National League.
• 8:59
  You also look at the bet splits from DraftKings.
• 9:02
  Again, only game in town, very heavily back game again, don't
• 9:05
  have the stakes like before the winner gets home with home field
• 9:08
  advantage in the World Series. You can call it an exhibition,
• 9:11
  but still, you know, if you think we're dying for bets
• 9:14
  tonight, you know the public is too.
• 9:16
  So they're going to bet this because there's really nothing
• 9:18
  else to bet on tonight. But anyway, the public doesn't
• 9:21
  know what to do for this one. Basically, the tickets at
• 9:24
  DraftKings are right down the middle 5050.
• 9:27
  However, even though it's 5050 and what we always talk about,
• 9:29
  5050 bets split theoretically in a vacuum, no reason for the odds
• 9:33
  makers to move the number up or down, no reason to adjust the
• 9:36
  price because you got balanced action, both sides.
• 9:38
  However, even though it's 5050, we have seen that little bit of
• 9:41
  movement toward the National League up to -115 or -120 So
• 9:46
  that tells me I got to respect the NL here.
• 9:48
  I did like a little bit of low bets, higher dollars bet splits
• 9:51
  for the NL as well because they're only getting half the
• 9:54
  tickets, but 59% of the dollars. So again, little bit of line
• 9:59
  movement, 5050 line move, and you do have that low bets,
• 10:03
  higher dollar split. Here's why I'm leaning NL, but
• 10:06
  I'm not playing it. If you have been living under a
• 10:09
  rock or maybe you don't track, and I'm not going to blame you
• 10:12
  how these All Star games have gone.
• 10:14
  The American League has absolutely dominated the All
• 10:17
  Star game. If you look at the last 10 All
• 10:19
  Star games, the American League is 9 and one.
• 10:22
  If you look at the last like 25, I don't have the number in front
• 10:26
  of me, but I think they're like, I don't know, 18 and seven or
• 10:29
  like 20 and 5 or just some ridiculous record where the
• 10:32
  American League absolutely crushes this thing.
• 10:35
  Again, these games are typically close, but the American League
• 10:39
  more often than not and very lopsidedly typically wins this
• 10:42
  game. So my angle here is I don't I I
• 10:45
  want to respect and if you're putting a gun in my head, I'll
• 10:47
  go NL based on a little bit of line movement, low bets, higher
• 10:50
  dollars, 5050 line move. But because the AL always wins
• 10:53
  this thing, I don't really want to go up against that.
• 10:56
  And you can call it a trend, you can call it a system, whatever
• 10:58
  you want, but that gives me a little bit of pause.

  So I said to myself, you know what?
• 11:04
  Even though I got this kind of slight indicator toward the NL,
• 11:08
  however, I don't want to go against the AL, which always
• 11:10
  wins this thing. So let's look at the total.

  I do have a play for you guys tonight.

  It is the total and it's the under, but you got to get the
• 11:18
  hook, you got to get 7 1/2. So this total open at 7:00 and
• 11:22
  the public says it's got to go over.
• 11:24
  Currently, right now you are getting 78% of bets playing the
• 11:30
  over. So you are getting pretty much
• 11:32
  just everyone playing the over at this point.
• 11:35
  They expect this total to fly over.
• 11:37
  It's a very low number, so it's got to go over, right?
• 11:41
  However, even though everyone's playing the over and again,
• 11:43
  heavily bet big public play toward the over, the total
• 11:46
  really hasn't moved off A7. Now it is being juiced up 7 / -,
• 11:51
  115 -, 120. So we have to admit the odds
• 11:54
  makers are forcing you to pay a little bit higher of a price to
• 11:58
  play the over. But here's why I see some value
• 12:01
  on the under number one. It's a bit of a line freeze.
• 12:04
  If everyone's playing this over 8 out of 10 bets heavily bet
• 12:07
  game prime time on Fox tonight. Why aren't we at 7 1/2?
• 12:11
  Why hasn't this gone up to 8? You know, even though they're
• 12:13
  making you pay more juice, they are really reluctant.
• 12:16
  The odds makers are to go to 7 1/2.
• 12:19
  Now if you look at the line history, and again, I'm going to
• 12:21

  You're going to get all the opening or the opening number,

  Let's just click FanDuel. I click that little box and then

  on the right, it's going to pull up the entire line history.

  So it's not just going to show you open and current, but all

  the moves in between. And if you look at basically the
• 13:02
  line history, full complete line history across the market, even
• 13:06
  though it opened at 7 and still at 7, there have been brief
• 13:09
  moments where it's gone to 7 1/2.
• 13:12
  And again, you'll see this and you'll see the timestamp
• 13:14
  actually how long it stayed there.
• 13:16
  But every time it's gone to 7 1/2, it's immediately, pretty
• 13:20
  much within a minute or two, come right back down to seven.
• 13:24
  So what does that tell us? It tells us that even though the
• 13:26
  public is hammering the over and the odds makers are getting so
• 13:29
  much public money on the over, anytime they go to 7 1/2,
• 13:33
  they're getting hit by a ton of sharp buyback, wiseguy buyback
• 13:37
  playing the under 7 1/2. So every time the hook has
• 13:40
  become available, sharps have scooped, scooped it up, brought
• 13:43
  it right back down to seven. So with that in mind, we are
• 13:47
  kind of building a case here for the under.
• 13:50
  It's not like this open at 7:00 and it's down to 6 1/2.
• 13:52
  But if you look at it the other way, I always like to see where
• 13:55
  does buy back hit at this point. You know, it's the seven and a
• 13:57
  half. You also look at how long does a
• 14:00
  line stay at that number. You know, if it's if it opened
• 14:02
  up at 7, it went to seven half and still 7 1/2.
• 14:06
  Hey, maybe that's not as much sharp money under because
• 14:08
  they're still willing to hang that hook.
• 14:10
  But no, this hook keeps disappearing.
• 14:12
  Tells me that wise guys are hunting this number and as soon
• 14:15
  as the hook hook pops up, they're hitting it, causing it
• 14:19
  to fall. So a little bit of liability,
• 14:21
  kind of line freeze or reverse line movement back down to
• 14:23
  seven. We also have a just straight up
• 14:26
  contrarian play. Like in terms of the side, it's
• 14:29
  5050. Yeah, more money, NL in line
• 14:32
  movement toward NL. But if I'm betting NL, I'm
• 14:34
  really not against the public. I feel like I might be with the
• 14:37
  sharps based on the line move and the low bets, higher
• 14:39
  dollars, but I'm not against the public.
• 14:41
  If you're playing the under tonight, you are clearly against
• 14:44
  the public because the under is only getting 23% of tickets here
• 14:49
  and a heavily bet prime time game.
• 14:51
  Now we mentioned the the weather yesterday, a little bit of
• 14:55
  weather in terms of the under here.
• 14:57
  We had wind blowing out last night for the Derby, but tonight
• 14:59
  it's going to be mid 80's. The wind is blowing in from left
• 15:03
  center so that's a good sign here.
• 15:05
  And then I mentioned to you the American League is 9 and one in
• 15:08
  the last 10 All Star games. But here are the last ten final
• 15:12
  scores, 5 to 3, three to 2/3 to 2/5 to 2/4 to 3/8 to six.

  That was a high scoring 1/2 to 1/4 to 2/6 to 3/5 to three.

  So if you do a little bit of math, you take all those totals,

  add them all up, divide by the 10 games, you get an average
• 15:32
  combined total of 7.2. Now why is that important?

  Because if you are playing this under with me, you have got to
• 15:40
  get the hook. I would hate to see this game.

  You know, you take under 7, it lands on 7.

  It's a four to three-game. It's a 5 to 2 game.

  With that being said, pretty much every book is at 7, but

  there's one book that I get I found 7 1/2 at and you know
• 15:55
  what? Right before I recorded this

  pod, it was still available. It's ESPN bet.

  Right now. ESPN bet is the only pretty much
• 16:05
  of it widely available. There's a couple others, but
• 16:08
  they're not really what I would call widely available.

  But that under 7F ESPN bet is pretty much the only widely
• 16:14
  available book that is giving you the hook.

  Now you got to pay a little juice.

  It's 7 1/2 under -130 again. But the point here is I'm
• 16:23
  willing to pay that extra juice if I can get that extra half
• 16:26
  run. So again, last 10 deck, last 10

  games, last decade, 7.2 runs. Again, you can't technically
• 16:34
  land on 7.2. It's either 7 or 8 or 6.

  You know, obviously full numbers here, but it gives me a little
• 16:40
  more confidence that if we get a little more of the same, if we
• 16:44
  can just get seven runs or less, you can cash in under 7 1/2 and
• 16:48
  not not push A7. So that's my play guys.

  Again, we've got we've got the public hammering the over, but
• 16:54
  the odds really don't want to move.

  If you read between the lines, that tells me sharps really
• 16:58
  don't want to put out that 7 1/2 and anytime they do, it keeps

  coming right back down to seven. So that is my play for tonight,
• 17:05
  guys. I'm going under 7 1/2 and I got
• 17:08
  that under 7 1/2 -, 130 at ESPN Bet.

  Now you might be asking yourself, Josh, what if I don't
• 17:16
  have any ESPN Bet account? Or what do I do if I only have a
• 17:19
  book at 7:00? What I would do is I would wait.
• 17:22
  I'd wait between now and 8:00. You know, some, some, some books
• 17:28
  and some services even let you set up something called like a
• 17:31
  line watcher. So you can put in a number and
• 17:33
  if it goes to that number, you get alerted.
• 17:36
  There's one in particular that I site that I know that does that,
• 17:39
  but you may not have access to that.
• 17:41
  What I would do is stare at your odds logic live odds page.
• 17:44
  Keep an eye on the juice. Look at all the numbers across
• 17:47
  the market and if you can spot a hook, that's the play you make.
• 17:52
  Now let's say you can't get a 7 or 7 1/2.
• 17:54
  You can only get 7. Well, you can lay off, you can
• 17:57
  take under 7. Totally up to you, but I would
• 18:01
  just highly recommend jumping on that ESPN bet number or if you
• 18:05
  want to wait it out, see it between now and then you can.
• 18:08
  And again, you got to really track it because it might be up
• 18:11
  to 7 1/2 for two minutes and then come right back down to
• 18:13
  seven. So again, find that hook.
• 18:16
  But that's my play. I'm looking for hopefully a low
• 18:18
  scoring game in the All Star game.
