- 0:26Well, hello, everyone, and welcome to the 10penny files.
- 0:29I'm your host, Dr.
- 0:30Sherry Tenpenny.
- 0:32The Ten Penny Files has daily conversations meant to inform and educate, not just to entertain.
- 0:37I come prepared and let the discussion unfold naturally with people worth hearing on topics worth exploring.
- 0:43If it matters to your body, your freedom, your future, we talk about it here.
- 0:48Each day with I talk to doctor authors and documentary filmmakers and independent thinkers whose work challenges mainstream messaging.
- 0:56We cover a wide range of topics from government politics to astronomy, pets, and travel to food, farming and fitness to vaccines and vaccine policy.
- 1:07Once a week I have conversations with pastors or authors who write about faith and biblical principles.
- 1:13My goal is to introduce you to topics you've never heard of before, or to topics you always wish that you had time to explore, but didn't know where to begin.
- 1:20Let our authors and our guests show you the way through the work that they've already done to lead you to a path of deeper discussion and exploration.
- 1:29Join me every day, Monday through Friday at 3 p.m.
- 1:32Eastern on the 10penny files, as we hear from voices who've often been ignored, silenced, or censored, but truly have something important to say.
- 1:40Now, before we begin today's episode, I want to encourage all of you to become a 10 Penny Prime member.
- 1:45Prime members receive every month exclusive content, and they also get access to our monthly Ask the Expert Masterclass, where I bring actual experts for you to discuss your problems with on our online call.
- 1:59To find out more, go to PrimeMembership.drtempenny.com, Prime Membership.drtempity.com to learn more, hopefully join and support our work.
- 2:10And one last thing, I want to say a welcome to everyone who's been following us for a while.
- 2:15Thank you so much for for listening to us regularly.
- 2:18And to everybody that's new, welcome, and we're glad that you're here.
- 2:22So now let's get started.
- 2:23Today's conversation is with the person who's been the global thought leader for more than 27 years on the health dangers of genetically modified organisms or GMOs.
- 2:34Jeffrey Smith is here to talk about his evergreen book, Seeds of Deception, Exposing Industry and Government Lies about the safety of genetically engineered foods you are eating.
- 2:45And I think the title says it all.
- 2:48Jeffrey, welcome so much to the Ten Penny Files, my friend.
- 2:51It's good to see you again.
- 2:52You know, I don't know what you're doing, but you are timeless, ageless.
- 2:57I was gonna say the same thing about you.
- 2:59What do we got?
- 3:00What do we got?
- 3:01You know, I think it's when when you're doing your work.
- 3:05Yeah, um, it's like you have you have uh special wind under your sails.
- 3:11It's like it's like it's not personal anymore.
- 3:13It's like we're here for the planet, we're here as servants, and it just keeps us uh with energy and youth.
- 3:22Well, I I would say definitely youth.
- 3:23I think as long as I've known you, which has probably been close to 25 years, I think that you haven't aged a minute and you look the same.
- 3:32So whatever you're doing, keep doing it.
- 3:34Thank you.
- 3:34Speaking of 25 years, you know, I've been doing this vaccine stuff.
- 3:38It'll be 26 years in September.
- 3:40And your book, Seeds of Deception came out more than 20 years ago.
- 3:45That was an industry shaker.
- 3:47Yes.
- 3:48Still is for people who haven't read it.
- 3:50Um it's it's an it really lays the groundwork for so many things that we're talking about today.
- 3:56Walk us through some of the transitions that you've seen over this last 20 years.
- 4:00And do you think things are getting better, worse, or are they about the same?
- 4:05It's an excellent question.
- 4:07And it's been a roller coaster in terms of looking at the bigger picture.
- 4:11When I started, I used to work at a GMO detection laboratory to identify which foods had GMOs and which didn't.
- 4:20Um, but then I realized, so I was very much in the world debate on it, reading everything that was written in the English language about it.
- 4:27But um no one was talking about the health dangers.
- 4:31And all of these nonprofits were talking about environmental issues, farmers' rights to save seeds, which was being messed up by Monsanto, the uh illegality of patenting life.
- 4:43And so they were fighting on those levels, and I was saying, we should talk about the health dangers.
- 4:48We need to inform consumers because they're at the top of the food chain, and when they find out that GMOs and the Roundup herbicide that are sprayed on them are linked to more than 30 diseases at the time.
- 5:00I didn't know how many diseases, but now we have a lot of evidence linking specific diseases to GMOs and Roundup, and we can get into that.
- 5:08I said, we need to convince and convey this information to consumers, and no one picked it up.
- 5:14So I was forced to write a book about the health dangers.
- 5:18Now, because I'm not a scientist or a doctor, I had to use, of course, third-party evidence and bring in a lot of scientists and doctors.
- 5:28But there was the question well, who am I to say that it's dangerous when the government says it's safe?
- 5:34So then I had to show that actually the FDA scientists uniformly said GMOs would be dangerous and needed to be tested, but the political appointee in charge was Mike was Michael Taylor, Monsanto's former attorney, later Monsanto's vice president, who allowed GMOs on the market without any safety testing or labeling.
- 5:55And then we discovered how Monsanto and others were rigging their research and attacking scientists who discovered problems, and we exposed all of that.
- 6:04And so I traveled to 43 countries, sometimes non-stop for six to nine months a year, and helped build a movement based on this new messaging, and that works.
- 6:16So about half of the world's population now believes that GMOs present long-term health dangers, and that has kept it contained to about 12 GMO foods.
- 6:29However, these days, there's a new way to create GMOs that is so cheap and easy, you can do it at home.
- 6:37It's called gene editing, and CRISPR is the easiest form of that.
- 6:42And you can buy a CRISPR lab for less than 2,000 and create especially microorganisms that have never existed on the planet before and release them.
- 6:52You can create genetically engineered foods and feed them to people or sell them and have no jurisdiction over you in the United States and in places around the world.
- 7:02So what this does is it not only presents an unprecedented threat to the food supply, but once you release a GMO into the environment, it can self-propagate.
- 7:14It can travel, it can become a permanent part of the gene pool.
- 7:18So it's unrecallable.
- 7:21It's prone to side effects.
- 7:22In fact, surprise side effects are the number one result of genetic engineering.
- 7:27It's accessible to everyone with less than $2,000.
- 7:31In fact, high school kids are being assigned CRISPR transformations in science class, and it's not regulated.
- 7:38So these four things that it's prone to side effects, that it's permanent, that it's unregulated, that it's easy, easily accessible.
- 7:45That is the formula for a disaster because we could replace nature in this generation.
- 7:54So this is why right now it is more dangerous than any time in my 30 years looking at GMOs, but also it's an unprecedented time unprecedented time in human civilization where we're now playing with a technology that can affect all living beings and all future generations.
- 8:14And so we need to redefine our relationship with nature to be its protector now that we have the ability to replace it.
- 8:24So it is an urgent all hands-on-deck situation now.
- 8:28And what we're seeing is a is a disinformation campaign by the biotech industry that has convinced country after country that gene editing is predictable and safe and even natural, and it's not.
- 8:41So one of the things that we created at the Institute for Responsible Technology is a six-minute animated film called Seven Reasons Why Gene Editing is Dangerous and Unpredictable.
- 8:52It's animated, you get a vision right into the DNA as to what actually happens.
- 8:57And in six minutes, you'll know more than the regulators around the world because they have been lied to.
- 9:04They've been lied to, but are they willing to listen?
- 9:07That's the interesting thing.
- 9:08You know, I have spoken to heads of state ministers and uh parliamentarians, and some of them are available and can listen, especially when they haven't been the object of an attack by Monsanto.
- 9:24So, for example, Monsanto doesn't have a GMO presence in Taiwan.
- 9:30So when I visited Taiwan, my book there was a national bestseller, Seeds of Deception translated into Chinese.
- 9:37My first press conference was with a former prime minister of the country.
- 9:43Um I ended up having meetings with their top parliamentarian and senators, and they had a hearing where I was they they summoned their version of the USDA and FDA and then heard what I had to say, and then after I left soon after, they eliminated GMOs from children's meals that served at school.
- 10:00School, among other things.
- 10:01So when there is not an uh an effort to disinform and insulate, when I went to Australia, they took my second book, Genetic Roulette, the documented health risks of genetically engineered foods, and the activists got together and bought one and gave one to every single elected official in the country.
- 10:22And when I got there, two states were planning to legalize genetically engineered canola.
- 10:28And those are the only states where I couldn't meet with the ministers of agriculture because they didn't want to listen.
- 10:35And everything we predicted that was going to go wrong did go wrong when they made it available and they lost their premium and they couldn't sell it, and there was cross contamination, and it was a disaster, just like we knew.
- 10:47But it turns out they had Monsanto and others had worked out to give some kind of kickback to the farmers and the farmer organization, so all of a sudden they came on board and made a decision that was against their best interest.
- 11:02You know, I um this was probably but maybe a year and a half ago, maybe two years ago now.
- 11:09Um I had a friend that was staying at my house for uh a couple of weeks, and not really into whole food and you know, natural food and all that stuff as much as what I am.
- 11:22And they came home one day and had a like a protein bar that was sitting on the kitchen counter, and I picked it up and I thought, what's in this stuff?
- 11:29So I was looking at the side, and it says made with bioengineered ingredients.
- 11:34And I really hadn't heard that term before.
- 11:37So I started looking it up and looking at the difference between bioengineered and GMO and looking at all the GMO stuff, and what turned out to be what I started to do was to create a 1200 word um substack on this topic, which turned into a 40 page research paper of all the stuff that I kept finding that I I really need to finish and I need to need to put out there.
- 11:58But what is the difference uh that people know?
- 12:01Uh people understand and know about GMOs and they're bad and they anticipate them being bad, mostly because of your work of what you've done all of these years.
- 12:11What's the difference between a GMO and a bioengineered issue?
- 12:15Bioengineered is the term that the USDA used to confuse people.
- 12:21You see, what happened was I was part of a nationwide effort to get GMOs labeled, and we tried in different states and the biotic industry with supporters from the food industry, spent over 100 million dollars lying on television because there's no law against lying on television in a political debate.
- 12:43I mean, it's crazy how blatant it was.
- 12:46And so we were not able to get ballot initiatives, but Vermont passed it in their legislature that they were going to be labeling GMOs in the state.
- 12:57And what happened was the biotech industry did a full court press onto Congress to say, we can't have individual states, we have to do it nationally, and we shouldn't leave it with the FDA, we should do it to the USDA because they had a lot more influence in the USDA.
- 13:15So they passed what we call the DARK Act, denying Americans the right to know, and said, no state can require labeling, we'll give it to the USDA.
- 13:24And long many years later, they came out with a terrible, a terrible uh labeling law, which, oh, you don't have to even put a note on there.
- 13:34You could put a QR code.
- 13:36So it required people to have service and a and a smart foam and then go through a website to find out if this ingredient was genetically engineered.
- 13:44Well, that got overturned by the courts.
- 13:46Um it turns out that they give a pass to anything that doesn't contain genetically engineered detectable DNA.
- 13:56So most GMOs have been refined, like you know, corn syrup and soybean oil and things like that.
- 14:03You can't find the DNA in them.
- 14:06So those don't have to be labeled.
- 14:08And anything that's a result of gene editing, which we just talked about, those don't have to be labeled.
- 14:13And if they have to be labeled, let's use a term that no one's heard of.
- 14:17So it's all a way of covering up the truth, hiding information from consumers.
- 14:25Now the courts just uh acknowledge that another layer of this was illegal, that they couldn't have to require detection.
- 14:33So we'll see what they come up with next.
- 14:35But it's basically being dictated by the GMO makers.
- 14:39In fact, someone who used to be at the FDA said all the regulatory agencies have done everything that big ag has asked them to do or told them to do.
- 14:49And we know that they have their own cronies inside these regulatory agencies.
- 14:54Sometimes it's the secretary, you know, the the cabinet member, and oftentimes it's high-level high-level placed people, like the person who was in charge of the cancer committee of the EPA, Jess Rowland, was one of Monsanto's lackeys.
- 15:09And when there was this evidence that glyphosate, the chief poison in Roundup was likely causing cancer, and that's a Monsanto product, he sent to his handlers a text at Monsanto saying, if I can stop this other division of the government from testing for cancer on your product, I should get a medal.
- 15:32And then he ran the committee that said, oh no, there's no relationship between Roundup and cancer, and an analysis of his committee showed that they basically used Monsanto's data, including things that they had ghost-written and paid people to sign, whereas the World Health Organization used published peer-reviewed data and came out with the opposite conclusion that Roundup is probably a human carcinogen.
- 16:01And then the juries around the world have found the same that you know they've awarded billions of dollars to people who because they see how Monsanto covered up the truth.
- 16:11Those it was very exciting to be part of those trials because we saw some of the things I hadn't been able to uncover on my own.
- 16:20So usually I have a pretty big encyclopedic knowledge of this stuff.
- 16:24But then I found out, for example, that in order to test Roundup, which is sprayed on most roundup ready GMOs, they took Roundup and they applied it to human cadaver skin to see if it would be absorbed, because this was required by the EPA.
- 16:39And it turns out it was absorbed at a rate of 10%, which was 3.3 times the allowable limit, which, if they admitted, that would not have been allowed to be marketed.
- 16:49So they did Monsanto science, which I have been studying for a year, but this is a beautiful example, a perfect example of how Monsanto rigs the game.
- 16:58They took new human cadaver skin and they baked it in an oven.
- 17:03Then they took that baked tough skin, but it wasn't good enough, then they froze it.
- 17:10Then they applied Roundup to that baked frozen human skin, and very little was absorbed, and they reported that very little bit to the EPA, never telling them that they had baked and frozen the human skin before applying it.
- 17:25You know, Jeffrey, every time I hear stories like this, hear stories like this from the vaccine industry and the different things that they do and don't do.
- 17:34I I wonder how do these people live with themselves.
- 17:37And uh, when it comes to stuff like this, what do they eat that they are allowing this to go into the into the food supply?
- 17:45And how do they live with themselves?
- 17:48Is it does it come down to is it all about money only about money?
- 17:52Or is it someone?
- 17:53See, it's interesting.
- 17:54I have some stories from the inside.
- 17:56I know I talked to a former Monsanto scientist, and he said that he was aware that three of his colleagues were testing milk from cows that were treated with Monsanto's bovine growth hormone.
- 18:08And they found so much IGF one, which is cancer related in the milk, that the three Monsanto scientists refused to drink milk thereafter unless it was organic, and one actually bought his own cow.
- 18:21Right?
- 18:21So in Monsanto, they couldn't, they wouldn't have it.
- 18:24I was also told by the same scientist that the rats that were fed Monsanto's corn developed serious health issues.
- 18:33So they rewrote the study to hide the effects.
- 18:35And he told me he was concerned that the amount of corn that they fed the rats was quite a bit less than the amount of corn that's eaten in Southern Africa, because it's a staple eaten three times a day.
- 18:46Now, typically Monsanto's maximum corn feed is 33% in their animal feeding studies, and the maximum amount is 90 days.
- 18:55Whereas the people in Southern Africa can eat it 70% of their caloric intake, sometimes 90% in times of famine.
- 19:03So he left Monsanto and was concerned about that.
- 19:06I actually interviewed a veterinarian whose client was a South African farmer.
- 19:13And he had come to this American veterinarian saying, What can I do?
- 19:19And it turns out the cows were sick and had poor milk and the pigs were sick and had um really bad symptoms, and he said, Don't feed them another GMO.
- 19:29So the farmer, because they had seen a lot of problems with animals fed GMOs in the United States.
- 19:35Now it's considered normal, but for those that were around before and after GMOs were introduced, it was this huge deterioration of health.
- 19:42So the farmer planted non GMO corn because he had been, he had been planting his own GMO corn, and the farmer and the cows were eating so much of this GMO corn and the pigs.
- 19:53So he planted non GMO corn, started feeding them, and they got better.
- 19:57But what was happening was his farm work.
- 20:00We're eating the same corn he was growing for the animals.
- 20:03So it turns out while the farm workers were eating the GMO corn, it was 100% GMO corn, not the mixture normally in the market where there's some GMO and some non-GMO.
- 20:13And he said there was constant fever and cold like symptoms and inflammation and headaches.
- 20:21He had all this these medicines for people.
- 20:24He needed 50 workers, but he had to hire 60 because there was always 20% that were too sick.
- 20:30And the farmer told the veterinarian that about once or twice a month, he'd be talking to a farm worker, and the eyes would start tracking in different directions, not moving in parallel.
- 20:43And he knew that within one or two days, they would be dead.
- 20:47Oh my goodness.
- 20:48And he didn't know why.
- 20:50But when these switched to the non-GMO corn, all of the problems went away with his workers.
- 20:56Now, they were eating more GMO food than probably anyone in the world because of the amount of corn they're eating three times a day, and the fact that it was a hundred percent GMO.
- 21:09So they're the canaries in the coal mine.
- 21:11So yes, this Monsanto scientist who was worried about the people in Southern Africa, was aware of the dangers of just in 90 days that it was causing to rats.
- 21:20And I don't, I never had a chance to tell him what was actually happening on this farm in South Africa.
- 21:27But I've also heard one time there was this story of someone who was traveling with Monsanto as a consultant in England and they were wanting going to be fed somewhere else.
- 21:36And he joked, this was early on in the late 90s, I think, or early 2000s.
- 21:40He joked and said, Well, you know, we may get those GMOs.
- 21:44And the person said, Oh no, no, we made sure that it doesn't.
- 21:48So it's uh it's remarkable.
- 21:52And you know, there is this kind of of narrow-minded uh blinders on people where people think, well, it's not my job, or someone else was handling it, and I'm sure they're doing a good job.
- 22:07Countless times I went to regulators in other countries, and I said, and they would say, I don't, we don't need to test and verify GMOs because your FDA tested them and verified them.
- 22:19And I said, actually, no.
- 22:21The FDA scientist said they should be tested.
- 22:26But the person in charge of policy, Michael Taylor, Monsanto's former attorney, later their vice president, said no testing was necessary.
- 22:34Companies like Monsanto can determine if their own GMOs are safe.
- 22:38There's a voluntary consultation process, technically known as a meaningless exercise, where they give data summaries, not even the raw data, to the FDA.
- 22:50And at the end of 60, 90 days, they get a letter back saying this is to remind you that it is your responsibility to determine your foods are safe.
- 22:59You've determined that they are, and we have no further questions.
- 23:03And then when there's even an interview uh with a Monsanto scientist who says it's not our decision, it's not our responsibility to determine if GMOs are safe.
- 23:15It's the FDAs.
- 23:17So everyone's passing the buck.
- 23:19And when you look at the actual research studies, if someone like my old friend who's who's now past Dr.
- 23:26Arpad Pustai discovered that GMOs are inherently dangerous and cause massive damage in every system he looked at, he got fired, threats of a lawsuit silenced, and that happened over and over again.
- 23:39Or other people that discover problems, and then Monsanto makes equal and opposite research with rigged research and obsolete detection methods and say, oh no, no, it's not true.
- 23:49Our studies showed just the opposite.
- 23:51So pointing this out to these other regulators, they kind of get white.
- 23:55They kind of realize they have real, they have been duped.
- 23:59They thought that it was handled.
- 24:02And thank goodness I was on the road.
- 24:04I remember one time there was a delegation visiting the United States to learn about GMOs from the State Department, you know, this big propaganda.
- 24:12And I somehow convinced them to send a few my way when I was living in Iowa, and a bunch came over to learn from me.
- 24:19You know, the the people of State Department did not know who I was.
- 24:23So one of them was like the FDA chairman of um of Croatia.
- 24:29The top person uh in their government department.
- 24:32And I brought in a Croatian version of Seeds of Deception, and I threw it on the table and said, and he goes, That's yours?
- 24:38You're that guy.
- 24:39I said, Yes.
- 24:40And he goes, until you came to the country and that book came, none of us had any thought that GMOs might be dangerous.
- 24:48So this was years later.
- 24:50And so I got ripples, you know, coming back to me years later that that uh my work, and I say this for your benefit because you have no idea when you give a talk how many people hear it and whether you know you come back later.
- 25:02I mean, one time I was I was speaking at the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, and I had been there for four years in a row giving talks on GMOs and different diseases each year.
- 25:13So one the final year they were going to give me an award, and I brought a camera and I interviewed some some doctors, and they had all been prescribing non-GMO to their patients and getting better results.
- 25:25So I got the video.
- 25:26One woman said, Dr.
- 25:27Emily Lindner from from Chicago, she said, Yeah, I I give non-GMOs to all my patients now, and they all get better.
- 25:35And I said, and I was skeptical.
- 25:38I said, What percentage?
- 25:39She says, I said everyone, all right, 98%.
- 25:43And I said, How many people have you put on non-GMO diets?
- 25:47And she goes, just a minute.
- 25:48And she calculated how many people she sees and how long she looked up and said, about 5,000.
- 25:54And so I said, Can I come to your office and interview the patients?
- 25:57And I did.
- 25:58And also another doctor's office who was prescribing non-GMO.
- 26:02And it was remarkable.
- 26:03The changes were incredible.
- 26:05Three days, the Crohn's disease symptoms disappeared, six weeks, uh, the irritable bowel symptoms disappeared.
- 26:11The all these things were shifting.
- 26:13And at the same time, we brought the video camera to farmers who had put pigs and cows now on non-GMO and were saving the same thing in three or four days with the same basic symptoms.
- 26:24And I remember talking to her in the interview at the end, and I said, Where'd you learn about GMOs?
- 26:29He goes, She said, from you.
- 26:32I had no idea that these ripples occurred, you know.
- 26:36So uh it's been a fun runcing the society this way.
- 26:42I remember reading your book back in 2003 or 2004 when it first came out.
- 26:47And the one um one example that you gave there, and we're gonna tell you this, and then we're gonna go to our break.
- 26:52I think I know what it is.
- 26:53Go on.
- 26:54That you had two fields, one with GMO corn, one with non-GMO cord, and the Canadian geese wouldn't eat the GMO thing.
- 27:04They had the whole field, they've none of them would go there.
- 27:06And I thought, you know, the animals are smarter than humans, they know better, and they didn't eat them.
- 27:10And I've I've remembered that all these years because it made such an impact on me.
- 27:15So it's just so great to hear you talking about this.
- 27:18I've got some really specific questions I want to ask you right after the break about about the G about the uh Trump's executive order and glyphosate.
- 27:25Then I want to get in a little bit to the pesticide immunity bill and the stuff that we're trying to fight with that.
- 27:30So we're gonna take a quick break to hear from our sponsors for AmericaOut Loud.news.
- 27:35America Out Loud Um Talk Radio plays the 10 Penny Files on iHeart Radio Network daily, Monday through Friday at 3 p.m.
- 27:42Eastern.
- 27:43You can also listen anywhere in the world by going to AmericaOut Loud.news and listen through their media player.

- 34:27Well, welcome back, everybody.
- 34:29Today's conversation is with Global Thought Leader on the Health Dangers of Genetically Modified Organisms, commonly known as GMOs, Jeffrey Smith to talk about his evergreen book, The Seeds of Deception, Exposing Industry and Government Lies about the safety of genetically engineered food that you're eating.
- 34:46The title says it all.
- 34:48Let me tell you a little bit more about my friend, longtime friend.
- 34:52We were talking about that before the show.
- 34:53We've known each other for more than 20 years.
- 34:55Let me tell you a little bit more about Jeffrey Smith.
- 34:58Jeffrey Smith is the global thought leader on the health changes of GMOs over the last almost 30 years.
- 35:05He has authored two best sellers, directed five documentaries, delivered more than 2,000 lectures in 45 countries.
- 35:13He has trained thousands of speakers and organized more than 10,000 grassroots advocates to stop the poisoning of our food.
- 35:21Additionally, Jeffrey Smith has counseled world leaders on six continents.
- 35:25His meticulous research has been presented at medical conferences, inspiring thousands of thousands of doctors to prescribe non-GMO and organic diets.
- 35:35His success is measured by the fact that at least 48%, if not more by now, of the world consumers has acknowledged that GMOs are unhealthy.
- 35:46Jeffrey, welcome back to the show.
- 35:48Thank you so much for your many, many years of such hard work and dedication to humanity.
- 35:53We are greatly indebted to you.
- 35:55Thank you, my friend.
- 35:57You know, um what do you think?
- 35:59You've been sort of the leader for decades that you were the one that first exposed all this stuff about glyphosate, all their crappy research and all their shifty scientists that have been censored in all these different things about Roundup and the active ingredient, which is glyphosate.
- 36:15I had a um uh a landscape guy a few years ago that said glyphosate is a toxic watch, and he drank it.
- 36:23It was like right in front of me, and my eyes just popped out of my head, and I thought, ooh.
- 36:29Well, okay, you can lead horses to water, but you can't make them drink.
- 36:34Oh my goodness, I've never heard that.
- 36:36That is horrible.
- 36:37Well, let me let me do this.
- 36:38Um, I'm gonna uh all right, I have an idea where we may want to go with this that'll really pop the eyes of your listeners, and like, whoa, go ahead.
- 36:49I'm gonna do that, but I want to get your thoughts on President Trump's executive order about making the acquisition of glyphosate and national security issue.
- 36:56Even though I think it's China produces 80% of it or something like that.
- 37:00And um uh it really turned off and enraged the Maha people and uh who have been standing so firmly behind Bobby Kennedy of trying to make America healthy again.
- 37:14And then after they did that, all the work that we've been doing on stopping the pesticide immunity bill, which has been said by Catherine Austin Fitz and a couple of her researchers that if we get if that passes, it is going to be an extinction level event because of the negative impact on fertility.
- 37:35So those two things kind of together all circle around glyphosate.
- 37:38What are your thoughts about those issues?
- 37:41Yeah, I am going to integrate this eye popping information into my answer because it is I want to make it very personal.
- 37:49I want to point out that how bad glyphosate is to put into context this presidential uh executive order and this liability.
- 38:02So I want to build a case that glyphosate and GMOs, especially the GMOs that have glyphosate on them, are a national health issue and maybe one of the most negatively impactful toxins ever in modern society.
- 38:23I'm not talking about infectious disease, I'm talking about toxins.
- 38:27Now, first of all, people should know that glyphosate, the chief poison in Roundup is what is used to spray on Roundup Ready soy corn, cotton canola, sugar beets, and alfalfa.
- 38:41Most of those, except it's not all of the alfalfa and the and the um the it's not all the alfalfa, but it's most of everything else.
- 38:52Most of the soy, most of the corn, most of the canola, most of the cotton is Roundup Ready.
- 38:58All of the sugar beets.
- 39:00And that means it's designed not to die when sprayed with roundup.
- 39:04So if you eat the GMOs, the roundup gets absorbed into the plant, deposited in the foods portion, and it's in our food in large numbers.
- 39:12But that's not the only exposure.
- 39:14Obviously, if your neighbor's doing it, that's another exposure.
- 39:17But it's also used to dry down grains and beans.
- 39:21So it's sprayed on wheat just before harvest, three to five days before harvest.
- 39:26It's sprayed on oats, it's sprayed on lentils and mung beans and chickpeas.
- 39:30So it's in high concentrations.
- 39:32If you go to responsible technology.org, we have a database of the glyphosate levels of various raw food products as well as brands at responsible technology.org.
- 39:44Now, that means it is in the food supply.
- 39:47Now, to avoid it, you want to eat organic, um, which doesn't allow either GMOs or Roundup.
- 39:53But I'm going to talk about the liability shield, but I want to I want to indicate just how.
- 40:00Dangerous this stuff is.
- 40:03My friend Dr.
- 40:05Stephanie Seniff, who downloads massive amounts of data from the internet.
- 40:12She's a she's a senior researcher at MIT and she knows how to do big data analysis, and she also has a degree in biology.
- 40:21So she wanted to figure out using data and biological mechanisms what was causing autism.
- 40:28And so she pulled everything down that she could and said, I understand, because of the physiological changes why these kids have these particular problems, but I can't figure out the toxic input.
- 40:40So she looked at every single toxin that she knew about, and it didn't fit.
- 40:45She went to a lecture by another friend of mine, Dr.
- 40:47Don Huber, and sat at the edge of her seat because he was talking about glyphosate.
- 40:52And realized that glyphosate fit hand in glove perfectly as a trigger for autism.
- 40:59Now you have a you have your own theory on it, but then the two may work together, but that was an example of later she put a chart together of the incidence of autism in six-year-olds, the amount of glyphosate they've been exposed to over the past four years, how much glyphosate has been sprayed on soy and corn, and it was nearly a perfect correlation.
- 41:26And it demonstrated high correlation, but she had also the biological mechanisms of how glyphosate could change the physiology to create that.
- 41:37Now I'm going to just review some of the other diseases.
- 41:40For those that are watching, and there's going to be both watching and audio.
- 41:50If you're not watching, it's okay.
- 41:52These charts describe how correlated different diseases are to glyphosate.
- 41:59And they're very highly correlated as the disease goes up, the as the disease goes up, so too does the amount of glyphosate.
- 42:06So we have inflammatory bowel disease, death from obesity, anxiety, diabetes, deaths from Alzheimer's, deaths from Parkinson's, deaths from hypertension, autism in six-year-olds, which was, as I say, nearly a perfect correlation, insomnia, celiac disease, acute kidney injury, death from kidney failure, kidney and renal pelvic cancer, liver cancer, liver and bile duct cancer, thyroid cancer, deaths from leukemia, breast cancer, deaths from intestinal infection, deaths from disorders of lipoprotein metabolism, peritonitis, hepatitis C, dementia, deaths from senile dementia, diagnosis of ADHD, schizophrenia, suicide by overdose, tons of birth defects.
- 42:56I'm flipping through all these types of birth defects, uh, including blood disorders, and then there's anemia and deaths due to stroke.
- 43:04Now, in addition to these charts, I sent out a survey to 3,256 people who reported getting better from 28 different conditions when they switch to largely non-GMO diets.
- 43:20And the number one improvement was digestive disorders with 85.2% reporting improvements.
- 43:26And most of those that reported improvements, 80% of them was either significant improvements, almost gone or completely resolved.
- 43:3460% got better from fatigue, 54.6% from overweight or obesity, about 52% from brain fog, also from anxiety and depression, over 50% food allergies and sensitivities, and it goes down to all these different diseases.
- 43:50I don't need to mention them all now.
- 43:52But the idea is this is a national emergency.
- 43:56So put that against Trump's executive order saying protecting the availability of glyphosate is a national emergency.
- 44:09They were told by Bayer that bought Monsanto that if they don't get protection from liability of people suing them for cancer, that they're going to stop making glyphosate available, and that will destroy the soy and corn and cotton and canola and sugar beet crops that rely on them.
- 44:33So instead of creating a logical transition from this dangerous toxic input with 300 million pounds a year sprayed on America to a non-toxic-based agriculture, Trump folded and said, okay, we need to declare this a national emergency.
- 44:57Now, it's unclear to me whether the executive order grants the liability, but it's being used in the Supreme Court case where Bayer has asked the Supreme Court to say, if the EPA approves it, no one can sue.
- 45:16If the EPA doesn't require a label, no state can require a label.
- 45:22The liability law built into the farm law and others also, no one can sue if it's passed by the EPA.
- 45:31You it's protecting against their liability.
- 45:34Now we already mentioned earlier that the that Monsanto lied to the EPA.
- 45:39They had their watch, they had their lapdog in the EPA.
- 45:43And there's many other ways that in these court cases, it was found out that they disgored experts that showed them that their glyphosate was probably causing cancer, and fired the expert, and then Ghost wrote exactly the opposite in a review study, and then paid people to sign it and sent that to the EPA.
- 46:08So they defrauded the EPA, they defrauded the this science science community, they defrauded consumers, and now we're not allowed to sue if this passes because the EPA says it's okay based on false and fraudulent data.
- 46:25So the whole thing is an absolute disaster.
- 46:29So I know I've met Bobby Kennedy on the road around these trail trials.
- 46:36He was one of the attorneys for the first Monsanto Roundup case protecting Lee Johnson, representing Lee Johnson, who was a groundskeeper for the Benisha School District in California, who got non-Hodgkin's lymphoma from using Roundup.
- 46:57And he won and was awarded, you know, 250 million dollars, although the judge lowered it.
- 47:04And so Bobby Kennedy, you know, RFK Jr.
- 47:08knows about the dangers of this stuff.
- 47:10We talked about it on his podcast, and he's not in charge of this.
- 47:16The USDA secretary is in charge of this, and the EPA is in charge of this, and that has allowed this disaster to continue.
- 47:27And then the way that it was supported in the executive order, just reinforces what's we have been watching for more than two decades that the government has done everything that big ag has asked them to do and told them to do.
- 47:44Even the State Department was turned into an enforcement wing by Monsanto, where if you look at the cables made available from WikiLeaks, they met with Monsanto's representatives.
- 47:54They told governments to accept GMOs and Roundup all over the world.
- 47:59So it's a the USAID.
- 48:02You know, they they were an enforcement wing.
- 48:05They were sending GMO soy and corn to places for that had famine rather than giving them money.
- 48:12And I remember I was in Zambia.
- 48:15They had been, they had said, we don't are we're not allowed to take GMOs.
- 48:19It's against our laws.
- 48:20And the U.S.
- 48:21said, tough.
- 48:22Take it or starve, right?
- 48:24And they said, we'll find it somewhere else.
- 48:26This infuriated the American government because it blew their pretend scheme that GMOs were there to feed the world.
- 48:34So they started to nail Zambia.
- 48:36They sent over Congress people and senators, and they tried the I was talking to one of the ministers, and he introduced himself to the Secretary of Agriculture and Venoman as from Zambia, and she goes backward country and turned and walked away.
- 48:49They were being completely marginalized and attacked.
- 48:55So when I wrote a full article interview for an uh investigative reporting magazine in South Africa called Nose Week, I love the name.
- 49:04The I got I got uh contacted by the government newspaper in Zambia saying, can we when can we place that?
- 49:12Can we use it?
- 49:13They did a full spread inside their paper with a picture of the president with my talk about uh GMOs and the dangers because it vindicated them.
- 49:23And then when I was there, I spoke to their House of Chiefs.
- 49:26They have a Senate and a Congress and a House of Chiefs, and I first thing I did was I said, I'm from the United States, and I apologize.
- 49:33We they have treated you so badly.
- 49:35You were right to say no to GMOs.
- 49:38No one died from starvation.
- 49:39They got their food from someone else.
- 49:41But can you imagine?
- 49:42We already talked about what happened in South Africa, where people eating it.
- 49:45Now you have immune compromised people who are sick, and you feed them GMOs, and it's a disaster.
- 49:54So, yeah, so the government has been basically an enforcement wing of Monsanto.
- 50:00Which is now part of BAER.
- 50:02And this is just the latest in what is the travesty.
- 50:06Wow.
- 50:07Well, that was very important information that everybody needed to hear.
- 50:11I want to switch shift gears just a little bit, but for the sake of time, I'm going to ask you to keep it a little bit shorter.
- 50:17We've only got about five or six minutes left.
- 50:19All right.
- 50:20Another couple of hours.
- 50:22But you know, recently, you were part of a research team that published a paper titled Genetically Modified Microorganisms, Risk and Regulatory Considerations for Human and Environmental Health.
- 50:34What are genetically modified microorganisms and why should we be concerned in just a couple of minutes?
- 50:41All right.
- 50:42Microbes, our microbiome inside us can determine whether we're healthy or sick, the bacteria, algae, fungus, viruses, archaea, all of them are part of the microbiome.
- 50:53Microbiome is essential for human health.
- 50:56You know that.
- 50:56Many of your readers or listeners know that.
- 50:59Microbiome is essential for environmental health.
- 51:02The algae produces most of the Earth's oxygen.
- 51:05The mycorrhizal fungi shift uh shuttle nutrients between trees.
- 51:09Soil microbes conduct the uh carbon cycling.
- 51:14When you genetically engineer a microbe, you introduce a new genetic combination that may never have existed before.
- 51:21You release that into the environment.
- 51:23Microbes swap genes.
- 51:25So if you've given them some kind of survival advantage, that new gene or gene combination can be passed on around the world, changing the nature of nature, that it would be irrecallable and can change the way the microbes inside us and around us support life.
- 51:43It could cause disease, it could cause damage or collapsing ecosystems.
- 51:47And right now, there's a massive amount of genetically engineered microorganisms that are being put on farmlands and being created by high school and college students.
- 51:58So this is absolute existential threat.
- 52:02And one of the most important things that I can do is to try and get this and other governments to say we cannot allow genetically engineered microbes to be released into the environment or we may destroy life.
- 52:16Wow.
- 52:17So are you making any headway with that?
- 52:20Are we getting these people to stop?
- 52:22Well, get the publishing this.
- 52:25Before you answer that, why are they doing this in the first place?
- 52:29Well, it was interesting.
- 52:31I talked to a microbiologist who works with microbes.
- 52:35And at the beginning of our hour long conversation, he said, I have no problem with releasing GMOs in the environment, GMO microbes.
- 52:43And at the end of the hour, this person who is very senior said, You've completely convinced me.
- 52:50I don't think any genetically engineered micro should be released ever.
- 52:54We had a microbiologist on microbiologist on staff who said, check with your colleagues what their concern about GMO microbes are.
- 53:00He contacted five of them and they said all the same thing.
- 53:03Never really thought about it.
- 53:05It's not like they think of the disasters and say, let's go.
- 53:08They just don't think about it because everyone is moving forward.
- 53:12There's two companies that have already created genetically engineered microbes as soil inoculants, and it's on as much as 45 million acres with as many as five trillion microbes per acre.
- 53:22There's also genetically engineered microbes being used in factories where let's say you want to create an opioid, you take an opium gene from the opium poppy, put it into yeast or bacteria or algae, and then it produces the opium, and then you isolate it, purify it.
- 53:39You have a cheap way of producing opium or CBDs or industrial enzymes or a vanilla or whatever.
- 53:45Now you have these organisms in your factory that if they get out, now they're producing these things in the environment.
- 53:52If they get into the human gut microbiome, you may have opium or CBDs or these things being produced inside you 24-7.
- 54:00And think about even in the most secure uh laboratories, anthrax gets out, flu viruses get out.
- 54:09What about these factories where there's hundreds of them producing these called synthetic biology or SYN bio.
- 54:16Is it possible that they're going to escape from these factories?
- 54:20Of course.
- 54:21So it's it's like a ticking time bomb.
- 54:25Well, Jeffrey, you know, we could talk about this for another hour, right?
- 54:29Take in a lot of notes here, and I'm gonna listen to this interview again because this is so terribly important.
- 54:35Um, in the last minute or two that we have here, what's your takeaway for people and where can they get your books and your documentaries and all of the things that you so I'm gonna give three things.
- 54:45First of all, um, biotech industry has been trying to attack me for years.
- 54:49They didn't, they haven't been successful until recently they hacked our Facebook account, and we lost 125,000 people who lost the account.
- 54:59So please go to the Institute for Responsible Technology Facebook page and be joined the page and join the group so that we can tell them you're not gonna get away with it.
- 55:10Let's rebuild it together.
- 55:11You can go to responsible technology.org, which is the mothership of information, sign up for the newsletter and watch the film.
- 55:19Don't let the gene out of the bottle, 16 minutes on the dangers of genetically engineered microbes, and one that was two weeks away from being released that could have, according to one scientist, ended terrestrial plant life on the planet.
- 55:31Fortunately, we didn't find out because it wasn't released.
- 55:34And you can watch the six-minute film about the dangers of genetically engineered gene editing and a lot of other things.
- 55:42And so if you want the book, the book is is the seeds at Seeds of Deception is old, but it's as I say, as you said, evergreen, because it's about how this stuff was introduced.
- 55:52And that's that's bedrock in terms of based on lies and whatnot.
- 55:56And that's at Seeds of Deception.com.
- 55:59So I have also the best video, the best documentary that I created with Amy Hart.
- 56:06It's called Secret Ingredients, and that's at SecretIngredients Film.com.
- 56:11The reason why it's the best is because people switched to organics and got better.
- 56:15Kids who are on the spectrum, no longer on the spectrum.
- 56:19People that couldn't get pregnant got pregnant.
- 56:21One woman has a hundred percent success rate at her clinic for having infertile couples have kids, and the main thing is she puts them on organic food, talking about fertility.
- 56:31We're gonna have all these links in the show note below.
- 56:34So um, Jeffrey, thank you so much for your decades of artwork.
- 56:38Thank you for being my friend all these years.
- 56:40And thank you for what's coming in the future, too.
- 56:42That we'll leave that as a little tagline.
- 56:44Uh, but thank you so much for this great interview and this great conversation.
- 56:48We're out of time for today, everyone.
