- 0:06Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to No Dribble, the podcasts where we
- 0:08Speaker 1: talk about netball, but we talk about so much more.
- 0:11Speaker 1: And in a week where we're seeing alarming heide increases
- 0:14Speaker 1: in wing defenses around the world, we still come together
- 0:17Speaker 1: in strength and solidarity. I'm Carolyn Swindell. I am caath Cox,
- 0:21Speaker 1: I am Liz Ellis. Yay, good morning, and where are
- 0:24Speaker 1: you joining us from?
- 0:25Speaker 2: Liz? I'm still in Radelaide?
- 0:27Speaker 1: So was there something on there?
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yeah? Well there was actually quite a bit on this weekend.
- 0:32Speaker 2: So sure there was a Diamonds match where the Diamonds
- 0:35Speaker 2: completed the clean sweep of the Test series against South Africa,
- 0:39Speaker 2: but there are a few other things happening around and about.
- 0:41Speaker 2: So I am on a mid morning flight from Radelaide home,
- 0:46Speaker 2: so I thought I'd use the wonders of technology and
- 0:49Speaker 2: join you from here.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Now, tell me, were you at the Comby Hotel after
- 0:53Speaker 3: the game last night?
- 0:54Speaker 2: I was, how do you know you went? Even?
- 0:56Speaker 3: Mate? I have got spices places, You've got no idea.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So you were also in Radelaide last night and yet
- 1:03Speaker 1: here you are this morning, side by side Childer and
- 1:05Speaker 1: Sholder at eight am Monday morning.
- 1:07Speaker 3: We're recording yeap I flew out I just after eight
- 1:11Speaker 3: last night, but I had a message from Horge my
- 1:14Speaker 3: mate Horge yep, Georgie Horges's dad yep, with the photo
- 1:19Speaker 3: of Elizabeth Ellis in the background. Look who's walked into
- 1:22Speaker 3: the company.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Hode it down.
- 1:24Speaker 3: But I laughed because that's pretty much all I saw
- 1:27Speaker 3: you all weekend.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I know, how funny. So I got here Saturday afternoon
- 1:33Speaker 2: and so did you, but we did not align our diaries.
- 1:37Speaker 2: So I went straight from the airport. I met Shelley O'Donnell,
- 1:42Speaker 2: who was flying in so Wide a week. Yeah, I know.
- 1:45Speaker 2: So Shelley and I both got the call on Friday
- 1:48Speaker 2: afternoon from Stacey Marankovich saying that there were going to
- 1:51Speaker 2: be some debutantes and would we do the dress presentation?
- 1:54Speaker 2: And so Stacey rang me and said we'd love for
- 1:57Speaker 2: you to do ash Irvans dress presso and I I
- 2:00Speaker 2: got really emotional on the phone. I was like, oh,
- 2:02Speaker 2: that's so nice, and I'm really about it now. I've
- 2:05Speaker 2: not done one before. So and so when I was
- 2:09Speaker 2: a captain and the Diamonds, it was something that we
- 2:11Speaker 2: introduced as as a leadership group. So before that, like
- 2:14Speaker 2: when I got my dress. It got thrown to me
- 2:16Speaker 2: by the manager here. Yeah, exactly right, So.
- 2:22Speaker 1: You you had to return it afterwards, didn't you.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I was never in the era of returning playing uniforms
- 2:27Speaker 2: that was before me.
- 2:28Speaker 3: But just on that quickly though, because when we got
- 2:31Speaker 3: to the venue yesterday, all of them, all Australia was
- 2:34Speaker 3: setting up the Diamonds chain room, and I said, can
- 2:37Speaker 3: I have a little sneak peek because I wanted to
- 2:38Speaker 3: see what it was like all of their dresses hung
- 2:41Speaker 3: up on coat hangers, hanging on their lockers in the
- 2:45Speaker 3: chain room, and even I walked, I was like, what
- 2:49Speaker 3: we had to remember to pack out?
- 2:53Speaker 2: And do you remember, like back when I started playing,
- 2:55Speaker 2: we well pleated skirts, right, so you had to pack
- 2:58Speaker 2: yours in a way that you didn't it to the
- 3:00Speaker 2: game and pull your skirt out and it was crushed.
- 3:02Speaker 2: So I remember like it was, particularly when I was young,
- 3:06Speaker 2: and I was just scared shitless of the whole team
- 3:08Speaker 2: and the coach and everybody. We had those parasilk skirts
- 3:11Speaker 2: and I had to iron my skirt and I remember
- 3:14Speaker 2: being really scared, like to not have the iron too hot.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I mean, Catherin's been in a room with me where
- 3:18Speaker 2: I burnt a hole in something years ago.
- 3:21Speaker 1: It's easily done with those fabrics.
- 3:24Speaker 2: That's too easily done. And then you put if you
- 3:25Speaker 2: just stuff it in your bag, you pull it out,
- 3:28Speaker 2: it's like, ah, that didn't go so well.
- 3:31Speaker 1: So I'm going to go out on a limb here
- 3:32Speaker 1: and guess that Catherine's never been a stuffed in the
- 3:35Speaker 1: bag kind of gal.
- 3:37Speaker 3: No, I had one of those bags. Yeah, I hung
- 3:39Speaker 3: your skirted.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Only I'm biased had named Catherine, but here you.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Oh my god. Please anyway, let's get back to your story.
- 3:52Speaker 2: So Stacy Raymond asked me, She said, would you do
- 3:54Speaker 2: ash Irvan's dress presentation? And I've got to be emotional? Yeah, absolutely,
- 3:59Speaker 2: And so he worked out time I land and I said,
- 4:02Speaker 2: is there anyone else? Because I'm a sticky beat and
- 4:04Speaker 2: she said yeah. As a matter of fact, Hannah Monday
- 4:07Speaker 2: is coming into the team and Lucy Austin and I said, oh,
- 4:09Speaker 2: who's doing their dress? Preso? So she said, Jenny Borlace
- 4:13Speaker 2: will do Lucy Austin's dress Presso and she lives in
- 4:15Speaker 2: South Australia. But we're just trying to get Shelley across
- 4:18Speaker 2: now to Adelaide to do her dress presentation for Hannah,
- 4:22Speaker 2: her daughter. So I was feeling a bit emotional, and
- 4:26Speaker 2: I just burst into tears because what a moment for
- 4:29Speaker 2: Shelle getting the phone call to say, can you please
- 4:32Speaker 2: come over and do the diamond's dress presentation for your daughter?
- 4:36Speaker 2: So I get goosebumps even now thinking of it. So
- 4:38Speaker 2: I flew in and I met Shelley at the airport
- 4:40Speaker 2: and we went straight to the dress preso and then
- 4:43Speaker 2: we did that and had dinner. Catherine, and then I
- 4:44Speaker 2: saw on because I only know what you're up to
- 4:46Speaker 2: by looking at your Instagram stories, and I saw that
- 4:48Speaker 2: you were having dinner. That's how I also know what
- 4:50Speaker 2: you're having the every meal, and I thought, she's going
- 4:53Speaker 2: to be asleep. So I missed you completely on Saturday
- 4:55Speaker 2: night Sunday, you were working all day. I was working
- 4:58Speaker 2: all day. We had EPs of stuff on and then
- 5:00Speaker 2: you went home.
- 5:04Speaker 3: With well with the diamonds, with the Horges family. Did
- 5:07Speaker 3: you did you say go and say hello to them?
- 5:10Speaker 2: No? I didn't.
- 5:11Speaker 3: That was spying on you.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I didn't know that was firing on me. So we
- 5:14Speaker 2: had the other thing that happened on the weekend, I'll
- 5:16Speaker 2: go back and I'll tell you about the dress press
- 5:17Speaker 2: a little bit later. But the other thing that happened
- 5:20Speaker 2: on the weekend was our ninety five World Cup team
- 5:22Speaker 2: got presented to the crowd, and so it was that
- 5:25Speaker 2: thirty year anniversary, so I think.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Even so it's only seven years ago, nineteen ninety five,
- 5:30Speaker 1: isn't it.
- 5:32Speaker 2: And we all had this conversation about how we all
- 5:34Speaker 2: look exactly the same, so we're so bloody. We're getting
- 5:36Speaker 2: it ourselves obviously, but you know, if you keep telling
- 5:38Speaker 2: each other that, somewhere it becomes the truth. So we
- 5:42Speaker 2: had that, and there was a few of us who
- 5:44Speaker 2: went to the coumby afterwards and we just sort of
- 5:46Speaker 2: sat around the edges and talked to the girls. I
- 5:48Speaker 2: was with Shells, so I bought her a couple of
- 5:49Speaker 2: bottles of champagne and said, like first ever mother daughter
- 5:53Speaker 2: diamonds duo, let's celebrate it. So had we had a
- 5:56Speaker 2: chat to some of the plays.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Oh so good. You know what nearly happened once the
- 6:00Speaker 3: mother daughter combo. But this is going back to so
- 6:04Speaker 3: Dawn White was diamond number thirteen and she played one
- 6:08Speaker 3: test in nineteen forty eight and then her daughter, Jane Tradere.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I think it is. She was uncapped. She was named
- 6:17Speaker 3: in the match day team in nineteen eighty six but
- 6:21Speaker 3: didn't take to the court, so that would have been
- 6:24Speaker 3: the first one. Anyway, Dawn is still alive. She's ninety
- 6:27Speaker 3: seven and she's the oldest living Diamond. Oh yeah, oh wow, Yeah,
- 6:31Speaker 3: isn't that amazing? So Todd Miller sent me, Yeah, Todd
- 6:34Speaker 3: Miller sent me that little start through to say we
- 6:36Speaker 3: didn't have a chance obviously during the game, but I'm
- 6:38Speaker 3: glad I got it out now because yeah, it's fascinating.
- 6:40Speaker 1: So did you get an answer last night? Because Hannah
- 6:44Speaker 1: Monday and Ash came on court at the same time,
- 6:47Speaker 1: so made their debut at the same time. So who's
- 6:49Speaker 1: one ninety six and who's one seven? Do we know?
- 6:52Speaker 3: It was a lot happening last night.
- 6:54Speaker 2: So Hannah was first. Yeah, so Hannah was first, and
- 6:56Speaker 2: then Lucy and Ash came on.
- 6:58Speaker 3: She's clearly one nine five at the same time. But
- 7:01Speaker 3: I gave it to the goal shooter.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Of course you did.
- 7:05Speaker 1: So it was Lucy and Ash, wasn't it you?
- 7:08Speaker 3: And yeah, I just made the call, But I actually
- 7:10Speaker 3: and the reason being is I actually remember that happening
- 7:13Speaker 3: in there was some order of something rather and they
- 7:16Speaker 3: had it in shooter, that order in court order. So
- 7:19Speaker 3: I thought, okay, well, if that's what's happened in the past,
- 7:21Speaker 3: maybe that's what we'll just do tonight.
- 7:23Speaker 2: So how do you get your diamonds number in some
- 7:25Speaker 2: order of something or other? Oh? Everything?
- 7:29Speaker 1: Well, at least Austin alphabetically is before Irvins, so that's
- 7:32Speaker 1: another Yeah. I don't know how you do this, but
- 7:36Speaker 1: you know.
- 7:36Speaker 3: That actually sucked. I didn't love that because you have,
- 7:39Speaker 3: like I had a little blurb for each of the
- 7:40Speaker 3: players in case they came on and you want to
- 7:43Speaker 3: give them their moment, right, Stacy, just give them a
- 7:45Speaker 3: one quarter of parts so we.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Can get great though that we've had all of these
- 7:50Speaker 1: debutantes in this season. We don't have any debutantes named
- 7:54Speaker 1: for the concap, do we.
- 7:56Speaker 3: No, No, Pami Sunday and Sophie Dwyer come in. Sophie
- 8:01Speaker 3: Dwyer or she she's played.
- 8:03Speaker 1: She's ran, because they'd be I think less likely to
- 8:07Speaker 1: get caught.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Time in the concap than yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 8:10Speaker 3: but all of them at once.
- 8:11Speaker 2: It's funny because it's like When I came through, I
- 8:15Speaker 2: was dim in number one ten and they hadn't been
- 8:18Speaker 2: a debutante for three or four years. Oh wow, I debuted.
- 8:22Speaker 2: So I think now with the squad side of size
- 8:25Speaker 2: of twelve, you get more players in and now traveling
- 8:28Speaker 2: with fifteen and yet to move players in and out,
- 8:32Speaker 2: I feel like we get a lot more debutantes who
- 8:35Speaker 2: come in and out of the team. So things are
- 8:37Speaker 2: so different. And we're talking about this yesterday without ninety
- 8:40Speaker 2: five team, just about how hard it was to get
- 8:44Speaker 2: your first test match and then how many times you
- 8:46Speaker 2: just sat on the bench. When I debuted in nineteen
- 8:50Speaker 2: ninety three, were at the World Games and Australia had
- 8:53Speaker 2: just come up a pretty bruising test series against Jamaica
- 8:56Speaker 2: and there was only ten players that traveled with the
- 8:58Speaker 2: team and I was a reserve of the traveler but
- 8:59Speaker 2: didn't play. And then we took twelve to the World
- 9:02Speaker 2: Games and for the very first game, I actually made
- 9:06Speaker 2: my debut in the first game of the World Games
- 9:08Speaker 2: and Joyce was the coach and she said, everyone's a
- 9:11Speaker 2: bit tired. We're gonna run our second second team, so
- 9:14Speaker 2: Lizia will get.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Oh god, oh what a touching moment.
- 9:19Speaker 2: It was brutal, though, it was so brutal, and then
- 9:22Speaker 2: I played, and then I sat on the bench for
- 9:24Speaker 2: the next five games because then Joyce didn't feel like
- 9:26Speaker 2: she needed to play her her twelfth player at all,
- 9:29Speaker 2: leventh the twelfth player at all. And that's just how
- 9:31Speaker 2: it was, right, and that made you tough, and that
- 9:33Speaker 2: also made you when you got your debut or when
- 9:36Speaker 2: you got your every test cap was just so hard earned.
- 9:40Speaker 2: And I get it now high performance is very, very different,
- 9:42Speaker 2: and I get the idea of resting, and there's a
- 9:44Speaker 2: lot more going on. But we were just laughing about
- 9:46Speaker 2: how hard it was back in the day, because it's
- 9:48Speaker 2: always harder when you did it.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Of course, yeah, totally, yeah, totally yeah.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I had to carry a watermelon uphill both ways to
- 9:54Speaker 2: get my test team And that joke will mean nothing
- 9:59Speaker 2: to anyone except for my family, who that's our thing
- 10:01Speaker 2: for one thing to back in the olden days. Oh,
- 10:04Speaker 2: I had to carry a water melon up here both ways.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I said, not a dirty dance, not a dirty dancing reference.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I did this the other day, walked out of the
- 10:11Speaker 1: out of Harris Farm and said, I carried a melon.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I carried a watermelon.
- 10:19Speaker 1: No tie.
- 10:25Speaker 3: One language confird such.
- 10:33Speaker 1: So something I've been wanting to ask for ages the
- 10:36Speaker 1: wiping of the bottom of the shoes with the hands.
- 10:38Speaker 1: So get on court and take your hand and run
- 10:41Speaker 1: it along the bottom of your shoe.
- 10:42Speaker 2: What the hell is that about? It's a filthy habits.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Yeah, but so I used to do that too, because
- 10:46Speaker 3: sometimes the floor does get a bit dusty even though
- 10:49Speaker 3: they wipe them. Yeah, and a little bit of dust
- 10:52Speaker 3: when you're trying to change direction, even if it's the
- 10:54Speaker 3: smallest bit is I used to always do that, or
- 10:57Speaker 3: you might be a little bit sweaty or whatever it is,
- 11:00Speaker 3: but I would always do it for dust.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Okay, I loot that. Catherine's talking about changing direction where
- 11:04Speaker 2: we had a fitness case once, who told her and
- 11:07Speaker 2: I that we changed direction like the Queen Mary shoes
- 11:11Speaker 2: fax it in different.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Listen that one time I changed direction I had to have.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I would think your system would be better on knees
- 11:21Speaker 1: and ankles than this rapid change of direction.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Nonsense, nonsense, rious.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Okay, So it's for the dust, all right, thank you
- 11:32Speaker 1: very much, Very happy from my perspective to see the
- 11:35Speaker 1: huddle back at the end. Of the three games, would
- 11:38Speaker 1: lave to see more of that hashtag bring back the huddle.
- 11:42Speaker 3: It was nice and the Diamonds were so good, weren't they?
- 11:45Speaker 3: It was just so good to see there were three
- 11:47Speaker 3: players that hadn't started for the Diamonds last night start
- 11:50Speaker 3: and then three Debytons and your minus two hundred and
- 11:53Speaker 3: fifteen caps worth of experience or something sitting on the bench,
- 11:56Speaker 3: sitting in the reserve bench tool that they didn't miss
- 12:00Speaker 3: the beat. So I'm really excited now to I mean,
- 12:03Speaker 3: South Africa have great opponents, obviously got a way to go,
- 12:06Speaker 3: but I'm excited now to play New Zealand and see
- 12:09Speaker 3: where we actually sit. But going into a shit show there,
- 12:12Speaker 3: I don't know how mentally they're going to be feeling.
- 12:15Speaker 2: It's interesting is that it will go one of two ways,
- 12:18Speaker 2: because we've all been in teams where things have happened
- 12:21Speaker 2: and filled out a bit out of control, and the
- 12:23Speaker 2: way you cope with that is just to come together
- 12:25Speaker 2: and lock it down and deed talking on the court.
- 12:28Speaker 2: So they'll either be terribly fragmented or they'll be unbelievably
- 12:33Speaker 2: sort of aligned with each other. So it'll be I
- 12:36Speaker 2: can't wait and The good thing is I've only got
- 12:38Speaker 2: five days to wait.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I don't know how good, but we have to get
- 12:42Speaker 3: these wins at home because we struggle to win in
- 12:44Speaker 3: New Zealand. Just haven't won in New Zealand in like
- 12:47Speaker 3: three years as part of this Constellation Cup. No, I
- 12:50Speaker 3: lose the games over there.
- 12:52Speaker 1: So Darryl Milton, Hello, Daryl did some great stuff on
- 12:55Speaker 1: the weekend. I must have just done it late last
- 12:57Speaker 1: night actually about so. And scored more goals against South Africa.
- 13:02Speaker 1: But South Africa scored more goals against New Zealand. So yeah,
- 13:06Speaker 1: so our defensive end was much stronger. I think that's
- 13:10Speaker 1: an accurate summary of what Daryl said.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Defense wins championships.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I'm confident now Attack selles memberships though, and apparently gets
- 13:16Speaker 1: first bite at whatever the diamond's number is.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Yes, that's the most important thing.
- 13:22Speaker 1: I will say. There's something you didn't notice before. I'm
- 13:25Speaker 1: sitting here. It's amazing I can speak at this stage.
- 13:27Speaker 1: It's now good ten minutes ago. But Catherine actually did
- 13:30Speaker 1: something technical a few minutes ago. The screen needed adjusting
- 13:32Speaker 1: and she just leant forward and adjusted it. And I
- 13:34Speaker 1: feel like I feel like we're entering.
- 13:37Speaker 3: A new era because I'm doing something.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Well, let's agree that I'm not particularly technically savvy, but
- 13:44Speaker 1: I'm better than you, so generally it falls to be.
- 13:47Speaker 3: But I mean, it wasn't It wasn't a button or
- 13:49Speaker 3: anything that was important. I just lowered the laptop screen
- 13:52Speaker 3: so that we were more in shot.
- 13:55Speaker 2: So really it was just Katherine making sure that we
- 13:57Speaker 2: could see her. Yes.
- 13:58Speaker 1: To be honest, I'm going to say something. We'll probably
- 14:02Speaker 1: get letters about it. The South African team are doing
- 14:04Speaker 1: a prayer on court after the game. M I wish
- 14:07Speaker 1: we didn't have that great respect for anybody's beliefs, but
- 14:11Speaker 1: I'm happy to see that we don't do that. I
- 14:13Speaker 1: feel like, what if you're part of that team and
- 14:15Speaker 1: you are not religious, do you do you have to
- 14:18Speaker 1: go along with that? Is that not something I feel
- 14:20Speaker 1: like it should be done in the chain rooms afterwards? Anyway,
- 14:23Speaker 1: there you go, and yes, expecting letters on that, but you.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Do see other codes do it like letters? I love
- 14:28Speaker 2: that you think people are going to write letters. Who
- 14:30Speaker 2: writes letters? Whe would you send them to? Anyway? I digress,
- 14:33Speaker 2: but you do see how that that happens in other
- 14:35Speaker 2: codes and not the whole team does it, so maybe
- 14:38Speaker 2: the whole team wanted to do it.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it is.
- 14:40Speaker 3: It's interesting. Can I now that you've had your little vent,
- 14:43Speaker 3: can I do you badly? I stuffed up again yesterday
- 14:47Speaker 3: at the start of the game, so you know, and
- 14:48Speaker 3: you'll appreciate this, Lisen when you do the Welcome to
- 14:50Speaker 3: Country and the anthems, and so when we come back
- 14:54Speaker 3: on here where chit chatting, cha cha cha cha, and
- 14:56Speaker 3: then I'm meant to introduce it, and then that's when
- 14:58Speaker 3: they will go to the welcome to Anyway, it was
- 15:02Speaker 3: meant to be about forty second lead in of just
- 15:05Speaker 3: introducing the game and then throw to the Welcome to country. Chatting, chatting, chatting,
- 15:09Speaker 3: No one's culling me, chatting, chatting, chatting. Still no one
- 15:12Speaker 3: culling me. And at this point I'm sarting to get
- 15:15Speaker 3: butt sweat, you know, like this is I'm stressed, I'm
- 15:18Speaker 3: running out of things to talk about, and then it
- 15:20Speaker 3: just starts. I was like, oh god, okay, so I
- 15:23Speaker 3: went mute and then someone comes in my own and goes,
- 15:26Speaker 3: couldn't you hear me kulling you? Like no, I couldn't.
- 15:29Speaker 3: So apparently they've been cuing me like for probably a
- 15:32Speaker 3: minute to throw to it at years and so I'm
- 15:36Speaker 3: rambling on at the start of the game. So if
- 15:38Speaker 3: anyone was watching yesterday thinking can you shut up? We
- 15:42Speaker 3: want to go to the Welcome to Country because it
- 15:43Speaker 3: was all set up, it was pretty obvious. I was
- 15:45Speaker 3: waiting for something to happen.
- 15:46Speaker 2: That's what happens. So it was you.
- 15:49Speaker 1: It was your Kathy Freeman moment the Sydney Games opening.
- 15:52Speaker 1: You're standing there, the thing isn't rising up. You're thinking,
- 15:56Speaker 1: I'm going to get electrocuted here, set on fire.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I haven't been worried about it. If I was her,
- 16:02Speaker 3: all right, I forgot about that. Did you watch that
- 16:03Speaker 3: thing until?
- 16:04Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 16:04Speaker 1: It was so good.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:06Speaker 1: And they had the whole lot of stuff about backstories
- 16:09Speaker 1: for athletes I didn't know, like the two guys who
- 16:11Speaker 1: won the Madison gold medal Madison Madison. It's a cycling thing.
- 16:15Speaker 1: That's all I can tell you is it's velodrome cycling.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Two of them, one of them had lost a child
- 16:21Speaker 1: in the year before, and the other one had had
- 16:24Speaker 1: a kid with a diagnosis that was clearly life threatening
- 16:28Speaker 1: and that child has subsequently died. But just so much
- 16:32Speaker 1: incredible personal pain and you know, obviously then for them
- 16:37Speaker 1: to have won that gold and have made the decision, well,
- 16:39Speaker 1: what is you know is does this even matter to
- 16:43Speaker 1: us anymore in the scale of other tragedies. But it's
- 16:46Speaker 1: also like when you live a long life hopefully and
- 16:48Speaker 1: what you know, just it was really extraordinary. There were
- 16:52Speaker 1: a number of great interviews with Kurt Fernley about his
- 16:55Speaker 1: small town of Kharkour getting behind him at nine years
- 16:58Speaker 1: old and you know, getting the money together, Dubai's first
- 17:01Speaker 1: racing wheelchair and that, you know, and the parents saying
- 17:04Speaker 1: we don't need this, He's okay, and then the town saying, well,
- 17:07Speaker 1: with respect, this is between us and him. So you know,
- 17:10Speaker 1: it was so I really recommend watching it if you get.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I think it's a two parter. I've only watched the
- 17:14Speaker 1: one part, but yeah, it was. It was great Adelaide
- 17:32Speaker 1: Hotel breakfast. We were there one year during the ashes
- 17:34Speaker 1: and we stayed at what is now I think the Intercony.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Did you say, I think it used to be the
- 17:38Speaker 1: High It went down to breakfast and there was Richie Benno,
- 17:43Speaker 1: whole bunch of legends of the game down at the
- 17:45Speaker 1: buffet breakfast now I don't love a buffet breakfast. You
- 17:49Speaker 1: know I sat. I'm very cool, Catherine.
- 17:51Speaker 3: I just yeah, you sat super close to them, and.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I'll just register it. I'll just know you know, you
- 17:57Speaker 1: have your breakfast. I'm having mine. They're probably just excited
- 18:00Speaker 1: to be sitting near me as I was to be
- 18:02Speaker 1: sitting near there. Frankly, let's be honest.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Thanks is absolutely so.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Last night I had a late night, obviously, flying home,
- 18:09Speaker 3: I didn't get to bed just before midnight, but I
- 18:12Speaker 3: had one of those moments where I reminded myself I
- 18:14Speaker 3: was old. Oh good, because I got into bed and
- 18:17Speaker 3: I actually smiled but groaned at the same time. So old,
- 18:25Speaker 3: Who does that?
- 18:26Speaker 1: I remember in my twenties my friend Helen's mother saying
- 18:29Speaker 1: her favorite part of the week is when she gets
- 18:31Speaker 1: into bed on a Friday night and turns out the
- 18:34Speaker 1: light and she knows that's as far from the working
- 18:37Speaker 1: week as she's going to get. She was a teacher,
- 18:39Speaker 1: and I remember thinking, oh, God, shoot me, if I
- 18:42Speaker 1: ever get like that, I cannot tell you Friday night
- 18:45Speaker 1: how much I love getting into bed and turning off
- 18:47Speaker 1: the light and going, ah, you do smile. You can't
- 18:51Speaker 1: help it.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Smile. It's so funny.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Oh, that's so funny.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Yesterday when we went to lunch before the game with
- 18:58Speaker 2: our ninety five team, and I met Vicki Wilson at
- 19:01Speaker 2: the hotel and we walked passing into kind of We
- 19:03Speaker 2: picked up Jill McIntosh, who's who was our coach, and
- 19:07Speaker 2: Vick and Jill and I went and got on the
- 19:09Speaker 2: tram to go out to the entertainment center. And as
- 19:12Speaker 2: we stood up, Jill went, ah, did that old lady
- 19:15Speaker 2: friend that.
- 19:15Speaker 3: We all do?
- 19:16Speaker 2: And I said, oh, how are your knees? Because she
- 19:19Speaker 2: always had bad knees and I knew that she'd had
- 19:21Speaker 2: one replacement. She said, oh, they're great. I've had them
- 19:24Speaker 2: both replaced. I said, are you just doing old lady greens?
- 19:27Speaker 2: And to get up? She was like, oh, Elizabeth, no man,
- 19:31Speaker 2: but she was. She was doing old lady greens. Oh
- 19:34Speaker 2: my god, I find myself doing that too. Oh, the
- 19:37Speaker 2: kids will go, why are you making noises? Am I
- 19:40Speaker 2: making noises? I didn't know I was making noises.
- 19:42Speaker 3: As long as they're not coming at your later an
- 19:45Speaker 3: advancement for you.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I've got a torn menisca.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Things moving alone.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Is very painful when I take it the wrong way.
- 19:51Speaker 1: But other than that, it's fine. I've got a long
- 19:53Speaker 1: buddy rehab on it or whatever. But I went to
- 19:56Speaker 1: my goddaughter's twenty first in Brisbane a month ago and
- 19:59Speaker 1: the next day could be walk because I'd been dancing.
- 20:01Speaker 1: So Saturday night we're at the fiftieth and I just
- 20:04Speaker 1: knew yesterday would be neurofen and the anti inflammatories, and
- 20:08Speaker 1: it was. And that's just the price I paid disco nies.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Now this is what I love, though, that you didn't
- 20:13Speaker 3: stop the dancing yourself. I'll deal with that tomorrow. Have
- 20:16Speaker 3: your anti in flames as soon as you get home,
- 20:18Speaker 3: and then they work. Twofold.
- 20:19Speaker 1: I did that hang over and there, yes, I did
- 20:21Speaker 1: modify some of my moves, though I wasn't jumping twice
- 20:24Speaker 1: as much so, which is also kinder on the pelvic floor.
- 20:27Speaker 1: But it was a seventies eighties nineties party and the
- 20:32Speaker 1: host and his wife were nineties rockers and they had
- 20:35Speaker 1: a lot of fake tattoos. So my son and his
- 20:37Speaker 1: friends who were bartending for the night, went nuts with
- 20:40Speaker 1: the fake tattoos. And yesterday Lewis comes out of the
- 20:43Speaker 1: shower having tried to scrub his neck clean from this
- 20:45Speaker 1: neck tattoo he'd given himself because he was going out
- 20:48Speaker 1: to meet his girlfriend. And it's like, well, the tattoo
- 20:52Speaker 1: we could probably have dealt with, but now your skin
- 20:54Speaker 1: is red raw.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Now he looks like he's got that wouldn't have got
- 20:58Speaker 3: well with the girlfriend.
- 21:01Speaker 2: I'll tell you, I've made me feel an old team
- 21:02Speaker 2: on the weekend. So if we go back to I
- 21:05Speaker 2: did say that i'd talked a little bit more about
- 21:06Speaker 2: the dress prest place with the diamonds, and so it
- 21:10Speaker 2: was it's so emotional when you do it right. So
- 21:12Speaker 2: and I know that Eloy's southby did it a couple
- 21:15Speaker 2: of weeks ago and apparently she got emotional as well,
- 21:18Speaker 2: so she.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Did.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah, so we started off. I was the first cab
- 21:23Speaker 2: off the rank with Ash. And I don't know Ash
- 21:25Speaker 2: particularly well. I've obviously watched her from Afar and I
- 21:28Speaker 2: love watching a goalkeeper. So that she makes me happy.
- 21:31Speaker 1: And hello, Ash's mum. Kim Dribbler.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Yes, I will get to get Yeah, I'll get to
- 21:36Speaker 2: keep it. The second met Kim last night. But so
- 21:38Speaker 2: to go into that diamonds environment, it's such a special environment, right,
- 21:42Speaker 2: and you don't realize how special it is until you're
- 21:44Speaker 2: out of it. So they're on tour, they've got all
- 21:47Speaker 2: their team stuff going on, and then you come in
- 21:49Speaker 2: and they're all sitting there watching you, and it's your
- 21:53Speaker 2: job to do something really important. So I thought long
- 21:57Speaker 2: and hard about Ash and I, you know, I went
- 21:59Speaker 2: and found out where she started playing. So she started
- 22:01Speaker 2: playing at Model Farms in Sydney, and you know, I
- 22:03Speaker 2: found out a little bit more about her journey and
- 22:05Speaker 2: they moved to Queensland and she's now with Sunshine Coast
- 22:08Speaker 2: Lightning And you want to do it justice because you
- 22:10Speaker 2: want her to remember it for the rest of her
- 22:12Speaker 2: career that that was the start, that's where she got
- 22:15Speaker 2: the gold dress. So it was really lovely. And then
- 22:18Speaker 2: you know, I talked about the ten year old Ash
- 22:20Speaker 2: would have thought in this dress, and that's what made
- 22:23Speaker 2: me really emotional. And it's such a privilege to do
- 22:27Speaker 2: it so and it was. It was great to do
- 22:29Speaker 2: it with the three of us and Shelley, Jenny and
- 22:31Speaker 2: I all played together in that ninety five team and
- 22:33Speaker 2: in the ninety nine World Cup team, so we've got
- 22:35Speaker 2: a bit of history. So then Shelley got up and
- 22:39Speaker 2: she was so funny, but she started off really quite
- 22:43Speaker 2: emotional for Shelle, like, you know, like Shelley's a clown.
- 22:46Speaker 2: She's funny, and she gets on with everyone, and she's
- 22:49Speaker 2: always a life of the party and always you know,
- 22:53Speaker 2: you can hear her from a mile away. She's like,
- 22:55Speaker 2: she's like the our version of Sharnie Layton, I think,
- 22:58Speaker 2: And so she got really quite a but it was
- 23:00Speaker 2: so lovely and I thought, well for Hannah, like Jelly
- 23:03Speaker 2: coached Hannah all the way through her junior year, so
- 23:05Speaker 2: that was so great to hear about all of those stories.
- 23:09Speaker 2: And then she went on to talk about Hannah and
- 23:12Speaker 2: her journey, which was fantastic. And then Jenny Borlace did
- 23:16Speaker 2: the presentation for Lucy Austin and I didn't realize. I
- 23:19Speaker 2: just didn't clock it. But of course Jenny is head
- 23:21Speaker 2: of well Being for the Netball and does a bit
- 23:23Speaker 2: of coaching at the South Australian Sports Institute, so she's
- 23:26Speaker 2: coached Lucy for years and she's talking about, you know
- 23:29Speaker 2: how Lucy is very social and has had to sort
- 23:32Speaker 2: of curve that a bit to make sure she concentrates
- 23:34Speaker 2: on her netball and so it was so nice to
- 23:37Speaker 2: hear the background of the players as they go through
- 23:40Speaker 2: and it's great for these young guys to have somebody
- 23:42Speaker 2: else talk about them in a way that lifts them up.
- 23:45Speaker 2: So it was really fabulous. And then to get and
- 23:48Speaker 2: sit and have dinner with the diamonds afterwards was a
- 23:51Speaker 2: real privilege as well. So I got to sit between
- 23:53Speaker 2: Kate Maloney and Jamie Lee Price and sort of pick
- 23:56Speaker 2: their brains on a few things, which was just fabulous.
- 23:58Speaker 2: But I did feel old. Was after the dress presentation.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Kim Irvan or Kim Whittaker Irvin whose Ash's mum, posted
- 24:05Speaker 2: a photo of Ash as a little kid with two
- 24:10Speaker 2: of the three people on this podcast.
- 24:13Speaker 3: And we are laughing, Yes, bastard.
- 24:20Speaker 2: We are laughing because of Catherine's hair. But I felt
- 24:23Speaker 2: so old because as she's so little and I wanted
- 24:28Speaker 2: to I didn't want to bug her last night. I
- 24:29Speaker 2: thought what I should have done was got a photo
- 24:31Speaker 2: of her standing in the same spot and the teaching
- 24:33Speaker 2: around her shoulder and going this is how it started,
- 24:36Speaker 2: and this is how it's going. So it's actually one
- 24:38Speaker 2: of her mates, and then there's Kim Green, there's Susan Prattley.
- 24:41Speaker 2: So we're at a coaching clinic. We used to do
- 24:43Speaker 2: some clinics and a quarry bank back in the day. Catherine.
- 24:45Speaker 2: So there's Kim Green, Susan Prattley, me, you, and I
- 24:49Speaker 2: think it's Ama Wilde. And so last night that we
- 24:54Speaker 2: were sitting at the pub and one been Joe Weston
- 24:58Speaker 2: and Jabilee were looking at it and they were like, oh,
- 25:02Speaker 2: is that is that Michelle Felke And I'm like, no,
- 25:04Speaker 2: you need to look closer because I was a captain
- 25:09Speaker 2: about diamonds team and I don't know that you look alike.
- 25:12Speaker 2: But at the moment she has a fringe, so maybe
- 25:14Speaker 2: that they thought it was her, and then when they
- 25:16Speaker 2: realized it was you, they may they may or may
- 25:18Speaker 2: not have held their stomachs laughing at your haircut. So
- 25:21Speaker 2: there you go.
- 25:21Speaker 3: I don't know what I was thinking the bowl cut.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Anytime Fox want to use any footage of me playing
- 25:27Speaker 3: for stuff, I'm like, as long as it's the Ponytail era, Yeah,
- 25:30Speaker 3: I've got no issues, but you cannot pull out any
- 25:34Speaker 3: else band era ever.
- 25:36Speaker 1: We've all got haircuts we regret terrible.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Yeah, But the problem is when you're playing a televised sport,
- 25:43Speaker 2: those haircuts that you regret for you for the rest
- 25:45Speaker 2: of your life. You know, everybody else can just put
- 25:48Speaker 2: them in photo albums and hide them, mind you. My
- 25:50Speaker 2: kids still sometimes pull out photo albums and I've got
- 25:52Speaker 2: a perm, so right, we'll get everyone.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Well, I note that you've never stumped up your perm photo.
- 26:00Speaker 3: So well, I honestly don't know this is This is.
- 26:04Speaker 1: A different lie to last year, by the way, when
- 26:06Speaker 1: you said, oh, they're.
- 26:07Speaker 3: At mum and Dad's place. Well, yeah, but I still
- 26:09Speaker 3: don't think there's any really there that are a good
- 26:12Speaker 3: per per perm photo, a good perm you know, like
- 26:17Speaker 3: there was something you just big fluff ferm. I don't
- 26:22Speaker 3: think I've got anything like that. I'll find something. There'll
- 26:24Speaker 3: be something tragic I can bring him to share with you.
- 26:27Speaker 3: But Li's it was so funny listening to Shelley so
- 26:30Speaker 3: em Beaten interviewed her during the game as well. She
- 26:33Speaker 3: she had nothing to say. It's the first time ever
- 26:36Speaker 3: I've seen Shelley speechless. She was. It was just so
- 26:39Speaker 3: awesome to see that side of her because she is
- 26:42Speaker 3: Alaric and as you say, and so's Hannah by the
- 26:44Speaker 3: sound of it. But she was just big time, aren't they?
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yeah, same human? Yeah, So Shelley. I was sitting behind
- 26:56Speaker 2: her when Hannah ran onto the court, Oh my god.
- 26:59Speaker 2: And she was really calm, and I also trying to
- 27:02Speaker 2: peek around to see what she was doing. She was
- 27:04Speaker 2: super calm and cheering and watching. And then she got
- 27:08Speaker 2: up and she walked inside. We're in a sweep that
- 27:10Speaker 2: Neple Australia put on for us, which was great. And
- 27:13Speaker 2: she walked inside and then she walked to the toilet
- 27:15Speaker 2: and she said she saw Jenny Borlace and Jenny said,
- 27:18Speaker 2: how are you? And Shelley just burst into tears, just
- 27:21Speaker 2: sob and I've not really seen Shell cry before. She
- 27:25Speaker 2: she just cried and cried and cried because it was
- 27:28Speaker 2: her girl. Like it's so emotional, like it's such a
- 27:31Speaker 2: massive milestone in our sport, and to be there and
- 27:34Speaker 2: to be sitting with Shelley was again such a privilege.
- 27:36Speaker 2: It's been a really emotional weekend. Every time we talk
- 27:39Speaker 2: about it, I want to cry because it's such a
- 27:41Speaker 2: big moment to be diamond, But you know, you're so
- 27:44Speaker 2: much more excited about what your kids do. Maybe your
- 27:47Speaker 2: kid be a diamond as well. Phenomenally, there were.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Other beautiful moments though, too. I hadn't realized that Lucy
- 27:52Speaker 1: Austin Georgie Horges link and that moment, you know, so
- 27:55Speaker 1: Lucy was on court, Georgie wasn't and far out we
- 27:58Speaker 1: have to talk about Georgie Horges. But like when Georgie
- 28:02Speaker 1: came on, Lucy's response to that and clearly you know,
- 28:05Speaker 1: having played together for so long and what are they
- 28:07Speaker 1: both twenty three?
- 28:08Speaker 3: Yep, they are the babies.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Man, that's really good.
- 28:12Speaker 2: There's a great story in Code Sports this morning about
- 28:15Speaker 2: them and their mums were mates and so they've known
- 28:18Speaker 2: each other since primary school. Crazy, which is amazing.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Fabulous and look where they've ended.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Are so good.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Georgie Hodge has had a blinder.
- 28:26Speaker 3: She honestly, the girl is a freak. She is actually
- 28:31Speaker 3: a freak. When you think about the fact that played
- 28:34Speaker 3: very little goal attack all season, very little been thrown
- 28:38Speaker 3: maybe in the power time to go and you know,
- 28:40Speaker 3: thinking a couple of long bombs. That's all she's played
- 28:44Speaker 3: this series. Missed one shot across the three games, and
- 28:48Speaker 3: you think about how little she is in the scheme
- 28:50Speaker 3: of things across the mid court, not the tallest, but
- 28:52Speaker 3: when you go and put her in the circle with
- 28:55Speaker 3: you know, the biggest, tallest players in the game. It
- 28:58Speaker 3: doesn't hold her back. She's not intimidated. It doesn't affect
- 29:02Speaker 3: the way she plays the game. It doesn't affect the
- 29:04Speaker 3: way she shoots.
- 29:04Speaker 2: My god, she's just some way.
- 29:07Speaker 1: It's like it gets into their heads. We don't know
- 29:09Speaker 1: what to do with this.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Don't you'd be the first one to test it. It's
- 29:13Speaker 3: hard to defend a smaller player, isn't it.
- 29:15Speaker 2: It's hard to defend a little player. You spend your
- 29:16Speaker 2: whole game going where'd she go? I can't find it.
- 29:20Speaker 3: She's running under your feet.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes I don't know where she is. Whereas the big,
- 29:25Speaker 2: the big unn you just sort of put your elbow out.
- 29:27Speaker 2: You know where they are. But when there's someone little
- 29:29Speaker 2: running around, it's hard work, yeah, having to chase them.
- 29:32Speaker 2: I will be interested to see how she goes against
- 29:34Speaker 2: like Kelly Jackson, who is incredibly tall and has improved
- 29:38Speaker 2: out of sight. So I think that will be a
- 29:41Speaker 2: good litmus test for Georgie.
- 29:42Speaker 3: But Georgie would have to be I mean, Curioustin's your
- 29:46Speaker 3: first call attacks selected, Georgie's got to be your second
- 29:48Speaker 3: in this Diamond side. If you're looking ahead, who else
- 29:51Speaker 3: is it?
- 29:52Speaker 2: Well, Sophie Dwyer comes in and she can play goal attack,
- 29:55Speaker 2: so you've got to sort of give her a run
- 29:57Speaker 2: in New Zealand and see how she goes.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm I mean, I think the versatility is key
- 30:02Speaker 3: with this Diamonds line, isn't it. Whoever gets chosen's got
- 30:04Speaker 3: to be able to shift between positions.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Well, that's what they'll be looking at, right. Yeah, So
- 30:10Speaker 2: when you head into your two year period of calm
- 30:12Speaker 2: games and then World Cup, you are playing day after
- 30:15Speaker 2: day after day, so you've got to look at players
- 30:17Speaker 2: who can deliver day after day after day, and who
- 30:19Speaker 2: can deliver across a number of different positions. That just
- 30:22Speaker 2: is how it is. Right. You might not get someone
- 30:26Speaker 2: who is the best at their position if they're a
- 30:29Speaker 2: injury prone or b can't play another position. So that's
- 30:32Speaker 2: what the selectors have to look at. Ye.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Interesting, exciting.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I'm sorry that we won't be seeing Alice teag Neil
- 30:38Speaker 1: in the con Cup. I thought she did a great job.
- 30:41Speaker 1: It must have been funny for her last night that
- 30:42Speaker 1: it's like, well, I'm on holidays now let's party hard.
- 30:45Speaker 1: On the other side, Well, we got to work again.
- 30:46Speaker 3: On Friday.
- 30:47Speaker 1: But yeah, she had a great, great season two.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Yeah, and she's amazing because she's waited so long for
- 30:54Speaker 2: that debut. I'm sure there's been plenty of times over
- 30:57Speaker 2: the years where she thought Diamonds might have to buy.
- 31:00Speaker 2: But it just shows the value of continuing to turn up.
- 31:03Speaker 1: You're in, you're out Shaney Lambton too, not Diamonds. But
- 31:06Speaker 1: you know her Swift's contract this year after having seven
- 31:10Speaker 1: or eight years on training contracts.
- 31:12Speaker 2: So yeah, and you know, I say that often to
- 31:15Speaker 2: my kids. Right when you're talking about representative sports. My
- 31:19Speaker 2: experience is that, and it's like doing it a job
- 31:21Speaker 2: as well. Part of it is just turning up, continuing
- 31:24Speaker 2: to turn up because kids drop out, people stop doing
- 31:27Speaker 2: things for different reasons. If you're the one that's continually
- 31:30Speaker 2: turning up and doing the training and putting in, there's
- 31:32Speaker 2: a pretty good chance you'll keep going.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, diamond Well, there's a good lesson from
- 31:37Speaker 1: the guy.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Heyah, and from Diamonds to Twilight Netball starts tonight, does it? Okay?
- 31:43Speaker 3: But I decided, but this is no training and that's
- 31:45Speaker 3: a bit more lax. So I've said to my team
- 31:47Speaker 3: we'll play what you want to play. This is not
- 31:50Speaker 3: going to be about people in best positions anymore. We're
- 31:52Speaker 3: done with that. Let's just play what we want to play.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Send me through positions. You'd like to have a cross?
- 31:58Speaker 1: Sixty five goal attacks?
- 32:01Speaker 3: No, but about ninety seven goal attacks and mid quarters.
- 32:06Speaker 3: I'm no defenders. I like it.
- 32:09Speaker 2: I'll tell you, I'll do my permission to get people
- 32:12Speaker 2: to get excited about defense.
- 32:13Speaker 1: It is, but once they're in there, they do, don't
- 32:15Speaker 1: they Once you say this is what I think you
- 32:18Speaker 1: need to be doing and they start to own it,
- 32:20Speaker 1: they go, actually, this is fun.
- 32:21Speaker 3: And you know what. Harper is a prime example of that.
- 32:24Speaker 3: All season, every game, every train, Mom, can I please
- 32:28Speaker 3: just play Shooter? Just one time? I'm like, no, you
- 32:31Speaker 3: can't anyway, So I said to her this game, you
- 32:34Speaker 3: can play Shooter and she looked at it. She goes, okay,
- 32:37Speaker 3: I do like defense though, because I'm pretty good at it.
- 32:40Speaker 3: I was like, great. So finally, now that she gets
- 32:43Speaker 3: an opportunity to play Shooter actually wants to play defense.
- 32:45Speaker 3: So Elizabeth, I've cracked her.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Well, well I just kept saying to my kids, well
- 32:51Speaker 2: years ago, we a couple of years ago, I said, right,
- 32:53Speaker 2: we're not going to just keep shuffling around in positions.
- 32:56Speaker 2: You can start to figure out what positions you like
- 32:57Speaker 2: best and we'll start to play there. And the same
- 33:01Speaker 2: thing seventy two goal attacks and goal shooters and centers did.
- 33:07Speaker 2: And then I said to them, well, just say you all, no,
- 33:09Speaker 2: if you put down defense, you're going to get more
- 33:11Speaker 2: game time. There's less defenders. And lie and behold. I've
- 33:15Speaker 2: got three defenders who've been defenders and they still get
- 33:18Speaker 2: all the game time because they're the under defenders.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Well, and this is the tip for rep selection too,
- 33:23Speaker 1: when you put down your two positions, if you put
- 33:25Speaker 1: down wing defense and goalkeeper, you will get more opportunity
- 33:28Speaker 1: when in the trials. You just need court time in
- 33:31Speaker 1: the trials to show what you can do.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Which is interesting because one of the kids of my team,
- 33:35Speaker 3: who played defense all year and he's great, is trialing
- 33:38Speaker 3: and she put down center wing attack. Yeah, and I thought, oh,
- 33:42Speaker 3: that's interesting. Good on, you have a crank.
- 33:44Speaker 2: So there you go. Yeah, very good. Different. Really, that's
- 33:46Speaker 2: how you get into reps. Play defense and do the math. Yeah, passing,
- 33:50Speaker 2: catching and mathematics will get you there. Yeah, there you go.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Can you tell me that story about Kim Ravallion. So
- 33:56Speaker 1: she became a Diamond before she was a super Netball
- 34:01Speaker 1: player because we just had this mid court.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Shortage, Is that right? Yeah? Now? And I had forgotten
- 34:06Speaker 3: about this completely because we're talking about Lucy Austin pregame
- 34:09Speaker 3: and how she'd played twenty seven minutes or something all
- 34:11Speaker 3: season like mental not even been in the ten. But
- 34:14Speaker 3: then Bianke said, yeah, well, what about Kim Revellion. She
- 34:17Speaker 3: was on court for the Diamonds before she even got
- 34:19Speaker 3: took to the court at all for Supernetble. Can you
- 34:21Speaker 3: remember this list because I can't.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Yes, I can, because I was commentating at the time
- 34:25Speaker 2: and Lisa Alexander, who was a Diamonds coach. Every coach
- 34:30Speaker 2: thought of has their projects, has their one player or
- 34:33Speaker 2: two players. They go, you are you are the player
- 34:35Speaker 2: that I'm going to make into a star. And Kim
- 34:39Speaker 2: Ravanian was that for Lisa Alexander, and she, I mean
- 34:43Speaker 2: she repaid her for anybody. I'm going to be the
- 34:46Speaker 2: victim then too, and going no.
- 34:47Speaker 3: What ever do well? Girlsie?
- 34:49Speaker 1: Is why podcast for you? Because I feel like I'm
- 34:53Speaker 1: going to kie my staff.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Oh thank you so much. You're doing not a very
- 34:57Speaker 2: good job at the moment. But AnyWho, I digress. So
- 35:01Speaker 2: we were just like, who is this kid? And she
- 35:03Speaker 2: she come out of twenty one and she was just
- 35:06Speaker 2: super mature. Like at the time, you're all like, oh,
- 35:08Speaker 2: you got to play for your SSN tame before you
- 35:11Speaker 2: or whatever we were then before you play diamonds. But
- 35:14Speaker 2: turns out you didn't have to. Kim Rivania was just
- 35:17Speaker 2: super mature, a great athlete. So having that, having that
- 35:21Speaker 2: physically mature body and the ability she could just run,
- 35:26Speaker 2: I think that held her in good stand And she
- 35:28Speaker 2: had a she had a mature head on her shoulders.
- 35:30Speaker 2: You know, she wasn't flighty or anything like that. So
- 35:33Speaker 2: it was it was really it was a big deal.
- 35:35Speaker 2: At the time. She was amazing, but it would be
- 35:38Speaker 2: too can you imagine, Yeah, can you imagine? I cannot imagine.
- 35:41Speaker 2: I cannot imagine.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Well, we're talking a lot about Lucy Austin, who only
- 35:44Speaker 1: had twenty seven minutes on court and now where she
- 35:47Speaker 1: is imagined, Yeah, that would be very surprising.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Yeah. But also, like the fact of the matter is
- 35:52Speaker 2: that just about every super netball team has an import
- 35:56Speaker 2: as a shooter, right, So the Jamaicans really have been
- 35:58Speaker 2: dominating in this space. You know, there's not a lot
- 36:01Speaker 2: of teams that have an Australian goal shooter, so the
- 36:04Speaker 2: opportunity is are limited. So you know, that's that's you
- 36:07Speaker 2: either decide to not have imports or to limit imports,
- 36:11Speaker 2: or you go, we're going to be the best netball
- 36:13Speaker 2: league in the world, and we need to find a
- 36:15Speaker 2: different way to bring our talent tudors through or whatever
- 36:19Speaker 2: position because in five years time, I guarantee you it'll
- 36:23Speaker 2: be another position that we're all tearing our hair about
- 36:25Speaker 2: about it.
- 36:25Speaker 1: But it's also it's not just that the league has
- 36:28Speaker 1: to be make that decision. The players then have to
- 36:31Speaker 1: go I need to manage my career smartly and strategically,
- 36:34Speaker 1: and I think that's what Lucy Austin has done. And
- 36:36Speaker 1: she's gone, I see an opportunity over here, Like I
- 36:40Speaker 1: can't think that the Giants are suddenly going to be
- 36:43Speaker 1: one or two next year. The Thunderbirds might be you know,
- 36:46Speaker 1: Sh'S but she's going into a team that is unlikely
- 36:49Speaker 1: to perform as well on the ladder as the one
- 36:52Speaker 1: she's leaving. But she has an opportunity to change that
- 36:55Speaker 1: much more. And I think that's a. It's a very
- 36:57Speaker 1: smart move.
- 36:58Speaker 3: Well, similar to Rudy Ellis as well. I went through
- 37:00Speaker 3: what Swift's originally Firebirds West Coast, Fever gets back to
- 37:05Speaker 3: the Vixen so four clubs later, is outstanding and makes
- 37:10Speaker 3: the Australian team. So's she had to do the groundwork
- 37:13Speaker 3: to find the place that worked for her and the
- 37:14Speaker 3: team that worked for her.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and the coach that worked for her too, so
- 37:18Speaker 2: you know that's important as well. So yeah, it is
- 37:20Speaker 2: interesting though, like we sort of all get a bit
- 37:22Speaker 2: uptight and tarror hair out about things and then five
- 37:25Speaker 2: years time we're all talking about different things. And we
- 37:27Speaker 2: used to even have these conversations before there were imports, right,
- 37:30Speaker 2: like you know, back in the column of the Banked
- 37:32Speaker 2: Trophy day, they were like, oh, we've got a real
- 37:34Speaker 2: problem with centa court. I remember we had a couple
- 37:37Speaker 2: of years where they were running like massive center court sessions,
- 37:41Speaker 2: bringing every center court and Australia in because they were
- 37:43Speaker 2: worried that there wasn't there wasn't the depth. And that
- 37:45Speaker 2: was before we went anywhere near imports. So it's all
- 37:47Speaker 2: cicklic cool. You've been around for long enough, you've seen
- 37:49Speaker 2: all the cycles and all the gnashing of teeth and
- 37:52Speaker 2: pulling of hair, and you go, well, it'll come back around.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Well, maybe the cycle we're now saying. Of course, the
- 37:57Speaker 1: South African captain is one hundred and sixty three centimeters,
- 37:59Speaker 1: so maybe what we're seeing is a return to dominance.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Of the short girls.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Heard it here first, So don't give up if you
- 38:07Speaker 1: are one hundred and sixty three centimeters tour. Yes, we
- 38:10Speaker 1: do have I have a I had a correspondence, not
- 38:13Speaker 1: a letter, Liz, You're right, a correspondence from dribbler Karen
- 38:17Speaker 1: Blackall during the week. He was a wing defense who
- 38:19Speaker 1: was five foot seven, which I don't like. But anyway,
- 38:23Speaker 1: she is from Auckland. Her son, Matthew Dwyer, lives in
- 38:26Speaker 1: Toronto and they meet in Soul with their Maybe we
- 38:31Speaker 1: should just go to the pub t shirts and took
- 38:33Speaker 1: a photo and sent it through far I load.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Yeah, that's so cool.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we should actually probably talk about We sold one
- 38:40Speaker 1: hundred and forty of those shirts. Thank you. We got
- 38:43Speaker 1: behind that. So that's five bucks from the sale of
- 38:45Speaker 1: each of those shirts is going to the Confident Girls Foundation.
- 38:48Speaker 1: So we have it. Yeah, so we have a donation
- 38:49Speaker 1: of kat John to them, Yeah, seven hundred dollars. I
- 38:54Speaker 1: did that in advance though, I'm setting you up there,
- 38:56Speaker 1: but yeah, thank you Karen for sending that through to
- 38:59Speaker 1: us that that was great, But thanks to everyone who
- 39:02Speaker 1: bought one of those shirts. And we'll put a photo
- 39:05Speaker 1: on the socials at some stage of us making that
- 39:08Speaker 1: okay to a giant check, take it to the giant bank.
- 39:13Speaker 2: I'm sure that'd love and novelty check. We'll probably just
- 39:15Speaker 2: do it by bank transfer.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Did anyone have a daylight saving screw up? Only me?
- 39:23Speaker 2: Did you?
- 39:23Speaker 1: So? Every Wednesday, my mate Jamie we went to UNI
- 39:27Speaker 1: together and he's writing a book and I'm writing my
- 39:29Speaker 1: next book. We get together at six am on a
- 39:32Speaker 1: Wednesday morning. We don't physically get together, but we sort
- 39:35Speaker 1: of text your desk, yep, what are you planning to do?
- 39:37Speaker 1: And we write for an hour and we just sort
- 39:39Speaker 1: of try to do an hour of power. And I
- 39:41Speaker 1: got myself confused, and I was thinking, okay, well that's
- 39:45Speaker 1: going to mess things up. So I got up at
- 39:47Speaker 1: a quarter to five thinking that that was Brisbane six am,
- 39:52Speaker 1: and I'm writing then for the hour. I haven't heard
- 39:55Speaker 1: from Jamie. It's like, well, this is just really inconsiderate.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Of course, a quarter to five in Sydney is a
- 40:00Speaker 1: quarter to four in Brisbane, not a quarter to six.
- 40:03Speaker 2: So anyway, yes, so and so did Jamie appreciate getting
- 40:09Speaker 2: the text messages.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Well, fortunately he didn't have his phone on, which I
- 40:13Speaker 1: think is sensible to do at that hour.
- 40:16Speaker 2: That is very sensible. But do you know, like I
- 40:18Speaker 2: got to say, living up, I live near the border
- 40:20Speaker 2: the board, and I don't have the I don't have
- 40:23Speaker 2: the stuff ups like I didn't have the stuff up
- 40:25Speaker 2: for dawnlight savings at home. But every time I have
- 40:27Speaker 2: to catch a flight out of the Gold Coast Airport
- 40:30Speaker 2: for the first couple of months, it just does my
- 40:32Speaker 2: heading because I always think I'm going to miss it
- 40:34Speaker 2: on running like.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, well I have done that. I flew into
- 40:38Speaker 1: the Gold Coast and had a meeting round Byron Way
- 40:42Speaker 1: and totally missed the meeting because it's like suddenly you
- 40:44Speaker 1: then go, okay, I've changed my time zone because I'm
- 40:46Speaker 1: now in the Gold Coast, and then you forget that.
- 40:48Speaker 1: You drive, you know, half an hour half an hour
- 40:50Speaker 1: away and then the time changes again. So but yeah,
- 40:53Speaker 1: that was a that was a Calamitous grew up.
- 40:55Speaker 3: Well, So between the two of us, we've had one each.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Oh you had one?
- 40:58Speaker 3: What was last year? I had to run home from
- 41:01Speaker 3: wherever I was because we were recording and I was
- 41:03Speaker 3: in Queensland and stuff to that. So the one person
- 41:05Speaker 3: that should be stuffing it up, Elizabeth across the Borders
- 41:08Speaker 3: all the time, hasn't yet.
- 41:10Speaker 2: But across the Borders just does my head in and
- 41:13Speaker 2: like I've done it before. I did it when I
- 41:14Speaker 2: was working on Sports Sunday. I used to get the
- 41:16Speaker 2: seven am flight out of the Gold Coast to land
- 41:19Speaker 2: in Sydney at eight thirty, to be at nine at
- 41:22Speaker 2: nine and to be on air at ten. Like it
- 41:24Speaker 2: was pretty skinny. But the only time I ever really
- 41:27Speaker 2: stuffed up was the first week of daylight Saving. I
- 41:30Speaker 2: just booked myself on the seven am flight again, but
- 41:33Speaker 2: that's the eight am flight. So I landed nine thirty
- 41:36Speaker 2: and I had to filming at the SCG. So I
- 41:39Speaker 2: got to the car and I had to run, had
- 41:41Speaker 2: to sprint and I hadn't Like my hair was a mess.
- 41:45Speaker 2: There was hair and makeup. I had to just like
- 41:47Speaker 2: there was two of them doing it, just the pits anyway,
- 41:50Speaker 2: possibly the worst show I've done, but it does my
- 41:53Speaker 2: heading continually, tee, what else to do in my heading?
- 41:55Speaker 2: I have to play netball tonight two thousand and seven
- 41:59Speaker 2: World Cup. So I made the mistake of mentioning that
- 42:01Speaker 2: to my old teammates yesterday, and I got lots of
- 42:05Speaker 2: stories about busted achilles. So Harbs did her achilles playing
- 42:09Speaker 2: you know, mother's Catherine Harvey Wims did her achilles playing
- 42:12Speaker 2: in a mother's netball team. Simone did her achilles playing
- 42:15Speaker 2: social netball. Mary A McCormick did her achilles playing in
- 42:19Speaker 2: a celebrity match. She didn't know her knee did a knee. Yeah,
- 42:23Speaker 2: so there's all that. Rosie Jenki did it, there's all.
- 42:25Speaker 2: So they're all just telling me all the stories. I
- 42:27Speaker 2: was like, oh, well, if I turn up on Friday
- 42:30Speaker 2: at the Test match on a scooter, what are you
- 42:33Speaker 2: going to do?
- 42:33Speaker 1: How are you going to warm up? Because you'll need
- 42:35Speaker 1: to start that probably now.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Yeah. So actually funny last night, Kira Austin pulled me
- 42:40Speaker 2: aside and said, Liz, you need to really concentrate on
- 42:43Speaker 2: your warm up And I thought I had never thought
- 42:45Speaker 2: about that. I was just going to turn up and
- 42:47Speaker 2: run but I probably need to start my warm up.
- 42:49Speaker 2: I'll start my stretches on the plane and then I
- 42:52Speaker 2: don't know, So I think I'll just play goalkeeper and
- 42:57Speaker 2: made my daughter play goldifence and tell her what to do.
- 42:59Speaker 2: I said to the other day, you're going to be
- 43:01Speaker 2: able to compare notes with Alison Broadband because I see
- 43:04Speaker 2: yelling Alison to do everything. So I'm just gonna yell at
- 43:06Speaker 2: evil and to do everything. So she doesn't like that.
- 43:09Speaker 1: It seems unfair though, Like I know you're fifty two,
- 43:12Speaker 1: but it seems unfair that you get to play goalkeeper.
- 43:14Speaker 1: I think that you should be forced to play out
- 43:17Speaker 1: of position for this comp I think.
- 43:19Speaker 3: For safety purposes it's better because if you're playing keeper
- 43:23Speaker 3: and you like you remember what you used to be
- 43:26Speaker 3: able to do, when you try and do it, you're
- 43:27Speaker 3: probably more likely to hurt yourself. But if you don't
- 43:29Speaker 3: play shooter or you suck the whole time, it won't
- 43:33Speaker 3: matter if you're terrible. There again, you got no expectations
- 43:37Speaker 3: playing goal shooter apart from.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Bad one, and she doesn't have your five heights.
- 43:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:42Speaker 2: No, I do love the support and care that I
- 43:45Speaker 2: get from this podcast. It's uniform. But yeah, I'm not
- 43:49Speaker 2: playing goal shooter because all the girls in my team,
- 43:51Speaker 2: like the girls, well the girls in the n our team,
- 43:54Speaker 2: there's four mothers and four daughters. All the girls would
- 43:56Speaker 2: have played goal shoot. I'm like, you go for your life.
- 43:58Speaker 2: I'll just I'll just stand up the end in yell
- 44:01Speaker 2: at people throw long shoulder passes.
- 44:04Speaker 1: And do you make the children play Santa Court?
- 44:06Speaker 3: Is that?
- 44:07Speaker 2: Yeah? Toats? None of us are going to play set
- 44:09Speaker 2: of court. We were playing goalkeeper. Another one of the
- 44:11Speaker 2: mums will play goal shooter, and then I think it'll
- 44:14Speaker 2: be wig attack, win defense and let the four girls
- 44:16Speaker 2: run through the middle.
- 44:17Speaker 3: Yeap smart, I'm jealous. Good times the Big game six forty.
- 44:21Speaker 2: So if you hear sirens at seven, it's me, Oh god.
- 44:28Speaker 3: Don't even have you got wood there, don't even joke
- 44:30Speaker 3: about it. Touch something.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Look, I'm actually quite excited. I haven't played, obviously since
- 44:36Speaker 2: the two thousand and seven World Cup, so the first
- 44:38Speaker 2: time in seventeen years, and I've actually played a proper game.
- 44:40Speaker 3: Oh no, no, no, I'm really quite had to came into
- 44:43Speaker 3: it in the celebrity game.
- 44:45Speaker 2: I played the celebrity match and I played like I've
- 44:48Speaker 2: played it. Yeah, like those funny little things, but nothing,
- 44:51Speaker 2: nothing like with two umpires. And yes, that's right.
- 44:54Speaker 1: You played with dribbler Emily Graham who's just had a
- 44:56Speaker 1: baby named Elizabeth.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Oh I no, congratulations Emily. I love that she hedged
- 45:01Speaker 2: to beds in case I go bad, Like it's like
- 45:04Speaker 2: she's not named after Liz, but she's not not named
- 45:08Speaker 2: like in case I go bad and get arrested, then
- 45:10Speaker 2: she can go. I haven't had nothing to do with her.
- 45:13Speaker 2: She's bad.
- 45:14Speaker 3: How exciting? And have you got it? You've got a
- 45:16Speaker 3: dress obviously uniform.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Nah, black pants and a shirt.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Back in a pleated skirt too, And sergeants asked that
- 45:25Speaker 1: we stop keeping ship on the pleated skirts.
- 45:29Speaker 3: The pleated skirts were a thing.
- 45:31Speaker 2: They were.
- 45:33Speaker 3: They were the whole zip thing round the top. Remember that,
- 45:36Speaker 3: And then when you'd had a big off season you
- 45:38Speaker 3: couldn't get your zip part joining up. It's just a whole.
- 45:41Speaker 2: Yeah, And I mistakenly picked up. When I first played
- 45:45Speaker 2: in New Zealand. It was my second Test ever, my
- 45:47Speaker 2: very first game against New Zealand. It was the last
- 45:50Speaker 2: quarter in the last Test and we were losing. So
- 45:52Speaker 2: again Joyce had massive faith in me. It's all over,
- 45:55Speaker 2: we'll give Ellis a run. And I was so nervous,
- 45:57Speaker 2: so I picked up the wrong skirt and it was
- 45:59Speaker 2: a size too small. So I just spent the whole
- 46:01Speaker 2: game going what's wrong with me? God neiless to say
- 46:09Speaker 2: we lost.
- 46:10Speaker 1: I haven't done my foolish words and I've just lost
- 46:12Speaker 1: the page. And it was a beautiful one about teamwork
- 46:16Speaker 1: being a whole bunch of people doing what I say.
- 46:19Speaker 1: And I thought, well, that's that's that's perfect for us,
- 46:21Speaker 1: isn't it.
- 46:22Speaker 3: Liz's life long catchphrase.
- 46:24Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I can't fight madly my.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Catch I'll give you my catchphrase, Carolyn, here go. There's
- 46:30Speaker 2: no iron team where there's two in lizz allis there?
- 46:34Speaker 1: It is?
- 46:35Speaker 2: And you know I say that and everyone laughs and
- 46:37Speaker 2: no one does as I say.
- 46:40Speaker 3: We don't laugh. We do it well.
- 46:43Speaker 1: So this week we have before we get back together again,
- 46:46Speaker 1: we will have had just the one Diamonds Firm Melbourne
- 46:51Speaker 1: on Friday. That'll be Friday night.
- 46:53Speaker 3: What's your tip, Catherine, Australia. I think will be two.
- 46:59Speaker 3: I think it's going to be a lot closer, but
- 47:00Speaker 3: I feel like we will get a more steady stable
- 47:04Speaker 3: side on maybe longer time. I don't think we'll see
- 47:08Speaker 3: so many changes, but Ossie's by at least six. What
- 47:13Speaker 3: do you think about that? Does that sit well with you?
- 47:15Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 47:15Speaker 2: I think no, I think Diamonds by three or four.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm also going Diamonds. I think it'd be really
- 47:22Speaker 1: interesting to see our defenders up against Grace Worky, having
- 47:25Speaker 1: now had the full season with her. You know, this
- 47:27Speaker 1: time last year they hadn't they'd only played internationals against her,
- 47:31Speaker 1: and I think at the end of the Super Netball
- 47:33Speaker 1: season we were seeing teams starting to work out how
- 47:36Speaker 1: to shut her down a bit more effectively.
- 47:39Speaker 3: So and it'll be interesting just to see how Grace
- 47:41Speaker 3: is faring. I think too, she's taken a lot of
- 47:44Speaker 3: this on her shoulders and been vocal over there, and
- 47:47Speaker 3: I think just even going back to playing New Zealand
- 47:50Speaker 3: after having the season in Australia where she wasn't sure
- 47:52Speaker 3: she was going to, that's been a bit of hype
- 47:55Speaker 3: around her. And then this next thing with Noline Tator.
- 47:57Speaker 3: I think she's taken a lot of that on her
- 47:59Speaker 3: shoulders as well, so I don't know she might even
- 48:02Speaker 3: actually be looking forward to leaving New Zealand and the
- 48:04Speaker 3: noise and coming back to Australia where she now feels
- 48:08Speaker 3: comfortable and hopefully playing well and enjoying Naty again without
- 48:11Speaker 3: all the drama would be good for her.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Well, let's just hope it is a very good game.
- 48:16Speaker 1: I would like to say that it's been a delight
- 48:18Speaker 1: spend in my wedding anniversary with you, but yes, that
- 48:24Speaker 1: would be delightful, thank you very much. Yes, it is
- 48:27Speaker 1: a bronze apparently, or the traditional wedding gift is bronze
- 48:33Speaker 1: and aquamarine and chrysanthemum. So, oh, did you get some
- 48:37Speaker 1: chrysanthem No, we don't do anything other than say happy anniversary.
- 48:41Speaker 1: And last night, last night I made the dinner that
- 48:45Speaker 1: I made for Pete the first time he came to
- 48:47Speaker 1: my house for dinner. Wasn't it's lamb chops with a
- 48:51Speaker 1: rocket pear, parmesan and walnut salad and loves potatoes And
- 48:54Speaker 1: I was seeking about it was so funny because before
- 48:56Speaker 1: he was coming, that meal was workshopped by so many women,
- 49:00Speaker 1: Like there's this massive group email at that stage about
- 49:03Speaker 1: what we were and all throwing ideas around, and you know,
- 49:06Speaker 1: eventually we landed on on the lambtop.
- 49:10Speaker 3: Men like meat, well, I love lamb chops. Are they
- 49:14Speaker 3: just like seasoned and.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Yep, delicious and very good. So the meal of romance. Okay, anyway,
- 49:22Speaker 1: so Liz got to get on a plane, so we
- 49:24Speaker 1: should we should wrap this up. But yeah, we look
- 49:27Speaker 1: forward to catching up again after the Constellation Cup or
- 49:30Speaker 1: the first game of the Constellation Cup. Go Diamonds. I'm
- 49:33Speaker 1: Carolyn Swindella oxtitals.
- 49:35Speaker 2: I'm Lozellous. See you next week.
- 49:37Speaker 1: By travel safe, watch out for those Achilles by
